"I i got to say. I thought i knew everything about red hall. I never knew there was some bad blood there with larry flow and maybe mark all the above. I had no idea that. I thought they offered uni said. Ads doesn't work out. Not not at all not at all. I did you stay quiet about that. Have you talked about this now. Just privately with people. I'd soon but i think enough time has passer. Thank the true. Should come out it always. It should come on and we joked about. We went blues. How long did it take you. To debunk the other biff. That you are the guy walking down market street the night before the parade. I never heard that one but it's definitely not true. not well. There was a picture online. You've not heard this. There was a picture of a guy. Let's just say this particular guy. Maybe had a few extra bud lights any. He's walking down market street. Kinda where the old mike shannon's was rack. You'd literally in the middle of the road and people take a photo. they said. Holy shit redskin ready for the parade And it looked close but if there's no way it was but he looked damn close to you. I can't believe you haven't been told this. No that's funny but it definitely wasn't me it was i walk. I walk in anywhere. I'm getting. I'm heading awry. Olympia let me ask you this. What when teams win. And you did it. Carl hart is it in the years. After that i think the blues are sort of dealing with that now because especially here. We talked about it forever. They do it in. It's like okay now that was it. It was unbelievable waited fifty years. Now what is there sort of a natural. Is it a low the years after no i just you know like i said it takes such incredible mounts of of luck and timing and and players having Unbelievable career years or unbelievable playoff runs to win the cup and to all the sudden. Put that all back together again. In another year is very tough. And that's what's now and then you know. Sometimes you build a team that has that one chance to win a cup with contracts. And i'm not sure that's how it was. But you got people that retire you've got Contracts on free agents that leave and you know. The chemistry goes out of the out of the balloon for lying or whatnot. And all of a sudden. You're just not quite the same team you were and and that's why you rarely see teams anymore except for obviously tampa who put together a very young team..

"We went blues the Great Brett Hull bringing this back? And let's talk about a former blue former teammate. And just kind of pick them at random but I I wanted to get your thought on Gary Younger who was a great blue great goalscorer. I didn't realize four hundred thirteen career goals and known for the iron man streak playing in nine fourteen. He was sort sort of towards the end of his career. While you got here but you were you were together for a couple of years. Give me your blink. When I say the name Gary Younger you could not lift his stick? He was so strong on stick when he wanted to score a goal Good luck if you ever gonNA lift his stake because I mean he his mindset was was was was so sold hold on scored goals all the time that I've never seen anybody play that way and for nine fourteen in a row and I think it was a coach's decision eventually later where they said him in this league. As you know that that's tough to do it really is and I'm he played hurt a mean he again was one of those guys that There were nights that that he wasn't hundred percent but he just felt that he was better than than a lot of the guys there at fifty percent. Then if someone else would have been at one hundred percent so He played hard and yeah. It was a coach decision. In in fact it was a it was for the Atlanta flames. That he was playing after got traded from us and it was actually against us that he actually broke that Ironman Streak Rica here in our own building when when they didn't play him that one night here in Saint. Louis I didn't realize it actually happened in Saint Louis and from the NHL headlines recent development. Mike Babcock out in Toronto. It tells me the leafs such a legendary franchise they haven't won since nineteen sixty seven. How about around the league former players guys? Who grew up in Canada? Is it stunning when you think about how. Toronto that great franchise hasn't been able to break through yet again. Well it's just a hard thing to do Martin. I think we saw it with the blues. Took let me talk to lose fifty one years I mean the blues. Were the only team that was was was was less than the Toronto Maple leaves because the leaves won the Cup and sixty seven before the blues came in so It's it's hard. It's very difficult and yeah. I mean being when you consider that it's the Mecca of hockey in Toronto. It is really kind of mind boggling That the leaves have not WanNa Cup. I mean I think it's harder harder nowadays in the CAP era To try to win the Cup but you know they've got a really good club so They felt that they had to be coaching change. They spend a lot of money on that franchise. I mean they spend a lot of money on babcock so I get in the that experiment is over and I guess they're going to try to go with the younger coach and and try to put everything together. But we've always we said this is the hardest trophy in the League to win. And sometimes you it's. It's the players falls and sometimes they believe it's. The coach is also whatever happens in Toronto. I'm glad we've already got a couple here in Saint Louis. What's a realistic expectation for? A guy like Troy Brouwer who comes in hadn't been playing for a while with skating a ton but knows the organization knows. Oh some of the guys I guess. So that's a little bit more of a natural transition what do you what do you think he can bring to the table. I think he just brings veteran leadership He's the guy he's a good guy in the locker room. He's as he's a really solid player on the ice Is Not going to back down from everybody and I think with Blues. Losing a guy like edmunds and I think you need a little more size and strengthen lineup the blues has got some some young you know light wingers and all of a sudden now you bring in a guy. That's that's been around a long time that's over two hundred ten pounds and Is Very experienced. He can score and he's still proved that he can score twelve goals last year in Florida. So I think this is a really kind of almost an insurance policy If anybody else goes down you need to have those veteran guys and and certainly Troy A good guy and he fills that role very well and once he saw the visa issues cleared to play to solve the number issue. He was debating what number to wear. Ended ended up back with his thirty-six which he wore in Saint. Louis superstitious about A. You're twenty four f forgetting it when you went to Detroit. Did You keep the twenty four and I went to forty two appropriate head. Twenty four jail but He was going to get out of jail eventually and I did not want to have his number because I knew when he got wouldn't look good if I was wearing his number so I waited with forty two. How great is that store? You haven't he was in jail at do they even say if you want Bernie you could. You could take until he gets back. No I'm good. I'm good well. You actually they. They they offered me to see you. You know because they weren't sure what what Bob Status of it I mean they mentioned and I said forget that right from the start. So it'd be the last thing that I would want to do with probably around would've and that would mean totally foolish that has to be a career. I say your number's available. But it's only because the other guy is twenty four all along as a kid all the way up. No no I wore. I wore fifteen in junior With the blades. And when I came I mean we didn't really get to request what numbers that we wore for Blue I in fact when I first got called up the first time we got called up Just before Christmas of seventy six I actually wore number fourteen For a couple boy games but I played and then when I came back the second time I got twenty four and that's the one I wore so yeah so yeah but I would love to have fifty but Floyd Thompson was wearing fifteen and I wasn't GonNa make request any any sweater. They gave me with any number on. It was gonna be fine with me and I think we've established you're not unlike a lot of hockey guys. You're not real superstitious superstitious. You don't worry about a lot of weird stuff that some of the guys do. No no I mean there were certain things I did. I mean but it was mostly because of the comfort of my writes. Kate was always. I felt got looser quicker so I always tied. It lasts but it was more of a of a comfort Other than a superstitious Bernie. Great to talk with you have a great Thanksgiving living in. "The playoffs as the puck is got to be quickly moved and and for the most part of this team they kind of onto the puck too long tried to set up place without the picture I mean they've played what twelve games now and I think the only power play goals and maybe five of them but they've got three and two in multiple you know power to get it maybe just the adrenaline and just excitement of winning a Stanley Cup of me day was always always been one of those guys that even when he came the first time I mean he was young he was nineteen and but he was still I think very immature I mean he wanted to be out there on the ice more than anywhere else I mean you know even the skating party at Christmas he he was with the little kids playing hockey he just loved to play hockey so he's always liked to play hockey but I think he's matured much more as a player now he's become that type we'll play that now is not the follower he wants to be the leader on the hockey club he should be at the age that he's at right now but he's getting as good as I've ever seen him skate I mean he's protecting the Puckett I think maybe the game the way the game has evolved now maybe suits his game more I mean he's one of those guys that likes to get involved he likes to you know you know show up a little late sometimes and you can get away with that in the game now so I think that You know what he did yesterday I mean him and Ryan Rally got that really you know Missile Chemistry together now and when he's out there yeah you expect something good is going to happen right now so I hope that he continues because I think he's in a situation there he may become an all star of the way he's playing this year I know they like to mix lines up occasionally shake things up but I don't think we're going to seal Riley and Peron broken up those two clearly on the same page tell me about Rhino Rally we saw the four point game on Sunday but the player they got from Buffalo and you probably saw more when he was in Colorado but what did you know about it this game before he got here because I think I don't think the fan base knew how complete a player he was well I don't think any of us did Martin I knew we we we all were told about type of the game that he played and and that he was a good two way player and that he can certainly contributed offensively and and I think the more I watch him I mean last year was unbelievable I mean both ends of the ice I mean he's there's no one that deserves the Selke more than he did because not only is out there on the ice checking the top forwards on the other teams but he takes most of the faceoffs he does those little things stealing POPs stripping guys from the puck without taking penalties and that's the amazing thing that he can who is he does that without taking panels usually when you're so involved in the playoffs you're gonNA take some penalties here and there and he very rarely takes penalty but I mean I can't say that good things about him I have never seen a guy that spends more time in practice doing little things he's got little drills that he practices and I think that's something that really carries down to the younger guys when you see regale they're doing little things the other guys want to copy and they wanna follow what he's what he's doing but he's amazing both ends of the ice and I think you know his his start has been quite Hello I'm so glad that he was able to get involved in the offense you know yesterday I mean here's a guy that you know he's only scored one goal coming into the game Detroit and that was an empty also I think that you can see Kinda why his body language that he was so relieved when that first one went in yesterday and then of course he gets the big one to Taiwan too tight late in the game game but he is really is he's as good a two way player as I've seen in the league and longtime goes out it really changes the dynamic not just the obvious him as a goal scorer but because other teams maybe mark him or game plan for him and because they don't have to account for that it it makes a little tougher on everybody else he SORTA taking up the other teams they're sort of preoccupied with him in a sense yeah he's a Game-breaker meeting here he's a guy that can really do nothing for three quarters of the game or for fifty five minutes of the game then scored two goals late because he's got that dynamic shots so when you don't have a game-breaker out there yeah the the other team certainly relaxed much more so it just does change the dynamics of the team but I think when you look at it when you missing quality guy like that someone has to step up in step up more so other guys are getting opportunities right now I mean I think Rob Rob Thomas is going to get more of an opportunity to play more but I mean there's no question you know this is still some one timer some quick thoughts with the Blues Famer since nineteen sixty serving the families of Saint "Shocking news for the fan base I know he's dealt with this in the past but what was your immediate reaction when you heard the news well I was real surprised because I know that he had shoulder surgery on the couple of years ago I remember getting hurt in Colorado at the last game of the year goes at MC the playoffs that he did have surgery over the course of the summer and I think when he came back everybody thought shoulder's going to be fine so it's my first reaction was wow it's the same shoulder so I don't know if it's the same thing that happened or whatever it is but that's not good news and certainly GonNa Miss he's out for five months is that what they're saying or going to be reevaluated in five months which tells you that maybe there's a possibility he'll be back for the playoffs but that's pretty serious injury who's going to be out that long what do you think happens on that top line you think it's a rotation guys do you think brubaker sort of auditions whoever plays Schwartz and Shannon is going to be in a pretty good system relation do you see that being a combo players yeah I think so right now until he finds the right combination because you need to have a score there Robert Thomas is going to be guy or being they've got you know Jordan Kiro that's going to be healthy and a little bit you know down the miners as well too and he is a prominent scores while he's writing shot so I think that's another possibility but I mean we've seen the depth of this hockey club and you can't replace a chair Cinco music scores over thirty goals every year but you gotta have to find somebody that even if it's tourist three different guys until you find the right combination or if you keep mixing and changing you gotta find something that's GonNa work but it's it is a blow to the blues obviously if your army or Ba- ruby dee it'd have to are also guard against the team not getting into the tank here because obviously they're they're going to be disappointed do yeah I don't think I think the guys understand that you'll lose a guy but it'd happened through the course of the year or two to every team so you just have to kind of you know go through it get through it and and have somebody step up it's always a an opportunity for somebody else so martins maybe get a chance to get a lot more ASEM and they become a score of some that we didn't know that could be a score might be able to do that so I I think that that's just the situation they're in right now and there are certainly not gonna take it and accept what is gonNA everybody's just GonNa have to give a little more and try little harder is there such a thing as a good loss because we we say gosh that would have been a really bad laws that was about to be a brutal loss is there anything but a bad loss is there I mean we we talk about ugly wins but can you have it a good loss no I don't think so if you're not getting points that's not good at all but I mean you can actually play well and lose games that's not good but I think coaches don't mind that if if you're doing the right things and you're playing well and somebody just beats you mean sometimes you're just not the best team out there and I guess that is considered a okay Awesome you lose that way but I don't think in the business of professional sports at least if you lose you're not doing your job and no one wants to lose but some are more brutal than others correct till Sunday in Detroit a team that is down and out they'd lost seven in a row coming in red wings are struggling blew up Tuesday then the blues are up three one heading the third is it fair to say that would have been a bad loss in other words not all losses are equal rights that Martin in fact of the matter is is that when you've got to go elite against the team as you said it's struggling immensely I mean Detroit is as a young team obviously they're gonNA continue to get better as they mature a little more but no it was not pretty at all in fact for the most part in the third period especially the blues really got outplayed and I thought Bennington was was very good in the game in fact he made a bunch of good saves at the proper time so yes if they lost that game even if they would've just got one point I think it would have been a miserable way to lose an extra point but the fact that they got the two points I think you look back and say you don't want to have another game like that gets the team like Detroit but that's over at the past and you just pay wins a win and they did get the win how does a guy like Craig Ruby handle it though will he go back are there quote on quote teachable moments there because I'm sure it wasn't real happy with the way it was sort of unraveling all at once how does he I'm sure they won but how will he handle that moving forward yeah I mean he's obviously not be happy with the way they played I mean I think he said it to on his press conference after the game last night is that hey you know what there was a lot of emotion that was expounded in in Boston you know you're playing you're going back to that building for the first time after winning the Cup a lot of fun memories there and I think the entity in that game on Saturday was much higher than all of a sudden you go to Detroit you don't get into late at night you don't have a morning skate you kind of maybe you weren't prepared as well as you should have been for a team like Detroit and it almost cost them but I mean I think again it's this is a pretty mature team and I think Craig knows that he's he knows that these guys have been there before there's a lot of good leaders in the locker room so he'll probably address it very briefly but I think if this becomes a habit then obviously he's going to have to do something about it but I think those games were you say hey we got the two points let's not worry about it let's try to learn from our mistakes that we made but I don't think he's going to dwell up he I that's what I like about greg the most autumn is that he always stays positive I mean no matter how good or bad things are going he never gets to extreme either way and he always seems to be a positive thing out of any negatives that could happen and it's interesting you say that because if people just look at him or listen to them he's not we're not talking to Mr Rogers we're not talking about a guy who's having balloon parties they'll tell you if you see doc but he doesn't dwell on things I think that's you know he's not he's not this big smile a hey guys everything's great if things are bad he'll tell you that but I think the key is it just doesn't dwell on it now and I think that's why the guys like to play for Martin's because when you when you've got a coach at dwells on things over and over repetitious and I think you Kinda get tired of the gets old on you and I think he's pretty brief of what he has to say if he doesn't like anything he's GonNA mention it real quickly and he's going to move on and I think after yesterday's game I mean hey they came away from the road trip with two points you know you don't have to play Detroit until late March now again you've got other things to move forward to them they've got a lot of you know big games coming up as well I mean that's the thing about I mean hockey at eighty two game baseball has got one hundred sixty two games that said it's even worse than you can move on you have to you know you can't dwell on anything just move on long but still with with the schedule of eighty two games hey you're going to have some peaks and valleys and I think you just have to go beyond that and I think that's why Craig does such a good job with his team is that you know he doesn't well anything for for any longer than he has to I don't think the schedule maker did the blues any favors in it it doesn't really matter but the Toronto happening early in the year sort of opened the door for a visit with the cup and the champions were there which is great it was really cool but then you have the Boston return early in the seasons everybody says oh boy voice that's the side of the game seven in the whole Hoopla routine just keeps happening from the White House to the hall of fame into Boston do we think now maybe that's all of these stops that have happened now we can kinda stopped doing the reunion tours and all of the celebrations I'm sure the guys have moved on the stand hey it's been a great it's a great run I mean the summer was fantastic all these extra things that have happened with the White House as you mentioned going hall of fame all those things yeah those things are over and and and I think that maybe after the Boston game and and really I think the guys handle that even the Boston players hey it's just a two point game now it's a regular season game and maybe we got some memories that we want to get rid of and Boston winning the game but they didn't get the cutback by winning the game on Saturday I mean it's just two points they got to lose nothing and you know you don't worry about what's going on now until the next playoff so I think everybody has to move on and I was just from talking to the guys and they're still on obviously you'll never get over winning Stanley Cup but they understand that their jobs are are to move forward their jobs are to get the job down now so they can be back in the playoffs next year so I think you can get another crack at winning the Cup so I think that's what the focus is all on now looking at some numbers the blues in terms of power play goals only five teams right now have more power play goal it's been sort of a running fem- I think Doug Armstrong said yeah we're tired of guys asking about it but it's our fault it's sort of been an issue Marc Savard was brought here to work on that he's a friend of rubies played in the League wh what do you think has changed in terms of the success now with the man advantage well they're moving the puck a lot quicker and I think that was one thing that they talked about you through last year going through A- any body motion guest and now that the guys are moving quicker the puck movie quicker I think that there are open lanes a little more you know yesterday was a couple of great asses lanes removable opened up because the Puck was moved so quickly but I mean the whole thing is Martin right now I mean they got two goals power play goals yesterday at three in in another game so when you look at the souls you're GonNa Win Games because of it so it's it's still working progress but I like what I'm seeing now I like the movement I think they're trying you know experimenting with new Players do things getting involved I mean we're yesterday when they really needed it badly they were able to score on the first one and they scored in the last one and that's when your power plays really good when you know that the chips are down and you need a goal right down if you're probably GONNA go get you when I think that's the most important thing for a power play I think a lot of folks had the same reaction a summer ago when Doug Aren't John was adding players and making deals one of them coming back with David Perron I think most people said that's it I mean he was here before twice before but now he seemed like it different player you look for him to score maybe to have a big moment what's been different about him and isn't it fascinating run that he's had here where the career was almost undone biking Russians and then he goes to Vegas and becomes kind of a key contributor and are we surprised should we be surprised at how good he's been the last year and a half that's a really good question mark don't know how to answer that question but I will say this David's playing the best thing I've ever seen him play so I I don't know if it was the concussion problem that he's had from before or if it's just the new life that he able.

"The nineteen ninety five World Series MVP and also has over three hundred wins on his resume and that's Tom Glavin who's kind enough to give us a few minutes right now on CBS sports radio Tom can't thank you enough always appreciate your time and how are you I'm doing well how are you doing well I'm doing great Tom and always do enjoy chatting with you I was actually thinking about yeah over the weekend because I saw your face on television during the hall of fame induction ceremony and for some reason it triggered an old conversation we had about you being drafted into sports baseball clearly being one of them then the other one for those that don't know was hockey is Thomas draft in the NHL draft I was actually selected before Brett hull and Luc Robitaille high I it made me wonder Tom if Tom Glavin elected to back in the day cocky over baseball but would you have been a hockey hall of Famer what are you guys aren't I got drafted ahead of them so obviously yes I would have been I have no idea of who knows you know I mean I mean I'll try a little bit better hockey player coming out of high school that I was baseball good good I'll go to the more policy rocky player baseball as a picture I was very raw but you know I I I think baseball for a reason I thought being a lefty I had an advantage in baseball that I didn't have an hockey so you know obviously I made the right choice but I don't know what kind of hockey player would have been I mean I'm sure I would have been the best I could have been occurs in our work hard at it but what that would have been who knows what was that moment Tom that it quick for you and you said yep yeah I really did make the right decision selecting baseball you know good question I mean I guess to some extent you're one of the great they wish I guess some validation so to speak that I made the right decision you know then once you get there you got to stay there so you know I guess maybe a few years later when I had a couple good years ultimately ultimately signed my first a long term deal and and now you have kind of that financial security that was probably the the biggest moment what I thought okay it you know I made the right decision I'm pretty much set up for life and you know that that certainly would have been a struggle in those days and hockey because in those days guys got you are right and that kind of money so and I guess that at that point yeah once they once I kind of stab with myself successfully so to speak in baseball and then started making money at it probably solidified it a little bit more talking to the baseball hall of Famer Tom Glavin right now on CBS sports radio Zak yelled in for a law hi Tom let's discuss this past hall of fame class that was inducted it over the weekend we started off with the late great Roy doc Holliday his wife brandy delivered an incredible speech and it was truly amazing how she was able to keep it together on the stage in front of all those people especially under those circumstances I couldn't even imagine giving that speech and clearly we all wish that Roy was not there giving the speech but what brandy was able to say about Roy her late great husband was really special and was a really cool to watch yeah well I think that the big takeaway is how impressive you want in terms of the alcohol everything together and just you know from the moment my wife and I met her on Thursday night she just was very composed and and you know that was just remarkable to me and and you know to see her you know what the weekend the way that she did ultimately give a great speech and and certainly are Roy you know it was just very impressive certainly something that I don't think any of us will ever forget and and you know like you say certainly very honored to be a part of it although we obviously with Lori was the one giving a speech are you know brandy certainly handle that unbelievably well represented role in in her and their family extremely well and just did an unbelievable job giving someone Tom that knows what it takes to be a hall of fame pitcher what stands out to you about the pictures from this class that were inducted over the weekend from role eight Mike was seen Lee Smith and then marry on a Rivera who was voted unanimously you know what makes you want to Rome wars dominance in their own way and I think each one of them the the the same thing you don't have the same attitudes you'll hear that will describe that those guys you know they were hard working they were determined they were competitors you know they're a kind of guys that you wanted to have the ball when the game was on the line you know gamers I mean although the Coventry with all those guys you know certainly with would really like being starters you know those are the kind of guys that it began the season is on the line your comfortable handed the ball to those two guys you know you know what kind of effort you gonna get out of them you know you're more times and are you gonna get a chance to win a ballgame and you know their competitiveness in the same is true on the back in with Lee and Mariana there's never there's never an automatic in the game I mean there's always the possibility that there's any closer is young but they're both state but it up with those two guys you know yours closed automatic when they were at their prime if you're going to get in and and you know same thing when they took the mound there was an error of of confidence and competitiveness about them it's kind of a a deflation so to speak in the other dog out knowing that Hey you want to get to the ninth inning and have a lead and not have to face those guys when they're coming in in the ninth inning you know you haven't done your job in order to win the game we'll talk hi score up with us to sell I'm a locker they all deserve to be there you know I think and certainty in in like in res Lee's case probably a little bit overdue I think that I should then there sooner but they're they're not election they all deserve to be there I'll ask you the same thing for the haters Tom Edgar Martinez he got the call to the hall and I said Harold Baines that was definitely a controversial selection a big give me a your thoughts on those two who could now call themselves hall of Famers what I think both those guys back there you know just just you know if you see anybody ask you to describe what they were about having ninety percent are trying in here they're just pure hitters I mean you know there were two guys that when the game is on the better option you know what I think and and and Harold K. something has to be so you think we could numbers on and take it all right inside your numbers well I think you see him in a lot of the all time categories and he deserves to be there again and get your case thank thing I mean if you're arguably people will tell you he had the you know the prettiest purists weighing out of any right hander that's ever played the game so you know he could head and again I think the testament to both of those guys that did it for a long time and for a long time they were not the guy the benefit you're wanted to see in the batter's box or opposing manager wanted to see the batter's box when the games on the line so you know when you're that kind of player you're obviously doing some great things and here are the result of that they they both on their way to help me looking back at your career and if you had to give me three headers that got into the batter's box and made you feel a little bit uneasy when you're on the mound who would those three yeah hitters bay or American pretty much all the time was Tony Gwynn on you know it and at any given time very obviously if if you swing in about well cool so I won't use we're gonna well you know the option when he was hot certainly not a guy you would want to see in there so I mean those those four guys probably would jump out at me I think Tony would be at the top of the list you simply because he never seem to have too many ads inflows he pretty consistent three thirty every year and it was just the kind of guy that you know the game is on the line you're going to have to get him out he wasn't again self out and that was never an easy thing to do because you know trying to trying to execute three or four quality pitches on Tony without making a mistake in order to get a model is what's happening is and and when you made that mistake you make you pay for since you mention Barry Bonds you know he is always discuss when the hall of fame comes up and it's either you want to see him get in or you don't me personally I would put the steroid guys then because weather was Barry Bonds Roger Clemens and there's different degrees Sammy Sosa mark McGwire I get that they were all wearing clean and always many people but when I saw them play and I was growing up I loved that error of baseball I still saw a great results on the field and for me I can't exclude greatness from the hall of fame natural or not so where do you stand on the steroid guys aluminum it's a horror it's a hard topic right I mean I think in a base station always public berries you look at very on and and if you want to draw a line in the sand his career started at the Loews home once you started doing something okay fine but that portion leading up to that was helping for the and he was the first guy in our generation you know informed homers for under stolen bases and and all that stuff so I mean he yeah I think he's a little bit different in that regard as it becomes a little bit better because if you know assuming that we're doing some things and it's hard to tell what kind of player they would have been had they not been doing and you know I think for the for the purity of the game you'd you know you'd like to see thank the guy for the hall of Famer guys that they did it the right way and and didn't do any of that stuff so I think it's going to continue to be you know an interesting argument moving forward no I know I know a lot of the all time guys have a much stronger feeling about it you know probably than those of us that play in that generation not that we condone it it's just it's always been there had to deal with and and you know just kind of went about our business in spite of it okay you know it's a much much more of a thorn in their side you know because I think in their in their eyes and right numbers were skewed because of that well you know I I certainly would like to believe that we protect the sanctity of the hall of fame and and you know that kind of thing but I don't think it is going to become more more of a of a of a point of debate I think as time goes on does he ever though that you played in and we know you have many great memories and many great moments but but does that era looking back at it I know what you or leave a little bit of a bitter taste in your mouth because of the fact that so many players that you were competing against were in fact cheating you know I don't probably I mean yes and no I mean does it because if you look back at it and say well you know the fact that that was going on sure but you know after that then what you don't eat you sit there and say well you're in luck games with guys were doing on the I don't know that I don't know the you can quantify how differently you're gone whom had that not been a you were dealing with it certainly better drop harder I understand all that but you know for me in my case okay I spent a long time because you know I had a good career and ended up in the hall of fame and and you know I don't know that my number is being a little bit better all had cheated what really made all that much of a difference so you know I I think again our minds that was we knew all along moon on mom but really there wasn't anything we could do other than try to continue to get guys out and try to get you to win games so I think that was our minds that was there if the fact you gotta feel that okay soul just like and not how if they had it occurred to get guys out well we focus on really we're talking to Tom Glavin right now the hall of fame pitcher on CBS sports radio on Tom's gonna stick around with us for another segment we're up against a break so Tom gonna put you on a brief hold hang tight with us through the break is when we get back we will move off of the hall of fame conversation all the great stuff that was happening this past weekend in Cooperstown we have to get to one of your former teams in the Atlanta Braves who look like they're going to win the at least then we'll get a lot of your second have.

"Stories, it's a lifestyle magazine focusing on sports and entertainment, health and fitness, fashion and style, all with local Ottawa, vibe features in the June issue include Ottawa Senators past and present like Thomas, bought, and Brian McGrath checkout faces MAG dot CA. Okay. This one made me smirk a little bit. I gotta say, Brad hall was not the drunk guy at the Saint Louis blues parade. And Gloria, you know, I kept thinking glory, we're gonna sing that was the. No, no. It was Gloria lower. You're always on the run. Now is that the song that, that, that went viral that one? Yeah. Yeah. Laura Brannigan from the nineteen eighties. And it went viral because a number of the blues players, I think ended up. Sometime this season. They ended up in a bar where some team had won a championship men's league team or something. And that was, I guess some drunk at the bar we kept saying, just randomly every half hour or so. Gloria again. And then somebody would fired up on the jukebox off everybody start jumping around again. I guess a number of the blue that was Larry's and became the theme bread holes my hero bet, I can't get enough of that, watching that video I want to get him as a GM. That's why I want. No, yeah. But Brett hall was not the drunk guy all all. Yeah. So. And this is a tale from deadspin, I'm going to read it verbatim because it's really well written the twenty nineteen Stanley Cup champion Saint Louis blues how their victory parade Saturday celebrating the franchises, first ever title as is usually the case with victory parades, this event featured blissed out sportsmen consuming, inadvisable, quantities of alcohol, some handle, it better than others. Like Brett Hull invented a puzzling chatted coughed up a horrendous rendition of Gloria but twenty four year old Ford. Zach Sanford, well, he out did everybody in the car that he is being driven around in for the parade. He all of a sudden out of nowhere and keep them on this convertible, and the streets are lined with blues fans and he's in the backseat kind of sitting on the ragtop with somebody else, and he basically just immediately pukes all over himself. And from the looks of it all over the people in the front seat as well. That's got to be embarrassing. Put his hand. He kind of put his hand to his mouth, and it was one of those deals where it's like. Oh, no. Is this? Oh, no. Oh, it's coming cat. I don't want people to see this kids watching all. No. I think it's all gone. Zastava. I forgot about this Steve as my final thought. Okay. My final thought I hope the poor guy. He probably had the flu Steve probably wasn't drunk approaches at a bad case in the stomach flu that can happen when you win a championship. I was at a golf event, and we're all sitting around the table Brett hall was there and this is this is in calling that Gretzky web com thing he did. And I- Brett Hull comes and sits down at the table beside me, Jimmy boy, how's it going? You know, I know him we're buddies, and I'm good. And you had a new shirt you bought this new shirt from the pro shop. And you've been around me Steve, we worked together for many years in the studio, and you're one of the guys when you saw me my face start to scrunch up, knowing I was about to sneeze. Yeah. Okay. You, you, you left the room? Jerome's going to sneeze here. It was so loud that the morning show doing the TV show downstairs. I was sneezing at the lunch counter their, their studios whip the front, they could hear me sneezing. They they go sounds like a lawn chair folding up for something old rusty launcher anyway. I ended up speaking puking, I ended up whipping, I couldn't get out, Steve. I got a sneeze. I gotta sneeze and get out of my way, and I ended up sneezing all over the brand new golf shirt of Brett Hull, you know. And I thought he's gonna kill me he's going to murder me. He's going to buy me, a new shirt or something like that. And he just is. So it was like flat all over the over the front. Well, people listen to the show regularly occasionally hear you laugh abruptly, and all of a sudden they hear the emergence of the lung butter, so one can only imagine when you sneeze what comes out so anyway, I did this. And I thought he's going to kill me or something like that. And he just looked at me with this stupid ass grin, and he said you're the best Jimmy. You're absolutely. I totally picture that just just put his arm around. We do. Give me a hug. You're the best. So. What a great reaction. That's great. All.

"Brian Windhorst is gonna join us in a moment, but first they happy, seventy seventh birthday to Paul McCartney and happy birthday to him. I don't care. Good luck. Roy, did you go home yesterday? Singing the Brett whole hit. Yes, I did you did. Did you sing it to your daughter, and your wife, the one lyric that we played over and over yesterday? Yes, I did have you gotten rid of it from outside of your head. Have you have you a radical? But it yet or is it still there? It's still there. Gotcha. All right. So let's see if we can get Windhorst window or so. I've got some questions about the song glory of first of all, does this hold up as as sung by Brett Hull. I got your. Yeah. I think that should be your new insurance this show every day. Let's talk some basketball with Brian Windhorst. I don't want to just talk about the LeBron stuff. Are we taking player empowerment, a little too far when Kyrie Irving is ghosting the Celtics? No, listen. I mean, look, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in nineteen seventy four, I think it was went to Milwaukee and said, I got nothing against you. Find people Milwaukee, I just don't wanna be here anymore and, you know, different time but he got what he wanted. It took him a lot longer than it takes to get traded now, but it's really been going on, since that in various ways, and Dan has somebody who fits in this category. You know, this is anybody a contract is over when the talent says it's over and that's difficult for a lot of people to take into consideration. But Anthony Davis wanted to be in Los Angeles, and come hell or high water. He was determined to get there. And if that's what a player wants, they're so talented. And so they have so much power that they're all gonna get what they want. What would be your draft rankings? If I gave you the whole league everybody, I'm giving you joke edge. I'm giving. You know why I'm giving you any player under twenty seven years old. In what order does Brian wind horse. You can hear him on the hoop collective podcast. He's got new episodes, every Monday and Thursday, you can listen on the ESPN app or apple podcasts, podcasts..

"We don't even know if they're in the middle of the parade, and we don't know if he's going back or not, like, we don't know anything about correct anything so to presume that he wouldn't wanna be. I just wouldn't presume anything about it. I really wouldn't agree with you on that, Dan. And I think that's actually refreshing that what we know about him is what we see on the court and what matters with co is is game. I actually liked that. But can we guess because if we don't guess then we're just sitting here saying, we don't know. I mean, you know, right no, I guess I did. Guess my guess is he won't go to the. The Lakers that he'll either stay in Toronto or go to the clippers now between those two my guess would be he'll go to the clippers just but again it's all on. Second hand information about people saying how badly he wants to get to southern California. I mean he's never said anything. So if I if you want me to guests do God's I'm saying, he goes, the clippers I love guesses. I'm gonna write down, my guess at a little piece of paper. Seal it up in an envelope. Put it in a mystery. You open it up, and you tell everyone what happened. Okay. Yeah. Now that's because you'll have how many envelopes speak. There's thirty teams in the league. So. You know, with thirty envelopes, you'll probably be able to get it right. To got to got says weekend observations around the corner here. Jalen rose is around the corner as well. Money. Mony Mony Mony. And when I say around the corner, because I have no idea. Idea when those things are going to actually be ready. It. "So we are a Miami program proudly Miami. Our birthplace are epicenter are flavor is Miami, and Mark Stein dared this weekend to say the thing now, Mark Stein has been a friend of the show, pop culture, literate friend of the show for a long time, but he dared to say dared to say, and I'll be curious, what standing Gundy's thoughts on this, are that LeBron James has just been paired with his best teammate ever in Anthony Davis. And if you ask me, who do, I want more? I have a hard time saying Anthony Davis having already seen Wade's last ten years. But Anthony Davis is next ten years, or probably going to be something that feels all-time great. So when Mark Stein says that STAN Van Gundy, you say, what the Miami in to say, hey, you forgot about Dwayne. Wade. Don't put Anthony Davis in their LeBron's best teammate was Dwayne weight. Yeah. I you know, I'm biased toward Dwayne for share. So I would say Dwayne. You know, but Anthony Davis is going to be special in both Ye enjoying are going to be all time great. So, you know, LeBron is certainly back in the business of having a another star true star, one of the elite players, you make them the favorites. Like how good are they right now? Even without additions just with roster holes due to the Lakers, become the favourite by virtue of you put those two guys together, and that's that's contender. Good. Yeah, it's contender. Good. I agree with that. I mean, it's just hard to say who the favorites are going to be, when we don't know what's going to happen with the rest of free agency, not just with them. And what their roster is gonna look like, but where's quiet gonna end up? And, you know, we're all these roster's going to be I don't know, who is the big one. I mean, if he stays in Toronto where you're gonna make the Lakers the favorite over the raptors. I don't know about that. I mean. It's just hard to figure out right now, but they're certainly the Lakers are certainly good enough to contend with those two guys leading the way if you look out, west though, and that's a good point about Kawai in the east. And does he stay in Toronto? But out west when you consider that Durant's out for season Klay Thompson is gonna miss probably half a season. Maybe more you would have to say the Lakers, or at least at the very least right now the favorite to the west right. Well, unless let's say why goes to the clippers with another star with Kimber kyri your whoever, you know. That's what I'm saying until it's done until we get through free agency. It's hard. But, but yes, you would think that the Lakers will be able to do enough putting together the rest of the roster that no matter what else happens. That they should be able to at least be right there to win the west. Yes, does appear to be a guy that would want to join team like that because it seems like to me is a guy like, hey, you put together your super team. I'll go somewhere else and I'll beat you by myself. I'd be shocked if I went to the Lakers, I, I would think the more logical place for him if he's going to move would be to the clippers. I do not. See Kawai joining LeBron. Anthony Dale mate helped me understand something here, though, because I, I don't feel comfortable speaking for Kawai on any subject or predicting who is or what he's going to decide. Why are we assuming that Leonard has no interest in joining Anthony Davis? Lebron James when we are assuming he has an interest in Los Angeles..

"I got you. Kill all these guys that serve. They are the champions. Joe? Jake. Champion. Lease. Twists. The awesome, great Stevie totally awesome. I love that. It's I think it's fantastic. It again at the end. I think if I'm not mistaken, that's Darren Pang that and one of his colleagues. I'm not sure it's a little bold guy. That's all I know. And they basically go let's hear for Brad hall everyone that the end there. That's, that's the voices you heard at the end, basically the old vaudeville hook off the stage is what that was or the music of the Oscars. If it was Darren I'd be a little surprise. He wouldn't have made it a little more fun of it. But I heard that at the end to right. They're like, well that may be the worst time on TV. Didn't they say something like that? That may be the worst video or worse. Two minutes TV that was the broadcasters. But these were the two guys that were actually on the stage that we're kind of say, okay, you've, you've had your say, that's pretty good. Stevie stevie? I've been on the end of that many times many times where where I think, I'm funny. I think I've just rolling. I feel a little grip on my shoulder with a little pullback. Thanks a lot, Jim. We're gonna need you to have a seat. Steve, one time I was on the vet one time, Steve and. I was living in Ottawa. But I came out here for an event with Kevin Lowe, and another local guy that they, they have golf to raise a ton of money ton of money for hospital. And they asked me to come out and MC the thing. Well Stevie, I came out a couple days. Early. Locked myself in my hotel room. I went through the bar fridge about six times, the guy said, are you giving the shit away? Don't they got to reload? The perfect. A bar fridge shores. A lot of operations in there. Okay. There's, there's a lot of airplane bottles, pal. Okay. Yeah. Got a reload that again. And I showed up to the event. Think so, I was I was hammered case TV hammered been up for a couple of days straight. Got up to do it and. The Kate's family, Darryl gates, of course, who owns the others had just during this deal I was up and they had donated of large sum of money to the to the 'cause like one hundred grand or more. Right. That they wrote a check for and his mother was there and she gave the presentation. And I was like this is fantastic. What a beautiful thing. That's unbelievable. Who are you mother? Teresa god. You're good, you know, and we're sort of create a little bit, and then she sat down, and I thought it was her who was sitting with her back to me. And I, I went up behind her what you're just fantastic. And you're, you know, you're you're kinda hot for eighty plus. Put me. I did. Right. Like you're kinda hot. And I said, look at you got beautiful hair, and I put my hand on her on her head and it was, and it was, and I went to rub it, and it was a wig on another lady. And I just remember slipping and moving the wig. Right down over face, and then pulling it back. I just remember getting a phone call that because Kevin at the lever early getting a phone call the next day from Kevin going what, what the fuck what the patch what did you touch? Like my phone is blowing up from people completing that you went bananas that the event. Anyway. I've had that Steve, I've had the way worse than Brett Hull, Pell wayward. There was nothing with Brett Hull there that was line. It wasn't like he was smashing into people are being offensive. He was just being a little silly because he was well, lubricated slash sloshed. So you know what it did it did nothing to change my opinion of Brad hall. I still hold him in high esteem. I have a theory Stephen that that people because a lot of people now. Right. They're gonna look at that going. The guy has a drinking problem. Okay. Now, listen. You know, my story of course and, and, you know, I'll get people texting me because they know I'm in recovery nounce. Are you going to do something like shut up shut up? No. I'm not gonna do anything, there's kind of dick would say something like that to you tons tons, do tons. Do I get calls from people, you know, all the time and seeing, you know, these guys? And I saw many was he was drunk or something like that. Is wrong. It's just well just to make this judgment. Call on a little different Steve. It's a little different if a guy's lit up hammered out of his mind at a, a lunch are in a restaurant in at eleven o'clock in the morning. Right. That, that people might go Jesus and someone snapped a bit of him. You know, you might be going just might be a bit of an issue with the fellow, I guess, you don't have in bacon and eggs and vodka. I mean, maybe, maybe but, but you gotta give these guys a pass man. You know you gotta give a guy a pass his team just won the Stanley Cup and nobody's complaining about his foot being in the crease either. So get after it. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. That's right. It's like when people go to Vegas Steve, have you ever been to Las Vegas? No. It's a bad idea for me Jimmy. It's a bad idea. No, no. It's good. I'm going to take you. There are going to take you there because you love the action all that stuff. And you don't mind getting, you know, having a few cups, all look after you Steve. Okay. I'll look after we're gonna go there. But, but often when people go to Vegas. That you would think when they get there, the first time in their life. Like what happened to me? It's like, oh my God. You can you what's it's free booze. Yeah. Yeah. Only if you gamble. No fucking problem there. Okay, double whim, and I can smoke. Yeah. You could smoke and gavel and drink. And I went crazy I went crazy verse and lots of people, do you think I'd never been out of the house before. So you see these people out of their element the little bit. And they just go nuts. Right. It's, it's all about the drinking. It's all about the party and then people will bury them saying they got out of control. It's like no, no. It's there in Vegas, man. They get a pass. So let's go easy on bread. Hall of everyone's picking apart here saying the guys, the guys got some sort of issue, doesn't he was having a riot at a time in his life where it probably means more than when he wanted with Dallas. Well, fortunately, I haven't seen too much in the way of negativity. There's probably some people on Twitter, very young saying, oh, brought their drunk Krampe to this thing. We also wanted to talk a little bit about your trip from the airport where you picked a girlfriend of yours up so yeah. So. Couple of things. So a friend of mine, I picked up a, chick friend of mine who was away for the weekend. The Stevie picked her up literally picked up on my car. Okay. If I wanted to pick her up Steve, I could've done that too. I think we all know that by now. Sure, get your captain, swath here, captain. Suave. Keping charm. Ekos swamy. Anyway, I drove into the airport on the on Friday and then they were coming back today. There. I live in, of course, and they went out to sea for a wedding family wedding, and, and came back and got in the car when I pick them up. And Steve, I totally get this. They just after a weekend together a nice family at the end of it. Steve. They just wanted to look and murder each other. The car driving dropping one of them off after another. And every time someone going on the car, you know, thank God, Jason couldn't stand other second just. You don't just hammer them. I hate them. I hate her. She, you know, and it reminded me and I was laughing my head off. You know you have more fun with strangers. It's, it's weird. You know, you wouldn't you wouldn't talk about strangers family shit raise the different pile. Stevie in my fifties. Okay. I'm fifty seven years old now my brother's year old, and my brother, Paul and well indoor fifty Steve. We got in a fistfight. What? Yes over what fit. Well, he was he came here to stay with me. And we played a bunch of golf, and we're our threshold Steve for each other is about, like we have a riot. We have a right when I see him, we sit around shoot the shit for about six seven hours straight. And then we have fun that night and we play off the next day. They'll we'll have dinner again and then he'll start. It'll start to creep in Steve little bit of the edginess with each other. Right. Right. It'll sort of like. Is that right? Right. That, that thing right here. Give a guy little date right about nice outfit there with a really. Yeah. You you're talking like. Right. So day. Three is day. Three is done, Steve. Kay done. Time to go home. You get outta my face. I'll get out of yours, so we're into day four Steve being together in close quarters and I got a little epi. Now, my brother's got a pretty quick little trigger there Stevie. Okay got the short wick. And I was getting under his skin a bit. Right. And we were playing golf and we were he said, maybe it's time we pack it all in here. Hotshot. Okay. Big mouth. I said, yeah, fine. Fine. Let's do it. Get in the car and getting the cart. And he's, he's. Yup. At me are always like those, I said, you know what shut shut up? You know you're the. And Steve, I can see a little vain starting to form on the side of his head. Okay. And I know I know you don't wanna go further Steve gender stay if you see the vein. Okay, let's shut this down. Let's shut this down right now all of this. Well, I kept getting I kept pursuing Steve a little bit. We'll why I don't know Steve. I don't know. It's a family thing, and I kept getting under skill little bit. Steve hard to believe that I could get under your shift disturbing. That's sure. Sure. Steve to make to make a long story short. He was stay might place. I got a little confectioner on the corner where I buy my Fags, and that's a British term for cigarettes, and we pulled in there and he I came back to the car. I know this thing's this things sort of done now. He's going home and, and he'd take God his clubs out of the car, and we started walking back to my place. He didn't understand spent forty five seconds. More car with me. I said, where are you going? You're not going to my place. I'll tell you that. I'll send your shit you. You're not stepping foot in my house, UPC shit. And then he got out of the, you know, his walking I stopped my car got out and I kinda just shove them a little bit St.. Oh, okay. I gave us the little light push. Okay. The little light somebody door right now. No, no sorry. My phone's on. That's a alert. Okay. Sorry. Go ahead brothers jank. But it's my brother's seeing if you go. One step, do not tell their story. So anyway, I gave a little shove, Steve. And next thing I see the clubs come flying off his back and I see the whites of his eyes. And I go.

"They do a little bit of like break dancing stuff, then they stand and the stage there on has a backdrop in the backdrop is the vision for the new stadium. Stay with me. So then the people the consumers, dancing, and all of a sudden, the background starts to lift up like a curtain, and they turn around and do the night king thing where they learn as their hands up and it's like, well, the thing was already going up before you did that. So I know that your arms are not controlling the background. So they lift up the background. What does it reveal three big cranes that are in? It's like the construction site where the stadium is going to be all of a sudden music starts again. And I wanna say it's done bump, bump, bump bump, you know, that song, what's that calls that cleared a loon or whatever doesn't matter. I know you don't know Jay. So, so then one of them, it goes done ah, and one crane like releases what's in its crane, and it's like blue and yellow confetti. No, it's basketball's. Sorry. I did not know that basketball. Wow. I love it. Even. So it's like. The other ones like Donna. It's basketball, and then all of a sudden three cranes star turning, and they do this choreographed like swing to the left. Swing to the right circle around and it's incredibly awful amazing because you know there's a lot of rules to being able to operate a construct. He's like a construction vehicle. So those guys have that be actual crane operators. In a union that day were like guess what? My workdays gonna be today. I'm going to drop some colorful basketball's from the clutches of my crane for a bunch of rich people that have no idea. What's happening? Eight is chefs kissed. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. And I will say Kevin Durant was there for sitting on state if that's all he is coming back. Not enough to convince you to come back then. I don't know what the hell else you'd like us to do Mr. Durant. Please. If you do nothing else this weekend, go back, and there's a just watch that video. Maybe I'll tweet out the link because there's a million different. There's a super long version. You don't need to watch any of that. I love that your TS was. We're going to talk about all the important sports stuff. The last seven. We're not gonna talk about basketball because Jay might not get this podcast up till tomorrow, at ten pm who's who's to say. Let's see what happens. We'll see. No spoilers. There's another series going on. Who's the favorite in the game tonight? The warriors. Okay, another, another fine. Another Stanley Cup final happening is the Stanley Cup final between the Bruins and the blues J went to the game. I know that series is tied up you're going to game five. Yes, that's exciting. Look the game what was seven to the other night. Jay. Can take some of those goals and spread them out. Oh, so it's like an aggregate that would be nice. It'd be it'd be cool. I wonder if in history, there's ever been a team that has lost the Stanley Cup. But over aggregate scored more goals, I would say probably the good question losing the popular vote, or winning the popular vote and losing the Alexia doesn't matter, you know, the electoral college seven games. I was trying to oh. To make it sports. Cool. So. Bread holes a maniac. He came out after the anthem and like pumped up the crowd and the during the game. He flipped off the Bruins bench which fine. I love it. Get into it. Here's my issue. If you wanna come out when the anthems doing you do the anthem Brett Hull, sing the anthem or don't come out. You know, you don't get somebody else comes out does the anthem walks away. Brett Hull comes out and he's like what's. And then walks back in no do the anthem Brett Hull, setup interest sing it, there's only one there's no Canadian team. So you only have to do the one..

"Nellie. Brett Hull was Hulley Adam Oates Otzi greatly any was well Janney, and we've got gunny and gunny, and now Shannon Brennan Shanahan was Shani. It's, it's, it's always either. I e or wide by the way kudos. Steve Levy for letting us know the term washrooms haven't heard that in a while washroom, right? Go to the bathroom. Tommy likey tiny why Tommy going to washroom visa look I can only hope that after thirteen straight losses in Stanley Cup final play with all due respect to Boston Bruins, and their fans and the team that the floodgates are now open and the sT Louis Blues can. Go win the next three and then take home the Cup really. Well, better team from start to finish without question. They came out, hit in that first period to, to you, what a score fest. We're going to have three to until overtime in that absolute rocket by Guney. You know. Appropriate nickname for a guy to hit that shot. And that was a Howard of slapshot. But again, we'll see what happens as series. It's funny. The blues should be. I mean you could make it very community. They should should taken both games in Boston. I mean they had game. They were off to nothing and then Boston came back, and they dominated after that last night was the first day, the only game in this were they looked like the better team. Boston outplayed them in game one and deserve that win. Absolutely goes back to Saint Louis tied at one. Call Gunson's game winning goal is the MVP moment of the week. Brought to you by sport clips cut the way. Download the new sport clips haircuts app and check in how many games into the series before. Trade comes head to toe in Saint Louis blues gear. That's the real question. They send this. They went. Oh, wow. Okay. I like that. I like both answers. We are ninety eight days from the NFL season and Redskins head coach Jay Gruden thinks that hard noxious follow the Oakland Raiders, my beloved raiders coach by his brother Jon Gruden. The Redskins one of only five teams eligible for the program that chronicles training camp. So too are the raiders coach by his brother, John? So it could be the lion. San Francisco forty Niners. Giants or the other teams eligible to appear on hard nuts might go junior. Give me some like I guess it's win win for me like if the raiders are on it, I'm gonna watch it and salivate over every second if they're not on it. I love no distraction. Who do you wanna hard knocks? Oh, it's gotta be Oakland. Right. I mean, unless you could get the Browns to double back and go around to in this one. It would have to be Oakland. This classic brother move. By the way, you don't want to do something off a good opportunity for your brother. Love you, bro. People think you're just being a good family man. In reality, you know what problems you're jumping into his lap. And as mentioned the Redskins one of five teams eligible, Oakland Detroit Lions the Niners and. The New York Giants who have gone out of their way off season to make every move so poss so boring in their endeavors to make them as unappealing to hard knocks very true to be the raiders. But think about that. You just said, unappealing, I'll go back to could be allies last year. Daniel. These are all football topics, hard knocks is about the not about foot, but there's no sizzle with the ninth right now. Very zero sizzle the only counter I would have to the raiders, and the team has made it apparent they'd rather do it next year when they moved Vegas, isn't that a better story? Like you got a team moving to Vegas point. That is a good point. It is. But I mean I don't think they can listen. I think that from HBO's perspective that worried about this year. There was there was a two year run. Like when was the bucks. And then that was the falcons hawks and great wash was great Washington rate really well in Alabama, considering they have, like half the crimson roster just targeting the Alabama audience. Yes wash the way to go. I have a feeling you're raiders will be under the microscope. No doubt. Well, like I said win win for me. I'll watch every second of that. Good Lord, you think bad now we can have we can have like hard knocks updates every single day that point. Hard news out of major league baseball last night, there was a child struck by line drive at the cub Astor's game club. The cubs Albert Amora hit a fourth inning line drive into the stands down the third base line, where it struck a young girl. She was picked up by man who appeared to be with their he ran up the stairs with the child at the minute maid park. This was a difficult moment, obviously to watch it's difficult and even the radio call was difficult. But you gotta hear it L Maura, hammers.

"The fan. CBS sports network. I remember I wasn't getting the nets much of a chance going into the series and they won game. One in Gary sent me the old alike now, and it was it was a good game. How do you like these nets now winning game one? I said, yeah, I played really well good for them. That was good. And then they got swatted around a little brother, bang bang. Get outta here. We got bigger things bigger plans than you. Nets peeling off guys like Spencer Dinwiddie off the bottom of Joel Embiid shoe, get out get out. Yeah. Then work out for dinner. Now. It's all about the draft lottery. Big. Yeah. It's right, basically. Yeah. I mean, I do I'm now more. Now, we're getting some of these, you know, be teams out of here. I am a little better better competitive series. Second round, right? Exactly. Like who the hell wanted to watch the Orlando Magic in the postseason game last night that was over in the first quarter, just pathetic. And that's listen. I'm more of an MBA guy. The NHL guy. One thing you can't deny is the. First round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the first round the NBA playoffs. Not even a contest we're talking about competitive stuff. But I do think that the raptors the Celtics played really well the Sixers played really, well, the bucks. There's some good teams big teams and really good players that are moving forward. When you think of the NHL, you got the Columbus blue, Jack is, you know, you've got the islanders, and I'm not I'm not trying to spare challenges. I'm just saying. These are teams that people are not familiar with. Yeah. Right. The Saint Louis blues the Dallas Stars. It'll be the worst. I was like rooting for that the worst possible. The least interesting would have to be the Columbus blue jackets versus probably Saint Louis blues. The Dallas Stars. I would think now not from the eyes of the the league because I think what Columbus that. It's trading deadline is amazing and they finally found their game. And they got John Tortorella. So they got a personality. But I think I think if you're the league I mean, you would think that you'd want Ovechkin in there and you'd probably west. Who's guess Colorado? San Jose Colorado's got a lot of Dallas players in there. An exciting team Dallas plays like the islanders. They play defensive. I it's very physical team. Good goaltending. So basically, the Western Conference is going to be represented by a team that nobody cares about to me to me. Interesting to watch Dallas and the islanders for us because that would be like to one games. Well, if they islanders are in it that's going to be that'll be a hell of a lot of fun media. We don't talk about them basically all during the regular season the Stanley Cup final. That'll be a lot of people around here. You know, if you're hockey fan, you know, who the players are. But like nobody knows who the Saint Louis czar or the San Jose Sharks. I mean, even though they have had one of the more successful runs here last ten years people. I know who they are. But I don't think the general fan knows who they are. I think I could name one Saint Louis blues player period that's ever played for them in the history of the league, Wayne Gretzky. Brett Hull, right? That'd be good. Yeah. Be outside of that was Matola blue at one time was Matoba. I'm sure he probably was somewhere along the line was great fewer ever a Saint Louis blue. It was not. So could you name a single Saint Louis blues player Alan the history of their organization that Gordy Howe played one hundred years is he ever on the she's like everybody went through sale Lois? Sometime. Didn't it? What about Alexander Mogilny was he ever on the blues about guff flinch? Was worship council on the blues. Flinch? Flinch russian. Yeah. With c- ever a member of the blues. Lynch unbelievable because he had bounced around a little bit and on the current team. I don't even know if. Jake, Allen's the only one. The goal that's winning for them. I don't. But if you ask me to name someone with twenty five of the name that you know, if I if I told you I don't know Tarasenko. Yes. Yes. Of course, I've heard of Tarasenko I told you Brayden Schenn that name again, you know, rhino Riley. I would. Tricked. Maroon what a maroon? Yes, I would not have known. He was on the blues though. Okay. Yeah. Michael Dell zodda. Okay. He's Saint Louis. Yes. Good for you. We still playing good for the Saint Louis blues. He was on the Rangers a day Easter, okay? All right, Jerry. What you got forced me brought to you by Paul Conti Cadillac. One mile west of the meta brook on sunrise highway in freeport, we start with the playoffs start with the NBA playoffs as the nets season came crashing down as Joel Embiid scored scored again, and then pointed in their faces it..

"History does tend to forget this part of it that the royals went to the league office and protested game was restarted and the royals did eventually win the game five to four. But why do we love this so much as George Brett went local? God. Have the wad rod? Guard bradtha and Billy. The. Martin. Well, what they're talking about Frank is that he's got too much pine tar and. You got to have a certain amount of distance from the bark of the bat and the pine tar Billy Martin boss right before right? Brad isn't sure whether he has a home run yet or not. Now that is the way I'm Byron McClelland with the batteries. Now, they're going to measure it across home plate. I've ever I've never seen this. I never have either. I don't know what I don't know what they're measuring. They might be going to call George Brett out. Well. Why not? There you go the pine tar incident. All right. We got a lot of texts coming in and some good ones and don't worry text line. I got you covered on this number two back in the late nineties, the NHL had this rule about skates in the crease. And there was this big to do you didn't want players entering the crease. Trying to protect the sanctity of the crease and didn't want players charging the net. They figured it would cause injury. The NHL has done more tweaking than you know, that dude you see down in the tenderloin right now. But sorry that was not a good joke. I tried. It was just it wasn't good. I'm sorry. But the NHL cuts off his nose despite his face too often at least back in the day. And the crease rule was ridiculous. More goals were disallowed except the one that mattered most. When Brett Hull scored Dominik Hasek and game six skate in the crease. No review. Stanley Cup awarded to the stars. Donald Donald tied shit. Away by spelling. Scott. Yeah. There you go, man. I hate the stars two dollars. When they're and then the sharks were like chief rivals, man. Mike Madonna to jump never really liked bread whole either.
