The transportation activists who have been working to get extra lanes built on the beltway and I two 7 to get Maryland have just been dealt a major setback. The toll lanes project has been backed by Marilyn governor Larry Hogan, but now the decision will rest with the next governor Wes Moore and two other top state Democrats. That's because the Maryland Department of Transportation now says it will not seek approval of a multi-billion dollar contract to build the toll lanes until late winter after Hogan has left office, Moore has said he would like to see changes to the project. Montgomery county executive Mark elrich is weighing in again calling the project as currently designed critically flawed and overly expensive and saying a new generation of leadership should vote on it. John Aaron WTO P news. Well, after announcing last month it lost $40 million in revenue this year alone because a fair evasion, metro is testing some strategies to crack down on gate jumpers. One new approach, changing the shape of fare gates to make a tougher for people to jump over them. But metro's new general manager Randy Clark cautions, there is no perfect fix. And other gate systems may do things that prevent people from jumping, but they actually may encourage people to do piggybacking. And so there is never a perfect game. It aims to make a stretch of roadway safer for cyclists after two were struck and killed in the last three years Construction begins on a new phase that I'll take one lane in each direction of old Georgetown road and turn it into a bicycle lane between the beltway and Nicholson lane and the two existing lanes in each direction will become more narrow. The new bicycle lanes will be marked with flex post and green pavement markings, expect single link, closures, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and then multiple enclosures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings. Maryland Department of Transportation says about 40,000 vehicles a day travel on old Georgetown road. And in Bethesda this morning, if you're driving there, one road will begin to see traffic changes there, part of a pilot program to see if the county can install a park parallel to that stretch of road. Little falls Parkway has already been reduced to two lanes with the meeting in the middle on the mile or so between river and Arlington road, starting today they'll actually ship both those lanes east of the median, currently used for northbound traffic, that median will then separate a new park between Arlington and Dorset, county hopes that the pilot park will be used for biking, walking, and even host events, and that park should wrap up by spring, Montgomery parks will then gather feedback from residents and study how it affects traffic

It's believed an aid to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows will testify. Cassidy Hutchinson has already been interviewed by the committee behind closed doors, video clips from her deposition have been featured by the panel during earlier hearings. Hutchinson has long been considered one of the committee's most consequential witnesses because of her proximity to former president Trump's then White House chief of staff. At least 46 people have been found dead inside a tractor trailer in a presumed migrant smuggling attempt in South Texas. The Associated Press has reporting at least 16 others in the truck were taken to hospitals in the San Antonio San Antonio area with heat related illness. Of those hospitalized 12 were adults for our children, fire chief Charles hood says the patients were hot to the touch and dehydrated and no water was found in the trailer. Three people were taken into custody, the investigation is being led by Homeland Security investigations. Three people were killed and more than 40 taken to hospitals after a Los Angeles to Chicago Amtrak train hit a dumb truck into railed in a northern Missouri cornfield yesterday. Office of Justin Dunn with the Missouri state highway patrol confirmed 7 cars of that train derailed. In a wide ranging story detailed by the Washington Post 15 women who previously worked for the Washington Redskins, alleged sexual harassment and verbal abuse by former scouts and members of owner Daniel Snyder's inner circle. 15 women accuse former Redskins employees of harassment
"A bombshell report on Washington's NFL team. More than a dozen women who used to work there say they were sexually harassed and verbally abused. W T. Opie's Mike Murillo has the story. 15 former female employees tell The Washington Post that between 2006 and 2019 they were sexually harassed and verbally abused by team employees. And little was done about it, claiming some incidents were even Condoned by top executives. Some of the allegations were against Larry Michael, the voice of the Redskins, who was accused of making derogatory comments about women. He announced his retirement on Wednesday and didn't comment on the allegations. Alex Santos, the club's former director of pro personnel, was accused by six women and two reporters of making inappropriate comments about their bodies. Richard Man, the second former assistant director of pro personnel, was accused of sending inappropriate text to a staffer who says he told her to expect an inappropriate hug. Santos and man were fired this week. None of the employees filed formal complaints, according to the post. There are no accusations against team owner Dan Snyder. win again when I was talking to the fans here during the the first half of the day for the first practice they were all raving about the draft and do something about this draft in particular that has given so much hope and excitement to the fans odd that talk about your draft talk about the strategy that you have there and who you really look I mean obviously you want all of them to to start eventually but who are you really looking after this season from at twelve each day is very important for the young players and and any new player that comes in to to the red skins or any team because between who the best body is in any way once again you're not station but Chris Thompson's been such a valuable asset for us on third down and out of the backfield but getting various guys back yeah watching the compile competition for them I was injured right around this time like third day of training camp last one of the first preseason game against overstressed hatred and that and and awful
