"The moral argument for racism basically collapsed. And this is why when Martin Luther King was fighting in the civil rights movement, he was fighting against some dogs and hoses in southern sheriffs and bull Connor, but he wasn't really fighting against a rival ideology. No one stepped forward and said, sorry, Martin Luther King completely wrong. Here are ten reasons why segregation is fantastic. No one did that. Why? Because the case for segregation had already collapsed. Now, Douglas, on the other hand, unlike Martin Luther King, was endured slavery. So he obviously suffered far more, he wrote a masterpiece, his autobiography, the autobiography of Frederick Douglass, notice that Martin Luther King has no, he has the letter from the Birmingham jail, which is very well worth reading. He has his famous I have a dream speech, but he has nothing like a classic work penned by him, which Frederick Douglass has. Frederick Douglas also had a very poignant meeting with Lincoln. In which he kind of changed his view about Lincoln. He was initially very skeptical about Lincoln, but then he realized, hey, listen, yeah, link is not giving me any special treatment he's not the great Frederick Douglass, but he is treating me as a man. He's treating me basically as no different whether I'm white, whether I'm black, Lincoln doesn't really see color. So in this sense, it's Frederick Douglass, who's the true author of the colorblind idea and not so much Martin Luther King. And finally, Frederick Douglas went on to do to talk about what he called the self made man. By the way, this is an idea also developed by the man who is in my view the second greatest black American and that's Booker T. Washington. So in my ranking, it's Frederick Douglass number one. It's Booker T. Washington number two, and it's Martin Luther King number three. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, Mike lindell and my pillow are launching the my pillow two. When Mike invented my pillow, it had everything you could

"Let's just look at the situation on Capitol Hill. This was a catastrophic failure of security by the capitol police. Totally. And the police in the District of Columbia who were responsible for the security of the capitol, but it's the capitol police are responsible for the security of that building. The Speaker of the House, the sergeant at arms in both chambers and the architect of the capitol. I used to run this when I was the chief counsel and staff director of the Senate rules committee. I had jurisdiction over the capitol police and all the security. The fact that they were unprepared knowing that there were going to be a half a million people who were going to be asked to march to the capitol in peaceably demonstrate shows that they were woefully unprepared. Now, when you're unprepared and you lose the advantage as a law enforcement organization, the one thing that you do not do is you do not become bull Connor and you do not start brandishing weapons on people who are unarmed. This is a big mistake. It is a catastrophic security failure on Capitol Hill, which never should have occurred. They were totally unprepared. That's called making the news as it's happening. That's a throwback to our former studio two years ago as the events of January 6th were unfolding. We had the perfect guests in studio, people who understand what was happening even as it was happening. And we're back because of the breaking news of January 6th and all that footage that's been released to a certain individual at Fox News and your favorites are back in studio. Jojoba, Victoria tansen, do you remember that interview? Do you remember what that day was like? Never forget it. That was something else. Because you had just gotten in from hearing the speech. I'd been right there in front of the ellipse with the president listening to the speech, couldn't make it to Congress. My speech in front of the Supreme Court later that afternoon had been canceled, although that Nancy Pelosi subpoenaing my text messages because I was giving a speech at the Supreme Court. But let's go back in time because we have to talk about these latest developments. We have to talk about what's happening in the last two years. But Joe, why were you why were you uniquely qualified to talk about security on capital hill as those events were occurring? Please remind our listeners. Well, I had been the united states attorney for the District of Columbia under Ronald Reagan from 1983 to 1988. How old were you? I'm going to have something very rude. How old are you? I was 36. That's crazy. The youngest U.S. attorney attorney for district. He was great. I believe he was great, but that's so young. Yeah, but I had also been an assistant U.S. attorney in that office years before. And one of my assignments was to monitor the demonstrations in front of the then Soviet embassy. And all of those demonstrations over the years had been monitored, controlled with the Metropolitan Police department, demonstrations on Capitol Hill, tremendous amount of planning, scripting, talking with the Defense Department, the State Department, everybody. There was no way that you have something like January 6th, and you don't plan that out in every single step of the way every detail fine tuned with the police, the National Guard, and everything. And it didn't happen. But you also, in that position, as U.S. attorney, you were in those meetings back then with the house. Yes, absolutely. We conducted those meetings. We were in charge of making sure that the FBI, that the Metropolitan Police that everybody coordinated the activities that we had prosecutors ready to go to do arraignments in court if large numbers of people were going to be arrested. And so this was routine. We had been doing this for 40 years and then this happens on January 6th and you look at it and all you can say as a professional is these people did absolutely nothing to prepare for this major event. They were so prepared. I think it was interesting that Joe has told me that they would say, okay, you're all going to be arrested. And then we're going to go down to the station. And then we're going to let you go. And everyone agreed, okay, we'll do it that

"The correspond association thank you very much For standing for our questions we hope the public is found as enlightening as those of us in the room have I want to ask you a care about one of the still stands We appreciate it We very much do So the question I want to ask to accountability sir on one of the top public concerns of course which is the coronavirus and the government's response to it whether it's confusion over what style of mask to wear When to test how to test where to test the public is confused sir And you see that in a drop off in the polling on this question Why did you tell Jeff that you were satisfied with your team Why are you not willing to make or interested in making any changes Either at the CDC or other agencies given the fact that the messages have been so confusing Well first of all the messages to the extent they've been confused is because the scientists through learning more They're learning more about what's needed and what's not needed And so the fact is that the one piece that is gotten a lot of attention is the Communications capacity of the CDC Well she came along and said look I'm not I mean I'm a scientist And I'm learning I'm learning how to deal with stating what is the case that we've observed But look I think that it's a little bit like saying when we went through the whole issue of how to deal with polio and Apollo shots We were set in the beginning I saw those changes a little bit We moved this way that way Or when we dealt with anything else I mean this was a brand new virus Brand new phenomena Some of it was deadly otherwise more communicable This is an unfolding story It's a nature of the way diseases spread We're going to learn about it in a lot of other areas the not just COVID-19 And so I think you know I look at it this way Think about how astounding it was within the time frame that it took to be able to come up with a vaccine I used to write about that pretty amazing How rapidly they came up with a vaccine That saved hundreds of thousands of lives Did everything get right No And by the way the idea whether we anyway I'm talking to you Thank you mister president I have two really simple questions I promise You campaigned on canceling $10,000 in student loans Do you still plan to do so and when And then my second question is now that you've clarified the bull Connor comments do you plan to reach out to Republicans like Mitt Romney to talk about reforming the electoral count Yes I'm happy to speak I've met with talked to mit another occasions And by the way I reached out to the minority leader as well At the time they made a speech And so I have no reluctance To reach out to any Republican and anyone who and I've made it clear look I've now had the opportunity to travel Because of funerals and eulogies I've made in the tenant and congressmen and senators have come along with me I don't hold into the number but somewhere between 20 and 25 senators and Congress persons have traveled with me And I find you should get the list of them and ask how set for the two three four 5 hours that we've flown together sit back in that conference table and talk to them Ask them questions They ask me questions I learn a heck of a lot But as president you don't quite have that ability to do that as often as I'd like to be able to do it And one of the things that I do think that has been made clear to me speaking of polling is the public doesn't want me to be the president's senator They want me to be the president and let senators be senators And so if I've made many mistakes I'm sure if I made a mistake I'm used to negotiating to get things done and I've been in the past relatively successful at it in the United States Senate even as vice president But I think that role is president is a different role Folks it is now almost 6 With all due respect I'm going to see you next conference okay Thank you Thank.

"How many more hours am I doing this I'm happy to stick around You always ask me the nicest questions I know you do All right None of them make a lot of sense to me but let's try away Come on New year Why are you trying so hard in your first year to pull the country so far to the left Well I'm not I don't know what you consider to be too far to the left If in fact we're talking about making sure that we had the money for COVID making sure we had the money to put together the bipartisan infrastructure and making sure we were able to provide for those things that in fact which significantly reduced the burden on working class people but make them have to continue to work hard I don't know how that is pointed to the left If you may recall I you guys have been trying to convince me that I am Bernie Sanders I'm not I like him but I'm not Bernie Sanders I'm not a socialist I'm a mainstream Democrat and I have been And mainstream Democrats have overwhelming if you notice The 48 of the 50 Republican Democrats supported me in the Senate I'm virtually everything I've asked Yes sir Clarify a moment ago You were asked whether or not you believed that we would have free and fair elections in 2022 of some of these state legislatures reforms their voting protocols You said that it depends Do you think that they would in any way be illegitimate Oh yeah I think it easy illegitimate Imagine if in fact Trump has succeeded in convincing tends to not count the votes imagine if in regards to 2022 Imagine if those attempts to say that the count was not legit you have to recount it and we're not going to count We're going to discard the following votes Sure I'm not saying it's going to be legit The increase in the prospect of being illegitimate is a direct proportion of not being able to get these reforms passed But I don't think you're going to see you're not going to see me and I don't think you're going to see the Democratic Party give up on can coming back at assuming that the attempt fails today One more sir You campaigned and you ran on a return to civility And I know that you dispute the characterization that you called folks who would oppose those voting bills As being bull Connor or George Wallace but you said that they would be sort of in the same camp No I didn't say that Look what I said Go back and read what I said And tell me if you think I called anyone who voted on the side of the position taken by bull Connor that they were bull Connor And that is the interesting reading of English So we got into journalism because you like to write Did you expect that that would work with senators mansion or cinema There's certain things that are so consequential You have to speak from your heart as well as your head I was speaking out forcefully and what I think to be at stake that's what it is And by the way no one no one forgets who was on the side of king or verse on or bull Connor No one not done that The history books will noted And when I was making the case don't think this is a freebie You don't get to vote this way and then somehow it goes away This will be stick with you the rest of your career and long after you're gone And mister president.

"Thanks for listening. If you're just tuning in. We've been hearing from comedian and filmmaker CJ Hunt, discussing his new documentary Neutral ground with City Lights. Host Lowest rights is Let's continue with more of their conversation. Now this film started in 2015 You finished in 2020. You started with a theme of tragedy, the Confederacy and Monuments to it coming down. You had no idea what Was going to unfold in terms of Murders of innocent people in the next five years. Political climate more divided then. Any other time in our history. Other than the civil war. So how did you know when it was time to stop recording? We were asking a simple question in 2000 and 15. We were asking a question that even when I told people they thought, Oh, what a cute little municipal issue. Our question was how hard Well, certain white Southerners. Hang on to four objects that honor enslave urz. Right? This was this was being debated in City Council, the same place where they're talking about zoning and paving the streets. This is an issue of Can white Southerners be honest enough about history? That we can move for objects. From here to here across town. We did not know that Donald Trump was going to be elected within a few months. We did not know that he would rise to power on a myth about how America was greater before and how it's greater without all these brown people who are ruining yet we did not know that that Charlottesville was coming. We did not know that the capital riot was coming. We did not know that. Even now, Republicans would struggle to name insurrectionists as insurrectionists. We didn't know any of that. But we had a sense of there is something deep and dark. To the way people will hold on to What they believe to be their past racist, so complicated in this country, and there are so many conversations that we are not yet able to even have consensus on And in this film we're not asking about defunding. The police were not asking Why the video that our Children have seen more often on Facebook, then Cat videos are videos of black men being executed by police officers. We're not talking about reparations. We're not talking about how broken the schools are. We're talking about what should be a lowest common denominator, which is Can we get symbols other than enslave ear's on the highest pedestals in this city? That should be so basic? And the fact that folks trying to hang on to that brings us to a place of terrorists again and again, attacking our government and taking the lives of people in broad daylight. I think that reminds you that the story that we tell about the past has a price. This isn't a theoretical debate about all. Well, what do I think? History is And what do you think History is, this has a price. The murderer who took nine lives in Charleston in a church. Was emboldened by a story about our white passed and the glory and what black people are taking from us. The murderer who ran his car into a crowd and killed Heather, higher, injuring many more in Charlottesville a few years later, was motivated by the same live So if we do not get this lie right, it will continue to draw blood in our country. And that is the same thing that Frederick Douglass was warning us about in 18 seventies. He was saying. If we do not get this right if we do not remind people that the late or had a right side and a wrong side, we are missing an opportunity to make treason odious and unfortunately The tragedy that you are saying is that we did not listen to Frederick Douglass, then. And I fear that we are not listening to the hundreds of thousands of black and brown and queer and allied protesters who are making the same claim now. You bring in interesting aspect into the film about those who contributed to The false narrative about southern history. The So called lost cause, And I thought that was romanticized in that you emphasize women had the most to rip that C. J. Would you talk about white Southern women as those who faced rebuilding and coming to terms with losing this little war? If folks want to read about this, you should absolutely follow the historian in our film Karen Cox, who wrote Dixie's daughters and so many other really great books that are really illuminating about the role of white Southern women in this history. But I think when we think of white supremacy and the history of racism in this country, we're thinking about men, right? We're thinking about Bull Connor, and we're thinking about segregationists men pulling freedom writers out of buses and reading them or thinking about the KKK riding through the night. We're not thinking about women. Right. We're not thinking about the photos of women grown women shouting and spitting at black school Children who are just trying to integrate schools. We're not thinking about what this film you know, illuminates. Which is that The widows. And daughters and granddaughters of the fallen Confederate veterans formed these organizations. Which then consolidated into the United Daughters of the Confederacy, whose job was to vindicate the Confederate generation. They built hundreds of monuments in this country that you can go to a Confederate monument. Unfortunately, still standing in your community, and you'll probably see that this was built by and funded by the United Daughters of the Confederacy. This was the same group who is putting learning standards in schools and making sure that you know their standards were reject the book if it calls Confederate soldiers. Traders reject the book if it does not suggest that slaves had a good time in slavery. This is the same group who said that the slaves are lucky to be here. And if it wasn't for us, they be climbing trees in Africa. So they built white supremacy. Into our landscape. And into our schools. And they did this at the price of their own freedom. That these are women who instead of pushing for the vote. Instead of building freedom for all women. They dedicated their entire lives to nursing the broken the egos of their men. And I think on a personal level, what I hear from folks who respond to Karen Cox is work and respond to the film. I think there are some women who really understand that idea. But instead of working for their own freedom They're working for the broken ego of some man who cannot get over his loss..

"I don't know what it is, you know, throwing breaks another time people write me. You should do this on your show. You should have this guest. Don't forget to mention us. Don't Who want Has the brass wants to bother it? Talk show host about this. That's an amazing thing. An amazing thing. People constantly tell me how to do my job. I had to do a show. I move on your the audience here who I care about. Trying to unravel what Obama did in this whole effort here. There were many Prominent critics of CRT. Critical race theory. One of the most important ones to me was the late Reverend Martin Luther King, Junior's chief of staff, confident and friend is closest Confidante. Dr Wyatt T. Walker. Walker was a legend in the civil rights movement in his own right. His friend and frequent collaborator in the school choice movement. Steve Clint Ski Right. So Walker was King's field general in the organized resistance. Against notorious Birmingham Birmingham Safety Commissioner Bull Connor. I'm not gonna read this whole thing, too. But why is this significant Because Walker had nothing but contempt for critical race theory. He was disgusted with it. In critical race. The irritations were disgusted with him. And the civil rights movement. Remember what I said earlier. About what Marcus had said. Marcos said that this is nothing but an effort to create. A tolerant society proved to prevent the proletariat from rising up and overthrowing this country. Well, of course, they have nothing but contempt for the Civil Rights Act of 64, the Civil Rights Act of 65 Martin Luther King himself, although only a few of them will admit that Martin Luther King's confidant sought and he know it. Because he's not a Marxist. And so this is what He's being talked to your Children. This is what's being peddled to your Children again. I'm not going to go into it anymore or page after page of the page and putting the book down, you understand my point. They reject all the progress that's been made because from their perspective, it's nothing more. Nothing more than an effort to prevent a full blown Marxist violent revolution. That is their belief. How do I know? Because I've read it. One scholar after another. I've read Marcos, just like the new leftist read Marcus. And he's not the only one Derrick Bell. He'd been a professor at Stanford Law School than Harvard Law School. They don't hide their views their way out there for everyone to read. And so when you have these apologists on TV, and you have an apologist Obama Whose bodies were domestic terrorists whose bodies Well, Mark, whose followers Nobody knows better than Barack Obama. What critical race theory is what critical theory is. Because he was pals with domestic terrorists. Who are also followers of Marcus and the new left movement. And that man was elected president of the United States for eight years. While they trashed Trump, and they trashed all the Republicans and sister big issue Now we got a lot of big issues, pal. A lot of them, but they're sure as hell is one of the mic. I cover many in the book. Thought you'd want to be aware of it. I'll be right back. Ladies and gentlemen, I want to ask you a question. Did you know withdrawing your cash from the bank can be very risky. That's right. I said it. Let me educate you about this. Banks are now required to spy on us for the government and the report. Any behavior they think is suspicious, man. Oh, man, I was shocked as I read the Secret War on cash from Swiss America..

"Republicans, uh, of light supremacy prerequisite for black Republicans would be accepted by white Republicans. The reason I asked that Because All my research I've been doing for you for a few years. Now I've seen Republicans. Black Republicans say trade by Mark got what he deserved, and he was a thug. I hear black Republicans. Say there's no such thing. The structural racism of her black Republicans attacked black lives matter and black football players. I've never heard black Republicans say Donald Trump ever did anything wrong? I set them. I watched the GOP put Tim Scott In front of millions of people is, say America has no issue with race. Um, if you do the research if you take Eight out of 10 black people, They will say that there is structural racism. Why the only black Republicans that defend this white supremacy Well, I don't know if black Republicans of defending white supremacy I think that your thesis is off kilter. I think that your thesis is ill formed. First of all, so let me put it that way. If in fact you're writing a paper from that perspective, it is you, William. And I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, but I'm saying it's you who need to go back. And do some more research. Because when you talk about white supremacy in the United States of America, you're talking about a phenomenon that had its earliest genesis with regard to the development and the formation of the Democrat Party, not the Republican Party. If you're going to talk about white supremacy in America, you're going to talk about Democrats. You're gonna talk about the party that was the party of segregation. You going to talk about the party? That was the party that authored of the black codes you're going to talk about the Democrat Party is the party that had as its enforcement arm the Ku Klux Klan. That was their invention. You're going to talk about the party that talked about segregation yesterday. Segregation today and segregation forever. Under the auspices of people like the governor at that particular point in time, His name just slipped out of my head. But that was a Democrat governor, you're gonna talk about the party of Bull Connor, who sicced dogs on young, black and white college students. And crack them upside the heads with nightsticks and turned the water cannons on them when they were pro testing for true racial justice and equality. So you're going to have to read form the thesis to reflect that it is not Republicans who defend white supremacy. But Democrats who not on Lee invented it. But defended it up until very recently in American history. Mork could be, said William, but I'll leave it there for now. 809 239385 809 to 3 Double U. D. Either i know about health. I mean for something. That's supposedly the cured. The deadliest pandemic in human history. They sure do have to work for any hard to get these people on board. I mean to be fair. It's almost an insultingly cheap price for what you're giving up here like like you know. Shoot me up with an experimental serum that rewrites my dna maybe sterilizes me maybe gives me cancer perhaps even kills me but hey at least i get a fucking doughnut in. Yeah i am doing a callback to the intro here. But i didn't the simpsons do all we're thinking about this. Did the simpsons predict this homer. Simpson sold his soul for donut. They did it yet again. Phone yam. I dunno i dunno. How grading does it. But he's he's a genius. The rest of us apparently are are morons. Because we're living the lives of homer simpson and that's really who we wanted. Model our behavior on america homer simpson. Apparently i think the best part of this. I mean besides people who are like eighty five years old basically passed the average expiration date right are severely overweight people pretty much the only one who are at risk of dying from the virus anyway. I mean yeah unless severely overweight..

I'm fine with being kicked off of my committees because it be a waste of my time. You know who I am? I'm a very hard worker, and I'm proud of it. So now I have a lot of free time on my hands, Which means I can talk to a whole lot more people all over this country. "You're gonna go to the team that has a chance to win. But if but if you can. I mean, even if it's like, let's say it's it's similar. Let's say the money similar. Let's say maybe team teammate is is offering you $5 million more money than team be most of the time. Orders. Take that money, especially in the NFL. So I mean, listen, Jared Jared golf When he looks good, he can look good. But when he looks bad, man, he looks bad. Tom right here on the edge. When he it looks like he's afraid to get hit and when your quarterback and you're afraid to get hit, there's a think that comes along with that The defense knows it. You're right. No, You're right, Tom. Happy New Year to you. Thank you for listening, All right? Careful they're getting in the Sacramento Sac town. Mean isco's guy. So you know, I kind of hope I don't sound cool. Like Jim Rome does talking about Sacramento. The left coast. I've heard people call the left coast were northeasterner so You know, we have our own way about things, but yet it Zafarani because Jared Golf Woz like Gerry Goffin, Carson Wentz pick one, too. And for a while it looked like Carson Wentz is gonna be the much better quarterback Now you watch him this year, at least for like, half of the year and you're like, Wow, That's why you want God. Office, a better pure rhythm passer. But like Tom had said, And this also applies the Carson Wentz. This year, People will ask me because I'm in Philly. I do 20 hours a week a radio it wi pe 2 to 6 p.m.. You can find it on the radio dot com map. Um What happened to Carson Wentz, and it's not an easy answer, and I don't think it's just one thing. But here's what I saw from Carson Wentz late in the season, and it's exactly what Tom was talking about with Jared Goff. He took so many hits. And he was sacked so many times, and some of it was him hanging onto the ball too long. But instead of serving the field, Carson Wentz was always a red defense's got the line of scrimmage. Red defense has changed place or whatever was always thought to be a very intelligent quarterback. You saw none of that this year because he wasn't seeing the field, so he snaps the ball. He's in shotgun. Is wide receivers aren't getting separation. They're having a problem scheming wide receivers open even if they get open. He's more worried about looking at the rush because he's taken so many shots, and you've seen the same thing with Jared Goff. And you can't have that You gotta be able to maneuver around in the pocket. You can't be looking at the rush. But that's what happened. The Carson Wentz this year it's not an excuse. It's an explanation on how he could have been turned to be so bad. I don't know. The last quarterback that has went from Yeah, He's one of the good young quarterbacks in the league and he's an all pro type quarterback to. He may not be in Philadelphia next year. His contract didn't even start yet. Is $128 million contract. It hasn't even started yet. It starts next year. They've paid $54 million. The Eagles that paid $54 million out in a signing bonus. And the contract hasn't even started yet, And the talk is that they may move on in the off season just to try to get a draft pick. A second round draft because he's been that bad. It's unbelievable. Jared golf, You see what makes him a good quarterback. When he's a good quarterback. He's got a great throwing motion. He's a rhythm passer. If you keep him upright, and you make him leave him confident. In in the pocket. Man you could and trauma vacant scheme guys open. That's a really, really good offense right now. It's not a really good offense. It's bad, and it starts with our God, who, by the way, is not playing this week. Ava. Back up. You know who he is? The Canadian Football League quarterback. That's playing this week. So coarse and went to Jared Goff 12 in the 2016 draft and Hasn't necessarily worked out the way the team's thought It was gonna work it out. Although God has been that was Super Bowl, albeit they lost the Super Bowl because he was brutal in the Super Bowl, but he has been there was Super Bowl. All right, I know bull season. Is, um It was different this year, obviously with the pandemic and not having as many bowls as you once did, But bowl season is a lot of fun. Right Start sometime in December, and you have a lot of my Nikki Carr care bowls. Connor is that one of your favorite the Meineke car care bowl? You love the monkey. You always want to have some good car care, And it's good to have reminder in the bowl game. You know you need the reminder Ex. Otherwise what? We just too Might just never get your oil changed, or they the little Caesars Pizza Bowl. You know what I'm talking about. There's been a lot of different balls that have come and gone throughout the years. Well this year, I was surprised to hear I didn't mean just the first year for it. I didn't do a lot of a lot of research on it. Duke's Mayo Bowl. And to where they literally like they had. They had like the logo for it was a squeeze bottle mail. So like I'm not I'm not a big fan of Mayo Connor. I like a little light Mayo on on a sandwich. Or as we call here in Philadelphia, who? G if it's a turkey hoagie or roast beef hoagie. I don't know. Turkey Club. I'll have some Mayo light. May I don't like the extra Mayo. Actually, I prefer miracle Whip you ever have miracle Whip Connor? I never have no I'm again. I'm not a very adventurous eater. You're not. No, you're not. You said that Well, Miracle Whip, I think is a sweeter mayo. It Z mayo with sugar in it. I believe so I always like that growing up with on turkey sandwiches. But anyway, But I would actually I'm a big catch up fan. I put ketchup on everything like you said with the cheeseburgers. You put ketchup on that I put ketchup on pretty much anything. So I would prefer a catch up Condiment bowl rather than a Mayo Bowl and a mustard bull. I don't know if I need a mustard ball either. Do you really need a Golden's Bowl? Or French is mustard ball with a French mustard bottle as the trophy I don't think so. Right, But so so who? Even who? Even one that the, uh Mayo Bull, the Duke's Mayo ball, I forget. All I know is that the winner dropped the trophy and it was this. It was like this crystal football trophy, and they were on instagram video taping them dancing. And they drop it and it goes in 1000 pieces. On the ground. It was amazing not to be outdone by by the cheese it Bull Connor and I like Cheez its I'm a cheese had fan right like cheese. That's a good They're versatile. You can have him with your eating cheese. I guess they're good is just a regular snack. My kids like cheese. It's one of the staples that we go to. But I don't know this. We know if I need a cheese it pull, but I actually have I have a good idea for college football. His earlier today I was I was lobbying for The for an expanded playoff, and I know millions of people have said that in college football expanded plans, You know, millions of people have said that so it's not you. It's not unique, but it s so I'm gonna get my foot back into another idea for college football. Right, like, how about they do the liquid plumber Toilet bowl? Next year and going forward. So instead of getting the good teams right because anybody can find a six win team and put him in this in this crappy bowl, wherever And they haven't played another mediocre team and they can play it. But when was the last time there was a bull with two really, really bad teams? And that's what you would have the liquid plumber Toilet bowl. Get two of the worst teams in the nation, if not the two worst teams in the nation. You let him play for it, and the loser wins the liquid Plumber Toilet Bowl trophy, so you don't want to win the trophy. You want to win to not be the worst team in the league. I mean, frankly, I would write. I would watch that over the Cheez its bowl. The Dark's Mayo Bull..

"Carson Wentz, and it's not an easy answer, and I don't think it's just one thing. The last quarterback that is went from Yeah, He's one of the good young quarterbacks in the league and he's an all pro type quarterback to. He may not be in Philadelphia next year. His contract didn't even start yet. Here's $128 million contract. It hasn't even started yet. It starts next year. They've paid $54 million. The Eagles have paid $54 million out in a signing bonus, and the contract hasn't even started yet, And the talk is that they may move on in the off season just to try to get a draft pick. The second round draft because he's been that bad. It's unbelievable. Jared golf, You see what makes him a good quarterback. When he's a good quarterback. He's got a great throwing motion. He's a rhythm passer. If you keep him upright, and you make him leave him confident. In in the pocket. Man you could and trauma bacon scheme guys open. That's a really, really good offense right now. It's not a really good offense. It's bad, and it starts with our God, who, by the way, is not playing this week. Table back up. You know who he is? The Canadian Football League quarterback that's playing this week. Is, um It was different this year, obviously with the pandemic and not having his many bowls as you once did, But bowl season is a lot of fun. Right Start sometime in December, and you have a lot of my Nikki Carr care bowls. Connor is that one of your favorite the Meineke car Care bowl? You love the mic. You always want to have some good car care, And it's good to have reminder in the bowl game. You know, you think that reminded us otherwise? "Apparently Trump is the authoritarian Lincoln Project suggests that this is an absolute moral battle and absolute moral battle. And if you come in on the wrong side, then we know that you are damned to hell. They I mean, listen to this. See, none of us can choose history. History chooses us. If you ever wondered what side of the Edmund Pettus Bridge you would have stood on this is your chance to choose. Don't you see Donald Trump is Bull Connor, the Republicans people like Susan Collins in Maine and joining Johnston, Iowa. These are all Bull Connor's. All you have to do is vote Democrat. You will exercise the demons of the United States Now, weirdly enough Americans bought into this garbage in 2008. When great light bringer Obama came about and it turns out, none of the demons were exercised. It turns out that when you lead a cult when you have substituted politics for religion Then you can never allow the grift to end at that point. You can't just say Oh, well, you know, the light has been brought. Guess we're done here. It has to be. No, no, no, no, no. The devil still lurks in cosseted corners. The devil's still lurks just in the shadows. And so if you give me more power if you give me more money If you give me more ability to control your life, then we'll certainly hunt out the devil were always just this far away from hunting out the devil. The Lincoln Project Grifters. They're treating this as not just a political battle that is important and has ramifications for the future of the country, but as an absolute moral conflict. They say those who went before faced dogs and fire hoses. And yet they did not flinch in war in peace. Americans have displayed unparalleled courage in the face of evil and injustice. It doesn't take courage to stand up to trump. It takes courage to stand up for your country. This is the legacy we inherited and are called to defend. This is the choice America or Trump. Now is the time to stand with the country you love. Okay. I'm sorry. That's insane. That's crazy. And the natural corollary of this is that people who disagree with you are not human beings. They're not Americans, people who disagree with your absolute members of evil. They're they're brown shirts and brownshirts deserved to be punch and naturally see this corollary..

The March ON Washington, 57 Years Later

"Hello I'm Deborah Roberts those images from today an echo of something fifty seven years ago when a quarter of a million people I descended on the nation's capital protesting for jobs and freedom. On today's anniversary of Dr Martin Luther. King Junior's I have a dream speech we at twenty twenty or proud to present the march a documentary directed by Jonah Comfort and narrated by Denzel Washington originally made in twenty thirteen to commemorate the Marches Fiftieth Anniversary. Some of those voices sadly are now gone, but their legacy lives on. I have had to tell my children about the segregates what it means. Seven year old daughter she wanted to go from town. And we found it necessary to explain to That she couldn't go to fun town because she was colored. To attempt to explain a system like unjust and. Segregation. Six year old child is very difficult thing. In nineteen sixty three. The Movement for civil rights came to the most segregated city in the American. South. Birmingham Alabama. All. Resistant to the gration. Thoroughly, segregated. City the United States. had. More on saw on. WILL HOMES ENSURE A. United. States. Many other southern city. Okay. Birmingham is bombing him. They have quarries and conducting the quarry business you used dynamite. So there are a lot of local people who are expert in Isa Dynamic. Teenage. Board riding a bicycle had been knocked off the bike and castrated. Young couple had gone to the City Hall to get a wedding license. Came around the corner. And Brush shoulders with Birmingham policeman and he pulled out his pistol and pistol whipped the more to the ground. It was a horrible heinous place. The campaign was to be led by the organisation's Ben Thirty four year old leader. The Reverend Dr Martin Luther King Junior. WHO HEARD PEOPLE? who except in dusted oppression and second-class citizenship. in an attempt waiting go the Paul Pompidou. The time all we ripe to do right. Dr King was the voice of Civil Rights from the bus boycott on but by the end of nineteen, sixty, two, he recognized. That the civil rights movement. was. Losing what he called its window and history. The. South was still segregated and he said we need to take more of a risk. We need to go for broke I need to go for broke. I think he felt that. We have to be willing to give our lives to put an end to segregation. If we do. Then segregation will end even if we die. That was the reason he chose. Birmingham. For the victory won some even have to face physical death. We must come to see the now some things. So eternally true that they're worth dying for, and if a man has not discovered something that he will die for he fit live. In January of Nineteen, sixty three. One man was determined to stop kings desegregation message from spreading any further. Birmingham's police chief Eugene. Bull Connor. Negro is off the attempted takeover of our country the lazy. The beat nate, the ignorant and buy some misguided religious and bleeding ought. Do, you think you can keep coming in the present situation of segregation I may not be able to do it, but I'll die trying. Overcoming Bull Connor segregationists zeal not to mention his jails would take something special. And in the winter of sixty, three king would find out just how special that effort needed to be. Spent all of January February and March nineteen sixty three training people to accept nonviolence to go down into marches and be willing to go into bull connor's jails. But. Conner's jails were so fearsome that no matter how much they exhorted people no matter how many freedom songs they sang, how many prayers they prayed, how much fervor there was in the meetings, people wouldn't show up to risk going into those jails.

Obama urges Americans to honor John Lewis' legacy by voting

"For the funeral of Congressman John Lewis rose to its feet with an up roar of applause during a eulogy from former President Barack Obama. Mr Obama talked about the selfless sacrifice of the civil rights leader and that the voting rights he fought for our under siege by President Trump, who's floating the idea of delaying the election. Joining us live to talk about CBS analyst Leonard Steinhorn. Great to have you, Leonard? Happy to be here so to other presidents were on hand. But it was poor former President Obama, who offered this impassioned defense of democratic ideals that he says are being threatened. He's been more outspoken, but not like this. Can you talk about it? Look essentially what President Obama was saying is, if we wanna honor John Lewis's legacy, truly honor it. We need to finish the work of John Lewis's lifetime. Which is to ensure voting rights, for all with no obstacles in anyone's way and in effect. What he did with his rhetoric is he entered the political fray not directly not through partisan attacks, but with clear and pointed assaults on those Particularly Republicans, who were doing exactly what John Lewis fought against all of his life, which is to undermine the voting rights of the American people, So he did it through lofty and impassioned rhetoric. But his message was clear. He was definitely part former president and part preacher today, talking about the protests as well, something that Louis energized in his day is a civil rights leader, nearly losing his life in the fight. Can you characterize what Mr Obama said, and its relevance at this moment in history? So, in essence, what President Obama did was draw a straight line from Bloody Sunday on the Edmund Pettus Bridge from Bull Connor in Birmingham. ER, George Wallace. The black lives matter. And the civil rights struggles of today are voting rights struggles of today. So you know, he basically said Bull Connor may be gone, But today we witness with our own eyes, police officers. Kneeling on the next of black Americans. George Wallace may be gone. But then, he said he worries about the federal government's sending agents to use tear gas and batons against peaceful demonstrators. Clearly referencing what happened in Lafayette Square when President Trump wanted to go to the church and hold up his Bible. So he drew a straight line from John Lewis in the 19 sixties tow what's happening today, and clearly, that was a strong message that this next generation now has to take the torch. And continue on with the fight that John Lewis began when he was just Ah, young, a young man in 1960 CBS News political analyst Leonard Steinhorn Thanks so much for being here. Thanks Always. By the
