"The reason that I enjoyed one of the games specifically this year and it was all him. It wasn't just partially him. It was a game that needed one final out to be recorded and he recorded that out and it was in spectacular fashion doing something that other people can't do, especially other people on the roster. We've already specifically seen not do this. That's all I'm saying. I don't think chasing shreves should come back to the Yankees, but I'll always fondly remember when he got out of that or rolled his chairman jam and beat the mets and got to come back or back to him. That was awesome. That game was great. That's an individual game. I like following those sometimes. But no, I don't want him. And look, Velazquez and Greg Allen kind of defined certain points of the Yankee season that were positive. Greg Allen kind of helped lift the team and bring a different element to the game with his speed and defense and lefty bat right before the trade deadline, which kind of kept the team afloat a little bit more and was like, okay, now we're going to buy. Now we're in full bi mode if the Yankees don't go on that little streak before the deadline, we don't know what we don't know what the season turns into. We don't know if we have Gallo, which agree or not. What is going to be valuable in some capacity in 2022? And Velasquez was on this team during their 33 and 11 stretch or whatever it was that dug them out from the grave and brought them back into the wild card. I mean, you look back and you're like, yeah, it doesn't matter. We still didn't get the home field advantage. We still lost to the Red Sox, so it all sucked, but they defined very positive aspects of a season that was miserable. Most of the season was miserable. And then we also have, which we didn't touch upon. Brett garter, free agent, Aaron O'Day, free agent. Because I just wanted to touch on this quickly. Because the Yankees financial restraints the last year, forced bran cashman to craft three contracts that had player and team options, which I've never even heard of in my life before last year where it was the they have to act on the player option first, and then if they decline it, then the team decides. It's not the team decides in the player to side. So obviously, Brett Gardner would be dumb to accept his player option, which was I think like 2.3 million with the team option being or no. Yeah, the team option was more expensive, right? The player option was smaller. And so the team option was a lot of money. The Yankees were obviously not picking that up, but then on the flip side, why would Gardner pick up a $2.3 million option when he has a $1.2 million buyout just take the buyout? It's free money..

"R. a. dot com slash radio every day thousands of hackers try to steal crypto but archaelogists uses air gapped technology by forming a protective barrier. That insulates you from hackers. And secures your crypto or yours at get archaelogists dot com the morning show with boomer esiason and greg nadi boomer and geo couple of local baseball stories of interest. One boomer alluded to story on sunday. That came out the bob. Classic and bob klapisch said that there was a an issue between garrett cole and brett gardner after the spider tack thing happened in the early part of the season we know that garrett cole became the face of that thing that press conference he had that was so incredibly awkward. So i guess there was some spider attack or something that was in the clubhouse in brett gardner was trying to get a rise out of garrett cole and trying to make them laugh about the whole situation which of course is as you said you come from a ball busting culture and both you and i cover bowl busting south shore culture. You know things like that are pretty common. You know if there's something going on needle agai sometimes you laugh. Sometimes he gets upset. Well apparently garrett cole got very upset about it did not want to laugh and did not think it was like a fun clubhouse gag and then got in the face of brett gardner and it showed you how this issue truly did affect him both mentally and also on the mound all of last year so that was an interesting one. If you would've asked me to guys. I would've gone to an issue in the yankees clubhouse this past year brett gardner garrett cole probably would have been too. I would've picked well. It also goes to show you just how intense the whole thing was for garre coal. Yeah and that's you know. Sometimes you you gotta be aware like if you're brett gardner you just gotta be aware of the sensitivities that surround the actual issue and sometimes you can you know it's a fun thing to make a good joke about but other times i just got to tread lightly because of and we saw the the whole press conference from Garrett cole it was not pretty now and we actually were making fun of it. The next day. And i'm sure garrett was probably very sensitive about all of it and maybe that wasn't the best time for joke. Yeah well maybe. It wasn't with the way that he reacted But still brett gardner has been in that clubhouse for over a decade at this point you know and he's gonna he's gonna mess around he's gonna have some good. I'm just trying to bring some light. That scituate men are being men and you're trying to have a little fun with each other and you know we were down at the super bowl. Craig said you know. Throw the ball as hard as you can't. Ow tony pissed right. Being being greg got a good laugh out of it but al is just tick tick for three days. Yeah no i can understand. Just couldn't handle it. It's not as funny for everybody. Yeah it's it's not as plenty for everybody The other thing is no one wants to work for the mets. I am officially. I've decided there's one guy apparently is interested in the job. And it's brian sabin. And the reason that. Brian savvy and is interested in the job the old giants. Gm is still in the front office there because he doesn't have any power anymore. Because i'm younger guys. Came in and scott. Harris is one of those younger guys. That's there the giants general manager. Now just turned down the mets here. The other part of this is to the. Mets are going after guys. Who like all right. Theo epstein left the cubs and wants to be an owner somewhere. And he's working a major league baseball so he wasn't gonna come billy. Bean has never left oakland. What was going to change now about him coming here. Scott harris just got done with a hundred and seven. Win season out with the giants. And he's gonna wanna come like some of these guys going after just doesn't make any sense. He's they're not going to say yes. And i appreciate going to the top of top asking but like these stories about them getting rejected. It's one of two things happening one. They've got an unruly unrealistic list or to. Nobody wants to work for steve. Cullen both but i would say that whoever does get the job. Could you imagine that first press conference. Well what you're you're the guy in the list. What we're shaping up to now. There was theo's billy bean. It was scott harris. It was this that and now. You're yeah you're right. You're fifteenth guy on the list. So how does that feel. And by the way. What's in your past because everybody's gonna go kick. It is about and plus. I do believe that there is a there is a level of trepidation by anybody who takes his job simply because of the intensity of the job as the people around here are finding out right about now. Joe judgements finding out about a joe. Douglas finding out about it. Rob solids finding out about it. Daniel jones has been living for three years. People find this stuff you know to be very distracting and also intense. Maybe somebody you know. They can't find the right guy that wants to take all that stuff on is not an easy job to say the least. Yeah and. I'm not saying that everybody wanted to work for the wilpon. There's no way that i'm saying that. But i also think that there's a like steve. Cohen is a scary guy to work. He may be even worse to work for that. I mean. I do think that there is a perception out there. That may be reality. That steve cohen is going to be a tough guy to work for and the fact that he's got a twitter account. Find me another owner in baseball. It's got a twitter account like that now. I know mark. Cuban has a twitter account. Where saying a bunch of stuff but very rarely is it stuff with the team or this or that politically based means like politically that kind of museums. that way. and he's he. I think people look at mark. Cuban as a global entrepreneur. I and they owner of the dallas mavericks second right. Now steve cohen. Everybody when you hear. Steve colin because he was so elusive prior to becoming the mets owner. That everybody thinks the steve cohen is just as the mets owner. And it's i don't want to deal with this guy boyd. Mark cuban is getting involved in prescription drug pricing. I did not see that yeah. There's so much that i'm on top of that. One okay to lower the cost of drug prices wants to be able to do that and he's gonna create a company. That's going to do exactly that. No that sounds good. What he's claiming what's lower some drug prices low. There's going to be like you know. Fifty million people that he's got get through before he could actually get trying to lower the prices on something. Okay all right virtually nowadays. Yeah so. I don't know who this guy's is a battle with the gm of the mets is going to be. I don't know the president's going to be. I don't know the manager is going to be. They wanted to get this done by the end of the world series. Happen all right. So there's one guy on this list okay. The remember talking yesterday about how al wants his broadcasters under sixty five and he wants his general managers over thirty fun. I know i think it was like over fifty. Yeah fifty four five minimum at the minimum heart so there is a guy on this list. Is i'm researching people who was the raise. Vp of player development. To apparently the mets are interested in his name. Is peter bendix all right so take a look out at the first picture when you google image. Peter bendit yeah. I'm familiar with this fella. You're familiar with fellow. Yes and he looks like he is fifteen years old. Yes he looks like a dork. So totally out totally out. I don't know he seems quirky.

What else steve. Okay why you would rather see. No i'm just saying it's just funny to me. It's like there's there's never you really think the dow lost the game. What do you think the main reason why they lost the game last night was lost the game but maybe he would have got a hit instead of watching night. Beat is maybe that. I don't i mean we're still blaming manager. Steve christ sakes how many times we ought to do this with the managers. I you know. Seven game winning streak does not single coal about aaron boot and then all of a sudden. We're talking about break. Gardner tyler wade stuff. At the one game they lost garrett cole is terrible and if this and if balls would be my i get it i mean it's just like they lost the game. The other team gets paid to g. Yeah they've they've got families yes they do that they have families and a lot of those families were former major league baseball stars by the way. Let's go to maureen kansas. what's going on maureen. Hi fellas how you've been doing you from me dear what's happening. I'm doing wonderful and jail fabulous maureen. I'm sorry maureen. Yeah you do. I i know but if i wanna happy i gotta root for them right. I hear you. But i'm more about the finances. Thank god for the yankees. That's all i can say right. So if they bring a lot of you know coin to the station so we need them to win. Okay can i. Can i ask boomer jet question. Sure let me find them. And then i'll hang up this morning. Do you think that guy's gonna find it this year. Find it to the tune of what you like. What level are you expecting. If you're expecting aaron rodgers forget it. That's not happening. Not a win How about a win. They'll find a win somewhere along the line You know they'll run into somebody who's in worse shape than they are. Just that's because the nation the nature of the business and remember last year they went on the road and they want to go play the rams. Do you remember that game. How could you not forget me right. And they won the game out in. La is probably one of the reasons. Why shum if they wanted to get rid of jared goff game somewhere along the line. Maureen is just the nature of the business. I told my husband then last night that i wanted to wager him dead. I bet you. Henry is going to have at least three hundred dollars. Thanks for the call yards on the ground. It's only happen like what three or four times in. Nfl history. no defense. Isn't that their offense. Is that bad. Like i would say that there's a chance to derrick. Henry has more rushing yards than the jets have total yards that at-bat that is a very realistic Yeah but three hundred yards. So i i was watching to ninety six as the record so no one's even forgotten to three hundred. I showed you the some of the all twenty two yesterday. The all twenty shots of the jets versus the broncos and there were some place where you could see that. Zach wilson has it and then there are some place where you can see. The players around him are not supporting him and then there are some place where it looks like. He's just completely overwhelmed like he's not like processing everything that he needs to process as because it's four quarters of football. The other team plays offense and puts points on the board and the game goes on the pressure of the game. Every player has to manage and quarterbacks in particular have to manage it better than most because they're the most significant player on the field and when that momentum shifts and this is why in preseason guys can look good. They only have to play a half score fourteen points. They feel good about themselves. They haven't played against anybody or any scheme or any of that kind of stuff and it feels good. And that's kind of what happened with zach. He probably felt really good. They felt good about him. But then when you get into the regular season and the other team is playing their starters and they are trying to score with a football and all of a sudden now. You are playing. The momentum gained back and forth before quarters and that anxiety that tension builds as the game goes on and these are the things that these kids are not prepared for the and the only way to get prepared for something like that is the live through it. And that's what you call growing pains Penn that's what we're dealing with you when you when we first started growing pains things. Okay sure didn't sweat like some other guys. I didn't sweat. No there was no sweating. Those'll tyranny who is the sweater. Yeah but you had to find your your head to find your rhythm your head you find your your happy place. Yeah well. I had to find how i fit in to the show dynamic that was pre existing. That wasn't going to change that easy for people to adapt. No that's what i needed to do. You are like a chameleon. "How do you possibly get around on that heavy come through in the clutch? Is Minnesota that strong is Minnesota? That strongly contributing factor to the Yankees success. I guess, because that game was completely out of character for this team. And it ended in the most out of character way possible. So you got a hole behind the diamond that needs to be filled. You've got Andrew Velasquez, hanging out, triple-A seasons over, doing nothing. Instead, they've decided to reshuffle the entire infield, which wouldn't be quite as much of a problem if le mayhew Torres and her shella had all even equated, you know, they don't have to exceed expectations. You don't even have to reach them. You just have to get in the ballpark. None of the three have done that. Brett Gardner has been one of the best players for the past two months. None of that is what should be happening. There should be a Frasier time should be involved in this team somehow and he's not. Aaron hicks was supposed to be here. He's not. So they don't have a center Fielder in the future. Yet, the immediate future, they don't have a middle infield sorted out. I don't think Anthony Rizzo's coming back. And I don't know if there's been a reason over the past month and a half to bring Anthony Rizzo back. I think this team is close, of course. The minor league system has every level player has outperformed expectations significantly. Anthony vault is now someone who must be game planned for. There's pitching a double-A. There are a lot of interesting pieces. If only the eggs are willing to supplement it in free agency this year, or maybe pull off another cashman pitching trade. But you know, they're not terribly far off, but they are dangerously close to being stuck in a cycle. And the players are certainly to blame because again, you know, the first through the boring first half, we said, any other combination of players would be more interesting in this group and would perform better..

"The Yankees pulled out a four three win over the Orioles on Brett Gardner's two run single off Tyler wells in the ninth inning obviously you don't want to be in a situation where it's the last inning you're you're down a run or two but you know you you want to be up there with the game on the line and obviously you know I feel like I've been having pretty good at bats recently and see in the ball well Carter also scored a G. over shell S. two run Homer in the third inning of new York's fourth win in five games since a seven game skid Nestor Cortes was sharp in a no decision for the Yankees limiting the Orioles to one run and three hits with eleven strikeouts over six in the third the Yankees remain tied with the red Sox and blue jays for the two AL wild card positions I'm Dave Ferrie

"And i don't want to add another strikeout machine to the roster but he does provide other because he's a good defensive outfielder barroga he runs the basis. Well and he's just been dog shit like he he's just been really bad and it's like if he's not this bad so that's the thing it's like. He's not this bad of a hitter so he will start to hit better and then he does when he provides a good outfield defense and he runs the basis. Well and if he's sitting only two thirty it's fine to twentieth fine but he said at one thirty so that's not fine. It's tough and honestly. I'm one of those guys. That was on. The side of clint frazier. I thought i mean clint frazier. How to good structure with the stats. Last year he hit a four on base percentage. That's what i'm saying. I don't know why the yankees just gave up on him for kind of not obviously gallos guy. I don't know well crew. Clip frazier is a weird situation. He's a man. We have documented. Clint frazier so he gets traded to the yankees at the sixteen deadline and it was pretty much like he's going to be there next leftfielder in two thousand eighteen and that didn't happen and then he had concussion hit concussion issues which kind of derail his entire season and then two thousand nineteen he just was bad and then injured and two thousand twenty the covert season he played. Well i guess at four hundred on base percentage and he's named the starting outfield starting leftfielder in spring training. And then the next day they resigned. Brett gardner and and i know record was not going to be the starting left fielder at the same time. He's the longest tenure yankee aaron. Boone loves him and he gets playing time always like whether he deserves it. Or not. And clint frazier just started. Dad got worse this year and he's had case he's he's mentally weak. I like him. i like. I like the potential of Frazier but i just feel like. He's a mentally weak player. That i feel like if you just put in kansas city or something. He'll hit two eighty and twenty home runs every year but in new york. He's like hit or miss. Because he's just ahead case and i tweeted this and i'll hand up. I ensure brett gardner. I said the only the only way brett gardner should leave. Yankee stadium is in handcuffs. I don't think the player or casket after a date playing at ninety years old. It's it's toss the plate. I mean in the field. He's i'll give it to a very good field. There's very quick very fast. It's just to. I i can't i just can't wash driver and the reason why tweeted us that i believe bet the yankees i think it was. I don't remember a couple of weeks ago out like this guy. This guy's terrible either asked me a better option than i am. Clint frazier right well. He's he's out. He's out for the season. Yeah i understand like you better off than i mean hamen yesterday. So that's why they brought in. Joey gallo because the outfield right now should be joey galloway and left. Joe judge in center surprisingly not a bad center fielder. Aaron judge and giancarlo and right. And that's a that's an amazing outfielder burgling. Well true true. I gotta bring up yesterday's game because you obviously had some opinions about yesterday's game believe the third baseman or shallow gio. Yep what what's going on there. I mean guy look like me and junior college up there. It was jewish shallow. A blue jay at one point. Yes he was. i don't know how. How did that even happen. How trading with the blue jays he was he was with the cleveland baseball organization. What are they held now. The renegade guardian guarding and then he came to the yankees in two thousand nineteen and they just like oh unlocked his sabermetrics and he's legged crazy but Yeah he's been he's been hurt pretty much for like two months. He's another guy so the yankees won thirteen games in a row with guys like andrew velasquez in tyler wade and rubio door and like yes. All the other players are playing better but like they got big performances from back of the roster guys who were playing hungry they were stealing basis. They were going i third and then labor tourism jewish l. Comes back and they've just looked flat as a team since that return. I'm not blaming it on those guys returning because that would be foolish. But i watched the thima every night. And they're no longer stealing bases they're no longer like having grinded out at bats. They just looked flat for the past ten days after they looked like unbeatable. Juggernaut for for fifteen days now is scary that thirteen game ron out being ajay's fancying that jay's I think the jays were doing terrible during that riding the jays loss to the national got swept by the nationals because abroad hand one of the worst pitchers maybe in baseball history was on the mound. Blue a couple of games to the yankees this year. Yeah and just. And i don't know what's going on with the bullpen. But i don't know if you know this statal give give the yankees and your little bit of a nugget. The bullpen has blown twenty six games this year. Which which is absurd. The james goes thirteen and thirteen in those games. The jays and place hold on now. They've blown twenty six games. They've lost all twenty six. Yes they've lost all twenty six of those try blown more games because they've won some of the games that they blow it is honestly. I can't believe it. I've never seen something like this. In my life jay's trade for broad hand the deadline i made a song about it. I wanted broad hand so hand up to me at an i think seven eighty area with jase it just every guy that goes in the bullpen from the toronto blue jays turns to dust. It's absolutely insane and you guys are all this correct we. We do have all this chapman. But he's not aroldis chapman on the mound. He's he's pitching like a shell of all the chapman. He doesn't have confidence. I it's like he might go out there and strike out the side or he and you can tell after three pitches. I've said this three pitches is all. I need to see from aroldis chapman to tell if he's going to have the saver if he's going to blow the safe because you can tell right away is comfortable or is he uncomfortable and when he's comfortable in the mount he's still unhittable but then if he's uncomfortable he falls behind hitters a throws a fastball. Center the plate and it gets hit or he hangs a slider. Yeah you i mean we are on the same side of vowed bullpens. Because i've seen yankees bullpens blow a ton of games as well. Both in has been bad this year and not to toot my own horn. I mean you've been tooting your own horn for for for ten minutes on the show Scott and i do bold predictions at the beginning of the season in mind. Was that the for the first time in a decade the yankees rotation is going to be better than the bullpen this year and i believe that that predictions come true because it's been the yankees bullpen. That's pretty much carry the pitching staff for like at least half a decade. I mean we can agree on one thing is they're more. They're more pathetic team. The boston red sox i mean what are we doing here. I mean okay team. That should be good. That's prophetic the boston. Red sox on last night. Did you see on the top of the nine austin meadows. Hit an inside the park home. Run to tie the game. The red sox like i. They came out so they bring back kora which is just like. Oh my god i know. Yeah it's like the weasel ius move of all weasel moves. But like i knew it was going to happen and then they played for him though. That's the thing that pissed me off..

I don't think he will. So who's now sleek. Who's who are the young andrew. Mccutchen andrew mccutchen is the next in line. He's hunting two hundred. I don't think andrew mccutchen has one ninety seven and that was for all your john sterling fans andrew mccutchen one ninety-seven. He has three to hit two hundred. Trae turner is the next one one ninety seven. He's got three gene. Sequeira has one any twos gotta hit eight more right and then cameron may been lorenzo. Cain ian desmond those. Those are the next on the list case. But there's of hunting hundred not three. I think i think return. Turner will get three hundred. I can see a really. Do you think you'll get three hundred. ‘Field of Dreams’ Game Features Drama, Nostalgia, and Kevin Costner
"Well, Iowa hosted their first ever MLB game last night on especially constructed field next to the real life Field of Dreams. Movie set Chicago sites. White Sox beat the New York Yankees 98 with a walk off homer in the ninth. The opening was kind of cool. Kevin Costner led to players through the cornfield onto the field. I I kind of dug that, and then he was on the field, and he did this little speech about 30 years ago. On the other side of that core, Um, they filmed a movie that stood the test of time. Thanks to that enduring impact of that little movie we had. It allowed us to come here again, and then he went on Is this heaven? And then, the crowd said, No, It's Iowa. It was kind of cool, though. You know Kevin Costner. I'm amazed how well he's aged. I mean, I was kind of. I thought it was like a flashback. You know, he looks really great. Yeah, and Jack Look, it was it was a good game. It was a good game. If you're looking for a little trivia question or an answer, Jose, a brave of the White Sox hit the first home run of the night into the cornfield. First Ever Major League home run in Iowa. Um and each each team hit four home runs. It was a It was a decent game. I didn't see all of it because Go to sleep so I could sleep in this morning. Those things for the Yankees. They got two home runs from Aaron Judge, one from Brett Gardner and one from Jean Carlo Stanton. White Sox got the one from Jose Obre, who won from Alloy Humanities, one from Seb Zavala in the game winner from Tama Anderson. And if there's any bright side is that, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said. There'll be another game next year.

Undisputed and i gave him seventy percent chance of making the team now. I don't think he'll be good enough to make the team. Like i don't think he'll earn on his physical marriage as you said. He's thirty three thirty three or thirty. Four years old hadn't played in b. Saddle you ought to be thirty. Four right it's been ten years and is playing a new position and urban meyer has said in drills. He's fine he said it's when they get into the contact the competitive play eleven on eleven that he's struggling to catch the ball or to make plays as a tight in well. Well i mean curse right. I'm just like he's a professional athlete. He's a great athlete. You know. I mean relatively speaking he can catch okay but can you catch in traffic. Can you catch with somebody about to clean your not going to be wide open. Exactly the nfl and that look that would be difficult for really great players. And he's not a great nfl player. We all know that. Not even a good one as so. That's a lot to ask. But here's why. I gave him a seventy percent chance to make the team rob because as i said. I don't think you'll be good enough to make it but let's just keep it real and this is not a shot at tim tebow. He's not good enough to be out there right now. They're very few people that could sit out of football for ten years. Go play baseball or some other sport and then go and play another position and like hold your own. I mean it's just he's not going to be not he shouldn't be out there but he is out there and he is out there because urban meyer really wants to give him a shot and that's why i think he might make it. I get what you said. And you're right about you. Don't want to lose the locker room by shooting not lehtonen soon. You players know when a guy doesn't deserve it right and if he's a business around like this just this. This ludicrous like dropping balls. He can't run patterns brett gardner to write as well but can't run patterns. You know what i'm saying like it's just a joke. Then you gotta let him walk okay. But if he's all you know okay he's not he's not gonna play but you know he's all right. He's as good as this guy. Or whatever see i think he could make because rob they could put him on special teams alien role on special to i. I think also meyer is trying to build a culture. This is not about just building a team for one year to win. Games chris to make him an assistant. Well but it's it's a little different to be a player and and this is enough. Because i don't know what he's looking but we know his whole reputation is great work ethic great spirit about him right. No i get it but but a lot of guys in. Nfl can't really play by the standards. We judge them by you know as far as being out there on the field as a starter and doing work but all those things that those intangibles that he brings to a locker room if urban meyer thinks he can do that then he could keep him on the team for that to help. Change the culture..

He's been on the podcast. I think once or twice and he does the laugh for site. he's He's a he's a comedian. He's also blind and he's got a charity for for to raise money for blind awareness. And it's a laugher said. I went Three years in a row. It's it's really an awesome time. But he is just fed up with the yankees says. I absolutely despise the entire twenty twenty one yankees team same here. It's absolutely unimaginable to me. That i could hate a yankees team this much. See the only way of fixing things is to not make the playoffs. Get rid of boone. He says the tone for the dead bunch. The entire philosophy of the organization needs to change. I do not think. Steinbrenner will fire cashman. But i think it needs to be done as the entire system needs a reset. You think the entire yankee system is broken. I have no doubt. The yankee system will f- up the martian. Look what they have done to. Every other player torres sanchez and do our other young players. That seem to have gotten worse over the past few years. He says go sox seriously. I don't mean that. But i think it's the only way to fix things kind of what we said in the first half of this episode. Is that just blowing up. Yeah start with the manager and see what you could do at least give us Some semblance of a season to refer the. Yeah it's not not not a majority of yankees fans feel the way. Brian feels in the way you have expressed you feel and how we feel or that. 'cause i still see so many fans on twitter and twitter's assessable but i see so many people still trusting the process and it baffles me. No there's no process to trust at this point. He's just gotta make a change man. I'll tell you what watching looking and seeing these Following some of the reporters are down there watching dominguez. All the time kid is lighted up already. You know in the in the in tampa where he is right. Now i will. You can't you can't not nothing's gonna happen this year. But i'm saying i'm saying he's an exciting player. He's living up to the bill. So far in the first org i Real ball that he's that he's played in like the kid. Looks like a a man amongst boys. I would not be surprised if the when you see a kid like that. Like a lot of times in in baseball the players also physically mature to get to a point where they can play these next levels right over the past two years. He's so far beyond the the his is physical ability that you should be at that at that age that there's no reason if he continues to just keep up them up and see what happens. There precedent for come up in thirteen twenty sewed bryce harper. These players were nineteen years old when they were playing well in the major leagues. So i think jason dominguez is what eighteen years old this year. Because i think he's seventeen. I think he's still seventeen. he's either seventeen or eighteen. He still think he. I think eighteen if he if he's eighteen just turned eighteen. Recently i believe either way seventeen or eighteen years there is eighteen. He turns his birthday february. He just turned eighteen this past february. Yeah so next spring training he will be nineteen years old. He should get a major league invite to spring training which will and then who knows maybe second half of the year he can if he rakes in aaa cole. No yeah i mean he may not even go to aaa aaa. You might go like to go. Those step-by-step well then then blitz. Let's hope that some Changes in the organization is overhauled..

And so now it's two to one and then the next batter as gleyber torres and he is going to knock in a run and so now we're tied up at two and then later in the inning. The bases are still loaded. And here's where it gets away from ohtani. Completely brett gardner would just stare at four straight balls for a walk at brings in iran and otani's night is over just like that doesn't get out of the first inning allowing seven runs. And then the skies would open five hours and two rain delays later the angels trailing eight to four aroldis chapman into closed the game with the bases loaded. It does not get closed. And if it's not you who's listening and you know someone Definitely pleasing courage them to reach out Got to be a diehard yankee fan. That's a that's a big qualification. Here we don't we don't on people that are not yankees fans part of this as part of the show w. win it. Yeah but did they would apply. Gotta be yankee fan. We will. if you're lying about being a yankee fan you will get found out very fast. That is not something you can slide. So as i said reach out to scott ni- on social or in email and we'll we'll hopefully get that going before the season starts. That's that's our goal is that During spring training will be hiring. This person working out all the kinks and get ready to go for for opening day. Any any last words you mention. Oh i got a question for you husky. How's it has been a dad gone when you get that straight dad strength. His dad's strength kickin when when needed an as needed as needed it. It shows up. It shows up in a moment when you're like oh i didn't realize that it's there you have. It just hasn't unlock it. You don't even you don't. Even you're over thinking this aaron boone at a press conference quit over thinking it. It's just gonna show up. It'll it'll be it's there. It's there when you need. It will either be activated. But it's kind of like one of those those horrible cliches that people say you when you're dating someone you're like no when you know so it's so annoying to hear when you're in that moment when people say that's you your shot up. I don't want to hear that but it's also extremely true z. Last episode you mentioned that you hope. I just pooped out a bunch. I have not been pooped on yet. As i mentioned. I've been on in since we last recorded. He's over the wall which was fun but Spin up man. There's just so much spit. I'm covered in spit up the shirt. I'm wearing right now. Has a huge spit. Upstate on it. Why didn't i wash it. Because the next showed i put on. We'll have spit up on it every single show. I have a nineteen shirts in the laundry. Ready ready to be washed. That'd be quick with that towel to the Shoulder so he's very. He gets very when he after eats he gets very. He moves so even though. I have the towel gases. Mover music ends up turning his head and spitting up this way or spitting up that way. It's like spits up everywhere except for him. I'm very happy to hear this continues. And i hope i hope projectile shitting next. I hope it. I hope it hits you score between the eyes. I am looking for during a story about you. Getting glasses covered in. That's not good for to protective I have protection is good. That's that's. I'm looking forward to that story because it's going to happen as far as being a dad i mean. He's so the only change from the first week Is that his is seem to be open more. Okay i i you know. He's certainly not alert at this point. He's a ten to twelve day old but it just seems like his eyes are a little bit more alert. Like when when the fifteen minutes of wake time hap- yes and then he's back to sleep except during the hours of seven pm to midnight cannot get him to sleep during those hours. Apparently the witching hour about well he does not like the witching hour Every other time angel. Try to put him to bed at two o'clock in the afternoon out like a light. Try and put it in bed at eleven o'clock at night screaming his ass. I saw someone on twitter talking about The like the market for kids stuff like that you could buy and until like just be careful of that whole market. There's so many products out there that you we have ninety percent of so it's so true though but there are so many unnecessary things that people are like. Oh they found a little niche. Let's make this for that when you can just use like the pda. Yeah i personally. So many games out there twice stall fall for him. Just just go with just remember back in the day. Nobody had that shit and everybody was fine. I know i think about that. But then i also think were people just uneducated about about certain things because like babies used to sleep with a bunch of blankets and stuffed animals in their crib and they would suffocate to death. We don't do that. It's that the stock good you know. But there are like very micro products. That are just completely unnecessary. They're all over the place. You have an example. I can't think of the not blocked them. All out of my head was a very good example of that. That i disagree because i i was talking to someone on twitter about the but i'll try and pull up who i was talking to but i think he's already. He's already peed on us twice two times in two weeks. If i'm getting one per week use out of the pptp. i think that's good value. I don't understand why you can't.

"Venezuelan and he he would go every time there was an another venezuelan player. In town for the norfolk tides. He would go to the To the field and start search open to him in spanish and then he would meet up with them he would help them out she would take them to different places. You'd have to get groceries to their apartments. You would take them He he was a bartender at a at a restaurant so he would give you know. Give them give them meals Just like help them navigate the wall. They were in town because a lot of these guys are just kind of thrown out there onto an island and don't speak english as tougher. These guys so My my guy. Bill would help them. He helped a lot of different guys When they when they would come to town usually young guys. That's that's where my jose. Lima story came from because he was one of the. It's sheds light on how shitty some of these minor league systems are and how they don't have people in place to do this for their like. These teams don't have teams. Don't a couple of guys to help these players out like they should. I don't yeah. I think some. Do i think that things have changed. I think that's why we're not gonna talk too much about it. but the The seattle mariners president who made the dumb comments about talking about the The the japanese player and translator. And you know talking about how he doesn't speak enough english often s- kinda like shitting on on people for not speaking english well and talking about the salaries of the translators. You there's there's. There's a different tone i think to some of the people when they're talking about that and i think some teams identify that these that it is. It is difficult to come to a another country to get into the Cultural habits of of a of a different a different area and then be traveling all the time. It's not easy at and these guys are very young and You know to usually be isolated. Just because they can't speak english well They need help. They need help. They need support And they should. The team should be making this support available readily available and not making a big deal of it because it's part of war when someone comes to your country and they don't know the culture they don't speak the language you should make them feel welcome. Should make them feel comfortable. So that they can acclimate into your world and new world of baseball which is just wild and travel is a ton and there's a lot expected of you. There's a lot of things happening So taking some of those little things. They're not little things. Communication is not a little thing but making them feel comfortable in that way goes goes goes far with with a person i think i saw thirty eight million of the three hundred forty million is going to go back to this big league advanced program so i mean texas is still getting hundreds of millions of dollars but it but it does just show how how much of that contract will be going to to this program. The reason we wanna talk about this is because teases one of these is kind of which he like the face of major league baseball last year towards the end of the he definitely the the slammed eggo padres were. Were a big deal and And they definitely rose rose up. The ranks of of public is plus. He's a fun baseball player. He's fun to watch. She has gone out on the field and he has no bones about that now. He's on the he's the cover of moby the show he's out there i think he's definitely one of the big ones and he's he certainly a fun player to watch. Yeah yeah so. He signed through this good for baseball. Thirty six. embrace two thousand and thirty six. That contract is up which doesn't sound like a real year but the question for the yankees is should they look at extending gleyber torres. To of the sense maybe not fourteen years but ten twelve year contract. Glacier is twenty four years old right now he turns twenty five december. So this is his twenty four year old season He is free agent eligible in two thousand twenty five because he's a super to arbitration guy. So he's got a bunch of more years of team control he will start to get pretty expensive in arbitration because those super two guys especially a guy like labor who's already made all star teams And all star team make to also whatever. He's made an all star team like he's going to start making big bucks in free in Arbitration would a. What would a contract look for for gleyber torres twelve year. That takes them to his age. Thirty six season would would extend labor Do you think that's a realistic possibility. Should they be exploring that. Yeah possibly aren't. This isn't something that they do but wouldn't surprise me if they were looking at a locking up a guy through arbitration yours. I mean that's essentially what you're doing you're paying for early arbitration yours. You're giving them more more cash essentially in the beginning than locking up long-term. It's it's a it's a financial security contract. These guys feel good. Teeth could go in and get another contract after this We even without the money going to big league advances making two hundred and eighty million dollars or whatever it is like he set for the ability to get contracts and it does. But i understand because i think i saw a tweet like why would you sign this contract if you're not junior at this point in your career because it's three hundred million dollars when someone puts a three hundred million dollar check in front of you. You don't say no it's difficult to say no to that especially understanding. It's not difficult. You don't say no you're never going to need more than three hundred million so understanding like the fact that you get that money sooner. There's opportunity costs for if you have a good financial advisor one million bucks this year. I'm just saying like you have a good financial how it's structured. Ucla the the thing is structured for disease for it's like one million five million eight million twelve million and then it goes up to thirty eight million would there's a bonus attach as well. They'll write something so the the the fact is there's opportunity costs as well once you get cash to do something with it and if you don't have that do anything with it if you could invest it and You know you don't need a lot of interest to to make to make significant gains on on a thirty million dollar Bankroll so there's cost associated with two and you have to look at that long term and how how does that. How does that affect you at the end of your career whether you get it now or you get it in four years. I forgot to mention..

"Of course he's gonna talk to the players. They cancel the press conference. Because you wanna do address. His his teammates. I because he was He was gonna hold the press. A press conference that he was going to get up and talk in front of reporters. There could be questions When pitchers catchers re reported but because the full squad wasn't there he wanted. They said the yankee said that he wanted the opportunity to address his entire team before that before he went out to To talk to the media you know we'll hear from him and and we'll see what's going on it's situation frontally this shitty but it seems like the yankees are trying to handle it as best they can. Do you know what the shitty thing is a lot of shitty thirty much. Lotta shitty things. Well this shitty thing for the reality of the situation from a baseball standpoint is it's depends on how he pitches and unfortunately that's what it seems like the yankees approaches. Let's see how he pitches if he pitches. Well we're going to deal with it because he's going to help us win and if he doesn't pitch well we're going to cut ties him. We're gonna move on. Unfortunately i wish it was. Here's the thing you usually get moving to get rid of that off the field stuff and you have a guy that's you know. Let's just say this is a guy coming in from injury in new hasn't pitched in a year and a half. It's going to be the same situation you know because if you guys coming back from injury has a year and a half and he has ten bad starts not gonna call. You might but i could see. I could really see that if he has a bad spring training and a bad first month of the season zero tolerance issue so bad starts also could affect the way that he's his temperament who knows like their source things that if pitching six innings every fifth time to the rotation. And he's singing cooma in the clubhouse. Then yeah it might not be an issue because he's in a good mood players good mood because he's performance the end of the day. He's fortunate with a lot of times with this in all sports. We see this in football all the time. These guys who have these these Domestic violence incidents or terrible incidents as long as they perform on the field. They keep getting second chance true. I mean it's the overwhelming motif of that is true like there's a through line there if it and unfortunately it's a if you're good at sports people look the other way for other things whether it's domestic violence drug use whatever it is people. Try to look the other way people try to cover it up. Sometimes you can stay on the field longer like that's happened multiple times in in in our american sports and In sports all over the world yes that is a thing It's an unfortunate thing but it is a reality. I think anything else. You want to mention about the the herrmann distraction i will. I will go. I would just be on record saying like this would be better. If he was not playing baseball. I think the yankees your would be a a much better move on there and and making sure but also staying involved with with him as a as a human being trying to you know address what he's doing and for all we know that's what was happening when he was now playing and this is just like the now that he's back after after making sure that they did everything possible to help the off the field situation but at the end of the day. I don't like him on the team. It's not it's not fun to watch him to play for the yankees at the end of the day. Yeah i wish they would cut and someone else will pick them up and he'll pitch for them. Maybe he'll be good and if he's good i don't care that's just a situation. I prefer to move on from if i were. If i was in charge of the yankees i would. I would move on from him. Good thing of the yankees. So that's not lot of a lot of situations that's a good thing. I'm not in charge but some things may be better if i was in charge. Yeah so a day or two after we recorded last fernando tatis signed his fourteen year three hundred forty million dollar contract extension. Which has some weird things. Because he's part of this thing called big-league advance which i did not know about. Did you know about this. Big league advanced prior to this contract. I had heard a little bit about it. But i didn't know the details of it. Yeah so it's essentially something that minor leaguers can participate in and they give you money while you're in the minor leagues in exchange for. If you sign a big money contract you're paying them percentages out on the end so they're basically investing in young players available to mostly. It's the article that i read. I think it was on yahoo. Sports said i believe it's available to everyone however it's most common in latin american players who are not educated financially and who are did not receive signing bonuses. Yeah i'm just sunday during the where the line is that were this. The advance is happening. Two guys that don't have a twenty five percent chance of getting into the major leagues and earning that contract or where at what point. Well no so these. These big league advanced basically. I think scouts players to see who might yeah. It's just hey off in the end it's dirty. Oh it's totally. It seems very baseball. Ish seems very dirty. What what's going on here but i could see how. In a lot of instances it could help players get money upfront. You come over from latin american country your dirt poor and you're not making good wages as minor leaguers. You're not you're staying in shitty. Should he motels. You're you're eating mcdonald's. Instead of real foods like ten twenty thirty grand could go a long way. If you're i had a buddy. When i was in college i played in an adult league. Buddy i.

"Someone needs to get to him and be like stop posting on instagram. That that you're done and that you're not done in that this. Thanks for being the post. Which i'm not even looking into the cryptic messages one There were translated tells me that tells me that he's not in a good place mentally. Look i'm not gonna speculate where he is mentally where where he's not. They obviously are making assessments. they are. They're identifying the player. The person not even a player the person as as being contrite being being You know in a place to make a real change and understand what the gravity of what happened. And if he doesn't understand that they feel any inkling of that that that is just not the case and that is not happening then they're going to cut ties like it just it can't be there. There's a lot. There's so much going on behind the scenes that it's impossible for us to speculate but that being said like if he is ties like does that help a situation at home. I don't know. I don't know how that helps affects anything but i. I hope that he is contrite. I hope that he understands it. you know what what went on is completely completely unacceptable. And is there's zero tolerance for any of that not whether you're employed by the yankees whether you're you know employed at mcdonald's whether you're employed self-employed whether you're applying it doesn't matter who your employer is. There's a zero tolerance for any of that as a human being. So you better be contrite. Understand what that is and and be ready to move past it and be a better person For yourself and your family. So it's it's it's a touchy subject for. I think a lot of people talk about because it's Were watching baseball team. Or we root for the new york yankees that we've rooted for all the time for the laundry. Did new york yankees. The players are in and out But it's really difficult to refer a guy Like this that that has this this history and just hearing all the graphic nature of it again doesn't justify any doesn't doesn't make one worse than the other doesn't make it like we dismissed it before it's not the case just when you hear it hits a little different. Our friend clive who bp crewmember. He's been to some events he's he's uk guy who i mean. I've talked to him about how he's been up till like four o'clock in the morning. Watch watching some of these baseball games. So he's he's a true die hard he says with the recent comments for four zach britton re in regards to our mon- which i totally agree with by the way. Do you think having on that could be harmful to the clubhouse. Chemistry especially zacks opinion is echoed by others in the clubhouse and the clubhouse chemistry thing is interesting because chapman has been on the team for years and he also has a domestic violence issue in his past has that negatively affected clubhouse chemistry. Doesn't seem like it has so. Why then would her mom. I is there hold. Let me finish. Is there a double standard when it comes to some of these things where unfortunately because we're all. The chapman is one of the best relief pitchers in the game. It's kind of overlooked. No i don't think he's doing her miles with giving her mind is like trying to work his way into an established major league starter. It's easier to move on from distractions like that than it is. Move on from this chat. No i don. I don't think that's the case. I think that situations were a little different. I think that Chapman wasn't on the team. There were he's a. He came in at a different way. Her mom has been on this. But there's a lot on the yankees. Because i think there's a lot more personal relationships here with hurt with her mind As well so. I think the guys to stay had a different type of relationship with him so i think it just it. It's a different chemistry thing now because there were there. Were friendships ahead of this. There were deeper ties with organization. That was here for a little bit longer. So i don. I don't know it's really hard for for anybody. I compare any situation with one another. They're different in. The people are different. The one is. They're both bad. So it's it's it's shitty thing that we have to talk about these two bad situations and how it's affecting a baseball team couldn't affect hemisphere hell. Yeah could affect chemistry because someone already has. I don't know if it has to a point where it's affecting the core team chemistry but it could. It could absolutely be you. Could you could see guys choosing sides. You could see zach. Britton clearly does not agree with having during a hormone on the team right. Yes so. I i don't know so even if it's one out of twenty six it's it's one. It's one but again the. I don't know if that affects. You think he's the only one who looks at her mind instead. I these guys doing. Why the hell is that guy here. Get him out of this clubhouse because what in two thousand nineteen when the ship was going on what if other players in the yankees club has heard about oh so and so and his wife had to go over to dinner hormones Apartment last night because he was drunk and trying to hit his his girlfriend. And it's like you hear about that happened again happened again. Meanwhile the guys go out there. And he's pitching well but you look at that as surprised me wouldn't be surprised if that did happen if that wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly how it went down. So if you're aaron judge or if you're brett gardner or if you are who else was on. The pitching staff specifically at that was britain on the pitching staff in two thousand nineteen the point. The point of the matter is though is that the he came over. They are trying to in that in that case like it's very much rooted into the courthouse and it's a they're probably trying to handle it between between now i don't know i don't know man. This is all this is all too situational for made to really speculate about the problem. Here's the thing when you're talking about team chemistry you can. There's there's i think there are things where players could bottle stuff up whether you like someone or not no matter whatever. The situation is why you don't like them. There have been plenty of times where you've seen a clubhouse to do not like each other and they're good on the field. I think that can be bottled up. That said i think could affect the chemistry if if things were to continue to to play out and if he doesn't if he if he shows that he's not the right person like certain comments could could You don't get people off the hook. He spoke to teammates. I don't know nothing was said about wh- nothing has been reported about what was said. I doubt it will be. But i mean did. Did he wave a magic wand in that closed door meeting. i mean. I can't imagine that that fixed anything. Maybe it helped just because he's addressing it because dot addressing it becomes more of its struck..

"I mean he might tuchman can and and and i think mytalk men at this point in his career Probably should get more playing time than brett gardner. But he won't well. That's i don't care about that. I mean if you care about that you're worried about way too many things because so mytalk. There's the photo you're saying. Mytalk minutes the fourth outfielder. He's not brett gardner. Whatever you flip them around depends yeah. Yeah and then. If jay bruce is there i guess you'd be the sixth outfielder behind talk man but he's also a backup first baseman. And then you've got john. Carlos stanton who didn't play any games in the outfield last year. But boone said it's not out of the question if he could play the outfield. This year i put out a twitter poll yesterday or two days ago. How many games do you think stanton will play in the outfield. This year. What would you put the over under at if i put the over under at nineteen and a half games. Are you taking the over the under for this season of stand in the out. Are we talking about like starting a game or just like getting in the game in the ended outfield. Starting a game starting again starting a game in the outfield nineteen and a half well under well. I am too as you were like five. So what's even the point that if you're if you're if you're gonna put him out there what's the point of putting them out there for five games either have them out there for forty five fifty five games or don't have them. I think it's more about the fact that just make you know making sure that he's able to be out there if needed. That's all i think. Five five times over the course of one hundred sixty game. Maybe that's a little and also because that's just a recipe for injury you have to keep him regular and if he's gonna play. The outfield needs to play the outfield. Like twice a week to just at least keep it keep it. Keep the reps. There was the guy doesn't pull another with the With the da spot. They they wanted to have a a decent rotation in there. I mean stand is the da. She's the starting designated hitter for the new york yankees. Nobody's question at but the fact that you know giving them more flexibility to be in the outfield this fine jay bursts. That's where cj bruce to me can fill a lot of spot here. He a tough right handed pitcher he could slot in at first he could slot in at d. h. He could potentially be any outfield. You have options now to stack as many of these As many left ended bats as you possibly can get in there. So i think he does give you more flexibility ford. I don't see as a guy. That has a spot on this team. Unless jay bruce shits the bed and just Is is nothing against. i think he's just gotta prove the fact that he wanted to be a defense. He's only thirty three. I think we talked about this last time. I was surprised. When i saw the how old you i definitely thought he was way. Older than thirty. Three feels jay. Bruce upper house forever came up at twenty years old. Yeah but i think that his flexibility defensively is is a big reason why he will be on this. Roster and greg allen was defeated. So good no greg allen i just think i don't see appoint playing a handful of times in the outfield because that's not really a another outfielder. That's just a guy who burns sessions and one of them came up about stan being the and he's like yeah. You need to get some time in the field. I don't think he will. Boone sang out of the question is no. That's that's a basically him covering at his ass. Just in case everyone goes down and stay and has to play the deficit. That's what i'm talking about. What is out of. The question is starting in the outfield. Once or twice a week. I don't see that happening. It's a shame. Because i think i i don't think stands putting him. If you have everybody healthy why is it a shame. No it's just. It's a shame that this is. What has this player has become. I mean i think more also to the point of with the roster construction. I mean you have a starting left fielder. You have a starting center fielder and you have starting rightfielder if if stanton is on the team as well that would be a fourth starter that would need to be placed. Where another guy already there. So you're taking somebody out of the lineup or you're putting them at the h. He's clearly i would rather him. Where's where's he valuable the most valuable by far the play offensively. Yeah yeah. But i think i mean maybe is there a scenario where he plays sixty games in the outfield. He could help. Keep judge a little healthier because judge only has to play one hundred in the outfield. I don't think too. I don't think necessarily the the length of time is with why judge injured. I think it's just like i don't think it matters. If he were to sit for three days. And then. I wear and tear that we heard about that. That really harsh tampa turf remember. That was just can't play four games on tampa turf suicidal mood. It's basically playing okay. So if you're going to if you're playing a four game series in toronto which is basically cement wouldn't be nice if stanton buffalo wherever they're playing. Are they playing in buffalo again. I think so. I don't think you think don't think letting american backing candidate anymore. They're playing they're playing. They're playing in tampa. Okay and ahmet. That terrible just looks like all the pigment has been sucked out of the trump. There's the terrible turf four-game series over the weekend wraparound series. Wouldn't it be nice if and could play twice and judge could play toys. You alternate them so you could save their legs. A little bit throwback gardiner other can me thirty seven year old. Getting let him let him run the cartilage out of business. So i just i mean. This is a this outfield depth. Chart is only good until the first guy goes down. And i expect the first guy to go down any minute because that's how the yankees has been since two thousand eighteen. Everyone's just getting injured. But but i think that. I think that gartner is since he's back in. His name is brett gardner. Their significant time to be had for him. Just because that's how it's been for the last three years and i don't see that changing awesome. It's been like that his career. I mean he's he's he's got. Maybe i mean that's it is i. I the only thing that i will say this as a last comment about brett gardner playing one. I'm as a when you look the rousers baseball player. And you're looking at the the way that the To to put the best product of the team shaken out As of last week the week before to me it was pretty clear. That brett gardner is coming back on this team. The beginning of the off season if they had gone to a couple of different ways. I don't think he have had a spot here but he's here. I just hope that it doesn't take away from clint frazier being the left fielder that that's it. That's it gets annoying. Otherwise than i am very happy that he's on this team a very happy that he's in the in the dugout clubhouse because i do believe i'm one that believes veteran. Presence mixed in with young guys is an important factor an important part of the recipe for a championship. Team like you. You need that you absolutely do for the times. That are tight. You need those guys to to settle your guys. I'd like to me..
