That we couldn't bring in talent shows been skin feel that it was fair to the talent with his future unknown to bring somebody in and ask somebody to sign a contract with this man. He had no he was what was going to happen. And so we were handcuffed and handicap considerable. Because your boss gotta real careful what we do here. We can't upset the parent teachers. Maybe could figure bigger way out of it. You know if they would have me defend one belt and the first hour the second belt third hour. I 'cause i was way to do. His dad he pops up and all of a sudden turns in and it was just magic but The taker man mark was able to just make that character though become that cherif or he believes in which made everyone else believe in it wasn't doubting well you know what's funny i mean i i i think and i've got. I wrestled them In the ninety s and then of course i wrestled them our wrestlemainia and a couple of other times in the two thousand two thousand four five whatever it was actually thousand to actually was eighteen was to. That's right. yeah that was thousand. That was in toronto right arab match really. Got me back up and running in terms myself confidence. But i thought that the march work that he got better You know up until a couple of years ago. He just continued to get better every year. Yeah it wasn't understanding of character just that you know you have to he. He didn't have a every day of working with the rock. And austin and guys that can really going. I mean he was stuck in the situation that we've all been at times but i mean if you look at my i mean he wasn't diving over the top rope twenty years ago and do it like you like the stuff he does shawn and hundred and he did with. I can't get it with brock. But it's over the top running across the ring. Six nine two hundred eighty pounds or six ten years. Don't see that from a guy and he's bouncing around like raymond stereo walking there oprah's nothing and that's just a small part of what makes him so great and of course then the timing the issue of timing with that in when.

"Jobs but good. Lord you're in the middle of this shit store and your tweeden abacha doll like well. How about you're in the middle of not being able to pay your talent on a regular basis in your checks or late. Two three four five six weeks late and you're honeymooning or getting remarried in ireland with your entire family tweeting out pictures of staying in scottish castles every night did that too. And i'm back in the states. Having to weather the storm taking calls from guys going. What the faulk. Thank you summed up. It sits a very little self awareness and actually realize what the hell is going on in the real world any other. Funnier interesting stories. You can share with us about dixie. Carter let me get by. Because i don't know we'll talk about her and well you know I don't i. I think we've i think we've covered. I think we we hit. We hit the point on. Tna man i think we it turned into next week. "And this was authorilex dealer and and he was given it to me at cost and i had to battle with us all this one online and it was cheaper. Then get the one online if you like that one better than get that one. I've got this one brand new has got warranties got papers got brand new boxes all brand new. It's it's what it is. It is at cost due to a lifelong friendship with with my buddy and Using a a lifelong relationship you have to the company solid and then probably wound up looking like an asshole correctomundo You know. I'm watching her. Nobody listening here's what model rolex did you guys give him. I don't even remember it was a it was a stainless steel where he playing wasn't mariner. Oh no it was just Probably is yes okay. Well let's let's watch super nice gesture. I just felt like giving her angle used rolex. It's like a fucking Dixie carter or here. This is what we're gonna finish on. I found it interesting that I don't know what you want to talk about what this lawsuit or don't wanna talk about this lawsuit but in the middle of the world coming down crashing around or in october with the lawsuit from american express and then from the production company and then the state tax lien and everybody just kind of jumping in there now. Multiple lawsuits the same week and then thinks seemingly coming to ahead with billy corgan and then of course we all know the billy corgan lawsuit. There's just lots of back and forth and craziness. Are we going to be able to make the next pay per view or we. Our next set of tapings is the show cancelled. All around. Dixie in the middle of all this since auto tweet about her action figure and i was blown away about this and since you a screen shot like look this yet because the timing of it just seemed ridiculous to me and you said hey if you only knew and i even saw a response from eric bischoff trader said. All of you only knew i know. Bischoff has lawsuit with cnn. So we're not going to talk about that but it makes me think. Hey this is worth talking about It's the dixie. Carter action figure and on october twenty first right in the middle of the shit storm she tweets out. Hashtag flashback friday to in my action. Figure i came out. It went personalized at shop. Tna now and one of the very first responses was To me that said is this a hashtag rib It's not a rib. You were there when this action figure. I came out. I want you to kind of talk about the funny story that we don't know about this action. Figure that bischoff alluded to and then i want you to just assess what the fuck is going through her. Mind to be to lack the level of self awareness. Where in the middle of your entire company you know being in doubt and in question all the talents wondering to have a job. I don't have a job all these livelihoods are on the line. And you're pushing your fucking action figure on twitter at all up though doesn't it. I mean doesn't that explain a lot. I've only met her in passing. I met her at a ufc in the afc. I read nashville. She was there she was super nice inhospitable once the initial again. Same thing very pleasant. Everybody says that though. She's a nice lady. She's a sweet lady this seems like narcissism that would even make vince mcmahon blush on your fucking companies going out of business. And you're you're tweeting about your goddamn x. Figure little scary when that action figure. I came out. She had spots that she wanted on. Tv where's dixie. You take a picture of of the dixie. Carter action figure wherever it is and it would be plugged on twitter and on absolutely silly about it was absolutely ridiculous but We we did a retreat about this time. The word dixie campaign was going on and we lo and behold somebody from nashville so it could not have been meet. Had a dixie carter figure and while we were in cave creek. We went ahead and shot several Several several wears dixie locations with the dixie action figure and after a few beers thirty or ninety. We started sending those pictures back to dixie. And she wasn't all that happy. But we had dixie right. They're drinking with us. We had we had the beer bottle. And right there at The ottawa cafe and cape pre-care zona. One group the single greatest biker bar. You'll ever experience if you ever go to cave creek goto the hideaway cafe. Greg blazed but So yeah we had dixie all over cape creek. And she didn't seem to find the humor in it. So what read in. What did you guys have. The dixie doll doing in cave creek might have done little pole. Dancing might have had some bearman. Handsome pizza Pouring sugar out to align no. We didn't do that. That would be crass dance on a poll much classier well thought so but yeah it was. It was just silly stuff like that. But you you're right and it's but again that just kind of sums up why they're in the shape they're in tell me of another instance you can think of this to me is just. I know i've talked about it. You know.

"In. That was all it was one guy in a pay per view that we had out in phoenix and as we got closer to cannon became the question of what the hell are we gonna do. What what is the hall of fame induction. They were selling tickets to an event to a hall of fame inducting sting but god forbid i asked the question. Okay what is that said curiosity. What what is this. We are selling tickets to and the answer is well. It'll be a nice presentation and dinner and we'll inducting into the hall of fame okay. What exactly does that entail. And the only thing that had been thought out at that point was essentially that we would all get together and give staying watch. And everybody's happy people are gonna pay to eat dinner and have Dried chicken from the marriott. And watch dixie gibbs thing watch so try to get together with folks and tried to come up with some kind of a presentation and try to do something special for staying who is deserving of a hall of fame whether it be tna or wwe or wcw. Whatever he is a hall of famer is career is worthy of that so is trying to lay out a presentation. Who's going to induct him. Who who can we have from his past. Who can we have from his career. And then we have hulk hulk and that's good but since you only have one guy what is your show to the audience that is paying money to come and sit down and see this thing. So we wanted to have more people involved other than hulk in dixie sugata. Aj of all and then the suggestion was made. What about lex luger. Because lex luger was an integral part of stings history. They were good friends and thought it would be nice to have lex there. And she was fine with that but where it became. Tricky was when i said well much. Can we pay lex. And she was little dumbfounded at the suggestion that we might have to pay him anything which. I was a little dumbfounded that she was dumbfounded. Because i'm sitting there thinking here's a guy who's sitting home not doing anything. I don't know that he was hard but he was. Maybe a native money could use the money. And i didn't insult him and say. Hey you wanna come out and eat some really shitty chicken at the marriott name ducky buddy into the hall of fame. we'll pay. We'll pay your airline ticket. But you're going to have to room with bob ryder You know. I just didn't feel that was the way to approach this thing Finally got him a payday and we agreed to pay him something but the interesting thing had a little show pay him something which implies she wound up paying him you had kinda beat her up about to get him a little more. Yes and so we were trying to lay this whole thing out number. I'm talking in generalities about we've got all the talent there and she's like the the question comes back to me before i don't want to catch off again i'm sorry to this lurid and ask for any money. I wanna clarify that. No he didn't. I didn't want to go to him and ask him to do this offering him more. Want somebody to hear this and think oh and was negotiating for more money. That's not absolutely not wanted to go and convince pays guys five grand to do the deal. I don't think that that's super cafe number. If you participate in the hall of fame you're going to check five grand. Thanks for playing I assume that the tna chac was a fraction of that. Whatever you guys gave luger but even getting that to that point was a struggle with dixie. Okay got i didn't want to cut you off. I just didn't want the board to say all lugar negotiated more money. Not sure and so going forward. I'm trying to lay out stuff. And the subject of talent comes up. And someone. And i don't even remember who ask so you asked me i. I really don't remember who asked but they said well do we take the we deduct from the talents pay for the hall of fame banquet. How should we do that. Oh my god the dinner the shady chicken and the sweet tea. Yes you know thinking to myself you've got the this. This is a rib. Well no because it's like twenty four dollars or twenty eight dollars ahead and you want talent to be there and eat for free so it was It was an uphill battle. And finally i went through the craziness of asking talent to show up if you'd like to go to the hall of fame which they should want to go to the hall of fame inducts thing be. They're not gonna ask you pay thirty dollars for shitty chicken and unsweetened and once we get through that and come up with a decision that hey we'll make it an added. A deal will sit the talent with fans in the audience and we'll have a talent per table but dixies come back to that was just ask which talent wanna come and we'll just use the that wanna be there. Some of them probably won't wanna come. Which was insulting to me and insulting to staying. And that's me saying it was insulting staying. Not him saying it I just thought it was shitty. But that's how they did it so laying out this little production and guess who is the only person that shows up on time actually early to go over the show that day ahead of the ceremony. Staying.

"In a meeting. And i said. Would you like for me to put feeders out and see if wwe would be interested in purchasing the company probably two thousand twelve and dixies comment back to me was well. Maybe we might wanna buy wwe. And that was the end of that conversation. I never brought up again So when you're saying they were always looking for investors. What you really mean is they. Were looking for suckers would give them their money to keep funding this fucking wet dream of a company that wasn't actually profitable but not willing to overturn any sort of management. That could actually turn it around and make a profit. Ding ding ding The rumors innuendo are that They got all the way down. Almost check riding time on the toby. Keith deal but he wanted new management and then if eleventh-hour dixie or her representatives say she has to stay in place as president and remaining on air character and that ultimately was the dealbreaker. Is that the same rumor window. You heard it is okay. The lockdown pay per views in eleven and twelve or all cage matches a lot of hardcore wrestling. vance think. Assist the fucking dumbest thing ever. You're supposed to based on my. We've all as fans tall. You build to a cage match and you you have a match that needs a cage You don't have a card or a pay per view but needs cage matches or however that analogy goes. I'm not feeling well. I'm not myself. I catch me up. What did you think as long as an old timer as you said referred to yourself in wrestling for two entire cards. Be filled with cates. Mattis it for all the reasons you just said cage match should be special and should be build in. there should be meaning behind it in one. You know you should build the see it if you have entire car for the cage matches after the second one. There's nothing left to do some special anymore. I thought it was stupid as ideas and finally we got him to.

"Why why do you wanna look at an old fart like me. And she felt it was real. Eric made a push for talk me into it and i decided okay. I'll do it and so it was may flare and also we. I knew what the other two judges were going to vote. And i would essentially determine the order. Let jeremy barash now the order to ask which judge it what time and then i would usually i. I would have the deciding. Vote how. I wanted to play out whether it was me doing it. Or one of them. with alex silva came and the vote was no but right before the third and final. Vote We gave you guys an opportunity to cut a promo to possibly swayed. The last judge's decision will flare had already voted player voted. No he was the first one. Al snow voted. Yes so i'm the deciding vote. Alex silva cuts promo flare. Grabs the microphones. As i change my mind i vote. Yes and the kids in he's hired and we're on live. Tv and it was crazy because the kid didn't have a visa good work in the states. We'd had him on temporary. You know one or two off deal appearances to be able to do the gut check thing. But he didn't have a visa now. We had to start working on visa. Didn't work out. He wasn't that good and never should have got the contract in the first place but gut check was simply a vehicle to get new talent exposed. Bring some new fresh talent in in a different way to introduce them and the thing. Most people talk about contest that number two. Which is when joey ryan in may of two thousand twelve. I had a match with austin aries. They take to vote and this time task has replaced ric flair. It's a no from bruce. Prichard ask for mouse snow and it's a no from tasr What happened from there was a work. What was the shoot and wins it. Become a worksheet if it did. That's one of those deals where that end. Okay thank you where we knew what we're going to do and i said no alison. Yes funny how that worked because we really usually did disagree it was time for. Joey cut his promo. Joey cut a great bromo on me and on task tass being the pro that he is he's stuck to the script he didn't go off script and he said no but tasr was pissed because the kid cut hell of a personal promo on me and on task. Well is this is taking place and we get out of the ring going to go back. And they've got a cameron Enjoy face and i tell them. Listen this something. Oh my god. This guy's great ascend. Al snow in to go in there. Grab him and throw him out. Make sure that the camera you know still on. Nobody knows i mean everybody. Everybody assumes it's work but then it turned into shoot but it truly was a shoe and joey shot himself into a work. I guess you could say. But joey was working as well. I mean he was just cutting promos it himself over which i told him to do so. Al gets joey outside. I said bring him over to my trailer. We met in between the trailers. And eric comes running over said man. That was great. Encourage joey to Continue his tirade us. Amanda once you leave here. But i want you to get on youtube and want to get on twitter and i want you to lambast the shit out of us. We don't know what the hell were doing. Chicken shit operation blah blah blah and we signed in we had a contract drawn up for him right then senator in the next couple of days and told tasr. Hey here's the deal task. Thought we worked in which we hadn't it was just joey's promo and it was a great one and i said young joe. He's going to do this and he's going to cut promos on us and talk about what pieces of shit. We are and want to build this thing up. Joey got personal tax. Got personal than we realize that. Well we've kind of worked ourselves into a corner because there's no payoff. Task task can't russell. He's got a neck issue and physically. He couldn't get back in the ring so we had to switch it to gun. Put the heat on l. snow and that was the story of joey ryan but that that was one of those situations we were live. It worked out. Joey cut hell of a promo instead of hiring right there. We throw them the hell out and made a story out of it to bring him back. And i i enjoy. Joey's work at that time christian york towards the end of this idea. Get an opportunity in november of twenty twelve from north carolina circuit. Friends with the hardee's and shannon moore and shane helms and all that what do you think. He didn't get a bigger opportunity. There that christian just was kind of reminiscent of that old southern rattler on man say and it just kind of was a was a tired. Gimmick tired look and there wasn't a whole lot special about christian. I thought his work was good. I liked the hell out of him. But the audience didn't really seem to care winded. Sam shaw start doing the Rip off was that after you were going. Yeah that was after. I was gone but about west briscoe He did.

Here mr mcmahon. He wrote summer slam. He wrote roll rumble. Then he went to wcw and he wrote there. He wrote nitro thunder and now he's in nashville and of course down there. He's had an opportunity to write for pop tv and destination. America and spock tv. And we know it's it's where they're doing that teenager show now where the hardy boys are. Delete never give me a coffee. Yes sir how do you lock your coffee. Why got like my women and what paid for. Thank you mr mcmahon. So where does this hate for. Bill banks come from data. Say hey sorry bill. But you're horrible. So he was. I think he was the associate editor. Which means that he uses like make copies and shit like that and for rousseau that's basically what he was he was kind of like a writers assistant to russo. I've met bill a couple times as always cool to me i don't. I don't know bill in an this negative way do but He's been there according to his lengthy in since april. Two thousand three and He says he's done everything. They are from being a producer to handling the website and the social media. Facebook twitter youtube all that stuff And also lowering redwood a glowing recommendation. That is and look at their shit. Know the only the one of the only times. I've ever seen. Dixie carter get pissed and i mean pissed and go off on. Someone was at bill banks in a in a meeting. I also we can tell the story Goddamn i'm trying to forget. I'm trying to remember who the hell the girl was. it was. It was one of the knockouts and bill was making fun of the way she looked. And dixie just and he was doing it all under his breath making who you know snide remarks and laughing to himself and just being a little bit in. Dixie went off on him. Let's say just stop with your with your remarks. You don't have a clue and i'm sick of your smart ass comments and you don't contribute anything positively to any of these meetings. All you do is knock everybody that type of shit. Wow yeah in for dixie. That was not did it. Sounds like maybe the only i mean. That might be the only store i've ever heard about. Dixie yeah i. it's a one of ones. I really remember her going off on someone and she did it in public me. She did a big meeting. Well i I did not expect that with our buildings conversation today from from my first from my first day on the job it was. Can we get someone to overhaul the website until the very last day they'll laugh was you know god. We need someone to do the website everyone they brought in and talk to. Of course i guess. They didn't like because they had ideas. I don't know or they wanted to be paid one of damn senate ugly. Let's move along. Let's talk about something else that got moved along and that was the gut check. We somehow missed this on our first teen show and this was really really really popular with our twitter fans. I don't know how he missed. It both still covered three hours and managed to miss it gut check had a couple of different incarnations. But it really got off the ground when you were there And you guys turned it into a television segment and it's famous for in the very first one Alex silva was the contestant had a match against robbie e and then i threw it to vote with bruce prichard al snow and rick flair and supposedly. The rumors would lead you to believe that everybody knew what the answer is. We're going to be like you know these guys say yes and got say no but flair goes off script and changes his mind and says yes. It changes the whole outcome of the thing so the guy wasn't getting a contract but now because flare just went into business for himself now he is signed and he doesn't even have a work visa to work here. What's true what's false and what really happened. Well as far as gut check it was simply an idea to be able to expose some new talent and we were doing gut check on the road where we get guys and and people that wanted to audition for spot on the roster to come to the shows and workout with the agents and work out with some of the talent. We were looking for new segments for television show spike. Wanna something new dixie. wanna something new. We want something. New and american idol was hot and we thought well. What if we actually had live auditions on the show and we had people Guys come out. They rustle match. And then the next week we would critique that match and we would talk amongst ourselves we have three different judges that would then decide whether or not this guy will get a contract. Originally the three judges we're going to be ric flair earl hefner and i think also They had them talking over the match. I in an insert and it just didn't work we scrapped the idea. It didn't work and then ever make air. No it did not. it was taped. We taped it to try it out and do a dry run. See if there was something. There dixie. Really wanted me to be on air. I didn't want to be on air bush on air. I'm not comfortable being myself on. I know that's crazy. You're the show. Something russell bruce richard But i'm much more comfortable being a character like being a character plus. I didn't want to take up. Tv time we had talent that needed to be on tv needed that time..

"Heard the rumors before. I i've definitely heard rumors before addressed it with bob when i first started there. What does that number sound like. The conversation sounds like hey man. I've heard these rumors about you. I've heard that You will sometimes ask is for favors for a push. You're not in a position to push anybody. He was the travel man and he wasn't inner a creative position to book and or push anybody anyway and he said he denied the rumors. He said that wasn't the case. I have to take his word. And i never found that to be an issue when i was there. So from my vantage point with bob aid was straight up and i didn't have any problem with in in regard to any not even anything close like that while i was there. What what do you think causes bob ryder to have a negative reputation online because it seems like there's a lot of a lot of folks who dislike him. Who haven't evan probably ever met him. Well sure i mean. There's a lot of people that hate me. That have never met me and okay. I know go ahead. You're gonna say well bro. Come on you know But it's the same thing is because of the position he was in he. He was in a position of perceived power right now. I guess he's in a position of power. I don't really know but a lot of times it's easy to pick on a guy you know you and i've talked about this before where when I'm gonna use your analogy. I'm gonna steal your shit now like when baghdad. Everything's the statue of saddam. Hussein is coming out in the background. bob ryder standing out in front. Saying nothing to see here folks. All that has been the position that bob writer has unfortunately befell with tna standing for his company. Just as you and i would His official title. I believe is director of talent bookings and travel. I don't know that for sure but he certainly has more power than just being a travel. Now But i wanted to hear that from you because there's a lot of people who believe that. The dude sleazeball But you have different story. You're of the mindset. That knows a pretty good pretty good hard-working dude. Yeah okay let's Let's talk about who i consider to be. Mr t. name self. Mr jeremy barasch Barasch has always been a guy who's People are cold on on barasch. What was your experience with. Barasch what did you hear before you got there. And what did you find what she were. Actually there on. Jeremy ashville stooge. Jeremy barasch was you know jeff jarrett's right hand guy and you know went and told everything that went on no matter what it was and and i'd heard not great things about jeremy barasch for i actually ever met him upon meeting him and having the opportunity to work with jeremy barasch. I found him to be an invaluable person for tna the hardest working man in that company. He did everything. He was an announcer. He did Helped out on the internet stop. He ran camera he produced. He just did if there was something that needed to be done. No questions asked. Jeremy morass should do it and do it well and it took a little while to to get to realize all of that because i thought well what the hell jeremy boris joan that and i realized that bore did it because no one else was doing it and it needed to be done. Jeremy also produced a lot of stuff on his own he would go out and make things happen in a hardworking guy proud to call him a friend and he's one of those people that will succeed no matter where he is no matter what he does because he's a hardworking guy. They think if the will ever runs off and tna. He would have an opportunity to work. With jeremy i think it's sad that the hasn't had that opportunity yet because he would be a hell of an asset to the wwe and at the same time he's such a self starter and he's such a go getter did they might wanna put the reins on them a little bit and i think that would stifle him someone. He's working with robert irvine. He's doing stuff with howard stern. He's always out there creating something for himself so i think he's doing all right where he is doing what he's doing. I wasn't suggesting that needs to leave. I just know he's a hard working dude and he loves the wrestling business. And if this thing ever go sideways. One day i'd like to think that he Well he he definitely would be an asset without a doubt all right. Let's talk about another guy who used to be an asset for tna. Mike today. I wanted to know from your perspective while mike today is no longer in. Tna what your experience was like working with him. And while we haven't seen him with wwe seems like a natural thing he was part of wcw and then tna and he's been around forever and now he's not involved with the major wrestling promotion and that seems a little weird to me. So what did you think of working with mike today. And why don't you think we're seeing much these days today a lot Personally and professionally. And i think today was a talented guy. Standup guy responsible. The i can't tell you why he's not there anymore. I just assumed that they wanted a younger different. Look and feel other than my but not to utilize my in a producer's role or a creative role. I think is kind of a miscarriage. Because he's great. Theories is one of those guys with great attention to detail Very well informed and responsible. It's it's like one of the good guys. Today's one of the good guys.

"Main high but true okay cruel but fair This is going to be the third time we have taped tna partake. We did the first one when it was fresh. I still think we're probably should've kept that one. But through some arm-wrestling. I lost that bet. And now we're doing it for the third time so that we're doing. We've done this this many times. Because we're a little scattered Because there's so many little loose ends so we're gonna try to play the hits and we're gonna hit the high spots it's going to be a little bit of a word association and we're just gonna hit on some of the hot topics and let's get into hot one right now. Lots of rumors. Innuendo we tease. We were gotta talk about it I got lots and lots of direct messages and text messages and private messages about this. Nobody wants to talk about it in public But on the message boards mayhem. It's there let's talk about sex bait be in tna and there's lots of rumors and innuendo kind of want a rapid fire some of this and just have you kinda set the record straight to be clear everything. I'm about to say as rumors. Innuendo i was there. I don't have any firsthand knowledge of anything. I'm not saying anything happened. I am simply espousing rumors. And innuendo to bruce so he can shit on it or verify it. We've done this forever. But i feel like when we're gonna talk about sex people get a little more sensitive so here we go Bob ryder is a name that has been floated around. Not have sex with bob ryder. Okay next name. Barbara has lots of rumors and innuendo. That would link bob rider with certain talent and some adult activities in the early days of tna whether it was the naturals or Chris harris or abyss or the young bucks. There's a variety of names that are linked there and i'm not saying anything happened at all. And then all of this is a complete and total bs but haters gonna hate rumors. Going to grow. Rumors are going to be rumors. What what did you see. What did you witness. What did you have firsthand knowledge of. What can you confirm it or not. Well i'll tell you what witness. And what i have firsthand knowledge Is that bob. Ryder worked tirelessly busted his ass for the company and did a great job at what he did. And you know. I heard the same rumors but when you look at it is the total picture and all will stayed in bob's room people room people able to share hotel rooms folks. It's a cost cutting measure and when guys are on the road and maybe they don't have the money to be buying a hotel room. they double up. You know mick foley. Those guys slept three four five to a room to save money over the years. And bob ryder. I always found about rider to be nothing but professional bus disase and was always very good to me so i never witnessed anything any of the stuff that you said. So premiere world view. This is all just rumors from my for my views on strictly rumors. Yes i had no idea. There's truth that you'd have to ask the other people involved in that when i just mentioned that to you. Was that the first time you've heard that before. No i've.

"A very special black friday addition of the show here and a lot of podcasts styles or taking the week off and they've got something in the can the main. We're typing something brand new. Despite what all the rumors. Innuendo our shows not in the can. I'm sick and we're still power and through roll tide man was vader the man they call vader. That was our topic last week. I got a lot of great feedback on this when bruce. What are people saying you about it. It's crazy because i just got a lot of positive feedback for the most part. I think that is due to the simple fact that the host of this show does research. That would rival. Well i can't say rand mcnally because that's the matt people isn't it encyclopedia britannica there. There's one for the books now. We have wikipedia and the internet back in the day. We had the encyclopedia britannica. But conrad does his homework and is extremely thorough and for the most part. That was a compliments that i got on it. And i'm very appreciative of that. And we we love it. We listened to all of it. And if there's any loose ends we leave. We try to address them. But i really didn't get any. I did have a couple of lucienne. I miss somehow. Unable to apologize. Vader came back in two thousand five very briefly for taboo tuesday. Two thousand five. Jonathan coachman was supposed to square off against stone. Cold steve austin and in his corner he put gold. Dust invader kind of have his back. That wasn't the best showing for vader. But he was there and then. I'm sure we'll talk about this. Another point austin gets wind that the creative would have coachman going over and suddenly. He's unavailable for that show So he becomes unavailable. Batista steps in batista has a match with coachman vader's involved and that's it for his swansong He did briefly do Appearance where he was taking on With the other. Deputy legends heath slater a few years ago but nothing really of substance. The only other thing that we missed buzz scott hall and this was something came up on a message board. A scott hall had asked about going japan when he was trying to renegotiate his wwf. Deal to try to see if those away he can make more money. He approached and sunset. Hey you know. What can i do for like incomes plateaued. Is there an opportunity for me to do something else and been assured in the no he was doing everything right and he countered with half. I'm doing everything right. How can i make more money. Various explanations back and forth and one of the things that he asked for. If you believe the rumors window was the scott wanted to work in japan and thought. Hey if i could get some time off here. That would free me up to go have some dates in japan and offset the income. The he felt lucky should be making but he was turned down that request. And the reason this topical now and here is that what happened in late. Ninety five or early ninety six at the exact same time that vader was working out a deal with the wwe that would include some trips to japan. So what say you bruce. You're there kind of walk us through. What the fundamental difference between estimator and no scott hall would be well because they were asking for two different things and scott hall was looking to be able to go to japan. And do you know three to five week. Tour is a couple of times a year and vader was looking to be able to go over and work with our approval. And when i say our approval we also were approving the opponents that was going to be in the ring with and they weren't going to be long weeklong to three week long tours. They were one offs and we had to approve. Everything scott was looking. Go over there and do Tour i and that was something that we wouldn't be able to approve his opponents every single night of the tour and the chance of him getting hurt at some point and not being able to perform for us on the backside with something that you didn't want to do but being able to approve. The opponents for vader indoor send a match did japan. It was a different situation. American stars have been rumored over the years to of made ten to twenty sometimes even an excess of that thousand dollars per week on those japanese tours. Does that number hold water with you. Top guys did without a doubt okay. before we move on anything you want to have like. I listened to mention the vader. Taboo tuesday thing any specific memories about reaching out to vegas and two thousand five for that. Was it always planning to be a one off was it. Let's see what he looks like and see what we can do from here and he showed up heavier any recollections as to why that didn't do more no it was strictly as one off. It was just kind of a special appearance a one time thing. special attraction type deal so there was no plans to use him beyond that and sometimes those things are you bring people in for a one off and they blow you away in a good way we may go back and say Let's bring him back and do something with them. Obviously that didn't happen with bater that time this is a housekeeping a complete show and nothing but housekeeping from our most downloaded show of all time. It really was our most downloaded show of all time and man we play. The hits antena was a hit for us. So we're going to go back to What brought us to the dan so to speak and i'm excited. I i don't know the funky says he did tell him that would just come up with shit off top of his head in so we did the vanilla shit and then it kind of grew from there but john did his own wraps but it was that moment in the hallway. That vince heard him and went. Holy shit. this guy was talented and god. Paul heyman hated heyman hated. Everybody did they. Thought you're gonna kill 'em with rapper. Gimmick there's no white rappers so he'll he'll it'll be great. Just let him bust on everybody though. That's how wrapped gimmick was born. Jr has said that he didn't really understand this. Gimmick and even vince mcmahon himself a white kid out of westbury into hip-hop. That's a little different but as friends and family said that's really him and once this happens he's kind of transformed his look instead of this white meat. Baby face where the local team colors Now he's a white kid acting like hip hop guy so he's got flat. Bill hats that are backwards in a chain around the stack and Is wearing the jean. Shorts has got the old school reebok pumps that he would make a spectacle of pumping out during the match. And at the time. This was a really big deal. He was wearing the mitchell and ness throwback jerseys and that became a big part of his character What do you remember about his idea. Or someone's idea of wearing the throwback jerseys that was all john's idea to get you know to get he he would go in and whoever the local market that we were any would pick their biggest rival and have jerseys to come out. Antagonize the crowd so that that was that was all john and it was john who wrote wrote his own stuff and he would work with writer sometimes to get around different things and make sure they were palatable for television but the the look the feel all that stuff that was seen talking about the halloween episode again somewhere. I read that you guys presented him with two options. You can either come as joe. You can either cameras eminem or vanilla ice and picked. But now i do you remember there. Being a conversation that he would have tried to portray like eminem like an eight mile time character instead. No i think because it was no idea. I always remember ceiling. rapper. I was gonna nail high. He's quite frankly so. I love that the white know. But i'm indigo. You said no. He didn't write them down. he would just spit them. I don't know why. But bruce prichard saying he would just spit them as outstanding tie or she has you. That's not something people do anymore. Gray okay let's move along one rap song. I love you for that low yati. I even noticed. They don't know what's going on. Hey i saw your. I'm sorry folks sidebar. Here i saw lil yadi on the jimmy fallon show the other day wrap all of the simpson characters and i was so excited because i go. I know him. I know that one. I know that one that one has cover has college. Buddies would say that john cena was a freestyle and even back in college And he would do battle raps with guys and even Like perform his raps and college bars. And i guess that kind of makes sense considering. You know his responded gimmick that he would do in promos from vw does not. Yeah it was simply. He had such confidence when he was wrapping. It was almost like he would kind of throw shoulders back and be comfortable and had an extra swagger that when he was wrapping man he he was in his own element. Credit karma has always been there to help you make better financial decisions and now they wanna help you. Even more credit karma money spent account. You.

Covert Nerd Podcast
nerdy things we have in common
"Hello time. and welcome to the covert podcast. Today we'll be talking about focusing on the things we have in common then wrestling podcast. I know you will love. Lastly, we'll take a look at a comic book that takes a dark twist on the biblical flood. So let's get started. From two thousand ten to twenty thirteen. I went to San Diego Comecon for those who no, I is the biggest con in America and maybe even in the world, I'm not exactly sure. However, it has an incredible amount of people that attend over one hundred and twenty five thousand people come to the con- and the all have the same passion for all things nerdy for one person. It might be the passion for superman for another. It might be an obsession with the twilight movies. Many of these people would sit for days in line to tend to panel for their favorite TV show or movie. The camaraderie was thick, and that's the case with most cons. We all have a commonality about what we nerd out about. Do I agree with all of them on social issues like abortion, no. Do I agree with them on political issues like Republican versus democrat? No, I agree with them on getting together and earning out about the lake. Marvel story arc, yeah, for some of them I do. So instead of name calling and insulting each other about the things we disagree on, why not focus on what we do agree on, find common ground and invest time in that, and you might be shocked at the other things you will find you do agree on. This allows both parties to listen to each other before the walls come up because now we're comfortable with each other on the things we have in common, and we like to nerd out about in today's era of polarization we seem to spend more time focusing on things we disagree on might just be one little thing instead of the things we have in common so much so that we won't even spend holidays like thanksgiving together because of those things we disagree about over at not your pastors podcast. They were talking about Christians being divisive about their political views so much so that members witness OSI it with with each other. Now you would think out of all the people Christians could unite regardless of political views. I'm sure I interact with many people who don't have the same worldview as I do not just at cons. I'm sure you do too. It doesn't matter because as long as we try to stay focused on the one or two things we have in common, whether it's fishing or baseball, or coin collecting football or podcasting, whatever it is focused on those things and spend time together doing those things that you have in common and the things you disagree on. Won't matter as much. Talk about the things you have in common. Tell stories about the things you have in common expound on what you have in common and nerd it up. Make your commonalities bigger than your differences. All the sudden you're differences. Don't seem so big compared to the size of the things that you have in common the impact you can have on other people. When you have a common focus can be huge. Use the nerdy things you like to unite instead of divide each other. For example. Maybe as a kid, you collected masters of the universe figures. Talk about that. Talk about the figures you had. Maybe the other person likes the same figures you had when you were a kid, maybe they had some of the same excess review did like castle gray scholar, snake mountain, or maybe they did different things to modify their figures that you might think are cool or maybe you did the modifications, whatever it is, talk about those things and tell about when I got this figure for Christmas, I was so excited or I got this figure at a clearance sale at stores and picked it up for only two dollars. Talk about those stories together. You'd be surprised at how well you can mash in connect with the person when you have that commonality so that when the differences come up, maybe it won't be so divisive because you'll be focusing on some of the things that you have in common with that person. Now, on a similar note, I read recently about people using dungeons and dragons to help kids with autism and social anxiety. People living with autism spectrum disorder, experienced challenges with communication. So social action, and sometimes they display restrictive and re repetitive behavior. Organizations like game to grow us tabletop role playing games to help teens, adolescence and emerging adults become more confident, creative and socially capable. The inherent benefits of tabletop role playing games are numerous and become even more beneficial. If intentionally facilitated by professional the games, encourage communication and team building in the fun safe environment. Now, Dr. Raphael Baca moslo I probably mispronounced the name. So I'm sorry in advance. The clinical director of take this uses DVD to help teens who are struggling to daft solid social skills. They learned those tough to teach aspects of socializing, like procreate communication, forming friendships, empathy, and other social nuances. As you can see unity in something like tabletop gaming, like dean D. Is being used to help those people in difficult places. In this situation, it helps others relax open up about what they're struggling with in the process. They inadvertently learn new skills on clued links to the game to grow organization and the take this group in the show notes. So please go to covert ner dot net to find out exactly what they're doing. You can see some of the pictures read about some of the gaming setups that they have and maybe participate in what they're doing in your local community. I found that and thought it was something that I needed to share because it's something taking something nerdy something we have in common and using it to help others. Now it's time to do some podcast recommending if you like wrestling in the eighties and nineties, like I did, you'll love the podcast something to wrestle with Bruce Prichard. It's hosted by Bruce pressured, also known as brother love in the WWF back in the late eighties, early nineties and superfan Conrad Thompson. As I mentioned, I was a big WWF fan from about eighty seven to ninety three. It's great podcasts because you can revisit those old storylines if that's the timeframe you liked. Now, I should preface Bruce Richard was involved from, I believe, eighty seven. So after wrestlemainia three and was off and on with WWF until I think two thousand three or two thousand four. So he covers a pretty big, broad span, broad span of time. Not just the time I'm talking about. So if you watched wrestling from the late eighties to early two, thousands, he has some firsthand accounts of what was going on. On behind the scenes and he's a fantastic storyteller. His impersonations of Vince McMahon are priceless. That's almost worth listening to the podcast alone to hear him to his impersonation of inst- McMahon, the popularity of this podcast skyrocketed so much. They have hundreds of thousands of downloads per episode. I highly recommend it for any race wrestling fan. They highlight wrestlers. They highlight some of the paper views the highlight some frames, so it's great. Just go check it out. They have a big archive that you can go back to. Sometimes they'll just fire up an old survivor series from say, nineteen Ninety-seven just watch it together and you can hear their commentary as they're watching the event. Lots of Riecke simply search in your podcast app for something to wrestle and you will find it and I'll put a link in the show. No, so you can find it easier as well. I wanted to mention a comic book that just read literally a few days ago called dark arc. It's by aftershocks comics. It is an excellent. Book and I'll just read the solicit here and you can hear exactly what it's about. The wickedness of mankind has moved the creator to destroy the world by way of the flood. Noah has been tasked with building an art to save his family in the animals of the world, but this is not. Noah story for darker powers have commanded the source or SRI to build his own arc and save the unnatural creatures of the world such as bam, Pires dragons, Nagara and the Mana core. But what will happen on a vessel crawling with monsters where insidious intrigue and horrific violence are the rule of law from the writer Colin Bunn who did X men blue deadpool envenom in artist, one DOE American monster world reader comes a sinister tale of biblical proportions that had to be told at aftershocks comics. Like I said, I've read issues one through five, five is what they're up to as of this recording. And I think the concept is fantastic. The storytelling is compelling, the artist. Great. Callin does a good job of keeping the story moving along at a good pace. However, he threw. Goes out a few bread crumbs of possible ways. He might take the story in later issues just enough to keep you reading and wondering what is going to happen happen next at issue five, the rain stops. Now I assume this would be a limited series run at first thinking about it. When I mean is you're probably not going to see this, go to issue three hundred, four hundred like some other titles do I could be wrong. They could go ahead and take the story after the land or excuse me after the water subsides and they can get back out on land and maybe show the interaction with the unnatural creatures with the humans on this new world that they came upon after the flood. I don't know, but I think it's definitely worth the time for you to pick this one up and check it out on clued. Lincoln the show notes to where you can read more about it and look at some of the art.
