Who has any impact alabama turning around. Put them on the level that they are today. And i would say personally for me. It would be very football players to would be. They would fabra say and i say that because they don't have the influence on alabama influence on everything because on college football and already filed by august william. Ah there's no way. I could argue that. I mean we're which again pretty close alabama having lived there most of my life so and having had the honor of covering the end of one man's tenure in coach bryan and been blessed to have been there for every day of nick saban's so i agree with you. I do think when you get the players. It's a little more difficult. Yeah because i was a kid watching joe namath. to me that's the name that stands out. And i also think joe name is is important for another reason. Joe nemeth was positive. A positive for alabama at a time when very little else was going right in the state. And i'm not going to relitigate the sixties. But you know what i'm talking about and so i mean i think he's a standalone player. He's not the only one by any stretch. And you you know there are. There are countless alabama players over the course of history who have played a critical role in the in the advancement of the of. the university. agree. When i think one of brian grave to take players.

Which is nice. Oh very refreshing for a for a summer beverage nice and As richard said it's eight point eight percent so this is not fear that you're going to sit down coors light and slug down twenty of them. This is a beer to be savored and Enjoyed and taken with a meal. Probably do it. It would be tremendous and exactly this is. This is one of the bears. We've got some time. You got some good friends. You got some good food. You got some good atmosphere. You open it up the enjoy you step. You have a good time with it right for people who may be unaffiliated I stands for india. Pale ale m. my first exposure to that so to speak was with Bass sal when. I was a student in london Bass ipa and That's what that Signifies now the color of the can it. It's it's really. The the marketing is wonderful. Rich the cans color scheme. It's the The riptide colors a navy blue orange and seafoam green it It really captures the spirit and the essence of the riptide. I i couldn't agree more. I think brian and his group did a great job. And a lot of times you do these promotions and and and. i don't want this to come off at a bad way. But you do these promotions. And you don't westhampton beach. Brewing company has a has something they want to get across them. We have something we want to get across and we want both of it to get across where it works well for the boomer esiason foundation but again. This collaboration has been. I catch trusted enough. How smooth and easy. This collaboration with these guys have been nice. And i think it's because we're all aligned in the same in the same philosophies we're all the same the same person when we talk about these things and we keep them. I always do my stuff. I say you know what the end result we want to do. What's right and we want to do the best. We can for the boomer esiason foundation and then we worked backwards and brian Showed me what he was working on. I didn't even have to go back to and say something like well brian. Can you fit this. can you do this. can you do this. He captured everything and it really ties in like again. We're the new york riptide and we play off of The beachie theme and the shores and we have a lighthouse in one of our logos and he's everyday's a beach day with the westhampton beach brewing company so it just melted perfectly together and i think the cancer amazing really. If anyone hasn't seen the canes please go on westhampton beach growing company dot com and look at the cans. Because he's done a great job and and it's really eye-catching nice nice job. We're speaking of rich lists night. He's the vp of the new york riptide. And we mentioned earlier. they'll be There's a virtual tasting coming up and Make sure that you mark this down on your calendars foca virtual tasting. It's going to be on april twenty second at six. Pm eastern time It's gonna feature as we said the great riptide. Pa announcer colin cosell One of the guys from the riptide and westhampton beach brewing company co founder. Brian skip so mark that down again april twenty second six. Pm you can register at b. I t. dot l. y. slash riptide tasting. And anything more. You want to say about that. Rich he'll be a great night. Yeah so hard nowadays right because we come face to face year. When i'm a face to face person and i like to talk to the fan and and really give them like a pull the curtain back a little bit and let everyone see what happens and and philosophy to You know we're long island's team and we want we want our fans to take ownership and this team so hard now because of the pandemic and getting out and seeing everybody getting vaccines and stuff so we thought this virtual racing would be something that would be. that'd be really really cool and a lot of people have been calling us and saying you know. Where can i get my beer for the tasting. We've been we've been showing them what they can do. And then we're going to get on there. We're gonna have a couple of players right now. We have one. But i think there's a few surprises. We're going to pull out with the players and get them on there. And brian's going to walk us through the process and it's a really really interesting process and i encourage anybody listening that if you haven't been to the westhampton beach berlin company. You should go out there and meet with brian and his partner. Don't give a toward how they do it and it's really really cool. How they have they come up with Making these new beers and tastings and things. He's gonna walk us through exactly what went into this the artwork and then how you made the beer. I'm gonna be on their asking any questions about the team or collaboration. We're gonna have someone on from boomers foundation to talk about that too so it's really gonna be. I wish we could have all done this after westhampton beach brewing company rat around beers and talk the cross talk to the boomer assize foundation and talked westhampton beach brewing company. But we can't because of what's going on so it'll be like that on zoo just a bunch of bunch of friends a bunch of people talking and having a good time what a great event now. Anything else on the docket coming up for the riptide rich you know. We're getting ready for the season. We got a few things coming up here. There's gonna be a new team coming into our league Panther city lacrosse club. They're coming into this year. So there's going to be an expansion draft coming up which are fans are gonna be Going to be tuning in four and then in september we'll do our collegiate draft and then we start training camp in november. And then we're ready to go in december and then we're doing We're launching junior riptide program. So kits be on the lookout for that. We're going to launch a couple of teams have junior riptide teams and one of the things. I really like about the junior riptide that we're doing is we're tying it with a group called f. l. g. out of huntington. They're they're a group called for the love of the and they're helping us with this and I want to create three teams. That actually travel with us because a lot of a lot of teams. We play buffalo rochester albany philadelphia. They're they're kind in our division and in the north division and they all have junior teams so one of the things i wanna do is is when we travel the play buffalo. I wanna take my junior team with being travel with us. The same hotel us go to shoot around and watch the big guy shoot around then we put them through a shoot around and then before game. They'll play the buffalo bandits junior team and then stay in watch our game and then travel back with us. That's really cool program that we're putting together this summer that everyone should stay tuned for. Because i think that's gonna be it's gonna be really fun thing and then we're launching a collegiate box league also And we're going to put kids that are just graduating school. A rising seniors and going into freshman year and coming home from freshman year. Complete a collegiate. Boxing we're our players and coaches are going to be there. Coaching them and my ultimate goal is to find the next riptide player that played on the junior riptide and then played in our collegiate league and tries out and plays for our team going to be my By crowning jewel. If i could have that happen so we're starting to put a lot of that in place. Now in the summer going to be real exciting wonderful up becoming sport on long island and people should check out the riptide and rich list. Thanks for being with us tonight. Taking time out of your sunday night to tell us about this partnership Welcome back anytime rich. it's my pleasure. Please i you know. "Sox not nearly enough. I think you know we'll always have that dawn if you will Because there's nothing like going through major league season with a group of guys Even if you don't get to the championship but when it's a special team like the eighty six team I think every time you see them. That's like it brings back fond memories. It brings you back to now. It seems like a a childhood. Not you know. It's far removed But you have a deeper appreciation for what you accomplished as a group. You probably did that. We were playing and then there's people would say it goes by way too fast and easy. Just wish you could hold onto those moments but every once in a while you get to see teammate. Or two And when you do it's it's it's a pretty special moment or moments and even just sometimes even a phone call say. Hey how you doing. I'm thinking about you wondering how you are those little things. Like i said they bring back fond memories. Beautifully put rich rich cadman had spent a real pleasure having you with us tonight. "Actually in the book that i really like the baseball before my time. It's like the mccollum and stan. Usual willie mccovey like follow-through famous and But yeah the the way. That roy would benway over in the footage. Because you know. I've seen a bunch of footage of seventy sixth through seventy nine or seventy eight playoffs. Because he's you know he's in the postseason he's like a fixture. The yankees just kept playing pretty much royals. They kept buying over in the postseason. Yeah he was. He was pretty yeah. It's the guys that retired and seventy nine. So so when. I know like star joel and bench and joe morgan a lot of times because they just kind of bled over into the early eighties. Now then i saw you know. I don't know people that were playing. When i was paying attention in the book to the book is called batting stance. Guy a love letter to baseball You can find that On amazon for sure. One interesting thing that i read the book was you talk about the great rod. Karoo now rod caruso a hall of famer but he he. He wasn't a fly by night. This guy wants seven batting championship. thousand hits You put him up there with gwynn and guys like that. Would you say if he was any more relaxed he'd be asleep right. Yeah yeah. I'm on letterman. I even said If if you watch the very often between the first and second said she would fall asleep in the box. Out of the box it was like mark burlingame. Whatever career was there because he just stayed in the box and just hit and yeah cruise cruise. So rod peter gammons. Wentz told me that he talked to stream ski. About however year call would switches stansell to an ripken. he would switch his fans like mid game and crew. You know for people that remember from minnesota has that was more kind of up and down kosovo's loose but it was napa by golly early to mid eighties. I mean he was just laying flat on the on the angels. Yeah sleepy or your house was his. If if people are from the sixties you jazz wrong. Look nineteen sixty seven. Look at his hands over ned. Eighty three i mean he was like curled up into a ball. Hit the big ear hole in this like a ball could sit through that irascible leaning way over you can herbeck same at two fifteen his hands over his head and at three hundred and he was like hunched over like he. Was you know. Phil plantier amazing. Well go rhino. It's been a pleasure having you with us tonight. Thanks for taking time. Mattia sunday night to spend some with us up here on long island Any anything you want to plug last minute If you're on twitter at batting stance g instagram batting stance guy on cameo. You want to get something for your kid or for your uncle or for your team. That's really fun. Way to connect with people are getting kind of like personal shout outs and then yeah and And message me online. Anyway you can. And and by the way go by whistle go outside and play fruit loops and gobi mickey backyard. What advice that is thanks again. Gar reina's folks batting stance guy. Our first guest he played for the mets oils braves in his major league career. He was a member of the great nineteen eighty-six world championship team Working out of the bullpen. He was also on the eighty three. Mets ball club a team. That had the great. Tom siv right and will speak to him about tom. It's a pleasure to welcome in tonight. Doug sisk doug evening. How're you doing. Great great to have you with. How's the weather out in washington. We got a lot of slow. Yeah that's quite a bit. Yeah absolutely we've probably got no. I'll just under a a bit yes. It's been a pretty brutal winner for most folks in the lower forty eight as they say but it is wintertime so Growing up out in washington state. Doug who are your sports teams in favor of players when you were a kid for me In baseball is probably the bat a grew up name. Everybody that played on the on the match and of course the sixty nineteen then probably put all of the baltimore not baltimore. Colts john united in that group. I mean it was a fun on time to watch of course of his own black light back then sure was. Yeah gr- now the great team. Those baltimore colt ball clubs. Now you you hurt yourself. Hurt yourself early on throwing a wiffle ball at the paper boy. Yeah it lynch tell us about. He was teasing teasing my dog. Oh man it was supposed to be doing anything. And i through the roof of all atoms as hard as i could and i felt the top and of course pack dan. I'm just for you know not even a high school pitcher yet. I didn't hadn't even played on varsity so there was no big repercussions or anything so he took me to the doctor and said you torn some ligaments in the elbow. And you know you might. You might be best not to throw for quite a while. And i didn't. Yeah i just kept throwing anyway so you know as normal people would do you. Don't pay attention doctors rate. But but you hit the guy right. Oh yeah that's the main thing and they'll you know that later on baseball Career you know Accidentally hitting somebody in the game was you know it it I was prepared for it. Yeah right having been raised a Brushback man yeah. No kidding now. You not only through baseball's in highschool but you're pretty proficient with a rifle are our high school. I had a rifle team. In fact the the tacoma city league had a rifle teams there and we were one of the best in the nation at that point and we had several people in that team that were really really good and i ended up getting scholarship to washington state university in On local team. And then i. I turned it down and wanted to play baseball. The junior college level and also is invited to the preliminaries of for the olympics in In the mid mid east they're back in nineteen sort of in a seventy six but when it was not a non medal sport at that point but one of the girls on our club made it. Oh boy yeah something to be proud of well. You weren't more drafted due to your arm injury. The paper boy incident as we'll call it. But you signed as a free agent with the mets anyway. Yeah you know the the interesting thing about that. Our team at washington state university the entire team that were eligible were taken in the draft. Pretty much everybody and that was a lot of players taking that team or a coach back. Then you know. He's going to have to scrap really scrambled to get get some players for next year. So yeah myself and another pitcher point where the only two players that were not dropped in. And we're taking his free agents myself and Tom needing fewer glinted up going with the los angeles dodgers right. We every we know. Recognize tom for sure. Now in rookie league bala kings for it your as starter but they moved into the bullpen on your next move to lynchburg right. Yeah i i wasn't happy about it. I i lead the league. The appalachian league in wins. I think and your a and maybe any pitched and all that and and then the next year get the promotion to high a screwed on the we have some good Draft picks In that starting location. And i don't think they really knew where they were gonna put me so they put me in the bullpen. Had jeff digger and jay tibbs in japan door hall. Hydra picked is. And i felt the point that i was gonna you know. They just didn't know what to do with me so i struggled a bit there as well. Now you had a third move which was a promotion to aa. And that's in jackson mississippi and your manage their by david johnson. Yeah that year. A lot of the naval got promoted to aa and Went to jackson and david was. The manager ended up winning the texas league championship that year. and yeah The the very odd thing that happened during extra-time as i was just lights out and of the the scouting department and people are getting these these reports coming in from david. Johnson cena. Who is this guy. Where'd you get this guy. This guy is just like lighten it up and the other slovene instructors who had seen the early in the year. Just say you still talking about the same guy. And eventually i went Was promoted to instruction league that year which is down in florida where the prospects go and then it was the first time that bill number cat cmih pitching quite some time and when he saw me throw he looked at me. Says oh my god you're gonna be in the big leagues next year. What happened to you. What did you eat. There was no bill on what a great baseball name. That is bill. Mamba cat remember him with the with the mets and of course with the yankees as well. here new york now in eighty two. You're still jackson as we said a lot of success. Eleven seven seven record two point six seven. Era and Still in relief. But you earned the late season. Call.

Just start shooting up everybody on highway so we saw which was this something i mean. I'm not joking about. This thing like this was this it's kind of different because this was like a mobile type shooting where the other aren't the ones that we've seen in the past thirty days. Were like someone on foot and decided to you know to enter a a premise of some saz and start shooting people. Yes yeah yeah. This is different. This is on the on the on highways. This is it's ugly. "A lot is happened. There's a bunch of topics will will jump into for some of you. That. No. And you may not know, we are really show that airs on W R, A Q ninety two point seven and twelve forty. AM WG B, d. It's a two hour time slot. So what do you do for two hours? Welcome. Once again, this is Ted Hicks from late night. Parents. You thought you were getting a recorded show, new you thought we were taken off the entire month. You know, we only did one live show, Richie teddy, Ted live in person. Oh my goodness. I don't know about that. First six minutes or so of the show. But big shot, the Brian graves am twelve forty. W. G B B. Is it feels like we're back home rich? Dr it's been awhile spent a while. We're here home where we microphones. And at least two in front of the Mike's in front of Brian in the studio comes going to be a lot to cover, but we're not a sports show. We never claimed to be a sports show. This is big sports news. I know where you go sports news. Dan, then leasing gentlemen. The reason why we were late at the start up of the show. We were discussing with Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving about them. Joining the Brooklyn nets. Oh, also. Everyone else who's gonna want to join the nets now so New York is the place to be. It's always been the play always been to place to be. But in the entire world, putting it together. Now it's the I'm still Nick fan. I wanna see him come to the Knicks. That's what I want to see. I mean, I gotta tell you can he accusation showing marks great. You know from the front office to the coach to putting together. I don't know like that aura that's been around Brooklyn, like I've gone to Barclays over the last couple of years. And I remember last season, I was there rich and two beautiful place. It's not renovated, like the massive Square Garden. But it's also not all that old. I mean, the is a new thing, it's a new venues still has that fresh clean smell. Yes. As usual, you can still buy your fourteen dollar watered down beer. Yes. Of course you can't with your eight dollars. Essex, yes. Yes, you can and extra four onions and sour crafts, like that fixing bar. But it's great, great news, happy for them, happy for the sport because I don't know, rich for the Knicks to be the most valued franchise in the NBA at four billion dollars. Really how come they can't get anyone to? It doesn't make sense complete for the cheating. It's not like the money's not being paid out. They've got seventy million dollars worth for open cap space. They've always had money. And if you look at the free agency signed over the years, there, for the most part, they will always been like second tier players. Right. So where do you go do you say this is just a failure of management. Not getting the right people. Not, not just not going out and either building the right farm teams or not going out and paying enough to get the big player. No, I think it's just the opposite. I think they these players talk. Right. Just like are we all talk we get on the phone? Hey, I'm working for XYZ organization. I'm thinking about going over to this other organization. Let me give someone a call now. Let me go. Find out and the dysfunction starts at the top with James Dolan, hate to put it on him. I do like the management team. He has played with Scott Perry, and Steve Bill, Steve mills 'as from him stead, Long Island. What, what? If it's they'll love him. Also, I like what they're trying to build it. But for some reason, rich they can't. When it comes time to grabbing the big fish, they can't get them. I don't know if the stages to too big if it's because of the you think people get lost because as Madison Square Garden, and it can't handle the pressure can't end up playing in New York. Well, I think partially you're correct the first part of it where you say everyone every every NBA player every boxer every entertainer. Right. Wants to perform guard a massive square guard this the mecca. Yes. Okay. It's great. It's beautiful. But it's kinda like. So how do I say this the right way because I don't want hurt anyone. Oh hurt. Their feelings. Okay. It's like free Larry stage. Okay. Okay for you. Thirty plus years ago. For me twenty twenty years ago. Okay. So let's say this. So it could be anywhere free ninety. Okay. Your dating and you know you hear about this young lady who, who likes you? She's interested in you. And you say her, she has a very nice personality. You know, you say to her friend, he has such a nice personality. The girl who's dating the guy. She goes, he's a really great guy. Great guy. He's such a good friend. All right. But why I mean when I look, when I think of Nick's, right, again I never claimed to be the big sports guy, you know, that I always say the last time I remember being engaged in caring about the Knicks is Stark's Ewing days, right? I want to say it and correct me if I'm wrong. That's the last time I had viable team team, not just one player, or you can just to that could go out there and make a couple of nice plays. Get the crowd up. But that was the last time they had a team that was the last time they had a team. They had the mean one run, I think, in two thousand fifteen. Playoffs and then you know, they knocked out right, but.

"I guess we should be saying happy New Year's to all is it. Happy New Year's or have new year. Happy new year. So how can people throw in the s that's a really good question. Okay. Maybe it's just me. Not. No. It's definitely not just to you. Because it it kind of looks funny. When someone says new years you years. Plural. Not singular. It's the New Year's year. It's the new year twenty nineteen this is late night. Parents this Ted Hicks cross for me is rich Valdez teddy. Ted what is happening happy new year area. My friend our first in-person broadcast of the new year. Yes, sir. Behind the glass engineer. Mr Brian graves is in the building. Even know I thought he was going to be affected by the government shutdown because usually we start on time, but unlike some national parks, and you know. Well, I was gonna say Brian was pulling Attiyah say in calling out ceiling TSA walkout walkout sick out all the above, but no seriousness. Happy to be here. It's a new year serious serious topic the government shutdown. Spat? All I say is, you know, if if they're going to shut down the government, they should also stop good paychecks congress. Yes. Yeah. Absolutely. Yes. I I don't see how that is. Just doesn't happen in the first place. I mean, all right. You wanna shot down y'all when are you? And it's a worthy topic. Especially the that. We all know, the primary reason for this shutdown is the wall and going build a wall, and but Mexico's gonna pay for it and someone else who's gonna pay Mexico's not gonna pay for. But we're going to pay for it. And then give them a Bill. Wait, wait, wait. Wait. Wait. We're not gonna pay for it. Or give them a Bill. We're gonna make the taxpayers. Okay. I guess that's where we are. Now. Right. That's what it's come to in two years or two and a half years. Whatever is replacing NAFTA, the North American Free trade Aki rice, whatever's replacing that that's how Mexico's paying for the wall. I mean, how many we now I mean different ways. Can you spend this not not many, which is why we're at we're at now, we got people. I don't know about you. We got tons and tons of people. Who are? Living paycheck to paycheck, a lot of people more people than what we even expect. Probably you're probably right. Yes. I mean, you know, and the poor government workers who are affected by this who are living paycheck to paycheck there. According to quagmire heels aren't getting paid more on getting paid. So what do you do? I wonder if there are some accommodations being made out there by Oli creditors, knowing that the creditor the person is a government employee. If they're at least, you know, cut them some kind of slack. You know, where you're going to charge them interest. And you gotta make them pay for it. When the time comes but. They have no control over the situation. This isn't a layoff. This isn't you know, where they've done anything at all. This is the government says we're going to stop paying for a while. We're gonna stop paying because we. Fail to agree on a few items. So we're gonna shut down and we're going to affect the everyday worker, right? That's what's happening. What we're not affecting yourselves the voter the voter. Wait really comes time to vote again. And you know, I was reading something today. You know, this is far far reaching they're saying that the effect that this can have on on like the national parks. Yes. Because you know, people are still going to the ones that are available in open. Right. Trash is piling up feces. VC's is piling up locations. There's no one there to monitor. No. This will have year long years long effects, in some cases, they say. Oh my goodness. I like like I said, I think I did a podcast a few weeks ago with buddy short, Sean armor, and we talked about the mom the divorced. Mom, who is depending on the child support right from her ex husband or partner, who's a government employee who's the government employees. What happens? I mean. Great like, you said the ripple effect behind it..

Full house. The table is surrounded. We had the full roundtable going on today. Tonight's is officially set because this Ursula more is in the building. Devin. Moore's also in the building. Resenting race to speak up. We'll talk with Devon and everyone's shortly. Goodson see something your faces and yes, when we say we follow up with people and see how they're doing and get a recap and all the above. We do actually do it shout out to our engineer Brian graves. Big shot to w. r. a. q. ninety two seven FM that's upstate New York. W e b twelve forty AM Long Island, right? They shot to our friends at twelve forty AM ninety five nine. I don't know about you. Rich has been a couple of weeks since we've been back. Whole bunch of things have happened. We what we won't be talking about tonight and this is the best part of the show what we will talk about what we talk about. We won't talk about Brad Kavanagh. I'll good. We won't talk about the forest that went on with the White House in regards to Puerto Rico and the number eight, six eighteen sixty four or twenty nine seventy five, which if he round up his three thousand lives that were lost with hurricane, Maria, we won't be talking about that. Okay, that's it. No more conversation because I think he just did talk about it. Trouble storm for its water. I mean, it, you know, it's a good thing that of course it has been down. It was downgraded pretty quickly as soon as he got on the land went, you know, from four to three, three to category one to tropical storm. However, that does not mean it will not be as much rain that in this case, that's where the dangerous flooding everywhere. Fortunately, the winds course of subsided greatly, but was what's the last number twenty five thirty inches of rain, something like that. And some areas over the course of three days. You know, our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those down in the Carolinas area, Virginia area being affected by the storm being affected by the floods. You know if you were in an area and the national guard of the local law enforcement or the army, or whoever came through and said, you need to leave, you need to leave. They don't come through and ask you to do that just because they want you to abandon your house. It. As your life is in danger and it's a last resort pack up, get out. You know, at least last, I heard at least the the number of lives lost was. But for the last I heard with the, you can expect that, of course of changed. The town that was trending on social media was Newburgh. Where two hundred residents were rescued while and they were in the digital hundred fifty that will waning. I mean, I don't want to believe this and I don't want to sound like you know upbeat, but basically what you said. If someone is telling you if someone from whether it's federal government, one, four, spent all someone in an authoritative leadership position that was appointed or elected by the people by you. To leave or to evacuate. You have to do that. I can. I would, you know, fortunately having never been in that position. Either, but rich come on. Yeah, you can understand when they come by, especially, you know, you listen to the interviews on TV and just about every person who decided to stay set, says the same exact thing. All we wrote out the last two, three, four, five, whatever the number is. It wasn't that bad. We're going to try to ride out this one. Even though they're being told this is gonna be in a little different. It's, you know, don't look just the storm winds. Look at the rain. It's coming. It's high tide, you know, it's a confluence of bad news coming at the same time. And I mean it sure. How easy would it be for you? It would take just about everything for either your all right. I'm going to abandon my house now. Right? You can understand that, but, but like you were saying, I get it too, but are we major flood? So no, we at least I'm not right. So you take you have to take certain things into consideration. You really do. And I know we sound like the Monday morning quarterbacks here. Or maybe we don't sound like the people on Cable News Network that that we want to sound like that. But if someone is telling you. You gotta leave, you gotta go right now. Granted their issues when they're either there's a medical issue, right? Or you know. You can capable of making the trip there. There were reasons why you can't go, but if you sit and they had to say, you know, I am going to ride it out and then you're calling on the first responders and you're talking about, I'm on the second floor in the attic and the new order on the first floor for and is now in the second floor night come on man. You're not only putting your life in danger, but what about this first responders? Right. And the other people who also do need rescuing right may may be there because they absolutely could not get out. Right. We've all in terribly save again. Like you're saying, we don't want to sound harsh. We don't want to sound insensitive. Genetics definitely care about all those down there. But yeah, I on the same. Same thought pattern is you if you've been told to do it, do it. So tell me this much if you're in a situation like that hypothet- hypothetical, you're not rich. I'm not me. Okay. We're not a. Not a Long Island. Okay. We're somewhere in the deep south. We're somewhere where the tide is high. Okay. Okay, we live somewhere in Wilmington. We live somewhere near the beach. In someone knocks on your door, the badge, you know someone like I said, authority figure not saying though with the badge and gives you a life vest. Right? And gives you. A permanent magic marker. Right? And what do they tell me when the hand me this life vest in permanent magic marker and write your social on your arm or somewhere on your body and give us your next kin so that we can identify you right. After the fact. So if it doesn't, if you don't heed that warning. In this something wrong. I'm not gonna say you're wrong. Like I said, I know. By myself. I disagreed with you. I just, you know, I, you know, it's gotta be hard when that situation comes, but you're right when they're doing that, your life is being threatened. Right? And the story they're trying to wake you up. Right? Is your wakeup call, right? This is no different than when at the the former governor, Christie said, when sandy. Get Saturday off the beach. You know, don't work when you're paying right now. Right? Right now, granted for two or three hurricanes later, he was onto the. He was on the beach. Another here. No, there folks. When you hear these types of emergency situations, we hope that you're prepared. We hope that there's some type of emergency preparedness or response that you have within, you know, with your each. I guess within each of your families, you preparation is the key like like you're saying, especially if you live in. So I mean, well, I'm gonna take that back. Partially everyone should have at preparation plan. Yes, of some sort. You know, even if it's just a matter of, okay, if something goes wrong and the members of the family art together, create a plan in a location where you're going to all congregate in SEM as possible, especially if you live in certain areas where you know floods hurricanes in tornado alley, then sure you wouldn't have even more you and have a bag of things. Where do you go? You want to have something, you know, credit cards and items in ziplock bag that, yes, some cash in the bag, clothing. Some parasol nonperishable foods, you know, simple things. It doesn't have to be a, you know, a huge duffle bag livings or something that can get you and your family through for two days. But it's so funny because we've had the set of experts on here before. We have, but you sit back and say, do you have a couple of cases of water, right at home, right. Just in case, right. I mean, not the water that you you. You know, when you walking out to go to work again and you pull out, you know to take one yourself, but something that you have on the side prepares just in case just in case, I hope we've scared you enough. Shouldn't be scared. You know this, my hope we educated you enough again, we're probably a little more sensitive to these things. You know, nine eleven was you know, seventeen years ago, right? And granted, the damage in initial impact was localized to downtown Manhattan. However, the entire region, the entire country was in a state of a look at this. What do I do what's going on? What if and so with like, you know what I'm saying up here, we're a little more sensitive to these taking little Little wasn't wasn't usually usually. superstorm sandy. There's been instances where hurricane Irene, the year prior blackouts blackouts that you have to be prepared for this type of stuff. So as we segue segue, this is late night parents with rich and Ted this ways the follow the show is late night, parents dot com. Wait, you will find the latest blogs. The schools that would do nothing or try to cover it up. And I've been trying to do whatever I could whatever I can do to help them, but it's still hard for them. Of course. Yes. And also my goals are to. Of course, speak up at schools and I want to implement a class and to each school in the United States or even more than just the United States about bullying. Kate on want people to take a mandatory class about bullying in, hey, where you could in the class, you could set up little skiffs to show the whole school about bullying, hey, can do. And also examples pulling in hate. So you know what you what is going on and what you can do. Want to jump in here Devon and say, I thought he should be commended for not only the situation you had to go through, but the the forward steps that you take in your family's taken in the support that you received in from from your mom and dad. I would say explanation number one. When you do give that class, most people don't even realize, well, I would say most younger people might not even realize that if there they may think like they're talking hot or cracking a joke on someone or something like that. That's bullying that cyberbullying right there in the nut show. People people don't realize because I, it was funny. I think this is about maybe four years ago I did. I worked with a youth group and we were discussing cyber movie. And I and I've gone through story before where I had. I told everyone to pull out their cell phones and most of the kids that were there and they range from, I would say about eight to eighteen eighteen nineteen. Okay. And most of most of the kids pull that cell phones, I don't know if they will all working or not, or I don't know, but they actually had a cell phone in their hand, and I said to them, have you ever said anything mean online to any of your friends? And they said, I said, I said, you know, no one's in trouble regime because it was. It was a session. I did just with the youth and most of them I would say two thirds of racer saying, hey, I said something, but it was funny, and I said, you know, hey, it's funny to you and people that's like the first step. So I think it's key in what you're doing is you're educating us and what does. Say what not to say. I mean, I'm most most of the times when someone says something disparaging, then yes, they understand that that's considered, you know cyberbullying. But if they think if they're being funny and or if you've been at a situation where someone will say something and then you start to pile on. You know, you're adding to that badges. We talked before about, you know, knows believe it. Zero tolerance bullying program. I will tell you this much. I like the fact that you starting to lay the groundwork and this is something where I will tell you take your time with it. Don't be discouraged, keep pressing through. You will get, you will get speaking engagements. And it doesn't have to be a warmer, five hundred people, right? Ten people, right. And as long as you reach out Ingles I think the songs you can connect with at least one or two people, the us nature Mark, you made your Mark and you take it from there and you continue to speak out about it. Because it's it's, your story was powerful, but I like the fact that you were us taking the additional steps so you gotta keep pressing on and. There's going to be a few hiccups. You know, there's going to be a few bumps in the road. Don't let that stop you. He pressing on for Reese to speak up. We definitely support you here. Thank you. Before we close this out Ritchie, have any questions or anything? No, all I would just and a little bit to something. You just mentioned that you know, just because that bullying is really from the perspective of the recipient as you will know when someone is sitting there saying making a joke and it's like said, oh, I didn't mean anything by at those funny. And meanwhile, you're really, really hurting someone's feelings. You know, this isn't just about now while you're young in school ten naked, tell you both. We have to on an annual basis, recertify resigned documents for employer, it says we have to, we attend to a mandatory mandatory anti harassment, sexual harassment training district, Eric harassment trainings. These are all things which you know in school you call the bullying. It's called harassment a real life and you do suffer much much more serious consequences. So this is you know your your experience. And now you're teaching others chewing on this. What when you get older in real life, you know what? What the value of learning what is harassment was not an how to interact with people. So he going on what you're doing there. I think it's good in a very good. They decided to go public with it and what you have your turning it into a positive and trying to both assist others in dealing with it. And at the same time you're teaching those who may have been the perpetrators of the harassment that what they're doing is actually. Wrong to make possible. But that'll be interesting. We'll see what the FCC what the timeframe is on that. You know they saying this is going to happen within the next year or is this something that's gonna happen? Ten years from now, and they could signings person up. It's SpaceX. Could be next week could be this week. It could have already had it was right, right. The person's already in earth orbit, the Allegra riot push him out now, right? Yeah. Hippie. I mean, you wanna talk about a money maker. You wanna talk about elitist. That's for the elitist. Yes. Now sitting here with my iphone, taking pitchers orbiting around the moon. Did they mentioned anything about cost or all this homes out? I think all this is going to come out tomorrow. I'll be listening for that. This is gonna come out tomorrow. Eight o'clock Pacific time. It's gonna come at all. Big, boxing guy, not the boxing guy. Did you catch the fight last thing. I, I haven't trying to avoid anything. Of course it should be what HBO next week. So was gonna show it next week? I'm trying to hold out. I don't know. I made it through the day. I will tell you this, but I ate was a great five of the fight. Okay, great. Ray fight, a great fight. I fight. Yes, it dwarf the all right. So then what you you might be able to, you might give me this on the air right now that if it was a great fight and it wasn't a close fight, it was a close fight. And having seen that fight, do you debate the outcome? I do not debate the outcome. The outcome being debated at all nearly all right somebody it's not because it was such a good fight that it could go either way. Right. You know, I, the person that I thought was going to win. Right? Did not win. Okay. Central g one and I think you can. You can tell me I'm. were Say, don't tell this is a spoiler free show for, I'm sure it'll it'll speak out happened or ready. Yes. When I when I favor it, male person comes through. I'm Shelby finding out then. Totally. Totally. And I'm okay with it through though. I'm okay with it was really, really knowing. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, this is one of those fights where you sitting there, you just like, okay, that round could go to either person. And there were a couple of rounds like that. Right. Okay, worth. I mean fighters always, you know, have the center of the something that went. It doesn't go their way, but are the five do both of the fighters seem to acknowledge the decision? Yeah, it's totally sets up a third five that okay. We don't. We like there was no stench. Right. Okay. There was there was somewhat of a stench after the first for guess there was and you're sitting there, you like, how did that? How did that happen? Right, right. After this one, you just like, because I, I will tell you this much. I don't know anything about being a referee or judge, right? I scored at one fourteen one fourteen they had at one fifteen one. Thirteen. Okay. That's one round. There's one round. I had. I totally. I said, if this thing is a draw, I said, see it. I could see it. Right. Okay. I could see it was. I was let him in there. I was like listening to how Letterman and his it was. This wasn't an HBO thing. This was no, it was HBO thing was mex-. Caliban is coming. Okay. I like him. So. I mean, that was interesting. That was interesting. The only other thing is it will say. Is. I think the, I think you and I talked about it, but during the week. I think he was in the sea is I know so Long Island. Okay. Long. Island town, crack pike in the Sheen's. Yes. And it was actually multiple towns I find was going on here. I, I read that article because I was like, all right, this what number one, what town is this town? Is this. Right? It was a little farther east in some towns that have a reputation already for having drug and substance abuse issues. So the vending machines themselves will some of them were. I remember at least three of them that they've found the might have been more whatever, but three being mentioned of the three least two of them were placed in public space. Were, you know, nothing should have been posted at all, and one of his own some private space where at least immediately after the reporting of the incident, they weren't able to tear them down yet because it was on on privately-owned on space, but the devices themselves were labeled with it was the word pens in lower case sticker and a capital s. spends being the the full spelling? Yes. So of course it it would. It's not illegal at all to to sell a pen now, even if you want to charge. I think it was charging two dollars for these things because l. a. pan out of out of a machine short on problem. But when it's a pen is really a glass tube and there's no ink in it. And that's what these devices were. So basically as was reported, they're selling crack pipes. People were finding and you know, I, I did catch on one of the reports. You know, they had the back of the device with the phone number of the vendor in case there's an issue, call his number really clearly there. So we've heard nothing more about this. These I haven't heard more. Oh, they've been sitting here saying, okay. Stupid question. No question is stupid. As you though. When you spot something like this neltza to call in police. The police. Right. What else do you do? You call your congressman. This one, half the Pete, you could be sure half the people who saw thought, oh, it depends offensive. 'cause it was just the ones I saw were green green box with a slider for coins like you'd have legitimate wicked, dispense the pen. So did you actually see one on on the? Yes. The report. Okay. But they had pictures of a couple of them and they look the same there were, you know someone had dug a little spot con concrete down, screw these things down to the concrete and anywhere. And you know, I guess some people in the neighborhood have to notice what was laying around the ground around them. It's like a crack pipe. But as I think you're saying what one, what has it come to with someone even things? I mean, sure. That's, you know, it's head of a marketing ploy there, but I know what I'll do. I'll make some money selling crack pipes. Where are we in worse? Of course, people were buying someone was using them at their. I don't know how long the devices were mounted or any of those details kinda get the idea that was not long at all, and they were taking down, you know, even more quickly, but yeah, but like you're your your question. Yeah, you call the police. That's the first thing you do and you give me a formation that's on the device. Here's the phone number of the coal get this thing out and they will act courting if they've legally can. Again, some was I think one of them was behind a bus stop. That's the one I saw the pictures. So. I don't know. But those areas do have reputations for a very, very bad drug problem. As you know, somebody other locations around the country, but that those areas are unknown for. And so you have situations like this, which I. were aware of Painful. it? I would not. That would make no sense at all because he's trying to I, if in fact he is trying to play that game now with this one year deal and like, all right. Well, I'm just not gonna show up and I won't get paid, and. Okay, fine. And just after released me when it's over, then we know what will maybe. No, you've just taking yourself and no one's gonna win. You. Or or that mixed deal is fourteen million. It's for five, right? See his issue. And I understand because I mean, you got ownership, he ears you have to you. He's turned thirty years old thirty years old old NFL that's ancient in the NFL. Yes. Thirty years old as running back is unheard of almost this I've noticed. Right. So that's even more Clichy these you'd think he was all right. Give me that big check. And give me another one next year. So let me ask you if if he was the show up and everything going, normally this season. What's his contract. So he was just a one year contract regardless. So next season would even free would have become free anyway, apply the franchise tag twice so they can no longer apply. So he's a free agent regardless of free agent regardless. So this doesn't make any sense. Valley's your agents are out there and like the contact you so you can speak with us. You you kind of have to say, here we go again, it's not a school this time. Thank goodness. So you can't give teachers or you can't offer them guns and not on the teachers. This time you, you can't offer them an extra. I don't know. Ten dollars an HMO, right? Not this time. You know. I don't know this craziness in Jacksonville, Florida. I would be remiss if I didn't mention. I know a few people are gonna hate this, but a lot of these incident, these incidents happen everywhere, but don't these things tend to happen pop up in Florida. Don't you hear like different pockets? You start to wonder, is it the heat? I don't know. It's something what brings all this out, but for those who may not be aware, we're referencing a shooting that happened in Jacksonville, Florida this weekend and east sports. How petition so far? Yeah, it's it's different. I mean, you know, the shooting today was just something that kinda changed a lot of things. No change the mindset, especially with being close to home, and you know, with it being a Madden tournaments, you know, the background of the my background being EA sports, working with some of the guys who actually helping throwing that tournament down there. So it's just like, you know, they're, they're safe and that's a good thing about the ask. Yeah. Yeah, they're good.
