"Podcast on Monday I talked about you know who has the best chance of making that eight spot the eight seating games and you know who is the hardest and easiest schedule. If you missed that MC should go back and check that out. As for this week, an error today's episode I WANNA start out by talking about Lebron James and how he won at the bt awards. He wants sportsman of the year, so I want to start out by discussing that Damian Lillard in Zairean Williamson have been named the two K. Twenty one the NBA two k. twenty-one cover athletes. And talk about that and if they were the the right choices for that that you know achievement for that job, draymond green talked about who has the best odds in his eyes to win the NBA finals, and he's putting the Lakers ahead of the clippers As far as chances to win the finals, so talk about that, and then makes you stick around to the very end of the show I. Did it last week? I'M GONNA. Do it again this week. I'M GONNA. Talk some MJ. Jordan and the Chicago Bulls Little Hypothetical Would they have gone seven for seven after winning that six championship, so make sure you guys stick around to the very end. Don't go anywhere, but like I said I want to start out by talking Lebron. And now he was named the BT sportsman of the year, and if you aren't familiar with sportsman of the year. Basically. It's their version of male athlete of the year. They renamed it several several years ago. but basically what that means is the best male athlete. In the the past year in it went the Brion James. It's actually. Sixth or seventh time I think Lebron has won the award. I think this would might have been his seventh time. He's won it so congrats still Bron. You know he doesn't always win that regular season MVP. Award and it's nice to see him. Get some recognition in some achievements outside of the Jesse NBA awards I. It's good to see all aspects. All different types of awards shows you know. He's getting recognized for his greatness. Props to Lebron. Perhaps the BT words, recognizing the Braun as you know the sportsman of the year or male athlete of the year but who was up against. Let's talk about that so it was Lebron up against a wild Leonard Janas Dante Takubo Odell Beckham. Junior who did not have a very good year at all actually south spicy him even in. In the running at all Patrick Mahomes and Steph Curry. Who basically sat out this entire year? So are they talking about all of twenty, nine, thousand, nine, as well as twenty twenty is just twenty twenty s at you know going back to the two thousand eighteen twenty nineteen season. I I wasn't quite sure. Since we saw oh Dell's name in there and Steph. steph been out this entire year so I was a little confused AC- him in the running like I said the same thing with Odell him, not having a very good year at all his first year in Cleveland so I was a little surprised to see those, too so those are pretty much easy. Easy wins right there when you're talking about you know beating those guys out for the award, so there's those are two guys who probably aren't going to win. The award then Coli Jaanus em-. Patrick mahomes obviously coli. We know what he did last year We know he's doing this year. We know he's having a very good season offense offensively and defensively. and. We saw what he did last year like I, said winning the. Winning, the finals in Toronto Giving Toronto. The first NBA Finals Award probably. Want to say, but you know probably the last one. We're GONNA see for a little while unless we let we surprised in the next coming years. And they and they make another big signing or something like that, but you know nonetheless. He gave Toronto the championship they were looking for for such a long time. Won The finals MVP beat the Golden State Warriors, somewhat dismantling that dynasty so so we know collided last year. He's very well deserving to in the running of this award as well. Deserving of even winning this award there's also Jaanus who was in the running the regular season MVP last year, and maybe the regular season MVP this year. He, said in impasse I. DO Think Lebron is the MVP this year. When all things are looked, we know all aspects different angles, but you know Jaanus just A. And and and you know just just looking on paper and and looking at the votes so far before the actual thing happens, he's been the top dog. He's been that lead vogue editor, and he's the front runner for the MVP, so we know what he is, and why he's in the running for this award but he probably will see him ended up winning that award so that. Maybe that's why we see beads. He tossing Lebron this one but We know why. Were in there then we know Patrick Mahomes aren't talking about him a little bit more in just a second, but let's talk about Lebron and why he did win. This award he is in his seventeenth season in the NBA his second season with the Los Angeles Lakers We know last season was obviously a disappointment for that team and Lebron not making the playoffs the first time he hasn't made the playoffs in I believe since maybe the the second year in his career. It's been that long since he's made the NBA playoffs. Was a testament to him and his greatness, his willingness to will a team to the playoffs. No matter what that team looks like but you know he couldn't get it. C couldn't quite get it done last year with the injury, and all the other Lakers in their injuries, being that roster in that lineup, being moved around constantly, not knowing rolls, or not knowing you know that ad drama that happened in the middle of the season, definitely ruined that team chemistry so lots of excuses. Lots of reasons last year didn't work out the way it did the way. They are expecting it to be which is why this? This season is so great. You know is so awesome for Lebron. Kinda shut up all the haters that were doubting him last year. Come out to somewhat switch positions. Go to play point guard. You know then to go and average twenty five points almost eleven assists eight rebounds again in his seventeenth season second in La and you know what a bigger stage to play in what what a bigger bigger bigger expectations to have been playing as the Los Angeles Lakers in the city of Los Angeles and he's owned up to it especially this year show shown everybody that he is capable of living up to the bright lights. I will in no way. Will he wilt under the pressure? like we somewhat saw him do last year, but again I think it had large to. I had to do in large part to do with that injury to the groin since it was the first major injury arguably in Lebron's career. You know the caused him to miss the most time. He's ever missed so. That that's why last year was so down and makes this year even greater in in my opinion, and what he's done for the Lakers and getting them to that number, one seed in the western conference like I said switching positions to the point guard position, averaging almost eleven or eleven assists a game leading the league in assists. Again in his seventeenth year. We know what he is though a facilitator really has taken..

"The many racial issues once you got a parking lighting including what happened in may not Minneapolis concerning the death of George Floyd also what happened in Central Park with Christian Cooper who's the black guy who was called up by Amy Cooper and related on the dog incident plus so much more we also have the comments of a Joe Biden almost on cue as election nears the race card is played directly indirectly to gin up the black vote a man with perspective on this is Kevin Jackson of the black sphere is a radio talk show host and author and otherwise a great American and once again Kevin Jackson welcome to the bill Cunningham show and Kevin our great Billy always good to talk to men and we got to talk about I mean all the things you just mentioned and then the you know Gregory nails releases in the post host of other things but let's cover the race stuff let's cover that first because you got all these local issues I think it is sad from what I've seen and let's face it there's other video tapes out there it appears on paper in reality the George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis police officers who acted improperly and I kind of attribute this to the same idea that Roman Catholic priest about the best man in the world but every now and then you have a very small faction to give the entire group a bad name and feeds into a narrative give your tape on the protest last riding taking place in George Floyd Minneapolis cop and then we're gonna talk about Joe Biden well first of all I think that the policemen's handle it even if Floyd resisted and they were manhandling him because he was fighting or whatever there was no need to to over react to that level as far as a lighting goes I don't think there's ever reason to ride over these things and this is this is one of these deals where and I wrote about in my book the big black I'm I'm sorry racing thing where you know we get jammed up and it's no justice no peace let's go distortion crap and make people believe that as what's his name was Brion James said black people are being hunted every time they leave their houses which is ridiculous well no question what it feeds a narrative that indicates that what lebron James said he's a cultural icon in the African American and many other many other communities in America so ants go lebron James so goes that part of our important part of our nation and when Gayle king of CBS morning news cries on television that this for some reason black folks of which you're a very proud member tend to internalize this in a way that but for the grace of god there goes I can you explain that the mental dynamics of looking out an incident which is rare and B. suddenly it's right in your face on a daily basis it's always very bill here's what what I always look at look at the other side I will bet you money that there's been a white person killed by cop in a similar manner that we know nothing about and the fact that we're not even a complete I have a comparison tell you all you need to know do you think that that hasn't happened to somebody white or Hispanic or Asian so the answer is of course it has big police over reacted in many cases and as they did in this case the only difference is it always reaches of the forefront when it's black and it's because we are taught to make things that issue because you know it's it's supposed to bring us all collectively together we can rally behind behind it well here's what I can tell you there is hardly an American out there who can't rally behind the idea that this man was killed it looks like in a bad way by police and you know beyond pro law enforcement but I don't believe there's any reason for this guy to have been killed and I don't know all the details I don't think he had a gun because he was a real threat there were four from there so let the man breathe get deal he's asking the brie liberty the idea that we have to raise the nation's consciousness to the intense international racism blah blah blah that supposedly exists everywhere we look I think it's ridiculous we don't either every time I've argued with the left is on a black killing I'm always ask them your high profile I'll go deep also killed in your city yesterday in Chicago over the weekend bill did you report the number of people who were killed I think it was seven to ten plus thirty wounded something like that but I know that hi good day killing fourteen people were killed okay there's nobody listening to this program who can name one and I would almost guarantee you and almost all of those deaths it was a black person killing another black person so why would we want to raise consciousness hello we raise it legitimately and by the way this is a legitimate issue but it is not a black white issue is a cop mistreatment of a citizen issue very and the ones that go ignored are the ones that I would say to us why are we not talking about the many times CNN and others talk about facts matter The Washington Post not exactly a right wing publication ran story after story that the great majority numerically of those killed by police are white but that never fits the narrative so it's not reported and because something occurs in the Bailey works of life every day that fits the narrative that gets reported that it creates a drumbeat as if there's a national problem when there isn't it looks to me like the Georgia killing of Aubrey may have been incorrect too but who knows what happened it looks to me as if that's unfair but the issue is this is there is systemic white supremacy problem and big city police departments my my dad run by Democrats and the answer is no but as long as these incidents continue to be reported disproportionate to their effect there's this implication that the police are a white supremacy group about the operate against African American males which is false but that not context is never given by the mainstream media because it doesn't fit the bias well here's here's the thing is that the listeners they'd understand bill nobody cares what the reality is they all know the Democrats and the cities of the police force along by somebody the the commission superintendent everybody in control of police are likely Democrats indoor likely black so they know that they they they know that this is the game the game is they already know the answer to the gate but they still get us to come talk about these things when we know that the game is great look there's no they don't you know Schenectady New York older middle Tennessee and go see what's happening to blacks by way of the police force you're not gonna find a whole lot of black right yeah I can see people getting killed in the little town America where blacks live not in the kind of numbers they do in cities these are tell the run by duly elected representatives who really care about rule of law for the most part not saying these people are near but you go to the city this one by Democrats all across the thing in a while they do I think all we got all this racism within all of the races if you're gonna bring this up in this context tell me who the races are because everywhere I look around you are Democrats the study can be quite frankly is boring how we let it rise to this level is is quite frankly a black eyed to America pardon the pun and we should be what it is is it's a distraction and why do they need to destruction because the Democrats are in a world of trouble Obama's legacy is down in flames he will be ripped up is the worst president in history one of the most corrupt administration so you know what though you're a racist well not exactly hold on I know that I what it did it made you take pause not me one other thing I I got to get on a Joe Biden always racial gas but Steph curry another cultural icon the great guard for the for the for the you're gold state warriors said what are we doing to ourselves this is America and so what they're doing is generalizing particular police make misconduct and blaming it isn't parties for actions committed by others that I don't agree with and you don't agree with what they want to generalize a particular racial problem because it drives home the point that Kevin Jackson you're a racist Tony Bender you're a racist bill Cunningham you're a racist Sean Hannity Rush you're a racist and so they want to generalize the particular criminal misbehavior of the cops involving George Floyd or I met I've met Aubrey or Amy Cooper in Central Park to make all of us responsible for individual acts of misconduct until that up to about I would say nice try it's not true personal part congratulations there's a New York leftists who decided the rules on a platter walk your dog off leash black man culture out on it she must call the cops on that you look at her politics you can find all of your home with her you need to move on woman that's what you'll find with her and Brian James these are morons who can dribble a basketball shoes basketball that's what they are everybody that considers them a cultural icon outside of the context of what they do is they equally big moron I don't give two seconds of thought to a lebron James says other than critiquing his immediate comment that black people are hunted because he said he's saying hunted by cops you know what he got right bill black people are hunted when they leave their houses they're hunted by other black people back to the wall finish the fence with and that's what people need to understand so I say to America the way you fight back if you dismiss it when they tell you cops are killing black people say because our kitchen with everybody if you want to be bad about because they don't just kill black people so shut up thank you everybody yeah but here's the big deal with who they kill the majority of whom they kill our people who deserve to be killed for shooting at them for doing harm to their spouses are the children of people in the community effort that we need so don't blame me don't tell me about the one anecdotal incident or here and there was something happens and for the record the guy that killed all three of you know Georgia that was not cops it was it was it was semi friends it would depend overreacted these things happen but the Macomb social issues that we all have to read we evaluate ourselves of American because I don't know his dragon Travis to make my call now what about the problem you ain't black in other comments of Joe Biden is gonna come out of his basement a little bit better interview with CNN the other day and what she's taking racial shots at the president and even though the president's come out against the and then the Opry situation and I'm sure what you doing the same with George Floyd it looks bad in reality how much and you have this on your website the Blackshear Biden exposes Democrats.

"So would you want your team to pull off what messiah Jerry pulled off or does the gamble in the risk really can make you nervous? Bella Besigye, Jerry did and we've talked about this throughout the whole series in saying, look I got a team that's really good. We just keep coming up short in these Eastern Conference playoffs. Now, albeit, let's put the caveat out there that LeBron James was in the Eastern Conference go into finals after finals after finals after finals, but the raptors always these. Teams like we'd get to the postseason. We do these postseason previews to be like, you know, the raptors defense is really good. They could give the run for their money and they never they never give anybody run for their money. So you Masai Jerry trades Tamar derozen. He gets Leonard and only gets core Leonard for one year. Right. That's it. That's all these. So he's got to do this thing where he's got to win in this year, and he's got to do so. And maybe do so in a way where he's hoping that the charm of the city, the fans the team that coaches him in particular, all of this is appealing enough to say, I'm going to stay here. I like it here enough to say that's a big gamble. Because if you fall short in the postseason if you have another one of those raptors disappointing seasons you gonna lose and Marge Rosen. Right. So, so he goes to pull this trigger. Anyway, I'm gonna trust that. There's something good about this organization this team. We're gonna pull this off, and we're going to either keep them or we're going to cash your chips in this year. Those are the two scenarios as open for. So he's hoping for either a we win we win the title or be we play well enough and good enough, and he and everything around in the raptors is appealing enough that who wanna stay, but the other big gamble was he's got Dwayne Casey as head coach. And he goes coach of the year and he goes, that's it. I can't now we're gonna move on. So does he go out? And does he get a coach? That is kind of waiting for another chance to come back in the NBA does he go out and get a maybe tries to poke somebody from another team. Right. Does he reach out to say whose contract is up who's having trouble who was recently fired? That was a better fit. Does he go get a name? No. He goes and gets Nick, nurse an assistant who has never been a head coach at the NBA but his coached at a number of levels in his been really successful. You almost wanna consider Nick nurses, a journeyman coach right around all over the world coaching everywhere. Winning all over the world and winning. I mean he was. I mean he you know he had a very successful non NBA coaching career until this season. And now he's an NBA championship coach, which is wow. Just crazy. But these are the moves he makes and he has no guarantee that any of this is going to work none, right? None. And in fact, if it doesn't work, it could end up disastrous for the organization. What if Nick nurse can't coach in the NBA? What if Leonard goes, I don't wanna play here? I have no interest to be. I don't care. Nice. You city is care enthusiastic fan bases. I have no interest here, what Philadelphia Boston, Milwaukee a really good, and there, the obstacles that they can't overcome. I mean my God they almost didn't overcome Philadelphia in the playoffs. But these are the gambles that Jerry does grows as he puts all of his chips on the table, and I have taken all of these moves that I've done, and it could have resulted in the same thing, raptor, fans have been dealing with for years and years with very good regular season team, just getting the postseason nothing but instead today, they're NBA champions, all of its paid off. Now that doesn't mean your team would pull it off. Right. That doesn't mean your team would win. It just means Toronto's did the bet came up the wheel came up red, you got twenty one came up seven, however, whatever gambling analogy you wanna pull out Toronto won the bet. All the chips on the table and Toronto won the bet even if walks. They won the bet. Right. They won the bet on. It was a huge huge risk. It again. It isn't even so much coli. Right. It's if they were able to get by for a couple of draft picks and some role players that, that amounted to the trade being equal. Okay, you could say great or whatever, but it was Dhamar Rosen. He's a popular guy. He's an all star player who's a beloved guy Toronto. They liked him. They liked him. And derozen wasn't too happy about it. He loved living in Toronto elect being is their party that feels bad for derozen. Right. Exactly. Because he's because it's look. He's watching everything that he loved celebrate without him. Right. He he's watching that city that he really liked the fan base that he loved. Right. The some of the players on the team that he bonded, with and became brothers with celebrating without him. That's got to be really difficult really, really difficult. And so again, messiah messiah, Jerry. I was in Denver. And I went to a number of press conferences with them, and he was always really smart. But, but when he went to Toronto, I remember people in Denver Boise Lee Doron because it's a better situation. It's a better opportunity. I said, you know, you guys love Denver loving and Denver wish he would stay wishy. Saw the city in the organization like you see the city in the organization. But Toronto is a better situation for him. He was he was too smart. He was looking to win a championship in wanna rebuild the nuggets. That was a waste of his time he knew to Toronto. I got a team up put together something there. He did he, he really did. And this was this again. I mean, this is stones men. I mean, the twin Casey firing people lose their minds that one was shocking. How do you get rid of a coach of the year reminds me of the chargers? Getting firings. Marty Schottenheimer after going fourteen into exactly exa- do that. You have to see something. We don't see you have to see the things in the. Locker Maury in the hallway that we don't see to make a move like that. In all indication was really, really wasn't anything Dwayne. Casey did wrong. They just he just wanted another voice, but you can excuse Dwayne Casey for not making it to the finals in the Eastern Conference at headline Brion, James in it for crying out loud. Right. I mean that's just it felt like that with everybody Brad Stevens name your NBA coach in these conference at put together good teams that ran into the LeBron buzzsaw in these, you can't blame doing Casey for that. But you Jerry looked and said, you know what I made up lay them. I'm not throwing them out of here. I'm not saying that he's he was a terrible coach. I just needed a new voice, what a gamble and that new voice coming from your bench, instead of some guy that's already had that has gone through this league and has been, you know, he knows the arenas. He knows the scheduling he knows the referees. He knows. He knows everything about an eighty two game marathon and getting your team ready for the playoffs. He's gone through that nurse maintenance known that, but he never he never had a chance to put that into practice until this year. And listen, there's more to coach say, there's more to coaching in the NBA that just knowing your Xs and os, you really do need to know how to pay. Your players in a schedule. We're on the road for seven games. And I need to monitor minutes on the back to back, I need to monitor minutes on three games in five days. I need to what this arenas is like this. This referee is like this, that takes a while that takes some experience now nurse who's been ill been in the league as an assistant probably processed all that. Now, you put it in place, and it resulted in what you saw last night, a really well, he won this championship with a box and one defense he was not afraid to use that. That's awesome. I mean it's awesome. An eighth grade defense in the NBA and it worked because he knew you know what? I don't care if people laugh at me and think this is stupid. I have I have they have nobody but Steph curry, and this is the defense you play when you have one star player and you can control over them, and that's the key to because he got a lot of backlash. She got a lot of criticism for it. And you sometimes he's gotta push all that aside, you know what I know is going to. To win the series. Yep. Exactly that, you know the other team playing against you know they're feeling players. You've never heard of before. But. God. You know, just just the, the moves that he made the moves everything that the raptors did. I'm hoping it's not a new trend. You know, we're just kind of build these. I mean really what it feels like college basketball one and done. Well, that's the whole thing, right? This is not. We're not looking at the raptors and now saying, oh, okay. There's a new king of the NBA for the next couple of years. We need to know what co- is gonna do, right. We need, but look at the Eastern Conference. I mean, look, the raptors took care of Milwaukee pretty easily, but the bucks aren't going anywhere with Putin holes are in Janas. Right. They're not going anywhere. The Philadelphia seventy Sixers are continuing to build a ferocious basketball team that'll be a forced to deal with Boston is, is either going to be awesome with, with their signings. Are they going to blow it up and start all over again? We have no idea what the offseason is gonna play with kyri potential borrowing of Anthony Davis for a year. But. We're not sure yet with unless we know where why is going to go. We don't know what the raptors are going to be like Nick season. So we're not ready to say there's a new king town in the NBA. In fact, the king of the NBA might still be the team that lost last night. But depending on injuries going going forward what a what a series what a wild while wild series it.

"In the Eastern Conference finals has been pretty good, right? I mean Cole is done a really good quiet. Leonard for Toronto has done a fantastic job of bringing them back in this series. And they're on the precipice of going to the NBA finals. Come on. Now, if we're gonna put ourselves on the truth, though, meaner unless you're in Toronto. Milwaukee. May be some of you who are appreciating the stardom in the way Jaanus and co wire plane in that series. But in a like when LeBron's on the floor. And I hate saying this because it demeans playoff basketball really does. I mean, this is the first time in forever. Where we vet Nola Brion James in the postseason. And they now just feel like games. There was something special, I think about LeBron, especially in the east trying to slay one of those dragons in the Western Conference. And, you know, well, what was the biggest controversy around the Golden State Warriors. They Katie came out Mizuko. You media guys you being mean again. And you, you media gosh try to drive away in between us and all of that stuff. You'll drive a wedge between them when you're out the door at the end of the year. And by the way, Golden State's doing pretty good without Kevin Durant. I'm not going to sit here and argue they're better without him. But you could probably make the case that he is a high end luxury, the Mehta Golden State doesn't necessarily need long term. They're still pretty good without the guy. That's a fair way of looking at it. But look. There's been a lot of talk about the future. There's been a lot of talk about where our guys like Kevin Durant, and kyri Irving and coli Leonard where these people go into go. So here's the road. I think I want to go down to start today's gresh show at eight five five two one two, four CBS, eight five five two one two four two two seven. I'm typing in right now into my old Google machine. A list of the top thirty free agents here in two thousand nineteen. And I'm the top five that pop up hoof. Let me tell you. Kevin durant. Kobe Leonard Cairo Irving, Kemba Walker Klay Thompson. If you want to continue to go down the list, maybe look at the top ten's main, Jimmy Butler, yet Chris Middleton in there. Sorry. Billy dangelo. Russell. Yell a lot of good players. But let me ask you merica. Of these list of free agents who's the one you want. And who's the one you don't want? Now I'll be honest with you. I live in the New England area. I've had full disclosure about that. And I've seen a lot of Kyrie Irving this year. And I know the Kyrie Irving is great player. I know he got named one of those all NBA teams that means he can get a whole ton of money, and we can get into that ridiculousness later on the media, people are tied into how much money these guys can really make bullets just narrow this down a little bit. I'm I'm trying not to be biased against Kyrie Irving. The problem is I've seen him on a team that I watch on a consistent basis for two years. And I know a couple of things. Number one, he's a hell of a player number two. I hated what he did in the playoffs this year. He quit. Yes. Q U. I T quit go. Watch game five against Milwaukee and convince me, otherwise, and I also know that he's not a leader. So for me. My stayaway guy is Kyrie Irving. And you don't know what guy you're gonna get in terms of his mood. You don't know what you're going to get in terms of his focus. In the beginning of the year, he was saying, oh, so big Fangio love the heavy back. You're a hero. Then midway through the year. He was f- in check on July first. And, and it really was that different. Well, if you'll have me I'd love to stay here. Yeah. We'll check on July first the Ono. What moody kyri you're going to get? I'm out on Kevin Durant, too. Again, great player playoff finisher. He's kyri isn't, but you don't want Kevin Durant as the leader of your basketball team. The only team in the league willing or let me let me backtrack that the only fan base in the league willing to invest in Kevin Durant as a leader are knick fans because they have no other choice. I'm sure there are other fan bases who would welcome Kevin Durant on their roster. But turning the team over to him and let him be the guy sets the tone, because that's exactly what happened. Even if is there if Kevin Durant is there. That's the guy that people are taking their cues from, if you don't think Durant, and Kyrie at some point aren't going to get bought hurt over something, and potentially get after each other than I think you're nuts. Unlevel, Leonard is done. And I think Leonard is very endearing because he shuts his mouth, and he does the work. As a playoff killer. He's been great in this eastern. He really he'll in hockey they give the con- Smyth trophy for the best player for the postseason. I don't know the Toronto Raptors are going to win the NBA finals. But the best player this postseason in the NBA beginning Dan has been Coalisland. And no one knows what he's gonna do. Right. He's the mystery man mystery mystery, then you have Kemba Walker the Hornets. I read somebody say this about Kemba Walker the other day. That Kemba Walker. Is good because he puts up numbers on a very average team. And while they may be something to that. Here's the thing that I remember about Kemba Walker the NCAA tournament that guy was a killer. And the reason Yukon cut another national championship was because of Kemba Walker. Put him on his shoulders. Instead, it's co-boys they had some help along the way get you. But to me Kimball. Walkers underrated player. I think anyway. And then you have Klay Thompson. Nine oh that for some of these guys making, you know, it's the whole restricted unrestricted stuff like that. I'm just talking about the players themselves. Tobias harris. Is that somebody that you covet Jimmy Butler truly funny? Is it if I put Durant Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler in one category? And then I took coli Kemba and say Klay Thompson other category, we can almost group these guys off based on what we've seen from them on and off the floor. The Deva Kevin Durant is is that compared to Irving and Jimmy Butler. Kevin Durant is an assassin in the postseason. So why don't we start with some NBA because everybody people have had their I on the NBA playoffs. I don't know how many of you are not investing the amount of time in the NBA, playoffs that you would have had LeBron James been on a team that was a part of it. But a lot of people are talking about free agency, and a lot of people are talking about who's gonna go here. Who's gonna go there. And if your a fan of a team that has cap space, if you're the fan of a team that has a general manager, who can think if you're a fan of team who's been waiting for someone in this crop to go to your team to hopefully change the fortunes of your squad, and your roster. There've been a lot of across the country who have been thinking about who you do. And you don't want. And I would say this if I can only pick one and that's I'm gonna limit it to there's the one you can pick. And there's the one, you know, want the one you can pick in the one you wanna tell to go away. I want quiet Leonard. I don't want career Ving. Those are my two. How about you? Eight five five.

"Edition of won't and low thirty eastern on ESPN definitely want to check that out. Now, we are set for the playoffs. Those guys will break it all down, but we have Dominic Foxworth and Jalen rose here in meek, I want to start with you because you didn't really get a chance to comment on this yesterday. We're going to spin it forward. But just your initial reaction as we're still sort of basking in the shock that was magic walking away. Obviously I was shocked like everyone else. But honestly, I came away feeling happy for magic get out of there. You don't want to be there. Don't be there. And he acts in my opinion. He set the Lakers up in a decent position. He left him better than he found him. So while what he did yesterday was unprofessional. You should talk to your boss. I it before you leave. I don't think it really changes anything. It just makes us look at him and say, maybe you should've gave her a call before you did this. But if you don't want to be there get out, and now they have the Brian James locked up for three years with player option, and they have a bunch of expiring contract. So they have room to get somebody else. So I feel like that's a better position than they were before magic. And this was unique for the Lakers brand, which is a story one the Brion James who's an iconic powerful individual on and off the floor. However, there's one person that he's not more powerful. That's Magic Johnson. Right. And that car got bulled. And the vet move the magic actually did was he made sure he tweeted. Thank you Jeanie. Yeah. Thank you. Rob. Thank you loop. Thank you players. So now any changes that get me? Ain't no meat. Yeah. Yeah. I'm surprised. Marco anything into the fact that LeBron didn't get a personal shout out there too. Because if anybody deserves though, I know that's not a personal shout out. He also said all the people that work for the organization, which rob Pelinka falls today in Jeanie falls, also but LeBron personal shot. I it was. I mean, I've got an interesting, particularly because LeBron has made it commonplace to do one year with the player option one year the player option, and because of how the Cavaliers kind of did him dirty, and that I in the first contract when he when he signed long-term deals, I wonder how he feels now we've finally gave someone a real commitment and year later, the organization is turned upside down and how about this. If your magic LeBron James does not go to LA if LeBron magic is in pitching him in recruiting him. So now to your point you get him to sign at three year deal, and they don't make the playoff imagine just walks away. Lebron still gotta play there for two million which that. So interesting because everyone keeps talking about their picking up the pieces we understand that. This is probably going to take a little bit of time for the Lakers figure out exactly what they want to do here. But what do you think they're going to do not what should they do? But what do you think Jeanie Buss actually does here with Luke Walton with rob Pelinka would all things equal Luke Walton returns as the head coach for a couple of reasons one he didn't do a badge. If you look at the stats at the Lakers were poor in three point shooting free throw shooting in turnovers. Those all roster issues necessarily performance issues, and we have a bunch of veterans on one year deals, and you have a bunch of young clears on rookie deals. There's no level of investment. Because none of those guys are settled O'Brien realized they're coming back next year. I think actually, right. That's a good point..

"We in such a hurry as a society. What's this slow things down so fifth row? Friday, come up, fifteen minutes here. And then we've got fast track at two ahead of Lakers basketball, two-thirty thirty Lakers in Detroit to face the pistons tonight, a very hot pistons team in Nola Brion, James he is being rested as the Hindi might do to load management. Keep that load down. The NFL is suspended Kareem hunt. The Cleveland Browns now Cleveland Browns running back, formerly of Kansas City for eight games in rece- relation to what is now come out to be three separate incidents of violence. The one that took place in Ohio that we saw the video of Andy that prompted the chiefs to release him. And then a what I believe is a bar fight. And then some other something's described as like, a minor altercation that may or may not be anything like whatever put so the bar. Fight. He was described as kicking another person. It was a man. Like in. You know, like, I don't think that's good. Did they screw this up again, like eight game to me eight games feels that was very Ireland to me that feels light. I understand. He didn't play the second half of a lot of the second half of last year. But that wasn't because of the NFL now is because the chiefs cut him. I eight games we've always saw that video for league that's still talking about domestic violence. For me. Brian the issue if you're asking me, if eight games feels a little light the answer would be. Yes. But what bothers me more than the number of games Kareem hunt. Got is how quickly he's even there to get suspended true because Cleveland jumped on the opportunity of him getting cut for this horrific incident..

"So we're gonna talk to Kenya coming up here in just a bit. But before we do so one story this, I guess you could say developing throughout the last couple of days, and I guess has reached its zenith is that Nick foles is headed to Jacksonville. And then the Jaguars. And there was no other people that wanted this guy. It was either Jacksonville or he's gonna have to retire. The nobody else wanted to have this guy in their team or what? And I guess that's what did he goal sits to find out. Unfortunately as they were shopping him. And it's it's got to be tough. Because listen, I like Nick foles, and I I love what he's done the last couple of years. But it's still the dude that got smoked in two weeks is a started to start this season. It's still the guy that looked awful near the end of last year. Zuber ball. And I know. Sure though, right. I know. But would you would you want them in Miami? I mean, would you want it? I would have taken is a stopgap for one year. If I was thinking about winning, absolutely. I would have done. I think that's what's going on here in Jacksonville, though. And I'll be real interested to see what Kaufman gets them for what kind of financial financial details. We're looking at because there might be a two year deal. I guess I don't maybe. I maybe I'm underselling the Super Bowl run Arnie. Maybe I'm being a jerk when it comes to the Super Bowl run because I say to myself, he's a great fit with what Doug Peterson does. But I don't know if he's really been able to prove that he can do it anywhere else in any other offense, but he won a Super Bowl. And this is usually where you slide in. Yeah. We'll soda Trent Dilfer. And how did that work out everywhere else? He went maybe maybe he does great. Maybe it works out to perfection in Jacksonville. But I dunno Arnie. I'd almost I'd almost take my chances another year with Blake Bortles as opposed to spending too much money on Nick foles. You you can't do the Bortles thing that the fans have had enough of that. You've you've got to move on. You you've got to try something else. You you can't do a whole nother year. Bortles they'll go crazy down there. A couple of tweets here real quick while we wait hopefully, talked about the Lakers. First of all Brian hits us up says guys after decay Metcalfe's machine light combine performance. The Lakers must be Lippi licking their chops. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I thought you said, oh, I did say the Lakers. I'm sorry. My bad ride. The raiders. Are you never know? You never know. He'd be a nice little power forward with what they're not doing right now on the boards. I think everyone I think all thirty two teams are intrigued by this. Because I mean, if if I don't know how anyone could have what was it one point six percent body fat? I mean, how will today that goes to show you how bad I am on the draft. I was doing who the patriots should take with the last pick in the first round and Metcalf was the guy go the he might not I go he'll be there. The last picking the first round take medcalf now he's gonna be God way before that, I'm horrible at this stuff. Yeah. Now, he might end up being the one of the first offense players off the board after Kyle Murray. And then take warns Clemson that if he's out there he'll be out there number thirty two. He's not even going to be around the number twenty well Arnie. But again, you're not alone. I mean, go back and look at all the other. Professional draft experts out there. They were saying the same damn thing. They were saying the same thing they had decay medcalf as they lower round pick Lawrence is one of the last guy. No one had Montas weed is a sweat as a top ten pick. Oh Chen's about him today. He might be the it's probably going to go like this as far as defensive players Bosa or Williams one and then the other one two and then maybe Josh Allen. But there's a good chance Montana. Sweat could be pulling in their order. Sean Gary after what he did today. So it was pretty incredible. But I don't see any problem with with what you said about madcap because no one thought a he was going to do what he did today. And yet it's still a crazy evaluation because your the dudes a freak y'all. We saw all the pictures that went out there on the internet. Yeah. He's allegedly one point six percent body fat. I don't even know how he would see bell. I heard that can't be true. I heard you'd be dead serious. Yeah. The same thing. I I heard the same thing. So I don't know how that's even humanly possible. But there you go. There you go. I mean, he's still might end up being one of the top picks in the draft. And it's not just the raiders. It's anybody Josh asks a very good question here. I can't believe the cards will actually draft Kyle Murray. They take two quarterbacks two years in a row that just proves they have no clue what they're doing new coach are not does that raise red flags to you. Well, new coach wants it his way. So. Yeah. Raises red flags but to the cardinals. What do you want him to do? Of course, they're going to do it the wrong way. I think you hit it on the head to when you said, maybe I don't know. Maybe we'll have to check in with whether Arizona peeps. Yeah. He didn't necessarily win over the locker room. Like, you would want a guy to do. I think whenever you're losing games. Like what they finish three and thirteen. I don't think you're gonna win over many people whenever that's the case. But he had a garbage offensive line. David Johnson wasn't a David Johnson. She saw Bruce Arians offense is best wide receiver was ninety. So I mean, it's got to be tough with those weapons at weren't around him. And then one more here real quick from David who writes any chance Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis joined up with the clippers next year to battle the Brion James for control of Los Angeles. Davidson who? Kevin durant? Kevin Durant going to the New York. Knicks book that in order to Kevin Durant jersey, New York Knicks. Yeah. Do you get the feeling that the Durant to New York conversation feels as done as the LeBron to LA? Yeah. Crustacean last year one hundred percent. So I don't know if there's I just don't think there's this desire for anyone to get to L A and play for the clippers to say. We've gotta go get LeBron there might be desire to go play. Because they've got an interesting roster. And they've got. Well, known coach what what happened to Kuwait Leonard going to the Lakers is that is that done. Now, we're done. I don't think that's done by any stretch of the imagination. I I don't know how we ever get anything out of Leonard. The dude never says anything lapsed now. So we got that go. Yeah. We've got the quiet lab put it appears as if things are going well for them up in Toronto. I don't know if that means he's going to stay there or not. But as it is interesting as March thirteenth is going to be for the NFL. I feel like Arne what mid June early July, which usually usually wraps up around July fourth. I think.

"They there there were at the Sixers took advantage of turnovers in tennis. They call them unforced errors. Yeah. There were some unforced errors by the Lakers tonight. But you know, when you do when you have a game like that it might it might point to something. You know, what I mean like, it might point the Sixers in a direction says, you know, we can get a lot of turnovers. If we just apply ourselves a little bit more and take chances because you have a guy ran protect your like in beat you can take more chances. And most teams, you know, what I'm saying. Yes. Do it. Yeah. Built off just a belief. So be it. I usually like to see it built up them actually doing it. And then. Lakers helped them, but they did do it. They got some. Yeah, they forced on that. They had a whole bunch of them handed to the monitor silver platter? Now, he was not a Laker team out there on the floor tonight. Now our spirited conversation last night. I want you to know I think anything Davis a better player than poor at Butler about that. I mean, but you you were sort of making my point which is if he's one of the top five talents in the league. He oughta be Portland in the playoffs. I mean, really I don't think he won a game in the playoffs against Portland last year. I mean, that's just that's underachieving as a player. And by the way, he does play the same position as Embiid. And that would be a problem. I don't think it's an easy. It's not one of those. You know, the way that cliche. It's a nice problem to have. I don't think it is a nice problem to have two fives. I think you wanna have a guy in Butler who gives you something that Embiid and Simmons can't give you right? And that's what I said last night was if you're gonna make the argument that you don't wanna trade a Butler for a Davis. It's more an argument of fit then overall talent because I'm glad you called in tonight and said I wasn't suggesting it butlers actually a better player than Davis. Could certainly that's the way you were hinting last night. Directly say that Butler was but now making the argument that because Butler. Somehow elevated Chicago with less talented around him. Yeah. Yeah. He had Derek who is Davis ever had in New Orleans. Well, I know holidays are pretty damn good player is there gross. Saying holiday was a pretty damn good. You is Derrick rose. I know. But you know, they were playing a war with a Brion James cavalier team that they took the seven games. And I mean, it was it James was very happy that that series was all that was a war. And I just I haven't met yet to see the pelicans compete like that in any like major, you know, face off with a really good team. I just haven't seen yet. And I think if the guy's a top five talent, it's more incumbent on him. He's got more to prove than Jimmy Butler is arguably in maybe top twenty but Jimmy Butler is a blue collar guided plays at the top of his game. He's he's made himself into the player. He is. I think I'm I'm still wondering if Davis has an under produced in in terms of his talent. Yeah. I don't agree with that. I think that he's been with mediocre teams and hasn't been able to person. Lift them. If you want to say that he's got a lift more. Okay, fine. But I I'm cutting to black because I don't think he's ever had anybody around with bookie with boogie cousins. Did that's kind of a five five situation. What what was their record? When before cousins went down. That'd be interesting to know. I don't think they were that great. But they were in the playoffs in Western Conference, which is pretty damn good. No. But I mean, you know, we certainly you can't say cousins isn't talented. Right. And and it actually I didn't necessarily understand why they made the deal because it's to begin with because I actually think the cousins and Davis was of worst mix. Then what Embiid and Davis would be? 'cause I thought that cousins is is and I know boogie to like he's got like he likes to step out and shoot threes and actually thinks he can shoot three's on I cringe every time. Boogie cousins takes a three Davis. He shoots a issues a lot of shoot. A lot of threes. But he's not afraid to take twenty foot jump shots. He does like to shoot he looked. He he thinks of himself as you shooter one last thing after and beat goes down in it. I think this all idea holding your breath every time in beat does something on the floor. I think those days are over. I think his body is finally grown. He's finally settled in you know, he he knows his body. He went through a rough period early in his life because he was still growing and the bones just couldn't support him. But I think now he's he's one of the strongest guys in the league. And I don't worry about him injury anymore. No. I don't guys get hurt. And being strong doesn't keep you. He. What does it matter? How strong you are. If you snap your ankle, you're done. Yeah. I know. But I just don't think he's he's fragile fragile either. No. That's that's true. But he can get injured just as easily as anybody. And I'm sorry guys. I appreciate your optimism. It was scary. The way that he went down tonight. The fact that he went to his knees was scary. Now, he came out of the game. He went back into the back. He thought he had hurt. His back was scared about his back and a stretch them out. He was good enough to come back into the game and still continue to play. So that's the good news. But if you didn't links when you saw the way that he landed after that errands lob pass the night, you got a better stomach and constitution than I do. "If they could this certainly not during the season, but even in the off season, I think their best course of action is to use their use their salary cap space to sign another star player while keeping this young core intact because LeBron James for as great as he is. And I can't say that enough as great as LeBron James is he is thirty three going on thirty four and he is at the tail end of his career. He wants to live. Out the four years of this contract. As I think he fully does that. But at the end of it we're talking about a thirty seven year old player and how many teams are built around a thirty seven year old player. So they need to build around a younger star and watch this unit grow together. And I think they got something special brewing over the next couple of seasons in LA. But it's not about this season. This is this season is about the growth in for people that jumped out right away and say, hey, just because they got LeBron James the second best team in the Western Conference. No, they're not. And I don't think they'd go to the Western Conference finals. I think this is a team that gets eliminated in the postseason. I do think there are a playoff team. But then again more than half the league is a playoff team. I think that they will use this time to grow and to learn about themselves without LeBron James. And I think that is extremely important for them. Extremely important for that. Eight five five three two three four NBC eight five five three two three four six two two. After the game last night. And then we just control the pace after the Rondo was gigantic and control the Pay's getting to Hispano either for scoring for his in his layup package, or you know, finding guys out there.
