"Yeah I mean we saw this affidavit league and you've written many books about the attacks on Donald Trump And there's a fascinating piece I've been addressing in the hill by a former assistant director in the FBI by the name of Kevin Brock In the piece again this is a pretty sober guy He's not like a hyper partisan guy I don't know him personally but I've said that before he doesn't really drop a lot of flame in his pieces He's like this is going to backfire badly And the first point he makes I wanted to address with you is that it's kind of comical that the same left you and I have been attacking for their relentless war on Donald Trump That promoted the pee pee tape hoax and the colluded with the Russian hoax They really believe that hiding underneath these redactions despite no evidence whatsoever and no leaks about it is some kind of pulverizing his words in our mind information that's going to do them in Isn't this the walls are closing in version 1500 1500 12.5 I mean this is getting ridiculous now Yeah I mean Dan everything you know now we find out that Avery Haynes is going to be doing an intelligence community assessment to see what damage was done I mean that sounds familiar right Sounds like russiagate because it is Russia gate In fact I think that you and I I think that I think that you and I can basically prove that right now your audience is the one best prepared to understand all this stuff and I've just been looking at different I've just been looking at different news reports and I think we can put it together if you got a couple minutes

Kevin Brock: The FBI Is Going to Regret the Mar-A-Lago Raid

"Speaking of the FBI, here was retired FBI assistant intelligence director Kevin Brock being interviewed by John Solomon at just the news dot com. I should not participate in this investigation. It was the earlier point. It was initiated by the national archives that is something that needs to be settled along established groups in that regard that have been traditionally used. There was no need for law enforcement involvement in this. And there was certainly no need for an invasive search for the residents, I think they're going to regret this. You know, many people, even on the left side, if there's no smoking gun, if there's no real meeting violation here. That's right. I'm not going to go well.

Charlie Chats With Anonymous Genius “Kane” of Citizen Free Press

"I'm sure many of you have noticed in the last couple years how drudge report has just become a left wing rag. It's unreadable. I used to go to drudge all the time. I don't go anymore. There's a new website, though, that is surging in traffic. They do a wonderful job of aggregation and staying on top of the news. It is citizen free press dot com. They're I have to tell you traffic is unbelievable lately. And the man behind citizen free press is someone just called Kane. You could call him Citizen Kane. He stays anonymous so that the left doesn't screw with him and that he's able to continue to operate the website freely to give an idea. Susan free press had a 169 million page views in the month of July. That is more than Politico, The Wall Street Journal Huffington Post, NBC News, TMZ, CBS News Daily Beast, ABC News, and more. And the man behind citizen free press, who is just called Kane. He lives in Bloomington, Indiana, and moraine anonymous for many reasons, of which I fully support, joins us right now. Citizen Kane, who runs citizen free press, how are you? Welcome to the Charlie Kirk show. Thanks, Charlie. Glad to be here. And yeah, I'll touch on that a little bit. Look, from day one, I wanted to avoid any interaction with David Brock and media manner. And it's only grown in the last 5 years since I've been running the site, so it helps to stay anonymous. And somehow I've been able to do it for 5 and a half years. No one has no one listening has ever recognized that photo. Those are the colonnade of Thomas Jefferson's lawn in Charlottesville at the University of Virginia. So that's actually a reunion photo. So I'm a graduate of the University of Virginia. The Left's Scorched Earth Campaign Against Trump's Lawyers

"The Russian general clausewitz famously said that war is a continuation of politics, a policy by other means. What I want to talk about is the scorched earth campaign by the left against the Trump lawyers. This is something that is known as project 65. It's aimed at going after the Trump lawyers who supposedly assisted Trump in challenging the election results. And what this is is it's kind of the opposite of what Klaus wits was saying. He said war is policy by other means, but this is turning politics into all out warfare. It's essentially treating the legal profession, which is always taken the view that listen, people do have the right to a lawyer, a lawyer is an advocate. A lawyer should not be confused necessarily with the cause of the client. The client wants you to defend, hey, listen, I've been accused of burglary. I want you to defend me. That doesn't make the lawyer into a burglar. Hey, I want to challenge the election results. I want you to represent me. The lawyer is an advocate. That's the lawyer's role. And that's the legal system. That's the rule of law in this country. So going after Trump lawyers for arguing on behalf of their client, this is a gross violation of a basic principle. This is going beyond the politics of left and right. This is essentially saying, we don't even want rule of law in this country. We want to penalize the lawyers for the cases that they've identified with. And this is the project that's being led by this sleazy David Brock, who actually is very explicit about its goals. He basically says, we're trying to shame these people. And by the way, if they belong to big firms, we probably can get them, but he goes to small firms. We can ruin their life. We can ruin their reputation. I think the little fish are probably more vulnerable to what we're doing. You're threatening their livelihoods and you know they've got reputations in their community. So think of the shamelessness of this of this character, David Brock. By the way, a guy I knew before, he was he pivoted left largely on the basis of his nocturnal pursuits. Now, Alan Dorsey, which is outraged by what the project 65 is doing. And he says he's actually going to use his legal influence and potentially his own representation to support these

"Down three yards down the field so that defense is in conflict so it makes it hard on a defense you know what's not hard lining up and showing them what you're going to do so they tee off on you next question number three. Is there a next. Do we have to do a third question. Oh i've done anything else seriously. That is well. I've known you now since two thousand nine. I don't think i've ever heard you probably heard you. That worked up. I won't say i've a lot more money though. I have between the. But i've never had tap but not about the huskies and honestly i'm trying to take down the sarcasm level seriously because generally my feeling is you do make excuses for them. You're willing to excuse a lot of what happens there. Because i get it. I can give you grief about it. But i understand why you're a modern you love them and that's fine you're fan but you're you're you don't sound like the brock cured. I know today gotten to you. Oh it was frustrating. And what i've seen it was michigan went. There said it was unbelievable. One hundred eight thousand people in that place. Really wanna go there. That's a bucket list. One hundred eight thousand people singing inside didn't even show because you have to be so careful. Espn with the music and the trademarks. And they don't even show all the singing. That goes on in between quarters in series with. It's like a concert. And they all got the pompoms and the in the history. And they're great fans multi generational fan. I gotta tell you man. I'm sorry as i listened to you. Talk and i don't have much of an opinion on this myself but as i listened to you talk a day after clay helton got fired one game into two games into the season. I don't know how jimmy likes possibly survive. What you just said. well i. i'm not. I know you're not i'm not saying you are. I'm not saying that he should be fired. I don't know enough about it to even come close to making that call but listening to you talk like that. And just the the i know how measured you are honestly how optimistic you generally are about the huskies. You haven't talked to like that since since like yes. The owen twelve. Talk talk that one. Yeah well it is schematically just very tough to watch. And the recruiting tough to. They've lost through with atrocious. It yes he'd do both of those things bad scheme and bad recruit and by the way it wasn't twenty five years ago or thirty years ago it may have been. You won a national championship. Mike you were there. when they played alabama. They weren't manhandled. They weren't embarrassed completely. There was big pick right before halftime the brown throw that pick. That could be an interesting game yet. Lead people in your front seven. All those guys are reference played in the nfl. Buddha baker is an all pro in the nfl. Like you had to leap people but you put them in positions for success. And when i watched this the number of dead on arrival that's dead on arrival. That's dead on arrival. That's dead on arrival like you're just running into numbers and then you keep five or six in the box for six to lock you because well you know this is what we do. We limit past plays an explosive plays. That's fine but at some point that quarterbacks gotta be chew at some point. You put eight or nine in the box in dare you to play your strengths. Are you corners. So go ahead. Beat us man to man. We'll put eight or nine around the box but to continue to have a lightboxes. Well it was just me and was it hard to watch over the weekend. Well i'm sorry man. This is fun in general. I'm sorry it ended on such a down note. It started house. generally you know brock is the negative. One day i i'll be interested to see for. There is no question how he knows that. I speak for a lot of husky fans. And i've gotten a bunch of tex in a bunch of emails and just people that are beyond frustrated because that is not. That's not like one bad paul. That's not like one tough situation. That is a holy smokes. Like that's montana the beach you and then that's a good michigan tina's on a great michigan date. That is a very average quarterback. Smothered you say thirty one ten. It wasn't that close so i'm wondering how they're seventeen point favorites this week. They've yet seventeen points in vegas literally seventy. Don't think they know who they're playing. I had never heard of this team either next week. Jimmy lake said there would be change. There will be some changes well. Let's you better start spreading it. You better start having some run. You're gonna change your entire week. Two of the season come on a. Did you watch the first two games. But but you can't tell a good strategy either like it cannot be wholesale change. It cannot be a wholesale change. You're absolutely right. But you know you've got youth that are growing up now in this recruiting world and all they have seen cut like washington for that matter is they have seen the best leave they have seen. Dj we leave to clemson. They've watched price young leave to tuscaloosa. They have watched those powers. The sec from the big ten even from the big twelve pull some of the best talent out of that state so there has been an exodus. I don't think it's easy to live in la. I think the the state of california right now in that place in particular. Where where are you going to live. Wherever i'm going to be a coach in palos days tried to commute hands. It's it's you know that that is a that is not funny place. Live in la. Trust me okay for an entire staff and not just one guy i mean. Yeah chris. Peterson turned down that. Yes yes honestly. I'm not joking. There are because all of those guys know there. They know how long they're gonna be there. They're renting not buying buying in l. A. crazy impossible renting in l. a. not suffer But i do believe that factors in. Oh by the way in your conference You have school thousand miles to the north that has a swoosh for a mascot that is going to be running the show it has a in its committed to it and we'll continue to commit to it and continues to take your kids. I i as we sit here today. I cannot say that that is a top five job. I think it it will attract many. I think there's a bunch of eric. Enemy is a name that continues to get mentioned. You know he's been interviewed a gazillion times for nfl jobs. He has said that that is the one job. He's a southern california guy that he would be attracted to possibly if it came open so that would be a name. Certainly keep an eye on our question number two as we continue. There's an all college football edition. Rob we've done enough. Nfl two for today is all college stuff today. Since i know that's your mind is specifically Well i'll keep this very simple dub offense historically bad because they're playing by my rules from twenty five years ago. The running the sets that iran twenty-five years ago. Why i because they think we can just lineup. And we're bigger and bigger more batter. We're gonna blow you off the ball and they're not doing that physically. Talented on the offensive line. Scott half the offensive line coach. I think deserves a ton of criticism right along with john. Donovan would they go. Nineteen possessions without scoring in college football. You the rules are easy to score in the nfl. Mike do you watch college football. No you don't sorry. That was rhetorical question. I knew the answer to it but if you did you would see that scorns even easier in college football why you may ask well because of the hash marks the amount of space that you can play in why you may ask further because linemen could go three to four yards down. The field in past freaking option plays that everybody runs in college football. D- you run them. No we're just going to line up and blow you off the ball because that's what we did twenty five years ago are you. Are you okay. No it sounds like you're pretty. I mean he's a feel good. Venting feels great. And you didn't even get to the point of this supposed to be good at this if there was a team in the conference. It's supposed to be good at this. It should be you dealt with their personnel. Who let me say this without without actually needling. You legitimately sound embarrass. Oh that's an. Yeah it's legitimately the offense. The first two weeks of the season legitimately embarrassing to the point that arkansas state. I don't care that you're seventeen points favorites. They're gonna score. And by the way you're also calling defense. The defense pass you gave up. Three hundred fifty rushing yards to michigan. You played your safety. Twenty five yards deep for for. What reason do you think that quarterback they went five. Sixteen for forty four yards was a threat. I mean what what what we doing you get vida van great gains in liza qualls. No you don't go. Why are you calling defense. Like in ben kurban like you still do. It is perplexing. It is embarrassing. And yeah i think i speak for a lot of husky nation. That is just beyond angry schematically of what you were doing. Are you down wide receiver. Sure or guys banged up absolutely but you still have enough forces in the staple to to go nineteen possessions without scoring and it is easy to back on the quarterback dylan can't do this can't do that. He has some limitations. But when you're calling scheme from the from the rules of twenty five years ago and you are not taking advantage that story. I told you about an old. Nfl player right with a 401k. In the union reps came to the building like 401k. Do it. We should have one hundred percents participation in 401k's they're putting in two dollars for every dollar you put.

"And troupe river are you done yes okay. Good what you asked him about some of the great locker rooms. You've been in right. No i asked him about the worst lonzo good but it wasn't about the camaraderie. It was about literally physically the worst loss. He had some great hands. He said that basically everybody would agree that buffalo in oakland where the tourists but he gave some surprising like Cowboys new stadium. Tnt top five worst visiting lock. Yeah but his reasons that he has. At and t. service couldn't get there. Yeah he's like cell service terrible which makes no sense because it's in the middle of the plane. There's no reason. Can we get back on track here. Yes but if you had asked him about his best locker rooms and his favourite teammates in in the favourite dynamics in the locker room it is going to probably boil right back down to what that linebacker said from coast carolina. Like you genuinely care about the people you work with right. I mean heck our radio show our first couple years tough tough man. It wasn't i was looking out for your best interest. You weren't looking out for my and we wanted to win. It was all about us. There was not a whole lot of trust. There were not a whole lot of belief is every month there was like. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh this is bad. This is bad this is bad right so you know trust and belief in really caring about the trust thing is enormous brought huge there. There is a book that we read a couple of years ago when i was still doing the management thing Called speed of trust if you ever heard of this program in book. No i won't get into the details but they're they're basically yes. Theory is that business can work much. Better faster smoother and etc only if there is trust amongst the organization that that is. That is the catalyst. That's the engine. That makes everything go and i would say that. It's very true in on any team. I've ever been a certainly basketball. I always felt like. Hey if i give you the ball you're gonna be a black hole or are you going to give it back right like i. Am you going to give it to me. When i'm open. You have to have the trust before you give it up. And i think you certainly in radio with hosts i mean. How many times do you. And i trust that the other person if you interrupt me. There's a reason why. Or if there's a reason why or however that goes we trust each other that it's going to work to to to the advantage of the show. I don't know how you operate without that in like chicken or egg right. At times i think in that conversation as it is a group that just you know genuinely trust one another because he got a bunch of really good people high character people. That's in their dna or to the circumstances and the experiences further build it. It's what decimated cla helton at usc. The game i'm going to call this week. Behind the scenes people have talked to a bunch of warring factions. Right between. Oh cdc db coach all of it. Nope i kind of want to have my turf when there were some struggles. Frankly in enduro bebel gets fired. It's like well you know. Tom cables this. Run game. coordinator. I gotta do this. I gotta have. I run game and bubble's gotta make that work and there's pete and how much trust and continuity is there in that staff multitude america conversations. We could have over the last twenty years with managers and players superstar players. Are they really doing it for for everybody else. It's gonna have this at bad as you're going to do if it within this a bat for what's best for me that's next in the latin and mercy and it'd be looking out for himself and i don't think this team trusts ownership or general managership. I mean i think they showed the moment anything even like small. They were immediately ready to go right after them right I don't think that went away in the last month. That's my guess. So i don't know how much trust there is there yet although i would hope that the results of some of those deals and bringing in custodio and bringing an anderson and bringing back toro i would hope that those things go a long way towards building that trust me. I do think there's a lot of trust within that clubhouse with scott with the players and how they do play for each other i think that's been pretty remarkable and i'm not saying it's the reason they are where they are. They pitched really well. They've been in the right positions arch a lot of other reasons. Why they've done what they've done but i don't think you can ignore it either. I mean like that is a relevant part of how you end up right in the thick of things despite being outscored in the year by fifty plus runs. That's that there's gotta be a reason. And i when there is nothing else explicable you have to turn to the inexplicable and that's where that camaraderie that culture and all of that. I think plays right end over the next few weeks. Brock will start to depending on what happens either. Get really excited about a playoff. Run here or or start talking about how this really got done. What was real. And what wasn't right. I mean how much of this was. Kyle seager probably not going to be back. How much of this matana who may be only has another year here. How much are we really seeing from the kids. And do you believe in them. Some of them are going to be here. Tomorrow is going to be here. I believe in the bat. I've also watched the glove if you think that he's going to go across the diamond replace. Kyle seager immediately be the same level of third basement. I'm not calling him a butcher but he could use a little work with perry hill Mary may make them better. But that's not. Kyle seager over there and the number of runs. The kyle. Seager takes away right. So there's there's some real conversations to be had. I'm not sure the cal. Raleigh can hit the major league level. He might be able to. And it's going take a little longer as a switch hitting catcher especially but. I don't know that we found out this year whether or not cal. Raleigh is a major league hitter. Who's going to add and extend your lineup. We have not found out whether or not jared kalmyk is a major league star. Who's going to deliver hit. Some home runs now. Does have ten home runs in limited playing time as a rookie. Twenty two years old. So there's certainly a lot of the promised in the last week or two. How do you gotta admit celtics. Hit much better. He is looked me much better much better for a week and a half and that same span..

"How turn this program and become a national conversation as they were a year ago and in beep zach wilson and byu had a remarkable remarkable season. Could this year too. And honestly got me thinking. And i know we try to define culture and you and i love that more than anybody else and sometimes it's misplaced in baseball because these are twenty five businessmen doing their job independent contractors yati yada yada but the love that you create an. You told me the story earlier this week about joe smelling on. I talk enough about this. I did probably too much of the show on on wednesday. But i i. I'm really struck by this. And if you didn't hear that i'll tell you a story quickly because it. The contrast the juxtaposition to sean figgins a few years ago is so fresh in my mind. Even though it's been a decade. Since that happened i mean the game on tuesday night second loss to the red sox right or the second game the the loss of the red sox they scott made. What i think was probably a bad decision right. He decided it was one of the worst. He's made this year. He's really been good at this stuff this year. But i'll second guessing. He decides to stick with joe smith going into the eighth rather than just giving the ball to second rider To face bogart's maybe there was some numbers or whatever it was that showed them that. Smith would be better against bogart. Didn't work. he hits the triple or you know. That haniger could've maybe not exactly like gold. Glover overplay overran that a little hit miss not a. He's not a gold glover. He's a hit and miss cold stare. Catch a lot of stuff and make a lot of throws but sometimes you just get spun in a circle. Okay well we can all have different opinions on this. I'm going to say he's not a gold glover. And i'm gonna just leave it there but so it doesn't pay off and second rider then comes in gave his all walks some guys at the base you know with the ad bases open but unfortunately just gives up the huge double schwarzer and that's pretty much the end of the game. Find well after the game. Ryan dish daniel kramer the rest of those guys and they talked about this. I want to give them credit. Because that's how. I heard the story. I was i was there. They requested him on zoom. They wanted to talk a second writer about the loss. And joe smith said no. I'm going to go talk to them. You're not going to go talk to them. You having to deal with this. You did your best in an impossible situation to help me. After i screwed it up and gave up a triple. You're not going there going out there. I'm the veteran. I'm thirty seven years old by the way. This is exactly why they brought in joe smith for all the kendall graffman conversation. There was equal conversation that this replaced if not exceeded one grave did in the clubhouse so he jumps in front of the rookie. He takes the bullets. Which is how it is supposed to be you. And i couldn't help but remember sean. Figgins sneaking away to the catacombs upen behind the clubhouse to avoid talking about a lousy game that he had an leaving it to michael saunders. Somebody that to explain it as a rookie. And i just remember thinking god. You're the worst. You're making all this money. You come in here you dump all over the team and say that you don't like being here you play like garbage and you won't take ver- you won't take the hits. Don't take the air on the bullet. Nope this is a compl- like if you're trying to define and this is what scotsman setting out to do what does it mean to be mariner It's hard to define that and it's hard to continue it. And it's even harder when you a kevin thing and players mad jerry dipoto for trading for better players and whatever. It is hard to keep all that together. But i think what scott would say if you were here is what i want it to mean to be. Mariner is obviously to be tough to play against card. And all those things that are important to have a level of accountability. Stand up and do something in in for your teammates just to play for everybody not just with them and i thought joe smith was a great example. I know it was a loss and it was a bad loss. Maybe even a season ending devastating loss. But that was such a positive to me. I couldn't help but be happy about it. Genuinely care about your teammate. You chat with hasselback right. The you have him. I i listened to hasselbeck. All you do is throw it like three questions. And he's got stories for days. It's best and easiest our of radio. I've ever done in my entire career working with quarter. I mean What did you say former seahawks quarterback. I would rather talk talk to jake. I've talked to trent. I've talked now. I've talked to kibera. i've talked zoran. Yeah a lot of seahawks quarterback and working with matt is a privilege.

"On game day with football being back you can kick off a winning season names barbecue. Who you want to talk about. The menu highlights the barbecue fees go. Let's go we go. this is what i like. Let's start it off right full slab twelve bones of the saint louis style spirit. That's my jam right there. Twelve twelve nothing. No twelve months. Twelve bone loose. Bears whole country roasted chicken. half-pound either texas beef brisket. Here we go or the twits park georgia chopped for. You're gonna go creamy coleslaw famous fries. Wilbur beat wilbur beans silver being over. What are wilbur pigs. Sweet corn corn bread off ate the whole thing is only seventy nine ninety nine family style for four to six people. Oh yeah appetizers from the burnt ends. Who's it burnt me. Oh sorry. I knew somebody who was a burnden guy. Love southside rib tips wings onion strings. This is ridiculous. We have to stop talking. I'm hunger one two and three meet combo platter salads sandwiches burgers dessert. I'm done. I can't keep talking about it. I think you get the idea. I think everyone understands when we're talking about feasting that we're talking about famous dave's barbecue on game day you can order online. Go to famous dave's dot com. Well it's kind of a funky one to talk about brock because by the time this we're recording. It's almost noon. Mariner started one by the time. This comes out. The mariners season is either over or like right in the thick of. Oh my god. They're right back into this thing. I know that's an exaggeration. But it's not that big of an exaggerated gift seventeen games to go. You gotta be awesome today. And i'm sorry that we have to have this conversation not knowing what's going to happen this game. Because it it legitimately dictates how the rest of the season goes obviously. It's not the official must win kenya. Lose this game and sweep your next. Of course. I mean there's always another pathway until there isn't one but it sure feels like this one. You gotta win. We're down to seventeen games to go including the matinee. That's been played this afternoon by the time this goes to goes live on wednesday nights just seventeen games to go and in my mind. You've gotta go. Twelve and five in. My mind is hot as the blue jays are with the yankees and red sox. Those those lineups. Mike that i still look ridiculous in partly to scratch my head. Like how in the world are the mariners. Here how are they doing this and competing to the end. I think you've got to win. I think you've got to win the game. You probably do but you also see the answer to some of that question when you play these teams right like yes. It's brewing perfect. They're far from perfect or and see the error that schwab or makes in game one. You see the error that was verdoux. Go or no. Hunter renfro made in right field in game two that open the doors and unfortunately they didn't capitalize you see some of the guys who come in and pitch in the late innings and they're not nearly as good as what the mariners are throwing at you. They're you're right. It's brutal when you're like. Oh my god here. We go right back through the order. You gotta deal with bogart's and you gotta deal with dever's and you gotta deal with jd martinez again and you see how deep the teams are. And that's just the red sox you could have done that with the blue jays of the answer. I mean like when you come back through the hearts of their order apologies to the mariners but it is a lot different than when you're seeing haniger france and seger. They're just say better parts of the order there. Deeper the bottoms of the order or better but the bullpens are not close. The mariners have pitched very well. They've played excellent defense. They don't make those kinds of mistakes in general and so you can. You can see some of those differences. Do show up over the course of a series they do and they've shown up over the course of one hundred for sure almost fifty games and yeah. I do not have the ceiling. Those teams do right. When you watch vlad guerrero junior guys like russia's correct. I mean just just you see them. All denver hit in game one of the series. Do your lord tattooed. Now kyle can hit amount as thirty years career high in the and obviously haniger. What three three nights with a homegrown. And and you've certain. France is more than a professional hitter is by far the best hitter on this team most consistent over the course of the season but as far as star power as far as sealing. Total is nine day but at the same time like you've elevated your floor like some of those holes in their floor that get exposed and you know credit and kudos to to skip and to jerry dipoto and for you know just just knowing who they are knowing what they are knowing what they're not and you know it's it's a little bit different. It's not football where you can necessarily game plan scheme your way to protect your luggage things you can't do but you know there's just a bunch of guys that are that body in the do believe in one another and because of mike i think of elevated that florida. The point that they're still in this conversation with seventeen ago. Do we not talk enough about the fact that there are two professional athletes in two different sports named hunter renfro. We should be talking about that rate now. They spell it slightly differently. One is f. r. e. in the other f. r. o. w. Well monday night. I'm flipping back watching hunter rent duty. It was it was mind blah. Told heather sean. She not believe one's a wide receiver for vegas. Yeah there's an l fielder. I remember him. He played it He played a clemson right. I remember that winning touchdown. I remember i remember it because i was like wait. Doesn't that guy play for the padres. Blew me away then and it still shocks me. Saint joe smith right exactly. There's a lot of jewish renfro from the padres. Is he a southern boy. I don't know georgia guy. It's probably yeah. I mean that's where the hunter is little whole thing. That's remarkable and. I've always marveled over the evan and ava longoria thing. That's remarkable and bizarre but this is insane. There's two hundred that are both professional athletes at the same time playing on. They were playing at the same time on monday night. The football player seems have better hands. Yes say stuff we've seen. Yeah he made a big play in that game. Help them win the game. And then meanwhile hunter renfro thirty home runs or whatever. So that fly ball legitimately blew me away the the case and has for few years now but i agree with what you said. Brock it is it is it is. It is at times remarkable. The the mariners are where they are. It's a testament to scott service. Who absolutely should be the manager of the year. The more i watched the more. I'm convinced of that The strings pulled the way he's managed this team the clubhouse culture just all of it i think has just been really phenomenal. But they're not as good. I don't know how else to say it. They don't have as much talent and yet they're right there with them so we a little chat this week with a with a to cleared. You notice shots you ever heard of a shunt clear. I wasn't only in one context. Sean to clear do you know. Do you know whose mascot in college football is the shot declares that would be lafayette. Close choice that the cajun's from louisiana the coastal carolina shanta clears number sixteen in the country last year in amazing season two. What is clear shots. Clear is the angriest toughest barnyard animal there is. It's a bird. You don't mess with nasty. Yeah you would not like the talents. On the sean to cleric kyle at all okay but we were chatting with one of their linebackers. Strong mullet game hilarious kid and it was so fun talking to him. He's like i. I fear for like life after college football. Because what i have here i don't know ever find in a business setting or any other venue because just like the genuine love that we have for one another and further the belief that we have and one another..

"That have been scandal. Don't they don't have any good players on it. But i think they're running. Backs are pretty good. Pretty good bounding. Max fine tackle. Jonathan was not good broncos. not he's not one of the super elite completely changed the game. He's not derrick. Henry is a good running back and that's fine. They're wide receivers are nobody's nobody's nobody's i mean nobody. In that wide receiving group is going to threat you in carson. Wentz might stink so as much as i come in and you feasted on a bad left tackle right. They're starting tackle was out in twice. Pressure came from but yeah two two of the sacks both came right. they're getting other starting off environment to to starting off and quinton. Nelson's not where he's supposed to be. I mean he's been injured right. He had a couple of different injuries and then they hit the banged up center. Banged up camp. But the big thing was they were missing their left taco and we know what life is like when no left tackle. And every place downey marco jones. Yes yes jay jay jet plane and the play clock ticking down seemingly on every play. They're trying to kill everything trying to get to the right play because they don't have personnel. That can just lineup in run by scare people and carson wentz up like two practices. Yes and he barely practiced so. There's a lot of sort of anti colts sentiment for me. Anyway i understand that but take all of that out for him because you can only play who you've played. It's not their fault that the colts have some guy named paris. I mean that's that's who they played against pierce campbell. Ever whatever i i mean i hussain earlier in the week. I watched the game. I still don't know who plays for the colts None of like. There's a guy named alex. I but i thought you said you're watching a lot of ohio. State games should know paris campbell. Should i been watching him now. They've got christine seen much yet. But i think he well that receiving crew may be the best in the history of cultural really good. That other guess is awesome. I guarantee you this you could put crystal ave and the rest of crew that their top three receivers. You can put them on the colts and they would have been a big threat. There's no doubt in my mind a bigger threat than what the i totally agree with that. But you you play who you played and the one thing i will say about them is. I thought they looked fast. And that's something that we've been sort of wondering about. I thought they were too real positives from the seahawks defense one. They looked fast. Their linebackers. Fast daryl taylor was fast regime. Green played fast. I mean i second. He changed his name to regime green now. That was all kenny. Albert fixed yet. They did jonathan vilma correct. Second like dang did we miss this off season. Everyone's changing numbers. You thought regime. Just drop the s right right clayton defense and tried to push them to redeem for many years. We've thought that effort had fallen flat but apparently kenny. Albert's picking yeah. He's carrying the torch there but look they the two things they do all thought they were fast. Brock and i thought that their rotation in rushing the passer was the best. It's been in a while. Clearly april said that this is the deepest pass rushing group if machine green is actually the next beneficiary of the of the teaching program that pete has that developmental program and this is who we could be. Well you've got a bunch of dudes that are nfl. Caliber rushing the passer. Now yes what did i hear that. He is younger than than and stone foresight. Yes to two of the three rows as well. How nice was it to see those guys. Not having to play eighty percent of the the what would come in where tan eljay call. You got left back home in seattle. How deep they are that. Good news mayo. Wearing ten sucks. Let me know that rate. That does not work numerology. Jake locker outtakes not work. It's doesn't i can handle can handle dunlap eight. Yep that's fine. i mean i. i wouldn't do it myself. Obviously but i understand where he's coming from. I can see a hand doesn't work does intimate should be shamed. Gerald taylor look better and fifty two than i thought. He was a linebacker man. Well yeah dirt sometimes. But he's playing a strong sideline rubber pellets pre. I didn't awesome to see the amount of rotation with monet. And puna and al woods and kerry hyder and benson mayo and daryl taylor and carlos dunlap in seventeen game season imperative. It was important in twelve and thirteen and fourteen. It is it is even more so that is another especially this division where every game is going to matter november and december in those guys playing less reps huge huge upside. Yeah are you buying green. Brahima received stop. You're gonna get wrong. Are you buying regime green. No not totally yet. And i know pitas and they moved into new position and let them live in one spot and and they cross trained him and he was in some spots. No i've got to see it again. He feasted on a really bad left tackle. And they're going to get a lot better. And taylor luanne is a lot better this week in fact and in your division everything else so i got to see it a little bit more but a huge positive first. Step speaking feasting brock. How about famous dave's barbecue on game day. That's a that's that's when we start talking about legitimate feasting the georgia pork again. The passion the passion for barbecue behind everything they do. They create that classic q. Goodness they source high quality meats and trim them up like they're in a competition the pitmasters keeping the hickory log smoldering in the smokers all day. The han rub of the meets the proprietary blend of spices. low cooking. everything to perfection right. That's why you've won more than seven hundred awards and why famous dave's is the authority and the barbecue..

"They put decay in position to succeed. They put lock it in position to succeed. The same with the tight ends and you saw the d'isly stiff and gerald ever doing his thing and would have done even more if it weren't for a penalty that was called early. So yeah i know by the way. Most importantly and i know russell took some shots. I said that you monday. That was probably. My only thing was like who i cringe. Three or four times. 'cause he's still still took some some unblocked rusher so be it and communication or whatever but by and large line function even with two different jenner. I didn't. I didn't get the sense that that was their strength in that game. Now maybe there's some of that has to do with who they were playing. And i guess we'll find out but if if you're going to be in this division based on what we saw from chandler jones and jj watt based on. What we've seen from. Aaron donald gnat crew nick bosa and his crew. That offensive line is going to see something better than what they saw in india. I think yes. I think that is going to be up for that challenge. You know by the way. The division was phenomenal phenomenal. All four teams phenomenal at double digit. And i know the lions came back about got a bunch of garbage junk points and yards and everything else both all four teams were up fifteen plus points they were all non-competitive with the correct right to the. Nfl doesn't happen now. That does that every game supposed to be one. Possession rams blew the doors off. The bears seahawks largely the doors off the colon. They might have played four bad teams. I don't know mean we're gonna find some of that out and might have been those weird fluke week one things but yeah i mean i have my own power rankings. Are they four of the five best teams in the league after one week. I'm the only other one i would put up. There still is tampa. I thought they looked better than kansas city. All four of them did. Yeah so yeah no that that will be interesting to see and the offensive line obviously is still going to be that focal point where ross went in the off season. And hey we this needs to be better but by and large russell was okay. They got hit. You got hit a few times. But how much does that balanced off brock. By what you said the gimmes that he had the romans and it just a little bit so yeah a couple things. I remember clearly coming going onto the airplane. And i think it was after the jets playoff loss in. Oh two with peyton and remember walking up the plane. He's like man it just hard it just. This used to be easy right it. Just they used to be easy. Completions easy checks. It just feels like everything is just arduous. Everything is hard. And you know they had some off-season conversation tweak things a little bit going into the next year where he was in three absolutely phenomenal and i can think of probably the number of times russell and jake that russell and shoddy russell and the in his in his team around him and russell just like man this is and frankly what he said. Dan patrick i think some of that coming off the super bowl and watching you know tom brady be able to just win. A seven super bowl without having to be superman and be superhuman. Be big and big moments. No question about it. One road games is a wildcard. Get to the super bowl and all of that. But you know when you can take a superstar talent. An elite talent. Like liz heck aaron rodgers last year. The mvp of this league. And you just give him a punch of just plays over. I don't know call it. Sixty plays in a game. Mike and if thirty of them gosh i can just i can function in basically any. Qb in this league can function within. Like yeah this is. This isn't hard. Like i got this this piece cake. This is a pop quiz. And i know every answer and then make a couple of those russell place. Throw the tear drops along right. Throw the bomb later law. How many elite elite plays did russell have to make in that game How many of those like whoa. The wizard was out. That i i would argue. Didn't make any the teardrop to i would say zero wizardry. That's a great play. He made there were three plays that russell maiden game that stood out the two passes to lock it and i thought his first scramble. Something that not everybody does what i loved about is that he didn't go backwards or spin around. He went off into the right ran. Used a speed slid whatever it was. I thought that was a you know there are other players. Obviously who do that. Keiler maury does that a lot of the other faster quarterbacks. Maybe even guys like aaron rodgers. Who can who can still move a little bit. So that was a play that not everybody makes. Yeah and i thought that yeah those two throws to log it. I know he throws a beautiful d. Pass and see the. I don't know how many i mean. What percentage of quarterbacks hit that one not high no host this fifty nine yards through fifth in the yards in the air when it left his hand on the overall completion in the air. It's a fifty nine yard pass right there to a garbage. Can you put a garbage. Can they do that. Drill coaches all. Try to throw the ball and put a garbage. Can you football fans out there. Going to football field. Put it fifty nine yards away from you and then you know. He stepped up a good protection but it was still a long developing play. Step up you had rush around him and he dropped it in the bucket. Fifty nine yards away the other one..

"Is not what. That's a different thing than what i just said. It's not a different thing. It's a different window to look in the same house. Oh it's not. This is an organization that got in trouble for practicing too hard. The jokes on the joke is on. You're now you're in the pulse or you're in the cauldron of you're in the cooking the russell cooking you're trying in the oil. I don't wanna be in the class. You are now actually into pot being cook. You know what the best part of my new for our show is how does not there. It's awesome anybody yells at me like that and like berates me and twist my words around and puts me into cauldrons. It's colder and free. It's really nice pretty. Sure the picot himself. Sunday after the game that he said well cook cook said that on purpose and you wrote that script on thursday delivered the joke and it was like what did i just say that jaw. You just said the same thing. Without saying i don't think i did know the let ross cook. Stop it all speak for me. I'll have you know little boy. Howdy does not get the talk for me. Cook- cooking idea is. Hey make sure you throw the ball eighty percent of the time like the fancy rams do or the you know the great show on and they're not doing that. They ran up more than they threw it completed. The circle of toughness russ was was exactly. What what twenty three times eighteen to twenty three. I think what they did do legitimately. I understand your point. I do think that there is a an important even if it's a subtle difference because they didn't just win the ball all over the place they didn't turn this into the run and shoot or whatever the heck the cooking people want. I think what they did was they. They balanced things but with a more modern creative approach to the passing game brock. You mentioned the gimmes. And i want to talk more about those scheme was clearly better and more creative and understood how to get guys open and i thought that stuff was important and missing. It's not like. I was sitting here saying that brian schottenheimer needed to be kept around. I mean all right move on. I didn't think he was all that special. What i do seem to think now. Though and i was talking about it today on wednesday is that this does feel like a new phase in russell's career that if phase one was his legs he could throw the ball. Obviously russell always had the skills but if phase one was will this guy's got legs and he can run the read option. He can write escape. And all those things phase two was the arm and we started to see the arm under brian schottenheimer and all the things russell could do with his arm talent and his accuracy. It seems to me like phase three is going to be the head and that russell is able now at this stage and may have been able all the time. I don't know but for whatever reason the offense didn't seem to allow it because they couldn't get up to the line of scrimmage until there's three seconds left russell now has the time the ability the mentality and the offensive creativity along with shane. Waldron if this is the way it looked in game one to get into phase three where. He's not only fast although he's losing some of that obviously you look good. But he's not. They're not running read option and all of that better than two years ago. He's thinner quite frankly just looks like he's just flat state in fact yes. This is me talking about his body. He is thinner than he was two years ago and he seems to be. That seems to help but he's not running as much. The arm is there and now you're adding in his head to me. That's the real evolution here. I think the biggest thing from a pure perspective a football analyst of. I'm calling that game. If i'm documenting the seahawks this season. I think the biggest component and i and i don't disagree with anything that you just said but in listening back this off season to decay in listening to tyler right and listen. Those guys said sheesh you know. There's a little bit more to this. Because i think for the first time and again this may be a gross overreaction after just sixty minutes of really clean ball but i think for the first time a football analyst says man that was some complimentary football and i'm not talking circle of trust circle of circle of you know local defense special teams regina kind any of that i'm talking about complementary that run is complemented by screen that's complemented by plane extra pass it's complemented with a drop. It is tied together like it has a plan and it's tied together. You've heard pete reference at a number of different times the conviction of our bbn guy in the conviction that he has. And when you think about mike shanahan onto and a hand and then the tree off of it with the and certainly mcveigh because they did the same thing sunday night by the way big shots down the field. Excellent running game matthew staff or comfortable confident playing great football. But it's when you you kind of bind all of those ingredients together. We make it hard on a defense case in point columbus ohio saturday morning but watch quite a bit of it. I will try to watch the ohio state games. They want to see. Geez kit well if you watch that. And i saw my little brother luc on the field at in denver. Colorado game am luke chatting on the field before the game was like some of that in hopes of seeing luke. Well if you watched in throw the ball at although no in the first half you saw a lot of luke on the sidelines so we can have that conversation off the but anyhow before the game looks like man joe more head. Oregon guy does such a phenomenal job of putting that defense and conflict and he's not like overly exotic it's not any new scheme like totally revolutionary. But he just binds everything together and it puts a defense in total state of conflict so even ohio states four and five star athletes are flat-footed for a second or custer's that run. Is that screens pass. And you saw in the cj verdel gone hundred seventy yards later. Right is this. Is this a run screaming. Were the screens open to the titans weren't open in the past with the seahawks. Well it's because that defense on the other side a defense that indie group was number two rush defense in the league last year. Right you put them in a bind as this run as a screen as play pass is gonna be a shot and i just thought they honestly i thought they complemented and elements of the offense together in ways that a of people have been clamoring for it. Felt like look. They've got some really talented skill position players on this team and it seemed like shane waldron understood how to get them in spin positions to take to get the best out of them he put chris carson in a position to run downhill. I love the. I play game downhill. Toss sweep right. Give chris carson the ball. I think that was the first play the game they they. They tossed it to them. And when you get chris carson in that spot where he can turn the corner and run downhill it. You don't think he's really effective..

"A lot. It happens a ton specifically with that team in that city. So if this were gonna happen brock it were. It was going to happen with the mets. But i don't think this is just the mets or their fans. The mets are an easy target. And they're a catalyst for this obviously and the fact that the owner cohen opened the door with his public criticism of the team. I think is unique to them. Also the mets are a tabloid team. That's kind of what they are. They're always to get the attention in town. That cares much more about the yankees and other things so they're constantly looking for attention and cohen is looking for attention and all of that so this is in some ways. Like a logical. Oh no because there's no maybe now second fiddle. Yeah but maybe now but for years. The clippers were a national joke. It's hard for me to ever get over that. And that's on a national joke ever the same way i mean they've they've lost one a couple of championships and they've been in the in the finals and like they're generally. They're good a lot but there. There's something inherently wrong with them and they're and essentially new york. It's that they're not the yankees. That's what's wrong with them. They're just not the yankees and because they're in queens and like they've lost over fans jets and met yes yes tons of cross jet sauce over nets mets islanders. Yes yup yankees. Giants rangers knicks. Yep exactly that's generally kind of manhattan or means long. Yeah and you see opposite. I mean there's opposites but people have a mixed but that's generally. I would say kind of what you get in new york so here. Here's what i texted dave's dude. I need your opinion on love. It was yeah. That's what i figured he said. I hope it escalates. We deserve. I want the whole team in the dugout with paper bags over their head. Like jeff fan.

"We mentioned some of the issues that at linebacker. And daryl taylor trying to make that transition and bender and gets injured depth wise. You know k. Jay writes still out. There is now the make it more likely that could occur. Well with the acl and and bend loss for the season. Now i think this is you know k. J. looking at a couple opportunities. He made a visit to gus. Bradley in vegas. And those raiders and a similar system. And i think by all accounts came back and said yeah. We'd like to have you but it's going to be a minimum deal without a loan guarantees. And i think cage as looked at this and watch david clowney. Last offseason play chicken with the market and cloudy went on went on side one side and then eventually got some some pretty good dole from the titans. Some pretty significant guaranteed millions of dollars and k j is more than likely had some minimum offers on the table beaten seattle or vegas or others and he said man who was the top hundred player in this league is one of the most productive seasons of my nfl career. Last year i transitioned in. Showed you position flexibility and was able to place strong exciting weeks. I'm not playing for the minimum. Get out of here. I think he's played a little chicken with the market and kind of stared at each other. And now with ben precursors injury. I think that need has grown and more than likely there could be a few more bucks come mckay. Jay writes way here in seattle. So yes yeah. If you're asking me once again. Mike and reference menefee said this is a roster that depth wise. What what have you learned about their system. Nothing nothing what have you learned about their depth. It's not what it used to be. So whether it's gino. Atkins whether that's k j right whether it's scaring the wire with some other people forty five to fifty three on the roster. I think there's gonna be some movement over the next couple of weeks and yeah the means and other million bucks or a few more incentives for caja right to get in here. I think at this stage. You gotta make that move. I question number three torn. I wanna ask you about schneider. But i wanna ask you about this alliance here in college football what what is going on with the. What's the big ten. The pac. Twelve in the sec. They're forming an alliance brock. Yes can you explain this. No okay no because there's a lot yet to be explained there's going to be a few more details out. This refused me a question on blu eighty eight until i know well if you want me to just talk out of my yeah yes my other windpipe. I do that but frankly there's still not a ton of detail. This week the presidents and chancellors and commissioners are going to make it a little bit more known. But i think they are still very much in the. How how can we play a little power game here. Back with the sec. That's dominating three conferences together have enough power to rival. The acc the sec. They've got some juice if they want to exclude the sec from any scheduling and say okay. You know what. I think that there is enough. Marquee matchups within those conferences. I think clemson is good enough. How states good enough. The michigan bryant is good. Enough penn state brand pretty good. You know if usc in oregon washington can do anything to like. Florida florida's state wouldn't happen those types of the power play would be. We're going to create a national thing and you guys will be able to compete for a national championship is a won't exist. You have to. We'll just say we won the national championship. wanna make. that'd be great all in on that right. that will be the this during cultivable. Yeah that i think is a far cry from happening..

"Figured that that trade at the very least was gonna cost them. The one game. They played against the astros that night. Well sure that it will definitely cost you one loss you at least have one to make up for all this stuff. It's true but god. I really you know watching toro. And seeing what he's going to be capable of it just i don't know that game the final win in in houston brock. After the after the two loss. I mean they got smoked in two games right noncompetitive and then you come back and you get the late inning win. Graffman didn't give up the he didn't blow the save but he did give up the run that led to the blown save. And and and you know you're tyler. Anderson pitched really well in that game. If you're jerry. Dipoto joe smith. I pitch well in that game. You're just sitting there. I i would imagine him smiling. you're not. He's rooting against graffman. He's not vindictive. But i am and i'm rooting against graven on his behalf. I had a smile ear that i was projecting onto jerry dipoto. Well there's lots of smiles over there and there's even some daddy motion there's some there's some tat tears going. Well i wouldn't say tears. What i'm with you scott. I know it as i've gotten older forty five. I'm much much more prone much quicker to emotion. It'll just it'll just come up and get you. It'll come up by shot. He looks sixty right. How old is how old scott sixty seattle. he's definitely. aarp right is not sixty six. Oh my pizza. Seventy right pete. Sixty nine seventy is looks. He looks a little older than somewhere in that vicinity. Now can't be that far. He's in his fifties right. Scott is so i and he's raised three kids right so i i think that that you're right about that. And the data energy. This was scott. This was after the texas witness was not even houston. This was just fifty four by the way. Watch you freaking mouths. Sixty six howdy and he just turned fifty four this. He was basically fifty three going into the majority of this season managing aging him. Though right i mean seriously. Joe jokes barscott aside. This wasn't even after the big houston win this after texas right and she was a crazy awful awful way hoya game but an amazing to win the whole thing was right and and by the way that texas team is not very good but they are gritty. I'll give them some credit man they hang around. They hung around yesterday against the red sox like they are hanging around with better teams. And there are some guys in that lineup. I don't want to deal within a couple of years. Starting with dole's garcia. I don't want to deal with him now. But they've got some guys that i think are going to be pretty good. I think they're i think what they're building may turn out okay. If they add some of this was the six to write up six two and then diego shoulder inflammation steel comes in the ninth and yes and gives it up and then franson the great defensive play and they ended up eventually winning this game. Thank god and after the game. Scott little choked up just me personally letting them know product of this. It's a it's a special religious. That's a long day so armee we're gonna to emotional about. I've really loves. I really did. Who's getting a little emotional now. Far be it for me to even make fun of this. Because i hold on hold on hold on second. Let's just let's just clarify please. Yes for an august game for baseball manager. That's not a little emotional. No i mean that's a lot. That's a normal person breaking down into tears like the pounding their fists against the table in agony. Yes i agree with you. But i wanna make fun. I mean brock. You and i've talked about how over at frozen in a booby theater hold on. I've never not crowded frozen. No matter how many times i see the end of frozen i crushed so i've probably seen it. I don't know twenty times. I've cried every time I will cry sometimes. Just hearing leaded go on the radio. I cried in the car yesterday. Dropping haley off. Obviously no i was listening to a story on on on on the radio about a dad that had passed away wasn't at the wedding of his daughter and the dj was sharing this story. And i just some sobbing. Macy looks to me like chicken nuggets in her mouth. Like what's wrong with you grow up over these people. These people aren't even real. This is the correct cartoons animated. You're gonna let this guy gets you like that. You don't even know if he's telling the truth and you just bawling like a baby over. There has written this book to sesame the other. We've been reading. This book series called jake's if anybody has young kids great book series and so we're reading it and like it's not sad at all like ellery just sort of you know. He went through some ups and downs and he triumphed in the end and like did a great job at his talent show. And i'm like desperately try and then trying to read the stupid book. And i'm like oh my gosh like i'm really connected to these characters. She so if that's happening to you and me brock. Yes i think. It is understandable very much so with the amount of of emotional investment that scott has given to this team that they've given back for him to be emotional in that moment and and to get choked up. It's almost surprising that this doesn't happen. More especially in baseball with the with the longevity of it and yet i cannot recall a single moment like this in my life. That's not to say there haven't been maybe after a death in the clubhouse you know after nine eleven sure right like when outside events and tragedy strikes but after an off not even a september win. Not even october an august win over last placed team. Scott has that level of emotion. I think it. I think it's magnificent. I love it. I think it is incredibly telling not just him in the kind of culture that he's built here because i think it does say that but also just what this team has gone through and been through an inexperienced together this year from from kevin matter right through today. It's remarkable okay. So we'll dig into the y. I'll let you think about that for a second..

Hey jerry was wrong. Sorry this really good. And he's gonna play second. He's going to play third and he's working with perry hill and this that and the other right and okay like i was wrong. "I've been to since opening day last night. Brock actually going again ties. I'm going to mariner games in a row. It was awesome in there. Like legitimately so there. Last night was the sort of the first time they had opened it up. To thirty thousand or more people there They have the whole vaccinated section so didn't need to wear masks. Which was great was able to like they. So if you've been vaccinated they go you get the Like a stamp right as your as your walking in. Actually i washed myself. Still have a sam left there. Yeah so i kinda feel like. I've been to be ready for tonight. Cool with a buddy of mine. Who's from out of town. He's a twins fan so we were kind of walking around brought him over and he'd never been to the partial went over to the pen and like know sharon off there's like trance music and like all these girls. They had the bachelorette parties golf sticks or whatever it is you need for that and it was fun. It was honestly grade and and one of the great perks of working here is having really good seats two games and the charter seats. We have our my favorite by far where you sit over by the first bit right behind the camera well the first base line right by dugout. They're the best seats a love watching the game from that angle. You really get such a sense of the size. The speed and kind of what's going on in the doug so i did a few observations. Miguel sano is bigger than you realize. And i know you realize he's big. He's bigger than that. He plays on a team with nelson cruz. He's so much bigger than nelson cruz. Can't take no thank you. i'll smoke you know who else is a really big dude is from out like i didn't realize he was that big watching them on tv. Yeah see him in person like oh man he the two of them almost collided at first base like he would have gotten the worst of the biggest baseball player. He's willing montana big. I think it might be the biggest baseball player. I've ever seen sandoval cena balls fat. But he's short. This is just gigantic. I can't does not look like your rocket. gibraltar over there. You see not moving man. He really he's really gigantic as a human being but the guy who stands out brock. And you probably would guess this. But as i watch the mariners both in the dugout on the field from very close over the course of a game. Which player do you think. Stood out more than any other more than jay crawford. Nope j p crawford unbelievable. But you can't watch without him. And i know you were saying last week and we kind got into whether or not like you know he was worth what you say. Twelve winds five to ten. I think they'd be five games under five hundred or ten games a lot. But i will say like watching him. The energy he plays with the fun factor the joy the conversation. I mean a big. He kind of kicked off the scoring in that game hit a double hustle essentially also hit a single turned it into a double and then scored on a single to kind of get them going on a night where it looked like. Maybe they weren't gonna have that made a couple of really nice plays in the field but then you just kinda watch my key. He missed a he missed the ball in the middle of the plate in popping it up and like you get to actually hear some of the cursing and i just seeing how angry he was about that moment and then we some go into the club into the dugout and then we heard some banging and clanging a moment later. Okay super mad. But then that was an inning. They ended up scoring a bunch of runs and kind of have strung together. Three or four hits. He was the guy right on the top step like a minute. After being super anger wasylyk where he was like super angry and then kind of snapped back into laughing and being happy he was despite being obviously mad enough himself to have smashed something in the dugout. The first guy leading the cheering and the excitement over what was like. I don't know i just i signed him. Yeah if you give him money to other guys it's time to sign him and i would sign him ahead of mccain iger. Well here's more valuable. The mitch haniger. He's the best defensive players far as run saved in this league. He's what you just talked about. He's doing all of this emerging imagine when he has total confidence and belief in himself offensively. Mary's those two things together and if you pay him he knows that i'm i'm the voice of this team. Now that got empowers him that much more pay him. The the only problem with it is that you are getting ready for the greatest shortstop free agent class. Like of all time right lindores now off of it but when you start looking at this class korea and story and easier What's his name What's the guy who's in toronto. Now's point second base and by the way you have you got to coming up as shortstop or second baseman shortstop who may moved third and he's a ways away. He's a ways away. Oh really yeah dan years. He's like seventeen. He's he's really. You got some time on if you pay them. Are you willing to move him to second. Or do you think you have a shot of getting some trevor story for instance serbs or can't play defense thursday stratospheric move their base. Can you sign. can you be. The mariners signed shortstop to third the clout to move him to third base. Erodes situation because you have derek. Gino probably no. You can't and. I think that this is a really like if you sign. Jp crawford are you essentially shutting the door on any of the big name shortstops. That are out there. You could move them to second. But that's sure. Seems like a waste given everything he can as you said he saved more runs than anyone in the game. Playing defense at shortstop. This is where it's hard your hard to be the team that you are the reputation you have because it would be great to be able to sign one of those not the. I don't think trevor stories necessarily the best one in the group but could you sign him to play third base. Like yeah like. I could get kinda into that as a possibility. I don't think you're going to have a realistic shot at seager by has or korea. But i feel like you might have a shot at story. Maybe teams are scared off by the course of course a fact and maybe you could put him at third base. But i think that's a challenge. So i think that's why you have to hold off on signing some of my. Jp crawford who those guys are likely not going anywhere right seager in korea or likely going to stay in their locales. I think they both love it. There would have said that thing for the for mookie betts though a couple of years ago and yet here we are so yeah well. Maybe you're j p crawford and you're the mariners and everything of this offseason and you've done everything right. You are by far the catalyst in the voice of this team. I think you also create some some goodwill in that in that clubhouse mike by by signing him i think you create some goodwill to your fans the the work. We're committed here and we're going to. We're going to spend. And i think if you do it now. You're probably looking at a deal. You're probably buying at a time. Where i think. Jp would probably want want some real money and you're not breaking the bank and having to pay him what you'd have to pay those other guys. Marcus simeon was. The player i was thinking of was are now. He's playing second base. Now i mean that's somebody who might be able to play second or third for you if you go in that direction. He's having a ridiculous. You're going to eat seventy five in toronto. He's been in the al. Wes and had success in oakland for some reason. I wanted to say marco scooter. Oh when i was turning again. But i knew it wasn't happy i was able to hold off. It's not marco scooter. Oats marcus simeon. But i mean there are some other options and brock. If you do want to sign crawford maybe that's a way you can come back and and try to continue to build your your your your infield with a guy like marcus semi-in but i just don't. I'm not sure that there's any value in doing it now..

Marcus simeon jay crawford Three five games five ten Mary toronto Miguel sano Jp Jp crawford Last night Twelve last night ten games two marcus simeon seventeen tonight mitch haniger

"Why did you just try to around two first round picks for me feel free to let me go. You think as well all right. But they're gonna they can't just let him go after giving two first round picks. Jamal has more leverage. Really legitimately i think he has a ton of leverage. I think if they if they don't sign jamal adams. It is an epic embarrassment for the organization who has more leverage like in their history kam chancellor when he was holding outer jamal adams right now jamal adams because of the trade because already anti-death they already said. They admitted tacitly that they are going to pay him. You gave up two first round picks and a player to for this guy where you can do that for two years and see a later. Anybody who's willing to do that should be out of their job. They would old say. Hold on a second we were. We're fine will let you play out your final year your deal. Oh and by the way we'll franchise you and you know you're going to be franchised. Jimmy graham you're gonna be franchised as a safe because not gonna play. Okay then don't play then. Don't make anybody we've seen this. We've seen how this goes. I mean i'm not saying that they won't eventually that the seahawks don't have any leverage whatsoever but ultimately they need to sign them they do and ultimately. Jamal needs to make his money because ultimately jamal can look at what happened. The cam and earl who both held out cam for sixty five days and got nothing and earl for training camp got nothing and he can go. I think he's got more leverage than either of those. I think he does a lot more but he also has not made you know in his mind. The next major major contract. I think that'll be an injury. Changer you bring up the idea. In if i'm here i mean. Is he going to go down. The jimmy graham has done this road on the franchise like what do you mean safety. Not nine half. Sack's judge me on. Kyle wants to over there. I'd nine and a half sacks like we talking about you can't play safety pass defense your death..

jamal adams Jimmy graham Jamal Kyle two years jimmy graham nine and a half sacks earl seahawks jamal nine half both sixty five days two first round picks two first round second kam

"Because last year they were not last year. What ended up you know. Essentially beating them in the playoffs as you said brock defensive line. That wasn't able to do much of anything or force turnovers and an offensive line that was completely manhandled by the rams. So the only real major change. They've made to that offensive line. Other than damian lewis. Getting a year. Older which i think is a good thing is that they brought gave jackson that the same. Shane waldron writing and sort of a different concept. So i hope that gabe jackson and whatever they're changing to their to their system is enough to transform this into a top offensive line. Because i still believe that will be a whole lot. More important than drafting dwayne s courage because of four beats five. I mean the rams could rush three and five because aaron. Donald completes three rush one or two aaron donald leonard floyd alone. You'd be two. That's right and i don't know how we block them. I don't know how many are we gotta chip. Keep guys in and do all of it. So yeah. I don't know if gabes going to have that kind of an impact certainly in in a mandatory minicamp kind of feel very very hard to judge that that's going to be one of the season and just how stout it's one thing daniel jeremiah. Member that tweet video from a couple years ago that you know his scouting and where this league has changed in so many ways that continues to always evolve is. He's like man. You need to have those guards that have significant punch. Because of hewlett aaron donald fletcher cox these guys puncture you from the inside out quickly as those guys can we've watched it. That's where wrestles frustration is is is paramount. And where like. I don't have a chance like okay. Elite pass rusher in the attic could step up. I could step around. i can spin out. I could do all the things i need to do. When aaron donald fletcher cox or these era in my lap real. Yeah before. I can take three steps. I'm dead it's dead on arrival. it's. I'm so glad you bring it up that way. It's why i continue in this kind of leads us to jamal adams conversation. It's why i still get annoyed. And and you know when we used to talk to clayton about this. It would bother me to no end of like well. You can't pay that. He's a safety cam that he's a guard. Well the idea that like everything in this game is so interconnected. Yup guards aren't as valuable as tackles. Okay we'll tell it to aaron donald because eventually smart teams look at it and say your guard stink. you're not paying for guards you're only paying for tackles. So what are we gonna do. We're going to rush the quarterback up the middle instead of off the edge. Well what's the difference like. If you're a quarterback. I get what you just said brock. Sometimes it's almost better to have them coming off the edge and up the middle but the point of why offense offensive tackles. Why did they get to be expensive because defensive ends were so good but it was all about the about pressuring the quarterback if the pressure comes up the middle instead of off the edge. It's still pressure and it's still screws up. Your game plan became art campaign. They're not worth it. Not if all the guards ruining your game then you need to pay for guards. Yes because i believe it was what what are the giants. Call it nascar way back when when they when they beat the unseeded in your new england patriots and they put four pass rushers out there and said all right tackle is pretty good needs holders pretty good and your protects pretty good but can you block these four guards block. These guys justin tuck in passing situations. That answer in that super bowl was no just into hall and justin talk. Michael strahan on. There's another tall guy. Gosh i remember. I'm looking it wasn't vice in newco wasn't could have been. I think it was. It was well done all right. That was the name that i had stuck in my right here. We go good okay. So let's put strain on the right edge of that guard. I know he's better. And and i know. He spends his lifetime beating tackles. But would you like to be the guard right well since they paid three dollars for guard in a gazillion dollars for the tackle lecture jerry dominate. That guy instead. And i don't know i just that whole thing. Sort of frustrates me. If i were jamal adams i'd be pretty frustrated. Right now is that it's personal. Family issue there. Yeah my personal family issue is. You're calling me a safety. I had nine and a half sacks. What safety are you talking about. You want to pay me as a safety. I had nine. I led the team in sacks in like a few games. I totally i you know. I generally am like a kind of get to be a team guy in these things of like. Yes sorry this is sort of the more but in the jamal adams case like this got so much leverage so are you paying them more than bobby paying him more than eighteen million a year. You're not paying him as an elite pass. Rusher it's not what he is. Are you sure not doing that. Pass rush here. He's not doing that down. A down out he gets come on blitzes nine and a half sacks surrey did so so elite is production as a pro. You wanna you wanna play the line now. Tomorrow's we want to do places. You don't lead production. Yes at that position production. But you're not at the alignment no but he had elite production. Wh what is the point of those d. lineman. Why do they get paid. They get paid for getting after the quarterback. He did that. The d. lineman also are good at setting an edge. Okay that's his speciality but he can also run after tight ends down the field. Sure what what title. What d- is doing that. So so you're gonna pay him what you pay twenty one million a d lime you guys over eight wagner. I pay him fifteen like safety. I if you don't have to pay as much as bobby wagner because of the stupidity of the nfl system because the nfl has all like i mean really what it is should be illegal. I mean like they're all conspiring to create these markets. This is if this were baseball. The union would have had an uprising decades ago. Mrs this is you know. There's a big word out there. Like i don't know if. I want to use it or not because once you use it right and everything kinda changes but of kind of seems like it right. Well i'm gonna take one side or the other side of it. Is we have a cap in. This is the structure that that fits in and everybody buy into it yesterday. Do do all thirty two teams. Yes say it's ridiculous. But if i'm the team i'm going to take advantage of it. I'm giving him a few dollars more than buddha baker right you get to set the market. You're the highest paid safety. It's ridiculous because he's not just to safety the league. The league is going to an amorphous system on the back on defense anyway. Sure that's how you beat the spread and the more you see the spread the more you see these amorphous position. Louis kind of defenses. Jamal adams plays all over the field. What do you mean he's a safety. That's a good word by the way. Do you think if i use that word. Anymore fishy more. Yeah what would happen. If i use that in a broadcast how many people would understand that. A lot of head scratching. You're going back to college football very little especially like big twelve college football right. Yeah good luck. I'm sure. Oklahoma grads. Norman could also say position lists. I said both. Oh very good very good. I like it. I might have to write that one down. I'm jamal adams. My argument is i. Don't have a position defensive player and if you're the seahawks you say you're a safety who had zero interceptions somebody passes because you don't do anything. Typical safety does cool. Then.

Michael strahan Shane waldron aaron donald last year Donald Jamal adams aaron nine daniel jeremiah twenty one million jamal adams nine and a half sacks jackson seahawks both two yesterday three dollars fifteen five
