"Third ranked Ohio State jumped out to a 31 7 halftime lead and blew out Wisconsin 52 21 CJ Stroud through for 281 yards and 5 touchdowns but he was more impressed with the Buckeye's ability to rack up 258 rushing yards They said we couldn't run the ball whatever the case may be or they were going to stop them or whatever the case may be And they were a good team but I feel like that was a challenge to us and we wanted to step up to that Trevian Henderson provided a team high 121 yards on the ground and Mayan Williams added 101 in two touchdowns Cade stover and amika ibuka each caught two scoring strikes from Stroud who's thrown for 16 touchdowns in four games I'm Dave ferry

President Trump Explains His Endorsement of J. D. Vance

"I want to play for you what president Trump said over the weekend. He had a big rally Saturday night in Ohio. Delaware county fairgrounds. And he was there on behalf of JD JD Vance. Now, JD Vance was a never trumper. He trash talked Trump early on, didn't want him, didn't like him. Listen to how president Trump explains his endorsement of JD Vance in the Ohio Senate race. I'm very pleased to introduce the man with by far the best chance to defeat the radical Democrat nominee for the U.S. Senate. This November. And you know what? You know what? He's a guy that said some bad about me. He did. But you know what? Every one or the others did also. In fact, if I went by that standard, I don't think I would have ever endorsed anybody in the country. They all said bad, but they all came back. But I will tell you, he was tough, but the others were tough and they all, a lot of them said, some really bad things. And ultimately, I put that aside, by the way, he's been like incredible in the last period of time, long period of time. And so have the others, for the most part, I guess in all cases, the others. But I have to do what I have to do. We have to pick somebody that could win. And this guy is, he's tough. He's smart. He's a former marine. He's a Yale educated lawyer, a great student, you know, went to Yale, got a law degree. He's a great student. He's a fearless maga fighter. He fights like crazy and he loves Ohio and he frankly, he's a great Buckeye. So what I'd like to do is ask JD Vance. Come

"But I hate having to pick and choose among Republicans I like. I like Josh mandel in Ohio. I like JD Vance in Ohio. There's a lot of Republicans who are vying for a Senate seat in the Buckeye state. And there are Republicans who are scratching their heads over president Trump's endorsement of JD Vance. Now you know JD Vance. He's the guy that wrote hillbilly elegy. He's always on TV. Tucker loves him. He's on Fox News a lot. And he's much more of a populist America first Republican. The kind of Republican that I think great broadcasters like Mark Levin don't really like. I don't think Mark Levin is on board with JD Vance. I think he's a Josh mandel guy. But see, this is the problem. When we big mouths on the radio have to pick favorites or play favorites, then what do you do when your guy doesn't get the nod? I hate getting involved in primaries. I didn't do it in 2016 or 20 or at all. I was all on board with president Trump when he became the nominee. My policy in 2016 and I'm going to stick to it every election for the rest of my life. I'm not going to try to influence you over which Republican should be picked or should win because frankly, any Republican would be better than any Democrat. "What is the sleeper issue? Is it fracking? Is it agriculture? Is it the water of Lake Erie that the other states want? What is the sleeper issue that national people like me who don't get back to the Buckeye state often enough are talking about? You know, more and more I'm hearing about energy. I was with a group of people last night, Ohio is a huge manufacturing state. People are starting to really recognize that our energy policies are not only failing us economically, but failing us in a national security standpoint. Ohioans, we've had over 80,000 Ukrainians here. They recognize that. Joe Biden's policies to make us energy policies that are attacking our oil and gas industry. We have over 250,000 jobs here in Ohio related to the oil and gas industry. So people are waking up to our energy policies that the Democrats have failed us on.

"He knows what it takes to win on the west coast. That is very attractive to them. I think the other candidates that i think would would now. This one is not a great one coming off of what happened in ames yesterday. Matt campbell is somebody that. Usc folks definitely have gotten familiar with these. Wrap their head around that one and then there is. Luke fickle who obviously has the connection having worked and been hired by mike bone at cincinnati. Who's now the. I don't know if i honestly i don't know if any of those guys would take the job but i think if you're if you're the president i think you got a you got to think about okay. That's something we do. I mean the guy long thought made the most sense for. Usc was james. Franklin at from penn state. I don't know if she would make that higher. Jane franklin make that move but to me. That's kind of where i think if you're them that's how your search needs to look at can't be like ooh jack del. Rio was like you know a former really good player here. And there's a lot of coaching experience. Or jeff fisher or you know like usc as a way of us seeing some of these things whether it's the the lynn swann ad higher whatnot. I think that they need to really start mentally wrapping their heads around. Who can we get to come here. And what is it gonna take for them to feel like they can win here. Let me get one other on. Usc just from just from talking to people around the coaching world One of the the issues as well as people who've who've been on clay hilton staff one of the issues that we've talked about this. I've i've written a couple columns about it for the athletic about. The problem is really monday through friday problem as much as anything about how they practice. It is not with the same level of intensity and urgency that a lot of other places practice with and i think you're going to hear some people who are going to know that all comes back to clay helton also and there's a lot of people who look at it and go well. He went air raid. And if you go air-raid it's hard to go. Only air raid a little bit Now obviously at works to a degree at oklahoma in that you know lincoln riley does that but also you know so. Much of their programs really defined by the offense of lying guy bill beating. Bow the run game that they have. And i think that you know kind of addresses the physicality and the way they practice. I'm not sure you have that. From what i understand that at usc and it's just keeps showing up as an issue and again. It's it's about what they what they you hear about. What their practices are like and the lack of physicality and the lack of urgency. And that's undermining it every step of the way so that's probably one pack toko chena soy planned to bring this up on our run the subject. Do you think washington is going to have a cookie opening after this year because two games in they are terrible. Just terrible and jimmy. Lake took over from chris peterson. He didn't exactly. This wasn't a mike. Novell's getting a lot of heat. Today they are into. They just lost a jacksonville state but we knew he inherited a dumpster fire. Jimmy lake took over for chris. Peterson is handpicked successor. And they gave up. Michigan ran for three hundred fifty yards on them. Want the same they lost on. I wouldn't in scored one touchdown. They couldn't move the ball against michigan. Either team can rebound. I'm not saying they can't rebound but it just looks like they're not remotely the same program. They were under pierce. Look i mean morio crystal. Go back to them for a second. Who his co. coordinators. Tim tim order proven. You know terrific defensive coordinator former head coach and joe moorhead terrific play caller former head coach right. And you know. I think you you and i both have talked a little a lot. A little bit on the podcast but a lot offline about very very underwhelmed by the to coordinator hires jimmy lake made john donovan. John donovan who did not was ver- very underwhelming tenure at penn state. That was the guy to run the offense. And then bob gregory gregory was the first choice for jimmy liked to be the defensive coordinator that higher like i think is i think to me. This is really comes back to the offense. I think defensively they will get some of. It's sorted out. It wasn't like michigan. Threw the ball over the place. Michigan's really committed to the run. I think they have a good run game right now. I don't. I don't think it's the defense that's the issue. I think it's like ken. They fix the offense. I mean if you're jen cohen the ad there she's not going to like do be very knee jerk and go okay. Jimmy like can't get it done. They know i think they are. You're talking about a guy who still still really kind of growing into the job as the head coach. The issue is if you if you met and again. It's i i don't think they're gonna fire the offense coordinator whatever it is. It's five games in because they didn't have much of a season last year games wise but two weeks in you lost to montana kind of unthinkable. I get it. You had all your receivers out or most of them and then you get you get whipped by michigan you know We'll see we'll see if if at the very least if they don't get a lot better on offense. Jimmy likes going to have to hire new offense coordinator This winter back to the podcast in a second but first a word about wealth front they can create a portfolio of globally diversified. Low cost index funds personalized. Just for you in minutes. No manual trades no picking stocks no watching the stock market everyday. They know we're talking about like iowa what they look like. I don't think just based on what i saw the first couple weeks. It doesn't to me. They do not look like a top ten team right now they just they just. Don't look that good but again they can get better. They have a bunch of good running backs. But i think if the quarterback play you know doesn't get get a lot better fast again. I mean it's like colorado i would i would think is yes. They had that a nice season last year. Amid the pandemic i don't think colorado is is one of the five or six best teams in the pac twelve. You know to be honest. And so yeah i get it. It was a road environment but it was just like i don't know i it was. It was a really really shaky performance but look at least they got out of there with a win. If you lose that game backup quarterback or not because it's not like like seized quarterback has hardly any experience either I think you're looking at it. Going man The pac twelve has a couple of like win that we didn't see common on saturday and that would have in some ways almost more surprised if if a loss there then if if ohio state did again i think this respected am to to blow them out remember the colorado i know texas and texas ama- to to i'm sure yet extra strain antilock fun Texas's expense yesterday. But i'd remind them that texas colorado fifty five twenty three in the ballgame in tom. Her and still backfire. That's at tau. And they also by the waited and they also by the way did it from the second half with their backup quarterback. Yes so. I know bowl games can be very deceiving colorado missing a lotta guys but this is a team that if you are truly it colorado the team that you're truly a top five team in eighty m you go you take your business. You don't need a last minute touchdown touchdown the game to win the game. You know what do you know who looked really awful yesterday. While a lot of teams read it was very lot allowed. You have to narrowly down between florida's states notre dame will get to florida state and the second Gay usc now. Neither one of us think that much of usc but stanford got whipped by k. State in week one just absolutely embarrassed in week one and then stanford blows out. Usc the just you know like a so. Let's let's talk about the elephant. The room here. Klay helton's jobs job status. I hope we don't have to talk about it much longer. I hope they'll just like rip off the band aid or year of this. Here's what i think it comes down to. 'cause i've had people had people ask this a bunch in the last ten hours about what's going to happen to clay helton. How soon before they fire him. My gut is when the usc leadership realizes fans are going to just not come and and that could happen very soon after yesterday because they were flocking out of the stadium. There were disgusted by what they saw. And i think if it becomes that because it's not like they're gonna look a usc leadership is going to say. Yeah let's make graham. Harrell or todd orlando the interim and if it goes great than how we got our guy. I think you look at their schedule and their schedule. Is you know like you were staring at what should have been a relatively easy. Five and start. You got san jose state. They beat them handily. Although not impressively stanford which looked awful in week one washington state which is just a mess. That's on the road though. And then you have oregon state and at colorado. I mean unless you had arizona in there. It couldn't have gotten easier if you're a pack twelve team right and so but now i am interested to see what happens against washington state and then they have that game with You know oregon state if nobody shows up to see oregon state I don't know i. I wouldn't be surprised that it would. It would make them say all right. We can't do this any longer. you know it's it's rare to see somebody get fired two weeks in season because you kind of knew what you have with klay halton. You know Rainy etzel got fire. Two games into the season ready edsel had a spectacular dumpster fire on his hands. Like you can't like it would almost be like clay helton sending out eight guys on the field to play like. I don't want you know you'll is struggling. They're not what you con- football is right now. This tweet i got from alton catch fire last night the was over yet I've been a die hard. Usc fan for over thirty years. I'm actually enjoying this. There can be no more excuses. No more cover-ups. No more assistant shuffling. It's over finally the administration estimate. Move in you. And i you know especially you being heard that sentiment a lot I don't think they'll find on jinx or stay this and then by the time the podcast out. I think he's getting fired today. But we know how. It's going to end and i just gotta say so first of all stanford david. Josh should should've started tan ricky. I don't know if they would have beaten kansas state but he should've been the starting quarterback he's too loyal. This is a this is a pattern is to be loyal to the upperclassmen. Anyway engage jack west that chance but that doesn't doesn't excuse was a typical clay helton game where they committed penalties the penalty. They had a punt blocked they they just just a lot of self inflicted wounds Heck the kicker dejected on the first play of the game targeting. I'm not gonna blame that on. Clay helton though E- just you can't. This was supposed to one of the more winnable games on their schedule. Stamp stanford i mean. I thought this was too pessimistic. But they're over under win. Total communities was four so it's a bad loss. There's no way around it. And any notion that i mean. Is it like that guy on twitter. Said they've they've spent the money they've brought in new assistance. They've beefed up their staffed personnel and nothing changes and if anything i feel bad for kaeding slowest he's regressing I know they don't have quite as many great receivers as they did before. But they got one really good one and He's now you're in a situation where like a lot of the. Us rooting against them. Which is not fair to the players. But you know they want this to be over with so Joke last night whether get tarmac. Linkin did after a home game. Actually think that's going to happen But i would say this bruce. Y'all you're always the one when there's coaching change or you do your candidate. Who were the top candidates. If i were to write your usc now sorta written still so. I will not be any probably as is coaching. Usc coaching profile story. Ready to go as well. I would think if you're a. Us fan you're looking up at the pac twelve north and going man. Mario cristobal recruiting better than we are. He's an ol- line guy. He wants to be physical..

"And yet you turned on the TV or you were at that game. Boy was the exact opposite. Let's start things off with your Sunday gun slinger. In football's Wild west. He shoots from the hip. We need men like him to make towns safer, Decent people. D A is the Sunday gun slinger to shoot? Shoot? Don't talk. Alright, let's do it. We thought That the Buckeyes would crush the line of scrimmage. We thought the Oregon offense would run into the teeth of this Buckeyes D with five star recruits all over it, and we figured that the Ohio State passing game was going to create some big plays and Probably win this game by 17 21 point, something like that, and instead The flip happened and the Oregon Ducks at Salute, Lee blew the Buckeyes off of the line of scrimmage and running the football. Yesterday, Oregon ran for 269 yards. Averaging seven point want to clip for three touchdowns and CJ Verdell have yourself a game. Brown wants the staff has got it. Give it a hurdle busted up the middle. Here we go as he got the speed 50 40 30. 2010 touchdown. CJ Byrd, Ill. Yes, he's got this speed. We feel that we've been building towards us. For a while now, but we're not there yet. I don't want to in any way, shape or form. Give that impression or not, And our guys know that too. But we've taken massive steps. I think identity showed up. Um, I think resiliency showed up. I mean, all the things that you hammer home why we practice like we practice. It's validated when you come out here and you do something like this. That's Mario Crystal ball after the huge victory on the play by play Geri Allen Lear Field, AMG College. The Ducks gashed Ohio State all day long, and some of it was misdirection. They kept running. That sweet play left at Ohio State had no answer for nobody there to defend and the speed of Oregon was obvious. But every time that the Buckeyes seemed to have a chance to drive a possession of moment to seize control back, Oregon blew him off the line of scrimmage, ran the football right down their throats and went right down the field on him. For Oregon put up five touchdowns on the road in the Horseshoe yesterday was a sight to behold, and let's give crystal ball massive credit. For building Oregon to the point now where they already legitimate national championship contender. You have to take them seriously now. Because they just went on the road to a place we thought they had no chance of winning. And won handily. I know the final score was only seven points. But throughout the game the Ducks just had controlled and I think that's a big what happened to the Buckeyes defense and also a big eye opener in the National championship College football playoff race because Oregon right now has A wail of a victory, huge quality victory. And if Oregon wins the Pac 12, they're absolutely making the college football playoff unless they win the Pac 12 with four losses or something like that. I mean, you'd have to imagine Right now that's going to end up being one of the best victories of the college football season going on the road to beat Ohio State. That wasn't a neutral site game. You know Georgia B Clemson, but that's a neutral site win. That could be that could end up being the best way to the college football season and the Ducks and the Pac 12 needed it so desperately, Crystal Ball gets his signature win. The Ducks are feeling good. Now you can't blow it. You can't end up losing a bunch of games, The Pac 12 But for the ducks to do that quack, quack fly high. That was an amazing performance..

269 yards CJ Verdell AMG College The Pac 12 17 Buckeyes CJ Byrd Lee Pac 12 five star seven points five touchdowns Yesterday yesterday Oregon Ducks Ohio State Georgia B Clemson Ducks 50 Brown

"It's that time What's your plan of the week. Well now i have to cheat and go with plants. And i had the good fortune thursday of being in an area where i had helped the client plant a whole bunch of things and one of which was five bottle. Brush buckeyes. now hello dalai. What is it. Is it a shrub or small tree when it was planted it was shrub and unfortunately a little bit like the ugly duckling. They aren't very impressive when they're little. They are so hard to get going because each one comes from an individual seed. They're very hard to propagate so they're very expensive and here we are. I don't know twelve fifteen years later and they're sitting on a hillside. Oh sixty eighty arch. And where i was and they were taken like bottle rockets and exactly what it is bottle. Brush buckeye In its present stage at around six or seven feet tall. It can go to twelve or so then. Is it a tree with multiple stems or is it a great big shrub will. It doesn't matter because it's beautiful it sitting on a hillside. It's been in some significant shade but not dark by any means and while I didn't have to look to for the leaves. They didn't have to walk up to them to figure out what they were. They were bottle rockets. Taken off beautiful and then the second plant is is part of we'll call it the holiday period Russian sage is a perennial very gray. Leaves very very very heat tolerant during the summertime standing right now between knee and pocket high Light minty blue gray leaves and so on toughest nails now you can get to three years out of the same plant then you either have to divide move on or by news whatever but it is a perennial. It's doing its thing right now. So we have the white of the bottle brush. We have the white russians. I'm sorry the laid blue ration- sage kind of sticking up. And if you have then some red salvia someplace red white and blue all that'll work colors of the fourth..

"The basketball Buckeye is this guy really falling for them to me right now it's drooping kind of feels like it that they're in the basement of the big ten there to win five and where I mean it doesn't feel like it was that long ago that we're talking about them being the second best team in the country and deserving of the top spot in the AP top twenty five all this past Monday because of that double digit loss to Penn state over the weekend they were knocked out for the first time all season so they are unranked we take on the floor against the Minnesota golden gophers six thirty is the tip from the Schottenstein center tonight and it really all started in Minneapolis back in December the gophers got the Buckeyes eighty four to seventy one and then a couple games became a couple more games and all of a sudden a high states five of eight they've lost to teams and they really have any business losing to Indiana Penn state most recently and you just got to make shots and be tough is was what they've been saying in that they so easy to say right but that you got to do it on the court now now that double digit win against Nebraska the last week of the great you're supposed to be teams like that Nebraska's two and six in conference play so you've just got one last loss than they do in the big ten in the big ten is the best team in the best conference in the country that's the undisputed in my opinion but why states not supposed to be in the basement specially when you've got a ranked right Christine now they lost last night SO records on Monday probably won't be ranked anymore but when they're in the top twenty five and you are not that that's a problem and that's not necessarily a sky is falling type problem but it go a game at a time I mean this is a they can basically look across town a nationwide arena and see with the blue jackets of done injuries low expectations game at a time mentality and twenty two games later that day one sixteen of them and they've got they've earned the most points since December so I I I think they have a very good example in this city of what to do when things are tough and things are not going as well as you'd like you get together yet toughen up and you go win one game at a time the jackets did that they won six in a row and you know team at the beginning of the season and we've been saying this since based first started the season that the jackets are supposed to be really doing anything because that Austin Erin they lost Bob they've built they built a really good street Yanis corpus solid being studied that helped and I got about a dozen or so injuries and now they're getting healthier Oliver Bjorke strand coming back and had to go back yeah it's been a really a season to remember for this team and and just look they were fun last year but this year they've been up fun and you enjoy the entire team guys like Nathan Kirby who really don't have any business in the NHL considering his size a that that's just the way it looked I'm a vertically challenged guy myself I have any aspirations of playing professionally but he's a guy on the ice that you look for as a spark plug all five four and thirty two years old very cool that's that's half legal you know at that so yeah the basketball guys just get the win tonight there in north there in Chicago on Sunday taken on northwestern at six thirty but then just keep plugging away at this big ten stretch that doesn't get any easier and no and the season hopefully with a good spot in the big ten dot I I still think they're gonna make the NC double a tournament but he's got again game at a time getting the conference champs get into the conference tournament and just Haldeman's always had his team's playing the best basketball margin so that's exactly what you want to do and it's the same thing with the blue jackets when you come out of this into the second half of the season next Saturday just play the consistent brand of hockey that you've been playing and you will find yourself in the playoffs adult years and it looks like a Sebastian Kaplan's gonna take a two shot lead in the farmers insurance open into Friday's second round he seven under there's a bunch of guys at five under Tiger Woods is to wonder hit a bogey free front ninety started on the back nine of the north course at Torrey pines so you know what yeah you got a dog would just three under I should not document shot but he'll go in to tomorrow at three under that just you know four shots off the lead to good for tiger from the central Ohio Honda dealer "Trevor Lawrence had one of his worst games throwing the ball completing fifty four percent of of his passes eighteen to thirty three. He was four of thirteen over ten yards. He was twelve. Twelve behind. Line of scrimmage or under ten yards in the middle of the field so really he completed some easy ones some stuff decent attacking the linebackers but really didn't throw the ball. Where Shit anywhere else? Justin Ross was targeted. Eleven Times he was one for six over ten yards. Five hundred ten yards four. Those behind the line of scrimmage so safe to say Justin Ross got shut down t higgins targeted seven. Sometimes now granted. He missed a lot of the first half with a concussion protocol. But he's two of five past the line. Scrimmage zero targets downfield over twenty yards. Clemson could not move the line of scrimmage and that was a testament to the three inside D. Lineman that played outstanding leaders Jay Sean Cornell and Dave on Hamilton but but all in all heartbreaking for the buckeyes absolutely heartbreaking. And you could blame officiating all you want. You can talk talk about any call. All you want as the Miami hurricanes how that goes the moral of the story is when you have the ball in your hands at the end of the game you have to win it. Clemson did Ohio state didn't period. You can bitch about anything else you want. The game is GONNA to come down to a drive at the end. And you have to seal the victory. Trevor Lawrence. Did Justin feels did not that is. Why clemson won the game? Not because of any zebras not because of any officiating. Hard pill to swallow. That shit happens. That's part of the game. When you control what you can control you? Go Out and win the game but hope you enjoyed the analysis really really sick for the Buckeyes. Obviously a lot of close ties to the program a lot of close ties to the players. A lot of close ties to the coaching staff so heartbreaking. I really felt like they were the best in the country but I did know that those are the best teams in the country. They were GonNa play and whoever came out in my opinion is going to win the National Championship. But we'll talk about that more next week. It really excited about our next episode later this week have a special guest coming on hopefully still working to finalize it someone to kind of give us some insight into the locker room after the championship or the playoff game. kind of the whole season really reflect on his career. "Center snaps the ball. Everyone's standing up and they just bulldoze Clemson's defense on what an awesome schemed up play. Then there was another example in the past game. I think the next play where the pass breaks breaks down on a huge escape under duress by Justin fields with a scramble for a big gain and they immediately go tempo. They shot the cage hill and it was dropped their broken up. Whatever you WANNA call it I mean it was certainly broken up to some extent but I will say that is a play that Caja makes ninety percent of the time huge? Play in hindsight when you watch his drive layout so call it a dropped. Call it a broken up pass either way. That is a play that I C K J making ninety percent of the time they'll have stay stays with tempo and venables can't can't get subs and it changes their third and nine thirty four. Now they can simply hand it to master teague and he powers I down another checkmark Ryan Against Brent Venables I down they take a shot to Austin Mac at the goalpost and in a game of inches. It is just out of bounds. Great throw phenomenal catch. We're talking six inches inches from a touchdown. Oh Hindsight's twenty twenty isn't it the foreshadowing second down. They have the perfect call. You can't have a better coal clemson brings a blitz. They call a slip screen. It's a walk in touchdown and Jake has his second costly costly drop. third-down was well covered fields. Get stuck on Ben. Victor and didn't read the play out. He's Ben Victor on a full field progression. Just get get stuck there and has to throw it away again. Three points for the Buckeyes had he read it out. I think you had an uncut and a and a post on the backside by Chris Alavi. One of them would've been six the score. Sixteen to nothing at this point should be twenty four. Nothing if you ask me if Jay catches the pick play and then the other series series K J hill or jk Dobbins catch the ball on the fifth drive. You're talking about two touchdowns. Instead of two field goals was inevitable fugel. The score should have been twenty four nothing. The first drive was just a poor finish. And that'll happen. You can't say should have been twenty eight nothing no it should enough. It definitely should have been twenty four nothing but that first drive. Dr Clemson stopped Ohio State. You can't just say it should have been twenty. Because they got close Clemson stopped will have stayed on the first drive. Three drops cost eight points in the final score. That would've been a difference maker next. They looked terrible travis city and couldn't run the ball Miss Communications in the past game. Their offense is essentially run Trevor Lawrence which Buckeye fans know all too well with the days. That won't win the big game. And then Sean Wade comes up with a huge sack to force fourth and fifteen and sh- rattles trevor Lawrence. We all know what happened there and I won't spend too much time on it because the officials got it right. It is a bullshit rule. It's been a bullshit. Rule targeting was intended for the Oklahoma. Hit hit that objected. Buki that's what targeting is for the only thing you could say is targeting one of the stipulations Ford Ford to be targeting is the the ball carrier has to be defenseless and Trevor Lawrence certainly was tucking the ball and ducking and was not defenseless defenseless. That's the only thing you can say other than that Sean Wade lowered lowered his head hit with the crowd. His helmet went helmet-to-helmet. That is an injection as the rules. State it so don't be visit. The refs be pissed. It the rulemakers it does need to change. It's outrageous. I mean it's not even football anymore. For what Sean we did. That is day one football a sack the quarterback curls up and you you hit them art but if it was Ohio Ohio state and it was flipped. We'll have state fans would be saying he went helmet-to-helmet. That's an ejection. And then you watch. What happened? Sean he gets injected. Amir reap comes in by the way who I played really well but in his first series at a little nervous and as expected clemson immediately takes a shot on him goes for a touchdown. Tries to throw a touchdown down enemy repossess. Pi Penalty still stalls. Clemson out gives the third down and then Travis at the end shows the player that I've said he was all year in a lot of people have said he wasn't right. You guys listen to other shows. Pay attention to the media or people that think there in the media. They're trying to say he's not that good. He's not better than Jonathan Taylor. He's not this not that. If you watch that play he is he is that they stole. CLEMSON out. Get the third down Jordan Fuller forces a cutback was it. A missed tackle by Jordan Fuller. Absolutely but what happened. Was Tyler Friday and really the whole Defense Taylor. Friday specifically had a horrible pursuit angle. And you cannot do that with Travis. That's yet you can't when he goes to cut back because Jordan Fuller takes away the that stretch to the outside there has to be someone in his ear hole not running to the pylon where he can cut back underneath them. which is what China Friday? They did horrible pursuit angle. Sixteen seven Clemson now. The momentum has turned a little bit not only because because of the ejection not only because of the penalty not only because of the Pi but then because of poor pursuit. You can't stack three mistakes. On top of each other like that or momentum will shift then then as predicted with a momentum football game will how it goes three and out there to negative yardage runs the momentum Menem and swagger on defense was different from Clemson at this point now in the game. They are taking Ohio states ass upfront. The line of scrimmage ages going in Clemson's favor every snap then the next day or the next series. Click the ball back. And that's when you see. Trevor Lawrence have a huge sixty seven yard. Run for a touchdown and it's a lot like I talked about with Jalen hurts when you play man coverage gets a quarterback that can run and I get a lot of people didn't know trevor overlords could run man coverage everyone's back to the ball and both Sharon Brown and me Carson run with travis at yen so there's no whole player no spy or Russia Integrity for quarterback scramble or draw Josh proctors completely out of control misses the tackle because he didn't have his cleats in the ground. And here you watch that six foot six long haired son of a gun. run down the sideline for sixty seven yards and a touchdown. The next drive Ohio state comes out with an entirely different given offense a plant. The land scrimmages on the other side. Now they're actually moving clemson and then they start doing that bullshit seven-man pro three man routes else. I can't stand it and I've talked about it all year. I just don't like it. Second down is a three man rush. You had three receivers trying to find a window with eight eight men in coverage it's not going to happen not against a defense like that then on third down the off his line of Master tieger stuffed stays. He's another three and out so now's the end of half an all. Momentum shifted one of the best players on the BUCKEYES team is watching the game in the Locker Room and J K Dobbins is not one hundred percent minimum stakes this far but that will change in the second half. Now tell you this Ohio State Specifically Damodar Ornette and Jeff Okuda. They come out second half and don't allow clemson anything. The first drive enforce a point one of the biggest plays of the game was when we'll L. Spears punt that rolls out and his downside to five and what a day that kid at seven points average almost forty five yards a punt. He flipped the field that was difference maker in the game game. So here's your goal on offense any offense you get the ball in the five year goal is not to drive ninety five yards of score. Obviously you'd like to do that. Obviously that is a hope. But your goal the your objective that you must get accomplished as you have to get to first downs and then get the ball out of that. Backed up area and flip. The field in Justin Stanfield did that with his arm on first down. He had a nice throwing catch. Ben Victor then hit a strike to Caja Hill in the middle of the field and it was mission accomplished then the end end up getting a great punt from drew. Kristen and it's down by Chris Alavi and Clemson his pin at the one yard line. That is all that you can ask for when you're backed up like that now a lot of people are gonNA say. JK was banged up. That's why the that was a huge problem right. The run game struggles were because Jay had a banged wind up ankle. And I'll tell you after watching the film that wasn't the issue. The momentum front was entirely different after those first four or five drives. The run game was was getting stuffed. And the line of scrimmage getting pushed in Clemson's favor I don't care how healthy was I don't care who's taking the ball from Justin fields. If the line of scrimmage scrimmage is in the wrong direction it's not going to be a good day running the ball. So clemency cleanse the ball in Ohio state holds Clemson at the fifteen and it looks like there's there's GonNa be an opportunity for fields in the offense to get great field position. This was field position plan to win football at its finest two first downs punt the ball. Pimento stop at the fifteen. Now you're looking at getting the ball at midfield to score. The percentage of scoring touchdowns goes from like two or three percent at the five yard line and to like forty to fifty to sixty percent around the fifty. That's a huge advantage. And then they rough the punter it. It was a critical error not in scheme not in aggression. That's what Ohio State had to do to win the game and you've watched it pay off you've seen blocked punts you've seen it affect the game in you know how states favor but what happened that. I don't know if it was not taught but being a punt block coach you have to teach is they brought there's zone side of the punt demand side so zone zone side. They all blocked towards the center. When they do that you have your guys rushing the punt chase the heels to make it hard for the next guy outside to block them? And you see Chris Alavi get off scot-free the guy didn't touch him and Cameron Brown comes off the edge. What happens if you get two guys coming off? The edge is there is not room for both of them to come around the shield and blocked the punt so the outside guy as he's rushing has to see that Alavi got free three and asked to pull up Cam. Brown didn't do that and I'm sure he wasn't taught that. So he ends up getting forced into the punter by Chris Lava because two guys are free off the edge of the shield now. We can debate all day long was running into the kicker roughing the kicker I actually think it was running into the kicker which would not give them a first down. So that's that's that's a splitting hairs. Call right there. I mean you really have to. If you're going to rely on a roughing versus running into the punter call. You're going to blame Matt for losing a game. You really have are not paying attention to the game but Roughing the punter means that potter could have been injured like it was that bad of a An an a instance and occurrence and in this scenario I think cam rebound just hit him as he was in the area fell down. It should have been running into the punter. But that's it is a huge difference it would've impacted with the game but you you live with that but plays like that shift momentum even further and two plays later Travis Eddie and showed everyone what I've been talking about. They couldn't get the run game. So what Jeff Scott and.
