"It's like master key over there. It's like master key. I need to hear this, sir. And I know you don't usually take things and say it with your chest and whatever. You're a very low key. I'm okay. You're low key. You're looking. I want the high key. I want the I want the cowboy fan in you that you used to be when you used to clap back at people, okay? You need to be provoked in order to be clapped clapping back. Why do you want to start something with me? I want the cowboy fan opinion of Jimmy G being re signed by the San Francisco forty-niners. This is the team. That one and done you. This is the team that showed up and apparently intimidated. The cowboys in their own house, this is that team that it now has this on their lap on their plate. You now have the floor Dallas cowboy fan TJ Jefferson. Okay, if I'm keeping the G real with you as a cowboys fan. I don't care. Let me explain to you as I've always said about being a cowboy fan. Cowboy fans are usually caring about our team. We don't care about anyone else's. So that's how I feel. Now, if you're asking me if someone who sits here and works with you guys and has to have an opinion on this, I'll say this. We always hear about the backup quarterback being so this is a very important position, especially if you've got a good team. Yes. So I sit here and I listen to all this and I know that there's a salary discrepancy in all of that. But the fact of the matter is you're in a better position, having them on your team than not having them on your team. So I look at it as the niners, it's a problem, it's a conundrum, but I'd rather have that type of problem than have no clue who my backup quarterback is. That's just how I feel. And again, and I understand that there's, like I said, issues when this guy's looking over his shoulder, whatever, whatever. That's where having him on your team is not to your benefit. Having him on your team. As opposed to Seattle is to your benefit. Having him on your team in case Lance gets hurt so you don't turn things over to Nate sudfeld and you still have a chance to win the Super Bowl because you've got a guy who's played in the Super Bowl for you and the locker room loves. That's to your benefit if it's to your benefit long-term for Trey Lance to work out and Jimmy G's there to make him look over his shoulder or make him look less than because Jimmy G comes in and says, hey everybody. Hey, everybody in the locker room, veterans who have wanted Jimmy G to start. That's how this can look. It looks much easier when the veteran knows what's what? So that's when it's not to your benefit, and that's where I would think a cowboy fan would say, well, you know, it's been a while since dak displaced Romo. We haven't had to deal with this for a while. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. But cowboys fan this is a fan of the cowboys, not my problem. We got our own issues as someone who talks about this. That's kind of how I feel. I'd rather have that problem than have a problem where your backup is Joe snow. I didn't want to put them down like that. Got cut. Cuts. Did he really? Yeah. Cowboys. One quarterback on the roster right now. I'm not sure that I'm sure that'll change. That's going to change. At this moment. Are you serious? Yeah. They cut Cooper rush. Were they going to sign? Probably Cooper rush. That the jets are going to cut. I don't know. Wait a second, I did not. It was I aware of that. I thought that Ben dinucci got cut, but you're right. We only do technically have one. They both got cut, yeah. What are they doing? Probably just waiting for the run. I think it'll be will Greer to be honest with you. Tyler Smith will start there too? He's going to protect and throw. Apparently, teams are inquiring Pittsburgh about mason Rudolph. That could be the one there too. They are not budging at the moment. That could be that one, too. If mason Rudolph's available, I would go get him if I'm the Dallas Cowboys, although he doesn't run the same offense that Prescott did. Man, if you're a Dallas cowboy fan as well, I would be genuinely concerned. I would be genuinely concerned about the team in Philadelphia. I've been talking myself into the eagles being the team to beat in the NFC Eastern Conference. I even said when tyron Smith went down, I'm going to call my shot and say the eagles are going to win the division. I said. And then today they go ahead and get Chauncey Gardner Johnson. From the New Orleans Saints and they flip a 5th next year and the worst of the two 6th round picks in 2024 for a guy who is not only a plug and play defensive back, but somebody who I think Philadelphia is going to love because he just can't stop running his mouth. The number of times that he gets hit by an opponent swung at, by an opponent while he's wearing his helmet. Means what's coming out of his helmet is so much sauce? I think Philly's gonna love him on the back end of that secondary that just keeps getting better and better with the young bulldogs that they got on both. First two levels of the defense and the rest of that team with AJ Brown on it and the way that they run it, it's all on Jalen hurts there, isn't it? If Jalen hurts can take that step forward and continue on in the NFL as a quarterback with ascending arrows pointing up that's another team that suddenly becomes a little bit more fascinating. I think that's a neat pickup for August 30th to say the least, sir. I think so too. Eagles. Eagles have a hell of a roster. Harry roseman's put a hell of a roster. They have been watering and fertilizing. That roster. Nick sirian got a nice team in front of him. Oh, Dream Team. Don't do that, man. Don't do that. It didn't work out for those. That's not cool. That was near days after the lockout ended. After they got different. This is different though. That was just a bunch of that looks like some of my fantasy teams, or I'm drafting guys who are great three years ago. Oh my God, he's available in the third round. Let me take him. Right. That's the way that team was put together. I know, but it's such a great quote. Right? Yeah. For chip Kelly, if I'm not mistaken. Play it again. Right? Was it chip Kelly? Back then? Or is it back end or Andy Reid? Who was it in 2011? Who was the eagles coach in 2011 for the Dream Team? Dream Team. I

"The landscape now and it's fascinating to me. One of the things that I wrote last night when I was writing about Aryans is that in the end, walking away, he's one of the few people who you see coaches and I've covered coaches towards the end of their career, right? And there's such a legacy focus, right? There's such a, how am I going to be remembered, you know, what is it going to look like when then a film network does the football life, right? And all this kind of stuff. And with Bruce Arians, you know, he's already gotten the football life, I guess. He's already gotten the Lombardi trophy, but to leave the NFL at least slightly better than you found it. I think, is such a credit to him, but also it's a responsibility that tenured white coaches have. You guys have been so lucky for so long. And there's obviously some hard work that there's a ton of hard work that goes into it. But there is a responsibility. And if nobody else takes this mantle up, then, you know, people always complain, and I want politics out of my sports. I want politics out of my sports. Well, if you want politics out of your sport, start treating people fairly, you know? And I think Bruce Arians did that with that maneuver. I mean, because he's absolutely right. I mean, let's play out next season where, okay, either the Buccaneers are just, you know, Tom Brady turns out to be 45. You know, he's just an older guy. And, you know, start slowing down, or if he gets hurt because they've lost some offensive lineman, and they're going to fail to protect him. Or, you know, he forces his way out and he works with another coach that he's always wanted to work with for his year 46 and 47 seasons. What happens to Todd Bowles after that? And so I think that this at least in the right now gives a head coach of color and opportunity unlike we've ever seen a head coach of color gap. I mean, you could argue Tony dungeon being getting hired and Indianapolis was gigantic in that regard but Peyton Manning wasn't Peyton Manning back then either. So it's a really, you know, if you're a tenured head coach and you're at the end or tail end of your career, you know, you have to be thinking this way. I think this is one of the things that we should all be taking away from this. Like you have to leave the game healthier and better than when you found it. Yeah, that would be nice. I'm not overly optimistic about that. Just because history has shown us that that hasn't been the case. I mean, this is sort of an isolated incident of a guy who yeah, you know, and we keep saying full marks to Bruce Arians and this is his legacy and whatever. And that's great. It should be..

"Players in the coaching industry and I said, what can we do to stop sham Rooney rule interviews? And the prevailing thought was like head coaches of color or coaches of prospective head coaches of color need to stop going on these interviews. And I was like, man, like, that's where we're at, right? Where the only way that anyone sees to theoretically stop sham Rooney rule interviews is for coaches to give up the chance to interview for head coaching jobs and essentially log jam the system. Like that is the number one idea out there right now for very smart people who are like, hey, we want to fix this too. But that's like, that's so incredibly screwed up and why should it fall? Isn't it? Yeah. Like a black candidate to stand up and say, I'm not going to take this interview that might probably won't because generally historically we've seen that it doesn't might, though, result in me getting a job. So there's a journalist that I think is absolutely incredible. His name is Damon young. He's written up for a bunch of different places. He now has a column for The Washington Post and he just recently started a podcast for crooked media and he's a black journalist. And he was just talking about it's a crooked media production, but it's a Spotify exclusive. And around the whole Joe Rogan thing where he was like they took down Spotify took down all of the episodes where he said the N word and just a bunch of racist abhorrent things. There was a discussion about whether or not podcasters of color should be on the Spotify platform. And Damon had a really smart column in The Washington Post about this where he was like, look, I get why some people of collar podcasters of color have decided I don't want to be on Spotify's platform. But why does it have to fall on me?.

"But it's something that I think Bruce Arians to his credit has helped move the ball forward on. But there aren't nearly enough organizations doing the same and doing it in kind. Yeah. And so I actually pulled up the list that I was working off of last night. Lovey Smith was what Rex Grossman in that Super Bowl for sure this quarterback in the Super Bowl. I think it was for X Grossman. Tony dungy had Peyton Manning. Mike Tomlin had Ben Roethlisberger, Jim Caldwell had Matt Stafford. But then Romeo crennel, God knows who he had in Cleveland. I mean, all of them. It's just horrifying. Yeah. Just think back and look at her mad words with the jets. And the chief, so her Edwards had Chad Pennington and Vinny testaverde and then with the chiefs. Who had their moments? They had their bumps. Yeah, they had the moments with the chiefs, I believe it was brodie croyle. Wow. That's a pull. That's a deep pull. Leslie Frazier, who had Christian ponder and I believe that team was so bad at the quarterback position. That was you have Adrian Peterson just ran for like 9000 yards and they snuck in as a wild card in the playoffs and I think like Joe Webb had to start a game as like a quarterback but he was like a receiver hybrid at that point so yeah, I mean and Brian Flores who to a tongue of iloa and they pushed him out in part because he maybe recognized that he wasn't a good quarterback and he could not agree to sign Tom Brady on a yacht and so here we are. Which always wink and sign Tom Brady on a yacht. Like if you can do that if you're ever offered that opportunity. I would like to express my willingness to all 32 teams in the NFL that if you put me on a yacht, I will wink and nod sign Tom Brady for you. I'll agree to almost anything. If they took you, John and they walked you down to Marina del Rey, which is the only place I know in California because they used to have to stay there when I worked at NFL network. And there are boats there, so I can cross cross reference that factually. And they were like, you have to have Tom Brady on your podcast. You know, that's a no brainer. On a yacht. Yeah, absolutely. I would absolutely do that. Sign me up. Super devious. So Bruce Arians walks away having had, you know, he said that he had two full-time women on his coaching staff. One in a pipeline defensive coaching position, assistant defensive line coach. He had the most coaches of color on his staff in the NFL. And had the only staff, I believe, outside of the Lions last year. Where all of the top basically ten stakeholders were coaches of color. Now that Todd Bowles has taken over for Bruce Arians, it brings the total to 6. Coaches of color, which is more than double. I mean, you know, we had some lean years here recently. Do you think that and again, the number is not what we're looking for. I've heard coaches say this over and over again, right? It's opportunity. Do you think that this does anything to repair some of the damage that has been done over the last two or three years?.

"Have you have you seen the episodes of Tampa and House hunters? It's beautiful down there. You're in LA too, though. I spent four days in the Super Bowl there and it was like the cleanest air that I've ever experienced in my life. That's totally totally mind-blowing. Well, I mean, you know, I've never been to like Montana. I'm sure that's nice. But like compared to New Jersey, California is like a filtered, it's like living inside of a bottle of dasani. It's amazing. Tampa is the New Jersey of the south. It's oh, you know? Okay, we don't need Tampa. Although, you know, I don't want to say that because I have a lot of friends including you from New Jersey, so I like to tease my Friends from New Jersey. From across the bridge, as we say. Yeah, and I'm an adopted son. I come from a much more bustling sort of high, high intellect, metropolis Scranton, Pennsylvania. So it's a lot, it's a lot different, obviously. And we have to also watch, we have big time. We have bosses from Tampa, so we have to kind of watch the Tampa. Is that right? I was unaware of that. Well, it's been fun working with sports. Co editor in chief. Yeah, coder and chief Ryan hunt a superfan. All right, so we're going to cut all of this out then. Yeah, yeah. This is the last episode. Either way, it was a fun one. So I want to, so the story was co broken, which is an interesting thing. But by former boss an MMU cofounder Peter king and Sam farmer at the Los Angeles Times and what Bruce Arians said when he retired was, I know that, you know, what if Tom Brady gets hurt next year and we go ten and 8 or ten and 7 and they fire everybody and then Todd's back in the candidate pool with everybody else. He's going to get a crappy job with a crappy quarterback and nothing good's going to come out of this. And I thought it was so, you know, that's the definition of being an ally, regardless of how Tom Brady went behind his back and disguised himself and hired an ex FBI agent to push you out somehow. You know, all of that aside. The fact that you're thinking of Todd Bowles, you're thinking of the plight of head coaches of color in a very accurate and honest way, I thought was huge because. I went down the list of head coaches of color since 2000. And there's almost none that have gotten the chance to work with a legitimately good starting quarterback. You have Jim Caldwell, who worked with Matt Stafford, made the playoffs and then got pushed out. You have Mike Tomlin with Ben Roethlisberger. I think you could probably put that other than that. Vance Joseph had Brock Osweiler and Trevor Simeon, Steve Wilkes had Josh Rosen, Todd Bowles first, go around, had Ryan Fitzpatrick Josh mccown and Christian hackenberg. So there's just this sort of disastrous trend where, in order to get to work with a great quarterback, you have to be a quarterback whisperer. And in order to be a quarterback whisperer, you have to be in these insular fraternities of high end offensive thought. And in order to get in those, you have to be a white guy that's Friends with the head coach..

"Cost more. You know, I think what's interesting about Bruce Arians is that he did and we're going to get into kind of his lasting impact, which I think goes far beyond that. But one of the things that kind of came to me and I think is important is that he did touch off this little miniature explosion of, I would say non traditional coaching hires and not the kind that, you know, we've all been clamoring for it just to make the NFL equitable in terms of diversity and have kind of a broad diverse base of head coaches, but what he did do is he changed the sort of, along with Rex Ryan, in some sense, changed the I don't know what you would call it like the expectation, the milieu of, you know, someone that you're bringing into these boardrooms, right? And, you know, he was foul mouthed. He was unafraid, he was old, far older than everybody else. He was rocking the candle hat and The Crown royal and this was a guy that was very individual and I do think his success in a lot of ways did slightly open the door so you don't just hire like buttoned up white coach du jour with like the same, what do you call the haircut that everybody's got? I don't have hair, but what do you call, you know what I'm talking about? It's kind of like tight on the sides and it's got a little swoop. Are you talking about a fade cut or what are you talking about? Like if you were to take every televised NFL insider and put them together and kind of average out what they asked their barber for. It's that cut. You know what I'm talking about? Sure. Yeah. And so like every NFL coach more or less has that, you know? Yeah, that wouldn't be a fade because most NFL coaches have more of like a traditional haircut, but yeah, so I hear what you're saying. And you know what? You're right about to the point about who he hired..

"I didn't anticipate that. So this is what's really interesting. When I wrote last night, I just said that you can not, now that Tom Brady has been freed from New England. I don't think that you can overestimate his machiavellian House of Cards powers. After going 20 years with under the thumb of Bill Belichick, now he's out. I mean, he had gigantic sane personnel in Tampa Bay, you know, there were plenty of whispers about Discord between Tom Brady and Bruce Arians. Pre retirement that, you know, they just quite didn't quite mesh as football intellectuals. And so the fact that he reportedly found out either the day he announced his comeback or the day after is interesting to me. I think you all used to put an asterisk on things for the steroid air in the Hall of Fame. I think everything that you write about Tom Brady post 2020 has to come with one of those little like thinking emoji faces. Interesting, you know? You can't just say like, oh, let's take all these statements at face value. Yeah, and you know what? I was thinking about too. I guess like Tom Brady is essentially Tom Brady's head coach. Once you leave the Patriots and I like the way that you phrase that where you said he was freed from New England because I think that's exactly right. It was like a jailbreak and he finally got out of there. He dug the tunnel under the president and worked his way to freedom. But I guess ultimately he's his own guy. So you install whoever you're comfortable with in this case, it's Todd Bowles, and we're going to get into that. But ultimately, with Tom Brady, Tom Brady is answering only to Tom Brady. Right. So Aryans, it's interesting. I mean, you don't see a ton of one time Super Bowl winning head coaches go to the Hall of Fame. One of my favorite Bruce Arians artifacts is a book that he wrote during his break between the Cardinals and the Buccaneers called the QB whisper and it's a very bold statement when the coaches that the quarterbacks that you've worked with throughout your life are Peyton Manning Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck, Carson Palmer and Tom Brady. So yes, I mean, you are in theory a quarterback whisperer, all of those quarterbacks were already very good. It's like me calling myself the podcast whisper and getting produced by Dan bloom and hosting with John Gonzalez. There's a lot of talent around me that's making better. And listen to the podcast whisperer on this week's episode of sports illustrator weekly. Yes. I mean, whispering all over the place. Yes, John's got three more plugs. Yeah. No, I'm just kidding. But I don't know. When you view the landscape of NFL head coaches, are you are you looking at it as like Arians when he was active like a top 5 guy?.

"No longer a member of the podcast. This is my show now and what's that? Oh, he's just sick today? Okay, never mind. Here is we're actually bringing in a guest host, I guess he's right over here around the corner. Just kidding, hello, John Gonzalez from SI weekly, what's going on? That was an exceptional open. You are a professional podcast host. And I think you killed it. And I also like that you are trying to kick out Gary because I recently guested on open floor and have been doing a thing on Twitter that basically Rohan and Mike pina are not the hosts of that show. That's my show. So in addition to hosting Sports Illustrated weekly, you can also hear me on open floor because we've gotten rid of them as well. So you should come on that show too. Yeah, yeah, and then we'll just be the hosts of everything. Everything. And then, yeah, and that's kind of the ultimate ultimate goal here. You actually did. You came on Sports Illustrated weekly. I'm gonna plug, I'm just gonna, this whole show now is just gonna be a plug for sports illustrator weekly, but you came on this week's episode to do a story that was extremely dumb and extremely fun. You talked to a Harvard scientist about what's wrong with college mascots, which is perfect for the final four this weekend because several of the mascots in the final four this weekend are completely and utterly broken, especially and including the Kansas jayhawk. So I highly recommend people go and listen to Connor or is very dumb, very fun story on sports illustrator weekly. Yes. Very, very excited about that and especially for offending any schools in the south where people get very passionate about these sort of things. And northwestern. In northwestern, yeah, a bunch of scumbags over there in Chicago. So I think Chicago outside Chicago. They're in Chicago. They're in Chicago. Okay. Scumbags nonetheless. But so this will be kind of an interesting story. I mean, Bruce Arians retired so we're taping this on Thursday on Wednesday night, so we're gonna get into, we're gonna get into a little bit about his lasting coaching legacy. I wanna talk to John about, you know, kind of where we see the state of coaches now, some kind of interesting reasoning that Bruce Arians gave for stepping down, Tom Brady, now with Todd Bowles, but everything good. We texted this morning. Your last minute fill in here for Gary, you had your coffee, everything's good. I had my coffee. As I said to you on sports.

"He was on there okay. He was on there quite a bit or middle was brett summer charles nelson reilly smoking his pipe to his tomorrow on the bottom. It was pretty much omnibus. It could have been anybody at any time. Yeah And then Remodel was richard dawson. And then fanny flag pin fairly there. Betty white russ innovate some cool music that they go to answer questions like i said they're always a little bit dirty but when you're young you don't know what these things my bad it wasn't tom bosley. It was the actor who bosley from. Charlie's angels just need to throw that in there. What else. I don't mean to interrupt your flow but you're talking game shows. I'm going to have to jump in and it's all good man. We're composting here. Rich you know these guys might not know it was like happy hour. Come to life on tv and it just seemed like they had so much fun with the dumb donald in the dump doors. You know like. I said i can get all of it but i knew it was funny and i knew match game was pretty cool to and putting like match game. They're now number. Two david doyle played he was quite a bit number two. I'm gonna go back again. This was one of my all time favorites hosted by a guy named chuck bears. It's the gong show. First of all the most frenetic energy of any host. I ever saw if you don't know the gong show. It was kinda like america's got talent minus all the talent and they had celebrity guests big gong behind them and people would come out and they showed their talent but they didn't really have a lot and so they get gong a lot but he gave us such characters as chuck bears like i said so your gene gene. The dancing machine. He just come out and just dance the cab. Calloway something that they had a comic chris brockman who no one knew who. He was carmaker bag on his head. Who is the. I don't know he's no. He's the comic come on. The gong show was so much fun. Backwards also peewee. Herman got his start on the gong show. I'm sure you probably didn't know that. So coming in at number two and number one. We pretty much already given away number one. It's anniversaries tomorrow popcorn. It's the reason that even though. I'm not sitting here with two electric bikes and a car and a trip to florida. Since but i did get a ping pong table. That's way too big for the crib. And i didn't get this over popcorn. Popper prices rights going number. One you know. I used to watch that my grandma all the time. That was our thing so my grandma passed away in two thousand six. Luckily got to spend some time with her and we were watching prices right and i said hey grandma when i go back to california. I'm going on prices. Right in my grandma. He knew me pretty well you know. She's my grandma. She looked at me and laughed. He she said boy. Don't go on. They're acting the fool. Well grandma i'm sorry fool. And that's why all i've got. Is this popcorn but like popcorn. Installation that you do. Let's just stop by my top five. I'm gonna chime in with with my answers. Say i have a quick five hundred. Give your i growing up. I always wanted to go on supermarket. Sweep oh boy. Love love the Loved to be Leslie jones reboot of family feud huge growing up. Used to watch it with. My grandma says well. I got the duo from nickelodeon guts and double dare. Okay mark summers and mike. O'malley press your luck. I love the prices right in hollywood here. We go number five on. My list is pyramid one hundred thousand dollars pyramid. If i had ten that would have been you had five. So that's the whole thing not pyramid. I did put pressure lock on there. The market no big big me stand just seeing people pressure luck in the damn would come in with the cartoon version. Yeah the the cartoon version Both of you left the wheel off. How do you leave wheel of fortune off. I thought it was pretty obvious. So i just wanted us not obvious. Well i if you. I mean the number one was obvious and you put the number one on on put. One can't put the gong show on rich. And i wanted to put the gong show okay By the way my kids we loved also in the house. Though the will arnett Reboot with mike myers playing the fake british version of the gong. Show we love. That jeopardy is number two. But you can't call. I don't i call. That's a quiz show game show. I mean you could break these down into games but watching it. That's on you teacher. That's a that's a wife. He and then. Of course the price. Where i i used to watch that every day in college where i knew of bob barker. Somebody added contestants throw and he didn't leave his spot. He was about to move to his left and say that's a brand new car. Like i knew where his his marks on the floor. What it meant in terms of what he was about to give away poland one one or two exactly but you've got to put the wheel on there too man. Hey that's why it's tj stop fabric. Understand stand but this popcorns delicious. A feud and match game. Were terrific to and of course how. That wasn't the photograph for for the price is right. I don't understand the picture of drew carey. But i'm not handling eric. Stonestreet coming up next on the rich.

"Ask you This this Video and quote from your from your quarterback Tom brady has gone viral where he was talking. I guess it was an inhouse conversation with gras. A gronk there and mike evans. I don't know if you've seen the soundbite were brady saying that. The league throwing flags on defensive players for hitting an offensive player. That is so-called In a defenseless that it's sometimes on the offensive player in the quarterback in though and the and the wide receivers pro. It's their fault for running into the defense and not knowing it And making themselves defenceless and Quarterback putting a baller certain spot in that offensive player should have a certain responsibility on keeping offensive players. Healthy don't leave it to the defense. Did you see that. And if not what do you think of that. We we actually had a long conversation We were we were on a second. Hold the other day playing golfing rain on us. Oh okay nice. Conversation about the rule changes. In how you know again you can throw the ball into the flat and cover tune. The guy goes blown up. Quarterbacks you get the penalty not not to guy hit me right. And so it's like you know they make the onus on defense so so hard anymore and to strike strike zone. You can only bent gas colleague ben so far. The guy you're tackling has been down and you've been down your heads are gonna hit. You got shoulder pads on you know what i mean So i i'm not all for all the rules i'm player safety sure but Some of them are getting out of hand. Well sure like so. So brady's statement or that comment might have been asked a direct question. I don't know what the question was was kind of born out of his on his is on his mind because the two of you had a conversation during a rain delay in golf. So what you said very summer. Okay all right. I love the origin stories about that. Sort of stuff coach. Thanks for the call. Best your family. Let's do this During the season and have a great kickoff against the dallas cowboys. The whole country's watching as you know you bet. Thanks you gotta. Bruce arians always great to talk to bruce arians here on the rich eisen. Show the hce of the tv guys. Tampa bay buccaneers. I just love his plain talk plain language. No bs guy. You think that's what you want. Okay ryan your team. Now we're gonna take a break and we're gonna come back into. Tj's five or no no. That's not that it's now. Tj's big ass grab jay's big ass grab where he's giving you five top five something or other we don't have okay now. Is it true you could take the shot hoskins. He's not in his chair. Is it true. He left midway through that conversation to go pop some popcorn in the oral reddin bacher popcorn machine that he received as a parting gift or he won pardon me he wants to get out of contestants wrote where he got it in the master key game he blew he got it got a key. 'cause he nailed that right as a seven dollars a seventy four dollar correct corners. Yeah man correct okay. Yeah so he did. He needed like ten minutes to kinda pop. Some we're going to have pop here we're wandering for his. Tj's big ass grab bag. He's big for his five. Were wondering what he's figuratively cooking up. But we know what he's literally literally cooking up some butter popcorn right now. Okay and you're out. Tj done okay. Come on come on in a frame you know. It's not like old school where we can't see. Okay let's take a break. We'll come back. This has to be fun. And let's just hope none of us. Actually get a colonel in the back.

"Our number two the rich eisen show on the air to my favorite people in the national football league are going to be calling into the show. And i'm not just saying that because one of them's on hold i would say this about him to his face behind his back on his bus off his boss. You've heard me say it. You know no. Ngo there is no engine please. Uh on blocks. Not on bruce arians the head coach of the world champion tampa. Bay buccaneers calling in about twenty minutes. Time eric stonestreet or my favorite people On the planet calling in the top of our number three he has reprised. His role of randy read and his brother has all kinds of hilarious. We're six days to kick off the nfl season. My gosh. let's go. I cannot wait to see over there. Brockman tj jefferson. Good to see you. Whatever it mike. Del tufo surprised by not showing up for work. Today is the royal way. I need mr del tufo on the phone please. That's what i'm just saying look This man is going to be in a big business. This is a great game. This is a great game to kick off the season tennessee. Titans arizona cardinals in the great city of nashville tennessee. Let's go no doubt about that. Derrick henry let's roll. Unroll him downhill. Jj watt can't quit the afc south essentially And the pro bowl Left tackle of the tennessee. Titans and the Co host with will compton of bus with the boys. None other than Other than Taylor lewan backyard. Joe taylor i'm wonderful. Ratios are helvin vinicio to be honest with you that i was one of your favorite people through Single tier when down my cheek and it was just it just means a lot. It means a lot to come this far you and i. It means a lot to me to. How are you feeling you get everything good. Oh did i feel like a million domestic right now. I'm so excited to be back out here with the boys. I mean literally for the first time in my life. I was excited to actually go play football. Which is like practice not games. I love games but like bright. I was getting ready for camp. And i'm like i can't wait to go to camp which i've never said before our life i have. I have found a new weird passion for playing this game. it has been an awesome camp. My legs goes outstanding mc. Sign up for the boys. You're right there's going to be a great first game huge test for the boys and all three phases. So i'm i'm really excited. Pipe playing a team. That i grew up watching and arizona does great game. That's right you're you're in arizona. Kid right taylor. Dry desert rat for life. It's amazing what you miss when you don't know what you have right and not to get too deep but i mean you're out and now you're back and you're just you're rejuvenated. I love hearing that a love. It's definitely been a transition for sure. you you go through so many emotions. I've never been hurt her before my life. I got my top was out when i was twenty one and that was a bit of a deal but why from that. Yeah yeah we can hit that. The second but I i it's like all this optimism kevin be. I'm gonna be better. I'm gonna be better and then months four five and six and understanding fat depression like not the ha ha joking i like legitimately was physically emotionally just drained like had nothing to me and i was like am i ever going to be the same guy in and It just feels good to be back on the field. I feel like the exact same person. I feel my stance. I feel strong I'm the super grateful. And it really put things into perspective for me for sure like what seriously let's go. Let's let's dig deeper. What do you mean like perspective. Like i like You know people say all time like hey your last snap. Is this month the last time you guys you know all right right. Remember the titans all these cliche football like friday night lights like legitimately to me. I'm like this. Might be the last game i ever played this year. Like september might be the last game ever played a why. Hold back anything. Why worry about x. y. and z. Like it's really given me an opportunity to kind of narrow in my sight of what is truly important at the moment. I'm dealing you know. There's no outside thoughts on a plane football. It's literally just focusing on where i'm at right now and just being excited even like play the game and it sounds a. I'm listening to myself. Now if i if. I was a viewer listening to me right now. I would immediately changed the dumbest ds. I've ever heard some owners like legitimately real but that's just so great to play the again and it's amazing to realize this because a lot of these guys man allows guys come play get hurt or doesn't work out for them because off the field issues or whatever and then they wake up five years later and they can't pay the game anymore and they're like man what an opportunity missed kind of realize that in the middle. My career is Is just. I'm just super grateful. Super lucky i got a great family. And they've definitely been amazingly supportive for the whole thing taylor one. You shouldn't think another second about what you just said seriously. I think fans here what you just had to say. Taylor be and and love it and part of the reason. Why is we fans want to hear from the guys we root for and are are playing for the team that we root for we want to hear from them. It means just as much to them as it does to us. You know like that's a fact and sometimes you feel like it doesn't mean that much to the people that were rooting for and it must be incredible for you to get back out there and look at the freaks of nature that are on your offense that you're protecting your quarterback go find or blow in the holes open for for derrick henry mm-hmm aj brown and now obviously julio jones. You gotta good. Julio story for me like where he's just shown up and he's done something you're like okay. I got it anything like that. I don't have anything like that. I would say his presence as an individual is definitely way different than most superstars. I've been around in my career. He's it's a. It's a calmer confidence. It's not a like over the top. I'm this. I'm that like dude like he doesn't say a whole lot but when he speaks. It's like oh it's the whole room could be out of it when arguing about a bunch of stuff like classic locker rooms can be. Yeah and he'll just start talking quiet. It's like okay what's really gotta say. It's wild out his his presence. You know what he's done this career how he talks. And when you when you sit down and talk to him for ten fifteen minutes you realize why. He's a player that he was he has all the time in the world but he said the mindset to go with it and a lotta times the way he and i bonded at blocking right. He's he. he knows. I'm not gonna know anything over crow route or a poster. I dunno none of that. He talks about you. Know digging out safeties and the way. He likes to play in the run game. It's an fires you up your twelve guy and the way that fee just operating handle themselves either. Do you really wanna root for so. I'm a huge. Julio jones and i was watching the distance obviously i mean atlanta's four hours away but totally different division. You know in the nfc thing about much but for me like you always know who was and now he's on. Our team is just watching the way he operates like no. There's no wonder why this guy's a first down hole or the way he handled himself on a day-to-day basis like he's confident. But he's just he just you can just tell you handles himself the right way. It seems to be I love that story about in the locker room. Derrick henry wha what's i mean what is it like to be his team mate and also no. You're responsible for anchoring Align that that somebody could break the record behind this year based on what we saw last year. Now you gotta seventeen came in and all that stuff you know. Derek is I love derek person with their a teammate. Like that's my dude like it's not just on the field but off the field as well My favorite thing about derek. And and also the thing that pisses me off the most about derek. Guests is if you're in a game and you say i miss the ball. Let's say i don't have my hat in the right place. And i let a pf l. is not like that..

"Thanks to tom. Brady and to particularly a shout out to nelson louise the vice president of communications with the with the bucks. I've been talking to him for a while about trying to get brady. And and he was very helpful in it and i really appreciate him His work and making so many people available to me when when i was in tampa for just a day last week. So let's move on to our interview with bruce arians. I enjoyed this conversation. Because i think it gives you a little bit of a feel of how arians is going to approach this year and just how different it is this year from last year. Here's bruce arians. With bruce arians the head coach of the super bowl champion. Tampa bay buccaneers. I have to ask you. Has your life changed now. You've won super bowl. You've coached a super bowl winner. Never gets old brother being introduced as that never gets old but You know finally after the ring ceremony we could put last year to bed and and get this team focused on this year job and put it in review mirror but Yeah that that part never gets you know. It was almost exactly ten years ago a decade ago. That you've got either depending on how you term it either fired or not renewed by the pittsburgh steelers and part of you thought. Well that's it. You're riding off into the sunset. And i wonder could you have ever imagined a that. You were going to coach another ten years and be that this would have happened. No not a million years You know One storybook book year change dollar lives. You know chuck's phone call to come to india ghana in the colts. Yeah he makes that call. We go to indianapolis and You know we're driving the road and my wife looks at the phone show. Shit you're gonna take this job. Wait till to see what he's got a but When when chuck got leukemia and got sick and they got an opportunity to to take over. It opened up all those doors that we're never going to open. And i knew they were never gonna open and it's a shame that took chuck to get sick for to happen but Life is funny man. It takes some crazy turn sometimes but just two more questions about you. That really interest me. Remember at that time even after you had the coach of the year season in indianapolis the only interim coach ever to do so. You still go through the first seven jobs of that postseason without getting a sniff. Seven jobs get filled. The only job left is the arizona cardinals and luckily you get that job but just imagine if they hire somebody else maybe. Maybe you're never head coach. Oh i i doubt i ever would have been you know. I took the chicago interview first. And then came back and really wasn't even going to take the arizona one because kenny wizard. How and russ grimm and kevin spencer those guys while went on super bowl within pittsburgh and i would have to let some of those guys go. We're good friends inside. I called kenney said bro. i don't know if i can take this interview. And he really talk me into take an interview while so let's go to the present tense now. You and your general manager jason. Light have brought everybody of great importance back to this team. The coaches are backed front offices back. Probably you're twenty five. Most important players are all back to me. That seems almost a blessing and a curse. Because you don't have a lot of new blood here. How has it been so far for you. Spent fantastic jason mike greenberg. jackie davison. Just did an unbelievable job of getting everybody back. And we're very fortunate with the hiring process happened before the super bowl. There's no doubt my mind had to hiring process happened. After the coaches for coaches have lost tight end byron and You also have your coaching staff. We even have staff meetings. We've been together so long. Everybody knows what to do where to go. How to do it and Coach coaches is harder than and players. And so as i have them back. Have all the players back to top twenty five to thirty guys. Then i thought we'd jason just hit a home run with the draft and the influx of new young guys that are gonna make big impacts on this football team and giovanni bernard talk about his impact early. Yeah was one of the guys really targeted in free agency. And it was a great interest on his part. Great interest on our part in a veteran back. That's solid pro person and fight football player. But he gives us a pass catching guy out of the backfield. That's been there and done it. And he's been a blessing in a lot of ways because of his preparation. He's one of those meticulous preparing guys. Nothing's going to surprise him in a ballgame Younger players are there any. Is there a downside at all to bring everybody back the whole idea. Maybe some people are complacent. Now i think with with the everybody's think thought would be complacency would be the problem. And you know. I gave all the veterans the entire spring off and We brought in forty five young players looking for about ten fifteen spots and mostly were special teams. So we spent the entire. Ota's with them. Then we brought the vets in for the mandatory mini camp. When you have dante david in. And i'll even throw devon young as years but devon white devon jason pierre paul shag dominance all the leaders. We have on defense. There's no complacency but the competition between our offense in our defense is relentless every day. Because they're both really top five in their Rain ranking so they wanna win every day and with brady on offense. They're not gonna be any complacency. I promise you what's brady lake in year. Two with the bucks it's night and day. I mean he knows how to get to work first of all. He knows where where to stop where to get groceries. All those things that that that affect your life but the terminology it just flows now. He seemed pictures in his brain when he calls the play. He knows the picture in his brain last year was just a bunch of words. What the hell's at me all the way up to by week nine It was it was just a learning process. Us learning him how to make him. Comfortable byron did just unbelievable job. I get way too much credit for anything that happens offensively. It's all byron and So now he can be more vocal he can even a better leader Because he'd really knows what the hell he's doing. You know what. I really remember about being here last year. Exactly one month before your first game of the season to give people an example of how difficult it was last year exactly one month. I saw the first practice where he huddled with his offense. Imagine you don't you don't get in a huddle with your teammates because a cova because of all the restrictions until thirty days.

"Story will bring back in. Involves these relationships in the nfl between coaching quarterback that we've talked about several times when you have that you know you got something special when the coach and the quarterback are on the same page when they kind of have that unity. You saw what. What tom brady. And bruce arians able to do right away You obviously see what you have in kansas. City greg's andy. Reid patrick mahomes these. These duos are very important. We thought maybe. Sean mcvay jared goff where we're going to be that power couple. They did get to a super bowl but then things broke up pretty quickly there. And sean mcvay is this guy that clearly is the excitable one out of the two right is that goes without saying so mcveigh. Listen to how he talks about how he feels about now having matthew stafford at his as his quarterback and he did this during a press conference to promote the super bowl in. La in the rams head coach. Let's just say gushed very heavy. Thank you seem like you're in a better mood aussies. You're damn right. I am so this guy He's a special guy. One of the best ways that i can describe him when you hear people that have been around him. There's a there's a known confidence where it when he walks into a room noah's field presence but he's got a great humility about himself at. Everybody loves being around him and he's one of those guys that is it true igniter makes everybody around him better. I feel like i can come up better. Coaching a few months that we've been able to spend together and we're looking forward to get things together. Sounds pretty excited about this new relationship. "Relationship with Bruce Arians, you know, I don't know what they're gonna have going. You know for next season, But if I'm a part of it if I if they want me to be a part of it, I'll be a part of it for sure, because I'm definitely trying to. Adam told me to mind my resume. Oh boy, A P, The latest veteran ago Ring chase in and try to jump on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers bandwagon. It's pretty amazing that Adrian Peterson is still even effective. He's 35 years old. Let's face it. He has a lot of blows on that body, and that's a guy that took a lot of shots and most running back to do But because he was so big ran so upright, he took a lot of punishment. If you look at the last three seasons his age 33 season in Washington had over 1000 yards his age 34 season in Washington had 900 yards and five touchdowns. And last year despite being released by Washington, landed with Detroit and started 10 games and ran for 600 yards in seven touchdowns at 35. He'll be 36 that season. Frank Gore has proven that 34 doesn't mean that you have to retire from running back of the NFL. You can keep plowing through. And so that's what Adrian Peterson's gonna Diogo And so let's see the off season. What veterans want to latch on to the bucket ears? It's gonna be the new over the Hill Gang. Can Tampa Bay Win A Second Straight Super Bowl

"Well in just his first season with the team brady has already brought a title to tampa buccaneers controlled. Much of last night's thirty one to nine super bowl win and brady is poised to keep winning saying after the game quote. We're coming back. You know that we do know it. And i personally love it shared. And how do you feel about is brady. Started his second dynasty in tampa skip out of his tour to detail. And if you made me say yes to say no. There's a reason why no team had repeated and sixteen years because it's hard to do and you see. Injuries are big part of this. So because we saw what happened to chiefs offensive line. They lose basically three starters and they're not the same team that they took to the super bowl the previous year. They're not even the same super bowl that would that finish the afc championship game. So injuries player key role in And plus a lot of things have to go well the injuries during the course of the season. I don't believe the pandemic. I think we're getting more and more vaccines arm and President biden was talking about last night. Say i expect the pike house for super bowl fifty six. Hopefully that's the case. Where is so fi here. Oh you're be out. I thought i'd be right over luma and plus get if you think about it. They got shack bags. A free agent. Labonte david i believe. They bite price themselves out of contracts tampa although they might be willing to take less money to come back to people. It's with jack man. Considering that he was an undrafted free agent and leave any money on the table of. Aren't they david that might be something dominant. So leonard fournette and tonio brown gronk. I believe a couple of those guys you can get back on the cheap but skipped the only have thirty guys on the contract for next year. The next is a that is forty two in the nfl their fifty three man roster only thirty the contract So who comes. Who goes is so hard to repeat because the turnover is so great now what we know right now for the most part. All the coaches are coming back. Tob old didn't get a job by relent. We didn't get a job and so for what we can see right. Now get the coaching staff. We'll be back in full. There was some speculation. That bruce arians if they won this one would would see the the head coaching to talk balls and maybe either being the background or walk into the sunset. I think this was such a headache experience for him at his age. He'd say i gotta take another shot. Hey could you remember. Meal did that and he later regretted he came. Back out of retirement ended up coaching kansas city. Yeah because he felt he made a decision out of emotion. That was the wrong decision. So maybe a fist back a couple of months but it's hard to repeat. There's a reason why there have only been in an full of teams now in the last thirty years. That's ever done it because it's so hard to cobb was dated. We did it and the patriots did it.

The GOAT Whisperer: The Man Who Lured Tom Brady To Tampa

"So greg first question. Where are you right now. I have met the media center for the super bowl which is in the tampa convention center. Kinda for all that around downtown tampa but is not quite busy here yet. So it's a little bit still kind of thought out. I'm sure in in forty eight hours. It'll be crazy here. Well greg sunday will be the first time that a super bowl is played in the home city of one of the two competing teams. What is the feeling in tampa right now. In the up to the game as you walk around drive around you feel a super bowl frenzy even in this pandemic couple days city is enjoying a run like it's never had. He had the stanley cup at world series in october. God and now. I think just making the boy. I would have been a big step for this team but see them win. Three road playoff games. And now be as you said in a super bowl in their own stadium. It's been a wild six months for tampa or to be sure we wanted to pick your brain a little bit about the guy who many people credit with building this bucks super bowl team. Gm jason light when he joined the bucks seven years ago. This team was more or less in disarray. How has he rebuilt it. I think he's done a very good job of drafting three touchdown. She'll back to this. First draft is fourteen. Taking mike evans been a pro bowl. Receiver has reset all the receiving records already. Big exclamation shows tied his own tampa bay record with his wealth reception for a touchdown this year. Tom brady just set the new fifteen two starting offensive linemen and their left tackle donovan smith and they're left guard alley pat and then really you look at the last three draft. That's defense has come. I think they have seven. Vincent starters that are from the last three drafts talent collectors. Were finding the right fifth buildings championship team. There's a veteran presence traded for jason pierre paul from the giants and hit on him and consumers thirty four and still a very high level the this is a good mix of young. It's really worth well. Even jason light was putting pieces into place. And you know sort of building the backbone of this team. This team wasn't doing particularly well and nfl. Owners of course are not known for their patients. So why did. The buccaneers stick with light. Even as this team continued to miss the playoffs year after year after year you go back to the end two thousand eighteen and then made the decision to fire dirk cutter coach dirk cutter. He is now officially relieved of his duties by the team. And in this statement. The buccaneers say that gm jason light will lead the new search. So that means light will get. I think in most situations they probably would have moved on from jason light his gm as well. He did really well in that he kind of pulled out an important card. And was there gateway to getting bruce arians. I gotta say jason's main reason. I came back in coaching and i knew how good of an evaluator was having worked with him. And we say we share the same vision workers in arizona in twenty thirteen adding when it came time for the bucks to be looking for a head coach. He kind of got them. In with bruce arians gave the bucks somebody that he knew and trusted. Having a head coach bruce. And the relationship that i have with him is it. I don't know if we'll ever be repeated. He's just such a unique guy. We have such a unique strong bond. That we we get along well. We even argue

"Their feelings when you say that because they don't want you to tell the truth. They want you to make it seem like it's All time on the field is Tom in the locker room. It's what he brings to the table. I couldn't agree with more on the defense. The wild card game against Washington football team was one on defense. The NFC championship game was won on defense. Brady threw three second half interceptions. I'll give you what he did against Drew Brees. So it seems obvious. I'm with J. And with key that clearly, it seems like the most credit goes to Tom Brady. So I challenge anybody to call us and ate and ate, say ESPN or Key. Jay Z on Twitter. And give us someone else. Calvin in San Antonio is hopped on the Goodyear Hotline. Calvin in San Antonio, who deserves the most credit for the Buccaneers, making it to Super Bowl 55 in Tampa. Morning, gentlemen. As much as I want to say Brady as trust me, I do because I'm a Brady fan, and I believe he's the goat hands down. I'd like to been dropping, say Bruce areas because it was Bruce areas who allowed Brady to change some of the things in the offense for the second half. Know that hey, could be comfortable and do what he's doing now he could have easily made it a power struggle and in the middle of the season, you guys thought that place wasn't all that great And that was when they were still trying to figure it out until Bruce Arians allowed Brady to do what he does. He's right about that. And when he got to the buy Bruce Arians and whatever they started communicating and environs, Leftwich and put in some things that Brady did well up in New England. Brady felt good about throughout the course of the week, but Bruce Arians in in The rest of, uh, the organization. The general manager like they all kind of figured out. Let's get brave. Let's get drunk bringing Maybe he's not gonna be a distraction. There's there's Linda for net. We got something in the running balance running game. So when you start to look at that That insurance policy was huge for Gronkowski because O. J. Howard got hurt in the beginning of the year, So you start to look at all the way they assemble things and put things together. They went out and drafted Antoine Winfield junior Would it obviously playing in the Green Bay game, but he was an important part of what they did down the stretch. Defensive wise, um You know, it's Everybody gets some credit, and we don't give a lot of it to Brady. There's no question about it, but everybody gets some credit and they were real quick. I just want to get by and left with some credit here to the more and more I watch their offense. Now it seems As if Tom Brady is back on the Patriots with the way they play. I mean, they've been running the ball lot more, which gives him way more optionality. At the beginning of the year. They were very one dimensional team were tomboys, dropping back and throwing 30 times per game. And now to see how much this offense has transformed and evolved. It seems like Tom is way more comfortable with this stylistic, a form of how they're playing. Yeah, that's a great point. I never want to root against a guy getting a job, but in this particular case, hear me out. I actually do believe it's really good that Byron Leftwich too. Not get the job. It marshal his alma mater. He is a legend. There. He was up to the position. It went to Charles offers a great recruiter Alabama all the way through. But that allows Byron to stay in the mix. For NFL head coaching jobs. You know how difficult it is for legends to stay away from there all my mater, but that job is filled and hopefully maybe a year from now Byron will be an NFL head coach. He outduels Patrick Holmes on offense. The chances are pretty good on the way. It's one of the biggest brands in all of sports. And they are a big make it huge that key. I never say this about you. They're a huge disaster. Who are we talking about? That's after Keith. Now it is you after he has this from Here we go here. Well, 100 flowers. Here we go. Should the Patriots replace Cam Newton with Jarrett Stidham?

"Think this is where we need to start because it's where everybody is starting when we talk about the Patriots and where we're at with Cam Newton right now in terms of the Patriots quarterback of the here-and-now home and also maybe even looking Beyond here and now to the 2021 season even and here in New England you turn on Boston sports radio, and I'm not trying to pick on those guys, but there are definitely talking a lot about Jarrett Stidham and the possibility of benching Cam Newton for Jarrett Stidham. I think they're crazy. But that that's a topic for another day. Mostly I want to focus on what are your opinions right knee about how cam is playing and how he can obviously improve from objectively. What was a very bad game on Sunday against the Cardinals whether you're a chemist and or a cam hater. Yeah, and it wasn't dead. A game against Arizona and Arizona. First of all, I think you have to remember that Arizona's defense is a lot different than Houston's defense. It's a lot different than Seattle's defense back in week to that Houston game. That's you know game those were two games with Jim actually got the passing game going and you felt hey maybe they could put together a passing game that could actually be effective Arizona see on their athletic. They fly all over the place Isaiah Simmons budda Baker. Like they have guys that can play they have some different things and they certainly they were putting an egg nine guys in the box of times. I'm sure having you saw that as well. I know you have from some of the work you've done they were basically dare in New England like go ahead. S game by throwing the football and it looked like they couldn't, you know, they got a couple breaks at the end with a missed field-goal and Isaiah Simmons penalty then put them in position to win, but they didn't win that game because of the passing game, but you know, that often said, I think we all have to sort of take a step back and realize a couple of things one. You mentioned I studied quarterbacks. Each week at USA Today. I have to do what we call a QB camp where I put up five of my quarterback videos of the most notable quarterback performances. There are some weeks friends. It's hard to find five good quarterback package, which is league-wide It's just tough. This is one of those weeks like you might get Baker Mayfield than that because there's just not great quarterback players Patriots fans were spoiled from two decades of Tom Brady where we took the best at the quarterback position weekend and week out but then when you take a step back and you don't have that and you see guys like, you know, Derek Carr and his high variance play or Baker Mayfield in his high variance player. Look at Carson waves, I mean talk about somebody that's regressed. He's regressed all the way back to his senior year at North Dakota State quarterback plays tough. And right now we have a quarterback. That's high variance. Well, that's one thing. I think we need to remember the other is this he came in late in a strange year in the midst of a pandemic with no training camp more minimal training camp. No minicamps. No OTAs, no prestige. James be tough complicated offense to run that has so many different moving parts. You've read The Playbook, you know, Evan every road has like six different variations. I'm trying to do is hard. There are some play books that are easy. It's like oh, yes, this makes sense Bruce Arians Playbook. It's kind of easy. Nothing really changes Josh McDaniels doing the Patriots Playbook. It's like quantum physics for me. Like I I can't figure it out. And so to try to do that in the midst of all this is difficult. So with that context, I think you know, if you want to get into the home Jared versus cam debate. I don't really think there is one because as you pointed out this week on Twitter Bill Belichick has seen Jarrett Stidham now for almost two years. He's seen him every day in practice if Jake was going to be the answer to what fixed to what else is Patriots passing game. Yes, he would play him but he's not so that tells you what you need to know about Jackson them. I was on Jarrett Stidham home. Right before they signed Camp. I remember I wrote the peace and said look Jack said it was a planet quarterback everybody and I'm so glad I snuck in at the ad. Well, look if they could get can do it for cheap short not be great. But Jarod said it was a planet like two weeks later. I signed Cam Newton Cam right now gives them the best chance to win games. Is it through the passing game most weeks? Probably not, you know this week might be a get right opportunity. But if I you know, if for the 2021 season, I still think canvas done enough to earn the chance to win this job with a full complement of training camp preseason, all that stuff of the engine needs to get better at Short of the mechanics break. Absolutely not do they matter. Sometimes they actually do but right now he's the best shot they've got week in and week out to win games.
