"Unlikely outcome. But the thing and then the third thing I thought about all these thoughts is guns, how could you do this to tyrese maxing? Tyrese maxi would have to be, I mean, you're golden boy. You're beautiful son. You have to be able to move off of tyrese maxi to make this happen. How could you? Yeah. I want to unpack all the reasons why what's happening in Brooklyn and the deterioration of relationships relative to KD and him building that team. I want to get into all that in a second, but just from what you're talking about here, whether or not the sixers could pull it off because again, high ranking members of the sixers being interested, not surprising how you could potentially pull that off much more difficult. You mentioned tyrese maxi, there was recently a pick of Matisse thigh bowl, George Yang, Tobias Harris, and tyrese maxi at Tobias Tobias Harris wedding. And people sixers Twitter were making jokes about that basically being their nets trade package. I don't think that's getting it done for KD, and here's another problem that makes it more complicated. The sixers have no first round pick in 2023, 2025 or 2027 because of the stepien rule. They can't trade picks in first round picks in 24, 26 or 28. So you're looking at 2029, right? I mean, I just don't think a package of no first round picks and three guys along with tyrese maxi gets it done for KD. There are delusional sixers fans out there who say no. I know, I know this will shock you who are worried about trading maxi because they do love maxi so much. He is such a fan favorite. He has really taken a step up and he is 13 years younger than KD. All of that said, those people are insane. Of course you trade tyrese maxi if you can get KD. I just don't think the sixers have what it takes to get it done.

Fresh update on "brooklyn " discussed on The Lead
"Dodger fans, fans of Vince Scully coming out standing quietly. Some bringing candles, others bringing flowers, some even leaving behind personal messages of how much Vin Scully meant to them. All of this playing out in front of a sign that bears the very name of the man they are here to honor. Last Tuesday, the man that many people consider the greatest broadcaster of all time. Vin Scully died at the age of 94. For 67 years, Scully was the iconic warm and unmistakable voice of the Dodgers, who started out calling games in Brooklyn at the start of the 1950s. I know hitter a perfect game in a World Series. For most of 7 decades, Scully's voice was a constant in LA, and across the baseball world. Until his final broadcast goodbye in 2016. You and I have been friends for a long time, but I know in my heart that I've always needed you more than you've ever needed me. And I'll miss our time together more than I can say. Today, 5 writers share their memories of in Scully the broadcaster, the storyteller, and the person. From wondery, I'm Tiffany osinski. It's Friday, August 12th, and this is the lead.
Vin Scully's Voice Will Live On
"I want to speak about a man who just in a short period of time that I've been researching him is, in my opinion, one of the greatest voices of sports entertainment, one of the great, greatest voices, period. Someone who has a parent integrity, people love him. I can tell you what, when I was growing up, I didn't hear about him because I never watched baseball, but listening to Larry elder and people on the staff who are from Los Angeles, they tell me that Vince Scully was such an incredible man and has an incredible legacy and for those of you who may not know Vince Scully Vin Scully passed away, I believe he passed away last night. And I'm going to read a little bit of information about him and it's just that he was a Hall of Fame broadcaster. Whose voice provided the soundtrack to the summer while entertained, entertaining and informing Dodger fans and in Brooklyn in Los Angeles for 67 years. And he says he died Tuesday night as the team said, he passed away at the age of 94. So I want to play a couple clips just in memorial of Vince Scully and just to show my respect to him and a lot of my listeners that live in California that probably are familiar with him. Also, all around the country, I want to show my respect. So we'll play a couple clips from Vince Scully so you can get the normal little better if you don't already know. Wrote a clip. The only thing that helps me go in 67 years, as I said last night, is the grace of God. Let's face it. And that's out of my hand. The lord has blessed me. He gave me this job at such a youthful age, and allowed me to live and do it 67 years. What am I going to say? Darn it, why didn't I get number 68 or anything like that? No. I am totally at ease, I am so thankful, grateful. I've enjoyed every minute of it, believe me. Every minute.
Vin Scully, Dodgers broadcaster for 67 years, dies at 94
"Hi everybody and a very pleasure good evening to you It was the familiar opening to Scully smooth summer soundtrack I don't know how you feel about it at the other end For 67 years from Brooklyn to Los Angeles Jackie Robinson and Sandy Koufax Sandy into his wind up Here's the pitch Swung on and missed a perfect game To Fernando mania and Clayton Kershaw Scully was the beloved voice of the Dodgers a consummate storyteller All I have ever really accomplished is to talk about the accomplishments of others He's in the baseball Hall of Fame on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and 6 years ago received the nation's highest civilian honor I love this game I'm Sagar Meghani
Trump Makes a Return to Washington, DC
"Donald Trump was in Washington D.C. on Tuesday to speak about at the American first policy institute about the need for putting policies just like safety first. I mean, this isn't that hard, right? It's not that hard to say. You know what we need to care? About American safety. We need to make sure that we don't have drug dealers on the street or coming into the country. We need to make sure that we police our neighborhoods. All of our neighborhoods that means the south side of Chicago and Compton out in California and parts of New York City and Brooklyn and The Bronx and all these places where the police have backed off. I mean, they're not allowed to do their jobs. That's part of the issue here. And so what Trump is saying is perfectly normal and logical and the idea that the Democrats are somehow fighting this. That's a huge problem. They're fighting everything. They're fighting the idea that only a woman can have a baby. That's how weird it's gone.

Former Speaker of House Newt Gingrich on the Democrats' Midterm Plan
"That I'm a little paranoid about though, mister speaker, and I talk about this openly on the program, is that the Democrats have some sort of plan for the midterms that we might not yet be gaming out correctly because I have so much respect for our opposition and how Machiavelli and they are and how they're able to use tragedy for their own purposes. What do you think their midterm plan is? Because up until recently, you know, as per your example of the Saudi Arabian visit, it seems as if they are enthusiastically accelerating over a cliff. Political consequences be damned, I suppose, what's your thoughts? Well, I think first of all, I help publish papers in the 1980s called the Grenada papers. When we liberated the island of Grenada, which spoke English, this was an island occupied largely by Africans living in the Caribbean with agriculture and tourism as there are two biggest incomes. And the communists took it over. And as the communists tried to impose communism, everything fell apart. It was a disaster. So we now know because this is how we got to the Grenada papers. Because everything they wrote was in English. So we didn't need to translate the State Department couldn't screw it up. And it turns out that the leadership of the Communist Party of Grenada, when everything was failing, would meet every Tuesday afternoon for a study group. And what they were studying was not supply side economics. It wasn't Milton Friedman. It wasn't Adam Smith. What they were studying was Stalin's writing. Now, you have a Georgian bank robber who becomes dictator of a country that covers 13 time zones, living in Moscow and really bad cold winter, being studied by African descended, Caribbean native native folks were looking around going, what should we do next? Well, what does Stalin think we should do? The reason I tell you this story is, when AOC gets in a room, she doesn't have any point of reference. But I mean, Biden's different. Biden doesn't have a point of reference because he's not sure what rumi said. But I guarantee you that Newsom Kamala Harris, barriers, other people, senator Warren, Bernie Sanders, who remember honeymooned in the Soviet Union. I mean, just ask yourself, a guy who is born who lives born in Brooklyn, but a guy who was living in the forest of Vermont. Besides to go on a honeymoon, does he go to the Caribbean? Does he go to the beach now? He goes to the motherland to the great forest of Russia from the forest of Vermont. I mean, this isn't true believer.
How AJ's Father Found Their Home in 1966
"My father gets a flat tire driving out to Long Island to go look for a good fishing spot. And Long Island, especially in that area, is right off the great south bay. Which a couple of bridges later leads you to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, fire island, Jones beach, beautiful, beautiful spots, especially back in the 60s. So gets a flat tire, starts walking down the block, calls snedeker avenue, which is named after an Indian tribe. Because Long Island is filled with algonquin and Iroquois Indian folklore. And as he's walking, he notices these model homes that look nice. Now, back in Brooklyn, it's me, my mother and my father, my two sisters, rose Lee in The Rain, living in a two bedroom apartment on 80th street, 16, 26, 80 street. Not ideal, but it was a wonderful place to be born in Brooklyn is Brooklyn and I love it to my till I die. But to think that for $24,000, he could have a home with three bedrooms and a backyard big enough for a pool. And maybe live on the water or the canal, it was too much. And my father had come up on this model home when he came back to Brooklyn, got his flat fixed, did some fishing in the area because back then, there were no bulkheads, you could walk down the street and some streets didn't even have asphalt. It was just dirt, and you get right to the great south bay, you could walk into the great south bay. Clam go from muscles, cramps, fish, and my dad did just add and came back and brought a few fish home and some clams, and he told my mom, I got much more for you than what's in this SAP. There's some homes. We need to look at. And they went back a week later or so and he showed my mom and his father, my grandfather, who was still alive back then. And my aunt Mary, his sister, where we could live, and you can imagine these people who rarely left bensonhurst Brooklyn. What this new idyllic community looked like. And it was beautiful.

Thomas Sheahen's Objection to the Big Bang Theory
"I'm talking to Thomas Sheehan. What's that Greek? Thomas she and PhD, he's the author of a book every win. God symmetry in time. Thomas Sheen, when my book came out is atheism dead. A lot of people have emailed me because they have a young earth view of things they say that they believe the universe and everything was created only a few thousand years ago. I don't have a dog in the fight. My attitude is whatever is is and whatever scripture says is true. But a lot of people who have as high a view of scripture as I do yourself and Hugh Ross and others believe in the Big Bang. What is your most basic objection to the idea of the young earth concept? Well, the scientific evidence really is very, very good that it has existed for a very long time. I look at the first part of genesis as wonderful expression in Hebrew poetry of the fact that God was trying to communicate something to people, but whoever was on the receiving end couldn't get it all straight. And they did the very best they could and they've given us the best they could in circumstances where they don't understand fully all that God wants to say. Let me tell you about a certain 20th century guy. Well, actually, he's still alive. It's all from Brooklyn named Jerry Schroeder, grew up and went to MIT. I know Gerald Schroeder, he's in Israel. He's a genius. Go ahead. Well, he came to the table with a devout orthodox Jewish religion following a certain rabbi named knock commodities not to be confused with maimonides who were more familiar with. And he said, the universe was created in 6 days and that's what my faith says. Well, in the meantime, he's got a PhD in physics from MIT, so he knows what his science is. 13.8 billion years. And Schroeder said it's up to me to resolve what appears to be a discrepancy between my face and my science.

"The brooklyn boys and make some noise. It's the podcast of the brooklyn. Boys us it's up. We're here sometimes. I think all we do is make noise and not a whole lot of sense. I walked away from last week's podcast scratching my head. And i'm like why did we really do we make any points. Did we make anyone laugh this week. I don't know. I can't sleep on i. I usually do the podcast. And then when. I go to bed after we uploaded. It's usually like later at night on wednesday right on wednesday and i and i just i always like lay there for the first fifteen minutes before i go to sleep. I'm staring at the ceiling. Like did we move the needle with our slices. No it's funny because people will tweet us and ask us questions about something from three episodes ago all behind but what you said about cheese. Yeah so we've talked about this. You guys listen. In order. By the way we have not played any listen an order jingles. And wow we should have one ready for tonight. Have one of them pearl jam. One of them yeah. We don't have here at home. But i'll have to go get them suck. You have to bring them so a skewing. Our podcast ends right baseball. The voice in brooklyn brooklyn and then. We'll great okay and breezy off the mark. Because he's at home. And i want to address that in a minute. I want to address that. Because we've got some tweets about and so scary. Says i just put this together and calming ten minutes. We'll come up with a title. I call him back he goes. I'm right in the description. We'll be talking about. I gotta go back and look at my notes and a lot of a lot of times. We finish after like seventy eighty minutes. And i'm just wiped. And i'm like what did we talk about. So it's a rollercoaster for us to know for you guys listening. Like oh my god. They're all over the place. Yes yeah we are. We all over the map. We are all over the place with someone. A listener wants did a flow chart. I one of my favorite slices a flow chart of what we talked about. And if you want to see the way this thing is it is also instagram. Scroll back a year or so at david broder blue and orange. of course it's just the flow of conversation and how it goes and how we're always we sidetrack ourselves. I i'm not gonna do it because it would be. We can't do it in the moment but like that. The the directors commentary on some. Dvd's like back in the day. Watch them indirectly though what we were thinking here. If you look at the dinosaur right and you get like the commentary you know what the director was thinking. And they'll they'll stop and they'll go look by on the wall. You may have missed this. And they give you the rundown narrate the movie that we could narrate. An you know we could do what we can be. Open up only fans page By the way the band the band is is temporary lifted. I heard about that you can. Actually you can actually upload porn fans always. They were gonna band right. But now you can you can upload porn again. They never october. It was supposed to go away ten you you did right now. They're not changed yet. This yes that's right. You can still do a director's cut where we listened to our episode and then we chime in with. That wasn't planned planned. I meant to say that. I didn't catch that. Yoga background schedule. Yeah we've tried. We've tried to be better. With streamlining right recent episodes. No we don't everytime we you and i sit down before we start. You say we should really kind of structure this gets back on it. Got it restructure. I think we should stay focused. I think he's really just make listings. Wanna talk about. That's not how do we do now consultant. Sometimes radio consultants will do. Don't ever. I don't ever want be in that box. Never come that when you get radio consultant so-so just a pull back the curtain on the the balls of my ass and without a job then then maybe radio consultant it'd be radio consultant come in charts and graphs and research and they your prank phone calls need to be three minutes and forty seven seconds that we put it into a computer and optimally we figure we calculated your entertainment segments. Should be no more than a minute. Three point nine seconds only doing two stories about singers and one story about an actor or actress here and maybe a death in a laboratory in their mixing chemicals and things in there like their bunsen burners rolling over people. Either in a room or on a computer. But there's really no good way to test people as their showering and shaving and getting dressed in the more in their car right or in the car with things going on so so if you listen to something if you listen to a song in the car you drive in baba all that was great it. Was you experience it in a different way right now is a great song sitting in a room alone and listen to a song studying it paying attention to the lyrics and deciding whether you like it that's long becomes nine minutes right or prank phone call or a news report or anything else. Yeah if you're alone and you're focused on it. It seems like forever right right. Well you're on a roller coaster like twenty seconds are you pulling up in the drive thru you. Get the kids crying in the back here. And you're you don't really you experience it in a different way and it goes faster. Well i'm going to do director's cut. Here's a freebie ready. Yeah go for what we're listening to now was not planned. It just came out of nowhere it really got. We did not play that it just happened just fell out of our ass now. Speaking of me not sinking up at the end. Because i'm on a little bit of a. You're wearing a correct that really soon. You know how we're going to get back to the fucking studio. Well we'll see about that. So david hugo he's a hollywood hugo thirty one Why am i excited for the boys to one day. Get back in the studio together. So david broder can sync up with scary jones on their intro. Altro love you guys. And i laugh every time. Scary says you're off again. That's right after. I hear the echo on brooklyn. Because you you hear and then. Capi kaplan kaplan capi. He says that goes double for free ship for us. The jingle and David says i was trying to figure out how to type brooklyn and then brooklyn an year and for how it comes across but couldn't now but yes the free shift furniture. Here's a little backstage had with. There's been another podcast. We would have edited it. And i would've i would've sync up the tracks to make sure hits it right but as you know this is like a live to tape podcast where it just falls out of our mouths right on. And you're hearing things on edited. We don't podcasts. I would suggest listening to last week's episode. I believe it was one ninety three eighty three walk on walk. Dog walkers and talkers podcast because the way we end every episode is i say jamie time it is. She's what time is it. And i say it's time shut that shit down because that's the line from megan from the walking dead right. He says no excuses. I will shut that shit down and we have shirts that say it. So that's how we end the podcast. So i say jan. What time is it. She says what time is and i say it's time and we both say to shutting down but i said she.

It's fine if that's no. But here's the thing. So i am diagonally across from where i normally have my little. My little table and microphones set up. Yeah and boom arm. So i'm over by the storage racks of photographs. Yeah and i'm near the air hockey machine they table. It's fine no diagonal. I've heard about that converted a couple of speaking volumes fans along the way and i'm sure the both of us have converted a lot of big show fans to this dog so Hopefully we have converted some of our fans to the big show. Because i know that it works from both directions right and we're not the big show. We don't have a show so true. Make sure you listen to the big show. Absolutely the big show. Elvis duran show food on the table off. Yeah you know being that is going to be a hundred five degrees. i have a question For pet owners like yourself when you dogs do go outside do do. They not like do not do they. Not like the heat on their paws. They go out to know. They're not walking on sand dude. They're walking on grass. No but if they walking on concrete asphalt. I'm talking about where we're from brooklyn. It would assume if they walked on. Scotty house them right right so i walk on the we have a lawn right. So we walk on the grass and i. I didn't let them walk on the on the driveway. Because i knew it'd be hot. So i yeah i let them do like quickly go to tonight. Brought them back in the house. Duma thing duma thing to do this thing they did everything they ran back here now. I i'm planning. I'm planning on getting a dog now planning pools and planning pools. Not one second hold on if anything's an indication of great friends you go to baseball stadiums without me. And that's my thing so let's not. Let's not throw stones my friend. You have a wife and kids. You can't get away from your family. I can get away. Because i live by myself and i don't answer to anyone so i can just leave us. Shit happens departing lot when i got there. The front i dunno. It's like Three rows that line up with the frontal kohls. You're big strip mall. There's lots of rose but three of them lineup with the entrance. Like if you wanted to park at kohl's okay. You'd go to one of the three rows that are close to the entrance and i noticed that the first three to four five spots in each rower mostly empty from a distance so i go all right silly dion yep so i figured i well a couple of them have to be handicapped spots but after that you know. They're not going to have forty because each stock..

"Stairmaster. Doctor is at home. Well then, shouldn't we do this? As the Brooklyn Boys at homes I, yeah I think we should add at home to our title. I also think that plays the sympathy card where two different homes though said should be at homes. or You, I both at home yet that way all right, but then it sounds like he's at home, but it sounds like we live together. Doesn't it? Yesterday against me. No just would live together, so it's at homes, but then it sounds like oh, but it sounds like we multiple homes, or does it sound like sounds sound like street slang like what's up homes? Brooklyn boys at homes and what that sound that sounds worse best now it's the Brooklyn boys at home and people can draw their own conclusions report like parentheses. They're at each. Other's their their their own homes. The titles already too long. See screwed up. That's why we'll will never be a success brody. That's why it's the. Parentheses punctuation and proper things in the title like we have to have. I mean Mr Grammar Nazi over here. Yeah, but brody but listen I'm I'm with you at the grammar to? Some the most successful songs ever written have parentheses of the title. Had, some of the most successful songs ever have bad grammar in them yet. Magin that most of them do by the way so one of the groups. My wife is in on facebook is a town. Everybody in the town joins it. And a town facebook page like let's say you lived in Oshkosh. Wisconsin you join the Oshkosh? facebook group than everyone in your town. Heart of the Brooklyn's in the House facebook group or you? I was part of a couple of. Groups from our old neighborhood and I found the politics to be so offensive. I had. I had to get out. I Love Them. I'm also I. Know Leonard on facebook called when am radio ruled the world. It's much a radio GEEKS, posting black and white pictures Oh, my of old radio boards and audio consoles and studios from the nineteen fifties sixties seventies. It's hilarious. Yeah. I'm not doing that anyway. As I was saying so one of the people in the room when on. Keep him on this facebook. When on his facebook, Brooklyn's in the House Group. This is facebook a group? My wife belongs to in house anyway. Woman went on a rant that had to be about fifteen paragraphs. About the current situation were in pandemic, wise and quarantine wise, and it is an important as to what she was ranting about although I, found her rance to be quite absurd, but my my one of my daughters was reading it because we found so amusing. And my daughter was doing an amazing presentation over the top acting it out. It was great, but the woman in this rant she's talking about. A bunch of things I disagreed with but I didn't say anything. Because my daughter was on a roll, and then the woman, the woman the ranch says, and it seems like a nightmare a never ending groundhog's Day. And so in the middle of my daughter reading this fifteen paragraph rant I said I gotTA. Stop you there a second. It's Groundhog Day. So. That's you shows you. I can't turn it off. The ground hugs groundhog's Day. It's GROUNDHOG's. It would have if said GROUNDHOG's Day. They're hugging the ground. No, no, it's groundhog day, but it is groundhog day. A lot of people get that wrong. They surprised I'm not surprised. I'm. America would say groundhog's Day, but I know it's groundhog breath, but my point was I was correcting my daughter reading someone else so i. don't even knows rant as if it mattered, but I felt like I didn't want anyone in my family to ever say groundhog's Day, so I said I have to stop you there it's. Is it right back to that woman immediately and let her know what's groundhog. Day and my family turned to me and said out of that fifteen paragraph rant. That's what you got out of it Mike. No I got everything else out of it. She's crazy woman, but she also wrote groundhog's Day and that bothered me more didn't Bill Murray teach US anything. Oh, what a great movie Groundhog Day say Zillion Times in the film. That's right. That's right. You pay attention. You actually learn things that's right, and you can correct yourself in life. Well, people pay attention to this podcast, which is why we bring stuff up, and they're often very appreciative of the stuff that we the knowledge we impart them and the stupidity I. Don't WanNa. Make it sound like what we do is is Grimaldis. I do between in-between the serious stuff, but we're not serious I, do want to I, do want to give an educational tip to our our listeners One of them looked down your pants. Oh, boy I. Do have knowledge even down there, anyway. one of our listeners complained to me about the little tip, but okay. You didn't complain. Anyway one of our listeners complained to me in DM which we get a lot that we tell people to listen in order to the podcasts yet the iheartradio APP. Goes in reverse order so it it'll play episode forty two. And then it'll play. Episode Forty one next it goes. It goes down the list rather than up, so I said you know what I've complained many times. It's ridiculous. So I reached out to our Paul Rob in iheartradio, and I said Hey rob His screen shot of DM I just got. When are we getting an update? You promise the update a year ago, so he says we're talking about. We update like almost a year ago at this point. What are you talking about people's? Lamented maybe somebody forgot to hit. Send, so he's I. said I, don't see that option. Also My other complaint is that we don't get notifications of new podcasts until Monday morning, but scaring I and my walkers and talkers. We post on Wednesday or Thursday. And so. It's of no value to wait until. Monday, to tell people, he said no, they go out immediately. I said that's that's not the case I. don't get updates immediately, and you don't have to tweet me I. Know that there's a problem anyway. So he said as far as listening in order. We took your suggestion and we put it in. So I said I. Don't I don't have that a widow. I find that, so he sent me a screen shot and I said that must be an iphone. I don't I have android. Maybe it'll do it for android. He says no this screen shot of an android. He knows Evan Android I so I, don't see that he says well. What version of hardy on I said eight point eight? He said road up to nine point one. You did not your phones updating. He said well easily get well my phone updates, but not that APP, so I have three phones. I have a work phone that got years ago. I have the phone I used before this phone..

Expect at jobs jobs that he was about to quit he got very brazen Guinea Woodham command example. Remember well when he was on when he was working for a I guess it was a grocery store. And they had the price guns keep like on his way out. He deliberately went and like re re priced items and much cheaper than they really were so that eventually they would they would slowly find out about his mistakes. So we'll have to schedule my mom. Today's Day pull up our text message screen. Look for some Brooklyn Boys Slices now I've says we can put them on the air right now Yeah I'm going to hold off on that this week. Why don't we do that next week when we can tell people what they were recording and have people text in? I'd like to do like an all request lunch. One of those. You know one of those like hey give. Here's an episode where you take over and we answer your questions. Oh you know what We could do is zoom. We do a Brooklyn Boys Zoom. Who you know what I'm GonNa tell you what Elvis tells you every time you suggest something for the show. I don't want to start a design room with a hundred slices right. I want to get some video going and we should do a pot and we could record the screen so we could make do a podcast live between you and I could switch back and forth and it could be amazing. Remember that they were supposed to do in person. You and at that club Comedy Club. Yeah we're we're still hasn't happened. What was on hold on? Hold Okay but until then we can do zoom room and we can do like Brooklyn Boys Lie. Will you route all the radio through? Yeah will you you not listening to the podcast? I wanted to reset that the out the outlets for right okay. Can I go. Yeah okay. Look we talked about this before episodes ago and that was over a month and everyone who is an electrician was ever walked in the Home Depot has already informed and explained what the deal was. The reason why alligator upside down is so so so that if something falls straight down the wall and knocks the plug out. It'll hit the ground plugged first. So you won't electrocute burn down the highlight we all know that he active pieces of the to the left and the right. When was that when was that email sent just about less than a week ago. Okay so then. They're not up to that episode yet also just as a reminder. You got a three day window after that probably all other listeners. And he's self corrected live on the big show. Well if he's self-correct wouldn't accept plain milk would have just said milk milk but you never know most Jacobs wrote to our facebook page And you can. I said I'll look it up later and don't tweet me like I was nothing like I was crazy. I blame guys for that. My mother was born in New York and Italian and Italian and Jewish Hashtag tribe and is definitely a free dessert. Kind of woman if you know what? I mean. Quick story about that one time. She bought a watermelon from the supermarket. Got Home cut it open and they were seeds. She went back to the store. Got A refund new watermelon and made them cut it open to show her. It was seedless Hash Tag. Free Dessert Free Desserts. That that's been they David. That's not. That's not free dessert. You gotta get some genetic at two enough to give her a second watermelon right. That's were free all the way back to get to exchange the watermelon and all the gave her was what she paid for originally. That's a free dessert. Not Free Dessert. Well the universe balances out now because that other email you read gottfried dessert for no reason. So they're okay. I found out. Okay he is the tweet. I got from Daniel Danish Rod. "Out of that. Episode one twenty two, it's. Boys podcast. Buddy with us. David Brody in his basement. And I am coming to you live from my apartment in Jersey, city. Where I got a brand new system finally up and running okay. Can we just address the word finally real quick? I finally means at last. Send Him. Yeah, I know what the word means. Here's the problem with the words. The what do you mean? Okay? Today is Saturday yet. We are recording the Thursday Brooklyn Boys podcast on Saturday true, the cause of your new fangled equipment truly second. Because, okay, you appre setting it up and Saute. Then Friday you didn't return any of my phone calls or text messages when I was saying. Hey, let's podcast today Why was that scary? Well. It's funny that you ask because. What happens is when you put a new system in. And everything's electron and everything's on a computer and I don't want to bore the audience with the Minutia of it when you put a system in. Then you computer says I. Don't like that system I'm not going to communicate with it unless you upgrade me. and. So there's a domino effect of bullshit that ensues. You introduce new equipment to a current ecosystem, and that's the best way I can put it without getting too technical and boring you with the details, so what as a result of me trying to get my equipment to talk to my computer? And my computer to talk to the new operating system. It was a cluster Nelson. You know I'm a fan of Apple. I love apple the death. But. But because the system that I got with my with my equipment, which by the way you got to admit, I sound pretty fucking good. Right sound good get to that part in the second I some would say the microphone sounds great. This is okay so so when I decided to upgrade. Put that system in Mike. The the operating system people said. No. We can work with that. You've got a now. Upgrade to the current apple operating, system And then I. Had already done that. Well I'll tell you why we hadn't I hadn't already done it. Because my editing Sarah software pro tools, which you is an industry thing that we talk about all the time artists use it to record their music and everything. Yeah, it's a great. It's a great. The Workhorse of the production studio for broadcasters and for artists and musicians. It's all you need to know. Anyway. Pro Tool said. Buck you I? Don't WanNa be on the new apple of grading system of graded system, so I had to have a guy remote into my computer screen share for six hours. To get the pro tools system. My new equipment with the microphones and mixer and stuff an apple. IOS To talk to each other that in a nutshell because you just can't change one. You have to change everything. And that is something that I learned the hard way and I'm sure that some people have gone through similar things. In there you know in their upgrading lives right, but it's like a new piece of equipment doesn't WanNa talk to this other piece of equipment. Because it's yeah, I get the fuck you. You upgrade to the latest right who used to I tunes. Who's the one that used to send it out? Every Fire Fox tunes every fucking three days. You do you want to install the new to? Do? You want it something like that. It's like because if you don't then you are up for a security breach because there's patches and. Bug Fixes. That's my favorite. When the download store the apple, it's like oh an update for seven. My APPS and I'm looking at what they've introduced the new features, bugs and fixes fuck you. Bugs and fixes yeah, bugs and fixes by the way is a nice way of saying. We installed ads in the software, or we took out the feature you liked and left you with not what you wanted right because they never improve the APP they only make Shittier. Bugs and fixes means. We're GONNA fix the glitch, but because we can't use the take the glitch out and make it work right with the cool stuff. We're GONNA take the cool stuff out so that it works right? It's like it's like my car has a problem. I'll take it to the mechanic. He says I gave it back to you. You no longer have air, conditioning or radio, but it runs great now. Awful. That's not what I wanted. I wanted to fix. The cars was yeah. Bugs and fixes, so there were bugs that worked with the air conditioner, so just roll your windows down. Yeah, so in a nutshell bugs and fixes I was chasing. Chasing my tail for like six hours to try and upgrade everything so all the bugs and all the fixes came out of it so now that's a lie. That's that's a blatant loy. Why? Because Today on Saturday we were supposed to start recording at two o'clock, and then when we when I called you bugs and fixes again once again, bugs and fixes. Yes, so we've spent by the way bugs and fixes my favorite morning show from the eighties. We have now spent. An hour and a half. Yeah, with your bugs and fixes, and to which I I sent you a text message last night. Yeah, I, said I spent four hours on a microphone I. Have Neither Bugs Nor fixes story about so thank you. You spent a more than ten times. My my microphone and bugs fixes. So well, yeah, because he got, the equipment got too sophisticated for my current environment windows. Sorry! Okay there. You got a case of the covert. Their Brody I was I was choking on my superior operating system windows. Ninety okay because I thought. Maybe you should see a doctor. You WanNA BE WANNA, facetime, your real quick by the way that that's become like the catchphrase now and I'm much. What's that? If you if you have any any fees or blink, people forget it people like. He's.

Maybe you guys could come over for some drinks just a couple of hours before you guys no harm in that right so bad week last week it was like. Oh let's go to everyone's got a couple of going to have dinner together. We're going to take out or or get catered or or have cook or something so you think that ought guy with foam. Oh and I can't sit still and I can't. You know I mean. This guy is mute times ten. He's legit going crazy. He sent me a Texas morning saying. Hey maybe you Falco Wanna get together just the three of us at my place and we'll have dinner and drinks and some laughs so I'm sitting here like Oh man. I don't know if I should do this. I mean I don't WanNa do this because I'd be. I'm going to break the streak. I haven't seen anybody you know so so I don't think I'M GONNA go. I have to say asking people to come over your house. All on is kind of a kind of a Dick move. I know a guy now that you tell that story. Yeah who just. He keeps asking me to come over his house he. He just bought a very expensive piece of podcasting equipment for his house. Right shut us all excited about saying you should come over to my house brody and we can do the podcasts from here. How great would it sound? I got to microphones and all equipment. You should come over. That guy is right okay. First of all we're serving the greater good. The people listening. It's much better. It's much better if the two of us were in per person together I should risk risk getting corona virus. So we can make the podcasts on a little bit better and I could be a hero. Shout out to the podcasters who are keeping their podcasts quality. Sound up to standard not about the sound. It's about the dynamic. It's about listen. I know we're making the best of the situation right now. You and me getting together when we've both again when I assure you and me me and you and I would I him and me them in her altogether doing all those people together if it weren't dumber fucked but if it's just the two of us doing just the two of US I don't have that sound. Sorry if the two of us were just hanging out in a room together doing a podcast and we've both been self quarantining. No harm no foul see here. And that's what I'm saying. Yeah no I get it I get and we. We definitely play off each other better. When we're in person. I hate doing this over this law. I don't feel comfortable right now. I know I know last week I was saying. I'm used to it from my other podcast. But I think after listening to last week's Brooklyn Boys. Something is missing when the two of us are not in the same room but other podcast I can do remotely because it's a little more even keel share and say how chemistry and interact is more relaxed. And she's I get it was so I better. I can yell at you more when I'm looking at your face. I understand what you're saying but did I mention I have a fireplace? A fake fireplace right now. That is heating up the room right in front of it which I don't have we. We work in the studio. So I'm looking at this roaring fireplace. Which maybe I'll post a picture of at some point it's a it's a three D. image of logs and like a projected image of fire. And boy it makes me feel like I'm GonNa Cabin in the woods. This is fantastic. Each your heart out. I said sarcasm just a little bit so by the way speaking speaking of sarcasm I may. I put up a post today. I think it was today. It was this morning or late. Last night was late last night. I put up a very very sarcastic. Post right it was a very pro governor Cuomo New York Post because I think and many people think that Governor. Cuomo's doing a great job and it was blatantly sarcastic. Get three people were like. Oh No I think he's doing a great job or if you think. He's bad our governors worse. I'm like Oh my God. It was the most positive sarcastic. Tweet ever people. Don't get sarcasm these days right so. Somebody said there should be a sarcasm orgy like when you put it into people know that you're being sarcastic so we need to figure out what. Emoji would be good for sarcasm. Well the one with the SMIRK. The SMIRK that exists is is actually as close to sarcasm as possible. It's like It's like almost like a a smile. Maybe a wink wink. Wink could work sarcasm. Is You don't say that was sarcastic. You just say it and people know you're being sarcastic. Hold on. I'm gonNA Google Sarcasm Emoji. It already exists. But you just don't know it yet you don't you know. I totally don't know it exists. Hold on no. I'm talking about the you're being sarcastic. You see what you're doing here you try and I. You didn't see me wearing sarcasm EMOJI. Yup this one this is the one. What does it say? What does it say? This is totally the sarcasm? Okay the sorry. Yes if you type in sarcasm Emoji it could be one of three. The upside down smile is a Sarka is considered sarcasm. Oji that's Brown okay. The the one with the the guy with this too is looking up. Can Be used as sarcasm rolling it. Can You roll your eyes? It could also be sarcasm. Haven't you know? And then the one that I said the smirk like the the sideways and people should just understand sarcasm and not on tweeting it sarcastic the icon is with the. It's Kinda like a crooked smile the best way I could put it. We do a podcast for audio joyner. What the sideways sideways smile. Yes I'm sorry missing. You're messing up my emojis. Now I don't WanNa send a sarcastic comment and people like. Why is this guy? Sending me of China Emoji. I don't get it by the way speaking of being misunderstood so I my facebook is in public. It's just for my friends and family and so all thank thank God it is. It's just for your family. Don't want that escaping out to public. No okay but I just tweeted something. That was that happened on my facebook page. And so what somebody? I worked with many years ago in Brooklyn Tag Media Post. We were going back and forth about something you both agreed on on this particular political thing and her her seventy eight year old aunt puts up something that was very anti one side of the political spectrum. And what she wrote was a ludicrous thing. She was accusing one of the political parties of doing. It was ludicrous. And it was like one ludicrous thing on top of another on top of another which I mean. It was so unbelievable right. And she's like that's why those people suck now. I'm part of that. Half of the country that she said Suck and so. I googled the story to see what she was talking about. And it comes from a website called the Babylon Babylon being which is basically another website. Like the onion that writes ridiculous story. Just yeah and so. This woman was ripping apart half of the country. Because of this story which is a comedy facetious sarcastic story satire. Tyre Tyre website. My God I love it. You have to be able to identify what's sarcasm and what isn't and what what is satire and what is it like or what's a parody speaking of parodies I know we usually do the unused jokes. The unused punch lines but didn't then we have an unused parody from earlier this week. That's very before you play that. I just got a tweet from the nurse this just in happening just in this just in and I've never been so happy to be wrong before and so I texted her my response right because I voiced tax most of the time and when you voice text sometimes the wrong they are is not in the response properly right so I wrote her back three text messages explaining myself and she wrote back grammar. Police use the wrong there. So so the oldest good to the nurse that corrected my voice tax first of all. It wasn't my fault but second of all I love you and I'm so happy that you still have a sense of humor. Please stay safe at work and please continue to save lives. Thank you very much so slice for life. She is a slice for life and I. I am tinguely excited right now. That she is not upset and that she's doing the kind of work that she that she does. Anyway that being said yes unused jokes so I wrote a song for the morning. Show that Elvis didn't feel was a good fit for the tone of what was going on. So you know. Everything fits our podcast. So I wrote this. As a tribute to what? We're all going through so enjoy. An unused parody on the first day of quarantine. My True Love said to me fun on the second day of my true love said to me Laura out there's no end to quarantine inside on the third day of quarantine much love said to me. See me. There's no end to quarantine inside on the fourth.

"I can't believe this Brodie I. I'm sitting in my basement about five feet away from my washer and dryer which are not running right now. Otherwise you'd hear them and I'm sitting in my apartment and I got a beautiful sunny day and my air conditioners broken. I just realized it. And it's seventy five degrees. Oh perfect yeah you don't you don't realize you're conditioners not working until such time as it gets hot out. Yeah that thing where it did that thing where you know. The first gust of air came on and it blew out all the air. That's been sitting in there for six months. That musty disgusting Air Right and then it cleared up but it never went cold so now I have to call the people at the front desk. Looks like I have a project this weekend. Well what six my air conditioned not like? You're stuck in your house or anything like that that you need air conditioning. Yeah I mean I have so much to do this weekend for those people who are listening to this a year later after we recorded it. We are in lockdown. We're in the middle of the week. One of quarantine for the corona virus. So I'll say this is a special corona virus edition of the Brooklyn Boys Yeah it feels kind of weird. We've never first of all. We've never done our podcast outside the studio. We've always been there. Never done it from our houses. Now you know I have another podcast. Which plug right here. Sure speaking volumes podcast with share and scary. You might have heard it. Maybe not and that's okay if you have it but maybe you'll discover it now. I like that. We share top billing. They're very nice raw. She's she's a woman. Women always win right. I'm just a lowly guy you know and all I do is man's splaine things anyway on that podcast. That's true. I've heard. Yeah so what you know. And we regularly do our podcast. She does from her bedroom. And I do it from this very microphone at my apartment so I'm feeling at home right now. It's just a little bizarre that we're doing an episode of the Brooklyn Boys. This way yet is kind of weird. I mean I never had a basement when I lived in Brooklyn so I guess Moving up or down in the world. I guess you look at it now. How can you be David Brody in your house with your wife and kids Well my wife and One of my kids are at the Jersey Shore. Right now oh. They're walking on a boardwalk to get some fresh air because there's nobody there they just sent me like sure there's the beaches are empty. The boardwalk is empty. So not that keeping US. So their social distancing from everyone so that is good One of my kids is two floors up Doing homework so And the rest of the rest of my family out really so when you get into your yelling mode where you start ranting. Kids not gonNA come running down the stairs. Like what's what's your dad know. My family is well aware of what this podcast is like. And I told him I'd be down here so I said no laundry gets on while I'm down here. Don't expect to use the basement so they everybody knows that you know what I do and listen. They live with me long enough. You think I only rant on this podcast Iran at home too. So it's nothing new now. Can you take us on a quick tour of your basement? Who is it? Marc Maron or Joe Rogan. Who Records in a garage? A BIG MAC. Marc Maron Does. Both of them are more successful than we are. So I don't know but I mean I think it's Marc Maron who start his podcast in like a tool shed or something and it's very wildly popular and then now the podcast with the tool shed so it works out right. Oh don't talk about Jamie Walker. Not Talkers and by the way speaking of which yes. I saw that slick move. What if you you? You posted an episode of Walkers and talkers to the Brooklyn Boys Channel and it was only up briefly. Yeah only overnight Yup and then and then I noticed that you you waited for a long time to to take it down and people were like texting you on twitter. Hey Brody you put up an episode of walkers on the Brooklyn Boys Channel. I'm beginning to think that you did that on purpose. Like oops well. I'll tell you what it was partially on purpose and partially a mistake in not in that order So I I ended up recording late last night after my family was upstairs in the basement and Jamie's not on the podcast so I had to do it alone. Do the editing put into music After the fact and I was half exhausted from the morning show and so I- uploaded it On the software we have. There's a website you have to click on the podcast. You want uploaded to and I was thinking about. It's Thursday and we normally do Brooklyn boys accidentally went into the Brooklyn boys folder. And I upload and I- labeled it I created the you know the description of the podcast and I hit upload and I and I published it without thinking and then when I saw it finished I went. Oh it's on. The I was so exhausted. I didn't have time to do it again. I figured what eleven twelve o'clock at night most people won't see it. I'm getting up for the morning show at five. Am and I'll fix.

And I wasn't there. Which is doubly. Why no one would think like I didn't wanna go. Yeah. I really wanted to go to this event. So I feel tired. I'll be there next year. Belva says the true philanthropist. He he just he's super generous. He got us all in right bid on a couple of lots. Yeah. He wanted couple of nice nice. Yeah. He got he. And and the thing about cookies, cancer and Schefter could cancer. I know it will move on after this day. I is that it is one of those organizations where the highest percentage possible goes all goes directly to funding. They do. Well, they right whereas some charities and organizations it's a lower percentage. Of the of a dollar. It's like ninety eight cents on the dollar. I mean, it's ridiculous. Which is why Elvis loves it so much and why intern we all love some if I can be there next. Actually, if I could just add one thing real quick. If you guys are interested, or whatever, I don't wanna feel two thousand tweets about what kind of cancer. How that's personal to me. I'm sharing that for the story. And that's you know, whatever I just don't start hit me up with a lot of questions. It's a personal part of my life that I share in bits and pieces. Sure. So if you were a kid. Yeah, I was. Yeah. It was two years old until I was nine seven years I to deal with it. And thanks to research. It's much better. When I had the survival rate is much better. It was twenty percent when I was a kid and now it's like eighty five ninety percent survival rate. God bless God. Bless God bless research. Really? Yeah. And the fact that my generation pave the way mistakes were made or whatever back in the day or things they learned from the whatever it's all great. But anyway, I want to get like, oh, what'd you sound? Like at Twitter thing world, I'm going to tweet out what please don't. Anyway this. This is a great event. "Brooklyn dot dot dot up. They make it noise. Thought about if that showed seventy six we're both out of both speakers this time. But we're in this shitty studio. I don't want to have the problems we had last week and we'll catch prior. I hate this studio. This is the backup studio, ladies and gentlemen, and we're recording on a Friday. And yes, we have to address the problem about us coming out of left speaker right speaker, which is now fix. So if you go to seventy five you're not gonna hear the problem that we downloaded it was a problem, by the way, shutout the Henry and a couple of the people there like oh Henry yet. No Henry Henry, oh, the levels with this. And the sound was this was left, and right, and that's dutiable, blah. It's just for the record. None of that has anything to do with the studio. That's true. Okay. When we record the audio into protons, which is a digital programming system. I record it right in here. I'm already bored. Yeah. I know and you have two choices you can bounce it in mono, which puts everything on one tracks. Everything's and all your ears. We compound sit in stereo which separates left, and right and scaring thousand stereos scary. Gotta bouncing mono in the studio. Not bouncing Sterry only because I'm not used to working in this studio in the others ninety suckers the studios bad, right? Say different version in this studio when you out in stereo, it bounces left, right? So we I didn't know that. I am because I recorded us on separate track now to make it easier..
