We liked chunks. Done we do like chunks. Cam says when dealing with time travel you have to maintain the internal logic of it and it's various similitude in order for not to become a crutch absolutely i you have to you have to set up rules and then stick to those rules. That's that's all i mean. It's pretty simple. It's funny how how many people actually break those rules in their films. Sometimes lamp shade their lack of creativity. By saying. We're not going to sit here and talk about time. Travel by arranging straws. And it's like no. This is why i'm here. You should talk about it. Bruce willis Just wanna recommend a really different. "Such as barnes and noble. And i have been kind of going across the south west albuquerque phoenix flagstaff. And i happen seeing Healer of the water monster on those book store shelves. And that's been a lovely amazing experience for me. That was one of my goals. Was having my book on barnes and noble but i i have been Uncovering is that these. Big cities have access to the stories but the navajo nation didn't the chaos and the people living on their don't have that same access. It's not as readily readily accessible. Because they have to travel to these big border towns where there is Like an indie bookstore. Or there is a barnes and noble or the only other option. Assume haven't mail. And because of that. I know that there are a number of navajo young readers that aren't getting being able to get getting exposed to it so i'm trying to do right. Now is find on a structure an infrastructure of distribution to directly on the keio and that's been Kind of challenge. But hopefully what. I'm learning and what i'm doing will provide a pathway for future navajo authors. Who wants to write for young navajo ears that they'd be able to use this infrastructure that i'm hoping to find well i'm excited to hear you know what would becomes of all that Very exciting to be talking with bryan young today. "Person that leads the charge and help support others. That are tried to bring up the quality thing the last time because i see a lot of people firing. They're rolling qa into the team but they're rolling superficial Qa into the team and then no and they're firing everyone else so there's no one else to do it and then they're like oh cube as being done in the team. I'm like no you have a gap. Now organizationally you have a choice you can. You can choose not to fill that. But i think that's short sighted. Bryan young is one of those. So it's it's not even it's the expertise on fighting. Yeah that's that's my biggest fear with celebrating something like this which we should because it's an interesting evolution is that someone upstream says I can get rid of a role. I can save some money. I can do with correct when in reality they blindly do that and make things harder where there's so much of a system that has to be set up for this to be successful that you didn't it didn't fire people right you. You gave them a different area to focus right. Cracked is even the multitasking. I've seen years ago. It's evolved away from this. But when in the early instances of scrum product managers became product owners. So they had both roles so is overloaded role and that was just incredibly common so these poor product and and if you look at product management product management is really if you look like pragmatic marketing and the the depth and breath of the role in big companies is frigging like a lot of stuff. Yeah do pricing. You do sales programs. You do a presentation stuff. The all externally facing stuff. So it's it's time consuming and then the cobbled together now your product owner to yeah and i also worry about that overload of the so. There's a professional nature of it. But it's you want people to do it. I don't mind if you could be a pm and a po in monroe and do a kick ass job on both sides than do it. But i see so if you yeah. I'm i'm in my role. I'm actually actively doing the opposite of of this because we had a single person trying to do all these things and we just. We aren't there so we need to have distinct product manager roles and distinct product owner roles and and make that a thing over time five years from now as we evolve as an organization. There's a potential that we could get to eric and his team were. But we're we're not there yet. We are doing the opposite to make sure we have consistency and clarity and and we actually create that healthy system that you had that you could say okay. Let's fine tune this with there are so many people that aren't in the fine tuning mode. It's like we just need to do the thing and do it well. I think that's hard enough to keyword that you said there is healthy system. The system that we had there was amazing. I it was. It was one of a kind and a lot of ways and i was super lucky to have that kind of environment where we could do those kinds of experiments and see new just took out of my mouth. I was gonna say kudos to you for running the experiment right or inspiring the experiment and try and the environment was safe for that as well right so so just i mean at the end of the i mean..

"They use all their guys. There's been multiple times where they send out two guys and covered in there, Dan, they're max protecting leaving the wide receiver to tight end to block to make sure golf doesn't get hit. He has time and a lot of times, you know, it's two receivers against seven or ABC's or linebackers back there, and they're still able to find a pocket to guilty. You know, you got cooks. I think Tyler higby the tight end is going to be a forgotten guy. So you is going to come up with a couple of big plays. And we saw how successful Erz was going again. I again, urge his better tight ends and ball, no doubt. But he'd be if you leave him alone. He's the guy. He's got good hands. And he's a guy that will be open. He will be forgotten about because you talk about Reynolds Reynolds is a guy, you know, he did it at a and m he's a guy that can make plays and cooks is the real deal is for a stretching the field. So they got weapons but a guy like he could be a loss guy. And then we'll see what Anderson can deliver the over under on him here in Vegas. I saw was forty one and a half yards rushing over coming off the big effort last week. But again, like we said, I mean, those holes were made by that offensive line on Dallas and to to do that against the Dallas defense that had been pretty solid over the last several weeks. I was very impressed with the Rams offense, Donald ensue. Is there a better combination that you can remember at defensive tackle? I can't remember a combo like that stuff. Field and Bryan Young. Yeah. That's pretty good right there. Best. Right there. You know, there's Niners inside out to Brooklyn McFarland and warrant born set. You know, there's there's been always a a few teams that can just put together two guys somehow gets guys in an interior that can dominate like that what is that? You can get two of the top fie lime that have played in the league for the past probably five to ten years together pretty much in their prime. So this is kinda rare but looking at the New Orleans Saints special going back to the how the Rams are going to kind of move the ball offensively Sheldon rank as s a huge loss for those shoes. Because you know, why it may not his his production may not so up the stats if you go back and look at the game where they play things dayquil week nine. He didn't he didn't have a lot of tackles. He didn't have a lot gets doubled. OT? He gets double. Yup. And that helps those linebackers. Anzalone Klein keeps guys off with them. It keeps guys off Cameron Jordan keeps guys awful. All those guys to make sure he's the one, but take it. But now he's not out there. So I can see over for C, J Anderson. I'm definitely I'm I'm thinking at least one touchdown at least eighty yards from the Anderson. I I'm thinking Todd Gurley at least five receptions, at least ten carries. And let's see I liked that. I liked I like if you give me five receptions for girly. I'm feeling good about this. So talk to me on who who do you like in the game? I mean, if you get right now New Orleans, they were three and a half point favorites down to three system. Money's come in on the Rams, we know New Orleans a little bit banged up. But at the end of the day, you know, still in the dome still breeze and a lot of people looking at the two old men breeze and Brady then you look at the two young guns. You know, you have Goth you have Mahomes, we already saw that Rams KC match was that fun on Monday night football. I know I'd love to see that again. But at the end of the day, I cannot count out New Orleans, and I cannot count out the old man Brady, we'll get to that in a minute. If you had to play this game, and you had to to Kate who do you like why and give me a score community and Williams score later in in the regular season early in the postseason. I would've told you come out and NFC is going to be the New Orleans Saints. But I'm telling you that loss of Shonen. Franken was going to be huge going to be huge because they're not gonna be able to stop the run like that. And because they're not gonna be able stop the run. It's going to be easier for golf because when you can run the ball as a quarterback is so much easier for you. You don't have to go out and push the ball down the field. You don't have to go out and do too much this managed to gain and give the ball to one of the best running backs in the league and C J Anderson the little bowling ball. Let them go and get some yards three or four yards because you know, if you get three.

"New book by great Mexican writer called Martine Solaris called don't send flowers. It is a just like. Dazzling in horrific and weirdly, sometimes funny investigation of of of crime, and sort of the state of things in the Gulf states of Mexico. It's set in a city called LA turn Dodd determinedly, and like a grizzled Cobb ex-cop Carlos Trevino's called into help solve the kidnapping of a local rich local businessman's daughter, and it is a trip through Mexico that often feels too horrific to be real. But sometimes too real to be fantasy. And for flip side of that if people like nonfiction, there's an incredible memoir that was published this year called the line becomes a river by Francisco conto, he's a Mexican American writer and scholar who in order to better understand the border after growing up near it. And studying it in graduate school became a border patrol agent for fears and deals with his own. It's very lyrical memoir. And it's about lived inexperience of the border by someone who is hate. What he is doing quite honestly, but feels better him than others doing it. And it was controversial on both sides, which I think makes it worthy of attention. And it's actually the writing is good enough to make it worthy of of your attention as well. Amazing. What's next? There's a question here about next year shows and specifically about which show will have a better season from Dr e went or dre went trae went determining. Determining likely than Dr wet. I'm really bad at this part of the job, which will have a better season next year, true detective or mind hunter. And these are, you know, you you're a little bit already on the record for to detective. But I'm curious if you could articulate your hopes and dreams for both shows, I think it's my daughter first of all venture, Andrew Dominik, directing season, two of mind hunter, second of all. I don't think mine honor is as locked into its tropes and into its storytelling devices and into its tone. I think it can still be a lot of different things. And I only think towards the sort of second half of the season. Did it really start to kind of go to the places that it wanted to go? I think that the Jonathan Groff co performance begin stronger and stronger as the season went on. And I just think it's got a little bit more room to work than true detective detective to be successful kind of has to go back to I seen it kind of has to. Oh back to its its roots. And that's going to be great. Like, I think if it does that we will have an awesome show on our hands. But for mine owner, I think mine owner can kinda be anything, and the might hunter's interests are not so much about you know, who done it as much as it's as as why done it, and that's the whole premise of the show. I I'm I'm with you, obviously and and excited about minehunter very excited, but might enter here's a question. I don't even know if you have an answer prepared for it or if you even care, but it's relevant. And by the time this podcast airs, it may have been answered but Bryan Young wants to know who we would pick to host the Oscars. And if you need a second to think about it, I've got I've got some IRA just straight up like the first word that came to my mind. We're Charles dance. Just just frowning and disappointed with everyone for their decision making and for the choice. Hello. He's just so over it. I do like that. I have three stages of picking one would be like, I I guess I don't care. It doesn't matter. They don't necessarily need a host..

"Com. He, he actually was the one that broke this mandala Rian scoop a few months back and you know, it turned out to be legit. How's it going? Jason, hey, rather me ended been trying to get you on for a year and Star Wars. I love. Eking out a nerdy out with you about Star Wars and your site has some of the best I inside info stuff that we can't even pokes like Seth photos and videos. So this news broke today. I wanna get your reaction. What? What? What are your thoughts on this new TV show in what we're learning about it? Well, a front, I was just like, oh, thank you for being about Mandal or because because that's what I had been hearing, and that's what I had reported. And then when I made it to the set, it wasn't Mandal or I don't think you know. So I was like, what is this. But, but anyways, but when Vava row put out the announcement on Instagram today, I was like, yes, because like even beyond all of that stuff, the Star Wars nerd or little boy in me, whatever. However, you wanna look at it, but like really, really excited. I was like, yeah, they have show called the Mandal Laurean like that's what I would call it. You know. Do you think they're going to call it Star Wars, the mandatory in, or do you think it's just gonna be called the Mendel orient? I don't know. It seems like like when it comes to animation like they won't use like a coal in or anything, they're like, no, no. Like Star Wars rebels like usually want them to sound like all extreme, and then they got rid of those episode titles on the movie episode, one, two, and three and all that. Yeah. So you know, who knows? But we are kind of in a place where I think it would be kind of interesting if they did try to lose the Star Wars logo all the time. That way things could kind of maybe breathe on their own at times because we all know it Star Wars gentleman told so I would be okay with that. That'd be cool. Okay. So what do you think of this concept which I know you've had time to sit with because you've run up? Yes, months ago and probably were sitting on it for bit. I remember talking to you Comecon and you're telling me about as like, publish it. So what do you think of this whole concept? Yeah, no, I, I love it. One of the things win. Clone wars was coming out like ten years ago now, which is crazy. I was sort of like, oh yeah, clone wars. We know about those battles. And then once they started moving into the mandatory and stuff, I was super excited by not because it was a bunch of vet people, but because it was like a part of the universe, we hadn't really done a lot with and then we're that left off, which I'm sure Bryan Young totally caught everyone up on. Yeah, it's it's, it's like, will what does happen to Mandal or like they were in the civil war? And then we see rebels and and you're like, it doesn't look too good there either looks like they're, you know, things aren't going. So swell necessarily for like what either side would want the the teen side that wants this peaceful Mandal or and then these death watch which Jon Favreau play the leader of. It's kind of it's such an interesting, like kind of like civil war element to it. So after the empire, like that's a fascinating time like the empire, the power vacuums gone..

"I'm seeing i'm looking up right now see if there is our interception early one i'm just curious okay it's got a ninety nine percent want to sit wasn't going to try to prove your i was just curious if there was actually there yet okay so would approved you're on take oh take this only ninety one percent wanna see soloist are we're story well that's because nerds terrible on the internet that's that's what it was down to but of those ninety one percent they're all feeling that that are are going gonna on wanna see ocean's eight than there are more percentage there's more percentage i have no idea what we're talking about and becca nine with incredible i'm going to stop looking at the f amount thing now so tickets for solo star wars story went on sale last thursday night and within the first twenty four hours presales already doubled black panther so solos yes so solo is not i mean it didn't be vendors infinity war but like we talked about that's ten years a storytelling building hold on we kind of proved ourself wrong because how how many years the storytelling is star wars granted this is a prequel you so there's a prequel this is not this is not being marketed as the culmination of all of these stories wait does this take place so this takes place about ten years before new hope because she says the he's one hundred ninety and in new hope he's two hundred where i mean i believe you he's two hundred but wears it said he's two hundred i want to say it is in one of the books it's cannon so bryan young said so so i'm going to take bryan young's word on that because in in real cannon or legends cannon real cannon he said it was in real cannon he's two hundred years old in a new hope so it's interesting because this movie is a movie that had a lot of ups and downs and people saying productions terrible protections grade bubble you know we hired a good actor he needs acting lessons but then also if you look at the clover so.
