Alright Ian, something developing that watching we're right now in Maryland. 355 northbound South Frederick Avenue. Once you get off the Intercounty Connector, it is looking like there is a large emergency response presence developing in that area just a little bit past West Deer Park Road. So if you were anticipating going northbound on 355 off of 200, maybe just continue down to 270. Take 270 north to West Stymond Avenue 117 and then you can take that back over to 355. Head back up north to North Frederick Avenue if you want to get past what appears to be a large emergency response developing right now on South Frederick Avenue northbound. Elsewhere in Maryland, not too much to report on in terms of volume. The heaviest of volume appears to be on the Bay Bridge where right now because of road work shutting down the eastbound span, the reversible lane is open so there is one lane headed east, one lane headed west over the westbound span of the Bay Bridge Into Virginia, the work zone effect in 395 northbound starts at Ezell Road continues up towards Duke Street once you get to Duke Street it's a single left lane getting by but start getting left before you get to Ezell Road because it's only gonna be two left lanes getting by there. 66 the work zones most prevalent that we are seeing are in Centerville westbound it's the left side blocked eastbound on 66 in Centerville it is the right side blocked if that work zone. "853 a court battle is underway over a former George Washington University building being converted into homeless shelter local property owners in DC's West End are suing the to city prevent it from turning Aston Hall into a shelter for unhoused people with medical conditions. Andrew Ann, a member of the University Senate says his school is doing the right thing making way for the shelter. There is a homelessness crisis and when that homelessness crisis is staring right at you in the face it is very difficult to not address that issue. The GW Hatchet student newspaper reports property interests in the West End filed a lawsuit in mid -July to halt or delay the sale of the building from GW to the city. If you're a woman that drinks sugar sweetened beverages you could be at a higher risk of liver cancer or liver disease. That's according to a new study by the Journal of American Medical Association. Those who drink sugary drinks at least once a day were 1 .75 more times likely to have liver cancer than those who add three or less beverages. And Dimitri right now for folks trying to get out of the district into Virginia. The longest delays we are seeing right now are right now approaching the Springfield interchange on 95 South. We still don't have the accident in our cameras. At last report we were told the accident was blocking the right side. But if you're driving down on 95 South and you can safely call us. Feel free to call WTOP the traffic tip line at 1 -866 -304 -WTOP to let us know what the situation is right now in terms of the response to the accident on 95 South at the Springfield interchange. Once you get down past the Springfield town center, you'll be cruising down 95 South until you get to about mile marker 143. That is where the delays start before you get down Stafford mile marker 140, a disabled truck in the middle lane is forcing a single file left to get by through there up into Maryland. No delays on the Capitol Beltway 270 moving well in both directions. The longest delays you'll have will be on the BW Parkway, but just some minor in congestion both directions heading in and out of the district. I'm Brian Alvin, WTOP traffic now to Steve Rudin. "Sermon .com. That's not a It's solution. 928 traffic and weather the on 8th. There's Bryan Albin in the WTOP Traffic Center. And we have heavy delays right now on I -270 Southbound. The work zone was in effect just before the 270 495 divide after where the express and the local lanes urged. But then a crash happened right alongside the work zone in the third lane from right. what So we now have is just a single right lane getting by before the 270 495 divide. And it's forcing what looks like about five lanes worth of traffic to have to get over right to one single lane and therefore we have some pretty heavy delays at this time. The other the direction on 270 Northbound in Gaithersburg between I -370 and Montgomery Village. I have two left lanes get by at that work zone back in the other direction southbound. Once you get past that crash, Capitol the Beltway moving well in all directions. Once you get over the American Legion Bridge though, you will not be able to go southbound on the George Washington Parkway in Virginia. That's because it is closed between the Capitol Beltway and the Roosevelt Bridge due to damage from the storms on Saturday northbound on the GW Parkway between Spout Run Parkway and Chain Bridge Road. All lanes blocked as well. Traffic being diverted to Spout Run. You will be able to pick up the GW Parkway after Chain Bridge Road to take you over to the Beltway. I I'm Brian Alban UTOP traffic. And Dan, we continue to see rain falling throughout the region, presenting us with wet roads, so as always, we want to remind you if you're driving out there, make sure you are keeping a safe traveling distance behind the car in front of you. Give yourself an opportunity to shield yourself from some of the potential road spray out there. Right now in Maryland, route 50 westbound before davidsonville road, there is crash activity in that area. We do not have eyes on it at the moment, so we can't tell you what potential lane blockages there might be, but if you are headed westbound on route 50 after the bay bridge before you get to davidsonville road, be prepared to proceed with caution at the site of a crash. Elsewhere in Maryland, interstate two 70 excuse me, moving well in both directions from Gaithersburg down towards Rockville also the BW Parkway moving all right in both directions as well. Into Virginia, I 66 westbound, it appears that there is both lanes open again at sycamore street on westbound 66 at the site of police activity a tow truck onsite in the shoulder area, but it does appear at this time that both lanes once again are open. And Dan it lasts report a crash investigation continues in Brian's road, Maryland, Maryland route two 27 Marshall hall road in both directions between cannon park road and strawberry drive is closed due to that crash investigation. Elsewhere in Maryland, westbound, route 50 over the bay bridge moving well right now. Also on two 70 southbound, we're not seeing any slowdowns from about urbana down through Rockville also Baltimore, Washington Parkway, moving a little bit better than it was moments ago, it seems like maybe in our cameras some of that rain could be slowing down just a little bit at the moment. No roadwork being done on the capitol beltway tonight. That means all lanes are open at the moment and likewise we are seeing a steady flow of traffic through both the inner loop and the outer loop down into Virginia on I 66 westbound in Arlington at sycamore street, the right side is blocked at the moment due to police activity moving towards the district 95 up through Fredericksburg to the three 95 interchange moving well and 66 eastbound from false church into Arlington is moving nicely at the moment. Meanwhile, last update we had from route 29 in Centreville southbound before I 66. It is a left lane getting by at the scene of the crash, inner loop in Tyson's a little bit of delays at that work zone, which has a single left lane getting by between dulles toll road and Georgetown pike in the opposite direction on the outer loop. It is two right lanes getting by between George Washington Parkway in Georgetown pike. Up into Maryland, no major delays to report at the moment. "Barrier. According to a Secret Service spokesperson it happened late last night just before 10 p.m. Monday night on the north side of Lafayette square we're told near The White House officers were able to detain the driver and no Secret Service officers or White House personnel were hurt in the crash. Officials say the truck has been deemed safe after an inspection investigators believe the dryer may have intentionally crashed into the barrier. They say charges will be filed by U.S. park police. A couple of work zones we want to keep you posted on the I 66 eastbound and fairfax before and after fairfax county Parkway a single right lane gets by at the work zone and then further on eastbound in Arlington between fairfax drive and spout run Parkway. It's going to be a left lane getting by at the work zone and then westbound on I 66 in the Rosalind tunnel.
