"You brought up Jon Lester and I thought the most interesting thing about this is Jon Lester is I can say Howard asked at this time of the morning. He's a guy that has been through 24 7. Yes, School is ah, Utah. I love talking to him in the clubhouse. And you know, conversation could go on for 10 minutes or 20 minutes or 30 minutes and you walk away thinking boy? That guy knows baseball. I just learned something right? And I was concerned when earlier in the week and after his last starter to heed voiced concerns about his confidence going forward. That's not Jon Lester. We know That's not him. Now He's 36. Obviously, you know, the end is nearing its always nearing for all of us. But as a baseball player, the end is nearing for him. This is his last year with the Cubs under contract. And he wants to perform the best He can, and he's not been happy with what's been going on. But I was watching the Marquis network on the post game last night, and they were breaking down how Lester attacked the Brewers yesterday with his cutter and four seamer. He got 16. Swings and misses 12 of the 16 rounds cutter in his four seamer yesterday, and he was able to do pitch well, do everything he could possibly do to get the Cubs to get a win last night. They just couldn't hit Brandon Woodruff earlier this year. They have better success against. I think he's pitched against only three times. So, but you got to get some hits, but I was happy to see Jon Lester. Now, if I'm Lester, I go in the locker room and listen. I busted my tail to try and keep us in games. Let's go. Let's pick it up. We've got 2.5 a little more than two weeks to go. Let's hold onto this first place position might might question the Cubs fans is 3123323776 people always talk about the window, The windows wide open all the windows closed. And this this feels like you got like a popsicle stick trying to hate hold the window up and that stick is bending right now because of your big guys Don't hit on field talked about it a couple days ago. Apparently, they didn't get the memo or they got it for a day. Right? For one inning. Anyone? Yeah, If you're big guys are going to hit. You can't win in baseball. Nowadays, it's just pitching is only going to get you so far. Even if you're pitching is doing well.

Milwaukee Brewers designate Smoak for assignment, add Vogelbach

"To play first base for the Brewers moving forward. I think we got indication based off. The comments made by David Stern's Tio Tom had recorded the Journal Sentinel earlier today, but we don't know for sure. Now, when the Brewers that designated for assignment Justin Smoak, and at the same time bring in another first baseman, and Daniel Vogel back, I think it's there's a logical thing that says, OK, smoke out Vogel Bach in he's going to be the guy over at first base. I don't think it's gonna work out that way. Because just based off the comments that Stern's made earlier today, it really sounds like Jed Jerko is going to be the guy who's going to be given the first opportunity to play first base a lot. Not There's going to be the every day guy, but he's might be the closest thing that the Brewers have to it, and Jerko is mainly face left handers. This year. There has been There's a good chance that you listening to this right now might be kind of throwing your hands up in the air going Finally, because I could tell you just seeing what I see on Social media. There have been a lot of people that have been calling for Jerko to play more often. In fact, it kind of goes back to a bigger question, and we've discussed this before on Brewer's extra innings. When you've got historical data. And then you've got, like right now Data. How do you How do you juggle those two things against each other? And that's why Jerko has played so much against left handed starters because from you look at what he's done over the course of his career. A and he he has done has been very successful against lefties not as successful against righties now this year that hasn't held up he hasn't been given is many opportunities against right handers. But he said, Okay, success against right handers this year and he's been okay against ah, against lefties as well. And that's that's kind of where where it's been at for this year. Now he's going to be given an opportunity to face righties and lefties. That's going to be his job. I would think again. I'm just kind of reading between the lines and seeing what David Stern said earlier today. It really feels like Jed Jerko is going to be given that first opportunity to be the guy who plays first base a lot. It's a

Eric Edgar Cooke Is The Night Caller

"In January of Nineteen Fifty, nine, twenty, eight year old Eric Cook was in pain. His face was in fresh scratches drawing even more attention to his recognizable harelips features. If anyone asked what happened, Cook blame the scratch marks on his eldest son who was developmentally handicapped while Cook blamed his son for his injuries. The true culprit was thirty-three-year-old Pnina Berkman when Cook attacked Panini in her apartment on January twenty ninth she fought back her long manicured nails gouged his face as she tried desperately to repel. In the end, it was a fight, Pennino couldn't win. She died under living room floor after cook ran from the flat. The city of Perth Austrailia was rocked by the shocking murder and leads quickly dried up cook left now, prints and DNA technology was too rudimentary to conclusively tiny one to the blood under Pineda's nails residents in the Wembley area reported seeing Prowler in the neighborhood on nights leading up to the attack but no one could give a clear description of the man so as. Long as he kept his head down, Cook was in the clear and that's just what he did for the next six months. Cook was relatively inactive but by August he couldn't control his urges any longer be eighth. He left his wife Sally at home with their children and set off into the shadows he ended up in the affluent area of Midland's the suburb was popular with students of the nearby university making it a prime target for cook who loved to Peek in windows at potential targets. One. Such student was seventeen year old Alex Don, who was spending the night alone at her sister's apartment as Alex slept twenty nine year old cook made his way around the building. Until he found an open window, it was too small and high to be an obvious entry point, which is probably why anyone neglected to close it. But Cook wasn't deterred once he managed to scramble through the window he rifled through Alex's purse taking what little money the nursing student had. But even as experienced and quiet as cook was the teen woke up panicking cook seized something heavy, perhaps a fire poker and Hit over the head knocking her out, not wanting to wait for the girl to wake up cook left the way he came in Alex was left alone until the next morning when friends arrived in rushed to the hospital in addition to a nasty Gash above her I Alex suffered a fractured skull and was left with a severe form of epilepsy that derailed her career aspirations and would affect her for the rest of her life. Not that Eric Cook had any cares about the woman who's life he just ruined by the time Alex finally left the hospital in September he'd already moved onto a fresh. Suburb. Full of new houses and clueless victims for the prolific cat burglar a few months. Later, his new favourite haunt was the wealthy neighborhood of Brookwood flats on an early visit to one building. He stole a key from the ground floor apartment of Betty Johnston then returned to burgle the place of few times. Betty's next door neighbor was twenty, two year old daughter, Jillian brewer and terrier designer. Jillian caught cooks I on one of his visits and he took pleasure watching through the window as the young woman had sex with her fiance. But watching evidently wasn't enough Vanessa's going to take over on. The psychology here, and throughout the episode please note Vanessa is not a licensed psychologist or a psychiatrist but she has done a lot of research for the show thanks Greg in a later assessment of his psychological development Dr Aaron. Samuel Ellis stated that Cook was sexually naive and afraid of women who might conceivably test his sexual adequacy. It's possible that this misguided fear or hatred of a sexually confident unmarried woman caused cooks thoughts to turn to violence. This theory aligns with cooks first murder victim Panini Berkman who had no qualms about having sex outside of wedlock and even had the gall to sleep naked.

I'm sorry I had no idea that was frowned upon this garage. Yeah. You know I could I I knew what we were doing maybe wasn't gonna fly with everyone but. I thought maybe they would appreciate the creativity of it a little more. They're they're police officers their under high tension these days they're not in the business of appreciating your creativity although we appreciate it I mean we consider your God amongst men. "Where are you gonNa Watch, today both the brewers and? The bucks question. Talk and text line open for one, four, seven, nine, nine, one, nine, seven, three. And cannot come over. We're going to be on the golf course for the brewers game. I know. But can I come over for the bucks game? With my shield and my bubble. Come Watch is in the Gazebo a Mave, it big screen. Josh's ready. Got His cream city hat. He's got his mean mug youngest shirt. Ready. To Go. I am excited. This is going to be great. The NBA product on television looks and feels pretty good at least from what I saw last night and I. Think it's going to get intense pretty quickly. This first part where everyone's just getting back into the flow and they've got to eliminate the scrub teams they invited down to Camp Orlando that's GonNa be whatever. But yeah I I came out last night clippers and Lakers went out of pretty good. And the clippers minus a lot of benched players gave the Lakers a pretty good run it. So now we. I. Believe it was confirmed. Right? We don't have content or let's let's so tonight right. So. After make, that's right. They'll make George coach George, Hill run the point I'll be fine coach Bud will nobody's a bigger George Hill Fan than me. I love that guy. Like get that guy more minutes it's going to get more minutes. I got John is talking about what they're gonNA do here from the big guy for like I need as many Mansa sponsored just being out there bird in on just playing the game he's long concert will just being in Phnom a lot of situations organ that nobody nobody again, you know how they are in those situations and personal latest is using this eight games like layoff shape. Okay there's as much as possible as much as possible I. Love It I. Love it So last night, I, the poll question asked today on twitter and I don't know why some people don't. Maybe I phrased it wrong they did question. Are we at peak social justice signaling in sports or is there more to come? Yes or no? I guess that's two questions, right The more to come means no were not at peak. So I shouldn't have asked the second part, but you get my point are we there yet or not? I'm not even sure how they could do more of the players. The coaches in their post game comments are talking about cases and issues that matter to them. Some players have been only saying that like, well, how's your jump shot tonight? I just want justice for Briana Taylor and so and so and so so. How long cannot sustain? How long will that go on? Will that wear off at some point? Technically, players were not supposed to be allowed to kneel but Adam silver last night said he was going to make an exception for it because, of course, the moment in the League finally back. Okay. So if there's gotta be more, I'm not sure where the more could come from I said that the NCWA is going to allow this these messages on players jerseys I wonder if that applies to every NCWA sport. So can you on the softball team? Trick Out Your Jersey with the name that matters to you and what are the guidelines to the NC Double A.'s permissions on messages or names in other words what social justice can you be involved in? Like for example, could you put Dunkin donuts on your shirt? Saying, that's your cause by causes. Dunkin donuts if I just so happened to get free Dunkin donuts out of this I can't help one guy puts Dunkin the guy puts donuts go stand next to each other right tag-team yup like shake and bake the one thing I know is that College kids are always not one step ahead of the adults, three steps ahead of the adults. So they're going to think of things and ways member the kid at. College Game Day. By the way. I'm just I'm just thinking of. How pissed I'm going to be at no college game day this fall. It they're not going to have that even if they have college football, they're not gonNA. Let a bunch of students gather. Asked cheek the Jowl for four hours just to get a glimpse of Kirk herbstreit. Are they know they can't right now remember the Guy College Game Day though he brought his vent he bought it brought a sign with his then mo account Yeah and here for money and did he ask for beer asking for money for beer okay? Yeah. Nannies and he got a ton of money and then they dug up like some of his. No he was. It was good for he got a ton of money and he said he used like twenty dollars of it to buy a case of natty light and then He. Yes, exactly, and then they still like shut it down or. Darnell Carson King was the yeah. That was the guy writing but but here's the thing he thought. Hey. It doesn't matter that it makes no sense to give a random college kid actual money for beer. People will do it. Because here's my Venezuela. Count on television people did it as alert the size of that audience was so great. He didn't have to have a hit rate percentage. Any better than the death rate of cove nineteen, just a tiny sliver was enough for him to have a huge windfall. And nobody thought of that but a college kid. So when the NCWA says, we're going to allow messages on Jerseys Trust me. The college kids will be not one not two but three steps ahead. So we'll see if it gets out of hand. I'm just worried about getting some games first and foremost and the latest from Brett mcmurphy is that conference USA will keep their eight-game League sheduled. And allow schools to play as many non CON Games as they want. It could also be possible for conference USA teams to play each other. As. Non Conference opponents. If schools need more games. Wow. And the SEC said, we're going to go all conference all the time, which is actually kind of a cool thing because. It's the best conference. Sorry big ten fans. Did I just blaspheme here and big ten land am I going to get pushback or no? No, we'll just get some emails left to sort through. Can can can sensible people even? Here in big ten land, and of course, I'm a big ten land to with Maryland. Sure. Can they just admit that? Okay maybe the SEC is not better it has but let's say it's not. It's more colorful. For right it is bored deep fried southern. Football I think the SEC has like the overall best teams got but from top to bottom I write a big ten is probably better right the depth than the big ten better because it's fourteen teams. We have good depth in the conference because we call it ten in its really fourteen yet we brought extra. So the SEC says, that's what they're doing. They're gonNA go a little bit later hopefully, things simmer down just a bit who knows if they will. There's some expectation that when college students are brought back onto campuses, which will be in most of the SEC states and schools that there could be an uptick in cases. So this buys them time who knows. College football's all over the map baseball is getting a little loose right now with this rule about seven inning doubleheaders, can we go around the Horn and get a quick opinion on? Do you like seven inning baseball games in the middle of a pandemic? Yes or no? No..

"It makes sense yeah it does. It makes perfect sense. Look what i'm what i'm getting at is. I'm have emotionally detached myself a little bit <hes> from you know from. I've it's not realistic that the brewers win the division per se but they still could right. I'm not i'm still a fan. I'm not giving up hope. I'm saying you know if they blow it in the seventh inning. I'm not gonna lose my mind anymore. You know it'll be like well. I guess that's is that that's what this year's been all the way along yeah yeah tonight to all right. The truth is probably re-testing texting. You all kinds of nasty stuff if they blow slowed again but that's fine yeah every set by expectations dammit right right all right yeah cubs. I've i've blabber all. I know that's been ridiculous. Well you know the cubs. I think considering some of the injury things which are out of our control. They're they're hanging in there pretty good. I mean the willson contreras. He's he's been out since august fifth now. <hes> you know brandon anamar. Oh now he's out for the year <hes> he's not gonna come back. He had a setback during his recovery and he's he's not coming back this year. <hes> ben zobrist zobrist <hes> they are saying oh expected to return actions september first against the brewers so <hes> september call up ben zobrist <hes> so that'll be interesting to see <hes> you know and then yeah just through through the season has been just different injuries as you know. Kimbro was out for a little bit. He's back bullpen and sad some issues kinzler. <hes> patriots trump was out. He's back although not doing so good i i you you know he's still not pitching great but <hes> but yeah i think given given that i i'm you know i. I think that they're doing all right <hes> so i i'm. I'm still hopeful on on winning the division. It's basically gonna come down to the rest of the season here in particular the games against the cardinals and against the brewers those are i mean that the main i mean seven against it's gonna be fun game. It's gonna get wild. Seven gay is exactly in fact. We've got yeah it's next week is our cupboards preview as a matter of failed so that should be dropping fry. Yeah we do that friday friday on the thirtieth. We'll get that one out before before that <hes> begins <hes> well or might be during ring during that first game. It's a one twenty starts so you know what it might be. One of those ones where you get to listen to the podcast right after the ballgame when you need some more some more more content a little bit more crap talking between ryan and myself yeah and yeah of course you can always come at us on twitter. I'm at brew winning and i've been a little bit out of a a whiny be lately. It's cool different thing too damn tired i._b._m. Yeah well well. I've tweeted some stuff at you here and there and you're not really replying so you must be crabby. Well i get up at nobody cares. Eh wants to hear this but i get up at four thirty in the morning and i get home at five thirty at night. I fall asleep on the couch around eight or nine trying to watch a ballgame. That's monday through thursday the weekends. I should be better but then we're doing stuff. It's just been busy and i've been tired and the brewers have been sucking. Yeah i haven't responded yeah sounds ah a bunch of excuses and then the real reason the app pretty much well you know i just finished on expectation of the cup so i'm still i'm still hopeful. I think there's a lot to to be played. I think i do need to mention though <hes> one sparked unexpected spark which is keeping them keeping them in there is nicholas cast janos <hes> he has been just a beast since joining the cubs available <hes> nigh <hes>. He's got eighty ninety one plate appearances eighty six at bats. He's batting three eighty four. She's got a one point one seven three oh p._s. Since joining the cubs very nice yeah that's just been unbelievable. <hes> so that's that's been fun. He's in be fun to watch the rest of the year and i i hope they the extent him and keep him because he's also got a great attitude looks like a nice fit in there so <hes> you know i yeah ah kind of unexpected didn't know i mean but you know that's a thing sure that's where you can look at the numbers having a pretty good year. He was leading the league in doubles when you picked him up yeah yeah but he wasn't. I mean you know in detroit. <hes> he batted two seventy three seven nine zero p. s. yeah i ed quite a few where a few doubles but <hes> you know decent decent but if you look at his numbers as career numbers you know he spent seven years in detroit trait. He batted two seventy four seventy three. Oh p s. I mean <hes> you know you look at that and you think ok well. That's not bad but yeah. I mean you know. Can this continue you. I don't know but he's he's been. Absolutely you know incredible on the cubs and he's he's said <hes> i he said like he was. He was suffocating in in detroit. I think this being stuck in detroit for seven years <hes> i it's like he's got new life in him now. He's like oh now. I'm on a team. That's competing thing and i think it made a huge and detroit head a little bit of success while he was there much right right. You know if you go back seven years for lander on the squad. I think you know there was a little bit of success earlier on but yeah the last few years have been rough in detroit just to go tit for tat a little bit on that <hes> you want to you know that that was nice edition from theo we talked about how the bruiser trying to catch lightning in a bottle in one of these pitcher jordan lyles might qualify <hes> since coming over he's he's dropped his strikeout-to-walk ratio from pittsburgh at two point seven three to one point seven seven soon averaging less than two walks per nine. That's a big number but most importantly he's. He's you know he's had five starts. He's three and one in those five starts with a two point six seven e._r._a. <hes> he's been exactly what they've needed. Now granted. He's only thrown twenty seven innings things in five stars which means they're only getting about five innings five and a third of them per start but <hes> without those kinds of efforts to spruce squad would be i five games back six games back would be what i'd just be sitting here listening to you talk about the cubs and i would just be complaining and looking at next year mostly lateness. Oh yeah now i. It's been nice to see a couple of guys step up pitch will actually the starting pitching has been pretty decent outside of <hes> a game or two here there lately but <hes> the bullpen sucks. That's that's not getting yeah. Yeah yeah so castanos nice good stuff okay. That's the arrows versus lyles. That's the big discussion today right. Yeah exactly yes <hes> <hes> speaking of which is at <hes> possible to happen <hes> next weekend. What's that lyles versus kosti yeah i betcha. Could let's take a look at the <hes>. Let's take a look at the schedule a little bit further out here. <hes> got anything posted for probables right <hes>. Let's see here yeah. I mean i guess <hes> you know. There's some of the injury things that have gone on in the days off have really thrown off kind of how i try to guess with the brewers are going to do although it's been relatively consistent lately. Let's take a look doody. Yup milwaukee's all like to be determined on the major site yeah. It's very possible that jordan lyles will start against ashikaga. I mean it's <hes> you'd probably want somebody. That's performing quite well to do so last night he pitch so that was a friday night game. Today is saturday sunday. They you go monday tuesday wednesday. The cubs might actually miss them to be honest without okay. Well the yeah i mean. I guess we'll know for sure next. <hes> <hes> friday are on friday when we <hes> record when we get into the yeah we'll we'll be able to dig in a little deeper but just pitched last night. I don't believe that will be the case as for him. Okay well <hes> but it's a guess yeah so i'm you know what are we good on. Expectations are we. I basically i'm i'm roughly the same expectations just slightly humbled mainly because of injuries <hes> but then some mm sparkling home with casinos and you know you had the cubs being the best team in the national league just like the brewers being the best team in the national league well now. I mean th- obviously that's that's given that's out the out the window i i don't know that i was saying that though we we we did say that we thought wins would be watered down a bit in central just because of the strength vision which i think ben true a lot of pointing you so i would say probably that but also i think there's this division has underperformed to our expectations general yeah yeah a little bit. I mean you know i'm looking. Let's see n._f._l. Central averages versus the east <hes> thirteen and thirteen versus west twelve and thirteen and <hes>. I would have expected them to yeah. I would have expected the central to be beating those other divisions. That's where i thought the extra win and they're more come from or to claw right right right. There are more <hes> even there <hes> actually the biggest thing is the home and road. I mean even the whole al central just their their home in rhode records are just you know average average home record for n._f._l. Central teams is thirty six twenty. Seven average road record is twenty six thirty six <hes> and that's the biggest difference than you know out of all all the divisions in the national league <hes> which is which is crazy <hes> such a split there is some yeah the home road split and a lot of that is because the cubs are supposed to be one of the better teams in if the cubs held up their end on the road than the division vision would look much better on the road period yeah. They were very for cincinnati very poor on the road as well though <hes> although i mean they well cincinnati. It just doesn't know what a win by the score boatloads runs and they gotta win over five hundred at home. They're twenty three and thirty six on the road so pittsburgh. This is all that's terrible. Well under five hundred plane a bandbox in you pitch well inside bandbox cincinnati does for some right yeah yeah. They're thirty seven thirty seven to thirty one at home <hes> so okay <hes> but yeah the cubs forty four twenty and twenty five thirty nine. I mean that's a big big split. <hes> saint louis is a little more <hes> reasonable. They're just thirty one thirty four on the road <hes> thirty eight twenty four at home <hes> but <hes> yeah that that's you know so that's kind of one one thing but i do think you know i mean versus a central <hes> teams higher up are above five hundred versus central. <hes> teams lower are are under five hundred. I mean that averages bridges versus central average of all the teams in the central is twenty eight twenty eight. You know which you know which is normal yeah. Yeah i mean that makes accents yeah but we were expecting the central across the board to be better. Which is where our expectations have been reset again. <hes> yeah you asked at at the beginning of this <hes>. If there was anything else i wanted to added to add to the reset concepts. Just this like i'm a pretty passionate fan. So are you but sometimes <hes> you know you just gotta be able to take that step back and find the next thing to watch for right <hes> i was really getting upset on a a regular basis not like it wasn't affecting my day to day living okay but you know getting upset like that isn't good for you anyway and i just i've found something new to watch for these young and guys what is next year's team going to look like and in the meantime milwaukee's not out of this. There's a lot of cool pieces to watch for and see how they perform. In a pennant senate race these young guys that are up right now and they're playing and pitching in heated heavy pennant race type stuff is gonna be very valuable down the road for this club because this club does rely on its young young players. It's not a big market team so that's something i look forward to watching for the rest of the year and seeing how it pans out because i wasn't expecting a bunch of young guys to be pitching ching and hitting on this club this season kevin here is about the only thing i expected and the way it's gone. We've got a bunch of guys that are inexperienced playing right now so it's kind of cool in a way that it was very beautiful. Yeah thank you yeah. I know i'm rambling on i had to do i didn't know what to do well. Let's let's do predictions now and then yeah. Let's do it right now that that oh you brewers fans listening you know all shed some tears during your monologue bear okay it was terrible i know but that's what i had take a break down a different way and i. I think it's totally reasonable. It is very reasonable still leaves room to be excited and it's reasonable. Yes i've got a prediction. I guess let's cue either working with a song i oh yeah we yeah song which <hes> yeah okay. Let's hear it is whom.

"The brewers get preponderance preponderance going to help this team he's a nice picture he's a he's a he's a good addition to the ball they traded their number three prospect in the organization Mauricio do bond the brewers organization is rank last right now in terms of their minor league rankings and the players that are in it so maybe a Marie CO two bond would not be the number three prospect for an organization that has a more highly ranked minor league system memory COD Bonnie still a good player and what they got for new party Bon is drew bothering and they got another minor league pitcher that's gonna slide into the low twenties in terms of prospect rankings it was tough this year so this is not a brewers problem I know you're listening to the show it's brewers weekly you probably don't care about what the Yankees do you probably don't care about what the cardinals and cubs are doing outside the fact that I can impact the brewers because they're all fighting for the division but this is not a brewers thank this is a baseball thing where deals just could not get made this year and that is this week's edition of going deep let's grab a quick phone call will go to Doug in fort Atkinson hay dug your own brewers weekly hi I only have two comments when I when here came out it is our only ninety five there you are first day so you know you're in trouble and selected playing at the top of the seventh when they had the bases loaded no outs in the end the only for the guy was Yeley scoring on up all Patrick dogs are they're having a heck of a time getting hits with runners in scoring position and it's almost more frustrating that they get activity on the bases and they don't come up with the big hit you'd almost rather than just not even getting the base runners because when they're getting all these base runners you're seeing them come up with it to them when they really need a home they're not getting up and I think I think the entire fanbase is very frustrated about that aspect of the team and I I really think that the bigger if they're in that second half and then up at all the pictures come out there and the guys try hold wrote one round yeah Doug you're right and then they come out you have to do that is best they tell of bad start if you go on again and it's like everybody the minute they cover all bases are loaded I get get a grand slam don't hit the damn ball I dug I appreciate the call a and Craig Counsell talked about it today he admitted that his team from an office of standpoint the bats do have to do more than I can really hard on ourselves no we're.

"For the brewers and the last year basically didn't have a job as a fastball high and tight and that's ball four. To Cameron maiden. With one. Comes a base runner. And here is Donovan Solano. Solano came on as a runner for Joe panic in the sixth inning. This is his first plate appearance. Panik had a single and a double two for four with a run batted in. Giants thirteen Cleveland nothing here in the seventh. Oakland ended up hitting three home runs in that game. Is it dry fouled on the right deal? I no sooner had. The Mariners taken that five to two lead. Then. Chris Davis had a two run home in the man who lead the majors in home runs last year with forty eight. Hit a two run home run and it was five to four. But then the Mariners started pulling away little bit. They gotta run in the fourth to make it six to four and then. They got three more runs in the fifth inning, including a home run by Tim Beckham Beckham who had previously been with the Baltimore Orioles in the American League had a three hit game, including that home run. Now a fastball inside to Solano. One ball one strike. Oakland. Hit another home run later in that ball game with a couple of men on to make it nine two seven. And that was the final score. A lot of action and five home runs were hit in that game. Now a slider and that's off the inside to and one to salon Allen rather Henry on deck. The pitcher's.

"A pure left handed hitter. He's read there with one of the he's he's right? There is a third baseman in terms of ofensive ability. He strikes out a little bit too much for some people's liking. But for for the most parties is one of the more solid third basement. And and I'm sure as a Red Sox fan, you're not exactly thrilled with that trade. But yeah, early worked out for the brewers definitely not thrilled especially with production or lack thereof from Tyler thornburg, health and otherwise. Yeah. Exactly thornburgh. I'm he he should be back. This you shouldn't. Yeah. They actually just resign him to to actually cheap deal. So that's pretty exciting that we finally get to see him pitch for more than twenty games. No doubt. Yeah. He's going to end up being a decent piece for him. If he can stay healthy. So help me out with Orlando arsia kinda give me the profile and him and what to expect from him. Yeah. So I'm going to start off at his defense because I think when you talk more Landau arsia that's exactly where you need to start. And his defense is probably I would say at this point of his career top five in baseball. He is an elite defender by every definition of the word. There's some place that he can pull off that are just ridiculously good. It was just as often. So it was holding them back from really taking that next step. And then you got to see it all started in Chicago for game one sixty three of the regular season when his office of game really took on a whole life. And he was he started driving the ball. He was hitting balls into gaps. He was his early in the season. He was a guy that he he would swing and you would ask yourself. What is he doing? And then. By the end of the year. He looked like he belonged at the plate. And I'm curious to see if he can make that I'm curious to see if you can bring that over for next year considering that they just got a new hitting coach went from Darnell Coles to Andy Hanes Hanes from the Chicago Cubs. So I'm curious to see if he can if he can bring that over. I'm not exactly the most often mystic, but he showed enough late in the season. That makes you wonder if it was sustainable, and you have the ability with him to be kind of patient because you still have him under control. I mean through our let's say till twenty twenty two so faces something you're allowed to have with him, especially when you have guys around and probably not going to be coming up as fast. I mean, you you probably won't see Bryce terrain until twenty twenty two which is X of the year that he that are finally gets out of our. But there's pieces around him and having the pop around him should protect him in. Allow him to hit better in this line of next year. I would think I would think so too. And the most thing I wanted to mention as well with Travis shots transition. A second base was Orlando CIA's defense in his range at shortstop made travel. Shaw's his role at second base lot easier, and so two shifts, and it really it should not be discounted. How important Orlando RICO was for the brewers defense being as good as it wasn't the infield. Even with a Camember the exact phrasing that one of the brewers called the last year, but it was something along the lines of an office of Lyman or an office of line infield..

"Brewers game q. Coverage starts at one game at fifteen. KOA newsradio. Eat good feel good at Tokyo. Joe's. Now on Colorado's morning news. Now, we've lost the game. It's not really a big deal. Tomorrow and the next day going to go back to Colorado in play. That is check nasty Charlie Blackmon after yesterday's extra innings loss in an LDS game. One the Rockies come back late forcing extra innings with the brewers. But in the end fall short in and out of the game. One three two two manager, bud. Black shared his thoughts on the game and post game press conference. Shoot. Their starter. Good. I mean he was pitching with with philosophy. Very good slider. He was pitching aggressive in the same. The same thing for the kid from Saint Mary's. He threw the ball. Well, too. Knievel threw the ball. Well, haters the ball. But then eventually we got to Jefferson, but I think it was more about how they threw the ball. Then you know are at bats. I mean, they pitched really really well. Stop this that did you think about maybe walking him or did you just feel the Ottawa's throwing without shirt? And then and then we got edit them and couldn't couldn't put them away. But I think auto will tell you if you talk to them that you know, some of these two pitches potted gotta have to be a better place. We saw one you know, the other night against by us. I mean where. You know, just didn't happen this afternoon or tonight, but you get no points for being close. But the way your team came back, you know, in a in this as well the travel and the way they fought their butts off you must take a door. Do you take something out of it? They just just says something about our players for sure. You know, where we've been the last couple of weeks to play through those last couple of weeks to get to where we are now. And the just the, you know, the daily. You know, the daily grit and drive that these guys show I'm gonna showing up at showed up in the, you know, showed up today late, but you know, that sort of the characteristic of this group that you know, they play art. I know it's overplayed little bit. But you know, this group truly plays heart. And it's it's awesome. It's awesome. Comments of butt-black their post game against the brewers tough game. It was an interesting game to as well as you watching the strategy of pitching the bullpen. I. But then having the starters come in late almost sort of blew up in the end. But the brewers doing a nice job in the Rockies doing a heck of job in the comeback in nice comments from butt-black five fifteen is we chat a little more sports here with Mike,.

"As an opportunity to be a very good brewer without changing much might think moving from miami to milwaukee for its home game as well expand his power number's a little that without him doing anything else now with that said yeah it would be nice if he could you know kind of bend to the swing change mentality that's going around right now see if he could put the ball in the air a little more but with that said i think um the brewers have been a team that strikes out a lot for a long time i think having a guy like yellowed with plus plate disciplined i'm improves that a little bit in fact the brewers now have i think three of the national league's top twelve guys and walks from a year ago ingelligence names and santana um they should be a team that will lease take up based on ball the or if they do strike out a little bit so i think yellow had the opportunity to be a a really great addition for this team and yeah of the two most of my questions about guys brewers acquires it's winter center on the renzo can't because cain is a very good player has been for a while has been since he was the brewer uh but he is ageing and a big amount of his value is tied to his ability to play plus defensive centerfield i'm so if two years from now he is thirty four years old and his legs don't allow him to place center anymore i'm not sure what the last three years of contractor going to look like for the brewers but in the short term you know if the the brewers are serious about building for 2018 to 2020 i'm very clearly the renzo can makes this team better in the short term and you know when they get to that that window at the end of the the cane deal they'll have to figure out on by that point ryan bronze money will be off the.

"The defense in peru very much although is throwing arm is very good makes up for a point to is kind of slow running speed it's really hard to believe that two years ago allen the brewers acquired him they thought he could play center field but yeah as an offensive player i'm you're looking at a guy with a pretty advanced approach my guy who will take a fair number of walks um he does i'm strike out a fair amount also which is part of the side effect that working deepened accounts unless you're joey votto i'm and there's only one of those so you know i think offensively you know i've gone out on a limb and feted a couple of times i think of that in the facebook group even i'm of all the guys on this brewer team right now domingo's santana maybe hasn't outside shot at having a five hundred homerun type of career being a guy who stayed in the big league the longtime can hit steadily um and has a run that looks a lot like you know carlos lear nelson crews i'm someone kind of in that vein where defensively he's not going to help you a lot but often to lee he's always going to be good enough to make it a good idea to play emily sometimes i was seeing in the news that a earlier thursday many pina hit two home runs of the springfree game and he looks like he's currently the front runner to play most often behind the plate for the brewers situation back there is many pina's steven vote jet dandies hanging around in jacob nottingham as in there somewhere maybe the fourth guy on the deaths start but pena is a he's an atypical starting at or at least semi regular catcher on no really what to call them roles are weird these days but he just had his first kind of regular season in the majors last year your thirty years old he held his own he was outstanding defensively he hit just about league average there is power in there but do you consider the brewers situation behind the plate to be a weakness something they could upgrade i know people have connected them or at least tried to connect them to.

"The combination of the lack of sustained height raff picks and the yellow trade which did send a couple of high upside guys and the organization away that that's organization back a little bit and the brewers were able to deal from a position of strength to a point they dealt away a couple of outfielders men it somewhat understandable because if you look at the three guys who project to play most disney outfield christian yellow lorenzo cannoned domingo's santana you're talking about five years of club control i'm pretty much across the board so it would have been awhile before an opportunity he had come around for a guy like lewis brinson her monte harrison but nonetheless the brewers yeah they they built up through organization through trades and through that the brief rebuild and they were able to gain a lot of ground via trade but some of that has gone some of those guys the brewers they're trying to win a little bit ahead of schedule and so i think some of those guys are going to be a little bit behind uh the wave as it turns out but there's an opportunity for some of these guys to come up and crack the roster the challenge is going to be in the brewers are dealing with this with brand of would refrain now you're do you want to lead a guy learn in the big leagues while you're trying to win the end so they're never becomes a good time to really break one of those guys in and this was the whole the lewis brinson fell into a little bit as well if you feel like they might struggle for a month but you need to win in that month how how do you build around that how'd you get these guys the opportunity with a deep like this that score somebody rivers broke out last season but one player who i guess sort of rug out but didn't really emerge as.

"I'm never thrown a lot more than that um the the brewers were intending to try him as a starter realistically the bestcase scenario is maybe you get four months out of that experiment before you're looking at in an informant may and a very heartening limit to prevent him from potentially wrecking his career and so yet for them to to stick him in the bullpen last year with a gutsy move it might have been the right move to make to try to contend as they were trying to contend a year ago uh but it probably did limit their options a little bit going forward because if they do want to try him as a starting pitcher now it's going to be very difficult to try to find a way to make that transition now in the meantime he's a tremendously vote valuable bullpen arm i'm especially if the guy who threw with lefthanded mindy ability to pick and choose which in and he works in i think will be a a really good thing for craig counsel i'm not binding into the ninth inning and a closer role i'm gives him the opportunity to come in at a time when matchups are really in his favour and so yeah he has the opportunity to be a great reliever it's hard not to wonder if the brewers are missing an opportunity to do more with them i'm especially given the question marks around the rotation in baseball prospectuses most recent organisational rankings the brewers dropped from third last year to 19th this year which must be one of the biggest drops and that's partly for good reasons the graduated a lot of guys but one of the byproducts of the fact that they've gotten good so quickly is that they're not going to have a sustained run of high draft picks the way that say the astor's and the cubs did so is they're going to be sort of a second wave of prospects that can prop up this team or is what we've seen sort of it to they have to make whatever they're going to be after out of players who have already made it up to the majors for the most part there is potentially another wave of pitching comic corbyn burned of the guy who is really climbed up your of.
