How long was I? Any color and rapture on red? So it what it has done. Is it rather than having a special color for your company? We have companies that have orange vehicles and so we wrap them in orange, and it's a lot cheaper and you can stack more vehicles than ordering an orange vehicle. Askew said. With Joe. We were talking about wrapping Ah, van in red because he said all my company vans are red. So when you wrap the vehicle and red number one you're protecting in the paint, but number two, you're putting your logo whatever you're going to have in that rap. So it will look like a red vehicle with your lettering on the sides, and it will all be in one rap, and the investment in a white truck is a lot less expensive than a red truck. It is less expensive. I don't know if it's a lot less expensive, but it is a difference in the cost of wrapping. It is opposed by the red truck is their savings There can be there can be. But there's the rap probably is around $3000 to do the rap. Versus ordering a red vehicle, which would be three or $400, Okay or it And then it comes down to availability. Correct. And that's the thing When you have the white vehicle you and you can wrap it any color. You basically have every color under the sun. God 312981720031 to 91 $7200. A. Dodgers two huge stories reflects finally you know say enough of man is the man well that night I happened to be Yankee Stadium and I get in the elevator OPAQ stadium to go to the press must work for the game time there's only two of the people know better it's meaning it's John at Howard who was a columnist and Henry Kissinger secretary of state Nobel Prize winner he happens to walking is going up north summers box or by your videos listen I don't borders and I'm gonna put this out on the on the start times I've been writing on WFAN dot com this is sort quickly hopefully entertain somebody and basically the story is that I I couldn't resist asking him or accusing your start menu America's and he just looked at me with that pick they mostly German accent he shook his head all what a trouble maker while the people you've dealt with in his life you know the client and trouble maker yeah right the people you don't want all over the world and Mandy is a troublemaker I I thought that was gone who is the mode now you got me thinking who's the most random person you shared an elevator with the Yankee Stadium Arnott think that's gonna be yet either I remember going yup I remember going in an elevator once we went toe to measure what come to try to first pitch it must have been a a post season game and the they were probably another ten or eleven twelve people elevator and we were all silent nobody wanted to mess with this vibe of guilty it was all my gosh wouldn't elevator with Joe DiMaggio another time I remember I remember being elevated by myself with Phil Rizzuto okay and I it is probably eighteen ninety five on the cover we can game and I've never met still I talked on the phone probably three times as well as a producer of radio stations back then and out with both Kelly elevator and introduce myself to own little and also the lowest I have nothing else to say this guy is just awkward silence during up I don't know what else to say don't adhere to silence and he said well there is the same thing is really kicking off on yeah yeah we've been going there for a while now like he he was trying to make small talk with me and that's that's what he came up with that was kind of funny and I remember no time same elevator years later two thousand one number two to make the point plan Oakland right and there's a great story about Alex coffee in the athletic this week where she tracked down here and you're gonna be right and basically all the reasons of why why he didn't live in what would have happened if you did and what he's been living with all these years on the other end of one of these great famous plays but they're cuter well one of the playoff games after that Rizzuto threw out the first pitch instead of throwing it he sprinted from the mound toward the first base line and the ball home mimicking Jeter and the crowded already well the next playoff home playoff game after that I would like analytics attempts all guys and I forget if I was getting out and he was getting I was giving you can't help but as the doors are closing I said thanks to our uniform but again that is one are you huckleberry and walked out and the doors close and he was clearly touched all prescription drugs because I looked at the people in America so it's pretty awesome I just got a whole comparison for legal elevators Nikki let me does a man never be able to prove this but just watching that old one run of the Yankees and what people think well I don't know how many people forget it maybe everybody remembers they lost the first two games at home a best of five series coming back from down to like that is not easy even if G. army scores to tie the game up at one yeah he's found a way to win anyway you know I I cut it may have gone twelve yeah you've gotten fifteen but they would have beaten the Oakland A.'s in Oakland to force a game for then when the next when the next when the next two games anyway my book just remember if if Jeremy Giambi scores the go ahead run the third base and they're still not nearly the consort of right leaning still could even still continuing and the whole life you know what what are how was doing in the dugout was trying to keep your new job he's back in the lineup if it came back around later on yet if you score one run there or two runs there you're probably not only chance to call right right right right I thank the that game I mean and you watch a lot of these I mean you've watched a ton of these and I went back and watched game five of the ninety six World Series the one nothing game one of the great underrated games of all time this game we're talking about game three the division series I get it's early on it's not a winner take all game one of the most underrated great games of all time because not only do you have that play but you have these just awesome pitchers duel between zero and Masina and I remember the Asia down around the face and Marriott any gave up a double with one out to the ASEC two cracks that tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning again against the great Marianna Rivera and they obviously didn't you know he's Marriott and the gal that made the last out of the game it was Jeremy Gigante what unlike the idea was that our house can mock who was the bench coach both talk to me about this after the fact was that they were hoping to keep young he's back in the lineup knowing that if adults crack in Moreno right John B. and this is in the article to like he was he the eighth collectively batted one something against Rivera we're gonna be bad two fifty but it was one for four this is the Oakland A.'s Phillips money fall two thousand one they have to realize what all one word right HM the fact that Rivera once you get back like crazy because of this color he was breaking almost backs in a lot of times seems a preferred right handed batters against Rivera for that reason so you know all that swelling and this is their analytics data that is revealing what they selected your mom beyonc kept back in the one of the specific reason he grounded out weakly to second base to end the game against Robert yeah Hey Melanie that was the seventh inning the flip play too so really there's no excuse at that that late in the game down a run to not get a mountain front that's a great game but because if you take the we only have one more current fad right right got me a fitting culmination is over we yeah right there that's the end and after that the next day the Yankees all scored I think three or four early in the first inning and they took it back to game five New York one game five in New York and then you know the ones they want to but another part of that game three I feel this came up a lot last year during my Christmas holiday in duction here you know I've always looked at what people talk about is you know not it he didn't have a will bring but you realize that he threw in elimination games he threw ten scoreless innings for the Yankees seven in that game three in Oakland to fourth place and then three out of the bullpen in the Allen blue game game seven thousand yes yes because we think about the who killed monumental events that happen looking at your foot and home run it gets washed the slides that need a little really hello because what they are if Mike missing those bullets ten scoreless innings of games based companies I'm trying to think if I'm to get anybody because the Yankees have been around for a million years and will eliminate Jack Chesbro who pitched for the Highlanders Masina may be the best Yankee pitcher to not win a championship I'm trying to think about the getting somebody out but that's a really good that's a really good except for a length of time right yeah yeah a year anything like that yeah he was there for eight years had a very good career with the Yankees me one over a hundred games as a Yankee but you think of everyone else you know you think of Ron kitrey you think of Whitey Ford you think of Maine the Pettitte these guys one these guys are a championship team CCC Bappi was there for eleven years won a championship you go back further guys explode Chandler and Allie Reynolds at one championship Roger Clemens one championship David cone so he probably and I know it's tough to be on the Yankees be great and not win a title because winning almost every decade obviously but I'm thinking I got a little pockets in time where they didn't win with write E. mails between sixty three and seventy six you know a guy like Mel Stottlemyre crying was a really good pictures you're right he's one because even when he was in the World Series but then when you're right he's probably the best yeah tell him because he came up in sixty four career you had injuries in its current over before they got a one again seven seven but the injuries factor into a Koreans out a hall of fame pitcher missing is a hall of fame pitcher so you're probably gonna put him in that status above about sodomite what what you talk about your really good point that there it's not a long list but he's got to be probably at the top I would think in the top of my head right now real quick swing I know you and Eddie been doing podcasts and I have discussed this but how do you see this baseball season re opening do you think it's going to be one two locations do you think they're eventually going to get it into the whole ball parks with no crowds what's your sense of how we see baseball if we see baseball twenty twenty I mean I think if it's if it's going to happen it's goddess star in New York the multiple locations if you're talking about spring training sites no fans I don't know how to graduate we'll be back home ballparks when there are built in inequity is into you know each state each area they're not all the dancing at the same rate to the point where you can just open up all these different stadiums are equally understands although fans are going to be part of this as much as people want to think about the idea of letting some fans in the you can only control that distancing to some degree you know even if you want to save that ten thousand people in the fifty thousand stadium and spreading out the first pitch gets filed into the seats were terribly doing opening towards the fall can't keep them apart enough to make it worse at this point unless you know there are some other breakthrough but I love the idea that the fasten what about this postseason south permanent that even if you don't get a regular feature of any kind you have some sort of round robin tournament that is played all style baseball I think we all know that this season is different than any other except for what it is until you can get back to normal but I think everybody's making whatever they can to get some sort of TV content on the on the field and and get these players to produce something that would generate folks around them seven of ten for us thank you checkout Sweeney's podcast thirty with meridian obviously follow Matt Yankees WFAN thank you for joining me and for you your family stay safe obviously thank you and everybody else out there thanks thank you Sir Sweeny murti on baseball of the past and maybe baseball of the future it's very different when you think about re opening baseball compared to basketball and hockey because basketball hockey has had their regular season we started this thing we started this thing thinking we were gonna have a playoff normal you know sixteen teams in.

We went to Aurora's. And then. Maine's beautiful. And then we went on the car ride home. We were kind of dancing around ideas on. Our town. And then we go through the video of upstairs hallway talking about the gofundme page we were starting and how we wanted donations because we were going to start a great here. And then we raise money had been and. The buffalo grove at the middle school there. He started a gay straight alliance. Yeti abandon incorrect from wrong, Molly. But everybody ought to just get along. And stop being so worried about who people are and find out who they really are. That's kind of what life should be about. Don't you think? And I think also one thing about the buffalo grove pride parade is a Molly you've mentioned before it's going to be a little more family friendly. Yeah. Definitely. Trade is wonderful, but not at all times family promptly, but we want our should be here. There's a lot of it's if you bring your your family, you have to explain some skin and things like that. Molly your fifteen how much did your is. Fifteen thousand dollars. About twenty Safar twenty grand. Get it done. Raising duping is to try to sell like twenty girls scout cookies at that age. I have to say, Molly for me, the fundraising part would be the fun part the part that would probably trip me up would be all the paperwork and the permits and the things that have to go into actually putting a public event in the parade. Together was that hard to do to to put all those forms and everything together to to get a parade together. It was it was not my mom that was paper. You're lucky you got mine step in and do all that. Get it done. Mom. Paperwork. What I have to pay on our village really helped us so much. They have met with that month and helped us through the paperwork and the permeating last time we met with them they gave us a fail. Just so we could have an idea of what it would actually cost. And no what we had left to spend on entertainment and decoration for the parade. So we've had a lot of help. We've been very lucky. Great. That's nice job. Mom, and obviously, listen, it's great to have you on my listen. I don't know Molly when you're going to be back on. But I'm sure there'll be some other award for you in the next couple of weeks up on the parade itself. So you stay to mentioned two quick things for your listeners. One thing to the nonprofit that we started to raise the money for this called the pinta cried project. Okay. And we have a few exciting things coming up one being a prom that some of the teams in the group are gonna throw in algebra prom on may nineteen and information about that. On our website pinta pride project dot com. Anybody between the ages of thirteen and nineteen that identifies as part of this community would be invited to that. It'll be bro. If anybody is interested in checking it out and Molly go to school stop talking to me. The kids are coming in right now. Thank you guys. Good kid. Good kid gets a school. Yeah. And you know, nice to have a helpful mom behind you to get an. Only for the paperwork. All right. Let's do this. It's seven thirty three. And we'll do your headlines in just a second on them. We'll go through some of these tax some great techs coming in. What's a song? You want to hear before you die. Why am I doing this? I don't have time to explain it to you. You guys post constantly there's so much support and events and news articles that you guys are are always putting out there. So that people can stay informed stay and not just about your own event. But you know, things within and related to the algae Batikhi entity the other thing, you just said you said a couple of things one you said family friendly regarding the Aurora parade and regarding your own the buffalo grove inaugural parade end June second, but the other thing you said is if a family wants to March together wants to come into this parade together or sponsor something one of the biggest moments, and I have watched the Chicago parade. I have walked in the Chicago parade multiple times Chicago pride. Raid. Everyone stands. Cheers goes crazy. When pe- flag the p flag contingency pass, which is parents friends of lesbians and gays the families who are supportive of their people who are within that community are so revered and loved and respected and like because so many people wish they had that. So yeah, really of this is something that, you know, you're supportive try to be a part of this. It really means so much to to people within this community, absolutely enhance. I'm glad you brought up because we do have a p flag chapter the very close to buffalo grove in a town called Deerfield. And actually a couple of them came to an event that we help last night. She is the mom of Molly pinta, who is really I think we're going to talk to Molly in just a second. But she is a twelve year old girl who came out to her parents and Caroline is her mom, and they then went as as a family to the Aurora parade, basically. And which was last year it was their first parade Aurora's and decided that buffalo grove needed one. I don't know any twelve year olds who think we need a parade for what for any reason. And then Molly, Molly at eleven essentially decided, you know, it'd be really cool is not just for me. But to make it more. Inclusive. So people like me can know that they're in a community where there is love and support. How amazing is your daughter. Do you decide like, you know, what I'm gonna I'm done you can raise yourself 'cause I can all I can only mess you up at this point. 'cause that's kind of what I say. Oh, thank you know. She's she's also a lucky kid in like, you say in this pocket of acceptance and hoping to help other kids that aren't. I agreed. But you guys are doing really really an amazing thing in taking on the let's start a parade. I mean, this is not like a musical where we're like, you know, what just gets seventy six trombones. It'll be no reveal this. A lot to this. So so how exactly does this work you go to the city council? Do you like how what what was the first step in getting your community, which is buffalo grove to go? Yeah. Let's do this. We should do this. Right, right. When we had the idea over the summer, I hit actually not with our village president and manager about another issue happened to have them quick in my Email. And I sent it does manager an Email and told him when our attention, and he right away said that was great. But the person to talk to was one of the police officers air buffalo police departments if you sent me over that way, and that officer western media, very positive here. We were so lucky you said, I think this is a great idea. Let's get together and talk. So we've now had reading we'll have another one next month and. Are really the ones that kind of help you set the parameters of what their route will be and what sort of police protection you need more help with the event. Now that the park district is on board fill w able to tell us to what kind of insurance we should have ready in the event all of these extra people coming on that at more and more you to be help clarify the process is like you said earlier, you wouldn't have the slightest clue where to start I really didn't either. So I'm I'm so lucky that that we have the dodge support, and we have the support of the police department to help us out. We also paid a whole lot of attention when during Labor Day, our talent does buffalo grove days and base throw a parade and we actually walked in that parade decorated our car pride. It just to advertise that this was coming, and we paid a whole lot. The way they set things up. You know, it could steal some ideas at, you know, good for you. Because why reinvent the wheel? When it works. Well for the town every year exactly really debrief on things that work, well and don't work well and figure out how do you improve upon it? We are talking about buffalo Grove's inaugural pride parade which will be happening June. Second we. I'm just so excited. It is at pride month. You guys are June. Second Aurora has a parade and festival within that pride month. And then the last Sunday as always the Chicago pride parade. So people can really make a whole month of this and lots of choices so many choices and go to all of them. I encourage people to go and do that tell me how people can be involved, especially your inaugural year. You guys I'm.

"Roger badesch WGN radio newsroom. These are the stories that matter on seven twenty WGN. We're back at his WGN radio. I in Hannah's Stanley sitting in tonight for Matt bluebell happy as always to be here. And you know, what right now we're talking about. My guest who's gonna join me in a second as Caroline pinta. I don't know if you guys have heard about the pinta pride project, but that is what we are going to be talking about. It is something that I'm super excited about in one of those things that really like I assume as I learned about I was like, how can I tell more people? How can I get this message to more people, and guess what WGN radio is a great way to do it. Caroline. Thank you so much for your time. And for staying up with me. No, thank you so much for having me. So tell me a little bit about the pinta pride project, and then and then I'm going to I want to talk to you about why. Because the why is so very special. Great. The pinta pride project is a non profit that we actually to actually. In. In particular, buffalo Grove's first pride parade, which is going to be next June of twenty nine teen, and we're also using it to fund educational event and awareness about in old town. To make the community feel seen and normalized and head out because my twelve year old daughter. Okay. So the suburban areas while I'm quite sure they have representation of members community members who are within the LGBTQ community. But as you mentioned, they don't have as much representation as far as pride events pride parades things like that tell me how Molly was the inspiration your twelve year old daughter, Molly. Awesome. Well, we all know about the amazing parade it downtown, Chicago, and my daughter being twelve and having come out. He might. Wanted to experience it parade. -sarily young. Raid which was this past June. And he did a spectacular job it won't the ninety eight day, but they still managed to get five thousand people, and it was a beautiful day family friendly parade was how they build it. And Molly, and I actually got walk in the parade with Molly curious signs. Headphone did. Great alliance club. Crowd welcoming and friendly to her and calling out Chad. Molly. It just gave horror such confidence that Nicole on the day. And he. Well, excited about the events that she wanted immediately walkabout willing one in. You started talking about how special it would be outraged. She herself is a gate while the old and. People insecurities. So we just together in a video that on my Facebook page with me and managed to raise about ten thousand dollars. Keep more. I'm very excited about the idea of okay? Ten thousand dollars in two weeks on a gofundme may. Really is very special. It doesn't happen frequently. We hear about it. You know, we're like we raise fifty thousand dollars in two thousand eighteen minutes. But that doesn't always. Were you getting support from the community, your family and friends or or bigger players within that LGBT community? Who were you seeing that support coming from definitely a wide variety? Definitely people that we've recognized but the coolest pilot was go Wirtschaft punching tons of people that we had never heard of us. We could tell that. This was something that resonated with so many people so many people could say they have someone gay in their life and by donating to my daughter's special projects that was the way to honor the person in barrow lice. So really I would say there he if I were to go back through echo. There is equal representation of people that we know which is pretty cool. It is pretty cool, and the people that you've never heard of will be increasing in numbers because. I hope so. Already know the people you now so everybody else now is is going to be new and supporting you for their own reasons. And and for the belief in what you guys are doing as you mentioned, you guys have already will you started out with the goal of having buffalo Grove's inaugural pride parade. Which is. Really quite an undertaking. I don't know. I wouldn't I would have no idea to do anything involving a parade. But you have already secured a date, and you know, the route and everything tell everybody when and where this is going to be thank you. It's again, it's going to be in buffalo, and it'll be June second twenty nine team probably starting in the late morning. We have one stretch of through a residential area. That's called shocker road. And there is about a one mile stretch. That is just just wait Shah right down this residential area with tons of parking in inside streets nearby. So the prayed will go down that way in his van good across one major road in buffalo grove and end in a park called Mike row coal park, which is owned by the buffalo grove park district where they hold their buffalo grove days festival every year and super. Exciting. They have stepped forward to partner on with us. And they are gonna throw a fastball at the end of our parade that they're calling diversity festival. Of course, LGBTQ will be a big part of that. But they're also going to highlight all of the different cultures that we have here in buffalo girls. So that is all gonna be happening on June second, and I guess one thing I should say too is of course, we're throwing the parade in buffalo. But we certainly welcome participation from anybody, far and wide who would like to comment. To get representation from all the north shore. Just because the next closest thing really is the Chicago parade. Yeah. Initial cargo create draws from all around the country, and of course, by June second is within that June pride month. So you there will be people who make the Chicago land area, a destination during that month because of how inclusive definitely certain neighborhoods and areas are within our city, but for the city of buffalo grove in the park district to see this opportunity to celebrate diversity within their own community way to go buffalo grove. Awesome. We're very lucky. You know, what it really is incredibly need? We're facing a time right now politics aside, where we're not everybody is as welcoming as they could be. And so this is a really neat opportunity for the park district to to celebrate all that is good within their own community know, I used to have a food program here under BGN, and and really celebrated so many so much of the diversity of flavors. And and how lucky we were in the Chicago land area to have so many different cultures represented in food and in restaurants. Represent some of that at our festival. I hope so too. I already have it on my calendars. Awesome. I am hoping that that is represented. Also, we are talking right now to Caroline pinta. Who is the mom of Molly pinta, who is the reason for the pinta pride project, which is really the the the group that is spearheading in his behind the buffalo Grove's inaugural pride parade which will be June. Second we're going to continue our conversation with her right after this Hannah Stanley sitting in on WGN back after this. See? Coach, Pat FitzGerald. All over your first question.
