"Contact football and a foul. I'm telling you legend. What most fans do not appreciate is how quickly players have to think on the court. You have to consider all the options and you have to make a split second decision, and that's exactly what Bruce Brown did. He survived, surveyed the situation. He saw that he had Kevin Durant, one of the most lethal scores in NBA history, and a two time finals M V P on the floor. He also saw that he had Kyrie Irving, the guy hit one of the most legendary shots in finals history out there. Bruce Brown saw all of that. And he scanned all of that. And he went through all that. And he thought to himself. Oh, hell, no. You guys are old news. Hell, no. This is my time. This is my team. These are the Bruce Brown nets. Katie Kyrie, you dudes are decoys at this point. I'm drawing this one up for me. You're washed. I love this so much. Oh, and to have the confidence of Bruce Brown in a situation like that, man. I love that too. No, he didn't win the game, but he absolutely redeemed it. This game is now going to be known as the Bruce Brown game. The 1st 47 minutes were brutal, but the Bucks are not going to apologize for it. And then the last minute was all Brown and he shouldn't apologize for it either. Man. You do you legend you, do you I don't care if the beard comes back or not. Not as long as they have Bruce freaking Brown running the floor and taking the last shot. As long as that dudes out there, man. I got nothing to worry about. No wonder they're not sweating Harden. They got Bruce Brown. Love this Guy's act. 1 806 368686 love This Guy's act hated that game, man that was so ugly. Seriously. That's set game basketball back about 30 years. Alright. Other topics today Ugly It was ugly. Somebody hit that game with the ugly bat repeatedly, like I said, fell out of the ugly tree and hit every single branch on the way down. In addition to this Big head bets coming up in our number three. And now the dilemma. The dilemma. You want me to talk about the tubes, don't you? You really would like me to weigh in on the tubes. And you know me. Would really like to not weigh in on the tubes. So I have to kind of way. What it is you want from me versus what it is. I'm supposed to give to you. Right? Again. If I left his show up to the clones, I would be a clown instead of a host. So clowns just because I haven't referenced it. "To brooklyn nets are so good. It's a little unfair. They play the next monday and they weren't getting enough stops in the first half. This is what makes them so dangerous. They could keep an offensive crater. Like hardin in the game steve. Nash did and he said you know. Let's get all d. around him. The bringing bruce brown. Nick claxton to get the d. Gone and it worked throwing kevin durant when he comes back. They've got too many weapons heart and finished the game with twenty one. Fifteen and fifteen curry had thirty four. The game did end on a bit of a strange call against julius randle who up for three point shot. Kara got a piece of it randall. Land and tried to put on the floor any chopped up and miss a three point shot but scott foster calling for travel because he put it on the floor. I've never heard of that rule. That scott foster said if it came a little bit loose. He could put it on the floor but that was a travel either way. The nets are a half game back of philly for first in the east and they could get

"Passed down for a month. Shumpert Jalen fronts and knocks it out across the baseline. Dusty, we're talking all start this Your biggest snub. I mean, I know Booker got in. Yep. Sabonis got in for Durant on the East. I think a guy we're going to see. Tomorrow is one of the biggest. Here's an inbounds in a corner jumper. No good for Chris chose a offensive rebound, and Bruce Brown got blocked down low by West Awan Do Brooklyn keeps it and a Robertson three from the left wing is good. 3.5 minutes to go. Alice 1 10, Brooklyn 95. I'm thinking, Chris Middleton of the Bucks Having a pretty good you have abused my biggest Who's your biggest number remaining? Well, I thought Tobias Harris possibly is. Trey Burke knocks down the three Tobias Harris in the East, You know, number one seed. His filly who They are going to maintain the number one seed since the next couldn't get it done here tonight. There's turnover for Brooklyn with three minutes to go, 1 13 95 nets and she goes Oh, with a near steal it stripped Bronson outta bounds. Dallas will keep Many thought Trey Young was snubbed. Brandon Ingram Fred Vanvleet list. Up in Toronto. I mean, look, you're always I've always been a big proponent of just 15 guys. Put 15 guys out there right now And then you can run 35 do Three centers. Six Forward six guards. Yep, That's it right there. He's got three. You could just make three teams of five and just throw him out there. 123 and then in the second half, you can mix match. There's an inbound I Luper toe Powell in the lane, able to flip it up and in the basket with three minutes to go. Back to a 20 point. Dallas lead. Kevin Winter chimed in as well. He had a good one. Bam out of bio from Miami. Yeah, tough with losing record and young Nelson..

"Start to this season. After sitting out all of last year, the Tauron Achilles from the 2019 finals. Is the first free throw gives Durant 21 points on the night and 20 to as he hits both. He Had a franchise record setting ninth straight game with the least 25 42 the other night. He's on his way to 1/10 straight 87 76. Brooklyn holiday driving into the lane steps back free throw line got fouled by Bruce Brown. And two free throws coming. The clock stopped at 4 26 to go in the third for Jew holiday Heck of a third quarter here going on for the Brooklyn Nets, much like I expected the offense, eyes going to be toward it's going to be so difficult to stop this team. My questions are can they do it? On the other end? They're doing the job on the glass there doing the job on one of the best offenses in the MBA. Guarding the three point line. This is impressive here. Through three quarters for the Brooklyn Nets and J B. This story is going to take a while, though, Right? Right. You got to get Kyrie Irving back. We got to get the math eliminated. Then you gotta work on all those defensive issues as well. It could be a while before we see the potential of this team. On who even starts. We don't take out a line up. When Kyrie comes back on Wednesday, potentially They hit the free throws. And now a steal by Portis. One on to Port is trying to keep the dribble. Saves it on the end line nicely to Augustine will cross court Taconic. Good looking a three from the wing. No hiring about it. Bruce Brown beats porters to the rebound. Four minutes to go here in the third Brown front court gives it up to Jeff Green. Loop it to.

"Three. Nothing clean. Sweep it in all those games. Where was Kwai Blake? Griffin was everywhere. They also had standing. Johnson gave one, though. But Bruce Brown and Kawhi Leonard, the young gritty Bruce Brown. Could he do anything in school? I learned that in that playoff series, I doubt it. Kwai Lin is a different animal. There's different. There's different levels from regular season to these playoffs and Kaleigh. Leonard is a different animal when it comes to the playoffs for ashore. Yeah, I think it's important to mention Member a couple years ago 2016 The Pistons make a playoff run Their 1 44 and 38. They swept the calves that year. The and that's what ended up playing in the postseason. Exactly What difference between LeBron James Oh, yeah, that's a good point. LeBron in the postseason abroad in the postseason is a different animal. But same with any Great team in the playoffs. They can turn it up a notch, and I think I would consider the rafters a great team. Now there's no LeBron on the rafters. But they have Kawai, who is pretty darn good himself. And a guy that has won an MBA championship in a guy I'm guaranteeing. Well, turn it on an extra notch. Once the playoffs come around, so I wouldn't I think they could get a game. I think the Pistons could win, maybe a game three at all CIA, but that's gonna be a tough. Siri's also picked up Mark Castle, which was huge for him as well. That's an upgrade from a valanciunas seaq and look like a future star in this league complain and It's just different. So can we blame all of the losses in the previous years in the playoffs on just Kyle Lowry and DeRozan? We do have their coach. Is he part responsible for some of it? And so we never know. So hope Not. So we don't play Philly Bottom line. If you play Philly, this is really a disaster. Way. Play with them. Just don't want you right now. We're in. It looks like we're Yeah. Gonna be if I had to guess, because Brooklyn has an incredibly tough schedule for the last seven games or whatever it is so Right now, I think all like the projections, which don't really mean a whole lot. But all the projections have the Pistons finishing at six and have the Sixers finishing at three so that could turn out to be a disaster. But at the same time I think it would kind of be fun to watch Joel and Andrea go at it. And maybe that'll be a good test for Andre, because if he can show something in that Siri's than maybe he's made some significant improvements. Now if he goes in And let's Joel, uh, buy a house inside of his head. Then you know it's the same All Andre and he hasn't made much progress. So that'll be a good barometer for for Andre. I believe, and we make a good ratings. Definitely for the for the networks between entree and Joe while they go out every game in game and even the postgame interviews, Andre calling him out a couple years back, saying You can't compare me to a man that can't play a back to back to well. The next game, Andrea picks up his second team. He's out of there and enjoy lt's waving the Detroit crowd so that we're great playoff serious. Don't watch just between those two guys. But bottom line is The final scores are to be ugly, and that's that's not what this city needs, especially the Lions, the Tigers and the Red Wings. Also being a dumpster fire. They need something to cheer for right in this city. They definitely need something to cheer for so they could draw Toronto they could draw Indiana Mean, highly definitely dry India at this point, But if that could happen this city could I. I think that we'll be seeing a different kind of animal in the L. C, especially when it comes to a crowd size. That's what the city needs, especially into tree with all the other. Professional sports teams. College seems besides Michigan State really not putting in Matt, What's your take out? I mean, the pistons need Ah, do some income postseason time, right? Oh, definitely. I mean, we hope as us fans like we hope to get Indiana maybe, like squeak. Gotta Siri's and maybe make it to the second round, but As long as we like, put up a good fight like I remember in 2016 when we played Cleveland, I wasn't really even though we got swept like I wasn't disappointed in a team. I was actually really proud of. The team for not being in the play offs for so long and for us given given Cleveland LeBron James and the Cavs a good fight every single game every game came down to the wire. So I was I was not disappointed in the Pistons that also if they could do that. Even if they get swept somehow if we play Philadelphia, Toronto, But if we make if we don't get blown out I'm proud of the team. If that happens, and 16 it was like it was a different feel, because they're younger they had on Andre was like what 21 years old. At the time, Reggie was healthy. They had told bias, then all of a sudden Get Blake Griffin and all the sudden you're out of the playoff contention. But now I think that I'm proud of this team this year. So far, I mean, we were high on them to start the year on this show, then when they completely fell off or out of the playoff race, it was just a huge kind of a wave of Yeah. Now, now they're kind of Ah. I know it's still it's still a race right now. Orlando and Orlando's down one at halftime and Ah, in Indiana and their a game the game behind the Pistons as the eighth seed that scare me. Orlando's a good team at all, but and you got you got Brooklyn was 1/2 game behind us there. Going in on the Boston Celtics. Right now. They're up 17. So I mean This race is still a race if I mean 678 sees the nine seeds are all solidified by game and 1/2. So ah! Don't count any teams out right now. I mean, Charlotte's still trying to make a run right now. So what's going to be the biggest key for the Pistons drew moving down the stretch and closing out this year with the final seven games..

Pistons Andre LeBron James Indiana Blake Griffin Kawhi Leonard Siri Bruce Brown Kwai Blake Cleveland Brooklyn Orlando Toronto Andrea Kwai Lin Philly Johnson Boston Celtics Joel Kyle Lowry

was in fear that I was going to miss the fifth and final said I thought that I might miss all day because that's my commute to New York in before match dot you never know how it's going to go I thought Djokovic was going to win I thought he played better over the course of the tournament and he was the favorite coming into today's match I figured it would go five full sets but I didn't know I thought occurred before I didn't think joke would take him out and three but I had it on my phone my whole way up I'd read my book but phone book in one hand phone in the other a good site I didn't have video on the train but I had an updated scoreboard I kept Jack and Jack and Jack and Jack and and by the time I got off the train because there are certain areas the train is no problem because it's all above ground but then I take the path train in from New Jersey to Manhattan and you go under the Manhattan under the Hudson River it would phone is gone and so you know that the last court you saw as the only score you gonna say until you get all I do is about a fifteen twenty minute part of my commute where I got no communication with the outside world and I didn't know what the score slam championships and games Changin players changed in a way like I'm gonna conversation today about baseball in our home run just so prevalent and their reasons for that but one thing it is stayed constant in Tennessee is there are four grand slam matches every year there's the Australian and the French then Wimbledon and the U. S. open that didn't change that runs in get added to it doesn't get to attracted rom it's war so someone asked the windows for every year and it's only those war every year to have an era where the twenty winning if players of all time most aber Federer won the dialed to Djokovic three to all be playing at the exact thing but see if you can understand somebody comes along and the bass now we've had this conversation about boxers and was but your boxing champion really great was his ten year mark by not much competition you can only face to guide you praise you guys have been facing each other for a decade now yeah so don't work done conclusion it one of the three of them is going to take you to the majors but who's going to get which one other than yeah we know Nadal always wins the French they brought up on each other till which is amazing what they've done yes and my other question which you're eating the grass Djokovic eight I will you ever won any copper this would you eat the field that you played off not without a wager in place we had a bet with someone that everyone he would cow down on a little grass right there off the court you've got to get that minimum what does a couple drinks out of it maybe a couple hundred out of it maybe a couple thousand that I don't know who the bad or even every bad but I'm telling you if I were to do something like that guaranteed you know for a fact Jodi Mack is cashing in on is in some way shape or form I'm not doing it for sense of the moment I'm not even doing it for entertainment purposes I'm doing a for profit that's the only way you could get me to eat some grass after winning a Wimbledon final eight five five two one two four two two seven Mitch hang in there you'll start that in the next segment what is called the rest of the hour then our gas start will talk to Jared Dubin CBS sports NBA insider Mike DiGiovanni from the LA times about the angels and the night they had the other night to celebrate and remember their rough fallen teammate Dodgers running off get and not sin blown away the National League all LA baseball might D. He's probably not in the same level the other therefore guys but you know had the dream bit. He's he's interesting right he is. He's an interesting guy. I think there is some talent there. The mavs are planned along game bone for that twenty-one free agency who knows and but the other four with Miles Lonnie <hes> Bruce Brown Robinson they are all draft August not Bruce Brown with the Arthur all drafted in the middle of the first and I'm watching guys. It's like it's so much of their successes situational. You look at like miles bridges. He went eleven he won. Eleven twelve and now he's on a team where there's nothing else going on. He's going to be the guy eventually they'll give him every chance to succeed whereas Jerome Robinson taking a pick or two later he went never play in L._A.. It's just crazy how much like the context effects are careers ears how they're perceived yeah. It's particularly interesting because the the crop guys that you identified your modern players that just I don't know what their college situation was like I. I don't really spend much time watching college basketball but it seems like they didn't get picked highly but they play the sort of style that the game is going toward which is particularly interesting because in last year's draft class you had so many big's going at the top of the draft and third seem to be still this <hes> kind of dissonance between acknowledging that wings who shoot three's play this type of style that the game is headed toward in particular in playoff basketball and yet the most talented guys coming out. Were still big men so I wonder how much they could adaptively. I guess a lot of them have adapted surprisingly enough Marvin Bagley even de'andre and had a good rookie season some like pretty much all of them at the top did but these guys still fell L. probably farther than they should have is fair to say well. It's interesting so last year's draft. If you go from like eleven to twenty four it was all wings all wings like six four six eight wings. It was just massive run from like S J eight eleven all the way to Chandler Hutchison twenty four and like if you look at the odds and those drafts two or three of those.

"We don't have any picks to give up. We would have to give up one of our big name players, probably Andre Drummond. That'd be awesome. I to go. I think he needs to I think he needs to go to. But then you just had those two guys. And I think the most important part is you need to you need to get draft picks, and you need to get pieces that will surround the player. I don't think we need to compete this year. Dennis Smith junior, by the way, another name. That's actually been tossed around regarding the pistons that that's one that fits what I was thinking perfectly a guy who of isn't happy with the situation in Dallas. But a guy that's the pistons could take a chance on and he could pan out to be a great point guard in the NBA. Yeah. I think that'd be a great pickup. I think that'd be probably like almost the ceiling of what we could get in my opinion. At least I think we could go get a Starbucks. Don't think that's gonna benefit us this year. And I think we need to wait to shop until the off season for big name player. Yeah. I mean, I'm not sure with Dennis Smith junior. You're going to have to give up so much. And I don't think he's worth at that. I don't think he's worth twenty nine thousand nine because we're gonna have to give up that first rounder nineteen first rounder with Preili ish Smith coming off the and who you got you got to pick up Jose Calderon out of his wheelchair. And you've got to walk them to the court. I don't think that the pistons are ready to do that. What this? That's intriguing me. Is there was not any report? Here's just something that I'm thinking of what did you go you call up Atlanta a team that's struggling and you say, here's Andre Drummond paramount. Trae young divas bays more first rounder because I don't think you're going to get too much for Andre Drummond. Anyway, because he's got no offense of ability because he can't score unless you're throwing it up above the ram, and he jumped out jumps people. And he's a he's a great rape. Rebound. Are don't get me wrong. But I don't think going get too much in return. I think camp as more in a first round or maybe a second round. Right. I think that's I think that's best case scenario with Andre Drummond. Yeah. It's tough to say, but you just kind of set how under German, you couldn't get a lot in return. Besides Blake whose untouchable, Andre German is the guy that you could get the most for really I think so I mean who else I think because our roster so weak that I I think Andres the most attractive to other teams, you're not you're not gonna get a boatload. A guys coming back in a boatload of picks for them. Now. I don't think so. But my point is I'm agreeing with you on that point is it's kind of sad. Our biggest asset is Andre Drummond in even he wouldn't bring a lot in return. Maybe a first round pick. A maybe a serviceable player like as more swing man with a draft pick. But that's about it. And that really kinda shows you where the pistons are at as a franchise and also just the team on the court. Now, there's not a lot going on there. Besides number twenty three in the blue and red. And I see that Reggie Jackson. I think that he's going to be much better off in a different system. I don't think he he's fitting too well in. The running God he needs that high screen and roll where he can live it up and create his own shot off the dribble. Whether it's a step back pull up from sixteen feet or that little Florida that he loves to shoot up there. You can't train it with his contract right now. I think you've got to wait another year or two to get rid of Reggie Jackson. You know, what this team? I think you're going to focus on getting this bench unit back up there. I don't think that Bruce Brown is an established shooting guard of the NBA career highs ten points. I think I don't think they can get the job done as a starting shooting guard. I know that he prides himself on defense. But I think he's had about three defensive battles that I've liked to see he's he's a young standing Johnson. He's an easy route for Johnson in his first year playing against LeBron James. And that's that sixteen playoff series Stanley Johnson's another guy that I absolutely hate. I think he's he's next to go as well. And I think that you're throwing around Lukin ours. Name in a couple of packages. Well, Luke Kennard is actually a guy who maybe he might just have the highest ceiling among the pistons players hit twenty two last night against Miami. And he's the guy who could help a playoff team right now shoot come off the bench that's valuable in the NBA these days. But maybe maybe him. Maybe if Luke Kennard who could get us something in return. They have Bruce Brown. He's starting shooting guard right now. To laugh at that. I laugh at Bruce Brown is starting shooting guard averaging a whole five points per game shooting get this Steph curry watch out shooting twenty six percent from three point land and thirty nine percent from the field. I mean, there are not many guys in the league who can shoot the ball. Like, Bruce Brown Johnson is the other guy that compares them. Yeah. Stanley Johnson the differences, though Stanley Johnson was a highly touted top ten pick top fifteen or whatever it was. Eight. Yeah. Okay. So. Yeah. Top ten pick and the expectation was. Yeah, he might he might be a little slow offense for the first couple of years, but he'll work hard. He'll get it together. So after that twenty sixteen series where Stanley Johnson put on defensive clinic. I think Detroit kinda was like all right? We can get behind this guy. I mean, he he plays hard. But it just has not panned out for Stanley Johnson. And the fan base is kind of turned on him a little bit. Yeah. By any means, I think last year was that was a big season big proving season for Stanley to come out here and say, you know, what I've been shooting the ball better than the off season. We've seen every report Stanley's due for a breakout year, and I'm sick and tired of reading those. And so are you? I think my right guys. Are you sick of seeing Stanley Johnson's ready for a breakout year folks, if you want to get your thoughts on this show, call eight hundred nine two three nine three eight five that's eight hundred nine. "But of course they had to avoid the tax them. They also waved Eric Moreland and signs as a potentially. I don't think Pachulia is really gonna, help them too much anymore of Bruce Brown curry. Thomas don't have a great field for them yet. That's actually Liam seem for who's going to judge it in a couple of episodes here. Jose Calderon is total blah for the middle. I mean, that's another one of those ones. Where would you have rather gotten someone who at least has some upside in this just total caretaker? But they already have two point guards Reggie Jackson instrument anyway. So it's probably not gonna matter. They needed someone who's okay without playing. So I ended up giving them a d. Because they lost soliver. They lost your three tala ver- Minnesota offered him just a little bit more than probably they would have been comfortable with under the tax of he was a big contributor for them less your, they lost NS. They just got a little worse for this year. And yeah, they had limited resources, but getting a little worse for this year when you're trying to compete this year a get ya. I give them a c. minus first time I have any team over you and for me. So if you think about that they had, let's call it like four or five million to spend outside of minimums GR threes, fine, a fine play. And I liked that they were one of the few teams that gave a player. It looks like to me, this is my read on the contract, more money in eighteen nineteen to get a team. Friendly is not an option. It's a non guaranteed for that second year and that that's a good thing. I think we're more team should have done that pay a little bit more money and they have a higher opportunity costs than most because they only had so much under the cap to really do. And then we should also mention that they gave up two seconds. For Thomas that was not a pick they had in the first place, so that could end up biting them as well. And you know, covering or or he could be good. We, we don't know that it's always just we. We just have to see like a again. No, I didn't factor that into much with my grade, and I feel like Pachulia for Moreland and cauldron for bikes that those are both upgrades, but they see radically could have gone somebody else for the minimum. And you know, I think both those guys are fine called her own. I think the idea behind that is more just have somebody stable if either Ishmael with or Reggie Jackson gets hurt, we can certainly see that we've seen it before and then with Julia, you know, gap fill good veteran, that kind of stuff. And I'm fine with this off season. And you talked about television NS like I think and is just wasn't. He did. They barely used them last year like it feels like he wouldn't have wanted to go back there and then tolliver maybe with the coaching change with everything else that wouldn't been there. And I didn't factor in decay. See part of it too much. He is definitely to me a good job. We should've talked. Definitely. I mean, but I don't know like how I wonder how he's going to be with the specific challenges this team like that might end up being the, it's definitely the biggest addition of their off-season, but I don't know how much of a positive is because he can't fix what's I. I'm not sure you can fix what's broken, but I would love to be wrong on that. All evidence indicates that Casey has done a very good job. So regular season coach with raptors and certainly the pistons should be more concerned with the regular season than the postseason. But we'll see..
