"12 minutes down from the nine o'clock. All they knew was a nine Henry Lake and late night with producer Chris Tubbs. You're on a Thursday. Twins tomorrow night. It'll be twins and the White Sox Game one of the 2020 season a 60 games sprint to the finish line and not quite as much pressure because it looks like 16 teams eight. In each league. You're going to get into the playoffs. This fall division winners and the runners up in plus the seven and eight feed. Ah, by record in eventually get into the playoffs. So how about that one game underway there in the sixth the Yankees lead, then add Cindy's C 4 to 1 later, Giants Dodgers. Jose Maria's on the mound tomorrow night. Our pregame show begins at 6 30 Chris Atteberry, Corey Perlman. Stan glad with all the play by play tomorrow night, and, of course, Henry Lake with final pitch your calls and your reaction to the action. They're playing golf at the TPC of the Twin Cities. You're number two of the three M Open No Spectators on the grounds, but I have photographic proof. He was on the grounds today. Jay's Frederic of the Pioneer Press, Jase, how you bad? Hey, pretty good about you. Yeah. Good. Good, Lovely day. I was at a ball game at the university in Northwestern today, and I saw on Twitter that you were out at the TPC of the twin cities. Perfect day for golf from the scores reflect that. Yeah, it was. You know, the wind was minimal on DH. Yeah, The conditions were just beautiful. And this is a course that People scoring on pretty well last year, too. I think 21 under was the winning score for Matthew Wolf. And now you look at conditions were great today. There's no fans. And if anything, that kind of takes a little bit of pressure on guys a person guys say that, you know, you know how much people standing around the green gun parts and whatnot. I think it could lead this really low scores all week. We'll see how it plays out. But today I mean, you know, taking it to eight under seven under six under a lot of people doing at a big group of players think that does kind of speak to the conditions. Yeah. Richie Warren. Ski I I follow golf weekend week out. Keep an eye on the tour. The world rankings, a FedEx Cup points. This is a guy that I haven't heard off. I mean, literally. He's at eight under par, goes out in 63 today, and he has a one shot lead over Michael Thompson, a relative unknown, Jase. Yeah, you know, and you're not alone. I think a lot of people in the media room we're saying the same thing. Richie route truancy. Who's that? You know, and you quickly try to scramble. It's like all right. What he did before with his story, But you see that, especially at you know these tournaments where the scores go lower guys are capable of having you know. Good round when birdied are available. Really kind of anybody can have a great day. It may suffer courses where you're fighting for bars and things where it's more like a criminal cream kind of rises to the top pretty early on, But you know, he put himself into a lot of good classes and you know, I'm set himself up to at least compete in the tournament. But You also see like the Matthew also defending champion six, honor, Tonino, six under. I think you put those guys more in the in the favorite category here, but we'll see how like you. No guys like like Traynor, we're in a hold up. Yeah. Among the big names Brooks kept Ah, one under par kept is one of those guys who seems to excel on those really difficult courses were pars. A good score were You know, Brooke Brooks isn't known as one of these guys who's going to go out and make a ton of birdies and his frankly struggled a little bit in this game. I won't condom out in the majors. The scheduled the PGA is the first coming up No Open Championship across the pond, the Masters and the U. S open scheduled for later in the year. One other big story that comes out of today may be the biggest does Tim Johnson struggles and he's out. Yeah. You know, he was going on just fine. But then you know, he played the back nine first and there you go Selling it. Okay, Cliff, I think like one under it at that point, and then 17. He puts it in the pond makes double bogey gets 18 and he said, You know, second, I think from the fairway and he thought, you know, he's as he hit it. He had no concerns about that ball going in the water and the wind conditions like it's ever minimal. On and then he comes up short, brilliant to hit again from you, you know, just out upon and goes in the water again and does it again. It's like a tin cup kind of moment. We put three in the pond. Force when he sticks out like a foot in pretty much kicking in for his nine, So I got up and down, Save nine. That's good. You know the rest of the round. He just didn't really seem to have it. I don't think his heart was in it at that point score was six over. I think after that, that 18 hold where you put the nine in, you know, and from there His last three rounds, not memorial. He went 80 80 and then he goes 78 today on what's supposed to be a relatively horrible course. So I'm not exactly sure where his game is that because he just one like a month ago at the travelers. Rosalie, surprising to see him any withdraws later on in today, you know, injury, the severity of those kind of injuries that you have a bad run. Who's to say Maybe it was something that was bothering him all around? Maybe just kind of want to get out of there. You know, but it's one of those things. It's kind of disappointing because you know there aren't a lot of big names this week, but jobs was one of them. I was a little bit at least fun to see him play at least one more round, but it won't come to fruition and No. Well, he kind of where his game goes from here. Yeah, in guys like that. They probably get on the private jet their home already. I brought that up earlier in the show. It's kind of like 78. You know, I'm you know, seven over par on the round. I'm trailing the leader at this point in time by 15 shots. I have no chance to win and at his point in his career, if you can't come into a three I'm opening content. Why bother? Yeah, exactly. You know, And I think he's been here since like Saturday night. So he figured he'd spent enough time Minnesota and he was ready to move on. You know, they've got the WGC next week and then PJ Championship after that. I guess almost bigger fish to fry and everything that he could start focusing his attention on it trying to get a game, right? One of the old guys. Tom Lehman, designed the course with Arnold Palmer of the late Great Arnold Palmer. Tom Lehman, a pretty good day, even par Ah, for a guy who's Definitely well over 50 years old. Yeah. You know, Tom, he could, you know, get the ball around pretty well. I think it was Charles Schwab the first tournament back on the restart, and Lehman shot 65 on day one. And now he faulted a little bit day two and two. Make the cut. But just last year he made the cut here. I mean, and these are guys who I mean, there was 40 years younger than him, who can hit the ball about a mile farther yet he just He just plays good, solid golf and gives himself chances and someday that will go in and some days they won't But even far was a good score and he's right in the mix. You know, I think three under might be the cut and for tomorrow after tomorrow's round, and maybe it'll be difficult for him to get there, But he gave himself a chance. You know he knows the course better than anybody, and he knows that play and he's a guy who can execute his game plan. So he's good around today. I know he played with Eric friend William and Tim Herron. And he won that three somehow, for whatever that was worth and you know, we'll see what you can do tomorrow. Maybe there is a Diet Coke on the line, Lumpy by the way. 1/72. Troy Merritt, still hoping to get into the PGA talked to Troy about a week and 1/2 ago. And he was hoping either a good finish at the memorial or good finish this week and he could find his way in the PGA and now he's got some work to do after his 73 today, so Tough day for Troy Merritt airplane out of Spring Lake Park and James were really tight on time. You're gonna be out there again tomorrow?.

"Thirty three yards and five touchdowns and that year was ranked by pro football focus as their number eight wide receiver on the year. I start off with that. <hes> so people understand he's actually a good would wide receiver and if you put him in a position to succeed he can do it flash forward to he signed by the buffalo bills of free agency. He seemed seemed like it was this is left for dead for any kind of fantasy value the way that buffalo has been playing the way that josh allen played where he would just chuck it deep he did. Josh allen never seemed like he was going to or last year. He didn't like those short passes. He wanted to go deep now. He's talking about <hes>. This is a quote from josh allen. We run a similar offense to the patriots because their o._c. In fact spent four years in new england before he went down to alabama going to be the o._c. And then got promoted to be an n._f._l. Offensive coordinator look at what has happened week preseason week two had five receptions two drives with josh allen. Allen is actually growing of course he's growing as a quarterback but that involves taking some of those short throws taking some of those easy plays not always having to go deep there was an emphasis of josh allen taking it easy and and dumping into the slot wide receiver similar to the way that the new england patriots is julian edelman. I'm not expecting julian edelman levels of production but in p p r league with your last pick if you're grabbing a receiver who is catching six to eight receptions every single week but that's that's free money every single best ball league. I've been doing with my eighteenth pick. I'm grabbing your and got the infection. I am in if you if you get in and obviously that's a deep league right. That's your eighteen round not. Everybody's he's going to be doing that. I don't know if kkob easily will be relevant enough to crack into. You know a a starting lineup but it's it's worth noting what's happened in the preseason. They gave him a lot a lot of money for years thirty million dollars they gave more years more guaranteed money to call beasley then they did to john brown. It's an interesting situation because beazley's been in the n._f._l. Going on dislike his eighth season and six catches a week just for context is ninety six catches a season so that would beat his career high about twenty if he if he caught the ball six times a week week p._r. Leagues he's one of those like your team has been beaten up. You need to throw somebody out there and not get a goose egg. Beasley usually seems like the reason they invested in will guarantee some level of production in that often. He's not there yeah there. There are leagues play three wide receivers and affleck's n._p._r. A._p._r. leagues and that flex position. I think cole beasley has a chance to end up in there on a weekly basis. Now these are sleepers preseason in week three could show up and just absolutely rain rain turds on this parade but i think it's very possible that cole beasley is going to be very surprising. Never wanna be church torn. No no you do not attorney storm yeah. Those are that would be unfortunate. Have your umbrella gross. My sleeper picked brave this stone. I will run that will run and i will live. Give me an awning michael gallup. Michael gallup is my first sleeper. Pack is average opposition right. Now is in the twelfth round there. It's the absence of basil's in a way and also the presence of kellen moore. I mean kellyn moore's offense is going to be so much much different than what they were running with scott lenihan and cole beasley warm ocean more downfield throws brooke brooks. You believe it right. Oh it's different offense more bunch formations more downfield throws more innovation more motion and less options in the passing asking game then you know no no more cole beasley with the target accounts that he has yes randall cobb is there but by all accounts michael gallup has been the wide receiver one and throughout camping in the in the preseason games. Amari cooper has been on the shelf. Gallup has taken advantage of the opportunity..

And on that row of knuckleheads. Their rights amend named David Brooks today predicted the coming GOP apocalypse Brooke Brooks notes that two thousand two book predicted the end of the Republicans. But in fact, that didn't happen because older, white voters and assimilated Hispanics, one to the right that made people think twice about predicting the end of Republicans. Putt, not our man Brooks. No, sir. Brooke says this time the Republican party is really doomed because millennials hate us. He says, quote, today's generation gap is based on concrete lived experience that is never going to go away. Unlike the silent generation, and the boomers, millennials and gen g voters live with difference every single day. "With one forty to go in the extra session. So we're keeping an eye on it. And it's so cool for me to give the score 'cause no has no idea 'cause he's watching it on TV now Golden State's up sixteen fifteen with a minute eighteen to go some ruining it for them. Now he likes when I ruin it as long as it's the blazers scoring other than that he's not happy about it. Brady Frank cannon is with US B K, one of the biggest warrior fans in the world. He's watching, so he's not even worried that Thompson's not getting to them right now be BK, your worriers going for the sweep you got them at all tonight. I did not play the game Ken, I did play at the other night when they were an underdog, I figured that was a gift, you know, looking at a world champion catching point, but no, I stayed away tonight didn't know what kind of kind of effort. The blazers would come with and didn't really know what to expect that a Golden State. But a friend of mine was able to get plus five hundred in game on the warriors to win outright when they were down about ten points or so, so. Whatever the result is one nineteen one fifteen with thirty three seconds left in the overtime session. So the second half now has gone over, and warriors by four Noah got plus for some now, but Golden State looking like four could be the number and that could be the four-game sweep as Brady cannon big time warriors fan. I have no problem with anybody. That's a worse, then you know, if you're a patriots fan or Yankees fan, and that that's your team you grew up rooting for them. That's the coolest, I just can't stand these people that jump on the bandwagon now if you're somebody trying to make money, you know, that's all well, and good to, because if you play a team like the warriors more than likely you're going to make money if you're able to get up or -tunities like your buddy and get a plus five hundred in game. It's just a team that find ways to win like the patriots talked about the Seattle, the Atlanta Super Bowls. I mean they find ways to win. They're just good teams that are able to do that. If you're Thompson, and you pick the times to bet on. These teams the Yankees, Alabama football, New England and the warriors, I swear to God Brady, Mike combine winning percentages twenty percent on four teams that have like a seven hundred winning percentage. I was talking about that earlier. I certainly understand why people don't like, the, the warriors or hate on the warriors. The same reason for the, you know that the patriots frustrate me and the Yankees, you know, and whatever, but. One. Not a lot of people realize that they, you know, other than Kevin Durant. They pretty much drafted their whole team and created this team. They did not buy this team, this was done, you know, by way of a front office. Architect thing is. I went to my game when I was about six years old. So I threw a lot of rough times before the glory days here. Of course you who was that game against you remember boy, I don't, but I remember Clifford Ray and Rick Perry and Sonny Parker. I, I think I only got to see Rick Perry in his final year, which I think was nineteen seventy six are you going, one of the greatest free? Throw shooters of all times. Just loved watching, these underhand free throws one thousand nine hundred seventeen as Portland cuts to two with thirty one seconds left in overtime. Now Portland, she just play defense here. We'll see how things pan and now it's showing one nine thousand nine hundred seventeen with thirteen seconds to go. So we'll keep an eye and see what happens here as we've got it down the stretch, Golden State trying to close it out. And then we're going to get with Brady cannon. He's a big time worse fencer will let him watch the end of this regulation here, and then we're going to get to the PGA championship on this by Golden State. So Portland's got it. They're coming down and. Let's see what's going on here, driving are going to the rack. And there is it's going to be called out of bounds. So with three two point five seconds to go. Portland has the ball down to and Seth curry is on the court. Let's see of curry can win it. We'll see what happens. But Brady cannon your guys got plus five hundred. So no Noah Parker's. Okay. He's got plus four. So right now, he's just hoping that, you know, the game ends relation though, it's probably out on Lillard. Oh, if it's out on Lillard so then that, that's not good. Let's see how it goes. I don't think so. I think it's going to be off, who's ever behind their block in the ball Jerebko, or whatever that is looks like it's off Golden State to me. But we'll wait and see one thousand nine hundred seventeen vk it's a final Inten Phillies have beaten the cubs, five to four, they get one in the ninth one in the tenth Darvish, the starter there, didn't figure in the decision area started for Philadelphia pitch very well against his old team. And the giants down four to one in the eighth. Boy, those G men, the giants have fallen from the good graces over the last couple years, just a team that's struggling for identity right now. Not exactly. The swansong Bruce Bochy was looking for. But Phillies, one I was on today. Yeah, that's good, who everybody was all four of us were on the fills over here. So that was a good comeback after squandering a three to one lead day end up getting a W so. Yeah, it looks like it's Thompson. Klay Thompson looks like it hits Claes thumb to me as their slowing down. He didn't touch it there as it's gone out of bounds. But it looked like it went through. And I'm pretty sure they're going to give the ball to Portland one nine thousand nine hundred seventeen we've got it on with no sound here. So be K if you, if you hear it if they're gonna if they've made the decision as far as who's ball it is. But it looked like it went off Thompson to me on the replay. But again, we'll wait and see if they've made a review on, if they made a call as far as on the review whole series whole season on the line. They're still looking at it over there. So we'll wait and see one thousand nine hundred seventeen in this big as far as the spread which went from Golden State three to, to know. When did you get four on the overnight? It's morning, Ed. It's morning. I got home. It was as. Nations. So went to four and yeah. Usually the favorites at the stations casinos. Will, you know, they'll lean that way over at the stations properties? You'll, you'll get better lines on underdogs especially against powerful teams like Golden State usually have to lay a premium on teams like that. So we'll see what happens there. Still waiting on this review is Pullman body. Go for the win here. Where do you go for the tie? They can't obviously did okay with them in another overtime. Yeah. Well, I mean, it's hard to say I mean last night, if I'm Toronto and I have a chance to win. I always go for the win. 'cause I've already lost Kyle Lowry. If b felon out in lost somebody else found out on the overtime so you know, it's a tough tough. What do you do Brady? I don't know. Yeah. I thought it was Portland. I go for the win. You know. Over with you want to try and just salvage one win out of this series. I don't think it does you any good to go for a time and you're, you're gonna lose this series, eventually anyway. Might as well go for all right? Well they put three point three seconds back up on the clock. It is yet to Portland's Paul three point three. So they were looking at it. I think to see how much time is left, so Portland will in down on from just to the right of the backboard on the offensive end where they have to go. So they're in the right half of the court, they don't have to bring it down court one nine thousand nine hundred seventeen Golden State leading Portland, and we'll see how this thing plays out, and then we'll talk a little PGA championship and Brooks Kapka they go for the win corner jumper. No good going. Stay grabs it. They throw it. No good. And that's it. So the game ends one nine thousand nine hundred seventeen warriors get the sweep Brady cannon, buddy picks up, plus five hundred on the money line. Noah Parker covers the plus four shady, sharp, loses the second half, I believe. Leave. Right. That was tied at one of three I think it was. Yeah. I think a win over the second half total after that overtime, I'm gonna check real quick to make sure but it looks like he's sixty. I think the score twenty in the in the fourteen in the overtime beat them by half a point. Yeah, that's not good. That's that's crushing meal hook. But let's get into the Gulf now. Be vk and Brooks, captain amazing story and maybe we don't outside of those in the in the golf world that really understand what a remarkable feat is his to win for the last eight majors for those that are watching were looking and going out kept his melting down. He's he had a seven stroke lean than six stroke lead. And you're thinking this things over, but Dustin Johnson, you know world number one player, one of the best in the world will now kept could probably, you know, right there. And so we say melting down and any wins it by going four over par on the last day. But he had built up such a huge lead that I don't think we're really understanding the magnitude of what kept has done in these eight majors. And this is a kid that didn't just walk on the PGA tour he had to go to Europe. You had to do all the stuff just to try and get onto the PGA tour over here in the states loan, behold, he's done in Bredesen, and flying colors, give you the floor man. Just talk to people about. What an incredible golfer Brooks cap gays. Well he really is. And you talked about Johnson being world number one. And sure enough Brooks has to that. That top spot in the world and deservedly. So four major victories out of the last eight that he's played in that is absolutely rarified air, an incredible an accomplishment. That is you can only talk about guys like nNcholas and tiger that have done that type of thing. And you know, people talk about, oh, you know, he, he unraveled a little bit on Sunday. Only tell you, I it's extremely difficult to put together for perfect rounds of golf, and he pretty much did that for the first three days. Maybe the third day wasn't exactly perfect. But the first two days were other worldly with a course, record sixty three sixty five he cruised to an even par seventy on Saturday. And then, you know, you're not gonna shoot sixty three again typically, especially with a seven shot lead on Sunday. So the fact that he made those four bogeys in a row that just shows that he's human, but he is a very special human. And if you think back to the. Masters. There was eight to ten guys on the back nine on Sunday that could one that thing and it was an incredible cedar for excitement. And then the ultimate happens with tiger. Woods winning found the PGA championship pretty boring. Okay. Brooks kept up pretty much one this thing on Thursday and Friday. And it was kind of over after that. And there wasn't a whole lot of excitement until he did come apart at the seams, just a bit last couple of holes there on Sunday. But there's also the entertainment value or the value for a sports fan in historians in Americans what have you that when you're witnessing greatness and Tiger Woods in the early two thousands used to dominate golf tournaments and for me it was boring. Michael jordan. He was never going to lose. It was boring. Wayne Gretzky, Jack Nicklaus. There's something boring about witnessing greatness, but the other side of that is you're watching something that nobody very few people have ever been able to do and Brooks. What he did was stunning. So let's take hold of that and not throw it by the wayside and say, oh, this was easy. It was boring. The two majors that we've had this year in Gulf have been incredible Tiger Woods wins and Brooke Brooks. Fourth major in eight. Try. Dominating fashion, incredible display of a championship medal..

"Is gonna look like a hero. I hope that Oslo burgers, not only getting to the NCAA tournament, but winning games in the NCAA JD disparately on that one should be Brian. Is that the goal the goal this UNLV running rebel basketball program, is that not? I want to hear about NIT's are going to the CBI or you know, or occasionally going to the championship game in the mountain west. Right. If you wanna be NCAA tournament bound every year, not after this year. So I'm talking two years from now. Right, JD just pointed out when they got hardy and Jenkins in that backward. I you need to be ready to roll next season, where your ear a viable team in that in this conference where you're not only contention for the conference championship, but you're going to the big dance. Yeah. So anyway, just to wrap things up. It was a fun night last night. It was nice talking to some of the UNLV staff. It was nice seeing Kevin Kruger again, talking to Lon Kruger. I said a quick Hello to him just a class act. Great, great coaches that are involved in this thing, and they're going to be a top golf tonight. It's a private event, but, you know, but it's, it's full. I mean EV. Everybody has put up the money to play in this thing. And it's just it's just a wonderful event, and kudos and graduations, salon Krueger who was on our show last week and talked about coaches versus cancer. Classic great guy, and TJ. Also, borger will be joining us tomorrow at seven thirty. So that will also be a lot of fun. Phil hellmuth. And then TJ burger it doesn't get better than that, right? It's going to be a lot of fun. I want to get to a little bit of the golf that took place over the region. Of course. Brooke Brooks KEPCO was the huge story it just appeared that he was going to run away with this tournament over the weekend. At one point, I believe he had either a seven or an eight shot lead. But then he makes four bogeys in a row on Sunday afternoon. And all of a sudden, Dustin Johnson is within one one point and then Dustin bogeyed a couple of holes in a row, and it was over with. But bricks kept guy did what he needed to do to win. I do believe he is going to win. Plenty more majors to come. Because I think his game is built for the majors. Why he hits the ball straight? He hits it long. And he has a masterful short game. Now, normally you would say that should win on any golf course. But for courses that are a little shorter. He doesn't have as big advantage when he's playing these types of golf courses. He has a huge advantage. So when you play courses like this I'm not sure Augusta National is the right golf course for him for a bricks casket because. It's not necessarily long but. I I'm a little bit surprised when I see some people in the media talking today about how they're asking the question is, is he going to be the next Tiger Woods? That is absolutely and utterly ridiculous. First of all, when Tiger Woods was in his prime, and he had a seven shot lead over the weekend on Saturday. Guess what when he won the tournament, he won by eleven or twelve. That was Tiger Woods in his prime people were afraid of this guy. Okay. Kepco bogeyed four holes in a row on the back nine now take it there were really tough conditions. It was very windy. Lotta guys weren't shoot under par Dustin. Johnson had a fabulous round until the last couple of halls he kind of faltered a little bit. But kept got is probably right now the number one player in the world, okay? He's the guy to beat in majors. There's no question. Okay. I don't know what happened to Rory mcilroy. It was nice to see Jordan Spieth play. Well again and even though he wasn't necessarily in contention. He was on the leaderboard on a Sunday afternoon. So it was nice to see speeds play. Well, Tiger Woods, not making the cut to me is not a big deal. Yes, he was five over par for the guy hasn't played. He hasn't played in the last month since winning at Augusta National. But obviously the story is Brooks kept that he did when he needed to do to win. He played some incredible golf. And if you take away those four bogeys on the back side, we're having probably a different conversation and we're saying this was tiger esque. You know, if he won by seven or eight I certainly would have said that at least for this tournament. But this was not tiger s because he kind of faltered down the stretch he did what he needed to do to win. He played fantastic off kudos to him. He deserves to be the best player in the world. But stop it folks with the comparison to tiger. Woods if the guy wins six more majors in the next two years, then we can talk about that. But let's take a break. It was interesting, though, the feel after that tournament wasn't Brian know that it wasn't a Brooks ran away and hid in this tournament. It was more about, oh, he kind of held on and got the win because there is opportunities there, we saw, we are watching Brian j d DJ was right there. And he makes a putt on that it makes that bought on four. Eighteen or or you know, doesn't have bogies of his own right on that back. Nine things could have been very different. And so there's the betting was interesting too, because, you know, you had an opportunity to teach at livas at twenty to one. When he was, I think he was like four or five strokes off in time. Got tight. You couldn't have gotten them twenty two one before the round started. But no game. Right. Chris is talking about. There's actually in game. Wagering on golf now where you can bet in the middle of around, which is kind of crazy, and you're right. You could have gotten Dustin Johnson at twenty to one. And there was a point there at the end. We're DJ was only two to one. So it will will will there was a point where books kept Gada one-stroke lead term it. But so I got a little exciting down the stretch, but Kathy. Ends up winning his fourth major. So he's up there. He's, he's the is he isn't he he's the two time defending champion, right? Yeah. I think he does the to tournaments. It's only two majors where he's defending champion, US open. Yes. Yeah. So and you know, we're gonna see a lot from this guy, as long as he remains healthy, and as long as he continues to take care of his body, which I have no doubt he will the guys built like. Yeah. He built like a super superstar bodybuilder. He's going to be one of the best players in the world for a very very, very long. It's very clear that Brian has a has a has.

"The country caffeine Franklin lakes, beautiful old place like a little bar in kind of place. Right. The best pancakes, French, toast, sausage, you'll ever have and a guy walks in. And it's pouring rain sideways. Cold rain. I remember looking at the thermometer in the car. You know tells you two degrees thirty nine. Okay. And raining like in mid-may could have been snowing. If we went a couple more degrees down, which is insane APRIL's and saints know, may I don't think I've ever seen it around here. Anyway, the point is to guys walk in not one but two and I wrote this down a little segment I'm gonna do on Mondays. Right. Make observations over the weekend. I'll share them on the air two guys. Welcome in with shorts t shirt on. And I get that at this time of year. You probably should be wearing something like that. No. And then the third guy had a sweatshirt and shorts. But then flipflops, which there's puddles everywhere. Your feet gotta be getting cold plane. You look like the type that probably wear shorts. I don't understand that at all. And I never have a it's got to be a jersey thing because I'm from Michigan and never see that Michigan. I think you're about to say to you blame the producer that this is a jersey thing. Yeah. It has to be right. And these are not like, you know, young twenty five year old kids like fifty sixty year old guys with their legs in the shorts. Look at the leg. Don't know warm because then you can't wear the shoes. You wear shorts are generally going to be flip flops, and you're yeah, you're walking in the rain. You uncomfortable. Looking at the flip flops. I was just uncomfortable. I was freezing. I was in a sweatshirt and jeans. Like, I am now actually them will more thing happened. I bought my wife a address from Brooke Brooks brothers. Right. I ordered on where lease and of course, to cause two's pretty small, very small kidding. That's like. Bitsy. She's five seven, Tom. Apparently she's zero. Zero zero might be a little bit tight on me. But two's going to hang on me. Hang up to hang on any was. Wow. Maybe isn't there a one like why are there? Why are there any odd sizes? What don't we go from Ota two zero two two because what would be perfect here? I don't know value that you have flood me there. Thank you want to leave it on that. No good to be defended. "But yeah, you'll see the Shambo leave it in almost all the time and Adam Scott on every single putts that easily get in. I never I like all of this. I never thought about it as an advantage. I guess I never thought about why the rule existed. But I'd remembering times when I was playing a lot. And I would always do that. I think always and to someone else that might have seemed strange like why if you're if you're there by yourself, would you go up to the poll and then remove the flag remembering days at Tri county when I would play like first thing in the morning every day taking the flag. I'll put it down. Go back to the ball. Put the ball. Take the ball out. Go back to the stick take the stake. Put the. Stick maga-, the whole leave like I would always do that. Because that's the rule that I'm rules guy. So I would always do that. But I had I never thought about it being an advantage to have it in. And if I did I certainly would have done the same thing. But I don't know like it's just all coming back to me and remembering those days, and so like is this just a PGA tour rule or is this Gulf now, this is golf now? It's the US it's the United States golf though, and the RA so you, and I if we want to go out and play and post a score for your handicapped, you can use that pin in rule to help you if you if you feel like it helps you some people like it visually on you know, I like it on longer pucks. That's why sometimes ask somebody that tended at least in the past which means hold it until I put it and then pull it out because I think sometimes visually it helps you on a longer ones. But I've only I've only played nine holes in buffalo so far with the weather this year this year. So I really don't know if I'll keep it in all the time or not like if that's something that. All right. Try to do to maybe improve my score in some capacity or not. I'm sure I'm going to give it a try. But yeah, you'll see some of these guys do it on longer putts or shorter putz. I think a lot of guys on shorter. Putts are still taking it out. They must have figured it out, maybe on shoulder. Plus, it doesn't matter as much. I don't know so turning the pin is really not a thing anymore. Doesn't have to be. That's right interesting. All right. Thank you, Bryan. We'll talk tomorrow. Okay. Thanks, mike. Yeah. At the master's, Brooke Brooks, KEPCO, minus five playing fifteen are not showing him for some reason as I've been watching the whole time talking to Brian in poultry, minus four playing eighteen now and a lot of good players are right there and cutting Dustin Johnson at minus three and Mickelson in rom. And Adam Scott Shambo tiger a lot of traffic. So she'll be good tomorrow and Saturday and Sunday. It's good anyway. Rickie fowler. Mine is too. I had one thought but for fantasy players today that I haven't mentioned yet always good to get the fantasy thought saying without bulldog here to make fun of me for it. So. I it's April and for fantasy football. That's not much. You have the the draft coming up the NFL draft and a couple of weeks two weeks from tonight. And dynasty leagues will draft rookies. Like ours does in June. I mean, another one that's doing that or planning on it. I think in may and that's good once the NFL draft happens. Then you can you can go ahead. And after you're done with your rookie draft. You're kind of stationary until the preseason, which is fine. And so. Like, I'm still pretty new at this. I've got about three years of experience finished football playing kind of a lot. And one thing I picked up from a friend who played a lot before me was to get your league onto a site. That's made for fantasy sports in the case of the shops and dreams league. That is RT sports. It's good. I mean, maybe there are things that I don't even realize about it that I would do differently, but it's fine. And a couple of people have asked a question here and there about it. But really, it's fine. So RT sports as opposed to an ESPN or Yahoo. Which is fine for you know, I would say like casual leagues, but for the year like the twelve year kind of thing where you're keeping players, and you know, maybe for auctions, they think it's just overall better, and you do pay them. That's what it is. I mean, you pay them. And that's not a problem. You know, everybody throws in. We've got twelve guys. It's like one hundred bucks a year someone like that. So eight ten dollars a guy, and you're you're good. I recommend that. I'm in one league that has not done that it was on. Yahoo. It's a dynasty. And this guy who set it up did a brilliant job with the the format and the technicalities, and there's all kinds of stuff to no guys around contracts and their salary cap stuff and everything it's really great. But on Yahoo. So the season ends, and it's over and there were there were trades in that league after the season was over and that was really fun. But there's no site to go to right now until it moves to like if you will a real fantasy site. So I I'm not I'm not bragging by this. But I've talked about fantasy a lot and I do get emails about fantasy sports. Like, what do you do about this? You know, setting up a league rules and just different questions. And this is one that I'm representing if you if you're going to do like fantasy. Sports for real you want to start a league, especially if it's a a keeper league or a dynasty league every year or just it continues or news go to a site like that whether that's RT sports or my fantasy sports my fantasy league. Just those kind of sites in there are probably several others fan tracks. I joined the baseball league that runs off a fan tracks and the live scoring program that site is really cool, and it just way better than ESPN. I like Yahoo more than ESPN. But really these kind of sites are better than both of those. And so I recommend doing that. And when you're league gets into the off season a good site. Like that just makes the league lot more fun because you can check it anytime you want, and you know, see what you need to see. So I recommend doing that. The the baseball thing. I don't know. What football was for me was am I gonna lose my family over this? Because I am totally obsessing about it and spending a ton of time on it. And I say all the time about baseball as much as I love it. I don't really need to watch games and Oklahoma at night and feel like I wanna watch games. It's just like I'll check the scores. The next day. I love everything about it. But I don't see I don't really like that much sitting in front of the TV on a baseball night. But now. With all with four teams and fantasy baseball. I'm doing a lot of that. When I was sick earlier this week. I mean, I was just parked watching games. I watched the Yankee Astro gain in their night that went late. I just bring it up super late. I'm watching San Diego. San Francisco watching Texas, Arizona, you're watching Texas Arizona on a school night look out, and I'm telling that to myself right now because it's look out. Get on a real site. Get your league onto a real site. I know Davis Matic a little bit through fantasy. But I've calling him today because he's written about tight ends in the upcoming NFL draft. And that's an interesting option for the bills to consider either in round one or later. So I wanna talk to Davis Matic about that from rodeo experts. Stay tuned. We'll talk some NFL draft with some fantasy mixed in probably Mike Chopin, the bulldog here, this is WBZ are even in my own home. I had my own designated space.

So his trainer put out video of Brooks before his final round at the Honda, which by the way, finished one shot out of the league. Right. I think he put up thirteen reps on the bench to twenty-five. So for those that may not know if you don't follow the combine that's one of the tests is reps at two twenty five. The green it is beyond the bunker so it's. Only going to be in the grass but suddenly the wheels. Are little bit shakey and, we didn't see this coming Well you sit there and as a player. You, make a mistake okay you take. Penalty but now you come down the problem. By missing the Green Left there put it on the green you don't. Have to be. That aggressive I'll give yourself a chance. To save par but. Now Brits capterra's got a, real hit a good shot to get it up and down Brandon stone it is tee shot at. The par-three sixteenth and Bosh should've gone in the whole for a hole in one he's got his hit. The flag it hit the edge of the. Front of the up hit, the flag and then kicked to the left wow, it's two hundred thirty two yards and we've had one hole in one today Chris Wallace knocked one in and. He's, got his cell phone out taking. A picture that's Thomas Peters Peter's taken okay And the PJ rules official. Will come in and they will repair that doesn't look at there was any damage to the edge of the Cup there, was the bar was in front of the. Whole All right and. Justin Rose finishing up his route he's got a twenty one footer for birdie. Here one under on the car today for minus five This is a downhill, got a front left whole occasion gives it a nudge. Down the slope it goes that's hanging out to the left that's gotta. Keep going. And does but just stays on the. Left edge for Justin Rose so he's going to walk up here and stay out of everybody's lying Justin Rose playing with the Molly and Zach Johnson and there's, the tap in par for, our Olympic gold medalist and he, waves at the gallery in the house. At minus, five so that puts him seven. Shots back but Brooke Brooks kept, goes out of sorts as they might say the last. Three or four holes able to scramble for a couple of cars but He has coming off a bogey and this. Is a partnership now here Carney problem. Is he's in an area where the where the rough is all, tap down he can get the club on the ball but it's hard to, judge Pop set, in the air lands on the. Great great shot this is rolling to. The hall and just slides by on the right. Marvellous touch for Brooks, Kappa and the good news for there isn't going. To be able to knock that. In but that'll be for a bogey that'll be back-to-back bogeys for our leader all of a sudden lead is just two shots and by the way Gary woodland. Said a good shot into that green he's, got another look for birdie It's amazing how quickly things. Change just a couple of mistakes Got Zack. Down below us here putting Been the greatest day for Zach Johnson played along with Justin Rose and he's one over in his round since this up. To the Cup, and that doesn't fall but we've seen I've seen so many short putts Carney from doesn't make any. Difference above the hole below the whole is? That just the nature of the greens I think the problem the players are having is there's a lot of undulation in these greens here and you downhill, or, your up till you feel like okay it should be faster and you don't want to do. Is hit it too hard to firmly and I think what is happening is. Players are putting defensively instead, of aggressively and when you putt defensively it's very hard to make pots because, you really Matt stroke in the ball you really not giving the ball the. Putts enough taste that you normally, should and then when you do. That it's, hard, to keep them online and meanwhile we we talked about that near hole in one at. Sixteen and they are still over. There Karner rules officials are. There I, don't, know if they've called for some maintenance people to come in and maybe redo the Cup We have no. Idea what they're waiting for but the ball. Landed right at the edge of. The Cup hit the flag. Kick to the left it didn't look like the Cup was damaged why they just don't fix that I know on the PGA tour the rules officials will, go up there and. They'll fix, it and again the the perimeter of the the Cup. Or the hull was not damaged it was a ball Mark a probably a good two inches short of. The edge of the. Cup and I don't pretty it's pretty at least, in my mind is pretty easy to defects. You go in there like any, other ball, Mark and you repair it and you know, that you don't you don't. Wanna change obviously the surface around the edge. Of the Cup and maybe they're a little concerned about that, Brooks kept Kaz made another bogey Gary. Woodland looking for another birdie here to closed. Deficit even more back to Maureen Thirty to either the last three this to make it. Three either the last four battling back manfully from that triple-bogey seven on the ten this is from ten. Feet it's a little. Bit off his left hand side going to swing, quite a bit just at the end of. Its journey sets it off on, it's already, swinging and missing low on the right hand, side not his best effort He will walk up on top that one in woodland is going to remain at nine under and. That is now going to. Be just two off the pace tied with Adam Scott so Gary woodland who was. Five back of his playing partner Brooks kept all of a. Sudden just two behind and they're going to these finishing holes, now that was it Fifteen and so they've got sixteen seventeen eighteen coming. Up six and, they're gonna have a weight at sixteen Carney because there's gotta be a couple of groups up there I'm looking to see where so. Because the group that Uh Yeah they were waiting, for I, guess to come, in they're gonna redo the whole. Here now they're just what they're doing is they've repaired it and they're using a flat surface to make sure the green is flat. There. Okay We're. Waiting to do that and we're getting a look at the replay that hole in one again just so the MIT near hole in. To catch things up and then be ready in. Back on schedule here for the final round of action as they as they continue to go, from Bellary country club in Saint Louis eight oh thrill five fifty one. Eight, eight five fifty to. Five fifty an hour, lead to the break but I. Do. Want to get in something very quick here. There was a a game yesterday that was at the Ivanhoe linka tournament and and, maybe we'll, talk a little bit more about this when we come back from the break as well but the Ivanhoe linka tournament I. I have to do a little. Research here on where it is real quick but I believe it is over in Europe and it's it's an. Annual tournament that's how the whole Inca Gretzky tournament this year it is held. Hold on here it's not that's not going to tell me anyway the whole Inca Gretzky tournament is held. Every year it's it's a tournament for so. The best junior players in the entire world and This yesterday there was. A game between the US and Canada it was the semi final game the US Took the lead they. Had the lead five four, heading into the dying seconds of the game okay this tournaments. Actually in Edmonton so, it's in Edmonton Canada so dying, seconds of, the game, goes into the US zone next thing you know candidate scores in the clock says zero point zero seconds and upon the replay replay. Shows, that the clock is at. Double zero and the puck not even close to. Being into the net however here's, the stipulation The officials on the ice for this tournament do not have access to. Instant replay video review so they met they they had a conversation and they determined the puck was a good goal. The goal has been scored despite the fact that TV showed that the puck did not go over the line before the clock hit, zero, so the game tactically should've ended, but they don't they on the ice they didn't have access to video review so the game. Goes over time and Canada. Ends up winning the game, in overtime sending them to the tournament final while. The. US will have to play. For third place against Russia, later on today and it just goes to show that sometimes. Instant replay would be, a very good thing to have, in instances, like this, just because hey the clock was at double zero and the puck wasn't even close to being in the net and they and it. Just, wasn't it wasn't A good. Situation for for everything and and hey the discussion we'll talk. Again we'll talk a little bit about this Dirks yelling at me and looking at me, like why aren't. You breaking right now are totally channeling Nate today, I'm channeling Howard. Simon give me a break Howard's the one that started this all and everyone caught, on fever. Mates my problem so, hey the first break I actually got you out on time so I'll. Get you shortly but let me just let me just close with this I know we make a fuss about instant replay being bad for. Sports for instances like this this, would be the. Instance where video replay. And challenges all that stuff would be. A good thing for this type of event where the clock clearly hit zero there's. No time left on the clock the puck not in the net but they don't have access to instant replay there. And they counted the goal the goal stood they went to overtime in the US ended up losing I it's not the fact that, I'm, heard about the US losing just, because they get go s go USA I'm always up for USA winning and beating Canada's especially. In hockey But That Cal goals just should not. Account that's part of the. Rules the clock had zero in the pucks not across the. Line it's not a goal for them to. Call the goal was quite. Puzzling all, right. Derek I'm going to break now sports, socks. Saturday I almost did it. There I almost did it there sports, socks, Saturday one more hour to go. Here quick. Programming, note we'll have Ryan Talbot coming up at one thirty to talk some, bills. Football we'll get his thoughts on how the bills looked on, Thursday and we'll get his thoughts on what the quarterback rotation should be looking like heading into the final three preseason games or back with one more hour here on WGN sports, radio five fifty w. g. r...
