"We start NFL live with the dolphins visiting the Chargers on Sunday Night football, Dan Orlovsky's second quarter is where we're going to pick this one up. These two quarterbacks connected, aren't they? Rolling right, fighting Mike Williams. Yeah, this throat. Full speed to the right up over a defender, only where Mike can go get it. It's absolutely perfect by Herbert. Stanky leg, too. Ensuing dolphins possession, Jeff Wilson, up the middle for the first, but he gets stripped of the football. There's a scrum for the ball and it pops out. Tyreek hill picks it up, and that man is gone. Some would say this is the best design the dolphins had all night offensively. Just a great luck by Tyree kill and then obviously running away from everybody else. Yeah, it's run arms said desserts a ton of credit there. The dolphins close it to ten to 7 wild. If they would make it come back, look at Mike mcdaniel, he's like, ah, that's okay. We'll take it. Closing seconds of the half. Chargers fourth and goal. Austin Eckler rumbles his way into the end zone the Chargers lead by ten going into the half and just over 5 seconds to play. Chargers leading by 6. We're going to close it out. Herbert takes himself. Awesome. We saw it a couple times last night. Look at what I love is when it gets up. Just a little bit of like moxie right there. That's scrambled essentially seals the game. I'd love to see that from Herbert. The Chargers hang on to win it. 23 to 17 over the dolphins. Welcome to NFL live. You heard Dan, now you see him, and there's Mena times in market spears with us. Today, we got a lot to get to for the next hour. We'll get to all that. But let's start with LA. 360 5 yards in the air for Herbert last night. Why did he have so much success? Well, listen, it was because they decided to deviate from standing him in the middle of the pocket like a statue. And they decided to move and move the launch point. Get Justin Herbert to be athletic. And you can see here, this was the throw you were there just talking about. But this one right here, back across the field to Mike Williams. This is the ability that just to Herbert has. You cleared the picture for him a little bit. Again, underneath, not a design rollout, but you get him his face buying time, he can throw a pinpoint accurate football. It has so much to do with just his ability to see everything once he's on the move. Y'all coincidentally, last night, Justin Herbert went ten 40 11 for one 64. Guess what this was? Career highs in completion and yards. Outside of the pocket. So I don't know if Joe loved more than watch the show Friday. I don't know if the coaching staff watched the show. But somebody got to somebody within the Los Angeles charges organization and said, maybe it's a good idea to get this 6 5 shot board on the outside of the line of scrimmage so he can dominate with his arm that he has. Yeah, and to be fair, it wasn't just Friday. We've all been saying that for a while. On the move and take advantage of who you have at quarterback. Okay, so we're giving him his flowers as he deserves them Justin Herbert. But to Herbert's counterpart to a tongue by Lewis, completed only 35% of his passes when he was given a clean pocket. A scenario that should be favorable for a quarterback, right? That's the second worst completion percentage with a clean pocket by any QB in a game this season. Ahead of only Zach Wilson a few weeks ago against the Patriots, of course, we know what happened after that. That was the game that led to Wilson being benched. So Mina were too a struggles on him or was it something that chargers defense was doing that really got him out of sorts? What happened? Come on. Well, I would say it was his inability to respond to what the Chargers were doing. Mike Lee Daniel as well. But I want to focus on the charger side of this because it was a brilliant game plan. So well executed. And notably, it was actually different from what San Francisco did last week. So you guys remember I talked about last week how the niners corners did press a little bit to disrupt the timing of those dolphins wide receivers. But even though they press and got some pressure, guys were still open. Actually, about two thirds of two targets were to wide open receivers last week, meaning three yards or more of separation. This week, the Chargers quarterbacks pressed even more and they took away the middle of the field through a combination of leverage from their quarterbacks and then the linebackers and safeties. And as a result, only a third of to his targets were to open receivers. That does not happen with this dolphins offense. Guys are usually wide open. So I just wanted to give flowers to Brandon staley and then to this secondary that was banged up coming into this game just putting on quite a performance last minute. MK, I think last night is the blueprint to stop this Miami defense, not the two weeks ago from San Francisco. You talked about the leverage. The reality was, there was no one opened last night, and you could watch how tua because he has so much confidence and trust in the scheme in the offense was throwing to cover guys. This is the leverage that Mina's talking about. Look how both those defenders are higher inside. Two is thrown it because he realizes that it has been open so many times this year. What wasn't yesterday because the leverage of their plane. There's a leverage again. High and inside forcing everybody or at least the ball to get thrown to the perimeter, there is that contested or covered throws. And now it's like, well, tua gets impatient because all the plays that he has seen work for such a long period of time this season aren't and he's like, then the forces come and I I've said this about this Kyle Shanahan, Gary kubiak offense before with Kirk Cousins a little bit is the quarterback becomes so confident in the play call that sometimes they don't even see the defense after the snow. The coach is so good. I hit my back foot completion that when it doesn't happen, you can get impatient and that's when you started to see some of those forces from tua when guys were open. Yeah, that's fascinating because it almost gives credit to what the offense was doing before. But that's why I think it could be a blueprint for other teams to copy it. I actually want to do it for touchscreen Tuesday. Well, there's a little tease. So we'll see if that happens tomorrow. And if our producers listen to you. Also, Mina mentioned that the dolphins receivers weren't open. Well, they averaged only 2.8 yards of separation on their targets last night. That's their lowest in a game this season. We talked about earlier in the season how they were just wide open, wider open than anybody else in the entire league. Let's get to some top stories from Sundays. We bring Adam Schefter in here for the show, Adam, jets, quarterback Mike white, had to go to the hospital after the loss to buffalo. What do we know there? They check for internal injuries and once he was cleared their law, they were allowed him to go home with the team last night, they are now saying that he's day to day with the rib injuries that he suffered on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Now, Mike white's going to want to play this week against the Detroit lions. The question is whether the medical staff will allow him to do it, it's up in the air as of now a decision will be reached later this week and Russell Wilson was knocked unconscious on this play was out and because of that he's now in concussion protocol and typically when you're knocked unconscious like this, you suffer a concussion and you're out. It's difficult to come back and play the next week would not be a surprise to see Russell Wilson missed the next game, but does want to come back and play beyond that. We saw a disturbing incident yesterday where Jerry Judy took off his helmet, charged at an official. There was no penalty called on this play, but I'm sure that Jerry Judy will be hearing and receiving a letter from the league office with some sort of fine. We'll see how that plays out this weekend. The big injury yesterday, of course, was the forty-niners wide receiver deebo Samuel going down on this play here where he fumbled the football had to be carted off the field invisible distress, but it looks like right now. He's still undergoing testing, the injury doesn't appear to be a serious as it looked yesterday when he was carted off Kyle Shanahan say yesterday. He thinks it's a high ankle sprain. I was told it's possibly could be back during the regular season, which is great news, but make no mistake about it right now. He certainly poised to miss multiple weeks, but the question is, how soon he'll get back and the testing that he's doing right now should tell the story there, Laura. Yeah, good to hear. After you saw the severity of the injury, it looked a lot worse than hopefully it actually is. They have the Seahawks this week, the forty-niners do. And let's talk about that game, Adam, is more from you throughout the show. They're taking on the bucks, Tom Brady's bucks, of course, Tom Brady. Love the forty-niners as a kid, sort of the second quarter, forty-niners, the second and goal from the two and purdy can't find anyone open so he says, you know what, I'm gonna do it myself. I just love how fast the decision was made. No one's there, second to go take off and go get a touchdown. Forty-niners extend their lead 14 to nothing just over 5 minutes left in the half and the niners second 9

I don't think they would without him. I don't think the Seahawks would with the current quarterbacks that they have. I think their hopes and opportunities would be appreciably upgraded if Mayfield goes to Seattle. I think Seattle should still be monitoring whatever the hell is happening in Cleveland. That's for sure. What else? You want to I'm not switching anymore. I've taken my finger off that chess piece. All right, so they both had four wins last year. All right, last one. How about last year's number two seed? Who's more likely to jump up and get the buy? Bucks are chiefs. Oh, I like it. Bucks. Bucks. Absolutely, the bucks. Tom Brady, let's go. Absolutely let's go. I love truth. Absolutely, let's go. I will take the bucks. It's an easier conference. I think they have an easier division. And I think Tom Brady is going to be playing in his last year and then we're going to all see how that looks. Last year. I think so. Watch your return. How about that? How about that? How about that? Put a little sauce on it. A little song. What is this guy doing? Is that every day? Who work here when there's no one else around? You feel like now we're coming into ours, So I think the season kicks that off, but I didn't have feelings started a long time. I got to tell you the truth. I mean, like for normal people. All they know is like, Oh, it's falls back to school, and that's only on the East Coast. Right. I'll say this. Like until I was in the industry. I really didn't care about preseason football as we have key there because it didn't count just didn't want any of my guys to get hurt. A Giants fan giants don't get hurt in the preseason. I'm good right now in the business, it gives you something to talk about. So you get a little more excited, But I'm preseason doesn't do much for me other than because it makes the job a little easier, More fun. Regular season. Especially. Yeah, this is the Dallas Cowboys against the defending champion. Tampa Bay Bucks. Tom Brady, Dak Prescott. There is so much to get into here, and it's such a marquee matchup. My thing is When you look at this game Everyone. I've heard a lot of all There's so much, but I know you guys. We've talked about this and you guys feel similarly in terms of the pressure on that versus other places. I've heard a lot. There's so much pressure on that he got his money. Going to point to a million different things in failure before they point to him the pressure to me. Is on the defending champs key. They return all 22 plus the coaches. You brought that up the other day, the coaching staff intact to their at home. Dallas is missing Zack Martin. All of this right back is coming off the shoulder and the beating the whole thing. To me. All the pressures on Tampa is this is like all upside for Dallas. All potential downside for Tampa unless they Winky Yeah. I mean, it is it. Dallas is playing with house money, right? It's one of those situations where they have really nothing to lose. For the most part. But when you talk about a loaded team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, they're not going to get caught up in the ring celebration of dropping of the dropping of the banter all then that's not going to happen. It's going to be jacked up. They're going to be ready to play. You bring back 22 guys that started for you. Now. I don't know how many reserves they bring back, but they bring back some reserves as well. I mentioned the other day. All three coordinator, special teams coordinator, offensive defensive coordinator Plus the head coach. All come back when you are in a system for the second time around like Gronkowski and a Tom Brady preach you now have Different field for things. It's totally different. You had an off season a traditional offseason where a year ago you was Practicing in a park with helicopters flying around to get a glimpse at you. And to see what you look like. So this is a way different situation. Max, I think this team is poised to make a noise. A nice noise in the A F. C only NFC South. Everyone, everyone's super high on the bus. Not like every year. The defending champs are anointed the way the bucks have been. Keyshawn J. Will, Um, Max is presented by progressive insurance. By the way, all guests join us on the Goodyear hotline. What are you most looking forward to? Tonight, Jack. You know, yesterday watching Derek Jeter give his speech. What it is that it brought me back because there are a lot of baseball games that I went to where I watched him play and also working with him with the players. Tribune, you know, like Moments where you're around people like that, and you see them actually perform And you're like, man, That's incredible. And I think yesterday brought me back to something for Tom Brady. Obviously a lot of talking topics that press God. How will you bounce back? Ezekiel Elliott can get back to that form. Dallas. Can they be the team We expect them to be because of the talent. The Bucks are really good. I'm sitting there saying Damn, my man, Tom Brady is going into his 22nd year. In the NFL. He is 40 22nd year. I turned me why?.

"At khan. And khan yeah yeah. It was It was it was great and and It was also the first time. I've been in a movie theater in almost two years and so a so. Oddly emotional i was like i got choked up and i kinda snuck up on me but But it was. It felt great to be in a movie theater again. You know. I mean. I'm so i mean look i'm i'm i'm like everyone else. I'm so sick of his. Covert thing. I i you know. It's like i can't get back to normal life fast enough but you know. I know it's going to i know we're delta variants and all that stuff and we're dealing with it but but I mean i miss hanging out with people but also in you want people to know this isn't like liam niessen taken because right because it feels like oh. Somebody's going over to someplace in europe to get his daughter back. Yeah thank you for bringing that up man because particularly for like people who listen to this show which i do The movie might look like one of those movies Because the setup is like that right you know his daughters in jail he he. You know it's like one of those things and it's it's you're expecting that kind of liam niessen hero or jason bourne for that matter to come in and and you know kick some ass and have the have the skill set to kind of solve all the problems. This is decidedly. Not that movie. It's a movie about a real dude. A real like a roughneck. Who's in that situation. Who comes over and his his his daughter's five years into a you know at this sentence for a crime that she didn't commit and he's he's been absentee dad is all he's been she's been he's been he's messed up this relationship and he's trying to repair the damage that he's done with his we'll by his failures and he's doesn't have the skill set and he doesn't you know and he's just doing his level best to help his daughter and so it's it's it's much more of a drama than a thriller So just anybody listening to it if you go. They're expecting and like any kung-fu. You're gonna swirly just a movie about real people. Where are you right now. Who came up with the background there in that room. I mean i'm in brooklyn new york. I'm at the one hotel where they're doing this. Press jonquil yeah. Look at these jars of. I don't know what those that i don't know. This number paul. He's like i don't like agent. Don't you have people who help you with this stuff. That's really funny. Because i still have the same number and it's and it's blocked and everybody complains like if i facetime someone like i knew it was block. I didn't remember that. So maybe maybe paul. He's the one who told me how to block it. And that was the genesis of all of it. Poli view still have matched numbered. I i can't deny it to him and then he'll see if it's true or not. Want attorney jason. Now i've got my phone on me. You gotta have just text text matt and just say is. Is this your number. Hey good luck with the movie and don't wait another five years. I don't want to man. Okay hey listen. We gotta ben and i have this movie the last duel coming out in october. I'll come back and talk to you in a couple of months. That would be great. "Gatorade is there to help you. Fuel it because greatness starts with g hyping. Your champions called the bucks. Tom brady and the tampa. Bay buccaneers for at the white house yesterday. Tb twelve dropped. Some jokes on the president. Listen not a lot of people think that we could have won. In fact i think about forty percent of people still. Don't think we won. I understand that. Mr president had a game in chicago where i forgot would down. It was a lost track of one down in twenty one years of playing and they started calling me sleep. Tom would they do that to me. All right so that was brady yesterday. Which was very interesting. And it's just it's funny. I let me just ask that question very quickly. Why what's face kimberly. Is he funny or not. Is twenty twenty one. Tom brady funny. of course he's funny. This is literally greedy. We have been waiting to see for twenty one years and soak it up greenie. There's no question about it. This is funny do you think. Do you think tom brady is genuinely funny. He's funny but he's also rates right he also sometimes when when you've got a little bit of money a little bit of success jokes talk a little bit funnier right. Got all those rings jokes. A little bit funnier. Everything's not everything he's been saying. A tweeting is hilarious. Right i get it. But i'm like man with all that success. Right look what. He's married to little money in the pocket. You might have some people right now. These jokes tweets forum. You never know though. Chris rock famously. Said money will turn a bald spot into a part. That's how that goes but let me let me cut jeff saturday right down to the quick. Who's funnier tom. Brady your buddy peyton manning. Oh main komo komo liz. You've seen him on saturday night live. He crushes them. Go against my boy. Come on man. And i was. I was cheating the answer to anything with. Jeff is always peyton manning and the meantime. I much more interesting than dan. Something that brady said in an interview with jim gray. We're getting just a little bit of a glimpse this morning as to what motivates brady so remember last month with brady said that he was stunned to learn that. An unnamed other team decided to stick with its corn quarterback rather than to come after him. Tom brady he said i was thinking. You're sticking with that guy. He still won't say which team it was but he did say this to jim gray. He said there's private things for me. That are going to remain motivational. They know who they are. It's fine everyone has a choice to choose. I think what you realize. There's not as many smart people as you think. And then listen to this. He goes on to say. That's the reality. I think it'd be a no brainer if you said. Hey you've got a chance to get wayne gretzky on your team. You got a chance to have michael jordan on your team. We don't need him. no thanks. We're good. That was in an interview with jim gray and so many things about that that i find fascinating jeff. I think a lot of us have put brady in the conversation with the michael. Jordan's wayne gretzky's. I'm not sure i've ever heard him put himself in that conversation. What do you think of that jeff..

"To the clay travis and buck sexton show buck member go to klay and buck dot com website for updates stories news all kinds of good things photos of claes cats. Which for you dog folks out there. We're not running an official contest or anything. Although come on we gotta make sure the dogs win but to lula. The french bulldog went up on clan dot com and clays cats up. And there's all this love for the cat. So i'm just saying for the dog folks out there you gotta go on clay dot com also to renew stories. It's not just about the the pet photos we put on. I'm honestly stunned. By how much interest there are has been in the cats and And as As we break it down. There's a lot of good stuff up there we got. We should give more credit. Let me do it right now. To the entire staff that we have inherited that surrounded rush limbaugh and we're over a month end of the show now and they have a well oiled machine and we have stepped in and hopefully not slowed them down at all but the behind the scenes people who you hear us occasionally mentioned have done a pretty fantastic job. What's the days running teams team in the business. So clay and buck dot com is being run by the same people that have been running russia's russia's online for for years and years so go to clan buck dot com. Check that out. We did want to take some calls but before we get to the calls. I just want to note that we have a cancel culture situation to discuss with you in the third hour And i one thing that will always do here is tell you the truth and make sure that you know what you need to know to assess where we're coming from things. Black rifle coffee was the subject of a new york times magazine profile of the weekend. Got a lot of attention and a lot of people on the right are pretty angry now. We're going to have the black rifle. Ceo evan hafer. And i wanna tell you while they're not sponsors of this show who are having them on to talk about the cancel culture situation. They could be at some point a future. I've had them on a sponsor in the past. And i will also tell you that i consider avenue the founders of black rifle to be friends so play and i are going to ask them. What's going on here. But i want you to know that. Here's a situation where someone that i think A group that i think has done. Some great stuff is getting a lot of heat on the right and we want them to explain why we want them to be able to tell you what's really going on here because they say clay. It's a hit piece man. They got taken out of context. And i think they should have the right to make that case to everybody. Yeah look and we're in a good spot where we have the biggest radio show in the country and so sometimes when controversies arise people have options to go and talk to a ton of different sources out there right and we have because of you guys such a monumentally massive audience that sometimes one of the most effective inefficient things to do is go right to the biggest audience you can find and so that's why they wanna come on and talk talk with us and talk to you guys so i i'm curious to see how this is gonna go. We're taking some of your calls in the meantime been. We haven't done that yet so far today. Who should we go to. I buck tom and richfield do tom. Yes here how you guys good. What's going on. I just wanna just preface my comments by saying that i was thirty plus faith listener for rush limbaugh. I'm bishop gary. I think It was a little rough transition from list. Not listening to him and then listening guys but you do a great job and i'm thankful that you're there because there's such a weight when you drive all day for a living you don't get too many commute Community people to hugh that it's reassurance. He was a mentor was an inspiration. He told me to seek facts on my own and how to find the truth in a morass media media. Tom we share. We share that with you. Mean rush was a a a mentor on the air and then obviously as a guest hosted of guest hosted forum for years and clays inspired by russia's well. So we're we're with you on that. But what's your thought about the democrats okay. So my comment is this. I think looking back. And i'm gonna power face. What was said but the greatest dissemination of this information throughout the media was kamala harris. And that's because she had the biggest largest bully pulpit and she said and i'm paraphrasing. i would not take the vaccine of donald trump. who's advocating or promoting it. Now this is the same vaccine. That biden is now swearing. By and i would think since she was able to get wall to wall media coverage without that sound bite that probably three hundred million people in the united states but she said out of those we know at least seventy five seventy seven million people voted for her and joe biden so she got to influence half the population of the united states to at least the doubtful or in some way have some suspicion about that vaccine because what she i clicked tom. You're making thank you so much for calling in from connecticut. You're making a clay. He's an excellent point here. The origins really in at least american political discourse a vaccine hesitancy came from democrats like vitamin harris themselves. Who were saying. I mean you know. Maybe you can't trust vaccine under trump's fda. They absolutely did it. That there's no doubt. And i think people i understand the argument of hey. We need science to not be political. But i don't understand how anybody out there who has listened to everything. Our public scientists have said since march of twenty twenty can come to any other conclusion other than it's all political and i think it's unfortunate but that's where we are and that's why. I'm afraid that we're going to end up in bach. Another lockdown before all is said and done in. This process got is where we are headed. You got a new york city councilman. Thank you producer alley for sending us to us. right now. New york city councilman saying he wants mandate back in new york. Biggest city in the country folks can in texas. You've got some thoughts on it a buck. It's an honor to speak to you. Guys the The politicians in in california and gathered in particular requiring people who are vaccinated to wear a mask. That is clearly overdoing their authority. And i predict you got there. The guy i predicted this last year. That was this. Kobe virus initially set in that liberals will take advantage of this and use it because they they are absolutely into control. And now that the del delta buried is coming back. they're licking their chops. 'cause every minute of it i it's time for these people these people in california anywhere else if you're vaccinated. You should not have to wear that. People need to stand up to this. The how can. I feel like you just shouldn't don't wear masks period. Syria i if the data doesn't reflect in buchan mine's mine again and we try to use the actual data. The data doesn't reflect. That mask made any difference at all. If you compare different state outcomes based on the way that they the choices that they made in other words if you look at florida and you look at texas and you compare them with california new york. Florida and texas. Far less draconian in terms of what they required compared to new york in california yet. Florida and texas have lower rates of cova coleman infection cova deaths than those other places and so what bucket i try to do is share data with you real facts and try to make sense of it and sometimes that can be challenging in real time. That's what we're trying to do. Right now is the stock market is down nearly a thousand points but back when we come back we're to be joined by the guys at black rifle coffee to talk about what they are going through right now as they find themselves at the center of a media storm based on a new york times article that went up on the front page new york times magazine over the weekend and that should be a pretty interesting. We're we're going to see the founder of black rifle on.

"And rick ownby for true very promising arms All be kind of a california beach bum guy who never quite got whether allen was pretty good for a while and then he became the closer when suitor signed with the brazen allen. Self-destructed hit that. I was near new york of course when he blew two games for the mets the first two games a season now is for him but Yeah that was a bad dreyer by stop was a bad trade and hernandez was not playing all that well at the time. He was hitting two sixty. Something i think. And you didn't want to go to the vets at rather why necessarily wanted to trade him but the brewer made him united states. You gotta get this outta here you know. And as we learn later them. So maybe a misnomer to light whitey. Now we could sit around. We have fun telling stories. But then i've heard he didn't necessarily love the media interaction and tony who people at home assume heeded the media. I've always says moore the he loved to sit around and be before game or after well if they want after the game but is that fair. Tony loved his. I mean he could get mad at you but he kind of like the media interaction. i think love the media interaction. he would he would Maybe not maybe. That's he didn't like tv or radio okay. And he said. I want to see something that he favored newspapers and he would say. I want to see something in the paper that i said that i didn't say on. Tv or radio the night before. Whatever he wanted wanted to have something special for us and he didn't. He didn't go on any talk shows at all he saw. Yeah he didn't. You're part of the media. He did not like that much. But tony you guys had a great report right. And i mean he liked people who were there every day. He told me that wants. Its no disrespect. He said but i favor the guys who are here every day. And i said that i would never. I never want to push to the front of the line. Because i'm like. I'm not here every day and i think he loved the guys who would just talk ball all day right and it took a while to get to know him. The true previous managers were wide for ten years. While you can go back a little bit red for boy third twelve years and then a little bit of rap a little bit of kenny bar and then wide for ten and joe torre for about five and a half. So tony was new to all of us and It took maybe three or four years to figure out how to you. Could lighten him up a little bit. I finally figured out. One day that i would joke about his even starting to give me a rough time and joke about his batting average his career one ninety nine batting average and see that took me he liked it started laughing and i think glared at me. Of course they said and then he knew i had him going to was no home. Runs one ninety nine. I wanna throw some names af from over the years Gimme jack buck. So you around. The state and probably a lot of nights at the old bush and just being around jack i so much has been said and written. But what was your interaction with jack like. He taught me a lot and and one time. We're going downstairs after a game through the double doors that would would lead you onto the field. At the second ballpark and empires rumors was passed. The first set and off to the right. He said you ought to go in there some time and introduce yourself to the empires and now and then both there's all kinds of don't do not enter all kinds of skull and crossbones cyber stuff on the door there. I said you can't go in there. He said sure he can. He says this corner okay. The commission's being no this go ahead we can edit this but this this could be larussa. No this the commission's phone is ringing as and you never know it could be rob manford so anyway we got he said yeah going there andrews yourself so i did and over the years. We've got to be fast friends either at the missouri grill or or before the game you going and just talked to him after the game you go in and talk to them as i established myself at either home games or big events on the road. Like playoff games and stuff. They asked for me to be the pool report. They should get home on here. Nobody else comes home on their and explained the play to me. And then i was kinda the go between i guess between major league baseball and the media for a long time but their lives guys are my friends joe west. I got a couple of calls last week from joy and ron culpa from umpires congratulated fifty years. They'd seen in the paper and So that's what. Jack buck. Tom you first of all and secondly. He was generous a manager oversee. I went out to dinner with him. We invite shot. A couple of times with group of people he'd go to like allies in chicago. And you'd have a stack of twenty dollar bills and this is like thirty years ago five thirty years ago and he would give twenty to everybody. The piano player the busboys waiters go back to the folks and everybody and joseph. And that's why my dad was working at eighty or whatever. How about mike shannon his partner. You're working on a book. Boy how do you. How do you put the shannon life into one book. That's that'll be a fascinating read. While there's there's certain s there's different aspects of his great career as a high school athlete here. Maybe among the top four or five best high school athletes we've ever had for around athleticism. You know football baseball basketball player to And then there's his playing career in the big leagues and and what is playing might have been at mizzou with eddie actually played other than freshman football and then as fifty years of broadcasting which is the centerpiece of the book and a lot of broadcasters have agreed to talk to me about him. Just haven't got them all lined up yet but that'll be the primary focus and and The key is that. Mike remembers a lot of stories. And there's that over the years he kind of slipped his mind little bit and these other guys need to remind him of those stores. Then we'll get some more information. Maybe some have grown over the years to embellish. That could well be. I could welby and some probably could not be in the book. Maybe you know when you were young reporter. At the paper kostas was a young broadcast. You covered the saint louis spirits. Yes did you know bob at all then not until they got there but yes very well because We he would have on his radio. But i got to thinking about it and thought well some of the things that i used when i was trying to really dive into learning about weather. So if you haven't ever heard about skew t log p charring or chart. It is a chart where they'll go through and give you precise temperature. Its stomach weather balloons. They let a weather balloon. "From wondering. I'm david brown. And this is business. Worst daily on this tuesday february second. It's hard to find a whole lot of good to say about twenty twenty but at least there was football and after a season of twists turns and mask wearing the kansas city chiefs will face off against the tampa. Bay buccaneers this sunday in super bowl. Fifty five those who watch the game for football will enjoy an epic matchup between two familiar faces. The chiefs patrick mahomes versus the bucks. Tom brady but those who watch for the ads. Well they'll be missing a couple of familiar. Wins namely coke and pepsi. The cola giants flagship brands are typically all stars in the big games at lineup. And they've given us some of the most memorable moments in super bowl advertising history who can forget when an injured mean. Joe greene tossed his jersey to the young fan. Who offered him a coke. More when cindy crawford stop for a co pepsi with two young onlookers nearby great new pepsi can on introducing a whole new way to look at pepsi and diet pepsi beautiful but not this year coke announced earlier this month that it would be sitting out the super bowl. The company called it a quote difficult choice and said it had to quote ensure we are investing in the right resources during these unprecedented times. Variety reported the pandemic has been hard on coke especially since half of its sales come from stadiums movie theaters and other venues at have largely been closed since the pandemic began the company announced layoffs in december according to the associated press pepsi is also taking a pass on standalone ads for its cola brand but for an entirely different reason. The company is focused on its halftime show. Sponsorship this year marks a decade since the cola company started sponsoring the much anticipated event. "If you are In the mood to do some fishing. You better do it today because things were going south briskly. I'm the weather front. Looks like It's winds around 10 knots today, so very doable today tomorrow doable but winds going to switch out of the south and then boy come Monday. We got 20 to 25 all the way until Wednesday. So Monday Tuesday or really brutal, Just crazy this weather patter to to say the least. But as we always do You want to open our show? Talking to our good friend and our resident superhero. The man that makes this whole thing happened each and every Saturday morning, my main man back in our heart media empire. Reggie, How are you this quarter? Good baby. I wanted to give my condolences. I know this was no. You said last week is a win win for you, but I know that kind of hurt. No, I mean, yeah. You know, it's Ah, uh I'm happy for the for the core group of Buccaneer fans who are always buccaneer fans like me who just got who just got on one time ready. Got there. Yeah, not just you. I mean, for years. I've been here for many years since 1990. Yeah, it's always it's always painful to me. That With, you know, to almost two million people living here in the Bay Area. They can't still a stadium of 65,000 people. And yet now you know, everybody will be a huge bucket. You're fan of the booking airfare for years blow well it again, you know, being a lot of Was a lot of people who are transplants here, So I understand some of that. But there's a lot of people who are born and raised in the Bay Area and just don't stay loyal to their football team. So it's too bad for for those players that have been here. I'm happy for them. I'm obviously happy for the community. I do believe that the Buccaneers need to take advantage of this opportunity, because you know, uh, the stars are shining on them a little bit. You know Brady becomes available. You need a quarterback. He comes to town. You got a good young roster. Uh, you know, the Packers a little. You know, they lose their best offensive linemen right before the playoffs That helps. The Chiefs are gonna be without two offensive lineman, two starters, probably their two best offensive lineman. The strength of your team is not Tom Brady. The strength of that team is that defensive line on their ability to get after the quarterback and change games and You know that's what they did to the Packers, and I think that's what they have to do to the Chiefs to take advantage is opportunity and bring this thing home and with a second title, So, uh, yeah, I'm excited. Everybody should be excited. It's good stuff that Carl Davis can't give up 200 yards of Tyree killed in the first damn quarter. That would be, uh, let's let's go. I don't think Todd Bowles gonna let that happen to give its that defense is very good. It's very well coached. It's gotten better all year long. Um, quite frankly, Like I said, That's who won that game against three day It wasn't the quarterback play on both sides was You know it was okay, but it wasn't It wasn't Roger Typical Rogers of Brady. In my opinion, That game was one defensively by the Buccaneers. The second half the buck. Tom Brady in the fucking your offense tried to give it away. They tried to hand that thing to the Packers and the Packers couldn't take advantage of it because the defense would allow it. Absolutely. So I mean, hat's off to him that it was a great defensive game for them. They played well and they're on to, uh, you know, be the first home team never hosted Super Bowl. So like, what would that be like toe? Just put this in perspective. Right? Quick, you beat Drew Brees. Air Rogers and Patrick homes in the same post season. That's incredible. Would be. That would be the old guard and the new guards. Really? I mean, you know, reason, Rogers and my home is the new night attire after that, right? I don't know. If you're retired. You come back. Try to win one more. Just like I know that interviewed grew Syrians this week and said, You know what you ride off into the sunset. What would you do if you In this Super Bowl areas. Do you like you said, Try to win, too. Like I love it was actually great. So you gotta pull for that guy. His personality is great. I love his his, You know. Blue collar mentality just goes to work and no nonsense. No, you know, I like for Syrians. So there's a lot of things to be excited about here in the Bay Area, for sure. Phone lines are open here this morning. If you want to talk some fish in active you wanna talk a little football? That's fine to 1 809 699352 again. It's 1 800. 9699352 I was out Furman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Newport, Richie there Tuesday night. It was a long day from you had to drive. "Very 439 yards of offense for Kansas City in the homes Wa Spectacular 29 of 38 325 Yards, three touchdowns. Darryl Williams on the ground. 13 carries 52 yards and a touchdown. Edward G. Layer had a rushing touchdown and then the receiving numbers. Tyree killed nine catches for 172 yards. Travis Kelsey. 13 catches 118 yards and two touchdowns. Couple of sex for Clark Snap A sack for Sneed. It was almost like a snack for him the way that he got to the quarterback and it was mentioned complementary football. All phases. Kansas City got it done tonight. You talked about them being back in the Super Bowl, three straight A F C title matches right here in this stadium, and I remember after the Super Bowl win last year that the Chiefs had and you just have the feeling. I mean for so long, the FC was dominated by the Patriots and who, Tom Brady, and now with this chief's team, they have the franchise quarterback, and they have surrounded him with talent. It's an offensive juggernaut on they do enough on defense gives thieves back, Nolan Ton of credit, But this is a team that I don't think going anywhere as long as possible. Homes is the quarterback right now. We're going downstairs to Ross Tucker. All right, guys, I'm down here with Tyree. Kill Tyreke. You heard everybody Say, Run it back. We're going back. How does this compare to last year? You know what? It's kind of crazy, man, You know, just being back. Where we were last year. You know what? Just the atmosphere. You know the fans, you know, it's uh, almost feel the same. You know what? So everyone's excited, you know, just to be able to run it back. So wait for the challenge. You have eight straight games where you guys won by six points or less. And then you exploded today. What was different tonight against Buffalo? I don't know. It was just a mindset. I feel like I feel like a bunch of guys. You know what? Look that Twitter and, um, took it as you know what? Everybody under underestimated us, You know, a little bit. You know what? So everybody came out, competed? Play well, and you know that you're going to go. You're gonna be the NDP and you know, he shined. Today s O e solid world. Everybody came out and just play well. Eric Fisher. Your left tackle was out with an Achilles injury, right? How much that hurt you guys going to the Super Bowl? Well, it's gonna hurt us a lot. You know what? We're all gonna miss, um, big fish. But in this league, it's always next man up. You know what's so, Andrew Wylie? He's gonna step in and give us a boost. All right. You got the Tampa Bay bucks. Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. Is there something that you like about going against Brady after what happened here a couple of years ago. Are you glad it's him? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, man, everybody That is him. You know what it's going to be part of the best of whoever you got One vote on this side and patch of homes and he got one arguably arguably the best player of all time. And Tom Brady. You know what I was gonna be a great game. You know what to good defense is too great offenses, so it's gonna be a fantastic game. His life's a man. Go into it, would you sir? Thank you. I'm alright, Ross. Thank you very much, and it is official. Twitter. What's the difference maker for the Kansas City Chiefs? Never thought I would say that, Tony? Yeah, I appreciate that kind of, but I don't think that had much to do with it in this team. Yeah, they want a bunch of close games. But was there ever a doubt that they could explode at any moment? No, buddy, but it looks teams use fuel in different ways. And if that was something that motivated them looking on Twitter and people showing the bills, love you do what you gotta do to get yourself ready for Oh, you're exactly right. Trust me As a player. You're always looking for that. Ship to put on your soldier on like they say it's us against the world. And you know, because you want to get that emotion going and saying, Hey, I'm gonna show you and that's the competitive nature. Of these guys, and you don't get to this level. You don't get to the developments. You're one competitive dude and entirely killed, Mrs competitive any of them and he said, that's what motivates them. So hey, I'll believe it. All right, Tony time to select the Geico drive off the game. Where you going with this one? I'm gonna go to the first touchdown drive for the Chief's remember. They were down nine. Nothing and it came right on the heels of that muffed punt by Mikko Hardman, and it looks like the bills at the start. They wanted everything was going their way. Well, Patrick go home to that offense, got the ball in the 20 and went 14 plays 80 yards and ended with a wider Seaver screen to none other than the guy who must the punch. Mico Hardman, and that was the start of the dam breaking for the Bills defense. From that point on the chief's never punted again. They were in complete control of the game, and it ended up 38 points on the board and really blowing the bills out of this building..

"Abuse of power than what did or more accurately didn't occur. The director goes on to say the NFL didn't just build a murder case. When there was nobody. There wasn't even a missing person. Can't wait to watch this late, and I think it's up. Think it's on Amazon. Late in the documentary, Maron introduces the ancient concept of trial by ordeal, which might somehow be relevant when Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Green Bay Packers in Sunday's NFC Championship. It once met, subjecting the accused to some ordeal, such as getting dipped in boiling water or being burned at the stake and supposedly separated. The innocents from the guilty applied to modern times. It's more of an I'll prove I didn't cheat when I roll this rock up a hill once again with everyone watching, so I don't want to be feel. Two faced on the issue because I probably have said things like, how could Brady do that? But when you really start reading some of these details What would the NFL game gain or Roger Goodell gain from making The golden child of the NFL look bad. It's a great question. I always found it interesting when Jordan stepped away from the MBA for a couple years, and they always said it was because David Stern made him because of his gambling problem and debts. This, too, like to find the N bazaar, the NFL's poster child and then concoct a scenario where it looks like he's a bad dude. I don't get it at all is because he had a personal vendetta. I mean, that's the thing some of that just felt personal, and I think it be. I don't know that they ever buried the hatchet. I don't think those two are chatting well, because Brady Isn't just bigger than the team that he's on Brady's bigger than the game itself. He is especially when you look at those numbers like we talked about yesterday. Brady as a single person entity is more successful than almost any other actual franchise in their existence. So How I would think that is to be protected, not railroaded. Yeah, You'd have to be a jealous petty dude to be like I'm gonna punish this guy because he's bigger than the sport itself. He's definitely bigger than the team. I root for Tom Brady. No matter what Jersey he's wearing. I'm very glad he's wearing the bucks. You're going to say not the bucks, weren't you? No, no, As you say, and the bucks for Tom Brady and the Bucks on the Bucks. Tom Brady in the buck sample Brady in that order. These stories. These these tidbits come along every once in a while, and I feel like they get us excited, and we talk about them like something's going to come to fruition and at least here, it hasn't yet a central Florida lawmakers introduced legislation aimed Legalizing recreational marijuana in Florida Orlando. Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith and Pinellas County Senator Jeff Brands this week introduced HB 3 43 and SB 7 10 of the House and Senate, which would legalize recreational marijuana in Florida. The bills would establish a robust and free market regulatory approach to the governance of cultivation. And processing. Of marijuana. The legislation would allow people 21 older to purchase and use limited amounts of marijuana without a medical marijuana card. Libertarian part of me loves this. The dude who knows people who have fought very hard to get their medical license and have been enjoying that for a while. I want them tow maximize their opportunities to make money, But I think It's time to tell adults that if they can buy booze, they can also buy weed. Yeah, it's very interesting. We've talked about that before. What a broader scale recreational you know, Legalization would mean for all the people that have just went through hell on every loot. You know every regulation to get to where we are today. I don't know for them. If it's better if Florida passes it, or if somehow in the next four years, which I love to see is they do a federal, you know, de criminalization. I don't know which one of them Those would be better for the local businesses or the Florida based businesses that are already here doing me there, but I mean, if you can get it in one state, you should be able to get it in every state's it's time to drop the Sherrod and say there's no reason you should be able to recreational e bite in Colorado yet not in Florida. Um, you know, there are a few moments in politics modern day that can that can elicit a tear can make you just really think about a lot of different things. And I think I think Chuck Schumer of all people this morning he had a moment speaking about what happened at the Capitol. And what may happen to Donald Trump whether you know he has impeached or not, And if I could just play this clip for you, I think I think it's gonna touch a lot of people out there. All right. There will be a trial and when that trial ends, senators will have to decide. If they believe Donald John Donald John Trump incited the erection. Wow. Um I don't want to lessen the gravity of Those uplifting Powerful words that have my posture erect. But if we could revisit that, John and really, I think the first time people don't know what to expect and the gravitas maybe lost. Please, let's take a moment and I think all of us no matter where we lean on this, whether it's Schumer Anti Schumer We can all appreciate what he's got to say There will be a trial and when that trial ends, senators will have to decide if they believe Donald John Donald John Trump incited the erection insurrection against the United States. I love you. Okay. It's an unfortunate Bluebird decided the erection. Unfortunate for him very direct, very fortunate for us. So this got me thinking. Do you believe there's got to be at least one human being on this planet? Who Donald Trump at one point in their life incited an erection. I wouldn't go so far as I know that there's got to be at least one. Have you seen him? Dance to Y M C a. Right. No one's inciting and on exciting any erections to that. Everybody likes, uh, pop them rods, Stella. I mean, I know that a lot of people would like to think that they don't exist. But you know, there's like there's like Magda. Gay friendly groups like Make America Great Again. He could be, you know somewhat of a sex symbol for a certain.

"Think red at 8 15 Rob would forfeit is a reason we missed football. Yeah, well, And these first half is a rap over in the big easy and it's been anything but for these 40 something quarterbacks here tonight as they go to intermission with the Bucks and Saints all tied up. At 13 apiece just moments ago, a game time field goal. Therefore, the Bucks Tom Brady, he's computer completed fewer than half his passage. Drew Brees has a bad interception in this one in his averaging 3.7 yards per pass attempt. So not a good looking game here for either one of these future Hall of Fame quarterbacks, but they are all even now heading into the second half. The Kansas City Chiefs said it to the A F C championship game for the third straight year, holding on for a thrilling 20 to 17 win over the Cleveland Browns. Despite lose Patrick Mahomes to a concussion. That leaves his status up in the air for the next week against the Bills. And here is the news that will make Washington football fans ears perk up. ESPN is reporting There's a growing sense in and around the Houston Texans organization that Star quarterback to Shawn Watson has played his last night for the team and will eventually asked for a trade. So much So the Texans have reportedly had internal discussions about possible trade partners. Now Washington could get in on that, depending on Alex Smith status. Smith was on 60 minutes tonight, he said, is hey said playing this year is emboldened him and that the calf injury that sidelined him during the late season playoff push was actually a bone bruise in his surgically repaired leg. I'm sure this isn't the end of what we'll hear about that. The capital suffered their first loss of the new season. They fall in Pittsburgh for three and a shootout.
