"Rumble on the dock and rock around the clock, I was watching that, but I didn't have the money to paint it that way. So I made it a hot rod. As far as I could make it without too much expense. My dad one time his car had to be fixed races. Gary, can I borrow your car? Well, and I said yes. Well, I had at that point split the manifold two and four. It was a six cylinder. Of course you know, and the left Lakes pipe that extended 24 inches. Behind that. See you're dead. Left front tire was very, very loud. And if you didn't know how to feather the gas pedal, it sounded like a diesel. I mean, it was really loud. My dad got a ticket. I was gonna say, I bet you got pulled over. He got pulled over, got a ticket, but he didn't tell me because he wanted me to get a ticket. But I knew how to drive my car. So it wasn't itself much later that he's great, and he told me about. That's a great thing right back to you. It's back to being a kid words. I'm not gonna tell my dad. I got a ticket. You dad saying I'm not gonna tell myself a ticket? That's right. So so you you come. You come from this musical family, and you had mentioned Jerry Lee Lewis is that well, he was a part of my growing up musically, but you more of a musician at this stage, or did you find this desire? Did your parents discovered this hidden talent about singing? Well, No, I did not think of myself as a musician at all. Nobody knew that I could sing. Ah, to go back my mom and dad when we were just a little They would go read of a tape recorder. And on that tape recorder way, Mom and dad and the four of us that existed. Christie was still yet to be born. But we would Give messages to Grandma and Grandpa who were back in Minnesota holidays and just write communication. Like so for those that are too young. We didn't have cell phones. All right, we said tape recordings and we would record messages to Grandma and Grandpa. My folks at one point had me sing Rudolph the red Nosed reindeer. I was eight years old and I just had this little soprano voice way up in the sky. But it was a perfect was surprised. She wakes up good pitch, and my mother said to me one day. I just thought all little boys could sing like you could sing. It was just a natural community. T youthful voices. Yeah, at H s O At any rate, you know they didn't They never encouraged me. Two. Consider music or voice as a profession and wanted me to go into higher education. But still at that point in my life as a teenager, I was very into Elvis on Jerry Lee Lewis and the Everly Brothers. You had family. That was supporting you, because they knew how important music was to having a full life having absolute creative side, not just an academic side, but but another dimension that a lot of families never had the opportunity to have its true and because there was a piano in the house Mom played every day. There was always music in the house. My dad was in barbershop quartets. Wow. So as a 10 year old, for instance, you're hearing harmonies. I'm hearing harmonies that four dads was. One group in the four quarters was another. And they would come to the house to sing and practice because they wanted to do those competitions. You're at the auditory still have things. Oh, sure, yeah. And I was becoming very aware of the harmonies and I would sit in in all basically of these chime ng voices. Well, I'll tell you what, Not only ladies and gentlemen, did he sit and off He was being influenced without maybe not even realizing it. We're gonna take a break. We're gonna continue on this on this journey. How this young voice developed by listening to so many others from rock and roll's the barbershop quartet, and we're gonna We're gonna take this journey to show everybody where this has taken Gary Puckett. It's already the best Christmas ever for seven year old Vivian Lord of Little Rock, Arkansas. But why such glee? Excited over plastic toy soldiers understand you have to go back to the summer of 2019 come in for another shot. It was during one of her brothers air raids that Vivian was struck. Struck by the fact that her army men were all just that men. I noticed that there were no bull army man. No girls. They don't make him my interview from last year. And were you disappointed When you found out there weren't any? I don't know why anybody has not thought of that. So Vivian wrote a letter that read in part. Please. Can you make army girls that look like women? She sent copies to several army men manufacturers, including Jeff Immelt, owner of BMC Toys, and Scranton, Pennsylvania. I've never gotten a letter from a child like that before. But every now and then somebody asked. You have any female toy soldiers? The answer has always been no. Although Jeff told me it was on a list of potential future projects. He even had concept drawings. They weren't in scratches, but they were busy baby boy. Vivian just couldn't understand the injustice and one poor Jeff was faced with those puppy dog eyes, So he's surrendered. I'm gonna do it. You're gonna do it. I'm going to do it. So Vivian put this to the sheep food. She put it to the top of the list easily. Shortly after receiving Vivian's letter, Jeff enlisted the first woman into the vintage plastic military. Today. There are 22 figures in all and this holiday. They will be taking up positions under Christmas trees across the country, And that means a silver has played well from Every day every day. Decisive victory in the battle for equality. Steve Hartman on the road in Little Rock, Arkansas.

"You see, ladies and gentlemen, as I had my glass of wine as we speak, it's only because I'm trying to stay healthy and you just take it for medicinal purposes, And we know that's right. I have a pharmacy with a lot of bottles of wine in it. So let me before we get to the point. How Jerry Lee Lewis influence studio pursue this. Do you have brothers and sisters with two of each okay with a musical as well. They are musical as well. I'm the oldest. Kathy is four years younger. David is seven years younger. Brian is nine years younger and Krissi is a little over 17 years younger than I And we were all encouraged, in fact, required to take music lessons. And in my case, I was sort of required to sit at the piano because that was what we had in the house was. Yeah, no fewer musical. Let's if you had an upright piano in the house. So we have you were on your way way had and Mom became my teacher in the beginning, But then, of course, they kind of farmed me out to people.

International Students On How To Get Trough Holiday Season While Away From Family

"Well, there are more than a million international students living in the U. S. And many of them know what it's like to be away from their families for long periods of time. NPR's Briana Scott spoke to several of those students about how they manage the holiday season. Back in cattle. You ambush Cardona's home country Iran. They obviously don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but she hasn't missed a single one in the last five years. So she's been in the U. S. I'm so happy now that Thanksgiving for me is now another additional celebration. Yes, Karna is a PhD student at American University. She knows how hard it is for American students who can't see their families. That's the whole point of the holiday season getting together, but she hasn't seen her mom or older brother since 2015. I think the best thing that helped me cope with it. It's just the video call. It also helps that she has a strong network of friends in Washington, D. C that she can lean on for support. This cardinal says she knows not Every student has that benefit. Really, I was not. I didn't know what to do. And I was like completely out off everything Please. Venkatesh has had to build community away from home before. He came to America from India five years ago on a 10 Month exchange program, and he quickly found a mentor and his host father. So, when vacant Touch left the U. S after his exchange program and came back this year to attend Mesa Community College again, he was excited that his host father offered his place again. Early in March, his his father passed away after a heart attack like this. Yes, I'm going to really miss my host, Father and I gonna miss the celebration. I still have it. He had to start over find a new home. Ligature says. This, along with the stress of switching to all my classes in the spring has been difficult to manage. So he's been dealing with the stress that way. A lot of us have right. Like Welcome to play soccer. Then actually, I dance so I can put some Bollywood music any calls his family as much as possible. But a little bit of joy. Figured Tess has a new host, father. Nobody like you really like to do it. For that guitar is also from India. He's a student and Michigan Tech University, he said, missing his family more than he thought he would be. The worst part is my sister just had a baby in August. You know that's a big moment, and I was not there to witness it. Oddly enough in our says this pandemic has actually brought him closer to his family despite being over 7000 miles away, my dad has really been a rock like you can just either these sad about it, or you can just take one day at a time and see what

"The with kevin mason. Everyone has had to adjust their thanksgiving plans this year. At least most people have because we've been asked not to travel. We already knew going into things. We weren't going to be traveling this year. We aren't gonna head back to indiana for thanksgiving because we don't want to risk we don't want to be around our nieces and nephews and all the family just in case we could bring with us. So we're hunkering down and we're staying here and getting ready for thanksgiving feast. Although for the two of us. We really don't want to turkey. I mean we could do it but it's not quite the same thing so in my wife asked me what i wanted this year instead of the normal thanksgiving turkey and dressing and cranberry and all. That kind of stuff opted for lasagna. Because really it doesn't matter what you eat. We're not eating the same things that the pilgrims and the indians eight way back when it's all about being thankful for what you have spite of the year in spite of the tough situation we've been in. We still have a lot to be thankful for my health. My wife's health and the fact that all of our relatives my mother my father my father in law. My brother-in-law sister along the whole family have all been safe so far. That's the most important thing something you've thanks for.

"You. It is you. Isn't it immediately start. Doesn't she older when she left out. The green is five years younger than this. Then this woman yeah. I don't think the math checks out that hacker wise neil brain looks like sixty five heat this. I hate this scene because of all the like. They have weird diabetic crowd noise. There's not a crowd of people anywhere like third party. They've party noise in the background. And there's only six people It's really creepy. Do that again at the press conference to play applause after all of his lines. And then they'll cut to of people not clapping stock footage leftover stock footage from here. Now no doubt but anyway so he starts covertly or not so covertly holding hands flirting with this lady's hitting on this lady. Yes in front of his wife and his friend because wife gets distracted because the drunk neighbor is knocking stuff over and then tried to rope her. For some reason she rejects him. And that becomes an important plot point for some reason just to be a lot of red herrings this movie but the entire movie is just like a pile of red herrings all the matters black cube. That's what i'm convinced. So i wrote down. There's a lot going on but not a lot of it makes sense so the next day or another day. He's at he's at work in his study and he sees his like underage teenage neighbor. The his his neighbor's kid offer top in his pool. And she's yeah. Hi neal bream. I forget his name in the movie and he's like oh no he's like oh disgusting anyway. Back to work doesn't throw her out doesn't say anything to her is just like geez. Louise a naked woman trying to seduce me. I'm trying to hack into government. So you daniil brains life right and so. He leaves her in the house. She comes inside an starts taking trying to take a seductive bath or something. I don't know what's going on. But he's like oh honey. You're home for whatever reason the soups since his wife and he goes in there and he has a long talk with their where he asked. Act like this noble dude. Where he's just like i wrote down he so nobly won't fuck his friends. Underage hero hires his actors. Connie i know you want me so bad. You can't keep doing this won't uncomfortable so then we get into the. He tells his wife about this incident. She tells the neighbor the neighbor wife. The blonde is like it's happening. These supposed to be shy. Yeah i'll talk. Door to door toplessness and the saxophone enough and sort of weird and then they throw wine on each other just as she can get wine on her brawlers top so we can see home seen a little so now we get to my favorite scene in the movie. Which is the garage scene. Which is kind of complicated. So let's break it down if we can't so he he's. He's constantly working on his red corvette thing in a ferrari he loves he loves the ferrari and he's costly working out in the garage which is supposed to be like a wedge issue for their marriage which is crazy because he constantly wants to have sex with compete with clearly. His alcoholism is way more of a problem anyway. His wife gets a gun and she comes into the garage. It's like i'm house. Fires once immediately into his head spins had aim kansas game so she kills him then. Her daughter shows up in the room. And goes you killed him. You killed him. And then the axe to him being dead and goes dead. Then they have this weird keystone cops thing where she her flailing daughter. She's prevent. he died and kill him. He killed himself and the gun on his starts telling everyone in the movie that he would sell. Neil breen comes over and cradles dead friend and gets his friends blood all over his space keeps wiping his face with his friends blood. And he's like. I can't believe you've done this. I can't we committed suicide. I can't believe he committed suicide. Like he's really dressing down for this. He's not believe he's obsessed. You're not as obsessed. He's he's upset that this guy did it but like in a way. It's like over my house of cards. Says that's not like him at all. Please dead he'd done literally day. What do you mean. It's not like so that. The white neil breen wife is like a sensei rebuked him for him trying to grope me at the pool party. I'm the one who drove him to suicide. They amis which is what she saw. And that's why he gropes her at the party because she thinks that since she rejected him which was a right to do that. So but for some reason they all believe this lie immediately and even even the wife who shot him seems to be like one hundred percent. There's no investigation or anything like the trajectories or anything here. No one's searched for fingerprints. And i'm just like why don't they just like. Hold the orb to solve these problems. The orb is all the magic black cube. You sound like you sound. Like neil breen. Yeah i know. I wish so he keeps. You know like we said Flashing back or forward or teleporting mentally trash bag room and there's a naked woman in there with him and i guess later we learned. That's the doctor. Who was like his childhood friend. I don't think it doesn't really look. It doesn't look like the same lady doesn't at first it didn't i because it looks like she had shorter hair the beginning bud then later in the movie they cut between the two of them. And i think it's supposed to be heard but isn't her. As i don't know if i could the other lady might be the the the big titty murderer lady. I don't know how to put the neighbor. Should learn these characters. Aides say the neighbor. You didn't have to say. I'm sorry we keep watching movies and it affects me emotionally. It's a hard titi to hawaii. Talk okay so basically. I was really impressed at one point. The neil breen decided to break cinematic convention and put an establishing shot mid scene. He he's like we're inside his therapist office and then we cut to outside the building and then the door telepaths back the office. I'm like oh you do that at the it was like re- like literally a bad cut. The in the movie just kept.

"The same movie as i am here now for some reason way better and i enjoyed it. You enjoy it. I really really wasn't. There was no twelve minute long shots of the same thing that seemed like it. See pay better than i am here now. This first or i think. I believe i am here. Now is prior to this. I mean i doubt they tried after in fateful findings is get. I mean. this movie looks a lot better than i am here. Now it looks better fisher like a real movie. It's closer to tommy with so's the room in a lot of race. That's what that's what it felt like it. It's god awful. It is trash. I was entertained pretty much the whole time. So that's that's a plus i eats it's pushed. It's way up to be my third favorite bad movie that i've seen of all time. So i i. I'm you know isn't the ones that we've seen have made the cut up until this. Oh my other two are. This is number three number. Two is miami connection which. I love very dearly. We'll do that for our upcoming live episodes where we go to your town and bring covert with us. And in fact every person it's going to be upset cova carnival code kissing booth and also a sneezing enriching. But it's it's a terrible idea it's brought to you by elon. Musk sponsored the whole thing. So if you have any problems you gotta make gotta by tesla. Go on twitter and complain right now. But we're making that money son and if you'd like to give more money by a mug it's holiday season by those mugs on bunker pursued giving giving but after. That is breen's friday okay. That's all. I'm saying so weird so weird so if you don't know neil breen he's kind of what i previously described as a shriveled up version of i always forget the guy's name richard gere so he's kind of a shriveled up year ask fig. That's like because richard gere's shriveled so he's to be more shrivel. Richard gears really. Imagine you replaced all richard gere's faith in himself actually know he has the same. He has more faith. Himself than richard richard gere. Please jesus place buddhism with himself in the mirror. And that's this. Is richard gere so he writes his own movies. He stars in them. He's like kevin smith only with no sense of humor. I can't tell if it's supposed to be funny. It's one of those things. He's either the funniest person in the history of the world. Either tim and eric combined eric andrei or he is completely his own. And it's hard to tell which is which guy in the world he's just but he's also the best guy in the world because he bakes these like incredibly passionate love letters to himself his beliefs. That ended up being very very entertaining for me. Least so i guess there's no way somebody that much of a narcissist i don't he's just i don't think there's no way today. He's just just what you got yourself into this. Same spiral during i'm here now. You're like he's dotted. Job you have to throw has been here now. Felt more like a joke than this movie. Which has such a frenetic. I i hate to say frenetic pace but if you're actually trying to pay if you if you just write off everything in this movie as okay. That's stupid that's nonsense. Whatever and try to actively not make sense of it like nothing is happening and it's all bullshit but if you watch it the way i did just now and pay very way too. Close attention to all the plotlines of all the mystical nonsense going on. Because when i think of this movie. I don't i think of the iconic garage scene which is one of the best in also the iconic press conference seen at the end. Oh man so so. We'll get to that. We'll get to that. But i forgot there was a whole mystical magical spirit. Holy spirit thing. I don't know what it is. I still don't but it all centers around this old book and this black cube even though it's not really a cube looks like more like a decade around or something but let's start off with the plot of this so we start. The movie begins in a beautiful storage center and zoom in down this hallway on this old old book on a table. Then oh yeah we go to a field where a some kids are having a very very magical day if you weren't sure if it was a magical day or not say it's a magical day enough time. Imagine it's important to her diary as a plot point later so they're walking by a scholar goat skull and it slowly turns to move to show the audience. Something's not quite right here. Man something magical it's gonna. It's a magical day so they find a solitary mushroom living in of its free will in the way that only a mushroom can trust the fungus hashtag super mario whereas movie and this is actually another movie where they will do literally trust the fungus and so they're looking at this mushroom and becomes a satchel and inside the satchel is a small gold box and the box is some jewels and the black cube. The very black hugh that will someday you know. Bring them both together. Baby neil brain. His baby love baby. Love is that right I don't think i should have said that's a ninety day fiance's okay i'll take your word for it anyway. So they find this buried treasure. Even though it's sort of just sitting out in the open they referred to it as buried treasure then they re buried the treasurer and it becomes a mushroom again right and then we cut to kneel bring is still kid at this point and he's watching his like also a kid girlfriend being taken away by her parents slowly driven away. Very slowly parry long time. Let's lowly waving out the window. The movie mother. Not in a hurry. They're they don't need. They don't start work for a while. So we cut to neil breen in all his handsome glory And he's using his flip phone which is very important in this movie. He's got his flip with the keyboard out and he's he's on the phone and then he stops to look at it in the middle of the street or he drops it and he gets just fucking creamed by this car. Actually seen actually look good. Our i was like that's why you can tell this is clearly a prestige picture made after the success of i here now got one shot. Because he wouldn't have been able to afford a shot of him getting creamed by a car and it looked better possible. It's possibly just did his own stunt and he actually got hit by accounts. You had the gorilla to rip off so many women shirts later in this movie. If that was true true and syrup it looks great when he gets hit by a car. Not just because you're like finally meal breeds getting hit by a car. he's dead. Thank god the movies over I will say that my first time doing this movie. I was to mesmerized. This time drew. Excel Esports CEO Wouter Sleijffers on the Org's New Rebrand

"About slavers off the CEO of excel in sports, which is a british-based Competitive Gaming organization, which started out in 2014 by the Brothers Johnson clears. HomeStar be I joined myself at the start of this year previously to excel in sports. I will see you go for another Volkswagen ization in in Britain called fanatic. Um, so was there a CEO for 2015 and too early two thousand and nineteen thousand. Yeah, happy to continue my journey in the world of Competitive Gaming. Absolutely Valerie is what are the leading Minds in the E Sports World as God. He mentioned x l e Sports in the UK is going through a bit of a Rebrand right now last week. They announced their new brand new should have focused on the power of better. And the goal is to have a positive effect on the gaming community and to evolve the brand Beyond a competitive team or two, but they do of course focus on their competitive teams. They have a spot in the LEC one of the most coveted spots in all of these four years. As well as a top fortnite player who finished second in the fortnite World Cup Duo's competition back when it was held in 2019. So let's start with the Mantra the power of better words that mean to you. It's really a lot. The power better is something that is, you know, only just full words that summarize the conversations that we had over the past months about how we look at Excel and what we see as the future for Excel what we care about what we passionate about this is first and foremost for us winning off in gaming to compete in the embassy or fortnite another future game titles, but with our own I would say you need a unique approach. It's how we bought a challenge ourselves how we question ourselves how we questioned things in our industry how to being dumb how we call it for Jeron path and how we phrased it also dead. Own Manifesto how we can become better today than we were yesterday and the power better therefore sort of a very short summary, but I would say a really strong men try if you will that drives us to improve every day to get better every day in everything that we do so it's not just how we improve and gain performance how improving supporting our players how improve coaching and strategies Etc. But also how we care about our fans. What can we do for our fans what we do in terms of, you know, things like merchandising and even beyond that so things that we do with our partners are British Telecom is Ali pop out things that we feel are going to develop a stem all in Competitive Gaming Competitive Gaming or how we would say how we use that sort of ambition dog. That have their as an inspiration and all the things that we care about as well to get that everyday really and we'll see the difference. You know over time. This is a journey for us. It's not just you know statement that we make right now and do a few things. This is things that we will be doing in the days to calm the weeks to come a month and even Year's income. So as you hear from it means quite a lot to us, but it's also a way for us to make a difference in the industry. So

Trimming Fat and Keeping Muscle

"So our guest. Today as we mentioned is jordan jones. He's back to give us the flip side of the coin so jordan. Welcome back to the show. Thank you so we talked about bulking and our last episode which is really kind of building muscle. And you're going to. You're going to gain some fat when you're doing that too quickly You don't wanna do a too quickly but you do want to Be in a calorie surplus essentially correct. So now we're on the flip side now where you decide all right now. It's time to lean out but still keep that muscle now. I'm assuming this one is a little bit harder to do But first of all. Can you. Just tell because i've always heard this term the finnish world like i'm cutting right now and so can you explain. What does it mean to cut. Everyone has their own. You know saying doesn't matter cutting slimming down losing fat. I use cutting as it's really the only thing ever said it's really just cutting away. If you're going approach were bodybuilders. Say oh i'm cutting phase on prep is really just trying to lose all the fat and then it will be more from what i gain during the bulking phase. Okay okay so that basically so that definition now the muscles can be seen cracked. Okay exactly so you worked months. You know to gain all this muscle. Hey you will get a little a little. Maybe a little chubb during that. That's why most people do typically around wintertime having covered all time. Trade clients sweating jacket on his sucks to see me so during the cutting phase. That's really when you're just trying to lose all the fat that way the most is gonna be a little bit more dominant gonna shallow. Been more if you're doing it correctly. A lot of people like look bigger. You gain weight not actually lost ten pounds. Thanks yeah so it's going to show a lot more. It's it's what march third or fourth or something So you know people are probably gonna start doing the cutting or slimming down. It's the cutting season we're entering. It's already would eighty degrees outside right now in california coming up to new. Oh of course. I feel like the time to start eating your show for the other. Yeah actually my body. I've learned naturally the my body does kick into a more like Exerciser athletic mode about april. Like i will be like a really intensive exercise for about three or four months and generally throughout the summer and i. It's so my goal really in life now is just a stay relatively active during the winter so that i don't go too far with the bulk young But yeah that's really interesting. So can you tell me a little bit about maybe fasting. Do you do fasting when you're trying to cut the fat or when you're in a cutting phase i'm not easily put this. I'm not the biggest Person on fasting and fast for you know to- fourteen six hours. Brother-in-law will sometimes fast for twenty four hours. Wow times a week or doing twenty four people will do it thinking that you know you as much as i want whatever i want in between that window and then i'm not going to eat it all for the sixteen to eighteen hours. Whatever kind of doing really popular right now. And i'm not gonna lie like you know it does work again kind of like the last segment. We do kind of see what works for your body for you. Yeah i'm more of a believer of eating every hours. Keep your metabolism going. Keep your body. Fueled specially during a cutting phase. It's really really tricky to learn how your body's gonna react to things and how you're gonna keep as much muscle while trying to turn down. The fat. that over fasting has more of a longterm effect. When cutting like murph's it's it's also healthier. See normally you. Don't you don't seem to mean or angry. People angry sometimes when i feel like when i've seen people they're like a man. They're grumpy so getting back. Finish balking right now just starting phase pretty new into it's still you got the big jug of water grow chicken broccoli and rice. It's not cooked chicken to save my life talking about this. Yeah this one is two point. Five ounces of white rice. We'll faster i'm digesting is going to spike. Insulin will bit more okay. It's seven ounces of chicken and then six ounces of broccoli interest you do that every bill you would say every couple of hours ladies pretty similar realistically pretty basic. Five or six ingredients go to. Yeah my daily diet Fun food say now and tonight before you go to bed. Hi my diet is First meals five thirty in the morning last meal is supposed to be a roughly ten dude. Nine even on coach. I don't want three or four hours of sleep every night. right right. yeah that's right because you're up early training people yeah

A Conversation between Tara Brach and Elizabeth Lesser

"Elizabeth. We are so delighted to have you with us. Thank you thank you thanks. It's a pleasure thank you. Hello everybody from all over the place. It's lovely to be with you. Yes i wanna jump right in to do your new book because i fall. We get grabbed by the tidal. Cassandra speaks can you just have to come up with that title. Who is cassandra. Let's just start writing with that. Well i've always loved mythology and religious texts. You know. I just love reading whether it's the bible or the koran or the buddhist texts or the hindu texts. I've just always just because humans learn through stories. that's how we learn. So i've been fascinated with stories and i didn't take me long to notice even way back in college that wow most of the books we love. Heroes tales the parables the myths they're written untold by men because back in the day. Ps also a lot now. The storytellers were men. And there's nothing wrong. With the stories. Men tell and the values men tell their stories from but a big swath of humanity was left out of the storytelling so when packing Reading reinterpreting everything. From adam and eve to chinese stories to the greek myths and as i was writing and i was writing about one of the greek town. The tale of cassandra we were in the midst of the metoo movement. Now i know that seems maybe like ancient history. Now we've all been through so much but really it was just like a year and a half ago and one night. I was watching television on. I was watching the televised trial of those young girls who had been molested by their doctor. Dr larry nassar and the judge in rare way of dealing with the trial. First of all allowed it to be televised and allowed one hundred twenty five girls to tell their story in front of the cameras with dr nassar sitting there and for years and years thirty years he'd been at it for years and years. These young women most of whom were olympic athletes had told their mothers had told their parents had told their coaches that college coaches the us olympic team coaches. They've told them that this man had been molesting them but no one believed them. And i was reading the story of cassandra. At the time. Cassandra was a princess. She was the most beautiful princess of the king of troy and troy was an ancient city. That was often at war with greece and she was so beautiful in lowering all the men wanted to marry her including the gods apollo. The son of zeus wanted to marry her. Zeus wanted to marry her and apollo offered her a gift. The gift of being clairvoyant. That she could be able to see into the future. She would see what was going to happen to her family. And her countrymen and her world and she wanted that She's very spiritual person she she wanted to be able to see into understand so she accepted the gift but he neglected to say that she would have to have sex with him right away after she got the gift but she didn't want to and he was furious so as the story goes he spat in her mouth in put a curse on her. Cassandra you will be clervoy int- but no one will believe you. And for years. She saw what was coming. She saw the war. She saw the trojan horse. She saw her brother's all dead. She saw her city in ruins and she would say it but no one would believe her. So as i was watching these young women. I thought they are cassandra's. They are telling their truth their experience but this time they're being believed and i thought that's what i want this book to be about changing the way the old story ends so it doesn't end with women not being heard women not being believed so that we had meant to who knows their inner feminine. So that finally. We respect that part of ourselves so deeply. It's really this part. That i was leading in the meditation and we get so much clout in musculature. That are stories begin to matter an actually change what it means to be human

The Big House Smash Melee & Ultimate online event canceled following Nintendo cease & desist order

"Tournaments in the smash brothers community. Oh that's interesting. I definitely this paragraph definitely starts in the middle on what happened there. Why did that get leader. Kevin what did you do there. I'm pretty sure you really you think it was me. This year's installment of the big house one of the most important tournaments in the smash super smash brothers. He has been shut down by nintendo. Its use of fan. Develop mod meant to improve online play in super smash brothers melee quote. The big house is heartbroken to share. We've received a cease and desist from nintendo america inc to cancel our upcoming online event. Tournaments official statement reads. We were informed. We do not have permission to host or broadcast. The event primarily due to the usage of slippy we are forced to comply with the with the order and cancelled a big house online for both melee and ultimate new quote here from nintendo quote nintendo appreciates the love and dedication the fighting game community has for the super smash brothers series nintendo told cocoon an email. We have partnered with numerous super smash brothers tournaments in the past and host our own online and offline tournaments for the game and we plan to continue that support in the future. Unfortunately the upcoming big house tournament announced plans to host online tournament for super smash brothers melee that requires the use of illegally copied versions of the game in conjunction with ahmad called slippy during their online event nintendo therefore contacted the tournament organizers. Ask them to stop. They refused nintendo no choice but to step in and protect its intellectual property and brands. Nintendo cannot condone or allow privacy of its intellectual property and quote prejudice. Here now while the big house organized robin juggle guy. Horn confirmed these details in an email to kentucky. It should be noted that backing up your your own. Copies of video games for personal use is entirely legal per united states. Copyright law and parentheses. Slippy is a third party modification built by a group of fans to add rollback net code super smash brothers melee before slipping release earlier this year malay players suffered with a subpar infrastructure the mid the nineteen year old game much harder to play at a competitive level but with the addition of rollback net code the benefits of which are widely acknowledged by anyone who takes the fighting game. Seriously malay players were able to finally enjoy great matches with far-flung opponents the arrival of slippy became even more important as the onset of the covid nineteen pandemic pump the brakes on the grassroot tournament circuit with several notable players singing. His praises. many of those players are rightfully making their displeasure with nintendo online in the wake of the big houses. Cancel ization and the hashtag has free. Malay is now trending on twitter quo of all the shit from nintendo. This takes the prize. Adam armato lindgren's another top layer player said quote it's a global pandemic going on is a is a global pandemic going on in intend to once again wants the competitive seem to suffer. Is it too much to ask that. People can play and compete in games from home during this time esa slippery slope where i see both sides of it right because i actually cut the article. I'm off my game. I was so excited. Hang out with you today right. It's going to say of course that to do this like it's been hinted at their you need to be emulating it. And that's why the copyright thing comes in where you're going is that you're not playing the game as it's meant to be you're using this thing and going off of a not so here it is when mainly came out in two thousand one did not have any form of network play adding such necessities The use of the game cube and we emulator dolphin which can which one can only assume nintendo would rather not exist that would make slippy which works in conjunction with the dolphin. A no go. Even if the mod isn't the crux of the problem ended up itself. So that's the mix up problem here right where this is all going from. Where do you stand on this. So i mean. Does the tendons doing their own thing. It's weird that they say that they appreciate love the dedication the fighting game community. Has i the smash brothers series and then they pull something like this and it's it's also interesting that there is that slip up that little bit of confusion with emulation because wasn't it just like a few years ago that they were on the witch hunt for people that were emulating any sort of nintendo game share. Yeah so for for for the point that the person making the article on. I apologize in walker in walker like we're covert. It's a pandemic. were stuck at home. We can't go to ebo. We can't go to all of these other fighting game. I i haven't been. I would love to but i can't. This would be a perfect opportunity to watch that to be a part of that and to see them shut. This down is just really disappointing.

Welcomed skin from the couch. Thank you for having me a dory guys skin from the couch and take on a whole new meeting. yeah. I think everyone now is working from their couches. Okay we're gonna start out with an easy question. Skim your resume for us. Ooh okay. i worked in a candy store in high school in my town in in westchester my parents. Instill that of work ethic in both me and my siblings from a very young age but pressing fast forward too many details that far back i graduated from college went to law school where i met my husband and during law school. I was a legal intern for the new york. Mets my summer internship know the legal internship. When you're in law squad to your second year of law schools are a pretty big deal and it usually ends up. Hopefully if all goes well was an offer at the end of the summer and so my my summer internship after my second year of law school was with gotcha which was the pre eminent. Bankruptcy firm is started with them a second year of law school that was in two thousand seven and then got my offer. September two thousand eight. The world imploded. They actually asked. If i would start early. I started with them. I think it was like october. Two thousand eight. I joined the restructuring group and my first experiences. A lawyer was filing a general motors in american airlines bankruptcy and lehman brothers so spent about two years there and then my husband and i got married in about two thousand ten and he was general counsel for a brazilian private equity fund. That had just acquired burger king. They asked him and one of the other associates from the firm to go down to miami and run the restructuring. that's for burger. King is space and was founded. I left while you know shortly after we got married. Florida has what they call authorized house. Counsel's you actually don't have to take the bar if you work in house as an attorney. So it's really focused on finding an inhouse role and at the time removed. The miami marlins baseball team could had experience in baseball from law. School was opening a new ballpark so previous to that they had actually the facility from the miami dolphins the football team and they didn't have their own ballpark so they were building their own miami. I was brought on as associate in-house counsel director of non baseball revenues. So for the first time in franchise history. They were going to be trying to drive revenue that wasn't affiliated with baseball revenue. So it's sort of you know my first foray into running a peon. Al like an entrepreneurial or business unit within a large the larger confines of a much more resource organization and so i was there for four and a half years. I got pregnant with my first son a now three and we bought our first house in miami beach and my neighbor i was still working for the marlins in house. I was about probably six months pregnant at the time. My neighbor who was like the mayor of our blocks is lovely swedish woman. She invited us over for dinner and had been time about this business that she had started in her garage really and it was still in her garage. Had a few boxes of this swedish nasal spray that she sold to pediatrician's offices and baby boutiques and her kids were now teenagers and she wanted to know anyone. Miami interested in taking over the business. And i said you know about my okay my era i wasn't a parent yet. It didn't even it almost like went right over my head. Yeah i couldn't imagine what. The product was an eric as she wants you to buy the inventory for her. Then eventually you take over an hour running freda yes fast forward. What something that people can't find out about you from google earth lincoln that i really you know up until that moment i really was not a risk taker at all. I told the line. I did what was laid out for me and i i would never in a million years have predicted that i would have veered off. Course

Learning How to Lead with Ryan Hawk

"Ryan hawk on dose of leadership man. I'm excited that you're here. Welcome the show my friend. I appreciate it. Thanks for having me rich You know we've been connected the lincoln and obviously had known about your show for a long time so similar past but always wanted to have you on this show talked. Nfl leadership junkie so man. I'm glad you're here. Like i said thanks for having me it I was read about. Your story is pretty wild especially with everything. Going on as a pilot and september eleventh man. I was I was like wow. This is going to be interesting. Yeah no it's it's it's been a journey but it so i'm curious i i would bet that are past. They're similar in the sense. That if i understand correctly football was kind your dream as you were growing up and then going through college and then you played somewhat professionally as well right and then. How did that in. I don't quite know the story how that ended. Why did the football come to an end. Eventually they tell you you're not gonna Like most guys they re. The sport retires you tire from. And so i played after college. I played for a few years in the arena. Football league briefly went up to canada. And cfl you know handful of workouts in the nfl and then they they say Yeah you're you're you're okay. But not good enough to To make it to the upper echelon of the sport and the nfl where you can actually earn a living and the really gripe played. It's essentially like playing minor league baseball right. You do you do it for the opportunity to keep playing into potentially catch. Someone's eye so that you could maybe have the story like kurt warner right. Kerr played in the arena. League gets gets a workout. He impresses he gets a job. The starter gets hurt and all the rest is history is now in the hall of fame. So i think that's why you do it you you and that's why i did it for a few years and I love those great experience. I mean you. Don't you can only do that when you're still in the prime of your athletic life and and so i'm glad i did it even though it delayed a little bit of my professional career but I i definitely don't regret. Yeah with so when you found it came to an end was it. Was it something you kind of always knew is going to happen you prepared for you said you know what i'm going to play ride this out as long as i can and then i'm going to start some sort of professional career and business or something that always in the back of your mind or was it like with me. I always thought. I was going to be a pilot and west when nine eleven happened and i got thrust in the corporate arena was a little bit of panic. Initially but How was it for you. Well i you know. I think kids. Are i talk with high school and college kids now. They're just so much smarter and better intentions than i did. When i was in college I didn't even really think about not playing football right And and so That could you know. I had friends who were really good about Building relationships creating connections setting themselves up for for life after college. I just wasn't one of those people. I i was immature like a lot of twenty two year olds and so i didn't have any thought of not playing I just happened to get really lucky. I am a family friend. Decided to take a chance on me and hire me into a sales job and And then just said hey just kind of use the same type of work ethic you learn as a player but now do this year for this job and if you do I have a hunch that things will go well. his name's rex. Goswell still a great friend to this day and just i'm just lucky. I had a person who is willing to take a shot. And then i as i try to do. I like to prove people right When they believe in fortunately it kind of my career went from there man. What a blessing to have that person kind of in your corner to kind of steer you. They saw something in you right. Which i think is an obligation of all this leaders right. Great leaders kinda see something that we don't even seen ourselves ripe and they help extract that out of you. That's great and then as i suppose you started working and that's when it was a lexus nexus nexus right and so you're in this sales position in this professional role like with me that's when it became. I started getting these moments of clarity of like. Oh where i came from. In my case it was the marine corps and flying planes in my mindset was limited. When i first started in thinking all i know how to do sleigh airplanes and but then as i got into the corporate arena i started saying oh i did learn a lot more than just flying airplanes. I'm assuming the probably same happen you with your football experience in in the great coaches and mentors you surrounded yourself around most of your life. I learned i learned how to develop a work ethic. I learned resilience. I learned preparation. I learned being coach -able. I learned how to collaborate with others. i got to college. I was on a much more diverse team people from wide variety of backgrounds. And i played a in the arena league down in birmingham so completely different from where. I'm from here in ohio and so i would say i think i learned about people. I learned a lot about myself. Learn about how to work. I learned how to do extra. I learned all that from my coaches from playing sports. And so i. I just tried to take that into the professional world and i liked the profession of selling because the people who were landing at the top of the stack rankings. The people who were making the most money the people who are getting promoted. They were the ones who were working the hardest. I don't have any experience. But i do think i could work And so i i. I was willing and still. I'm willing to to to work really hard at it. And then Eventually led to me. You know having some success in doing well exceeding the goals accompany set for me and then that led to promotions and more opportunities. And so i think that's that i direct all of that back to a combination of two things. One my family. My parents my brothers as well as My coaches who really taught me how to out of work once. I want for my eighth grade to ninth grade year.

Mm. Okay, so worst candy. Nobody likes a kid. I loved it. Got more. You got more. I know you don't know. I'm sorry. I think there might be some truth to your Werebear idea cuz I feel like I've never put my face that close to your genitals before and make me comfortable. But while I was very bearing down there, I guess a bit of a bear that I I felt good it felt good to do so, I don't I don't know. Maybe we should maybe we should wrap things up. I feel so much. I think just want to scratch. So yeah, so thanks for listening. I will be back at some point maybe with a Christmas episode trying to get that my honey poop cuz I'm not home. "Polls have wronged every state and as a way of you know performing some sort of Victory lap Trump pushed through a covid-19 seen or it's supposed to age. Vaccine but I guess it wasn't ready. We had people lining up left and right to try to get this vaccine. And yeah, there was a side effect a little side effect of yeah, you know, it's it seems to have turned people into I don't know for lack of a better word goals. Well, I like a rabbit rabbit is cannibals who like to eat other people. Yeah. I'm afraid of needles I think so are you so we didn't get it? Yeah, we will I wasn't sure I was going to trust anything Trump said cuz I'm a big wage, you know, I was just scared of needles. But yeah, yeah. Anyway, we didn't get it I got cuz we didn't get it and we didn't get the vaccine and I've actually never been affected for anything. I should have told you. That's why I had it explains a lot. But yeah, so we're we're sort of hunkered in here hungering in the bunker and we actually dead. Here and we can't I assume Jack's family is dead is certainly not as dead. They they were first in line for the vaccine item then cuz of school and it's I don't know. Yeah, so they're probably eating each other out like to do don't I don't really care about that. Brian is like the thing is it's already like it's already Weighing on my mind that the world is over the fact that I know my family. I just had my stupid brother is oh, yeah, you love them so much you spend all your time down here with me. I mean I do I do now because that's right. See that proves my point. So we're stuck here waiting. I hear something something's like clawing at the door. Oh my god, get the gun. Yeah, get the get the gun. All right. Yeah, get the get the old nine millimeter out and we're going off. So this is good content. So Let's see. Who's who's there? Are you goofing? You are human? Hello. What my my name's not heal human. Are you a human or a girl answer the question? Yeah, what makes you think I'm a goal just the scratching the general scratching and sort of your voice. Yeah, and yeah and hailed a lot of polish on the pizza guy, you know, your friend. All right. I'm going to get the door but oh, I love you Papa John's is kind of shity, but I'll still have some I'm starting to just meet me Papa John's. I meant Domino's always. That's even better. It's actually just don't okay. Okay, check the exact. I might this might be because I'm scared from being hungry. I mean nothing but mushrooms and I did eat some of the Rat earlier. I didn't want to tell you cuz I didn't want to share it, but I'm fucking starving off. Cable slowly. So let me just okay, I'm going to call my God. I'm going to open don't open the Chrome icon. I took off fire The Gun Jack fire close to top it off. I told you not to open the door you open the door. Well, you didn't order a pizza. Nobody just delivers piece without ordering a pizza that time it was a goal was gotta be ready for when the regular pizza guy comes cuz I'm starving man Pizza Guys. The world is over the world is you know that we don't know everything in the world there could be at least. All right, let's just Go back downstairs and chill out for a while. And I mean we're going to have to find some way to kill the time down here. So I sent another one. I am talking again. Really? Yes to hear that. Goddamn. Oh my God, it sounds like like Jagged Nails. That's definitely a good P. Hey, hey cooler cooler human life. Oh, that's awesome. Oh, you're a lady. I am waiting and blow off. It sounds like a missing any skin. On my body. Oh my God. She talks about her body. I'm kind of I've never had sex like it seems like a weird way to describe yourself. So wait a minute. We have to make sure she's not a goal. Okay. So, how how big are these breasts, how long yeah, how big are they and what what do they feel like? Oh my God. That's all she needed to stay on the door off. I'll be a cool. Yeah, it's not working off. Okay. All right. I'm going to shut the door. She was frustrated. Oh my god. Did you hear? I don't know where that chick went. So fucking hot. Okay. I heard she had it was a kid. She had no skin Seasons the size of birth. Watermelons. She said was that. Just the way you say it is good at this point. It's been like it's been in a half weeks since I've had sex that's not that's not that long. It is for somebody took a video of a jackrabbit my friends or a Brian rabbits me. You won't answer the door. I'm not going to answer the door unless she comes back stupid. I gotta get that long dick went from Jesus Christ. Sorry. I mean, I'm sorry. So I I wanted to ask you this earlier since you got to kill some time, you know, what's like the thought this thing you did to Carol in bed, we're done that we're talking about like a strong stop. I clearly you're cleared you want to know about this thing can use it? Okay. See that's weird. Don't look at me. Like you're not even I'm just turning putting that you're putting in your spank bank in this discussion. You're wanting just testing. What's what's the what's your what what is she how she wants she's dead dead. What's all right then you'll get off to my dead wife. Oh God. Okay. Come on doing what is that each other? Hello is somebody there? Hello Google or human cool or human obviously human office. He tends to not sure. I don't know if she is distracted cuz I've got all this pizza and these poor Nomads out here. It's important. I can possibly I've got myself a one would you mean which bags do you have like the desire to have a lot as before? It doesn't sound so it was just it was the same goal the first two times but this time it might be that shift goals out here, especially not any attractive handsomely rugged lady like once what what's the name? Isn't it ladies some rugged? I don't even think this guy this this sounds like a cool. We don't even know what pornography is. I know that'll work for me is thing where they still Milady and there's also a car that's true in some point. There's a car I guess he's not. Yeah, sometimes we'll put her but on the did you get pizza? Where did you get pizza? Where did you get that or a new new Pizza Hut promo you get a box of pizza and you get some porn House Pizza Hut still open until the world was over. I'll tell you that buddy had so little slogan. Wait a minute. Wait. What if this is that same Google from earlier? That's what I'm saying is definitely the angle from earlier Who's down? How do you mean it's not cool? He's a cool. I wouldn't think it's so much about how does teach a guy with born? Cuz they told me doing now seems to know what I'm saying. Just don't let's open the doors down. And through the door and just you put a slice of pizza and a ripped image of pornography on top of it and slide it to you and then we'll know that's cool a little bit looks like you know whether the cracks big enough for not this is the first time I've opened it. It's really different goal. I work in Poland. I obviously know the size. It looks different shoot the gun lights off. A real. Oh dude, right not a gamer, right? Yeah. Yes, dude. I only have one bullet left all the bullets song. Why should we were you shooting Rats the other day is that what shut the red ones cuz I was hiding hunting it and I had to eat it somehow but also I've been hating a lot of the other bullets or mad. Scenes with a hammer to see what would happen. I need you to tell me one boy last prior. You've been shooting them in discriminately out the front door don't actually trying to kill the God. There's a plus job of killing. And by the way, that's why you kept fucking coming back. It's hard to aim Wednesdays so Wily what? Yeah, right. Yeah. I'm sure you probably did it probably till that beautiful big titted woman out. There was no it wasn't that was the goals friend or whatever. Oh my God,.

And yeah, this is a very special episode where we're going to we're going to show you some Tales of Terror and horror and spooky stuff and it's you know, it's all it's none of this is kanen, so don't worry, like if you're if you're following along and keeping track of the actual story. This is all this is like a choose-your-own-adventure where you choose the wrong one. Yes, it's it's like a a spooky episode that is in no. Away, a rip-off of The Simpsons Halloween Special know what is our own original idea. I've never had any writers copyrights. So if they come at us, then that's on beef and it will send a credit on it works. So basically fuck my arm. Yeah. I'm sorry. I stretched my arm. Well, I didn't scratch it something worth their while I was like, I was trying to I was forging for mushrooms in the bushes and I you know, I'm a guy with loose morals as they say and bleeding like through shirts. I wrapped it up. I'm trying to get it to stop bleeding but it's just like this by Ty something bit me and scratched me something bitch you what was it? What makes you It was an animal cuz like a larger black animal that was like, you know sort of larger black animal not with you think like a like a not a dog but big family like Fourier than a bigger like a cat like a like a like a Jaguar know like a big fat animal that craves honey. Kind of oh like a bear in a way. That's fine. I was bit by a bear ice a bit of a barrel lot of the VIN by it there. I didn't want to say it but I've been bitten by a bear. Hahaha. I was either listen Okay my God, he inherited bunker from ahead. And yeah, I've been I was bit by a bear. That's not important. Okay, it's not important part off. Nothing a bit of a bear right now. That's that's called, That's cool. Jesus dude. I don't know where that came from. I was weird around just off. Okay, I'm sorry. I don't mean to swipe it you like that. I just well you got you got your fingernails are a little longer than I remember which is that's just cuz I've been learning to play a classical guitar. It's not it doesn't have to do with my life. I would go for like every just want to go. I mean I was foraging earlier. I just really want to go around someone's campsite wage. I don't don't worry about it. He doesn't matter where bear type thing to say Brian in becoming a bigger and you're just like I could catch one of these these fish with my bare. Oh, well not that's what bears think I should wait. Wait. Wait a minute. Did you buy a bear was it was it was it was it at night? Was it turn a full Moon? I mean, is it ever not during a full moon in Norton? It's just like constant out here day becomes nice. It's basically took a bit by a bear or if you got bit by a Werebear cuz there's such thing as a Werebear except for beorn in The Hobbit, which I highly recommend just seems like you're becoming a job. And see a little bit of a bear. I guess you're joking or jumping.

This guy so much like I did a play with him once and I also ran onstage during another one of his productions and it really impressed Lena. Cotter I-. Ruining ruining a play impressed Lena ruining play by creating a love. It's like social media where it's like it doesn't matter what reaction you get is about how big it is and I definitely got thrown out. So that's a terrible advice for anybody to listen anywhere daily with he is coming. So fear he's coming here right now because Rigo? Star your. Barbeque way. Stop the hell you stop. I don't know that much about the Beatles, not familiar because it's an old band that no one cares about. But what I'm trying to say is that he's coming here because he wants to pitch us on doing a musical about the bunker, our life story and our dad and everything he wants to do. So get your singing pipes ready baby. You'RE NOT GONNA sing Brian. It's just like I know like to sing but we got impressed. I really really want to be in the shadow with. A Lot. Of the show, I don't want to be in the show you. Got Do not buck and ruin this for me ruining it. I just don't want to be very theater director coming soon, we'll be right back..

"The photographer when Blumenfeld Difference Bake into our mother the sculptor Helaine Blumenfeld old now Raimi's splits his time between incubating young movie making talent and his highly impactful and sought after work as a life coach. Raimi's always always been there for me and in reality. We're more like twin brothers. Today we talk about what it was like growing up together and apart. He's the one with with the intact. British accent is always me who is doing little radio interviews with my Sunni cassette set record where I was interviewing mostly myself as other people which is kind of what we're doing now yet accepted. I should reassure you that there are two of us here in fact and you interviewing yourself. I'm not interviewing myself. We should kind of explain little bit how we met which was when I was I five in Ewa Sierra in a house. That's when you met me. That's what I meant yeah. I didn't even know that you around. I probably did like go to someone else here to share food with. I better be nice. When do you think you first were were me then. I think the youngest sibling you probably always away. I think probably genetically pre-programmed to kind of Suss out competition for attention and food. You'll Elliot's memories of me. Elliot's earlier than my own earliest memories of myself that's true and the other thing of course is that I had an expectation about you. Always I was expecting you to be my best friend because that's what I was told. A brother or sister would be so I was h five waiting for best friend arrive life and then this baby came back there. Was this realization that what I've been promised hasn't been delivered it upon where you had no expectation of older brother and I wasn't aware of this bargain. How could you have been it wasn't a bug and it was just I think Nice Nice to jared. He's going to be your best friend. One day that turned out to be true turned out to be true. I'm sort of reminded that Odin quote that every family has a secret credit and that secret is that it's different from other families and I always felt that family was very different from other families and it didn't even seem that other families milies war different also because we were American Jewish. We're living in a English White Protestant village. I felt like we look different. We sounded different did had did that occur to you. I think for me the ORDEN quote itself on its head in the tens out that will actually just pretty Simla families as opposed to like the cultivation of difference like a Lotta people I think want to fit in on to be part of society and both our parents leaving uric kind of salt the opposite of of that so not only did they have attributes that made them very different at the same time. They want to accentuate those as very yeah. I think I would be embarrassed. I was like a born and bred local yokel and all my friends live next door and none of them had with parents. I mean some of them. Did I remember Jesse's Jesse. Wilson's parents followed the Maharishi and mean we had a few it was the seventies Dante's right and yet our parents definitely more difference so I wanted to be more similar every yeah yeah I mean. I always so you kind of with them. As with my parents very exotic like Raimi's very different to Antolin Yorick you I always kind of saw you the three of you actually together more like as adults they the older people and like they would have very serious conversations with you and I remember listening to you in the living room with lane in Iraq and David just like very academic discussions about you the quality of your violin-playing if you just applied yourself more and why did Mr Chernov ski have to tell you to do this again and again. I was fucking want want no part of that lie remy whatever they're doing. I don't want it but it's funny that you saw me as part of them because I saw them as Daman. I and I wanted to be more normal and different from them so I can see how that occurred to you that way. I mean you all your red uniform to send John's John's foreign like what is he doing what he's going to this other school and no one ever explained to me like why's. Ramey going to this fancy. Prep school and do now not really. I mean why why did you go to John's well. Because I was the village school which you would still but you a five and I was nine and I could barely read beat or Damalf. I mean they were prodigy. What are you talking about that too old to have this image of you procam well. You're reading Kant and you know nature and experiencing the beauty of Bach whereas I couldn't read. I was always like God. That's just so intimidating being Raimi's brother because he's a genius and like yeah but that's just every Jewish son story isn't it. You know that was actually true. So I was coming into contact with kids who are the children of parents friends who were educated privately. Lee mostly and mostly came from schools in London and they were the same age as me and they could speak French and German and Latin had great handwriting in writing and re thank you notes and and I can do any of that g member at breakfast. We'd get like postcards as you would in the seventies and the first thing that everyone would do is is look at the handwriting and you Know York Ago God. They must be so depressed. Look at the downward lean of this writing. I mean it's so chaotic. Ramey the tablet your writing it hit me from rising but because my writing age nine was not could not express my thoughts probably you know the thoughts of a nine year old but my writing was the writing of a six year-old cajones was about my effort to better myself and the problem with going there was that it was a very very conventional school web as you say everyone wore uniform and and I had to fit into the English stereotype of being kind of prep school boy but there was no other boy that he looked like me no other boy with Jewish parents there was no other boy the minded that you the Jewish parents thing even at that age it did and I think part of that was kind of bound up with my own sense of being different because I was aware of being gay before I knew what it meant as a sexual thing I just I imagined I would spend the rest of my life married to a man. When people said talked a marriage I never imagined being married to a woman and I knew somehow how that I was gay before I knew what it was and so I felt different in that way and then I look different and then I my parents were embarrassing shoe. Say I mean I think maybe all parents are marrying in some way but parents were quite flamboyant and self expressed and hippyish and they had that big old station wagon that was rusty with French French plates and if you juxtapose that with I mean England now is different but then it was incredibly tradition-bound conventional and like the EPI piece entered the the pinnacle of that Elitism was a school you went to I mean it wasn't just English society in general I mean this was like the blue bloodiest people pull with the Pasha's Tony Accents and you know with thousands of years of lineage and like stamps with their name on I mean it was a bizarre place. Yeah Yeah Yeah really very much so and so and you didn't say no of course not. I sort of wanted to fit in more and like you said you fit in with your your friends but they could lose. It was easy. It's easy to go that direction life. I couldn't have pretended to be partioned. Tony but it it could be an idiot. It was easier. I that's why I like them. It was like just they just didn't really care and they were ready. Light it you know they already already picked upon causes such a class society you know cow. Don Trevor Bradshaw in those I mean they would Rufus is an by whereas these people they wanted to kind of the people you went to school with a very social climbing like very British. It's true and I hated it. It says I I definitely came away from that experience feeling like however much I might want to fit in. I didn't want to fit into that world and then and then you went to Beatles which was a boarding school for autistic types where I did fit in much more and felt much happier on how was that for you revolt and I was just telling ten which I guess in retrospect was a little too young to go to boarding school. I mean we basically in some ways grew up as only children and so we lived in a house where I could be picky. I didn't eat hardly anything I had a lot of freedom. late in Europe will always traveling. I love the comfort of my bed and my Duva and I'd never slept in a room with anyone else so being thrown into a room with with lots of kids who snored and had all kinds of issues and having to eat all the food that I just was repulsive to me. It was horrible long painful transition to to deal with but I mean I remember you came in red to us. I remember the room and it had these light stuffy. Chaz Wing Wing Chaz and you would sit there reading stories and I was just like I want to escape eight with Ramey wise remy leaving back to the big school. I WANNA go. I WanNa can't he take me why. Why do I have to stay here too that you yeah well. I wish you could have said that. I wish I could have had that. You seem like one of the cool kids you know I think every school there are cliques leagues and groups like a cool group of the tall on a group of our cost of the bottom and you seem like you're in the cool. Kids kids group at the top. That's how you seem to me and I think I I was that comes at a big cost. What was the context as is either an emphasis on the part of me that really I want to thrive that I think is my true nature and then there's things that support the negative parts of you and Boarding School for me supported the negative parts of me so it was like Lord of the flies I mean at some point you're going to try and survive through people jumping on your bed and beating you off Paul. You know whatever the thing is is is at that age voting school is kind of not a healthy didn't support being sensitive or talking about your feelings or showing emotional vulnerability. None of those things would have allowed me to survive so you just kind of workout. What other things is that that I need to do right now. So there's a coping mechanisms. I mean for me. The problem is that the coping mechanisms ultimately became who I was and that wasn't the WHO I was or wanted to be it because outwardly. You're cool and you got things in control. Inwardly I didn't feel that and as a child to have to.
