The Birth Of The Greenback
"Stacey next. Jacob Feldstein. Planet money author of money the true story of amid up during a new book. Say I. brought props for us to do the indicator. I say. That's been months. It's been. That guy's been honking hall eight months. I have props came over so I could give you these troughs. Okay. Go ahead and look at them. All right. Okay. So, this is like a really high quality xerox of an old piece of money. THREE DOLLAR BILL RE dollar bill that's really a real thing. There's like a a lady standing next to in like a ball gown standing next to a cow to I chose a cow to pander to you I do love a cow keep going. Okay. The Orange Bank It's orange because this from the orange. Bank and this is a one dollar bill. So Stacey, these are reproductions of real paper money that was printed by private banks in the United States in the eighteen forties and fifties. This is one of the most interesting periods I found in the history of money when I was working on my book, it's this moment when the United States government did not print money, there was in fact, no single national paper currency but if you wanted to. Open Up Stacey's Bank of New York and print your own paper money. You could. I don't know if I would trust that dollar from that. Was a real problem that was a real problem we'll get to that. I. Mean they were just so many different kinds of money at one point the Chicago Tribune counted eight, thousand, three, hundred, and seventy different kinds of paper money in America. This sounds very confusing for everyone involved this indicator from planet money. I'm Stacey Vanik Smith and Jacob. Goldstein can we make eight, thousand, three, hundred and seventy, the indicator? Yes. Today on the show. How can you even have that many kinds of money and also just what does it tell us about money works? Let's just go. Let's just go a block away to get away from the horn. Yeah. So can we should set the scene here Jacob the nineteenth century America lots of is apparently also this was the era when gold and silver were money and Jacob say in the book that the government minted gold and silver coins, but it did not make paper money at that time. The exactly right. So the only paper money in America was printed by all of these different. Private banks people called paper money in fact banknotes, right. So they thought of it as like a piece of paper from a bank and they thought of paper money in particular as like a receipt or a coach ticket as as a thing that you could substitute for gold and silver, and in fact, if you look at at the bills I gave you all have this kind of. Writing like just grab a different one for fun. So we can say what it looks like. Okay. This is the stoning ten bank, a two dollar bill. There's a way. Moby Dick or something Wail Bell we've cow Bill Wail Bill So okay. So now look at the cursive writing see the cursive they're just blowers is stoning to. Two dollars to the bear on demand right and if you look all these different bills are different colors, they have different pictures on them, but they all say that will pay how ever many dollars to the on demand and so the second interest. Yeah it's an Iou because the interesting thing is it's telling you the paper money is not the real money. Right? They're saying we will give you two dollars in gold and silver for this paper money right? So the real money in this world is the underlying gold or silver the paper is just like. The Standard. So this is a time in history when there's not federal bank, there's not a national bank. There's like thousands of of little local banks and I guess all these banks can issue their own money. That's right and it's kind of evolving in this period at the beginning of this ehre the eighteen thirties. If you wanted to open a bank, typically you had to go to your state legislature and get special approval. Basically, they had to pass a special law that would let you open your bank and this was problematic because I was super corrupt essentially. Bank and print money. Then you're gonNA bribe whoever you have to. Say all the knee. All due respect to get them to let you open your bank. Right. So around eighteen forty, a little earlier, this new idea became popular. The new idea was called free banking. And the idea of free banking was anybody who is willing to follow a few basic rules could. Take and start printing money and literally start printing money and you know not surprisingly a lot of people wanted to print money. This is how we get eight thousand different kinds of money. Yes. How do you know if the bill that someone's handing you is real money or if it's literally just a piece of paper from the First Bank of Stacey Vanik Smith which might be real money. I wouldn't. Maybe. Add bribed senator so I love this so there arose in response to this problem these special periodicals Magazines that were privately published called banknote reporters. And what they were was these lists in tiny font of every kind of money. So I actually have a reproduction here another prop from a page. This one was called. Thomson's Bank note. Reporter. K.. So the people who subscribe to this merchants people who need to accept money. So so let's just say I'm running a bar and I got my thompsons bank note reporter and I come in I need a drink who thirsty I'm thirsty. So okay. So the page of the bank note reporter I printed out is for Orange Bank. Okay. Okay. So have that bill right here it is and it's a one dollar bill. So I find Orange Bank here in my Bengal reporter and it says Okay Orange Bank listed different bills and says ones and under wants it describes what the bill is supposed to look like says to horses check. Hey, Cart Jack Blacksmith shop male portrait Jack Girl. Check. So it's at least plausibly real. The reporter also tells me something else that's important and that explains a lot about how many works at this time. Typically would tell me whether I should accept that paper money at full face vowed I can buy my dollar whiskey with this whether you can get your dollar whiskey because remember what we care about is whether I can turn in that paper money for gold or silver, and so if the bank is shaky or even if it's just really far away. You know the reporter might say, just knock five cents off the dollar give Stacey Ninety five cents worth of whiskey instead of a dollar that took a really long time to buy that we ski. It does seem like it would have been absurdly inconvenient right and for a long time when people look back at this period, the basic story of free banking was just that was a horrible idea like that many kinds of money right but. Much, later, like in the nineteen seventies. This generation of economic historians started going back and looking more closely. At the banks and how money works in this period and what they saw when they really went through the numbers was basically like it wasn't that bad Bankston go bus that often people didn't usually lose much money when they used. We're you overall they would lose like a few percent which is. Kind of like what you pay today. So when you take money out of the weird off Brand ATM at. The corner store. which I always do. Yeah, I. Mean. That's basically like the the bartenders giving you ninety cents for your dollar when you do that, right? So. Obviously, we do not have eight thousand different kinds of money now this ended and it ended after the civil war. Yeah was the civil war. So during the civil war, that old American argument of can we have national banks or not came up again and Congress passed a few important banking laws. One of them basically taxed all those thousands of kind of state banknotes out of existence, and then the other one created these new national banks that printed much more reliable, much more uniform paper money. It's interesting because I mean, this was obviously after the civil war was the time when the United States went from like a collection of. To One Country, and it seems like the same thing happened with currency maybe not a coincidence. Your I mean, there is this idea at least in the modern world money is part of what makes a country a country and I think you do see that happening at this moment in the united. States when we go from thousands of kinds of money toward one uniform kind of paper money I'm just sad we lost the cow bills. Because you know Jacob I have a fever and the cure. This story in like a whole bunch of other like believable stories like this are in your new book money. The true story of a made up thing. This episode of the indicator was produced by Nick. Fountain fact check by Britney Cronin, the indicators edited by Patty hearst and is a production

It's felt like the dairy industry been singing swan songs milk sales fell thirteen percent from twenty ten to twenty eighteen according to CNN I one dairy. Then another collapsed under the weight of competition from plant based drinks soy almond, coconut, banana, Oat flax all. Those plants were out to get poor daisy the cow the dairy industry was so freaked out that it launched a pilot lawsuits against makers of those plant based drinks trying to forbid them from using the very word milk. You can't squeeze milk out of another grain they said but for the moment, at least dairy farmers are experiencing a bit of relief with. So many of us eating more meals at home, we're guzzling the white stuff again, it's long been true that milk drinkers tend to drink milk. Not at restaurants. So lockdowns have in fact, helped the dairy business cow's milk sales rose about twelve percent over last year for the twenty weeks ending. July eighteenth CNN reported your kid and mind mindlessly grabbing a swig from the carton added up to four and a half billion dollars in sales this spring, and that has spurred the dairy industry to revive an iconic ad campaign. Remember got milk. Vast company called it one of the most famous ad campaigns in history that campaign was launched in Nineteen ninety-three, its message, whatever you do don't run out of milk over time three hundred celebrities including Britney Spears Dennis Rodman Bill Clinton, and the simpsons all appeared sporting those milk mustaches. The ads became enormously popular by the end of the campaigns run in two thousand, fourteen, ninety percent of all adults were familiar with got milk to Huffington Post Contributor Gene Delvecchio but there was one a little problem. The ads didn't actually work over that same time milk sales declined steadily soda consumption bubbled over guess what those Soda Lovers used to drink you got it delvecchio a former AD industry executive argues the got milk ads were like bringing peace shooters to a gunfight, the gunfight being Pepsi and Coke Monster Marketing Budgets while the to soda makers battled each other milk lost but the dairy industry apparently believes their campaign was effective embracing Estonia the industry's marketing arm milk. PAP has revived the got milk campaign today's ads bear little resemblance to the Owens though. Sure there's still some celebrities Olympic gold medal swimmer Katie decades, viral tiktok video showing her perfectly balanced a glass of milk on her head while swimming a lap. That's certainly a turned heads but the bulk of today's campaign features, regular folks and a ton of user generated content milk drinkers were urged to do silly things with milk and boy did they respond people open gallons of milk with their toes jumped into kiddie pools filled with milk and cereal according to the trade paper? Agra. News will this generation's got milk ads do anything to keep the cow's milk train going if the wildly popular ad campaign of your didn't work well. Be Hard pressed to say that this one is a better peashooter. The dairy industry itself is making predictions. They say they're simply celebrating the quarantine induced sales boost. What is true however is that the competition from those plant based rivals is only getting. Over the same twenty weeks that saw a twelve percent rise in dairy milk sales oat milk sales went through the roof up two, hundred, fifty percent. Of course, oat milk sales are still tiny compared to cow's milk. They totalled only one, hundred, thirty, five, million dollars, but other signs point to the continued aggressive challenge from those gentle plant based alternatives. Oatley the. Leading oat milk maker recently attracted two hundred million dollars in investment funding from blackstone and Oprah it hopes to go public next year according to Forbes, and on Monday good Karma, a maker of flax milk bought itself back from bankrupt dean. Foods investors are Thurston lapping up all of these cream alternatives and no matter how beloved the Got Milk Gad's once were. All this competition puts a whole lot of pressure on twenty twenties version of the same campaign.

Britney Spears' Ex-Husband Wants Her Back
"Events daily pop. Hey remember when Britney Spears married Jason Alexander for just fifty five hours. Well, he wants her back now. Yes. They're right. Jason was spotted at a free privy protests at the courthouse yesterday he told us weekly. He still has love for Britney and he'd quote definitely the open rekindling their romance quote if they would give us an honest chance. Is he serious right now old what is furious? Is this heat in? Los. Angeles put that photo backup with the orange shirts. I can see that under boop sweat real quick. You know how hot it is in this Place look at. That alone. Look better though. Her he looks good. But I just like what is this guy I mean he clearly has nothing going on like the fact that he's GonNa show up even just give us weekly any sort of exclusively come on. This was how many years ago twelve thirty claims that two thousand four was when this fifty five, our wedding are. happened. They were childhood friends they got married very briefly. Now they've been I think in touch a little bit throughout the years I doubt recently my goodness. So the things he had to say about Sam you guys San has to be so livid right now. Right. So he said I got to see this code and he said I don't know him. He looks like he's in good shape but I'm in good shape. So Bravo to him she's got some type of feelings for him I. Guess I'm like Oh, my Gosh San if he ever sees you, he's going to punch you in the face. He's never gonNA. See Him this guy ever not a factor in her life, and this is the problem. What happens is even though he went there with good intentions quote unquote this just makes everything that Brittany's fighting for a spectacle and it makes it joke and if he really loved her and really wanted to be a part of her life and really wanted to help her, he would have stayed away from that camera and not became this headline. One hundred percent, and also for him to be like if they gave us an honest chance, she doesn't want you like I. Don't know who they. Does not she has no interest in rekindling your relationship I. Promise you that I don't know where he gets off thinking. Oh, if they just would just believe in our love like she's not petitioning for you bro at all, she's not looking for you in any day. Ever Gosh tell it like it is mortgage. Ed I love the. If a man sit outside like that for me I would feel some type of way about it in the. Sweat It's always flattering, right? It's always flattering to see. Talk about how he wants you back I. Mean it's Nice to hear whether you care or not of. The protest was held at the courthouse because there was a hearing about getting Brittany's data removed as conservative as we told, you yesterday according to court documents I'm really wants her care manager Jody Montgomery to step in permanently. So Jason has thoughts on that to telling US weekly Britney doesn't want to be under the conservative ship and he wants her to get what she rightly deserves. So how does he? Oh, how does he know he has not been in contact with her is will be. Governed from ghost talking to this man talent him where Britney saying he has no idea and Britney has said exactly what she wants and this for him. This was kind of a bold move because this hearing wasn't about changing anything this hearing was about let's check in. Let's see what's happening. The real hearing will come once they file papers and once she puts in court writings that she wants this change. This guy's making it worse for her get off her bag they offer not it's just. Weird. Do you think the intention because he wants Brittany back or he wants his own fame or he just was truly going there out of love for Brittany, and truly feels that she feels trapped and was trying to be a voice for her? What do you think I can't believe this I can't believe this is our Abe. Block. Are you kidding he therapy for fifteen minutes and it's going to be four because this is the last time we're talking about this. This is insane person. We have not heard one word about this person in sixteen years six I'm too hot over this. Crazy. You'll get the fifty. He'll get the fifty because what will happen is Cara Delevingne will see him on the news noticing that he's getting airtime. So then she'll date him to make Ashley Benson Jealous, and then he'll get twenty minutes. Oh my God. We're bringing car delving into this way. Okay. Well, let's move onto a couple that we've also talked about a couple of times before. New Year. So Tomorrow Laurie Lachlan and her husband Massimo are scheduled to be sitting for their roles in the college admissions gets scandal at the same time. The government's recently filed sentencing memo raises questions about what their daughter Olivia Jade may have known. So here's the new stuff. You guys. So Libya is never mentioned by name in the document, but they're quote. Younger. Daughter is referred to specifically prosecutors say in one incident Laurie Mossy Ma and they're quote younger daughter discussed how to avoid the possibility that a high school counselor would disrupt their scheme. So the family has not spoken out, but a source close to the family says their daughters had nothing to do with this. So if what the prosecutors are saying is true. That Olivia Jay did know about this do you feel she should be punished as well as her parents? Here She did no I just hello even if she knew or did not know she is a child and was a minor at this point in her life. That age you do as your parents tell you to do you follow suit you. You'd even realize the difference between right and wrong I could barely drive through MC. At that point by myself, give me a break. There's no reason that this young girl should be punished for anything like I understand her parents made a mistake we've been talking about it when I was reading the research is warning I was like for over a year literally been talking about this now for over a year and it's dwindled down to two or three months and five months number one. The she was seventeen. Leave her out of it. It's not relevant for her to be involved with the fact that their names are mentioned I get it. They need to be to kind of paint a full picture you do what your parents, how you to do. This is how we're getting into college. Sweetie you go. Okay. Mom just let me know where I need to be et Cetera not true Morgan you do what your parents tell you to do but let's say let's say you've got some awful parents right? Like I'm not saying these people are saying you got some awful parents and they say honey were broke I want you to go steal some milk and some candy bars and some cereal, and you know what? Go ahead and grab that xbox to they won't even suspect you. You're a teenager just go do it. Okay. If they get caught that could go to Juvie or get some sort of legal. Question. So Matt Your question. Your mother. Makes you sign your name on legal documents that puts you as a as the lender on alone and your mother then defaults on it ten years later should be. Held Liable Harris of thousand dollar loan that your mother made you sign for when you're seventeen or would you fight it? Well that's different because you would never have hypothetical situation that happened in. Dollar Loan. Drill, trust. It happens on sweet bitter. I just saw show where it happened. So where do you bring up that example? I agree with Morgan when you're seventeen years old if my mother would have told me sign the papers for this D to my kidney I wouldn't have asked two questions about it because my mother told me. But my problem is. This is the problem my judicial system we're sitting here worried about what a seventeen year old may or may not have known meanwhile Brianna Taylor's killers walking around free and the people who accosted Eliza McLean have not been nothing has been done to them. We know exactly what happened. We've seen the camera footage we've gone through everything. Why are we focusing on this and not focusing on what we do know?

How can I get an ebook cover designed?
"Hey Chris, this is Britney from Madison Alabama and I've been listening to your show for two years. Now, I'm thinking about starting a side hustle. I want to publish my husband's sci-fi short stories and books on kindle direct publishing. My question is where can we get affordable editing and cover design? Do you believe this could be profitable? Thank you for hearing answer. Hey Brittany. Thank you so much for listening in Madison Alabama. I used to live there many years ago. Fun Fact. Now, this is a two part question technically a three part question. So as for the cover design, that part is pretty simple. So book cover design isn't establish subcategory on work for hire sites like fiber and up work I think it's totally fine to go to one of those sites and hire somebody to do the work there, and it will be quite affordable. You can get a good quality design with several revisions for a couple of hundred dollars at most, and they're probably going to be some options to pay a lot less depending on where you hire the person from some agencies working on uproar Cav hundreds of people in overseas locations where the price can be quite low. Now editing is a different matter because with editing I wouldn't just randomly hire someone you should I think about what you're looking for or your husband just thinking about it since he's the writer but maybe in some combination, are you guys looking for a developmental editor that somebody who will read through in suggests structural changes to improve the flow of the book? Are you looking for a copy editor who will go line by line and make lots of picky suggestions which are often helpful. I always have this love hate relationship with my copy editors. Or are you just looking for a proof reader? To catch those Pesky Typos. That you tend to miss or your husband at tends to miss because you've been close to the work for so long that happens to me all the time to. Write eight drafts a book, and then review it over and over and yet there's still some typos that somehow I missed just because I'm seeing the same things over and over. So those editing functions are not the same and most editors tend to specialize in one or the other. There's some others as well, but you want to understand first of all, what you're trying to accomplish I think that's the best advice there and last but not least Brittany also ask if this could be a profitable activity. Now, that is an entirely different question that's something totally different. Short version. There is I don't think this is the quickest road to making money. I, mean. We have had some stories of people doing sci-fi fantasy stuff and have been able to make some money with. But. I'm imagining in this case husband start writing his stories with that as the primary goal. So I tend to think of it as you want if a writer, you want share your work. That's great. Go do it and if it ends up being profitable. Consider that a bonus.
Interview With Skye Pillsbury
"I'm sure it's fine. So without further ado, let's talk a little bit too sky about leaving inside podcasting like she just made the announcement that not only was this her last season but that she would no longer be writing for inside podcasting which I don't know if you guys know this but unlike hot pod and Pod News, Sky Actually works for a company that has asked her to create inside podcasting. It's not her own is not of her own fruition. So what came about that made you decide? No Moss. So I have been percolating in my brain for a few months I had actually talked to inside about it about three months prior and. I feel for I say that I'm super grateful to inside it opens so many doors for me to meet so many interesting people you included and so I loved the experience of writing for them but it did feel after two years like I was I was really pouring my blood sweat and tears into the podcast and the newsletter. It just felt like I was every day that I was working for them and building this thing for them. Felt like a day that I wasn't building something for me it didn't feel that. Way In the beginning but once I, sort of like established myself a little bit I just had this nagging feeling that it was time to do something new and I don't know right now exactly what form that is gonNA take but I will be keeping people posted about that on twitter and there's a few different things I'm craving one could be more ownership over something that I create one could be working with more of a team because it was very much a solo effort and sort of crave like that's why doing this. PODCAST with you guys, it's so fun for me because you're my friends and it's it's you know the sense of community that I haven't really had and you know it would be nice to get paid more. You know no one goes into journalism to make a million dollars. So I had all of that. The other thing which I think is fine for me to share is that Jason who is my boss? He's the founder of inside wanted and had been sort of hammering me for a few months to make eight paid newsletter. He's done that with a lot of the other newsletters that inside produces an I really didn't want to do that I didn't feel that my readers were the kind of years that necessarily that all of them had like extra funds to spend on newsletters that you know is my news are critical to your workday probably not it's. It's a nice fun thing to read but I also didn't want to be writing a newsletter for like the twenty people that pay I mean I don't know how many people it would have been we had. Eighteen thousand subscribers so maybe it would have been more, but the point is that what I WANNA do is to write for a big audience of people who love podcast, and so that was another had staved off for months and I knew that it is certain point I wasn't going to be able to do that anymore. So that was a big reason to for me. To say I think I need to you know it's time for me to strike out on my own I have no, there's no bad blood. There are no hard feelings. Jason is a total work, but in a weird way I, kind of love him too and I definitely am appreciative to the company and everyone that I worked with they're just as your friend. I you've never. Said anything bad about Jason that I can recall. You've always said nothing but nice things about him and it sounds like your dilemma is the dilemma of every entrepreneur whether you knew you were one or not. Eventually we all do that where even if you're already working for yourself like for me as a graphic and web designer I was working I was doing projects hourly. And at first, it was six yards and our, and then I was like wait in three hours only making one hundred, eighty bucks that's ridiculous and then I then you move it up and then you move it up and when you're working for someone else you don't get anywhere near what you would pay as a consultant and you're still like, wow, I spent eight hours there. And I made three hundred dollars and also I, didn't know work that I get to keep crap. You want your own body of work you want your audience and your traffic, and when you're talented, you know you're talented and when you're good even if you're not marketing like you know that you're good at your job and therefore wants to do it on your own behalf. So I totally get that and I think it's a big conversation right now within podcasting is that. Specific to podcasting a lot of people are producing podcasts and not getting the same kind of deals especially particularly, I. Think people of Color. Not Getting the same deals as other people are getting from the companies that they work for you know Britney lose from the nod has been very vocal about that as well as Meka Yousef created tell them. I am these are conversations that are out there happening my situation was different. I was under no illusion that I was going to be able to keep. Anything, but it is that same feeling of like you know it is weird for me. I have to say that they might continue that podcast and they'll be completely different homes and yet it really was like my creation and you know hopefully, it will always be out there but it's time for me to build something for me whether it's writing podcasting even freelancing I don't know it. I want to be more in control of my own destiny as an and I loved the interaction with readers and if I had to make it pay walled that interaction would have really narrowed and you know what I loved about writing. That was just like I had a big audience and people who wanted to engage with the and I. Hope

You start to go down or these people like that love conspiracies and it's fun. Trust me. It's around like what if this is happening Oh. My God I heard that this was happening and it's I get I'm just here to talk to you as being like, it's not real. Either way something crazy came out also always ship. I hope that this gets exposed. Whatever it is, but I can honestly say like I've been around a lot of people that you. Were related this situation. Everyone just Kinda like roles. There is I mean. It's great and love the diverse love to do. All right. I'm so into stuff like this. Where you have to completely different views. I got one more question. Do you have those show are? Is this our last question? Are Yeah Yeah! I mean I could go on, but. Just for feel free to go on. Feel free to go on if you want. But do you think that in any way? The Conservatives ship should be lessened because like it does basically say they could pump in whatever drugs they want, and they can like physically restrain her and all that. Do you think that twelve years after it originated like it could possibly be lessened. She can get more money every every year and all that. I mean of course for Britney Sake if that is the situation of course for her, and because I'm a fan of her I, want her to be happy and I. Hope that she has some freedom but for. A close to forty year old woman, worth millions of dollars for her to be able to be controlled like that. There is a whole team of different doctors at different points that are locking scared to be sued. That are doing the work seeing what's happening like I think that this is all happening, because it needs to happen and I think that it also scares that everyone's fighting about this if it weren't for. The family and the conservative. I don't think that would happening I just I. Really really don't think about Marilyn Monroe. There's a certain type of personality that becomes famous because they could they. Should you know anyone that's ever met Britney? Spears in person says when she looks into your eyes. It's like. She's stunning. She's so full of. She's so sweet and you can see why. She's a star. Just naturally you know but that. That also comes with a price and you look at somebody like Marilyn Monroe. These people who die at a young age you know. It's. A hard life something that we will never understand and she from day one was never comfortable with it, I mean go back on her interview. She aided everyone paying attention to our every move instagram of so bumper. She isn't seen you on. She sits in her house. Does a dance puts down her bone and goes back to whatever she wants. An ink that Britney is seventeen, yet been Britney's seventeen years old in her head, and I think that what all these people are doing. It's really really damaging. You're a true fan. Let the let the police let people let people find out what's really going on, but if you're a true fan, you just need to heart heart heart. Love you Britney. You look amazing hope you're doing well because you're not going to figure it out with a Hashtag. If this was serious, it would have been dealt with a long time ago. She would have gone on her instagram and just literally looked at Cameron been like helped me descend, but your instagram it's. Just like this thing I do get fired up, but I think it's partly because of Corona virus in lockdown. You know we're all in our house. And I think everyone's talking spiraling right now and just look for conspiracies, and it just drives me crazy..

"She's been posting stuff that she's been posting for the last year and a half two year. It's not exactly the same. Obviously, it's different depending on the day, but the same type of content essentially as being posted on social media from that time I think a lot of it has to do with the newfound kind of. kind of refreshment as far as the fans go and encouragement I definitely think that the court Dave. At actually was today had a lot to do with the new kind of resurgence of everything, but I definitely am very grateful to be a large proponent of the new wave of the movement. I do think died down. After around January February. So, what is this? Do Court taking you sort of explained us. What's happening today? Obviously, everyone will be listening to this next week and his birthday present. What would you say? Is Britney present at the court? She is not at the court as she has. It's a remote appearance, so she is being. It is basically livestream to the core it is. They closed court. So there is no media. There's no press. There's no there's no bystanders or anything like that, but basically it's report. Hearing states have conservative reevaluated. And so they're kind of taking her am evaluating her mental state being like okay, so should we continue this contract? Is it necessary or should we dissolve it I do have good word that some very big things are coming, and there is some sort of freedom. That's coming very soon. and. That's all that I can say okay about that, and that's not. That's not following. The court proceedings today. That was information that I received. This morning and last week. So that was giving a little bit of credence to the hosts theory from britney's, Instagram who were talking about this for a while. A shout out to them for really blowing that thing open. But now recently her manager, Larry Rudolph longtime manager says maybe she might be done like performing for a while managers. Yeah. Well, her longtime like Louis Rudolph not the Sam Lucy guy. No, no, no. Like dude who's around like from the beginning. Okay. So he's no longer getting a Britain coin is what he's like one of those people's like, look, I'm always here for you like been there. But like. Active manager seems anti intuitive to be counterintuitive. I think he does on some level based on this quote. He must be involved because this is what he told TMZ. He says, quote as the person who guides her career, based on the information I in all the professionals who work with are being told on need to know basis from what I have gathered. It's clear to me. She should not be going back to do this Vegas residency, not in the near future and possibly never again. He said he claims that or sure he's, I think telling the truth, he said that spears called him, quote everyday last summer excited to tour. And currently she hasn't called him in once she clearly doesn't want to perform now and he said, I don't want her to work again until she's ready physically mentally, impassioned Italy, if that time never comes again. It will never come again. I have no desire or ability to make her work again. I'm only here for her when she wants to work. And if she ever does want to work again. I'm here to tell her if it's a good idea or about idea, so. Wow. I mean and this someone's going on, but not to the point, where from people that I had like any of you see the Vegas residency. Yes. So one thing I heard consistently was people felt that it was Brittany, but she wasn't really the same Britney earliest giving the same type of performance. Did you did you sense that as a fan and I didn't get to see it live? I actually lived in Vegas for about eight months in two thousand seventeen sixteen doing a residency of my own right next door. And I have a lot of friends who dancer Britain, and I would watch all the beats love seeing them, and I love seeing the show, people would I would get people saying, like, oh, she's dialing it in. It wasn't as fantastic. But if you're a Brittany fan you live for the concert into production, but here's my thing, if Brittany never wants to work again. Good for Britney. She gave everybody gave us almost much higher life, y'all. She was a Disney kid. She went from that into being a pop superstar around the world. Britney Spears is legendary name that people know all around the world, and she has kids his too, right? Yeah. Yeah. The two kids, right? And honestly, she's pretty much worked their entire lives. And not to say that women don't work, you know, but like when you're a performer, it's kinda like round. The an Anna pop star in it a celebrity, it's round the clock. And if she wanted to check out moved to Bulgaria and be like, just me and my boys going to do our thing. She is given us. I feel everything that she needed begrudge her any anybody saying, I'm done doing this thing, as she got the checks, and it made forty three million less, and she, yeah, she had to pay a lot to Kevin Lynch. I think they ended up, she had to pay more to k fed when she got the Vegas Saint because she started making more money in he has custody of the children. "And we're all figuring it out now. And the fact that like, obviously, you know, Paris Hilton. But Paris Hilton was very close with Britney Spears at one point. Yeah. Right and Paris Hilton posted free Britney. So I feel like she has some sort of idea of what's going on. Well, there's there's also there's also a connection between this woman. Lou Taylor and Lindsay Lohan because Lindsay she also worked for Lindsay Lohan and Lieutenant tried to get Lindsay Lohan conservative ship. When she was spiraling. Also. And she was the one who went to britney's parents Bazeley saying that this was the best course of action. And I believe it they this could be towed DOJ as my word for this. Because this is one that I'm sure because I'm not an expert on everything. But I think that they make money from this concern ship to so it's all very well. They are in control of her money. Right. And and in two thousand eleven Lindsay Lohan fired Lou Taylor for mismanaging her money. Okay. Yes. Britney Spears was thirty seven years old should have been in charge of her money for quite some time. Now, obviously when she spiraling out of control. It's it's a different story and somebody has to manage your money, but lifetime conservative ship Sienese. Like why it's it's so crazy, obviously, it's not like the act, but my mind starts thinking about the act and how. People really can can control your life and people on the outside. We'll have no idea. Yeah. I think it said there's parts on this thread that show that that there are times that she has talked about the conservative ship and it hasn't. Made the cut in interviews like she did the Jonathan Ross show. And there was people in the crowd who were tweeting that Britney mentioned her conservative ship. However that part never made it to air in the when the interview actually aired, but people in the audience said she had talked about it. And then there was a twenty sixteen interview with Mario Lopez that she joked about having daddy issues and her team censored that out but fans are able to find the original video. Yikes. So and then in two thousand eight. Brittany's co conservator wanted wanted to raise he's he's a lawyer. And he wanted recently asked for pay increase from the singer citing his efforts to keep spears away from drugs and her successful return to the public eye. It's it's so it's crazy. But this also happened because there's a podcast, and this is people are hating that they did this and people are okay that they did this. There's pockets will britney's Graham, and they got like a tip from a paralegal at the firm that works works with Britney or the conservative ship or something. And they and that person claimed that. Let me find it because I have it. Okay. That person claim that the that this is all been her dad that her dad isn't that her dad cancelled the Vegas resident, and he was the one who committed her to the mental health institution because she refused to take the medications that they wanted her to take. And that's that's where things are are getting skewed in the in the in the media because like TMC's now reporting stuff like oh her medication was the problem. It was the wrong cocktail and that caused her to spiral and what made her. Commit herself. And now the doctors are working on fixing the the drugs that she takes and and whatnot. It's just all very sketchy and sad. And you just I really have no idea. I really have no idea. What what to believe? I agree. I feel like the whole thing is is like you said, you don't want to believe because the whole everything reading right now seems like it makes sense like Britney Spears is being controlled and not everything adds up. Right in the Jamie, Lynn spears, like also speaking out and trying it's crazy. But it's so crazy because Britney herself is is not saying anything, and it seems like he's just not allowed..

"And the most frustrating thing about everything hash tag, free Britney is while that person claims there's this person claims that you may be speculating this. I'm Mickey lading that the truth is we don't know what's going on. And that's just sad and frustrating. However, let's take a step back and paint a clear picture Britney has been under this conservative ship now for eleven years should somebody who seemingly is high functioning. So high functioning that she had a Vegas residency. She toured the world twice. Ice should that person be under conservative shift for eleven years. Pause. Then I think well, maybe she wants to be pause. Then I'm reminded. We had no fucking idea what she wants because we haven't heard from her. Well, there's a whole mystery wrapped up in this too. Which makes it kind of fun. The fact that she isn't commenting on any of this, and I can simplify this whole thing with my theory. And it's as simple as this the parents are divorced. There's acrimony there. They probably don't see things the same way, and it probably even trickles into their relationship with their daughter. Now, maybe the mother is a little bit upset with some of the things in some of the ways that the conservative ship has been handled and she likes a couple of comments about it. I think that's the end of it. I don't think it's anything else other than that. She doesn't like the ex husband. They divorced. It's not like she's crap talking him. She's just saying look there are. Are some things that I don't agree with like. And that's it like like she just likes away. So that's what I think it is. But this woman has been around so business now for over her for about thirty years. She's not naive to how things work. She must have known that liking things critical of the conservative will make people believe that what is being said is true. You don't think? So I don't disagree with you. I just don't think she thought that much into it. I think that she read some comments and she's like, yeah. I think this conservative ship is wacky too. I don't like how they're handling things. However, I'm not in charge of it. But she's still my daughter. So I like a comment, you know, I like comments all the time you'd like comments all the time. It doesn't necessarily mean that I agree with things. Sometimes I'm just liking them to say, hey, I see you, and what's complicated is, you know, everybody. I mean britney's dad makes a lot of money being her conservative, and he's also her father. And then it just makes you question. Look. And now he's very sick. And she pulled out of her tour because oh, I forgot why didn't forget that's just one of many other things also alleged in this podcast. People are also going crazy because it's being alleged. So all right. So everything has to do also with britney's medication. And I think both the allegations. And now. What her team has planted out? There have confirms that she stopped taking her medication recently. Then the big question was did she go seek treatment because of that it could be as simple as they stopped working. But the big question the big discrepancy is the allegations and on that podcast from that person were that she was forced to go britney's team is insisting that she chose to go of her own free will. It doesn't matter either way. Let's call it. What it is the girl has some mental issues. I think she did something to her wiring back in the late nineties or early two thousands, whatever she did something to herself back then that can't be unravelled that may require her to be under doctor supervision for the rest of her life. And it could be is easy as that. And at some point, maybe you as the patient, you just get tired of doing it. Well, that's the thing. Here we go. So I had a lot of other thoughts. Britney's dad is not just her financial conservative. He is allowed to make health related decisions for her. If your doctor at a mental health facility, and you determine that person seems pretty okay by me, and that person doesn't want to be here anymore..
