"You spot a major incident that we're not already reporting, call the WTO pay traffic setter at 8 6 6 three zero four two. That's 8 6 6 three zero four two. This is where a little sports this morning D.C.'s attorney general is filing a civil consumer protection lawsuit against the Washington commander's owner Dan Snyder, the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell. AG Karl Racine says this week the team and league violated D.C. consumer rights based on what they knew about the organization's workplace misconduct, further alleging that Snyder lied about his knowledge of the situation. Sports guru George Wallace was outed practice this week has reaction this morning from players and coaches alike. It's every week we're asking players about something that's happening off the field. And to their credit, they say they have been able to shut things out on the off the field stuff and the outside. But I think it became a little more personal this week when they team released a statement mentioning Brian Robinson in reaction to the press conference. And players were very upset. There's no reason for Brian Robinson's name to be brought up in a team statement. And they're trying to keep the focus on the football field, but it's getting harder and harder to do. And the leaders of the team say that Ron Rivera is doing a good job trying to keep the focus on the field. But every week he has to spend time in team meetings, talking about stuff like this. And that's taking away from what they're trying to do on the field. So how is the team responding to this, George? Because and I know you've said before, they're like, no, it doesn't matter which is playing football. But come on, it's got to impact them. It does. It does. And they said they can't let it impact him. But I think it does. Even Charles Leno said, we, of course, we want to be PC about this, but of course it's annoying and it's frustrating that this keeps coming up and that they mentioned Brian Robinson's name. Shouldn't have even been brought up in a statement from the team. So it's again and they have to answer questions from the media when they're getting ready to play the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. And that's what should be the focus, but it hasn't been as we all know for quite some time. But they do have a good locker room. They do have leaders in this locker room, veterans that are trying to do their best to keep the young guys and everybody else focused and they do all credit, Ron Rivera for what he has been able to do. I think we're going to learn a lot about this team this week, how they respond Monday night and what Ron Rivera is able to do. George, maybe I'm putting you on the spot just a little bit. But I want to talk about the team president Jason Wright. So he was brought in year plus ago to sort of try to clean up the image of the team. Now this statement comes out, then he comes out and tries to back off some of this, particularly about the Brian Robinson part of it. He's a guy caught in the middle, isn't he? He is. And he's having a hard time doing his job. The thing I would say, if he didn't know the first statement was coming out, to me, that's a problem. If he's the team president, doesn't know that the team is releasing a statement that which obviously didn't come from the team, it came from outside. Then that to me is a problem because they're going over Jason Wright's head is to your point of what he was brought in to do and he's been out front of a lot of these things along with Ron Rivera

"Good evening, I'm Dmitri sodas. And I'm Michelle bash. We are following three major developments with the Washington commanders. There is a new investigation of how the team has handled its finances and there's been an arrest in connection with the shooting of running back Brian Robinson junior last summer, more on all of that just ahead. But first, let's talk about this possible sale of the Washington commanders depressed and says the snyders have taken a major step in that direction. Washington commander's owner Dan Snyder says in a statement he remains committed to the team, but the franchise owner and his wife Tanya announced that they have hired Bank of America's securities to consider potential transactions, which could mean anything from adding minority shareholders to selling the franchise, which Snyder purchased a majority stake in from the estate of Jack can cook in 1999. Forbes magazine values the commanders at $5.6 billion. Dave Preston WTO news. The NFL tells WTO any potential transaction would have to be presented to the NFL finance committee for review and require a yes vote from 24 of the 32 teams in the league. We will talk to Cindy Bourne of The Washington Post about the possible sale of the team coming up. But as we mentioned, there are more breaking developments involving the commanders. The U.S. attorney's office in the eastern district of Virginia has opened a criminal investigation into allegations the team took part in financial wrongdoing. This comes from a couple sources familiar with the matter. They are speaking with ESPN tonight. The sources say prosecutors are focused on several areas, the inquiry was triggered triggered rather by a letter that the House oversight committee sent to the Federal Trade Commission and several attorneys general back in April. They all had to do with possibly deceptive business practices by Dan Snyder and his team. And attorney for the commanders tells ESPN tonight these allegations are simply untrue. Our third big commander story this evening, a 17 year old has been arrested for shooting rookie Brian Robinson junior as Metropolitan Police say they're looking for two others who took part, WTO dick giuliano reports. Running back Brian Robinson was shot in the leg in the August attempted carjacking. GC

"Time once again this mid 9 hour 1245 in Robb's turn. On a long day filled with controversy swirling around the team's owner, the Washington commander's finished it with a 12 7 win in Chicago to snap a four game slide in though Carson Wentz was held to just 99 yards passing and took three sacks. Brian Robinson scored the go ahead fourth quarter touchdown in his first NFL start and told Amazon Prime after the game. We silenced all of that. We come in our every day and you'll find ways to get better, man. And we hear it. It don't matter. You know, 'cause we don't always gotta come out and we gotta perform. We gotta come in day in and day out and they find ways to improve and get better. The defense certainly did Jonathan now and snagged his first career interception and one of 5 sacks of Justin Fields for a unit that held the bears to zero for three in the red zone. In response to the off field news of the day, Amazon Prime played by play announcer Al Michaels spoke out against Dan Snyder during the broadcast. And after the game, the crowd in Chicago chanted sell the team. The capitals are off to an zero and two start to the season for the first time in 9 years falling three two in Toronto, Charlie lindgren made his cap's debut in nets getting 36 saves and faced a whopping 20 shots in the first period alone. They came out flying. Like I said, I got a great crowd here and I think they probably fed off that a little bit and they're really talented team. And so I knew they were going to get their chances and our guys did a really good job now as well. Just staying in the fight and giving us a chance to win. The caps now zero for 9 in the power play to start the season, the Yankees and guardians were rained out and Houston a four two winner over the Mariners to shift the series to Seattle with the Astros leading two games to none. "You got? Well, we've got some updates on Brian Robinson, the year running back shot yesterday in D.C. tweeted this morning that surgery went well as he is out of surgery in the hospital, Ron Rivera speaking after practice today said that he did have a chance to see him last night and he was in good spirits immediately called him to let him know what he was going to be okay. So that is the good news after yesterday, as far as on the field the team had a meeting this morning. They're explained what happened, and that he was going to be okay. So they went out and had a decent practice, he said, when since Ryan river has been here, let's be honest, there has been a lot of adversity that he's going to have to deal with. So how's he been able to balance? It's about focusing on what's important as opposed to what's interesting and this is important. And that's why I'm wearing the shirt that I'm wearing today because this is important. And to the point earlier that it really doesn't hit home till it hits home. So you really just try to get these guys to understand that it is life is very precious. And you've got to make every moment of every minute and do the best you can with it. And again, there is a delineation as to what is important and what's interesting. And the team is not ruled him out coming back this season waiting to hear from doctors again, rosters have to be down to 53 by tomorrow at four, so they could place him on the non football injury list, which would mean about four games, minimum. "News, and on this week in review, we'll head to the city where the heat is on. In Miami, we've known heat forever, right? People move here for the hot weather. Yes, Miami, the city has a chief heat officer. We look at what that job is and if Atlanta needs one. That's later in the show when we continue our ongoing series, the heat effect. But first, the city of Atlanta and Fulton county say they've agreed to temporarily lease up to 700 beds from the city's detention center to alleviate severe overcrowding in Fulton county jails. As Christopher alston reported this week that includes the notoriously overcrowded rice street jail. Fulton's sheriff Patrick labat has described conditions at the jail as a crisis that's left detainees sleeping on the ground. Atlanta mayor Andre Dickens says the move will allow Fulton the time to find a long-term solution. Officials say the four year deal still needs to be approved by the Atlanta city council and Fulton commissioners in the coming weeks. A coalition of organizations opposed to incarceration responded by saying the proposal flies in the face of the plan backed by Dickens to turn the jail into a center for community services. Mayor Dickens says the plan to repurpose the jail will be unaffected by this agreement, and the center is on track to open in 2023. Christopher alston, W ABE news. Less than a week ago, music midtown was telling fans to count down the days until its return to Piedmont park mid September. But on Monday, the festival was canceled with little explanation organizers said, it was due to circumstances beyond their control, Atlanta journalist George sheedy was the first to report the cancellation is related to Georgia's gun laws and the festival's inability to prohibit guns. Our political breakfast team of Lisa ray and Brian Robinson and Salva long filling in fourth there. Johnson has some thoughts on that subject. Democrats are using the moment to blame Brian Kemp for this and his extreme gun agenda, quote unquote. Well, this wasn't even Brian Kemp's Bill. This wasn't something he signed in to law. The 2014 bill allowed for the carry with permit on public lands for events. And I think what brought this about was gun rights activists were threatening to sue in order to make sure you could take a gun or a weapon onto the grounds with you and that. That caused all this. Yeah, so my first thought, I live near Piedmont park. So I was like, oh, well, I guess that will be a quiet weekend. But I don't see why you need firearms when there's a packed crowd, folks are drinking, probably doing drugs, hanging out, having a good time. I don't see why anyone would need a firearm. The last thing I would say about this is around constitutional carry about around who should be able to have a firearm in public. Really, there's only one class of people that I would want to have firearm in public. And that's police. And I imagine that if you privately talk to because I have done this, if you privately talked to law enforcement folks, they're not at all comfortable and happy with the constitutional carry Bill. Because it just makes their life that much more difficult. And so at the end of the day, what I would like to see as a private citizen in air quotes, Brian. Is common sense gumballs. That's all, I think that the average person wants is, what is the common sense approach to this? In guns and a festival is not common sense. That's just a snippet of our political breakfast podcast. Get it wherever you get your pods. Well, some Atlanta students were back at school this week, but as Martha Dalton reported, families could be surprised by changes to the school meal program. When the pandemic started, federal officials made meals free for all public school students regardless of income, that program expired in June, Congress did extend it through the summer, but not the upcoming school year. That means families in Atlanta public schools and Cobb gwinnett and Clayton counties who start school this week will have to apply to get free meals. Those who aren't eligible could qualify to pay a reduced price of about 40 cents. The agriculture department estimates 30 million children receive free meals during the last school year compared to 20 million before the pandemic. Martha Dalton, WAB news. We now have fewer than 100 days until election day in Georgia and across America, as WAB politics reporter Raoul valley told us that is both extremely long in politics terms, but right around the corner for many. Elections analyst Niles phrases as the economy abortion and gun rights are the issues leading the way in poles of Georgia voters. The economy appears to be in the driver's seat in terms of important issues. So I guess you could say that if we get more positive economic news in the next couple of weeks and months, maybe the outlook won't be as grim for Georgia Democrats and Democrats nationwide. But abortion is also turning into a pretty dominating issue as well. Francis believes abortion could energize women and moderate Republican voters, but in the end he believes the November elections in Georgia will be decided by base democratic and Republican voters. In a swing state like Georgia in Osaka is evenly divided as Georgia, almost everybody knows how they're going to vote almost everybody knows which party they'll be voting for in November. It's the question is which side base is more energized to vote. Now on paper, you would say Republicans. But swing state like Georgia, nothing is predictable. Francis says he'll also be carefully watching young voters. Raoul valley W a B news. You're listening to WB's weekend review with me Alex helmet. "And i just wanted to make the bar as low as possible because my dear dear desire is that people would say. Oh i can do this i i get it i get that it's important but i don't feel qualified. I'm not a chaplain at a training at. I want to say it doesn't matter. I will give you what you need to to do this. I tell people even if you just read it. It's going to be better than nothing. And i am convinced that as people get into it themselves whether you're volunteer or a pastor or chaplain whatever as you get into you make it your own. You know you use the resources but then your own personality will come through. Because you're unique as gods created son or daughter used the resources however it works for you but it will become your own ministry to your own residents right. It's it's god's very good at customizing as we finish up here. I'd love you to pray for our listeners. Please oh thank you. Oh heavenly father who i am so beyond grateful and humbled that you are so active in the lives of people with dementia. And i'm humbled. Because i think for myself and for others again our vision can be too small for what is possible glory. Would you expand our vision of your love for people all people whether they have what we would consider typical cognitive ability. Or not and that you love love love to reach into blasts and to shower your own spirit on all of us. So lord thank you and i pray that anybody listening to that would feel like yeah. That's something i want to do. And could do lord that you would give them the hope and the vision and the excitement of the blessings that they will see as they are. Dear dear elders. Thank you lord.
