"I think there's something that are frowned upon to like just just cracking jokes new crooked joke. My favorite part though is that he wouldn't fool like i learned by watching you keep blaming the forefathers like the ancestors of basil media you know. Listen you could say if you looked at the numbers if you're into that sort of thing that when he went to houston garrett cole that his spin rate did joke. That is the loss of d. Did take an uptake thing. That drives me the most nuts about this. Is it sort of understood. That pitchers always use aids. I mean i certainly in my day even in fast pitch played with pitchers that would use a little something something right to help with their grip but their complaint is well. If i can't use these instances then i'm going to be pitching these hundred mile per hour pitches and i don't know where they're gonna go well then that pitch shouldn't be in your repertoire. Is you need to use some sticky substance in order to knock corinne someone in the head with it so either. Crackdown on it or not. But the ironic part about this boat to me. Is it in baseball. Where they have been complaining for years and years and years about pace of play they now want to eliminate the one thing that actually speeds up games and that is pitchers tools. Yeah but yeah but nobody nobody wants. This is right and now baseball is based but they're going to stop and frisk right gonna come out here every now and then up against the wall. See what you got. But i don't know other solution they have. Because there's no like when i look back what i was. A kid and guys will get caught cheating. It took something big to happen for. You actually be able to catch them cheating right. Joe negro throwing the imrie bored out of his back pocket. Kevin grows getting caught going up and down in his glove with this other stuff. Since baseball is all about grow mid touching sales. You can always put a little slow. I'm here putting a something there. Grab your cup. Scratch it around like this. He's different ways to do it now. They go have to stop and frisk which means the some pyre is going to have to give them club chris to wanted him. Do get a cough. You question which hitter had the more embarrassing non homerun all right. So we're going to nod home runs here. I could bryan hayes.

"All right now that I look at a truce, and I think the phone call was actually testing sure, And now he's back in the major leagues, which is all he's getting the call, which is actually a big deal, and if I had known this 15 minutes ago, We could've package this all as brewers middle infield, which we can do anyway, listening to the show, anyway, people but you're is back. So you know, kissing sure was a top 75 picked up 50 and so a lot of leagues Before this season, people expected him to have 30 home runs and that like 300. And he was adding first base eligibility. Now the Brewers are playing. I think Blake Snell tonight a lefty, and maybe they're facing other lefties this week, and that's why they're doing it. And you're obviously hit a Triple eight. Nashville There was never a question about that. 4 38 with a 14 32 0, P s and three home runs, but we can't forget what he did with the Brewers won 52 batting average one home run a lot of strikeouts. We forget these were people here has got stuff going on his personal life, but from a fantasy baseball angle, Cassie sure it needs to be rostered in all week. Because of what we saw from him the past couple seasons. Correct. We're now all leagues. I Yeah, Probably. I hasn't just because he did still show the swing and miss in Triple A, And that's really been the limitation for him. But you're right. It's a good stretch of schedule. They do get four lefties over the next nine days. They're also gonna get Lester Corbin and Matthew Boyd. So it is. It is a bit of an opportunity for him in the short term, and here's hoping that he does it right away. I mean, produces the numbers we expect in the preseason still is a good amount of pop. So what you thought about chest Secura say two months ago. Do you still think it here is roster and 42% of ESPN standard leagues, which I think is is reason reasonable based on the fact that he was the motive few weeks ago, but based on what we thought about him, do we still believe this is a guy with top 50 overall fantasy upside. You still believe that? So that's the thing I was never there. I that concerned about the strikeout rate he showed in the major leagues so far, but I also don't think he was far outside of that. And if we're gonna look at him as a more of a borderline top 100 guy on the high end, or at least the reasonably optimistic side, I think we're being fair Top 50. Don't feel like top. 50 was in the equation this year, and I don't know for sure. Do you have 100 tops? All right, so I could see he was. People were taking him over. Dominic Smith. Okay. Another bone and Bryan Hayes and Eddie Rosario and all these guys. Everybody loved testing. Jura. Yes, we're concerned about strike. Everybody loved Cassie. You, Adam ranked in the top hunter. Let's not go crazier. I did. I know. You know, we we discussed him. I think if you read catching your in your top 100, maybe the word love is an accurate You liked him enough to have me 500? Yes, He's got great potential, but he's got to make more contact. That's all it is. And once he does that, I think that there is start among the horizon..

"Inpatient care, outpatient care just to make sure that we're out there, um, and supporting them as we go through this next year of what knows what's going to happen. Breaking way. That's true. We way certainly don't know what's gonna happen next. Um, also joining us here in this part of the program is Bryan Hayes. Who is he, Um Public relations person at the end of ER. Excuse me, the Charles as Kettles Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Um, Brian, can you can you tell us a little bit about some of the protocols and procedures that people have to go through to get into the hospital today? Well, you can just, you know, becoming eligible patients, and then you can transfer your healthcare over just like you did, Dale. I would recommend it. Yeah, I got said many times as an employee of the health care system. I'm also user healthcare system is a veteran myself. The Navy So it's actually you could just go right online P a dog of the bottom of the page, There's a big button, you can click to become eligible for health care to get your paperwork in. Do your 10 10 easy. That's the form you fill out. Tonto. Get health care. It goes to a team. It's routed to a team right in the hospital on day vet that and the next thing you know, you'll get a phone call to get an appointment Step. It really is just about that easy. And the home all of the medical programs, I guess and procedures and things are those still going on at the hospital. Yeah, what we're doing, I think just about as many face to face appointments, as we always have, for those that are needed, where we can convert something to virtual for safety reasons or really, sometimes just for the convenience of the patients. Sometimes it's a long drive. On. We can convert that appointment. The virtual we're trying to do the best we can. With that. We've grown in the thousands of percentages in that number as far as our virtual care. Of course, we're still seeing our patients on a day to day basis basis. So you know the one of the messages we like to get out is Look if you need care. Get it. Come get it. Don't postpone your care because you think Cove it is getting in the way if you need an appointment to see a doctor. We'll get you. Okay. And just make sure you wear a mask, making him your distance and wash your hands and they have 33. Www is right Where? Masked wash your hands and watch your watch your distance, All right. And they're going to take your temperature when you walk in any house, So don't be worried about that. Thanks for Ryan. We're talking with Bryan Hayes from the Charles kettles of the hospital here in Ann Arbor. And our our special guest has been the director of the local Via. And that's Doctor Jin increase Hman. Doctor Chrisman. Is there anything else that you would like to head? Before we go to break Um, only that, you know, we're just here. We're here. We're looking forward to providing services to our veterans. We're looking for different ways to do it. I'm just going to say, for example, I just signed tonight. Unexamined tive decision memorandum. S so that we can support food iniquities, right. So a lot of our veterans and other folks in our community are having limited resource is so we are actually going to be partner with food gatherers..

"This is. The only sports talk show that features a rhode scholar. But he ain't here today now. Back to rick tittle tittle. What is going on great to have you with us. Those wrap up these teams here with these non tenure decisions have to do the biggest story in baseball when it comes to non tenders minnesota twins who will not tender eddie. Sorry sorry i was going to make about ten million ann arbor this guy. Ninety six home runs last four years. That's top thirty in baseball. The problem is he doesn't do anything else doesn't get on base. Can't run is defense is a liability. Twins have alex cure olov who is. Mlb ready remember. They thought so much care off that his major league debut was game to wildcard series. So he's just going to step in and that money that they're gonna save is going to go towards pitching happens. They're the mets. The mets have thirteen arbitration layers. Right now and you could say maybe only one or two is on the fence. I mean i would think year mo- heredia the outfielder. They don't need him. What about steven mats mats. I mean this guy was their top prospect. It'd be thought he'd be the as he'd be as good as degrom and syndergaard rejected to make little over five mil next year. But he allowed thirty three runs in thirty innings. And he's a guy who averages thirty starts a year you could say. He's the only guy in the mets that you can rely upon on whom you can rely. But i think with new york and the money they have. It would be stupid to cut him loose across the east river there. You got gary sanchez. Actually i should say up in the bronx not going to manhattan up in the bronx. They're still on long island. Technically gary sanchez. Talk about a bargain at five. And a half mil but there were some people who thought gary sanchez was the worst player in baseball last year. Worst player in baseball. But here's the thing. He wasn't the worst player in baseball. And the yankees. Don't have a lot of depth behind the plate. He's only twenty seven years old a year ago. He was an all star. Hit thirty four home runs so first of all. You're the yankees. You don't non tender guy five and a half million. How much you pay at your dinners stupid. So with the as their non tender candidates were pinder and camp. They've signed both of those guys. The fills velazquez for a million are days. You watch vince velazquez. It's and you wonder how anyone could have ever gotten a hit off them and then you wonder how he got a rookie ball. Talk about a feast or famine guy but still last two years with the er a over five. You could be a guy actor. Nearest had a seven million dollar option. And that's already been declined right there. So maybe the phillies trying. Save a little dasche there to the pirates. They don't have. I mean look they. They're so young. Maybe their biggest non tender guy colin moran play. I does he play outfield. he wouldn't even make two million in our so. I mean thing about moran is you could say he was their best hitter until they called up to bryan hayes. But it's berg has younger players who need at first base like josh bell or third base. Like hey are left field by brian reynolds. That's where moran plays so. I dunno bell backward. That had adam frazier but that's a decision for them. Cardinals don't have anybody. I mean coleman wong at a twelve and a half million dollar option which i thought was reasonable for what he brings air decline that they don't have any non tender candidate other than a guy named john brennan via a right handed pitcher. Who's gonna make eight hundred k the padres tommy. Fam- eight million projected non tendering him would have been unthinkable even after this down season and sam got stabbed and an altercation in october and it was called catastrophic injuries that will cause significant economic damage. And he's on the road to recovery apparently but that's One of those things where it's a really sad story. I'm getting stabbed at a the way. He sued the strip club in which he was stabbed. He was apparently trapped in the club. And that the employees didn't even call the cops. It's it's an ugly story the The giants last offseason signed anderson one day literally one day after he was non tendered by the rockies and he turned in okay season after coming back from From knee surgery. But he's gonna make maybe about four million and do they want to gamble on that. Other guys they could let go daniel robertson. They acquired league former as us back and raise player for got as well. I'm sure a lot of giants fans would like to drive. Trevor got to the airport to the cal. Train station was closer than cal. Trans lackluster mariners. Catcher tom murphy. Who cares. But i mean if you think about like j p crawford arbitration eligible. He's coming back. He won the gold glove at short. Mitch haniger got. Mvp votes was an all star. They're going to be tendered contracts. We know that even though the guy always gets floated and trade talks for some reason or another arrays with ji mon choi he still only make about a million and a half. They've already cut hunter. Renfrow a trade didn't really well. I mean at times it worked out but in the long run no that was for four million dollar option. We know that money might be a little tight down there as it always is. They walked away from charlie. Morton's option is now with the bravo's on fifteen mill rangers any santana a utility guy. Twenty eight home runs and twenty nine thousand nine this last year. He at one forty five. I don't know they think maybe income back at a lower salary guys. They'll keep around joey gallo. Isaiah kinda falesa rafael montero. They'll definitely keep those guys around blue jays. Travis shaw or and a half mil. They took a one year flyer on him. Didn't really work out. They're not trying to get guys. Like george springer and other big time candidates Up there in toronto see and they talked about making some splashes and then with the The nats who are no longer world series. Champion joe ross. Former bishop outta high school round. Pick of san diego probably let him walk. Even though i mean what's he gonna make a million and a half an arm the other guys. I have a feeling we'll get tender though it'd be want soto and trai turner.

"And we all know that they've been talking about how much they like Bryan Hayes, So I'm not that shocked. I mean, I think that you know, we'll see how it goes Well in the last years often survive was very good by the end. You know, they like the athleticism here, maybe maybe a little less of the power department overall, but Hey, I mean, so far, so good. That was that was a great performance. One of the best opening performance is certainly from Michigan Offensive lineman. I remember just not a lot of stuff to nitpick about. You know, everything was on the money to calls right there going the right way at all. It all made sense. So you know, a plus in Game one, and we'll see what happens again to well, Let's talk about the defence Nick. They had the Michigan had they did a good job, but I mean, Minnesota had a guy. I mean, their guy ran for 142 yards, they they were able to run up the middle. They were able to move the ball. They from a from a passing situation. They were mean Michigan very, very impressed with The secondary as young as those young men were even with Jackson. Hell getting hurt early, and I mean late in this first half, they came out. They kept playing. No one. No one freaked out. They came in German green played his butt off. I'm impressed with him. Vincent. Great is what we thought he is. He is He's in He's in the league of becoming, and all in all conference player. You know, it's something even better than that. But I mean, I thought my grown with with the hand injury that kind of slowed him down and then the emerging star in Mike Mike Mike Barrett. Mean that young man laid his butt off. Hey, I just like because he's number 23. That's what I like Tomas. Defensively, their decompress running back, Jamie. Exactly. I mean, I think I would also get credited Don brown. He did a nice job. I thought of You know, And they've done this in years past. You know what these offenses that like the track on the sideline and switch out of something Michigan often as you know, a switch right back that helps it out. I think they did a good job with that. Make sure that you know Bateman was bracketed pretty well, making sure that they were active up front. It just kind of doing the things they do best, which is, you know, bring pressure and be active in the front seven. That's what you know, all fails. If you have questions about guys in the back end, that's fine. But the front could help you out. And that's What we saw. You know, Minnesota really struggled to block mission at the point of attack, especially in passing situations, and I think that's going to be a pretty paint. Agent Hart. Agent Hutchinson. There are good You know? Ah, because eventually duo as you'll find, you know Michael Barrett. Is a guy that you know, I think a lot of us who follow Michigan football closely last couple years been talking about a lot because they've been very, very excited about him. He was Bit of a project player and that he was switching positions and growing into a new role. But you could see the athleticism. I mean, it's also I mean, it's ridiculous disguise for five Ah 45 sprinter whose 242 £31 who can hit good football instinct, a good competitor. All these things. I think they're really going to like what he turns into. Overall, there were some issues. I think you know, Minnesota is a good football team as well. And you know they were able to get some good stuff up. You know some of the some of the cuts out wide, you know, I think Michigan was a little wobbly in some of its run fit. It looked like a times in the second level. Some of the guys coming down from the back end as well. You know, when Dex and Hill goes out of the game, I think you saw, you know, maybe the drop off there a little bit. So some of that is Minnesota being a good team, and some of them may be having a couple issues, but nothing Nothing that was so alarming. I think, In fact, you know the production is going to get from Donovan Jeter was solid. They talked about him being ready to go that that panned out as well. So You know, overall solid, You know, not not terrific, but at the same time, I think this is the idea here. You know, when Minnesota starts moving the ball in the second half and finding some answers, you know good teams do in 2020. None of it mattered because everything that the ball back they walked down the field scored. That's what an offense that can score quick. It is very difficult to defend. Could do for you. Even if your defense has a rough day or even a little bit of an off day. Your offense has enough to keep you in the game. Get out in front. And make sure you get the win. And that's what that's what football is. Now. It's not the other way. You can't expect to go in there and just completely manhandled someone defensively and win a game. 10 to 3. This doesn't work so No, listen plan was exactly what it needed to be. I thought they were prepared across the board. Very well. Good game plans Well coached. I said this problem. You guys in some point, you know this season, I thought this weird shortened year. With all the preseason being trunk like that was going to tell us, you know a lot about which teams had approaching steps that airfield with good teachers and which teams have steps that are filled with good talkers. And he used to get so far proven that they've got a lot of good teachers because that was pretty well, pretty well prepared team overall. Well, Nick. The other side is the team up and over the road that'll be coming in this Saturday with with Mel Tucker, and I know that that really look like a disaster. I know they they come out there's turning the ball over left and right, but You know, even though they did that, even though the D'Antonio left him in a spot, and even though there was no spring, and even though it's a new staff, man, that was a complete and total disaster, like how do you see that? And you? You think that is Who? Michigan State iss or you see, like, okay, if they just get up these turnovers, you know, they did move the ball's Ah, What do you know What? How do you look at that? That that thing That they are going to have. You know what I would describe as an unforgiving year in terms of, you know their mental discipline, everything else and I think that's what was on it. I don't think they're They're that bad. I don't think they're seven turnovers a game. You know, losing the rock for seven weeks bad, you know, I mean, credit Rutgers for coming in with more energy and playing them as well..

So I think this is an opportunity for people out there. If you Ah need some assistance might want to give them a call. We have Ah, A friend that we know of whose son was in a really terrible automobile accident that their recovery at the Eisenhower Center, so it's civilians and veterans as well. And of course, we want to thank our local veterans service organizations that includes the American Legion Post number 46 here in Ann Arbor. W Post for 23. And the Charles as kettles, Vietnam. Veterans of America Post number 3 10 All of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Thank you guys. Men and women for all of your support. We couldn't do it without you. All right. So we're going to get right into our program now reminding you again that the local phone number is 734822 1600. I want to welcome our guest for today. Number one. We're talking about a health system. And that is Bryan Hayes and Brian is a public relations director for the Anne Arbor, Va. And Brian. Welcome to Veterans Radio. Hey, Dale. Thanks. Glad to be back clan Have you back? How are things going up there? Well, things are going really well for us. I mean, we're you know, we're still under quite a bit of restrictions as Faras. Visitors go and how patient things like that. But We are sort of opening things up a little bit. We're calling it the new normal. You know where folks are now able to bring in, you know, 11 visitor with them. You know a caretaker or something because they have an appointment. Doing a lot more face to face appointments. Now our surgery is almost up, Tio full speed. You know, It's not quite full speed yet, but it's up there. We're doing a lot of work and Doing the work that the veterans need us to do. We're also hiring a lot right now to case you haven't heard. We've a lot of a lot of community health care systems are kind of hurting through the coded crisis. Some of you are even talking bankruptcy. But a is hiring we need. We need health technicians We need especially nurses, particularly I c u nurse is right now we're in desperate need of I C u nurses and and even administrative folks. We need the administrative folks to back up all the clinical folks, And so that's that's kind of what's going on now and future. We've got quite a few things going on. Oh, you know, we're renaming the facility. As you remember. We talked last month were in the process of going through both chambers of Congress Right now, the renaming of the medical center to the Lieutenant Colonel Charles Kettles, Va Medical Center. We're going to remain a and R for health care system, but the hospital is getting in the game. I meant only that we also got our new intensive care unit will be coming online in just a couple of months. We're looking at mid September. For that. It's a brand new state of the art high tech intensive care unit. That's coming on or it was also getting ready to hopefully to a groundbreaking for our cannon, community based outpatient clinic coming up. We're scheduling that maybe for September. It could be early October, depending on Congressional schedules and things like that, and then some of the things that we have going on right now it's it's pretty busy for us at the time Clad to hear that you are are busy. There's lots of great information out there about the system number one is. I just got a news release the other day that thief, a surgical care is a better, too, or equivalent to non VA hospitals. I can attest to that. That's a research study that came out. I believe it was out of Dartmouth University about a year and 1/2 ago. Um, that showed that ah, the quality of care. Is that good or better and community hospitals by almost every metric every measure that have used one of our issues, you know that we have a B a nurse's way. We've got such stiff competition for nurses. Particularly in Ann Arbor. You know, with the education system that air here and also the whole, our health care system in the area of you know, it's just It's just really. It's very competitive for nurses and to keep him quote. So we like a little bit in that when it comes to the metrics of quality, But Faras patients getting their care were right up there with the best of them. And there was also a study that came out not too long ago from the Journal of the American Medical Association that show that waiter For the are actually better than community care. You know, for example, just I'm just gonna pull this around the top of my head. If you wanted a dermatology appointment at Via might take you a little longer than 30 days. Which is our our hearts the bar that we try to hit. I might take you 40 45 days to get a dermatology appointment, But you won't get that appointment anywhere else for six months. So So when we talk about comparing, you know, when we talk about wait times you have to say compared to what? Right Absolutely one of those is compared to black because I I have an appointment with a quote. I can't say this out loud. I guess a civilian dermatologist next October. I think it is so on. I feel fortunate to get that, but I know that there are other things going on. And maybe we could wait. Bring on our other two cats to talk a little bit about the funding that's happening in the budget. And so forth. But there was one other program. But then I saw that there were expanding funding for the emergency response for veterans experience.

"Three on the road game five in Milwaukee games three and four at oracle. So shockingly, it's, it's a rarity up here in Toronto with sports history. But people are actually feeling pretty confident today was there a moment last night, where you thought we have it or a moment last night, where you said, we don't have it a half second before Niklas, call that time out about five left on the clock and at about thirty seconds after play resumed collide. I Leonard he, he, he went, you know, legend, he went on a ten ten point run on his own and that building, I've been going there for twenty years. I have never felt that type of electricity courses through that building. It was ready to pop people were going crazy. And Steph curry MRs at three and you could tell Steph was dejected. You know, you, you could tell he, he was thinking here we go. We're or about to handover title, and I have no idea what Nick nurse was doing calling that time out. And then they come out of the time out and clay hits two-three stuff. It's three and Kawhi Leonard doesn't get another basket. And now they're heading back to Oakland. I said there was five seconds of bad fan behavior. I don't want to blame this on everybody there, obviously, but it felt like you know, it's an emotional moment. You're trying to win a championship. You're winning a championship for an entire country. Durant goes down. Everybody's excited because they know of Durant's you know, that calf injuries, you know back again. Hayes not gonna play and we got an even better chance. The fans didn't obviously understand the magnitude of it, but they quickly did your thoughts with the fan reaction to. Yeah. I think you're spot on, Dan. I think they're. There were three chapters to what happened last night with the Durant injury for starters. You've got to go back to even before the series began. We've been jokingly calling Durant John wick on our show because he's just the boogeyman that's in the shadows. And you know, if you show up you big trouble. So there's been a lot of trepidation coursing through it. The fan base here knowing who he is. And what he represents it didn't help that he shows up last night and hits. Too quick, threes and looks unbelievable in the first quarter. So there was a lot of angst because of who Durant was. And I think when he originally got injured the initial pop was people thought search of gotta steal now he didn't Durant, obviously blew out his achilles or whatever he did. He just kind of let go of the ball but you're right. I think it was human nature. The first three or four seconds like, wow, he's down. And that means the Rapids really have a shot at winning this title. That was the first chapter. The second chapter was the ugliness where people, I think understood the extent of. Is injury by no means was twenty thousand people, I'm not sure what the percentage of, of it was in terms of the crowd. But there it was loud enough. You could pick it up and they were cheering. The fact that this guy was significantly injured. That was the second chapter, the third chapter though, was redemption. I think for Toronto and typically Canadian because we had to apologize for our initial reaction, and people started chanting his name any got a huge applause, as he walked down the tunnel. So I don't think that third chapter has been brought up enough. I understand the lure and the captivity that comes with, you know, booing an injury and obviously, it leads to a lot of debate but there was a, a real sense of, you know, Soro for Kevin Durant in the crowd, and he, he did get a pretty decent champ, by the time he left her build them. I mentioned this yesterday. In fact, I think this poll question for a little while if I say to the, the, the country Canada, you can have a raptors championship or the Maple Leafs win. Another stanley. Cup. And I said, I, I don't think this is really a decision or choice like this is Canada winning a championship. You know, people in Alberta and Calgary couldn't care less about Toronto, winning a Stanley Cup. But it feels like you know, Canada would be able to embrace a championship in a sport that they haven't ever wanted championship before your thoughts on that..

There's a bunch of legendary music venues there. But there's also some very famous comedy venues, too, as well as very untied Fritz knows it was at the comedy store. Yeah. The toddler. Yeah. Yeah. This historical site. Now not only just for comedy, but also the show. For the cooking channel, or for us know for people who are going to Los Angeles. Oh, oh, I thought you were talking about us know Mike, if we know like if like when we've been in Los Angeles, which we go there all the time. Yeah, right. And you can go check out all of these awesome places. I think it's cool about L LA as you see houses that you recognize from TV shows. Yes, we see I actually we were all driving around, and we saw the Brady bunch house, and they can Sherman oaks before, but you drive around and I think we're driving from the airport a few years ago and see those poly within like knocking Toby plaza. I called my way my wife's favorite movies diehard, which makes you even hotter. And I said, baby knocking told me plaza, and she goes, I think it's actually a different name, like not, not for me. It's not like you can you find yourself just walking down the street and you don't know where you are. And you turn a corner. And there's the capital records building Amos, you know, such a famous piece of architecture. I guess, but it's just awesome to see that stuff and Tower Records was big in Los Angeles on sunset. He that's where they started. Yeah. They did amoeba. That's a strong one two. That's a great record store. I'm trying to. I would not want to have one of those houses that was famous. I have driven up my buddy Danny drove us to Sherman oaks, and we, he lives in Sherman oaks, and we saw the Brady bunch house, and they had a gate and they had a little sign that please don't knock on the door unless if you buy that house, you should embrace it and make money off it if I could make money off of it. But there there's an apartment building in New York. And it's in Greenwich Village in this is the exterior shot of Sarah. Jessica parker. Sex in the city. So the window is the exterior of her apartment in sex in the city. Now, what people don't know, and they come from all over the world, I guess, just to get pictures in front of that window, sir. Jessica Parker lives actually, lives one block over and you know, nobody knows that to go over there and maybe camp out her house to get a picture of her as opposed to this exterior of a Brownstone. Yes. Last week, the house from the sopranos. Tony soprano's house came on the market in New Jersey. I don't know what town but they said the estimated worth of a house of this size in this neighborhood is about one point six million dollars. The house is being sold for like three point two million almost double because of the novelty of the house. I wouldn't want it all I would. But man, you gotta put up with people driving up and knocking on the door. I guess what people do with this apprentice house people drive up, and they wear a bathrobe, and they take a picture himself coming down and dry with favor like Tony soprano people do that. Yes. Mclovin, if you took my sex in city tour, Dan, you would know that we put Sarah, Jessica Parker's real -partment on there to let me get to Brian Hayes, the host of overdrive. That's our Toronto affiliate TSN ten fifty the drive time show from four to seven. He was at the game last night. How is morale today? Brian. I think we're holding up. Okay. Dan, it was. It was a wild scene last night. And you know, Golden State's are great team. Their dynasty, obviously, but base squeaked out a win last night. You know they held control for the majority of the game. But at the end of the day, it's still three two and the raptors are seven and two since going down to nothing against Milwaukee..

"Well, we had two free ones that you lose under the three minute Mark, and we just came across and just decided to give those guys arrest. And we had we had back to back ones there that we would have lost under the three minute, Mark, and just thought we could use the extra energy push. Okay. You may lose those timeouts but does Golden State, keep those timeouts and if they call time out your guys will get a breather. My point was, you're on a roll. You got him on the ropes and I'm not worried about your guys needing a breather. If if your guys are tired. They're tired, and you guys are on a roll I put my foot down on the accelerator. And that's why I went well, okay. Because Golden State responded. They, they regrouped and they came back. And that was the difference there that stretch, but that those final sequences when you got Steph with the three and clay with the three specially the ball movement on clay to I can't say enough about how beautiful that was. That's where inside outside move to the other side, and you do it without any dribbles whatsoever. And even though quite came out to contest and Klay hit Klay practices that shot I was watching him previous game during warmups. I know I don't have a life, but I was wondering what clay does during warm? So we always see Steph clay will practice that pump fake. A lot because any did it he gave like he was gonna shoot clay? You know, quite came after him took step over bone hit Steph and clay practice what they do in the game as well as anybody I've ever seen a lot of players when they're practicing, when they're in warm. They're just shooting. There's no game like situation. But you watch those two it's this is where I get the ball what happens if somebody's on me if I take one dribble, if I do a pump Vic Steph is famous for shooting shots off balance, left hand, you know game like situations and you saw that last night in a microcosm Steph hit a big shot. And clay, thanks to ball movement with Golden State had the wide open jumper. Yup. Steph does little things. There is a plan the first African pulled on a three and he left his shooting arm out there and he made it kind of rigid. And as Fred vanfleet flew by he caught his arm. And vanfleet really didn't follow him, but he caught his arm and caused them to be spun and Steph did it on purpose? He totally baited him and left his arm out there and got spun around. There was no foul but he induced a foul. It's genius. Oliver in Los Angeles before we take a break Oliver, welcome to the program. Hey Dan, been listening for a year now with my new commute. Love your guy showed love, Dan. Love the danettes six foot one eighty. So a lot last night was just an epic choke by the Toronto Raptors. And then I agree, totally with you, the excellence of clay and stuff just went to work and just put the dagger in them. I mean, I cannot see the raptors coming back from not boss. If you if you saw the fans, I mean, it was they just took the heart out of that team in the city. I mean, Klay and Steph, and now they're playing for K D. I mean it's going to be tougher now the raptors to come back from that. All right. Well, thank you, Oliver and glad you joined the program there. Yeah. I wonder about this is it goes back to Golden State. I think we're under the impression that Golden State wins this game. And then it goes back to Toronto for game seven yes, mclovin. I said, the same thing when the Sixers jumped all over the raptors a couple of times. And, and when the bucks, I'll tell you the raptors have they got blown out in game six against the Sixers. I'm like, well, that's it. You know, the Sixers are gonna roll from here, and then they recovered. That's why I'm a little nervous. If I'm wars know. You're, you're down three games to two and you're without Kevin Durant. You're heading back home feels like if you had trouble predicting, which raptors team is going to come out nightly basis throughout the whole, Posey's. Yeah. Yeah..

"We'll check in with the raptors coming up in a little bit. We'll check in with the warriors. Next, our phone calls are welcome Ryan. In South Dakota leads us off his second hour. Hi, ryan. What do you have for me today? Martin dad morning, the I think it's really easy to play the blame game here. There's a lot of people involved with which ultimately, it's up to Evan Durant. If he wants to. Yes, it didn't sound like nobody, nobody was pressuring him to get out there, actually everything. You've heard from coach from Steve Kerr two other players like Draymond green. It was like, you know, just come back when, when you're ready, there was no pressure to do it. So I think it's again it's easy to play the blame game but ultimately, it's on Kevin. And I don't want to blame him but he made the call. And what happened happened? Yeah. It's fluky, and that's if you've ever seen these injuries, like Dan Marino suffered in Killys terror. And if you watch the play there was nothing that happened during the plays. Very casual David Beckham Koby you know the achilles win it blows. It it just goes and, and it seems, you know cumulative that it's just. The build up the wear and tear now did favoring his right leg in the calf injury. I I'm not a doctor. And I look, I tell you all the medical issues I've had, and that's the one mclovin goes, have you ever had towards the Phillies? I go. No. That's one of the things I never had. Yeah. But it's you're like a game of operation. We say, like I know everywhere every injured, I have on my how did you deal with that? Back in two thousand eleven. Jimmy in Texas. I Jimmy, what do you have for me? Hey, what thing I noticed last night, and the game, I noticed been every time he went to the bench. He. He what? Thank you, Jimmy Kennedy in Louisville. It Kennedy welcome. Hey, dan. How are you? Good, sir. What do you have? I just want to ask you what your thoughts on potentially the story. A couple of days ago with the worst players who are a little confused on why you know, the status of his injury and just wanted to see if you thought that might have anything to do with coming back a little early and just kind of your thoughts, frontier demand. So. Yeah, and you know, there was a column that was written about this that sort of was looking at the unrest in the locker room. I I'm not sure how to categorize it but or clarified. But the it felt like there was some people in the locker room teammates, who were questioning Kevin Durant. And when he was coming back, I you know, I, I don't know what the temperature is in that locker room. But I'm guessing if you're looking at Kevin Durant, you're seeing that he's working. He didn't get to actually go through practices where you're really testing it. That was that was another thing that was surprising here. Do I think that they said Kevin if we clear you are you ready to play? Do you wanna play? How much can you play? How do you feel like all these simple questions that you would ask and the answers aren't always simple because Kevin could probably say, hey, I can I can play. You know, I can shoot. He was out there dunking. He was dancing in the tunnel before the game. The impression was he's good. He's fine. So I, I don't put blame until somebody tells me, there's reason to put blame on somebody, but I look at this is just culpability of, you know, the, the front office, medical staff in K D. Everybody's involved in this decision. But I'm guessing I'm guessing Kevin Durant had the final say so couple of other things Nick nurse calling that time out when Toronto was on a roll. I didn't understand it. You had. You had momentum. I'll talk about it. You here's the coach Nick nurse talking about taking that time out late in the game. I wanted to know the thought process behind calling the time out when we were making a run while the raptors are making their run those two we took it three minute, Mark. Yeah..

"Kevin or we told him that he couldn't risk further injury or whatever somebody might say, there have been lawsuits down through the years with Dick Button. Casse with the Chicago Bears. Bill, Walton with the Portland trailblazers you know, they were lied to now I'm not accusing that with Golden State's medical staff. I don't know them. I can only tell you what I told you last hour, I was told they are as thorough, as any medical staff as cautious as any medical staff in sports. So I will take that person at their word when they were telling me that on the show. But Kevin Durant is down. Best case scenario. He's not playing in the finals worst case scenario. He's not going to be playing for nine or ten months and players. Don't really come back from this achilles. Kobe had it late in his career. Boogie cousins still trying to prove that he can be a twenty five thirteen kinda guy. I had the micro fracture surgery where they drill holes in your knee, and they tried to get blood flow to see if you can grow cartilage again. Guys never come back from that really really rare. I was just trying to do it to be able to have a normal life. They were getting holes drilled into their knees. And then they were tried to see if there was blood, I had a what's called a disease knee was dead knee, and there was no blood in there and I couldn't grow cartilage in there, but this is a situation with the achilles. You know, our medical technology. We haven't improved anything. It's, it's nine to ten months, probably that he's going to sit down, how that affects free agency. Not quite sure. But if I am the Knicks or the nets, and I get an opportunity and Katie wants to come here. Then I go after absolutely and Golden State. We're gonna find out how much do you love him? Do you want to keep them? You're going to give them a supermax deal if he decides to keep that last year of his contract, you gonna let him just rehab on your dime. And so I'm curious what Golden State does. You know, you know how philanthropic and dubious they going to be with this injury with Kevin Durant. I big Papi who shot in the Dominican Republic has returned to Boston as the Red Sox had their playing doctors fly down, and they got him and brought him back. And he will be recovering in a Boston area hospital blues in the Bruins that will be tomorrow night game, seven dot com or will be on the call will join us coming up tomorrow..

"Our poll question is sponsored by man versus food on cooking channel, mclovin. Okay. Who'd he got the raptors warriors right now sixty six percent raptors. Yeah. I'll still take them because I don't know what to expect out of Golden State when they go back home. They'll get an emotional lift, but you still don't have Durant. And I think Toronto is a better team then you when you don't have Durant. This was in USA today, the writer is Dan Walkin. He's covering the NBA finals and is the headline which the writer doesn't write the headlines. But somebody else writes this opinion. Kevin Durant game five injury is a failure on many levels. Dan, walk in the columns for USA today, says in the end the idea Durant was somehow soft because he couldn't make it back onto the court until Monday was always ridiculous. If Durant could've played he would have been out there in the first four games, his body didn't let him. And if the noise. Somehow played any role in Durant coming back before his body was ready to compete. We all need to own some of that NBA careers on forever and the discourse around injuries, which often includes some romantic tough man idea of the way things used to be needs to change. If the worst happened and he tours achilles. In a way that will rob Durant of one of the prime years of his career. It's a major failure by everyone. Yes. Including the warriors Bob Myers, the front office exact for the warriors said I don't think there's anybody to blame. But I get it this that stuff happens. I hope nobody does place blame. You can say injuries are fluky and to an extent. That's true. But this one didn't seem like it the same leg the same part of the leg after a month of drama and mystery that never seemed to lead anywhere good Durant, hadn't played or done significant basketball activity for a month. It's hard to view dropping him in the middle of the finals at that intensity and speed on a leg that wasn't good enough to play. Seventy two hours earlier as anything other than a risk. He has tried to fight his way back and put his body on the line for those guys. And that franchise. Fred van bleat, the raptors guard said you just hate to see that. We feel for him. It's very unfortunate. It's Dan Wilkin goes on to write. Maybe the long-term outlet outlook for Durant will be okay. The off season is coming plenty of time to rest up. No matter what happens, he'll go into free agency. Get amac's contracts somewhere, even if he has to sit out the start of next season. But when bodies start to break down in the NBA intentionally accelerating, the damage can be a dangerous game. Let's just hope what happened Monday didn't cost. Kevin Durant more than a chance to rescue a title. I didn't understand what Bob Myers was saying when he said, you know, we did everything you're supposed to do. But if you're going to blame somebody blame me here is the Golden State Warriors executive. I don't believe there's anybody to blame. But I understand this world. And if you have to. You can blame me. I run our best ball, operations department and. Tell you something about Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant loves to play basketball, and the people that questioned. Where he wanted to get back to this team were wrong. That's Bob Myers, obviously emotional. And he said, look, they did their due diligence everybody. Did their job. I do have an issue. Somebody's not able to go seventy two hours earlier and all of a sudden they're ready to all of a sudden play the most important game of the season. And no minutes restrictions that I was shocked..
