"Nearly a quarter of a century, wbm has been the home of Chicago Bears football. Welcome back to soldier field Jeff joniak in Tom there. We've seen offensive excellence. Here's Matt forte twisting out of the tackle the Bowman and then barges into the end zone. Touchdown. Touchdown bears. And witness defensive dominance. And intercepted the ball the bears award. This is absolutely incredible. We've celebrated special teams. Vegetarian on the approach flat calls popping here in Miami. It sails to the far side around the 8 yard line to Hester under it. And to the middle of the 15 of the 20 breaks three of the 25 to the 30 to the outside, 40 midfield 40 30 of the cold 2015 Hester 5 touchdown bay. And had a front row seat to watch special players. Soldier field erupts. Catching on the blitz. Stanford to throw screen red beautifully and drop by her lacquer at the 12 snuffed out by Brian urlacher in the bears turned the lines away. 35 up to 30 when the left 2015 touchdown. You are ridiculous. We've been the soundtrack of the serious. The game is delayed and again, our hearts and prayers go out to the people out in the Peoria area that town of Washington sounds like it suffered some serious torn attic damage and that storm sells still has Chicago and its sights and the silly. With two seconds left in little Z what's the movie doing in the middle of the field? He's crossing the field. There's two so get off the field. Little Z is looking like, I don't know, one of those squirrels you might see that found its way out on an NFL field. He's got the parabolic in one hand. He needs to pump tuckered out, but he did make it. I should have started calling play by play on him. He what is he doing? He's like Rudy, he wanted to be carried off the field after this victory. Shotgun. Winston. From his 45 shotgun handout is blown up. Comes in there, Nichols just slammed the door and no chance to breathe. His kid explosive in a word. Explosive in a word that word is bad news because we haven't heard it maybe a three to four years. A big guy came and had an answer to that. He is fired up on the sidelines. We've shared incredible highs. They huddle up. Listen to this crowd. Trubisky. Takes the snap takes the knee. They head to the field. The bears have won it. 24 17 over the Green Bay Packers. And it's been an egg wishing absence from the playoffs. 7 years, 11 months, 27 days. They go last to first and they win. The NFC north 2018 division champions for the first time since 2010, they're headed back to the playoffs and these loyal fans have been rewarded for their loyalty and they have a bears team to be proud of right now. And also suffered spirit crushing lows. Placement made kick by perky from 43 and it hit me up right in his no good and the crossbar and the eagles are celebrating here at soldier field. We've also witnessed the spectacular. What a move by fields breaks free the 50 away he goes Justin's gone, baby, ten, 5, and zone. He's done it again. Let him roar Chicago because your quarterback just ripped up a 56 yard touchdown gallop

"Wood and it's time for sports and here's Rick rags. Don't have to look past the line score to figure out why the bulls three game winning streak crashed and burned against the rockets. When you have three quarters where you're giving up over 30 points in those quarters, it's hard to score enough points. We're scoring enough points, but we've got to be able to be better defensively. First, third and fourth Billy Donovan Houston out muscle the bulls in them all for a one 33 one 18 final, the bulls actually had a one point halftime lead, but trailed by as many as 19 in the fourth as the rockets made 50 of 90 shots Kevin Porter junior let him with 36 demar Derozan 31 for the bulls, Milwaukee is here tomorrow. Blackhawks and Carolina tonight, LA's chargers are playoff bound. Maybe the colt's 20 to three to get there. Denver's Broncos fired coach Nathaniel Hackett after just 15 games. Bear's great Brian urlacher famously had the traits of a defensive back in the body of a middle linebacker. Might be the reverse for rookie bear safety jaquan brisker according to linebacker Nick morrow. I think all strong safety have some, but I think he's really, he's a more natural safety, obviously, right? I think I play he had against the Patriots when he called that pig, where he starts playing from debt. So make that play. So I wouldn't say that, but I think he has a good when he's in the box. He does a good job of finding the football. But he definitely has good instincts from the brisker second on the bears and tackles despite missing three games leads the team in sacks and will play the Lions on Sunday right here. Our coverage begins at 9. On the home of the bears, Rick Greg does radio world 5 9 WDM. It's 6 18 traffic

"So I was like, this is what I would want to hear. This is what I'd want to hear. So the next time we went out and we did a show at I think it was buca Iraq, where they had the big prison. And we did some I love the sketches we did. A lot of fun, but on the stand up portion of it, I made it about their world. And it changed the whole dynamic, and it was so much more entertaining in my opinion. So it was great advice from Jon Stewart that helped on that too. And he's done those too, right? Oh, he's done several of them. Yeah, he's all over those. And then I went with the chairman of the joint chiefs on his holiday. Tour. And I went with Brian urlacher and Doug fister from here from the nationals and Kelly pickler and Diana agron and of course this little known actress that was just coming on the scene, Meghan Markle. So it turned out to be the Duchess of Sussex, but whatever. Yeah, she was wonderful. So we had a great tour. We all bonded. As a matter of fact, tonight, one of the ladies Nicole Murray from the nationals who was on the tour with us that she's going to be here tomorrow and I thought it would be fun. Fantastic. You can also bring your experience into the entertainment that you do apart from the USO shows and I'm thinking particularly 12 strong, for example. And other things that you've done, how do you bring your personal experience into some of those roles, even if you haven't had the same experience as those characters. And perhaps how do you help the other actors who haven't been where you were to kind of get a better idea of what the story is all about? I think just talking it out, you know, talking it out. Thinking, what is thinking? Thinking is asking and answering questions. That's all thinking is. You know, so it seems to think about it and say, okay, well, ask a question and then try to answer it. And that's all it is. So when I create a character or what I get a character on the page, I have to try to understand who is this guy, what's his world, how does he fit into the world, what's his tone? What's his attitude? How does he view things? And then you start asking and answering questions in that character's mindset. And once you can do that, it was an old improvising training technique or when we used to do improvise shows or whatever. If you had a character that you had created, you needed to be able to answer questions as that character without even thinking, you know? So if I was playing a redneck, you could ask me any of that. I'd be like, yeah, I know exactly what I do then, son. You know, or whatever. And you think and act and react and so I was lucky because I had some experience in some of these very personal experiences like 12 strong, where I ended up playing lieutenant colonel max Bowers, who was my boss in Afghanistan. You know, the movie ends in 12 strong where the movie ends.

"An app you get on your phone, you scan the trade card, it tells you exactly how much it's worth, the condition, I don't know about the condition, but it tells you how much it's worth the year, you always got these cards, like, oh, no, what is this worth? Well, you get the app, you scan it, it tells you how much it's worth. As a kid. You always want to, like, someone's like, oh, that's worth like 40 bucks. Really? $4. That's right. So this app you scan it, it tells you exactly how much it's worth, just tons of information. It's pretty cool. We used to have to buy those old, what are they called Beckett books? Yes. You would have to find it. There's just pages and pages of cards and you're just like, I don't know, it's your right. It's either worth $4 or 40,000, and I don't know. So you ever heard of a break? A break? Like you go to these trading cards and you open a box. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'd never heard of it. And then Brian led and the guy who started the company led. Sometimes I call him ludic. Anyway, he's like, you want to do a break? I'm like, what's that mean? Dude, he goes, we're going to open the box of cars. He's like, oh, fuck yeah. So we did that and we pulled a Tom Brady rookie card. We opened my class 2000. We pulled a Tom Brady rookie. Yeah, it was big too. Dude, this app is so crazy that you're actually saying that this is what it does because the other day just moved into a new house. I'm back at my parents house looking through all my stuff, all my childhood stuff in my room and the basement. And I looked through all the cards that I had saved, and I'm literally looking at these rookie cards, I had Derek Jeter card. And I wasn't sure it was like his first All-Star Game rookie card and I had like a holographic thing on it. I'm like, thinking to myself, how am I supposed to know how am I supposed to know? Is it $2 or is it like 25,000? I have no idea what the answer is. The card guys know exactly where to go to. The guys are, they have this they go to the website where they know exactly what to look for. Because we did it one day. We tested the card versus actually going online and researching all the cards. We did 5 cards. The app took 30 seconds. This research in them all took about 5 minutes. So it's amazing the technology that's behind this thing. But yeah, they're going to release it pretty soon. We should be pretty damn cool. I'm excited. You're talking about opening a new pack. People do that on Instagram Live and people can jump in and watch. It's pretty riveting actually. Knows a big card guy, cassius marsh. You guys know who that is. Play for the bears this year..

"All right, we are now joined by an NFL legend, Chicago Bears legend, Brian urlacher, has joined the show. Welcome to the show. Thanks for having me. Appreciate it. You got Trent and I here Riggs is out here at the bar so classic we're here at mesa. He's doing the putting contest. It's taken forever, so we figured we'd just turn these mics on, just rip it. We've been bullshitting for what 20 minutes anyway. Yeah, might as well just turn these things on and start recording. Yeah, so I think I'm played a pretty cool, but I played high school football in the mid 2000s. I was a bald linebacker. It was like a pretty big deal to a guy like me, so it's very exciting to have you on the show. Nice. You were in Iowa? Yes. Yeah, a lot of bears fans in Iowa, Ohio. There's not much to especially I was a lot of root for right now. Right. College obviously. Yeah, no pro teams, so you just kind of pick. There's a lot of Vikings, bears, chiefs, you kind of get your pick of what you wanted. A ton of I grew up with a lot of bears. The first one is everywhere. The reason I think there's bears fans were, 'cause everyone who grows up their leaves. That's why they're all over the United States for all the warm weather places 'cause everyone who goes up there wants to get out because it's a two day cold. Right, you spend 18 winters in Chicago and you're like that's enough for me. I like Chicago but I did not enjoy the weather. Let's play 6. I wasn't playing. You played your whole 13 year career in Chicago. You know, I love that. One Jersey. Was that a big reason for you always wanting to stay there? It meant more to me when I was done than when I was playing if that makes sense. I thought I could play one two more years, possibly after I retired. But I didn't want to play anywhere else. And plus I didn't want to play for another head coach. Once they fired luvvie, so it was like, eh, do I want to go try and play for another guy? And then he got hired in Tampa a year later. So I was like, oh, you know, possibly, but they had Levante David. They had some good backers down there. So it was, that was out. But yeah, just playing with, now I look back. I was very proud to be with the one. What was it about love that you liked so much? Man, just a great number one is a great guy. You didn't want to let him down. He's like your dad. He's like, you did not want to let me down. I never cussed. In the 13 years, I played for him. I'm sorry, 9 years I played for him. He never cursed. If you said crud darn dang or crap, they were like, oh shit. Lovely is pissed. And I was like, we're in trouble. He said all four in one sentence and a halftime versus Detroit in 2010. We were like, oh no. Man, they didn't score in a second half. They had like 30 yards total offense. He only got mad with a defense playback. Offense could shit the bad do I ever want to put defense playback?.

"And I just, I don't know. I don't know. That's great. I'll tell you a lot about Gonzaga though. Yeah. Hey, you want to know what good saga? He's the ultimate getting a drink with guy. Yeah, he's great. Teddy bear man. This is a big bubbly. Eye contact all over the place. Now that you mention it. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Huge icon. Don't ever drive with them. He maintains the eye contact while driving. That's dangerous. It is. Correct. He has not comprehended much like his putty that you're supposed to look at the road. He actually at one point I think he said, what am I supposed to stare at the road the whole time? Yeah, he did that. We were like, yeah. He's like, I get bored. Quick Lance. Come on. In the rule book. I said something in the back seat and he goes, yeah, is that how you feel? Semi.

"It's just because we're so busy and like we're really and we're posting so many things on our YouTube, our Twitter and our Instagram and stuff that I've just, it's all just going by me. Like I'm not like Instagram, I haven't looked at a single thing that I've been tagged in a comment in a long time. And I was always reading everything and some crazy and responding. People with DM me and I'd be like, what the fuck are you doing? Frankie, I'll just be in a war with somebody that's not popular. But at the end, yeah. And then at the end, what's this for? It's like up there profile pictures like a pick up a mountain. And then at the end we became good friends and he'd be like, I'm gonna come to borrelia. So I always felt like it was a nice finish. But you know, I never thought it would be possible, but I think it really is to just like, you know, you see stuff on Twitter, you get tagged in it, you see all this stuff from the people that you want to see stuff from and it's pretty easy to actually block it all out, to be honest. I always used to say, there's no chance when an athlete would say I block it out. But I don't know how it happened. Naturally, it's just happening now. It's almost like information overload. You just can't it's just too much. Memory Scottish chef will tell us during the masters. He has a different phone. Yeah, I texted him. Leaves his actual phone like at home and just has a bathtub. With his wife. For tournaments. Tournament phone. Crazy. Like DMed us back, me. I mean, you have his number. DM me back like Monday night, I was like, sorry bro I didn't have my phone. Do you mean you didn't have your phone? I texted him on the Wednesday before the U.S. open. I sent him a picture that we took at the masters with his wife on at the par three tournament or wherever we were. They were skipping balls. And I was like, awesome day to day, like go get them this week. Didn't answer, I'm like, ugh, that was just I shouldn't have messed up. Breaking news. Monday morning, I sent him another tax being like, dude, just congratulations. I can't believe this is happening to you the best. Sends me a text so sorry for not getting back to you on Wednesday. I was using my tournament phone, didn't even see it. How's everything going? He sounds like the most genuine person. He's awesome. He's great. No, I think that's absolutely right. It's crazy. So in terms of so I want to talk about Steph Curry because he, for I think everybody, he can just get into his own where it's basically unstoppable. If you're draining threes from fucking, how can you just defend that? Do you try to with someone like him or anybody, really?.

"10% off your first order. Here's Corey and then Brian urlacher. Folks, we're joined right now by not a type of athlete that we have very often. We've only studied the only things. I think when we had JJ and we said, I think this is the first NBA player, and now we've got the second. You're making me really nervous. JJ's hard to follow. He's a good change is hard to follow. He's got a lot of trouble. He's been doing pod game, all that. He's golf nut, which I think. It sounds like we had to do a bunch of shaver for the show stuff already with you, 'cause I think you're a golf not too. Absolutely. Through and through. You're washing guy? Yes, born and raised in Seattle area. Me and Frankie went up there, we couldn't believe that many fucking trees that are up there. It's hard to hit punch shots and they're different trees too. Big, thick branches, and you look out here. You can hit it through a tree and like maybe the ball will get through. In Washington, that ball's coming straight down. And you gotta hit a punch. That's like Northern California with like the cypress tree. They swallow golf balls. And I feel like the washing area is the same way. But this is Corey kispert, by the way. Corey kispert. I interrupted you guys my fault. That's okay. Wizards are very on Jake bass. Big NBA wizards fan. He's a D.C. guy. Well, Baltimore guy. But what DMV? The DMV? DMV guy. There you go. So we'll stick on the Washington thing. We just talk about gamble sands. I'd never been. David mcclay kid, we're doing barstool classic stop this year. Everybody says it's absolutely sick. It's unbelievable. There's so many cool tee shots with like, and the thing about washing today, we're talking about trees. As soon as you pass the mountain range in the middle of it, you get to like almost a desert, basically. So gamble sands is like wide open. There's like dunes and like cool like pills and mountain ranges and stuff like that and you hit a ball like two 50, it's gonna run to three 75 down there. You're gonna see something massive, massive drive. Yeah, the pictures I've seen, it looks like you're at the Grand Canyon or something all the sudden. Yeah, you're like right on the river that kind of runs through that small town. It's like this really kind of really small town that like as centered around this golf course and they bring in a bunch of money there because of gamble sands. It's such a cool place. Do you think Seattle gets an unnecessarily bad rap for weather? No. Okay. That's part of the reason why I'm living here now. I live there for 18 years and I'm so tired of seeing The Rain. Okay. All right, because we've kind of gone to war with the people of Seattle in this podcast because I think we said it rained 364 days a year. And then you come back, they're like, it doesn't rain that much. So it's good to hear somebody who's from there being like, no, it rains a ton. See, it's a misconception because it's such a slow burn. So pressure's on. The patio scene here at mesa is insane. If you watch the four man scramble with Joel Damon, you know what we're talking about? If not, this guy's about to have a driver. Absolutely. Keep an eye on that. Oh, mister bunker and it's a fucking pipe show. That was a missile. Fantastic..

"That reminds me right away, ain't no lobby podcast. We don't like it. Why? 'cause it is a lobby. So it's just like not. Yeah, but everybody wears ain't hobby gear and it is not a hobby for you. But you're wearing it no hobby. It's a hobby for you. Because it's like a funny saying that kids says, it was a funny saying that people were saying. But it literally is a lobby. I like. Late checkout. I thought it was a good one. Yep. Why? It's a saying about not everything has to be a play on something. Late check out his lobby party is better than eating a lobby. Lobby potty? The lobbyist. I just got a couple of these a little bit. Eno lobby is. Lazy. It's lazy. Check out desk or whatever. Please check out. That's not lazy. We thought about sayings and terms about it. They know lobby feels like it's a prisoner of the moment. It literally is a lobby. It is a lobby. The only person or something? Yeah, it's like where it's a late checkout. We're hanging around the lobby, which is what you do when you have a late check. This dude fucking loves ain't no lobby. Riggs does. No, no, if he's ready to go to war for it. No, I'm just curious. It's coming off like a really bad. Like you're in a really bad mood right now. I was just curious about ain't no lobby, but it's a lot. Make sure you watch on YouTube to make sure you get the tone of what's going on here. Not just listen to the audio. I was gonna say for his life right now. I think you're kind of the one. I feel fine. I love late checkout. I thought anal lobby just doesn't make any sense because it is a lobby. That's how I feel as well. Why would we do a podcast in the lobbyist has ain't no lobby? Would you like about that? Let's think about this. This one, we're literally on a back in the backyard of this ain't no lobby. I guess I didn't know we took everything so literally. I just thought it was kind of a fun name. I guess if you're gonna go by that premise, I don't understand why late checkout would make a lot more sense. 'cause you're not checking out the hotel here in the lobby. You're not out of the hotel yet. Who is it? The people doing the podcast, dude. If we did, if we did a hotel podcast, why would late check out not make sense? Just because we're not checking out in that moment, we're just like. Correct. We're in the lobby. We're hanging out in the hotel. So when you get a lane, check out, you don't just stay in your room, isn't that why you could stand there and we can go to the bar, you can go to the lobby. I don't want to do a lot. I don't want to do the lobby podcast anymore. No, I don't. I think that podcast is now. Here's full disclosure. We've done the bar so classic today, and I think, I don't know. You're raising a weird mood because we're like, it's been late. Two days in a row, I get it. A lot of handshakes, a lot of people fucking around, and it's just, I don't know, tempers are high. And we just didn't like it either. So we won't cover them. It'll go something different. Yeah. You can go play check out. We had two gas on the show. We did have two guests. We had Brian urlacher, and we had Corey kiss per Corey kiss Bert with a T at the end. Two really good guess. Yeah. Doesn't everyone forget the last time that that happened was Bart Scott, the can't wait jets. That was and they got their butts handed to them, you know? And it was really interesting. I mean, I was at that game. I was actually standing next to Bart Scott in the locker room while he said that to he might have said it again in the locker room. He said it on the field and then I was there in the locker room and he said it again. But yeah, I mean, Bill bell check is the greatest head coach in NFL history, but the mythos that he can not be beaten a third time. I think is kind of overblown, especially when I think buffalo leads the league in passing defense scoring defense and total defense. Of the teams that have done that in the Super Bowl era, half of them have made the Super Bowl and not a single one of them lost to a rookie quarterback. So I can't imagine I can't imagine buffalo losing this game is all I'm saying. I think buffalo is going to the Super Bowl and I can't see them losing this game. To your point, Josh Allen's been fabulous. I think we have a Bengals like recency bias because the bill's faltered a little bit at the end of the season, whereas the Bengals succeeded in so now our calibrations all off, but this team was putting up like 35 or 40 points a week at the beginning of the season. Do we not think that they're capable of doing that again in the postseason? And I just want to double down on my Mac Jones take in the cold because I want this to be as insulting as possible. I'm not even Florida but I'm not even saying like, oh, yeah, the arms trying to cut through the wind or whatever. And it looks as I pull up the forecast now and again, we got like two more days, but it looks like it's going to be very little as far as wind goes. So it's just going to be really, really cold, like single digits cold. And that's what I'm saying. I'm saying he's going to be like, man, it is too cold for football. I don't want to be out here. It's going to kind of feel like remember the packers giants NFC title game when Brett Favre was there and it just sort of ended with his really terrible interception and over time. I think it's that sort of thing where you just sort of get some throws that are like, this is too much. Let's go inside. But you have to, you know, there's such an aesthetic to this. Like, do you remember, I remember the Fox Sunday special before like when the year that the bears made it to the Super Bowl, Brett, Brian urlacher was sleeping in the freezer. Oh, I don't remember that..

"So it's improved a bit, but this is still obviously a few days out. Things change, especially down in the tropical regions. Um If it rains, it rains just hold onto the football. Whoever executes better that that's you know, I just I just don't I don't understand. It's not like Kurt is from Southern California. I mean, it was in Iowa and he was playing right. He's doing a little schools playing a lot of outdoors. Football. I know we played me really, but Uh, yeah. If I was on that panel, I would have grown like everybody else did just, uh, they don't need it. Did he Has? He doubled down since now? I don't think so. Has everybody. I'm sure people have asked about sure. He's doing some stuff for the Super Bowl. Of course, But I'm sure you know, I don't think he's shot away from you. Don't you don't repeat a bad take twice. Why hasn't stopped me a few times, All right. Coming up. Let's get the update. We've got act after that. What do the Bears do with the quarterback spot? We know what the Lions did We know that the Rams did We think we know what the Texans could do. There's also report that's gaining a little bit of steam that Carson wins. Even with all the changes wants out. What will the Bears do for their quarterback? Spot? Coming up in 2021 will give Brian Urlacher that is next. At the racks update, which is now here's rich. See me? Yes. Sports flag on guys. The countdown to Super Bowl, 55 continues. And for all of Tom Brady success, the Bucks don't have as much experience in the big game as the Chiefs were all a part of this a year ago, Tyron Matthew has been a vital cog in the Kansas City defense and said preparations have gone well. Those farm we still a couple days away from the big game. You know, you don't want to You don't have too much energy before the game. You want to kind of build up to it, But, you know, I think we're in the right mindset right now. You know we're ready to go. I think we understand. You know, the kind of team would plan in the kind of challenge you know. We got in front of us. Chiefs are as healthy as they can possibly be getting back. "We got the Andre Swift lines running back next hour. We've got Aaron Donald Superstore defensive tackle for the Rams next hour. Both of those players but new quarterback so great, very timely interviews and conversations, I should say. Aunt also Brian Urlacher, what you the Bears do with their quarterback position this offseason. Obviously, Travis Key's been Hot button topic out there in Chicago for a while. Let's get to Eric Be enemy here teach, So he spoke and what I want to play this, he said to me, said a lot of interesting things now be enemies we know didn't get one of the seven jobs and There's two ways to frame it, I think, And I think both are there's merit and truth and both. Yes, the first way to frame it more visceral way to frame it is that the enemy got hosed. All right. And you know, for the most part, I can co sign that because there's two of these jobs. I don't know what the Eagles are doing with Nick's Nick might turn out to be great. That is a confounding higher to me. I don't know why they did that. I don't get it. And what the Texans did with 65 year old David Coley. And I'm certainly not age shaming here, but that is a very off the radar. Unconventional higher, Not something I would have done. So two of those seven jobs to me. Were strange hires. Now. The urban Meyer won the Robert Salah one, The Brandon Stale. They won the Arthur Smith won. The Dan Campbell won five of the seven. I really, really like two of the seven. I didn't know I didn't agree with you on the Philadelphia higher Maybe he turns out to be great, but he doesn't seem like a fantastic communicator. And that's the one thing that we talked about all season long and Philadelphia was the lack of communication s O. I agree with you and Cully. I mean, I don't know what they're trying to do there, You know, maybe there's a larger picture that I'm just not seeing, Asai said a couple days ago. Maybe last week, bt it feels like this is a second tank job. Just trying to figure out if they trade to Shawn Watson. How you acquire some pics with that trade and you scrape the bottom for a couple years and maybe you'll turn it around and three or four. Who knows it's an odd higher. David Kelly might be the greatest man in football. Not a lot of people will say that, but he's never been a head coach. He's never been a coordinator on any level, so I don't I don't get it. I understand. He's got the background and document because he's a football lifer on he played. He played quarterback and he knows quarterback and but that was just doesn't make sense to me. Okay, so here's the enemy on not getting a head coaching job. I learned a long time ago toe learn how to persevere through adversity. But the beauty of it is is not so much that I have to persevere because that's gonna take care of itself. Is making sure that whatever has taken place when Eric the enemy isn't becoming a distraction. My focus is making sure that the Kansas City Chiefs are ready to play and then we're going out there to take care of business. I'll handle Eric the enemy's business, okay? On Monday. See that's that's high character stuff. I think people needed to hear it. I think that that while that's I don't want to say it's fairly obvious, but I think that that was good for the enemy to say this next cut to me. Is the one aspect that I think a lot of people either overtly ignore or severely underrated. And that is ah, lining yourself with a job that is right for you. We can sit here all day and take our darts and say, Well, this team should hire that guy in this team tonight or that guy and that guy and that guy, but if it's not right for the candidate Then it's just not right, also for the team and began to be touched on that this to me is very interesting. Go ahead D cell. It's always about getting the right job and you gotta understand. Sometimes the job and the person have to connect. So it has to be a connection. The only thing I can do is be my most authentic self. That's who I am. Okay. I can only be me. See, that's not something we really get into. But that to me might be the most important factor. Not just for Eric for everybody. Yeah, no, look at the end of the day. There's been a lot of things said about Eric, the enemy, none of which we can confirm nor true, but the one that keeps coming up and you could just listen to those two cuts Beatty and realize that it is utter nonsense. That he doesn't interview well, because he is he sounds to me very assures the first thing I thought of right, very sure of his stances. He's very focused on his intent of the words that he's saying and what he's trying to convey. And you are. You don't sit there confused. Like what was he getting? That was he was he talking about? We're gonna be prepared. We're gonna We're gonna systems in place. What? It does. He's not that kind of coach man, and it's interesting. They forgot where I saw this. It was in some, you know, report about Eric, the enemy on they showed him talking after the Super Bowl last year on do you know the importance of getting the team ready and his impact that he was? I mean, he was spot on with with how he understands. The game, all sides of it. He's talking offensively. But you know, obviously because he's officer coordinated but defensively and how they're supporting each other. You know, it's a shame that someone's not Ah, willing to offer him the job now, the other thing that we can't we can't know because we have no idea is if he basically turned down job before they were offered to him, because, as he just said, it's got to be the right fit. Like the last thing that black coach wants to do in the NFL is take a job where he knows he's going to fail..

"So see rules that for free today and rocket mortgage squares calm. What is going on? We got a huge show for you today. DeAndre Swift of the Lions running back two inches next hour. He's got a new coach. You got a new quarterback as well. We've got Aaron Donald best defensive player in football. He's got a new quarterback, same coach. New quarterback. He'll join us next hour. Brian Urlacher on what the bear should do it their quarterback spot. You would imagine they do something, but we have a good show set up for you Take what's going on today, Buddy. Hey, it's good man. One day closer to Super Bowl 55 years kind of realized today it's the 20th. Anniversary of my shellacking. Also in Tampa, By the way, Super Bowl 35 from the Ravens destroyed us. I was talking about it earlier today. Just bad memories. He scored one time kicked. Ron Dixon kick return, which was offset by Jamal are No. Mel when you're Germaine. Main Lewis kickoff return Right back prop. Bet the BT Pick the one that I did. I did. Yeah, I just realized this 20 years. Forget about the bad stuff. What was it like running out of the tunnel? Serious? Well, they didn't introduce us. This was I've told you this story, right? With the defense. Yeah, I've told you this story. So you know, obviously back in the day. They don't do it this way that much anymore. It's mostly, you know, teams going out as a team, and maybe they just they announced the starting lineups, but sometimes they do it in the Super Bowls, But you you don't see it anymore in the regular season. That's my point. So in the regular season, we alternated every week. It was like offense gets introduced defense get introduced offense can introduce defense gets introduced and I remember having the conversations with Greg Comella. In 2000 because we wrote that every single game together from the From the hotel and driving to the the NFC Championship game at the Meadowlands is the game where we destroyed the Minnesota Vikings. Greg and I are talking about the game and what we need to do. And then that's it into the end, right before we get there he goes. Just think. If we win we're getting introduced in the Super Bowl. Because the defense got introduced in the NFC championship. It was your turn. It was our turn. So what the hell have three days before the Super Bowl? Coach Fossil has a team meeting and we're down in Tampa already. And he says, you know, you know, I wanted to introduce the offense, but the defense has gotten us here on, you know, we believe that they should be introduced because it was straight hand and Jessie Armstead and Hammer Keith Hamilton. Like all these really good players. They were the core of our some of our success. But It pissed us off so bad, bt of no idea, no matter how deflating that was to us is an offense now It doesn't explain why we played like crap. But, um, you know, being introduced was not the fun part. The only thing that was fun was sitting next to Ray Charles is he saying America the beautiful and it was downhill after that? What a memory, Though, Rachel, also great. Did anybody vehemently publicly protest fossils decision in that meeting? Yeah, right. Of course he did. Really? Of course they did. What they say is he answered the question. Like I just answered it. Like you know, our defense is the one is what is what got us here, You know, all right. Whatever. Coach I got you, whatever that would drive me nuts. You have these grand visions. I'm common trait. The culmination of my my football athletic endeavors. Whole world gets to see me. And they had gone to take you the Ravens of the backfield. It'll be 3rd and 17. Now because the Ravens fall day, everybody all right, so you know, Listen, I think this is a good day, too. To look at the Super Bowl and the NFL and contrasted to some of the other sports in in a in a prison. That is unique to only the sport of football. And that is really quite frankly, The inability to I mean, forget about threepeat. We could actually kick the tires on that in a moment, but to threepeat, you gotta to Pete And it is so rare, um, only five or six times in the history of the NFL has as a team repeated repeated. It's been since the early two thousands with the Pats back in 03 or four. It's been awhile. Chiefs win this game, they will have accomplished that. I feel like there's some fairly obvious reasons why that's the case. But let's get into this little bit here. Why is it historically? That's 54 years of data 54 years of Super Bowls take where we could lean on and say, Jason, it's It's a very rare occurrence. Why? Why is that the case, So I think the biggest thing and it doesn't and it's hard for both teams to go. So the team that wins But also so the A F C champion and the NFC champion. It's really hard for both of them to get back to this game. It's unless you're the New England Patriots so we can exclude them because they're consistently in this game. This is a work consistently in this game with Tom Brady and they had the last repeat back in 3 4004. But if the jumping off point B T is because as soon as you are Super Bowl champion And or the Super Bowl runner up. You're you're never getting taken for granted, like the next season. It's not. You're not gonna have a game Where teams like, Yeah. Yeah, We're just playing the chief's. It's never gonna be that way is good. But why are an NBA champions taken for granted? The difference Still champion? Well, I think well, I think in the MBA And this is this is this is this is the importance of the regular season and this This is what we're focusing on the contrast in the regular season for the NFL versus the regular season really, and all the other sports What hockey, baseball or basketball like, Yeah, we're gonna give it our all against the defending.

NFC football Ravens NFL Tampa Greg Comella Brian Urlacher DeAndre Swift Lions Aaron Donald New England Patriots Ron Dixon Tom Brady BT Jessie Armstead NBA Coach Fossil Ray Charles

"Hi. Arjun Greco, Monday, Wednesdays and Friday. We're just talking about talking about the juniors championship last night breaking out of hockey. You have never heard you talk about the junior so much. Yeah. Was fabulous. But the only good thing for the United States over the past 24 hours. What was a glorious moment last night was absolutely Were you even on the air today, Mark No. We stayed with the network all day long. We will have a 10 o'clock newscast. Tonight. We'll have a little bit of sports. Talking about the Bears and Andrew Shaw. Fan favorite in your face. Guy is back. And he was very funny today, so hopefully we can provide a little bit of alternative programming just like I'm gonna try to do for the next half hour, right? Right. It's I'm sure, though, it's tough to live in the newsroom. It's been tough for me all day today. Like I don't get me wrong. I love my job. I'm not an expert on anything that's going on in the real world today. That's what we tend to stay in our lane. But it's just like I said to Michael, I said this to black during the break. I'm just is down as I can remember today. It's just frustration and anger. I'm just absolutely horrified. This is one of the most surreal. Just insane. Days in American history. I'm gonna try to stay in my lane too, because four years ago I was suspended for two weeks without pay for mocking and warning people, So I'm just going to leave it at that. Let's move on to run a tab. Pick on cash. He seems to want to know what's going on. Guys obviously had nothing to talk about yesterday proposing a boxing match between wasn't me. I didn't know who proposed the boxing at the other one that I waited. Yeah, Mark, hold on. First of all nothing to talk about when when one of our own is attacked. The defendant reserves waiting like that one? No, I thought it was good stuff. How did this all start He? I'll play this for you. He violated what I believe is a code. Now Look, you're a guy I grew up watching. I got to shadow for you a day in middle school. I got to intern for you like I am always in the kitchen bothering, right? I've tainted his life. He's picked up your laundry. Yes, absolutely. His foot long sandwich? Yes. Never. I never made you pick up my dry cleaning or wash my car. Unlike timeshare on hey, actually wanted one of our interns to do that, and car. Our intern happen to be some big ex football player who put him up against the wall and set him straight. I'm here to learn TV not to go get your dry cleaning. So so they actually picked up and pushed him up against the wall. So another another great moment in broadcast his drug test history broadcasting in the eighties, right? Right. And so here we are listening to cap and Jay Hood. In the morning and then all of it, and I think he violated a major code here. Okay, So they were talking about Jed Hoyer and how much Jed Hoyer has made as the general manager and why the Cubs are hiring another general manager right now. Work under Jed currently. So this is the conversation that took place. She was gonna make three million bucks. Told you to Jed Hoyer didn't make $3 million. Absolutely not Think General, you made million million. No shot. There's zero shot. There's zero shot. Gene Greco is making more than Geno ordered it. Giangreco was making less than a million. Sorry break did to you, Um Who I'm just telling you. I don't know why you had to go there. Oh, Mine was suspicious. Now you're getting personal. I'm just being honest. That's what I'm comfortable. That's what I got A couple of real quick, just meet, like sweating, and I'm never hot. I'm just telling you, I'm just well, maybe you should have told us. What? That he has a to pay.
