NLU Podcast, Episode 195: WGC-Mexico Wrap
Feeder right club today. That's better than most. About in is better than most. No. Expecting thing. Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome back to the no Lang up podcast, wrapping up from WGC, Mexico, Chapultepec, gentlemen. What are your biggest takeaways from the week child's hitters at Grupo Salinas? They put on another great event that might be the way to do it not put your name on the event, and then just hammer home every single commercial break with your career, Vigo Salinas. It should be the Mexican Open. I agree. I think was just Paul at the Mexican Open. I think club pro guys got rights on that. So that might be that might be why? Up suggested Huber former Mexican Open champion, right? Friend of the pot more coming on that front. Yeah. DJ ran away and hid we're gonna break down a lot from this event starting with DJ, and we're gonna Rory. We're gonna talk tiger. And talk about golf course. Coverage speed Bryce in the lot of things I but we've got listener voicemails. We do we hear time ever. Hope it all works. We hope so works. We got a big big electronic thing going on here. There were kinda lover lying on DJ the DJ over here tonight. Hope it all goes to plan. But not I don't think there's a ton to cover with DJ in that. I I know I've made it clear how much I hate the who's game is best. I think we kinda put. I think it's gotta be Jay, right? All right here. We go. He's the greatest player of all time. Yeah. Period point blank is. I mean, he's he's one what thirteen thirteen years in a row thirteen seasons in a row. So I have little a little stack. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I'm here to the way. I I I think if we accept the take that he's the greatest player of all time, we have to also accept the take that he's the biggest underachiever of all time. Absolutely. Okay. Tron shaking hands. All right. Can you? Explain the greatest player of all time. Take for anyone who's never heard it. Yeah. It's it's not a straightforward as it sounds. But it's not it's not very convoluted either he is for maybe it's a one whole stretch. Maybe it's a three hole stretch when he is the greatest player to ever play the game over that period over that period of time. Yeah, I'm not talking about a semi tool tournament. I'm talking about over a career talking about like, he's the greatest player to ever pick up a golf club. Yeah. His his ceiling is higher than anybody's ever, even fat. And I used to think you just like messing with everyone the more. I watch them like okay now, I kind of understand what he's saying. Like didn't even putt. Well, he's not a chief the most not even close not even remotely close. But no one's ever had held more physical capabilities in golf. Did. He really not felt like every time. I I might have to. Might have to lead the field in putting this. He was number one is. Listen, I feel like I know what he's capable. Value didn't make that out of the fringe today that didn't didn't go. Well, I think that was self defense. Well that probably didn't come to show steam policy at twelve shout lead. At that point. I think he was just nestling down. There is DJ. The biggest big game hunter out there that doesn't win game. Let's flat out say with his resume. One major is a bit of a discrete. Well, technically to write rating over discussing this one. It was one. It was like straights. Almost half of it at chambers bay. I'd say then you probably want a little bit of pebble tenth of. Yes. We've got two point two point three two point four majors, depending how you slice it. So maybe. Today was so disappointing because Rory is probably the biggest big game hunter there is. It's like maybe used to be. Yeah. And he just you know, he's he's in another big spot on the biggest worry staunchest ROY defender there is and he he didn't do anything today. I mean, except for trying to get a really really cavalier drop he shot he bogeyed the last hole shoot thirty one on the back. I wouldn't. I definitely would not say didn't do anything to that. But he was what one under two hundred for the day four under on the day. Okay. Listen. Here come the most prepared delta, delta loss. TC's notebook the flight over listen to this stretch from November third twenty fifteen to August twenty seventeen. Here's the only events that DJ one. This is not a select amount of events. DJ won his wins were the WGC HSBC the WGC Cadillac the US open, the WG Bridgestone the BMW championship playoff event. The Genesis at riv- WGC, Mexico WGC del matchplay, and then the Northern Trust a playoff event, the only non playoff or WGC or major event that he won was the Genesis. Are you saying that he has a hard time winning fulfilled event? Used to be the take a huge knock on. That's a that's yes. People might fight you. What if that's what you're saying? This was thrown out today. You have a very strong claim on this one but over under thirty and a half career wins for DJ. It's what right now any twenty. This is the PGA tour. We're not so hard. So he's thirty two thirty four thirty four years old. I say that's an easy over over. I wanna say over as well. But you read so many things about maybe fill is the mega outlier here. But you read so many things about how sharply putting drops off those guys get into their late thirties early forties. And I don't know. It's really hard. It's it's one of those things that you look at now if this trend continues forever like God, he might pass Phil. And I don't know he would be a freak. If he keeps up this pace for another ten years. Right. I mean, it's so I don't know. Let's say knocks off another two this year. I've seen say it seems like. It seems like ten in the next three years. He has. No, he has no injuries that we know about. Yeah. Right. Like, he's pretty I mean other than other Jansky cough. Off course injuries. He's pretty healthy. I see no problem with him basically knocking off two or three a year for the next five years yet to love over under. Should it be like thirty four and a half because he's won eleven times since the beginning of twenty fifteen hot in eleven more winds sounds like a ton? But he's eleven times in the last four calendar. Right. He's in the he's it'll of its peak right now thirty four. Yeah. I feel I feel like it's a forty and a half over on her. Wow. One of these coming at your boy, Phil. Yeah. Well, you should what? And I was gonna say when you're rattling off his wins during that period. We're so. Just doesn't even sound impressive in a post tired. That's so wild care. Cow Porter's tweeden's Satistics today through two hundred forty six career starts victories. Dustin Johnson twenty Phil Mickelson nineteen per. Well. That's why how many victories does does. Rory have twelve. I I want to say twelve the number of my head majors EJ tour Vic. Yeah. Yeah. So going back to the ROY take from earlier to Rory was he was one over on the day through through ten well once and then at that point I flipped it over to the Puerto Rico open, which we're gonna get to. I'd like the folks the know that well, let's ROY was pronounced dead hitting that the water par-five, then he played really well after that when it kind of didn't which isn't really it's like Rory's the ultimate too little too late. So so picture this. These are dust is numbers for the week picture trying to beat Dustin Johnson what he leads the field and strokes gain putting he is second in strokes gained approach. At he seventh and strokes gained off the tee. He was second show skin TD green in. I and putting you can't like hell are you gonna beat it? It's disgusting. And that's why he won by five. Do we have? We have a somebody calling in with a question about Rory. I think do remember that I'm gonna get to questions if we're gonna talk about right? I think we should. All right. Well, this is our first listener voicemail here. Jeff from Massachusetts. I think the question I have is when people going to realize that Rory maybe dead considering I don't care about the top five finishes to keeps. Getting just Baker is in these final groups, and quite frankly, they're so many good players at the top of the world. How am I supposed to believe that he's going to have everything clicking? He I could. He win more major. Sure. But I wouldn't be shocked if he ends with ways that right now because of how deep it is. So yeah, when people are gonna finally meant that he's dead this strong verbiage their first caller, which which we definitely encourage these voicemails Bruce Willis from the six. When people go it. So I guess rainy. Maybe we'll throw t winter people going to realize that ROY may be dead. If you don't win a major this year. I think it's I think I think we can call it pronounce it really why. Because he might be dead. So Roy's numbers this week strokes gained off the tee third. That's listen pretty a lot of good approach thirteen. I asked her stand around the green ninth strokes gain putting sixteen so it's fine. So rory's. Because he fish cited beat the entire field except for Rory by ten shots. And then Rory beat the entire field except for DJ by five shops. So if DJ doesn't play this event or has a middle of the road week. We're sitting here wondering like celebrating the return. So he delivered a precendence worthy of winning the problem too. Lazy? No, well, like, if my aunt had balls, she'd be Biogal, it doesn't you can't. It's the butterfly effect stuff. Like, you can't just remove on. Roy would have played the exact same way. I agree with you. I I've heard you argue. Yeah, you know, if Kat wasn't around like Phil would have been the greatest ever lets you can't have this, man. But when talking about a prolonged like twenty year stretch, I think it's a little different than like one week. So that's that's fair vote. They both thrive on very, very similar courses. Rory dusted ruin dozen. Yeah. I think that's fair. Like ROY delivered it performance. Good enough to win a golf tournament this week. Totally that out. And he didn't chase them down. Right. Which didn't live. My biggest criticism would be the front nine on Sunday didn't step up to the and that's where it got it. So hard to make us take without sounding so local sports talk radio. But like, that's what it is. It's like man when when the lights of rightist, he just didn't didn't show didn't want it enough. He just did. I don't know like six whole was really strange that was really bad really bizarrely at so lot of I don't want to do too much rule stuff on this podcast today. We're going do plenty of backstopping stuff. DJ got a quote unquote, questionable drop. He took a pretty wide stance to get his foot on the path to get a drop from behind a tree. Listen, that's conjecture. It was action. Rory takes. Hey, he misses a fair way to the left gets behind a tree in claims that he's going to be playing further to the left and you like takes a stance in his foot would be like barely on the path. If he was gonna play the lead took that stance. He wouldn't even able to make a back. Swing and get to the golf ball. It was it was. Yeah. It was like he was clearly like wiggling his his body. Open to be able to get that stance. And the rules officials stood up to him was like, no commodity kidding me. And it says he doesn't get the ruling he turns around hits at left handed back into the fairway reportedly rules official not known forgiving those types of drugs. So as I was riding hard for that on the broadcast, like he really he should've asked for a second opinion. He should have escorts second opinion. And I don't know maybe Rory. First time a rules official stood up to PGA tour player in the last that was shot into a rule. There we go four WD season shout out to NBC for just letting all of that play. That was fascinating. Even got a close conversation camera angle of the ball. They were talking about where the whether the club would hit the tree and all that John Paramor. It was John Paramor would've Deke. So he turns around hits left-handed doesn't make it out to the fairway. Tries it on the green anyways hits the water and makes bogey and that was the tournament. Which was another good NBC thing where I don't know if it was bones or both that. Like, okay. One thing. Do not hit it hit it long. Take a big number out of play. You cannot make bogey here. Don't hit it in the water. And then he looked I don't know. It's hard to tell from the Tokyo got it looked like it was clo- really wasn't close. It was it was I don't know things would probably move into big quickly for him at that point. He ended up actually making bogey dropped it and then got up and down from the drop area. But. Has a tap in birdie. Yeah, it was like he's kind of pressing at that point. All right. If I lose strokes on this old, and it's probably over and it was. So interestingly enough Roy's finishes this year t four t five t four and now solo second I on the PGA tour in strokes gained on the season. Roy has been the best golfer on the PG. Statistically, which I guess. So my question about Rory's wide as Rori. Why is ROY so good at turning and on almost like after it's too late? Right. He's he's got a propensity for. Turning it on and making a boatload of birdies. I mean, he had he made what six birdies on the back nine today. Thirty one with a bogey on eighteen. And. He does it seem never seems to be that in round to around three didn't run one shot sixty three in round one. But yeah, you kind of kinda just fizzled for a really long time there. I guess that middle stretch where we thought he might launch himself forward, and maybe it's just sample size. We're just this is just a weird trend for him. But it just seems like there's there's way too many instances. And I think back like two or three at Augusta alone where he's just he's charging a couple of years ago. He's I forgot he played the final year with patchy green. So they said that. Got he was in the picture because he's deceased. That'd be deceased. I thought about this in you know, like man, he just not hitting it close enough to the whole. And then I went into set trekker and he led the field in proximity this week. So it's definitely not that. But I think the frustrating feeling comes from that he gets it so close to the hallways in such a great position off the tees. I would say the best driver the golf ball in the world. He gets such great position that he doesn't hit it close enough for where he's hitting from. He's still hitting it like way closer than the field does or way closer than because he's so far everybody's so far up and he's hitting quote unquote average shots at distances. Do the strokes gain like approaching green is that taking to account it? You can't gain as many strokes approaching the green. If you're super far down the fairway like you like cat this week sacrifice of losing though too can lose them. So it just kind of is very average approach numbers. Basically what I'm saying? He's hitting he'll and everybody so much off. Average from one twenty is is different than like good from one sixty. So his average from one twenty is still better than somebody gaining strokes from one sixty so the stats kind of little funky in that regard the basis being he just doesn't hit it quite close enough for how close he gets it to the green is my as well to good. He might he hits thing. We've talked about for so long as he has so much speed. And the flash speed in the hip separation that you know, when he when you're hitting wedges that doesn't really dial. But I do think I noticed it last week at riv-. He he started hitting he's he's capable of hitting fade now prepare which I think is like he hasn't. I feel like now is working the ball both ways. And he's on his wedge off a little bit more getting a little bit more distance control. So I feel like I feel ROY trending that would say nothing gets me. We're hog bothered good distance control as you know. Exactly. I'm trying to win entity. Which actually I don't dunno solid. Mention that earlier this week. Like, man. I don't think anybody hits it past the pin more than Rory. Why is it always yelling sit, of course, like the kind of becomes confirmation bias after you hear that. But it was kind of stark. Once you start thinking about it like who else. Does that it Korito? I'm trying to tell them that these short of the whole. I mean, wait till you guys see tourist season three thing like tiger has always prided himself on hitting pin high. And that's the easiest place to make putts from. It's where the flattest putz are when your pin high Rory. I feel like often above the whole often putting downhill that's just I don't have anything to back that up. But I feel like that's what my eyes are seeing. So all right. Speaking of not making parts you guys want to move on do it. All right. There's another listener voicemail here. Clay from Alabama just four I talk about Jordan, speak, the guys putting ten feet this week was just absolutely abysmal. I just wanna know if it's safe to say that the don't know. That up y'all shit. All right. Good accents. In the great listener voicemails. We got the question. Does Jordan's beat have yips. I wouldn't say that any of the four of us are necessarily qualified to make that call. But if you guys feel different I think Randy is qualified. He's battled for long and hard with the let's take or any. Yeah. He doesn't truly of the he doesn't have the type that make you call my friend Hank on Saturday mornings to get a fix. Should he go left-handed? That's well hang says the last month or two that's the nuclear option. Yeah. The first step is to cross handwrite. The true first step is to diagnose you got to figure out. What Chander Europe is in Raisa left hand a right hand. And then you gotta get that hand, essentially. So a lot of a love of the right hand. And hang says, you gotta get that poem this eighty we're talking about you got my friend hang you, gotta turn it. So it's not facing the whole like essentially have to reposition your hand. Okay. So I was trying not to have had this panic. I think it's still I really dove into what happened on Saturday where he first of all for the week. He was fifty first out of seventy two strokes gain putting far below average. Not good. He lost five point two strokes to the field on Saturday. Putting that is horrific. Wait until you hear the details. We starts on the back nine on twelve he missed from four feet four inches. On fifteen he missed from four feet five inches on seventeen miss from four feet nine inches on one. He missed from five onto he missed from three feet and on three he missed from one foot eight inches and on six he missed from four feet. The one foot eight inch. Maybe it was one of those where you go to tap into. But like that's the one that downhill when I started diving into these oh my God. He's one sixteenth on the tour this year just barely blow average. Everybody's everybody's selling. I'm gonna buy. Yeah. I I don't know. I feel like he's just that weird athlete that once it clicks clicks. And he's doing something to overcompensate for something. Or he's got some something mechanical going on. You didn't have griller on the bag this week, which Gile to Michael. Father bear passed away. Anybody named bear is alleged absolute legend, Buckley. And and, but but yeah, I mean, I think he was probably out, you know, little bit out of his element this week. And he's been fighting a little bit of late and he's got what four weeks now. So really six weeks now of kind of fix it for Ghana. So if you get the going the wrong way on poa like that I was saying we can go bad really quickly. And then you get back on you get back on banner Bermuda, and it's not the same. You like you're playing a different sport. So not, but the most alarming that might be more concerned about if his if his his long game was off like if he couldn't find his driver that would be more concerning for me. It wasn't good either. The date is not there. But it sure punning was always kind of a bit misleading. Right. Like, I think everybody's always. In the world. And it was really that, you know, especially twenty fifteen there where he's making a ton of twenty twenty five photos in kind of skewing of the staff, which was nuts, which was absolutely. Part of it. It's just like streaky putter in the world could be never could. But he was willing to consider that option. He was never never even above average from four to eight feet was always been a problem zone for him. And like I remember in sixteen year, the almost won the master's and should have won it like he was making everything above eight feet and missing so many putts between four and eight feet. So I got a question about putting stat. And I think there's a good time as any. So if you're below average from four to eight feet on the PGA tour like how many miss putts per one hundred is that from like being slightly above average. So tour players make an eight foot. Putt fifty percent of the time. That's the dividing line. And you make about six foot putt about sixty six percent of the time. I believe it is. So I mean that four eight four to eight feet is a pretty wide range actually a lot of putts come from from in that area. Are you asking how many what percent of putz literary? Why didn't? Yeah. And I guess my point is I think I would trade being like the best putter from four to eight feet to be like the best putter from twenty plus feet. I see what you're saying. I would prefer to be better from four to eight feet way. More. I feel like the the ranges so tight there where it's like, okay. I can be below average from forty feet. But what are we talking about like one pot a weekend one-stroke? Whereas if I'm the best from twenty plus feet. Maybe that's finding. Thing, you know, God drugs, but I don't know the answer to that is ninety one putts from between four and eight feet this year. He's made fifty three that's one hundred ninety eighth on tour, which might be dead last. I don't know from twenty to twenty five feet. He's eighty ninth and from greater than twenty five feet. He's third. Basically the best lag player on the you said the leader home as the leader the leader in putting from four to eight feet is Martin Piller. He's at forty three attempts made thirty five eighty one percent at biscuit goes Eighty-one percent. Eighty percent. Eighty percent. Eighty percent. So speech was making eighty percent. He would have made somewhere between twenty five. More putts this year a way more than you would make the increment if from the from the long range. Out to the shrimp. He's t to in. That's that potty before eight feet my guy. So I think I think way Mark Brody would say is like everything above eight feet is relatively basically what he tells Amador's is either chip it close or it doesn't matter where it goes. Because once you get more than ten feet away probably going to it's so you're probably going to pud after after playing golf in California for nine or ten days putting on poa, and I was thrilled to get back to Bermuda. Would you say? The exact same way. About the big cat. Sure. What did you guys think Branagh? Made a big deal about his strategy off the tee this week laying back of off the tee. Was there anything to that? And your guys opinion was like Lytham and Hoylake six right? Little difference differs. Yeah. I don't know. It's it seemed. Really suspect. What you saw Dustin and Rory bombing it overall in all these tight spots. And I don't know. I don't have a great. I don't have a great answer for it. But I don't think Tigers got that gear. I we've been we've been yelling at the TV for years to take driver out of his bag. And like, you get to this golf course. Which is narrow as hell with trees everywhere. I feel like he he's not a guy that stands up and has extreme confidence in jam and driver into some of these places or trying to jam it. So it kind of speaks a little bit to the poll to pack stuff. Because a lot of people see this, incredibly tight off course. And they're like, oh, man. This is the should favor short hitters, and then why do we see Dustin ROY up there? And I think what gets lost in that is Dustin Rory for how long they are. Dr it so incredibly straight straight and tiger doesn't do that. It's not bomb and gouge the people think it's bomb and gals. But it's like these guys are so unbelievably accurate in their like as accurate as middle of the road players and just wait further down the fairway, and that's where I was coming out. So they're also. Driving and over some of the stuff. Correct doubt. I'm still speech pay a lot of the shorter. Guys. Can't that's where it almost seems like both pack really punish those guys in the middle because Rory Dustin when they're driving over a lot of this stuff. It's like, you know, they're closer to the green, and they can wedge out or whatever it's still probably get to the green from shorter distance. Whereas Jordan when he's driving crooked at this place. He's giving up twenty yards or or whatever way further back in all of that stuff. And it just kind of starts to snowball kind of see that with coocher around. Yeah. Yeah, along so he finished he was playing alongside DJ finish twenty three shots behind DJ for the week. She's blown out things are four which was you don't have to tip ten percent. If you don't win a heady play. Yeah. But so that's gonna wear the golf course which elevation equivalent was playing somewhere between sixty one and sixty two hundred I have a hard time being like, hey tiger. You didn't pound driver enough win over the overall goal. After two shots to be close to the whole tiger with six in proximity to the whole this week. So like, I don't he's coming puck and making Comey lead the field and approach, but like it laying back to two hundred yards at this altitude is like nine iron like it's not like a insane layup. So I I was I thought some of that was misguided. He didn't drive it. Well, I mean hitting one OB off the first heat start the tournament set him back pretty far that is that is wild that. He was that good in proximity. Six from from playing other back there is. Yeah. I guess that kind of debunks a lot. Yeah. I've never really played it out to or the one time out to like Montana. I didn't realize that outs toot until. Around kneeling. I looked at each other. We're flabbergasted like I I just flew that twenty yards, man. Like, oh, yeah. We're four thousand feet or. But I feel like it would almost be tougher to hit half wedges and figure out what all your wedges. We're doing than than just to hit a stocks. It's not twenty five. It's not fifteen percent. For a wedge gets fifteen very very variable on on average tiger hit closer to the dust of this week. That's nutty. So yeah, he didn't putt it. Great. I think the broadcast was kind of acting like he would have won this tournament. If you put it in normal. I mean he putted about field. Average was thirty eight strokes gain. Putting you did miss a ton of putts on Sunday. But they were just kind of like you can't make about that for me. It's kinda. Yeah. But I mean, it wasn't he hurt himself off the tee. That's kind of what held him back at least a little bit not not laying back, but like not even being accurate part off the team. So. I don't think there's a ton to take away from that. He hadn't seeing that golf course ever before. I think it's a win for. I think that's a performance that we're kind of like somewhat disappointed in. I think that's a good. So he's take next week off. And then he's playing hometown event hill. I mean, it's not really his hometown of it. Well, I know it's going to be home in town, not play the events. Yeah. That's the best dream too. Right. Yeah. And then play hill, and then he'll play players who play matchplay and then the schedule. They're scheduled did not do Honda any favors. That's the kind of like, I guess jock was kind of pissed about it. But at the end of the day like they they carved out a spot and made memorial a priority. And you can't have it both ways. And then you're gonna all right cool. You wanna make Honda big priority? Then pay hill goes by the wayside. So there's no good way to do. Definitely not. I think one I really honestly treated this event like a major this weekend. Like dead set on watching much of his I could just because it's so fun to watch guys play golf holes like this. And to be clear, I think this golf courses like so bad that it's good. It's so fun to watch guys met navigate around these these these trees and play this crazy slopes on these greens crazy allegation. I think after more than a week of it. You could kind of sick of it. I'd seriously love the change of pace in this moment every year. Yeah. I agree. I don't know how it's hard to say how quickly I would get sick of it because I really really like it a lot and I love the recovery shots. And I love all of that stuff club pro club. This is Super Bowl, exactly. Yeah. I don't know. I love that. I'm a little bummed that it that it turned into such a runaway which is oh boring. Whatever nothing anybody can do about that. But. I don't know. I just the perfect change of pace, especially this time of the year. When you've been watching the Dettori pines kind of lug fest type type of places and then. Yeah, I don't know. I love it. It's great. What's funny is we were watching tiger went into the bunker on the ninth hole and Friday. We're looking at where these bunkers were sandwiched in between trees, and we're like this is so bad and tiger keep up with the shot of the year. Probably so far out of that bunkers coming. All right. Well, gave us that moment. So okay. So when for for the for the listener when you say, it's so bad. Issue with the adjective bat. I I don't know what I agree. I think it's a little reductive. I know it's it's bad. According to golden age architecture overgrown it's it's hell over. Yeah. Sure. Which I'm not quitting that with bad. I'm not gonna. Like, the course that you grew up playing. Yeah. No. Which is cool. Yeah. I feel like courses like art. Like, you're bad. Like, find your bad is bad. But it doesn't make it objectively bad. I it's fine. Yeah. I'm not saying objectively bad. But like just the this particular shot in a bunker already. And there's a tree right in front of a double penalty is kind of just like, oh, that's way. More exciting to watch guys play. Of course like this. Then a quote, unquote, like better test wolf, and my rebuttal, and we talked about it as it was happening was like what that produce the conic tiger shot of the last five years. So it's four a shot exact shot. So it's like I'm glad they put a tree in between the two bonkers. I think I think it's quirky. I'm not for me quirky equals good. I don't think it was bad. You just wanna see variety UNC, something different. I think without a doubt. I just think I wouldn't want to see a golf course that tree-lined every single week of the year. I think it just doesn't I don't think that's a great wonderful entertained test of golf, but that's my opinion, it's produce good leaderboard. So I mean, some of that's really option. Yeah. Yeah. We bang on its horror lot either on the twirl the fact that there's a WDC event in Mexico City at this course, that I was looking around Google earth. Either day, I can't figure out how they get even half, the tents and people and all the infrastructure in there, and it is remarkable that they moved the tournament from Durrell to Mexico City in. It's like it's a win for the fans and the fans are on their aid. The fans are awesome there and be it's awesome to wash on TV where Durrell was one of my least favorite terms writer. No doubt. It's funny. How couture actually benefited from going to Mexico because those fans are so nice and supportive like he got harassed at riv- and the fans they're just like excited for their tournament. Every didn't care about the coocher thing. Like, it was kind of a story going into was gonna get harassed, but did DJ's brother. I didn't notice. It's they did he have the Trump will go on his sleeve. I didn't notice that if we were looking for that. Well, yeah, he always wears like that. Basically the Trump logo that he's got on the side of his plane with seven thirty seven or seven fifty seven. And he's got that on the side of the sleeve. We must mention of course, the first he announcer is maybe one of the top five things about golf. Totally that guy brings the calls introduces DJ's DJ, Dustin Johnson. Got a great aesthetic to. Yeah. Does. Or something born for the Grupo Salinas guy in the booth. That's got a greatest maroon jacket and the big patch on it which go back to the to the Austin Johnson thing. I just asked that. I hope he didn't have it on their that'd be super Agra have some respect for the people there. I I think a lot of people see this golf course. I don't know. I just I think that the average fan looks at that. And looks at it as much more exciting than like, quote, unquote, bad. I guess is my my main takeaway from this week. And I think that I think that almost I I could see people making the case for this is why we should play way more treeline golf courses. Because and I don't know how to necessarily argue that I know that the the stock argument is trees are bad for the average player because they slow everything down and they make the game harder. And and all of those things, but at the same time, it's like it kind of feels like swooping in and telling people that what they like is bad, and I don't want to be in that business. I guess that makes sense for sure. Yeah. I agree with you. I'm with you on I think too. It's it's when people go back to their club and say, hey, we need to take down trees and why watch this tournament toes. Awesome. And that sort of thing certain extent, you know, yet trees horse decisions. Yeah. They don't necessarily create options for you. But if you're going to prescribe the option, you gotta hit that shot. Sometimes that makes for just as good a golf where. Hey, you gotta do this. And if you don't do it like your hose. Dr rose love though, that's what they love like being dictated where I need to hit it. But I think that kind of kind of like extreme Firestone. Right. It is. And it kind of gets to the larger point which is that the whole like with and options with an angles thing doesn't work on on the PGA tour. I hear you there. Because either either you're going to make it play extremely firm, which is hard to guarantees say. The greens are always to to soft for and or you're going to like or guys are gonna shoot nine hundred under par or the or the tour doesn't have an appetite for explaining to guys. Yeah. Which I kinda here's here's why there's a short grass run off. Right. That goes thirty yards from the green like at trinity forest last year. Yeah. So it's I don't know. It's hard. I think it gets into the Belle Reeve conversations. Well, why people were like upset with saying Bellary is bad and all these things and it eventually when when we're looking at this is like an entertainment product you start to look at the leaderboard at Bellary was really good in the tournament was really good. And like. I don't know why am I fighting on? What's what's bad? Well, but like, I don't know. I don't care. I guess. Like like, you say that like if big wasn't at Belle Reeve in Brooks ran away with it. We wouldn't have been like, but that's every tournament on it without a doubt. If you can look if you just said bell, we designed this course, because it means Tigers gonna compete good in on that Agusta should have done that quote unquote, tiger proofing it or whatever they did. It was great for the game when Tigers dominating ago. So so I think the onus is on the Ridler for sure to bring Augusta back to stay. Everyone's gonna follow. This cat can kin hit it anywhere. He wants off the tee and basically conjure something up on the approach shots, and you're gonna have great drama on the stretch. Why wouldn't you wanna do that cut down? The rough chop down those trees, the planet off side of fifteen with other holes. Let's do it up man all win on that. We ended the last podcast on the last podcast. We were quite. Hard on another broadcasting partner. What would you guys assessment of NBC coming back into the fold this week retired? Hell this take this rainy. Go ahead. Well, I was traveling in the V last week. So I I wasn't really part of the conversation. I continue the NBC telecast is perfectly adequate suited my needs. I and like DJ I am to the point where I'm I just can't muster the energy to care much weakened and week out. I watched the tire day yesterday. I was great. Yeah. I mean, just it was fast paced. It was even when they're showing pot after after pot. It's like they're showing twice as many of those putts as the other broadcast partner that we won't mention. But yeah, I mean, everything's working in symphony with each other. It's there's there's a certain level of of comfort, and there's a certain level of confidence with the broadcast where if they've they've got the right people there, and they've got the guys on the ground, and they've got enough cameras out there to capture everything it's like, hey, let's let's make sure this thing goes eight point appoint to point cedar point, d instead of just saying we're just going to go from point eight point be I thought they were Thursday through Saturday was really really solid like a very refreshing change of pace Sunday. Whether it was actually true or not I feel like I notice the commercials a heck of a lot more may have something to do with DJ kind of never really being that close. But Sunday felt a bit slow a bit. Like, you know. All right. I'm ready for something to happen here. Some kind of captivate me the way the first few days. Did I thought they did an awesome job with all the and stuff like constantly putting up graphics to see that's so important to this event. And it does tell the story I think I actually got an altitude headache by the end of it by all all the time going back to the to the course, if this was at sea level, or let's say they were playing sixty three or sixty four hundred course, it's level. Would that be interesting with AB hitting variety of shot? Would they be flying greens with wedges that sort of thing? I think it was I think it's all it's like a perfect storm of this. This is a really cool tournament and this. This course is good because of because it's out too because it's tight because there's a ton of variables and everything that are kind of imply I think the other thing too is Thursday Friday during during NBC week. That's when I really really noticed the difference. And I don't know. I don't know what the dynamics are there. I don't know who's producing that. I don't know if that's the NBC guys in there. Versus the other networks guys in there. But I like the entire pacing and just motivation to show golf seems to be different on an NBC week even on Thursday Friday when they aren't technically the broadcast partner, would you think of Bryson's new incident Thursday afternoon after a very poor putting around takes his putter out. Randy's greatest God. I was gonna say I can muster some energy here this boy. So we'll let them I do like Bryson rainy rainy by make leave Bryson alone. Video. Here's where I net out. We're going to trying to think of the right word. We're gonna pressure. We're going to neuter essentially pressure Bryson into being neutered. He's he's going to be on his Ps and qs at all times on camera, especially and as a result the fan is the one that's going to get hurt. Because I guarantee at some point in the next year. I'm going to be on here talking about what they're just aren't that many interesting guys in professional golf like who is grabbing my attention. Be it good or bad from a drama perspective. Like, I love it. He like who? And what is he really hurting with that like one, I don't really get the outrage over it except for obviously it's on the heels of the bunker incident. And I think he's a bit of a take easy target over eight. We're over like either of Sergio like he was public enemy number one for ten days. Like, basically took the heat off the Saudis search show, the gut disqualified for tearing as well. Yeah, I was gonna say they don't really seem like equal no event. So I don't think Bryson should gotten. But there's a trend in play here for Bryson. There's a like are you curious like how effective by Sergio's either? But that's what I'm saying like as a fan right back to like if Gulf is an entertainment product, I don't understand. Why are we upset out? No. I think it's two things like Bryson like shouldn't do what he did. Like definitely not do. I like, but let me know let me pull that thread. Why why give every player's going out slamming clubs into green destroy because that's a horrible example like green destroy issue. If every player does. That if we should point out is that like the highest level. Do we want everyone in golf to be? That's okay to treat. You want to go out to Jack speech this week and have the guy in front of us swim hunter like I guarantee people do like, you don't think people not like that? I mean that was that was what happens Jack speech is far worse than anything. We'll see on tour. Right. But if that is okay to do than like didn't. So everyone could in theory do that. What would green look like if everyone came through and slam their club into that? Right. I guess my point is probably like what they look like now. I know we got a nice problem. This seems like this seems like they'll Charles Barkley NBA. Like, listen, I'm not sure I'm not I'm not a role model. Yeah. I'm not trying to raise your kids and as as an entertainment. Entity. Yeah. I don't want Bryson to raise my kids like be entertaining price and raise my kids either. You might be I think it's such out. It's such miss like who everyone. Air. Everyone's so mad about everything right now. I like weirdly with you. But I also think you might be a bridge too far for me. Like, I get the sentiment of what you're saying. Where it's it's kinda like, let's you know, if you wouldn't have destroyed the bunker in revere last week. Oh, come on. We talked about like it's like, it's it's it's like a crater like, you know, it's like bombed out now. I just hope my gosh. What would you? What would you? What would you prefer to have it? In response to him doing that. So he's he's shown on BBC or sky, or whatever it was taking a chunk out of the putt. Agreed. That fixing it immediately. How about that? Underrated element of even which is this background. They're like. Caddy handsome, the putter to do it too. That's the best part. It's what would you like kind of laugh out just? Just. All right. So what if it's a hundred forty four Trump, you're asking me things don't affect me if thirty guys it. I still don't care. I'd like it. It's K on the practice. Putting green there anymore. I'm sure that the two I'm sure there's money to fix it. It's it's just so far. I don't know. I don't like the slippery slope argument like well, what if Bryce a while to act like an asshole and nobody else onto lorries. I think other prices I think other guys are. I mean, I think anybody could do that. I don't know. I guess I okay. Well, you know, he's going to he's going to fit inside golf's little box sooner or later. And then we'll be back to like this entertaining. You know, here's another term watching these guys are all kind of nila whitewashed. And I just feel like we can't have both ways. We can't demand more personalities for golf to like go back to how it was. And then when we see personality when we see stuff like that, then we just berate them. I'm I'm fine with him doing that as long as he gets if there's a requisite consequence for it. And he wants to keep doing it. Cool all for it. Well, he had the the PR team of Watson Scott work with them to rectify. I think this is why I'm so pissed about this is from above. Ted Scott's Twitter. I don't know something, you know. No, I've been off to this week show. I kick it the bounce right of spending some time this video from Ted's. God's Twitter or something. Science out. There's a locker room for those of you didn't see this walking around looking for Bryson shirtless in this one don't, Shirley. Yes. How would you can guess house? Do I mean? News using aren't fulcrum straighten get, Yup, news jerk. Any basically explaining how he destroyed this. Great. It's very funny. You should see like words matter the green destroyed again chaos theory love this duet actually care about this. Hold on the green destroyed. No. It's not just okay. Practice cream. Lanzi practice green destroyed. Well, so the someone call it the rub of the green the Sergio stuff is way different because that was like competitive where he's affecting the competition. Yeah. I kind of agree with you that this really doesn't mean anything. No. I think it's people who don't like Bryson one reason to yell at Reisen. Yeah. Totally I guess my larger issue. This isn't isn't this per se. It's we're going to try to force Bryson into gulfs boring box that everybody else gets placed into our. And I think that's a shame. Let's move you. All right. This is another listener voicemail. Hey, guys, Terry from Carlsbad. And I have a question for you. I heard it Calloway the best and most I am golf company and the universe where we go. The number one driver at the world golf championship down in Mexico and know that has to be because the new flash face technology combined with jailbreak giving all these tour players massive jumps and ball speed. Also looks so damn sexy was carbon crown adjustable perimeter. Leading this color seems to have quite agenda to push on this call. The question is I'm thinking about irons on quick take Calloway invented the distance iron with the APEC. All right. Get it in here packs with ridiculously fast Cup face technology, earthy microbes fears make that long feel ridiculously buttery. Doesn't even seem possible. Yeah. This guy be questioned come on, buddy. Well, if you couple that with a chrome off, oh my gosh. The fall of changed the ball because it brought golfers everywhere that combination of low compression, great feel fastball speeds due to its graphene infused softcore ultra thin tour. Your thing cover get two wins on tour ready to know that. So. Yeah. So my question is this here do any of you guys backstop when he played around. Nobody hang up and listen. Thank you too. We can only assume was the chief marketing officer Callaway golf hairnet for that incredibly specific question. Do it if you backstop while play competitive rounds drawn to start with you here. I would think this is this is kind of your bread butter on both sides both sides Troas, currently doing the Ray Lewis to get rid of these takes. Leave. That's you do I back stop. I've never. Yes. So incredibly pro and anti depending on the context. Typically when we're out at Jack speeds, Tim Qana wherever out we're playing a game. Sure, I have a teammate in that game. Typically trying to provide a backstop for my. I think would recount forty. I heard you say clot Radi. Don't you even think about marking that Bill? You might say it's ply differently for professional golf that. It might be playing for as j b Holmes said billions of dollars. Well, all right. So backstopping reared its. Reared its head this week the PGA I kind of want to retire preemptively for this. What to do that? Say tapping to gotta say Solly waded into backstopping this weekend. Regretted so much salt. How did that go? There's a good reason. Why did because I felt like I try not to get into it. Because I think for the most first of all Trump is covered. This topic plenty for for all of us. But this ties back stuff. This was the reason why I got into it was like, this was the most agreed just one that I've seen at any at any level, and it had fist-bump everything to it. It had like so what what happened. If you missed it video came from Dunkin fringe, it's been loop two hundred and thirty eight thousand times, so people are really fired up about this. Area Tena aren't hits a chip onto the green from greenside. She walks towards it to start going to go marker ball and she asks Amy Olsen if she should go market. She like motions to her. And she's like her momentum is going in that direction and like Amy clearly Amy's offscreen, but like tells her not to area stops by the green eight meals hits chip shot waved off his shot. It's flying by the whole bangs off areas. Ball stops right next to the hall. They go laugh about it. And they go fist bump each other. By the whole, so. Again, the rule in strokeplay under rule. Fifteen three if two or more players agreed to leave a ball in place on the putting green to help any player in the stroke is made with that helping ball left in place each player who made the agreement gets to penalty strokes. If that motion to like, hey, should I market? And like, no, no, you're fine. Isn't an agreement. What expecting them to sign a contract on the areas was like, hey, that's clearly in your. Yes. Like, it's going to help you. Yes. This is. So my whole point to it was like, all right? And there's a couple arguments against that are really bad. I think we'll touch on those. But if the ball was between where Amy was playing and the whole she would have given her the time to go market because it would have negatively affected her or within a probably two foot. Yeah. Window between. Yes. Where her line was? So that's not a pace of play thing. If that's the case because like if I'm one hundred yards out and there's a ball like a foot in front of the whole. I'm not sending somebody up to go market plainly time when professional golfers ever. Give a shit about pace Peleg's, exactly the point. And like if the ball was eight feet behind the hole. I wouldn't have really an issue this. It's like kinda that greater she'll still shouldn't do it. But like it wasn't as blatant as this. And if you're not gonna call penalty for something this blatant, then like we're done and moving on. That's why I want to put closure to this people. People that said area, and and and Amy were like, they're like, the two most honest. I'm sure that's fine. Even if it was out of like, ignorance, cool, like they still their intent was still clear that the thing that makes me mad is when people respond on Twitter and say, yeah. But like if they're that good to aim at a ball. That's that's, you know, six inches behind the whole and in feet to the right when we lose in for the whole literally no one's arguing I do agree with you there. Almost thing. I've ever heard of that good at the ball was going to go way past the hope. Exactly. So there's there's a dispersion pattern here. You know, what we're talking about pace of play when you're actually greenside is we're talking about the difference between ten and twenty seconds like less than less than one percent of any part of a round. Like, I think I think Kip Henley said it on Twitter like us like, yeah. There were really far off the green. They were like eight yards off the green they weren't. So they were like at the whole I actually time this out there at the whole fist. Bumping twelve seconds after the balls made contact so that's how far away they were. So overall point to all this and people have asked like it's actually a fair question to ask where's the dividing line? And I don't think there's a definitive answer to that. But I know if I'm playing a greenside shot whether or not the ball should be marked golfers. This is a game of integrity. Like, you know, whether a ball is sitting there potentially going to help you in your head had beers with pricey Aaron price earlier, he said they should have the towers should have a twenty five yards. Our thirty yards. Outer however, far out they want just a just a simple line that all right cool. If you're if you're outside of that backstopping in play inside of that, you have to more why don't they just get some more free volunteers out there too. As soon as the ball touches degree. They go out there and market. Like tennis. You get the ball, boys. Run it out there. Every sick. But yet no one's accusing I wasn't accusing anybody of cheating, and but in also states in the real, even if you're not aware or not I didn't say cheating. I think of rule was violated without without any. I don't think they were. I think they were so ignorant to it that they weren't intentionally cheating. I think like areas one of my favorite players in women's golf, like, she's awesome. But. Just like enforce the rules. Like, the fact that they didn't enforce it in this scenario means they're never ever ever gonna enforce it ever. And so I think the only solution here it's not going to get solved. But like it's on the player. It's on area Tanta guard get up there and market ball in once you've declared your intent to market the other player cannot play penalty if they play. So it's up to the players to do it. They won't police it because they haven't data both said we're never going to never gonna do this again. We're all right cool. We'll if he if you didn't do anything wrong this time. Why would you do anything differently? And if they're playing a match against each other. There's no way she would left the bullet. That's the bottom line that if this was matched. No. If it was match player, you lead in all they're not a chance if it's the seventy second hole. There's no way you would have done it as a one shot different. So that answers the question we can put it to bed until next week. When the new incident gets more voicemail. Wait Randy up. All right. I'm back. Hey guys are calling in from Goodwood Kerio beautiful candidate Canadian great would skull panel last night at a rebroadcast, the nineteen Eighty-four Players Championship. A couple of one great watch ahead. It all big question. Is why golf channel doing this all the time? Instead of we playing the legend of Bagger Vance to the thousand time. That's it. That's all the content. Defeat. It sounds like it's been a long winter defeated sounding voice mail from Arthur. So as I understand this. I think this is something that golf channel. Or the two are whoever obviously has thought of like, we're not the first people to to think of this. But I think that the way it works. According to some hashtag sources is that basically golf channel has to pay every time any kind of PJ footage is on their their TV or on their their air that comes out of a bucket of broadcast rights that they were that they paid for or whatever it. So I think the easiest way to say it is like it's cheaper to run the legend of beggar vans down. So I think they save these kinds of highlight shows for like. The nineteen Eighty-four players was one by Fred Couples, and Fred Couples is not fair. And so there was like some self interest in actually running that one this week. And then they also save it for the masters in the US open and all that stuff, which is awesome. It sucks for kind of like the worst of both of all worlds both for the PGA tour because they don't have like how sick would it be to have old WDC, it'd be wral or or whatever this week, but like old some old tiger derail win this week leading up to Mexico or that maybe has a bad example. But some old Honda Classic old. Whatever have those each week would be awesome for everybody. You would think it'd be awesome for the tour? But I also get that they got you know, whatever they sell something that's worth a lot of money, and they got to protect that draw the line somewhere. So like a lot of things that Gulf it kind of seems like. Like the worst case scenario for all parties involved for all the fans all the fans for all for golf channel. And for the tour kind of seems like everybody loses in this scenario, but say Levy seems like cutting off your arm to spite your hand. Yeah. It's like major overlying issue. We have with a tour is a lack of vision for what the game could be if it's reaching more people would rather view it from a business perspective and people, but it's a at a small level. I get if you wanna meet your short term goals and hit your PowerPoint numbers. And yeah, I get it. But let's let's move on good question. Because that's something. We lament all the time real quick on that. I watched some of eighty it was first of all is awesome. Looked so cool Lee Trevino on Sunday. He was in contention got interviewed on the seventeenth tee before he hit his tee shot. It was awesome. Like, I didn't know that could happen. Well, it happens on the that's the thing every time they Sony every time to show one of these things where it's whether it's the Calvin p ear or like ninety three or ninety. Four. When the weather was crazy. I'm always left like men. I've watched so many movies, and it's all right cool. You don't want golf channel show-me cool. Like, if I'm a PGA tour live subscriber get access to the did this with YouTube thing awhile ago. I forget it was called. I think it was like PG to a rewind or something like that where they threw a ton of these up on YouTube and you had to pay like five dollars to access them. But they didn't really market it. And I don't like watching it with other people to able to to have community. Yeah. But like part of the reason why we picture the major so vividly. They had these highlight shows on around pretty much every masters they'll do marathon like do that with the players. I don't have memories of the place. Are you suggesting that the players should be a major? I didn't if if they want it to be a major then. Yeah. That's the first place to start give people image like, what's your? I don't have memories of the of the players in the nineties, and I don't know. All right. Let's corner met Leno guys. That's one. Why do we always have to listen to the how to train your dragon here during the Gulf telecast, I don't understand why? But this one is caused by while why why do we have to deal with the trigger dragging provos on Gulf? I don't know the answer. But that really grinded Mike years this week to I got I don't know some Comcast there's four companies in the world. I'm sure Comcast owns DreamWorks. Whatever I thought that was just targeted marketing towards no, no, how to train your dragon was all over the telecast. Like one of the three things. I remember most vividly about this broadcast. I was very happy to hear that boys meal. I don't have anything else to add. We can move on. I just wanted to air that it always sounds sexual to me how to treat you. Let's go. You woke up your nap to say that get your. A lot of Freddie. Else? We've on golf channel stuff. Why do I have to watch a live owned report commercial every commercial segment? There's a lot of like, hey, you're watching golf. Here's a commercial for golf like like players live under par or some other nebulous PGA tour commercials. Hey, cool. We could probably could probably cut down on on four minutes of four minutes every two hours of these commercials. Just from or use those commercials to tell like, we lament a lot about like, hey, if you do other scrape charity work that you don't do great job of telling that story. Let's I don't know use that time to tell the story of the tournament that you're watching or something like that. But like the last thing you've made the sale that made the sale don't need to sell us on living under par. Like, we're not the ones that are trying to live under par the ones that are trying to Luma part of the ones aren't washing Gulf yet. Right. I wholeheartedly agree with that. What? All right next question. This is still up Johnson in Belfast Northern Ireland, by way of Colgate, Wisconsin, this is completely irrelevant to WDC Mexico. But I need to know if I'm the only one that has no idea why two are is capitalized Paul caps after PJ tour. Why his tour allies doesn't stand for anything. Am I the only one thank you? You are not dealing and this is for anyone who thinks like, you know, hey, you just bag on the tour of the time. This is this is the questions people. Have why is or all caps? I feel like I can shed some light on this as as a former employee. It's just a brand standard. It's like whenever our name appears in any kind of it will name what? What it is. Because it is speak. It is because it is. That's exactly right. Yeah. Whatever. It's just them saying it's like when your parents say like because we say, so that's exactly what it is. Not quite I did some research. Okay. Shutout golf news network. It's because the PGA tour is founding company is PJ tour Inc. Yeah. All of it capitalized, which is because of the brand standard like like, it's not sure. So to the listeners question, it's not an all. It's not like an acronym. Which would make more sense as an accurate. Correct. He tours correct, not an acronym. For whatever reason they decided to capitalize the whole name of the company and since then they've. You know, it's accepted now to capitalism. I think it's just because it's sticks out more when you're reading it in a press release or you're reading it in whatever. I don't know. But I would challenge the listeners come up with your own acronyms, which is accurate. What does tourist in for if they're going to capitalize it? I think it's question also players capitalized every single time up players sort of contest really wanted to change because they're all under the same numbers is all caps because of the headed Northern Trust is all caps because the players the gold standard because it's the brand standard. Brian just ubiquitous term gold standard because of the goal. Can we do can we do a contest? I'm sure we can let's assume that you can reply with your best your best acronym for any of the ones that we just came up with this question. With something. We'll probably send you a Callaway driver of some kind probably epic flesh. All right next question. Jimmy, calling it from Knoxville Tennessee talking about anything other than bay cat one. In number fifteen. I don't know what suck we're doing. Jimmy children's show. Record jimmy. I agree. Sweet judy. To you might be the only thing that matters. Listen real quick to the despondency at the beginning of this. Call. Jimmy columnist from Knoxville Tennessee, this is what we're encouraging huge fantasy. Jiffy at your whole aesthetic short tight. Look, we're not gonna talk about him win a number fifteen until the season of championship season of championship starts here. In march. Does a player shook whatever. So so I got I I feel a little bit sheepish year. Talk about masters picks. Sure. I got tiger speak leash. All you guys. I want. I want five guys on five guys know, I if you pick more guys. Favorite? We would read Kabul. Cal DJ bottom line. If I have to pick somebody, and I imagine that the odds are gonna suck. Yeah. Yeah. It's eight to one twelve to one right now. I might lock that in because I think cats gonna win for speed thoughts. Keep going. Yeah. I was gonna say I I don't know hard to pick against ROY right now. Right. Won't spoil the masters preview. Let's you guys. Well, you guys got I'm sorry guys. Are you guys got a how can you talk about the masters before the players even started exactly masters championship? It's the season of championship. Let's go. Okay. My name is Tucker calling from Nashville Tennessee was originally from Philadelphia. My relative brand is what is the point of whistling? Why would you ever whistle? Are you fake thing the song or you thinking having rhythm? I don't understand why you would ever ever win loss. And it really pisses me off so pretty much it. Thank you. Not golf specific. Yeah. Hanker for a golf aspect. But I think he just doesn't like whistling. That's amazing. Someone who can't really whistle. I guess I sort of see I've never understood it. But I think it's because I've never been able to shout above and little SIS. Well, I'll never whistle again. I don't think after hearing that now I don't know why you would ever whistle. That's something that people are upset about typically. I don't know how to whistle. The I could hear the anger and the frustration in his voice enough. That least understand his struggle can any of you whistle. I don't know why you would. But I can whistle. Yeah. I I don't know. I got gained had that loud. Whistle. Two fingers in your mouth RC cone, Scott. It's a little look at me feeling if you whistle to you should have hard candy in your pocket, and you should go around. You were hopping it in every now, and again, I remember when we're talking about earlier, we're like Freddie's not allowed. This is just another reason rain, do you have an ice cream truck out? Comey way, the big guys got a huge propensity for visiting college campus. I could see you walking around whistling would very much aesthetic. But if you can't whistle. I guess that's the whole thing. All right. Very extremely weird question from Tucker. But we encourage that weird question. That was my question. It was a rant. Okay. Next, Dan from the quantum go. I just wanted to get your thoughts on Stricker's Ryder Cup captaincy cabin. Keep it I, you know, nothing wisconsinite loves more than another wisconsinite succeed. But I just wanted to see if this is a slippery slope. You know, just picking hometown boys to be captains or but your general thoughts on it. I'll hang up and listen. Thanks bye. All right, best accent of the callers. I would say northern people the muster where he's from very pinned up a little bit. It almost seems like gosh, that's like north of Wisconsin. And we'll see like northern Minnesota. We listen back because he played a role. That was very real. I dunno Steve Stricker cap and see I think he's he's earned it. God. He was macro or micro sense. I love it. Yeah. Macro sense. I hate it. Why I think it's such a crazy standard like all right? Who's going to be the captain in New York? Is it marked her nessa? It's gonna be fills off from New York. He's going to be Lisa pavement. She's an alpha. I appreciate that. Listen, you guys are on the US side. We can the European size been dealing with this for a decade now home again, Li never won a major this is the slippery slope that you're talking about your been you're talking about I've I. I never understood though, Winnie major thing. Mattering for captains agree. We can debate. We have debated a bunch of we're we're gonna do a lot more rhetoric up stuff here in the coming years. It. I don't know either. You're good captain, or you're not in a lot of circumstances are out of your hands. I don't know if Jim fury was a bad, captain because Patrick Reid went AWOL and the Ryder Cup, but Jim Fuchs wanna major and they didn't win the radical. I don't know. I don't think it really matters. If you wanna major I know it's different than the questions being asked. I mean, I don't think it matters that much who the captain is willing to put in the work and have a leadership style and make sound decisions. That's really all. You can really ask for mcadoo people know that somebody who hasn't won a major is a bad captain that haven't had somebody who hasn't won a major true. Very true. I could see I kind of get behind if the PJ of America was like, hey, we want to limit this to only PJ championship winners. Because it's and we can do whatever we want that seems stupid. But at least I kind of get it. But just the random kind of nebulous must have won a major thing that doesn't it doesn't really. Yeah. So Stricker like, I don't know. I think be cool. I think fans are going to be mega passion. Knit behind him. I don't think the captain place that big of a role to begin with in the first place. So I think it's more of a figurehead sort of thing. Anyway, I think as the American team has been much more. Hey, we want like a quote unquote players captain and we want Phil's going to run the team anyways. It doesn't really matter. So just disgusting. I guess, but I think Stricker fits fits the mold. Well, I'm all for it. I actually like the idea that guy in Twitter who was it who was like name Bill bell. Check. Nuclear take some of the great, I believe like some of the Great Leader's, Robert Kraft Freia, someone's great leader. Yeah. In other aspects. Yeah. Like, why does even have to be a Gulf person mean, maybe? I guess what the captaincies to is the counter argument to that is where do you draw the line? And it's like commonsense. Etienne bowl, the people that are involved here have commonsense. And like, I've no I've no concerns that Jerry Kelly is going to be a Ryder Cup cat. Ryan. The next time. It comes around in like that. That's not gonna happen. Yeah. Stricker's going to either be good or bad, captain. But we don't have no one outside of maybe the people directly involved in the process of any information that would clueless into whether that would be the case you can't yet. No. I totally agree. But I would say even the people involved in digression probably don't have any idea slightly more audible on more Lisa pavement. Yes. We want to get to some shout outs here before we before we wrap up. I was going to shout out to cure deck up finishing t- three first full season. Like, I think there was a little bit of Photoshop in that. No, I I actually googled it. And I was that's this is okay. Maybe we are long lost cousins. I wanna give a shout out to the orchid spa in Jupiter. I think it's going to be an interesting week heard a couple of pro golfers have been they were out of town during the whole sting thing.
