"Stick out there and declared didn't get the shot that he was looking for on that. Strong move towards the net. So Black Hawks need to continue that help out the goaltender Kevin Lincoln and in his NHL debut on Joel Quenneville was coaching the black Cocks and Anthony Duclair played for in the little bit that he did. He was asked. What do you like about Claire? And it was a two word answer. His speed saw there is a shot for Murphy from the right point Florida zone. Smothered by Bob Broschi and Andrew Shaw is right at the top of the priest looking for a rebound. Couldn't find anybody sure found some company for the Florida Panther Mount Shop was ineffective player in the first few games hasn't got any goals to show for it this season. It's got an assistant on the year, but he's drawn a bunch of talent. He's he's been very feisty. He's worked hard. Done exactly what he needs to do. I'd like to see more guys and another guy like that. Who's in the lineup is Brandon. Hey, we'll get more involved in get under the skin of the opposition as much as possible. He's got that propensity. Diego played his junior hockey and red deer for four seasons. From the draw circles to the left of the Broschi. It's bad in the center ice by Murphy, taken back by the Panthers touch shot in down the far boards and behind the hawk head around it goes to the near side. Here to get it for Florida. Alex Winberg, remember put it behind the net on, then tried to pass up the slot. When it's in the glove of Kevin Lincoln. And he'll hold on. We gotta whistle staffing play. Well, if you'd given Lincoln and you're playing in your first game, you've obviously got some butterflies going on. The one thing that he could do to help himself is settled things down. We've seen him cover up a lot of the parks around the front of the Net area. Don't try to force anything. Don't put pucks back into play. If you're not 100% sure. Just settle things down and regroup. Every time that you have an opportunity in the near corner in the hot zone in Mitchell wins the battle for the puck. Senator and the senator is diffuse suitor. "Behind the scenes, and let me bring it to you this way the blue jackets in two phases of the season have faced really weird circumstances involving their player personnel. The first is that when the season started? It was an open secret in the NHL that arguably the two best players are Pinera n- a great Russian forward who's the leading score. And Sergei Broschi who is a dozen a winning goaltender open secret that they both gonna leave. The team is unrestricted free agents the summer. So the team held a meeting earlier this year that cleared the air across all the players on data issue there kind of plan line about it. But the air was cleared then during this western Canadian. Road trip. The team was struggling after going. What was better described is all in at the trade deadline. They kept Pinera and the kept the Broschi they made a big trade for Matt Duchenne and Ryan single from the Ottawa Senators and they struggled and apparently at this meeting in western Canada on this road trip. The air was cleared again of various and sundry issues and ever since that point the players said they'd been locked in on the same page playing great hockey. I do think that they are a team that is built to win a cop. They've got two really good offensive lines. They have a foundational franchise the fence when Steph Jones that every Cup champion seems to have an if Sergei Brodsky who had been a punchline in the playoffs figured himself out as a playoff goal either. They could they could be it's comes out of the east my problem. And this is kind of ironic considering we just talked about with Tampa. Is this layoff might kill that whole mental. They're going to be off for like a week. Before they have to play their next playoff round. And that's a long time for a team that had been playing a playoff game. Every other day to be sitting around waiting to see who comes out of that Toronto Boston series. They shouldn't have been Tampa. So comprehensively those recites my favorite moment in this series came after the series was over when the Tampa Bay Lightning Twitter account emotive the following. We don't have any words, and we know you don't want to hear them. We understand your anger. Your frustration your sadness, everything you're feeling we get it. This isn't the ending we imagined. And certainly not the one we wanted. Thank you for being there. The entire way. Maybe the most emo- moment in the history of sports, not just in hockey. But I do feel like it captures something about playoff hockey, and the feeling that it makes no sense that it's capricious that why doesn't the lightning. Call me back. I thought we had something answered my last twenty texts what is going on? Like, I do, you know, the the Twitter account of the team you like to kind of capture the spirits of the fan base and the emotions, and I feel like this was a fact of in that way pro perhaps I mean more effective if you set it to a joy division song. It's true. But, but no, I think that it was an interesting statement and one interest ads. One that the fan base. I think some of them seem to really understand and other ones were really kind of angry about it and wanted him to fire their coach, but listen, this is a supremely talented team. They're they are locked in with the Dacian of players in their prime for years and years and years to come and the thing about all playoff teams in speaking about the randomness of the play offs, and and sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't the Washington Capitals. Last season are beacon of light there. The lighthouse they the ones that you look at and say there was a real sense that this group was never going to win and especially with never going to get past their tormentors the Pittsburgh Penguins that happened and the caps. You know went on to win their first Cup in franchise history. A racing years and years and years of playoff utility and losing heartbreaking series. So every single time. Now that you have a situation like the lightning. They're gonna come back and say, look, we it wasn't our time. That's what Nikita kucherov. They're up. Probable MVP who did it very not the thing by getting suspended for game..

"So Josh, we got the the blue jackets on home ice tonight. Baby home is well, excuse me. Getting too excited home-ice against the New York. Islanders puck drops at. Seven we got captain, Nick Felino back and can't come in a better time because without him. The jackets were one two in one. They only got three points out of that. So it'd be nice to get there are captain back on the ice tonight. And then we as we confirm day metal Sergei Broschi will be in goal tonight. So that's a good thing proposal at the NFL rules committee looks like there were one step closer to having non calls meaning like that pass interference. I wasn't called in the Rams saints NFC championship game last year. NFL rules committee are looking at changing that also blindside blocks today a ruled illegal because they're trying to cut down on concussion. So if you're block guy, it's blindside it's going to be a fifteen yard penalty. And also Jim Harbaugh apparently created big ten east co champion t shirts for his team up north and on the back is sixty two thirty nine. Member that score. Okay. So just a little reminder. You can call yourself the big ten these coach. But Jim Harbaugh wants everybody in this year's class to remember what happened in Ohio stadium at the end of the year. "With twenty eight seconds in the period. Thirty eight seconds in the penalty to Jones. Income's Hoffman through center over the center circle to the Toronto on the far side. It's dumped down but Brodsky out the played himself. He fumbles away here in the near corner. Getting in McCain out of the nearside hop in the past the line. It's away from Wiedeman and he'll backtrack into the Panthers zone for this. One Wiedeman quickly sending it along a pass to McCain on the nearside who dumps it in but Broschi behind the net. And this one sent off the glass farside that's going to go down to our left. And that's it for period. Number two, two two is the score. There will be eleven seconds remaining on the Jones penalty when the third period begins. But the Panthers so far on this power play Columbus plugging some passing lanes there and Tutu's the score following forty minutes. Play panthers. Unable to get set up on that power play. Rare to see that that first unit struggled a few missed passes. If you wants to goals in this game, it looks like you're gonna have to work for you got to get in front of a Broschi. We didn't see any odd man rushes in that period for the Panthers down at the other side. You saw that one brief breakway by Anderson. Perrine almost had a chance but other than that it's been a stalemate on both sides. There's been a grudge match. Hard hat lunch. Pail time the game. So we'll see if the dancers can get it out and grinded out here in the third period. So off today. "And talk dogs are available at Publix or shopping is a pleasure go one of the goalscorers last time out against buffalo. And that is Mike Hoffman Hoffman's got four goals in the Panthers last six to go with two assists consistent production for the former Ottawa Senator in his first with the Panthers now on thirty seven points in thirty nine games didn't lead to win Mike offer. Continuing hotline of scoring form makes Salas hot dogs. Hot panther going into tonight as for the visitors Columbus Cam Atkinson is our player to watch for the blue jackets a goal and assist in each. Columbus wins over the Panthers. This year had a goal and two assists in their six three win over Ottawa. A New Year's Eve Atkinson leaves a blue jackets and goals at twenty four on a year and a second on the team in points. The forty two clang well and play well earlier this year against the Panthers makes him are opposing player to watch tonight for the visiting Columbus blue jackets tonight's key stat and with tonight's golden nugget of information is Billy Lindsay for the Panthers in that James rhymer good of late three. Oh and owners last three starts one point four five goals against average nine forty seven save percentage. But even strike he has a nine fifty four eight percentage in that span. Wise that important Columbus doesn't have very good power play. But they have been very good at five on five. They have a plus thirteen goal differential. The Panthers minus twenty two five on five. So they have to be able to shore that upper house to continue his hot duties down. At the other end. Sergei Broschi got pulled last night gave up three goals on sixteen shots test him early. But the goaltending always going to be important to the outcome of the game. And that does touch on our gyco goalie matchup just to get you caught up on the.

"Also, you have to remember thinking we talked about the Broschi again making the big trade two years ago for Chris sale. Not afraid he's old school in in a world of all, you know, sabermetrics analytical things I mean to browse who I've known since she started. Everybody's what they're going to get hospital, and he signs Mitch Moreland. I mean, this it's a great and glass to your the decision to bring up Devers. I got great moves. I gotta tell you guys. In some video available to some distill. Yeah. It's really hilarious. We haven't talked enough about David price. I mean, I there have been two two great narrative changes at this time of year. One is Alex Rodriguez did this for himself in the two thousand nine postseason after he had been such Robert wall. He had been such a miserable failure for the Yankees in October that there was a night in a division series against the Tigers. When Joe Torry about it a mate because he wasn't allowed to Batum tenth. Okay. And now he redeems himself price. What price has done has. He has now taken his place with the great October Red Sox heroes, and no bloody sock or anything like that. But oh my God. He will. He was remembered one way there were Red Sox fans. I know who said he's not gonna be on the team next year going into the postseason. And now here we are he pitches the closeout game against the Astros. He pitches the clothes out. Game the world. So you keep hearing time. And again, we go back to the famous infamous in Boston episode on the plane last year when he accosted Dennis Eckersley. Yes. Of course, he was appropriate excoriated for that..

"Yup then then you the natural next step is that trump will fire muller and nothing will happen so i was i can't see trump's admitting to an interview with muller he will not to do it right the thing with the interview seems to be this lawyers don't want him to do it you don't believe that do you think he really would submit to questioning from bob mueller is a man who's fifty times smarter than he is nose and knows much more about what's going on in this case trump does doesn't think the muller is fifty trump thinks he's fifty times smarter than muller at least on some level in some moments of the day he thinks that but i think you're right that finding the conditions in which is actually going to do this interview is very different from bloviating about how willing he has to do that a couple of months ago you know look the other thing is that it is clear or maybe just say the news is i feel like it is raining news about things related to this investigation the cast of characters is expanding dramatically right so on wednesday in the new york times there was this amazing story about this fixer guy george nader who was working with the uae and also it seems the deputy finance chairman of the republican national committee elliott broschi they had this whole it seems fairly obvious i was gonna use the word conspiracy deal going on of the ua sending business to bruschi in return for brisky helping out and getting the uae's interests in front of trump and they're all these emails break skis that have come out in a big hack that really pretty damning so that's just like one more point i mean if i was mapping this on a wall i would be there just so many things to keep track of and the more it expands more seems to take into account trump's business interests all these other people's business interests the way in which they're essentially trying to manipulate trump and jared kushner and use the presidency to advance their own interests that's very dangerous and there is an argument that it fall at least the republicans can try to make it that falls outside of muller's original purview and then there's been this effort i think by trump in the last few days and by some republicans in congress.

"Obey i think pittsburgh is probably the one well let let me parole on one answer on season this right is columbus really forty two one yeah yeah come on two wanted five dimes well columbus is the point outta 8 all yeah you'll things have gone sideways there but i i know you're at the very beginning of the year in the way that they were bill as an said columbus you'll have a real opportunity your months ago say they'd be the team to be the biggest challenge for tampa in the east at it it's not been pretty there uh but if columbus does uh some good work here at the trade deadline there there's a lot of talent on that columbus team that for whatever reason just has not matched but you know do i would trust the columbus more than i would it carolina or new jersey uh so actually if you're looking for a and that's what you're doing when you're playing futures you're you're trying to projects up and down the road you'll before squeak cubs of you'll columbus goes on a five and one or six an old street at all of a sudden there firmly entrenched who cares rehn um and once they're in i i would deem them to be more dangerous than half of the teams that are in there i i'd be columbus is a viable option as a future what i think so too in and this is a team has been sliding down the board because you mentioned they haven't played while but they have that great equalizer type guy in sergei broschi who can go out there and and win you a series if you need it and could pull that type of upset because he's a worldclass colder enemy has been phenomenal here this season with team in front of them has been all that great either so you that's a really good one to look at their i'll with columbus fifty to one bet online sixty two wanted five dimes i don't even see them listed here in jeff shermans tweets i'm not sure what they are right now uh over at the west get excuse me but you're that may be a team for you to look at here brian what am i think i wanna talk with you.

"That win late win in overtime eventually that well runs dry so in in in what is a very competitive metropolitan division in which pittsburgh's right in the thick of things if that warm worst turn on them that may be a bit of a different story excellent game in montreal between the columbus blue jackets in the canadiens two teams struggling to score goals and this was the borowski show if cerebrate gaber broschi can apply his vezina caliber goaltending in the regular season to the post season the co columbus is gonna win a cop they have the talent to do it it just state whether it's by broschi or whether it's his blue line in front of him in the the richest you're matching up with teams that they just don't seem to match up will last year it was pittsburgh but god abrupt ski was good last night he really i thought put on a tremendous show montreal a twenty nine shots on goal they didn't score a tally until byron scored in the third period now midway through the tied the game at one but were renske gets the goal of overtime a tremendous feed from cam atkinson and once actions in gets going this is going to be a really good team he's been banged up he hasn't played to the best of his ability but there's a lot a young talented players there in broschi really brings it together so on my anxious on gonna be in columbus on friday to call the rangers blue jackets game uh this will be the third time the range of play the blue jackets i've been in the building both times getting to know the columbus blue jackets in uh i think that's a really good team so for broschi can just bring that to the post season i think that they can be in the conversation as among the better teams in the eastern conference let's hear from you at download graca hashtag game misconduct love the fact they were getting uh so much feedback from people and people wanted to ask questions on want to try to carve out as much time as possible be able to do that the mount rushmore thing seems to really get people talking jack says where do guys from this generation fit into the mount rushmore.

"I guess i guess so sometimes people stay too long in in these types of jobs they're often or time limits were i think we could compare the coal julian that with the bruins that his time is probably run out last year somewhere thing i guess you could say that i mean the other thing i thought dave dombrowski said it was interesting was was he talked about how we came to the decision and was saying it wasn't a snap decision other words it wasn't based on them being eliminated in the playoffs two years in a row and they got swept by the cleveland indians last season 2016 they lost in four this season so they lost six of seven playoff games they won ninety three games in backtoback seasons i think by a lotta measures that success but the ultimate successes in broschi said his winning the world series and i think the when you look at it i don't think that dembroski felt like farrell was the guy to get the most out of this roster and i wrote to send the globe today that it's possible that john fell does not deserve to be fired based on merit as someone who in his five seasons here won a world series in three american league east titles and went back to back alias titles but at the same time he's not the guy who got the most out of this roster and ultimately i feel like that's why dembroski made this decision i think he feels like there's somebody else who can get more out of this roster and create a better environment in the clubhouse those more conducive to this team reaching its full potential because even though they won ninety three games it's not like you had guys that had great seasons they were inconsistent in terms of hitting in scoring runs he had the whole situation with david price and dennis eckersley which i think soured a lot of fans on the team which is never good so when you look at our overall yes the wins and losses during the regular season were good but there are some other things during the season that were unsightly and certainly not the way you want them to be if you were to browse ski well said chris and well written in today's paper a complementary and look what here's what it comes down to our believe this is not minnesota.
