Great about humanity. Everything great about what I talk about every morning kinda get your weekend off now. Yes, it's far iday in the most positive way possible is down here right outside of Lewisburg Virginia at liberty university. So we have a great I got tell you about it so spectacular. I'll dot headline news for you and not even feel like going there. But I will because that's my responsibility, Albert Ashir. A Frankie five boroughs took off. We don't know where he is. But we will check that out. But how's the? Brian Zagan is producing for us. We got a great show marks around who's gonna join us talk about the twenty twenty Donald Trump campaign and liberty university, and what's happening down here at liberty Jeffey lines gonna tell you what fills you want to see former congressman David brat is here. He is the current June of the liberty University School of business. You know, James Carroll's your James cows director of the US office of national drug count control policy. What's going on with the opioid epidemic? How are we approaching in this country under the Donald J Trump administration will be talking about that in the nine o'clock hour as well president of liberty university. Jerry foul junior will join us so very very pleased that Mr President will be here. And so we're excited about that in Dr a Dan Hsu Meyer is Dr Dan, you might we're playing with the if you hear judgments here, and they were just trying to get everything. Right. So it goes up to New York handily. Dr Dan Schumer, invented the tweet that tweak thing man, we're going to be dug into Dr Dan in the nine o'clock hour as well. And you phone calls always at eight seven seven. Nine seven twenty nine ninety nine lot to get into a great twenty four hours and some really wild things coming up. You always there's always one thing the news that bothers us. Right. When we watch the news, right? It's like why? Why would we talked about it yesterday and someone called yesterday? And it was great that it goes Neil that called yesterday and talked about the New York dams are of blocking the Bill expanding college tuition for gold star families after approving twenty seven million two wishing for illegal immigrants, and the, you know, how do they wait is this? It's not this story is today. Breaking is the the Trump administration was do something with sanctuary cities in release something that Washington Post story that I'm I don't even acknowledge today. Because of my mind is always just fake news coming out of the post or some other of the mainstream media. This is how what is going on with New York. And we have all the folks on the radio here. That are in the assembly in the Senate in state of New York who really makes sense a lot of the time. And in some of them are Democrats as well that make a lot of how what's with the fantasize that's happening with with all that they're letting go New York, not to mention something on a much less than Oprah congestion pricing just to constantly taxes. An every move we make not helping the homeless who are these people who are these people that would say gold star families whose parents put their lives on the line for the feet of you. And I so we can have our freedoms and people could come into this country. And celebrate America they can't get any college help. But but the illegal immigrants can I just do not. I just don't understand exactly how that happens, and why that happens in in New York. We're like losing New York. I it just seems so and so there's a lot of stuff to get into that. We're gonna talk about you know, the autism rates in New Jersey skyrocketed. And I don't know why that is happening. But that in the do, you blame older parents, can you blame older parents for that? I said is that is that what that is? So we'll get into that. And I got to tell you. Of course. Now, you get a coffee spell while we go on the air. And I thank God Alice here at I know what's going to happen. We have air conditioning here and Albert to be taking to the airwaves by buddy. So of course, of course, the reopening of dying here, I go. This is why I go to the doctor that charges me seven hundred dollars an hour. Charging a little too much. I take an everything. Everything for the allergies. Allergies in Virginia. Guys. We know allergies every junior. So it's me. So now, I've got I had to take the effort. I took another spray in the history spray. I took every drug known to man that is legal. Thank you very much. And that and now I to go on stage. We have to do a whole set later. We do the whole set theatre later is going to be like a whole thing. So this you go really really well. And they go to the doctor. You gotta take this take that take you know, what you know, you got nothing. Balance of nature's the only thing that seems to be working out. Hey, how you doing this forty eight? How are you? It's the best you you wouldn't leave here if he came down. What would make you tranquil? I'm telling you. I didn't make all yeah. It would make the tool mice tranquil. You would come down, and you would come. It's so nice. It's so peaceful. It's so loving. I got I got a Livia got Mikey. With me, we came down here, and we and hetero work as well is going to be up here with me today when we go through this whole convocation straight man, and Mark Sarana who's gonna be on the show. We'll tell you all about it. But holy moly. They got everything is brand new at liberty university. Everything is so nice to it. So maybe maybe too friendly for you, though, you like little attitude. Right. No. I mean, some attitude is okay. But I like friendly friendly skirts. Very nice, always always very very calm. So I gotta tell you what I'm doing. And then we'll break I'm looking at the news, nothing breaking that. I'm missing right out or Brian. You let me know nothing. Just the so say it so we come down and out with doing is like a convocation call, right? They do a prayer badgen that prayer in a college that I'm like excited about that. I know so we going, and it's going to be ten thousand kids and it's in their basketball arena. This is as glorious university as you're going to see and you go in and we did a rehearsal yesterday. So I'm going to be up, and they do little interview with with pastor David Nassar. We're gonna do an interview back and forth and show some clips because the kids can say Joe Piscopo the first question where they walk in. And so Dave is gonna walk pester David's gonna walk me through it. Then we'll do some bits bits like like showman, and they do like two or three these week, right guys. Rich comedian Louis, it's an Italian name. Are you Italian? No talion down here. Okay. Well, you today with us so Louis. Nice to have you enrich. Thank you for being here. So then I go up and now I go. Well, what else can I do? Can I bring can I bring a Michael with me with the thought? Yes. Michael Jordan Marshall amp Albert both the Marsh lane. He's playing a little tunes. And then a Lydia is gonna. Sing it for ten thousand people this morning come on. Now is this great now. So we can have a little entertainment little fund than had their worst gonna talk. So I'm very very excited. And it's all about everything that's good about the country. You know, there's about as one nation under God. And everything that I talked about every single morning. So it's it'd be very very exciting. That will be happening. Probably in the actually, you know, what I gotta go right after the show going right over there. Right out states have right. That's great. That's great kids will enjoy it. It'll be a lot of fun Albert. You know what I don't? I take them when I can. But Unum always on the road. I said to Mike Mike, you gotta come trying to teach Mike had to be like show business guy. You got this is the road you fly. You hit you go you rehearse he's so into it. And he's got all the equipment settled the equipment get everything running running. And they're really wanted to go. Now win is it when your kids want to go at you? Right. But the Jaguars they're missing school. Come on. Go. Get carried away. I got a note. I got to know this is technically a college his own listen this, then he said this public school. Oh, no. It's not we got. I got a nice note from liberty university. Mikey can go to college to look at the college. She's in tenth grade, they go no doesn't qualify because he's in tenth grade God forbid, they should say, okay for the future, you know. So now, but you know, they will let them out for work some say, all right? Well, he's he's a hired. He's is a gig that agape, then we're gonna get a note that say when he was working here. It's like difficult Catholics. I don't understand that. So in tenth grade, you're not allowed to go. Look at a college. I swear to goodness gracious. They said that that. That. No, we're they want to go. And maybe they want to go look at night. The new can't start soon enough baby. I know it's so they and liberty said they sent a nice note. So I said. Geico. Nope. Sorry. Sorry. It's going to be work. It's gotta be worth. So I hired the job what I'm going to tell you. And I guess just takes because she's an eighth grade. But I I mean, we should be so lucky so and so funny here, and I speak to you as as the parents grandparents set are kind enough to listen, I'm bringing down we've got friends down there bringing their kids down world doing a whole big tour of liberty university. Can't say enough about I'll be talking about it all morning. It's great. And I'm gonna take the guys that beautiful radio studios here. And it's really it's.

"I see Brian Zagan starring Brian. What's going on there? Brian you come in. If you wanna come in you look troubled what's going on? Come on come on. What is what's on your mind? Take seat there. Bryan. You're you're starting about in the in the no not at all not at all. Know what what do you use that microphone? If you why I found out there, filming a movie, and it's apparently starting at six this morning. They started filming a movie. So as a result there blocking parking around here for about forty blah. You know, I have the toughest time parking was late this morning. I got your normal time. And I'm usually a Myrtle tell ya. I usually walk in here to the studio at least an hour lay. I couldn't find parking anywhere. I was circling blocks, and blocks and blocks. It was I think my spot is only questionably legal. I wouldn't be surprised if I get back there. And I'm told I'd be afraid that either put at the very least they put cones around your car at the worst. They may have told it. So she's Mashego check on what movie, hopefully, it's a movie at least worth seeing all the name on the sign and I completely subsequently forgotten era. Well, where did you end up parking? I've worked all the way down by the water. Oh boy. Oh, I know you had you had a hike. It was a pain. For your concern. Frank you. Yeah. I'm glad you're doing. Okay. All right. All right. Well, that's Brian's egg. And you can you can hear him from time to time on this program and filling in for me. All right. We'll take a couple of quick calls here. And then we'll do commendations eight seven seven nine seven zero two nine Merck and Brian both doing a great job each and every weekend. Let me say Hello to William in Westchester. Hello, William good morning. Frank at part of the answer as far as the hostility to Russia. I strongly suspect is that the Democrats loved Russia was communist, and they hate it. Now that it's Christian, you know, that wouldn't be easy to understand. But it's not accurate. Bill Clinton, absolutely loved Boris Yeltsin and bar and a Bill Clinton e went out of his way to make sure Boris Yeltsin got reelected, and he meddled and our government metals and interfered in that Russian election and inserted millions of dollars in order to make sure that Boris Yeltsin got real. Elected. So it's not as simple as that. But there's a lot more to within that eight seven seven nine seven zero two nine nine nine hour is in Manhattan. Hello. Good morning. Great interview with Bobby, right? De LA earlier. Thank you, my friend. Appreciate it. I just wanted to make a comment. More. Question. But I wonder what next. The New York state. Prosecutors are acting like the. Supreme court so to speak. Under or they're going to go after now that they're kicked off results. The results of the more. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Well, you don't have to wonder right because we already see what what the Manhattan DA is done Sivan's. He's indicted, Paul Manafort now Tisch James, she's look attorney general she's looking at the the Trump organization in the southern district US attorneys. They've issued subpoenas for Alan wiser Burg they've interviewed. They've issued subpoenas for David pecker of American media. So they're just getting started. But you know, it's funny. I was saying this to someone the other night. My friend Bill Cortez. Actually, he could see on Newsmax this afternoon at one o'clock. And you know, I was saying, you know, I'm concerned about all these other investigations he said in terms of the eyes of the public the Muller probe. Really? I think is the one I think he's right about this that really came to define the whole Trump investigation and the rest of it all sort of sorts of be sort of becomes white noise at this point in some respects. I think Donald Trump I kind of becomes like John Gotti. And I'm not saying that they're both mob bosses. Even though there are so many of the president's critics that try to draw that comparison, that's not the case. After John Gotti beat the government three times. People started rooting for him. Now think about crazy that is John Gotti was a gangster and killer all these hardworking middle class New Yorkers around the city. Are working hard. They're paying their taxes going to work every day getting up at six AM five thirty AM. And so many of them are rooting for John Gotti. Why because they saw how obsessed these investigators were with getting Gotti. I think in some respects the same can be said of Donald Trump. These folks are so obsessed with getting Trump that is actually a backlash against the investigation self thanks for the call eight seven seven nine seven zero two nine nine nine. I do wanna get to denunciation excuse me. I want to get the combination. We'll take two more calls here. And then we'll then we'll move on. Brian is in my hometown of Staten Island. Hello, brian. Franken while you listen to that gentleman who just minutes ago who said. The reason why they're there against Putin so much because he's anticommunist and pro questioning you said, it's not that simple. I say exactly that. Well, then how do you explain Bill Clinton's support for Boris Yeltsin? How do you explain how? Bright, bright, bright. Party Clinton any longer. Frank. Then why in the twenty twelve presidential election? When Mitt Romney said that Russia was our number one enemy, Barack Obama. Well, of course, he's an idiot. But we that goes without saying, but why did Brock Obama not say, you know, what governor around. You're right. Why did he push back and disagree with with with Ryan couldn't agree? This is politics is and this is a Democratic Party. That is no longer the party of Bill Clinton. Uncooperative? Very very bad people. And and I agree with that gentleman a hundred and ten. I think. Because of that. Well, I think you have to listen to the interview with Stephen Cohen because I don't think it's that simple because they all embraced Putin, including Chuck Schumer. Remember, you had Putin to the gas station in Manhattan Lukoil gas station. He bought him a crispy cream donuts. And now they're against Pook. It's more to it than simply that the fact that he's anti-communist there's more to within that there is. And I don't think that Democrats are bad people. Just because they're Democrats. I saw my best friends are Democrats. Some my family are democrat. They're wonderful people. They disagree politically with you doesn't make them bad people. You know, we can all have whatever politics we want. I do not think the reason that our government is anti Putin is because he's an anti-communist because so much so many Putin's greatest critics are Republicans who was the number one biggest critic of Putin who was the one that call them a thug and a killer. John mccain. Lindsey Graham Mitt Romney John Bolton, Mike Pompeo, Nikki Haley, these are Republicans. So it's much more to it than the fact that he's an anti-communist take one other call here, then we'll get to commendations vow is in Manhattan. Hello val. Listen about the criminal Justice issue. Look when I was mugged I was marked by two guys one ran away one St. and he my head a couple of times, really odd. I had a concussion on the side of my net. Look the court gave them ninety days in jail turns out to sky repeat offender, he was he was attacking anybody whose transgender anyone and he got four four priors. He went right back to jail for attacking a gay guy. I mean, you know, when is this going to end when it went to the people who were the victims going to be able to have some peace. Yeah. That's a fine question. Val. And it's not a question. I can answer eight seven seven nine seven zero two nine nine nine combination snacks for wedding, wisdom and just a moment with Moreno AM nine seventy theanswer. It's amazing. But true when it comes to one of America's biggest household expenditures health care, a lot of people think they've got no choice. People used to thinking we have to do it this way. But they don't. It's very bizarre because it looks like that. Apparently rod sterling didn't expect to participate in this season. Two thousand eighteen across New York City over AM nine seventy the answer. am970theansweRcom cigarettes from what merchants told me is on the board once again on this late Thursday night and early Friday morning. And yes, there was there was a Thursday night NFL game played that ended just a short time ago. I guess and yes, as is usually the case. Deano didn't see a second of the action. And I know this because I asked him before it hit the air here this evening. Yeah. I can wait. I can more than wait for my next round of watered down NFL football. Once again this coming Sunday. Afternoon. And for whatever it's worth, by the way in case you missed it. The league said that there's gonna be no changes to the grievously bad. Roughing the passer rules that we have all come to criticize including NFL players over the last couple of weeks. So we we have that to look forward to once again. This coming weekend. A by the way, speaking of football locally, I feel the jets should make a claim and pick up a recently released the restored Matthews the wide receiver that the the the titans just cut, and they should then hand the twig Robbie Anderson has his walking papers as well. I'm feeling better tonight off last night, as you know rested. The cords drank a little bit more t had some chicken soup stayed in bed. Got the fever to come down. So I'm not at one hundred percent capacity. But I'm a heck of a lot better than I was at twenty four hours ago with. At this time all the way to free A M. Jacob degrom. What is on my mind this evening, so many things I guess my goodness has won the aforementioned Jacob degrom has won the National League Cy Young award. And I tell you this weeks before the award is going to be officially presented to him. What about the Yankees? Their magic number is now only one after they trounced the Tampa Bay rays yesterday afternoon taking care of business very nicely down at that the hideous dole in in Saint Petersburg taking three of four from the race taking care of business. The CC Sobat the elect is Mark on that game by not taking any Gulf from Tampa little bean ball on going on in that game Yanks now two full games have Oakland in the race for the homefield in the wildcard game and only a total collapse by the Yankees. That's coupled with open winning their remaining games is going to prevent the from hosting that game next Tuesday. What else is on my mind the evening there is so much. I guess of the Mets getting back to them. They beat the Braves last night at the. Well, the ballpark in queens. Jason Vargas pitched his best game of the season the seven shutout innings from Lee the veteran left-hander there gave the Mets kind of an outing. They had hoped for all season long to be fair to Vargas he was abominable in the first half of the season pitch, much, better the second half. So. Wacky with a home run measure Rocco with a three run Homer. And I did see checking the box score the Jeff McNeil with a rare hitless game. From the batsman we found out yesterday. If you like most of the nation was riveted to the TV screens with the. What the hilarity? And the the disgrace going down in Washington DC, one of the things we found out that the Brett Kavanagh is an Orioles fan. Just thought I'd mention how to spent a rough season for the Kavanagh's. The Baltimore Orioles, of course, and the book show, Walter no doubt is entering his final. Few days is final weekend. As the the Orioles manager. You did not speaking of managers that Mickey Callaway John Ricco who says even though he's the point person. I guess as far as baseball operations for the Mets is concerned that John Ricco says that he has no the question No reason to believe that. The Mickey Callaway is gonna be coming back next season for the Mets as Ricca was quoted in the papers the other day saying this, and so we'll have to see, of course. But I guess Ricco is is involved and has the same. He he's gonna want Calloway. Back this season. Speaking of a guy who lead New York based franchises. The Todd Bowles says that whoever stated then talked about this the other night whoever stated that he's taking defensive playcalling duties over from his defensive coordinator. Casey Rogers is is flat out wrong. And nothing changes in that regard. According to the coach bowls heading into Sunday's game. The jets in Jacksonville. What else is on your mind? Mr dino. Oh, there's this. And I don't know if you saw it. I don't know if you saw it. But after forty five years. HBO HBO has decided to get out of the boxing business. Did you see this? I'm not sure this is in fact, I I know it's not good news for boxing, snuck. Good for boxing fans of since. I feel HBO always did a very nice job in presenting the very best in what I'll refer to as pugilist entertainment, but they does sound as reading over the press release today. Kind of sounds like HBO is going to be pivoting into more of I guess what you can call the sports docu-dramas, and and things of that sort. I'm not happy about this. Since about like said HBO has always been a great platform for this nine sport has always been synonymous with boxing, the HBO, not doing boxing, something kind of feels wrong in my way of thinking about that. Even you know, if boxing is a mess a garbage dumpster of a sport with ninety three different champions, the representing one hundred seven different organizations and the heavyweight division that has been deader than dead. For well too, many years. But then again, you know, for a lot of people such as myself, the boxing's relevance is also often tied to which passed not its present nor its future its former glory more than anything that truly captures the imagination. Within today's the contemporary times, the lack of charisma within the sports. The fact that boxing has major identity issues the fact that the sport is widely unavailable to too many people with most of what are considered the marquee events that are relegated to pay per view events with the monster price tags that are attached to them that many people won't budge on boxing CD characters. Shady individuals. And while listen, here's here's an indication of where boxing is the most the most recent triple g and and Canelo Alvarez fight. It had some buzz to it. But all you need to do to consider boxing. Sad plight is to acknowledge that the most buzz boxing has generated over the last few years featured about between a raining all time champion and an opponent who makes his living in something called UCF for you have see or the mixed martial arts, or whatever they call that human cockfighting sport these days. I mean, the sport as been dying on the vine for years and years and years and decades and decades in the past you had young athletes interested in the sport, they would hone their skills at various intercity boxing, gyms different kinds of boxing clubs and today's youth. They seem to be more interested in joining a local gang. It would seem. Cosell passed away all those years ago. And my friend Bert sugar a great resource of boxing through the years. He passed away a few years ago as well they stopped with the fifteen round fights a longtime ago, unfortunately and Silvester Stallone stop making movies about rocky, thankfully, some time ago. Jake Lamade is dead. So was Ali Ken Norton. Larry Holmes was perhaps the heavyweights last great champion. L boxing is is is now up the I'm sad about this with HBO. But at the same time, I understand the realities of of the presentation situation boxing is now a passing sport whose time has come and gone. And so in retrospect, even though I'm saddened by HBO getting out of the boxing game that maybe HBO was right to bow out of the the fight game at at this point in time. So I I guess that's just about what I've got to say about all of that. I don't know. What else you want me to talk to you about tonight my friends? I mean, I could mention that. I did see that the former radio host. Craig kortan. Who knows very little about sports? Even less about hosting a compelling radio program. Did you see he received a bit of bad news yesterday? If the story in the New York Post is to be believed. I read this with interest that the some former associate of cartons of the revealed to a Manhattan federal judge that he routinely paid off gambling. That's by using other people's money. More than five hundred thousand dollars to pay off cartons debts. I think in the end this is this is all gonna show that the carton. Well, overplayed his hand in this situation. From afar, it would appear as though we should have cut a deal. His trial is scheduled to commence in late October. And I would take the carton is probably looking at an extended pitstop and some the federal penitentiary shortly thereafter, before, of course, she is. According to his own words released or maybe beats the rap, and then you know, dozens and dozens of New York radio stations are going to be waiting outside his holding facility. Contracts in hand and begging. Carton to come and work for them. So there's that. The giants, of course, their home for the saints this Sunday. And as I told you on the show when I was last with you the giants have a good chance to win this game. So far as I'm concerned nary a piece in the newspapers this week. Not once have I sensed any fabricated the ignorant outrage from some giants football fans who don't have a clue. In regard to manning this week leading up to the the game against the saints. And I did see that the VA Vernon and the other Eli apple both practicing this week. And the hope is that they're gonna play. In the game. This Sunday against the saints. One else is going on Dino talk to us baby. Tell us what's on your mind. Fill our heads with commentary opinion information be entertaining. Be compelling be interesting. The nets the Knicks. Both bouncing basketballs and training camp is another NBA season nears. That's good. Then we're only a few days away from the start of another NHL season at that goodness for that. All down here. I understand. Yes. That the the Rams beat the Vikings in the game last night. And of course, the only reason I know this is because I see it on the computer screen in front of me and the based upon what I see I guess the Jared Goff at a very nice night for the Rams. And I guess what? Now with the victory. Los Angeles remains undefeated, the Rams are now foreign oh, they are the lone undefeated team in the NFC. And there were what? Now, there are the two teams. In the AFC that are still spotless to this point the the dolphins. And the chiefs are both at three and four this. Young season. What else that David Wright? His mets. And baseball swan song is this coming Saturday night. They'll sell the join out in queens, and the price of tickets have been jacked up through the roof. I'm personally unmoved by this. Meaning that meaning the David Wright the swan song and then yes. Listen, I'm aware that most likely in the minority for saying so, but I've never been a huge David Wright fan. And so oh, and then there's this as you all know, I can't forget to mention this. The army black knights football team played their tails off last Saturday, and why you should know..

"Does this now on September twenty six twenty thousand eighteen across New York? And it's my job to tell you what I think about things, and I I guess I can do that. By the way, the cigarette is not feeling too. Well tonight, so. He's got the night off in a well-deserved one. That's serving as the show's producer on board operator tonight as the very talented, Brian Zagan. And we're glad to have him all the way until three a m the Yankees they keep doing what has to be done. They. When again a few hours ago in Tampa against the raise. I'm sure I'm gonna get into all of that Sanchez with a home, run Severino. Look pretty good while it appeared here in New York. A crowd of what was it about one hundred people or so? Was at the ballpark in queens on this rainy evening to take in the Mets seven three loss to the to the Braves. No wind up Noah Syndergaard was pretty good through six innings for the Mets. The arson squad came out of the bullpen and the Braves ended up winning that game. And you don't hate speaking of the Mets, the let me start here seldom do I know when I go into any show that idea where I'm going to start what I'm gonna talk about. It's very excellent rainiest free flowing organic sort of show is, you know, it's not regiment that I don't know what I'm going to be talking about until I get to it. And most nights I come out of the box. Like, I really don't have an idea of what I'm going to be talking about really I just mentioned the Mets. And that leads me in the direction of thinking about something not so much the Mets game itself. Few hours go against the Braves, the long ago, of course, the wins and losses with the Mets the became pretty much inconsequential to measure now, but rather the interesting tidbit the interesting news in this game. So far as I'm concerned. Was something that was said or maybe a better way to put it something that was not said. In the Mets broadcast booth. The broadcast with of course, with the Gary and Keith and Ron that was profiled recently profiled up in New York Times magazine story, but it's not the New York Times magazine story so much which if you didn't read it I urge you to do. So because it was a pretty compelling piece. But it's what was reported earlier in the day on the daily news website. By sports media columnist. Bob race men that caught my attention. And I'll tell you what I'd love to know what Bob Richmond might be thinking right about now race, man. If you didn't see it had a story on the website. Of the news yesterday afternoon. And in the story Raisch men says that Ron darling. Would be interested in the Mets general manager position. If if the Mets approached him to talk about it if the Mets wanted to talk the darling about it. Darling said to race men in the story that you can find it right now on the new York Daily News the website in the in the sports section. Here's what race man said in the story, darling. Told him quote, I gotta right here in front of me. Here's what darling sets arrangement, quote, I would be disingenuous. If I didn't say that if someone wants to sit down with me and talk about putting a team together. I would absolutely take that meeting. Not only that not only the darling say that arrangement. But according to raise my doling also said this in the story, quote, I know a lot of things would have to change with my family to take that task on. But everyone who loves the game wants a chance to put a team together. And I'm no different. I would prefer that being general manager to managing a team the day-to-day stuff involved in managing would not be my favorite. But the behind the scenes stuff. I would be more qualified for those personal relationships away from the field. Now, interestingly and plans to get the two last night. I briefly mentioned it at the top of of last night's show. But unfortunately, I never got back around to talking about it again last night. Joel Sherman, very fine. Baseball columnist with the New York Post floated Darling's name as a potential candidate for the position. If the Mets wanted to sorta go outside the box, perhaps consider Ron darling. After I saw that story by Joel Sherman. I tweeted immediately I posted the story. And then I tweeted that I you know, I can actually be talked into. Potentially darling as the Mets general manager. So I guess that race men upon seeing that Sherman piece in the post that a pretty smart thing by approaching darling. Who's going to be working, by the way, if you didn't know the wildcard playoff game between the Yankees and the athletes. Raisch men went to darling seeking some clarification any s darling point blank if he'd be interested in the gig. So I already read to you darling pulled Bob race men yet when I'm watching the game last night, I'm flipping back between the Mets and the Yankees. You could call me blown away to here darling with words that seemed to throw Bob Rae Schmidt clear onto a bus, and he refuted every single word. He said to race men in the race men piece earlier in the day and the New York Post, by the way, I just checked about ten minutes ago before the show went on the air. The New York Post has the story on their website. Currently right now, here's what darling said on the Mets Braves game on S N Y last night that just finished a short time ago. Gary Cohen as darling if he had an interest in the Mets general manager's position. And here's how darling responded he said, quote, I don't. I have three jobs. I worked for three different networks. I don't have time to work as a general manager, nor do I have probably the skills to do it. So folks all just be between these two guys meaning Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez for as long as I can do it. Now, look. I have no reason to believe nor should anyone. I think that Bob arrangements simply made up the quotes printed and his story yesterday afternoon. So what gives here? What gives it would appear as though Ron darling. After speaking to race race meant prince the story. You don't have time for it. You have three jobs. I probably don't have the skills to do it. They go back to what he said to race, man. I know a lot of things would have to change my family to take that task on. But everyone who loves the game the wants a chance to put team together. I'm no different. I would be more qualified for those personal relationships away from the field and then on television last night on us. And why I I don't want the job. I prob- I probably don't have the skills to do it. And so what I say what gives her that? Would why would he vehemently deny Ron darling? Everything he told race men in his story casting doubt along the way as to the authenticity of the race men. Peace. Darling. Get cold feet did Jeff wilpon tell him to keep his mouth shut the darling have a change of heart in only a few hours. And if he did that's fine. I guess people can change their minds. How many times have we said something and had four or five hours later. We thought about it a little bit more thinking on it than the we we change your mind. But if he did change his mind, here's where I have a prop. Don't you think that darling should've clarified in a way that didn't make race men story appear that he fashioned out of thin air? I mean couldn't have darling. Could he have not done a bit of editorializing and said something to the effect of, you know, well, you know, I I did speak to someone about this just a few hours ago. And during that discussion, I did say I have an interest in the job, but between then and now, you know, the further thinking on this. I don't think I'd want the job. No, do I think I can do the job. Now that in my way of thinking, I don't know about you. But in my way of thinking that would have been a classy thing to do instead of answering the question in a way that brings any second guessing to the race peace now. I mean, come on. That's just really blew me away. I mean, why why would darling do that cognizant had to be aware? Obviously was aware of the fact that somebody approached him from the New York sports media earlier in the day. And asked him about this compelled to ask them about it, no doubt because of the Sherman piece in the New York Post. He tells race men one thing, and then completed as no it was never said only a few hours before the telecast last night. Just squashes the race peace and makes race men. Look stupid in the process. And if you know anything about Bob Richmond, say what you want care if you like them you love them. You hate them, whatever racial good journalist. So did the whole thing just is is very very odd. Very puzzling. To me, why darling would say what he said. So anyway, the show is on the way all the way till free. Maybe I'll get back to this. My my voice seems to be getting a little bit better. As I continue to try to stave off this cold this virus. Whatever the hell it is. It's tack my system. But the the show must go on. I said before that the Yankees are doing what they've gotta do. And and they really are. I mean, this is these are big time games. These were pressure. Sorts of games that the Yankees are playing there on the road during a place where they really don't like to play. I don't know anybody who really likes to play in that in that facility. I guess it's not a ballpark. It's I guess it's an indoor stadium down there in Tampa. There was a handful of people family and friends again. And most of them were Yankees fans. But. You know, Yankees quench last week. And and here they are trying to stave off Oakland and keep them at arm's length distance. They go into the game last night. Game and a half ahead of the of the Mariners. And. And Oakland is winning right now that there'd beating the Mariners eight to five that game was tied. But throwing a top of the six right now. And they've scored a couple of runs I got the basis low right now when he as we've got an eight to five lead over the over the Mariners, but the Yankees took care of business, obviously in control of their own destiny. I mentioned on the show last night. The what the motivation will be for Oakland once they clench will they be satisfied with that. Will they look at home field advantages as as something that is urgent? Are they comfortable planning Yankees on the road? If they've got to do so they well, they they beat the Seattle last night they clinched their up to five in the top of the six right now. But really what Oakland does from this point forward as long as the AKIs? We're taking care of business on her own is is relevant. Whatever Oakland could win out the rest of this week as long as the AKIs win. The majority of the games that are left on their schedule than the Yankees are going to secure that first wildcard position. And and home field advantage to go with it. They beat the the raise nine to two and the here we were talking about Gary Sanchez last night. And I made the comment. Listen in the postseason every pitch especially defensively when you're on defenses is so crucial is so important. And I was surprised that the Aaron Boone would almost like he didn't have to think about it. The Gary Sanchez was going to be as catcher in the wild card game. You know, I still despite the fact that Sanchez had a big night with that last night at the three run homers the Yankees seven run of the second inning. And the Sanchez was good at the plate. I still feel that Sanchez's the catcher in the wild card game is a mistake. And the chance that it could hurt the AKIs in that game. I think is is pretty good. But the Sanchez certainly felt good tonight. He was in a ten for sixty six slump going into the into the game. But seventeenth home Raanan. Jackie's also had a run-scoring single in the fifth and Yankees rolled big time ninety two and Tampa Severino was a good, I guess five plus innings tonight. Two runs four hits. He gets his nineteenth win of the season has a chance to get twenty wins with one more start left. He was up seven nothing and raise made a little noise in the fourth of the got the first three batters on. Score a couple of runs. But that was and the raise that none of Yankees went onto obviously win a game night to too. So. Pending the outcome of the the as in the Mariners game the AKIs are now two games in fronts and could be two and a half of the Mariners come back at worst. The Yankees are going to be a game and a half in front of the of the as as this season nears its end in this in this final week of the one hundred and sixty two game regular season..

He corrected me I one caller mentioned the monsters are due. On maple street I described the episode where they're all trying to get into. The, fallout shelter well the episode that I was describing is just. Called the shelter monsters. On maple street it's, a similar episode but that's the episode where they lose power and they're sure that. Alliens are coming so I stand corrected and I thank Brian. For the correction a lot of people on Facebook and emailing, me, including, Andy, Joseph Who was a founding father of the Reform Party I think he's left the Reform. Used to love the the perfect villain in the twilight zone. Is the gold digging whiny wife that drives her husband crazy. That's what they. Love to, make the Bill that perfect villain And so again we get a whiny wife in next stop Willoughby and I didn't love the twist at the end. Know what I was reading some of the reviews in my research for this segment today and one. Of the issues that. They take with that segment is that with with that episode rather is that they say the show is at its best. When it's. Moralizing it's is subtle that episode. It really kinda hits, you over the head they blame the world wars and everything. Else on the fact that the devil.
