"For his re-election. I think it would be lagoa. But who knows at the end of the day? I don't think even if she can control Trump. So he's going to do what he thinks is best this whole Supreme Court thing has opened up a lot of doors from the past though. I was listening to two separate shows yesterday axon Tab and the bulb work and both had some Republicans on there while former Republicans anti-trump Republicans and both of them mentioned still feeling cheated after Robert Bjork rejection from the Supreme Court back in the 1980s. He was a Reagan appointee, but he had some pretty crazy views namely he thought Brown versus Board of Education was the wrong billing and yeah, that was the one desegregated schools and started desegregation in general. So is that really a guy we want on the Supreme Court and also like they felt like dead And she did and how he got taken down. Apparently Ted. Kennedy was involved somehow but I can't believe I guess I can nowadays that Republicans would still feel scorned after thirty-plus years for This Racist. They're still trying to get back at democrats for that. Can you pick a better martyr, please like conceal the racism a little bit. I also saw this good point made on Twitter. I thought I'd share it with you. The Senate currently has two members Kelly Loeffler from Georgia and Martha McSally from Arizona who were not voted on by the people through various reasons. They had to be appointed to their seats and I don't know it's kind of weird that two senators who weren't elected by the people are talking about this mandate. They have no mandate. They weren't chosen by the people so they shouldn't really be getting a vote on this not something that could shape Healthcare in people's lives for longer than they'll be around. It's just it's insane. So hopefully man, we have to look at a lot of new rules after Trump's gone to really rain in people's power. Well, we kind of just this is going to happen. But in the murder of Brianna Taylor only one officer has been charged Brett hankison Brett. He was charged with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and that's the big breaking news of the day. However, these were not for Brianna Taylor they were for her neighbors. So that means yes 0 charge just in a murder the two other officers who are the main focus were still let go there still free out there. They're still working at the department. They are Miles Cosgrove and Jonathan Mattingly. The reason that wanton endangerment was chosen for Hankerson is because the investigation found that he fired blindly into the apartment. He kind of felt something big was coming down became. Last night I saw that JB pritzker the governor of Illinois. He declared some type of emergency as well. So he knew something was going to happen. We'll see what the Kentucky attorney general says. When a speaks today. You might be already speaking by the time this by the time this gets out there but man he has some explaining to do I also want to challenge the media to get their act together because I guarantee you tonight there will be riots and there will be looting after the peaceful protests. But those are not the real story here. The media needs to realize it's just an artist and opportunists found. No, I'm not condoning looting or loss of business or anything like that, but when cops bust into your home and shoot you in your bed and nobody gets charged for that. How do you honestly expect anyone to follow the law? The law has failed black Americans time and time again? And I'm not even saying they're the ones who are doing the writing in the Looting, but I think we need to focus on what's really important here. We have some big voting rights news in three key States. First of all starting in North Carolina state has agreed to several key rules that will expand the people's ability to vote including not counting all ballots postmarked by election day and received by the 12th of November. So as long you post mark it on Election Day and it gets to them by the 12th. Your vote will count them. They will allow voters to correct their mail and balance if they're rejected so that will help a lot and then we'll also establish ballot drop off stations. So you don't even necessarily have to send it back in the mail off and kind of hope that it gets there in time. There was a similar ruling in Wisconsin yesterday the Supreme Court, they decided that they will be accepting balance 6 days after the election shut up until the 9th up here for my fellow wisconsinites and lastly this Pennsylvania one is not so good their Supreme Court ruled that any balance that are not in the secrecy envelope will Be thrown out because they could be subject to fraud or whatever. So the secrecy envelope is just another envelope that you put the first envelope in. I guess it's to hide the signature something but I'm a double enveloping them man. That sounds like something that shouldn't keep you from voting you're having your vote count. The scary projection was that this could increase the balance the number of bells that were rejected by a certain percentage and if you kind of game that out for how many people are expected to vote that's about a hundred thousand votes that could be thrown out because they're not in this secrecy envelope. So if you live in Pennsylvania, make sure you know this make sure your family knows this make sure your friends and Neighbors Know It Double envelope that thing to make sure that your vote counts and to get Trump out of there so we can actually start counting people's votes again. How about that? Because one hundred thousand votes is not significant very significant. If Hilary had a hundred thousand more votes last election. She would want Pennsylvania. I think so it matters and make sure you know, even though I don't live in Pennsylvania and you know someone who does tell them about this Speaking of the election. There's this weird undercurrent story that's been happening, which is that Mississippi of all places might be in play for the Senate. Once again, I'll have to dig more into why that is and why it's coming, you know online all of a sudden but my Gatsby who ran in like a special election or something in 2018, he's running again, and he's a Democratic candidate. And yeah, apparently he's getting some traction and it's going to be a close one there, or maybe it is Mississippi. So don't get your hopes up too much but definitely something to watch.

"Double in rock and you can't deny the front page news. You got the news off all of that. Yes for you for me for the new. I wish I can't thank thank you so much. Good kid your news topped the intro song off all that. You can't your first story can't be arrested after that. You can't be like in Kentucky know in Kentucky. Actually that is exactly where we're going. Well before we go there know that okay, that's fine. That's the only news we talking about how long that's what it is. Well numbers drop where they met and they will and because we're okay with that because we have this forum to speak long as we not disrespectful be fine and Facebook page. Suppress some of these views when we start talking about this and Facebook do what you got to do cuz our voices have to be heard. Yeah, and we going to do what we gotta do. Everybody needs to do what they need to do. Yeah, absolutely a group page one person members page yo, no officers were charged with the murder of Brianna Taylor as she came home. This is what they've been hyping us up for to wait for four months while they're investigating and they're investigating investigation was total BS. Basically what it came down to is they are charging Brett hankison on three counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree in connection with the shooting. Of course these charges Drew immediate criticism from demonstrators who wanted more Samir serious charges as well the arrests of three of the other officers involved. For anybody that's not familiar with the wanton endangerment and what it is and what carries basically basically they're saying is that he wants and lie and blindly fired into her apartment shooting Ten rounds according to the Kentucky statute. Someone is guilty of wanton endangerment in the first degree went under circumstances that is manifesting Extreme indifference to the value of human life. He wantonly engages in conduct which creates a substantial danger of death or serious obstacle injury to another person. This is classified as a Class D Felony, which is the lowest of four classes of felonies that they could you know, that's the lowest classes of felonies off. The maximum sentence is five years. The minimum is 1 year. If convicted on this he faces five years imprisonment for each count. He has three counts wage. Attorney general Daniel Cameron said in the press conference a class a felony. For example, a murder charge carries a sentence of up to fifty years or life a minimum sentence of twenty years. So if they were to charge this as a class a felony at least then he could get some type of, you know, a harsher penalty, but that that's not what they're doing. They're saying that his shots came from an outside sliding glass door and through her bedroom window, which is according to a statement from the Attorney General's office. Some of the bullets went through Taylor's department and into one next door where three people were inside including a pregnant woman and a child. The three accounts are for each of those people in those in that apartment. They're saying that there is no conclusive evidence that any bullet fired from his weapon actually struck Miss Taylor and then of course, you know, they're talking about Boyfriend who shot at them first when they obviously they kicked in the door of home. What do you supposed to do? You know when you're protecting it which should have the right to do and it was illegal weapon that he had in the home as well. And this is also something that the police are aware of can possibly happen when executing a no-knock warrant. So, you know, which is again which the problem of it cuz you know, if you just busting somebody's door and they happen to get their fire that they're going to fire back at you. So you already know this is an aggressive situation going in so why not be on the you know, you're going in with a fear of your life, you know what I'm saying? So, you know the whole the whole thing to me is very confusing especially since you know, the family the legal system Ben Crump, okay, they're saying basically the only reason that you're bringing even the only reason yep. Being indicted is because of the three white people in the apartment next door knob or anything that happened to her or what about the other her black neighbors that bullets went into their home as well. Right? I said, no just no respect for black people black women even the the the due process and Justice at these people talk about that that this is what we're voting for. This is all the stuff there were supposed to do it up hold these policies and all of this were voting for racist things and policies and people say that they're going to change them and they're not changing anything and we had to take off a month for them them to shovel this pile of nothing and two peoples face and that's why they're mad protests erupted all over the place. I am furent nobody to talk about destroying project. Well, this is disgusting and we all knew that this was going to happen. It's going to get no time. Okay poor girl. Okay. So one song Could be anybody once again, once again, thank you even talking about repealing the no-knock warrant Laura. I think feel no type of change. No type of anything else. And so what can we do? Oh, we gotta wait for the next election to vote out attorney Daniel Cameron, like pleased with this, please. Once again, I'm a person of color young beautiful black woman has been murdered by.

"And then they and then they stopped dead. With countless acts of violence and hatred will not cry no more by Rhiannon giddens. This is democracy Now democracynow.org the quarantine report. I'm Amy Goodman in New York joined by my co-host. Nermeen Shaikh. Hi narmeen. Good morning, Amy and Welcome to our listeners and viewers around the country and around the world. Well a grand jury has failed to charge any of the three white Louisville police officers involved in the killing of Brianna Taylor with her death more than six months after they stormed the twenty-six-year-old black woman's home in a no-knock raid and fired a hail of bullets in the middle of the night leaving Walking Dead the grand juries only indictments were three counts of wanton endangerment against former Louisville police detective Brett hankison for shooting into the apartment. Of a neighbor during the raid that ended Taylor's life on March 13th, the two officers who shot her six times were not charged after the grand jury deemed their actions justified in all the three officers fired 32 shots in the raid. This is Kentucky's Republican attorney general Dan Cameron announcing the decision at a news conference on Wednesday. After hearing the evidence from our team of prosecutors the grand jury voted to return an indictment against detective hankinson for three counts of wanton endangerment for wanting placing the three individuals in apartment 3 in danger of serious physical injury or death the charge one endangerment in the first degree is a class B felony and if found guilty the accused conserve up to five years for each count Brianna Taylor's family responded to the Grand jury's decision through their attorney Bauman Crump who called a quote outrageous and offensive to Brianna Taylor's memory. It's yet another example of no accountability for the genocide of persons of color by white police officers with all we know about Brianna. Taylor's killing How could a fair and just system results in today's decision Crump asked soon after the decision came down. Protesters flooded the streets and cities Nationwide in Louisville, at least two police officers were shot before a 9 p.m. Curfew police say the shooting suspect is in custody police fired chemical agents and projectiles at protesters throughout the night arresting at least forty six people. This is one of the protesters in Louisville. It feels like Thursday and I think it's a fact black lives. Do not matter to our elected officials in Louisville, Kentucky, but apparently in this country, you know, this has been incredibly traumatic difficult time for the community news of the grand jury's decision comes after months of Relentless protest demanding Justice for Brianna Taylor amidst an uproar for racial justice, but Wednesday Trump praised how her case was handled was really brilliant Kentucky attorney general Daniel off. Cameron is doing a fantastic job. I think it's a star. He's handling it very well. You know who he is, right. All of this comes as an FBI investigation into the phone. No knock warrant. The officers used to enter Brianna Taylor's Home in March is ongoing for more we go directly to Louisville, Kentucky where we're joined by sadika Reynolds president and CEO off of Louisville's Urban League. Welcome back to democracy now. Sadika, you're an attorney. You're an activist you've been in the streets. Can you respond to the grand jury decision off? I think the lack of environments in the grand jury process is an indictment on the system itself some of what we heard the Attorney General talk about representing to the grand jury. Some of the things he talked about being inconclusive one example is he we've all heard and read the death certificate that said five. She had been shot off. Shop five times he indicated yesterday in his top that was six times. These are things that should have gone to a jury. They have created a completely separate grand jury system for police officers. And and really if you compare it to the process that Kenny Walker went through you all will remember that Kenny Walker was the boyfriend of Brianna and she was in the home at time the police arrived and he ended up firing at the officers and hitting one of them and the head of grand jury process. I mean, he was them same fact pattern everything that they would have had to present as it relates to police. They should have had to present as it related to Kenny Kenny's grand jury process took less than 3 minutes. And for these officers two days of presenting and and there's something else we are saying now that the grand jury has said that the officers Behavior was justifiable, but we don't know if that's what the grand jury said or if that's what the Attorney General decided and therefore did not even present to the grand jury. We don't know what he presented to the grand jury. And I think that's really important for us to talk about I think the other part of it is anybody practicing law knows there's nothing easier than getting an indictment. There's nothing easier than getting an indictment and and and so the fact that they could not and did not get indictment in. My view is an indictment on this entire system and it is the reason that people are protesting and raising their voices because of this inequity in our justice system. Well, so they got the the Attorney General said that the state's investigation about the use of force by these police officers thought that the use of force was justified because they had been fired upon first by Brianna. Taylor's husband Kenneth Walker your respond not husband her partner your response to that off. What what.
