"The Las Vegas golden knights took a commanding three games to none lead in the Western Conference final with a four zero win over the Dallas stars. Our Instagram or Instagram Instagram prompt was what you got this week. So money isn't asking a question. He just replied. He said, I got 44 on the front 34 on the box. That's what he got. Muddy's good too, he loves to play. And he's got his dog, sir pops with him everywhere they go too. Yeah. Does he take them on the cart? Is he on the golf course? Oh, I think he probably will. He's probably, I think muddy's got a little one of those carriers in all. They can go anywhere. He does. Yeah. Okay, let's wrap up ask green drinks anything with a more serious hockey question. This one comes from at dragon's quest, Jamie weins. Who's asking a Florida question, a couple of questions. Do we think that bobrowski will be traded? And who will be the new bench boss in Florida? And man, it just feels weird that we even have to talk about it, given the fact that Andrew Burnett takes over under triumph, trying to circumstances with Joel kenville pushed aside or stepping aside. All he does is coach the crap out of the Florida Panthers, right? They win the president's trophy. He's a finalist for the Jack Adams. And the Florida Panthers now are interviewing for the next head coach of the Florida Panthers. I mean, it's a bizarre situation. It is. At some point, directness is probably the best tact. Yeah. And so if you're, hey, we really like what you did, but we might like somebody better. At some point, pretty quickly here, you've got to have some clarity because if they decide, which is their choice that brunette's not going to be back and of course I'm biased. My buddy, but they've got to tell them. So he can make a decision on his future. Whatever that might be. And that's really how that coaching scouting world works as you tell somebody in advance at the end of their contract. So they can start putting a little shovel in the ground to get on to the next job. So whether, I mean, next coach, you may, you know, you may have a gut feel on that more than others. Is it brunette? Is it somebody else? But they've got to clear that up somewhere. I think they believe Spencer knights there. Yeah. You know, it's their goalie of the future. But that's a $10 million cap hit. Yeah. "And he was like, all right, let's do this. Yeah, it's an odd number for sure, but it was lucky. Maybe it'll be a lot more 36s as we go. Yeah, it'll be kicking himself that he didn't bet more, right? I mean, obviously put a hundred down. It turns into a nice number. It's always the remorse, right? He could have been on the Orioles to score over 9 and a half runs yesterday at an on godly number two against the Jays, but yeah, it always is I should have bet more. But hey, you got to be happy with the wins. And now he's got a nice little bankroll for whatever else he wants to be. Good amount of money. Wagered and the warriors win the NBA? Yeah, I mean, there's always with that team. There's always action. They certainly weren't favorites. They were kind of also coming into the playoffs, especially well, even if rewind it to the early part of the season. It's like, well, the warriors, they got some old veterans that had success, but where's their depth? Where's this, where's that? And they certainly weren't near the upper Echelon many people thought, I don't think in the Western Conference, and then they just grind it out, grind it out, got it done. And yeah, so, you know, there's always money bet on the warriors and some people got some pretty good odds I was looking at it today. There were some ten, 12, 20 to ones during the year, I think, at different varieties of tickets that cash. So yeah, there's definitely money to be had. And being here in Toronto, I think there's a lot of people happy just that the Celtics didn't win, even if it was the warriors. All right, we'll let you go this Canadian Grand Prix this weekend. Absolutely crazy. I mean, as we all know, over the last two, three years with the Netflix series, especially that F one has had this amazing growth. And a lot of us grew up watching F one on Sunday mornings on TSN, but now it's certainly very, very mainstream. And of course, you can bet a whole lot. You can bet who's going to win the qualifying, head to head, finishing the race, and all that stuff. And it's going down in Montreal. Hardest ticket to get in town, we looked at going over and would have had to mortgage the house again just to end the doors. So yeah, it's a hot ticket in Montreal and I'm jealous I'm not there this weekend, but yeah, you can bet whatever you like and we'll take a lot of action. I know you guys have both been in Montreal. Let's just hope there's no road construction on the track. Of course not. I mean, anywhere downtown. That city is going to get that whole paved and sorted out by 2049. The concrete guys, it's all concrete in Montreal. Oh, yeah. All right, well, there's a ton going on this weekend. Obviously, Chris, so the books will be happy. We'll check back and episode 39. Sounds good, Drake. Thanks so much, guys. It's one of those things we say the summers are slow time for sports betting, but look at all these things and we didn't even touch on it all. So another great weekend at the book. Ask green drinks anything raised presented by.

"Abbott from cool bet. Dot CO and man, there's a lot of stuff going on going into the weekend here, Chris, but let's start with the obvious, and that is the Stanley Cup final. I think for the most part, you've been pretty strong on the Tampa Bay lightning from a betting perspective, but are you less confident after game one? Well, I mean, I got to say, I felt pretty good about them going into the final and yes, it is only one game. And they've not had great game once throughout. But yeah, I think after they lost game one to the leafs, you know, I was happy to put more money down after they lost to the rangers a couple of games. I was quite happy to put money down. Ray, you were there. I'm interested to get your perspective because from what I saw, that was like a work of art for the most part by the avalanche of the speed and the skill and I was just so impressed and that's going to be real challenge if they play like that every night. Well, from the betting perspective, Chris, what I would say is I'd be worried that it's a typical Tampa game one game. I don't think there's any coach in the league that makes adjustments better in game and in theories than John Cooper. I don't think Tampa will look the same in game two as they did in game one. But Nate McKinnon wasn't very good. I mean, by his standard. He was just kind of like, okay. At Colorado was really good. They were all over them. I don't know what the hell happened to Val and the juice can. Three years ago, he had zero goals and zero penalty minutes in a season. Like, how does that even do? You think you'd get a tripping penalty somewhere, just stand in there. Anyway, he was fantastic, and the only thing that would pause me on Colorado is their goaltending is average at best, like just average. And you're not getting too on vasilevsky like that again..

"I mean, we didn't even get a chance to talk to him about, you know, he's there hours and Kelly mccrumb and makes a deal, right? He trades out did not offer Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Shea Weber's contract. But from a coaching perspective, just to wrap things up there, I think that you'd be pleased about that. Not about that deal specifically, but looking at how aggressive the golden knights have been in fine tuning and making big transactions in an effort to try and win the Stanley Cup. Bruce Cassidy isn't going to have to worry about whether or not he's got a conservative general manager or a group that's willing to plug the holes needed to contend for the cup. That's going to happen, right? 100%, but I would say Drake's, I would well, I would say this. I don't know. I've never been in a coach's interview. But I would want an evolution for my tenure of stability. Like one of the things I think in that pursuit of like, they always are big game hunting in Vegas. Sometimes I think they should hunt less. Start to build stability with that roster. And maybe they will. Like maybe that's where they're at at the point that they're at now. Because if you're always trying for the next best thing, you don't develop anything that you have. I'll tell you, I know Boston said at their press conference. They felt they left stuff on the table in their ear. I don't. Yeah. I think they're roster played as well as they could for as long as they could. They got to beat Bobby's team. And Marsha and obviously not the player he was. He has double hip surgery. Yeah. Charlie mcavoy, he's got shoulder surgery. He's like, bergeron's not sure if he's playing. I think Bruce will do a really good job because the roster will stabilize itself. Stone will be back. Icon will play a full season for tarantulas not going to have to play 30 minutes a night, like there's more than.

"But a super good person, right? I would say the one thing that I think he's I even thought this year, like, you know, we argued on air early about because he was cool. And to him, he doesn't know Trevor zebras. If he got to know him, as he was coaching him and realized that degress wants to win as badly as John does, it's just different. Don't be fine. Yeah. He's looking at it from and he always says, look, I'm not in that room. His connection to the players has to always evolve. Because there is a bluntness with John. And the younger players sometimes don't like that as much. And that to me is from interaction perspective. That's the biggest challenge. John's a good person. I wouldn't want to be asking him a question every day, but he's a good person. Okay, let's zip through headlines here and obviously we have to talk about the Stanley Cup finals. We brace for game two. And this would be a theme throughout the podcast episode 38, but what a start for Colorado. And I mean that specifically. Not just because they won the game, they wanted an overtime. But what a start. I mean, maybe they're top end guys that didn't have his best, but they came out buzz and didn't they? And in the first period, great from puck drop. Well, camp has been, you know, they've been through Toronto. They've been through Florida. They've been through the rangers. None of them play to the pace that Colorado plays out. That first ten minutes, there's a lot of factors in it. You know, it's the first ten minutes of the final, even though they've been there before. They're a little bit on their heels because they're on the road anyway. The four check, like when I talk about fast and pace, it's not just racing up and down the ice. Watch their four check, like on them to choose can goal? Yeah. He was on the puck in the corner. It went around the boards. My car pinches way down the boards. There's no room. He gives it to McKenna. What the hell's McKinnon doing out there? Well, he'd come back over top to support. He gives the pocket gives it to Matt and the two skin it's in the net. And it's like, bang, bang, bang. Four seconds from the corners to the like, it's awesome to watch. Couple that with the two shaky goals that vasilevsky does not give up. Like that rant and in shot that goes through him. Yeah. That puck never gets through him. And then of course, land is gone punches it in. I screwed that call up. I thought it was rant and shot that went in. I screwed it up. Anyway, well, and basilevsky screwed the shot up. We'll call it even. Exactly. So I think the real challenge for Tampa is going to be every puck decision they make has to be faster than every pocket decision they've made through the playoffs they share. That to me is the biggest adjustment from game one to game two for them because Colorado is fast and they're big. You know what was awesome in game one? Darren helm. Really good. Physical, right? I don't know how he can play like this, but he had ten hits about three shots. Hard on the floor check..

"On LTI money, which of course nobody really wants to do. No, because you have over just, right? And your recall gets more costly from a cap space perspective. I mean, the truth is, for anyone who wants to really dive into this, just go on a cap friendly, right? They do a masterful job of detailing and explaining all of that. So anyway, you know, it shows, I don't know if desperation is the right word of the Vegas golden knights. But some creativity. So they didn't need the sweetener because they'll utilize the LTIR. And most importantly, they knocked it on off 5 million off their cap. So now McRib can go out and do whatever he needs to do. I'm laughing because this is the third time they've traded him. Yeah. And this is the first time he's going to leave. So it is creative, yes, but I think the first words part of it too. Because it is desperate. They did not have a choice. And I still think they are great jammed up against the number anyway. For sure. So it's been a busy week in Vegas. You know, husband. Again, we've got Bruce Cassidy, the new head coach of the Vegas golden knights on the podcast today. One more thought on Montreal. I mean, the draft is looming here. Have you seen enough of Shane Wright to this point? Or Cooley? I mean, go down the list. That if you were Ken Hughes, if you were management of the Montreal Canadiens, you'd be going, okay, first pick, we know what direction that we'd like to go, because I'm telling you. And I believe them. Motorola is saying they haven't decided yet who they're taking first overall. They haven't decided. Okay, I've seen more Flipkart than of the other guys. I'm talking about in a live setting. So right by all accounts is stable and sturdy and will be an NHL player for a long time with a limited upside offensively. Okay. That's my understanding. Cooley is a burner. He is fast. He's not very big. He's really confident. He's creative, so there is the hope of bigger numbers there. So if he's a different because he's a giant and he's got really good hands and like I'm looking at the Stanley Cup final the other day. Do you know how many really small players are there? None. Yeah, not many. I mean, there are, but they're like, okay, so you're going to create offense against Tampa. Hedman, ruta. They're big dudes. Where's the little? And then you go to Colorado and you can say, well, they're not very big. You know, especially with Sam Gerard there, but kale mccar is a magician. It doesn't matter how big he is. The von tapes is a sturdy guy. Bull biram's got good size. And then you've got the johnsons. They're big. So I'm less that smaller player to me is exceptional. I would have some reservation on it. And I'm talking about him being like, I don't know if there's enough between Cooley and Wright. Oh, I'm going to take Cooley over top. Right. Yeah. So Lakota keeps the guy that I would worry about because I really, if I'm New Jersey, I'm sitting there and I'm hoping that somebody else goes first. They already have enough small forwards. He looks like a Jersey player to me. I'm telling you, man, I saw a picture of him the other day. And your description is right on point..

Presented by her title sponsored Canadian club whisky. We've got Bruce Cassidy, the newly minted head coach of the Vegas golden knights he get it, newly minted, lots of betting happening. Do you think of that? Yeah, I did. Somebody heard a tiny, tiny rate that for you. Now, tiny's down and out today. I don't know what's going on. I'm a bit concerned. She didn't eat her breakfast. She's got some sore hips, I think. For a big dog is a problem. So she's kind of laying low. How are you, by the way? You can go ahead. You can tell the story, Drake. You can go ahead. What's that? About you being late? Oh, yeah. That's all I'm doing. No, that's fine. I mean, you record the Rand rig's podcast as most do unless you're going live in increments, right? And that's just the way we function, because we're busy guys, you're busy, you're in Denver. So we've had Chris Abbott from coolbet dot CO. He was waiting patiently normally to record our weekly interview and no ray Ferraro. No, no ray, nori. Tax ray, no response. So I better call right. And you were clearly working on. So we cut you full slack. Nobody was slanging you behind your back as we were waiting. Well, how would I know? Well, because I trust you guys. Yeah, I'd be honest. But in fairness, you've been in the east. You've been in the Pacific region, you know, now you're, what does it mountain times? I never get this time going right. I never, ever, ever get it right. Anyway, for that reason, you're slight tardiness will be forgiven. Thank you. But I'm back. Game one in the books. Day off yesterday played golf, did you? Yeah. And gee, you can hit it far in Denver. Because of the altitude. Yeah, not because I got a better swing here. Yeah, yeah. It just goes farther. Who'd you play with? Brian Boucher, Dave Jackson, Sean McDonough and Mark Messi was there who did not play very well. He's like, not his best date. You know, you might, you might know messes a little competitive. Kevin Stadler as well. So oh, wow. Okay. And so it hits the ball like, you know, he's trying to come back. He's on the corn ferry tour. He had some hand issues and in the past, but oh my gosh, he had a couple of drives that were like, he could probably give us another 30 yards to move up to fairway. So let's revisit masks and then we got to get in the headlines. But how does his frustration is competitiveness manifest on all of this? It doesn't. It's just really calm, but you can be like, you can tell he kind of hits this little fade. Most of the time. Yesterday, that was not there. Oh. So the ball is in the wrong place all the time. And we've all had that on a day. And we got rental clubs and halfway through the round. He's like, this is a regular shaft. You can imagine. Mess is a little stronger than most. "But it seems like a good fit. It doesn't fit. I'm just saying Bruce Cassie also says he's a big fan of Cher. So get a residency show there. It works out perfectly, honestly. I mean, it's a very big departure from metro boss and to Vegas, but when you look at the resources that he has out there, the way that rosters built perfect fit for hand, meanwhile, the bruins, we'll see. Not great. Not great. Yeah, when Cassidy went to Vegas, you know, as we are as everyone knows, this is a pro Boston. Excuse me, pro bar rescue podcasts. So hopefully with John taffer out there. Maybe he gets Bruce Cassidy to do some recon for him. He goes on a few shows. He would be perfect for that. And with the food being like, oh, this sucks, but he'd be really nice about it, you know? And he'd hold the people accountable. Crazy. Yeah, maybe Bruce Cassidy's second career, maybe secondary source of income will be bar rescue. So maybe they'll have him fill in on there because taffer's a huge nights fans. Maybe it's a match made in heaven or match me in Vegas. So an interesting thing is the brew has gotten a lot of hate for this. And it doesn't seem to be stopping. It hasn't stopped. It's been over a week of this. And Sweeney mentioned in his press conference when this happened that he expected people to not like this decision. He compared it to Claude Julien, but Claude Julien was so much different. In the sense that that had kind of run its course. That was ten years that was, you know, they had not made the playoffs the previous two years, there were, you know, good younger players that maybe weren't playing as much as they would have liked to have had them play. All that stuff. Obviously this had happened after the 2015 draft. So the jury wasn't fully the truth. It was still kind of out on that a little bit if memory serves. So this is different. You fire a really good coach in the middle of a really good run. And again, there's rumblings that there were guys in the locker room who didn't like him and such, but I keep looking back at that and going like, why can't you hold a player accountable? If you got, you know, I don't mean to just throw names, but if you get a younger player out there, you know, you got a young prospect who just does not like Cassie, why would you choose the prospect over the couch? I just still can't wrap my brain around that. Yeah, especially when it's, I mean, who knows exactly who it is, but it's not like the bruins have like a pasta knock, like an 18 year old guy who maybe scored 25 goals and the second year is really struggling as confidence is winning..

"Episode 100. Hannah, we lasted 100 episodes. How bananas is that? We've run through the full gamut of emotions haven't we Evan. We've gone from the team being cup contenders. So now I think these last week or so two weeks has been quite dreary. So we've gone through the full roller coaster motions with this podcast. But again, thank you to all the listeners who have been listening all along the way. Thank you, Evan, for being a very dependable partner here with this venture we've charted forth since 2020. So again, happy to be here, Evan. Yes, thank you to you, Connor. Thank you to the listeners you make this all possible. You make it fun. You know, it's enjoyable for us. We love talking to you every week. So happy to do it. You're right. Talk about just a swing of emotions. We started this and I think it was fall 2020. Yeah, and the bubble. In the bubble, so they were, you know, they were supposed to maybe win a cup and then the next year they were maybe supposed to contend in this year. So interesting stuff all around. One thing I did not expect to have happen in the hundred episodes was Bruce Cassidy to be fired. And now he's a golden knight. He's a Vegas golden knight. Which is not surprising. At all. I remember you had said that to me back when Camila made those comments. You're like, if he gets fired, he's going to go to Vegas. And I was like, yeah, actually, that kind of makes a lot of sense. And it does. And it looks pretty good in the gold and silver and it looks like he's having a fun time out there. I think he's a pretty damn good fit. Yeah, no, you look at just the optics of this, the fact that they fire Bruce Cassidy, the bruins zoo, and they're still interviewing candidates..

"Is it the best one two punch down the middle you could have? Probably not, considering creature is 36 coming off a year in hockey that is not as good as the NHL. And Patrice bergeron, by the way, is going to be 37 next year. Again, I still expect you to be good. I'm not saying that. What I'm saying is that gets him in the playoffs. That probably does, right? It doesn't fix your problems. And I'm not justifying any of this. I'm saying this is what their thought process is probably is. And that's what it is. It gets playoff tickets. They get people in the building in May, probably not June, 'cause I don't see that roster doing that. And they think they need a new coach to get them over the hump. I also think, you know, it keeps getting thrown around that maybe bergeron and the higher up guys didn't like Cassidy. Which I don't think, again, we're just speculating. This is not like I've not heard anything aside from the same stuff that other people are hearing. And putting on Twitter, you know, maybe guys didn't like Cassidy and that's why they fired him. But again, why wouldn't you just go on a totally new direction? Why do this? By the way, they have not signed creature yet. Over here is not come back yet. So we're kind of just speaking hypotheticals, but that's what it feels like they're doing. And it's, again, it's just, I think it's infuriating for people because so the band comes back together and what, they're out in the first or second round again. Right. And you're not leading towards at least a long-term plan to getting back there. You're still stuck. And it's one thing of let's say this was, let's reverse it to last off season and the bruins. All right. You're in the same way. You don't know what you're getting with bergeron and krejci. But you have the leeway to really retool this roster that all right. New voice, rec talk it, anyone like that, whatever, right? But you have Berger on back creatures back and you've got 2020 plus million in cap space. You've got a lot of room to really augment this roster. What are you doing if bergeron and criteria back? As you said, they're probably going to come back on affordable deals if that's if that's the line of thinking we're going with here, which is very, very tangible scenario. That's well and good. The band's back together. Whoo, you get the people the shirts out front of the garden will have plenty more like they'll be like the goalie hug, it'll be just bergeron and kraji. It'd be great to sell it very well. Or seen in Avengers Endgame where they all come back. Yeah, exactly. It would be great. That being said, what else do you surrounding this team with? You still have a bunch of contracts with dead weight. You don't really have, you know, are you placing all your bets on a guy like lysell, being a savior on the scene, which is really dumb. And again, you're still looking at even though we've talked about it before that with these injuries, I'm sure the bruins could go on a second half run or they can at least become a respectful respectable team that could push for a wildcat spot. Bergeron and crazy are not coming back to a team that's primed for a contention run, right? They're coming back to a flawed and injured roster that Cassidy spun gold and made chicken chicken salad out of chicken shit with for years. He's not there now..

"But I do, like, I'm looking at the 2023 free agents. By the way, this is subject to change because guys will sign extensions. And the popular thing always is when you're in one off season to say the next drop season is so much better. Next off season, that's the one. But I'm just looking earlier at 2023. And some of the notable centers, Ryan O'Reilly will be a free agent. Then again, I don't know what he's a little older. I don't know if that's like, that's not like a long-term fix, but it is someone that, I don't know, maybe you go after. Nathan McKinnon will not be on the free agent market and I think by then, but he is a free agent currently that off season. Dylan Larkin, Bo horvat, JT Miller is another. It's really the only notable ones that I think are worth saying. Jonathan tabes, you want tapes there, they fixed it. But I do think that, again, you look at, you look at next off season is potentially one that you can make those kind of moves with money coming off the books. And I do think you probably have to you'd like to resign David poster Mark. That would probably be probably be a good thing unless you, unless you really go like full on rebuild. And by the way, before we get to the quick hits, some of the actual bruins player news that we've got in the past couple days, you know, one thing would create cheap, you know, Sweeney mentioned how posh knocks basically going to be recruiting creature back. I think Craig is good for one more year, but I do think you do have to try to find actual long-term fixes within the next year. If you could find a way to get creature to come back for next season, perfect. Great. But after next season, I'm not sure that's like a viable option. Yeah. Maybe the same as bergeron coming back. We're again, I think at the very least it gives you a chance to be in the mix, which again. You throw shit to the wall when you get into the playoffs and who knows what happens. They got one last great run in them. That's good. And at the very least, that gives you again more time to either develop prospects. If you have bergeron creature back, you also don't have to give up a blue chip prosper to get a guy like scheifele or Dubois or anything like that. So you retain your talent, younger players come up the system, you save more commitments so that way when a lot of it gets cleared off the books next year, you can spend however you want to spend it. So yeah, at the very least, it's kind of the best of both worlds. If both those guys come back in terms of you at least have one more run where you can have the gang back together and it gives you just more time to maybe not delay the inevitable. It gives you more time to reassess what the next step is because certainly those decisions have to be made. You just keep delaying the inevitable. It's like Wiley, it's like wile E coyote when he runs off the cliff. And he keeps on running out in a straight line. He doesn't realize until he looks down that he falls. That's what the brooms are doing. Just run straight off, keep on chugging across until they get to like 2024 and see what happens. Yes..

"So, again, some of it also falls on what personnel you have in place and what prospects you identified and brought up there because again, who knows maybe Sidney turns the corner, but I look at that as a prime example of the guy on TikTok that goes like, it's like, what do you expect in there? What do you expect? You're so young, Connor. With us kids. Terrific. But it's true. Yeah, exactly. But I consider him kind of a lost cause. Do you expect him to, after three years of us hearing that he, this is the year for him, do you expect in 2022, 23 that he's going to be a top 6 center? They might need him. They might be like entire need of him to be, but he's not actually a top 6 center. Like that ship has sailed. And again, like his value, by the way, if you wanted to trade him also has plummeted. And we talked about this for the last two trade deadlines where like, that's a guy who you should have traded maybe two or three years ago when you were pumping him up to be the next bergeron, but he isn't actually the next version. He's not even close. So again, I think it comes down to and that's another thing. That's personnel. Like these younger guys who Cassidy is at a short leash with, haven't exactly been terrific. So again, that's personnel. That's personnel. Speaking of young guys, one thing that Neely was asked about on Thursday was about a rebuild. You know, would you opt for a rebuild? He did not sound too pleased to do it. He doesn't sound like he really wants to, but he did kind of allude to the fact that teams that go for championship every year kind of catches up to you at some point and you do have to have an eye for the future. But again, I think he even mentioned this as well. They have good younger players on this team. You know, whether it be mcavoy, swayman, you know, even past or not. You have.

"Starts where the game starts. I'm taking your Boston accent to you. I'm gonna have it now. To be mine, I'll just use it. It's like a little, it's like The Little Mermaid. You can switch voices. Here's there was actually a quote that came from cannulae today that I haven't seen anybody tweet about yet. Maybe I just haven't seen it, which, again, I don't spend all my day on Twitter. People think I do. I spend a little bit, but not all of it. So maybe I missed this. But nearly was asked about young players being afraid to make mistakes. And he gave a really interesting answer. He said, there's no question players are afraid to make mistakes, especially younger players because you know you hear about it. And that was one of those players that I had to learn and grow. I heard about it too. And I made mistakes as a younger player, but you can't worry about not getting back out there. I think that's one of the things we have to kind of change. I think when younger players make mistakes, they're worried they're not going to play the next game while that game is still going on. That is a very subtle, not so subtle shot at Bruce Cassidy. And that's why I think that if they were to move on from Cassidy, I think if bergeron does not come back, they understand that they're going to have to put younger players in positions that maybe they aren't fully ready for. You know, in the sense that maybe Johnny beecher is a top 9 center next year when maybe he should use another year in the AHL or Fabian lysell as in a higher role than maybe his development would put him on track for. And let's face it, Cassidy's been pretty quick to pull the plug on younger players in the past. I don't think that that's like a secret around here. Because again, he's played for, he's coached a team that is trying to win a cup consistently. So, you know, he sends his message to younger players like that. I would not be surprised if that was a reason that they let Cassidy go. In the sense that they felt that that was a bigger issue than systematic changes in the offense. Because again, you can teach that, but can you really, I think they might look at it like can you look at gasoline and say, hey, can you be easier on younger players? Can you put, you know, mercury off in the lineup after he made a huge mistake in the last game or something like that. And again, I also kind of look at that and go, I don't know if that's enough to switch a coach, but it is, again, you mentioned hard truths. And then it kind of goes back to, you know, should neilly and Sweeney be making those decisions with the team transitioning forward like this. It's a tough call. Right. And it's also one of those ones where you can also very much look back and merit that as well if you're from a management perspective, right? And again, does Cassidy have a short leash with young players? Yeah, of course. And then there are plenty of times where I'm sure some brewing strains would like to see more of a guy, younger player..

"And it's funny you mentioned the trade deadline. I think that's an interesting one because again, imagine if hampus lindholm was not did not have the upside that he has. And you went out and just got a defenseman signed into this long-term deal and it's like, we were lame duck GM. That's like, you know, blowing the place up before you leave. It's like the Joker walking away from the hospital. And he's like pressing the button. You know, it's like sign Nick Richie long-term, boom, boom, like blowing the place up. But you know, you even, you hinted at it at the end there. Like, do you want this crew to be the one to lead this team forward? And I think it's a valid question. It's a really valid question. And you know, again, I don't swing you mentioned on Wednesday, you know, we mentioned bergeron only comes around so often. And you know, it's so hard to find a guy like that and all that stuff. But you've had years to prepare for life after bergeron. Like, this is not something first one didn't just turn 37 and, you know, oh, we want to retire now. This has been the same with Chara. Like we've said, you know, this team took way too long and did not have a plan in place to replace the Dano Chara. And inventory crew. And it's kind of happened in the same with krejci. And it's happening the same with bergeron if you eat decides to go. And that leads me to the point of this entire off season, I think revolves around one thing, and it is is bergeron coming back. Because the bergeron comes back, as we've said, you can find ways to do some quick fixes and you bring the crew back, you try it one more time, right? You get everybody healthy. You hope the season goes well. I imagine Bruce Cassidy is still your coach, right? And bergeron basically runs that room anyway. But bergeron retires and you're in a whole new place. Will the Boston Bruins Ever Fix Their Power Play?

"Those practices that burns will have, I imagine a large portion, it's going to be devoted to fixing that power play, just because it's been stuck in a rough way for a long time, I think since April 8th, the Bruins have six total power-play goals and four of them have come from Craig Smith. And and another one is kind of stupid crazy. I mean, you can make the case. You like just from the I test that the second unit has looked a lot better than the first for a long, long time now. So they have to do something to to get that first pulp a unit rolling. Whether it's worth switching a Personnel or Bruce Cassidy is always identified troubles with entries as being a thing that's really going to hurt that top power-play unit over the last month. So I think they've got to really kind of fix that and not make it be you know I don't think you want you expect you to jump from where it is right now to all Cynthia not top three unit again right. I don't think you're going to have that whether it's just like it's not the cards at guys on exit game. I'm gonna Torey Krug. Yeah, yeah, exactly. I don't think either you're going into it. Expecting them to cash in on, you know, thirty percent of their chances, but you're still need more than the output. You're getting off. Because I think you know, right now the Bruins is, the deadline are outscoring teams at even-strength 37 to 15, which is crazy. It's crazy that there there's going this many of the 2011 Bruins now, where it's like, wow, they're, you know, they're dissecting teams on even strain for them to hopefully, kills, all the momentum. Pretty much been the case for a month now. So if you even get that power-play back to, you know, 20% over this this long stretch, it goes a whole a long way. Especially in the playoffs, in terms of Just Landing more punches against the opponent's. So I think in terms of x's and o's power plays probably stands out the most to me. Yeah.

Is that the right move? Is this going to keep going your general thoughts? Yeah. I mean I can see any reason why you would take them out of the rotation at this point right? I think Bruce Cassidy more or less said that had this band you know the middle of the season and not had a little bit more of a window or maybe a bit more breathing room in the standings to incorporate and get a walk back into the mix. Then of course you do that right? I mean it's not like they're they were looking forward to the Sierra Club, part of the plan to have a whole lot, get bumped out of the rotation and to have Jeremy swimming step. How Will Postponed Games Help The Boston Bruins?

"Bruins will be they will not have their upcoming games against the Buffalo Sabres both postponed due to Buffalo. Cobra late issues not bruised related issues. How do these poems postponed games affect the Bruins going forward? Well, if you want to look at the negatives first, which I think the only real negative there for the Bruins the fact that they're not going to you know, they're going to add those off to schedule later on when you already got a pretty compressed 56-game schedule like the last thing you want is to just kind of drop those games, you know in March April with the schedule really sets picking up there. So that's Thursday. The only drawback um and the immediate, you know, you look at losing those two games off the schedule probably helps the Bruins right? Because one obviously the priority it's not like this is an outbreak on the email. They didn't you know play a team that you're going to see guys also get held out cuz of, you know contact tracing or testing so the room starts your vote on that regard. But yeah losing those two games for right now seems like it's a I wouldn't say it's good fortune for the Bruins, but they definitely could use it right especially that that's Saturday game. If you play that Saturday home game against the Sabres you're looking at three games in four nights for this team and you look at you know, the amount of guys they already have on the Shelf with the bruskin grzelcyk and Kasha and stood Anika and you add in the fact that you know, they get through that Washington seriously doubt anyone getting really injure like put on the Shelf but held yeah. Yeah exactly, but you still got quite a few guys with bumps and bruises Bruce Cassidy said so the fact that song Um, you know, I'm Bruce Cassidy more or less said that you know, maybe they practiced on Saturday, maybe maybe Sunday but having you know, four days off without actual games is a good choice, you know a good break for the Bruins in terms of letting them rest of these guys who have taken maintenance days as of late. Plus it allows you then to rest a guy like Chris like in Nebraska who would be back pretty soon both guys already started skating at Warrior. So rather than you know, Rush those guys back or have to play know another two games against Buffalo without those guys in the lineup you could rest of those guys, you know work back at their own pace and potentially going to go back on the road again next week have all of a sudden your you know, your second pairing defenseman and your top six guy back in the lineup, so I'm obviously not ideal when you you're having games postponed due to covid-19.

Boston Bruins Now Facing Elimination, After Tampa Bay Lightning Win 3-1 In Game 4

"To the Lightning in Game four. The Bruins with just two goals in their last seven periods, Bruce Cassidy says. We need to take higher quality shots. They are shot mentality team and if we had a little more of that, too, maybe we would get some of these brakes for pucks going off people, so that will be a bit of the message as well. And it was on. I thought we did a better job with that, but again too much off that Game five Monday at seven. The Celtics Sick on the Raptor for Game one of the Eastern Conference semifinals. The

David Pastrnak, Ondrej Kase deemed ‘unfit to participate’ in Bruins’ practice

"The 1st 2 days of training camp because of league protocols and finally getting back on the ice yesterday, both David Pasternak and Andres Kotcher were absent from Bruins practice this morning. According to coach Bruce Cassidy, the tour unfit to participate in practice right now, But the coach couldn't discuss the situation any further due to NHL protocols. So obviously missing two guys that play up in your lineup and a guy like David that you're, you know, leading score. You want him in there? You want to get back into condition you are returning to the ice and being with his team mates, so He's not. So it does allow you to do some other things, but obviously would prefer have both those guys back there.

Chicago Blackhawks’ Dominik Kubalik named Calder Trophy finalist

"A record the podcast this week. We've seen some of the awards. Come down the pike. Including today's news that the calder trophy and Jack Adams award finalists are Quinn Hughes. Kelman, car and Dominic Kwalik for the caller and John Tortorella Bruce Cassidy and Elaine. For the Jack? Adams. Mike sold without a Jack Adams finalist. Kinda weird. He must not be nice to those broadcasters that given the time of day after skates something. A little, gruff or something, because honestly the thing about it. Is that like I? Don't know who kick out. For that. I'm really happy. Happy. Jesus I'm really happy. Cassidy made it I'm really happy. Cassidy made it because I feel like this award overlooks guys. That coach really good teams a lot. Yeah I think he's deserving of it, but I mean like. Tortorella did a great job in Wien. Yo You could point to and say there are tangible improvements. The flyers made under his watch I guess it might be. Even you know the guy you kick out for Sullivan, but I just I don't know Sullivan a really good job. This year I just wish I could have gotten into the top three.
