"It's not even Halloween and playing Christmas music. I'm bringing crystalline for big Alan Jo Jo here today. Tomorrow and Wednesday. And so I was talking about earlier about. Vic Fangio meeting the media via Zoom Today versus yesterday. Typically after a game he will talk to us the next day, almost always. Even after the Thursday game. We talked him on Friday, then had Saturday Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off until we talk to Victor following Wednesday, but They gave him Sunday off, and I liked kind of the space in between. So there were obviously a number of things he touched on injury report real quickly Bradley job and I already knew this yesterday, but the ankle sprain. Not that severe. They don't know when he'll practice, but Vic was Cautiously optimistic that Bradley's gonna practice this week and then he gave a little more detail about Rice Callahan's foot last week. I asked him if Bryce Callahan was gonna make it back for either of these two games, and Vic said No. But We did find out today that Bryce Callahan isn't gonna have to have surgery. So that's encouraging, considering he's had to have surgery the last two off seasons that Hill hell up from whatever is ailing him. I think that's a different foot. So there's that. Thing, the one that he had surgically repaired twice, but Vic we were talking about before I expect him back. Expect Pat Shurmur back. Expect a number of these players back specifically to lock Here is Vick on what he has seen that only come optimistic heading into 2021. Well, I think at times we've played good football in all three phases. We haven't done it enough together. Enough games to translate into more wins. But I see a bunch of young players improving each and every week I see a bunch of Guys in the mid parts of their career still improving each and every week and I think this team As a bright future..

"With head coach Vic Fangio. I'm Dave Logan as we get set for the Broncos on the road facing the Carolina Panthers. Let's talk a little bit about your defense. You're gonna be without a J. Boy for the remainder of the season. Bryce Callahan is is trying to battle through a foot injury. You're gonna have not that It's anything different than what you've experienced the last several weeks, But you're gonna have a lot of very young, inexperienced players in the back end of your defense. We will. You know, we've lost You know from the New Orleans game, which was just two games ago, both corners and our nickel, So we'll have a new group out there in those three positions, and but I'm excited to see those guys play and I think they'll do well. I think Bob's be and To Dawson and Michael will do well out there, and we're anxious to see him play last couple of thoughts with head coach Vic Fangio. You look back to last week Vic in the Kansas City game. Your offense did some good things. They certainly were able to establish the running game as you and I talked about after the game couple of ventures into the Red Zone, both of those Were touchdowns, which is exactly what you want. In this last four games stretch of play for this regular season. What two or three things are most important from your perspective, with respect to how your offense plays. Well, I think the big thing we got to do is Stop turning the ball over. You know, we've had too many turnovers. And that's a good place to start there. I'd like to see us go turnover free. Um Continue to run the ball. Well, we've had a couple games here now where we've run it pretty damn good and hopefully that continue and improve our efficiency and the passing game. I think those were some marries that. We could start with. Okay, Vic. Good luck. Thank you. Dave Priest said that's head.

"Something saw on tape. Maybe we could get to him early and that'll throw him off his game. Or do you think that's just a function of the personnel? The Broncos are rolling out. I think a little bit of both. Then I think that again. Atlanta It's hard for me to believe that that team started on five they have with Deon Jones. And you know the upfront people there? Yeah. Very, very active, very fast defense, and I think I mean, even in the first, Siri's when, uh drew it's Noah fan for the 32 year game. If he gets it right in the face on that play Now, maybe on that play, maybe maybe they can't protect that certain stunned and maybe that's the hot read. For drew lock with no offence, destroying a shoot out with short set of field. I don't know I'm not the meeting rooms, but I just think He's got to the bill. I want to see it again. I'll have to go back looking at that game. And I made this comment earlier today. I didn't see a lot of guys open in that first half. You know, I would be really concerned if Drew's in the pocket and he's looking downfield and you go back. Look at it. Say, what are you looking at? I mean, clearly you've got the deep Dig. You've got the over Eva. I didn't see guys opened in the first half. Now is that is that because of the players or is that because of the The concept. I mean, Atlanta basically played one free single safety high the first half. They went to some cover two in the second half, but you get outside leveraging you just chasing receivers all over all over the field, so I think it's still a learning process. I'm gonna give patch. Remember the benefit of the doubt here because of no training camp? Know anything. Young players? Young quarterback new certainly knew passing concepts. They've got to figure out how to get some of this young talent into space with their hands on the ball day, and they've tried with KJ and where a couple times on the on the flip ex reverse, and that's that's worked, okay, but they still You know, they still have to figure out how to get guys open and to be able heard your opening remarks. Be able to get a few first downs open the game because that that just goes a long way in establishing some confidence for an offense that clearly needs some Would you say that? Ah, in tow my eye. It looks like that. It just it just feels like the opening script just feels a bit disjointed And I don't know if that's situational, you know, maybe get some runs in there, and it puts you in third long if they don't convert now is that you gotta back away from that. But it just looks disjointed to me. It doesn't look like there's a There's a theme to try to get the quarterback and a rhythm is that Would you say that? That's fair? Would you say that? I'm you know, maybe I'm just seeing it. Um, it's hard for me to say, I think any time you don't have any success, I think it can appear disjointed. I think that I think when you look at what they're trying to do again, this is a team that supposedly was built on the run, and they have not been able to get the running game going. They're not good enough. I they're not good enough upfront, and very few teams are To drop back and throw the ball 40 plus times unless you are getting the ball out of the hands of the quarterback, unless you have some screens and so wide receiver screens, you know I'm seeing a lot of that. I really haven't I haven't seen any. I mean, I think I could count on one hand the attempted screens that we've seen the last four weeks and a couple of those have been the tight ends so I think you tend to. I think play callers get into a rhythm and I think when you're struggling, and you're you're going three and out and your quarterbacks get hit, and then you want to fall back in the running game running games getting stuff. All of a sudden, you You're out of sorts and you're trying to find something that you could sort of. Hang your hat on, but they just have not been able to do that the first half of the last two games. Hey, Logan joining us here on Broncos country tonight, Dave. Let's go to the defense for just a moment as this three straight games, giving up over 30 points per game Now there are circumstances that we can talk about in some of that, but When you look at that trend, Do you believe that That is, in part because of the injuries they've been dealing with? Is that in part because of just the matchups in the way the game script has been eyes that concerning to you. Well, I tell you what. When we get the information in the pregame that Bryce Callahan was not going to play. This was an absolute horrible matchup for the Broncos without age boy and without Bryce Callahan. They've been must I mean, if you could, you could pick almost any other team. That the Broncos would've had a better chance to match up against, rather than Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. And a team that is one of the best passing teams in the league. So I think from that point when you figure Callens not going to play in your vic Fangio, you know you can't let that Ryan sit back and count the house. You play zone against Matt Ryan. He's one of those guys that you're not gonna fool with coverage and he's just going to pick you apart. So I thought that they they changed up a little bit what they were doing. Right, and they started to try to bring some pressure when they brought pressure. It really was the only time that they they affected the quarterback when they wanted to play coverage behind and rush for They really couldn't pressure the quarterback. Now, if you look and there are built in excuses for this, Shelby Harris didn't make the trip down to other defense is starting lineman from when the season started. So there are reasons for that. But I just think that matchup yesterday given the condition of the Broncos secondary was really a tough matchup. You think that bleeds over into the next opponent? You get the Las Vegas Raiders would like to get the ball that quick. They don't really get pressured much. They've got a strong run game going up against that back up the lines that could present a tougher task for the Denver Broncos. The normal I think it's then I think it's completely different. I think this is going to be a game Sunday in Las Vegas that mean the Bronco defensive lineman and that that interior box We're going to have both both gin trap. Both chin straps buckled because the Raiders have them and they changed. They dynamically change the personality of the team. But just Jacobson and what they have up front me. They go into every game and just try to maul people with that in interior running game not to say that they won't throw a little bit, but they've taken so much pressure. Off the dairy car. They've added some speed outside. He'll take his shots downfield. But that whole offense is built around a smash mouth. Hard, nose, tough running game, an interior running game with a great young back, So I think first and foremost, I mean the game plan this week is to be able to hold the line of scrimmage. And not get blown off the ball and somehow negate that Raider running attack and make very car. Throw the ball more than they want to any of last question here for you really appreciate the time I was asking been about this right before you came on. So I'd love to get your thoughts drew lock in the fourth quarter last Two games. 64% completion 306 Yards, six Total touchdowns, one pick a quarterback rating of 1 17.1. I see a lot of people on social media sort of trying to discredit that to kind of say, Well, it's a little bit of fool's gold because of where the game is actually at when in some part in my opinion is you're still within reach. The game has not reached 60 minutes. And, of course, the abiding the Chargers. If Drew like, hadn't thrown that interception, it could have been Up biting the Falcons. So what of those stats in the fourth quarter last two games?.

"They will find a way to make mistakes. Teams do that even good teams, but especially those two kinds of teams. They find ways to make mistakes because it starts getting their head. Here we go again. This team's getting a little bit of moment. Um, it's okay. We got it. We got it. No, no, you don't have it on. It's just interesting to me that the teams that seem to joke around league cover three teams. You go. All right. We move on here. My final play. What I thought was actually the play of the game. Now it's pretty easy to talk about any of the touchdowns being the play of the game. When you're walking the razor's edge off the entirety of what happened in the second half where, you know, I mean, big fans kind of pointed out. If you don't have to play Dr. That goes into touchdown. Who knows what you're talking about? If you In this case after the drew lock interception, they end up getting three points. The charges were set up to at least get three points. Get some points there. We're not talking about a Broncos win. Bryce Callahan. Is the CB one. He has been playing out of his mind like a 93 rating on pro football focus. I mean, he was just a baller out there and and for all of our concerns that came into the season, his health included. I feel like he's he's showed Reagan. This was a spectacular play shotgun. Denver Russia's five Herbert Loads it up bald Mike Williams fought for the endzone and intercepted intercepted in the end zone. By Bryce Callahan. L, a hand went high with Mike Williams on came down with it his second interception of the season, his sixth of the career. Callahan is a guy that's about my size of going.

"Well, him and Bryce Callahan Big break for Denver Broncos. That's an 18 year old game to play. The Broncos will start in Great field position on this drive from the Kansas City 37 Gordon in the game locked under center. Locked with a play fake. Runs and throws a ball that will be caught. Patrick gets blasted out of bounds. The ball came free. They're going to say it's a catch. Now the officials were going to confer. I don't know if he came down with the ball. He had it when he landed at a bounce, The ball came ricocheted off his body. He spotted just short of the 10 yard line. Ruling on the field in a tent that is referee Brad Rogers. Denver quickly up to the line of scrimmage. I don't see a challenge flag yet 27 yards on the play lock trying to get the ball snapped. And he does so hand up to Melvin Gordon. Straight ahead. Gordon Powers his way. Inside the tent to about the eight. Maybe the seven Good job by Drew lock getting up and getting his team set Chris Jones in on that last tackle. Second down and seven. What throw that was my drew lock on the run, threaded the needle between two defenders. To Patrick. Stepping up as the number one wide receiver for the Denver Broncos team say, second down and goal now, so they must have spotted that ball at 10 and looks like it was just outside the 12th day from the seven lock of the shotgun formation. Pressure looks right past completed and pull down at the one and that is Patrick again, Patrick pulled down just outside the one by Anthony Hitchens, the seven year linebacker out of Iowa. Good, accurate throw there and it brings up a third down Now, let's see. Now they're going to spot it. I believe just about the two Folks. There's so much snow in the field right now that it's impossible. You could barely see the numbers, but we're gonna call this call this. The two third down and goal from the two big third down for the Broncos. No field goals today. Let's get some touchdowns. Broncos have not been good.

"For new hit is he throws throws the ball that will be deflected an incomplete at the 42 yard line. Bryce Callahan knocked it away from Julian Edelman. Callahan already has one interception of the game. And Cam Newton took a pretty good shot as he delivered that football. That was great. Can I just say that? Did you see the play that the tight end caught the ball and was sort of was sort of stopped? He was just stood up. And then Josie Jule came in and just clean them up, dropped the hammer. And I was like, Oh, Oh, now that's how you play. That's right. That is how you play is going on with Josie Jul Right now I love it. I love the enthusiasm. I love the fact that he is enjoying his time plan. Finally, I know it's always tough when you're young player. But, man, you gotta come with it when you get a chance. I think he's really respecting his snapped right now and The guy that I believe that is starting to turn the corner on this deep in literally. I mean, literally in the corner is none other. Then Bradley chose Denver. Russia's For Newton hit is he throws the ball bounces free. This rule is a bubble rolling around, and I think the Broncos have it at the 25. Newton got blind side pressure. That ball was dislodged before he could step into the throw. And now the officiating crew trying to uncover a massive Bodies, and they say New England has it that what a great what a great power rush. It was coming from Bradley tub, knocking the ball out of Cam Newton's arm..

"It was a bad break last year with Bryce Callahan that the screw in his foot was bent. Which Was something that encapsulated the Broncos season last year before Drew are quite nicely right was that Bryce Callahan couldn't get on the field because of his bent screw in his foot. But clearly both of those guys are going to be Needed. If the Denver Broncos are going to make it postseason run this year. Because with Callahan, you lose Chris Harris. They don't have him anymore. Callahan's kind of the guy at corner and then, of course, Simmons and cream Jackson. Are the safeties. But without Chris Harris, and if Bryce Callahan can't be on the field for some reason, Then the Broncos secondary is We're gonna have a lot of 35 to 30 games. This year because they're gonna have a hard time with think about this. Brady Brees, Mahomes twice You think about some of the quarterbacks and passing offenses that they're going to go against? They need. Bryce Callahan. And they definitely need Bradley Chub. As it starts with Vaughn and Chuck being able to get pressure on the passer, and then everything unfolds from there. And then we talk about this, this looming salary cap, flattening or or lowering next year. And the tough decisions that are going to have to be made and if the Broncos are committed To signing Justine Simmons long term that's basically all of their projected caps face. Will go to him. And if they're going to address any other need that they already have, or will I have come up. By the end of this season. We're going to need to sacrifice some guys and Bryce Callahan is somebody that you have to circle With the money that they gave him. And he missed all of last year. If he disappoints this year, he could be a prime cut candidate. As the Broncos try toe like many other teams, try toe finagle this with the Impending lowering of the salary cap. And then, of course, one of the big story lines of this camp is how Jerry Judy looks because Jerry Judy has gone a lot of heat for Ah, he in a good way for Potential offensive Rookie of the year Non Course, depending on the maturation in evolution of Drew lock. But here is Vic Fangio on his one of his rookie receivers. Good. Jerries come in here. You know, and he's a Got a good polish as receivers. Oh, comparing them to other receiver. Rookie receivers coming out of college runs. Good routes. Eyes got good change direction in good hands. Nice to see him make a couple place today. Now. I went back and looked and not surprisingly, Rookie wide receivers. Don't tend tohave. Pro huge, prolific seasons. You remember Percy Harvin? A while ago. Everyone remembers Randy Moss is Rookie year. But rookie wide receivers don't normally challenge that much for offensive. Rookie of the year. But the good news if you are a Broncos fan is that Jerry Judy Is not your primary. Receiver. It's Courtland Sutton. So I think if you could Unique corland son, Andrew lock. TV. One of the better wide receiver quarterback duos in the A. F. C. But then if you can Just creates a matchup problems. With Jerry Judy, on the other side take advantage of some teams that aren't as deep In the secondary. Then you can have some big place. I mean, that's the way I look at it. Look at it through the lens of what Emmanuel Sanders and Courtland Sutton used to be. Or before that. Emmanuel Sanders and to Marius Thomas. If you can get the regular production Out of Courtland Sutton. Then what you need Jerry. Duty to do is just make some big place. That's what Courtland son did when he wasn't the primary receiver. And that's what Emmanuel Sanders did. When to Marius Thomas was the main wide receiver. He'd be the big play guide. I think that's the way you have to look at Jerry Judy, which then makes you wonder why did they draft KJ handler? But I'm not rehashing this. They need two of them Now. We agreed on that. Let's move on right? But I think Sutton and Walk and Sutton are in AA. Walk and fans have to be Where you get most of your production. And then if you need a big play, you take advantage some matchup problems and go to Jerry, Judy. And I like Jerry Judy a lot in what Vic Fangio is saying they're about him. I think is, I think is true. I would have. The ideal scenario is never gonna happen with the ideal scenario for the Broncos would be Take your Tristen worths. With their first pick, and Jerry Judy hanging around around to that wasn't going to be the case ever. I like that they have Jerry Judy. I like that he's on the roster. It's just you had more pressing needs. And if you went worse and handler I think you'd be in a better situation, but I like Jerry Judy a lot. And I think he is the best of the bunch. I do think the Denver Broncos got the best wide receiver in this draft. In Jerry Judy. It's just with And make this the theme put this on a T shirt in the hand amount at Valley tempering expectations. Courtland Sutton is the guy. That you should have eye high expectations for what? Jerry Judy Rookie wide receivers. Don't do it a lot..

"Us on a tax line 56690 Good year. Mason, A 50. He does his homework. Yes, he does. I copy my homework out for him. I can't say that I didn't do that either. When I worked with him for two years, three of us were guys that people copying our homework. Let's not pretend it's probably the gates. Ah, let's see a couple of techs here. 56690 Remember, last year on Bryce Callahan got hurt the stadium practice? Yes. Benjamin was on the sideline for that game or practice. Yeah, that was a screw had cracked in his foot during that when I remember that it was you. Me, Mike. Right. Mike Rice up there in the eagle in the sky was gonna fund too because, well, we got a chance to use my boat, so I was on one opposite sideline. You are on the opposite the other one, and Mike Rice was up in the booth and we were just kind of walking around giving insight. And you, actually at that time broke the story. Bryce Callahan was not on the bench and going not going. Not going to return. We didn't It was undisclosed. I wouldn't tell me the nature of the injury at the time, but, yeah, Yeah, I was one of things happened right in front of us. There sounds interesting Tow. You know beyond that, So that picture you have of yourself on Twitter. I think you still have that header. Image. My profile? Yeah, that that actually came from that, did you? One more here from Chris. I'd hoped the defense can carry most of the weight they carry most of the salary. It's very true that the top in the lead, they're definitely right up there. Let's take a look at that a lot. Last time I checked, they were the the number one salary cap hit for a defense in the NFL, probably right and believe their offenses. The cheapest are in the right area. Oh, this question from Brian, who is hot, Take radio guy. Ah, it's an amalgamation of other personalities. It's not meant to be a specific person. But let me Give you a good thought Exercise. If I say hot, take radio guy and someone pops into your head. That's probably part of the formula Well, said Braddock, Kristall, RKO Broncos insider. "I think so because the talent level for those corners is good the question is the consistency can Bryce Callahan stay healthy can you be a return to form okay so you took top floats was going for top five and then we can but could be outside outside linebackers you're at your at your address yours and you say it is never too your safety is our number two right that's those articles then you go the defensive ends and your audience while with the to the top three here we're going offense and defense top three go de ends with Casey and all the okay and then five you get a running backs it was for I'm sorry for ignoring the X. force running backs Melvin Gordon fill plenty many other savers five receivers before you can get your cars because large receivers and then tight ends you've heard the Titans I don't expect that one like that I think they're pretty deep at tight end it's called the we're gonna have a a tight end on a little bit later to talk about our M. Austin forgot about that but just a little bit it's a pretty loaded room some of there's gonna be some odd man out that familiar faces right here when all said and done where and so we and then the bottom five for me we have to do all all five but the bottom ones we we mentioned you top of the corner store with inside linebackers play quarterback off its Ackles even though you've got even though you got drew lock any quarterbacks behind him worse adult a cavalcade of unknown you know I mean Jeff Driskel kind of just the guy he all but this was by design van with everybody keeps telling me I want somebody that the fan base it is but as I did change that just because I'm saying it doesn't change that but it's it's you know it is one of those things where you don't want you don't what cam Newton back there were you got a fan base in a locker room it's now split on which guy should be planned everybody keeps telling me why I'm telling you got you got to have all these unknowns behind your starter because you know it doesn't really matter that you're gonna go to your back up at some point to guide you committed to then you want that to be the guy does matter of sixty was sixty five percent last year went to backup quarterback speakers but that stat jesters because well it's because we're back to any played fairly well on a bad team that we are you pretending that Detroit Lansing was good I'd love to hear that I I you pretending that Jeff Driskel played well be played admirably all the as well as nebulous terms it doesn't actually talked about earlier yes Sir I did they're catchable ball yeah catchable balls all balls are catchable if they're thrown in the right direction this room Chris said suffer me for twenty twenty outside linebackers safeties guards then wide receivers I got with him I I think I put those groups ahead of my running backs that that isn't to take away from Phil plans in Melvin Gordon what I think they can be as a as a one two punch but yeah I think the Broncos starting wide receivers are even with the projection even if we are taking a bit of a leap our special asked if Chad Johnson tweeting out the if true number one wide receivers on this team hi she's at their pre what number one wide receivers they said the same thing about the Minnesota Vikings with head like city ricin in Troy Williamson generations of moments I'm sure they do I'm sure that he did and I'm sure his family has been trying to that wall of his house the worst but you know it's it's bad we don't know what jury duty is yet we don't know what he is yet SO to quantify that and say that he's a bona fide number one even a number two is a disservice to the other players on the roster because we don't know I like this don't forget kicker and punter yes you know what what way we well played yeah died stickers are people too we actually interviewed Sam Martin Broncos punter on Broncos country tied the TV show so if you get a chance to go check that out it's up on the Broncos YouTube channel you can see is interviewing Sam Martin as he was coming off the practice field we asked him if he filmed the practice because again if you don't put on Instagram did you even work out did you even your cat is like easy you know breaking a sweat I'm like you could just walk out there to the middle the field breaking a sweat and then started up the camera guys just got done working out so you can work out don't have you heard as a thousand reps right there right I L. revising or for Chris is revising his list here outside linebacker safety wide receiver D. end at four kind of going with you there a little bit I you you do get you to DO that three sorry I was it was Bernard Berrian metro and some of the other guy opposite Sidney rice yeah what's wrong with you I had to go back and look what what is the bottom one that that is good I mean if it doesn't mean the worst tandem yeah the worst pair feels like that's scary in this NFL scores the biggest unknown is that why I think the the tackle positions when that's going to get the most notoriety as a quarter officer tackled kinda has to be because that's the one position it was talked about more than any other in sports talk radio land this offseason pockets one corner I mean if if they're up to if durables play like it was the final five weeks this season joined James Pilecki was every other year then the tackle positions actually a strength but that's a there's a lot of ifs in that sense there were a few or call the legion of ifs yeah the ricin thirteen hundred yards in his third season no one ever heard thirteen hundred what ever heard from him again stick that in your pipe and smoke it thirteen hundred I called in one season and thirty five hundred in his career his seven year career Jody Jordan with an update here at the top of the sorry bottom of the R. forty four thousand new coronavirus cases yesterday hello the latest we're here from our support we come back it's "The first offense of Broncos place after Callahan we go back to the raiders game days where we had the same conversation that he re aggravated his foot a week later before the bears I told you that the screw wasn't working right it was essentially broken the pages that band and then I doubt he would get back on the field this year and that has come to pass unfortunately so Bryce Callahan a lost year for the Broncos talk a little bit about your one James and Jeff fire Minnesota Jeff warming up with the big rap on his right knee neither of those two guys will go today can we expect there should Broncos fans expect them to play in buffalo I I think that hire men probably is a little better chance and James I think they're just also being extra cautious with James but I do think there's a chance to see both of them one other name all through there to DaMarcus Walker who won't go today he needs one more week for that shoulder to heal up so Adam got this is gonna get to play in locker spot again and then we will see Walker against the bills next week and hopefully higher managing those well one name that brokers trance certainly are familiar with them and want to see out there for a number of reasons is to lock you practice some this week he did an I. S. Vic Fangio Thursday how did he look in those limited eight to ten reps with the Broncos offense as well as part of the scout team work and expand you who doesn't have women's that often said he looked good and they clearly had been studying in his time off and was caught up on the offense and so it seemed like it was almost impressed by drew's knowledge of the offense how quickly it on the field in some ways that was dictated by the plate right now I finally became the Broncos.

"Driving home here are the three stories that are driving drive time sports. alright here we go with story is numero uno yeah he has a yeah I met with the doctors that did the surgery over the weekend and they have to win a procedure today and you know he's gonna be out at least four to six more weeks. that is Vic Fangio on the status of free agent cornerback Brice Callahan. who is now going to be out for awhile. no he's questionable were working him back out for at least a nother month and this was a guy that the Denver Broncos signed in order to boost their secondary and we've seen the issues this secondary has had the first three weeks of the season without him Kareem Jackson playing out of position Isaac the item playing a position. and it's been difficult to shuffle everybody in the secondary to account for the loss of Bryce Callahan and at this point I think you have to start to wonder is this just is not getting better in this is kind of an unforeseen development or did the Broncos not do their due diligence on this this is a guy that was hurt. had the foot injury broke his foot last year for the bears did not. play the rest of the season from that point on. Broncos signed him to a pretty hefty contract expected him told us. that they expected him to be a big part of this team and now. the best case scenario form as we'll see in halfway through the season. when you're coming off of a foot injury. no. I should say now I shouldn't speak in absolutes when it comes to that that in my statement. most teams. where do their due diligence looking into such an injury so I'm leaning towards this is unforeseen. but a part of me wonders if maybe the Broncos dropped the ball on their evaluation of Bryce Callahan's health. but that aside. it's disappointing for eighteen that's trying to turn it around. and could really use. a nother talented corner given that maybe not this week. but next week fill up. two weeks after that my homes. Stafford Mayfield. rivers again my homes again car again. so. it's difficult for the Broncos to indoor this. this what is been a continued loss of Bryce Callahan and now he will be out of for at least the next month. which would put him in roughly around what the bye week. so. no Bryce Callahan for while you did here on the CBS sports update that jailing Ramsey also hurts so jacks have in their own corner back issues. Jaguars putting on a brave face and telling everybody that this back injury that all the sun is flaring up was reported to them by Jalin rains the last week in the Thursday night football game. I'm gonna call him on it save I think they're trying to protect him they're trying to smooth things over I this is a little bit too coincidental given that he just called off sick couple of days ago and now is a back injury. I fully expect. the injury reports for the jags over the next couple of days to say Jhelum Ramsey out parentheses jury duty Jhelum Ramsey out. parentheses had a thing. so jail Ramsey may or may not play Bryce callin definitely will not on Sunday which leads us to really. the biggest story that will be on Sunday here story number two yeah so the attends a broken hand there's like I mean I was really the only way for me to get a get arrested a red shirt you know at the time he needs to get a medical side the bright idea to try to break my hand but it didn't work you know I guess fortunately I mean I was like a bag is pretty dumb believe it or not the brand's pretty dumb but yeah that was a. you know but as as as always W. we know what would you do to play more ball and that's been done anything. that's to the Broncos are going up against on Sunday Gardner means you. America's quarterback. so little more bit more context for what you just heard Carter man she was at east Carolina wanted the medical right sure you know that already he apparently drank a fair amount of Jack Daniels. I would have suggested Everclear to be honest like if you want to get really nam. not that I advocate any of that pre please drink responsibly. do I need to put that in there but at any rate drinks a bunch of Jack Daniels and hits his hand with a hammer not once not twice but three times. take. I guess that's the way we put it it didn't take and when his coaches at easy you ask them what happened to your hand with probably an expletive mixed in there. government you said it slamming the car door. I'm telling you Gardner Menchu is a more likable Baker Mayfield he has all the animal magnetism of Baker Mayfield without the cocky. like. under earned cockiness of Baker Mayfield love Gardner Menchu. and he's quickly becoming a pretty hot commodity in the NFL I don't think he's to the point where someone would hand the keys to the franchise to home but if you're looking for depth at the quarterback position I gotta believe that Gartner main she's going to be someone on your list the funny thing is that the lie he told that probably would have broke his hand if it actually done that. hit your hand three times with a hammer. wall of anything in your life as much as Gardner man she loves football. please do that. I don't love my kids as much as Gardner man she loves football. I gotta tell ya. I don't know what scenario would come up where hitting my hand with a hammer. would it. be related to my children but I promise you I'm not gonna do it. well my gosh garner means you. and if there was a freaky Friday type a scenario where Joe Flacco in garner made shoe switch teams for Sunday what it what the Broncos are going thru be much better like you would be taking what's happened with the Broncos much better if Gardner mean she was a quarterback as you listen to him speak and you just feel like the guy is a national treasure. but alas he is not. far less likable Joe Flacco will oppose him on Sunday. finally today here store number three. two one one out for black men the pitch.

Antonio brown. this is taken a a very dark turn you know aids it's one thing to be. a complete jerk and do what he did to the raiders. right but these allegations are being made by this trainer or at a whole nother level and then almost goes without saying right and like I said to start the show is very the details you want to look at it yourself go ahead I'm. And if heaven Coleman's only getting two years ten million what's TJ Yeldan getting. No idea. But this signing did just come down. Former bears cornerback Bryce Callahan goes to the Denver Broncos three years twenty one million dollars that includes ten million dollars fully guaranteed. That's not that small of a deal cornerback Bryce Callahan goes from the bears to the Denver Broncos. That's courtesy of Adam Schefter. Okay. Let's get to choose your fate at eight. Twigs message to giants fans the forty nine or running back rumor mill and k D's shoe rankings. And so. Tweets. Message to giants fans had it all the way up until the end. But instead winner is. Yeah. We got to get to the forty nine and running back rumor mill apparently the text line. Also, just blow off apparent I kept saying these Sesame Street apparently animals from the Muppets. There's there's overlap there isn't there is there. No overlap there. I mean, what do what do you think? What do you think? Bert and Ernie are. The Muppets they're not Muppets. But you know, what I'm talking about? Anyway. Anyway. We did have a very intricate. Yeah. Not even close, right? We don't really intricate text on this eight oh five animal from the muppet show was widely considered to be based on Keith moon of the who as well as Bonzo from Led Zeppelin. Which has got to be the most clip Clave in tax that we've gotten so far on this show. And I mean that is a huge compliment. And I know junior you're looking at me, you don't even know who clerk Flavin is. Of course. I don't k-. I like fun facts. Like that though, please keep on texting live claiming is a is a very famous character from the television show. Cheers. Okay. That's the mailman at the corner of the bar there. And cheers actually just watched the documentary because you know, that's old called the eighties on CNN out to get one. You check it out. It's on Netflix. That's rude. Cheers as I conduct dude. Just because something's all I'm sorry. We brought them will Clark the other night. You wanted to talk about him. He's from the eighties. Also, he coaches though. We'll older than cheers. I'm pretty sure about that. He turned fifty five. I don't think Jerry's is fifty-five yet. But anyway. Yeah. Burned earlier puppet says the tax plan the other guys are that. Well, they rhyme. It's only one letter. Nineteen eighty two. Well, Clark born before nineteen eighty two. Well, we'll Clark was not in the bigs yet by the time cheers came out. But is still in syndication today. I mean junior have you ever heard of I love Lucy. Yes. I wanna say I know one of the from it. What is it? What are you? What are you know, if you probably said, it'd be like, oh, yeah. That one. Luc- got some. That's the one, okay? By the way, that's before my time, even okay? But when things are iconic there a comic cheers. I comic though, this thing watch the twilight zone, like the old ones, that's way, older than cheers. Cheers knows are on Netflix, by the way, John Ratzenberger who played cliff flavored on cheers as famously been a voice in a lot of the Disney Pixar cartoons that you watch. Oh, okay. Okay. Go look them up. Okay. Go look them up. Please. You do your cheer? If we're gonna win on this show, where you're going to need to knows there's going to be cheers references, and I am not apologize. Okay. You look at game of thrones. Look at cheers fair watched. Both of those fair totally fair. And then we'll have a debate about which ones about care. Both iconic. Boy, we're we're really messing up. Choose your fate at eight people like we chose the topic. And you guys aren't talking about it here. It is forty nine or running back rumor mill this is fascinating to me because the forty Niners today signed Ricky most to an extension. Fun. Fact Kyle Shanahan has never activated for running backs in a game in his life. So what are we doing here? Moster Brita McKinnon Tevin Coleman. What's the deal? You gotta deactivate one of them each week. And if you do guess what not gonna be most? He's one of their best special teamer. I mean, did we suddenly get to a point where we're de-activating Matt Rita on game day is he just an insurance policy or is something about to go down because I've also seen forty nine or voices. I trust who've said today on social media expect more running back movement from the Niners soon. And I didn't take that to mean. They're gonna sign another one. I took that to mean. Whatever might be on the block. Not like J lo on the block. She's from the block one of these guys might be on the block. I don't know which one it's obviously not in Coleman. If MacKinnon was gonna be cut. You're not gonna do that until June. There's financial reasons for that. As far as the cap hit. His Breda on the block Matt Brita at a draft pick for a really good receiver something like that. Pretty interesting. We know Kyle Shanahan loves speed. We know that he wants depth at running back, and what happened at the position last year that makes all the sense in the world that they would bolster up, you know, like get.

"In his fifth season. With Chicago Bears. He'll be twenty six at running back BUSTER screened the cornerback that Chicago Bears are going to sign as well. I he is twenty nine. With the jets last season. He played in fourteen games. Hit fifty two tackles fifty fifty solo tackles, fifty eight total. He had a half sack. He had seven passes deflected. No interceptions by season for BUSTER screen. He's actually had your -ception wise. He's had nine in his career. Four was the most we played with the Cleveland Browns in two thousand fourteen so Bryce Callahan probably out for the Chicago Bears. Pearson's how do you feel about that? I thought it brace Callahan coming into this offseason was the number one priority was to re sign Bryce Callahan and keep the secondary can together. But now you're bringing in someone else, which means Callahan's, probably unlikely gone. Well, now, ultimately also are you upset that they weren't in on Levy on bell? Like we heard reports earlier today that they were one of the team's name to be after levian bell. Is this because they found out they were out one of the because they know they can't ultimately afford the money. He's going to want with their calf situation. They would have to move a few. You guys in order to have the money for levian Belle. Are you upset that this is a guy that ultimately not a lot of us have heard of they didn't they didn't get that. Big free agent splash. Now, it's just day one. They could get some guys. But ultimately, they're also not a team that is set up to make a big splash. They have all their big name guys. They have their quarterback..

"Do you value the nickel slot cover guy more now because that's become such a key weapon for most teams in their offense. Most teams have a third wide receiver on the field on a lot of really good wide. Receivers operate from the slot. So which which is more important, I value the swap position. I think that say it's kind of like a pass rushing specialist. I give it the equivalent. So give me the guy that can cover that slot receiver and really doing nice job. I think it's good. I think it's easier, and it's hard to say in this city that hasn't been able to find safeties any period of time. Right. But I think it's easier to replace the safety than it is to find a slot receiver are the slot corner. Even though you think that's the third corner. It's very difficult to do what those guys do. He's a starter. Basically at this point. Right. Your most teams nickel, you know. Yeah. You said, well, he's the third corner is not a starter. Most of them start in sub pack set a time basis base. Offense is our only played about thirty five thirty seven percent of the time. So you're in a sub package or nickel or a dime package. Sixty five percent of the top three percent of the time. I mean, it's a lot. And a lot of times you're starting out that way anyway. He's starting dime. Yeah. I think I'm with you. I would think if you've got to choose between the two I would pay Bryce Callahan in Bill barn. Wells five moves forever team that he did last week that was number two on his list for the bears. His number one was finding meaningful competitor for Cody parkey that that's like that's happening. You won't be back. It's not a competitor to replace. Yeah. Right. And he sort of eluded that he talked about the kid. They signed in the future contract was at Robert Redford's kid, right? What's his name? Chuck redford. What's his name ready silo Redford beam, Redford vilo Beto would they signed some Redford guy? Rob Bradford's nephew who's great nephew. I think the number two in his list was picked between Bryce Callahan Jones for Jones eggo pick between Bryce Callahan Adrian, ammos. And he writes, the only two notable free agents for the bears are in the secondary. We're almost as quietly rounded into an above average starter amid the unmissable playmaking ability of fellow safety. Eddie Jackson, the depressed safety market for eight the eighteen off season in the presence of bigger names. Like Earl Thomas, lamarcus Joyner Tyron Matthew, and ha ha Clinton Dix could keep Amos's price down at quarter. Meanwhile, Callahan built upon an underrated seventeen season with the more. Impressive eighteen before going out with a broken foot Kellyanne benefited from playing on an excellent defense at multiple levels. But it's also telling it the winning touchdown pass for for the eagles in the postseason tilt was thrown to golden Tate who was working against sheriff. Mcmanus who was Callahan's replacement in the slot off the two I think the bears probably end up resigning, ammos, they've already committed serious money to their to outside corners and fuller and amukamara who will make a combined twenty three million and cap it in two thousand nineteen the quarterback market is thinner than the safety market which will make Callahan more of a precious commodity Callahan. Also has managed a complete full sixteen game season as a pro. And he has missed sixteen games because of injury over his four seasons in Chicago. So he kind of spells it out for you. And he thinks that they'll end up going with a most. But in our opinion, they should try to get Bryce Callaghan resigned. Other things on barn wells list, sit out free agency, which kind of makes sense. This is the first time really that Ryan pace and flush with cap space. They did a good job putting themselves in favorable positions. Now they've gone out. And they've given some big contracts out, and they've got what they think is the team that they're going to hopefully win within the next couple of years, and there's not a lot of wiggle room. I mean, they can free up some money like. That's another thing on his list number four was cut Dion SIMS, and you can get some money cleared up way down. He's bad. He's making too much money for a blocking tight Andy just is. I mean, it's like six million bucks. It's way too much not productive. That was one of the mistakes. He had made years past. Yeah. You're right. Sign with some wide receivers that were horrific and then finally find a twenty twenty replacement twenty twenty he writes for Jordan Howard while Howard excel during his rookie campaign in sixteen. He's been a productive running back, but as efficiency metrics have fallen in his career Howard average five point one yards per carry and posted a forty nine percent. Success rate is a rookie in seventeen the average four point one yards per rush and its success rate fell to forty two percent which was thirty fifth in the league last season. Wallace is his success rate. Pop back up to fifty percent. He averaged just three point seven yards per carry cone is the running back really seems to excel in the offense, although consistency. Still a problem for the Twenty-three-year-old Chicago should likely expect Howard to move on after nineteen and it should start looking for a back to shoulder his half of the workload as early as this April. And I don't think there's any doubt about it. That is priority number one for Ryan pace and Matt Nagy, especially now, the Kareem hunt has signed with the Cleveland Browns. Yes, they don't have a first or second round pick. But you can find really really good running backs Allah hunt. I'll. Alvin Kamara and a lot of other guys James white and a lot of other guys in the third fourth and fifth round. Dexter williams. Could be on the board when the bears pick in the third round. Or in the fourth round, probably third round Bryce love. He's got serious injury concerns. I get it could be there by Ryan pace loves that kind of player somebody that's been injured before. And you get a tremendous value ally. Eddie Jags Jackson. Yeah. Rodney Rodney Anderson kid from Oklahoma another one who's had three serious injuries. But people are going to look at his talent. Like Eddie Jackson your goes right with the talent says second round, but because of two leg injuries were the bears. Get him the fourth round. I think I believe Jackson. So the talent for Rodney Anderson probably says first round, but three injuries that could mean fourth round. Yes, now, there's a risk there. But there are gonna be players for them to choose from in the third and fourth round and you can find homerun hitters. Do you? Remember we talked to Brian Kelly during the season. I think it was before the SEC game. Maybe. I can't remember I might have that wrong. Maybe it was the tech. Maybe he's one of their bigger games. Let's let's call it Virginia Tech and the Virginia think you're mad at you. I'm sorry for Jimmy attack. Yeah. And I think Dexter Williamson it back for a few games. And you were getting like the full glimpse of what he brought to that offense. And we asked Brian Kelly about him and very simple. He said, well, he's a home run hitter. I mean, that's what he is. He's got it, and Harry stand knows him. Well, and is going to give the book the bears a good scouting report. And there are going to be players like that for them to choose from in those mid rounds. And they better make sure they address that. And I think it's priority number one for them. Come april. All right. We'll a little bit more baseball coming up here. The latest will fill you in on. "Already scheduled to make fourteen point seven five this year. The releasing him takes away just about half of that. So I think replacing Jenkins and replacing his production is going to be easier on a cheaper contract for either even rookie and remember Sam Bill will be on the team in twenty nineteen. The third round supper. Memento draft pick. So he'll be in the cornerback rotation. I think replacing Jenkins is going to be much easier. Especially when you look at some of the the free agents that could be available. If you wanna go Kareem Jackson is on the older side. But he might not get a lot of money in free agency. You can bring him in the Morris Claiborne, then you have dies even if you wanna go nickle like Justin Coleman from the Seahawks. You're Bryce Callahan from the bears. If you want to take a just a watery shot, low risk high reward, you can go Jason beret from the chargers who hasn't really been healthy into years. But when he's been healthy is one of the top quarterbacks in the week. If you give him maybe an incentive Laden deal that has low guarantees and he pans out. And that's that's a top quarter that you have you have Bradley Roby who is going to be free agent. Someone like Ronald Darby even Orlando scam. Drake was much better than his his perception in Kansas City this year. There are a lot of free agents here where I think you don't have to be paying the chickens premium to get that type of quality, which I think you would have to do to replace Vernon us. So I think trying to go out and replacing Jenkins just makes a lot more sense financially and with on the field production to me. Yeah. I absolutely see that. But I personally would just leave Jenkins alone and try to upgrade around me again fix the free safety position. Because then you have that guy back there. Facilitating communication getting the right getting assignments, right? And providing the double team where it needs to be which I think would help both corners, and like you said they will beginning Sam Beal, he is we've talked before he has all the physical tools. You can ask for except maybe a little bit of. Strengthen thickness. But when it comes to just his feet and hips inability to just get in a receivers hip pocket in stay there. He's got that ability. And I think having him as your number two corner would end fixing the free safety position would allow Becher to call more of that pressman coverage that he likes which is also what Jenkins excels, and that's when he's at his best when he can just man up and stick with a corner instead of playing more zone coverages, which was what the giants kinda had to do when they moved to having BW web on the field every snap and try to give Curtis Riley less field to cover. Yeah. We're not going to disagree on free safety being a major piece of emphasis going into the off season. I when you look at just did safety. It's. It's an interesting free agent class..
