We talked about when we get one power play before we write back in it and we got the first goal on 5 O 5, which helped. In Columbus evgeny kuznetsov scored early in OT to lift Washington over the blue jackets four three. Trevor van riemsdyk scored twice in the win. We talked before the game about how important these two points were just going in the break, feeling good, a little bit of positive vibes for when we come back and have this home stretch. In the NFL, the Houston Texans have found their next coach, hiring former Houston player and forty-niners defensive coordinator, D'amico ryans to the top job. And according to multiple sources, the Broncos have agreed to trade a first round pick in 2023 and a second round pick in 2024 to New Orleans for former saints head coach Sean Payton making him Denver's 19th head coach in franchise history. Cincinnati scored touchdowns off three first half turnovers by quarterback Anthony Brown. Joe burrow was 25 of 42 for 215 yards one touchdown and no interceptions. If he didn't win this one, I guess technically we would have won the division, but wouldn't have felt like it. So it's good to get this one. We're going to have to play better next week to get the win. Especially me. The bills played inspired ball less than a week after teammate demar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest during a game. Gene battaglia reports. On a day filled with emotion, the Buffalo Bills won the regular season finale against New England Patriots, 35 to 23. Naim Heinz buffalo returned the opening kick-off for a touchdown. It also get another kick-off return for a score. The forty-niners are locked in as the number two seat in the upcoming NFC playoffs. Brock purdy was 15 of 20 for a 178 yards and three touchdowns. We look at it as a challenge, but we're also excited because it's like, man, if we do play to our full potential, it's like, what else could we do? So those are the kind of things that we ask ourselves every day and we're excited about, but I'm excited moving forward for being on a win streak. In the final game of his career, JJ watt had two sacks and 5 total tackles, but the Cardinals lost 7 straight to finish at four and 13. The bears were 29 13 losers to the Vikings, and the Texans earned a 32 31 win over the colts. That means the bears will have the number one pick in the draft for the first time since 1947. The Houston win didn't stop the team from firing head coach levy Smith. In other games, the falcons beat the Buccaneers 30 17. The commander silenced the cowboys 26 6 that the anthers were ten 7 winners over the saints. Obviously, we hit a rough patch and it's not what we want, but we still got a shot. And so what we can control is winning next week, another tough opponent. But all we can do is control what we can control and look at the situation at hand. The jets committed three turnovers to drop their fist straight game, which eliminated them from postseason contention. The Giants have extended their season, Mike mancuso reports. Sluggish Chiefs beat Broncos for 15th straight time, 27-24
"The Kansas City Chiefs scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to come from behind against the Denver Broncos and win 27 to 24. After taking over for the fired Nathaniel Hackett, it wasn't the outcome Jerry Rosberg was looking for. I see it a bunch of talented players that need to come together and need to play with fundamentals and need to understand complimentary football. "AP sports, I'm check freedom. The Los Angeles chargers are in the NFL playoffs. They swallowed up the Indianapolis Colts 20 to three, the Chargers put relentless pressure on colts quarterback Nick Foles, they sacked them 7 times, intercepted them three times. Austin Eckler scored a two one yard runs and the Chargers are in the playoffs for the first time since 2018. Denver's four and 11th season cost head coach Nathaniel Hackett his job, heck it was in his first year with the Broncos, they got smoked on Christmas Day by the LA rams 51 to 14 in Hackett's final game. In the NBA, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving each had 32 points and Brooklyn has won 9 in a row defeating Cleveland one 25 one 17. That's their longest winning streak since it's moving to Brooklyn. And how about to come back by the LA clippers. They were down 14 with three and a half minutes to go on regulation, forced overtime and won by 11 one 42 to one 31 in Detroit. A recap of Week 16 of the NFL season
"NFL week 16 roundup. I'm Dave ferry. The Buccaneers remain atop the NFC south after scoring the last 13 points in a 1916 overtime win at Arizona. Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles. I think it was a total effort in the second half, especially the fourth quarter. Defense getting stopped and the offense cashing in timely plays seemed like we play better in the fourth quarter if we can transfer that to the other three, you know, it would be pretty consistent, but it was a hard fork when we needed it. We got it. No matter how pretty it looked or it didn't look pretty. Ryan suck up entered it by hitting a 40 yard field goal and tied it on a 42 yard kick with two 27 left in regulation. The rally began after the Cardinals took a 16 6th lead on James Connors 22 yard scoring run with ten 47 remaining in regulation. Tom Brady threw for 281 yards, one TD and two interceptions. I would play better there in the fourth quarter. We executed pretty well. Hit a bunch of Brooks and tackles, you know, ran hard, a lot of guys made plays in the past games and contested catches. Got to hear as soon as they caught it and came up with it. So defense really stepped up. This was a great way to down ten in the fourth quarter on the road. It's great to find a way to win. Trace mcsorley had 217 passing yards and his first NFL start, but the Cardinals fell to four and 11. The packers playoff hopes are very much alive after they intercepted to a tongue of violet on three consecutive possessions, securing a 26 20 win at Miami. The first pick set up mason Crosby's tie breaking field goal early in the fourth quarter. Tongue of valoa was intercepted with 6 minutes left. And again, around the two minute warning. It was just terrible how everything ended. And like I told the guys, that's on me and I'll definitely get better from that. Aaron Rodgers threw for 238 yards and a touchdown as Green Bay improved to 7 or 8. A half came out of a playoff spot with two games remaining. Considering where we were a few weeks ago, a lot has happened in our favor. All the games that need to go a certain way win a certain way. Now there's obviously much much left. But again, we're going to be we played meaningful games in December. We want all three of those. Now we're playing meaningful games in January. We got to win those. The 8 and 7 dolphins led 20 to ten before losing their fourth in a row. Jaylen waddle and tyreek hill each had over 100 yards receiving. The defending Super Bowl champs finally enjoyed a blowout win. Mark Myers was there. Cam Akers ran for three touchdowns part of the rams 51 to 14 Christmas Day win against the Broncos. I mean, it's a big deal, you know, obviously I helped to contribute to a win today, so that's pretty much the biggest. The biggest highlight of it for me, you know, Christmas Day, we gotta win. Baker Mayfield through two touchdown passes to Tyler higbee and Kobe Durant had an 85 yard pick 6. Denver's Russell Wilson threw one touchdown three interceptions and was sacked 6 times. It was the 5th time Wilson has thrown three interceptions. They're more in a game. Twice against the rams. We feel like we can be better. We feel like we're more capable of being better or feel like we've had some good moments and all that. But nobody wants to put out what we put out today. That was terrible. The Chargers will face the colts on Monday night. Los Angeles will clench an AFC playoff birth with a win. Next week, the bills can clinch the number one seed in the AFC with a victory over the Bengals and a loss by the chiefs against the Broncos. Should the Bengals beat the bills and their ravens fall to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati wins the AFC north. The Jaguars are in control of the AFC south and take on the Texans in Houston. Jacksonville could lose that game and still capture the division by beating the Titans in week 18. The eagles will take the number one seat in the NFC by winning one of their last two games or having the Vikings split their last two games. So we're working to be able to we're going to turn the cameras. There's going to be like a white Bronco on the 60s. That's Katie Hobbs. This will be the most watched trial since O. J. Simpson. Katie Hobbs and the white rock. It's a trial of the century. Now, a lot of people don't believe that. A lot of people don't believe that, but on our side, people who care about election integrity because everything rests on election integrity. Yes. Well, I can tell you this. We've been talking about the RNC a lot. You're just with Harvey Dylan. I just endorsed her. I know you were just on stage with her. She's wonderful. But the Republican National Committee has to build the strongest legal team that we've ever seen because this is the tip of the spear. What you're doing without enough support. I mean, we have not given Kerry Lake enough support. I mean, I just want to make this very clear. The Republican Party has not given Carey Lake enough support. This is what I've been screaming about all through this election. Arizona did not get enough support. This is guys, this is what's going to happen in all 50 states if we don't figure this out.

Highlights of Sunday's action in the NFL's Week 15
"Week 15, NFL roundup. I'm Ben Thomas, Sunday's action saw two more overtime games, but neither qualifies as the wildest finish of the weekend. That was in Las Vegas, with the Raiders beat the Patriots. Ryan lyong explains how. The Raiders scored on a crazy play as time expired to beat the Patriots 30 to 24 with three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and the game tied the Patriots tried to extend a 23 yard run by ramonda Stevenson, but a second lateral by Jacoby Myers was fumbled and recovered by the Raiders Chandler Jones who ran it back 48 yards for the game winning touchdown. At first I was thinking who's around me. And I felt myself stumbled a little bit after the stiff arm. And that was thinking, who do I pitch it to that? I was just trying to, you know, keep the ball alive. It's when I stayed up, I just turned the jets on and the rest was history. Derek Carr was 20 of 38 for 231 yards and three touchdowns. The Bengals Buccaneers game in Tampa matched two division leaders led by two marquee quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Joe burrow. Early on, this was dominated by Brady and the bucks who jumped out to a 17 and nothing lead, but as Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd said, his team didn't panic and capitalized on four Tampa turnovers. When we create them, turn those, we got to go get them touchdowns, and not three. So I think the turning point was the offense rallying off the defense and making those turnovers into touchdowns. Boyd caught one of Joe burrow's four touchdown passes as the Bengals scored 34 consecutive points, cruising to a 34 23 win. Eric waddell, Tampa. Now one of the games that went to OT, Denny cap. The Jaguars overcome a 17 point second half deficit to stun the cowboys 40 34 and overtime. Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence through three of his four touchdowns in the second half, hitting receivers a Jones on three of those four scores. I think it says a lot about this team, how much we trust one another. Widely Patterson sent the game to overtime on a 48 yard field goal as time expired, that set up rayshawn Jenkins for the game winning pick 6 of dak Prescott as Jacksonville improved a 6 and 8 on the season, Noah Brown caught a pair of touchdowns for the cowboys who saw four game winning streaks now and fell to ten and four. I'm Denny cap. The cowboys have clinched a playoff spot, but there are lots of winning the NFC east have gotten longer with the eagles surviving a trip to a frigid soldier field in Chicago. I really couldn't feel my hands. Equals quarterback, Jalen hurts. Didn't really have good vision on the field. In some, I never play anything that cold. Still, final score eagles 25 bears 20. The lines and jets are both now 7 and 7, but one of them is feeling a lot better about it than the other, Mike mancuso was at this one. The Lions continued their playoff push with the 20 to 17 win over the jets, trailing 17 to 13 with one 49 remaining on a fourth and one Jared Goff hit tight end, Brock Wright, who rumbled 51 yards for the go ahead TD. I know we had it, knew the cutback would be there, and I just thought, run as fast as I can, getting that into. Jets quarterback, Zach Wilson, who threw for 317 yards, got the jets set up for a field goal of one second remaining, but Greg sirloin missed from 58 yards. Other finals, the chiefs survived a trip to Houston beating the Texans 30 to 24 in overtime. The Chargers topped the Titans 1714, the Steelers put a 24 16 pounding on the Panthers, the saints so with the falcons 21 18, while the wolf will Broncos be the spiraling Cardinals 24 15. David Berlinski Describes His Early Years
"David, you know, I think I want to ask you a little bit about yourself and your life, I can't help myself. I do this instinctively. People think it's some interviewers hat that I wear, but I did this long before I ever had any kind of show or something. I just want to know what are people come from? Where do they get? So you grew up in New York. Oh, I grew up. I was born in New York in 1942, February 1942, just a couple of months after my parents arrived in the United States. And I don't think I went to kindergarten. I don't think the work in the gardens when I was growing up. But I went to elementary school and then I went to Bronx science and then I went to Columbia and then I went to Princeton entirely in New York experience. First time in my life, I left New York. It was to go to Stanford in California as an assistant professor. Okay, so you were in college in the early 60s. Late 50s or early 60s. Late 50s, early 60s. When did you know and I don't know if you can answer this question, but I'll ask it. When did you know that you were intellectually remarkable? Was this something that you knew already in grade school or that your parents knew to go to Broncos? No, I was a terrible student. That was lazy. I was indifferent. I was completely occupied with anything but the curriculum. And that went through Bronx science and once most of Columbia. So only when I got to graduate school that I said, you know, there's something interesting here. It was a very you don't get into Colombia by being a dunderhead. You clearly cared enough to go to college and to go to an Ivy League school. That was expected. What was your major as an undergraduate? It was history. History, especially medieval history. Did you have or I should say, did you ever did you have a sense at that very young age of what you might want to do with yourself? I mean, if somebody said to you at age 18 or 19, what do you want to do when you grow up? Well, you have to remember how different the academic environment was in the late 50s and early part of the 60s. And academic career seemed just terrific to me. You could do very interesting work, you were protected, you were an academic environment. You had interesting colleagues. And you could teach. That just seemed to me like a very good deal.

I was the defensive coordinator for three years, and then I became the head coach for 11 seasons. So maybe I was the defensive coordinator for two years. I had a no, but I don't. Anyway, I was the BYU for 13 years, 11 is the head coach. I then left Brigham young university, became the head coach at the University of Virginia for the past 6 years, so my life has been the work of college football, but really the work of developing young men through college football and hopefully serving as an ambassador for our faith and solid member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. And recent podcaster, right? You've joined the squad here of podcasters, you're the, I don't know if you call your shift the host or one of the co hosts of head coach you, right? Did I say it right? And it's co driver. Billy Johnson, I think Billy. I met Billy's really, really nice. Obviously very fast. They competed in the classic 12 hours of Sebring. And they ran Jim's car. Farley has a Lola. He two 98. And they won. They won their class. I guess, I don't know if it was overall. I don't know how it all works over there. But Farley hitting the track again, running that car. Yeah, like to see that. We'll see the car, bring up a photo of that. Well, I sent a photo there was some social media photos that they weren't the best quality. But I think it's green. I don't know the full specs on the Lola, but Chris can look it up. Probably a single center Cedar. Yeah. What kind of 78 Cosworth thing looking? Yeah, so we'll put up the pictures in a sec. So he raced it in road Atlanta, Grand Prix, and they called it a Lola T two 9 8 prototype. One powered by two liter Ford Cosworth engine, rather than using the BDA engine reported, it's likely he used the more powerful BDG and naturally aspirated four banger making 275 horsepower. Weighs out featherweight 1345 pounds with a power to weight ratio of around 350 horsepower per ton. Nice. Yeah, it's a nice, it's a nice piece. It's a quick car. God bless them. Yeah, see, that's a cool car. Yeah. The mirrors are so goofy. You gotta do the mirrors. And then they got to hang up on like a toothpick. And then you got to tie a string, so it doesn't fly off the toothpick. It's a kind of a weird setup, but yeah, that's a cool, that's a cool car. I bet it sounds crazy. Yeah. No livery on it as far as I can as far as I can tell. So they went full 12 hours, huh? Yeah. Yeah. Cool. God bless you. I want it. That's a nice day. We love Jim Farley, man. Speaking of Ford's, no Broncos. Up to something. You know, the Ford Bronco has been plagued with a lot of delays, like a lot of the car companies. It was the chip issue. But the Broncos that were being delivered with the hardtop, they found a bit of an issue with it leaking water under heavy rains or like you're washing it or something. They got on it right away and worked on the fix for it. And now they're happy to say all of the Broncos that have been sitting in their parking lot at Ford that were built that needed hard tops now have new hardtops. They're going to start delivering those. I'm starting to see them on the road. I'm not seeing a Bronco every day. I'm seeing two Broncos a week. You know, just around town, the full size new Bronco, seeing a couple four doors. The occasional two doors is more four doors out there. I've seen this cool kind of gray, like this putty gray. I did see it with the soft top. I didn't see it with the hard top yet. So there's definitely been delays there. But people are loving it and they're raving about it and having some fun is just kind of just the right mix of utility and retro style and something kind of new. The Bronco has the 2.7 liter 330 horsepower EcoBoost V 6 in it. So it's got some power to it. But there are already working on a raptor version. Bronco raptor. And there was a video that came out Bronco nation on YouTube put out the video. And it's just looks like a really nice two, three minute video of this thing just driving in the dirt and kind of doing donuts. It's still kind of had like the camouflage wrap on it but not too much. And the raptor lineup has done so well. The F one 50s done so well for Ford. This thing looks pretty cool. It looks like it's going to have the off road capability. So we have three 30 horsepower engine now. There's a 400 horsepower three liter V 6 in the Ford explorer ST. Yeah. And that would be perfect for this, right? The base having the three 30. If you can get it, there's a smaller engine too. You can get with a manual transmission, but the three 30 horsepower, 2.7 liter. If you could put the three liter in with the 400 horsepower and engine that's already out there, then you get this nice line up of three 30 horsepower Bronco, 400 horsepower Bronco, and then F one 50 and then you have F one 50 raptor with four 50 horsepower and then raptor R, which comes out in a year or so with like 7 80 horsepower. So now you've got this gambit of fun off road stuff. And that's before you even touch like ranger or yeah, imagine if you have a three liter twin turbo that's what not 400 horsepower, you could flash that thing up. Oh yeah. I mean, whenever you have the turbos, you have the ability to wring out more horsepower pretty easily. I think for sure there's an easy four 50 horsepower in there with a tune and probably have nice canon filter. Granted it probably on 93 octave. Maybe you're about four 35 on the 91 stuff we got out here. But yeah, for sure, it's easy to do. Nissan unveiled the GT 500. The Nissan Z GT 500. So there's the GT racing class. I think in Japan it's the GT class. And the GTR, the street car, that car isn't quite done yet. We've still got another, I think, year. Maybe two. Before they bring back the GTR. Well, the GTR hasn't ended yet. We still have the GTR. But for next year, this coming season, they're not going to race it. They've already swapped that out. For the new Z but this is the photo you're looking at, this is the new Z GT 500. It's a GT 500 spec. It will race against Acura NSX and Toyota Supra. But in racing trim, the spec engines for these cars is a two liter four cylinder turbo that makes about 606 50 horsepower. I'm surprised I have a four cylinder. Yeah, they got a four cylinder. It's just the fact that they run it and I think it's they must, that must be a rules situation. That's a real situation. So they can't run a turbo with three liters or whatever it is. I mean, there's some rules. Some things. Interesting because the streetcar comes with it's a three liter 400 horsepower twin turbo V 6. But in race term yet, two liter four cylinder single turbo. Paddle shifted 6 speed is the spec 6 50 horsepower. Wow, that looks like a fun car to drive. But this is going to be a big influence over to the aftermarket, right? When you see the wide body and the wings and stuff, everything that it seems next year for the Z this is going to put a lot of influence on that thing. It's kind of a cool looking.

So as pills running off to do that, there was another thing I did was as I got out to Seema up, I stopped over on Monday for a Bronco for a Bronco press release, Bronco drive. Yeah, it's kind of a media event. And they did it out at the Bronco the rodeo adventure things that they're talking about. I don't know why I can't think of the name, but it's not. It's not a race course, right? But they set up these places. I think Texas, Vegas, Moab, a couple of places, and you can go out and do a day event or a half day event and drive Broncos and they'll show you everything you need to know about the Bronco. And so I finally got a chance to drive a Bronco off road. I haven't brought one here as a press car for the week or anything like that or driven it around town. But it is kind of cool so you get in I got jumped into the Bronco four door. I think it was sasquatch, it could have been badlands. It had all the features on it. And you hit the ground running you're able to kind of go pretty fast in the dirt. And then you get to The Rock climbing section. You hit the button on the dash, it disconnects the sway bar and you have front and rear differentials that you can lock or unlock or do whatever. And so you do The Rock climbing and then you do some whoops, you can do some more high-speed stuff and it really is kind of cool. And incredibly capable machine. I think I only got to spend about 15 minutes in it. But it seems like a lot of fun that I think those of you that have Broncos on order, I think you're going to love them. And those of you that don't have a Bronco on owner, don't worry about it, I think we've been making plenty of them as we get up to speed with these chips and stuff. While there, they debuted the Bronco DR desert racer. Now, if you're familiar with the four Mustang cobra jet, they made 50 of them, I believe. It is a turnkey drag race vehicle. You have to have the NHRA license. You apply to get the car and for some amount of money you can get a turnkey racer and take it out and race. Well, the Bronco DR is that it's a turnkey racer the doors don't open. Huge flared fenders off road suspension, spare tires in the back. And it's basically a Baja racer ready to go. They're going to make 50 units. It's 250,000 bucks. But the cool thing is, it's got a 5 liter coyote engine in it. And when they fired it up and debuted that thing, it sounded awesome. It's a very, very cool piece. So let's do this. We'll take a.

"To buy one of those. 'cause I kinda like it, too. Yeah, but you're right, I'm not going to spend a $130,000 on it. I've got to have the right accent to pull off the whole. I've got a car that's just dead 7 9. So you guys, you guys took both of them off road and I assume you don't know if you just sort of arbitrarily find a place or do you have a place that you guys typically go to? Where do you do your off road testing, you guys got a regular? Yeah, there's a few. There's a few places that we use. One is we use hungry valley, which is not far from LA that's like an hour and a half outside the city. This time we went to calico ghost town, which for those who don't know is sort of halfway between LA and Vegas. There's a sort of famous 50s diner Peggy sues out there and I think California's biggest service station bizarrely. And there's a path you just basically turn off the highway and up you go into the mountains and people go at the weekend and shoot stuff. So there's always loads of like cartridge cases hanging around, but it's an amazing part of the world. And you can just go and have a have a play. And it was wonderful. I mean, it was work, obviously, but it didn't feel like work. It was a great day out. Yeah. Okay. And then. How did they, I mean, I guess the two questions, right? How do they ride on road versus each other? And how do they ride off road versus each other? So on road, the defender is the choice. I mean, if you're going to road trip these cars you'd want the defender if you're going to he's still there. Lost to your momentarily. Yeah, you're back. Yeah. If you, if you're going to road trip, the defenders just more comfortable more refined. You know, less noise, that kind of thing. But the Bronco is absolutely fine to as on the road. And then off road, it's sort of a similar story. I mean, the difference is the defender we had as air suspension. So what it tends to do is you Jack the air suspension up, but it kind of lifts up its skirt and off it goes, whereas the Bronco is more mechanical, passive in approach. But both are emancipated. I mean, both have got even a trip we had got obviously high in low ratio gearboxes, the defender was center diff. It's got it's got all sorts of terrain response systems, so you can set it up for driving on sand for modern ruts and you know everybody's playing this game now and the Bronco also has something that's a bit unusual. It has like a one pedal driving mode, which is not not dissimilar to what you get in an EV. The idea being that when you lift off the throttle, it actually effectively breaks the vehicle. And in theory, this allows you more control. Honestly, I found it quite difficult. I found it like it was quite hard to get my head around and I think you just need time with it too. Yeah. And I've recalibrate to have it a bit like the first time you drive an EV and you're left off and you kind of suddenly realize that you've slowed down a lot more than you expected. Yeah, I felt the same way driving the maki the first time with the one pedal feature turned on. I was like, it's a little weird, but you do have to focus for a second. You have to kind of think about what's going on with the car. Yeah, then you brain to recalibrate and you probably okay, but yeah, I mean, for any sort of hobbyist, these things are fantastic off road. And then I think obviously the aftermarket will kick in as it does for Wrangler. It'd be interesting to see as time goes on how many people start really modding modifying the defenders. I think there'll be an enormous aftermarket for Bronco and I think Ford actually set the vehicle up to facilitate that. If you look at how many auxiliary ports, there are in that kind of thing. I think that, you know, they're up for embracing that. Defender will be interesting to see how that evolves and how many tricked up defenders you start to see. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't imagine going to Moab and seeing 50 defenders lined up against 50 50 modded wranglers and Broncos. Yeah, no, that would be cool to see though. It was super cool. You know, I agree with you. I think Bronco was set up from the get go to be highly modified. I kind of like the idea of Ford embracing the aftermarket, but not to mention also embracing the forward performance catalog and what you can get a dealer accessories. It's a great business model for the dealers and what Ford is doing with the vehicle. But I think the aftermarket is really going to get a hold of this thing and have some fun with it. We were kind of thinking Broncos were going to be everywhere at sema this year, and there will be quite a few, but as you pointed out, you're still waiting for yours and several companies that I talked to said that they've had some difficulty getting the Broncos that they needed for R and D for developing parts. So I think there's going to be quite a few Broncos. I think people got pretty creative on how they were able to source Broncos, meaning just the aftermarket companies that bought them for R and D instead they're just reaching out to every customer out there that they have that might have gotten one before them and saying, hey, can we borrow it? Can we use it? What can we do? Let's work out a deal. And try to get them out there, but pretty pretty wild. I don't know where Chris ran off to, but all my screens in here are going wacky and turning blue and it looks like they're not really rebooting, but I can still hear you. And I can still see for a moment it went with one of those kind of what do you call it? I multicolored things. It's back. I got to see. I can see how handsome face looks all good. Yeah, are you going to try to make it to sema? That was the thing we've been talking about. Your first sema. No, I beat you to see me before I even had dinner with you. Oh yeah, that's right. "The reality is is every time I'm coming here, I'm making phone calls and trying to get some work done on the way through car play or something. And I just don't know how feasible. Having no roof on there all the time, how loud it is or the big tires, obviously that's an option. You can get quite a version for it. But, you know, when you get into a Bronco, you know, you said, you know, you see sort of some of the mechanical bits, the fasteners and stuff. But can you get the thing with the hardtop and have it be quiet or is the hard top just a piece of plastic? Is it livable as an everyday? If it starts to rain, is it gonna sound like you're like it's about to bust through the ceiling of the vehicle? I don't know. Yeah, like you're living in a tent. Yeah, I mean, to be fair to the ring, 'cause we also have a we have a rang do on our fleet, which is now used as like a filming support vehicle when we go off road, and that's got 75,000 miles on it. And that's got to removable hardtops. That's got like the target top on it. And that's actually pretty good. I mean, you know, we can kind of overstate it all depends how you mean that is a Rubicon on big tires, but it's got the hard top, but I think a lot of these things on how you spec them. But the defender, sorry, the way I would probably best describe it is when you think about the original defender and how hardcore that was. And bragged and how thousands of miles in those and everyone was painful. And in many ways, the new Bronco is a modern interpretation of the original defender. So it's like if you draw a straight line from defender to arrive at Bronco, not at new defender. But that means that actually it's got all the fancy screens, it's got a massive touchscreen, a car play, and everything else as does a Wrangler incidentally. But you know, so it works as a vehicle. And I think, yes, you could absolutely make those calls in it. But then when you jump into the new defender, it is a different vehicle. It's still amazing off road, genuinely extraordinary. But it's much more towards an SUV. Yeah. So, you know, you can't take the doors off the roof as the hours had like a fabric sunroof, if you can't get a removable roof at the moment and things like that. I think Land Rover knows its audience. So it is much more of a SUV that's incredible off road. Right. Whereas the Bronco is like a proper fun. But I mean, honestly, I think in myself the same question we are about to buy one to live with it for a year. So ask me in 6 months. But I did actually think I would have one of these. Maybe not if I was going road tripping every weekend or at a massive commute. But if I was just like knocking around home or that's the thing, let's face it, we all do these days. Yeah. And then yeah, I would live well with one. Okay, so tell us about the Bronco versus defender matchup. You know, obviously, I think it's a great matchup because you know, the defender came out. I thought it was good. I drove it. It was fun. You know, like what you're saying. You get a little bit of the luxury from the Land Rover brand and you get the incredible off road capabilities. But yeah, you're still kind of feel like around town. You get to drive a luxury SUV. Now, granted, the defender certainly the one that I drove, a lot of plastic bits, a lot of easy to wipe down easy to clean, kind of off roady bits on the interior. Certainly not just covered and covered in leather like a Range Rover so it is a bit different, but yeah, I heard a lot of the Bronco is what the defenders should have been and the defender kind of went a little upscale, which is fine. I kind of feel like you're right. You know, four knows the Bronco audience at this point. And Land Rover knows the defender audience at this point. But how'd you guys how'd you guys pair them up? How'd you guys do? Well, it's interesting. The defender is a few thousand more sort of model for model than the equivalent Bronco. And you just sort of have to accept that. But it does feel more expensive. You know, you get inside and a lot of the material choices are better. It's incredibly heavy. It's 500 pounds more heavier than the Bronco, the defender is an absolute lump. But you know, you feel you feel that in the way it's I think there's always a difference between perception of quality and actual build quality. So I think it'd be wrong to say that the build quality of the Land Rover is better than the Bronco, but the material choice, the material choice, definitely is. It feels like a luxury good whereas the Bronco is quite utilitarian. Yeah, okay. And that and also the my opinion is one of these things is subjective, but the defender also looks a bit soft. I said in the film that if you're in like Birmingham, the UK, which is where land rovers headquarters or Coventry near the road, you know, if you're in Birmingham UK, this thing looks quite hardcore. If you're in Birmingham Alabama, it doesn't. It doesn't. Right. And your party next to the Bronco, and it does look a bit soft. And especially if I was was like green and white with 20 inch rooms. So again, specs important. But if you, if you actually get the defender into the rough stuff, it's amazing. And both these vehicles are superbly competent in off road evening the specs we had them. So the defender can absolutely do its thing. It just doesn't necessarily look like it. And I'm a little bit disappointed that they haven't done a version and who knows? Maybe they'll come out with it yet, which was a little bit more back to basics. You know, this is a, this is still a pretty sophisticated piece of kit built for Land Rover customers as opposed to an attempt to steal sales from Jeep or now Ford. Yeah, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they actually doing the opposite? They're taking a defender and doing like a hotter sportier, like 400 horsepower version. By doing a they've got a V8 with 5 50. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. There you go. Yeah, I'm excited about it. Yeah, that will have 40 inch rims and will only ever go on road. There's also one of just one other in the Bond movie No Time to Die. There's No Time to Die edition of the defender with the V8. And it's really naugh, but I kind of wanted one. Yeah, yeah. Like a 130 grand or something. I'm obviously not going to buy one. But I did look at it and think that's really nice but I quite want one. And it says, it says there were low 7 on a little when you open the door and all sorts of stuff. All right, yeah, like maybe the puddle light, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. You gotta be British, obviously, to buy one of those. 'cause I kinda like it, too. Yeah, but you're right, I'm not going to spend a $130,000 on it. I've got to have the right accent to pull off the whole. I've got a car that's just dead 7 9. So you guys, you guys took both of them off road and I assume you don't know if you just sort of arbitrarily find a place.

"URL we've had on this show. Bronco stuff, I mean, we're getting so much Bronco news and now that the cars are coming out there. First of all, Bronco similar to Tesla, people are so excited about it. It's going to be the game changer and it's going to blow Jeep out of the water and it's affordable and there's somebody options and it's modular. Certainly the way it's been presented has no choice but to be just a fan favorite among off roaders and journalists. But now that you guys are getting some time with a Bronco and you did a Bronco versus defender test. I would imagine there are some flaws haven't gotten into it too much, but tell us a little bit about Bronco. Now that you've been into it, what do you like or dislike about Bronco? And then we can get in a little bit of the fun Bronco versus defender test that you guys were doing. Sure. I mean, this was a two door that we had. It's a really good-looking car. We had a half hour turned into a half hour epic that we went live on our YouTube channel last Friday, which was comparing the two. This is a two door, but we have a four door on order, which I think we talked about this on the last show was due to arrive last December. Hopefully we'll arrive this December. We're still having got it. This is the this is the first edition, which is now imagine this was a book with bow onto the 6th reprint and we still haven't got the first edition. But yeah, it was actually the first time away from like a press event to me with a car and properly taking it both, took it to the track, took it on took it off road, obviously drove it on the road as well. And it's a good thing. I mean, it really is. I think so much first attention, everybody wanted it to succeed, because it looked cool and it was a great rival to the Wrangler, which is sort of had the world to itself for a while. And I think Ford's done a Fords that are really solid job of a putting together a very competent vehicle, but be injecting it with the right amount of fun and quirkiness and you know sense of excitement. I mean at heart it is, it is a Wrangler. It's a straight rang the rival, and it's a sort of better. It's a better Wrangler. And I think the best, the most obvious way in which it's better is on road. I don't really last time you drove a Wrangler, but you know, it's still, it's not as painful as it once was, but it's still not a great on road experience. You know, the steering wanders a little bit and things like that, you have to particularly on the highway and get quite tiring. The Bronco is much, much better in that regard. The steering's a lot better. I mean, this is a car that you could take, you know, you can hap take on a long distance, drive, but it retains that kind of utilitarian chic if you like. That sort of fairly basic feel that the Wrangler also possesses. So the doors come off depending on which roof you have they come about. That comes off as well. And, you know, it's still quite, you know, it's a little bit rough and ready inside. You know, you can see the joints you can see how things have been bolted together and you know, we can talk about the defender in a minute, but it's not trying to be an SUV. It's very self consciously and off road focused. Cheap with a small J and you said you drove the two door, but which modeled which trim model did you drive which engine did it have so this was this had the bigger engine and this was the most road focus. So this was an outer banks, which means that you don't get you don't get all the off road toys and you get things like painted wheel arches, which is about as posh as the Bronco gets. But and also the alcohol had what you call them side rails, which are the most stupid thing in the world if you're going serious off roading. You know, the things that you step on is you get into a car. I just side rails, isn't it? Like running bullets sorry. Yeah. And so we were actually on both the defender and the Bronco were both reasonably road focused and we wanted to do that partly what was available, but also we wanted to give people a sense if you know what people are going to buy and a lot of people are going to use these predominantly on the road and then occasionally go off road in them. But yeah, it's a hell of a thing. There's also one feature that's really cool called trail turn assist. Yeah. And what this basically does, it's like a old fashioned it allows you to do like an old fashioned handbrake turn effectively. You break your we call it. Basically locks or it applies the brakes to the rear tire on the inside. So if you're turning if you're turning right, it will break the rear right wheel if you imagine that. Yeah, right. And it does that to basically pivot the car around that wheel. So it's almost like grabbing a handbrake. So as you turn in the wheel, that tire will lock, and it allows it to sort of do a little U turn. And particularly when you're off road on a low surface, it makes a massive difference to your turning circle. It will work on the tarmac, but obviously you're going to flat spot your tires pretty quickly. So yeah, right. Yeah. But it's a really cool feature that actually works. And how do you activate it? It's just a button on the dash. So you can't have you can't have the rear diff locked and then use that function. So but you can it'll work in low ratio and high ratio. And you just hit a button and then you just drive along. And you can do donuts off road with it, because it just keeps it. It's somehow keeps locking the inside tire and you just go around around doing little donuts. You actually did it in the video. It's awesome fun. Okay. All right, so let's talk about, well, first of all, I want to go back to, is it an everyday driver? Is it the replacement? I mean, on some level for a lot of people Jeep is, but you know, every morning, when I get up and I head out here to the studio, there's no way you don't see a Jeep on the road. Of course you just see a Jeep on the road. But I do start to think out. I see a lot of the two doors, a lot of the four doors, and I see it sort of with the doors on in the windows up, but sort of a soft top thing going on on the top, and maybe the back is open and it just looks like sort of a tarp on it, which is what I saw this morning. And I started to think it's cool. I like the Jeep. I like that aspect of it,.

I did a piece a month ago now on the Tesla Model S plaid and this part of that test is a full sort of instrumented test really deep dive. But as part of it, we have a little area of our test track, which is a really low grip surface. And it was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the yolk steering wheel, which if people aren't familiar with it, it's like an airplane steering wheel. So you have basically the top of the bottom of the steering wheel missing. So what you're having in Formula One cars, but Formula One cars only ever do a quarter turn of log. And it just demonstrated how bad this is and how fundamentally appalling idea the whole kit. And it's the only wheel you can actually get on the plot. And everything just went nuts for us. We published it on Twitter over 2 million people have seen it on Twitter. And I just started getting this sort of, I don't think abuse is too strong a word for it. You know, everything was wrong with me, how I was failed journalist and how his bought by big oil, big oil. It's like, what's big oil? I think I've ever been paid by an accident in my life. But and then it went on and on and I've even had people. I mean, this was mainly on Twitter for me then because my Twitter handle is on Instagram and we've run cars, but somebody found me on Instagram and just the other day. I woke up to you're an absolute disgrace, you're the worst journalist in the world. It's like Saturday morning. Who does this stuff? So I wrote a piece on install LinkedIn, which as you'd expect, I'm connected with a lot of people from the auto industry including a lot of people in the EV space. And that went crazy as well. Another sort of 15,000 people viewed it there, commentary from every way. You could see the BMW Munich was raiding it Mercedes and she stut because I had one of these premium average car things that allows you to see who's reading what. And it's just been incredible. I mean, I'm clearly no celebrity. And I know Bill gets a lot of this, you know, from his from his profession. But with Bill, it's kind of pantomime villain stuff. What was starting to concern me about this is this is really vitriolic. Yeah. And really, and it's just a real insight into how bad this can get. And on YouTube, we had we had a drag race against a super bike that's 1.2 million views or something. And then I did the test. And the Tesla fanboys, fun girls as well, presumably, organize themselves so that they came into the and we can see all this because we have the metrics. They came into our YouTube channel. They gave the video a thumbs down within the first 5 seconds. So we didn't get a view. And the idea of this is that it actually affects.

"I think the danger of taking him as your top running back or your second running back is that you got to make sure you're planning ahead in the rest of your draft. I just don't know like there's not enough indicators. Right now that he is going to be the guy from the start of the season that i could feel comfortable drafting him and start again in week one and expecting it to be no doubt about it decision. He's ranked rb twenty. Excuse me ranked rb twenty nine for me in part because of what i think. It looks like by the end of the year matthews drawing this comparison and a couple of different cases. This year's camakers right like may not start that way but it could finish the way. They came acres finished last year. I think is appropriate. But i just want to. The key was an early target for a lotta people and right after the draft. Cause he's a good player. One of the two running backs from north carolina drafted this year news. a high second round. Pick like that's pretty valuable. Draft status but melvin gordon still a factor until proven otherwise. Like i kinda think. He's a little bit underrated. Now's a player. So johnny williams really talented guy and may get there eventually but daniel. I'm not quite there is like a starting target for me. Early my draft. So here's my question for you then is. Is this a situation where you're drafting either. Zero running backs from the broncos or two running back from the broncos are you okay grabbing either one or if you're going to grab one. Would you rather grab melvin gordon. Around later than devante william. I'd rather have devante williams. There's a better chance like if one of them sixteen games. I think is going to wind up being fourteen games. I should say fourteen games of the seventeen. I think it sh avant williams like by the end of the first month of the season. They're like okay. He's just too good. We can't we can't hold them back anymore. Sure i think there's just the scenario in which a broncos running back is a consistent top fifteen play more likely involves to bunt they williamson does said great. Now he's going. Ford is trying to to build as many as they can. They've been turning their reservations into sales at very impressive rates. We've been just the last couple weeks. I think bruce we've We've had issues with. We've had tana rookie. Orcs three of which are about the roof in some aspect. Yeah the the the soft top Being rubbed through the soft top on the soft top rubbing against the robot. Taking the paint off article. That i wrote he the i can share this up. You really quick plug my friends at t.f. L. t. f. l. off road there channel. They ha they bought one. Yeah i saw that. that'd be bought one. The roof makes all sorts of noise. Might get friends. Video is reporting. It doesn't stop making noise when we drove it. For the first time on the media drive there was enough wind noise that i felt like i was driving along in a tents on the highway and the engineer said that the car we were in was an anomaly and that we shouldn't expect that of the production carb so i mean the the article that i wrote of the guy had a lot of attention over the weekend. There's there's whistling noises kind of going along with decide. Clint whistling noises. And i was trying to do little just a little bit of a little bit of backstory little bit of research. It looks like there's a couple of areas that are being looked at at least from owners. I got confirmation from four that they're doing something with the grill. Apparently the grill on certain models. And i'm gonna have to look at the article to remember exactly which models here i issue is something about the side mirrors. There's another airflow other tallis's issued a esp that that the whistling due to abseiling around the grill applies to be bronco big band and outer banks trim levels presumably because they have a specific real design. Apparently air is getting in through there. And it's doing. Its magic dance around this hood seal which then makes a noise that's my that's my impersonation of a bronco whistling. It's totally not i. I gotta get a better filter here. But beyond that. And they're supposedly working on a new seal. But there's another issue that bronco owners have been talking about relating bruce like you said to the side mirrors and that seems to be more of an issue that i've been seeing it forms people talking about because they can actually move the mirror..
