"bugs bunny" Discussed on National Day Calendar

"Welcome to April 30th, 2023 in the national day calendar. Today we celebrate special pets, and rare hairs. Audrey Hepburn was one of the first celebrities to go everywhere in public with her dog. Mister famous, her Yorkshire terrier was along for photo shoots in Hollywood events. This wasn't common practice at the time, and it helped make pets seem more like family. When asked why her dog was always with her? Hepburn said, I walk my dog to keep me fit. I talked to my dog, which keeps me sane. Pet parents everywhere can likely relate. There's nothing quite like a furry friend to make you feel better at the end of a long day. On national pet parents day, we celebrate the special bond between people and their pets. What's up Doc? Today we celebrate one of the most famous cartoon characters that was wabbit otherwise known as Bugs Bunny. Since his debut in the 1940s cartoon a wild hare, bugs has appeared in more films than any other animated character, and even has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Everyone knows and loves this wise guy rabbit with the Brooklyn accent, except of course for daffy duck and Elmer fudd. These guys are off plotting revenge for being the butt of all his jokes, or maybe they're just jealous that they don't have their own national days. Queue up some Looney Tunes and grab some carrots with a side of sarcasm, it's national Bugs Bunny day. Why don't I have my own national day? Let me catch you up. Let me shave your crop. They taught us classical music. I know, although I have never heard that tune, but oh, that's from the rabbit of Seville. Oh. Everything I knew about opera as a kid came from bugs. Fantastic. We just went and saw the Las Vegas symphony orchestra, due to the Bugs Bunny stuff. Oh, really? It was so cool. I'm Anna deavere. I'm Marlo Anderson. Thanks for joining us as we celebrate every day. See you tomorrow.

"Welcome to April 30th, 2022 in the national day calendar. Today we celebrate healthy treats and wap it. It seems there's an oddball in every group. Marlo, even when it comes to cookies, people go crazy for chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. Yeah, but that's not the case for oatmeal cookies. I like oatmeal cookies. While you're the oddball, some people turn up their noses at the very idea, but come on, you get to eat your sweets and something healthy at the same time. How many desserts can make that claim? On national oatmeal cookie day celebrate heaven, your cookie and your good health too. And I would also like to point out that its national raisin day can't these guys like team up, are there really kids in the corner with a box of raisins celebrating raisin day? Sounds like a mom made this thing up. Anna. What's up, Doc? Today we celebrate one of the most famous cartoon characters that was wabbit, otherwise known as Bugs Bunny. Since his debut in the 1940s cartoon, a wild hare, bugs has appeared in more films than any other animated character, and even has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Queue up some Looney Tunes and grab some carrots with the side of sarcasm. It's national Bugs Bunny day. And how would you even celebrate Elmer FUD day? Come on guys. It's wabbit season. Okay, I'll be very quiet. That's how we celebrate duck season. Fire. Of course you know all the ones. So kinds of ways to celebrate this day. Let me cut you. I learned classical music through these guys. So did I. I'm Anna deavere. I'm Marlo Anderson. Thanks for joining us as we celebrate every day. See you tomorrow.

"Talking about how there's gonna be bosses just like in the open, the overworld and there's dungeons that you go inside of the target specific things. So I think really when it comes down to for me it's gonna come down to like how much customization am I gonna have for my character and different builds. I'll be able to make. This is the first bulls born game I've seen, we're actually being a mage and using magic seems like really cool compared to the others. I've never been fascinated with. I've been more like, I like to play dark souls like a Berserk, like how to like guts plays, like a big broadsword or whatever it is, but this one actually has the kind of interested of trying magic out. So what's the outlook? We'll see how it goes. For me, I mean, I wouldn't say I'm a huge dark souls. I'm hardcore dark souls, player, whatever it is, but I'm not like sekiro. I'm still praying for that bloodborne PC one day, you know, one day we'll get it. But, you know, I agree. I'm definitely anticipating it, but it's hard for me to give an opinion until I can see more actually play it. I straight up. I'm excited with G four staff. I said, don't put me on that fucking game when it comes to. They should definitely put you on because. I'll never beat it. I'll show you this. Clean up the chat, right? Fucking. I demand the black hokage. No, no, no, stick to the status quo. No, no. I'm the Call of Duty guy. Remember. We're gonna show your diversity of your palate and make you play a hard man. Here's another thing you gotta take into consideration too, fucking February is stacked with game releases in this game's gonna be hard as shit. You can play destiny two. Fuck no Rhett. Let's look at February game releasing. You gonna play horizon? Yeah, oh, what? Absolutely. After that ending in horizon one, absolutely. Yeah, that's I mean, so dying light too. We already looked it up before you go. That's absolutely the fourth Sifu is the one that absolutely. I got invited to play that shit. And horizon on the 18th. Andy, not gonna talk about it. Saints no thanks bro never mind. And I'll say throw it in that coming out. So that's all as far as what you're going to play. We're not going to be early access to play seafood, not going to talk about it. Yeah, no, yeah. Yeah, right, right. You know, I got invited. I didn't even answer the email back. I got invited to play it. I don't know when the event is getting. I just remember you saying that remember I need to respond to the email. You better respond to that. For sure. But yeah, it's February is stacked in terms of new game releases. Dynasty warriors 9 empires nigga? What? It's all y'all. Y'all want another musu fighter? But yeah, so let's keep an eye on elder ring. That comes out in February. A game that came out of nowhere that just got revealed the other day is called multiverses, which I think is a clever name, by the way. It's a new party brawler from WB, basically it's like smash Bros, but it's WB based character, so from the reveal trailer they got like Batman Wonder Woman Bugs Bunny, Steven universe, Harley Quinn's in there. I think they got somebody from I was gonna say Lord of the Rings, not loads of things. But game of the Thrones, aria think I named Arias. Yeah, it's a bunch of just different worlds mashing together and with the reason I'm kind of excited about this because first of all the game looks like it runs like fluidly compared to that Nickelodeon game. The Nickelodeon game I was kind of excited about, I was like, okay, Nickelodeon's got a vast number of characters. But I wasn't familiar with the studio where they're doing. But with this game, I'm actually a little bit excited because they announced a bunch of things first is going to be cross play between all platforms is going to be free to play. And then they also said that they're net code is a priority. They didn't confirm whether or not it's going to be rollback, but a lot of people are suspecting that it's going to be that. And then they're introducing some new mechanics in there where your moves are like co op base so like one person can use one person's moves and you can move through the environment like that to attack people. So there's gonna be like a certain level like co op between the different attacks. That's pretty cool. I haven't seen that before. They're just trying a nice little things or the animations are better. And the fact that they have The WB license, like people don't understand how we could get the ranger in this bitch, bro like fucking shadow war. From shadow of war. Where's the secret of that? I'm pretty sure they have to be working on it. There's so many characters that WD owns. I feel like this has the potential to have a great walker. Yeah. That would be fucking heat, right? They see him spawn with killer brim boys, all that could be gas. Like Batman threw down his smoke and I guess it like hides the characters in like your team can hop into it and shit like that. Just sing that nice little not a smash clone. Yeah, it's not a clone. I try and think. I like that they're trying something smashes never trial, which is like actually making where there's a synergy in interaction. That's the word I was looking for. A synergy between the characters. Yeah. That's what I like. I think that's really cool. It makes it stand out from just being always just Matt like no, it's way more way more stuff to it. I think it was really cool. And then I saw like I was in the trailer I saw they're gonna have like daily challenges. I don't know if there's gonna be a battle pass, but there's certain things that are gonna be in the game that's gonna entice you to stay in the game to unlock skins and other stuff. It's like all The WB license, right? Like everything in The WB one. Yeah, anything in The WB world, I think can be in that Harry Potter could be in this idea. Dune could be in this, they could pull in this, they could put The Suicide Squad and wow. They could put Godzilla in this. Yeah, all the D.C. characters could be in here. Black Holmes could be huge. Yeah, they have a lot of potential and then it has voice acting in it unlike the Nintendo game. And they got the actual voice actors. Yeah, they could put nature. Look at this shit. Your mind's getting blown out. No, I just Googled WB movies Blade Runner. Oh my gosh. And look at the I was like, I feel like they're not getting enough credit. I'm like, yo, that name low key is fucking clever, multiverses versus games. And it's a multi and it's the multiverse. That shit is a double entendre. It could be crazy. So I was like, okay. And it's gonna be fun. I ain't gonna lie, soccer I bro you might have to come out of retirement, bro this might be a banger. And like for the longest, I feel like smash Bros has never had a proper competitor. The closest the closest we've seen in my opinion is that they can shut up. The motherboard. The closest we've seen to a proper competitors management is probably brought hala and that it has a niche audience and they do tournaments and stuff, but I think the problem with Rahal is it was an original IP that doesn't have that star powered WB has that star power and the one behind it. Yeah, so I was like, I could see them totally pulling out like Hermione and fucking Harry from Harry Potter. That shit would grab so many people. Oh, should we got play this shit? It could put the iron giant in this bitch? Oh yeah, no, this dish could definitely give smash a run for his money. Just the IPs power you have. I've been waiting for that popper apart. Okay. Yeah, it's crazy bro because we literally are talking about, you know, shooter gay, like all these shooters around. Yeah, that's all these party games are coming out to the computer with my ass brothers like this is really crazy because I don't think sora can save them from this. This is this big for The Hobbit in here? When I saw Batman versus Bugs Bunny, I was like, I never knew I needed to see it. That was kind of cool. It is creating this game came out of nowhere too. Like, how long y'all been working on this? Even when Nickelodeon even though yesterday at this time, the thing with that Nickelodeon trailer, though, like when they first revealed that I was like, I was a little excited because it was Nickelodeon characters, but I was still kind of skeptical because the animations looked a little rough, but then they just kind of dropped like a gameplay trailer. That multiverse trailer, it was like a three, four minute trailer with a developer stood there and explained what was new and it felt like a labor of love. It didn't seem like a cash grab. Yeah, it looks like they knew what they were doing, bro, they were saying when this.

While you don't have to say as if you're part of the show you can just say it's ten episode mini series and whatever. That's too simple. I'll okay over the garden. Law is american animated. Television miniseries created by patrick mchale for cartoon network series centers on two half brothers who travel across a mysterious forest to find their way home encountering variety of strange and fantastic things on their journey. The show is based on. Mikhail's animated short fill thome of the unknown which was produced. So over the garden wall is something that i have known that you've been a fan of i have seen other people be fans of the show. I have seen it in our zeitgeist of friends and people we interact with. I have seen a lot of girls really obsessed with this show that also love banks and big glasses. I i it it but it always seemed like something that like. I would get to someday some guy we finally watched it but going in i knew nothing about it except the picture of the main two kids that elijah wood voice the character. And that's all that's all. I knew that's literally everything. I didn't know anything else. When you told me it was spooky. I was like really okay and then i sit down and then i start watching the show and immediately. I'm like what the fuck is. We got paid to fucking kids in the woods and the show starts off where they they're like. Oh we're lost okay. And i'm like lost from where this is dumb. Why you lost the but whatever okay fine. We're two loss kids to discover the things that are unknown right away before we even get to that before we even get to that the tone and pastiche. The show are so wildly different than anything. I have a really long so interesting. Feels simultaneously modern but old. That's almost like older like looney tunes. Before looney tunes like to us before the bugs bunny's and the the the that daffy duck's like it was going at where you're like almost like Almost like cup head is china like invoke those. I don't know the terms of the animation style like of the era's but it almost has these like it also. Has that feel like that. Old disney movie like willie told the two toed. Yes yes. I like that kind of older. Like forty s fifties sixties..

Scott, As you see the first place Tampa Bay Rays, despite losing they built up such a big lead in the American League is that there's still way out in front. This is, uh, interesting. One little meme here earlier today. Most came from Paul Kitchen. Your earlier today I saw a bumper sticker that said, I'm a veterinarian. Therefore, I can drive like an animal. And suddenly I realized how many proctologists are on the roads. I think dr like a a hole or something like that. That's pretty good one. Not bad. The other day I was driving to Orlando, and I don't know what they were doing in their truck. But this guy spilled a bunch of Scrabble tiles out of his truck. So I looked at him and I was like, dude, What's the word on the street? Yeah, you did not go. Where do you get that one? I don't know. Fantastic. Google like last was really good. Definitely so I was gonna say it's my kind of guy. He's got Scrabble in the car is my favorite game. There. You will. I might as well past this one along from been Ritter. Here you've influenced him is an oldie. An army wife and a Navy wife attended the annual Army Navy football game together. Where they had excellent 50 yard seats. And it was the first time the Navy wife had ever seen a football game. And after the game, the Army wife asked the Navy wife so How did you like the game? And the Navy wife said. I really liked it, but something was kind of weird. I couldn't understand why they kept slamming each other over 25 cents. And puzzled the Army wife said. 25 cents. What do you mean? Yeah, the 25 Cent coins, said the Navy wife. They had a coin toss before the game got started. And then all during the game, All you heard was get quarterback yet the quarterback Mhm. I get it like that. When I get, I just can't bring myself to laugh at it. I'm laughing at up bad is Katie's Whatever, Wherever you got that Katie was great, because it was short. It was sweet. It wasn't drawn out and right to the punch line, And it's like, Oh, that was a joke. That was funny that one Who is that from? That's been writer and reader man, Ben. Bad you can do better than that. Well, he and George Karl continue to compete to see who can come up with the worst ones. Take some tips from Katie on your joke game. She's got it down. I'll have to pass it along to her first, and we got triple a gas prices. And by the way, prices went way up overnight. Down here on Gandhi at our stations, they went from a dollar. Are 2 93 to 309. I think I'll show on a couple of Places, but Uh, in the Tampa Bay area. This is from Let's see. It would be a day before yesterday and When this one was taken from Triple A, but Current average it to 94 again. It's up to 309 on Gandhi. And that was a half cent more than the day before. And it was Five cents less than The week before. And four cents less than a month before. And it was 78 cents more than it was a year ago. Year ago. Gas prices are only about 2 16. I can't even remember that. But that sounds good. And Well, let's see the Well doesn't matter enough of that. Anyway. It's 8 20. Let's check in.

"Call us. Hey, whether you're buying selling trading, leasing fixing old cars, new cars, it doesn't matter. We love to talk about cars. If you got a question if you got a problem if you got a cool story we love those to give us a call. 8666 10 63978666 10. 6397 Well, there's a car up for auction, and I think it ends today if I if I read the article correctly. Um It's a 1970. Excuse me, Uh, Chevy Nova in what they call number one Concord Edition, which means Mint, mint, mint, mint, mint mint mint. Um, previously owned by Eddie Van Halen. Oh, that's cool. I don't know if he was the last owner. But it was at one at least at one time. Owned by Eddie Van Haven, Helen. It's uh, orange with black trim. Of very cool looking car. And as of like Wednesday The bid was only up to 60 Grand. Wow. Which With the way things you know, with other cars we've seen, you know, from celebrities over. I believe it's over today. Okay? It may crank up at the end. Yeah. But you know that car carries a value of like 25. Yep. So it's already almost tripled. Because it was his and the condition It's in. But I just think that's I think it's going to end up going for a lot more than that. Usually, uh, the real buyers. They're not even in and they're not going to waste their time. They're just sitting and waiting for it. Uh, yeah, its on bring a trailer. Oh, wow. Which is, uh oh, it's being sold by Eddie's nephew. Cool. So he did is he is the last owner. Cool. Um Bring a trailer school. They got a lot of stuff on there. It's kind of new. You know, It's good deals. Yeah, it's fairly new Last couple of years. Yeah. Classic weird stuff on it. You know, like they Stuff you may not find elsewhere, you know? That's what's cool about it. Yeah. Yeah, I like that. Ferrari. They put a pickup bed on. I think that was on. Bring a trailer weird. It's all weird stuff. When we look at that everywhere I go to that side every once in a while, a lot of weird stuff on there. Speaking of weird stuff. They just named a footbridge over the four or five in Portland, Oregon. Uh, Ned Flanders Crossing Heidi Ho, neighbor. Hey, um, you know, Portland stay weird. Portland. Um, they named it after you know, Homer Simpson's neighbor. It's a 200 ft Foot crossing for pedestrians and cyclists only, and it goes over I four or five And you know They named it after Ned Flanders. High school. Yeah, it had to And you know anything named acne has, you know gone down in history Because of the coyote GIs Lee I used to love I love that was my favorite show. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. The, uh, poor Wiley Coyote. You know, couldn't buy a break. Yeah. You know, we'll be really need talking about the, uh, the sites. Like I'll bring a trailer eBay that you get to see a lot of cars being sold. It will be nice to know just like like like a home like a house that you will get to see what the car actually sold for. Because I think most of the prices that are advertised there completely blown out of proportion. And I don't believe people are actually paying those prices. It would be neat to see. What the actual selling price of that car It was well. A lot of the prices that I've been that I quote on here come from, you know Barrett Jackson and Make, um and you know stuff like that. Um And you know the bid the auction sites like, bring a trailer and you know eBay. You never know. Never know. You never know. I mean, you can do this only said that the story I just read It only said what the bid was up to. At the time. That story was written. Um, but, you know, with Barrett Jackson and me come, you know where most of these cars that we've been talking about, you know, have have gone across the auction block or are going across the auction block this month later in Vegas. Um, I want those you can confirm. I wonder if they have a way that you could actually go in there and the history of the cars that have been sold. And for how much? I don't know. Maybe we need to see you know, Check it out. Um I'm sure I mean,.

The Medical Establishment Are Guilty of Causing Confusion With Mistruths

"The medical establishment has been so confused over the last year and a half and their messaging has been so confusing. That people don't know whom to trust and is it any wonder that there are so many people saying you've got to get the vaccine and other people saying you must get the vaccine. I have to say. I blame the medical establishment and the government. Of course they have been incredibly sloppy. They undermined their authority to the extent that half the country doesn't take them seriously. Part of that is the pathological lying et. anthony found. She has been the lying. He lied about whether she wear masks. "What do you do, and they just really are like I just I just don't drink too much. I don't smoke I exercise and I just really enjoy life. And and it shows it shows what that my mother used to say to me. You see this gray hair You gave it to me. That's what she told me. Always so Oh, I'm not saying I was a stressful kid or anything, but, um, anyway, fatigue is a common concern that comes with age. We all worry about getting enough sleep or getting up multiple times during the night. So fatigue is a factor. So how does rescue Oracene and rescue renew you naturally help us to boost energy. Well, remember the rescue renew you contains two of the active ingredients in the arresting Oracene came out 1st 14 has been out for a good number of years. And I know Dr Shapiro talks a lot about it. But the Oracene contains the magnesium orientate. Um and the innocent now, of course, it continues a much higher dose. Of the inner scene and the magnesium orientate, then the renew you but and that's why you can take both of them. So I take the rescue or seen and I also take the renew view. Because I know that the ref you are seeing is very, very important for my heart for the health of my heart it lower it can help lower your blood pressure. Naturally, it reduces irregular rhythms and palpitations and many many many years ago probably about 15 plus years ago. I woke up in the morning and I felt like Bugs Bunny was hitting the speed bag in my chest. And I said to my wife, I said, I don't feel or something's not right. So I drove into the hospital. I was I was I had my normal day and I said to my partner, Sonny, my heart's going really fast. And he thought my poles and says she's you better get to the ER. Went to ER and they found out I was in atrial fibrillation was like what's going on here? I'm a I'm a young, you know, healthy, um, healthy guy. Why am I in a said, Well, you know, I did have issues with caffeine and And but but even that, you know, my point is it's the most atrial tribulation is one of the if not the most. Prominent arrhythmia. It's that people have or can get, and something like the Oracene. So long story short I went in the hospital. I was admitted. I was cardioverter. Uh And then I stopped all caffeine used to chew tobacco because I was a baseball player not to say that they occur. But in college, I chewed a lot of tobacco, which is not good for you, and I don't recommend it. But quit cold turkey that day. Quit everything. Cold turkey caffeine, no chocolate. Um, no, um, caffeine and, of course, no nicotine, and I never went back into it after that, but Very shortly after that. That's when I kind of got into the, um this company and I found out about the Oracene and I was taking the or seen and I started taking the Oracene and I've been taking it ever since. And I do feel strongly believe that that's one of the reasons why I haven't gone back into HL fibrillation. Uh and I take it religiously twice a day. So again, now back to er, often me and back to the regular stuff, so reduces a regular rhythms and palpitations. Like I said. The scene also helps with fatigue and increases. Famine in went over this earlier, the fact that the Oracene helps maximize our body's ability to produce ATP. Which is which is a dentist trade policy, which is the power packets or gasoline for ourselves. Uh, and that's why it really helps with exercise tolerance. And I use the analogy the first time you take the law more out of the shed in the spring. You know when you press the starter, you know you fill it with gas. You press the starter at the start of the automatic story doesn't work. Then you have to pull it. You know the polls start and you pull and you're pulling. You're pulling your pool. And after the 10th or 11th pull this white smoke spits out the back of it, and it just starts up. Um, But then the more you use it, you know, get a get a check up for it. But the more you use it. Next time you only have to pull it five times and then the following time. Guess what? Oh, the starter works now, um, because you're using it. Well, the same thing happens when we don't exercise. You know, getting that first You know, a couple days of exercise is really tough. And that's where the Oracene comes in. The Oracene is kind of like the primer on your on your a tractor or your push mower. You press the primary couple times, and that helps With getting it started. Well, you know, look at the or is seen as kind of a primer for exercise and you know, that's why it's great that it's also in the renew you But I would also definitely advise trying the rescuers. And again if you have a question about any rescue, natural supplement, or about aging or any other medical concern that we can address through nutraceuticals here on the show, Dr Levy and I'll be here for another 10 minutes. Okay? So, there are off and Looney Tunes and Star Wars, and all these different and he collects different versions of them. I was like, that's his I will never be part and parcel of birth And then I saw a very cool. I think it was was the first one. I liked it was The Bugs, Bunny. One was the first one I liked and so now I'm staring at nine cars. I know have in my collection. This is your own. Okay, I have a weird tiny collection that I was like, well, he has all these if I wanted to change their doubles. It's not like he doesn't have his own bug spray car and then I will look for him when I'm on the road at different cars and I brought one that I knew he didn't want that. I want it. That's just, it's very Savvy. Yeah, David Reese is if Fred Flintstone. Oh yeah. Totally. Wow, neat. Car that Fred Flintstone, dump truck would be that capture something about him. It made me made me laugh and and then I, yeah, and those dead. And then that's the perfect example because I also said that I would never buy a large one, because I would only buy normal sized Wells with that. This car was introduced into my life and it is, if we need the Pooh was it was a cement mixer, a cement mixer that had honey. Are these officially licensed? Yes, they really. Yeah. They are such a weird idea, such a specific idea. So specific. What if we need, the Pooh subnet truck? I never would have thought of that. It's, that's kind of the greatest thing about the cars is the amount of thought goes? Yeah, yeah. Like there's five different Han Solo cars. Oh, in each one of them is a different outfit of his including the Carbonite. So they're all right. What kind of car is that? That's just a it's super flat. Yeah, I would imagine right and it looks like garbage. Yeah, just it's on Wheels anyway, it's better looking than you'd think, but I've digressed moved away from pedals but we are at we were at an hour. So I just want to say David Rees this. I've learned a lot really. Oh God, I'm cool. Yeah. And oftentimes with with musical episodes, I am left in the but this was Technical and I will learn something and and and it was musical. So I kind of feel like I've grown a little bit. Well, I appreciate that. You were very you were very nice. So let me come on and, and go on and on about this about about these pedals. It's my, it's my favorite. So everyone should know that we've been talking with David Rees, he has a podcast called election profit makers and, and a show on Hulu called dick down and thank you so much for doing the show. Thanks for having me. And Rangers. You know the rules out there, take care of each other. My hat, my hat, my hat. They're dancing around my hat. My hat, my hat, my hat. Well what do you think that if it looks like Mexican at it sounds like a Mexican Hat Dance. It's most likely a Mexican hat. So take up your head and let's dance. Why don't we just call that as the end of the show?.

Somebody's waiting outside the delivery for so andrew came across a paper in the journal. Frontiers in psychology which. I was so charmed by that. You've read as we can talk about it. It's called acquisition of a joystick operated video task by pigs. How could i forget for the listener. I'll just explain. These experiments were carried out at penn state university. There were four pigs. A pair of yorkshire pigs named hamlet an omelette and a pair of panna pinto micro pigs named ebony and ivory. I guess after stevie wonder and paul mccartney or the song of that name or after piano keys and the paper describes what the pigs were and were not able to learn in these experiments manipulating video game joystick with their snouts. And what i really want to know is tell us how it changes your thinking as a psychologist if it all about non human animals their capabilities. The way we should think about them perhaps differently about ourselves differently. Well thank you for broadening. My academic horizons. I would not have read this paper on video games and makes were it not for our friendship so i i will just say that when i read this line i literally laughed out loud after twelve weeks of training. Hamlet and omelette were terminated from the experiment because they had grown too large no fit within the constraints of the test pen. Academic research is tough. You lose fifty percent of your research pool just like that so anyway now down to two test subjects by the way. So one of my intuitions is that one ought not an. It makes zero sense for you to want to cancel. Ansell dr seuss than you would have to cancel endgame because who are we talking about when we mentioned disney right. A who are we talking about when we watch bugs bunny and we have space gems coming out. What are you like. What would you as you just want to be. A part of something just to say you're saying whatever you want to say with no type of criminals or or or or nuance of anything. We everyone knew that. Yeah the entire. The the fabric of america back then is the same now but you just gotta wash it out so all the coast. Kind of look the same. It's it's just it's it's the same reality you grew up seeing the whole like Like the pekingese. Like every every cartoon from tom and jerry. Don't cancel. that doesn't make any sense. Okay but why do you think. They're pulling the books. Why now. why now. It's because we're living in this era of cancel culture where they're most likely afraid to on some level be cancelled or boycotted or whatever. I don't want to say that everyone has bad motives. And i'm not trying to say that every business that pulls their own products for any reason it has any particular motive. But i think it it's it evidences. A Review Of The Long Walk, Chapters 9-18

"The long walk continues with only sixty. Walkers remaining geared is determined to make it to freeport or he'll see his mother and girlfriend jan more walkers get their tickets and the boys continue their discussions as physical and mental exhaustion weigh on them eventually. The long walk enters massachusetts and only three boys remain gary mic varieties and stebens. Only one will be the last walker standing but even so at what price victory. Nice day were in this section of the book and one of the things we talked about last episode is how we were a little disappointed that there wasn't a lot more world building going on yeah King seemed to be very vague as to what sort of relived these characters were in boys going on. We got the sense that things weren't great but not all of the details and in this one. There's a lot more of that world building we're looking for. Yeah it definitely satisfied my craving for those details. I still don't know that it was enough for my my modern sensibilities if you will I wanted to know what was going on. Outside of the walk and king still doesn't really reveal that but he gives us just a little bit more of a taste. Oh those are so delicious. Yeah each one of them is pretty great. The fact there's now thirty first day of april. Yeah that was the first one in this section. I was like whoa and you know. We talked about the dark tower. There were times early on. We're like boy. That's a weird little editing mistake. At first i thought well maybe april thirty. One is an editing mistake but then there were a couple more came shortly thereafter. That you're like. Oh kings doing something here. Yeah yeah there were fifty one states. When i saw that my immediate question was what is that fifty for state. I mean it could be anything is is it. Puerto rico is his canada. I don't know like it could be so many things it could be half of. Mexico is the fifty first state. It's not really important to the story. But it would be kinda cool to have one of those jr token style maps or like the the dark tower style maps that shows the world of the long walk and the path that they walk. Yep and then you can see like now. There's this you know. East pennsylvania and west pennsylvania. Yeah you're not even thinking big enough jay. Maybe like the western eight states all disappeared or were destroyed and so then they picked up nine states that we don't have today and not not just one new one. What do you think of that. Yeah or maybe california finally broke into five pieces. Resold alaska back to the russians for for a net total of one game state. Yeah and cut off. Florida like bugs. Bunny does in that. Famous jif yup. Yeah there were other interesting facts. That that Apparently there were german air raids on the east coast of the united states. And there's clearly has been some kind of takeover. The major seems to be the figurehead leader or commander of this Of the united states. So i'm guessing some sort of military coup but somebody says in the old days before the change and the squads when they were still millionaires like basically went before before a lot of wealth was redistributed to who knows who knows in what way but clearly this is not the world that king lived through when he was writing this story. Right the most intriguing one was this idea that world war two was different in how it played out so there's talks about german raids on the east coast. That occurred that people were afraid of and then later on they talk about the provo governor who is a war hero. He led a raid on a german nuclear base in santiago in nineteen fifty three. So yeah this is definitely not the world that is just hey our world bit in the future. This is a total man in the high castle. Style alternate reality or maybe even a father callahan like slipping through alternate versions of of the universe or of the of the world making this whole story. Kind of dark tower finney.

A new Legacy film stars LeBron James playing himself who has a young son Dong, who wants to become a game developer. They get trapped in a digital world by a rogue A I. And it's upto LeBron Bugs Bunny and the rest of the tune squad to get them out of there against the evil goon squad. It has also been reported that Space Jam, too, will have a slew of N B A and W NBA stars including Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis, Clay Thompson and Shinobu McKay. He also got a first look at the re imagines, Lola Bunny, filmmaker Malcolm Lee told Entertainment Weekly about the re fresh quote. It's important to reflect the authenticity of strong capable female characters also said that this film is a better movie than space jam. All right, let's go. Better than the original space jam. That is a lofty goal. I believe it when I see it. LeBron James, though, is not even on the best team in the NBA right now. As of right now, that title goes to the Utah Jazz. The Jazz are 27 9 on the season. The next best teams in the league have 24 wins, so it was probably odd for them, at least when the two jazz players who are reserved for the NBA All Star game, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert were picked dead last in the All Star draft by team captains LeBron James and Kevin Durant. James said it was because he never played as the Utah jazz and video games when he was younger. No shade. Though the Jazz is most recent game was a lost, however, to the Philadelphia 70. Sixers and things got heated on the court. Mitchell was injected with 30.5 seconds left in overtime. He smashed a cooler as he left the court. Both he and go bear had words for what they thought was bad officiating in that loss. They were then each fined for being critical of the rest. Mitchell $25,000 and go bare $20,000. All the drama. Remember when artist said today? Oh god. McKay was in Space Jam. She's also in this Ah, conversation with Rudy Gobert, as he reflects on the season and his legacy. First of all, we have a great group of guys. You know, Like, Like I just said, when you have a group of a guy that's willing to sacrifice for one another and do all the little things to make each other better. That's where i can't remember soothing between the trees and then when he winds up at the screen cap this when a winds up at the bottom of the foot with all the little. Who's all the candy canes. Yeah yeah the disproportionately size cames giant. When he's holding them but when they're holding them they'd look weird anyway. Yeah awesome about this. Is that all of the personality. And how the grinch stole christmas is in the grinch but he's also because you look at the who's they're kind of generic they don't have personality and the kind of move past the fact that he steals christmas because it's like it doesn't even occur to them that should ruin their holiday and that's what changes him. I think that's kind of cool and we'll get to how i think in the remake. Some of those points on why. That was so cool and the original. They kind of miss the point when they did the remake. Oh yeah go. He'll do a little bit more trivia on this. Boris karloff voice changes. When he speaks for the grinch he spoke in his narrator voice throughout the whole thing but after they recorded they removed all the highlights from his voice when he talked for the grinch and that turned to the gravel. The gravity voice at the grinch had something else i found funny and the trivia the to far who four zeh for a who four a. I didn't get that okay. Those were made to imitate classical latin. After it aired the studio started receiving letters asking for the translation from people who believe them to be really latin ice. And let's see doctor. Dr seuss thought that the grinch look like chuck jones. You know the Bugs bunny group. Bugs bunny Directed by chuck jones film Part of the warner brothers team. That did bugs bunny. And all that sort of thing you're going to be to be. That's all so which i think. Honestly the the animation this she's for nineteen sixty eight to sixty six. What i keep putting it. Yes yeah sixty six. It wasn't that great. No it was good. I mean there was a lot of. There's a lot of detail in a lot of character in the animation that you don't get it seems like you don't get any more in animation. I mean 'cause like you watch stuff like adventure time nowadays and they own. They seem to only use actual in more than six lines on character when they're trying to do something really ridiculous but you look at look at the grinch. Look at the photos on this. There's a lot of detail put into his facial structure. A lot of detail put into his his expressions and also the dog. Which named max. Avoid max max. The dog one incredible dog. Well he had a hell of a lot of character just by himself. I mean you're talking about who's being kind of generic. Grandstanding out himself was a standout character. Half human yeah. I laughed out loud. I totally forgot about the scene of the sled goes over him and he winds up in the back and shoulder like no you. Just i wound up here. But no max. Dog is fantastic Gr- i mean like like you said you'll he's a he is a character unto himself..

"bugs bunny" Discussed on Progressive Talk 1350 AM

"History. Part of the appeal for me is that villains give me a chance as a viewer to kind of indulge that part of my psyche that's tinged with darkness, but They do it in a way that's really fun and usually has tremendous style. And then of course you have your little spotted friends. Yes, Yes, I must say such perfectly beautiful coach. But I wanted to find out what people who work in and study animation. Think about what actually makes a villain a villain. First, I spoke with animation historian and Emory University professor at even Mueller. Okay, let's parse this just a little bit. Are we talking about a good villain in an animated short like a Bugs Bunny cartoon? Are we talking like Ursula, Uh, first one, then the other, Okay? A good villain in an animated short is really not the villain. Good villain in an animated short is more like the straight man in a two man crosstalk Act right? The villains were there. To unfold the hero's abilities. And you could look at a great like silent comedian like, say, a Charlie Chaplin, right? Charlie Chaplin was kind of a cartoon character. He's this little nimble guy, and so they paired him with, like big bruiser guys, and you just run circles around him so Villains in these shorts are never really scary. It's not like the deliverance hillbillies from hillbilly hair. Who Who are forced to engaged in non consensual square dancing. Bye. Another bugs and drag. I really don't think all the time about bugs dressed as a girl. I like sometimes think of other people dressed. This girl's um, um They're not really villains because they don't really menace bugs. Death is completely banished. From the world off Warner Brothers cartoons. The coyote can never eat the road runner. But that's okay because the coyote can also be accordion at the bottom of a cliff and be fine in the next shot. Which means that risk or peril, which is one of things that the villain brings in. That idea doesn't really attached to the comedy shorts. And I think that, for example, I think Elmer Fudd is Bugs Bunny's greatest foe. Because Off the visual contrast and he's such a hideous And bugs is so smart. I love Pete Puma, because I love that the voice mobile together Rabbit in his hole. I'm gonna catch up to you to Bob s o. I think in the in the shorts there aren't really villains. They're just victims because what you start messing with that boxing kangaroo who you think is a giant mouse, Sylvester. You're just going to get your clock cleaned. Tweety pie is sweetie pie, the victim? I don't think so. I think Tweety Pie is just messing with that. Can't I talk to that He before about how Elmer is no.

Bugs is a beloved cultural figure with relatively little political sway is it really in line with Americans interest for a gun lobby to be targeting him round the NRA certainly thinks. So while the organization has been weakened over the years due to lawsuits and falling public opinion they signal, they'll be devoting considerable resources to getting what they call a no. Good Rascal Rabbit here's mcdaniel. Again, if these sort of left distant imitation tactics prevail, we're looking at a future where government agents can just come to your home while you're sleeping and bend your gun into a youth shape or jammed the barrels with carrots coastal elites like bugs bunny may be okay with that outcome, but real Americans will never stand for it mercy. New Looney Tunes Series Hits HBO Max, With New Music

"Bugs Bunny is back white BJ Wiedemann, who does her theme music, The West Go a weapon in his pal Start anew. Looney Tune Siri's on HBO, Max. And it wouldn't be loony tunes with that loony tunes. The soundtrack album for the New Syriza's Out, Tim Grieving has the story. The new Looney Tunes still opens with that theme. They wouldn't dare change that, but everything that follows needed a new composer. There was certainly intimidating. Joshua Moshier is one of two composers for the new Looney Tunes. I Come at this from jazz background, and when you learn to play that music, you just embody the language of these musicians that you look up to. And so I really approached Carl stalling the same way Carl Stalling was the big goon of cartoon scoring. He started with silly symphonies at Disney, but he made his name a Warner brothers starting in the 19 thirties, where he scored more than 700 cartoons. Stalling applied. The same techniques had learned as an organist accompanying silent films reacting and improvising toe onscreen antics and using existing classical pieces and popular Theo Orchestra runs upstairs tiptoes and gets bonked on the head along with the characters no matter what you anyway, Don't you even know I already have one. John Powell is the Oscar nominated composer of animated features like How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda, Even though he's not part of the new Looney Tunes. He feels Carl Stallings influence so strongly that he uses a sort of Richter scale with directors that he calls the stalling number, You know. So if you say Okay, we only need a story number of two here. That basically means, you know, Tone it down. Don't hit things don't don't go for the musical juggler Calm down, but if madness and shoes in the cartoon world Why not have fun with it? So new Looney Tunes composer Joshua Moshe had some acne sized shoes to fill, and even though he's never scored a show like this before He's actually been preparing for a while. I was always experimenting with how could I do a Carl stalling kind of sound on my own, even going back to college, and I had some experiments that I found on old hard drive said. I threw together on a riel motion submitted that really in an open casting call and got the job. He recorded a full orchestra on the Warner Brothers lot for the 1st 2 cartoons, and for the rest, he had a chamber ensemble of six players at Capitol Studios. There's cartoons like the road runner. And the coyote where there's no dialogue, except for a few minutes. The first time I worked on with those It just looked like this big blank slate. But you realize oh, the dialogue is the music the coyote. His dialogue is below meandering soon. Road Runner, you know, we reference the classical piece dance of the comedians. Joshua motion has infused HBO Max's new Looney tunes with Carl stalling spirit and added some twists of his own like bebop, but the main thing he carried over from stalling Writing seriously funny music. What's so great about Looney Tunes is that they are caricatures, and it allows the music to be a caricature. It's just such a joy to me to participate. In the comedy in an overt way and be part of what's making people laugh. That's all folks for

HBO Max: we checked it out

"To in the past. It's not give us fifteen bucks. You'll get a whole new world of programming instead it's keep subscribing to the HBO now Streaming Service because we just gave it a face lift and made it a whole lot better. I'm Jefferson Graham. This is talking tech. Let me fill you in Max's. Hbo Plus Movies TV series and cartoons from the Warner Brothers Library. Classic Hollywood and Foreign Films From The T. C. M. Film Library original animation and more now. Hbo Now just got a whole lot better. And for me since I was already subscribing. I have more of a reason to keep it. I like the programming selection. You may like it too if you have an apple TV or google chrome cast streaming device in the house but if you're like most people and get your streaming the a Roku or Amazon fire TV streaming player while you're out of luck for now. At and T. Which owns Warner media? Didn't make a deal with either. So it's either fork over thirty five dollars for chrome cast a hundred and fifty dollars for the Apple. Tv device or watch. Max on one of the newer Sony or Samsung. Tv's here's what you're gonNA find. Hbo IS PROMOTING. Heavily the complete collection of friends and the Big Bang theory at the top of the front. Page the Harry Potter films and others from the Warner Brothers Library including man and wonder woman Max is broken up into several hubs. This includes looney tunes cartoons. Adult swim in the cartoon network. Hbo MTC 'em some hubs are better than others. T is fully featured with classics Galore. Like the wizard of Oz gone with the wind and I really love this. The Complete Charlie Chaplin Film Collection Cartoon Network has just a handful of series like the power puff girls and dexterous laboratory. But it's missing some key titles like Johnny Bravo and courage the cowardly dog unlike the recent Disney plus launch which had hundreds of vintage animation from the bolt along with four current titles. Max has many of the best of bugs bunny porky pig and gang including a duck amuck corny concerto in gorilla my dreams but a big emission at least on the first day is the greatest looney tunes cartoon ever made. What's Opera Doc the? Hbo Hub is basically HBO now with. Yes. Every episode of Game of thrones the Sopranos Kirby enthusiasm plus more. But if you're looking for something outside of those hubs navigation is tough for instance. Max promised classics from the Hanna Barbera Library like the Flintstones and the jetsons an episode of Conan from the TBS Library

Restaurant business is a labour of love

"A woman chef a New Orleans in United States has been telling you a news how the restaurant business business and cooking in particular has been a lifelong labor of love for her Roseanne Rosta. Kerr decided she wanted to be a chef at age fourteen and ultimately opened her own restaurant nine years ago she spoke to the International Labor Organization as part of a photography project to mark the the centenary of the establishment of the UN agency. The project called dignity at work. The American experience documents the working life of people across the the United States Kevin Cassidy the director of the Eiloz Office for the. US sat down with a following a busy shift at her restaurant. Red gravy in in New Orleans. We moved here in two thousand and ten my boyfriend and I and he gave up his law practice to down here and do this with me. I always wanted a restaurant some time I was ten years old. My mom had gone back to work. It was nineteen seventy two and prior to that it. It was a one income family. My father worked. My mother was home. Become you know the seventies you wanted things. It was time for the MOMS to go to work and she did. I had an older brother who was baseball. Football paper route all that that kept him out of the house younger sister that I had to come home and watch and get dinner started which I loved doing. I didn't mind at all. I used to watch Julia Child. And the galloping gourmet everybody else's watching bugs bunny and and and the other thing that's on but I learned how to make a rue when I was ten years old and I didn't even know what I was doing. I just knew that I could make Brown gravy. Maybe better than my mother. I knew that and it got to the point where I was giving my mother. The shopping list come. I'm too young too young to go to the market to give me this. Give me this this that and the other thing and they were coming home to meals that were you know they were good. I thought I was doing well and then when I wanted to go to cooking school in high school in Bergen County. They had a vocational high school. You could go to the public high school you go to a parochial high school or you go to the vocational school which was Bergen Tech and that was where I wanted to go. I knew I wanted to do when I was fourteen years old but they said No. You can't go no job for women. So I went to a parochial high school segregated from the boys which I didn't care for at all and that was the direction that I went when it came time to go to college. I asked again. Can I go to Johnson and Wales. Can I go to the culinary institute but my mom worked at Fairleigh Dickinson University Teaneck and as a result we could go to college college. They're for free so blue collar family. It's either we're going to spend money on the middle child to go to cooking school. Follow some pipe dream or we're all gonna go to fairly Dickinson and I went fairleigh Dickinson and I was going to be an English teacher. What can I do that gets me out of an office because I knew I didn't want to be in an office and I went to school to college for a semester and a half before I dropped out I had gotten engaged young when I was about nineteen years old and once my future husband and I had decided that so we were going to get married and I said well you know what. I don't want to be an English teacher. I know I don't WanNa do that so I quit. And I went to work for newspaper doing classified ads. We got married. We had our children. This is the mid eighties and in the late eighties early nineties when it was time for me to go back to work because my kids. We're old enough that they didn't need round the clock care and we could do daycare. I got a job at a company. Called Dak- I think it was called full working at the corporate kitchen of ups so's my first job as a professional cook. I live I mean the entire resume I said I had a catering business I said I did pies for the holidays but I knew how to do it. I just had to get my foot in the door. Four and it just so happened that it was a female chef who maybe wanted to give me a chance but she hired me and then I'm like okay. I got to talk talk. I need to walk the walk and within six months I was her sous chef so I pulled it off and we kept going. We worked together for a year at that particular account and it was a brand new kitchen. Everything was shining and sparkling and worked. And everything you wanted did there was three and four and then we lost that account because as is with corporate dining they're always bringing in new clients and you lose the accountant and you go work someplace else. So we went from this beautiful corporate kitchen of the United States Postal Service ups to ramp college. And I think the kitchen was five hundred years old. The Grease was certainly five hundred years old. The mice were five hundred years old and I took one step into that kitchen and Chinese and there wasn't anything everything was broken. The officers were small smell bad she left for another thing and they gave me the account. I'm running this account a year and a half after I first walked into the kitchen and managing a one point two million dollar recount. I have no idea what I'm doing. When it comes to the numbers I had to be taught how to take an inventory and I just kept moving up that ladder? I never wanted to stay with. They hired they hired me to make Tuna Salad Chicken Salad and Egg Salad and then from eleven o'clock until three o'clock work the Deli line making sandwiches for people some weird combinations. I mean there are people who put onions and mayonnaise and Salami the on the tuna sandwich. I've eaten some weird shit. I mean I had two babies. I know what it's like to eat somewhere you know. I'm trying to smile Lila. I'm preparing you all sandwich. The whole New York in May is now. I left that for a little while. I don't know how now honest you want me to be on this thing but I did leave the cooking industry for a little while to become New York. City's most vicious dominatrix and I did that. For about out. Five years I worked out of a studio in New York on twenty four while but I didn't like the commute and I didn't like sitting around and waiting to get picked. I don't like authority. And they don't like somebody to look at me and say no. No no I want somebody else so I went into business for myself and I turned the family basement sment into a dungeon slash studio told my kids never come downstairs and this is no place for you. A- and I continue to do that until nine eleven and then all the disposable income in New York dried up nobody wanted to spend money back on frivolity. If we might be going to war at any minute and I got the older I wasn't I wasn't young like the regular Dominatrix matrixes who were like twenty eight and do anything. I was in my late thirties at this so I did that for awhile while decided okay. I can't keep doing this. I'm too old. I'm certainly not GonNa just do anything these guys ask and I also wanted a lot of money. I was getting almost hundred dollars an hour to do this so talk about the lottery. I went back to work in the kitchen for half half of what I had been making eight years earlier but I very quickly work myself going back up again because I wasn't going to stay at that same level and by the time time I left to move here I moved here in two thousand ten. The last cooking job I had was the executive chef at the New York Stock Exchange won't and I left that to go to the county college of Morris to be the director of the account because I wanted to learn the back of the house a little bit. I want to learn the office. I knew how to cook. I knew how to

Elmer Fudd And Seville discussed on The Afternoon News with Kitty O'Neal

"Stuck in your head that you just can't get rid of well prepping for the afternoon news today. Several of us got off onto a tangent about the old Warner Brothers cartoons Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd a few more. The consensus is our two great episodes of those cartoons Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd starring in a raucously funny version of the barber of Seville and another cartoon in which a lowly worker finds a frog who sings Broadway show tunes and dreams of making his fortune with the frog. Well, now, we all have that frog song. Stuck in our heads and earworm from a cartoon frog. Of course, the only proven way to get rid of an earworm is to either replace it with another song or pass it onto somebody else.
