"AP sports I'm time Miriam. It was a marathon day of sports on Monday, starting with a morning Major League Baseball game, and ending with two late night overtime games in the Stanley Cup playoffs. In between the NBA played two game twos in its opening round series in Philadelphia the 76ers maximized home court advantage defeating the next 96 84 as tyrese maxi led a defense that held the nest for just 35 second half points while scoring 33 himself. We were able to get started time we started when we needed them. Consecutive stops in a row, which led to fast breaks, led to easy buckets. Out west, the kings were beaming again, lighting up the warriors one 14 one O 6 as the air and Fox scored 24 to put Steve Kerr's defending champions in danger of becoming ex champions. We know we have to play better. But we will play better. We're these guys are champions. You saw what they did. It was a good playoff night for kings as the NHL's Los Angeles kings came from behind to stun the oilers four to three in game one on Alex I have follows overtime gold. It took two overtimes for the wild to beat the stars in Ryan Hartman's goal. The bruins said in NHL regular season record for victories and Boston started the postseason with a three one victory over the Panthers. Brad marchand scored what turned out to be the game winner. It's always good to start the first game with a win, but we have an accomplished anything yet. "DP sports, I'm Mike Reeves after battling weather issues on Friday and Saturday. They were able to complete the masters on Sunday. Graham agar's has the story. John Robin has closed out a comfortable four shot victory at the masters to claim his second major title, adding the green jacket to his U.S. open crown became the fourth Spaniard to win at agusta, joining 70 by a sterile Jose Maria Osama and Sergio Garcia. Never thought I was going to cry by winning a golf tournament, but I got very close on that 18th hole. And a lot of it because of what it means to me and to Spanish golf. In the NHL, the Boston Bruins won 5 to three in Philadelphia to set a league record with their 63rd victory. Bruins goaltender, Jeremy swayman. It's hard to win in this league. There's a reason why this record's at 62, because not many teams can get there. So it's a special honor. The play in tournament pairings are set in the NBA in the east 7 seed Miami plays number 8 Atlanta. About number 9 Toronto meets number ten Chicago in the west, the Lakers are the 7th seed and they'll host number 8 Minnesota, LA forward LeBron James for us as good as we don't have to travel. We travel a lot the ladies. It's good that we get to stay here, but that doesn't make us be comfortable. The other Western Conference play in match up will feature number 9 New Orleans against number ten, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, head coach, Willie green knows what to expect from the thunder. You may not get as many shots as the scores are not going to be as higher. And we still have to attack, have tech mentality. On the diamond, the rays defeat Oakland 11 to nothing to improve their record to 9 and O pitcher drew Rasmussen. I think this organization has come to expect big things when it comes to the regular season and moving into the postseason. And so the start we're off to is unbelievable. "So you hope he solves that coil, I give a B minus two. I think a lot of it's probably influenced by that lack of production down the stretch and that contract. And even though him and Taylor hall didn't really fit that well, Coyle was still productive at the start of the year in that top 6 role. I think he had like 14 points in the first 21 games. And give credit to him that after a dreadful 2020 21 season, he did look a lot better in terms of how we need to play. You just wish more of that production follows. I think at this point, you have to just accept what coil is at this point where is he a two C? No, but he could be a very effective three, see if the right pieces are in place, which guy's making 5 two 5 million, probably doesn't make bruins fans happy, but I think that is what he is. And I think in the right role he can still be available piece. This team, but you just have to, I think, put the right pieces around him there. And then like you Samantha, I gave a C minus. Again, for a guy that kind of look at his baseline numbers, right? He had 15 plus goals. Once again, 35 plus points, but a lot of that was also off of a stretch where he had 9 goals and 12 points and 11 games. So the remaining 63 games he played was 24 points, not what you want out of a guy that again, he's not a guy that you're expecting to have 25, 30 goals, but he should be 15, 20, a more consistent guy out there as opposed to kind of being super hot and cold. Especially in that third line where he should have been viewed as kind of the finisher on that group, right? You go to puck possession center and coil a guy that can floor check and Frederick..

"Yeah, clearly, big nuclear guy. I'm going to switch my prediction. And I hate this, because I wanted to stick with hurricanes in 7. I really did. I wanted to, I believed it. Still think it might happen. But I got to go with bruins in 7. I think they will lose games. I think the bruins will lose game 5. I think this is my issue. I try to guess the games. I think that always goes so south, but it's however slow things. Very slippery. I think the Keynes win game 5 bruins win game 6. Odds are going to be very against the bruins game 7. This is going to play out just like the 2011 Cup final. And I think the bruins are going to take it in 7 because all the home ice stuff is going to go out the window and the bruins will edge out a win in game 7. That is my guess. I think now this top line changes things, you know? I think if they had not done that move, I think the series would probably almost be over. I think they would probably be down like three to one. At this moment, but the hurricanes are a dumb team. They're making super penalties and your top line is rolling. So I think the momentum is shifting back to them. I think is also a nice lesson to people that series are not over after two games. And this goes to us a little bit, but we were saying it wasn't over. I said it was close. I said it was as close to being over as possible. But I didn't say it. We didn't say it was fully over. There were a lot of people. You can acknowledge it's not great. I think that's where everything was like, it ain't great right now, but again. It ain't over either. So we'll see. I say bruins in 7 though. I think they're going to I think they're going to do it. And then I think they're going to go on a run because that was my initial prediction. So I'm sticking with that. Conor, what can the people look forward to from you over at Boston sports journal? Yeah. As we do every day, there'll be daily content up regarding the bruins throughout this cup run, so we'll have previews, game recaps, game reports, columns, video breakdowns, a couple features. "Even if he comes back and he's not completely himself, I still think that is better than anything Carolina has ever had. Even better than cam ward, who was like the most overrated goalie of that generation. But I just think that the hurricanes kind of their time. They're going to break through at some point. And I think this is the year they do it given how good they were this year. They're deep up front. Again, there's going to be a hard fought series. I don't think there's going to be any four or 5 games. I don't even think it's going to be 6. I think it's going to be deep, but it's going to go 7. I think the hurricanes win. In 7 games, I don't foresee like bad play by the bruins necessarily. I think it's just a tight series. I don't know if it's not like, you know, oh, you know, your first line didn't show up. All Lena's on Mark was terrible. I think it's just, they edged you out. They got the better of you in 7 games. There's not much you can do. So I know people will be annoyed with that prediction. They will not like that prediction. I will say this though. I think if the bruins get past the hurricanes, they're going on a run. Especially in the metro, like you're faced in the rangers of the penguins, two teams you can beat. I would pick the bruins either of those series unless something drastic changes. And then you got the winner of the Atlantic, which, again, they're going to be beat up by that point. So I think if the bruins can get past the hurricanes, they're going on a run. I don't forese them getting past the hurricanes though. So those are our predictions. Those are sure to get people fired up and get people going. Hey, I can't always pick the bruins and everything that I do. And I've been bad at predictions before. So maybe it's a good thing I picked the hurricane. So I take the brusque 40 gold season and coming. I was close to Jacob. I was off by a few years. That's true. That's true. 20 goals since January 1st, if you've done that in the first half of the year, maybe hits four equals. Who knows? Anyways, Connor, what can people look forward to from you during the playoffs over BSD? Yeah, we're obviously going to have all of our daily coverage throughout this postseason working on our extended preview now, which we'll have out by the end of the weekend. We'll have updates with injuries, matchups, video breakdowns, features, all that good stuff throughout this playoff run. "To hinge on those things. Yeah. I think we talked about it and poke the bear that a guy like lindholm is going to be key for the bruins in terms of breaking the puck out cleanly being effective in transition because that's the easiest way to get the puck moving and avoid playing to Carolina's trends, which is a lot of fumbling with the puck in your own zone and Carolina pouncing on those and generating those chances. So I don't think you have to worry about that with lindholm. I think he's going to help you a great deal, but it's further down the depth chart. They can also fall along with that. I think obviously grizzly has been a great transition player, but Kahlo has to do the same thing. I think when you've seen some of these blow ups or D zone implosions with Kyle this year, it's usually when he's got the puck on his stick and it's that bang bang play and you waste a second all of a sudden you've got just for foss there and need a rider and they're forcing a turnover and a guy is in the slot ready to bury a one timer and all of a sudden you're trailing real quick, right? So I think that's going to be huge he said as a guy like Carlo has to just be, again, not reinventing the wheel, but just make the simple smart play, no lazy clears, make that Chris first pass and get the puck moving because if not, you're going to be wasting a lot of energy and probably be down a goal or two in short order with the way Carolina likes to attack. Yeah, and also four birds another one. I'm curious with him. What kind of shutdown role do they use him in? Again, and he elevates that third pairing defensively. So maybe they get tougher matchups than a normal third pairing would, maybe that leaves up grizzly and Carlo to get maybe easier matchups, but again, I still think you would rather rely on Carlo defensively than for, especially given how much you're paying Carlo compared to Derek forever. So again, four, because it's going to come up big on the penalty kill and maybe late in game on D zone draws with Carlos. So interesting stuff. Again, I think you will see though Mike Riley at some point. Feels like, especially given, as you mentioned, like turning the puck over coming out of your own zone, I think is going to be an important thing. And Mike Riley is a good puck mover. He has a defensive issues, but as a puck movie fairly solid..

Bruins Beat

"Was getting hemmed in forward, you know, weren't committing defensively either. Just complete a lackluster performance. And you look at the way the bruins have played, the only one that maybe you should probably take stock and do out of those games which I think was a three zero loss on the road for the brooms where I think that was just Anderson standing on his head, which I'm sure we'll talk about him in a little bit. But look at those other games, it was the 6th 7 one game that was too harassed, gets pulled. And let's have 5 goals in the first period, okay. That game already got away from you from the stop there for a guy who, again, is not in the picture now who is still fighting through an injury. And then you look at that second game, the other one was 6, 6, nothing where that was even though that was post the lineup reshuffle. You didn't have bergeron, who was injured, and you didn't have Martian, who was suspended. So it makes it a lot tougher for the bruins really execute with this plan that they have of spreading that scoring wealth when you've kind of have to once again put together a jumble together top line. And then it makes things easier for Carolina. You look at how deep they are upfront. It's not just the fact that they have three, four lines that can score with regularity, but it also makes things easier for us to know more of the bruins had, let's say, a legit top line and then maybe a few lesser lines, because then they can just at the stall and need a knee to rise fast line. I think out there. I think they're one of the best defensive forward groups in the league. So how is it going to change this time around when you've got the bergeron marchand Nebraska line with the hollow line with the coil line? It makes things a lot more difficult for Brenda more in terms of those matchups when you have the bruins kind of with their full complement of players once again..

"Fact that this deadline is important for the bruins in terms of putting them over the top, which is multiple guys that they're interested in. It remains to be seen if there are going to be moved, but I think the biggest thing is this gives you a window to continue to set the foundations for what you want this team to be in the next couple of years. If you're able to get one of these guys. Now granted, we could be looking at this in Monday morning and we'll find out that hurdle has signed a 7 year deal because he wants to stay and do middling things out in the Bay Area or nice place. Yeah, worst places to be, I guess. With that Eric Carlson contracts and all that stuff. Oh yeah, or JT Miller is not getting moved, which wouldn't surprise me. Probably not getting moved and I mean, he's also very well could be hurt. Andrew cop got thinking about concussed during his most recent game against the blues shocking. So I mean, he's a guy who could be out of commission. So it could be a situation where the bruins were sitting there like, all right, there's only like two or three prime tag. It's in that point, you've got so many teams trying to buy in that, all right, is the best option at that point. Claude Giroux, who you have to give up, like, a first and a blue chip prospect, just because so many teams are bidding for his services. And again, I think we've talked about it before, like Giroud doesn't exactly fit that long-term goal. Again, I don't think you're going to see bruins fans bemoaning the fact that closure is on their team. Fantastic player, and he could kind of fit that solution where he could be your two C if you need him, or he can be that play on right wing on the top line. You've got a mega line. So yeah, in the lens of just the vacuum of just this year, Giroux would be great. It's just how much do you want to invest in that guy for two, three years down the road, like hurdle. If you pick between him and hurdle, for example, it's pretty clear. But it's going to just come down to, I think, what the market is and what teams are actually committed to selling and what those prices are going to be because I think the bruins are interested in upgrading a ton of areas. Like I said, two C but I still think they could use another defenseman somewhere. I don't know if a guy like lentil is the best option because I think he's going to be pricey and I think he said I'm going to market even though he is a top four guy, but whether it's like Josh Manson or if you want to even do like a cheap value add like Justin Braun is in flashy, he's not going to steal the headlines in the back of the paper, but as a guy that helps you out in that way. So a lot of headlines in the back of the paper. Yeah, I messed it up. Whatever. Why don't we do straightforward? I don't work for the newspaper. It's a digital publication, Evan. But you look at just the multiple ways that avenues that they can improve this team. Plenty different routes they can take to improve hair or there..

That first period was that bad where they left the guy on out on an island. So I really do think that it's been mostly positive. It really is about sort of finding out what has workload can be and how much they can rely on them. Because I think that's going to be a big test down the road, right? Is you want to know what the split is going to be? You want to know who's going to take hold of the gig. I don't think that Omar, I don't think it started on Thursday. It was particularly great. And that was what his first or his second start since rask has been back. So I want to see what that is like. I want to see how these guys work together in tandem. Because I think that the bruins had something good with swimming and all Mark. They were pushing each other to be better..

"And we'll get to in a little bit what you could get for debras skinny max scenario. But just trading him for another struggling winger. I don't know. This is a good amount of this value to brusque. I mean, I was just reading, you know, bleacher report today like a ranking of the trade block for the deadline and to brush was number one. Now, again, that's one person's opinion. That's not like NHL GM's putting that together. But that's something there. You could get something for Jake de brusk absolutely. But I just don't think that for another struggling winger like Yamamoto who does not even have the stats that Deborah did in his best years. I can't sit here and say that I would want that. I wouldn't, I just, you know, I know people like to just get new players. Oh, Yamamoto's new. And it's like, no, no, he's struggling to. Like, the same issues to breast cas, you're gonna get with Yamamoto. So I don't know. I just, there's not a lot of desire to do that. If they did that, it kind of go, oh, okay. Another winger, you gotta decide if you're gonna put them on the third line or maybe he'll slot in on the second line, like for a game and maybe you'll get healthy scratched. They have too many of these guys. You get Nick foligno. You've got, you know, Eric hala, and we'll get to those guys in a bit. And you know, no sec and now, you know, obviously de brusk right now. You got Carson coolman and Oscar Steen and you got all these guys who are fringe line up and top 6 guys that it's like, well, why would you get another? What is the unless unless unless the bruins hockey ops department can sit there and say no, Kyler Yamamoto has a real spot in the top 6 of this team, then I'm not gonna sit here and say, oh, that's a great trade. Because you're getting worse. That's not that's less than lateral in my estimation. Who knows? Yamamoto could become a 40 point guy at 50 point guy and I could sit here and eat crow, but I have a weird feeling that's not gonna be the case. I just, there's not a lot of upside with that. I don't see the huge upside in a dubrow for Yamamoto. And then cleft bomb, I think there's a better left shot defenseman who the bruins could go after who I will get to in a little bit. Pretty safe bet that this player would be a huge hit on the bruins..

"I get why they want to go back to the summer and redo things, but I just think we're too early in the season when they haven't played enough games for me to figure out who they are. And it's been kind of figure something out these next two weeks because they're playing every other night, you know, starting Wednesday for fucking, I mean, the schedule is insanity. And we can get into that. But I just can not, I don't know if it's just me being positive, just me just, you know, I just can not get up to complain about not that we shouldn't have traded Dan LIDAR, like on a Sunday Night in November. You know what I mean? Exactly. Exactly. No, I agree with you. I think the trading vada, I'm not against that. I think, again, there's a third round pick. So like, you got something. You know, you got a legit thing. Also, with the way things work in the bruins world, I can't see your confidently say if LIDAR was playing with swimming. Behind this decor, I can't sit here and say that he would have the same numbers. Right? I think we can agree that I would not. But all three all three zones. They're unbelievable. They're relentless at report. They're a really fucking good team and it's kind of surprising. Like I said earlier, but and that's where the problem is right now. The burns, the burns are beating the teens are supposed to be against the tougher teams that are better than them. They're struggling. And to see the bruins kind of middle of the pack is weird as a bruins fan. I know people always talk about playoffs or if you're in the playoffs by Thanksgiving, usually you're going to make it to the playoffs. If you can't put the percentages. But like the bruins haven't really put enough games for me to be like, all right, I'm confident in the playoffs. But that's a whole nother story, but yeah, I think we're just early in the season and burns fans just love to complain because.

"Akin to white. I don't know, let's say the Florida Panthers were the last few years before they really took the next step where you knew they were like good. They had some fatal flaws, but they were constantly lurking. They were hard to be. And they were in the playoff hunt pretty much wired a wire, but it was a coin flip, whether or not they were going to get in. Now, more often than not those Panthers seems did not get in. But which I would not push comes to shop. I think the bruins are a playoff team. I think that they are probably not a runaway favorite by any stretch. I think they would with the Maple Leafs rebounding and being good now. I would say the bruins are firmly a wild card team. Which is probably a lower expectation than what you would want for them. But from what I've seen so far, there's not a whole lot to that would make me think that they should miss the playoffs, but there's not a whole lot to make me believe that they will hang around with the lightning and the Panthers and the maple leaves. I think that they are a pretty firmly in the wild card and mix at this point. Yeah, I also think when you look at the roster, you know, you look at the goaltending. Is it better or worse than last year? Probably worse to ask is better than both of those guys and it's not to say swam swarms have been good. Omar could have could be better, but he's been fine. But it's because of all Mark. Correct. This is a 100% correct. And that Edmonton game on Thursday. We were both there. We both said, this is not all Mark. This is not like he didn't steal you it, but he wasn't the reason you lost. He was fine. I would say he's been slightly above average this year. Just slightly. Not great, but slightly above average. Maybe that's being a little generous. But anyways, I do think though, they look at the roster goaltending, better the past few years. Defensively. I mean, last year's decor wasn't amazing. You got the addition of Mike Reilly last year who looked a lot better at the end of the year last year than he has so far..

You <Speech_Male> don't, no one <Speech_Male> pays to go on any. <Speech_Male> You don't pay anybody <Speech_Male> to come on your show. <Speech_Male> It's not how that works. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> But <Speech_Male> he did, <Speech_Male> and he got <Speech_Male> killed for it <Speech_Male> on Twitter as he should <Speech_Male> have. And he made his <Speech_Male> speech protected. So <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> can't take the heat. <Speech_Male> It scared the <Speech_Male> bejesus out of me <Speech_Music_Male> at first because <Speech_Male> I was an <Speech_Male> I thought I was like, I've <Speech_Male> never heard of anybody <Speech_Male> that does this, <Speech_Male> but is this something I've <Speech_Male> supposed <Speech_Male> have been duped <Speech_Male> this entire time? <Speech_Male> And like, we don't <Speech_Male> have <Speech_Male> millions of guests on <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> my podcast, <Speech_Male> but <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> we have enough to wear <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> it's like, am I supposed <Speech_Music_Male> to be paying these people? <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> And then I saw <Speech_Male> everybody just <Speech_Telephony_Male> went back and <Speech_Male> lambasting in <Speech_Male> and <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> I was like, okay, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I'm glad to see <Speech_Male> that the group think <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> seems to <Speech_Male> agree that this is ridiculous. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Yeah. Well, there were <Speech_Male> some people who replied <Speech_Male> saying like, you <Speech_Male> know, oh, that makes sense. <Speech_Male> And I'm like, what? <Speech_Male> On what <Speech_Male> planet does that make sense? <Speech_Male> But anyways, <Speech_Male> apparently I <SpeakerChange> owe Connor Ryan <Speech_Male> a lot of money. I <Speech_Male> don't want to <Speech_Male> say, Connor, <SpeakerChange> it's going to <Speech_Male> come and break your kneecaps. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Connor <Speech_Male> could sue me for a <Speech_Male> lot. <Speech_Male> But anyways, <Speech_Male> before we head out <Speech_Male> Logan, <Speech_Male> is there anything you would like to plug? <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> Let the listeners <Speech_Male> in on when your <Speech_Male> podcast drops or <Speech_Male> all those <Speech_Male> things. Yeah, nice <Speech_Male> and bruins podcast. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> And then just go to <Speech_Male> Nestlé dot com, <Speech_Male> training camps this <Speech_Male> week. So all <Speech_Male> sorts of training camp <Speech_Male> content every day <Speech_Male> starting <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> tomorrow where <Speech_Male> the Ness of everyone's podcast <Speech_Male> is back tomorrow. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> So we on the <Speech_Male> lookout for that messenger <Speech_Male> dot com. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> If anyone says <Speech_Male> that all we do is aggregate <Speech_Male> and that means they don't read <Speech_Male> the site. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> that's <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> about it. "Think of would be bounce back here for John Moore. The reason being, yeah, this one generally people don't like when I say that. I am actually a closet and not really a closeted John Moore fan. But here's my thing, the way I rationalize this. Now, I don't know how you quantify a bounce back here for John Moore, right? But he has the shoulder injury is playing. His first year, he was not that bad. If you go back and look at the numbers, he was not exactly an analytic starlin. But I think people will be surprised with how effective he was in 2018 19. So then he plays through his shoulder injury in the postseason. The bruins, right or wrong, decided that in a do or die game 7, they were better with a one arm John more than they were with Connor Clifton. So he gets the surgery. He has no training camp. He comes back last year wasn't great. Ern, what was it? 2019 20 wasn't great for him. And then this past season, what you have to remember is John Moore's greatest asset is his skating ability. He is a fantastic skater. Like any shortcomings he has from a pure skill standpoint, or a shutdown defensive standpoint, he generally works around because he is a very good skater. What is probably the worst entry to have when you're calling card is skating. A degenerate hip, which is more or less what he had. So you can tell last year when he looked exceptionally bad. He for what people say John Moore always is, he actually was during the four games three games he played last year. And it was clear because he was playing on an awful hit. I think with the hit good to go, he'll be a 7th defenseman to be sure. But when the opportunity comes for him to start to play again, I think we will find that John Moore will at least be a useful bottom for defenseman. Is that what you pay almost 3 million for? They're doing it again with Derek forbert, right? But I think that if you take the contract aside, which I know is a challenging thing for people to separate..

"Took the Bruins beat on Ceylon this video. My name is Kevin Barrett office here. If you guys are having a great day, a great week here in New England, hopefully, you are getting through the rain and the crappy weather and you're listening to this podcast instead. Lucky lucky, you lucky what's getting you out of the rain? Maybe you're on the way to work. You're doing something else and you're just going to totally tuned out the weather and for you and the rest of the country, I hope you're enjoying the sun birth rate. Conor Ryan was on this episode and one thing that, that that I kept thinking about during the playoffs was how much tougher the Atlantic division that the birth will be in next year. How much tougher it will be than in Prior years and I couldn't get it out of my head and today seemed like a perfect episode or perfect time to talk about to talk about that bass. I think it's something that you're going to see a lot next year is there's going to be five legit teams two of which were in the Stanley Cup and all and I think five of the top eight teams that are doing The Cup next year are in the Bruins division, including the Bruins by the way. So for others in the division aside from the Bruins are have high odds, the Stanley Cup. So definitely something to think about. So got into Tarasenko talk who's requested a trade with the Bruins? Be a fit, is that a smart move? And then of course it wouldn't be the off season without a little bit of Jack. Eichel talk and he added a big interview last week with a 25 news here in Boston. Where he did say, yeah, I'd love to go back to Boston a little bit. So we get into that and we do discuss the one way in which he can be traded to Boston and the return would not be a pickup truck or a McEvoy. So stay tuned for that before we get into the conversation, which was very good. I do want to First, tell you about my good friends over bet.

"A great way for Bruins not a great week. I know they ended it on our early started next week Sunday. They started to walk on a good note, but not ending particularly. Well, there are a lot of problems. What was the biggest to you? Well, I mean, obviously the the one where you look at just the Optics of it right is the defense, right? I mean you give up 13 goals in two games. I think everyone get concerned about that and I think that's wrong. You see the right flag is you know, you're seeing way too many transition goals created chances in front of Rask and a lot, but the thing is is that that's always a concern. Oh shit. Like when you go that many goals. I'm sure not to spend learning but also, I mean I look at it right where I think we all are in agreement of the rooms and needs more depth on the blue. Looks like we've talked about at home last week. Like that's a guy they need right? So this isn't any surprise and when you missing three starters on your blue line, you know, including two guys in lausanne and Thursdays are good at kind of showing up that net front and girls like ew, you know as much as I think people are now the critics been hurt. I feel like there's like the The Narrative of like, oh they can they they can do well without them, you know, he's an injury-prone. Even though it's really only been kind of this year. We're didn't really really bad. But you know you miss Chris leak in his ability to get the puck out and you know, get the brake outgoing and hit those first passes cuz off these games have been stuck in their own Zone with for checking issues. So but you look at that defense, right you miss those three guys, you have back and iron in a top pairing roll and you know, yes potential. I mean we've seen multiple times we're out of something. He's big enough yet to handle some of these guys and he's been just kind of Knocked around by Chris Kreider which led to a goal. He got knocked around by Andrews Lee and pushed around which led to Chicago gets the island is so I mean you go to depleted decor and you know, you got drawn more playing like the minutes and he did not look very good. The last two games so wage. Obviously, you're shorthanded you hopefully you hope that a shorthand unit doesn't give up 13 goals, but still it's not expected. But you had to know that there was going to be some issues with your going to be giving birth. One more chance has given how the state of your Decor is. Now.

"Monday basically was like, you know if Patrice is Captain if if Patrice is Gavin and I'm like, oh my God and every guy every person wants to say it but I think they're giving this kind of took him to give respect to char and I think that's what their initial thing was so fine. I think it's just funny cuz like I don't think there's any chance as anyone else it wouldn't it be great if it wasn't and were like we're naming David krejci the captain or naming like, you know, Charlie McAvoy the cap not to say they don't deserve it right off like Bergeron's the obvious choice like gotcha hundred Nik Richie is going to be Cactus talk about like a backlash like like Warrior would be burned to the ground. If I if Nick Ritchie became captain of the Bruins, it's good to see the Bruins fans are already in midseason form cuz I did I think probably you were in the same boat. We did something as harmless on Monday as simply Tweed like wage Richie coil Smith and my God, you would think that I like had insulted like South Shore on Twitter because I was just bombarded with with with with salty rhetoric thrown back at me on Twitter for it. So it seems like Bruins fans are already at least most of them have the jury's already been dead. Decided in terms of what Richie's going to give this team, but we'll see I went so far as to say Richie looked good with yeah. I mean, I think it's a nice one. I said they one one so, I mean we yeah, we'll eat crow if we know we revisit this in a week when trying to games like almost over considering this how quick the preseason really is for the Bruins. But yeah, I mean Richie you also have to factor in I think one thing that I'm sure to do for you is that Craig Smith looked pretty damn good. I mean the shot is what you know, everyone knows when he's proven, you know, sniper a guy who gets a whole bunch of pucks on net but also like I was kind of surprised at how you know good his skating was like seemed like he was really good on, you know, a couple of those drills There Was You Know finishing a lot of the passes coil sending to him, but I think when you have a guy like coil who's a puck-possession guy, but he also have this guy who can operate in Rome. Face like Smith. I didn't get also maybe opens up a guy like Richie a little bit more space to you know, go down low or a throw his weight around. And again, I think that's kind of be the biggest thing for him. It's just a committing to that role because I think people were excited to see what Brett Ritchie was going to do last year early on but for a big of a guy is he is he was kind of like there was some you'd watch any video but like at the half-wall like all right, man.
