"brett favre" Discussed on The MMQB Podcast with Peter King

"Mississippi and sat with them for three quarters of an hour going over his career his hopes his fears about what will happen to him mentally from taking a career not only in the NFL but in college and high school football which he brought up and what will end up happening to him in his later years his birthday is this week Thursday October ten and I he's probably a little bit more fearful as he says in his podcast about mentally how he will be as he turns fifty than he was thirty or thirty five it's a extended conversation I think you'll enjoy it but first before we get too far I'd like to spend a minute or two talking about the NFL franchise in Washington and the events of this week where our Washington President Bruce Allin owner Daniel Snyder met with coach Jay Gruden on Monday morning and decided to fire him that was pretty much a natural Jay gruden is fourteen games under five hundred in his six years as coach had enough time to turn this program around didn't do it no one I'll never say well boy he really deserved to be fired but if anybody it could be I mean everybody could see this coming and again I don't like to see anybody lose his or her job but that's what you sign up for in the NFL have to win and Jay Gruden one in eleven I believe in his last twelve game just didn't win enough but I think this is more about the organization than it is about the person and who led them there has been significant discussion in the last few weeks especially with the story in The Washington Post last week that Dwayne Haskins the first round draft pick of Washington in April a quarterback from Ohio state was the choice of the owner Daniel Snyder and at the choice of the head coach Jay Gruden and that just leads me to to think that in the two decades Daniel Snyder has owned this team he has stuck his nose into the business the football business of this team far far who much in latter years he has left much of the team business football business to his quote football people end quote and they still haven't won and again I am not one of those people who believes that that people ought to be fired willy nilly but in the NFL it's a mirror talk recy- Bruce Allen has not done a good enough job to deserve keeping his position as team president Daniel Snyder absolutely unequivocally if he truly loves this franchise in Washington he should sell it he should sell it somebody who will leave the football business alone sit in the back of the room on draft day enjoy the process and not tell people oh football who to pick quarterback that's number one number two I think that because it still one of thirty two jobs in the NFL okay good head coach they will not get one of the dregs I believe that whether it be there will be a good list of candidates whether it be let's say Eric B enemy offensive coordinator at the chiefs Josh mcdaniels of New England I don't think mcdaniels would go there but eric enemy wants to the head coach if he's got five offers in January I doubt he would take Washington if he's got one my feeling is he'd probably take Washington so I think that but I think immediately of this franchise needs to get a football czar who is widely respected throughout the NFL. If Daniel Snyder and the powers that be decide that's Doug Williams give the job to Doug Williams let him make all of those decisions but at this point there's just too much interference and there's too poor a record in recent years to continue on this path that Washington right now is traveling I'll end with this I find and it absolutely well outrageous is not the wrong word but wrongheaded and a stupid business move that washing tin in August did not entertain the thought of trading it's left tackle Trent Williams now Trent Williams in the previous four years had missed fifteen games would injury he's thirty one years old as you saw by what happened with the Houston Texans trading a ransom in order to get a good left tackle and Laremy Tunsil believe me Houston coach Bill O'Brien wanted Trent Williams but it was clear that Washington was not going to entertain any offers return Williams in my opinion if I were Washington if I were Bruce L. and I would have taken a one in late August for Trent Williams which surely they could have gotten from Houston could they get a one now I doubt it I doubt it sincerely for thirty one year old left tackle who's fifteen games in four years to be able to get a won't a one would be bonus and I just think it at this point this shows why in the World Bruce Allen did not take advantage of a situation where there was a hungry market for Trent it wasn't just Washington there were other wasn't just Houston rather there were other teams interested this just shows where this franchises right now doubt that Trent Williams is going to show up if he does show up and play the rest of this year in my opinion what goodwill that due to a team that's going to finish three and thirteen and probably probably will not have him in two thousand twenty it's Foolish Gambit by this organization which has had many of those in the last several years now let's get to our my conversation in August in summer all Mississippi at the home of Brett Farve now you may notice during the conversation that you might hear some thunder there is a huge Mississippi the thunder storm on this about ninety five degree afternoon so don't be frightened it's some interesting background noise we know if the if you'll be able to hear it I can hear it when I listened back to the recording but anyway hope you enjoy it here is my conversation with Brett Farve reporting from outside Hattiesburg Mississippi it's pouring rain outside and I'm sitting in Brett Farve house and I thought that on the occasion of his fiftieth birthday which is coming up here very soon on October tenth that we would come down in record a little bit of retrospective on the life and times of Brit Lorenzo farve how you doing and sounds like a best seller it's no it sounds like a precursor funeral that's what it is I wasn't thinking that you always bring right news I yeah yeah yeah it's good to see you too so I I just I'm so happy to be here because I we I covered you allot when you're a player and we had a lot of interesting moments but I think the moments that I remember most are you fall asleep in my house daily socks on I I did fall asleep in your house and I did have holes in my socks but I don't remember what movie was on at the time I will guess and say smoking the bandit son Lover I was wrong Oh yeah you were wrong but anyway so the deal is football coverage used to be a little bit simpler in those days and in those days players and reporters probably knew each other a little bit better and talked a little bit more openly than they do but I also and that was in the late eighties nineties going in but I also think that what the difference is is that you were just a different person you you know you could have a conversation for an hour about anything Billy Bob Thornton Sling Blade You know what you were having trouble within your golf swing what you saw on the National Geographic special last night with Boyd Matson and the incredible diversity of opinion you didn't normally like to watch football games on TV you didn't really like regular television he kinda thought it was all a waste of time but and so you had a lot of interest in for a guy who's from small towns is a sippy you would think would have very fixed interests and you had Jillian of them how do you think that ever happened question I don't think I was like that as a kid I think I was like most kids in Small Town Mississippi kind of entrenched in I say Cownie you know being all League Baseball all you know that was your big goal yeah I mean yeah I don't remember as a kid I what I do remember I guess more than anything is my goals were set hi there were limited goals but they were they were high and they were too I was GonNa play Pro Baseball Major League Baseball or NFL football and there was no third now I went to to college obviously play football at southern miss but I was as a backup plan I was going to be a teacher and a coach because that's what my mother and father did but again my goals were you're either major league baseball or football you know growing up it wasn't like we were exposed and I think our generation and include you in this Peter we grew up with three channels maybe right we didn't grow up with you WANNA watch it we have it on TV we were very limited so you're not exposed to a lot of stuff there was not social media people actually read the paper so I say all that because I I sorta blossomed in a good way in some respects it's an and not so good and others but but like you said you know you wouldn't have guessed it at twelve years old that I would be I don't want to say this brag but diversified in my thoughts and right you know I opened up I hated get an getting in front of people to talk I but I but I felt at home on the football field in front of thousands of people I was never in politics growing up didn't really care one way or the other I'll just focused on one thing and that was baseball football and and that was it I think a lot of people would be really interested now in kind of how you're doing we always thought that at some point in your life you would probably feel some of the things that you played through you know and you said something very telling I remember just before you went into Rehab in you know early in your career when you had your vicodin problem and he said that you know a lot of people would always say that they wanted to be you and how great it would be to be Brett farve and you said to me that well a lot of people would like to be Brett farve but if he felt the way I felt a lot of the time I don't think you'd like to be Brett farve no matter how big the rewards are and so you became almost as famous for how much you went through to play as how great you played so at this point you wake up in the morning quite literally right now what hurts my neck is killing me yeah now maybe I slept you know I don't know maybe maybe the pillow wasn't right or something I don't know but for the most part prior to waking up this morning my neck hurting like crazy and I have no molly explanation would be fifteen hundred sex at some point going to start showing how many times are we is that college and pro I don't know but I think I have the record for at one time I had every record Dan Bat this is one that's really I look at is almost laughable at least at this point my my life most time sacked yeah be yet some some of the records I have you have to play a very very long time to yeah to accumulate but I feel good I'm often asked the Phil normal and I really don't know what we'll fill like any any fifty year old they've got complaints and quite frankly normal L. as opposed to what twenty one well let's say what what about your ankles and feet which got they would terrible hide and seek because you would hear me come in ah crack creek and not so much hurt and like I tell people I'm able to thundering by the way yeah that's not sound effects this podcast is for real yeah but I tell people all the time that you I'm able to do what I.

"Central today. This is Dan Patrick got a great weekend. Everybody Gang Song here ready to go fully assembled Paulie back after a couple of days obviously noticing the job that fritzy did as the fill in senior executive producer of this this program fritzy back to being a booker and we're glad to have you back pauling. Thank you best and worst of the weekends. We always do what you saw that you like to didn't like. We'll get to your your phone calls. Emails tweets Brett Farve is going to join us on the program about fifteen minutes. We'll talk to David car of the NFL network and the Patriots Star linebacker Kyle elven noise after the Patriots win in Buffalo Eight seven seven three DP show email address DP Dan Patrick dot COM our twitter handle at DP. He shall bengals steelers coming up tonight dent out. How would we promote that. Let's say we worked at the mothership. Ship in your job was teases and bumps and you had to promote this game Mason Rudolph Andy Dalton. This one has to be decent tonight steelers Bengals I would say somebody asked to win but that's not the case you can have satire in the NFL but it's the bengals and the steelers tonight mclovin have a poll question for me. Okay let's start out. This is from poly the most confusing team or the team the most confused me in the NFL choices start our the buccaneers pretty hard to beat off the top. Now the Oakland raiders the Atlanta Falcons how about the I don't know if they're confusing or I don't know what to make of and the Detroit lions they just unlucky or are they confusing their competitive but if feels like they find a way to lose then the entire. AFC South Tennessee Houston. It's it's tough to see south. It really is that Texans game was take time off to watch and Tennessee one it just it feels like somebody has to win that you know somebody asked to win that division. I don't know who's winning it but somebody will win and you'll go all right. They'll lose in the first round the losing the wildcard game or you know that first weekend nine and seven feels feels like somebody's destined for but the buccaneers go figure you have a heartbreaking loss at home and then you go on the road against the NFC Champs and oh by by the way. I believe that they were the last team in the NFL the only current NFL franchise that had never scored at least fifty points points a game the previous high was forty eight and of course we expect them to go into the coliseum against the rams. If I would have said Jared Goff is going to throw for over five hundred yards. You would have said all they're going to crush the Tampa Bay buccaneers Tampa Bay Jameis Winston. They did what they needed to do and they set a franchise record for points fifty five to forty yesterday. I I have no idea James Winston is any good. I don't Marcus Mariota. I have no idea if he's any good James is up and down and then you go okay. Let's say you ran the the buccaneers and you ran the titans. Would you be extending either. One of those quarterback which quarterback is more likely to get a long term deal. I don't know if you want a franchise them. But do you need an extra year to figure out if you know what you have with these guys. I mean that might be the case. I mean imagine if Tennessee would win the division and you're still not sure of Marcus. Mariota is a long term solution at quarterback or if Tampa is competitive palliative stays competitive in that division is James Winston a long term solution. There will figure out our poll question here. The baseball is set for the postseason and managers fired clin hurdles been fired. Joel Madden got fired. He delivered Chicago. Its First World Championship in over one hundred years but that was is such a long time ago. That was all the way back in two thousand sixteen apparently three years of not winning. A title is too long of weight. You know it's like Boston. You finally win one and then all of a sudden couple years later. I think I think Terry Francona lost control of this team. Welcome to professional sports in two thousand nineteen nineteen where goodwill does not last very long coaches have always gotten fired but it sure feels like that pace has picked up a little bit remember when Bobby Cox stayed in Atlanta Atlanta for thirty years and Tommy Lasorda with the dodgers now teams a little more impatient than ever in the cubs. They regressed the last two seasons. Theo Epstein the GM said it was time to shake things up and they've underperformed and of course you can't fire the team so you fire the manager traditionally. It's been a franchise that had a a lot of bad luck but leading the manager who helped them win. A championship. Go seems like a big risk but it's one. We've come to expect in today's sports landscape escape. It almost feels like if you get to four years like Jim. harbaugh Jim Harbaugh. I think is an unchartered territory with Michigan now. That doesn't mean he's going. GonNa last much longer but you get to three or four years. It's either the school gets nervous. The team gets nervous or the coach gets nervous and then decides to seek riches elsewhere or you need to bring in somebody else yeah point and you. If you get a title you think oh I got a hall pass for years and Years Remember Gene Chizik Down Auburn. GotTa title couple years later and let's move on. Let's get a new coach. It only gets a couple. Maybe an extra year of averageness feels like you know even after these landmark wins with Boston with the red sox and then with the Chicago cubs like okay. You're good I mean Joe. Madden is still good manager. I I mean he's a legend. They probably have a statute that they'll put up outside of Wrigley. If there's a Mike ditka baseball in Chicago it certainly Joel Madden mm-hmm. Yes mclovin I mean I hate to bring up the sabermetrics card the theory that the GM does everything in the managers are replaceable. It's just sorta seems like that's what's happening then. Why isn't Theo uh-huh Epstein fired. Well is just sort of saying Theo sake well. I built the champion I can rebuild this. The manager is not really that important. I mean it feels like I think Theo's IOS reshaping the so. It's going to be his title not mad okay. How about this. How about you get different players but keep the manager the manager one for you. Well you know manager manager underperform. I have no idea what do you I mean I have no idea it felt like this before. That's why when you said Joel Madden got fired. I I forget who sent out the tax for its year Paul. That's not not surprising there. Yes mclovin phillies need a manager likely would job be the right guy for that. I I don't know what but based on what or Joe Girardi. I can't tell if they could turn around how long how long has been there year to. Maybe Oh my God that's forever. Did you see where the padres fired their manager and I didn't even know when I saw the headline I went. Oh let me see the padres manager is I. I did not know who the padres manager was. Is it Andy Green or somebody yeah yeah. I think so I went Oh. I just got to know him and he just just got fired. This program brought to you by dollar. I don't know where that that's just based on one sound byte that we heard one time. I think that was your twelve years on that. One course course whose whose quarterback impersonation is better fritzy. Patrick mahomes close Koelner where we beat the lions or Seaton's with or police with Andrew Luck. I would say pauline todd much better impressions luck Best Luck. It's great what is luck been doing down to just that. I've run out of material Andrew Luck because he doesn't play Baltimore aw aw or kind of APP for children reading at Hogle Cardinal by the way. I got one okay Daniel Jones Ready Hi. My Name's name's Daniel Jones at quarterback same.

"I have no idea could be who knows what it's about but it was enough for mike to basically tell john this is not happening could happen in front of gruden. I have no idea but john we're not gonna have this here in the first year of us and i i know how valuable he is. That's why you wanted him. That's why we agreed to get them. That's why i worked this deal out with drew rosenhaus and that's why we dealt with the helmet stuff. That's why you were on his side. That's why you were talking to him about. Being a you know a raider and you come to me with anything thing. It's all about football. That's why we did that but this will not stand knock on wood. If you're with me. This is insane so schefter says now that the fine letter being put on instagram led led to the exchange so it was related to to this got it and so that means what monday night he won't be how long can suspend it. I don't think you could i don't know how along if i gotta i gotta figure this out that keyshawn rule right that it's he can't be in more than a certain number games that you could just conduct detrimental all sit somebody down and then how will you handle at i'll tell you this. That's a lotta money that he's gotten from the raiders that not a single soul will pay him based off of the way that he has reacted over the last few months to lead to. This is absurdly talented. I said it yesterday day when zeke elliott got paid his money despite being one infraction away from losing. It seems an entire season the work. Antonio brown is as good as there is. He is absurdly talented but there is apparently a bright silver silver and black line that may occ- laying down or a situation that he's willing to overlook on behalf of the team gruden in an he he also knows that the kid is great in balls out. I should say use the word kid. I mean he's a thirty year old man using the phraseology that may i always had for draft coverage but but this grown ass man if he balls out we we're a much better team. I have no idea what happened but for for this to come out now all my word t._j. Took them and fantasy for how much forty four dollars and a in an auction thirty thirty to all business ain't be booming over there. <hes> vic victim of tayfur covers the team for the athletic said ed. Antonio brown had to be held back by a couple of teammates. Mike's a big man he has played baseball and he's not backing down anybody in. This is his first general magic opportune. He's not gonna have this blown up. There's a reason why antonio brown was available and and if you hear this hold on if we can pause maybe we'll hear it. I know we're our our studio is sealed and we all have earpieces earpieces in that that that block out some noise but if we could just hold on a second that is the sound of every steeler fan cackling. Oh like walking phoenix in the joker nick here it all away from leicester v._a. Tackling as big ben gets set to throw to juju smith schuster enhanced james connor and that's the sound you hear his well hold him. "Hey look. Let's circle this one folks. This is pretty big to everybody around here. Did you then become that kind of yes. I did do that as well as others. <hes> you know when when barely was getting close <hes> you so you know i i would much like the play offs and veteran <hes> blair's won't say that to the younger group <hes> when approaching the play offs. It's much different game the the you know. The speed is is is greater and all that i guess to a certain extent is true but from a rivalry standpoint point it was <hes> <hes> unmatched by by any other so you kind of heightened awareness for for the young me. It just was like like i say a practice you come out barely and it was like it was like the first day of practice ever you. Are you running around you. Were you were fired up where you're excited about. <hes> whatever the game plan was and <hes> i it just kinda you know heightened an overly heightened sense of <hes> excitement excitement than than any other way a couple more minutes with brett farve definitely this one you know this opens the the entire season and the a hundred year <hes> you know me so this brings even more of a special meaning doesn't it though i mean doesn't it though i did you ever bark dicko or him back at. You got a good story like that from his rivalry. I was always afraid of you know. I it sixty five. He kicked my ass and and he probably would have so you know. There's some that you don't provoke. Yes worn out was one was met. You might was one of course <hes> mike it was it was he even has retired and older age. You did not provoke him bed. I bet hey there's gonna be a lot of reminiscing racing. <hes> brett here in the n._f._l. One hundred season in so many moments that you have provided i gotta ask you to pick one if you could pick one say this the one i'm going to give to n._f._l. Films one. I'm gonna give to n._f._l. Network this is the one i'm going to give to everybody. That's talking about memories from my career the thing that i want people people to remember that i did i know again. You're a team guy but your moment would-be what in this n._f._l. One hundred season brett farve in regards to this this rivalry no overall your entire career. They put you in canton. Oh boy that's a tough when i when i would have to go with the game which i play you know. After my father died <hes> just because of the you know the circumstances and and really there there was only one one just one option really for me implying in that game and that was to play better than i'd ever played in my life and and i was able to achieve that in honor my father <hes> which was my only goal in that game was amazing. I mean <hes> <hes>. Are you aware again before. I let you go back to your golf game. Are you aware of of the people you touched on that night at all you know yes yes and no <hes> i i know people still talk about it in amman or that they do obviously i wish the circumstances were much different but but i <hes> <hes> i'm extremely grateful for the outpouring of <hes> of compassion that that they're just fans in general whether you're a fan of mine for the packers or like in that case that night oakland raider fans when the my name was called out gave me a standing ovation and i've said this whole thing speech they don't do that for anyone awa- and to honor me in my father that way was uh was very special and the last time last one for hebron last last time you gotta call to kick the tires on whether you'd wanna play football again. When was the last time that happened. Oh i'm gonna say probably eight years years ago seven years ago no kidding i. I guess i'm you know i'm a little too great now. Do you remember which team it was..

"I need to see what the bears looked like before on their train and the same thing with the packers the same thing with the packers the whole concept except audibly aaron rodgers. You're going to have the freedom to do that and it seems like what matlock floor's going to give him. The freedom to do is choose between two plays that leflore picks as he heads the line. How will that work in an offense. That's totally new for aaron rodgers at age thirty five total new trips for him new verbiage knew everything we'll take some time who is going to catch the ball other than atoms can jimmy graham come off of the milk carton in the n._f._l. But david johnson's been on for just one year. He's been on it for several and defensively. What does this team look like. It is totally all the chess pieces up in the air and they start to land tonight on n._b._c. Say that you're thirty two team rundown right there. What's our poll question of their chris brockman. We got we got a hall hall of fame running back coming in studio with her terrell davis we do zeke elliot declared himself the best running back in the n._f._l. Who's the best running back in the national football league as we get started to night saquon barkley ezekiel elliott alvin kamara christian mccaffrey at richeisenshow vote right now okay. Let's take a break because i think brett farve is somewhere. I think making the turn so we'll call back. We'll call number four. Hopefully he'll <hes> he'll put down his. "Everybody thought he dropped remember when he dropped to the second round because everybody thought isn't he was gonna give he's got a second contract. He's healthy jalen ramsey. He's got a chip on his shoulder. He's in a walker to it seems what's going on with him and then there's the a._f._c. west. The chiefs are coming into believe that town in <hes> in the desert nevada believes that the chiefs are the super bowl favorites. I think mahomes wins back to back m._v._p. Awards which we haven't seen since peyton manning did at ten years ago. They've got it all going on offense. We all know the names defensively they've added tarin matthew in and the secondary and frank clark upfront. I think that is an upgrade. How will steve spagnuola coordinated all that's the difference maker to me 'cause offense. We know they're gonna score a ton of points more often than not. Let's see how the defense molds throughout this season eason los angeles chargers no melvin gordon no during james no russell oakland for the foreseeable future all philip rivers turning thirty eight in december how that all play out for this team coming off of a stellar year under anthony lynn we will check that out see how it all maps out right there denver. Joe flacco is you're starting quarterback vic fangio after forty years of coaching thirty two years in the n._f._l. Getting his first shot at being a head coach in the league. How in the world will that all look. I think the defense will look so much better. We had demarcus ware on yesterday saying that von miller is telling him he's doing things. He's not done before however what in the world is offense going to look like with philip ramsey. Fill it lindsey running the rock. We've got terrell davis in-studio later on and then oakland choose your your story line art. Choose it from antonio brown and helmet and what is he gonna look like and it's offense. How much of a chip does he have on his shoulder. Older willie blow it all up on his instagram. Account is derek carr. The quarterback of the future will be will. He be the guy going to las vegas next year with this team. How will jon gruden kicked the tires derek carr now that he's got the protection upfront and trent brown met. Mike mayock at his first year as general manager has provided defensively. What is this team gonna look like. Can they actually make playoff run that so many people were expecting because we saw up close and personal on hard knocks all my gosh choose one for the oakland raiders and that's your a._f._c. over in the n._f._c. Let's set at the n._f._c. in the dallas. Cowboys zeke is is now paid what is going on with deck. Amari cooper is the man they have got it. All working whitten is back. They have got on defense kids who can run all over the lot they are. Maybe the best roster team in the n._f._l. You can make that argument all with the first a head coach with no contract after this year and jason gary the pressure is on dallas is a super bowl champion contender. We got it. "They have taken some of their best players and sent them. I'm all packing on the eve of the season. They're going to try their hardest for new head. Coach bryan floors from patriot staff. I understand that but it already looks like they're looking at twenty twenty and beyond on certainly a to a from alabama at the top of next year's draft in the matini think that's got the best chance to maybe dethrone the patriots and give them a little bit of a scare at the very released is the new york jets whose last division win was nineteen ninety eight who and bill belichick was their defensive coordinator for bill parcells dell's it's year two for sam darnold and year one for lebanon bell who says that he is got a monster chip on his shoulder and i cannot wait to see what he he looks like and the new york jets defense has jamal adams in the back end. They've got young dynamic players for adam gays and new head coach. I'm giving you the glass half full look for the jets season. We will see how it progresses. That's the a._f._c. east in the a._f._c. north. It's all about the cleveland browns so many people think the entire n._f._l. Season is about the cleveland browns. You've got baker mayfield and his first full year. You've got odell beckham now on this team. You've got nick chubb with his first full year of being the running back. Kareem hunt is waiting in the wings wings when suspension is over halfway through the season. You've got jarvis landry. You've got a defense that seems to have playmakers all over the lot but a first year head coach and freddie kitchens the hopes so high for the cleveland browns. We all could pretty much as n._f._l. Fans tell by heart no off the top of our head what their season arc storyline is coming into this year. You've also got a the pittsburgh steelers. Both they've missed postseasons in back to back years only three three times in the last twenty years..

It's a lot less obvious that's for sure but yeah totally for sure like there's the the reason that it's a white coat syndrome kizer nervous about the hygienist exactly so that was the only we never. I never got the sense that was awkward. Avenue female patient spent the two males okay ganging so so we've heard some horror stories our friend craig harder. I think has some stuff going on something like that. That's not great. I and i think still in the criminal justice system is nothing with crag with somebody that worked for greg and so we probably should double check with craig before probably when we edit this episode so that i you know i got. I hate to boil it down to that because it's such a weird time and like if you you man if you were to not hire somebody because i mean you can't not hire somebody because of their gender right right sort of and this is just a weird place because this is one of the few things that sort of predominantly one gender and we sort of imagined one gender being set like there's some great i gotta hate this word guy gymnasts. "Get old lady tennis shoes while they weren't on issues there in the ad though but i guess it must make branched out may dentist us now to let me let me just see here so easy spirit basketball heels sure the heels pumps yeah here you go nineteen thousand nine there his a it does look like there is a commercial of women playing basketball. Well and i don't know if these are heels are pumps. I don't know the difference between the tide on either then it became really like when reebok came out with a reebok pump. There was a double dribble right there and i it was a no call and this is ridiculous. Uh-huh the the lady in the in the in the purple dress absolutely double dribble then the ref didn't call it and i live at the officiating is horrendous. I've just lost seventy five dollars on that on that. I bet on that that game on the youtube. I just put in a quick bet in vegas lots of money over under and non call. I'm the limit the easy spirits. Maybe just you know i'd love to know what how empowering it feels like to to walk into opera tori. We just khaki slacks on christiaan lubaton and own it. I just really want to own it. Just tell me tomorrow after work. Let me know how went i will. I i feel like as as a sys gendered white male in his late thirties early forties that i feel like i just feel like i can't. I feel like i can't own it. You know that might be the thing probably helped me own it okay so i just i want to own it. It's okay. I don't know what it is but i want to own it. Well good luck. Here's here's my real answer. I'll tell you what i wear to work almost every single day okay so i have sort of a daily ritual and believe it or not as i'm looking for pictures. Teachers are brett farve penis. An ad for all birds pops up on the left screen. It's like the wrong to me. Oh yeah surprisingly these pictures seem to be sort of scrubbed from scrub from the the website entry anyway so i have a daily ritual i get up a little bit early and i go to the office office and i have a stand up desk in. I have a walking treadmill and i do all my admin stuff. I i walk on the treadmill. I like two and a half miles an hour so i'm not it's not like running. I'm not like fast walking or just walking in so if i don't wear like a nice pair of comfortable shoes like i'm gonna get you know calluses blisters and all that stuff so that would be unfortunate what i have found is are you familiar with cole haan said that strangely cole haan i am cole haan and has a line of tennis shoes or has a line of dress shoes called <hes> the zero grand and if they are wingtips <hes> <hes> wingtip oxford's that have almost kind of like a tennis shoe sole but it doesn't look like a tennis shoe soles so they look like normal dress shoes but they look like kind of cool modern dress shoes okay and they are super duper comfortable and i you know i'm gonna send you a link courtesy. You can see them but i really. I really think they're amazing shoes. I usually go through about a pair and a half a year her and they're a little bit more expensive than carl's brown grandpa shoes but i feel like they hold up pretty well there super comfortable and they look super professional fresh off their set a pairs of shoes that i did order after my all birds and my marino's i got a pair of kind of like like this except they're not leather on top. That's it's a fabric looks like wingtip but this fabric and has got the white soul underneath so it's very very similar to this on here. I'm a huge fan of these. I have several pairs in several colors. <hes> the kind of mesh ones that are sort of all fabric konta. Those are the ones that just got dumber great during the summer. They breathe a mother. If if you're gonna put your chat your your foot knee on the chest if somebody to take out a tooth so magin that flex best way yeah yeah of you wearing like a wooden dutch shoot like a dutch boy kinda shoe like that you know what your patients gonna look say because if they were to tell the next next dennis that and then he put his foot on my chest and he was wearing one of those dutch wooden shoes. There's no way any other dennis is ever going to believe that not at all no not at all. I still have my own pair. My last name is dutch. Timmerman is carpenter in dutch and they should be able to make your own lance yeah well. I should well. Unfortunately we did that. <hes> ancestry ancestry dot com. We spit in a tube and got our apparently. I got no dutch imi. My dad was really disappointed. I'm trying to find line that brett farr pick and it really shouldn't be doing. We'll put that in the show notes right. I've really just i see the crocks. That's really of course i just i see. I can't remember what color they were. Remember lime green rocks yeah. I think maybe the i think the jets at the time. What about i mean listen. We're there was also some discussion. <hes> on the funny shit group this week about out wearing stilettos women aren't celestis while they work in sort of the empowerment that they get from that. "Shoes because they are comfortable and look adequately professional but they break a little too quickly and at one hundred and forty four dollars a pair. I think they should last longer than they do. Lance what <hes> what kind of shoes do you wear to work all right. It's kind of funny this. This question should pop up 'cause just recently. I've been making some poorer life decisions in buying a lot of shoes through facebook. Look pop up ads really like white so and barron crowder brought it up the other day that like the algorithm knows me and because he brought up the one brand called these all all birds these wool she albert alberta great. Oh my god the most comfortable dan don't ever and as i was doing that then i'm merino one will shoo came up and so about one of them and so i've got different colors of shoes i got blue dark blue got the black. I got the charcoal grey. I'm a mess got to fucking shoes now. I feel like my wife is. She buys us all the time it see. I don't know the second one's but i do know aubert's and i do love those who by warsaw albert's to work on friday great use for work. What do you think alberto were about. One hundred bucks less than one hundred eighty eight hundred bucks ninety five bucks bucks and they came within. I want to say like within a week. I lace them up and it's nice. It's it's toasty warm but it breathes so that i don't have to worry about sweating. They're designed you could wear them without socks but i- which i am but i wouldn't do it fulltime because they're going to get smelly yeah yeah and i guest because i haven't had him long enough but i guess they're they're fabricated with machine washable in mind so i have not watched mine yet but uh-huh yeah they do say they could so <hes> right there i mean i think they look professional. They are comfortable and men. They're silent went silent but deadly apparently something like that <hes> carla enclosed picture we missile get this over to you because it's good of of of him holding his shoes and the only thing i can. The only way can described these brown. New balances are like my grandfather would look at these shoes and be like loser. That's all they. They are like they are if monty burns were to get some new balance shoes. This is what monty burns would get there the dick yeah. They're very orthopedic. Look at our new balanced. They do have an end logo on them but it's everything is sort of all in the same name color. They're just sort of tennis shoes. Brown tennis shoes that an old person would wear is the look that i get out of of it so. I don't think these are professional yeah. They don't fresh in a looking shoes. They don't look like wing tips or anything like that so much. Professional is the word i'd use but first off carl looks like david kenner. Do you knew david zoo i do he. He was just like david koch now that you say eah dead ringer it actually in fact i thought it was david <unk> holding up a pair of his grandfather shoes and i saw this. Everyone's feeling pretty good <hes> so good that that that you know there's some early lead times for for some people and i'm feeling fine so i decide to hook this bad boy up and it's about ten minutes of installation really need just like a phillips screwdriver. It's one hundred five degrees here so that's not such said to a big deal right now but i can see a day when that's going to be very nice <hes> and then just all of the other hygienic features but but it's left me with two conundrums lance and i want your help with both of them okay. I'm good with a conundrum conundrum. One okay when you use this uh-huh of equipment. No hands get used. Oh everything is taken care of for you so you guys can go research. That's what i mean by that but everything is taken care of for you. Oh so there's no hands in the equation so i don't need to worry about washing my hands. That's kind of my questions. It's like my whole entire life. It's been do that wash hands do that. Washing hands like i'm not literally touching anything but my belt click. That's it. There's nothing there's no end. There's no hands involved. You feel like you're cheating exhorted you. Do i still need to wash. My hands probably raleigh just for appearances because it's in my house. It's like in a public. This is our insulation public. You have guests over and they're in my bathroom. Well people you can eavesdrop someone just immediately act you sorta run the water few seconds yeah so i i mean i think like. I don't think you need to wash your hands anymore. It doesn't sound like it. It's pretty amazing. It's just a weird feeling it really. Brett Favre: 'Mike McCarthy is an excellent coach'

"Brett farve came out in support of Mike McCarthy this week. Oh. La pressure on Aaron Rodgers earned. Unlike him Brett says he is an excellent coach that might hurt. The I think Mike is is an excellent coach they have to win. And I think when and hurry or something may happen there earns playing outstanding. And really keeping them in games. Their defense is really at times looking really good opportunistic aggressive, but I don't see that. I see a lot of potential. I just think that they're underachieving little bit right now. Okay. Of course farve connects with Mike McCarthy, first of all the personalities old school. Little stubborn their cut from the same cloth. The other thing is McCarthy saved Forbes career Mike Sherman was a bad NFL coach Green Bay was four and twelve McCarthy came in and turned it around in two years. They went eight an eight and then went thirteen and three. So, of course, farve loves him. He read I'd love a boss to if he resurrected my career ours loves him. The second thing is never forget this McCarthy use. Used to be in San Francisco and his Greg Jennings. Told us the former Packer he didn't love Aaron Rodgers coming out of college. The thing about Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy that people miss sometimes who's the number one overall pick the year Aaron Rogers came out Alex Smith who was his offense coordinator, Mike McCarthy. And it would just be so random in Aaron we'll take a shot at Mike like, oh, yeah. Like how you picked Alex Smith. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So listen farve is gonna love McCarthy. Same personality cut from the same clause resurrected his career. And there's no question that Aaron Rodgers is a different dude. The McCarthy he inherits McCarthy McCarthy is farve guy and McCarthy wants passed on him. I I'm not a grudge holder. But I don't forget stuff, I forgive. And I don't forget about I'm not a grudge holder. But if Aaron Rodgers is like can come guy. He's right McCarthy's kind of afar of guy and so. Farve comes out and says I love Mike McCarthy. I totally get it completely absolutely explainable. I do think McCarthy and Rogers twelve years in time for divorce. There are always hear horror stories about bad divorces McCarthy will get under job, Aaron we get a more progressive offensive mind. It will all be good Aaron have after this year. Another good for years. I'll be last physically Khalil Mack twice a year. Biking's defense twice a year. But Aaron's going to have an ice for years after this year. They're not gonna make the playoffs this year.
