"So they were in man to man match ups. And all they were doing was they were taking Isaiah McKenzie as the inside receiver and they were just running him out in the flat, right? And miles Brian starting from an inside position, he's out leverage. She can't get there. And if you're not switching it off, then it's just easy. It's easy yards underneath the defense. So so many frustrating things they played zone early and Josh Allen was taking those checkdowns, right? He was checking it down to Singletary. He's taking 8, 9, ten yards at a time on those checkdowns. So they finally got out of that and they tried to play man to man coverage. And their leverage rules just got exposed. They both knew the answers, and he absolutely exposed all the leverage rules. And really, I look at this game from a defense perspective. I know a lot of people have also been out there and said they had no pass rush. They got no pressure on Josh Allen. There was no rush whatsoever. He had all day to throw those types of things. I actually, this came to me Alex is way more of a coverage breakdown game than a pass rush breakdown game. They're gap integrity wasn't great. They allowed Ellen to extend plays. They allowed him to move around. But they actually pressured him on 40% of his dropbacks. They hurried him 20 times in this game. But the problem was, is that every single time they got some pressure on them every single time somebody broke through and was able to get in his face, he had open receivers everywhere. So there was always an outlet. There was always a way out of the pressure. So pressure generating pressure generating sacks, it's a marriage, right? You have to be able to marry Russian coverage. If you don't have good coverage, you're not going to be able to sack the quarterback. And if you don't have good rush, you're not going to be able to cover for 6 seconds. There has to be a marriage between the two. And yesterday, I thought the pass rush for the most part did pressure a little bit, but they weren't able to get him on the ground because there was places to go, right? There was outlets there was receivers open behind it. So really, a defensive game plan that didn't work that had no answers and was absolutely torched from start to finish. You give up 7 red zone drives and you don't force a team to pun. That's as bad as it gets. So here's the thing. I think ultimately the Patriots defense did what they wanted to do. But they needed to do. I think they did what they wanted to do..

He was a World War two veteran, and he married a German woman after the work and came home and our next door neighbors with this man and his wife as German wife and my brother, Brian started talking to her and they're talking. They're talking and they got to a singer to you to garden houses. You know, maybe the garden weasel something like that. And my brother finally got to understand. So you know you were a kid in Germany and all Wednesday. Yeah, and my brother said, So. What do you think? What do you think It would be like now, if Hitler had won and she said all I don't know. I think not so different. Maybe a few more rules. Maybe a few more rules. She said. Yes. Yes. Well, what kind of rules do you think? Maybe I don't know. I think not so different. Maybe a few more rules idea from our roast. So you know, the left is here. They've got a few more rules for us. They've got the status tests. They have a few more rules. Now in my among my brothers since that we've got it's kind of a punch line with all of us. Maybe a few more rules in a variety of situations. One of us might just jump in and say, maybe a few more rules. Because that's that's what they're about. Let's go to Steve Schmidt thinks they should rule with an iron fist that should be done with an iron fist. That's the actual language that is, Let's go back to lunch bucket. "Brian starts us off running through the numbers both like gets $100,000 every year from the Mississippi State Legislature to take care of the historic buildings. Lawmakers approved the same amount last year in the same period that they also voted to remove the Confederate emblem from the state flag. The biggest windfall came after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, FEMA and the National Park Service sent more than $17 million to Bove law, but that money didn't just go to restoring buildings. Almost half of that money went to creating a new museum and library from scratch. That's where you hear this lost cause version of history of benevolent slave owners and heroic confederates. We found that over the last decade, at least $40 million have flowed to Confederate sites and organizations. We visited dozens of these places, and we would often hear some version of this myth that slavery wasn't so bad. In Georgia, For example, I heard this on the tour of a H. Steven State Park. Stevens was the vice president of the Confederacy. Mr Stevens was real good to his servant. He treated him like family. Georgia has spent over a million dollars on this park in the last decade. And then there's this in Mississippi. I recorded it on a tour of a historic site dedicated to Stephen D. Lee, Confederate lieutenant. He got $30,000 from the state when it was started. A lot of widows were being taken advantage of and thrown up and different things that their their idea was. They were going to be like eight. Militia to protect people. She's talking about the Ku Klux Klan, and she told me that the KKK had been misunderstood. The group was formed to protect widows after the war. She left out that 19 people were lynched in the very same county where we were standing. We found that a big chunk of public money goes directly to Confederate heritage organizations. The United Daughters of the Confederacy and Sons of Confederate veterans. Some of that money goes to maintain specific sites like a Confederate cemetery. I visited here in Virginia. Entering the Confederate section of Oakwood Cemetery here in Richmond, Virginia. And there's a gentleman who is looks to be directing traffic. Can you.

"Kind of just sort of ignored them. You know, I pretended I was sleeping with him that I didn't notice. But each night to be more more, And finally, one morning when I was in bed, he was like Are you okay? You seem kind of grumpy this morning, So I said sorry. I had a hard time sleeping with all the texting you were doing last night and he goes. Oh, I'm sorry. That was a buddy from work. I see. Ah, buddy. So a buddy from work was texting you at two am asking you up. I asked him to prove it and I said, Show me the conversation. And he got all defensive and was like, Are you serious? Are we really doing the foul? So you know, I kind of just let it go. But then later I looked on his phone and it wasn't his buddy. It was his ex Christine, and she was like, started in depressed because she's turning 30 and she moved in New Jersey. And now she doesn't have anybody who turned. Brian broke up. So she was texting him to make herself feel better. I guess. Okay, when you found all of this out, did you tell Brian? Yeah, Of course, I was like, Well, I looked for your phone and you lied to me. And so we got in this huge fight, and I said, I want this conversation with her to be done or else we're done. So after that, I don't work. No more tax. And no more late night duty calls. Okay, Well, that's good, I guess. Yeah, except listen to this. This past weekend, he went to one of my friend's baby showers and on the way Hey, had a phone in his hand and he goes. Can you just put that address in the GPS for me? So I did. And then when I opened up the maps, the one that his previously searched address, said Trenton, New Jersey, Which is where the ex lips? Yes. So I'm like, What the fuck was the Irish one that just kind of looked up Or was it one that he actually use like I might look? Action. I honestly have no idea like all I know is that it was one of the first three locations that he previously looked up. Did you ask him about it? Like did you say Wow, So looks like you're planning a trip to New Jersey. Soon. I immediately asked him about it. I was like When were you in New Jersey? And he does what, Like playing all done and I I said, I go through your phone, and it says you looked up new Jack directions in New Jersey and he goes No. Look it up because I was gonna, you know, send Kristina birthday card and I didn't know the zip code. But we've got this whole fight, so I never sent it. Okay, so he also he looked up her address just to get the zip code. Okay, listen. I realize I am the naive one on this show. But that premise I don't know seems likely to me. I mean, he's not sneaking off to New Jersey. That's like an eight hour drive. At least I think you would notice if he was missing for 16 hours. So here's what happened. Two weekends ago, I was down in Raleigh to surprise my grandmother for you know, her 80th birthday and Brian can come because she's living in a center and Brian start pulling vaccinated yet he stayed home, but I was gone the entire weekend. Okay. And this trip that you took? It was planned, right? Like he knew about it in advance. Yeah. So he could have played a trip of his own that we can knowing that you would be gone. A way to go visit your act. You keep saying that, But it's not a long drive. It's 5.5 hours to Trenton, New Jersey. No way That's gonna be like at least eight hours. No. Five hours and 34 minutes by GPS, at least my GPS and there's several different ways to get there. But the like The first two are both 5.5 hours. You've got to be kidding me. No look. Holy crap. Oh, Both of the shortest options to New Jersey are through tolls. Okay, So why don't we call and say somebody stole his easy past and was using it in New Jersey? Okay, okay. Yeah, but you're assuming he has an easy pass. Now he does. He has an easy problem. Okay, So let's call him and say somebody might have hacked your EZ pass and was using it or or just say we think it was stolen out of your vehicle. I mean,.

"That Zeus the reality so As I've said, you know, I think I like definitely sit down with these guys during spring training and talk to them about their futures and Talking, But you know, we'll talk about contracts will also talk in general. I think that's one of things that I felt like it was missed last year that hopefully we can do a little bit more of this is getting a chance to sit down and talk, so we'll have discussions over the course of spring. It's a perfect time for it. Um, but nothing's changed on that on that front, you know? I'd love to have that continuity and have some these guys going forward. But we've said like this. Financially. It is impossible for any team to build to continue that and to continue with that group. Um, indefinitely and as a result, you know, we won't be able to keep that entire group together really financially. You and that's the thing While it's not like this is goes back to the nostalgia conversation that we had yesterday. I don't want to keep. I'm not all about 16 anymore. You know, 16 is great, and we'll always have a place in my heart. This isn't about me keeping my fan favorites. From 16. This is about you keeping your best players in the prime of their career. Do you know what I'm saying? Or basically going through a rebuilt like what? If Let's play this out. What if Chris Brian gets off to a hot start? What if, in the first two months of the season he it's 10 home runs. What if he's hitting 3? 20? His O. P s is 9 90, you know, and you're seems at first place and yeah, and Kyle Davies is pitching. And so is Hendricks area has things going on well, and the Cubs are in first. What are you doing? But I think they're lifting the garage door up in there asking you if you want to come in and buy anything. Right, so that that's what I mean. Like how should Cubs fans approach this season? I mean, if we root for goodness to start are we rooting for Kris Bryant have a great year because we want the Cubs to win, and we like Kris Bryant, or we rooting for Are they rooting for a quick Chris Brian starts so they can get something for him before he leaves via free agency Because they're so far often demands. I would suggest date your team. Don't move in with your team. That's what I would say. I would suggest that you like your team, but you don't utter the words. I love you, too, your team because I think it's a weird place to be is in that when you good, Yeah. Yeah, but I'm just saying, like You can hear it in Jed's voice when you when one of the first sentences includes the term or the word financial Like it's not even to me. It's not his decision. He's been again speculating that that he's been given A certain ultimatum with regard to finances. And he's gonna have to find a way to navigate. The season with his marching orders in some way, So if I was you, I would Would be cheering for your guys to get off to a great start knowing that it's very likely that they're going to move on from them. But you're hoping that they can actually spend those guys into some valuable Young players that can either upgrade your minor league system or be guys that you build with going forward that right? That's what I want to know. And I want to know if there's a disconnect with Cubs fans right now over what you want to happen. Because if they do get off to a good start is that simply to trade them? Because then the value right now stock is low on everybody. Teams are not paying for good players right now. But in July When more people are vaccinated. Then there were people in the stands. And money's coming in. And teams are in the race. And then all of a sudden the team needs a third basement and they're willing to give you their top prospect. But you're doing well in Brian's doing well. Are you keeping Bryant in and trying to ride him as a great player that he woz to store or is that the time that you're trading him, and that's that's a weird place to be in his a fan. I don't want to see I don't want to see your heart break, so I'm just going to advise you to Don't move in with your team. But when the relationship is going well, you're supposed to move in really the odd thing. But what if what if your partner's about to move, there's a better opportunity across the country to some other town. Like anything but you're staying here. Is it to be that way You could find another job here because because money dictates policy, my brother. So you want if you're your significant other financially has another opportunity elsewhere. You're going to stay here. They're going to go there. So just don't fall in love And don't move in. Like and dates and you'll be emotionally okay. This is when hope is supposed to be at its highest How do Cubs fans feel after every year since 15 really going to the gate with hopes of it being a great year and this year if they start off great All that could mean is there sellers? We'll tell you more of what Jed had to say as well. He Told everyone why they chose area over last year. It was a talking point yesterday. 3323776. How do you feel hearing that about this team? Basically him saying, Look, don't don't fall, too in love like what? I was saying with the corps because we can't come up with agreements with these guys. There's financial things in place, and then we'll talk plenty of socks reconnoiter going to be on the show on Thursday. And Jason Benetti will be on the show today at three. He was a model in salons on ESPN. 1000, Chicago's home for Sports. The ice is gone,.

"BK. Obviously, senior ball was was last weekend, and we do know that the Broncos sent some staff down there to evaluate some of the players. Have you heard anything about what they thought when they came back? No, because I think they're just getting back and most of the scouts are regional. So they convene in mobile and they go back to the Midwest, Chicago or toe Arizona or wherever they're scouts airbase. Brian Start comes back. He's got a couple of scouts in her Based here in Denver, But those guys don't go in the office that much. So Ryan start scouting director was kind of the point person in mobile in terms of Directing traffic and it's I think, a good example of George Payton showing that he's going to delegate right. Ryan Stark was the one internal candidate they let Interview for the GM job, which meant that John and Matt Russell and Vic and Joe Alice thought enough of them toe to sit down with him and give him that chance. And the Broncos that pretty good draft last couple of years so I think that the time crunch for Peyton was such that he knew that getting down the mobile would slow down his evaluation of the players on his own, as well as his meetings with the coaches that he had last week. So he sent he sent Stark and the rest of that scouting staff down there. I think there's upwards of nine or 10 guys down there and I imagine they'll start to stack their college board after they get through. Now, once they've evaluated the entire team, and they've, you know, cut these five guys. The next thing is stacking your free agent board. And how are you gonna attack the early part of the off season? From a personal standpoint, cause that's a good thing about the draft is it happens? In this case six weeks, five weeks after the start of the league year, so I don't know if it's ah, priority other than being senior Bowl from all accounts. He was a lot different than it normally is in the NFL types that you would normally see. Kind of just carousing. And maybe that's not even the right word. But just up and down the streets and in the 45 cool bar. Cool. Put that in quotes, bars and restaurants. It just wasn't the case really is a very muted senior bowl, but it's cool that they had it. And I think that was, you know, it's only chance that protein we're gonna get in front of these kids. You know, I've been thinking about this. You know what? I don't want to happen this year. Not not now that it's I don't think that we're going to get the show on watching. I really don't think that we're gonna get in either. Don't think that we have enough Just to be totally honest with you. Didn't you know? I think whoever trades with Sean watching will have a top. I pick top three. Probably. Okay. You start off by saying we don't have enough because we're picking at number nine. We picket number nine. So if we're kicking inside the top five what you say different if we had a first round quarterback that we'd like to see play in another place. We don't have We don't have the same. Type of player that they have in Miami or that they have in New York. There's still a lot of people that believe in Sam Donald So I don't think that we have enough. I don't think we have enough. Tonto execute the trade. But I do want to say this. Then we'll get your thoughts on the B K. I don't want to see us do another deal for another quarterback at all. I don't want to see a first round pick. I don't want to see a second round pick. I don't want to see a third round pick. Four quarterback this year because what ends up happening is that if we don't win this year, I think the Broncos were in the firing the coaching staff and what do we know about the next coaching staff? They want their own quarterback. Yeah, Almost certainly. Right Unless they come into a situation like Matt. We flirted with Aaron Rodgers. Or you've got to do Shawn watching waiting for you. In theory, Right? When you're the new Texans had culture or the guy, you know, Brandon stay those who say the guy's Raina stately specifically takes over in L A because Aziz excited about Justin Herbert. I'm sure as he is about Joey bows on the other side and Irwin James, but I think it's a fair point and another point. I was trying to stress unless it's to show I watched him by the way, if it's well, sure, that's rough. Give it the transcendent. It's a transcendent talent, which is John Watson, I think is it's It's a different conversation. But this is why I tried to stress on the Broncos daily podcast and on Twitter and and now talking to you guys. Is that Because everyone's trying to figure out what exactly did the Broncos offered? Did they offer nine? Did they offer a lot? Because I mean that they hate lock. You can think that matched averages a better quarterback, which you should right now, just based on empirical data. Your lock was the 32nd, ranked quarterback out of the 35 credited starters. I think so when your rank that low and you have a turnover in every game except for the final game. You're not going to be that well regarded. That doesn't mean that he can't get there. And it doesn't mean that George Payton or Vic Fangio are Pat Shurmur hater lot. It means.

"Gary Kubiak recommends Jordan made, um So you know, there's there's I think it's honestly I think it's those two names with Terry found on third. That's what that's the way I feel and the other names are not real contenders. Dave Ziegler's not gonna get this job. Um and and so, you know, I think that if you're looking at this, and um askew go into this. There's a scenario where if you like them both. There's a scenario where you could come away with potentially both of them. Oh, I'd love that love that. Just a thought. Just something to mull around hasn't been brought up yet. I'll be gone Most. Everybody to this point is either said that they wish there were other names. Some of the bigger names that John Dorsey's of the world out there They mean, it didn't seem like that. That's really direction that they wanted to go. They didn't want to go with the Over established former GM of a team They wanted to go with one of the more the young up in coverage. And I guess that begs the question then Ben is that is that likely the best. Decision for the Broncos. They the wide net, the critical white net or a lot of guys that that haven't been G M's but have been right there and they've taken interviews, and some of them had experience with this organization. Some have not. What do you think about the neck that they ultimately decided to cast makes a good net. I think they have good candidates and there. I would not have interviewed Ziegler with the rest of them. Um, I understand what they're doing. You know you and getting a different perspective from a different organization. I think that if it's me, um You know, it's interesting to me how in this particular search people like, Well, they didn't your view people with previous GM experience. But when you get to a head coaching search, it's the opposite. They're all like We don't want to reach red. And so I find that amusing. The disparity between the two I think that all these guys have plenty of experience. They've all been around and in front office experience for a decade, plus, most of about 15 years. So you know if there's a scenario, which you could get two of these guys, you feel both of my qualified enough to have general manager If you get two of these guys in your front office to me, that's that's a no brainer. And for that, to happen would be paid. This gentle manager and champion is pro papers Now where you move up from assistant. Yeah, promotion for both right. And then that would be opportunity. And you be basically looking at the future of what would be your front office right there. George Payton has a connection to Had Sherman Yes. Uh, Champ Kelly has connections to Nick Foles and Vic Fangio and John Elway. Um, you know, And so I think that either one of those guys in the scenario where you could get both, I think are ideal. Okay, So let me ask you about Brian Stark. Who's in the in House candidate and and the right now kind of slated the interview last, which is sort of funny. The only reason I bring up is because the last two coaching hires a John Elway made corsets. Coincidently, the last people he interviewed Beings. Joseph and Vic Fangio ended up being last on that group. So I'm not saying that it's good news for Bryant Stark. But I guess if you want to make a last impression, that is where you get a chance to do that, But Let's just take this on its face here if they decide to go with Brian Stark. What does that say? Says they weren't impressed with the other candidates. Okay? Says they weren't on the same page with those guys and the in house guy was on the same page with where they wanted to go. Is that because there I think a lot of Broncos fans will be a bit underwhelmed. That's not just taking with a way for Brian Start because I think Brian start deserves opportunities as well. I mean, he's done a good job scouting for this team. He's their director of scouting, but The fact is, people will say it's gonna be more of the same in that respect in this team has been losing so people will find ways to complain about anything. Well, they've already started to complain about this group. They're under out there. Let's just say there are they even named a general manager. Yet they haven't even interviewed. All these guys had their already complaining. That's that's what that's what hater, you know, Hater. Ade gets You hate a radio. All those guys, you know? It's just rip rip everything find a way to complain about it. We're not gonna do that here. Um, the it says that they weren't on the same page. I don't think that's gonna happen. And I think that the reason you're interviewing him last because you're giving everybody a chance to, you know, to convince you otherwise and then go to the gatehouse guy. The the reason that they interviewed the head coaches last Was because they did like them. They were the prohibitive favorite little bit differently. The gentleman's situation. You look for something to replace you not submit a report to you in that regard, you know, um, a decision maker. And so John Elway had some favorites. And he decided to let the other guys interview first to convince him and move him off. That favorite not have did With this particular situation, I would suggest that it's not the same thing. Having someone go last is not the same as it was during the head coach stuff. In fact, it's coincidental. I know I'm just I'm just having a little bit of fun. This particular situation I would almost say would go the other direction. Could be favorites would've interviewed first and then well, it's certainly based on your reporting. I would say that's I would say that in the favorites interviewed first in this scenario, Okay, So you know you're the first person that's brought up the idea of of multiple guys here because you're right. It would be a promotion for both put and I, You know, I think that that is invaluable. I think that getting Smart guys like surrounding yourself with smart people is a way to be successful. You know, Find yourself smart people that are capable of disagreeing with you Surround yourself with those kind of people and you'll always be. You always do well. I don't have any year contracts. Are you looking for these guys like for whatever the GM because I mean, certainly there's a lot going on with his organization from the ownership side of things. Obviously, you're talking about eventually John Elway stepping out altogether the organization if not next year than around that time. Certain..

Nicole Yokich sent the game to overtime. Getting that long to with 17 of his game high 38 in the fourth quarter. He also had 11 rebounds and the moment he had 21 points. But it wasn't enough. The Mavericks win the 1 24 1 17. Now he's head coach Mike Malone said his squad should have won the game in regulation and overtime. You know, we're up one with seven seconds to go Give up wide open three. So you know what you need is one stop. Bottom line is I thought I first have defense was great. But I fly around mentality was great. And in the second half, we had none of that. Luca Don't match joke over 38 points for the maps to go with 13 assists in a near triple, double it nine rebounds. "And so I think it's important to have that continuity and that relationship with the GM now how much stay I think that's where it needs to come into question. I think it is. Okay for him to be in the interviews and ask questions, because I mean, he's going to be working very closely with this person in attaining players and making decisions. But when it comes down to you know when they're making the decision, say between Champ Kelly or George Payton, you know, I'm not so sure that vics word should should. Really count for whole lot. That's not saying that Vic isn't smart and shouldn't know. You know, be the person that makes that type of decision, But I think that for You know somebody like John Elway and Joe Ellis, who have been around the franchise for so long and know the direction that they want to go in and the franchise. It's important for them to make that decision, especially for a guy like Vic Fangio, who really next year could be his last season if they don't make the playoffs. You know, I think he's going to be on the out. And so you don't want to pick somebody that may not even be here after you're one of the G M, you know, first season, so I think it's okay for him to be in those interviews he needs Theo. Build. That relationship started off strong, but for him to make a final decision. I'm not so sure that that should happen. George Story of Broncos beat writer for the Gazette joining me here on drive time sports, So we talked a little bit about how I think you and I are of the same mind that John Elway is going to have at least an opinion on the future of Drew lock. If not, you know, be able to secure Drew ox future whether he even wants to do that. We don't totally know. That question, But the answer to that question, But I'm curious. Do you think that a new set of eyes on Drew lock is a good thing for Drew lock or a bad thing for Drew luck. Watching in the grand scream scheme of things in his career. I think it's a good thing I think you want to have, you know, multiple opinions and multiple voices, You know that that are telling you. Hey, I think you could work on this. That maybe you know John wasn't seeing or maybe Vic wasn't seeing whoever it may be. You know, I think that that That's good for your career. Now for his time in Denver, it may not be a good thing because somebody may come in here and let's say a champ Kelly or George Payton or Brian. Start with somebody Come in here and say, Hey, you know what? I don't think you're very good. Or I think you need to do this better. And if you don't, we're gonna We're gonna move on from you next year. Ondo. So in that sense of time in Denver may not be, um You know, benefited by a new GM, But I do think his career in the long term will be because it's just another perspective of somebody that could tell you. Hey, I think you need to work on this that maybe John can't see because you know he drafted him until he wants you to succeed so badly that he misses some of the things that maybe he's not as good at, or Vicky wants him to be good because he wants him to keep his job. You know, I think that it's never a bad thing to have more opinions in there. But a Zafar I mean, you could hire somebody tomorrow and they come in to say, I don't think you are the future and what Joe Allison Joe John Elway said is true that they're gonna have full reign. Then maybe dropped it in the starting quarterback next year for the Broncos. You know, maybe they draft a guy you know this April, or maybe they go after to Shawn Watson or Matt Stafford or something like that. So in that that's a short term. Yeah, it could be problematic for Drew. But I think in the long term and a benefit in Kansas Maybe it'll open his eyes to some of the things that he's not doing well. You know, we're just getting going Really evaluating? Especially when you talk about somebody like Trey lands. It's like we got to go back and we gotta find things entree lands and watch film and stuff like that. Some of these other guys, obviously we've gotten to see, Uh Albeit for a short season, But we've been able to see them regularly this year. From what you've seen understanding that you like everybody else will. Be doing more research and formulate more opinions as we get closer to the draft, But just right now, on January 7th how many quarterbacks in this draft would you take over Drew lock? And that's tough. Um Definitely too. I would if I could get my hands on Trevor Laurence or Justin Field. I think I do it. I think Zack Wilson is right there with him. Maybe, uh, you know, he's a guy that I think is really talented and has a shot to be really good in this league, so I would maybe put him in that category, too. Don't think I take freelance because I haven't seen him as much. Um, you know, I think that he's going to be a good quarterback. I just You know, I don't know. You know, he only played one game this last season, so it's hard to say. On Ben. I think the other one that you would even throw into any of these categories is Mack Jones on DATs, a guy that I've been saying Now, if he doesn't work his way into the first around, which you very well could I mean if Alabama goes out Implies a great national championship game and goes down test well in the combine and those sorts of things. He could very well be a person on quarterback, and he may already be one but I think he's a guy. If you can get him in the second round, you take a chance on him because I think he's a guy that can come in and compete with Ju lock from Day one. Now that's not to say that you'll be better than to lock. I think he's a He's a big product right now of all the weapons that he has around him. On. Do you know some of the lack of the defense that he played in the SEC right now on, But I know some people be mad at me for saying that, but that's the truth. But, you know, I think that he's a guy that you could look at even train lands of freelance for for some reason what to take. Um, you know, a drop into the second round. I think you might take a risk on one of those guys and bring him in because I think right now, if you can't go out and get him out, Stafford into Sean watching or you can't draft Trevor warrant. Or just infield. Then you have to stick with your lock because he is getting better. I mean, I wrote about it today. His last six games improve dramatically over the last few games of the season, and and he's taking the steps. But you know Trevor Laurence Sean watching Justin Fields maps after those guys there are generational type talent on def You could get your hands on one of them. Then I think you take the risk. But the other guys, I think you know if you can get him in a later around that maybe you take a chance, even a child Trask if you could get him in a third or fourth round Out of Florida. I think you may you may take the risk there. So, um, Wiley would never do this. But let's play the hypothetical game. Why, Matt Wylie says George, I want you for this weekend and however long a certain team last in the playoffs. You're going to go cover them for the Gazette. Which playoff team would you want to go cover?.

The Texans found their man last night because area has been Bill Bill checks right hand man in New England for over a decade. Broncos head coach Rick Fangio told Logan and Louis yesterday. What the most important thing that he wants in a GM to replace John Elway is I think the most important thing is his ability to evaluate players and see where they fit within the team moving forward. You know, that's his job number one, you know, to build the 53 man roster that's cohesive, logically, Finch based upon schemes and you know the be able to put that together using all avenues of the brothers have five interviews already scheduled. "You and I, Brian start spending some money consumer is saved during this period, more than one Trillion dollars unspent income, partly because they can't do things they used to do, and partly because they're scared to do things even they can do so. The consumer has a lot more buying power as the light moves from red to yellow to green, so the consumer will be a key part of getting us out of the mess that we find ourselves. Okay, So does that mean recovery is inside? And if so, does that mean it's safe to start taking a little more risk with the retirement funds or what is it? You know, It's funny that all these supposed Consumer experts are always just always about. We need to spend more money. Actually, it's not really that way. We need to be investing more money, because think about if you invest money. In the stock market. What are you doing? Talk. Just give me the simplified version. You think if you put $100,000 into the stock market What are you doing? You're gambling. Yeah, I know coming. That's what that's the way I loved your last Vegas trip. That's what gambling so know what. But you invest $100,000 that you buy one stock just to get a really simple Okay, so If you bought, you know Google, for example, you know, And you You put your money in there. They're able You're buying shares in the company. Right? Right. I thought there was some kind of trick question of this. Now, if I was, you know, it's that they're able to take that money and they're able to invest it into capital. It's into their company. Like if you invested in our company, right? And today I'm gonna tell you 1000 shares and you give us $100,000. I get to take that money. And we have to invest in the company. I'm able to hire another person by you know, Maura quit mint to be able to grow our business. And so investing actually helps the economy Ah lot two more than spending some A bunch of money that we don't have on cheap China goods right that our overseas that maybe help Korea and in China and India the slave labor over there in but it doesn't help us. Write it. It doesn't really help our economy here, so I think you know what really helps some people save and invest, and they do it locally, actually on a local scale and local businesses in small business, I give you example. It's a local business that you would invest it. Well, I don't mean investing in unnecessarily, but I'm saying you are spending your money here. I got it. It's like spending and what is spending on What rights? I mean? Make the effort and instead of shopping at Wal Mart, maybe there's AH local company that you can get the same thing. Maybe it's a little higher price. But it's ah, It's a higher quality and you're supporting a local business owner that just around with that money and actually buys groceries and other goods locally, So I think there's there's there's more thinking to our spending where where we spend it and how we spend it. No, I think that's good and I'm willing to do that. Brian and I think a lot of people are Like even in, you know, we're a lot of people have taken pay cuts, including myself. Yeah, I'm still willing to buy better quality and local stuff because I want to do that. My wife and I searched those places out. We searched local businesses and small businesses out because we want to support them. They're in and they support our kids, You know, football team in baseball team because they put into Are our kids sports programs. I don't want to be able to return that favor And it's inconvenient. Sometimes, too, like the last would think was a half of a cow order that we bought. I mean, I had to meet the guy in the parking lot at a certain time and bring something cooler like Amazon. That just brings it drops it off, but it's there, and it's like poop. There it is, and you open up the packaging. Now we do that as well. And some things right. You could buy some things local through Amazon, and they're certainly getting more convenient with all of that. There's some actual local farms that you can buy. Online and they ship it to your door right? And it's true from a local farm or local food, but sometimes to get the really good deals because our price per pound because all you buy that expensive, organic local being well, actually our prices way cheaper than the grocery store because we bought £300 at a time, right and direct right and our local farmers supported. Right. So he stays in business and all his dollars air pretty much local, too, because he's buying feed from the local farmer to feed his animals and everything so, but the bottom line the food's better and better for you, right and better for you. So it goes. It goes back. Sometimes a little effort right where we spend our money, I think is more important than just consumer spending. You know, let's go out. Let's go buy a bunch of junk that the kids are going to turn around. And not use. I mean, that's what we've seen with toys when the kids were going my gosh, youngest, his 13 now But when they were younger, would buy all this cheap jungle to Wal Mart and all this junk, and where does it end up? I know exactly where ends up playing the basement or or that Well, that's a couple years later or goodwill right within a year looking for tax deductions, and I'm running through the basement of the garage gone. Thrown in the trailer. It's going to goodwill or it's the dump. I mean, sometimes a trailer to before then you and I go. Didn't we just buy the two years ago? I know I just paid like 80 bucks for that thing. Yeah, and what happened to it? It broke or whatever. So I think it's finding where we're going to spend money at and invest our money. I mean, that's what should be teaching the kids today is to invest money versus spending it on a bunch of junk. I agree with that, and experiences is another thing that I think are Are so good, especially as we head into the holiday season. You know, you know, obviously in December now, but I ran across an opportunity to go on to a Big League baseball field and take batting practice. And I was thinking my kid would love that. Now it costs about the same as a play station, right? They're both pretty expensive. But I was thinking to myself If I'm gonna buy a video gaming console, Why not buy something that he and I could do together? And we would both think it was awesome and we would have those memories together forever. The PlayStation eventually is going to be replaced by the next version, and I think that's exactly what you're saying, and I think people should do that, too. But I know that's off topic but kind of the same vein. This is retired with integrity.
