"Other news in this game, very scary situation involving Chris Bassett, who plays with the Oakland Athletics. He was caught off the field the pitch for the Athletics after he was struck on the side of his head by a line drive. To want to know. Out in the second inning, he threw a cut fastball. Brian Goodwin drove it up the middle. He went down right after that, but he was attended by Oakland, A's trainer. Imagine Bob Melvin said. He was conscious. He was conscious the entire time. They don't think the ISA problem there to do some stitches. He's in a cat scan. "Were about as good as Michael Lorenzen was tonight. He strikes out 6/5 giving up just one run to the pirates. His night is likely done. If it is he was outstanding in a spot start for the Reds. And his night was done, five innings, pitch for hits, One run, no walks and six strikeouts. He threw 76 pitches, 49 of them for strikes. And if you're wondering why I didn't come back to pitch the sixes because those 76 pitches or 19 more than he has thrown in any other outing this season, TJ Antone pitch day. Perfect sixth inning and are he came out the picture six He walked the first battery face but then set down three in a row. Lucas sends pitched two scoreless innings. Amir Garret came on to pitch the ninth and the first batter he had a face was Colin Moran. Alan brand first ball swinging lifts a fly ball deep right center field. Back goes, Goodwin leaps at the wall and he caught it. What a play by Brian Goodwin taking AH, home run away from Colin Moran. "Manny Machado with a home run in a 6 to 1, San Diego went over the San Francisco Giants Fernando Tatty cz. This is a kid who's gotten a lot of run and deservedly so there might not be a better young player in baseball, then Fernando Tattoos. Junior, the young shortstop who leads the National League and Homer's runs and total bases and behind his hitting behind Manny Machado's hitting the Padres are in the hunt. They trail the Dodgers by 3.5 in the race for first place in the National League West. But San Diego is almost a lock to make the postseason there right now are sitting in second place in the National League West with a 5.5 game lead over the Giants, who they play tonight. San Diego looking for their first postseason berth since 2006 Reggie looking for their first postseason berth since 2013 and they've got a lot of ground to make up with 16 games to go there 3.5 games out of the final wildcard spot. We talked about the team that was hot on the Reds show Go, Akiyama appears to be heating up. I guess it just the right time. He is back at the top of the batting order. And you could certainly understand why if you paid attention to what he did against the Cubs show, go got on base. Eight times. Now. He did over slide second base late last night, which was an out that could not have come at a worse time. But he is starting to get on. And I think he's been interesting this year because he's a guy that we we obviously spent a lot of time in the offseason. Talking about The Reds are not a team that had ever sign a player from Japan. He came to the United States with ah pedigree of being able to play great defense and get on base, and we all talked about him. Having to adjust. Could you take his numbers from what they were in Japan and automatically translate them too? You know what he's going to do here in the US know there's going to be a little bit of a learning curve. At the same time, as much as you kind of build in Ah, an adjustment period and build in the fact that the numbers probably aren't gonna be as great as they were in Japan. It's been interesting how they've kind of yo yoed him in and out of the starting lineup at times, not even considering using him against lefties fact there was a situation last Friday. In the first game of the doubleheader against the Pirates, which they one late in the game Reds are up to they pinch hit with writing on the mound for Aquino. And instead of putting up show go Akiyama in a situation where it's a very least you would want his glove and he's so far has been really good defensively instead. They sent to the plate. Brian Goodwin and you know who knows They get him for two more years. There does seem to be a little bit of a disconnect. Between what the front office how the front office valued show Go Akiyama and how the people in charge of determining playing time value show. Go, Akiyama and let's face it. On base percentage has been a big problem for this team for quite a while and getting production from the leadoff spot has been a problem for this team for quite a while. And Joey Votto. As much as I had no issue with them, trying him in the leadoff spot that really didn't solve any of their issues. This team right now has the 13th best collective on base percentage in the National League, and they haven't been getting much production it all from the leadoff spot. And I kind of thought before the season began. I even wrote about this for the athletic if they're if they're issues with scoring in ways that don't involve home runs are ever going to be solved. That's gonna have to happen because they're getting guys on base consistently, especially at the top of the order and of Shoko Akiyama. Was it going to be able to solve that problem? Then who was going to be able to solve that problem? The answer is nobody now. Maybe we've started to see some glimpses. He's offered some very good at bats. He's worked counts pretty well. He's gotten to strike hits again eight times on basin that three game, Siri's against the Cubs. But he is of utmost importance to this team. If you want to see this team offensively, get out of the rut of not being able to score when the ball's not flying over the outfield fence, and it is going to be really interesting to me. You see what they do with show Gallach show Akiyama next year, especially if there's no designated hitter in the nationally. First things. First Show Go, is leading off tonight against Adam Wainwright. We are getting set for the Reds and Cardinals. Plenty more pregame coverage still to come. You are listening to the Arnell carriers inside pitch on 700 wlw. The hot sun Mom's famous ribs. Choi's laugh change shirt. A picture is worth 1000 words that was nine. With new stick and move. "Start recycling your lineup tonight at the top Has Joey Votto Jo look up contributor to the inside, pitch points out, and I hope I'm not stealing his thunder with what he may have in the second half of the inside, pitch points out. This is the best five games stretching to play for Joey Votto since 2017. Think about that for a second bottle since coming back from his benching. I used air quotes. Well, I guess it was a benching, so I'll take the air quotes away. Eight for 15 3 home runs and a double. He's better the plate 17 times He's gotten on base 10 of those 17 times He's leading off at first base tonight. Nick Castellanos is in right field back second. Jesse Winker after serving the one game suspension last night returns to the lineup. He's the D H and batting. Third U N E O Suarez, your cleanup hitter at third base, Mike Moose, Takis bats, 50 and play Second, You realize Mike Moose Takis has not homered since July, 29th. This is September. Hopefully, he runs the bases better than he did last night in his Reds debut. Jose Garcia is the shortstop. He bats seventh show. Go show Go! "To achieving at the level that we thought they were coming into the year and doing so as soon as tonight because they are running out of time. I tend to believe that the buy in is going to be at minimum. 29 wins to make the postseason. So the simple man, it's quite simply, they gotta go 14 and 11 the rest of the way to this point, they've done nothing to suggest they're capable of doing that. Do these two players are there? The difference makers I'm Brian Goodwin's a difference maker. I think he helps their bench. It's it's also worth pointing out Bryant Bryant Goodwin's under team control for two more years. Their bench has been awful. This year. We've we've watched the likes of Christian Cologne and Travis Jankowski and Josh van Meter. So even with a fully healthy, fully intact roster, they needed bench help. Now you add to it, though, Philip Urban is no longer on this team because he wasn't very good. The Knicks. Stanzel situation is mysterious. So maybe those things create more of an opportunity for Brian Good. Brian Goodwin. Goodwin on a good team is 1/4 outfielder. This is This is not a guy that you bring in and think that in a normal year, this guy's going to play for you 145 or 150 games. But he did hit 17 home runs last year. His splits, meaning how he does against righties and lefties is about the same, so He's not a guy that you can't play against righties or can't play against lefties and they needed bench help. And ideally, Brian Goodwin is Ben Shell, but no on a good team. Brian Goodwin's not starting for you, and if this team is fully intact, and if everybody is playing at the level that we thought they were, Brian Goodwin is not a regular player on the Cincinnati Reds. Yeah, but then again, I mean, look at big for the seeds to start. I remember talking this on opening day. Just like last week. Mohagher. Well, the one area that they're full on. They've got tons out. We got show Go when you got cast away on a sea of Otto and you got sense and and now we're getting another outfielder. So I mean, it makes sense from a bad perspective. But the area we thought were full is like there's no way we need another outfielder. And yet that's what we want up acquiring in AA and Brian Goodwin. Well, we went into the season thinking Nixon's L was going to get regular playing time in the outfield. And and he's missed 15 games since that positive covert 19 tests that were not allowed to directly attribute to him, Um Philip Irvine was supposed to be the solution against left handed pitching. Philip Earvin got 42 plate appearances. And zero extra base hits. So there's a couple of openings there. They're giving. Aristides Akino is shot at it. Aristide is Aquino. We should amazing the watch last August, and I'm in favor of him getting a shot at the same time. He was dreadful in September and He looked Justus clueless last night against non fastballs, as he did in September of last year and and again their bench this season, watching the likes of Marc, Peyton and Christian Cologne and Josh van Meter and fill a bourbon they needed bench help. But because of the absence of San's L, it potentially creates more of an opportunity for Brian Goodwin to start. I'm not sure that's ideal. But again, I kind of feel like the success of this team is going to be a lot more on the shoulder. Of guys like Joey Votto, who's underachieved Mike most doctors whose underachieved Freddy Galvis, who's underachieved Eugenia Suarez, who's underachieved Shoko Akiyama, who's underachieved. Nixon's L, Who's not stayed healthy, the catching position which offensively has been awful. I kind of feel like all those guys all those positions. If this team is playing after September, the 27th. It's going to be because they got a boost in production from all those spots, and it's gonna have less to do with what Brian Good would help me understand is a Reds fan How you could just have a longer list of names have been too productive Players and other organizations and show goes case a whole nother, whole nother league, but nonetheless, it is a track right a success right there. How is it that these guys are not capable of hitting a long ball or getting more hits in the hitter? Friendly park like Gabe? It confounds me. The long ball hasn't been the issue. There are third in the National League in home runs. I think the issue is the inability to score when they're not hitting home runs their third in home runs. They are 12th, or worst in on base percentage and batting count their 11th and runs. This is not a team that can create offense when the ball is not flying over the fence. This is a team watching them all season long. I see a team of guys that is simply just trying to lift the ball out of the ball park almost every single time. And sometimes it works when it does not. You're gonna have a hard time scoring I I think if you look at this team from a power perspective, they've got two guys among the top three in the National League in home runs and cast Jonasson Winker. Who, by the way has been fantastic. The home run total is fine. It's the inability T get guys on base showgirl. Akiyama was supposed to help solve that problem. So go. Akiyama's on base percentage is beneath Billy Hamilton levels. He hasn't fixed that issue. Joey Votto supposed to get on base. Granted, he has swung the bat a little bit better since his benching Joey Votto has not consistently gotten on base. There's nobody in this lineup who does, so you have a lot of solo homers and You have a lot of innings where they get one hit and stranded guy or get two hits and strand boat. They haven't been very good at creating offense when they're not hitting home runs. And that at some point has to be erected. Yeah, I mean, it's your right. I mean, you look at you guys. I got outfielders that can hit the ball. You get infielder since we're talking about sent Albion Ill. And a moose and everybody else and it's just It's so maddening to see the inabilities team to drive runs in, especially if you keep getting back to a hitter friendly, like J. B P hitter friendly park like J. B P. Mohagher on the show this morning from ESPN 15 30 talking about Thea late last minute additions that the rez made Just before the trading deadline, and Archie Bradley. He's a reliever. I'm sorry, Archie Bradley from the Diamondbacks, an outfielder Rob Ryan Goodwin, pitcher and outfielder, respectively, here added to the Reds lineup and hopes that this team could make a push. And at least get a get a wild card spot here too. Last night, obviously watched that game Grand Slam home run. They made a comeback at the end, but yeah, Here we go, You know to sit there and he said, Yeah, it's like I checked in at 71. Morgan. Well, that's over. You know, it's so frustrating for Reds fans and barred people he talked to going. Yeah, well, I turned it off of the fourth inning, this time on DH. That's been that is, but that's been pardoned. Partial sees, you know the drama we had a year ago. It's just not happening now, and it's a much much better team than what they look on in the standings. It should be anyone. At least it's a it's A It's a least supposed to be last night was frustrating because Freddie better videos was, you know with the interim manager last night because David Bell was suspended, and on a night we're handing the DeSclafani clearly didn't have it. For a guy that they go out of their way to avoid having having the pitch to the order of third time He was left in to do exactly that, and he gives up a Grand Slam home run and bakes. Basically, you know, knocks the Reds out of having any chance of winning that ball game last night. They did not manage last night with urgency, but look, it's it's It's a collective effort. Luis Castillo has under performed this year. We've seen individuals in the bullpen underperformed the Um, offensively, we can roll. Mike Moustakas didn't hit a home run in August. It's like a disease. I mean, there's there's there's almost aside from Winker and Bauer and Gray..

"Seekers back, down CAL segers down at his at his average at two ninety enthusiasts around three hundred. But you've got like I mean they cut Daniel Vogel because he is batting ninety four. He's not nine forty. Oh nine four. Yeah. Oh, nine four and all the way to. Canada well not. Canada Buffalo scammy shuffled off the Buffalo. The Buffalo Shuffle though when I'm saying yeah I want to say. Harvey Gera. That guy was just throwing straight gas and it was filthy and nobody could hit him and he's very good. Very, very good. Lawson. Adams came over from Seattle he's a good pitcher. Like San Diego Man I just Look out. Look I. Know I know? You know what? I was excited to see about this trade situation that. Pudge Rodriguez Kid. Is is names Derek. Rodriguez and he got traded to the Tigers from the giants and ice. Yeah I and that's it's nice right. Nothing special. It's nothing fun. You know it's not. It's not spectacular as far as playoff races or anything like that but it's nice and it's GonNa. It's a headline that this kid needs and what I think is cool about it is that you know. This this this man pudge. Produced a pitcher I think that that perfect sense to me it's a cool story. That's all. I think it is. It is Kinda. Funny. Is actually thinking about that. He's a pitcher because it's like. A Lotta Times you'll have. A major league player son will be will be a position player a player same. Close right because he's going to teach him, you know or if he was a pitcher, he might produce a catcher you know because. He's throwing them whatever, but it's it's that pudge a catcher. So he's like bringing it whatever you WANNA throw. A catch it got you and help you hone it. You know I thought that was pretty cool that he learned from a big league catcher how to pitch which I think is a pretty good thing. Pretty. I was thinking going back the other way like you said, a lot of the a Lotta pitchers raise catchers but this the other way around and I think it's even more special because that is such a unique perspective at so fine tuned You know they're so catchers real impact catchers out there like pudge was. is think like man. I hope that guy knows how lucky he is. Yeah because I mean that's one of the things I was working my cousin who's pitching and as like as you know, I can't make a ball curve. I. Don't know how to I can't my arm as like but I can help with your mechanics because I've caught a lot of bullpens you know. Like You know stretch little farther whatever you know come through everything and. It helped him and so I feel like pudge could do a lot with his mechanics and really his pitching approach to that I'm sure that his approaches second not. Maybe, not an ability thing because he's not a star even quite yet but. I'm sure his mental approach to pitching is like. That's what I was. GonNa say well and not just the mental approach to pitching but the mental approach to success to greatness to. Overcoming adversity and resilience and all the stuff. The makes you pudge Rodriguez is good. If you can give half of that. To to his kid Derek. In great shape so Obviously with his own identity and his own learning and his own trials and all the stuff that has to happen. But yeah, I, think I think he's in a good spot. So I thought that was the father son stories always. So it really is and. Like you said although the second generation guys up in Toronto. That's right. Coming from. So yeah, it's it's cool. Now. The reds made an acquisition they acquired Brian Goodwin from the Halos and Goodwin's twenty nine year old lefty he sitting to forty, two, four, homer seventeen is with the angels right now. Does that give the raise would for you? Or excuse me the reds yeah is, is that for the reds the the last little icing on the cake or they plug in a whole? I think there's plugging a hole. To be completely honest with you, I wouldn't have been surprised if they had dealt bauer because he's coming up on an expiring contract and you could get a hall for a guy like that. Right now it's such a healthy you could still compete. Tolan. Opposite honestly like with the way things win them surprised. They didn't go after him new. York. The Yankees gone for him. Yeah. Especially, when like that man I'm just saying it's fine. It's fine. But but they didn't he probably feels about New York way that frigging the kid did. So you know none of my business none of my business. I feel in that way though I could I could very well see him fill in that way that I I don't think at this point he has no trade clause in his contract and I don't think he would just not go no I. Don't think so so. I don't know I don't. The brewers they're playing pretty good ball right now, and the reds are not so much I. Don't know that the reds are GonNa make and. I don't know. Yeah. Question because they could be all I. Don't think he's a difference maker He's he's not necessarily plus plus defensively he's good. Defensively he can. He can hit but he's not a guy who you. He's not a guy you put behind your best hitter to protect him. Behind. Joey. VOTTO. No He's not there every day. Yeah Guy. So you know it's it's just not. That's okay. But you know he's From the reds that's hoping, it would work out. Yeah I. I am too and like I said, I was legitimately surprised they didn't Trade Bauer because yeah I thought it was going to happen. Yeah..

"Gallery. Well, tell you the home of the Cincinnati Ray sure is. Good evening, Kelsey Chevrolet. Extra inning show 700 wlw Mohagher for lands tonight, Lance. Be back tomorrow for the Arnell carriers inside Pitch Game two of the series between the red DS and the Cardinals, which will started 6 40 Game. One did not go so well for the home team. 75 losers. The Reds were at great American Ballpark. Anthony Sclafani gives up a grand slam to Paul to young in the fourth inning, which broke it open. Red's mounted A. I'm not going to say a valiant comeback. Suarez hit a three run homer in the ninth with which made things slightly more interesting, but it adds up to another loss. There. Now five games under 500. They fall to 2.5 games behind the ST Louis Cardinals, and for what it's worth. The Brewers at home tonight. Hold on when a good one against the Pirates 6 to 5. And so Cincinnati falls further behind Milwaukee, who they're also looking up at In the National League Central. It was a busy day off the field the most unusual trade deadline. I think in the history of Major League baseball, the Reds were active, not necessarily swinging. Any sort of blockbuster move, But they did at an outfielder Brian Goodwin from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for minor league lefty Paki Naughton and a player to be named later. Brian Goodwin is Probably on a good team of fourth outfielder. He is a player who has kind of bounced around a bit spent this season and obviously Last with with the Angels had 17 home runs last year spent some time in 2018 with Kansas City spend his first couple of big league seasons with the Washington Nationals. He is going to be 30 years old in November, so he's playing his age 29 season coming into today, he was hitting 2 42 with four homers and O ps of 7 93, which is pretty much in line with his career average. He has been slightly better this despite the fact. He's a left handed hitter. He has been slightly better against lefties than righties. He is extensive playing time at all. Three outfield positions this season in Anaheim had been mainly playing the corner outfield spots, but He has played 110 games in center field so you can pretty much play him anywhere and look forget him starting Although I'm sure he'll get his fair share of starts as long as Nixon's L is not on the roster. This team's bench has been terrible. This year we've talked about David Bells moves in games that often. Involved putting a guy like Travis Jankowski or Christian Cologne or Philip Irvine before he got deaf aid. Ah ah ah bunch of guys who, quite frankly are big League caliber players. This team's bench needed help. Brian Goodwin helps a good teams bench on a bad team like one that's 15 and 20. Perhaps he plays a bigger role. But I kind of viewed it as regardless of what happens with a roasted His Aquino and with the outcome of Nixon's L's return is At the very least, they needed bench help. Brian Goodwin is probably an upgrade from the bench guys. I'm not sure he's a massive upgrade is a starting outfielder, So it kind of depends on what role he's going to be needed to play fully healthy, fully functional team. Maybe getting some maybes occasionally in a starting role against righties, but more likely, better off coming off the bench on a team, though that is just looking for anything where you're just throwing darts trying to find something that works. And then injuries have been a factor and a positive Koven 19 test has been a factor on a team like this pretty decent chance he gets more than just pinch it appearances. Spot starts. Occasionally, we will see. But anyway, Brian Goodwin, the bad today add the relief pitcher they bring in is Archie Bradley. Archie Bradley was closing this year. For the Arizona Diamondbacks. And it's going to be interesting to see the way he is deployed opposite. Obviously. Rice on Iglesias, Uh, right handed pitcher 28 years old actually just turned 28 years old and he has been A workhorse for the Diamondbacks. You go back to 2017. He had a great year was his first year we're leaving, Um, finished. 13 games appeared in 63 his e R A. Was 1 73 not quite as good. Over the last couple of years, but still a guy who took the ball on a regular basis. 76 times in 18 2066 times in 2019. This year, he had appeared in nine games he had finished. I'm sorry he had appeared in 10 games. He had finished nine He had save six. His earned run average was not very good for 22. But there's there's one thing that he does really, really well. It's keep the ball in the ballpark. This season on Ly 10 and two thirds innings But still he had not given up a home run. Last year in 71 2 3rd innings he gave up just five home runs. If you go back to 2017 he has pitched in 227 Big league innings. And given up just 18 homers. And he's also been a high strikeout guy. In those 227 innings, he is fanned 253 batters So intriguing arm. You could always use bullpen help. The bigger question for me, though, around the deadline was going to be. What could they have done for Trevor Bauer? Now? Trevor is obviously staying put, But here's what I want to know. I'm guessing Brian Goodwin's acquisition or RG Bradley's acquisition. Really don't move the meter for you. I'm not really sure it changes how I feel about this team. I certainly don't think it shakes up the balance of power in the National League Central. The Reds have just as a pillow battle getting to the playoffs getting to around 500 today with those two guys joining the team tomorrow, as they did earlier this afternoon before they acquired those two players. But the Trevor Bauer thing was interesting to me. Because a couple of different things, eh? The rides aren't very good. Be Trevor Bauer is he's one of the best pitchers in baseball. See He's due to be a free agent this offseason, an expensive one, too..

"They have also added to their outfield, picking up Brian Goodwin from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and exchange for a lefty Paki Naughton and a player to be named later. The general manager of the Reds. Nick Rahall, met with the media just a few minutes ago at Great American Ballpark. Nikas. You looked at that bullpen options. Why, Archie Bradley and did his role is closer. Have any impact on how you view him? Fitting here? I think that we looked at a lot of different options. It just It wasn't just well, we need a reliever, or we need like this guy to play the outfield. You know, we took a look at the entire landscape of available players tried to figure out what was What was What was cost effective both in terms of in terms of money that we could add to our club, A CZ. Well, as you know, Prospect Capital that we had to give up on. We felt that these two guys were the best fits, you know, looking at Archie Bradley. He's a guy that fits the back into the bullpen. Whether he's in, you know, just bolsters that back into that of your pen. You know, I remember when in 2012. That was one thing we really had that. We had when when you're winning games. You have a lot of relievers that can contribute. You can shorten games you know with, you know, you got Iglesias. You've got Bradley. You've got a mere Garrett. You've got a handful of guys that can really shorten games and we felt the shorter we could make the game with with really good starting staff, the better we're going to be. I guess you kind of.

"I mean again Bryant I think that what marks this era for Democrats, especially is that they hate Donald Trump so much that they will they will watch the country be eroded they will watch America be permanently damaged rather than work with him to find a solution. I mean that is the hallmark legacy of what Schumer and Pelosi early are leaving behind, and I think it is not so much how they personally feel I believe they are afraid of their members they are afraid of the the resistance movement. And so they they cower before it, and they don't do what a genuine opposition party should. Do you should you should critique you should have your own ideas? And then you should negotiate to find solutions. They won't do any of that think of it. They have no ideas on the border. They whatever idea Trump comes up with all. No, no. That won't do. I mean. But what are your ideas? Well, how do you stem this tide or do you think this is fine? Do you think this is we should just have open borders? If that's what you think just say that. But they don't say anything because to do. So would obligate them to work with the president and find the solution by Goodwin? Thanks so much. You have a lot to write about. "Things he's asked. I don't think we'll get them. All I think China is playing by different time clock than we are nonetheless. We don't have to get them all for this to be significant for our economy, and for many millions of American family, and the reason why too is Bowie better give Trump a little bit about what he wants the other thing is they are vulnerable in the word is there's so much infighting within their command economy government between the vice president the president and others and on top of that there's so repressive now more than ever I understand a lot of the creative minds out of their entrepreneurs are heading for the exits they're heading to places like Vietnam in they're heading to the United States of America. You think about it? Brian think about what happened in Saudi Arabia with the the crown prince locked up in one of their top businessmen supposedly to fight over corruption and seized many of their assets look at what's happening in China as you say Europe is still economically something of a basket case in from many of its countries there. And so America is still this safest place to put your money to safest place to invest the most entrepreneurial part of the world, it's still happening here. And I think what Trump has done in terms of regulation all of that's important to taxes. But I think the single most important thing is to simply repeat this notion that we are open for business. "So that's that's exciting to watch on the other hand, you know, baseball's kind of getting away from that right now because you can steal bases, and you know, work a productive out to get into scratch run. And then the opponent can just tied up swinging the bat so teams are kind of moving away from stolen basis. You know, we'll see if the royals kinda grand speed experiment can work. They said they wanna kinda zig while other teams zag, and I I kind of get that. But on the other other other hand, you know, stolen, bases are out of vogue for a reason. But at the very least it'll be exciting to watch as far as how the outfield Lauren's up. Gordon? He's a goal Glover in left field. One of the better defenders still his bat hasn't been good ever since I signed him to that four year seventy two million dollar contract. This'll be the final year of that contract. So it could be you know, could be a farewell for Alex. Gordon? I don't know if he really fits into the plans beyond this year, and he'll be thirty four this year. So doesn't really fit kind of a young rebuilding team. But you know, he's still provides really good defense out there Billy Hamilton. They said we'll be their starting center fielder. Who is not just a great base dealer, but can can really fly in the outfield and as a great ball hawk out there, and I think he'll fit Kauffman stadium. Really? Well, because you know, remember he was playing in a smaller ballpark in Cincinnati. So that kind of limited his range a little bit. And can't Kaufman. He's got a big outfield to cover a lot of ground and his defensive metrics. Could look look really eye-popping out there. I think so he's exciting. The, you know, the big problem with him, of course, as you can't get on base. And you can't still first base. Right. So you know, he's going to have to work to get on base enough to to make those. Stolen bases count. And then the right field. You know, it's interesting. I think so layer will probably end up a D H lot. He's had a lot of injury problems. He his defense is kind of work in progress. I think we'll see some time in right field. But I think they want to D H him more. And I think they're really counting on, you know, remember he was the big return for Wade Davis and he's shown flashes of being a really solid power hitter. But it's never really put it together just because of his injury. So he missed I think they'll find all three and a half months last year. So the royals really need him to come back and be healthy and provide twenty to thirty home runs next year get on base and be solid run producer in the middle of that lineup. So that leaves right field. And right field kind of up for grabs. I think Chris Owings you guys like I think is going to be in the mix. I think it's probably more of a utility player. And he's got pretty good speed to don't don't overlook his speed. He could steal fifteen to twenty bags as even as a reserve player. But I think he's going to be kind of the fourth outfielder. Fifth outfielder maybe play some infield as well. Brian Goodwin has a kind of inside track. I think the playwright field. They got him from the nationals last year, and he didn't do much with the royals because he was hurt. But you know, he's had some some good numbers in limited action with the national. So I think they'll give him a chance and he's out of options. So he can't really be sent to the minor leagues anymore. And then they have Brett Phillips you mentioned who who does have an option year left. They got him from the brewers for Mike Mustafa's last year. And he's got he's he's a tremendous defender at outstanding arm and right field..
