How's Life After Graduation?

"So tell me about the other three. Well, before I do that, I just want to make this other point because I think it's important with regard to the obsession my peers have of going into these big fancy firms. Yes. We are the most as Harvard students, we are the most privileged cohort in the country, and that means the world. We, I mean, Harvard has such a vast network of people in many different industries. We have so many resources. Honestly, if you're at Harvard, it's more likely than not that you come from a family that is financially well off. And that to me is all the more damning why those people go into a financial services industry. I have a period Harvard who both of his parents died before college. He grew up in The Bronx. He has to care for his ten year old sister, and he went on to one of these companies because he needed to make really big money off the bat. Totally understand that, I would do the same thing if I were in his position. But most of my friends, Dennis, who go into these lines of work, they're not in that position. They could take a risk. It's not a do or die situation for them. And yet they still go and work it. I'm saying Goldman because that's not where my two friends are working. They go and work in a place like Goldman. Clearly, okay. The other three. The other three, two are unemployed. And the reason if you're unemployed after graduating Harvard, it's your from thank you. Time 51. If you graduate Harvard from, you've really chosen to be unemployed and the 5th one. The 5th one, I'm very proud of her. She moved to a southern state, and she's working at a local newspaper as a crime reporter.

David Berlinski Describes His Early Years

"David, you know, I think I want to ask you a little bit about yourself and your life, I can't help myself. I do this instinctively. People think it's some interviewers hat that I wear, but I did this long before I ever had any kind of show or something. I just want to know what are people come from? Where do they get? So you grew up in New York. Oh, I grew up. I was born in New York in 1942, February 1942, just a couple of months after my parents arrived in the United States. And I don't think I went to kindergarten. I don't think the work in the gardens when I was growing up. But I went to elementary school and then I went to Bronx science and then I went to Columbia and then I went to Princeton entirely in New York experience. First time in my life, I left New York. It was to go to Stanford in California as an assistant professor. Okay, so you were in college in the early 60s. Late 50s or early 60s. Late 50s, early 60s. When did you know and I don't know if you can answer this question, but I'll ask it. When did you know that you were intellectually remarkable? Was this something that you knew already in grade school or that your parents knew to go to Broncos? No, I was a terrible student. That was lazy. I was indifferent. I was completely occupied with anything but the curriculum. And that went through Bronx science and once most of Columbia. So only when I got to graduate school that I said, you know, there's something interesting here. It was a very you don't get into Colombia by being a dunderhead. You clearly cared enough to go to college and to go to an Ivy League school. That was expected. What was your major as an undergraduate? It was history. History, especially medieval history. Did you have or I should say, did you ever did you have a sense at that very young age of what you might want to do with yourself? I mean, if somebody said to you at age 18 or 19, what do you want to do when you grow up? Well, you have to remember how different the academic environment was in the late 50s and early part of the 60s. And academic career seemed just terrific to me. You could do very interesting work, you were protected, you were an academic environment. You had interesting colleagues. And you could teach. That just seemed to me like a very good deal.

What Does AOC Know About Masculinity and Power?

"But I come out of the hospital and I wanted to go right back in. Because I see on the cover of gentlemen's quarterly cheek hue magazine has AOC on the cover with the tag, a conversation about masculinity, power, and politics. Amid post row America. Let me drop everything right now and have AOC talk to me about masculinity. The only thing I'm on a LC to say to me is, do you want salt with you, margarita, or no salt? That's it. We've turned this lame brain into a frigging presidential candidate. And it's all because she's got the best rack in D.C. and every guy knows it. They just can't ever say it. But I'd love to see her two or three drinks into Congress's annual Christmas party. I know she wants to cut loose and be fun. She's Latina. From The Bronx. There's fire in her blood, but she's misusing it. And all these soy men, especially the schlump, she's with are making her believe all she's all smarts and no sets and it's not true. Deep down inside, I know that AOC would rather be a bong girl than sitting with those bitties in Congress. And she could be a Bond girl with the right director and the right camera lens, we'd buy it, but no. GQ, which is run by a bunch of gays and women. Has to ask her about masculinity and power. Are you kidding me?

"Terry, Pluto, I was telling some friends who are Red Sox fans sadly this weekend who were houseguests that I was talking to you today, and that I've been following Steve kwon because your wife, Roberta, who does ministry with you, started loving on Steve Kwan early and I think Roberta is as sharp as you are as observer. I was reminded when my dying grandfather was asking me about Richie scheinblum in 1968. And Steve Kwan is that guy. He's everybody's Bronx Burnett come to life. I mean, it's an amazing story. It really is. And on top of it, I'm 5 foot 9 and I could maybe look down on him a little bit. He might be just as tall as me because he has hair. And this is a guy that was surprised to be recruited out of Oregon state. He was drafted in the 5th round by Cleveland. He was surprised he thought he was going to fence around. He was just kind of a small spark, what kind of player that a lot of us maybe who were older grew up watching and that is not the type of player that base a like. Turns around you said close to 300 is the carbon excellent left Fielder. Big fan favorite fans love it when a small guy is good because they feel it looks like a normal person. And he has been just terrific in this series on top of that. Well,

Lee Zeldin: Daughters Describe Shooting Outside Their Home

"Earlier today on Fox News channels, Fox and Friends. Cut number 13, here's Lee zeldin, cut 13. We get a phone call from our daughter Michaela. We hear our other daughter Ariana in the background crying. She's speaking to 9-1-1. They were the 9-1-1 callers. They were at the kitchen table. They were doing homework all of a sudden their hearing multiple gunshots. They then hear screaming, they run upstairs, lock themselves in the bathroom, one of my daughters calls 9-1-1, the other one calls us. This is something where you had two people who got shot who are essentially laying down about ten feet from where they were doing homework. One of the bullets landed about 30 feet from where the girls were doing homework. And this hits extremely close to home. It showed up at our front doorstep yesterday. When we were getting back to the house, I mean, we had to go through crime scene tape. We're getting advised where to walk so that we weren't stepping on blood. This is not something that we were planning to return home to when we left for a Columbus day parade in The Bronx. You can't make this up. This is like a Hollywood movie. The candidate running on Law & Order has to has to be victimized by his twin daughters at home, there but for the grace of God, maybe one of them could have been hit.

"We can't go back there And I think a lot of voters some older voters outraged now remember that And they're like you know what I love this the Big Apple I love this great state of New York I'm not leaving but I ain't going back there again Yeah and they remember that just like you do they are seeing it now in ways that you couldn't even watch the crime back then They're seeing the videos They're on social media Every single day the headlines the New York Post does a really good job telling stories that the other media oftentimes will just black out And we had an incident last Tuesday morning where a postal worker in The Bronx is going in the post office gets pistol whipped Then end up inside the postal office and they rob over a $100,000 Now you wake up on a Wednesday you see the story you're disturbed by that And that's not the end of it You'll wake up the next day and you read about some 82 year old who ends up getting hit with a machete by some 20 year old who has been arrested and released 7 times since March And the stories are every single day And people are watching videos they're seeing the pictures of it They have the memories of how it once was They have their own breaking point New York leads the entire nation in population laws And the craziest thing about it is that the governor right now could not even complete the sensors actually a reporter I think about it even been from a public radio or public newspaper type outlet but as somebody who is not certainly not coming out of conservative media asking Kathy hochul why is New York leading the entire nation in population loss Why do you think people are fleeing Now Dan bongino and Lee zeldin and every single one of your listeners are capable of finishing the sentence that New York leads the entire nation in population loss because we all know how to finish it We have a governor right now in New York can you finish the sentence

Noel Casler Explains How Trump Corrupts Everyone in His Orbit

"People famously know that you worked on the apprentice with Donald Trump and, you know, started talking quite openly about a lot of things about him a long time ago, but you said what you're seeing from Trump's vast tentacles of corruption. Toadies on loan from Doug ducey acting sicko fans, you just said it should be very illuminating for those who wonder how Trump got away with so many crimes in his New York City days because people from New York are like, he's always been a crook. We've known that from day one, right? And you look right up through what's happening right now. You're like, oh, of course, he has somehow loyalists and people that are destroying evidence and God knows what, right? Absolutely. He's always had a skill, a 6th sense to attract men and some women around him that he could corrupt. You know, he can look into a crowd and see the kind of guys that are going to do his bidding. The dogs that hunt, so to speak. And that's what his security team was. You know, keep schiller was an NYPD sergeant rammer, who would knock down doors of drug dense in The Bronx, you know? He was the guy who knocked the door down. He went up to Trump in court and said, you need to hire me, right? And Trump hired him. And then when you're walking around with a detail of X NYPD cops, you get away with stuff in New York City, right? Because it's an impenetrable sort of wall of authority. And Trump knows that. And you know, we could probably get into it, but the Secret Service stuff seems very, I worked with a Secret Service ton tons. I did inaugurations. I did the tree lighting at The White House, all kinds of stuff, where the president was at. The Secret Service under Trump was a different Secret Service. You know, and I went to high school with Bobby engel, the guy he tried to choke in the back of the SUV, and he was like a marine kind of jarhead cop type. And that's the type that Trump will suck in. And it's almost like before they know it, they're doing his bidding. Do you know what I mean? Who is the guy? They all set out with the intention of being corrupted, but being in Trump's orbit will corrupt you by osmosis.

"bronx" Discussed on The Bronx Pinstripes Show - Yankees MLB Podcast

"Playoffs continue and they make ale maybe he could be a multi guy by then but for what we're concerned about the wildcard game and the farthest you can look ahead is an. Lds is that he's not going to be a multi guy and luis severino. Who i thought was going to be a multi inning guy but seems like they're now converting to a one inning guy because if you remember severino came back and they said he's not going to be stretched out but he was up to like forty pitches in the minor leagues and then his pitch totals in his four appearances with the yankees since returning his thirty. Thirty seven fifteen and sixteen. So he's going down not up but he's also five but he's also been very effective in position. Just it's changes. What we thought changes what we thought severino was going to be used as i thought he was going to be. Used as multi inning reliever two three innings couple days off two to three innings but now it seems like he's going to be used as like an eighth inning guy and if he takes over the eighth-inning over chad green. I'm totally fine with that. Okay i know chad. Green hadn't affective eighth inning last night but tigreens still scares me right now and luis severino hasn't allowed to run since he came back. And i know. It's only four appearances so small sample size but he looks pretty damn good. So did someone say that. They're not making him a two in guy anymore. Did boone come out and say that. But if you're just looking at the pitches. So i i think a lot of and how many innings pitch if their plan is to continue to stretch luis severino while they're not doing that. Okay i don't. I don't i think that the i think originally i thought that maybe he was gonna. If he's starting at two that they he could stretch out beyond too. But i think that they're pretty much putting him at a cabot too. I think that's where it is. I it's situationally It's it's we've the numbers have gone on pitching really well. He doesn't hasn't needed as many to get through the time that he's there so i think that that is going into it but you can stretch a guy out or keep him at that same amount. You know through bullpen sessions throwing a little bit more than the tunnel. You could do a number of things to keep his arm in a position to be thrown. Two innings doesn't winnings every single time. I don't know maybe. I envisioned a scenario like he. He's a to inning guy. And then if the yankees make deep into october he becomes a four or five guy but maybe that's just unrealistic. Yeah i mean that was kind of my pipe dream in the beginning too but it doesn't seem like that's happening number. Four is that Wednesday's game i thought was just a really bad loss all around Again got hit hard. The careless mistakes still are happening with the steam so the yankees made the score mid at a two run game. Coleslaw him out. In the fifth inning and the leadoff batter pop up into short left field and gallo and geo geos playing shortstop they just converge and the ball just drops it from joey gallo and that's a play that he just has to catch like he has to come in and you're the leftfielder running in on a ball. You catch the ball. Gallo and i know dropped the pop. Fenway lemay you. Drop the pop fenway. There's all these the the yankees waterfall drop in the right field line i think it was thursday's game. Maybe he was wednesday's game where it just like fell in back of rizzo. Yeah rizzo rain over. It's like why can't you guys get pop ups anymore. I mean flat guerrero kit catch a pop either so tapping care about black people. Seventy two multiple people across the league. I don't know at this point. It is what it is. The fundamentals aren't going to get any better at this point. So i just hope they can catch the ball and feel but i still know it's going to be their downfall knowing me. It's like you're gonna if you make it to the lds you're gonna face tampa and if you don't play fundamentally perfect baseball you will lose okay. Well one day at a time here as boomer shift at a time first of all. I'd had time text text for my dad last night. Tweeted it maybe. My favorite tax of all time from my dad last night. He says it's painful watching gary sanchez. Play a sport. He obviously sucks at brutal totally off the bandwagon yellow. I don't really think he's on it. Gallo had some good news with his x ray on his forearm that it was negative. So i don't know maybe they held him out a couple couple more games. was placed back on the injured list is the fourth injured list and for him this year. His season's done obviously They didn't they didn't he didn't play for a week so he didn't play from september twenty second until he pinch hit the other night against toronto. They're saying he injured. His knee reaggravated his knee in the pinch hitting appearance. That's convenient. i guess. Maybe he did fully. Why hadn't he played in over a week. Because there's no explanation because Result was playing and it starts in the line with the way You know one of the giants were playing the outfield or not playing outfield. So that void could come in there. It just nope pinch hitting update once they wanted fairly rizzo is the guy that they want. Office what i wanted. I'd rather have rizzo out there. Because the offensively they've been basically the same and defensively. It's not even close. Yeah so that's it. Gives them the balance in the lineup. Which everybody knows with the yankees love lemay q. His left the game on thursday With right hip soreness. He had the marianas hip recently. Said he's been dealing with this for a while. This is really bad. News for the yankees if he's going into going into the wild card game and lemay Sixty percent this horrible timing coming to ahead at a bad spot for sure So hopefully he can. A little bit of ben gay gets get some Get some key massages. Some somali bengo down. Get him back in the game. He's a gamer. So i'm hoping they can and he can. Just i'm what does a cortisone shot helping there in in that hip area maybe depends on what the hain wise but if the hip if it's like a strength issue then that that's kind of a bigger problem right. Yeah we'll see i. He's just he needs to he needs to tweak the robot until he's after the season and then figure it out. Maybe you know that's what he's trying to do you know that's what he's trying to do he's like he you know he's the run a lot mentality. I'll cut off my pinky to play the game right now and i and i love that clearly if it's too much and he's gotta get pulled like that's that's not good for him. Well maybe he just needs to stare at bronx the turtle some more did you see they see the story. Yeah i love it. And i and i love the fact. That court says the guy You know the shirt that those guys made for him with the res looking like a mario brother adopts a turtle result perfect. Yeah the good luck turtle. So no but like in the story i think. Mlb dot com wrote. The story was a line in there. That said dj lemay. Who apparently just spends minute staring at the turtle. It makes sense. They probably talk to each other through telepathy. There's there's an understanding there with the way. The hurdle is wouldn't be surprised if kluber is also staring at the turtle and speaking in You know a different tongue that nobody understands or mental telepathy to the turtle. Yeah this this this all checks out. It's like. I imagine the mayhew lemay is a no nonsense guy so i imagine him when he heard about bronx the and saw bronx. He was just like his initial reaction was like this is stupid and then he just started like getting mesmerized by the turtle and then he couldn't look away and it's like that's why he's just stares at it for minutes because he's studying the motions of the was then place while i understand why the turtle is in and what the turtle does in the existence of turtle not i like it. He breaking it down on his mind. I've been telling you guys about politics for a couple of months now but maybe you need some more convincing. One of the things. I hated about working out at home. Is that it didn't feel accomplished. You know that feeling after a workout..

"It's like chorus good manager and he has the backing of his players because they they played like they didn't give a crap last season because they still have talent like the red sox have a talented lineup and then this year they started the season. They played for cora. And then i think a little bit of the talent caught up to them like there. Were not going to be one hundred win team. So now they kind of came back down to earth and it's a dogfight between the red sox jays and the and the yankees for the last. What what do we have like. Eighteen games left or something like that. But i'm looking at the remaining schedule here and obviously being jay. I'm going to be as positive as can be the jays. The orioles the twins a law. I think the j. yours and the twins for fourteen more games. I could be correct. Not so that's at least ten off. Fourteen thanks so i'm on the positive side and a lot of people are shirt on twitter. Saying i have a good chance. You're making the playoffs. But if you just look at remaining schedule. And i guess they we have the the yankees forever leaves six. Yeah we're recording this tuesday at five o'clock before tuesday game. Yeah they play three more years and then three in toronto. I got a question for you. How far are you from toronto. I'm in new jersey so okay so what. What are you doing jay series. I mean we'll pump boats of content. Here come toronto. Let's get some a across the borders people in you know you just can't go to you guys. You guys can come here. Can i come back. Yeah you come back. It's easy the only thing is if you're an american citizen you're allowed to non essentially travel to toronto but we can't travel to you guys not essentially you know what i'm saying. Yeah yeah yeah so if you guys have a negative cova test and you're vaccinated. You guys can come here but we can't go there. That doesn't make much sense. It doesn't make any your borders. You're border isn't allowing canadians to go to the us yet that that's what it is. I wanted to go up to buffalo to see a game but like just when it comes time to like getting in the car going like and that's that's that's too far of a drive off day. I'm calling out scott. I'm calling you if this series has any. I'm hoping it's in the same point as it is. Now maybe as like one and a half two games back where what are we i mean. Let's do a livestream think. A livestream is a lot more realistic than me. Flying up to toronto. You told me tom. I will be at that livestream. I don't care where. I don't care where i am. I will be at that livestream. I need people to see the viewing spreads of mea diehard jays fans and you and scott sculpture scott likes the and i respect it. I knew that there will be electric. People love to see it. It would and see the it's it's like unfortunately right now. It's like two ships passing in the night because the yankees are just like. I wish both teams were playing. Well that's what. I wish the yankee because i'm looking at the standings. The blue jays are three back of boston. So there are three. And a half back of of the yankees. They're eight and two in their last ten. They've won five in a row the yankees at three and seven in the last time. They've lost three inner bluejays hud plus one thirty six run differential. That's the most out of anybody. I know it's absurd. They have the third tied for the third best run differential in the american league. It's i mean it's the bullpen. Like you said blowing all those games. Twenty six losses. Because i can't believe it. I honestly can't believe it because you saw yesterday man this marcus simeon. He's an they're going to have to back up. The brings truck for this guy that jay's aren't signing him this is a this is like a once in a very long time opportunity for the jays you have robbie ray who's a cy. Young candidate in my opinion is the favorite just based on how he's been pitching maybe depending on. How cold us tonight. You're marcus semion. Who has thirty six nukes thirty six at second base. You have boba shut. You have lobbied. Hit thirty five home runs in an oakland. He was the runner up for the aol. Vp then last year. He was bad so we took a bridge deal with the blue jays. I guess i'm not really a pro but a one year on yourself. Eighteen million and home runs nineteen but literally. Everyone brett gardner hit twenty. Eight home runs baseball's. But that's what i'm saying like for people that don't understand it. I mean this is the jason. Make the playoffs here. I don't know if it's going to be like this for a while. You're not gonna have these like all star players like marcus simeon. I obviously bones body but this is rob robbie. Ray might not even sign here. You know what i mean. So this is a massive opportunity to take advantage of. Just being so having such power on offense having marcus simeon. There going to be here next year. So i'm very optimistic about it. But they don't make the playoffs. I might like. I might leave my twitter. Well you said you said they don't spend money. But then they signed springer for what was the spirit. You know..

"And i don't want to add another strikeout machine to the roster but he does provide other because he's a good defensive outfielder barroga he runs the basis. Well and he's just been dog shit like he he's just been really bad and it's like if he's not this bad so that's the thing it's like. He's not this bad of a hitter so he will start to hit better and then he does when he provides a good outfield defense and he runs the basis. Well and if he's sitting only two thirty it's fine to twentieth fine but he said at one thirty so that's not fine. It's tough and honestly. I'm one of those guys. That was on. The side of clint frazier. I thought i mean clint frazier. How to good structure with the stats. Last year he hit a four on base percentage. That's what i'm saying. I don't know why the yankees just gave up on him for kind of not obviously gallos guy. I don't know well crew. Clip frazier is a weird situation. He's a man. We have documented. Clint frazier so he gets traded to the yankees at the sixteen deadline and it was pretty much like he's going to be there next leftfielder in two thousand eighteen and that didn't happen and then he had concussion hit concussion issues which kind of derail his entire season and then two thousand nineteen he just was bad and then injured and two thousand twenty the covert season he played. Well i guess at four hundred on base percentage and he's named the starting outfield starting leftfielder in spring training. And then the next day they resigned. Brett gardner and and i know record was not going to be the starting left fielder at the same time. He's the longest tenure yankee aaron. Boone loves him and he gets playing time always like whether he deserves it. Or not. And clint frazier just started. Dad got worse this year and he's had case he's he's mentally weak. I like him. i like. I like the potential of Frazier but i just feel like. He's a mentally weak player. That i feel like if you just put in kansas city or something. He'll hit two eighty and twenty home runs every year but in new york. He's like hit or miss. Because he's just ahead case and i tweeted this and i'll hand up. I ensure brett gardner. I said the only the only way brett gardner should leave. Yankee stadium is in handcuffs. I don't think the player or casket after a date playing at ninety years old. It's it's toss the plate. I mean in the field. He's i'll give it to a very good field. There's very quick very fast. It's just to. I i can't i just can't wash driver and the reason why tweeted us that i believe bet the yankees i think it was. I don't remember a couple of weeks ago out like this guy. This guy's terrible either asked me a better option than i am. Clint frazier right well. He's he's out. He's out for the season. Yeah i understand like you better off than i mean hamen yesterday. So that's why they brought in. Joey gallo because the outfield right now should be joey galloway and left. Joe judge in center surprisingly not a bad center fielder. Aaron judge and giancarlo and right. And that's a that's an amazing outfielder burgling. Well true true. I gotta bring up yesterday's game because you obviously had some opinions about yesterday's game believe the third baseman or shallow gio. Yep what what's going on there. I mean guy look like me and junior college up there. It was jewish shallow. A blue jay at one point. Yes he was. i don't know how. How did that even happen. How trading with the blue jays he was he was with the cleveland baseball organization. What are they held now. The renegade guardian guarding and then he came to the yankees in two thousand nineteen and they just like oh unlocked his sabermetrics and he's legged crazy but Yeah he's been he's been hurt pretty much for like two months. He's another guy so the yankees won thirteen games in a row with guys like andrew velasquez in tyler wade and rubio door and like yes. All the other players are playing better but like they got big performances from back of the roster guys who were playing hungry they were stealing basis. They were going i third and then labor tourism jewish l. Comes back and they've just looked flat as a team since that return. I'm not blaming it on those guys returning because that would be foolish. But i watched the thima every night. And they're no longer stealing bases they're no longer like having grinded out at bats. They just looked flat for the past ten days after they looked like unbeatable. Juggernaut for for fifteen days now is scary that thirteen game ron out being ajay's fancying that jay's I think the jays were doing terrible during that riding the jays loss to the national got swept by the nationals because abroad hand one of the worst pitchers maybe in baseball history was on the mound. Blue a couple of games to the yankees this year. Yeah and just. And i don't know what's going on with the bullpen. But i don't know if you know this statal give give the yankees and your little bit of a nugget. The bullpen has blown twenty six games this year. Which which is absurd. The james goes thirteen and thirteen in those games. The jays and place hold on now. They've blown twenty six games. They've lost all twenty six. Yes they've lost all twenty six of those try blown more games because they've won some of the games that they blow it is honestly. I can't believe it. I've never seen something like this. In my life jay's trade for broad hand the deadline i made a song about it. I wanted broad hand so hand up to me at an i think seven eighty area with jase it just every guy that goes in the bullpen from the toronto blue jays turns to dust. It's absolutely insane and you guys are all this correct we. We do have all this chapman. But he's not aroldis chapman on the mound. He's he's pitching like a shell of all the chapman. He doesn't have confidence. I it's like he might go out there and strike out the side or he and you can tell after three pitches. I've said this three pitches is all. I need to see from aroldis chapman to tell if he's going to have the saver if he's going to blow the safe because you can tell right away is comfortable or is he uncomfortable and when he's comfortable in the mount he's still unhittable but then if he's uncomfortable he falls behind hitters a throws a fastball. Center the plate and it gets hit or he hangs a slider. Yeah you i mean we are on the same side of vowed bullpens. Because i've seen yankees bullpens blow a ton of games as well. Both in has been bad this year and not to toot my own horn. I mean you've been tooting your own horn for for for ten minutes on the show Scott and i do bold predictions at the beginning of the season in mind. Was that the for the first time in a decade the yankees rotation is going to be better than the bullpen this year and i believe that that predictions come true because it's been the yankees bullpen. That's pretty much carry the pitching staff for like at least half a decade. I mean we can agree on one thing is they're more. They're more pathetic team. The boston red sox i mean what are we doing here. I mean okay team. That should be good. That's prophetic the boston. Red sox on last night. Did you see on the top of the nine austin meadows. Hit an inside the park home. Run to tie the game. The red sox like i. They came out so they bring back kora which is just like. Oh my god i know. Yeah it's like the weasel ius move of all weasel moves. But like i knew it was going to happen and then they played for him though. That's the thing that pissed me off..

"And flipped the scrip fast. Go back to the that. Good scorcher team. I don't know how you do that with the drop of a hat next day. Day game a after you just got taking two of three at home against the baltimore orioles. Taiwan's just got a pitch very well. Bought a old cliche goes it starts with the the guy in the mount starts with the starting pitcher because guess what this start that gives them some breathing room to tha but if tyron again can't get through the fifth inning which he has been unable to do as less to starts out how the how the heck are they're going to get five innings out of this bullpen. This team they four wins in a row this team. I'm talking about the baltimore the baltimore. I'm talking about the toronto blue jays. They're scary team right now. I've said they were scared since spring training but right now this this team scares the shit out of me Looking at this more. They're scaring me even more because they have some They got a chip on their shoulder. A little bit of revenge from the the last series against the yankees yankees just got their ass kicked by the blue jays. Basically taking a two or three. They're in a vulnerable position. This is a young team hungry team at at new york in the bronx that want to make a mark these types of kids that wanna that want to embarrass you when possible so not feeling good about that. I'm not feeling good about that. There's a lot of a lot of a motivation for them. They're playing well. They see the yankees in their sights. What are we up. Four games four and a half on on toronto a half hour and a half with four to play like that that they have another series for to play in this series. That's that's a. That's a very clean thing to do when you're when you're when you're looking at the blue jays for some Bolton board material. Yeah all right little little half episode on memorial day as labor day weekend labor day. Monday you guys are enjoying the holiday and the weekend and scott nice so there's a busy week for the yankees just like you said the four games but also we have the jeeter hall of fame speech coming up this week so you and i are going to do an episode after we hear that and react. I i am. I kind of have high expectations for it full. Well knowing i'm going to be let down because eaters. Just going to be very jittery. I think in. I don't think we're gonna get it. He's opened up more. He's definitely opened up more and started talking about certain things. So maybe this is know. I think he started doing that with the player's tribune. When when that whole thing started that was what the year after he retired. And then you know he's gotten he has kids now so there's a lot more of emotions that are like swirling in this man's brain. We'll see how the composure has changed. And how he can do it because this is gonna hit. The nostalgia button really hard for everybody. There's going to be a lot of people there watching him. You know supporting him and He's not going to be able to do this by just like staring out at a screen. There's been a whole bunch of things right. The the voicemails. What he's going to do. I think is go back to the stories and then turn it on people. And that's how he gets through those moments rather than like all being him he'll turn and he'll he'll talk about the impact and he'll talk about the things that certain people did for him and then turned it into like a little bit of story joke. And then he'll deflect in that way he's gonna he's gonna hill definitely have some self deprecating In in the speech over under time on the speech he put. What's an average speech. I don't know what an average i don't know what was griffin minutes. I'd say five minutes. I'd say over the five minutes. I take over five minutes. If if if i were to guess it would be around ten but i don't even know if i'm closing long. I think that might be long. I feel like i long career long career. There's a lot of people can say nice things about him. He's got a lot of people have thanked. There's a lot of things that went on the kid from kalamazoo all the way through all this championships with the yankees. And now he's started a whole other baseball life with with the marlins like he's got a lot how much if any of the speech will have the marlins in it. I think if anything it will it will tie help tie it to just how baseball is continuing and how he learned everything from the organization and is applying that. I don't even think i'll say the name. I don't think. I don't think he'll say that. Name florida marlins new organization or no. I think he'll just say influence how. I have continued my baseball career. Or something. like that. like he'll just allude to it but not say it. Does he mention. He'll go back into the yankee ways like in immediately he obviously will think george steinbrenner. Joe torry probably joe girardi as well since he did win. Stick michael i bet. Stick michael shout here. Does buck showalter get a a mention now. I mentioned obviously his teammates. Kasahda pettitte mariano. Those are the core for bernie hopefully gets a gets a mention bernie's part of the core. Yes she's part of the queen's not the core four that was a marketing thing that that was a very very williams. Yeah why am. I buy completely missing. This guy's name steiner sports. That was that was a steiner sports thing who who who mark them the core for the core five. I don't care what anybody says. Does a rod get a mention. No very strategically not. So because it's like obviously you the glory days without a-rod and then the one i think he's gonna talk a lot about his parents. I think he's gonna talk a lot about apparently he may he may bring it back to the two thousand and one world series and in that moment like just because i getting drafted and stuff actually. If you guys didn't listen. I did a history episode on how jeeter fell to the yankees at number five not really following but like he felt number six because it was called the jeeter five so i believe five players were taken ahead of derek jeter and just like how that draft process went to go. Check that out. We should probably re release some of the jeeter any. Yeah the jeter jeeter centrica histories. We'll re post the jeeter one on wednesday morning the day of the speech. That was the only jeeter centric one. I think that i did. But yeah i mean he'll he'll definitely thank all of those people. I don't think it gets mentioned either. But it's interesting that does he. He'll i think he'll. He'll talk about his five championships. Maybe in general does he like talk about specifics. From those teams or anything. I'm not sure. I think the championships one or an opportunity to talk about the his teammates. And all those things coming up. But i also think the postseason and the moment and that's where i think potentially there will be some discussion..

"Who's bandwagon. That will cool off again despite you. I'm hoping eloi jimenez has big game. This is his chance to charm america. The way he has charmed white sox fans Just I wanna see. Hi mom on camera and excited giddy smiling as a gifted comedic actor. He's gifted face actor like he I think when it comes to just his cameras skills when it comes through his ability convey emotions out saying a word. he's got talent. And i'd like to see that talent show with an ice. Three had game homer into the corn. Some some dugout mugging. I wanna see that you just. In front of the entire national media the fans who have never really seen him play the gracie performance from him. Glacier tours is still healthy right or he's not on the list that he he He got is stomach jammed his thumb sliding into second base the day. So he's going to be out my god. This is terrible. Because your the yankees legitimately have a very good starting lineup. Either on cova. Or on the on the i l. 'cause you've got jiro shell out if got gleyber out like i said rizzo der sanchez. You're almost building an all star in infield and then and then garrett cole could be the pitcher of for that for that injury team. And i love to scrape by with some rain of outfielders but the you get my point. Alturas had a big series the last time the yankees and white sox played in may One player to watch for jose abrego has three career. Home runs against andrew heaney in his career So that may be something to wash for if you're looking for someone To hit a home run. Who's a break to be a good man. If giancarlo stanton aaron judge get a hold of one. I just wanna see on how far it flies into the abyss of corn behind outfield wall I think this this could be a fun game between the yankees white sox again. Major league baseball really lucked out picking these two teams because they have a lot to play for still is we inch closer to the postseason. "Jim margus from socks machine helping preview. The field of dreams game between the new york yankees and the chicago white sox. You're pitching probable for this game. Is going to be left-hander andrew heaney for the new york yankees which they just acquired from the los angeles angels against lance lynn for the white sox heaney has started twenty games in two thousand twenty one to with the yankees The era was not that impressive before he joined the yankees. He has a five point. Four five era for the season with one hundred twenty six strikeouts in one hundred and four innings pitched and is ours this time with the yankees andrew for andrew. Heaney what is the experience been like. This just been to starts. But he's given up five home runs in those two starts any was like two and a half feet away from stepping on a yankees mount again he in the second inning of his last start against seattle. Mitch haniger mr grand slam by about two and a half feet. That would have made the score. I believe at the time six to one. They would hold him. And i don't think he would have started another game and the funny thing is he actually. It was just sacked fly. He got the next guy and then he only gave up like two more baserunners through the next forty six and so he kind of redeemed himself gave the yankees a chance to come back which they did. So the andrew experience has been Just that not great but also maybe something to look forward to. When brian cashman made the trade it was one of those trades again. Just a flurry of activity right before the trade deadline. What do you think the thought process was for the yankees adding haney to the rotation of reports say they talked to the twins about barrios and the price was too high for them. I think they probably kicked the cannot scher. They probably were shopping around for some other guys. kini was a cheap option. Deputies for them that they figured but take a flyer on. I think Some of the underlying metrics on him. I know his His whiff rate has been pretty good this year Even though they are a is terrible. And i think the yankees like to identify those undervalued guys. Mother their offense or pitching they like to find those undervalued guys and buy cheap by cheaply and see if they can get up to get something. It's worked for them in the past. Do you think it will work this time around with educating i mean. He's a free agent at the end of the year. So it if he gives you another five or six or seven starts and is decent. I think that's that's fine. Especially because like i said earlier. The show three fifths of their rotation is missing. I don't expect let's put it this way. If andrew heaney starts a playoff game for the yankees neutral all rights will moving over to the white sox. Lance lynn will be on the mound and for bedding folks who are listening. He's currently the leader for the american league. Cy young according to the oddsmakers ahead of his team. Carlos don and yankees ace gear coal. Lynn has a four point three war according to baseball reference as he carries a two point zero four era in one hundred fourteen two-thirds thirds innings pitch with one hundred thirty strikeouts to just thirty five walks in his last seven starts spanning thirty nine innings. Lane is only allowed. Eight earned runs and in six of those seven starts. He is allowed one. Earned run or fewer. So jim lance. Lynn is pitching like the as the white sox thought they were acquiring this past off season. How do you think you'll match up against the new york yankees. Well you know. It is a stage for him and when he saw the the photos of the white sox in the nineteen nineteen uniform. She looked like the probably the guy who most fit them. Justin turner general condition Disposition just everything. He kind of looked like somebody who you'll rolled off a company town team and got picked up for a hundred fifty dollars Pitch for a month for them So i wanna know what My nickname for him when he was on the yankees was on the show hot dog. Let's gives it looked like he. Smells like hotdogs. Yeah i kind of see that Cleans up well though. He's got a lot of books But when it comes to just his. I guess You know where he is. I think it would be great to see him do what he's been doing that. Just because it benefits the white sox but also with carlos rodin going on the injured list with shoulder fatigue and right now it's hard to know whether just prescribed rest because he somebody who you know if yes to pitch into october will set a career high in innings with the pace. He was on or whether it's something you had shoulder injuries in two different seasons so it could be something that hampers them for the rest of the season. If redon's not in the the picture or can't be counted upon to be in the picture for next two months then. Lynn has to keep doing what he's doing. So this would be as five times any to start and national Stage and you know the the uniforms they all is a lot of. Is this game it would be. I think something For him to turn the kind of start. He's been turning in having the post third out cursing sessions he's been having on the way to the dug-out that's delightful lip readers And might force fox cameras to switch off him. Depending on what words you say and Hopefully it'd be something where he can continue to. Bolster those cy young credentials would not be smart to put a microphone on lance lynn During this start and kit that live audio like they for.

"Because rizzo's not vaccinated and the amount of guys that he's obviously sharing a clubhouse with who did test positive. It's it's not. It's pretty understandable. How he tested positive i to be honest. I didn't know. Rizzo did not get the vaccine until after the yankees for him. I just missed that story back in. May i think. Espn wrote the article back in may when rizzo made his decision. I said this on our last podcast when we talked about rizzo. I'm not going to get on someone for making a personal decision. You know i. i'm vaccinated. And i chose to get vaccinated and you know my my wife is vaccinated and all that sort of thing of rizzo decides for him and a cancer survivor feed decides for him. He doesn't want to get vaccinated. That's his personal choice. I'm not gonna. I'm not going to be one of these assholes on twitter who decides to get all you know. Turn this into something that we don't want to talk about which is get political and like start attacking the guy like it sucks that he got kovic hopefully he gets better soon for the chicago white sox they entered the game sixty seven and forty eight as they lost two out of three against the minnesota twins in their last ten games they are six and four and despite losing two out of three against the twins they lose no ground against cleveland for first place in the american league sensual. They still have a ten and a half game lead in the central jim. What's the state of the chicago. White sox coming into the field of dreams game. Well i was hoping that they would use this. Stretch of six games against the cubs. The twins is a kind of real runway towards getting their offense back with l. o. Jimenez back in lewis roberts in the lineup now and having that kind of disappointing series against kansas city. In in cleveland before that this would be the stretch of you having a lineup. That scores six plus runs before they get into stretch where they play the yankees then the as and raising bluejays. Just it's a stretch of tough games and then quite use the twins series. Like i thought they would and you know to their credit. They i i guess in defensive them they kinda use it in different way like tony. Larussa used Wednesday as a true getaway. Day with anderson and moncada sitting And robert sitting. Because he's going to be in and out of the lineup as he gets back from his hip injury but yeah it just going into a tough stretch of the schedule without still looking like they're fully operational and maybe that's the way it is but when you have a nine and a half game lead very least who knows like the cleveland can't gain like they're physically prevented from gaining ground in the white sox this month they have not the white sox have lost. Three games did not gain a gain in any of those days where the white sox presented opportunity. It's just the white sox luck right now so perhaps there may be a bit lucky in terms of not feeling pressure but while they are have while they do have sports and it seems like it makes sense to gresham is try not to push it and then you should Cleveland start biting into their cushion. Little bit then. Maybe there'll be some urgency yet. Do you think they're in cruise. Control the the white sox. I i don't think so. Just because they're enough guys getting healthy and trying to get back in the lineup and trying to establish their seasons that i don't think they've been around enough as a team. Also guys like brian. Goodwin and jake lamb. Who are just trying to be regular as an china to say they have to make themselves Necessary near there on the cusp of always being booed off a team and having to to hang on somewhere else so they they have a nice mix of you. Know proven veterans who are going nowhere players were injuries and want to get themselves into rhythm and then they've had like this just rotation of heroes coming onto the pension delivering a hot week at a time. And then you afterwards trying to hang in there so. I don't think it's like a team wide complacency setting and i think just mix of things where they're not quite you know whether it's some guys getting ground down some guys not quite up to speed Just it's mixed. That's not quite working firm right now. Jim with being another national broadcasts for the chicago white sox. Are you ready again. Sometime between the third and sixth thinning of the fox broadcast rehashing. detailer russa and your mercedes spat from me. Yeah it's I guess the one thing larussa won't be there he'll be at a Funeral service for his sister's husband So perhaps that's one thing that all him not being there there. Nobody for the fox cameras to focus on in between pitches while they're talking about and perhaps settle diminish it but yeah i am at the very least looking forward to like an over simplification of larussa season with the white sox and him saying like oh all the mistakes he thought he remained. Were really just stroke of genius that we're now realizing versus. Here's a guy who's away from this game for nine years and is getting a new team is having some stumbles figuring out his own strategy outfits nude the game in two thousand twenty one and a half way in the season now. It seems like he's back up to speed so you think so. So you think so. You guys happy. Because i thought it was going to be a disaster especially after the mercedes thing. I didn't think he was going to last the season but the team obviously kept winning winning cures. All as we've found in every sport your team wins. your player. performs can overlook a lot of things So you think he's actually turned into what this team needs. I think so. I think he's somebody who doesn't mind conflict like you look at his cardinals. Days with scott rolen. Jd drouin colby. Rasmusen afraid to butt heads with players even good ones a just if he wanted to prove a point or felt like they could do better or whatever it's like you didn't mind Rubbing a player wrong way and it didn't seem to affect them on the field. And i think we're seeing the same thing. The white sox like tim anderson. And jose abreu are leaders of the clubhouse the players respond to them and then i think they respond to I guess how. Andersen debris responded. Larussa and abreu's ben a dutiful. You against veteran. You're basically saying like you know whatever. Tony wants his fine anderson. Somebody who will be like more like yeah who cares not in a way. It affects the effort. Just if he thinks that larussa is going to be upset about a bat slip or A quote in the media like he's not going to care so i think They're allowed to be themselves lance..

"Twelve two thousand twenty one between the new york. Yankees and the chicago white sox. Major league baseball couldn't ask for a better match up as they have to. American league contenders squaring off in a game that features possibly the american league. Cy young front runner and many sluggers. I got to be on the field helping me. Preview the events and game from bronx pinstripes. It's andrew rotundi and andrew. What's up man. You didn't even practice the last name beforehand and you nailed it so nice job on that. Thanks for having me on it cuts deep when you say possibly the american league cy young that being lance lynn lance lynn. A guy the yankees had very briefly before he decided to turn into the second. Coming of roger clements. Well we're loving it on the south side and speaking outside from socks machine. It's jim margolis which you could follow at sock machine and you could follow bronx pinstripes on twitter at bronx pinstripes and follow andrew ads. Andrew underscore rotondi and jim. Are you ready for the first major league. Baseball game ever played in the state of iowa more or less. It's just kind of a dan the calendar to me. I'm trying to get excited about it. I think i might get more excited about at one. Say actually see it for myself. But so far i would say the marketing isn't quite sucking me and yet we're off to great start on guys. You're you're not. You're not you're not getting like all the all the nostalgic feels like. Are you guys fans of the movie. I guess if you're not a fan of the movie might be cares what's going on here i. I wonder how twelve year old or a fifteen year old feels about this game. That's a good question for me. I enjoy the movie As someone That lost her father at a very early age. The very last part of the movie spoiler alert Gets me almost every single time when it's on. Mlb oil a thirty year old movie. You still got to you. I mean i. I keep running into people that are like i've never seen the movie. Should i see the movie before the game. And i don't wanna ruin the ending for all sir. I don't know that it's necessary to see the movie before the game. Although although i think kevin costner is going to be there so you might. Just be confused by kevin. Costner's there if you don't see the movie beforehand. Yeah it's you know. I'm a fan of the movie. I'm not a fan like it's not an accurate shoeless. Joe jackson from new jersey batting righty rather than south carolina batting. Lefty it just like you. You kind of have to draw a line there and silk treating this as like an authentic baseball movie or is it my treating it like a story. That's using baseball as a vehicle to kind of tell the arc of these characters and look at more like that way so it's a good movie like the performances are good. I like that You know it was one of the rare movies. I remember like watching it. In rewatching the nineties where the lead female character amy meetings character is like helping propel the story. She's not like somebody who gets in the way she's not somebody to overcome. She sat a doubter of the main character. she's involved. she's a big reason why the plot can happen. Same thing with the female characters in the movie are actually involved and Supporting what's going on and driving timothy bus character is the one who's kind of a blanket on the whole proceeding so i thought that was cool. I would say the one thing that bothers me watching. It is when you have the extra coming out of the cornfield. Not just the white sox but the players they roped in talking about all these guys You know they're pointing out. Who's coming back. And they say gil hodges but they don't say like josh gibson oscar charleston like well terrence. Mann is talking about like how baseball is great and ties the years together generations and how it heals. America like they have no representation of the players who were banned from playing until nineteen forty seven so it seems like they re wrote that part or remastered like star wars style to where you just have like some negro leagues players players coming out of the corn and joining them. I think you kind of get that ideal version of what baseball is. But without that kind of that's one thing that i think sticks out and bothers me and stopped from completely enjoying the movie. I think you you. You certainly make some a lot of valid points there. I think as diehard baseball fans which the three of us are that we we have that take on the movie which we probably have on a lot of different movies. I think the classic example of that is people. Get mad at the movie. Moneyball because berra's ito tim hudson mark moulder were never mentioned. I'm sorry that's the reason the oakland as one hundred games. Not because scott had a burden had a hot april. So i just think that it's a certain for for hollywood for movie purposes. Sometimes they have to do that sort of thing but yet your points are all heard loud and clear so the event itself right now. If you go to stub hub as we are recording this the cheapest ticket i could find is nine hundred. Seventy five dollars per seat. If you want to sit behind home plate it's twenty two hundred dollars per seat behind home plate. And i also look this up because the field of dreams is at dyers ville iwa the median household. Income is sixty one thousand four hundred dollars so you do some household math. And if it's your mortgage or your rent is twenty five percent of your household income. This game for local residents is the cost of a month mortgage Which seems a bit insane for one regular season baseball game. Not a postseason game now. It is special that it's the first major league baseball game in iowa. But andrew i know yankees fans are willing to put up some money Especially when it comes to post season tickets but is the event too expensive for fans to attend to have this be an annual thing. Oh well debbie an annual thing. That's that's a different question. I've seen baseball major league baseball getting critiqued for the fact that ticket prices are out of control and i guess the only thing they could do in that case is not allow for third party tickets stub or whatever to purchase tickets and they would only make them direct direct to individuals with maybe four being the limit that you can purchase or something like that and then you could cabinet at three hundred or four hundred dollars because it is still in demand. There's only seven or eight thousand seats so it's a supply and demand thing but so are you. Do you guys think baseball should have done that. Like to make this game more accessible to the fans in that in those in that area that would be most likely to go to the game. I'm i'm not sure. I'm the game that comes to mind when it comes. The closest parallel can think of recently was the game at fort bragg Where the head hill. Only trying to think of the capacity under ten thousand. I think they could show up but that wasn't a military base so he could limit the capacity to people who could actually get into the base. And so you'd have to worry about scalper selling to marlins man or whoever to try to get in like they marlins venomous definitely be. Yeah guarantee you that so it was that kind of situation where like when you have an open stadium in public in a town where you know anybody can show up. I don't know what you can do. And i feel bad for you. Know i guess locals because was already a place where you can't watch most ballgames like i think they're blacked out of five or six teams. I think like just any neighboring state a team in neighboring state. they might wanna watch. They can't do an animal btv that hope that they're your cable providers provider has the channel so it strikes me as a little bit or maybe tone deaf to market a game in iowa which is already a hotbed and has been for years. Like the i guess the ground zero of the whole blackout arguments and four fans who rail against local blackout. Just you can't watch you know five or six teams in iowa and if that this game comes and goes without there being addressed somehow whether it's by rob manfred or you'll local reporters asking about it. It feels like a missed opportunity but also just feels like i was never gonna get attention for that..

"Back and forth here. A lot of people don't think he'd was going up there to pull a lot on yankees on the on bronx trips and i think when i screen shot it was like twenty seven percent or twenty five percent think that he was going out there to seventy five percents that he got denied this. That's the reality. He thinks that he was out there to assess. That's the reality of the situation. I i agree. And i think that i don't want to say that. That shows that boone doesn't have the trust of his team because again like i said i want air coal to refuse to come out of the game in that situation so i like that but i just think it's it it's a microcosm for how out of touch boone is for the moment of the game for a manager that we didn't have those same feelings about in this moment right. Let's say we. We thought that he had a tone like leading up to this point. Everything's been alex. Cora who i think has a good feel for a game and he came out there and then and then someone sent him back in a similar way. Exact same scenario happened. It's not aygun. Alex cora's facing that's right because he's just like okay and he's listening to the guy. Yeah because that would probably say is that. I went out there to pull him call. Call yelled at me and said no which is fine. Spe- right. don't don't hide behind. What was what the reality of the situation is and i think chorus honesty and his When i talked to jennings last jennings said the thing that alex cora does best as a manager is knows when and who on his team he can call out and who. He needs to back publicly. It's not always back baby. Sometimes he'll call guy out if he thinks the guy deserves to be called out and he thinks he can handle it and and to me. That shows that the manager has control of the situation. I think boone lets the moment. Run him versus boone. Running the moment that plays to that a lot of that actually plays to the way and the reasons why he was hired. Run run the moments with the numbers have good combat talk about the numbers of nine overdose. Saying it's almost because of that. He's out of the moment. He's out of the moment moments already chosen for him. In this case it was chosen for him. He was doing exactly what we thought he would do. Go out there and try to get the left for two lefties in theory. that sounds great but not understanding. What actually the situation is and who they are and where they are in this moment goes away from the the numbers and it. Actually you have to use your eye test. You have to use your your your baseball. Feel so time we'll tell because the yankees could come out of the all star break like we've talked about. They have ten of their first twelve games against boston. And they have three games right. After that against tampa i was going to withhold judgment. No matter the outcome of this series. Even though i was going to be very excited that they could have completed the sweep. And i i was gonna feel good. I was still going to withhold judgment to see how they played against boston. How they played against tampa. And i'm still doing that like this loss or not. I still think the team is is severely flawed. But if they have much. I if they have a good first fourteen games out of the all-star break and win those series against boston and tampa. We're talking about the second half a baseball that everyone can get excited about and potentially adding a player to to the roster that theoretically could could help timings. Well that'd be great timing. Because i think when's that tampa series. I think that tampa series is right before the trade deadline right so they go is what they're philly the phillies and then tampa after boston. I think no. It goes four for four against boston to against philly four against boston. That's a three against tampa three against miami. So after tampa series is the twenty seventh twenty eighth and twenty nine. the trade deadline is is the thirtieth. Okay so right there. We're gonna know if the yankees split with boston at home and then loose thread a four against on the road and then lose two or three against tampa. What's the point of trying to acquire people at the deadline. This last the last episode. We were talking. And i mean if they're the yankees It's it's a much smaller percentage. Obviously because the windows tight but there's that last wildcard spot that's theoretically coming out of either toronto or the second second place team in the al west and that's our window. That's their window. If they cannot beat the earliest i just. I've wanted a window. That's still a real window. That's still a still a very real window. You could set yourself up for for the end of the season. Potentially with more pitching coming back theoretically severino who knows the hell was kluber. Get somebody there's a lot of things that can happen to set yourself up to get into that. Last wildcard spot and still make a run could still happen but it's a tight window..

"Chance destroys that to feel go deep really back. A public building out of left field. Haven't done this in quite a long time. You you for in the mood to do out of left field. After you're busy sports watching weekend. I had a busy watching my son weekend. Because leeann had to bridal showers. I went to the game on friday. Remember when we were yeah. They were fun talk anymore. Early twenties sleep until like eleven these these race weekends these horse race weekends were always like on the top of our list when we when i look back and we we reminisce get back for some beers with the boys. It's a lot of these weekends where there were just like packed on packed on packed a events and a lot of them had a horse race in the middle of the remember yankees red sox series longtime ago with the preakness belmont. They're just fun to watch we. We did a minor league baseball game and the day watch those other ones lot of a lot of beers so yeah i wanted to talk about Just just quickly. I saw something. And i wanted to compare the difference in sports in the way that it's talked about the way that the fan bases are just. It was just very shocking to be so. There are a lot of sports on this weekend. If i don't know if anybody else was watching it. I was trying to put my keep my head above water. You know not just watching yankees baseball because it was so bad. The college world series shot out to my odu monarchs who are started won the c. usa tournament baseball and are in the there. One win away from the super regionals. Which is the essentially sweet sixteen. I think of the of the baseball college world series. And they they. They took out south carolina and then they lost to uva so they have a a a one game against you. Probably today i think instead of So that's been fun to watch the the their. They used to have a really good baseball team other. They're back in it Playing well so really fun to watch go monarchs and then i think one of the more exciting sports on television. I don't know if you've caught much of that. I've i've thought this for a long time but watching the The college softball world series. And do you know the headlines or the highlight that went around. Was the jam pitcher who fielded the ball that was in front of her and dove to tag out the player also diving at the plate. It was bang bang. Would've tied the game. It was huge. Unranked jammu going up against a powerhouse. Lots of fun but but that game when you watch on. Tv is a lot of fun because it's the the fields smaller they're closer to the. Their pitchers are closer to the batters. And it's action packed like it's action all game one and it's a lot of fun to watch. I don't know if if you watch any other. But it's i don't wanna yankees sucking though you realize that. Like you're disgusted by the yankees. I sort of watching this because bevan bevan played college softball. Mary washington in virginia. And i started watching after with her a little bit and we have friends that played pretty high level of in d- one topic but it's fun to watch. It actually is a lot of fun to watch. i think it's it's up their top honestly one of the most exciting watching on tele- juice. Because i love watching the little league world series. I find that to be always fun. Embiid brandon bass funds for different reasons. I you're watching softball like their wonder. There's such good athletes and they're they're throwing the ball insane. The pitchers are just throwing equivalent. Two hundred miles an hour flat ground so the ball actually does rise And you're seeing some of these. These pitchers throw ninety five pitches. Hundred pitches back to back because you softball. They could throw back to back and have some some endurance on that anyway. That is aside. We saw the boxing maps last night. The the spectacle boxing match with Logan paulin mayweather. Which was if you didn't know that that was a frequent in a joke walking into it. Yeah i don't know what to tell you if you didn't pay the fifty bucks like expecting to see a scripted like wwe match. I don't know what to tell you if you're looking for anything different you should really just open your eyes because i tweeted this out. But mayweather accidentally knocked him out. Paul went cold like o'clock right in the year. And then maye whether held him up held not not yet big fella. We gotta make some money. This is not going to hit you or not. That not gonna knock gonna hit. It was just it was it was pretty funny and i thought very entertaining ours. The the the highlight. But i want to talk about was something that i saw last night by accident. I'm not a big soccer fan. I'm trying to learn the sport a lot more on blue wire. We have amazing soccer content or football. Whoever you're asking and we You know so. I talked with these guys a lot. And it's it's just more top of mind for me to understand the sport better. And i saw everybody tweeting about the. Us men soccer team last night against mexico. I didn't know what was going on. I didn't even know the tournament didn't know anything about it. I turned it on. Apparently it was a finals. Was i saw the end of the the second half. I think i said that correctly and they They kept coming back to tie the game against mexico. It was fun entertaining. And but the one thing i saw at the end that was like shocking to me. These guys were had celebrated. They celebrated a goal day The one doodoo who kicked a penalty shot scored usa mobbed him in the corner where you have a quarter kick from and just disputes are getting showered showered with cups and bottles and glasses in everything from the family. The fares were just like unleashing trying to give you a do guy knocked out later in the game. Another look like a slushy coupling connected mexico players and took him out. Great did they were. They were falling like shot. Because that's they're trained to do. Apparently but i mean just like an insane amount of stuff going on there. Why is anybody anybody talk about that. Why is this not like when when one thing is thrown on the field at yankee stadium just one asshole had a couple too many beers and threw something out there. Yankee fans are the worst people in the entire world yet. These these things are getting knocked out to the game by trash being thrown at them and it's just like just literally being showered with cups and glasses and like all these things and dudes are getting connected in the face like you're seeing impact nothing. I'm not saying anything about it on social haven't been able to get but it's it's happening all over the place so i i was just the the difference between the global and this was i think in mexico i could be wrong with that but it was a final against mexico. I think it was mexico. But why why is there. A different level of of carrying when it's a global sport like this and it's just like a different mindset. I guess. I guess it's tolerated more. Yeah because it happened earlier in the game he was like. Oh there's trash being thrown on the field and they just kind of move. Think about you know the players are like taunting the fans. Throw them throw more them. Think about whenever you see video footage of baseball games from the seventies. I was thinking of the the chris chambliss home run was in seventy six of the yankees after he hit the walk off home run against kansas city. And there's just people on the field..

"Guess lemay hugh but at the same time and i hate to say it lemay. Mayhew wasn't good in the two years prior to coming to the yankees so is going to be below league average bad the rest of the year. No but he's not going to be the mvp candidate he's it was probably a juice ball product the fact that he was able to slug what he was. He's should be able to get more hits. He shouldn't be hitting two fifty. He should be hitting two eighty five. That's that's that's fine. That's the kenny. Hit the measurement of but see the slugging combined. Slugging going keep breaking number three. But he'll get injured. He caught right. It'll happen for two weeks. i don't who's next. I dunno frazier. Fraser is next. I dunno gary at that point. Because there's this gary next i can. I say have conferencing gary. At this point it's been it's been three years of suck. No i agree in the sense that there's two guys probably that that i have confidence that are going to turn it around and that's glazer. Who again like you said has been playing much better recently. I think he's had a much better approach So i'm i'm in with him. I think he's he's going to be much better and then lemay you. I absolutely believe we'll be better. Stand i don't know he's he again when you when he's on to in the past when he's on key looks like one of the most unbelievable players in the entire world when he's off he looks like one of the worst players in the world t so either hot or cold black or white it on or off. There's no between with him. There's just not and when he's off. He hit a fastball. when he's on he hits gleyber torres coming back. I don't know what happens in asia. Teeth has sixty eight plate appearances. Guess what his batting averages since coming back from covid gleyber torres gleyber torres six plate appearances since may nineteen over. What do you think is batting. Averages three fifths batting average is one eighty five homers three doubles. Oh he's got a four zero three on base percentage and a one fifty three. Wrc plus he's been good. It's really good since he returned from covid. So that's that's that's my. That's the guy saying needs to start. Just i know he's doing it but like okay so you got well. I mean he's already done it. So that kinda ruins that. I mean it's such it's such a such a euro but i said it was already doing it. It's not it's not really going out on a limb on okay but but like we have so much contact on the ground tests told me he's playing better like there's a lot of contact on the ground you're right. There's no doubt about it. Yes he's also from everybody. Grumball's got ground balls throughout the entire. Let's tire team. So yeah. I don't know man. It's one of these things. I'm just scared of a little bit about this minnesota in if they can't beat minnesota i'm a little worried this minnesota but minnesota okay. It can't be destroyed on the road. If you can't take two out of three from the twins detroit a day. It's packing it look. Nobody's perfect even the best baseball players strike out with the bases loaded and the best golfers sometimes three-putt with the tournament on the line. So if you feel like you've come up short in the bedroom sometimes it's perfectly okay but if.

"Qiqihar friggin we. We see some of these guys that are that are put together even a great season. Verdoux go come comes these season. You compare number two mookie. Betts eight threw up close and comes in. I think he was like. Oh twenty eight coming into the series. Of course he has like four big hits in the series. He had a run-scoring double on friday night that iced the game for them and then he hit the home run on on sunday night. I know it was a cheap home. Run down the left. you'll line pop fly. That doesn't leave the park. And everyone's like oh expected batting average with zero nine zero actual one thousand. Okay shut up nerd apart and it was a home run and counted. Shut up this. This is what they want and the fact that they're still pushing the rivalries a fucking joke for real. It's a joke. stop doing it. Stop doing it. You're embarrassing yourself. You're embarrassing the fan. Base is because it's not a rivalry. No one on the fan side. Thinks it's a rivalry at all. The red sox don't want to be the yankees when they see that they're starting to play better but they got a little bit of a syndrome about then they'll always have that but there's not a rivalry right now. There's just not and the fact is. Is that when you see four on the other side you to hate that team. I can't hate that team right now. Because they're playing for something. They're playing with each other playing like four their manager. They're actually they had her night. How'd tommy have tower. Not but they're playing. I mean they're top theater call tips employers four offense players but to say that really good hitters that's true even play didn't even play for better hitters in the have not better than judge but you get my point point is it's hard to. It's hard to hate a team when you look across your team and you see no fight. You see just lackluster mental mistakes. Very small just just just infuriated infuriating baseball. And then you look over that he's is your ticket extra bases they're making heads out plays. They're doing a lot of the right things freaking out of you know. Throwing his frisbee walked the first guy. Inning was not surprising but then you know they come out and they're doing the things that they're supposed to do and the doing anything wrong. And it's infuriating except for aaron judge what. Aaron judge is going to minnesota. How competent minnesota all this shit about missile. I'm still confident. They could beat the twins because they always beat the twins. But so but i think he's pitching jones. Say he's got revenge game for japanese potato pitching in the series the yankees when you look at how their season has gone. Strictly struggled in april against alias teams. They played like crap then they got a little bit better in may and they played well against other competition mostly central competition and the pitching was phenomenal. They had put numbers in here. Thirty games from the cleveland series on april twenty second through the white sox series one hundred. Seventy seven innings. Two point seven nine out of their starting rotation doesn't get any better than that okay. They went twenty two and eight in those thirty games but none of them were against good competition against the competition in their division which is owning them. All the teams in their division are owning them. So where do we go from here with this team. When are they going to snap out of it. How do they snap out of it. Can they snap out of it. Do you have any confidence that this team is going to be turning it around and when will they turn around because if they don't turn around soon they're gonna find themselves eight games out of a playoff spot or or they're going to find themselves behind three teams in the at least guess. What if you're not gonna make the playoffs if you're finishing behind because one of them are win the division and then toronto and boston or tampa boston or whoever does a win. The division could make the wildcard. You're going to be on the outside looking in if this goes on for much longer. No it's true. I mean. I think the record inside the is becoming just ever so more important. When you're looking at how it's gonna shake out at the end of the year so yeah they gotta win the other games against inferior competition and then they start winning every game winning all the games essentially they really do. Look severino coming back. He had a rehab start or was a yesterday. I think in tampa. That's what i saw one. I was surprised to see that that he was like in game action in tampa. So i don't know what that really means but at the end of the day he's throwing to other teams which is very positive. That's a good thing. So i was surprised that he was He was he was doing that already. That said we don't know what he's going to be when he comes back but they do have him coming back right. They have him coming back on the path to come back at least right now. Kluber is going to be starting to throw again. We can't expect a god damn thing from him at this point right. We don't know what the arms are going to be like. A course of action is okay hopefully hopefully hopefully but again rusting resting. On course of action is different. I don't know what that means but it's different but at the end of the day at the end of the day. This offense has ticked head out of their ass completely out of there s and yoka ran out of there is there is look.

Thirty games thirty games Aaron friday night sunday night tampa three teams Verdoux aaron april one thousand eight games minnesota one seven one hundred yesterday Kluber four big hits Two point

"And second base. Those are primarily. Dj lemay who who has been flipping back and forth between those two positions. This dude needs to start hitting like they need him to start hitting just jalen numbers though it would not be that rank your also throwing in odor numbers whose whose know that power moments been abysmal other than that and a couple of moments where he's been he's been good. I feel like sentiment around. Him is still okay but As far as the fan base goes but he's not a good baseball player. And then i basically just been a black hole besides lemay who when he goes over and does anything. So i'm not look. I'm not going to be the lemay you apologised any longer. He needs to figure it out. That's all we all understand that but again there's just so many other problems around him that debt make me look at. It's hard for me to it's hard for me to to too wrapped up in what he's doing because literally every even if he was doing well. Nothing six fifty six. Oh p s so you say that. Dj whose numbers would be better. Y- fine but like not much better than than what they've produced out of these positions not much better now so so they need and i basically powered at power position has finally everyone. Who's been calling for. Chris gittens because he's been lighting up the minor leagues for years. But what are what realistically. What are you expecting from. Chris kittens like he's not the savior of this team. I was joking with someone on twitter. I'm expecting shelley dunkin. I'm expecting okla so a. Brian rappaport on twitter. He's he's one of jj's buddies in he's just he's a huge yankees fan he's like. I'm really disappointed with with chris kittens. I what were you expecting. Expect you to go three for four every night with two home runs. Like that's not gonna have. He's chris gittens. He's he's a twenty eight year old minor leaguer for a reason he also just he also just came up to so. I'm not expect him to come out of like firing gangbusters. he had a couple of good at-bats. But no yeah. It's not that i can give time for sure. It's like no one else doing what he stinks. We've seen over door has been doing so this is going to get door out of the lineup. A little bit more fine. I'm cool with that. So play chris skins for week two weeks. I don't care but like don't expect him to to carry the offense. Don't expect him to hit. he's not going to hit. None of these other major league players can hit. What makes you think a minor league player is going to hit. This team. Fucking sucks dude. This showing so bad show. This dunkin is so infuriating to watch. I genuinely when gary sanchez hit that double in the first inning. On sunday night i was. I was just relieved. A wasn't happy. There was no joy. Just like thank god. He didn't ground into a double play and if they're the only team also in baseball they can get four consecutive hits and barely score a run stationed. This team is has sucked every last ounce of joy out of watching them. They're not fun to watch. The offense is putrid. They continue to make mental mistakes night after night. Double play ball double play ball double play ball errors in the field and the pitching that was on a historic run in may and the only reason that this team was afloat in may is now no longer performing elite. Since the chicago white sox sweep. I tweeted this out for matt yankees podcast yesterday since the chicago. White sox sweep the starting rotation has like a five forty. Okay so we talked about. I asked you the question. What happens if the starting pitching dries up. A little bit. Doesn't have to get terrible board if it goes from number two in baseball to number ten in baseball or number fourteen in baseball then what happens to this team. This is what happens to this team. These were watching it. They suck if the pitching doesn't go seven innings one-run every night and even when the starting pitching does keep them in games late the bullpen is now faltering louisa. Let's in the inherited runner from thanh. Who pitched okay. Why why he pitched denver. Why they pitching denver's though with first base. Open his fucking moronic because the dude. Murders the yankees. Don't pitch to them. How about that. How about just. Don't pitch to them pitch to the bumbling behind him that's what else coral would have done. Because he's a smart manager he would have walked aaron judge. They pitched around. It didn't work out for him. Show a hilarious. Aaron judge score those even talking about fucking chair green green since may sixth which is the game that altuve Hit the home. Run off of them. Okay since may sixth. He's allowed eight runs in eleven innings and three home runs. He's walked five and only struck out nine. He's got six fifty five. Whatever chair green did all to break shed. Green room looked terrible on saturday night. Ticket like fourteen minutes in between pitches yuks to watch this three much. You expect you when we talked about. We had that conversation about what happens. What happens when this team doesn't start performing elite on the pitching side of the ball. You know the the the common sense answer as well. They're not going to do as well right. That's but but you also expect that the offense to two at some point start correcting itself and start seeing you know a little bit more of a sustained progress sustained output and. It's it's happened in very very small spurts very small sports and it just hasn't sustained and yes when you are when you are first of all kluber out Which which was a big which was a big deal for the staff. When you can't you can't pick up your other side of the ball The pitching staff even a little bit and it just stays exactly the same. You're screwed you're absolutely screwed. And they're good. they're in fourth place. Learn reason good boston boston. Boston doesn't give they've got balls give they. Don't have got balls. They come out there with an attitude like they just they just had because cora gives core we don't like hora because he's a he's a he's relentless come and keeps coming keeps coming. He doesn't. he has no filter. he doesn't give a shit they play for him. They absolutely play for him and they believe they absolutely believe and they know that they're going to be in a position to win. But when i heard all the talking about this team about their team and just like the confidence behind his first of all i hadn't heard nathan of all these say more than four words. I don't think before that second of all this guy was like. Who is this guy. He's like a leader of a pitching staff now in in the way that he talking because cora gives them that type of energy gives them that type of confidence to go out there and play even though there's a bunch of ragtag is from different teams..

gary sanchez Brian rappaport fourteen minutes nine Chris saturday night yesterday five Aaron three twitter lemay Boston chris six eleven innings matt yankees sunday night denver cora

"Bat speed was lost. It was just. It was just super ugly. And the angels got a total of twelve point. Eight war out of cool holes for two hundred and forty million dollars which is terrible. One of the worst contracts not worse contract in baseball history. They signed him at age. Thirty two. okay. That's how old judge is going to be when the yankees will have to sign judge if they want to now. I don't think they're going to give them ten years because think tenure contracts for thirty zero players done but if you have to give him seven eight years you're still looking at some ugly years most likely out of aaron judge and i think that's i think it's something to look at like you look at polls could have never imagined this is how it's gonna end for album pool halls when when he signed that contract but he found himself in a situation where he didn't have any regular playing time anymore yes because of his performance but because they had a deviation a first baseman and he didn't want to ride the bench so they released the the interesting thing. When you look at at the contract and you know first of all it was. It was not abnormal for a type of contract like that. Baseball was paying for people and players. What they have done. This has been going on for a while. And i think when they when they tried to make this move when anaheim tried to make this move they were trying to get over the hump and actually i think what they what they really. They were taking a gamble that they could. They could capture the upside on the front end of this contract win a championship finally win a championship. Get over the schneide and and and then live with whatever happens after that. And they couldn't do it they just. They couldn't do that. They couldn't capture this. It was too risky. And i think that what gm's are noticing. Is that when you make big big moves like this early when you're rosters at a point where you think it can win. This puts you over the top. It's extremely risky. Because you're you have to overpay for these guys to get them for the first two to three years because that's where the production's going to be and that's that's a big problem and i think that's where the going out. It's not necessarily the the long term contract but it's more so about the construction of the roster that parallels with that contract and where that guy will be after the first five years that's to me the biggest thing and that's what we're seeing it got exposed and didn't didn't take advantage of it. They still haven't had pitching and after year five. It's you know they're not able to recreate what they were what they had when our pools was signed. I mean the yankees are no stranger to this. Like i said they did it with a-rod they're probably going to have to do it with garrett cole in the last three four years of that contract he's not going to be a thirty six million dollar pitcher when he's thirty seven years old like no one's no one's tricking themselves into thinking that right. No that's correct and for the time. The yankees are also a different team where they can replenish a little easier than angels notoriously spent money. but they've spent it really really stupidly. That's true but think about pools he was. He was mr cardinal like and the cardinals walked away from him. Couldn't fathom the cardinals walking away from someone like albert pujols. But they looked at it and said you're on the decline not the incline. And we're not giving you ten years. I know are cornerstone to our franchise. And we've won championships with you. But from a business sense we have to move on and the cardinals did the right thing. Will the yankees do that with aaron judge. I don't know what the right thing will be when he's thirty two years old. That's the thing if he's watts if he would sign a six year contract and by all means signed him. But if you're talking seven eight. Nine years i i. Don't we know too much about these contracts to know it's not gonna end well when you when you look back again going back to the interest contract. I'm looking at some stuff on the fly is going to the two thousand twelve angels. They made the playoffs. Yes they did but they also traded for cranky that you're in at the At the deadline. So they they were. They were going for early. Trout's rookie year. That was i think it was his second year. He may have had a partial year the year before that but At least a second year he was Yeah he was twenty years old though. That was i think that was his first full year. But you're out of team pool halls. How kendrick eric eibar. Who was listen player hammer. And it was hamilton about torii hunter. And then you look at a pitching staff. Cj wilson jared weaver at age twenty nine ervin. Santana dan herron. And then you add frankie. That's a good team yet. This team is making a move and going for it. And i think that that the trade for drinking that you're clear just completely doubles down. What they were doing their approaching they were going for it in those first couple years and they they understood they had to win that you don't make a trade for his cranky at that point unless you think you're gonna win the world series and they just couldn't do it and i think if we're looking at albert pool halls right now and that contract if they win in two thousand twelve or two thousand thirteen were. I think we're looking at this very differently. Similar similar to.

albert pujols garrett cole ten years Nine years six year kendrick eric eibar Cj wilson seven eight years second year Eight war Thirty two first two thirty zero players thirty six million dollar three years twelve point first five years Trout thirty two years old thirty seven years old

"Popping have happened in april and the april gangs were bad. The bad team very bad team overall bad everything bad manager bad players no good Bullpen was good but the rest of the team was was terrible. So can we get a new clock on what these fundamentals are starting to see any of these things but my problem is all of these things. We know the players at the yankees have on the roster bad at these things it's correct. You're right so i'm trying to get to a point here. Where i'm helping boone out in what he's saying to these guys. But i really at the end of the day for me as long until i see him out there with a fungal drown balls. I'm not going to believe it. I mean girardi literally would go out there and had fun goes to these guys. George has his faults. And i've seen them recently in the past couple of weeks number. Oh yeah. I forgot about those. Oh yeah forgot about that. Oh yeah i forgot about that. There are some moments after. I've been talking about missing girardi That that i've oh yeah. I remember like you know some of these things that would drive me insane Dd not so much girardi. Yes i i think that as the season goes on they will get better at these fundamentals because of just wraps in the way that the season goes but yes. You did exploited in the beginning of the year. What that shows me is that it was not an emphasis at all any kind of preparation. And and worry. That's a word to me but a almost a bigger issue than not having the emphasis is isn't the players are not equipped to do a lot of these little things. Well they're never going to be a team. That's excellent based running and taking the extra basis players to new either equipped to do that though. They are equipped to do that. They're not though when you say they're not equipped to do that. That means that they don't have the abilities or they don't have it in them to do these things and they do. They absolutely do no. I don't believe that they do. They have the ability to hit a lot of dinger's that's what they have the ability to do they walk into his very good professional baseball players. They are choosing to double down on particular. Thanks launch angle st- Strikeouts they come with the approach. A lot of this is approach. It has nothing to do with their god given ability and the way that they are The way that they can play the game of baseball because they're so good at baseball that if they made an emphasis they could absolutely make you improve on. These fundamentally couldn't be correct these things. Good baseball i can forget that. They're professional athletes and baseball's extremely difficult but when they are focused on one thing. It's all about the reps if they get the reps at the a a swing has more of a launch angle and the approach of their mentality right now than they're going to be deficient in other ways and i understand that you can only do so many things so if you're hitting line drives and ground balls you're not gonna hit the ball out of the park either so which is better. That's where i think the nerds come in and say launch ankle's better the approach that they have is better. Let's wait this out. wait this out. wait this out. But we've seen four seasons now where this team is. Not good at advancing. Runners making productive outs and scoring guys in from third base with a productive out. I don't expect it all of a sudden to just get better this team. This core of guys is not good at doing those things you agree. I think it's because of their approach. But yes but i think it's because of their approach. Maybe they could have prevented chase. Especially i think gio lemay you. No problem judge. Even no problem stanton miss changed but stanton just you know he's other hot or cold. There's no inbetween boy. Did i did i nail that or did i nail. That word lasts less upset. I was like just enjoy it while it lasts because it's not going to last them. He goes almost hitless on the weekend. He gets the walk off single but that was his only hit of the week. But if you look at the numbers. I think what he went. One for eleven at the end with three walks also talked a little bit on base. It's just he. He was playing a video game for the previous week. Where a pitcher through a strike and he hit out of the park or he hit a double off the wall. It was is gary sanchez. Got ruined and oliver heads is because of the first month. You had in the big leagues boy. Gary sanchez at on saturday. On sunday in the eighth inning was absolutely pathetic and apollo. Neil in in a in a very paul o'neil way basically called him out for not being able to hit the ball because he was like you only get so many meatball pitches and miss him before. You're eventually not going to get that meatball pitch anymore and sanchez. Got four. very very hit. -able pitches and he filed them back every single time. I don't know if that's just slight mechanical. Not quite on the pitch a little bit late. Whatever it is he was just missing. He was taking good hacks at it. And o.'neil where's the ball. Oh it's called off the screen. It's not in the gap. It's not over the fence. Where ninety two mount are fastball center. Dick should be. And then what does he do. He strikes out on a pitch out of the strike zone. It was a real sad at bat. Real real sad this is i mean this is what we saw last year with him occasionally hitting a batting practice ball out there but a out of the park but so many times missing opportunity square over the plate where he's just either fouling it back or not seeing the ball To where you know he should be as a as a as a beach ball coming at him and being able to to to destroy i. I don't know. I don't know what i don't know. What do they do. What do i mean he hit a home. Run off max. Scherzer and san he he is hayes catching garrett cole. Every time out now it looks like he's catching corey kluber..

Gary sanchez gary sanchez saturday George stanton last year One april corey kluber sunday eleven Neil sanchez three walks garrett cole girardi four seasons eighth inning first month ninety two mount

First of all alex man drought some great questions manton briefly. Make that podcast. It was just so unexpected man and he didn't really tip his cap much to what he was going to talk about. Or whatever so literally. Everything was super authentic and super organic from the moment and what i can really say man that. I think that will make this really intriguing for people. Is that if you were into griffey. And you think that he is. You know like you you kind of know him from the surface. I think what kind of happened over over the episodes of this podcast is that we were able to unpack some of the you know moments and some of the things that some of the behind the scenes stuff where you get to kind of see a little bit of what from my perspective made he and i kind of tick and i just shared openly candidly mad about different situations funny stories or my perspective of different things that kind of happened and i think perhaps You know people get to see the heart of the man you know. That's behind some of the stuff that they might have seen in the public and may have perceived one way or the other. Hopefully it just sheds new light and gives a new perspective and a bunch of like bombshell revelations. And i'm and. I'm certainly out to honor my friend but on the same token i'm just real organic and the questions were great men and it just really led it to some fun place. "The bronx pinstripes show episode five hundred and nineteen. You guys listen to the the livestream. We put out on monday morning. It was from our locker room stream that we did over the weekend during the yankees game. If you guys did listen to it. Awesome appreciate that if if you didn't you don't want to listen to live livestreams because those can be a little convoluted i think. What's did we get get around to like the semester stallone over the top movie towards the end of that like arod's relationships were coming into so obviously the topics get off track pretty quickly on those but we did talk some yankees at least half of it. Yeah no i think it's a good mix man. I really enjoy them because it gives us an opportunity to talk to just more people. It's not just you that i'm talking to which is You know that's wrong talking to me. It's just a little refreshing. It's someone else disagreeing with me even other than you. It's fine i can. I can fight for For for the things that i that i say with other people that it keeps me sharp. I'd like it nobody. It is fun. It's because other topics get thrown in People come with different perspectives. It's a lot of fun you know. We obviously want to continue to grow these. Get more people in there so that the conversations get even more complicated. Because i think they could be. They could end up being a lot of fun when when there's a lot of people in there so my favorite part was when we brought on the pirates fan and i was like asking him about a jason diane scouting report near like. He's probably never even seen them pitch like what he pitched in two thousand eighteen and then we found out the pirates fan has only been a pirates fan for two seasons so he has indeed never seen since up but but he did go to high school a rival school so he was pitching around that time. So yeah.

monday morning two seasons jason diane bronx pinstripes two hundred and nineteen thousand eighteen of yankees arod five
