The Fruit of Liberal Arts
"So a lot of parents have had this experience. You send your kid off to college, you're proud. Dylan got into duke. We're so happy. And then the kid comes back and hates not only you, but the country and himself and the chances of that child having a happy productive personal life go to about zero. That's the fruit of liberal arts in this country now. So it's a very common experience, but one mother decided to try and fix it. She sent her daughter to a town ten mount holyoke university of Massachusetts tuition, over 50 K a year. The child comes back totally programmed like a cult member. So the mom spends 300 bucks a day for a deprogrammer to undo the brainwashing and it worked. Annabelle Rockwell is the daughter. She graduated mount holyoke. She's now the development director at PragerU. She joins us. So annabelle, thank you so much for coming on. So deprogram suggests undoing unreasonable religious belief. Did you feel like a cult member after man holyoke? Tucker, thank you so much for having me. First, I'm gonna say that I arrived at mount holyoke bright eyed and bushy tailed so excited to be there in 2011 and is as soon as I got there, I was told that, you know, I should refer to myself as a first year, not a freshman because we were a historically women's college. I was left to note in my mailbox saying he may be a she, she may be a he don't assume anyone's gender, and I thought, oh, okay, that's new. Hold on a second. This is precious. It's an old girl's college. But you shouldn't assume that it's a girl.
One Bright Light in This Midterm Landscape
"There are not a lot of bright lights and this midterm landscape. But one of them, surely, is the steady movement of Latinos toward the GOP. Now, this is not a movement that has been completed. It is a movement that is underway. If you look, for example, at Florida, heavy Latino vote for desantis and interestingly, he seems to have won Latinos kind of across the board. With Greg Abbott in Texas, the results a little bit more mixed, but Abbott got a decent share of the Latino vote. If you look at the Rio Grande valley a special interest of W's and mine because Debbie grew up there, we had three Latina Republicans running Cassie Garcia and Myra Flores, who was in Debbie's own district where her mom lives. And then Monica de la Cruz. So normally one of them, Monica, dela Cruz won. But the other two actually came really close. Cassie Garcia was edged out by the way by a fairly conservative Democrat cuellar. Is that the guy's name Henry, Henry cuellar, and Myra Flores, I mean, this is a district that used to go easily 60 40, 20 point difference or more. Even more. And Myra got what, 43 or 44. And so the other guy, so does that still a ten point gap, but the point is the gap is narrowing.
Getting the Conservative Message to the Left
"If you want to know, in part, why the elections went as badly as they did. And they did. It's silly to deny it, and they were bright spots, obviously, Florida being the obvious exception. And Texas, but if you want to know the ultimate reason and there are many. And I will get to some of them. But the ultimate reason, they don't hear us. They don't read us. They don't know us. They don't study under us. They have never heard the vast majority. This is true for liberals as well as leftists. They have never heard our arguments for our data. They have only heard the condemnation of our pseudo fascism or as one Williams wrote Christian nationalism.
Ron DeSantis and the Florida Model
"Florida is one of the bright spots in what has turned out or is turning out to be a very dismal election. And I'm going to talk about the details of the election, a little more in the next segment. But I want to focus here on Florida and the kind of hero of the Florida model, which is, of course, Ron desantis. Now, desantis has shown that he has done almost everything right. In Florida. He has reflected the trumpian or maga spirit, but he is also effectively converted it into public policy. That is actually very important. And in fact, some of the people who are champions of desantis over Trump make the point that on the critical issue of COVID. Desantis was right and Trump was wrong. Now, I can't really disagree with that because let's think about it. Desantis made a bet. And his bet was I'm going to keep Florida open. No matter what. Had it turned out that this was the kind of pandemic where people were dropping like flies. This would have been devastating for desantis and he would most certainly have not been reelected, let alone with the kind of giant margin that he won by. Trump, by contrast, kind of went along, at least went along for a while with the idea of a national shutdown. Now this wasn't entirely in Trump's hands because Trump was Trump was dealing with governors and democratic states that were going to shut those states down no matter what. And in that sense, Trump didn't have a choice in that matter. But it's also true that the Trump was convinced that this was kind of pressing necessity. And so Trump went in the opposite direction of desantis at least for a while, and the effect of it was actually very damaging to Trump himself. Why? Because it started choking off the Trump economy.
Paris 2024 Olympics, Paralympics mascot is a smiling hat
"A Red Hat with a lot of symbolic meaning in France has been selected as the mascot for the 2024 Paris Olympics If he is It's known as a friesian cap and is worn by Mary Ann Francis personification of liberty who can be found everywhere from schoolrooms to stamps usually leading the troops during the French Revolution The two 2024 Olympic mascots are dubbed together a lay fridge and look kind of like a pair of floppy red triangles with friendly faces a tricolor ribbon and bright sneakers the Paralympic version features a prosthetic leg Organizers say they wanted something that represented an ideal and chose the cap as an allegory of freedom that embodies the ability we have when we collectively decide to rise up to strive for something better I am Jennifer King
Brian Mudd: A First Encounter With Ron DeSantis
"Mentioned that I know Ron DeSantis to be not only a great governor but a really bright man It was interesting My first encounter with Ron DeSantis and his wonderful wife Casey was actually at a small private function Years ago at this point it must have been around a decade When I was introduced to them by one of the local let's say influential people in politics And it was when he was considering making the first congressional run And it was just to kind of get a read for what he was all about I remember even in a little private setting he delivered an amazing speech from a point of passion and the issues and he had such command was so intelligent Not necessarily the most affable guy he's just so focused on the issues And then Casey just an absolutely sweetheart I've watched him grow over the past decade Into the congressman he became and then ultimately our governor I've watched him grow as governor as well

Mike Gallagher Confirms He Has COVID Again
"Here's a text message on the MyPillow text line. Mike, those COVID tests are completely unreliable. Try again. You don't know me. How many do you think I've taken? Don't you know me by now? Tried four. All four of them with a bright red. Oh, I got it. Believe me, Phoenix. You're not talking to some ordinary run of the bill hypochondriac. I take it to a whole new level. Eric, do you have the organ music? We got to get Mark Davis's Gregorian chance. Mark was playing because that's me. I told my kids last night. All right, kids. It's been nice knowing you have got COVID again. I'm going to the light, we got the organ music playing, the Gregorian chants. Like the candles, nah, I'm not going to miss them. I'm not going to miss a minute of the Mike Gallagher show. I mean, for crying out loud, even if they wanted to give me an award in Denmark, I wouldn't miss a day this week or next. It's the election. One of the biggest elections we've ever seen. I kid. I kid my friend Dennis, who is going to be off for a couple of days in Denmark, receiving a well deserved award. But for me, Matt, I'm not going anywhere right here.
The Midterm Candidates That Robby Starbuck Is Excited About
"Robbie, walk us through some of the candidates that you're most excited about. House candidate Senate candidates that you're really looking at. Obviously Carrie and Blake, which are great. I'm going to try to steal you to come on our live stream, by the way, on election night, which is a really magnificent thing. Our team will be in touch. But tell us what candidates are you looking at? I mean, I have to just go back to Kerry first because Carrie and I spoke long before she came out about politics and we like I just knew she was so incredible so smart right on the issues and I was like here you have got to run for office. So I'm very proud of the fact that I was here very first endorsement. And I just love her. She is going to be a superstar and I think is going to set the standard in the way descent is sort of has this governor where everybody's going to be going, hey, my governor, you need to be more like Carrie. And so it's good that we're getting these people in there that can set that standard of the new right and set that path forward so the norm becomes eventually ten years from now that the entire Congress and governors main shins and everything are filled with people like that. But in Congress, you know, I'm very excited about Anna paulina. I think she's going to bring incredible change and challenge the squad in ways they've never been challenged before. So I think she's an incredible one for people to get behind and can really, you know, she can be somebody who ends up in the Senate, ends up being governor one day. I think she's got a bright, bright, bright future. I love Blake masters because again, I think he's one of those standards setters and JD Vance as well. It's about setting that new standard.

Mike Lee: The Reforms Republicans Must Pass
"Is Joe Biden pulling the Obama where now for the next two years I know you remember this where when we had control on the chambers area Obama just blamed everything then on the obstructionist Republicans And I think one of the reasons that message worked for him at least was because we really didn't put forth a really consistent strong agenda I think we need to go back to kind of newt's contract with America thing where we need to get something down on paper And like Reagan said you know these big bright differences these big differences No no pastels here I mean they really really have to set forth an agenda to the public that they understand Here's what wherefore and here's what therefore and even though we know Biden's not going to sign this stuff we got to push the agenda prosperity freedom protectionist Second Amendment protection alike Your general thoughts on that Yeah we absolutely have to if we get the majority We're doing this new lease on life on liberty We've got to do so with the understanding that it will be on a very short leash from the American people Who have been let down before And I think we've got to attack this thing and get right to the root of the matter I think one of the first things we ought to put up as an agenda item is passage at The Rain sack Making it more difficult for unelected unaccountable bureaucrats to make law in this country We also need to pass other reforms like the enemy government shutdowns act the full faith and credit act to make it more difficult for Democrats and other beltway insiders to use spending deadlines as a cudgel of pushing through massive inflationary deficit spending spending measures These are just a few of the things that I think ought to become our top priorities and pushing aggressively for those if we're blessed with the majority
COVID-Era School Shutdowns Caused Historic Learning Losses for Kids
"Other story that appeared just the news John Solomon's allot which I really like COVID year is shut down school shutdowns cause historic learning losses for kids I don't even need to read you Mike Tell you what the losses were dramatic They were historic reading in math They mentioned I believe fourth graders and 8th graders Was this hard for people to figure out again folks treat me the liberals will do it anyway because they just don't like being able to treat me like an idiot for a second Was this hard I mean so we shut let me just say I'm not that I'm not that bright I don't know what's going on here So you got to just talk slow to me So there was a virus that broke out You had very little evidence that shutting things down was going to mitigate the virus And it turns out in the long run it didn't And you decided to shut down schools for kids who are at low risk for the virus and how are the kids going to learn We're going to stick them in front of an iPad in their house and do like a zoom class You are So no social interaction Nothing of the sword You're going to just teach kids over Zoom like can't they just go to rumble or some video platform or screw tube or whatever and download a video if that's the case And now you wondering why we've had historic drops in kids math and reading scores This wasn't obvious to you Hey to be fair it's fairness does matter My credibility with you matters This was not just Democrats I get a lot of Facebook messages during the break Dan I've got a governor here in Tennessee and a governor here in Texas and you know what They should have stood up against this stuff too Folks .1 100% stipulated I am with you This is not a Republican show It is a conservative show believe me there's a difference

Inflation Bites Biden Again
"A look. I want you to see this because Joe Biden is trying to spin this in a way that, frankly, I just find offensive. I told you he'd do it though. I told you he'd say, hey, guess what? Look at this shiny, bright little toy over here. We got an increase like you never seen in social security. We have that buddy. You have that because you got inflation that's totally out of control. Here we go. So folks. Seniors are going to get an inflation next year. For the first time in ten years, the social security checks will go up while their Medicare premiums go down. Here's my final point. We've got an election in the month. Voters have to decide Democrats are working to bring down the cost of things and to talk about around the kitchen table from prescription drugs to health insurance to energy bills and so much more. We're standing up for working people and the right to get a raise and get a better job. We publish a campaign every day on an agenda to raise your cost. Excuse me. I'm sorry, but the Democrats are somehow helping to alleviate concerns about gas prices. Again, excuse me, have you seen gas prices? I mean, this is a song and this is like, you know what this is like, this is like having James Taylor. Play at The White House to celebrate how inflation is lower when in fact it's actually higher. Is this like a reverse psychology thing? I'm sorry, guys. You know what? I'm tired of it. I really am. And you know what? It's not gonna work. It's not gonna work because Americans get it. Americans know how much they're paying at the gas pump. Americans know that they're paying nearly a 100% more. Just this year, since January, for a dozen eggs, I mean, this is out of control and this president needs to own up to what it really is about. And
Townhall: A Compilation of Joe Biden Pandering to Minorities
"Cut one hat tip town hall go I got raised in the black church He knows that I'm not kidding I got my education for real in the black church And that's not hyperbole It's a fact I was sort of raised in the Puerto Rican community at home politically It's a large very identifiable Somali community I might add if you ever come to the train station with me you'll notice that I have great relationships because there's an awful lot of driving cabs I probably went to shore more than many of you did You all think I'm kidding We've got the first sort of mainstream African American Who is articulate and bright and clean Nice looking You can not go to a 7 11 or a Dunkin Donuts Unless you have a slight Indian accent I'm not joking If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump then you ain't black Have you taken a cognitive No I haven't taken a test Why the hell would I take a test Come on man That's like saying you before you got in this program you take a test where you're taking cocaine or not what do you think huh Are you a jumper you say to president Trump who brags about his test and makes your number say an issue for voters Well if he can't figure out the difference between an elephant and a lion Young black entrepreneurs are just as capable of succeeding given the chance as white entrepreneurs are But they don't have lawyers They don't have they don't have accountants Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids What you all know but most people don't know unlike the African American community with notable exceptions but Latino community is an incredibly diverse community Romney wants to let He said in the first hundred days he's going to let the big banks once again write their own rules Unchanged Wall Street You're going to put you all back in chains

"Pj tucker joining the heat. Two year fifteen million first of all taking them away from the books is just cherry on top but then adding you're starting for that. Those were the biggest issues for the heat entering off season. Your starting point guard. And you're starting four and me solidified. Both positions at just huge from an victor oladipo comes back on veteran's minimum that is a low risk high reward. Move in every way you can possibly imagine. I mean first of all they keep his bird rights. So after next seas- after this pot this next season they'll be able to sign him over the cap to whatever money they need So and of course. I know he's not gonna play for most of the year. I think like half of the year so obviously they just wanna see what he can bring to this squad healthy in the playoffs and down the stretch of the regular season and man. He is an ex factor. He comes back and plays very good. This team can be easily contenders for the championship. This coming season gave. Vincent max come back for two year. Three point five million dollar contracts. Doing deadman also come back on one year minimum and markeith morse also comes in on a one year veteran minimum Markeith morris gives a lot of toughness on that bench twin deadman thing the great minutes off the bench as that backup center position and also just recently signed yours your seven. Oh mayor yards seven. Who's been the lighting up the summer league to a two year contract absolutely huge move. This guy was going to be sought after by every single team in the league and they lock them up a big that can shoot defend the rim and just do a little bit of everything man. It's gonna be really fun to see how that guy you know develops and he's a big. That can play alongside bam so it makes it very interesting for the heat. You gotta give them a plus. I'm not saying this. Just because i'm a heat fan. I'm really not but they are by far at least up until this point the biggest winners of the free eight of free agency bringing kyle lowry. Pj tucker holding onto robinson butler all the depot came back. Vincent strew some solid prospects at you know strouss at least gave great minutes. Vincent solid two-way guard. And then you bring. In key markeith morris wing deadman stays huge moves heat for sure most improved since last season and in my opinion they won the off season you can i sure just invalidate my comments. Because i'm a heat fan no problem but you cannot deny that they made huge moves on our certainly far more improved so eight plus for them milwaukee bucks. Bring back bobby portis on a two year nine million dollar deal. I liked that move. First of all he took. He took a discounted price here man. Because he loves the milwaukee bucks. He turned down much. Higher deals from other teams and one was the miami heat so just huge pickup for the box being able to keep their final hero there in the in the team semi oh chalet comes in on a minimum deal and then george hill comes back to the box. After a one year hiatus for two year eighty eight million dollar contract gives them a backup point guard decent veteran should give them some good minutes But it's been a pedestrian off season to say the least and i do know that they did just recently trade for what was his name again. How did i find the kid that trips everyone from the memphis grizzlies grayson allen. There you go. I just came just came to me grayson allen. Bring them in. I don't expect much from him but he does give a little bit of insurance on that bench dante. even chen's oh coming back on an injury. Bright barring forbes is no longer there so he's obviously going to fill that role for the bucks and i. It's up pedestrian offseason. Getting bobby portis on that deal certainly bumps up the great a bit so i will give them a b. I'll give him a b giving betting bobby portis on that smart on the short. You know very good valley deal huge. And obviously george hill also give them some solid stuff off the bench so i it's a b is a decent grade for a team. That really didn't do much this off. Season the new york knicks. Also very busy. This offseason giving julius randle four hundred seventeen million dollars extension amazing move especially on top of the fact that if they hadn't signed them to an extension this offseason. He was eligible for a two hundred plus million dollar extension next off seasons so getting a huge discount especially if he plays well this upcoming season. It's this is gonna look like an amazing extension so Great start their kemba walker coming in after buying out with okay see. I didn't see the exact numbers but it's somewhere around. It's a two year contract with about an eight to nine million dollar annual average salary. Amazing valley for kemba walker. Even if he doesn't pan out. Even though i'm sure you know all knicks fans are hoping he does because that would be the best. Get for them. This offseason because evan forty-eight coming in on a four seventy eight million dollar deal. That's just too expensive for me. There i just you know. Maybe forgetting fiba of evan -fornia you know that mean going around but if you get celtic forty four years almost eighty million. That's twenty million. A year for. Evan forty i just i just don't see it. I don't think it really moves the needle for the knicks but bringing back. Derrick rose nerlens no well alec burks taj gibson. It certainly hurts hurts. Losing bullock isn't that. I'm pretty sure that's his name. I mean double-check. Yes losing reggie bullock. Certainly hurts one of their best perimeter defenders if not their best perimeter defender. That definitely hurts. But you know bringing back. Rose needed to happen nerlens noel. Solidifies that backup center position. They're gonna have middle robinson next season. They didn't have them. So you know getting. Julius randle extension. Huge kemba walker. Big evan forty. I'm not liking it. But i'll still give the knicks abi plus i'll kim abi plus because they brought back some solid players that are going to be playing off. The bench broaden kemba walker who can be huge x. factor for this team and signing julius randle to a very solid valued extension. They're all big giving them a b. Plus maybe a little closer. To an eight minus. I gotta give the knicks credit on this offseason orlando magic. How man i know. They're relying a lot of their younger talent. They're going into a rebuild but signing robin lopez to one year. Five million dollar deal. What are you doing like you already got mogambo. Wendell carter junior. Why do you need another big. Like why do they keep doing this. You literally just got rid of busa. Vich she can free up space playing time for mogambo and window cartoonists. You can see what you got there and then you bring in a veteran. I know it's not a big deal. It's robin lopez. He's not a big player. But what's the point. And why would bribe. Like was his was his a market that bad that he had to go to a team that he's barely going to play for for only five million dollars. My god so i hated that move mobile mobile augmon for a two year deal. I think it's a veteran minimum contract. That's decent. I mean can play power forward. Shoot a bit but you know you're not really gonna see much there so i mean this was very very weird off season for the orlando magic. Not trying to do much. Not trying to contend for playoffs for the first time in ten seasons. So i just hate that robin lopez move. I gotta give it a c. minus. I'm not gonna go the territory but it's close. So i'll give them a c minus philadelphia. Seventy sixers bring danny green. Bring them back for a two year. Twenty million dollar contract solid value..

"So a few months ago my producer. Sophie and i went out to flushing queens to attend demonstration. Wow this is a lot of people here. it's like you can't even see the end or the beginning. it's it goes all the way up. Mainstream and flushing. The event was organized by this chinese. Spiritual group call following. And there were there to commemorate their persecution from the chinese communist party. We saw thousands of people wearing yellow and blue t shirts and there were holding massive banners. Set say things. Like the chinese communist party is the real virus of the world. This one says communism's ultimate goal. Destroy the human race so following all started back in china in the nineteen nineties and now they're practitioners all over the world. You might have seen the meditating in parks or you might have seen them at rallies like this one protesting the chinese communist party combatant then. We saw a group of anti following counter protesters. They were standing off to the side and they had their own banners and there were standing next to a bunch of street vendors and so we decided to go over and talk to one of them. Shouldn't there may what joie help alternative subject shirley temple. So he's he's he's a local community member. He's lived here for twenty years and his whole thing. Is you know following going there. They're liars in their Their huckster the controversial thing about following goal is not just that they speak out against the chinese communist party is that they have become increasingly influential in american politics as well because they're associated with one of the biggest platforms in the country that is publishing conspiracy. Theories and disinformation and that platform is called the epoch times. What is he a small newspaper. That spoke more money on trump facebook. Ads then amy organization outside the trump campaign. It sounds unbelievable. It's run by a group called found gone long religious that emphasizes on spinach china's government and falun gong to fight chinese propaganda with its own. So what is going on fellow. This is vice news reports. And i'm your host ariel. Tim roth's i'm t- you a reporter for vice news. Tt we're in the studio value joining me. It's amazing it's amazing to be out in person versa. So t t you've been reporting on falungong which i know is a religious movement so yeah during the height of the pandemic getting bombarded by my family with a lot of fake news articles about what About politics about the election about the pandemic in the beginning there was a lot of speculations about the vaccine and there was a lot of pro-trump material that was coming through. And i started to notice that a lot of them were associated with these two media networks was parked times and the other one was new tang dynasty television and i vaguely knew about them particularly with the epoch times because they used to publish articles mostly associated with china about inhumane chinese labor practices or religious persecution was another big topic and what i knew about them was that they were very anti china. Okay and so initially the epoch times is kind of digging into abuses in china very anti-chinese-communist party but like as you're reading them more recently in two thousand twenty or twenty twenty one. What kind of articles are you seeing. So you know. Their articles are pretty far right. It's on par with bright bar or newsmax and they're actually huge online. They have tens of millions of followers. So the paper really highlighted. Trump's stopped the steel campaign. Which as you know became the insurrection. January six all right. So they're similar to breitbart and other ultra conservative news outlets so what sets them apart. So what sets them apart. Is this marriage between anti-chinese communist party propaganda and socially conservative politics in the united states. The other thing to know about the epoch times is that they are connected to a chinese spiritual movement. Call follow angle now. It's important to know that following has always denied any connections with the epoch times but people we've interviewed told us that a lot of the former staff members follow members and a lot of the founders of these media networks were former fellow members. So how did the spiritual movement. That's i think still pretty obscure in the us start. This major news ellett so following started in the nineties in china and it started by this guy named louis holder. He was part of this. she going fad. That was happening in china at the time. "They've brought in some great people to do snacks initials. But then you can actually sit in the bank vault and drink which is a fun experience. They got some great staff. They're desmond's leading up the bar staff there and does a great job last one. They are super under the radar. But i feel like they've rotated through a couple of bartenders so they don't get as much love as they should get. But i love seldom standard. The food there. I think is always fresh. It's always on point. They have that beautiful very bright bar. You can sit in. They have a decent selection of tomorrow's always have a great selection of really good spirits Their cocktails tend to be very balanced. Nixed well refreshing and then they have a dusty bottle list as well which is not spirits wine and beer and there are some great stuff. That's on there. See my favorite. Dusty bottle is always at mr steve's place next to next to music venue a down in downtown mr st was like a ninety year old. Greek guy That every time we to can't Saint andrews hall stores the elephant room. "Deals. And secret corruption and he's our guest. I don't know that there's a worst case. Then, then Fredo Cuomo, Chris Cuomo on nightly on CNN and Andrew Cuomo, his brother, and you later find out that he's advising him that he's telling him what's going on, and CNN's giving the glowing coverage. I mean, this is this is third world dictatorship, level corruption and insider dealing. Passing itself off under the young Yug. Mom preferred me, Not you as people are dying sort of thing. I can't think of a worse example. Yes, a perfect example and the fact that they were literally yack Yack ng is I'm sure your eyes recalls when afraid. Oh, had those giant Q tips to make fun of the corona virus test, which would they scratch the back your brain with the Giants Cotton swab. On heat. Andrew on and Andrew, in the meantime, is letting all of these elderly people die in his nursing homes. And he's out there on CNN, joking with his Dumbo brother. It's so irritating, but it also cost lives. It's not a joke. It's not funny. The shocking thing about it, and this is where people need to get focused here. Particularly people would empower. Most of this appears to be legal, if not all of it in this is all soft money contributions on behalf of Democrats and makes it easier for Democrats to get elected. It means that there were fewer fewer consequences when Democrats do such a horrible job like the Andrew Cuomo does. In the public can accept this and it might involve changing the laws. It's certainly involves changing the lawmakers and voting out a lot of people who shouldn't be in there and are only there because the media shepherd them across the finish line. Should save this for the end of the interview, not normally would and I wouldn't wouldn't reserve enough time, so I want to make sure we get this in. I adored Andrew Bright. Bart got to know him pretty well. You were his first employee. It's been nine years since he passed. What is your fondest memory of him? And how much does America miss him today? Wow. American misses him so much, But thank goodness he was such a profound, uh, a conduit for his set of ideas and I in terms of a specific memory, I'll go a little broader. The thing that I love the most about Andrew and he had so many lovable characteristics, but the thing that I loved the most was he used to. He was a true populist. His roll index was so unbelievable it would blow your mind. It was it was Cabinet secretary senators, Every single person who's a superstar and talk radio. He was on a first name basis with all of them. Every major Internet editor. He was on a first name basis with all them. He would speak to all them the exact same way he would speak to you, a mom who would bring her dog wearing a American flag jumper to a key party or a guy with a tri corn hat who is a civil war reenactor who was just showing up one of his speeches. He would speak it everyone the exact same way he thought every American was worthwhile, and he one of their opinion on politics and the current affairs. And that populism, I think infuses the conservative movement today that we don't believe the elite are better than we are. We believe that our audience, our people, our readers of bright bar your listeners and my listeners and talk radio. That's what drives this country is not the elite. Alex Marlow is the editor in chief at Bright Bart. He's the author of Breaking The News Exploring. I'm sorry, exposing the establishment media's hidden deals and secret corruption. Just tie that word populism into your book. I think that there is among the Republican establishment The Bill Kristol crowd. This is where they have found comfort in bed with the Democrats in saying, I don't like this populism that has infused Republicans. And this is the reason I think we won in 2016 is Trump brought a populism into the party that it hadn't seen in a while. The Reagan the Reagan Democrats. I think we're sort of some of that. But this idea that the everyman no longer felt out of place. And the warmongering bowtie wearing country Club Republican Party and now they felt that here was a party in a man and people that were speaking out for them, and the media really hates this crowd of people, doesn't it? Media absolutely loves them, and I'm glad you brought up Bill Kristol because he's a perfect example of one of the rules for deciphering the media I have in the book and I've got a small section. Am I encouraged people the staff a picture with their phone. Where you actually see the rules that you can use when you're watching a segment on CNN or reading an article in The New York Times. You see all these tricks they use to get their narrative into the article, and one of the things they do is they love to elevate Republican to trash other Republicans. This is one of their favorite archetypes, an establishment media and it's part of the theater that they do to put to put their point across. And this is why Bill Kristol has a big platform today is not that anyone is dying for Bill Kristol's ideas. Well, we all have Bill Kristol Fever after 25 years of watching him get bad takes on television. Now it's because Bill current Bill Kristol is used to hurt the America first. Populist nationalist movement that is guiding Republican politics Right now, that's what it's about. And that's why the elevator the Lincoln Pedophile project. I mean, you look at how much they were on CNN. You look at how much the left prop them up. Nobody. Nobody on the right like them, And yet they were talked about as influential Republicans. They're useful idiots. We've seen some folks at National Review of David French has made himself one of these and they cloak it as while he's a veteran, and he's this and he's a conservative and he's criticizing, and and the only thing they ever seemed to criticize. Is the rank and file average everyday, blue collar worker that doesn't subscribe to their elevated opinion of themselves. Yeah, And this book takes a lot of shots of people like that, for example, Um, you got Hugh Hewitt, who's Who's a talk show house who criticized the Covington.

"Blue. Follow him Right now. Senior technology correspondent for bright bar dot com Alan Bacary is the author off Hash tag deleted. Everybody needs to read it. If you don't understand how much of a threat to our freedoms Big tech is, you've got to read hashtag deleted, but Let's give them a little little tease. I think they call it in the trade alum. As the person who wrote this book whose delve into these issues, shall we? That's something that shocked even you when you did the research for hashtag deleted. Well, what struck me was this realization that you no censorship goes way beyond just blocking one or two people kicking off one or two people. Ah, big tech platforms have the power to suppress and amplify entire networks of people. There's actually a field. You can look it up called Network analysis. And it's how these tech platforms detect different groups of people that used to use it for marketing. You know, detecting the network's up. You know, people would like to buy sneakers or things like that. But they're going to take political networks as well. So when one person networking and say like a very big That's like Donald Trump. That affects everyone who was following that user tweeting similar things tweeting similar links about similar issues on it lowers their hidden score. Everyone has a hidden score on Twitter on Google on Facebook, which determines where you going to repair and search rankings on dawn on people's use. Think school's score that only the corporation can see. Yes, it's very similar to the Chinese social credit score, actually, because the more you defy Silicon Valley's progressive values below your schoolgirls, yes, by the way, the communist Chinese social media social credit school, So if that's the case, and we are conservatives, and they're clearly messing with the First Amendment with the not just the freedom of speech, this new phrase they have this all William Freedom off reach of an individual. Shouldn't we eyes that they catch 22 for us? Allan, that is conservatives. We don't really favor government intervention. We don't like to see the heavy hand of the state come in, and to skew the market into another direction to pick winners and losers. But are we had a point where it just has to happen? Not just in terms of regulation, but potentially breaking up these companies. How do you Aziz, Libertarian Blue. How do you balance that tension? Well, The funny thing about my Twitter handle is I haven't been a libertarian for a long time. But if you change your Twitter handle, you lose your verified SEC Mark, which unfortunately is quite important if you want to avoid that sort of search engine and a new speed, hidden censorship. So it's actually a board so I can't change that. But I will say, you know, no one wants, like, you know, bureaucracy picking and choosing what companies can and can't do. That's that's a bit on that that could easily be corrupted as well. But I think you know Clarence Thomas gets to the heart of the issue, which is, you know, these companies have become kind of like public utilities, and we've got the situation developing in America were not just tech companies, but all kinds of corporations believe they can discriminate against people in the bear. Is it bare political viewpoint? So I think there has to be a massive Was about how the way these corporations are regulated. On the grounds on which they're able to cut off service to people because we can't have a situation developing where we have second class citizens on the basis of their politics. You intimated in a prior segment here in America first, that One side the Democrats site actually, once more censorship, Mork control over the freedom of speech of their fellow Americans. On the other side, the Republican Party May have hearings. They do Rasputin appears we see. You know, we see Jack Dorsey. We see the robotic Mark Zuckerberg, but they're nothing ever happens. Nothing ever changes. So are we just condemned to be more and more sense it I think probably for the moment. Yes, because you don't have that majority in Congress that can do anything about it. I mean, yeah, the Republicans hold hearings. They write letters. That's really all they can do, because the votes aren't there to change the regulation at the moment on D No, That's probably a good thing, because if the Democrats have majority there just like push for punishments on these tech companies to force them to censor even more kind of content. Where do you stand on this big question? The president said that he's got a new social media platform Ready, ready to drop. One of our good sponsors are body, Mike Lindell said his new frank speech platform will be deployed in about a week's time. Should we boycott the existing platforms that were already on his conservative? Or is it a multiplicity that we should be aiming for? I think you should be on his many platforms as possible. You know you don't want exclude yourself on Twitter or Facebook, because that's where you can go to, like talk to normal people. People who are undecided who are on the fence, and you know if you exclude yourself on the platform, you're giving the Democrats a huge advantage in terms of persuading undecided voters. That's why I need extras buttons, but it's very, very good at all. These alternatives are developing big because Think conservative because of all the fender ship they're facing are gonna get extremely good at like moving from different platforms organized on different platforms. They'll become much more adept at it than progressive that I'll give them a big advantage. Going forward. We've only got a minute left without number card is senior technology correspondent for Bright bob dot com, the author of Hashtag Deleted. It's not a half a glass half full, is it Yeah, I think we're getting to the point where more and more influential and powerful people around the world realize that the power of Silicon Valley is out of control and needs to be reined in. Even the Socialist president of Mexico has turned this into a big issue. He's promised to raise it at the next international summit. So I think you're going to see other countries around the world countries. You may not even expect that saying, Look, we set the rules. "Oh, hey, what's gonna happen with the media now there? I mean, this is the most fake news. For instance, Biden cancels the pipeline 10,000 people out of work. If this were anybody else wouldn't the reporters be finding they do interviews with the workers put out of work Put them on the year notice. There's no coverage of this. No, The media is really bad. I was hoping it would and I don't know. Maybe there's still There's still time for this, but knowing some members of the off the fake media on basket, I've asked, um, at least smart and honest. Um Reporter friends of mine about various outrages. I mean, the big 11 big recent one. Let me put it that way was a complete ban on information about Hunter Biden before the election. Take news. Big news. This isn't true. Big news. This is just some crank at a computer store. And then after the election, we find out Oh, yeah, It's all true. The FBI has an investigation going on. I mean, that should be very embarrassing for for anything. Any entity that refers to us itself as a news gathering source. It wasn't just they weren't reporting. If they were they were censoring it. Um, you know, deleting tweets that mentions this investigation or believe Investigation on Dad. At least some of my reporter friend said, No, it was just it was all about Trump. Once he's gone, we'll go back to normal will be honorable again. I don't think we really seen it yet. But but I do think that is a huge problem for democracy. Bright bar daily caller Twitter, your Your Twitter feed. It's out there. But all of those, all of those news sources are terrified of being the platform. If only Trump had just done something about that. Oh, here she goes again. Now you saw that time magazine piece about this cub, all of big tech fake news unions all got together to tilt the election. How do we know that's not gonna be around forever? That group? I mean, how do we undo that? Well, the Twitter headlines on the article. We're not quite what it was saying, Um, um itwas At least this is what the article was saying. I'm not saying this is what the truth is A supposed What you just said was that it was a group of people to ensure the integrity of the election that people would get their ballots. And that mail mail in ballots wouldn't be prevented from being sent it. I mean, I think they're two major problems about elections going forward. One is, um, about 70% of Republicans, and on one of them think there was massive cheating in this election? No, I don't think it was enough. It would be an awful lot teach Angel the results of the election. That's one problem number two. Mail in ballots, not only the fraud associated with it, but it's just it's a weird way to do an election to just blanket the nation with these ballots. So I do think there should be and no one seems to be talking about this eight, genuinely nonpartisan commission friend two years if you want. They did it with Florida examine the results of the election, and I think Republicans number one goal going forward should be to end mail in ballots you got I agree. I hate to say we're out of time.
