What Stories Are Hidden in Your Home? We Talk With History Attic Research to Find Out.

"Welcomed around the house guys lack so you this last week. We're on jeff devlin's stonehouse revival show. How cool is that. He asked us back on board to do research for yet another youthful beautiful historic home This one is centered in langhorne. Pennsylvania is through the underground railroad dates back to about eighteen ten. We love the story especially because of the women that we found in the research. Just picking up the family with horrible tragedies and you know just surviving so the original Land where the house is situated. Today was part of a five hundred. Eighty four acre tract. That was deeded. From william penn as all of the land in pennsylvania was once william. Penn's he was a londoner who was given the state of pennsylvania before it was the state of pennsylvania was just land at the time From king charles and he started to sell off a parcels of acreage to people that he wanted to make sure you know. He was bringing his people over usually quaker sympathetic. To kind of william. Penn's background so the quaker faith came over from england so the original tracks. Five hundred eighty four acres in bucks county which was wilderness at the time and then it got parceled out from the original owner down through family Through the mail side of the family until the owner of the property that actually built the house was the richardson family. They built the house in about eighteen ten And we were able to really track the family stories from the very beginning of five hundred. Eighty four acre parcel down to the families that lived in the house themselves. and way through really their geology. We went through all of the census records. Swear it's cool when you pull a census record you're able to go back and see the names of the people that lived in the house. How old they were their occupation the value of the property. So it's really interesting to take a look back in time just to see what the family make up was

Gigi in Wonderland - Vogue's March Issue Cover Story

"She's perfected the art of living in the spotlight. But motherhood has opened digi hadeed up to a new world and a new set of priorities. I'm khloe mao evoked contributing editor. And this is g. G in wonderland knew that i have that animal in me says gee hadeed relaxed. In bright. from december cold the twenty five year old model is astrid colored quarterhorse named dallas. And telling me about the birth of her baby in september here at her home in bucks county pennsylvania following a fourteen and a half hour labor at her side. Were her partner zane. Malik her mother yulong to her sister. Bella and a local midwife and her assistant when you see someone do that you look at them a bit differently. I probably looked crazy actually. She says a giggle tinged with pride. I was an animal woman. Mallet cut the baby. Click that she was out says gee gee gazing forward through dallas alert ears as we plod through the upper fields of harmony hollow. The farm owned by longest boyfriend. Joseph goalie a construction firm ceo. I was so exhausted. And i looked up. He's holding her. It was so cute. She's in a cropped long as puffer stretch. Czar jeans and warned black riding boots and looks like neither a harried mother of a ten week old nor paparazzi ducking supermodel with her hair roped into a smooth bun bear face and tiny gold hoop earrings. She resembles mostly her teenage self. An equestrian who showed jumped competitively while growing up in her hometown of santa barbara. California what i really wanted for my experience was to feel like okay. This is a natural thing that women are meant to do. She planned to deliver it a new york city hospital but then the realities of covert hit particularly sequestering here ninety minutes from manhattan and the limits on numbers in the delivery room which would preclude yolanda and bella from being present. Then she and malik watched the two thousand eight documentary the business of being born which is critical of medical interventions and depicts a successful home birth. We both looked at each other. And we're like. I think that's the call. Gd says they placed a blow up bath in their bedroom and sent their three cats and border collie away when the midwife expressed concern that the sphinx and maine coon felines might puncture the tub with their claws. Malik ask gee-gee what music she wanted to hear and she surprised him by requesting the audio of favourite children's novel the indian in the cupboard. He downloaded the film because it was one of his favorites too and they spent the early hours of labor watching it together. That's something we'd never talked about. But in that moment we discovered we both loved. Gd says bash family. She then tells me that malik. The former one direction star turned solo artist. Who has famously press shy and declined to be interviewed for. This article likened his own experience of her birth to align documentary. he'd seen in which a male lion paces nervously outside the cave. The lion s delivers her cubs z. Was like that's how i felt you feel so helpless to see the person you love in pain. Doom dula malibu high classmate carson. Meyer had prepared her for the moment where the mother feels. She can't go any longer without drugs. I had to dig deep. Jichi says i knew it was going to be the craziest pain in my life. But you have to surrender to it and be like this is what it is. I loved that you'll monda and the midwife coach through the pain there definitely was a point where i was like. I wonder what it would be. Like with an epa darryl how it would be different jichi frankly. My midwife looked at me and was like you're doing it. No one can help you your past the point of the epidermal anyway. So you'd be pushing exactly the same way in a hospital bed so she kept pushing. I know my mom zane. Bella were proud of me but at certain points i saw each of them in terror says she ducking under a leafless branch. Dow also who've sucking in the muddy terrain afterward z and. I looked at each other. And we're like we can have some time before we do that again. The baby girl named kai digi revealed on instagram in january from the arabic for the chosen one was a weekly. She was so bright right away. Gd says adding that. The baby's heart rate stayed consistent throughout the labor. That's what i wanted for her. A peaceful bringing to the world. Kyw's world has so far remained small. Her mother rarely leaves the bucolic corner of horse country where the hadeed put down roots in two thousand seventeen. Malik bought a nearby farm. The shoot for this story. In early december at a studio in manhattan was the first time g g had left her daughter since birth yolanda took over caregiving duties even bringing her granddaughter along to feed the miniature. Ponies mama and mccoo. Gee-gee has no nanny no baby nurse. None of the traditional celebrity crutches of new motherhood during our interview the baby stayed with her father and zan's mother tricia who is visiting from england for a month to help she decided to completely take care of the baby alone says yolanda odd. And i think that bond is so important. The dutch former model turned real housewives of beverly hills. Alum was my welcoming party. When i arrived at the farm booming. Hello her arms wide on the threshold in. Camo print puffer and boots. I'm proud of her face on magazine but seeing her give birth was a whole other level of proud yolanda says you go from looking at her as a daughter to looking at her as a fellow mother. The natural transitions and generational shifts of new motherhood are at play in the household. It is a family happily influx on the sprawling. Thirty two acre property. The handful of cottages are designated for different siblings. But this summer. When g g moved out of her cottage into zan's house bella and brother anwar graduated to larger cottages leaving. The smallest is a guest house. We're still close by says she but we have our space to be our own little family. She hosted thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year with zero mother cooking the turkey g g. A prolific home-cooked herself made banana. Pi and baked yolanda favourite tatham. Bella occurred over stuffing and spiked apple. Cider in the kubota tv g g got her christmas tree early for the occasion dressing it with personal ornaments. That she and malik have exchanged over the years. The most recent being glass nintendo console a reference to a favor quarantine activity. I decorated fully. Without my mom's help. And i think i did her. Gd says they are tribe publicly known for their closeness yolanda the doting den. Mother gee-gee the fresh-faced protective older sister. Bella the edgier veronica deejays betty and aloof baby brother on war joining g g and yolanda in the kitchen for latinos and cinnamon rolls before a horseback ride eyewitness. These rules confirmed. Yolanda has the sink drinking a smoothie and finishing gee-gee sentences when she grasps for word g g threatens to have a connection if anwar eats her cinnamon roll when he ambles out of his cottage. But motherhood is a new phase and it will be up to g g to decide whether it belongs on the silhouettes of social media. I think she wants to be real. Online's as bella twenty four by phone from new york city but until her child wants to be in the spotlight and can make the decision herself. She doesn't want to put her in that position. Bela who splits her. Time between her. Soho loft and the farm and facetime with her niece and sister every morning says she already enjoys reading books. Aloud that jeeves to read to her including the rainbow fish and the very hungry caterpillar. It's pretty nostalgic. Bella says it could be argued that we are all hungry caterpillars this year cocooning and comforting with hope of emerging bright winged vaccinated g. G wants split her time between her condo and no-ho and the first class cabin of airplanes when lockdowns began she had just returned from walking fashion shows in four countries and discovering. She was pregnant on the other end of covid. She will emerge as a mother. Happily headquartered in rural pennsylvania. Still a supermodel. But one determined to lead more secluded less peripatetic life. I always want to be here fulltime. She tells me. I love the city but this is where i'm happiest furious. Speculation and countless think pieces have attended the question of what this time will mean. Will we slow down flee cities for less frenzied. More mindful life in many ways. Gee-gee the bodyman of such ideas. The sheiks glamorous version yes but also a person drawn to reassessment. It feels like now. I'm in a different place in my life. She says and she does seem genuinely at home

"Story is all about in Bucks County. You've got to imagine. It's probably some sort of Insurance fraud. I would guess FBI agent and there's going to be so many stories like this much like what's going on in Philadelphia, with this contract to get the vaccine is distributed through a 22 year old kid. Yeah. FBI agents and other law enforcement officials were seen Thursday at Genesis Diagnostics. Genesis Diagnostics offers a variety of genetic and diagnostic testing at the start of the Corona virus pandemic. It offered private covert testing before Bucks County had opened any government run testing sites. No additional details about Thursday's law enforcement action. "A new strain of the corona virus continues to spread through the united kingdom. A number of countries have temporarily banned travel from the uk including canada france and germany among others. But the us has not for now. New york governor. Andrew cuomo has advocated a travel ban. And he said monday that travelers from the uk to his state should at least be required to test negative before flying. Their one hundred twenty countries require the uk travelers that received a negative test before they get on the plane in the uk. One hundred twenty countries and the united states has done nothing. There are three airlines that come from the uk a fly into our airports. Our airports are run by the port authority of new york new jersey the three airlines british airways delta and virgin atlantic. They daily bringing seven several thousand passengers per day. I am asking those airlines to add new york state to the list of the one hundred twenty countries that require tests before the flights leave the uk. The head of the us government's operation warp speed. Said monday that more information is needed before knowing for sure if the uk strain is more transmissible he said quote. I think scientifically to date. There is no hard evidence that this virus is actually more transmissible on quote. He added that there is clear evidence that there is more of it in the population. Us surgeon general. Dr jerome adams said the. Us needs more information viruses. Mutate what they did to which of the virus which causes covid nineteen nine mutated dozen times already this year. That doesn't mean it's more dangerous. It doesn't mean it's more contagious. So we're working with the whol. Working with the cdc working with the uk to figure out <hes>. Whether this new strain of virus going to behave any differently. But i just talked to dr collins who heads the national institutes of health so far. Nothing looks like it's going to change the effectiveness of this vaccine <hes>. Number one and number two even if there is a mutation at some point which changes the effectiveness. It'll be just like the seasonal flu vaccine that we know how to tweak.

"Here's where we are right now. I have no more time to waste. Georgia. Overnight. Shocker, Joe, This always happens overnight. Weird, innit? Overnight? The lead always seems to change it for a clock in the morning. You go to sleep. President Trump could be president. You wake up in the morning. All of a sudden we lost Georgia somehow. Wow. You think they do this stuff in the daylight, you know, kind of makes sense. But whatever. I'll leave that for another. Here's where we stand in Georgia. I'm going to give you this scenarios. Georgia were down. They were down by roughly around 1000. There are a significant number Less than 10,000, but enough to change the outcome of the election in Georgia that are outstanding military ballots and balance from Gwinnett County, Georgia, which we're not sure how those they're going to break Job. They've been leaning Democrat a little bit, so we're not sure bottom line on Georgia. Don't give up on Georgia. Do not the devil didn't go down to Georgia. Despite the song, we still have a chance in Georgia, and it's a relatively good one. Are we good on Georgia? Everybody clear because I don't want you to turn off the news for a minute. I'm serious. You're better. You're better off with his show, even when it's tape than some of the stuff you're getting on the news. I hate to say that, but Given it. You know, this is all of the time of this recording as well. That's important. I think if you don't mind forces going to sip some coffee there in the show I did in the coffin with Mama. There it is. Thank you. My wife got me a coffee machine for my birthday because she always gets the best gifts ever. All right. So Georgia we can still pull out. Second, Let's move on to Pennsylvania. We're now down in Pennsylvania to again. You wake up in the morning. Wow, Check it out. But Joe Biden's now winning Pennsylvania. Two. Amazing. It's all going to come down to Bucks County. Right now In Pennsylvania. They're still the significant number of outstanding votes. How Bucks County's going to swing When those came in. I can't tell you Ladies and gentlemen, it's it's up in the Air Pennsylvania. I'm not nearly as confident in Pennsylvania. As I am optimistic about Georgia not overly confident about Georgia, but I'm optimistic we could still win their Pennsylvania. It's a toss up right now. You know, the Lord only knows what's going on right now in Philadelphia, you know, it's that that is the voter fraud capital of the world. If we see evidence of voter fraud, Of course, we need to report it. But You know, I don't know what to tell you. Philadelphia. That area's not is noted, Actually you, Khun, look it up on the Internet yourself is actually noted for voter front. So I'm going to come down to Bucks County in the splint on 50 50 on Pennsylvania right now. In Nevada, the outstanding votes or in Clark County. Southern Nevada. Now again, that's a county that would tend to lean towards Biden. Can we make up the roughly 10 to 11,000 votes? We need to take Nevada with the 100,000 votes outstanding in Clark County. The short answer. Ladies and gentlemen. Again? I don't know. But unlike others at other places, I'm not going to call something I don't know about. Stew on that for a moment. Okay, So where? Yeah, There's no question. We're in a precarious situation right now. But I want to leave you in a bit. It's folks. It's you know the songs always the darkest before the dawn. No. Would President Trump it always is. He always seems to be your remember Rocky to Ma Ke to know at the first Rocky, too, when he wins against Apollo, and it's like the accounted won any doing slow motions, you and Rocky like it. The 9th 2nd manages to grab the top of the top of the term buckle and get up. Why, Apollo? That's trump like every time you think he's counted out, he always manages to get up and do it. You doubt me right before the election, they had this We had the Russian collusion hoax. We had all of these things, they said any other candidate would have been taken out, but not trump. So hold on that for a second, because this is an important point, too, because we're going back to Georgia for a minute, But we're not talking about the presidential race for a second, folks. I don't know what's gonna happen right now. I'm not optimistic. I'm cautiously hopeful. I guess that's the best way to describe it that we could still pull this out. But I don't want to spin your wheels. If the president loses this race. We're not done. I know I believe me. I know better than anybody. I know the frustration. Now I get it. A lot of you are emailing me are sending me parlour notes and Facebook notes and twitter notes, and I I get it. I hear you the frustration, the score the frustration, the anger. I mean, Paula just picked me up. Just a few minutes ago, I was at the Martin North Hospital there. And she's in the car, and usually she's a little more cheery. How did it go in there? And they had a guy as good as you talk the whole way back sitting right here talking about me. She's not in her room and, ah I see you don't sound good. It's just like I'm not. I'm just really depressed about this whole thing. I know I get it. I get it. I get it. I is nothing I can say Or would dare try to say to make your pain and agony of what you just went through. Go away. You poured your heart into this. You felt like the country was finally on the right track. And it feels like it was all just the rug was just pulled out from under view. I totally totally understand. I'm with you. I feel the same way. What we have potentially to Senate race is outstanding. Some of you may say I don't want to hear about that right now. I don't want to tell you about that right now. But I have to In Georgia, the state of Georgia. It appears now that neither of the Republican candidates Are going to get the 50% you need in a general election. They're not plurality Elections in Georgia. To avoid a runoff. You understand that the states have different rules in Maryland, where I ran for the Senate. Whoever gets the most votes wins. That's it. There's no run off. If there's 42 candidates and Senator Joey Bag of Donuts gets 11% of the vote, and everybody else gets less. You win with 11% of the vote. By the way, I like that system better. That's not the system in Georgia. System in George's. If you have the same 11 candidates and they get 11 10, 987 says, You know, 6.2. Whatever it is the top to have to go to a runoff. Someone has to get 50%. And if there's two obviously one of them is going to have 50% By simple math. So there's going to be a runoff likely for both Senate races in Georgia. Why are they both on the ballot at the same time? Because he was the Johnny Isakson Some one retired in Georgia. Is that they're usually split into different classes. It's very unusual for this to happen. Georgia has ju you taught me to chew. On the ballot. David Perdue and Kelly La Flor of the Republicans and the war, knocking us off on the Democratsside. I get it. I know you don't want to hear about this now. I'm sorry. You have to There's going to be a vote in January again. We don't have time here to sit here. No, I'm not saying that I'm not conceding anything. There is absolutely no surrender, Not an ounce of it in my heart, my soul, my mind, not a muscle in my body's ready so that you understand that I'm just saying we have to start preparing now because the Democrats already are. In the event President Trump does lose or even if he wins, it doesn't matter. Control of the Senate will be with these two seats..

That's a good question. I'm hesitant to even even speculate at this point, to be honest, because there's so much of the vote. That's just not in yet. They have some of the things you know, reporting, but it's just so small. At this point. We kind of wait till our decision desk gives us information on that kind of stuff. So I'm hesitant to even speculate. Did you see in the campaigning? Did you see the president spend more time in Western P a. And the vice president spending more time in eastern Pia, or did they both kind of crisscross the state in their campaign? I think they both sort of criss crossed. You know, Joe Biden's campaign was definitely all over the place. I mean, for them at the Trump campaign, either had the president or surrogates. You know, out all over the states, I think they basically both of them just blanketed to stay either with the candidates himself or the vice presidential vice president or the vice presidential candidate, or, you know, they're surrogates. There were events all over Pennsylvania. It seemed like I was constantly getting and you probably were two emails, saying You know someone was going to be here. This person is going to be here and I'm thinking Well, you know, I don't know how they're all staying awake at this point, but you know, it's it's a marathon, not a friend. All right. Good deal. Thank you very much. Tonya Powers joining us right now from Pennsylvania. Thanks for the update. We'll get the latest from her. Throughout the night. North Carolina eyes where the attention is right now the country North Carolina with 80% of the vote, and currently Joe Biden with the lead in that state, a TTE 50.3% to 48.5 things starting to get tighter there. They're still about 84,000 votes between the two candidates, and there are five counties yet to report Johnston County, which went big for Donald Trump last time yet to report that is the county that is just to the east of Wake County. It is a suburb of Raleigh. But a conservative suburb of Raleigh, north of there is Franklin County, which Wilmore than likely go for Joe Biden and then to rural counties Still to come a swell in Granville County and Rockingham County, which are on the border between North Carolina and Virginia. Think starting to get tight there in that state. Do two numbers coming in from the Mountain counties, which is where cities like Hickory and Lenore are those air, Big counties for the president in 2016, and well, they're big counties for him again here in 2020. Caldwell County, which is Lenore. It's currently it's 74% for the president. In fact, he leads that one by about 19,000 votes. Burke County He's right at 70% there as well. Avery County, a smaller county to the north, in the mountains there at 76%, the numbers continue to come in. In the state of North Carolina. Let's check in in our newsroom. We've got some news starting to work in now. Eric Bushman joins us right now where you want to bring to your attention. We're talking about North Carolina and also how Texas is starting to lean toward the president, Another key battleground state where Joe Biden was leading, has also flipped in favor of the president, just barely as Ohio And so that is when we also wanna watch watch real closely. The currently right now the president of 49.6 to 49.1, and I just wanted to quickly bring that to your attention. Yeah, And when you look at Ohio it's interesting because you could break down that state almost based on college campuses. Other than the states immediately north in the Cleveland and Toledo area or the county's, I should say in the Cleveland Toledo area, you look at the rest of the counties around the state. All of them have a university campus there. Athens County is blue. That's Ohio University. Columbus is obviously Ohio State. Dayton has both Dayton and right state. They're in the University of Cincinnati and Xavier. In that metropolitan area. The rest of the state with the exception of Akron, Cleveland, Toledo is red or pink at this point, and those numbers continue to come in now for the president. And as you heard, Eric Bushman mentioned have tighten things up there in Ohio, so about 64% of the vote in in that state on virtually a dead heat between Donald Trump. And Joe Biden. Currently we'll have more on what's happening in these battleground states. We've also got the latest on what's happening here locally. Eric Bushman's gonna have that coming up here next, also joining us Brian Kilmeade from Fox and friends. You see him every weekday morning. We've got him up late tonight. He joins us next with a national perspective here on the B. A. P talked with Monica Crowley in Washington, D C, where she'll be watching the.

Trump and Biden hit key states in final campaign stops

"Of the axioms of presidential campaigning watch where where the the candidates candidates are are travelling travelling in in the the final final days. days. And And on on this this final final day day of of activity activity before before Election Election Day, Day, it it looks looks like like Pennsylvania Pennsylvania is is considered considered the the most most important important prize prize and joining us live CBS News Political reporter Caitlin Huey Burns, who's been all over Pennsylvania. Caitlin, Thank you so much for joining us. Hi. Thanks for having me. So you're on the road somewhere in Pennsylvania. Why has the Keystone state emerged as perhaps the chief target here by both the Trump and Biden campaigns. That's right. We're leaving Bucks County and heading back to Philadelphia. This is the battleground of all battlegrounds. President Trump was here making four stops around Pennsylvania yesterday. Joe Biden is barnstorming the state today with this family come alone. There is also here. Pennsylvania is key for a couple of different reasons. First, it offers 20 electoral votes. A huge prize for whoever wins the presidency and also in 2016, it was decided by just 44,000 votes that's such and there are large in and at the margin that help Trump When the White House he's hoping it helped when again, But both campaigns say that this is a very close race, perhaps closer than the polls we've to believe, and the Biden campaign wants to take know voter for granted. They're crossing all over the state today, hoping to get every last vote out. We also know that Pennsylvania this is the first time that they're having absentee ballots, no excuse absentee ballot programming. About three million people have requested an accepted absentee ballots. Um, we've been talking to voters who like this process. Want to make sure Their vote isn't to be counted. You know, it seems like Pennsylvania. Like many other states, It's really an election between the cities in the suburbs and then the rural areas where the president has a real stronghold. That's absolutely right. So you're going to see the vice President Joe Biden, campaigning and places like Philadelphia and the suburbs around Philadelphia, which, as we've seen since the 2018 midterms have shown kind of perhaps a realignment of the parties also campaigning in places like Pittsburgh. The president, meanwhile, has been campaigning in areas that he flipped. In 2016 counties. Ah ah, that, you know that include former Vice President Joe Biden, hometown of Scranton, Uh, that flipped from Obama to Trump in 2016 hoping to maintain those areas support. You're going to hear the president. Talk about oil and fracking. You're going to hear Joe Biden really talk about Krone virus pandemic and making that a centerpiece of his campaign. We talk a lot about bellwether places. What part of Pennsylvania? Are you considering the bellwether tomorrow night to see which way things might go? Well, a couple of different places that we focused our reporting right now. We as I mentioned we're in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. This is a place where the margins have really narrowed in 2016. Hillary Clinton wanted by fewer than 3000. Votes, and you talk to a variety of different voters at a early Dropbox location, who kind of gave us a sense of that area as a key battleground watch. We're also keeping an eye on those three counties that Trump flipped from Obama to trump in 2016 1 of them is a place that we were over the weekend, North Hampton An area that we were walking around name neighbors, neighborhoods with canvassers and finding trumps science Next. If I don't sign their neighbors against neighbors, you could be in the same neighborhood and be supporting two very different candidates. So those are kind of the areas that we're watching to see. It's basically a game of turning out your voters. And that's why if you live in Pennsylvania, you're likely getting calls from campaigns urging UT either Get your ballot in or show up on election Day. Hey, Caitlin, our time is up, So I need a quick answer on this, but Do you agree with this? Thought that whoever wins Pennsylvania wins the election. I think it is going to be critical to whoever with the White House. All

Why Pennsylvania is Key Among Battleground States This Election

"President trump narrowly won Pennsylvania in two, thousand sixteen and the state is shaping up to be an even harder fought battleground this time. Around we turn now to our national political reporter John McCormack Hi John. Hi, thanks for having me. So John Pennsylvania is uniquely positioned even among the battleground states in terms of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent economic fallout. What can you tell us? Well, we did a data analysis looking at the unemployment compared to a year earlier and also the. Deaths per capita for every county in America what we found when we did that analysis was that a Pennsylvania among the battleground states has the largest proportion of counties that fall into both of those unfortunate pockets has a lot of counties that have unemployment rates that are in double digits much higher than a year ago because of the pandemic and it also. Has a good number of counties that have deaths per capita rates that are in the top twenty percent of all counties. So we we looked at both of these benchmarks to try to get a sense for you know which battleground state is sort of suffering the most pain right now related to the pandemic in Pennsylvania really stands out in in those rankings. Let's dig into some specific county as you call Bucks County in suburban Philadelphia a battleground within a battleground. Tell us more about that what's happening there? Yes. So the unemployment rate in in Bucks County, which is just outside of Philadelphia. It's nine point seven percent, and that's more than double what it was a year ago and we used your ago figures because there's a season -ality. Unemployment rates, and so we looked at what was the unemployment rate a year ago for the same month and then compared to that that month this year and bucks is a county that Democrats and Republicans have fought over very closely. In recent elections. Hillary Clinton wanted by eight tenths of one percentage point I was simply like three or four thousand votes in A. County that is home to about six, hundred, twenty, eight, thousand people, and so it is a place that gets a lot of attention. Every presidential election cycle it has an area called lower box, which is in the southern end of the county and is a little grittier more industrial and certainly more densely populated, and there's a lot of white working class voters in that area. You know really rallied around Donald. Trump. In two, thousand, sixteen in his campaign of course hopes that they'll rally around him again in this presidential election. So it's a big county. It's a complex county, has a real widespread in terms of soda sort of socio economics, and we'll be intensely fought over by the way former vice president Joe Biden will be going there on Saturday. We all know he hasn't been doing a lot of on the ground campaigning this summer and fall, but he's starting to do more of it and one of his stops this weekend will be in bucks. County. So that indicates it's important. You anticipated my next question. How are the dynamics you just described influencing how president trump and Joe Biden are approaching Pennsylvania especially in the final days of this election and how does that compare to what saw in the candidate approach to Pennsylvania in two? Thousand Sixteen Yeah Well Twenty Sixteen. There was a lot of emphasis on Pennsylvania as well. Hillary Clinton held her national political convention in the summer in Philadelphia. So that was an indication of how important the state was back then as well. Of course, president trump won the state very narrow sort of as part of his you know northern Great Lakes, trifecta Pennsylvania Michigan Wisconsin that really sealed the presidency for 'em and So it's important. Again, this time Joe Biden's headquarters is in his campaign headquarters is in Philadelphia, and when you look at the the television reservations that are in place for both campaigns between now and the election Pennsylvania on a dollars per electoral vote basis in other words if you look at all the advertising spending that's going to be going on in Pennsylvania and the next week and a half if you then divide by how many electoral votes each state has and sort of do the math on that Pennsylvania ranks right at the top specially for Joe Biden in terms of places where he's going to put a lot of dollars on television screens in the coming days. So John Given, everything we've just talked about just how key is Pennsylvania going to be in this election let's arguably the most important battleground state. Now obviously, Florida's is also very important twenty seven electoral votes, but Pennsylvania has twenty and it's sort of viewed as critical for both of these candidates from Vice President Joe Biden is from Pennsylvania. You know if if he can't win the state that was born in that, that does have a lot of sort of working class that he's trying to appeal to that could be pretty telling in terms of what happens on election night. So it'll be very much watched. Some of the outside groups that are trying to influence the presidential race they sorta described Pennsylvania as. Camel's back. They feel like if if trump can't win Pennsylvania then there's really probably know path for him. It's always dangerous to say those sorts of things because you know like anything there can be surprises in in different combinations of these states can add up to the two hundred and seventy that you need to win. But certainly, a lot of eyes will be on Pennsylvania and a lot of resources and time will be going into the state in the next week and a half before the Election Wall Street. Journal. National, political reporter John, McCormick John Thank you so much for being here today.

I'm not exactly sure where that is Percocet for Cassie, Pennsylvania, so that it was ah, right after Tropical Storm Fay Had moved through the area. And this was I believe on Friday night, so the family then found what they were calling these dark stains. They were kind of dripping down their walls, thie stains. And they thought it was storm damage. Like you know, brown water or you know something along those lines, So, yeah. I mean, that's what you would think, right? So the one lady is talking about how her husband gets closer to and starts to feel it. And she's like these stains. The stuff that was on there was like this kind of sticky stuff almost like syrupy and then they they realized after smelling it, and he actually ended up tasting it. It was honey actually pouring down their walls in their house. Would you taste that there was black who's running down? So why would you taste like Honey? That's a lot of bees. "Now we're coming back out of this. Texas is going the right now Texas. Open all the way up now. They're telling their bars and restaurants. They need to be back down to fifty percent capacity for the fourth of July weekend. Florida. Has told their bars. They can no longer sell alcohol on premise. They can print on premises. The alcohol to go. So. It's got people in Colorado and northern. Colorado scared about what's next. Because well, they could and lock everybody back up. How effective will that be I'm not sure. also what does that mean for these businesses and where we truly at so let's dive into this this cove nineteen Colorado case summary. Thirty two thousand five hundred eleven cases. Sounds like a lot right it does. Out of that thirty, thousand, five hundred and eleven cases, five, thousand, four, hundred, forty, two, hospitalized so big. Drop off right off the bat. You know how many people who tested. Three, hundred, twenty, thousand, nine, hundred and ninety seven, and this was a as of June twenty-seventh, so we're over three hundred twenty one thousand now. Seventeen hundred deaths while one thousand, six hundred you deaths among cases, one, thousand, five hundred eight deaths due to cove in eighteen. This is the number that really. For lack of a better term pisses me off. It's the outbreaks. And outbreak is defined a two or more people, my Ryan and I sitting inside here right now. There's glass in between us if we both had it. KPFK. What have an outbreak now didn't happen I. Just think too is just a silly number for such for the term outbreak? Because it, it brings so much fear with. So little dive into this a little bit more weld county obviously was one that that grew very quickly. Then the cases went into from Weld County went up very quickly, and no one's arguing that some of the things to look at though are also the number of central workers here in weld. County, you talk about jobs you talk about the agriculture to see the the energy industry. So the case rates per one hundred thousand.

Danube as we speak now having a cruise the number here is six one seven two five four ten thirty six one seven two five four ten thirty is the number if you're in Massachusetts if you're outside Massachusetts it's one triple eight nine two nine ten thirty that's one triple eight nine two nine time thirty we've been celebrating Halloween in our own little way I love Halloween I can't help but I just don't but there's a dark side to Halloween no pun intended without a safety is a big issue and I don't just mean you know be careful crossing the street or only accept factory wrapped candy at a stranger's house it's a night where people you know are allowed to disguise themselves and not be threatening when they do that so if you have a miscreant who wants to do you harm it's hard to identify them at Halloween in Georgia some sheriff's deputies try to be proactive in protecting people specifically children from from potential harm on Halloween I deputies from the Bucks county sheriff's office placed do not trick or treat at this address signs in the yards a registered sex offenders what do you think about that do you think it's a good idea or is it over the top in a violation of somebody's rights are the department said the signs were consistent with the state's sex offender and registration warning law but three of the sex offender sued the department to stop the deputies from placing the signs in their yards this Halloween this holiday season when a federal judge agreed with them said there right the judge's decision it says that the sheriff's office gave no evidence that the offenders posed any threat to children and the signs actually violated the offender's rights to privacy what do you think do you agree with that decision the Bucks county sheriff armed responded I thought extremely responsibly I'm after the decision came down he came out and made a statement a public statement saying while the vast majority of us may disagree with the judge's ruling I strongly encourage you to not take matters into your own hands this Halloween we understand we understand frustration with the judge's ruling well we all must abide by it unless it is overturned on appeal unfortunately there is no time to appeal this before Halloween I think that's absolutely right you can't take the law into your own hands and that includes the deputies by the way you can go put a sign on someone's yard no matter how well intentioned you are you know that's that's trust pass among other things what what would have been a better solution for this can you think of one that that might have been a better response of the deputies we're giving how about I'm maybe asking employees to volunteer to station themselves nearby you know in the neighborhood on public streets you don't need to tell people why you're there just keep an eye on things that's that's one way I was thinking about it but I I understand that the feelings are high in you need to try to tax people and and I disagree with part decision I don't I think that there is a high recidivism rate for child molesters meeting once a child molester it's I think it's very difficult to to break that pattern on but I do agree that if somebody's out of jail they've they have a right to privacy and you know they're not they're not under current charges they have a right to privacy you can put a big giant sign on their lot what do you think what would you have said to the deputies or do you have a different solution that could accomplish the same thing without violating these people's rights Joseph in Boston welcome to night side how are you how are you I'm not a morning to you too Sir how are you this evening good good good thank you thank god it didn't thank god right now the kids are all here which is great nine Boston in the morning so we're good but I got you know this and I thought about you know like not for how long were you a lot I totally agree I really do but I did I just got it Hey I was driving and that one Bob Roberts if you found a little older but they say that you know that they've been mistaken go out yeah because the news helped get shot took me by surprise yeah yeah I figured that I think it was a good it was a good laugh and at a lower I mean I thought about I had the chance and to think about you didn't obviously but a good learning mom and I tell you know I would not repeat that that that's not even funny in there now I don't know her sense of humor read that you you and I could say that but I appreciate the fact that she's trying to she's trying to be funny and she's trying to like you know yeah no no no he was just no question about it she did the thing about the a reference to a hole or a bird you do I get out of that yeah fine but the gun thing I just think that that was really over the top and I live in again you do a great job by the way thank you it let me ask you Joseph do you have you seen any holiday holiday costumes Halloween costumes that you have found offensive I really haven't I've pretty much seen all the norm you know the rest of the regular one a lot of style laws and I think even Brady dressed up as a cow walks cara goodnight is that but I didn't really see anything that I would find you know like that would really stand out wow that's really bad that the trend you know I've done with the exception of one that I told everybody earlier that I saw when I was a little girl of you know somebody making fun of somebody who is in a vegetative state I don't think I don't think I have ever seen one that had me horrified were like really so I mean that's that's about it what do you think about these deputies down in Georgia I was on I was on hold waiting to go on talking to Maria what what did they do well these deputies thought they'd be proactive in trying to protect children in their community from registered sex offenders and they put signs on their line to say do not trick or treat here and while three of them sued the basically the the public did sheriff's office to have the signs removed and the federal judge said yeah no you can't do that and so they took the signs up because they didn't have time to appeal it I I agree that maybe the signs were over the top you can't trust pass and somebody's property and put a sign on it but maybe there was another way to handle it like maybe station yourselves in that neighborhood and keep an eye out for the kids I know I would I used to live on the Cape there were people there who did exactly that there was a registered sex offender who is temporarily neighborhood they stationed off duty police officers at the end of that street in unmarked cars while that guy was there until he moved and so yeah always kept an eye out and they didn't they did not trespass they didn't tell people what they were doing there I knew because I had a friend who was a police officer and that was the only reason why I knew and so they they kept an eye on the kids at the same time but not didn't interfere with anybody's rights I think maybe they could have done something like that here yeah I think I the more you decide real quickly that they absolutely overstep their Iraq's already by going on your property and like you said the best way would have been station people there discreetly and how people that he gives you know not that much and I'm sure this I know that like that that they just thought out then and only you know make it ten times worse yeah for all involved you know I don't think that's right I really don't get crazy cat thank you can on that road that that that that wrote it down if you're not going to property do things like that and now yeah I agree with that if you disagree with he did not last that you just can't do it no and I appreciate the fact that they're trying to protect their community and their hearts in the right place but the problem that you have is that those those registered sex offenders are also in your community and yet to protect your rights as well so yeah I know you can't do that but I I just got a call about that really took me back and I'm not I know did you because when you said wow that you're a joke by what about what about a lot of the holes it is one o'clock Hussein say ouch right well and I hope that you never repeated now do you still listening and that I am sure you sure you do a great job thank you Joseph I appreciate the call very much all right thank you Sir have a happy Halloween we have we have an open line if you want to call the number six one seven two
