Brett Tolman: The Real Authority of U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves
"Want you to listen to this We can do it here We have multiple platforms Want you to listen to this This is Brett tolman who was a U.S. attorney in Utah really really top lawyer And he's very soft spoken so check it out Cut 22 go But you make a very good point The us attorneys nominated by the president not the attorney general and confirmed by the Senate They are presidential appointees and they serve at the pleasure of the president So despite what the practices may be the last couple of decades you're making the point It's a very important point that the U.S. attorney in Washington D.C. I believe his name is graves That he has his own authority to act that he doesn't have to sit around and worry about what the criminal division of the public integrity section or the U.S. attorney's office or the attorney general or anybody else has to say to open an investigation at a minimum and to bring an indictment correct That's exactly right He has all that authority and I'll tell you something else that I've learned relative to this The outgoing U.S. attorney at the time of January 6th Had identified a very small number of individuals that should be prosecuted And had indicated to DoJ that that was his intention They forced him out because he did not have the same vision that they did in terms of what they would turn the January 6th prosecution into And so I think about that and who they put in in their place and it is someone that will toe the line and follow what Washington D.C. wants And that is the greatest injustice we have because now we see that they will do make decisions and use their power to based on politics rather than based on the facts and the evidence which would result in a lot of people being prosecuted and put in jail including the Biden family

Brett Favre Calls for Fox News Boycott Over Carlson Exit
"I want to go back to this Brett Favre. He posts on social media, the megyn Kelly clip, and Megan is really, really scorching Fox News over their termination of Tucker Carlson. Here was Brett Favre last night. He was a guest with Eric bolling on newsmax. First and foremost, I like to watch like the 5 or Jesse waters. Happy. I like watching Fox, but I think we need to make a stand and I say, people who are mainly conservative people who believe in certain things. Seem to be more than the other side seem to be the silent majority. And I think we need to make a stand. That was basically what I was trying to express. Such an intriguing point about submitting to the mob that wants to suppress somebody like Tucker Carlson, who arguably was one of the bravest, most compelling hours of television anywhere. You turned on that show, you didn't know if you did things on UFOs. He took on COVID vaccines. He took on election integrity. He did it all.

The Woke Totalitarian Arsonists Hate the Constitution
"We have known for a while that the totalitarian arsonists that are trying to take over the country. You could call them the woke, the Marxist, the American Democrat party. They hate the constitution. We know that. The constitution is the greatest political document ever written. This is exactly why they're doing everything they possibly can to abolish the Electoral College to add new states to give them the power to be able to have HR one. They've been engaging in a hundred year project to destroy the constitution. The promise of the founding fathers. They don't like the idea of separation of powers consent to the governed and independent judiciary. They don't like that. And they especially want the third branch of government, article three of the United States Constitution, the Supreme Court to act and absolute lockstep harmony with the administrative state. You see, Congress largely does the bidding of the administrative state. You want a war in eastern Ukraine. You want the borders wide open. You want to have the military go totally trans. You'll find enough legislators to kind of just turn a blind eye. The executive branch is the administrative state. That fourth branch of government. But the Supreme Court largely thanks to president Donald Trump, by the way, president Donald Trump winning the 2016 election giving us Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, running the table. Three Supreme Court Justices that have largely done a great job. I mean, there's been some decisions I don't like, but it's been a great job. Has changed the game. Now all of a sudden there is a counterbalance to this nonstop blitzkrieg on our freedoms and liberties brought to you by the unchecked fourth branch of government. You see the Supreme Court striking down roe versus wade, reconsidering the Chevron decision, reconsidering the lemon decision, their restoring the constitution as the bedrock authority for the American government and the left doesn't like that.

Why Joe Biden Should Never Be in Office With Victoria Toensing
"Was, well, one main reason, amongst hundreds, why Joe Biden should never be in public office again, let alone the president, and this is the reason. This is a circus. It's a national disgrace. It is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks. Who in any way deign to think for themselves? And it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, you will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured, by a committee of the U.S., U.S. Senate, rather than hung from a tree. God bless that man. I love watching that clip, especially with Ginny Thomas in the background looking steely eyed at her husband, supporting him in his refusal, refusal to surrender before the scum, and the bigots of the Democrat party and especially the chairman of that committee, who was who? Joe Biden, a racist who didn't want a black conservative on the Supreme Court. And now Victoria, they're going after him again the same thing. It's his turn again. Right. Because you know Brett Kavanaugh had false accusation of the sexual attack. And the woman couldn't remember where or when. And all of her witnesses denied that they remember anything like that happening. And then Schumer went out in front of the Supreme Court. And said, you've got such and Kavanaugh, you have reaped the world. And then Amy. Was she was mocked for being a handmaiden, which the definition is that you're a woman who's subservient to everyone. I don't think that's quite fitted. And then she was criticized for adopting a black child. And

Document Leak Story Isn't Adding Up
"Okay, so now Washington Post Washington Post was dealing with this other young man that was on this platform. I guess he was going around giving information. Let me ask you this. What's the significance between this guy allegedly being at for Brett or at fort Bragg, which he was not but ultimately at the Massachusetts base? Does it matter? As far as the access he would have had not really because so at four rack is the joint special operations command. And so that has people from army air force navy there within that part of fort Bragg. So there are some air force people stationed there. And with what they did with his intelligence wing, he was in an intelligence part of the air force. And what they did, I've been told from my sources that he would have had that act that information would have been going through that base where he was, not necessarily that he should have been accessing it, but it would have been going through there. So for this, it doesn't matter whether he was at fort Bragg or he was on Cape Cod.

The Worst Indictment Ever? With Alan Dershowitz
"Joining us now is professor Dershowitz, author of the new book that all of you should check out, get Trump, and I understand it's no longer an independent bookstore. What is going on? What country are we living in here? Professor, welcome back to the program. You're immediate reaction to now the arraignment of Trump and the indictment in the indictment that's now been made public your reaction. It's the weakest criminal case, I've seen in 60 years of practicing and teaching criminal law. The basic theory behind the prosecution and the indictment is that when Trump paid a $130,000, as hush money to make sure that stormy Daniels didn't publicly reveal her accusation of an adulterous affair that when he paid the $130,000, he was obliged to immediately list it in his public corporate forms and tell the reason why he paid the hush money. Now, would anybody ever pay hush money if they had to immediately disclose, oh, I paid the hush money to keep quiet the fact that I had or was accused of having this affair since the time Alexander Hamilton paid hush money when he was the Secretary of the Treasury. Never has anybody ever been prosecuted for not completely disclosing on a corporate form. The reason he paid the hush money is this is a nonsense case. It never would have been brought other than the fact that it's Donald Trump. Brett campaigned on get Trump. He won. And now he wants the same jurors who voted for him on the platform of get Trump to help him get Trump. It's a travesty of injustice.

Jack Posobiec Calls in From the NYC Courthouse
"Okay, we got Jack posobiec live on the ground in New York City right outside the courthouse. Trump is now in the courthouse, the arrest is happening. Jack posobiec if you can hear me, please take it away. Start riffing what's going on vibe on the ground, Jack posobiec. All right, Charlie, you can hear right now I'm not sure if you can it's being picked up by the microphone. Multiple helicopters overhead. We've got NYPD everywhere. The boys in blue keeping everyone safe. Hundreds of Trump supporters behind me over my right shoulder in the park, Concord, Bond park directly across the street, protesting this unconstitutional and unbelievable act and unprecedented act that's taking place just over my left shoulder here at the courthouse in Manhattan. Where DA Alvin Bragg is currently, as I speak, going through the arraignment of president Trump, the fingerprinting, we don't know yet whether or not there will be a mug shot. There's been some question as to whether or not that will begin. Then we are told that president Trump is planning or what they're planning to do is take him through the tombs, which is a series of underground tunnels that connect the civic center here in Manhattan. They'll be taking him through those same tombs like any other common criminal that will be then brought to the criminal courthouse there. He will face his arraignment at two 15 at that time. We will see what the conditions of his release will be. That's really where this big question is coming up of a gag order. Are they going to try to put a gag on the 45th president of the United States of America and try to deprive him of his First Amendment right not only to speak out against political injustice, but also to speak for the American people. And even just to be able to defend himself in the face of this absolute tyranny that we see going on here in the streets of New York.

Why the 2024 Electoral Map Is Far Stronger for the GOP
"The Democrats are nervous. They know the map. We're going to talk about this a lot moving more. This is why the Wisconsin Supreme Court seat is so important Republican Republicans couldn't care less. But if you just take a step back, you realize, oh my goodness, because the sun belt explosion and the reconfiguration of the census, you have to win three states. They're not easy states to win. The two of the states have more Republicans registered than Democrats and all three Donald Trump have won before. Listen to this, I was on the great Tim pools program last night, Tim cast played 31. Every ten years we do a census as mandated by the constitution. Most people don't know this, but the map has slightly changed in Trump and the Republican favor for the first time for 2024. So the maps are good for three cycles and then you redo them. Good for three cycles. Actually two cycles redo them. Well, what do you mean? Right right here it's saying, let me show you. Okay, so let's make let's assume Texas goes red. Is that fair enough to say? Oh, easily. And Florida. Yep. Okay, let's assume Pennsylvania goes blue, please. And then New Hampshire goes blue. And then all of Maine goes blue. Really? Yeah. Let me show you. Michigan goes blue. I know what I'm doing. And Minnesota goes blue and Minnesota. And then Nevada goes blue. And Nevada goes below Iowa goes red. In Ohio goes to rent. And North Carolina goes red. And that's okay. So what you have right here is why they fear Trump. All Trump has to do is win Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin and he's the president of the United States. Three states he won in 2016, three states that receive Zuckerberg money, three states that have elected statewide Republicans and three states that have more well, two states that have more Republicans registered than Democrats in Georgia Arizona and one state that's 50 50. This is why the Democrats are indicting Trump the map has changed. The map has slightly changed. That was not the case in 2020. You needed an extra state. You could get to a two 70 tie, but it required that small carve out in Nebraska or it required a Nevada required a Michigan required a Pennsylvania, blue states have lost population, sunbelt red states have increased population and it just so happened the stars have aligned that it's a three state presidential election. It's all right there. No one's talking about it at the time. Oh my goodness, who can win? Any Republican can win. Trump can win with this, especially to get your ballot chasing thing in order, especially if we win the Supreme Court. See, tonight in Wisconsin,

It's a chaotic scene down there. It is unbelievable. People, you know, just horrible people who have totally bought into this witch hunt and the political persecution of president Trump is outrageous. There's almost no words. You can't even describe it. But there's also a lot of supporters and protesters for president Trump on the ground. They may not be wearing maga hats. They're wearing plain clothes, but they are standing out there supporting president Trump. Congresswoman Greene, how should we respond to this? What should be the Republican response? We've called for indictments and subpoenas and handcuffs and perp walks for major Democrats across the country because now that they've crossed the Rubicon on this sad and tragic and disgusting day against our republic, how should we respond to this? Democrats Cross the Rubicon As Trump Gets Indicted
"Country that I grew up in has been dying for quite some time. Many people say, well, Charlie, don't we get our country back easily? Yesterday? The Rubicon was crossed. The river Rubicon, of course, goes to the story of Julius Caesar, deciding to start a Roman Civil War. The Democrats did this. Front page of The New York Times. Trump indicted. There is no going back. There is no reversing it. We are now in a new set of circumstances. The republic that we once enjoyed that we celebrated that we were appreciative of it that we were thankful for, it's over. They decided they killed it. It's not to say that the country is over, but we are in a completely new set of circumstances. A completely new scenario. And yes, I am wearing the hat for a reason because you better believe right now. That this is a direct assault, a direct attack on every single one of you. Those of you that pay your taxes. Those of you that go to church. Those of you that believe that America is the greatest nation ever to exist the history of the world. They hate you. This was a revenge indictment. These people are pathological. They're petty. They're personal. And of course, they're political. They hate the fact that the character that they were laughing about on SNL ever became president. They hate the fact that Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch are on the Supreme Court. They hate the fact that he showed that the border could be secure. The economy started to grow. He brokered Middle East peace, kept China in check, Putin never invaded. Hey, the fact that middle class wages were going up, hated the fact that Donald Trump was creating a beautiful diverse movement of people of all different backgrounds and ages, religions, to believe in the revitalization of America. Hey, the fact that he was able to get violent crime and check, he was going after the cartels. No, all of this is centered on revenge, but more than that, they want to do a Soviet style show trial, a public humiliation. You can not see what happened yesterday with the indictment of Trump and be naive any longer. And I am not an alarmist. I'm not someone who says, oh, you know, this is time to engage in hyperbole. The Democrats have not believed in elections for quite some time.

Where you had Tucker and a lot of the other host Hannity Ingram all saying pretty much about the same thing. You know, the challenge Gina and I remember this conversation being had at Fox when roger ailes was still alive. Did you get to watch all of it? I did, and I was actually shouting follow-up questions at the television. I felt like an insane person. Why didn't he do? Do people not understand the concept in Congress and in the media? They don't understand the concept of follow-up questions. His best questions I thought came from the people who were tweeting the questions and he would ask. He would ask some pretty solid questions, but there were so many missed opportunities for follow-up. And I will tell you that the field is not big. I do like Brett bear most of the time I think that he tries to be down the middle. Politician Freudian slip, but a journalist, but it was disheartening because there were so many opportunities for follow-up. And especially when it came, I think the big glaring one for me was whether or not they had undercover people at the capitol. There should have been more questioning about that. He obviously alluded to yes. I mean, my goodness, if anybody listened to Christopher wray and his answer to the question about whether or not they were agents in place at the capitol, the answer from him was yes in the way that he evaded the question. So there is so much more and there's so much more about how people have been arrested why trials have taken so long there's just been so there were so many missed spots, I thought I was a little disappointed in the interview, but it was funny because in the morning answer today we had a little disagreement with my co host granted. Tell me. Tell me. Well, when he was talking about COVID, you know, he comes along and says, well, the FBI believes that this came from a Wuhan lab. I mean, first of all, welcome to the party. So we asked the question on Twitter, what's the one word you would use to describe where college athletics is heading? We'll share your thoughts later in the program. Q is up next in deep gap North Carolina. Good afternoon, Paul. Been a while since we've chatted. Hey there. When is it decision in Johnson V and CAA expected? I think it's sometime off based on, I think we had the amicus briefs filed, but I still think it's in the federal court in the hopper. Yeah, I've got a strong New Zealand Johnson will prevail. And I think what that's going to produce is the ability to pay players similar to what they would get if they had part time jobs in college. This morning, I waited 20 minutes and if McDonald's line because they were so short of help and I asked the young man when I paid for my sausage mcgriddle, what was going on, he said you couldn't hire anybody at $20 an hour at that rate, Paul. They could pay every college football player 25,000 a year. It barely make a dent in anticipated TV revenues and it would take the pressure completely off of paying in a hail money until kids had established one year in school, whether they are either recruits or transfers. And it would put an end to the bidding system using in IL to attract kids. I think how do you sell a name in an image if you've never played it down for that school. It's patently ridiculous. Thank you, bob. You got me confused and I apologize for not listening closely, but what exactly is a sausage mcgriddle? That is a little, it's like a little muffin that has a piece of southern sausage with hot cheese on it. A dollar and 40 cents at McDonald's and it's the best damn breakfast to eat on the way to the golf course money can buy. I like it. That sounds like a 20 minutes. 20 minutes. For a mcgriddle. Well, you could have got it. Most people get it with eggs, but I don't like it with that. You could have got the Burger King and probably got it in half the time, but it wouldn't have been nearly as good, right? Now here's the thing. I really like what the lady from the Southwest conference said. I think she's on the right track. I think big time football is going to have to make a decision to go its own by itself where the corporate veil and look at similar to the NFL exemption for antitrust exemption they got in 61 to negotiate TV contracts as a single entity. Maybe with different providers, but the truth is, we're going to see a cut line from universities that are willing to belly up two and a half $1 million for starters for every for their football personnel annually. And to meet the needs and a whole lot of teams are not going to be willing to do that. And to that end, if we do go with a special entity, which I wrote you a letter about and I felt about that, one of the things we're going to see, I believe, is similar to the NFL, they're going to see expect a balanced performance requirement that may let teams like Vanderbilt and duke and Georgia Tech and any number of academic institutions that do not have a taste for professional athletics at the university level. It'll let them out of the game. I think she's exactly right. I think what's good for big time college football is not really necessarily good for NCAA athletics. And it's time we got real about dealing with that. Yeah, I agree with you. And thank you for the call. I think what the commissioner said yesterday is where we're going. It's already a flawed system. Can you imagine you start adding to the super conferences that we have now what's even more meek and weight in heft? Let's check out Steve in Texas, a hello Steve. Hey, Paul. Hi, good afternoon. First time caller here. Wonderful. Hey man, I just okay, first of all, I don't understand why everybody's up, you know, I was getting so excited about this, these two these two California teams coming over. What have they done lately, Paul? If I'm not feeling mistaken, when's the last time they even competed for football national championship? Well, Steve, I would agree. They haven't done much, but no, no. You can't base everything on that. I know a lot of people in the south like to say, well, you haven't won a game. But here's the deal. SC made a dramatic move a couple of months ago by bringing in Lincoln Riley. He immediately brought one of the top two or three quarterbacks in the country, brought one of the top wide receivers in the country. It's a program that is ascending. UCLA, UCLA is not exciting at all, but they're just the dumpy little brother that goes along for the ride. Okay. But what it also does is it makes the Big Ten a much more powerful conference. And if you're in an arms race, and you're the SEC, you can laugh at the Big Ten if you want, but do it at your own risk. You're getting Texas OU. Much digging today. Hey, hey, Steve. What in the world's Texas done the last ten years, pal. Well, obviously they beat USC in O 5. I'll tell you what, I am not a mathematician, but O 5 is a little bit longer than the last couple of years. Good try though. What was O 5? 17 years ago? That's a Texan for you. The kid came back training camp with just a complete different mindset and it was just like you wipe the slate clean and once that attack this thing get after you know you guys heard him mention about get with open and finding out. How can you know if better teams So it was really an awesome store to see him. Just you know get his position move struggle but just continue to work. And just the blinders on and not listen to the outside noise just control. You can control. He did that he may plays. And you know certainly excited about his upside. You jodi be the first one to tell you that he's still not finished product. There's there's some more that needs to be done but a main you know just seeing him go in their land up in line and and take on some guys in the in the preseason and throw throws around as a blocker go down and cover kicks. It was transmitted growth in his in a short amount of time. And don't always athletic. And you got a great wingspan. Great hands so Again he'd be the first one to tell you that there's more work to do but excited for him and he certainly earned this roster spot got time for a couple more guys will go nick and then sam good nick rattle hall up to this Wrote when you're deciding on some of the final roster spots with actors you kinda waded into who to take with the waiver move on from a combination of You know special teams injuries at the time. So you know is always tough because there is that element of trying to project. Who will get claimed that who won't get claim You know also the communication. We have the coaching staff in regards in the drinks in regards to player status the first few weeks on making sure we can get through on. We got a tough schedule and again right off the bat coming out of the gate with a very strong opponent so we just wanna make sure that we're not all of a sudden lineup. We wanted in down at tom. And then just you know long-term Brooklyn and get together and bounce different ideas. We probably had about three or four different ideas of of the rostrum. We just kinda worked through it kind of came to decisions because although in from positioning your roster from where it was in april where it is today kind of surprises intrigued. Intrigues you but with the roster of becoming well. that's a good question. I think it's just kind of like we always say you know from where we warrant april. I'm not sure if guys like Mike us if he was on the roster or if we at that time we hadn't seen jody fortunate we thought dirty forts in spring now the sporting the camp so You know. I think it's it just kind of doubled down on that mindset of just continue to add players in you know we can make at the time before training camp if we could make the ninetieth player better than we have in our. Ostriches continued that. Because these guys do grown develop at different rates. And you know If you if you have a conviction about a guy or or It's all guys process. thurn college early career. If you have an opportunity to go out and get guys like mike us guy. We like coming out That opportunities every took it a jodi minnow but we allow him to continue to grow and develop so it really kinda just double double down on the at that You can never have enough to players in continues for ninety two or fifty three now to the practice squad to watch guys if we can get better on. The fresca guys will We'll make moves. They're the last to san. Miguel puts him a couple of quick things but You mentioned the fact that injury sort of dictate some things. Some time on wondering if Willie gays dealing with affected. Rosser decisions at all. Yeah i mean. I'd rather have an coach talk. Talk about that I know it's their deal there but Apparently there's some things are working through there and Go trump's eleven update you know in the next twenty four hours there. I don't have all the information. But it does factor into play You know in regards to Going back to what. I just said a few minutes ago just making sure that. We're not caught shorthanded. We want to make sure we have death. Penalties positions in. You know it works out in and you know we're carrying after this position but if not prepared so Elect cushion and area. But again all these things factor in the plane certainly getting up to speed in in being Deep at a position right off the bat and week one his his the or the process. Just lastly we saw marcus. Champa lot rotating with the ones or tuesday camp and obviously a special teams players. While can you kind of update us on his situation as he agai. You can proceeding back on this roster. He'll be back in nod anticipating being on the active roster in you know we'll have a corresponding move at a certain time here. We have some different areas to do different things but But i'd safe to say that that more can't can't believe back here and reverted contribute a hopefully we want..

Yeah across the room. The man who was the spirit he goes back in the house and sits things flare him he says to us. I wouldn't evidence and and again all of these people could be crazy including story. He says it was not the man which was the thing. We were kind of hoping that it was in fact the people who had lived in this house and they hated the energy of the sisters friend teenage go and they were trying to get her to leave the house because they did not like her energy and trying to scare at the house. That was the story he came back with. And for the regular understand. You can say wing say this man is using the word of it and as fucking amenities what i can tell you is. That's what so. I don't know what it means. And yet and yet wasn't until ten years later watching a sunset that you thought there might be more going on such a good point really good point what happened in between in those ten years that i lost good. Even i believe. Maybe you deleted it may. That's maybe they were guys but not good. It was a godless afterlife. Guys knocking about chugging coins. Each other right. Oh wow that's intense. I get.

I love horror films per realize hers as people getting hurt. I let her films where it's guys. Why because it makes me more kind of icy. I like the idea of guys satellite. The idea more going smoke mystery more about that. Goes if i saw a ghost not only would it be scary. That'd be like oh no god real. Yeah there's more going on. Yeah it'd be very difficult very challenging. You know the only everyone's going to be bored by this. 'cause i've told a million but when i go home if i stay in my mom's house which i don't often do and i sleep on the bed where our cat's died every morning it's reliable. I'll wake up to the feeling exactly of the cat jumping up on the bed and curling up next to me. It'd be one thing if it was once it's every morning and if i sort of like i'm awake If i keep my eyes closed and to sit very still labor is still. i'll feel it walking around just kinda rubbing up on me. I'll feel the cap and it's reliable tomorrow morning over my adds nothing there. No cats in the house are there are now but weren't too. That's a good cat cat. One what is it fam- also like to add. If it is a gift go up is. I'll say thing. I'll say the thing we're thinking you pay me to say the thing here we're thinking about these fucking huge and jesus christ. What a relief. Because we thought from the first ghostbusters was going to be your baby until it was twenty two. Yes and one said anything at the time because we've embarrassed. We thought this was forever. Now we found isn't forever. we can laugh about yes. That's right and no one. Well the bomb didn't look thrilled and one of the girlfriend started like what i got. I got one of these. I think that's enough of that. Oh shit yeah somebody like. Oh here. Because i sorta doubled down. I was like why it was. It was a very south baby but now it's not that's all i'm saying that a judgment i'm just like i think that's enough. I got one of those right. And i say three things happened now. He's number one. I would have left the party one after one. I'm done for the next three years like in metric. I'm now thinking about. Optimism is like i'm not fit for parties is what you're saying. I'm not fit for human consumption. I'm right for the world. I'm a little silica. Jackets have silica that they put in things. I'm gonna throw me away when you open up the thing i is. Why are you keeping. I'm not gonna be dry anymore. Get rid of me. I barely did anything anyway. Yeah throw the silica dangerous to start with. Because you don't let me be eaten by your child. Although it does look like a snack. I'm we'll be silent okay. So they were just here with the baby. Yeah we're still friends. And i mentioned to the guy a how i felt bad about that. We were talking about something else. And then i realized there was actually something kinda beautiful going on. Which is i was like. Trying to bond with the dab like let's be bros. Let's make jokes about your fat. Let's have some because it was a very feminine kind of feeling party and this sounds really kind of. Maybe i'm talking about out my ass but i swear. I think we uncovered today that it was his attempt to bro out. Like be like we're kind of at the moment it was me and him and seven women and i and it was me being like. Hey let's talk about fat babies. Which i'm not saying it's the only way you can have masculine energy. But it's one of the ways you can have masculine energy. Let's call something out Let's have fun. Let's be. I said to him. Let's start a small fire not a dangerous fire but just a small fire to signal to him like that fund today. Yeah and he. I think i'm pretty sure he. He received that message and appreciate it. But if i was immediately blind out by other people and he went okay. Blown out the fire. Got you another british term. As lemme out you play someone out can a great reader me this i it when i think of trauma genuine trauma if you say i once did a thing in therapy right. Sure we'll let therapy is not debate sacred thing and she said to me before seen i wanted to write down the ten most traumatic things that have happened in your life that constantly holding you when you play on lips right now in my life things have happened. Car accident muggings near dead violence etc. That they wouldn't they wouldn't get close to top ten real ted a times. I've been embarrassed. Wow which is why. you're funding. Do you rely on or would you a mugging before an embarrassing. That's really interesting like your story. You just told me. I genuinely feel if that happened to me in someone going. I think that's enough. That would be like worse than car wag. I car accident go. Yeah was that was tough but the embarrassment of the fucking pace shit of that enough of that's enough of that. I became that whole. What you're doing is you. That's enough that's enough of that. I think that's enough at that. I've gained a little weight here. She started using herself. As you wanna talk about how. I've gained a little weight here and it was like a baby is a baby who always not same routes. Here's where i am like my dad. My dad at bible studies would say to the pastor. Do you ever go to the bathroom and play with your due to do and hit. Say what and say that's when you take the empty toilet paper roll and go do to do too. And i got a little bit of that. Meaning if i'm joking and someone is doesn't like it. I'll just have a little bit of a auto running program that goes i got okay. That's good. it is a great skill. Lighten up i wish i had. I don't always have it. But if on the top ten of my traumas obviously my voice. my wife My first wife telling me she was having those are all on there. My dad giving away my ninja. Turtles is literally on there. I mean for real. I believe i'm embarrassed. How often i go. Though i wasn't done with the mike judge's gavel is one that would that's it. That's it i wasn't done with those. Oh god that that. I mean i'm not in that space now but if i really like sing with that it it is it was hurtful. Yeah 'cause you're like what do you think i'm like a candy ass or something like and this is how you relate to me by giving my toys away. What's one you the top ten with. Oh or yeah going. No no no no no go give me one it would just it would It would be like a social situation. I've said something is really a simple and you think of one. Can you give me a fat fat baby. You can't now that we're talking about him. Sort of really owning. Like why did i say you used to be such a fat baby. I i listen if i would have. Baby ba- fled. I'd say thank you for noticing the work i've put in. You'd be battered. I'd be bad balance at bellagio. And i'd be like thank you. I would say to the other adults here. I felt really self conscious because none of us sifi said anything about thank you. Give me a fat baby. What does small baby for you. What is this this thing. Isn't it a coach. I'm struggling to think of a specific one. But that's the beauty of comedy right is you're always taking risks. Always a risk right every every little bull you're throwing up is a risk right or should be. Yeah i've done a lot of sets that are safe and you're like i have no thrill because you know yeah you have to take a risk and the best busy when you take a risk and the audience. What is this and then you land. Of course the best. Yeah now you understand but yeah well. The fat baby is a is a risk because because people care about babies. If i said you used to be such a fat baby and then every and the mom just dies giving and goes everyone's walking on egg shells because the babies to be fat. Yeah and no one wants to say it but you just set it and it opens up an everyone just the baby gets you on his show. It is it. If i'm being honest. I wonder if that was my if i don't think that's what i thought was going to happen. Yeah i think i thought was going to happen. Was what happened. Went in self-destruct my and that's why that's what the only virtuous thing about it was. I was trying to signal to the dad like let's have fun. Let's let's take little risks. Do you think that you made your inside. you're outside. do you think you came. And again i'm busy. I'm not good at these things..

It's pain is a feeling of existential like a vacuum of like anything main like in movies when a bomb goes off and they play the high pitch like that. Yeah stupid stupid. Some people use that as evidence that there's no god the booze just the flaws in design like What's her name julia. Sweeney in her woman show talked about like human beings aren't the most beloved creatures of god if there was a god because like occupy have way better eyeballs than we do and like she goes through. Everybody just sort of like reporting to me. But i'm not. I'm not starting with the hypothesis. God loves human beings the most no so she's sort of it's not it's not a straw man that is the belief system of most people they'd be like we're i was talking to my Somebody in my extended family about eating meat. I don't eat meat. Who cares and he was like. Why not and i was like. Why do you eat meat. Anyone well god gave us dominion over the animals. And i was like you don't want someone said something and you're just like it's over this. We're not talking anymore. If there's a better one than god gave us dominion over the animal. That's a really good shortcut introduce. That lives ago. Okay cool and then that's right. I think god gave us dominion dominion dominion dominion. Was he from the odin days. It's gotta be in the ot the ot okay. Yeah you're no. Have you ever gotten this before. This is so stupid. This is the new version of i. Don't know what a sad is on the tv show. You're so convincing on. That must be football. I mean i thought you just were what i. You're a writer who got became an actor. I got a a real athlete to pretend. And i was like look at this guy really. It is look at this guy but for a different reason although you were a performer. The agai you notice. I thought i was talking too much. If i just sit here quietly. Tell me everything Delighted i mean look. I'm not a football. I mean i did notice. There's not a lot of shots of you very fancy with your feet. I'm too. I mean i'm well what's funny is when i when i signed up when i auditioned and they said do you play football and i said well since i was six but sure at about football much. That was fucking lies so much football. That's so fun. And more. And more case i started to be like i feel like i wasn't this football in this and we had like train is i mean it was it was like they were oftentimes. I quite far. How is it hard. I can run. Yes and that seems to be most of it from what i can tell from. Football is Someone kicks that ball the ball. And you're right you run after an like but the thing of it. Fetch like bend. It like beckham. how about run after. What beckham bent bad bent it. Then we'll you do run run run chasing what back bent and is what if you look at. The percentage of what beckham is doing bending. It is like one percent. He's barely bending he's bending it wants.

You tell me this There are things some stand ups can do in some and annoyance will for example there was a guiding naming. These are very very good standard. Excellent up but he looks like a professor. He's got glasses and these toll sort of has the look of a teacher and he's very clever and he stuff clever and it's brilliant one of the greats. He did a show about sex about his sex life with his ex. It was a really good show. Technically very funny good. Jason people didn't like it because they were like unlike you talking about sex. I get it because you're a professor. Yeah anyone else. Someone else could do that. Same show and it would be amazing. Isn't that you're offending us is that we are doing sex stuff. I'm gonna join you. Go anthony jessil neck yes Who else not so much What's the what's the british won. The british Jimmy car jimmy car- way. Now you're gonna laugh why had not so much and then there's The other one. There's another kind of guy i'm embarrassed. I can't remember his name. It doesn't matter. They're all good looking right. They're all good looking. They're all well dressed good looking and they get up in there. How many did babies. You know what i mean and you're just like and we go that's okay because he's a babe and not to make you uncomfortable. You have to look that you could get up and be really filthy. But if i do it. It's not the same. You don't wanna wet clammy lithuanian. Being like dead babies like we want you to go that because we go look at this guy. He's all right ahead because he's handsome and he's handicapping himself in what. Actually that's a bad theory. What do you think it is when i go to say one is. Your dog is an anti cart because the dog is fit so good looking dog. Yeah but he's ivan's his madness. I kill babies that's right. Secondly dog is now renamed jesolo. Secondly you've come in. I'm no good liquid. I say. I wish you talk about sex. I talk about sex. i'll get. yeah bono. You talk about sex hilarious. I yeah that's that's interesting. I just mean like the real hardcore guys. I talk about sex. But i mean the real guys that are going to be like and then. She died from alzheimer's as the punchline. And you're like wow but if you're like a real babe for some reason like not for some reason like i don't get it. I'm just saying when a short bespectacled kind of off centered looking man goes onstage. He sort of traditionally speaking Has a different menu than the tall good looking fit guy. Yeah and sometimes the tall good looking fit guy tries to do the self deprecating or the every man. And everyone's like stop it come on you to fit to fit for this. That's a good name for it to to fitful. but it is. Yeah okay but his mom is. The thing is is interesting. we'll we'll freedom mentioned people. You wanna year standard. You're not his. You want to explore all the sides right you wanna be able to say i wanna talk about shit. You might not let me talk about. This guy was very frustrated. He was like this. Is the stuff i've been doing it as wanna talk about the professor guy professor guy right and i i got it. I was it was the show called his ex life. I want to talk about my ex. Life was basically betting that bit of wordplay saw some tickets buttons and seats. He's his ex. It's not a good time no bad. It's not terrible but he couldn't do anything has he. Looked like a prophet and nfl. Said and i wonder if there's a way round it but why i've discovered standup is. I can't tell jokes. people people will accept me. I come right. Jake's really but people were nice have me tell a joke as in one line is a gi. It's true personal really off if i'm going to joe. Let me let me ask your favorite opener. Because you're coming out. And i don't mean to make you uncomfortable but when i told val that you're coming. She started fanning herself like like. I said who sexy the sexy person. I blanked went to bobby brown. You would fatty.

Yeah british people in restaurant you and as an american going to be much louder than anyone else in the very of course we have a quiet so repressed bridge. We don't fucking till we don't express it my shit. We're having outdated angry but quietly angry. I'm angry by the way. I feel like i can pick up on it because i'm because i'm christian. "The restaurants and millie's is not like an empty place. So i'm using. This is one of the ways. I so funny you kill me tv. The word betas at italic. You've made tv. I fall for incredulous. it's true. I it all the time. You know how you wanna get me. That's a set like here's a tad is is the obviously. The locker room is a set. Yeah and i was wrong. Apparently what is richmond place where they work around outside. That's of course that's real. But the outside by the way have watched the whole show twice so is richmond. Richmond is the field now. Richmond is everywhere. But we've been talking about outside. I understand israel in the interior is a fake set. That is exactly a replica of the real. We did that on. Hbo's crashers all the time we we would shoot the pilot and are these apartment was an actual apartment in new york and then it's money. It's cheaper to build a replica of the apartment. Then to pay the people who own that apartment i have to imagine. What is a huge fee. And by the way well-earned have you ever. I'm sure you have many times on a practical location. No matter how much stuff they lay on the floor. Something's going to get dinged or winged. It's just like a crazy way. You can't stop at any point. Jerry seinfeld might show up with a comedian. So let's stop here for a bit. You like comedy planning ahead. We're feel so funny okay. You're on comedians in cars. Yeah i'm and you are stand up. "Could be something definitely down the road. Do you think if you grew up today you would be a different pitcher. I think so. Because there's so much more emphasis on throwing versus pitching. And so. I think i probably would have thrown harder. Just based on the technology that's available now like spin rate like even when i stopped playing in two thousand fourteen. No one was talking about spin rate like that just came up in the last four or five years. So it's it's a different game now. I just maybe if i would have committed to baseball only forever. I would have played in every showcase tournament every college summer league. Yeah maybe but. I'm glad i'm still happy. I played basketball. I regretted not playing. Yeah i think when kids are young and like you said if you don't play multiple sports you get out really easy or sure especially baseball. That's why these kids are getting hurt to these travel kids. They're playing one hundred plus gains a year especially for pitching. There's no way your arm can handle that for and you. Just don't get the athleticism right. Come with other sports like basketball is gonna give you a lot of different athleticism and see the court different. See the feel different side side jumping. You know baseball. You don't get a lot of like as a pitcher like all right. I'm gonna go run. Loosen up. I gotta be kind of in shape but you know what i mean. It's not like basketball shape right and even even like soccer. But i played it as a kid and i think it helped. I think just the mobility and just learning how to cut in like pivot and do something like that. I think the footwork aspect at playing a lot of sports younger definitely helps you athleticism. Yeah there's there's no no doubt about that. So who's coming up next on your podcast let's see. I got the former assistant coach that i had it mambi state. He's the nevada wolfpack. Baseball coach went to the tournament. So i got him coming on One former big leaguer. Who i played actually with the pirates a little bit Chased are now okay. Yeah great his brothers on the braves. He's a catcher. The mets for a little while travis star. No so yeah. I got a couple couple of these guys coming on but yeah i've tried to you know i'm trying to do more of my opinion on the show as well so i'm trying to mix those in also because every week there's something to happen to sports so i i i wanna react to that kind of stuff more often. Oh yeah just like i i try to. I'm like you so you never know where shows gonna go. You never know what podcast is gonna turn into and the more knowledge. You have about different sports. But i can't be. I can't sit there and watch all them. It's like a catch all of them up on my phone like You know soccer. Italy in england. Like you know you catch all that stuff up and then it. The olympics are coming up. So you're trying to stay on top of it all but not have like going into the weeds with it. All right you want to give a general opinion about the big topics but not so much for people. Just get uninterested. Yeah i hear you. I hear you all right so bread television all of our fans how they can find you and and you know maybe your website where they can follow you. Yeah so everything on instagram. It's act too tall. I don't know what's it like for you right now. We've had so much rain every day in the eighties. It sounds crazy. But i mean it. It's it's not like that like we've had a lot of rain. It's been pretty nice where Usually july in pittsburgh is really drying this year's way different levin humidity on the east coast. Sometimes man. u's walk outside. You start sweating fat guys. And we're joined by brett laurence today. Brett were back You know. I just think that we've been talking a lot of baseball. And i know you're a big sports fan with everything And you're probably like me trying to watch as much as possible On tv did you watch the homerun. Derby last night i did watch homerun derby. I think the big hype was shohei. Ohtani ride coming in. And he's the the big draw and he's basically the modern day babe ruth. It's pretty cool to see. Like i never no one ever thinks we'd see that because everyone so against him doing people doing that so it was cool to watch and course field the ball flies so it's a little better there But no it was a fun event. But you think i you know what i liked about. It was that the fans were felt like they were really into it. And i don't know if you saw what they did is that when When the players were up. I think they signed their base falls. So that when they hit them out like the people would catch assigned baseball which was really cool. Really you know. And if baseball is a sport that has to do more things to keep it pumping keep it going to keep the engagement in the hands into it. And i thought caufield was really. It was exciting right. And i think that just making a big deal like like otani just making a big deal out of it. People are pumping up because baseball needs that. We need all those guys to be able to come in there and get the sport to where it needs to be compared to all the other sports and I thought it was great. It was fun to see the fans and everyone involved in it But i i just don't get how they can hit it so far when it's not coming in at ninety five miles an hour. Yeah i think it's just because they're they're like lifting right there like upper cutting their swings and they're trying to and maybe the balls are a little bit different for the homerun derby who they use a little bit. I mean i've i've taken batting practice before and it's not like you can. I mean they're hitting them five hundred some feet. That's and ball's coming in. Like i could see you when it's coming in like five to one hundred like the velocity coming in hitting with the bat like it's going to travel faster out but those guys were crushing it. They're so good at making contact like right on the barrel just goes swings are so good i mean. That's the difference meeting with the pros and the joes right. They're that good. Yeah it was fun to watch. I'm excited and we were talking about otani. I think you know everybody's dream. Wouldn't it be like that you can pitch. You could play field. You can hit. Why do you think that is that more. You being a pitcher. When i ask you why do you think it is. More pitchers can't hit because we don't work on it. You know when you get to the college in the minors. You're really not hitting that often. It's not a priority and plus you know forever. It's just this old stigma that you can't do both no one's pushed to do both at a high level so finally we got a guy that can and hittings hard as you know so. It's itching side. A lotta guys can probably throw hard but not a lot of people can hit like above two fifty in the big league saw right like how can you be great pitching and also be a great major league hitter. I don't see it but also like i said it's been pushed away. You're not supposed to do this until someone does. We think if you're starting pitcher you'd have way more time to practice hitting but then you're not hitting live which is way harder than even the start of your nationally picturing you're only really taking bt maybe the day before you piss just to get a couple of swings in because you're going to get a couple of bats but in the other days you're not hitting bp your shocking off field so you're not working on your crap that's why my favorite ever to watch coming up. That was a pitcher to hit. Was roberto cologne. He's he's kind of you. Know rounder guy comes up. And he i remember i think he hit a home. Run one game and it was hoped place went crazy. Bartolo bar total bartolo cologne. Yeah yeah i can't. He's still playing somewhere. I think in like mexican league or something like that. He's like fifty years old. Well yeah there's some mazing athletes like that you think you know you think. Football is like brady and he's played forever right hockey gordie howe. Yager played forever. You know you guys like that and then if basketball i think it was Vince carter just retired and he played a long long time. Those guys came out of high school plan. I think it's lebrons like sixteenth years. Something and it felt doesn't feel like that and then in baseball i feel like you could play a lot longer in baseball but it still got to be hard like a hundred that many games every year that many you know what's crazy over the last ten to fifteen years like all the older players phased out these teams. Don't wanna pay the thirty five plus guys anymore like. There's not that many older. When i say older it's like thirty five. And above which is not that old but the game has gone so young. Just those old veterans at you remember from the nineties and thousands of just not there anymore. Oh my gosh. My kids. And i collect We cards and then we sell them was by himself and we have a certain collection trying to get. But i. I like vintage car. I like vintage baseball. My dad and i always collect that and so we'll go through cards and my sons will be like. How old is this guy you know. Then he turned back over and there's like twenty eighteen like did he played for like. It's not that way anymore. And you're right. Guys guys could play forever if they could come up and hit. You know you see those guys that play forever but now it's not that way. Yeah the twenty year career. Like the cal ripken's like that just doesn't happen anymore like it's It sucks because you can't really you can't get attached to these guys as much because they're just not there that long so you think it's the money to like. They're not like trying like they made so much money. They don't have to push to like play forever right exactly and i. I don't know what it is. Everyone just got so hyper focused on the young guys in the in the league being younger in. They're coming up earlier. They're getting called up like you put your time in the minors unless your feet on. But now it's like twenty one twenty two of your ready to go and you're up there it you know so. It's a different game now. That is crazy because we felt that way in football as you get older as a veteran right your minimum goes way up. And then they're bringing these young guys who they can get three young guys for one veteran right right and so that was a big difference in football for us and So we try to try to figure that out through the collective bargaining agreement to help the veterans. Because i always think that you need veterans in the locker room to be any good you do and yeah exactly they. Just i think the organizations of i don't know if they've gotten smarter but they're just not willing to pay the legacy contract for these older guys. Were you know. It's all guaranteed football. Cut your ass like baseball can cut you. But they're still paying like bobby vinnie. A million dollars contract in history. Well that's what they're saying on the for the homerun derby repeat alonzo's this kind of he's going to be the next by we've been baena because he's gonna win the homerun derby every year right. Yeah this show up for that and you'll get some exposure and you'll get paid there. You go so you have your your baseball career. At what point did you say okay. I really gotta start figuring out. What my next step is When i was about twenty eight. I think i played my last year. I played triple a. And when i was twenty thirteen. And then i got released and then i decided to play one year of independent ball and i just told myself if i don't get picked up again then i'm don like wasn't going to be a baseball. Lifer dudes at late thirties. Forty years old still played independent ball. I just never saw myself as that guy. I didn't need the game as much. You can't sign yourself. So i had a good year in independent ball and didn't get signed back to the minors so i was ready to move on. So it's definitely a tough transition. I tell him a lot. You spend years building a resume that doesn't really translate to real life. you know. it doesn't help you really other than life experience in dealing with adversity and all those things but it doesn't help you in like selling things or you know we're now no business. No yeah you're not you're learning at craft but you're not learning like for me football. That's what i did football and family. Those are my two things in an. I didn't really think about like when. I was lucky enough to play for fifteen years right but i didn't think about okay. I'm gonna be thirty eight when i'm done. What what am i going to do next. Yeah so like if i want to. I look back on it. If i wanted to be a coach. I should really tried to get to know more coaches or figure that out. Or if i wanted to go into the staff you know go into that part or i should went back in and continued my education. But i didn't do any of that and so when you're done they don't let you back in right you you leave your not going back into the business you gotta figure it so tell me about. You left baseball. What was the feeling you had said. This is what i want to try and do. Yeah i think another thing to your point when you stop like right when you stop playing. You don't wanna coach a lot of guys. Don't because you're you're the same age as the guys you just left and you feel like you're better should be there still so pay doesn't ryan. I'm still. I can still play. You know. everyone thinks that right. So that's that's why. I didn't get into coaching right away. It's just 'cause like i don't wanna be around the game right now if i'm not plane franchising. Yeah right after that. So tell me about it. That process yeah. You know you have to being a franchisee. Yeah yeah you have to go like usually go meet with them at their headquarters once you get like the initial approval then you gotta like interview with them and they gotta trust you that you're going to be follow the rules and do all the franchisee bs and all that stuff and then we get approved and then you. The real estate team comes out and finds a location for you. We'll unfortunately so. I live in orange county which is a great place but the the whole area was taken. So it's all the inland empire which is like forty minutes our east so inland a little bit from the ocean To another city out there. That's they approved me for so you know location means everything is you probably know. And it's just it's hard like saying it's not a dinnertime business so from eleven to three. You got all your money. So it's just tough to have one location and be successful in with bringing a new brand to the area you know it's not like i built in in and out or starbucks which is like gold you know and it's tough now. What was your decision on. On that franchise was at money was it. This is like you met somebody like what. Why why the franchisee you chose. I think i'd heard it was coming to california. And i was in the midwest for some of my career. And if you're close enough to jimmy. John's they would deliver sandwiches to your clubhouse. It was great it was everyone else. Does this like. Oh people are going to love californian. Well little that i now you're competing with not just sandwich. Places subway jersey. Mike's firehouse and all these other places you've got all of lunchtime business to compete with is one of many for lunch. I it's really. it's it the restaurant. business is really hard. Yeah and so you grew up. I would take you grew up really fast in the business world exactly for sure. Yeah yeah. Luckily my dad's a an accountant so he helped me like financially figure things out with the labor costs. Food costs all those things. You really you know they the problem with franchising is. They're so rigid in. You have to do it their way and like you know. They're making a stay open till nine pm will who's buying a cold sandwich for dinner in the on. It just doesn't happen so you're burning through labor and it you learn a lot about how little control you have in that world so you're basically paying for the processes and the vendor contracts you get in. There are some perks to having the name and stuff like that but a lot of it's out of your hands. So how long were you in that business about three and a half years and then we decided to sell and we had the rights to a second location so we package those together and so we got out with no losses which is nice. We broke even those good but creating experience but it was definitely. I'm glad i got out. Was it kind of like buying a boat the first day in the last day or the best days hundred percent. Right it actually. It bothered me that we didn't see a second store through. It was the right. Move to get out but i wanted to see like okay. Maybe the first ones on our best store. Let's see it. The second one is another great store and my goal is five to ten stores. Well you gotta pay franchise fee every time you buy one. And it's just you got to be in three places at once it's really. It's a tough gig. Run a franchise especially like you said. There's a lot of competition now. Yeah you're like it's not like i'm sure there's east coast brands that you grew up with everybody knows what a dunkin donuts for instance out there right. It's everywhere so that's like staple in your community when you bring in a new brand that no one's heard of the first year is just like educating people on what you are and then you can start to build the fan base you know so right are too so then. When did you act. You sell your franchises. You say okay. I'm done and then all of a sudden you get to each again. What do you do next. The last four years. I've been doing solar solar panel sales so residential and commercial solar sails. So i like it it. It makes sense especially out here electricity so expensive so i've been doing that but you know during the pandemic i started the podcast. So that's really what i'm trying to focus on and hopefully turn it into sports media somehow or some kind of podcasting career. Maybe you're broadcasting radio. But that's i think that's really my calling is is what i like to do. Yeah so selling solar panels. Do you go to conferences. Are you the guy in the booth and you got your solar panel there and say all right. I'm the come to your home and put these up. You're gonna money yeah. I spent some time one of the companies. That had a partnership with costco in the early in my career. I was standing costco in the booth and be like hey. Do you want a free consultation. That guy for a little bit it was. It was humbling to say the least. Oh yeah i. I mean i've been there. I've i've helped a companies like we talked about. I was with rc. Twenty-one x i go round and trying to sell that stuff and it's hard to be a salesman when you never did it right. You know what i mean like. You didn't learn how to do any of that. And then you know. People are good at not listening to the word no know. I'm like somebody says no. Okay just move on. You know. I mean you can't do that as a sounds. It's hard and it just like when even when you know it makes sense you really have to get people to believe it also. It's not like i'm still in vacuums like it's a real thing that can help especially out here so it's just getting people to sit down with you laying it all out. How like ridiculous. The electric companies are and how much control they have. Then all it does make sense so just getting to. That would be any type of sales outside. Sales is really and here. It's not like we don't get obviously pittsburghers kind of you know. We get a lot of clouds. But i mean soldiers would work. It's just that we're competing with minors. And you know all these other ways of producing energy and solar is available every day. And they're like oh what if it doesn't the sun doesn't come out late. Well that's why you have battery storage. You know what i mean like and you can actually make money if you have solar and all these things and and but it just crazy like the last. What the last six years or so Taught us political wise of of trying to.

"Was it just the knowledge. What was the difference. Yeah i think once you leave school the of pro bowl is it's baseball all the time to go to class and the right papers anymore. It's all baseball but you went to class and wrote papers. I actually did go to class. Yes especially non scholarship guy. Like you'd better do it. Good class warfare. Video definitely helps a lot. I didn't do it really in high school. Did a little bit in college but not really once you start watching video. Then you're like oh that's what that looks like. You know i can see you are. I'm late right now. Getting the ball out of the globe like you can just see more things and some organizations are more of like all right. We're going with whatever you got. We're not going to really develop you in. Some organizations are so analytically driven. And so on you about you know. Everyone's gonna throw the right way and i hate to say it but the pirates were so Mechanical and like. I like breaking down video but not. Let's just to the point where they're making. Everybody feel the same way it was just a and you can see they don't ask what garrett cole always said right child and over they always said that like all these in their back pocket and they can't win within they let them go and they become better elsewhere if there's a fundamental flaw in the in the pirates system you know so i it's not it does suck for being on the way to put it. I don't know why they. They taught that it was almost like pitch for contact. Like your goals. Like what are you talking about you know and and you know we see him go on a career of really what he should have been at the pirates and probably wanted to stay here because people love the city and It just. I don't know why they taught like that but i think we have a new coach. I think he's a little bit different But that's always interesting to me and on film you know because we've we would watch everything practice. The opponents all of our stuff. Old games old quarterbacks Mean the way you can breakdown. Video now is incredible and is baseball pretty much the same now it is i think so. I got out of the game in two thousand fourteen so a lot has happened since then. With yeah and scouting reports are are different but normally we would go over the scouting report of just like what the guys have done lately know. They call spray. Hr or whatever like in the last ten games or something like that and how to attack guys but in the minors. You don't really get you know. No one's really scouting these other teams to help us out. You know you just kind of show up. Here's an here's what you got. Let's see what happens kind of thing so if you go into a game like that. What cheer first pit Fastball every time or not every time. But i think it depends on. You always have to go with what you do. Well right yeah your strength as they say. Good pitching usually beats good hitting. That's how it goes 'cause hittings heart and you got your guys on defense behind you. So the odds are against the hitter but you definitely can tell like where guys are in the box and if you have a good catcher who's paying attention they'll know like is this guy opening front hip too early. Can we get in there on and we need to go slider here or whatever so you kind of just learn based on where the what the hitter what the swings are telling you so when you get to the big leagues. How many components are there is it just the catcher. Is it you the catcher in the coach looking at all the you know what i mean because you know the hitters coming up. You've studied them. But there's so many games i don't know how remember all this stuff so i actually never pitched in the big leagues. I hits in one big league spring training. So i do have that a little bit of experience but not not a ton i never got to triple eight so right below the big leagues right right. So how does that work. Like even in triple a. I mean there's more coaches there's more understanding. And i always wondered that like 'cause you watch these games and is it is it. The catcher knowing the batter is the picture knowing the batter. Whose responsibility is it more. I think the older you get in the higher levels you get aa aaa the catchers care more. Because it's like their staff so it's almost they take it upon themselves. If you get a good one and usually the older guys have been around enough and they take ownership of learning the hitters and Knowing where to throw guys. And that's the other thing some guys in the minors you move around so much you don't get the same catch all the time so you have to Have great communication with your catcher and say like like. This is what i do. Well you know. Let me know what you think in the boxers. There's nothing worse than you have to like. No no no shake off the. It's the worst. There's no flow. there's no rhythm it's it's good to be on the same page catcher. Yeah oh you you'd have to be right because if you outside you're thinking inside it's gonna be a big difference between a strike out in a home run. There's no doubt about that everyone I want to thank you for listening to huddle up with gus. We're gonna take a quick commercial break and we'll be right back. We're talking with brett lorin from.

"That matter to him he he's he's got it in its infused into his point of view as well now it it comes out in different ways so mine for me is probably early. It has been in the past a little more direct. It's interesting because this now that you say this guy's this'll be fun if anybody's in alaska and wants to come see me. I'm trying to get away. I'm going to try to get away from some of that. I'm gonna try. I feel like this whole pandemic. it's crazy fuckin- thing. Everything has changed. You know in my in my world. I went from working at the comedy store in los angeles Feeling like i was right there. And i loved it i loved it and then all of a sudden pandemic hits everything. Shut down Is california gonna open backup. Joe rogan leaves. He comes out here. He's going to open up a new club. He calls my. My wife is like. Hey you wanna be. Yes we do so. It's like this whole new. Rebirth and i think my favorite comedian of all times george. Carlin what. I loved about. George carlin was. He had that that that you know that societal band. He he was a philosopher. He told you what he thought about the way the world was fucked up. And how you were a part of that. And i love that. Also a had a lot of material that was silly and an inward-looking right and that interests me and i've never gone that direction. So i'm i'm trying to push myself into that area. I feel like because here's the deal. I gotta write a whole new act. Because i don't remember what the fuck was talking about before the pandemic hit so there's no chance in going back to any material i had before so it started overtime. So you know. I've been working on some new stuff. And i'm going to try to drive it into the you know kind of More about the stuff we all share. Personally we'll see what happens Have you been on it since minutes. Six minutes into the. I said i'm gonna go right back to call in trump cox and i would give you credit for less than six minutes because i know myself. You haven't been on state since the lockdown. I have a couple of times. I've done a couple sets here in austin and I did a set. It set san diego before. I laughed and i did the comedy store. A couple of times comedy store opened up a little bit back in the fall when they were trying. Don't we thought we were going to open and then it hit it again. So i did some sets there but it's that was all really weird. You know what i mean. It's i feel like now. It's starting to be a little more like it was people at least here. I'm in austin. I've been going to shows every night. The it's fucking over here whether it is or not they're acting like it's done everything's wide open Yeah there's no nobody's wearing masks inside anymore I'm fascinated. i'm not worried about it. I don't know what your thoughts are on all of this but my feeling is at this point there are vaccines available pretty much. Everybody you can get one if you want one. Go get one. You don't want one. Don't get it i agree. And that's why. That's why. I brought up the political whether it because you are at least on twitter..
