"About the. I've heard you all say it before. Sometimes we need the organization to step in and save us as players from ourselves because by any means anthony davis. He wanted to go play k. D. a couple years ago and about one. The mcdonald's wanted to go play hurt himself. So you know sometimes we need it but you go out there and you see what you are and they have to make the tough decisions for him sometimes. like h ray we see you grimacing a little too much. We need to sit you out and and see what game six brings us and hopefully game seven we try it again but i guess his energy what trade brings to the table is important. I say to him trae. You do everything you need to do up until game day. Get your butt in the gym early. Go in the go out. There tested early behind the scenes not in front of the cameras behind the scenes. Get your work in. If it's not go get some treatment. Then come back out and you're shooting time and you go from there and the decision should be made in now. This is what i like about. Trey and i think why the basketball world not just the fans have fallen in love with the little guy that can do all the things. The reason why the basketball community all the guys here on this chain rachel. Everybody is because trae puts himself in a position of elite nece. Yes he looks around and sees james harden hobbled and trying he goes out there and sees. Anthony davis hobbled and trying. He sees chris paul and he considers himself which he is. One of those guys. And i think that's the hardest part he'd looks at anthony davis and says i expect i believe.

"Never forget the first pictures from from when the nets made the cagey. Paul pierce trade inside jason. Terry i i was an exciting time. Yeah that obama. It's weird my first memories of brook lopez. I'm like like sitting in highschool watching. Nba game time and talking about how books like the best scoring big man in the league. Did he was like i. I kind of want. I want to prod gualberto into making a video if he hasn't made it. But you already of brooks old post footwork. Like i still think he's probably other than joel and yokich. I think he's probably the best post score in the league still like we don't see it as much anymore. Obviously blake when he was in brooklyn. I mean he was ridiculously good as opposed score like he has such good touch. We're saying right now you think is yeah. I think he's out there. I would push back and say tunis's about him. Okay yes karl. Anthony towns probably above him. Did you say yokich. Yeah i said yoga. I vow judas towns but yeah i think that some that are really like about lopez he can definitely stretch the floor but also there are times the playoffs or they relied on him getting just a couple of easy baskets at the pay to t- still can do that. One of my favorite games that i've watched Bobble when milwaukee played houston in the bubble and now is one of the most fun like strategic games that i've ever seen because it really just felt like two teams just said all right. This is our one punch. We're gonna throw you and that's all we're gonna throw today and see what happens and it was. Basically every single possession houston ran empty corner pick and roll james harden and jeff green and said fucking defended and see what happens and i think they took. I think i can't remember for sure but i think they took the nba record for threes in a game. That game Or was close to it like they took over. Forty was insane but then i think brooke scored thirty two or three three points in that game in almost all that was from that he just kept getting the ball in the post just kept saying all right. We're going to dump the ball in the post. Zero playing micro ball still with roko at the five God though the bubble was really fun for basketball watching a lot of ways like you have a game. The very first game That was just like a tune-up game when it was like denver had seven healthy guys and like bulbul yokich. Paul millsap was playing the wine. Like mess with the bull takes time was unbearable absolutely unbearable. That's what we call overreacting to one game. I hope things work out for bulbul but yeah no. That was a lot on. I ask you a bucks related to question. Yeah of course. I have one last question to probably probably not discourse that you care about two much but when we're talking about the greatest plays of the season last year was a better player. You with the block on eight or the holiday. Steel leading to the alleyoop kiosk in the finals or with bananas block the steel was dope but like the watkiss. It's the fucking walkman impossible. It's it doesn't make sense. That was one of the most absurd plays. I think i've ever seen that Trying to think what else that would rank up for with me like so there's that it's not a singular play but game five in twenty fifteen or twenty sixteen. I think it was game. Five twenty sixteen. Oh casey versus the warriors. Okay she has a big lead. And then steph and klay jus- go insane. And i've never like that i..

"At six PM eastern time small news here agent was rocky just tweeted that brook Lopez guys will sign a four year fifty two million dollar deal to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks a lot of small groups are getting done no no no that's not small the seven foot tall well he's he's not small but the move itself is kind of small verses the Kevin Durant announcement which we expect to have happen sometimes tonight would be the nets will that be the clippers the warriors or the next lots of cap space with the next for more on that we welcome and Steve proper Nick's writer and and be a columnist for Newsday is with us on the shell Pennzoil performance lines do you think you're giving us some time on this very busy afternoon is the expectation with the next that they're gonna make a big splash here tonight or could be a case where they just end up with really nothing of of note I think you have me those those those expectations of really tempered from a couple months ago when garden chairman James Dolan was promising you know they've heard from stars or if they were coming and that you know everybody wants to be a part of this it's really changed now it and I think part of it was it was Kevin's injury kind of threw things into a little chaos and I I think that they've now really been kind of reading for the bottle of of coming up empty on all the stars it and kind of regroup in here with a sort of you know I I wouldn't say second here but maybe like third tier free agents where they're looking to get guys on short term contracts maybe over pay them a little bit for a year or two and keep the possibility that had yes did you mentioned kind of the next steps there for the next and I know that Scott Perry's already kind of tried to set the table by saying that the plan is to remain patient no matter kind of what happens from here on out but they still have a ton of cap space in their hand if they come up empty on one of these Max level free agents so do they spread it out or do they just start trying to throw big money Chris Middleton what's the next what's the next step from there and what of what I've heard is is that I keep hearing the name Julius Randle that you tryin over pay him for a one or two your your one and one year we keep the car right they want to keep what civility one keep I got addicted like keep Cassie they're open or treatable where they can students who can almost like the Anthony Davis situation with the Lakers this year you know what are you talking trade stuff they they won't be able to your contract it's somebody becomes disgruntled and you know find a way to see if you can get a free agent look to create a class next year it's not great so I think they want to kind of keep that trade collectibility open so I think I think that's the intention here unit last year the stock their rosters with guys you know Marilyn zone you know of like I like that on one year deals you know if zorbing and you know the Andre Jordan things like that they were expiring deals that that's that's sort of the goal here for them I think is too if they can't get a star and they want to say I think still hopeful underground and and who knows what's going to happen the boredom many surprises all but I think that they've kind of a lot of for that next thing of just going to keep right where we were keep young players and and keep sort of buildings out another year after Steve what is the perception of the next you feel from free agents and from from agents alike hi what is the presentation the Knicks would have to give to the ramp or others to try to get them to come well you know New York is still the drawing card in the garden every player including Kevin Durant we talked to talk about is this mystical thing that we did talk to Kevin when he came in with Golden State this year and we talked about it like in the Senate like being you know a playground it's just somewhere you will you know you want to be but when it gets down when you guys going to make a decision the other sellers it's a seventeen sixty five team it Kevin reference sample does come with a calm unless he's bringing somebody else with him the thought of coming back in a year from this injury and having to stand shoulder the burden of you know what he might be on a load management plan chapters have to think that you would you would come in and you would have to be the one who is lifting up this you know this young man not all that counted roster if you use one of them use huge amount of pressure on them so I I don't think guys you know nobody so far has been on that you know if you look at their history they really haven't had a lot of luck in bringing in you know top tier creation now the man it was Steve Popper from Newsday and Dickerson and heard on ESPN radio and ESPN apps Steve a lot of reports out there that the nets are are going to make some serious noise we all assume that car you're being of course is going to sign with them but there's a lot of speculation that maybe Durant ends up in in Brooklyn with the nets and possibly also de Andre Jordan if the nets to this if they pull this off and they end up with to rant and chi read as someone that covers sports for living in New York how would that change the landscape of New York sports at the next suddenly become that relevant but as soon as they were two nine American art scenarios for the nexus here one of the next getting carrying Duran and the real one that would be Duran healthy signing in Dallas and saying I always want to play with Chris that's for doing this that would be the real thing yeah he is a really odd thing I I've covered in a kind of cover the NASA cover the NBA here for a long time and the next just for some reason never can break through it and be that you know the Big Brother in town you know it would probably would know better show than the Jason Kidd Knicks when they went to the final that's when the with the final two years in a row it was just great entertainment basketball in a beautifully played great defense and they still couldn't tell a playoff games in New Jersey they went to Brooklyn you know this is sort of I understand by Billy king and ownership at Dick's class of the Paul Pierce Kevin Garnett deal you want to try and take over the city at a time we thought you could and it obviously didn't work out they've they've still never gotten the media the fans the mixer just old money here and and entrenched in the fans even though they had to seventeen sixty five seasons the last four years it's been sort of a you know fans of you know we're on the right track willing to wait for this and they don't seem to lose that and they said it is strange and the scariest but I think this is you know if if it is tiring and Duran basically stealing away what the next thought was their plans a couple months ago and it is definitely a blow to the French institute to the the plan they're trying to make here Steve appreciate you giving us some time please enjoy the rest your afternoon okay you got it thanks yes Steve Popper covers the Knicks also and be a columnist for Newsday with us I'm Dickerson and heard we are brought to you by new shell V. power Nigel plus premium gasoline now with four levels of defense against gong where corrosion and friction how about that though Royce if the Knicks end up with nothing and the nats get two hands and Irene what a blow that would be yeah I mean it's embarrassing I mean that's what it is flat out for the next and they have they have not so quietly made it clear that this was their plan was to clear this cap space and be able to sell this new vision and in a new front office and kind of re branding themselves as the team that players want to complete one Steve mentioned it there they can build up the fact that their New York City all they wanted their Madison Square Garden only one they also don't land marquee free agents and when it comes down to the ownership and the the management and the way the team is run that scares off players the roster is not good enough to join right now flat out and that's the reason a marquee free agent is not like Kevin Durant apparently is is planning to not go there you heard from Popper the usual key words when it comes to next basketball guys you heard it was New York City it's the garden you know it's the Mecca of the franchise you haven't won a championship since since nineteen seventy three okay and if you are a free agent or if you're an agent you probably don't want to deal with Jim Dolan also you don't have that on your shoulders and say I have I have to be the person to resurrect a franchise if the next without viable everyone wanna play there just because it's the York there's so many stern Europe David stern your own comments and thoughts about the Nicks and back in the day yeah there might have been a place which want to play but look at the lead the league has grown so much this is David stern was commissioner the idea that you can only play in Los Angeles Chicago New York is passe you can put anywhere you want you be able get generational wealth anywhere you want but today's athlete wants to be able to have an opportunity with a championship and you're starting from the bottom as one the bottom teams the NBA if you play for the next is a simple as that well I mean you know you might be able to play in New York and have a chance to win a championship and that's what's really happening here with some of these big marquee guys all right free agency in the NBA began six PM eastern one hour seventeen minutes and thirty six seconds from now not that we're keeping track or anything but if Cole why let it really wants to team up with Kevin Durant should the play another year in Toronto will tackle tackle that question coming up next it's Dickerson hood with Royce young also sitting at ESPN radio and ESPN app.
Kevin Durant out for Game 1 of NBA Finals; DeMarcus Cousins upgraded to questionable
"Warriors, raptors one of the ones that's been talked about a lot or just maybe less so than the Kevin Durant is the DeMarcus cousins factor. And it's it's for me. Not just so much about to be honest with you. It wouldn't shock me at all if he if he gets healthy, if he plays because I personally not, you know, to play doctor anything, but just as far as whether or not it's smart to plug a guy in or or what your thoughts are plugging a guy who hasn't played in a in a number of weeks ago hasn't played really very many games over the warriors, in general, I sort of look at the Damian Jones situation where he'd missed all that time four months or whatever it was three months, six months with the, the torn pack. And I thought, hey young player you're going to need him to get right? And get healthy. 'cause he's going to be a huge part of the starting line of next year for the warriors. But I thought even if he got healthy, there's no way you plug them in and, and have this work come, and we ate Western Conference. Finals and they did. It was times where it worked. There was other moments where they threw him in a couple of minutes he play and he getting a foul trouble. And you'd pull them out. But I think about DeMarcus cousins, a guy who for the duration of his NBA career has been a starter guy who's been a big score. A guy who has started every game he's ever played for the warriors when he came back from the achilles injury. Steve Kerr, sort of unequivocally said he's our starter. It doesn't really matter. We're going to plug a man he's gonna play put the the minutes restriction on him, but they said, hey, leading up to the NBA all star break that four days or three days off. They get February. He said he's going to be the starter. I think they, they weren't playing back to back and they played him about twenty twenty five minutes every game before he got hurt on a I mean, sort of, I mean, the, the irony for a guy like DeMarcus cousins, who's been told his whole career that he's a, a cancer in the locker room and that he's a team killer coach killer. And he comes out and he gets hurt and his first postseason oughta hustle play a guy who's, who's trying to help US TV more than even. Had to do funny. I was reading about that yesterday. And I went who they play in the first round. Oh, that's right. The LA clippers. The cliffs, that's a four-game set. Nope. No biggie took them, six to take down the clip show. But to markets cousins, you're here in his is now questionable for game one. I wonder whether or not. I would almost I would almost guarantee he doesn't start. I feel like that's probably not the best role. But you wonder what type of, of rehabilitation is this guy done not physically for his body before his image and for his reputation around the league whether or not saying, hey, I will be a role player for this warriors team will get him more money and more offers this office. I don't know. I I'm curious about it, and I'm curious about whether or not Steve Kerr will say, hey, you are the starter. Because I don't think that there's a, a Lockton starter right now. And I feel like if you've got a smaller lineup in surgery Baca, you've got a bigger guy out there at times with Marcus saw, I've not, not quite sure how he'll fair I it'd be an interesting moment. If, if they get to markets cousins on the floor and exactly what his role will be. It will he be okay with being a type of player that maybe in the first few games he is using these valuable and then ends up getting I don't know sort of fit to the bench the way we've seen big men in the NBA, especially in the playoffs sorta get misused or not used. It all because they get exposed for the sort of clunky footed guys that they are. We saw it with Nikola mirror teach in the series with the bucks. And the raptors where I mean he's he's good player. That's the guy can stretch out knockdown threes for you, yet, he became a hazard on the court because they were going out of defensively play after play. Same sort of thing happened with brook Lopez. He of course add a few big moments. But if you're a guy who's who's not a complete big man or cannot move the way, Draymond green moves in a smaller lineup even the way search of moves. It's going to be tough for DeMarcus cousins, so something to pay

"Member FDIC, bourbon war across the board bourbon, or that talk that, yes, yes, for the printout yourself what you're drinking this week. Across the board. That's a horse, by the way picked, you know what I gotta give you a little credit. Big guy. You're strider is making strider. You know what? So, again, the background of this. They asked this here. Some of these ESPN, you know analysts here, right? We analyze, you know, all different sports. They wanted our pick for the PGA championship, and a reason why. House. Why he's gonna play the best this with. So I said, you know what I'm have a little phone with us. So I said, because this course, is at least a mile longer than the average PGA Corso an extra mile, you're walking about six miles per day, instead of five so an extra four miles basically for the four round. So I said Dustin Johnson the long ball hitter. Also, the long stride Walker will be able to handle the extra mile of walking better each day than some of the others. I did a tongue in cheek. Man is making a little bit of around Indy. He's to under- just to another dart. He's got a chance to get the four under which would be within three of Brooks. Doesn't he off to one forty? We'll see how that plays out. But clearly right now we can say the Brooks kept is figure looming large over the peach without question without question. So then the question how much do we believe in the Eastern Conference? Jaanus onto for the bucks might be the figure looming large over that conference for a long time. Now that LeBron is out yonder has basically said these through the but he ain't here anymore. I'm here. I'm going to be here for a while. The we think he is that guy going forward. I'll let you know after the free agent period this summer. All right. Because what's, what's the big rumor mill out there, Kevin during Kevin Durant going to the Knicks? So Kevin Durant is in the Eastern Conference on the Knicks. Are we going to say that Janas not to owns the east? I don't think we are now we'll see what the Knicks canals, they can get if they do get Durant from draft pick to maybe another max slot as well, if they can compete with no. Oh, walkie. But as far as players positioning. And and and greatness in the league if all of a sudden Kevin Durant is in the east. I don't think we can say that about Janas individual who may say that about Milwaukee Ryan the team that have if they can keep everybody together there. But if the ranters in the set may change the tune a little bit. Well, they just posted an article on ESPN dot com of this Andre smelling, who's a very analytical guy and you're gonna love this. Like we we celebrate the silliness, sometimes the second spectrum said, oh, we do this, this column is a deep dive on the second spectrums. He for example, says that a LeBron James lead the NBA with a player fifty rating of twenty nine point two. Those in about Yoenis onto the company and some of the second spectrum stats he hasn't. Here are incredible actually quotes them, according to second spend from stats John's leads league producing one point one nine points per direct drive through either finishing dishing teammates, minimum two hundred Dr. Basketball reference. John takes fifty seven point three percent of his shots. Three feet of the rim making seventy six percent of those look. Hi. Stop listening. Not gonna lie. Okay. No. He's really good way. Dustin Johnson hit? It is four hundred there, too. So here's the question now. Right. If you had to pick one of these three things to be the most exciting over the weekend will be the blazers trying to get back into the series in the west will be Toronto, winning a couple of games because the, the bucks only lost one of their ten postseason or somebody like Dustin Johnson making charge and making it really interesting Sunday afternoon for the second major of the year at Bethpage PGN. I hope it's that because that's one day. We're working our the basketball is a series and I don't think Portland is gonna make this a series. And are we hoping Toronto cancan collided enough? Help Kyle Lowry. Have another one of those big games like not brook Lopez. I mean I know you got. Coon bowl in Middleton. Brogden been a back couple of games now from his injury that kept him out a while. So I'm going to say the PGA. Yeah, I think you're right. Because I look until someone beats Milwaukee more than once I think it was the to the last week of the regular season. Nobody being twice in the regular. They've lost one game. They won four lost one then one five. Yeah. So they they have been on a roll. I feel like they're going to be in full of that series. Look, could Portland and CJ McCollum Daimler heat up. Yes. But they have been woeful split in Portland, but that's gonna make it. It's gonna make it three to one. And golden say it's going to go back and win a gentleman sweep, correct. That's the silliest gentleman sweep. Which just so. Nice to here's a it's it should be the ones doing it on purpose. No. Exact Ryan to be a gentleman. They're trying to sweep it should be demeaning. Petty. We're going to give you a game. We're like a we're just batting around a little bit. So I do think but I think the PJ could be that thing. But Mike, I think it depends on one thing. "He was four of eleven from three point range all the bucks in scoring with those twenty nine points game two tomorrow night in Milwaukee, let me take you back to February fifteenth of twenty thirteen. We had brook, Lopez on the show, and he was an all star and his stats going into that all star game as far as the three point shooter were what polling Dan in his first five seasons. The NBA seven foot one brook Lopez had attempted. Six three pointers and hit zero zero for his career when he came on the show. And then I asked him if he got into the all star game would he shoot a three pointer for this show? Here is brook Lopez. Can you do me a favor and Jack up a three for the all star game? And it's just a tribute to us in this show when our listeners course is if I throw up just one three I'll be disappointed myself. So you can I can count on a three from you during the all star game at least. Okay. I think he made that three didn't he? Yes, he did. And then all of a sudden, look what happened brook Lopez became a sharp shooter. Yeah polling I have a stat. I'm brook Lopez. That should give Ben Simmons fans hope in his first eight seasons in the NBA brook. Lopez made three three pointers three made threes and eight seasons in the past three seasons. He's made four hundred thirty three pointers and he's shooting. Thirty six percent. He's a good three point shooter. Out of the day. Comes that what stat. Play the day brought to you by Dollar.

"And he'll be Brown your teams up one game to non how impressive was that defensive effort? You guys put on in the fourth quarter who is really impressive. I think the team job. Just. Living playing hard move down even I keep fighting in. Brian. Brook Lopez the game that he put together. You know he's been three point shooter in shop locker he was delivering on both ends and also down low as well. Yes, yes, he did mazing job. You know, just the who wasn't as good as one who be. But we told you got to be aggressive. We need to see this different limited this tonight. What changed in the defense for you in the body on as a group? I mean. Yeah, absolutely suffocated them took away. Three ball took away to paint. What chain now the anything change just play harder. Think I wasn't focused enough. I ever wasn't there and who is still in the game. And we sit in a second. We're gonna try to be more active try to read on the both. It sees them when you read on the bullying run, you don't take it out of the knit. So I think the amazing job just showing bodies, the one of these over the loop on the bulls. Congratulations, Janas impressive. Five straight wins. Get the win by eight one eight one hundred although Tacoma had one field goal in the second half. It had nine of his twelve free throws. However bugs get the win their first game one win the conference finals is nineteen seventy four. The first one in the conference finals since two thousand one in the get the game one victory, they get it though after trailing by as much as thirteen points. Coach Mike boot noser hopefully it says we'll be better when we shoot the ball next game. You know it is it's, it's just we talk about defense defense defensive guys that are around here. Just get tired of hearing about it, but, you know you can bring your defense every night, and that's what we expect. And there's gonna be nights when you don't make shots. And you gotta just continue to do well, or give it to give it defensively. And if you do that you may become breakthrough and find a way to went on a night when you really don't shoot very well. Ofensive Lear played well offensively the thirteen point comeback their largest deficit overcome to win a playoff games. They trailed by thirteen in game five in the first round in twenty ten. Here's Stephen Smith. What's the key to gain was brook Lopez? He played an outstanding game. He finished with twenty nine points in about four three pointers including a key three late in the game. And he was that x fact that he was battling another x factor cow. Larry. I think that thing that you've got to look at it from tonight's game is what shot Toronto possibly. We have after losing this game gives you another thirty. Plus he finished with thirty one but Kalle Lowry. Notorious struggling come playoff time because of his miniature. Stature, drops thirty included about seven or eight three pointers and you still lose Siachen school, but six points after the first quarter you're looking at Milwaukee, and he turned around and got trees everywhere. The Greek freak finishes between four and fourteenth book. Lopez acidity knock on broad brogden comes off the bench and gives you fifteen points off the bench. That's more than anybody combined gave you off Toronto. So you look at it from that perspective, Toronto, you can look at it and say, hey, you still have the chance but here's the bottom line walkie shot twenty five percent from three point range. They struggled miserably in the first half and still one and they one primarily because of brook Lopez not the Greek freak that shit. Spelled trouble for you. If you go Rondo wrap this, and it certainly. Does about Trump, that third quarter specifically has to be the real painful aspect for Toronto? They had a chance to really blow the game open at that point, if those two star players got any help from their bench. Well, listen. I remember forget this koala Linnet dropped about fourteen points in the third quarter. The fourth quarter out two points, it didn't do anything in fourth quarter now that might have been primarily because Larry was doing this thing..

"Russell. The way. Twenty five to start the Ford. We'll take. What a win four Brooklyn. The Brooklyn nets. They beat the kings last night one twenty three one twenty one. But the story was yes. And I'll say former Laker diangelo Russel career-high forty four points last night in a win. The Brooklyn nets sit right now seventh in the Eastern Conference in the playoffs race, but his twenty seven points in the fourth quarter de ngelo Russell twenty seven points. The most points in a quarter by any player in the NBA this season. So he would probably be helpful for the Lakers right about now at they didn't trade them. Right. All right here is that trade that happened June twenty seventeen acres trade Dangelo Russell and Timothy MAs Gaza. The nets for brick brook Lopez and the twenty seven th pick that year, and we saw brook Lopez torched the Lakers the night before as well. So they like it was more about a a a salary dump for Timofey Moskovsky and the same thing. Yeah. They got rid of had a fifty four million dollars left on his deal. She could've still build around. Tesla. Those fires. Lopez was still a guy that they could steal you. Let me Tyson Chandler. Javale McGee or brook Lopez who can actually hit a three. This. That's a nice do you think they could upset someone on the playoffs? Let me right now. They will be playing the Toronto Raptors playoff were to start today. They will they will go up against the raptors the, you know, so it's raptors versus nets right now. The Miami Heat or in eight see they will probably play Milwaukee. If started today, but I don't know because if they would have to get up at least a couple spots. I don't wanna play Philadelphia. I think Philadelphia's coming on strong right now saw the Pacers lose last night to the clippers. But but they could be a problem for Toronto. And the refers found maybe I could be a problem. But I don't know Toronto seems to be ready to a minutes restrictions for best the whole thing. I think by the time this season's over he'll only played three quarters of the air have sat out a quarter of the season. So I think when the playoffs come he'll be ready to go. So I mean, of course, Russell, you know, he had that whole snitching thing with Nick young, and he gives Eliot, but Nick young Carmelo Anthony the league anymore. Think about that. Pain JR Smith Nick young Carmella at the league anymore. Let that sink in for. I got another thing you guys can let sink in. All right. Let's go bringing arts madness bracket built.

Member of the starters dynasty who can explore explode for some historic performances aka unprompted Rennes out of nowhere. Always cool. Always composed and looking so damn Chris. Yes. As clay. I think the unprompted ranch is more like the the top five with the typical moments. You know, something came out of nowhere won't expecting. It was a pretty good one the Greek. What was that thing with the Jaanus the five things you have in common with honest as well that's a bit like fourteen point four nine three. Yeah. As far as the appearance yet. I mean Klay looks the same tactics pretty much as well. There's not a lot of variation with the head hairdo or any other place. Not really I mean. And every day. So that's like claim. Okay. Final one. It's you Lee is Lance Stevenson. All right. Unpredictable and lovable player with a high basketball IQ who is frequently misunderstood and predictably. Unpredictable. Wouldn't be surprised if he introduce you to a friend named all they do. What do you think Lee someone else really should evaluate that? I think of lia's Lance with that with that reasoning scared reasoning, and I'm happy for you to have a terrible player because you gave all these other guys all stars hall of famers or potential all stars. Stuck me with Robin? I'm still Ravenhill. Lorde? Worse. Would would you like to me to said let me be brook Lopez? He starts. The right. Type. It wasn't. Is if you go crazy point, that's so wrong. "He had a great game last night Middleton has been a rock all season in just people just livers every night. There's some there's some guys on that roster that have some variants where sometimes they bring it. Sometimes they don't Middleton seems to me. And I haven't watched every second of every game. But Middleton seems to me like he just produces every night. He's he's an all star for sure in my mind. You know, they're gonna have to all stars. And obviously Jaanus is having an MVP level season. They're they're the coaching. They're getting and game plans and everything obviously. But not only we talked a little buzzed defensive game plan last night. But you know, bud has designed offense that maximizes space for Jaanus. They are they're very very attuned and very very. The whole thing is designed to create space riana sin and mitigate the fact that he's he can't create his own space because he's not a good shooter. And that's worked. They you know, you mentioned brook Lopez. They had a really good in my mind off season in terms of they may have overpaid Ilyasova a little bit, but he's been he's been injured. But when he's played he's been good for them. Lopez excuse me has been good for them. And then obviously, the the hiring of buttonholes are was was terrific. Go ahead. Jackie. What are you? What do you see from them? Well, it's funny. You mentioned, but I mean to me that's where it starts. They're in the top five believe both offensively and defensively. At least last time. I checked I haven't checked in the last forty eight hours. And I think they're the only team that can say that. And that's that's buds handprint, and you talked about Lopez in you're so right, Tim because he's the new age big, man. Right. And to your point Brian. He can space the floor for Janas. But he can also I think he's shooting thirty seven percent from the three point line. And last night one of the things that I thought was pretty cool. Was we talked about what he does too hard on the offense of and then he came down. Remember that one sequence he comes down in isolates hard in the post. And it's like, are you kidding me? It's like stealing candy because that's what you used to do. So I give Brooke Lopez's a lot of credit. I give all these big men a lot of credit for being able to adjust their game to the way the game is being played today. We've watched Blake Griffin do it with some success in Detroit the same way. But you know, you mentioned brogden to me, he's he's he's, you know, no surprise in X Virginia player he plays just like that. He plays with such precision. And I don't want say methodical because that sounds negative. And and I don't mean it to be because he actually does very well within the flow of the game. But he's shooting. I think you shooting forty two percent from three point line. Maybe higher forty-three percent. I think he's at about ninety nine percent from the line. He's exactly the kind of consistent role player because he is still a role player. I would say is good for sure for that for that team. And what I liked was when they came through here, and I spent a little time with them. But one of my favorite coaches, both as a person and as a tech Titian. I just think he's so smart and has a great way with people in a good sense of people, and I was asking about maker because Thon is sort of in and out of the line of. I don't believe he played at all last night. Did he Tim I think he was D N P, and I'm curious about because I think he's got some talent and some ability and. Budd said the beauty of this team is whoever's doing it, right? Gets to play. It's really that simple. And nobody can even argue with it because if you form, and you do the kind of things that they've designed for you. You'll get the minutes if you don't he's he's he's not afraid that he's benched Middleton. Not at all this. Yeah..

I mean, I my there's a knowledge gap, admittedly, like I went to Disney. I was you know, I saw the relevant movies as a kid. And now there's been a little bit of a gap. And when my I have a three and a half year old daughter when she starts getting into it. I that gap will get filled in. Okay. Well, do you know, Bob? Do you know who Bob is the CEO of Disney? Yes. Yes. Okay. Great. Okay. That's important to the story. So Robin, I decided for the Tron roller coaster like all right? We're going to gift shots, and we're getting like Detroit on, you know, like their identity discs. So each get it, just right? Then we do like a t shirt and a hat. We throw them on and go on the roller coaster, and we're like juice because we're some of the first people ever doing this. And we'd go back around and do like two more times. So after third time we're like running out of exits me, Robin is girlfriend. We're like stoke on like messing around with identity, discs and stuff, and we get to the bottom of the x ram all the way to the bottom and outside the traction. You know, like we just couldn't stop in front of this person is Bob Eiger. And so we're just like, oh my goodness. You must look so ridiculous right now, we're just trying to be as professional as possible at this point. I'm like, hey, Mr. Eiger. How's it going? I'm a brook Lopez a huge fan. And for some reason, I figured this was a good time to tell him that. I'd love to take a meeting at some point above the scheduled meeting with. So hopefully, we see God that I enjoy something that he helps create as the meeting happened yet. No. It hasn't happened yet. I actually I just saw Mr. argue gun get my clipper game this year. He was courtside. So I got to see him then before the game. So they know things are okay. No worries. The wheels are in motion for this meeting though with it. He he he is a big basketball fan. I'm sure you did not have to introduce himself. I know he's a big fan. That's what actually his son. His son helps me a workout in the summer. Sometimes I get some shots up. We'll rebound. Yeah. Son's a big basketball fan as well. And so I know he has a great relationship. Bob. I is a great relationship with Chris Paul. Yes. He was featured in Chris Paul's a free agency documentary series a couple of summers ago when you ended up getting traded to the rockets two more quick ones on I'll let you go who is the person that is just a nightmare to guard that for you that people wouldn't necessarily think of is nightmare to garlic. You know, DeMarcus cousins, we know Anthony Davis. We know who's someone you see on the schedule. Like, oh, man people that that guy's just a is just a pain in the oh, man. I don't even know if I should say he's not in the league anymore. But my first few years he used to drive me crazy, and I don't even know if I should say this. Not in the league. So it's safe..

Did was there anyone on that team that you sort of formed a bond with that that in the misery of that that lasted for a lot of years like how do you get through a season like that? I just try to stay professional come in give my work in and try to perform on court. We had some good guys on that team. You know, we had some really good guys Courtney Lee, Chris Quinn, both come to mind immediately. Just professional guys super talented guys who came in got they're working worked on the craft. You know, and we've got to do things in this league. You know? And it was it was tough. But you know, you just had to do what you could and control what you could control to get through it. Yeah. I'm looking at that roster. Chairman Ye is on that team. And now I'm looking now, I'm looking at this point you lived through the Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian thing didn't you you saw that up close. I I did I went to the wedding. Did you really? I did I I got invited. Where was the wedding LA? No way. Yeah. Must have been a good wedding. Who's at your table at the winning? It was honestly, it was pretty fun there a lot of net. Staff some coaches with the at my table, but it was a lot of fun. It was a good wedding sounds like you got a bummer of a table. Probably tables there. Well, well, we mingled. There wasn't a lot of sitting. What's the most ridiculous thing that happened at that? What did anyone like come? Did anyone like propel from the ceiling? Was anyone naked at any time? What did anyone fall into like a body of water that was in the venue did anything like that happen? I know there was a noise complaint. But I think I think Wolfgang puck made the cake for that wedding. I think it was Wolfgang puck. It's not him. It was a very famous chef in. I'm pretty sure no one had a piece of the cake because everyone was just on the dance floor around doing stuff, which I think is absolutely insane. I know I didn't try the cake. So that Kate you sat there. Yeah. I don't think anyone had Wolfgang's cake who was the most famous person at the wedding that you really wanted to talk to. But you didn't talk to. Ooh, I really wanted to talk to but didn't talk to. I talk to Serena Williams that was a big one. I I had to work if occurs. Serena. Oh. Hm? Earth wind and fire was a and I I didn't get a chance to talk to them. Okay. That's not bad. It's hard. It's hard in those situations because you're you're on a plane of equals. But yet this person means something to you. And you don't mean the same thing to them. So you're not conversing equals. It's just hard to to bridge that gap and that kind of social situation, I'm like for me. I just let my like fan boys spill out immediately. I don't try to hide it at all. So maybe that makes them feel uncomfortable or something. So yeah, I don't really know if I handle with exactly the right way. So if if you're like that in general, what's the what's your worst ever like what's the one where you went straight Chris Farley show with somebody? I don't know if you know that skit from SNL, but just when you. Absolutely. Yeah. What's the most regrettable encounter? I know. I there's one that comes to mind immediately. And it's super was super embarrassing for all I hopefully the person enjoyed it though. So Robin are huge Disney fans. Right. And one day. We liked to do something creative and Disney like Imagineering or make movies, or whatever we are fortunate enough to get invited to the grand opening of the Shanghai, Disneyland the Shanghai Disney resort two years ago now in twenty sixteen in so we were there, and we got to go like the two days before it opens for for like, the casts sort of previews and everything. And so we were going through the park doing all the rides like their pirates of the Caribbean. Go through their fans who and stuff, and then we went to tomorrow, and I had this Tron roller coaster..

"I mean things are going. So well here it's hard to say, I miss it. You know, you know, it's it's something. I absolutely still had in my game. But the way our systems running right now festively, it's not really predicated on giving post ups, you know, it's it's pretty good on spacing the floor and give people opportunity attacks. So not really right now. Now, I mean, you're still averaging twelve game you're taking seven threes a game as you're getting you're getting shot something you're getting like you're getting I you'll shoot an occasional off the dribble like sidestep kinda three you'll use you'll shoot. Like a Ryan Anderson twenty nine footer because I guess, bud. Wants you to stand that far behind the art? I mean, are you surprised by the sort of adventurous -ness of some of the threes? You get to shoot. I think that's just not confidence comes from the support. I have for my coaches and teammates, you know, just telling me to keep shooting the ball keep letting it fly. If I get a good, look, and you know, that that their confidence really does a lot for me on the floor. Did he you have one game where you were like oh for ten or one for twelve hours. I'm going to look at your game. Wasn't her one crazy game like against Phoenix over twelve. So so as that's happening. Is there any part of you that looks to Biden and his like know, can I stop can I get like a jump hook or or is he going or do you think your head is like, okay? If I reached the upper limit of like how many threes I'm allowed to miss is it or is there is there a conversation that happens when you're like oh for nine in the middle of a game. Like that. No there. There was never any conversation. Really? You know, it was from bud Jaanus or coach Ben Sullivan. Eric bledsoe. Just shoot the ball. Let it fly keep shooting the ball every time this which was which is you know, obviously, it felt good for me. You know, knowing that they have that sort of confidence in me. And then very next game. We played against San Antonio home. But drew up the first play for me to for wing three pointer. Okay. That's nice. Do you make it? I did make it. So, you know, that's pretty good. Do you like the nickname space mountain? I don't know who gave you the nickname space Mellon or if you gave it to yourself. Do you like it? It's actually splash mountain it last. It's splash mountain. It says space mountain on your basketball. I've I mixed my mouth bills up. No. It's splash mountain. You're. Splash mountain. Yeah. John Henson actually started on Twitter. I don't know who the us on Twitter that put it up John Henson re tweet it got it going. And I mean, I'm a big huge Disney nerd, so I'm all for it. Obviously. Okay. All right. I think I feel like we we can do better. But if you're all for it. I guess that's all the I guess that's all they're really. All right. Yeah. I'll give it to you. It's it's like a B. But if you like it, then then we can accept the be did did you did, you know Jaanus at all did, you know, Jaanus at all before you came here. Not Super Bowl. Honestly, I just kinda new as competitors. And you know, getting them and seeing him play his game. It's just really really impressed me. What what has surprised you about him? It forget forget the basketball skills. Maybe what is surprised you about him as a teammate or like just a human being? I think it was the honest. He's just genuinely the nicest best human being slash she made possible. It's really it's jarring. You know, considering the kinds of people you know, that you get in this league. I mean yawn. This is just absolutely one of the best people. I've ever been around me that good. How how does that come through day to day? I mean, he he's just. The way he holds himself off the court isn't the way, you know, you I think you just perceive like a NBA superstar, you know, or the best player in the league to hold himself..

"Hiring was he was definitely hired by then like your shootings in your your shooting seven threes a game. Do they was it a phone call on July? First was it an in person meeting and do they tell you right away? Hey, man. This is what we're going to do. You're gonna come here. And you're gonna park yourself either in the corner or twenty eight feet away, and you're just gonna shoot with impunity. Anytime you want. We had a phone call. I we had dinner in summer league. And actually, Don maker was there as well. But we talked about the system and everything, and it was some stuff I'd done with Kenny Atkinson in Brooklyn before. But like you said at the rate, I'm shooting now that that wasn't something. We talked about just the way it's worked out playing in the system and in it's been good for everyone. You like it. I mean, does it is there any part of you? That's like I always wondered this with like two seven footers is there any part of you. That's like secretly ashamed. Like, you've betrayed the legacy of big post up centers to shoot all these threes. Or is it just is it just fun. It is very different for me. You know? I mean, just looking at the transition pretty much like just I how rarely I post up now like everything I'm really trying to do is just sort of guard forward movement stuff like that with this five out offense. You know, not even just shooting the ball. But the way I'm cutting moving without the ball and everything it's really like I'm playing garter for position you used to post up like a lot. That's that's what you didn't. You were quite good. Yeah. Yeah. Do you miss it?.

"And now, the low has welcome to the low post podcast live from Milwaukee. Wisconsin where we are thrilled to be joined by a slightly under the weather but coming off a win brook Lopez the new center of the Milwaukee Bucks. How you doing, sir? Well, how about yourself? I'm hanging in. I'm glad to be in Milwaukee. I gotta see the arena for the first time tomorrow and you get to play against Anthony Davis, which I'm sure is a great time just as much of his free just as much. So so let's let's let's keep this quick and go some rapid fire. Your brother had just a patented crazy is Robin. Lopez ejection last night in Oklahoma City. Have you talked to him since then do you do you give him any county? He has one of these year. At least do you offer him any council? Do you do you review the tape to see how you rate his performance? What what did you think of it? You know, I don't I didn't know about this stuff. My teammates were telling me about it after I saw the film. And I watched the film few times. I'm just I'm rarely if ever on his side. I just I don't know. He lost the last night. And I think he deserves everything he gets coming to them. He he really has a he looks like he gets taken over by a trance is is really go crazy. And boy, you gotta give it up for Jim Boylan who's putting them through three hour practices, and you know, suicides. He got in the fray last night that was strong work from a coach. I don't know if bud is doing that. If you guys get an abroad this year. Right. Well, doing it for me in particular that might let someone took a shot at before he got in there. Do you? Do you have my wife is a twin? And she believes in like twin sensory perception when Robin is about to go incredible hulk, do you do you have any does your spine star tingling? Do you sense that something is about that? Something is amiss sorta like spider sense or something like that. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't sense anything last night on us -ly. I feel like normally I get some sort of deal. But that would be completely blindsided me last night. He he was he was fantastic. So so you played for the Lakers last year. And now you now you play for the bucks. What's always been interesting to me? And what I really wanted to ask you about was the moment. Lebron sign with the Lakers and all they also had like no centers for a minute until they signed jail McGee. And now they've obviously got Tyson Chandler there was this idea that well, okay. The Lakers need a center, and they need some size, and they need three point shooting because any team with LeBron needs a lot of three point shooting around him. And I was like, well, I they just had a guy who kind of combines both of those things. So I'm curious from your perspective. Like where were you surprised that they didn't come after you harder? Or maybe they did. And you just decided I mean, it's kind of a circus there with LeBron in Los Angeles. It's like a perfect storm of of drama. Did you just not want any part of it? What was your perspective on on the move from LA to Milwaukee? Well, it was a little surprised adjust. Just in end up working out. You know, kinda went in one direction pretty quickly. And from that point, you know, I was looking at other options. Would you have wanted to play there or do you prefer this? It's it's it's obviously you have a great team. I think a better team than the Lakers, but it it's a quieter. It's quieter here. Let's put it that way. Yeah. I mean, I would have wanted to play there. But you know, that being said I'm happy that this worked out the way it did cause it's the best situation possible, you know, even comparable to playing there this season, you know, barring away this season, Milwaukee has gone, so well, just the group we have here the players staff and the opportunity to do some big things. It's such a great situation to be in. So what's the first meeting with the team? Like, I don't know who you met. If it was John Horster bud or I don't even remember what the exact timetable of buds..

"I don't. I don't know. I mean, now with brook Lopez, how much do we expect a John Henson to be playing or what does John Henson give you? What? What? What can you bring him in that is his unique skill set? I mean, obviously, as we mentioned from from the top defensive rebounding is huge is going to be huge for that team, even if they can find a way to become an average defensive rebounding team that's going to be a windfall for for that squad is brook Lopez, a great defensive rebounding center. No, but he's going to he's a bigger body there and isn't going to get pushed off the spot in the way that Henson, maybe Thon maker, somebody thoughts on other guy that could get pinched. I mean, I'm going to like lean on you guys when when we're talking about bud here, just because you obviously watched a lot more Atlanta Hawks games. But from what my understanding of bud is Thon just strikes me as a guy that he's not going to have. A ton of patience with in less. He's which which does have a good looking shot. What I was gonna say is in less Thon has proven, he can be like I real high efficiency. Three point shooter for that team. I would assume that he's not going to have a lot of patients in the in the boot and hose often. So I don't know. It's really hard to say exactly what this team's rotation is going to be. I guess I'm still kind of processing at addition of Pat contin brook Lopez's. Now there you just soom. He's gonna play a lot. I mean, this team was so influx over the season and then even into the postseason with Tony snow being such a a wart that you don't know. I think we're going to learn a lot in the first fifteen twenty games of the season as to what this team is not only gonna look like Xs, no os wise. But from a rotational standpoint, is there somebody that that you are thinking of specifically? Yeah. I think the thing that really jumps out at me is the the filet turned over their front office. A year ago, right? Those are the former front office is basically down in Orlando, setting up shop down there, and they were building like the most switchable defensive Rauscher you could find and bud is well, most coaches are stubborn, but is at the top of the list of one of the most stubborn coaches. And he really believes that when you're switching, you're allowing your players become less mentally engaged defensively and to kind of take the challenge of, I'm gonna Glock my guy down and take that personally at work over that screen a not reliant screens. And so the addition of brook Lopez, the center makes a lot more sense what you think about the fact that he's not gonna ask as big guys to get out and switch. Now, there was some time in Atlanta that he loud Horford to get out in some matchups and do some more switching, but he really did believe that if I let my wings, I let my terminated defenders switch all the time. I'm really kind of letting them off the hook. Cook in terms of effort and mental engagement in really prepping to pay attention to all of the small reads that you make when you're defending opponent, turns up busy gonna. Dr. Right? Or is you gotta try to spend, but you know, this game plan, they switch a lot of mental engagement. That makes a lot of sense. When you think about that philosophy with brick Lopez on the roster easing, John is probably gonna be okay as a backup center. But Thon was brought in really to be guy who his forte is to be able to get out and switch onto guards on, stay on the perimeter. So it's gonna be interesting, but you'd mentioned de LA Belva and he's a guy that will use every trick in the book and we'll just kind of compete. Sometimes at the edge of what's considered sportsmanlike things, but he can't physically really work around screech just doesn't have the foot speed to do it. Where guy, Tony, Snell you see him able to do those things..

"And you know, I I wanted to be somewhere with that was definitely definitely needs to pass agility, so I appreciate appreciated them for for for doing that for me. And now I'm basically just told him stay in contact and and I wish them the best. Yeah, definitely. I wanna get into Memphis and you know the team in a second. But first you had a tough decision to make a few weeks ago about whether to opt in the final year of your contract. You could have opted out to hit unrestricted free agency for fans that don't know you decided to opt in. How'd you know there would have been a trade? Would you have still made the same decision? Or would you have opted out, you know, and chose your team, you know, d, do you kind of go back and think about, you know, what would have happened differently if you had known a trade was coming actually Memphis team that I thought about coming to during pregnancy. Two years ago is close to home. I have a relationship with the front office. I have actually, a friend very close friend of mine is is on the player development staff here. So and I knew fee is from from Miami when I had a source stint there. So Memphis was a place that I thought about it. I really enjoyed. I like down south, I like being in this area. So when I heard that it was Memphis, I was, I was actually very happy about it. That may come as an surprise, some people, but I'll I was very happy by the so the opt in really, you know, the market was real real tight this year. You know, you've got like brook Lopez, getting three point, three Milwaukee. Most of the guys that really got a good amount of money were the ones that stayed on their team. And you know, most team to really gearing up for free agency next summer in the summer after that. So the opt in may may and my agent did a great deal of Mike denigrate delivery searching. I trust him Mark Charleston's, great one, and we decided to go ahead and often because because the market was so tight, I think you've made the right deal. You know, the right decision because they're so you know, like you said, so few teams have money this summer. Next summer more teams are going to have cap space in a salary. Cap is supposed to rise, so it's going to be a better market this this year you've seen so many guys take one year deals, so it's not all you could have gotten, you know. Multi year deal. So I totally get that. You know, opt to get eight million dollars. Now you get to play, you know, on a team that may be a playoff team, you know, you still get that money. It actually really worked out perfectly for you. You know, as far as I see it now let's talk about Memphis. You mentioned how excited you are to go there because of the ties and how you consider them in free agency. How do you think you fit with them on the court? When you look at the different pieces they have got pretty will. You know, Mike is a guy that is a great player. No pro still be the most underrated even though e he got the big contract, you know, still the most underrated point guard in the league. Know his ability to score with both hands, obviously, shoot the ball, and then the ever the extent of Marcus, all that can really do a lot of things and stretched to game out a primitive onto the perimeter ethic. You know, they have published shooting guards, but maybe none that do exactly what I do. I think burst Attila wise..

"Yeah that's going to remake brook lopez i can't imagine anyone wanting brook lopez somebody will kings to us thirty five million that's true the warriors absolutely signed dwight navy bradley now right probably they probably don't stop there like they shabazz napier and colin quinn to just because yet would be terrified i'm done we don was the sixty first rated a valuable free agent he's like the first deal that's always good news at yeah like seven point three year i just don't understand do i need three years of doug mcdermott but here's here's the other part of it i really tj leap is exactly doug mcdermott maybe they not daily stinks well we knew that before the draft so i don't know what took them so long i agree they're just like nope we're planning on this there were no other vailable players at eighteen whoever gets a good player eighteen in the draft so yeah they could have just they could have just had a g they look substantially better they probably beat the cast this year they had that had og coming off a home court and like i think forty eight wins and the first year ola depot yeah you thrilled i don't know where julius randle goes now like he's like the only two teams felt like needed send was like the mavericks and the lakers the lakers hate him and the mavericks epicenters i've no idea where jews random blue magic sure that's all i want you to go to i don't see why not do i can see new york viewing noxious a small forward i think early i just don't like i don't think his body can play for yet so i think he's going to have to place him three early right so if they could get rattling i hope he gets a probably take a one year proved do which maybe he goes to after syndicates mellow maybe that's where he wants to approve deal i wouldn't trying to think like chicago chicago signed now's gonna say favors they drafted window garter true clippers go ahead ain't viewing randall only as a five i think that's where he's best utilize i know he can't set out when he's run a floor i still think he's a medicine so let them run point five i guess i thought why long enough for that he's the ninth ring free agent he's no he's no death mcdermott's but utah i think you go back to kentucky before his eyes utah still see like i still feel like dallas would probably sign anybody he's also dallas so earlier today i saw they only have five mil left and they were gonna give it to which is hilarious how nice will i guess the the wave dark had dirt opt out going to get flies anyways if he had opted so now they have the android they're gonna give it to dirt already is it was just a sad series of words now yeah it gets having a team option they were like we're going to decline it and then they give it back tuesday seem like the good guys like man you guys just keep on treat me good i wouldn't i assume they don't have money to forever but if you just see about two point in memphis they i was gonna say they were trying to get off parsons again amazing they have any money relates that but it does take at this point this is why i think this is why we saw no one wait for lebron this year teamsters didn't have money so you saw thing if the patients are gonna give you twenty two whatever they gave us gonna take that not taking any chances like i feel like it's all restricted guys that are that kambli because jane and go over keating like smart i think's gonna take a while boston levin i don't do that getting resolved all that quickly jabari is restricted right it's if people wanna go there it's a quite a few guys that could go the qualifying offer out it's just like like it's only worked for greg monroe and it only worked affirs pockets which is really all that matters but he was young and promising once upon a tone and now it's like like randall still technically restricted because i don't i don't think they've renounced him yet maybe the lights more out drifted like jabari i'm he'd ask for the max after wiggins an mvp got it i imagine they wouldn't give it so he just wants to do one year proves healthy i.

"Tell me what jumped out at you with this opportunity to watch this lakers roster while there's two things first of all is when brook lopez and or isaiah thomas on the floor they can't defend this team that struggles to defend anyway i watched the first two games last week that i watched point notes when they played in the anna when lopez was mashed up with mouse turner turner deal whatever they wanted to and in the anna a really was able to do what they wanted to festively so the good news for lakers fans is that brook lopez say thomas or not under contract for next season hate to speculate but i think we both would agree that we'd be surprised to see either them back with the lakers next year you want to go ahead and chime in there i think there's some chance lopez could be back i think as thomas there was kind of a two or three window kind of feel good the narrative was anyway but i think the thomas is going to want to be on the team where he is the focus of that's not going to be the right thing for this leakers roster as me hitting on isaiah it's just that lonzo ball brandon ingram kyle kuzma and any other people they bring our people are going to be people who need the ball to bring the impact you want them to bring something that disqualifies thomas the only way this makes it work as if they like hey is area are you willing to be our six man like in and this is like the idea of the six boston originally planned to be like the best six men in the league like two three times better than the next best six men and that was the blooper for boss i've talked about over and over that was the plan but is a ended up getting too good to ask them to do that pose to injury post some of these adjustments i think that if they want to go to team when a championship he's gonna have to want to be that uber six man i don't think lakes roster.
