That tells the criminals and the lovely folks who want to do very deep injustice over there at Lenox Mall to just show up with an adult. And then you can create crime. I think what they're doing is wrong. It's a band aid on something that needs surgery, and we need to help these kids get off the streets and doing crime. At the same time. We need to be arresting shoplifters. Let's get real. All right. So if I got that correctly, I just saw we were little. You live in Atlanta You live in the Buckhead section and crime has just exploded and all the major cities Democrat major cities for the most part, Democrat run major cities. But in Buckhead, you have been spearheading this effort to secede from the city of Atlanta. Where does that stand Right Right now as we speak. Thank you guys. Thanks for bringing that up. You know, it's very interesting. What's happening here in the city of Atlanta has exploited. The great people of bucket, you know who are really significant contributors to the fabric of this great city of Atlanta. So way too long. The murder rate in Buckhead Forget Atlanta. It's up 60% Atlanta But in Buckhead, it's like the Beverly Hills of Los Angeles. Is 140% since 2019 shootings are up 165% since 2019 and the mayor of Atlanta who's announced he's not Running for office 100% because we announced we're splitting from Atlanta. That is the reason why she dropped out. She knew she would never have a chance. They're about to lose a billion dollars. A year in their piggy banks from us because, you know, they get this money and they just piss it away and we're going to take our city back. We're gonna give all of the people about had a new police department, which will Not be handcuffed. They will be there to do their jobs. At the moment the mayor announced. We don't arrest shoplifters. We don't chase carjackers. We don't stop the street razors. People are living in $20 million condos here in Atlanta. They can't sleep. Elton John, you know he doesn't live here anymore. This men who literally putting billion dollar deals together in Atlantic, creating jobs. They can't sleep in their apartments there outside with decibel meters because the street racers keep him up all night, and nobody is being arrested. So this effort has great support. We have two bills in the Georgia Legislature, and this thing is going to be on the ballot in November. 22 22 And I think if you had the vote today would be 80%. "But I have to say I look at my makeup of my neighbors here where I live in the Pacers section. A bucket. I have talked to many multicultural families multiracial, You know, I have a very easily what I'm saying this that Buckhead is the most diverse. Community in all of Atlanta. The census is not correct here. It's about 25 to 35% non white and every neighbor that I know is telling me, you know. Go, go, go because they're getting attacked. Their cars are getting stolen. The rapper I hate to mention people who are You know African American, but they support us. I was out the other night I met Dallas. Austin is one of the great radio. You know, Producers we share a great mentor and Clive Davis, an old friend of ours from New York. And he told me, Bill I'm with you. You know, we got to get this fixed. I live in Buckhead and I'm afraid to go out. So, um It's very hurtful. When someone says, you know, Bill White. You're racist. They don't know me, Brian. You've known me for many years. What's our work with veterans and the intrepid and it's very painful to hear that because that that hurts my heart. It's not in my heart and we just want to get safety. I don't know why they equate racism, you know, because we want our safety is just go to narrative. It's unhelpful, and I don't think it'll side solve crime. When people say that we've got to get to the root of this and get this stuff fixed. I hear you bill taken action as usual. When you have a problem. You address it, and you lied it. Bill White CEO and chair of the Buckhead Buckhead City Committee will stay on top of this because I do hope you This is one way if we if the ballot box won't do it There's another way to hold these these to see these people making these ridiculous decisions accountable. We're leaving if you're going to if you if you're not going to watch your back, we're leaving Bill White. Thanks so much. Appreciate it, Brian. Thanks so much. You're You're amazing. I really appreciate it. No problem. Keep it up, Bill 1866. 408766 and we come back. I'll find out. Actually, I want to expand. If I can on what's happening at the border. It didn't make the Big three. But I could have had a big seven today. So what's happening at the border has got to be reined in. And the fact is When Donald Trump had these issues in 2019. No one said he wasn't trying to fix it. You might not like what he was doing was trying to fix it. When I find most astounding and disturbing is this administration doesn't seem to want to fix it. And I will not let up. That is not okay. Newsmakers and news breakers here at first only on the Brian Kill me show. Now, 173 FM and am 5 80. They've touched security. Triple team traffic. "Ed torrents Now. Brian killed me, Wdbo one. Oh 73 FM and am 5 80. Orlando's news and talk warnings are up 50%. From before Covid. Where is this coming from? Remember in Georgia and we were open up before the rest of the country, So our nightclubs in our bars remain open. We have people traveling here from across the country party in our city. We believe that giving at least 1000 young people to work this summer will help but there's still so much work to be done. And and so we deal with the systemic issues a gun balance in this country. How easily young people people with mental illnesses can access guns in this country? That is a mayor doing the unthinkable, and that is blaming the opening of a state with the rise in crime. Please tell that to Florida, Texas, Arizona, Mississippi, Uh, that opened up just as quick as Georgia. And that is someone who just can't take responsibility for being a failed leader. That's Keisha lance bottoms, it was might have been the running mate of Joe Biden. We never know. Joining us now is Bill White CEO and chair the Buckhead City committee. And why would I bring up Bill when we're talking about Atlanta? Because Bill if you have your way, as as the Buckhead City committee chair? You want to split off from the city of Atlanta? Why? That's right, Brian. How are you? First of all, Thank you for having us on really appreciate it, man. If there isn't a pro law enforcement person in the media, that's better than you. I don't know who that person. Thanks for saying that you support of our police. So mayor Bottoms will blame everything, even the kitchen sink right. She first said about six months ago that it was the rhetoric coming from President Trump that caused the crime. Now, she says, it's covid about three months ago. Now she's blaming governor Camp. The only person to blame for this is her lack of leadership. She's the chief law enforcement officer of Atlanta. We have 80 police officers, Brian End Zone to which is Buckhead. Are murders are up 133% since 2000 and 19 shootings up 164% 1 of our friends here just got shot. While out on a Sunday Saturday jog and so we feel that the people of bucket have been exploited way too long by the city of Atlanta, and we are going to form our own city. We have two bills. In the Georgia Legislature. People think this is not happening. I'm telling you right here, it's happening. We raised the requisite amount of money. We need to get this done. We have the support of the Georgia Legislature. And I know the governor is going to sign this. By the way, Brian. He is the governor camp put $5 million in the Georgia state police. On the streets in Atlanta because she won't do her job, and she's blaming everything from this to that. So it's a really sad state of affairs here, and we need leadership. We need to love our police. We need to let them do their job. That's all they want to do. We love the A P D. Bryan. These are some great amazing police officer families. We talked to them. I read the resignation letters, almost 300 of them. Have to quit since when, since last year last year, 300 of them and they won't report this and we've gotten so many letters from them saying, Hey, I've been on the job 20 years 10 years that's like 3000. Years of police experience down the toilet. We're going to hire them. In the Buckhead City Police Department when we get set up, which will be about About 2.5 years from from today. Wow. So, Bill, you guys definitely have lost the sense of peace and serenity. You don't really feel safe in doing the normal things you would do. A lot of people are saying, Okay, that's fine. But Atlanta has to let you go legislatively. Bring us through the process. Now, where do you need? Who do you need to say? Yes, who has to say yes. Yes, Brian. Thank you. I really appreciate you saying that. That's a great question. And there are some of the city of Atlanta's organized opposition is putting out a lot of misstatements and misinformation as you can imagine. They don't want to lose. You know the 40% of their tax base going in to the city. They could care less about our problems. They haven't even reached out to talk to us. To see why we filed for divorce. You know when you do that, right? It's final. But Atlanta actually has no say in this. The only authority that gives the people of Buckhead the right to vote. Their own destiny is the Georgia Legislature. And I believe that their courage will put this on the ballot in November of 2022. Those two bills come up this coming session in the winter and by April will know whether this is on the ballot or not in November. So we hope that the Georgia Legislature will keep the fight up with us and stay and fight with us because we've got to prevail. Our lives depend on it. It has become so bad here. Brian, who's so beautiful right ahead and it's you don't even want to go out to get gas without putting A gun in your pocket. That's what I do. Wow. So who decides what gets on the ballot? Uh huh. You know how the sausage is made you You really do that. This is the speaker of the Georgia Assembly. A wonderful Practicing attorney, David Ralston. He's a great conservative gentlemen. He's very fair. He's been listening to us. He's listening to the other side. I believe he will come to for us, and then we have Jeff Duncan in the Senate. I believe, despite some other things that you know people may criticize and for that he's going to come to for us. He's a good and decent man when it comes to protecting the lives of the families here, and so we have the Georgia senators and the Georgia assemblyman, But, you know, leadership controls that you know that better than anybody. You don't have the leaders. You're not getting this brought up and they're letting us be brought up. So we have great faith in them. But aren't there more people in the city of Atlanta, Buckhead and if they decide that they want that tax dollars or they don't want you to leave? You could get out voted there. The only people that are going to vote in this referendum for Buck had to be a city are the legally registered voters within the map that we've drawn for Buckhead City. A lot of folks down here. Yeah, A lot of folks down here are Spreading spreading that out that, hey, we're not going to let this happen because we vote. Atlanta's not voting. It's 90,000 residents that live in Buckhead. And between you and me. You've been talking about election integrity. We, of course, are very worried. They'll try to play a fast one. So we're very attentive to who those legally registered voters within. Our map will be, But we'll be watching that we're going to have about 800 poll watchers in our In our election booths coming up. We're not going to let them do what they might have done last time. Understood? So I know but kids a beautiful town suburbs, But it's suburban. You really represent a lot of suburbs in America. So you have the cities that are out of control with mayors that feel as though police are out of control, and the result is crime is out of control. When are people going to understand that these things are all related? Yes. You know, it's an excellent point, Brian. And I don't mean to say that maybe this could be some You know, some light here at the end of the tunnel is just craziness, the policies, the lack of leadership, the lack of support of the police, the rising crime. It's totally correlated and a friend of mine who is a clinical psychologist said if they're just telling us, Brian, why don't you just vote a new mayor? Maybe they'll change it right. So Cosima read. Was under federal investigation. Felisha more who is the current city Council president? We're not going to get anything new with them. So we don't want to look like we're insane. Doing the same thing over and over again, you know, expecting a different result, so maybe if we can do it and do it right? Maybe to be an example to other places around the country where you take control your own destiny back from the crazy people. So Bill White is the CEO and chair of the Bucket City committee. And they're looking to split off from the city of Atlanta because they cannot take the overwhelming crime and then feel as no one's been responsive in the city. So, Bill, what do you say to people who think? Well, Here's a mostly white community who just wants to split up from the black community. Well, I do appreciate that. It is a criticism that a lot of people are throwing out..

If they wanted to, perhaps question her fish have thoughts and feelings comment from the other day. I could go along with that, but, um No, Apparently they're trying to fat shame her. Which which they are. If you read that I was just reading this story. I wasn't going to necessarily do it. Um, but I'm glad I put it in the stack because I think it's kind of important in light of what we saw there in Durham where you have the WRL reporters. We're essentially caught in crossfire while they were trying to cover another story about a shooting. And all of that happened like a block from a police station. And it's just you got to stop and ask yourself. How are we? In a situation where open, you know, back and forth multiple shootings can happen to block from a police station. You know, at the very least, most people would distance themselves a little from that, but the only way that that happens as if people feel that it's a more permissive environment because they're going to get away with it. And you know, these are the things that I think of when I see those stories, So I'm also finding it very interesting. What's going on down in Atlanta? There's very nice part of Atlanta. Ross can attest this he lived in Atlanta. The folks up in the Buckhead area is about to say Buckhead. Yep. No, Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so the residents of the Buckhead area are they're very upset. Because they say that their neighborhood is being wracked by increasing violent crime and they don't feel that anything is getting done about it. And in fact, it's gotten so bad and they've been ignored essentially by the mayor of Atlanta and the police and folks there and you've seen what you're dealing with in Atlanta with the former district attorney there who was You know, going for felony murder against that police officer in the shooting at the Wendy's were the guy is literally trying to hit him with a Taser. I mean, There's a whole lot of social justice flowing through there and a whole lot of the defund the police attitude in parts of Atlanta. Well, the citizens a Buckhead, and to some extent I get their argument because the likelihood is as a percentage. They pay higher taxes. Just based on the fact that the what's a home in Buckhead worth? Oh, man. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, So there you go. And it's gotten to the point where they're sitting there and they're demanding hearings and want to be a separate entity. They want to break off from the city. The Buckhead City Committee on Thursday is demanded emergency hearings as part of an effort to become a separate entity from the city of Atlanta. They want to do so because They want to. They want to create their own police force that will actually police. I don't blame him. And and here's the thing. This is the city of Atlanta going to let That big old pile of money leave no. Would be very, very surprised, but it is It is a microcosm. It is a Petri dish if he will of the general attitude, because The citizens of that that live in the Buckhead area if they feel that they're not getting those services They may opt for private security on an individual basis. They may pull their funds for that. Obviously, they want to set set up a policing unit because then they'll have arrest powers and a variety of other things. Um, but they're they're not going to stick it out. And so what do they eventually do? They'll find they'll build some other giant ass house five FT. Outside the city limits. And you will lose that you will. You are essentially going to run a portion of the tax base out of there because You've decided that you're not going to police and Criminals who realize this realize that they're going, It's going to be a lot more advantageous for them to break into a home up in Buckhead. Then to break into a home and, you know, pick one of the poorer areas of Atlanta. That's just the reality of it. People are going to put up with it for long and so you're going to be left with, you know, we talked about yesterday. The policing side of this We're People who are good police officers who have other opportunities will leave these departments where they don't where morale is low, and you're only going to be left with the very policing and police that you complain about. Well, the residents are going to do this as well. They're going to get fed up with it. And and you know, at the at the end of the day, I'm sure that there's a lot of business owners out there that have made these decisions as well. He said. It's just not worth it to do business in that community. When I can do business, 10 ft outside of it. And those have real world implications. At the end of the day, when you look at how like budget has arrived at and how dollars are taken, uh, in a local funding situation. It's essentially let's say that Let's say that the total budget for this show was $3 million, and they just collect what Ross feels like he's getting gypped. That would be amazing. Yeah, Yeah, it's not so, but the total budget let's say the total budget for to run the show was $3 million. And let's say that you, me and Kyle are taxpayers. And let's say that my house is worth twice as much as your and Kyle's house, okay? This and for the point being that they're going to spread that $3 million tax obligation across those three homes. But I will have twice as much liability as Kyle and Ross would And that's how that's essentially a very, very, very Refined version of how this happens. It obviously gets spread over when you're talking about a municipality over a much larger area. So when That's this is why it's so important that it's the to to the totality of the dollar amount. Versus the percentage. That's where people get hung up on what their what their property tax percentages, But the reality is the faster the The easier way for that, to go up is the totality of the dollar amount to go up. Because you have a higher percentage. It goes up faster for you. Am I explaining that correctly Text from Kyle and I agree. He says All I'm getting from this conversation is that we're underpaid 100%. I demand a portion of your houses Equity and I don't believe in private property. I now own your house. Are you for? Just occupying it? Yes, I am for justice. State. You're You're killing my analogy here. Killing my analogy. Ross is now wearing a giant redfish sweatshirt, You greedy bastard. It was to point out the differential of when you lose a resident of Buckhead versus when you lose a resident of and then pick a place in Atlanta, where, with a lower property value, it's more impactful. And so when I see this story, where they Buckhead City committee in Atlanta saying, Look, you're not going to police our property. We pay a butt load of money. We want to be our own things so we can have our own police force. Yes, It's a very good example of what's happening in some communities where they've decided that policing is not a priority. And the people will leave for the same reason that companies will leave high tax countries. Everything's impactful, whether you think it's we think it's okay or or not. So.
