Parents whose children were part of the highland park high school lockdown a few weeks ago want metal detectors installed as soon as possible. Do your job. The district has armed school resource officers at both highland park and Deerfield high schools and added 6 unarmed security guards for this school year. In addition to a new system that requires students to scan in each day. These parents argue none of that deterred a student from bringing a gun to school three weeks ago. Some board members did seem open to the idea of adding metal detectors even when similar districts in the area don't have them. The district will hire a director of security who will be in place next year. Now that Cook County states attorney Kim Foxx has chosen not to seek a third term in 2024, the conversation shifts to who will take over in about 18 months, former Cook County state's attorney's office chief of staff Dan Kirk says he's considering a run. We're going to need somebody who has the experience to know how to run the office correctly with an eye toward justice and accountability with an eye toward keeping morale high or restoring moral because it frankly it's eroded. "So they could have transferred me to D.C.. So even if I didn't want to send me to Philly, they could have sent me to D.C. because I passed the group soup test. Because that would have been a GS 13. No, that would have been a 14. 14. And this is back in O 7. So I could have been a 14 at headquarters too. And they didn't take that into consideration. So I end up I get a job later on my buddy, he's like, hey, look, I got a buddy, he's a manager over in ice, ERO, enforcement removal operations. You want to go over there and be a deportation officer. I can't fuck it. Gets me back into Homeland Security, that gives me back and I doing something. Get you back into 1811, right? This is 1801. 1801? Oh, okay. One is like 18 O ones like all encompassing. It's still law enforcement. Some of them are law enforcement, some of them are not. It gets you back into the electoral real law enforcement world. Supposedly. So I go over there and I become a deportation officer in Philly. And at the time, I was working a docket meaning helping trying to figure out how to deport people at reviewing cases and everything. I do that for a while. I get onto the squad that does the ankle bracelet. I learned how to do all the ankle bracelet stuff. The GPS monitoring of the criminal aliens. And then I become a supervisor in Delaware for a fugitive operations. So I become a fugitive operation supervisor and at the same time I take this gig as with the executive leadership program and that gets me back into the world of drugs because for my leadership TDY, I do 90 days in Camden haida. So I go, I go to work with one of my really good buddies, who's at the time and I special agent and we work drugs in Camden. For 90 days, doing jump outs and shit, holy crap. I just heard a little bit of a hint of a joyous accent when you said Camden. So did you have a good Jersey accent when you left Jersey? Oh, you know what? I forgot to tell the story about being in Minnesota. So I go to when I'm in college in Minnesota, backtrack here and 15 year whatever 5 years. I get to Minnesota and I go to get a glass of water. Water. Water. And I said this, I can not say water. So the lady's like, what? Water? I'm like, water. She's like, we don't have any of that. And we're a soda. They'd be like, pop. Everything's popular. So yeah, the Jersey, when I get around my brother, I have another brother, Brian. Brian piccolo. Whenever I get around him, it's like, even our text messages are like, boom, bro we start talking Jersey all day long and I'm like so what exit did July off of? Exit 12. "We decided to kick off this new year. We're going to have some, we're going to go deeper on some stories and some things that have a lot of impact. We're still going to have a lot of fun. Don't worry. We're still unpaid the highest unpaid comedian. You'll ever meet. But what we want to do is bring on some really good stuff. Now, when I first heard this guy's name, all I could think of was Brian's song. He's not in his head, he knows. Jason piccolo, welcome to game of crimes, bro is adjacent or is it Brian? How many times during his conversation? Are you going to call me Brian? That's what I want to call you, Jason, because Jason is the name of my oldest son, so I'm not going to forget that. Okay, now I do have a brother named Brian piccolo, so he was born in a 60s. I wonder where he got that name from. You never know. Maybe I'm related. When I was a kid, that was probably the only movie I remember crying at Brian's song, you know, it's like, don't let him fool you there, JC cross here on the show all the time. It's a Titanic. The movie heat. All the movies you can try. Well, whenever I give him a hard time about being a trooper, you know, brings a tear to his eye. Yeah, because I realize how ignorant and uninformed you are grown up in the hills of Tennessee and West Virginia Murphy and it breaks my heart. But I'm proud of you that you made it so far in the federal government. And you gotta throw down case. You caught one guy and you've been living off that ever since. Rhino home brother? You can work the job or you can let the job work you. Well, before we get too far afield, hey, Jason, so let's talk a little bit too like we do with everybody. Cosa Nostra thing of ours. How did you get started in this? I mean, again, like I asked people where you just drunk one night walking around in your underwear ended up being recruited. I mean, you know, what was your path, you know, going up through school, you know, and before you got into this thing, we call law enforcement. Well, you know, it's not like the agency where you do get drunk and they find you in a bar. Like, this guy's got some skills. No, that would be Secret Service and Columbia. Oh my gosh. Let's not even talk about when that happens. It's never when that happened. A lot of the guys were here in Ashburn. All the news vehicles. Anyway, let's go back to you. Yeah, now you have me thinking about Colombian those guys. It's like, oh my, you're giving up your GS 13, hundred and $1000 plus job a year, just pay, just pay it, you know? And if everybody doesn't know about it, just go just Google Secret Service Columbia. Hey, you know, so I was not a stellar student growing up. But life gets in a way sometimes.

"A book by guile sayers, now Gale seers was a running back for the Chicago Bears and many people would not have remembered him. He wrote one of those made for TV movies called I am third, and it was the story of Brian piccolo, who was a another running back for that team at that same time who ended up very sick with cancer and ending up dying. So gales concept was I am third. God is first, my Friends are second, I am third, and that still is a book that people should look up because it really gives the message that I think is very important. Yeah, I love it. I have to check that out. I've never heard of it. No, it's, again, I'm a very old person. So it's still out there. I just looked it up on Amazon, so it's something that is definitely there. Awesome. Okay. Sir, how can people get in touch with you and how can they get your book and repeat the name of your book? So my book, I don't know if I said it. It's the title is live longer, feel better and look great naked. And you know, I just rereleased it as an ebook. I wrote the book in 2014, I think, and I did 2021 updates because I've changed a lot and learned a lot over the past 8 years. And so I turned into an ebook and your audience can get it for free. They can go to free naked book dot com. And yes, that is the URL. I thought it was funny, but be careful type in it and you might get something you don't want. So yeah, just go to free naked book dot com. They can get it instantly. It'll be like, this will be sent to your email. And it's exactly what I do at 47 years old, you know, to still have the abs, you know, which, you know, is important, but not as important.

"All the stuff in 2022 and wherever the world's going. Levine and I would stupidly take on that challenge. I mean, I would stupidly try and know I think it would be very difficult, but I would totally stupidly try. Yes. I don't want to step on the roller. I don't want to step on the roller ball pod, but I do think that movies, I think when a movie is 50 years old, I'm ready to at least discuss the remake. Except for maybe The Godfather, that's it. And ignore that there was one. That movie's old. I still love it. But yeah, it's old. I get it. I feel like jaws is untouchable. There's some untouchables. That is. Don't enjoy them now. You can't touch them. The Godfather can't be touched. Look, I think that the thing is, it's funny, you know, yes, of course, James Caan isn't Robert Redford and to say it isn't fair. But on the other hand, sunny Corleone is up there or maybe surpasses anything that readford ever did. It's certainly up there. I mean, Sundance. He played Sundance kid and three does the condor and whatever, but Sony Corleone is that's why it is as great and as important and as exciting and as memorable and as singular movie performance as has ever been put down on screen. And one guy did that. And that guy is James come. Well, that's the thing. If you go Mount Rushmore for best characters he played, you'd have to have sunny Corleone, absolutely. We'd have to have Jonathan oh. I think you have to have Brian piccolo. And then the fourth one is either Frank from thief. Or the guy from the gambler, depending on which movie you'd like more, but that has to probably be the top four. More important movie to me, but you'd have to go with these probably. But if you really passionately made a game board case, I would accept it. But just those four characters, which James Kahn has just dripping all over each character, right? De Niro as Jake LaMotta, narrows Rupert pumpkin, like becoming a different person. As you said earlier, James Connor was always James con in the movie in some way. He was going to veer too far away from James Caan. But those four characters, you could put against any guy from that era. I was thinking that testosterone went another one was remember that Clint Eastwood movie, what was it every which way but loose with the ape? Yeah, of course. Yeah, of course. Which basically just Clint in the sleeveless T-shirt just kind of drive around a chuck. He's doing bare knuckle fights, and that's the plot of the movie. And he was fucking great. They made a sequel, but it was like, nobody has charisma like that anymore. I guess maybe now that you just put a marvel cape on him. Two things not to leave out. I think one, who he was in the

This man just came on your court. Stopped on the damn leprechaun until y'all to go to hell and you hugged him like your next sandwich. So you get upstairs and he Brian piccolo. Yeah, I mean, really. That was really upset me about the whole Kyrie thing. You got Kevin Garnett, talked about. He said, wait a minute, cornbread. Carrie Irving was the, from a skills standpoint, the best guard, the subject I've ever had. At that position. I don't think nobody's going to argue that. Skill set is ridiculous. But what he did and it pissed me off. When I saw him go to the leprechaun, stomp on it like he was wiping shit off his shoes, I'm like, are you serious like he mad at Boston for something? And nobody said anything? No, that's the thing. I don't see it. Like, I just think you're right. Max, these dudes have to take the next step and be some dogs. And I mean, I have my favorites, but let's let's hear your 749 7800 the big £1.700 on a TNT. Let's get to Steve. First on a cell a Steve. Thanks for holding buddy. What do you have? I love this scene. You guys There's not a time during the month. It seems that you guys don't make me laugh. So hard that I kind of start crying about different topics, so I really appreciate you guys a lot. That's actually a good man. But up. But I got it a few times. I think there's two really good movies out there. One One is quite hilarious and because back several years necessary roughness Great movie with Sinbad back Candy Ireland. Yes, Yahoo is losing them. I remember that. Remember it, but I remember who's in it. It's got Dracula. He did Okay. Just quantum leap and then bats in that And then one movie, I think is really, really good, because it kind of relates Theo even our our home team because we got at least one player off. It is money ball with Brad Pitt. Mm. And how he was a good one. Yeah, that was good. That came out of nothing and then created a championship team that people just basically disregarded this player. See, That's the thing and thanks Steve isn't like That's one of those. I talked my wife into watching. And here's Here was my sale. Here was my sales space to her was like it's got Brad Pitt. She's like I'll give it a shot. So you don't have any James. Okay, I'll watch it. That's my Yeah, that Z. That's a damn fine movie. Really, if you've never seen check that one out. It is good but great call unnecessary roughness. By the way, I was with Sinbad Sinbad, by the way, when we got our Super Bowl rings, the like the summer after winning it at our ceremony. Sinbad was the performer like he did like a comedy thing. He was awesome. It was great. Like you were in the movie with the football was great, and he's like, Yeah, that's right. Did you? Did you like? Talk to him? I mean, did he autographed football for years? Some such shut up my picture with him? No, it was good enough. Let Zoe go back to the phones Rick and Ludlow, your thoughts on best sports movie. Well, first off the best sports movie and raided all time, the number one guy movie of all time was slap shot. And it was rated the number one guy movie of all time because they actually had a topless scene for no apparent reason. Granted, I mean that that movie is freaking awesome. Paul Newman. And you pick up that movie any time and just giggle every time you see and you know all the lines, you know everything that's going to happen in it, But I will say this, the late Jim Bunning Said. The most accurate baseball movie of all time that tells you what it's like to be in a baseball game is for the love of the game with Kevin Costner. I've not seen that one. Great that moving, but I don't think I never saw it. Well, the movie starts out and it's Philip Chapple lightness career, Kevin prosector. You know they're trying to figure out whether the Tigers they're going to straight him betrayed him or not, And he goes out doesn't have much juice left in him, but throws a perfect game. And the movie is mixed up with all the things that's happening in his love life in between. It's kind of a love story. But Jim when Jim saw the baseball side of it, he'll he always told me that was what it felt like to stand on the mound. And look around in the sixth inning and you're Patrick about and you look at your chest and go. There's anybody been on base yet, you know, and I have not seen the whole movie, but I saw the end. I love that scene not to give it away where he just kind of talking to himself. He said. You know what? I've never prayed to God about making me pitch. Well, something that a fag you always felt it was pretty frivolous. But, Lord, if you could make the pain in my arm, go away. Go away. More bitches, right? I was unbelievable. Unbelievable. You know, Sr I love that. Yeah. Jim. Jim always wondered if part of that was based upon his perfect game against the Mets, because Chapel was wearing 14, and there were some other similarities. There was a Diving play in the infield, just like Tony Taylor had a diving grab saved. Jim's perfect game is that there was a lot of similarities in the movie. But he said, it's just like that when you're standing on the mound. Nobody wants to talk to you. Nobody wants to look at you because you got not only a no, no going, but you got a perfect game going. That's great. A rig. Thanks so much, buddy. Let's go to a shame in Bethel. What do you have? Shame We're going back. Thief. I'm going tol Mr. Destiny had Jim Belushi and probably 1991 ish yourself. Uh huh. Remember that move again? I don't think I saw it. What's that about? It was basically him as a child or a kid. I should say, and he was in a pivotal moment where he needed the clutch hitting. He struck out. So years down the road. He strolls into a bar, and I can't remember if there was Richard Barton. Michael Caine. There this bartender as a tic tac toe little grease that he takes that Put them back of what would have happened if he had it Now His lifestyle will change on those kind of Ah, you know, good comedy. There's um, a good life. Hey, F Y eyes. Let destiny be the way it is. It's a movie title, but yeah, he gets the high life. Really rich lifestyle, But yet it cumbias kid basically completely falls apart. And he realized that saved miss in the midst of a typical like that wasn't so bad after all, So I think I'd like that. No, I think I saw part of the end. Thanks, Shane. Let's go to very in Indiana. Gary, what do you have? All right. I gotta get a tie between Brian Piccolo and Cherry McGuire. I remember wires great. Just that That really is good. It's all right, Piccolo. When, but Gary I don't I guarantee of Rocky. Have you ever seen Brian's song? Brian's song I have. "You're not gonna get a disagreement for me. So, Hey, I was very, very fortunate to develop a relationship with Audie Dica already saying scales, wife and still friends to this day, and he went into the basement of their home and Wacker Russo, Indiana. You can believe that. It's like the NFL Hall of Fame and already said the only two people during the last five years when, when the comet struggled. That's still in touch with her every week calling What do you need? What can I do for you? Well, coach Ditka on Michael Jordan, while all those two Chicago legends obviously and dick in Jordan and Gil say was to thank you, Jimmy Gill, of course, died a couple of months ago, but he was a great running back. For the Chicago Bears. And and, of course, the movie Brian's song, which still makes me cry every time I watch. It really depicts the change in the NFL. You know, we've talked to Roy White. You talk about Hank Aaron. These guys couldn't stay with white players couldn't stay in the hotels and the first black and white guy in a room together in NFL history. Were the whole of theme running back Gale saviors. And Brian Piccolo, who was a great running back at Wake Forest, then went on to play with Gail in Chicago, and they room together. They had a great love story that what he did, and of course in the movie Jim Jim con Jimmy Caan. He plays Brian Piccolo when he dies of cancer, and Billy Dee Williams, who plays Gale Sayers. He's up there when? When James Caan's character is the real person, Brian Piccolo basically the end of his life, and he's receiving an award and he starts to cry and he goes. I want you all to hit your knees tonight. And pray. For Brian Piccolo, as I'm saying, this about getting very much and it is. It's an unbelievable movie about a true story. Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo how black men and white men because of sports folks that politics, not sports. Able to not just co exist. But love each other. Yeah, well, take that. LeBron take that LeBron and, uh yeah, the rest of you haters out there. Speaking of haters, you know, I talked about the policeman who got shot in the Bronx last night of plainclothes guy. He was on anti gun patrol up in my old neighborhood and sound. You were near. Where are my mayo? Does familiars got killed right near there on White Plains road, Believe it or not. Anyway stopped a guy and he guy with a gun in a car. Guy's got priors up the wazoo. In any case, he got shot in the back. As I said before, Mayor how to get out of bed last night. Go to the hospital. You know, he was annoyed like hell. He did not want to do that. But he put on a good face, I guess. That wench was there as well. And Pat Lynch, always fiery and always right on the money. I love what he said. Listen to him. Stop acting like we're trying to reinvent the wheel. Leasing is simple, good guys and their diet. Wait a good guys to go after the bad guys appointed that we hear again. It's one of the good guys and shot. One of the good guys has been shot. I mean the way, he said. He just he just nails. It is very brevity is the soul of wit. You know, he's If he's right to the point. I mean, quotable. Met him outside here When John and Margo catch him a TT's. We had that great day with the cops. You remember? And Pat was there and spoke Shook hands took pictures. I never met him before. And love them. Just love them. You know, he's one of my favorite guys in the city. He really is..

Okay, What's going on around town? The I don't blame me. Anyway, uh, to kick this thing off. I just want to mention everybody knows about Tommy Lasorda. Who passed away all of the sitting here. Big baseball fans, and I've told a quick story about Tommy the sword up. I was going to Oriol Dream Week. This is, I think around 1995. And instead of taking a direct flight from Baltimore to Tampa, which we would normally take T get to the Complex and Sarasota. Uh, We flew to for some reason. This year that year, we flew to Cincinnati first pick up the plane and then and then the Tampa So we get to the airport. Cincinnati and we're sitting wait for our flight for Tampa and This time. It was sort of sitting. He's going on the same flight. We are because he's going to Tampa and And he sees all of us with Auriol Gear on and came over to us and said, Well, you know what do you guys doing? Where you going? To sum over going down toe. To the dream week. He sat there for at least 45 minutes. Told every story. I mean, some of the greatest baseball stories you ever wanna hear. Signed autographs was like he was like holding court guy was just amazing guy. Very friendly, very congenial. I'll never forget that. So that was my brush with With Tommy Lasorda. And now that I've brought that up, I think maybe the theme for our show today will be baseball movies. Call in and let us know what your favorite baseball movie is. And I have a bunch of my no IRA does that of you and and probably a few stories about encounters with players. And managers and And I'm sure that it'll be an interesting show. Now I'm gonna turn it over the air is going to give us the, uh The trivia question. The first one probably have more than one and What's playing in the theaters? Good are okay. The tribute question this week is Bird cage, who was the director of bird Cage. And if you can name two of the three stars, you went to passes to Horizon Cinemas, either Fallston. Aberdeen or Beltway s. Oh, good luck. And the Yeah. What we're playing in the movies in our theaters or his wonder woman, promising young woman. One night in Miami. Crude's We're playing despicable me and secret life of pets and monster hunter. The films that are coming out in January. Next week. It's going to be the marksman with clam, decent action film that one that's gonna be good re release of Emperor's new groove. On the 29th is Denzel Washington's movies, Little things that's supposed to be very good on February. The fifth is Cinderella. On the 12th. It's Judas in the black Messiah. Um When the 28th you've got time and cherry. Everybody remembers if you're older and 60 common, Jerry. They used to be cartoons, but now they made a full length movie when it And nobody, Uh, eyes coming and the United States against Billie Holiday's coming that day, so there's three good movies coming out on the 28th. So is that a documentary that Billie Holiday was no, That's a regular movie. So okay, great. Well, Seated. Our friend, Captain Kravitz is on the line. So let's take his call. He didn't wait. Much time Video had captain and we're really talking about baseball movies. You want to talk about football movies, but go ahead. Yes. Well, hi guys. It's football season. You know now that we're in the height of the football season, especially the viewing season. So I'd like to talk about football movies. Briefly. Well, you know, I don't want to go give a green but you know, I'd like to go by seasons. Anyway. The captain's favorite football movies. My number One movie is Brian's song. Was 1971 movie. And the question to you guys. Is it based on a real true story? Yes, it is. Scale Sayers and Brian Piccolo. Yes, Two great players for the Chicago Bears. Brian Piccolo was running back and same with Gil Sears. And it was very emotional movie. So I mean, I captain actually was crying when I saw that movie, very sad movie. Yeah, Yeah, it's uh, but a great one Exactly that you know who played George Palace from that movie, the great coach Jack Warden. Exactly, And he played the excellent role as well. Another movie. Well, let me ask you this. Wait a minute. I got a question for you. Sure it was another coach. The real life coach of the Bears that played that movie. Do you know who that was? A real wave, the real life coach of the Bears played in that movie. Jack. Warden played Alice, but this guy played himself. He got me eight Give Bryn was in the tomorrow. We ain't covering it all. So I got a question for Eddie while he's there. The the theme song Brian's Song. Which was a great song is a background for the movie by Henri Manzini. They also came out with the Vocal and my question. Eddie is who's saying the vocal To the Brian's song. I would have you know the name of the song. The first time I ever saw your face didn't work. We are not your work with the Roberta Flack. No, no. Johnny Mathis. Uh oh. He sang in the movie, right? Okay. So that was a big hit. Another movie was flying site That was very emotional movie, especially for Ravens fans. Is that Michael War exactly? Now it's over. And who's starting That movie? Savior Bullock. Yes. And she did such a great role that she actually won an Academy Award. Correct. In 2010. Yeah. Get out Great New because I had a lot of great high school football scenes, the football players and the last one that I remember. That's really good is remember The Titans. And that was also controversial movie but very interesting. That feature Denzel Washington. And he did a great acting rule in that movie as well. What was the football movie that Gene Hackman was in? It was filmed in Baltimore. Remember that one like placements. Great right, Father were you know quite a few movies made baseball in and football. But these were few the ones that I remember. And one other thing I'd like to check with your memories on NFL football players. That actually moved out of football into the cinema and to making movies. And a couple of them that ring my bell. Is Alex Caress. Have a blazing saddles. Yeah, he was great in that movie. Hunger life shirt like sheriff part and then another outstanding player. Well known Jim Brown. He.
