"The debut of a new ranger was spoiled by a pair of old ones as the senators earned a 5 three win at Madison Square Garden. What Would the 12-Team College Football Playoff Landscape Look Like
"I rob we talked a few. I get it now. I think it was a few months ago at this point about the playoff expansion in college football and at that time it really seemed like the twelve team playoffs was was coming and they have momentum in you know everybody seem or most people seem like they were for at least the people on the committee and it seemed like that was going to be the next phase of college football and now it is being put on hold and very much in jeopardy and as much as i'm for and you know this. I'm for the playoff expansion for the twelve team playoff. But i understand why it's a whole and that's because oklahoma and texas are about to leave the big twelve suit and it. Looks like the sec. Are they creating some type of super conference. And then will you know the pac twelve and the big ten like some of these other big conferences. That are left out. I mean rob. There are people that think we could end up with two. Maybe three super conferences like a almost like a. You know the first division is. maybe. I don't know forty fifty teams because let's face it that's really what it is anyway. Well but forty fifty teams at the top level. Almost like the nfl. So i think with autism. Flux i don't think you can is the to twelve at this point you gotta see the conference play out. I in my opinion. I also think there's distrust amongst these guys like trying to get out because of what's happened chris. Like people sneaking out of their conference in the middle of the night right leaving the other the other ones in the learning tracks in in in effect you know like like like some of them of affected. The tv contracts right out of schools pulled out and then that gives a clause to espn. Or fox's say wait a minute no no no. We didn't sign up for this without these teams. Not grade list to be on here c. p. threes teams have had multi game series leads four times in the post season. Only to watch those leads. Slip away. Chris broussard what is on the line night in game. Six for chris paul. There's a lot on the line and obviously the championship but for him personally of is individual legacy yes. There is a lot on the line he would become. If they lose this series he would become the only player to lose four series in the postseason. Where you lead to. Oh okay anna. Point guard is in control of the game of his team. So a lot of that just falls on the coach. It can fall on the point guard. So we've talked about some christmas failures in the past and the postseason if he loses this series those become their a big part of his story. We're talking about right now in terms of injury. Marcus tell us how good is. Chris middleton because look. I think i underestimated him. I think a lot of people underestimating. We don't think of him even when you look at his numbers. I don't think people think of him as a big time star player. I kinda think of how no tell me if this is accurate. College Football Playoff Subcommittee Presents Expansion Ideas
"A group within the college football playoff committee which includes ten football subdivision commissioners plus the notre dame de yes discussed expansion models to the playoff format ranging from six teams all the way up to sixteen teams. You know each with a variety of different possibilities and outcomes either way whether they decide to approve an expansion or not. It won't take place though twenty twenty-five but the fact is they are definitely discussing it for it. I got two words for their expansion of the college. Football playoff the right or they. What's why stop it already. You know what it's always a money grab we'll have sixteen teams because they can make money and they'll still be the same two or three teams that are in the championship. "Want to transition a little bit of nfl because obviously the next big thing on the nfl draft calendar or on the sports counter really is the nfl draft. And it's kind of crazy because there are so many different narratives that are popping up mack. Jones moving updraft boards justin field potentially moving down draft boards. So narratives going on. And so what. I kinda wanna do. That was a new piece of information that came out today. That really leads to an older piece of information from earlier this week that i want your opinion on and so listen. It's draft season. You hear all sorts of crazy stuff but there was a report out a lengthy report from the athletic earlier today which which which interviewed a bunch of anonymous gm's and coaches and stuff like that and so it said in this athletic report. You told me that justin field was going to be better than trevor lawrence and five years. I would say yes that could happen. That was an anonymous. Gm told that to the athletic. And so i thought that quote was kind of interesting in the context of what happened earlier this week with trevor lawrence. I know you and chris touched on it briefly but for the audience. That hasn't fully heard the quotes. I'll read it really quick robin than i want your response but trevor lawrence of course the presumptive number pick. Since the beginning of time no one has ever debated his place as the best player in this draft. He sat down for a pretty lengthy interview with sports illustrated and he said a few different things where he said. It's hard to explain that. Because i want people to know that i'm passionate about what i do and it's really important to me but i don't have the huge chip on my shoulder that everyone's out to get me and i'm trying to prove everybody wrong. If my only goal was to make great pies that would be enough but the title of her bakery. Justice of the pies tells you that her business does so much more in fact like so. Many women owned businesses justice up. The pies has purpose at the center of its strategy. In her case it's a transform the lives of people in her chicago community. So justice at the pies is nationally famous for its incredible pies but you also have a social mission tells about that. Sure suggest is is is an l. Three seat what this means is we are social mission based company and our goal is a positive impact. The lives of will work with us. We consider ourselves to be stores for fairness and equality. So what inspired you to do this. So i actually created the bakery in two thousand and fourteen in memory of me. Authors the bussard. My dad was a criminal defense attorney in his robbie was making is in issues but as an attorney he could have very well it shows to go to any other specialty infield that is more lucrative such as contract law maybe even as a divorce attorney something where he could have made a a largest atler he but he really decided to a criminal defense attorney because he wanted to be able to help people who go up in the same of maitland. His that he grew up in a daegu up in a projects on the west side of chicago in office saw out the criminal. Justice system could sometimes be a little bit Unbalanced when it came to people of color when it came to men so he was very passionate about making sure that people had their fair chance in a fair day in court in that he be there to represent them. Now the issue is it didn't always pay as much you know. We had some financial difficulties when i was gone up as a kid when he was willing to be passionate about using his knowledge in his position to help others. In so justice at the pie not only celebrates his love pies the also honest belief that people deserve second chances so you achieve your mission by question. We went to be used wherever we see. You know. I want to have the flexibility to take up causes that i feel that i can contribute to that amenable to us. So one of our standing initiatives is doing are fighting food insecurities so we activate a workshop. i need love like kneading dough. I need love. Were shot in the workshop. The buys kids who with either lower incomes communities with culinary instruction and nutritional development and teaching them about creativity in the kitchen. The kids are in eight grade in. They are at that point in their lives when they could become a little bit more self sufficient in beating themselves the kiss live in neighborhoods that are typically affected by food apartheid. So that means that there is a fresh grocery store within two of where they live or they've never been to restore before so as part of the workshop. We will take the kids to grocery stores and give them a dollar gift certificate to buy ingredients that will be using in the class but to also teach them about budgeting this is all about. How do we embrace this life skill. How do we cultivate this slice. Feel that is needed in order to be more successful in other areas to be more successful in school so that you could be more successful in life you may be eating food but it's not the healthiest food. It could just be. You know have takis an pop band honey. Bahn's from the corner store or from the data is not something that can really sustain you and keep your energy up throughout the day especially when you're in class in. You're supposed to be very alert in ready to learn.
