The Washington commanders are four and eight on a three -game losing streak, have no defensive coordinator and their playoff hopes are fading away. Now the Miami Dolphins with one of the best offenses in the NFL are coming to town our sports director and commanders beat reporter George Wallace joins us live now to give us a little bit of hope maybe for Sunday's game right off the you top. thinking What are now George of how this is going to go? Well Michelle I mean there's a lot plenty of there's a lot of good news you just gave everybody right there with all the stuff for Washington. Look the Dolphins come in they're eight and three they're the number one offense in the NFL you've got Tua at quarterback kill me it's going to be a track meet I think for Miami's offense. The one thing I do think that you will see for Washington lot is of a times when you fire a coach in mid -season like this you will get a little bit of bump the next week as players play maybe a little more inspired you know with Ron Rivera now calling plays for the first time and maybe simplifying things as they've talked about this week but I still don't know if it's going to be enough firepower to stop the Dolphins but we'll happens see what on Sunday but Miami Miami is really good they're eight and three and they they come in on a tear right now. And we have a chance of rain in the forecast do you think that's gonna have anything to do with this? Well I could yeah it could maybe slow down Miami a little bit but most are to the running back position I mean he can he's he's really good as well but uh you far know as as Washington is concerned I'd like to see them run the ball more and they they know that they have to they've joked they've joking been around with Brian Robinson calling him a receiver now because he's not running the ball as much so they know they need to get the running game going and one way to keep drives alive and run the ball and score points and drives sustained if you're Washington is to do that and the best way the number one reason to do that is you Miami's high -powered off offense the field so it would benefit them to chew up some clock on Sunday maybe if it is raining keep the ball on the ground a little more. Of course you mentioned coach Ron Rivera wearing the headset calling plays for the defense during this game. I mean time is ticking for him what do you think is going to happen next if the commanders lose? Well I think nothing is going to happen the rest of the season. I think the move was firing Jack Del Rio and Brent Bisselmeyer last week and Josh Harris put out a statement saying the rest of the season is focusing on playing good football and and seeing what can happen so I do think that he's going to give Rivera the remainder of the season and then I think you'll see major changes come January 8th so I don't think that results at this point matter from here on out as far as Josh what Harris might do at the coaching position I think Ron Rivera is here for the final five weeks of the season. Okay and final thoughts before I let you go? I think it's just gonna be tough I mean I think that you know I the think Dolphins are nine and a half point favorite right now I think they come in and win by double digits. I think Washington may play well I as mentioned maybe a little more energy with the the coaching change a little bit but I still think it's gonna be way too much Miami on Sunday to overcome. Okay George thank you that is our sports director and commanders beat reporter Now a quick look at the top stories we're working on at WTOP Israel resumes attacks on Hamas in Gaza after a week -long ceasefire expires. "Took it in the chin in the worst ways possible. I thought you were just a chip. Just a chin. I think it was other parts of the body too. I feel sore. So really sore. Well, you went first, Jacksonville, Dallas, big comeback, and you blow it in OT. And then the Pats were like, hold my beer. What do you want to start with pats or cowboys? We can get the cowboys out of the way, because it wasn't that big a deal. I mean, we're not going the Super Bowl or anything, but, you know, dak Prescott kind of sucks right now. We don't have a second receiver. The defense plays hard when it wants to. We had Trevor Lawrence dead to rights. And you know, we lose a dumb game. And you know what? I have to be honest with you. Now I don't have to curse out my family on Christmas Eve, watching that eagles game. So if we can't win as a 5 seed against Tampa Bay, fine. Whatever. Terrible loss, typical loss. We can move on. What was what was your biggest lead in that game? 18? I think it was at 17 zero. 17. 20 to three. Something like that. Yeah. There's nothing. That's nothing. And this day and age. There was one part after the Jacksonville one and they cut to McCarthy and the sideline and he was just kind of wandering around like you just missed his bus. I didn't know where it was going. It was like, I think he forgot he had to go shake the coach's hand and then have to do a one 80 and walk out, but it was pretty brutal. My big lesson from that cowboys Jags game is just, I don't know who the third best team in the NFC is anymore. Because after Philly and then San Francisco from what we saw from Minnesota on Saturday, I certainly wouldn't give them the three spot. I wouldn't give you guys the three spot. I wouldn't give the two teams we just watched on Sunday Night, the three spot. So might just be a two team conference. Yeah, I'm not gonna argue with you. I think although I do like the way I think the Vikings are gonna get upset as the two seat. And then, well, either way, the Vikings are gonna get upset, whether a two or three seat, and then the eagles are gonna have to play with giant Seattle, Washington whoever's in there. And so the cowboys will be able to avoid the eagles in the second round. I'm getting way ahead of myself here. I'm thinking we're gonna be Tom Brady, who looked awful today. I don't know. Oh my God. I'm getting way ahead of myself here. But I somehow made this into a positive. Well, who's playing better Detroit or Dallas the last month? You would say Detroit, right? Detroit's quarterback is playing better. Detroit, I think won 7 of 8, 6 of 7. 6 in a row. 6 in a row, I think, right? They were one in 6. Yeah. Yeah. I think I'm not sure they're a playoff team. I felt like the Giants were a playoff team. Despite the way that game ended, I felt like that. If you would have told me they were the team that lost and didn't have the week off. It seemed like they were much more prepared for the Washington than Washington was for them, which was weird because Washington had just played them and then had the week off, but I know. I thought that was going to be such an advantage for Washington. You play a team, you get a buy week, you play them again. The giants were so much better coach. We have we're in a little fantasy matchup right now in the playoffs. Yeah. And I Brian Robinson. Every time they gave him the ball, he ran for between 8 to 12 yards. And the last time they gave him the ball with four minutes left, he ran for 18 yards. And then they took him out of the game. And they had first down, second down, third down Heineken fumbled, they lost it. We never saw him again. He finally comes back in on third and one because somehow heinecke didn't score on that scramble where it just seemed like all he threw was put his shoulder down and he probably would have bailed into the guy. So third and third and goal from the one, they bring rabbits and in. And then there's this goofy penalty where the wide receiver was in all the way on the line of scrimmage. Not goofy. Good call. Good call. Where are they going? Let's set the table here. First of all, you call me out on Saturday, like what's a little sissy girl? You call me out. Like, it's game two of 16 of the weekend. You're like, Sal's team sucks. I'm getting screwed. Jefferson's heard all this stuff. It was the first game. Second game. Yeah, Thursday game. I know I got a good game from kittle. I was getting lucky. Your team is better. But now I have an 11 point lead going into tomorrow night and you have Christian Watson, you're going to beat me with Christian Watson again. So none of this matters. No, you have a 13 point lead because you got the Washington fumble that they haven't counted yet. Minnesota, a much of the Minnesota game on Saturday, coming off kiddo who I thought I didn't even know was still in the league and had two touchdowns did his whole thing. Jefferson gets hurt.

"This Baker Mayfield. Oh, God. I don't know how to feel about that one. Oh boy. Yeah, I mean. Get it for me. What do we got? Well, as a court at the quarterback position, there's going to be 12 guys that I say, hey, start this guy and you're like, thanks, captain obvious. So I'm reaching down there. But last time. Hopefully, right? Yeah. So you got people, you know, Matthew Stafford could not play. Who knows what's going on in Murray. You could have a snowpocalypse in Buffalo. So you don't want to play Cleveland's quarterback. Why am I drawing a blank? Yeah. So way down there, you have baker. Last time he played in the second half of some garbage time points. He looked really good. He had three touchdowns in the second half. They're playing Baltimore. I think I'll have more opportunity for garbage points. And like I said, I was just trying to get a stretch here. So we'll see if it works out. There are 13 point hundred dog. Right now. So they're going to need to throw the ball, I guess, is your best hope there. Lots of volume leads to a few touchdowns. The offense has looked better, surprisingly, since McCaffrey left, like they're running the ball better, DJ's come alive a little bit. Now that could be PGA walker. Could be a new coaching staff could be just a different vibe in the locker room. So let's see what baker has. I think I'm ready to see Sam darnold again. Give him another shot. Yeah, right? Why not at this point? Start him too? Just start the Panthers quarterback. Anthony started the week. All right. Honda running back. She good Anthony. Good. All right. Start of the week last week for me at running back was Jamaal Williams. He had 14 points, scored a touchdown. I'll take it. My start of the week this week is going to be Brian Robinson versus the Houston Texans. So those Houston Texans, I think I've attacked him a few times this year, are still 32nd versus the rush, allowing the most fantasy points to running backs in the league. Brian Robinson had a career high 26 carries last week. It wasn't the most efficient with them. Got 86 yards and a touchdown, but in fantasy, we will take that, especially for where he's ranked. So the touches will remain high in this game, where there are three and a half point road favorites. And I think Gibson is probably also a good start this week. But it does sound like JD mckissick could be back, so I think it will eat into some of that pass catching role that Gibson has had pretty much exclusively for the last few weeks with mckissick out. And Robinson doesn't get any targets, so that doesn't affect his workload at all.

"I like that Brian Robinson looked really good last week. I think they will be able to run the ball in the packers. And then it comes down to how sloppy or packers offense going to be. We talked about all these rookies. We liked Watson's done nothing. Yeah. I don't see the Watson thing at all. And that might have been the miss at all those first rounders. But in general, it doesn't seem like he likes the team. Doesn't seem like anyone's on the same page. There's a level of, I don't know, unhappiness that I think is noticeable. And this would be rock bottom for them. Yeah, they have so much work to figure out this offense. And I don't know if they have enough time in one week. It feels like a biweek sort of a thing, especially like you spring up this Washington pass rush. Montez sweats play in really good ball this year on the edge of chase young was the name and obviously he hasn't been that Monte sweats a true number one edge rush and then Allen on the interior is going to get it done for you. This packer's line is shaky. They're not playing as well as we're used to them playing in their offensive line coach. Adam sanov is gone. He went to Denver with nave Hackett and I think that's a big part of the drop off you're seeing. And then the last dog he gave me was the Steelers, which I don't want to touch this dealers. I like the opportunity to maybe pick it the dolphins line being two juiced up. Like, oh, two was back. Everything's gonna be okay. They got problems on defense. They got problems with their line as well. I wish we were against the Steelers. Maybe I'm just still resentful because they beat the box, but I don't trust this team as far as I can throw them. So studios from here are a tough dog. But it's the juiciest one of the bunch. Plus two 70 for a team that just came off the Buccaneers is interesting. I'll go into a more with schrager, but I am really concerned about too in this game. And if you're Miami, do you use two of the way you would normally use them? Right? You don't really want them to get hit. The way they used to in the past, he would take some hits. And I don't think you want him to get hit at all. And I think the Steelers are going to know that. So then you're doing your defense accordingly, where it's like, they're going to get rid of the ball as fast as possible. They're not going to want to put him in any position to get tagged. So that makes it a little easier for them. I think they're coaching staff. They beat the Bengals. They almost beat the paths, even though trubisky was a fucking disaster in that game. The only game they got their ass kicked in was buffalo. So I think that lines too high is the thing for me. I think that line should be like three and four. We didn't talk about the jets. If it's ripping, I'm betting the jets. And I know it's a sucker bet. And you can look at any website that has where the money's going on every game. And that's like flashing red flag. Everyone's betting the jets. Stay away. Don't go down this road. Too much money on this game. And I might get sucked in. The jets aren't for real in the sense of like, they can compete in the AFC, but they are for real in the sense that the formula works. So if you play bad teams who don't have a formula, don't have a system where a mess right now, you expect them to come out on top. Now, that's my thing with a thing with rippin and why I like the jets. I have the jets from earlier in the week. I probably won't add to it, is because I would not be surprised if rippin plays the offense looks better than it did with Russ. That would not like to move a little bit, so it moves a little bit. They got Greg dulcich back as well, who was clearly very important to them to say they threw it to him a ton. I would not be surprised if this offense looks better. And Denver starts to look a little bit more like they should. And then we can all be really dramatic about that for a while. Well, with the jets too in a tease, one thing they've shown in a couple of games already this year is even if they're down 8, ten, 15, whatever. Their offense can get these quick touchdowns. They're definitely a garbage time theme. And I think that I always look at that with there's the bigger spreads. Can I get what's the team's garbage time potential? And there's some teams that are good garbage time things. I think they're one of them. All right. For sure. You have to go to another pod. Good to see you with Zoe. Good day. Appreciate you Bill.

"Particularly when you're just trading away like number one wide receivers or not. So they still have the best quarterback in the division, but between Mike McCarthy and all they've given up, you know, if Jalen hurts for like 10% better, I would really like the eagles to win the division. But I still, I like that their infrastructure a lot better. And I really don't like the direction of the cowboys are going. And so I'd probably say, you know, Philadelphia narrowly over Dallas and then I guess we can get to the other the other two organizations such as they are. But does everybody agree with that consensus or do we still have general problems more than you two? You know, I think I would have shared that assessment. I mean the cowboys have never really demonstrated or have not in recent years. I mean, hell. Not in a long time have the cowboys actually demonstrated organizational institutional resilience, right? Sort of the ability to win all the games that they're supposed to win. And I absolutely hate the amount of money they're spending on Ezekiel Elliott. And so yeah, I don't like the cowboys at all. I think the vehicles are definitely better. I mean, I do want with respect to the other two teams I would do and make two notes. I'm sure we'll talk about these. One, obviously, it's a pretty significant issue that kayvon went down with hopefully a non season ending injury. I think it's projecting as non season ending. But I do also want to not really pour out except it to my mouth. Pour out a little bit of this bourbon here for mister Brian Robinson, who was unfortunately shot on Sunday, not two hours after I drafted him into one of my fantasy football leagues. And so because of that, I'm cheering for a rapid recovery for mister Robinson. I can say little about the Giants or the red skittles. That's actually probably going to be one of your better draft picks that give recent years or the normal, even though last year you got very lucky and won the fantasy league. Yeah. So let's recap that. So last year, when first, in this very podcast, I became known as the Bengals whisperer. We do have to talk about that later, yes. And second, I did, in fact, win the fantasy football league that has a number of lawyers, guns and money contributors. Yeah, it was a sad year all around. I think that I really don't like this cowboys team. I mean, some of us that I just hate the cowboys, I guess. But, you know, the entire conversation since last year has been the, you know, the terrible and hilarious last play, or it failed play in the playoffs, where they ran out of time thanks to Mike McCarthy's brilliant coaching like stylings. I was at the gym today and I was watching ESPN at the gym, and they're in a very Prescott and that's what they're talking about.

"And i just wanted to make the bar as low as possible because my dear dear desire is that people would say. Oh i can do this i i get it i get that it's important but i don't feel qualified. I'm not a chaplain at a training at. I want to say it doesn't matter. I will give you what you need to to do this. I tell people even if you just read it. It's going to be better than nothing. And i am convinced that as people get into it themselves whether you're volunteer or a pastor or chaplain whatever as you get into you make it your own. You know you use the resources but then your own personality will come through. Because you're unique as gods created son or daughter used the resources however it works for you but it will become your own ministry to your own residents right. It's it's god's very good at customizing as we finish up here. I'd love you to pray for our listeners. Please oh thank you. Oh heavenly father who i am so beyond grateful and humbled that you are so active in the lives of people with dementia. And i'm humbled. Or not and that you love love love to reach into blasts and to shower your own spirit on all of us. So lord thank you and i pray that anybody listening to that would feel like yeah. "You are listening to the real faith stories. Podcast interviews with people who chose to boldly follow their faith. I'm your host brian robinson. Now let's meet our guest and hear their story. It's so good to have you on real faith stories. Thanks for being here. Yeah it's truly my pleasure and my joy to bigger by way of introduction. I'd like to read something that you shared with me. And it's this. Everyone has a reason to be on this planet. Every person has an identity that jesus wants them to know everyone can hear the voice of god is not just for the quote experts. God loves to speak to every ordinary person no matter where they are on this planet by the way who wrote this. That statement comes from my father. And that's what he used to tell me when i was a little boy. I'm sixty three in. My memories of those moments are still as fresh as they are right now of my father telling me those things and to make it a kind of mission in my life to get people to hear from god themselves as a boy. I began to hear god's voice from myself. it changed me hold. Were you north. I was in grade school. So around. seven eight nine. Something you were seeking proactively or resist experiences. Where started happening. I don't think i was seeking it proactively as a child but actually someone came to me a couple years ago and said that she'd had a vision about my life in there was a woman singing the voice of god into my life and i was sixty one at the time and she said i think it was your mother and it just flooded back all these memories my mom. She held me as a baby and to me. And i think that that's what happened. She sang god's voice into my life. That i would always be able to hear noah's boy so early on. I just had an awareness of his presence in his voice and there were times. When when i would just be with him kind of looking at the room kind of above my classroom are in these situations and it just you know as a child.

"You are listening to the real faith stories. Podcast interviews with people who chose to boldly follow their faith. I'm your host brian robinson. Now let's meet our guest and hear story blair reynolds welcome to real face stories. I am really grateful to be able to speak with you today. Thank you for having me on looking for jennifer several your podcast and love the content love which share and and really enjoy your curiosity. You seem to be an incredible drawer out of people's goals and what they offer. Thanks for saying that and surprise. I have a whole list of questions for you today. Oh hey we can handle that. Well i'm going to read what you wrote regarding some of the questions i asked prior to this conversation and we'll just launch from there so you indicated that you're lost in doing something that appeared incredible on the surface but it left you lonely unfulfilled and without a sense of purpose and then god gently guided you into profession where you knew you were partnering with him. I love that and you able to reveal him through his unique design of you. Could you share what you were doing. Previously that left you feeling lonely and unfulfilled. Oh absolutely first of all was that. Did you quote me on that. That's you that's hilarious. That is really funny. I i was about to say that sounds great. The for instance said that's blair. Oh my goodness great stuff. Yeah absolutely can so essentially what happened is. I've been an entrepreneur for over ten years now probably about fifteen and i was in several ventures and we had incredible favor so we would have money basically like blank checks to do things that we wanted to do. And that's of course every entrepreneurs dream has. Here's the money. Go build whatever you want. So i was trying to. I was trying to build really cool empires or castles but essentially just out of matchsticks because we were interviewing these great individuals that had done phenomenal things and essentially. I was the interviewer for them. And we'd go to these comper doesn't events and get in front of really powerful often christian people and interview them and then kinda offer that as content the world so it sounds like this ideal situation just wonderful have money to travel and the funny thing is very unfulfilling. And it's very disappointing when you have a blank check to create the life that you want and it's still not the life that you want. Wow so i did that for several years and was constantly frustrated. I told people before. I always heard that term. When you're doing what you're not supposed to do. It's like running through mud when you're doing what you're called to do. It's like water skiing and that used to frustrate me. Because i knew i was the guy mud. I was just totally aware. I'm the guy running through mud. But i don't know how to get out of it. And then god very gently nudged me with one of our products and basically he said. I'm going to let you offer either life consulting session or a business consulting session as part of the products that we're offering in one person shows the life insulting session..

About 15,000 fans in attendance. Yes designed run for Justin Fields was a great call on Ryan Day on a great read by Justin Fields. Look, if he's not going to be a 100% throwing it he's got to be able to contribute with his legs does have three carries for 62 yards, so expect them to go back to that well in the next ride. For the Buckeyes will kick off a Christmas the counter handling that duty for the first time this year without their top two faced kickers, Dutilleux covert tests, good kick and a fair catch made by General Billingsley near the five yard line on the far sideline. Six of his career. There is a three horn biceps and a Tauron Achilles tendon. Vontae Smith still on the sideline, walking around without his helmet on with his right hand with a towel over perhaps some ice on what looked to be a dislocated finger. Brian Robinson remains the unindicted very tight formation. Jalen while emotional after pressure from the right waddles open on the left sideline catches, the past goes out of bounds shy of the first down. By about two yards, and that will set up third down. Ohio State hasn't been able to stop them. Except for one turnover fumble recovery by the Buckeyes defense in the first half of that, Jones lost a fumble for the first time in his career. They gotta stop here, get the ball back and score. We have a game third down into that half smart.

He tried to get it to the Vontae Smith and outside linebackers Shane Simon got a hand up to knock it down to bring up second down. 10 shades. Sermons had an excellent second half here for the Notre Dame defense didn't make a lot of plays early on. In Alabama, still able to move the ball. And just since there's no doubt in Alabama's game, they don't fear they're not getting the next first down or a touchdown at all. It was a rare incompletion. They're buying from that Jones 22 27 now six. So he now has more incompletions in touchdown. Pass. Yes, right for at least a little bit here way shall see four touchdown passes. Another handoff out shotgun right up the middle. Nothing going. Notre Dame's front was there. Brian Robinson, Big backup running back at 612 28, his first Carrie Howard Cross defensive tackle made that play. Now it's third down and nine as we hit the 14 minute mark in the fourth quarter. Crimson Tide up 28 7 on Notre Dame. This is This is a pride stop coming up for Notre Dame's defense if they could get it. This is an end the game drive and first down If Alabama have success here on third down whenever Notre Dame gets the ball back in book who went off the field and into the chance late in the third quarter has been on the sideline, warming up so all signs pointing in book Coming back third down and nine for Matt Jones on the near hash in the shotgun. Three wideouts to his right drops back throws over the middle, complete across the 25 tackled at the 23 yard line. Kyle Hamilton was there right away. Before Julia Billingsley and a little hook over the middle of the field, and that'll bring up fourth down and four again an excellent job by Notre Dame's defense, not allowing the ball to go to Devante Smith, forcing Mack Jones to go through.
