"Brett farb for quarterbacks but those are good things that have quickly just because football guy and and I respect somebody who takes a year off goes back to the drawing board trying to figure out the new trend the league is the least way different now than it was when he broke in the head coach back in the middle last of your the the odds that you will so I I I respect that that's fantastic so I'm I'm all on board I I was about real guy though I know you're all over this RJ choppy and and at the time you heard rumors about Lincoln Riley urban Meyer even that rule is that true that Jerry didn't want a college coach because I know it was painted that way when when they did hire McCarthy yeah that that's that's pretty sure we've heard the same thing you know that they don't they didn't believe that a college coach would be able to come in at sixty right away which is really odd because a lot the only Super Bowl Jerry Jones ever one is with the guy who came right out of college and Jimmy and very upset like that's what they got so they won titles with but they didn't want that and you know I think the way the game is trending to more offense more spread a college guys not of not a detriment anymore you know it's not like getting very slow to come running the wishbone run a pro style offense to me the pros are now one of the college style offense so I don't think it's that big of a job anymore as it used to be but I mean the track record of college coaches really probably isn't all that great so I can't kill Jerry for thinking that I just happen to disagree with that is Jim all items plan on your football team this year RJ choppy I would say no and the reason for that is again the salary cap they you we don't know what's going to do it now you have a guy who wants anywhere from I mean we've heard twenty million I that's what that much I think but if you say sixteen eighteen you're gonna give up a first round pick what's gonna be your cheap like cheap choir quality cheap wire for a guide to two first round picks in in in a couple years for essentially what would be a twenty million dollar receiver an eighteen million dollar state the when you have capital constraints because of the new the the pandemic I think it's bad debt management I don't think they meet the jets requirement the deal and and quite frankly admitted jets now they've got a two year old who captures so they'll have to move them to you've got a blow their doors away and they also know that in the under the new CBA you really can't hold out right I mean he can only hold out a handful of dates for those accrued season so they they they've kind of got him they got him really by the you know what the last one for RJ choppy I'm confident the cowboys offense is your defense I have no clue what to expect I think the cowboys are gonna win the NFC east this year what do you think the cowboys will do this year that's the kind of sex hello the schedule came out those sensex and and they were probably a ten win team last year they lost a couple games for coach gene for bad luck for miss field goals they probably should've won ten or eleven games last year if I win the NFC east are the people that I'm with you it's gonna be a feast or famine they want to force turnovers what did they have it that they want to push the envelope before start over so they're gonna take chances and we may see ten eleven twelve six more pics who knows we may see them get burned and that is the one danger for playing the style by them I don't want to play sometimes it works great and when they don't get the picture watch out well right it kind of takes a fair number R. J. the best brother thanks for the help I thought you all guys you gotta there's RJ choppy one of five through the fan in Dallas how bout that throwing out the idea that maybe Jason Garrett doesn't lose his job this pandemic hit in January compared to March here in the United States well that would not work over while the cowboys fans will break will come on back will debut a new segment next.

"Tested as it is now most people can get tested I had two friends get tested yesterday in the state of California which is a big state with forty million people let me start joy how are you by the way how are you I'm doing great you know sometimes it it people think I'm tough on Aaron Rodgers yeah and does so when I find opportunities to defend Aaron Rodgers I do because I know the perception is I'm really rough on Aaron Rodgers and I think he's a hall of Famer I'd vote for a first ballot he's great in fact I've said if you give me Aaron Rodgers and Brett farb I actually think you could have a slight edge the Aaron Rodgers over Brett farb although I do think there's some alpha with Brett farb I really like there are some countries of old school to Brett farb I really like I like his leadership qualities a little more than Aaron but Aaron doesn't make as many mistakes I I think if you're if you're if you're forced me to take one it would be not easy I I I pride take Aaron over far I'm not sure I'm right and I'm not sure people would agree with me but when I find opportunities to defend Aaron I do because people think I am really harsh on him so let me just say this Brett Farr said yesterday mentor Jordan love that's not Aaron Rodgers job job is not to mentor your love their job is to win football games with Green Bay Packers that's what he's paid to do and and that's what he's gonna do agreed Aaron Rodgers job is to win and anything that gets in the way of that is the enemy isn't that why we love the Michael Jordan documentary because you either wanted to win and if you're Isaiah Thomas or Scotty Burrell or Jerry Krause or if you've got in the way of winning we all like you well Aaron Rodgers is at the point in his career he's iconic not M. J. buddy's iconic if anything gets in the way of winning it should be Aaron Rodgers enemy I don't want to hear about how progressive he is and he's a great student mentor a teacher student relationship not interested win games I would always defend Aaron Rodgers professional athletes have tiny windows in which they can play it's a GM's job a coach's job a hitting coach job pitching coaches job an owner's job you develop your roster that's not Aaron Rodgers responsibility his responsibility is to win the NFC north that's his responsibility so I will defend Erin and Brett on that speaking of that I saw a story yesterday that the Washington Redskins joy had mentioned this earlier hardline they have no prime time games for the first time since nineteen eighty two and my first take away as they had won every year from eighty three until last year really how did it get on TV those years I wasn't watching a lot of lean years up there they don't have an interesting story line this year the most interesting story line is Alex Smith's leg secondly the Wayne Haskins growth and I don't think you know Alex I'm more interested right now they're doing Haskins but I I was sitting there I tend to like drama I tend to like new and I tend to like combustible enjoin I always say that there is a tire fire component we like drama it's fun dramas fun even though A. B. was kind of sad at the end the whole Steeler raider patriot thing for a while anyway was kind of interesting and so I was thinking this morning you can be bad and still be fascinating one of the things I'm shocked by is that the New England Patriots who could be good got five prime time games I don't find them compelling at all they don't have a star their best players a corner they don't have a single offensive player that gets me to a TV set the keel Harry's interesting the Arizona state receiver interesting not fascinating and so I thought I'd give you but just my list these I believe are the ten teams that will get me to a TV set these are the ten most interesting NFL teams for me to watch this year let's start with ten number ten I take Pittsburgh big bands coming back their offense lagged they've got a great defense it's a historic franchise and is J. Glaser pointed out a big band is not an offseason grinder guy and so I'm interested there's some drama here I am I'm predicting band isn't great the timing's not sensational and that they don't make the playoffs just the fact that I said that creates kind of an argument I believe it so I think their number ten number not a Russell Wilson Seahawks there's not a lot of drama they'll make the playoffs to make the playoffs every year but I do believe he's the best football player in the NFL the best total football player leader intelligence playmaking accuracy skill at his position and so Russell's always gonna make my top ten they have they were the fourth best rushing team last year I think they'll improve their they've upgraded their offense of line along much Greg Olsen as well from Carolina now to Seattle number eight I'm fascinated by Arizona in again because there's a little bit of a tire fire component here color is like a poor man's Russell Wilson that gave them the Andre Hopkins Steve Kimes a friend and my take away is Kliff Kingsbury we don't really know if it's gonna work I think Tyler's gonna work in Seoul I find them to be the dysfunctional Seattle then I got all I knew coach in a new quarterback it could be really exciting but unlike Seattle I know will make the playoffs Arizona could be foreign twelve or nine and seven I put them in a number seven I Jimmy drop below the forty Niners first Kyle Shanahan I think is the most creative offensive mind in football and I like watching I like watching offenses mines and I also think there's a Super Bowl hangover issue we just have history here that if you lose in the Super Bowl and lose like Atlanta or San Francisco or you appear to have the game one they can go off the tracks so I think there's a little drama here little drama with San Francisco number six Cincinnati Bengals classic bad team fascinating story here comes time Joe Berlin here comes wide receiver tee Higgins in a tough division and everybody's telling me he's the savior and I'm just telling you Joe burrows a very good prospect that he's not great he's not Andrew luck he can't win a division and get to the AFC championship with a crappy old line and AGM that her to give it a coat that is in the future so I think Cincinnati's bad team average to below average roster but fascinating because I think Joe burrow is good not as good as everybody else thanks and maybe I'm selfishly I just want to watch because the grease fire component number five the jets if Adam gase doesn't when he's gone a Sam Darnold finally although they're very young has it at what appears to be a competent group of offensive lineman of their schedule is brutal the patriots are now out of the division I think Donald the most talented quarterback in the division he's been mistake prone but unbelievably a playmaking dynamic at times they went seven six last year with an atrocious line average receivers some dysfunctional the coaching staff and mono so I think the jet for me is five number four graders in Vegas first time I I may have them low but no team to relocate the Super Bowl era has won more than nine games it's hard they got a new stadium I've seen it up close I got the Derek Carr Marcus Mariota components you know the minute Derek Carr's struggles Marcus Mariota's making eight large year Gruden is going to move on and so I think there's a little dysfunction and the potential and of really improving division top division to be a little bit of a mass and I'm here for it number three the ravens is Lamar Jackson going to keep growing and growing and growing I think they're the best team in the NFL I think he's now supported with a virtually perfect offense have cast they added JK Dobbins a already a great running attack but I do believe there's a lot of people out there that think the more you see a Lamar the less impressive years I don't happen to be one of those people I think he's going to go to the next level to get to the Super Bowl but but there are doubters and doubters equal drama and so I'm gonna watch number two Baker Mayfield doesn't when he's out the the the rosters to god he's got a grown up coach I mean it's it's funny for all I say about Baker I've never denied it's like Russell Westbrook I'm watching Russell Westbrook in playoff games the unraveling is fascinating R. Baker Mayfield in Cleveland now I don't believe the Baker struggled to get another year because of all of his missteps in the media missteps called out the medical staff I think it's Sam Darnold struggled they fire gase because he's been kind of the perfect NFL quarterback citizen one Baker there's been some nonsense in some hubris I think they bail on him so I want to watch it unfold number what Tom Brady Tampa I think they're going to be rough early good middle excellent late but we don't know no OTA young receivers I think there's a redemption story for Tom Brady wants to prove knowing when wrong Gronk's bond I think I think Tampa bay's gonna get massive numbers now I know what you're saying where is Kansas city well there's no drama with there's no drama they're great they're going to score a bunch of points the coach is great they won the Super Bowl and I think they're going to get to the AFC championship I'm not saying I'm not I'm not gonna watch Kansas city when they're all but these teams there's drama there's push there's boulders doubters there's critics I think San Francisco in that division could pull back I think San Francisco could be looking at you know five and three and you're like god I don't know your gums Arizona rams are better than we thought so those to me are the ten teams it'll get me to a TV set that is not a shot on Kansas city I just don't see any drama they're gonna score thirty game win ten or eleven games the division's better but they're going to win it and I don't see it on a drama I just think they're actually I and I've said this not all excellent teams are fascinating I always understood people that didn't like New England I I told joy this I get people who said it's a system that's boring I thought the San Antonio Spurs with Tim Duncan were boring I thought the dynasty was very I think Alabama's dynasty isn't nearly as much fun as the Miami hurricanes dynasty or USC's dynasty my god like not all dynasties are fascinating I'll be dominant and not have any flair for drama right any reason nicest guy in the world Patrick Mahomes appears to be the sweetest give the world is garbage points I bet that is no draw I know they're going to be great Baltimore I think they're going to be great but there are a lot of critics with Lamar who think the more you see the less you get out and you said yourself what about Seattle Russell Wilson Seattle's offense isn't good enough to score forty points so doesn't it always seem like Seattle's always in close games it doesn't always feel like you feel that way because the Russell he's saving Seattle's O. line and savings so yeah I don't feel like Patrick Mahomes saving anybody it's a fireworks show and I've always said firework shows are fun they get old fast Kansas city just gonna light the scoreboard forever that's not a question so those are the ten teams it'll get me to a TV set don't have New England I don't get it and Kansas city just gonna be great that that and it's I don't have Green Bay either because I think I don't I don't see a lot of drama with Green Bay I think they'll be a fission they'll score some points will be a good soldier for the cameras and it'll be fine and I don't see a lot of push pull with Jordan love stuffed errors too smart to get involved in that nonsense Hey I'm coming up next right around the corner mark Sanchez haven't talked to him in awhile how do you stay in shape what do you do he's got a new project as well that's come out whether you're working from home or on your fitness you wanna hear your music not your roommates ray cons wireless ear buds on the way to go fifteen percent off your rate con order by a ray con dot com slash H. "Brett farb once watched the Packers draft a young quarterback named Aaron Rodgers a clear signal that Green Bay was getting ready to turn the page on the farm area it is history repeating itself the Packers last week to wrap up the young quarterback Jordan love as perhaps the heir apparent to riders and a farce opinion quarterback is not the position the Packers should have been looking to fill everyone's got a different view and perspective and take on it that's just what how I feel about I don't know what that immediate need would have been but I would I would think you know maybe a another receiver maybe a you know someone who could come in and start right away with the assumption of can get us to the Superbowl were one player away FOR forty courtesy of SiriusXM radio far think Rodgers will ultimately finishes career somewhere else no doubt about where the Cincinnati Bengals are headed to quarterback the future lies with the top pick in the draft Joe burrow this is Bengals defensive back Jessie Bates who need our practice we can compete a little bit I know he's a competitor of seems like a really good guy for my best friend on the team is Sam Hubbard already is that is shows up at turns were all over you know before I will I'm sure we'll have a lot of back talk and open up the ticket office use other practices the open each other better than practices with our foundation based referring to former Ohio state Buckeye and Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard Bates joins your world on CBS sports radio NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on Wednesday discussed a number of restart scenarios including one in which training camps would begin next month followed by exhibition games in June the restart of the regular season in July in the Stanley Cup handed out in September fitment emphasized no final decisions have been made obviously.

"Old but I don't remember ever knowing this women's team takes a quarterback in the draft it's not just they are bringing in somebody who's going to be kind of a competitor send it for you know Erin Rogers in this case that they're passing up the chance to get somebody to build around that quarterback better you know I had never thought of that I would like to have you heard about this ghost much well no not tonight the argument I don't think would carry as much weight among the Packer fans because they could see as we all can the decline with Aaron Rodgers he's not as prime anymore may I have another year or two and they're following what had been a very successful formula because they did this with Aaron Rodgers worry sat for you know a couple of seasons until Brett farb moved along so the bottom line is they are figuring that okay Aaron Rodgers most important player is a quarterback know what the Packers will try to do but tweet now and when love love is going to be starting is that you're trying to fill in all the blanks that they have been they have some holes in their game there's no guide and their team there's no question about that so the bottom line is they do need a quarterback and this kid is is pretty good there's no question about who they got judge yeah yeah I agree about that little sort of a general thing that I never thought of it that it's a double whammy against the quarterback when the two that I was kind of a mild revelation to me you.

Mark Gastineau wants his single-season sack record back

"Sack success for more casting mark Gastineau it's something that he certainly had of the NFL well the single season sack record from nineteen eighty four until two thousand one and now after keeping quiet for eighteen years he's speaking out the former jet says the single season mark should belong to him and not hall of Famer Michael Strahan destino had twenty two sacks of the nineteen eighty four season stray hand broke that mark in two thousand one against the Packers when quarterback Brett farb seem to take a dive which gave straight and twenty two and a half sacks destino was on hand he graduated strain on the field and hasn't really said anything negative about it until now Gastineau saying nothing against farmer straight and he just wants to be recognized for the record and he's surprised the NFL didn't step in what happened ESPN's ridge so many mark why now it's been eighteen years it happened and he said that you know he's sixty three years old you know you realize he's he is battling H. you know like a lot of us when we get the you know you start putting life perspective it is also had a lot of health issues I don't know if the listeners know what the market's been battling colon cancer is tested for about a year he's battled colon yeah his prognosis looks pretty good right now but he still going for additional follow up tests so I think that coupled with his age may of change things for him a little bit looking at things a little bit differently and he just wants to come out and and he feels like that should be his record any once the recognition he wants people to know that that should be his record I don't disagree with them but rich you you spoke with do you think that he understands that it's not going to be overturned at it that's not going to happen yeah I think you know that you know and I think it actually by the way we should mention that also Jared Allen former Minnesota Viking ingested Houston former Kansas City Chiefs also had twenty two stacked up to a tie with gas to know who did it in nineteen eighty four I think so and security and of course with twenty two and a half and yeah I mean they're never going to change the one little side note a friend of mine the NFL statistician he works games for an NFL team reached out to me and showed me the actual rules that statisticians go by with you know assigning sacks and technically that should not have been recorded as a staff it was no attempt to make a pass on that place so it really should have been ruled like a minus yardage for a rush and not a sack the thing is neither team the Packers or the giants filed a protest at the time so when in the book as a stack but really at the statistician pointed out by the letter of the law it should not have been a sack what is Michael Strahan has here and said anything about this yeah you know that's a really good question of the five years ago six years ago he did NFL life like it was on him you know the NFL network those those documentaries and that came up in the and I were and I re watched it and he was really candid about it and he talked about all the anguish that record has cost him because he's been teased about it and people say well as an asterisk next to it because that check last sack with a cheap one it really giving so he really opened up as to really how much you know like I said English it cost him and I know from talking to Gastineau eight which is somebody would break it I mean someone with disco pass them both and break it cleanly that way this whole issue dies and I know from watching that video with straight hair he two wishes someone would break it just to remove the shadow we circumstances that it happened first Reagan national saying he was also inspired after hearing a recent interview with Pete rose in gas and says that like rose he's trying to get what is rightfully

"The young guy as he's developing I think that's really important and then those decisions or those delays that you see they they begin to change they begin to get smaller and smaller smaller so now we all think now you can agree with that I'm just trusting a guy who developed Brett farb and others and he said cut down the amount of offense you're putting on his plate and let the young guy develop fair and I agree with him but now we're all going to say that Mister bass he's gonna move in the right direction but you don't know for certain if he is I didn't say here okay I'll set it ago if if he's not the guy that gives us on the bench you get another guy I agree like now we're all talking about how much you're busy at this big upswing von Miller said the other day he's going to be a great quarterback in the NFL he's not bad okay thanks bye I'm over here thinking that everyone's gonna hopefully take a step forward this year was there are concrete evidence of that this year now but you you'd like to think they're not going to take two steps back more than they did this year everyone's got to figure out learn from their mistakes okay I can't be as positive you real fast let's get fat Mike him a fat Mike what's going Markle's what are you doing good man I'm positivity thought that Mr this is ridiculous thank you it wasn't well that's what it boils down to is something else that we are now on the offense not so much the political your neck is part of the fact of the matter that Mr but you can't open receiver within ten yards and I'm getting sick of watching the same product on the field each and every single week of the season it's not your fault this service not being able to make the basic necessary players that are able to work on offense well what for the past two seasons now it it's ridiculous okay look quite well right I'm sorry they're gonna CD you fat Mike if that might give them a battle line we had bad play calling we had no tight ends that made any place we got one receiver that's where they're going to tell you we got to go to break that might have a great day and a great weekend we love that you all you're the best that Mike to regular I love talking to that guy look he's got to be better you got to bring in competition for a hundred percent I agree but I'm not wash my hands of the guy that Mike would I want will take time out will come back and we'll play shot no shot you're listening to cap a company you're listening to ESPN one thousand listening.

"MP I understand that was when I wrote when he was the most dominant player in the league you are right your right and I'm not saying Brett farb sucks out loud Brett farb is probably top ten and maybe I'm being disrespectful to read far I know we're big in Milwaukee I know we're big in Wisconsin and I'm going to get a lot of heat out of that I know when I think about the greatest ever I have to consider what you did for the franchise what you did for the fan base he was great for the franchise great for the fan base talking about Brett for fear what you were for the team he was obviously a great leader those three things he's great quarterbacking talent that's right that's right there too but had he had made better decisions and that's part that's why Peyton manning to be his top three Hey Mandy was one of the finest decision makers and field generals game managers that you would ever see because now but if I say game manager someone going to call and say all that Sox game manager at now game manager is the best thing you could possibly call quarterback that that's what wins your games if you get great talent and you have a game manager your hall of fame quarterback you revolutionize the pre snap thank you mean by game thank you yes yes yes yes yes no one more people are at knowing their tendencies not just going there and figure out what you can do but what a defense is going to do against you that's what puts Peyton manning up there Brett Farr I don't know if you ever did that I'm sure he knew tendencies a certain guys but when you look back through some of the mistakes I don't think you grow two one six eight five five two one two four CS here they are Anthony in Abilene Texas go right on ahead Anthony about hello can you hear me I got to go ahead I noticed when you were naming quarterback he left about Troy Aikman three super bowls undefeated in those super bowls and when he won the one with Barry Switzer it was more of the code then the coach what more leadership do you need them what he had all right what about Terry Bradshaw than fresh off a different neighborhood let us he still for it is the eight three thank you very much all that was a great call in Arkansas you're next up on CBS sports radio go yeah I don't disagree with anything you Sir so far but I wonder where you put the young on your list Jeez where do you put Steve young on your list how can that's kind of where I think to okay I got Paul was an annuity you got paid in two leagues when it paid the USFL he got paid the NFL I don't know I put see I I think I might put Steve yet and and we'll see now it's getting difficult now people are gonna start taking it personally Dwayne thank you very much for the call I would put drew Brees probably in the top five you mentioned Steve young Steve young's top ten Troy Aikman's top ten but you're just gonna be super bowls arrival the word wears Terry Bradshaw you got a lot of it we got a lot of players in this town not the all what okay dammit here we go eight men can't be in the top ten I'm sorry come well hold on here back in the office hold on well then you wait a minute that's not true whatsoever have use you want me to name a name that you're gonna get really mad at probably cut me off and host wrestler show by yourself all really you want to talk about that guy fine all right that guy yeah our city exactly okay fine if he's a second worse that's okay not I'm not I'm not saying it's the greatest in the hall of fame I'm saying that he's he's I don't know he's a pretty good recorder back Troy was a pretty damn good quarterback Tom like the fifth the best player on his on offense and I wanted to talk about Lamar Jackson and here we are at those stats we'll get to Lamar you people do I have an agenda that I have to push upon you people and your call on it with favor quarterbacks because we rubbed up against drew Brees someway somehow Steve young is interesting I think it's in the ten to fifteen range I think Kurt Warner I don't know man Steve a gory of like like unconventional song about these quarterback someone calls in with the Kurt Warner stuff and away we go Kurt Warner's all of Famer too I got a Curt ones for damage okay Tom Joe Peyton Tom Joe Peyton drew John Dan Jim that's seven where's red far Brett farb it's eight two more Tom say words say it ain't me lost me there's too much math with the first names only but I all I like John unite us too and your that'll probably make sense I forgot about Johnny unite us this is going well graduations you have ruined the our eight five five two one two four CBS one hour away John breech will join us from CBS will talk on the phone with him find where does drew Brees vote on the top ten go right on ahead eight five five two one two four CBS also coming up Lamar jacks is the new most dangerous man in the NFL it's not for the reasons.

"To come back as I've said he'll come back we make him out to be Brett farb here I mean Colin Kaepernick had a couple of really good years yes they went to the Superbowl he's talented but I don't think he's a great quarterback I don't think that he can walk in and be a backup quarterback no owner wants to have that headache if I'm bringing in Capri Nick it's it's for him to play I'm desperate I need him and I know we can talk about all these other quarterbacks Nate Peterman has a job he's willing to be the third string quarterback Colin Kaepernick is known and there's no coverage of neat Peterman with the raiders any might not make that team but so you can't bring in copper Nick to prepare your starter I don't think that's who we is an is he gonna come back in with his tail between his legs and say you know I'll be a backup quarterback he wants to come in and start and until he does that it's always going to be the footnote of in the NFL book it'll be part of its history not a great history here but capric is not going to commit to be a backup quarterback unless you say if you make it an open competition that I'm going to play it's been three years since he played now is he better than some quarterbacks absolutely but he knew that he was going to have baggage and I think I said at the time he'll never play again because these owners are conservative they're running a business and this is a business decision yeah I've always wanted to know we've invited calling on the show probably fifty times over the past three years he has a come on it has been multiple reports that he was offered a job in the NFL is offered a contract to be a back up in a backup pay not not high pay that you used to I've always wanted no from him was he ever offered a contract that he passed on the play within a full team and if so why did he think himself a backup doesn't Sir what I'm doing here I should be a starter but also if I take the backup role my it will also hurt my because of what I'm trying to do here that's my speculation but I would like to know from him I think he's bought into being a martyr I think it's a better story he's going to write a book and if you are hired by an NFL team then that sort of goes away or it softens a little bit of his stance with everything I think it better serves him to not being in the NFL I really do yes thirty one for a long time before he's gonna be too old to play so things possible things change yeah but for a quarterback who relies on his legs a lot but it has a you know yeah that used to much Mike Vick returned to league as a starter at age thirty after missing two seasons and the better part of a third season without being in jail and join in Philly but not being used and he came in as a backup quarterback because he reached out to Tony Dungy and Tony said I want you to go into a situation because Andy Reid is you're going to be your coach in Philadelphia because Mike was going to go to the raiders from what I was told and Tony said no no you can't do that go to where you're going to be protected by a coach who will make sure you're protected and he goes to Philadelphia in large part because of Andy Reid and I think Tony was worried if you went to the raiders maybe a lack of structure there that he was going to get in trouble yeah Michael about we we kind of thought Vic it was unthinkable for him to return you know there and two years later I'm just tell you times time changes some things I know it seems I mean Capper next not a criminal yeah I mean there's no comparison and that's that's exactly and you can talk about the age in that position and being away from the game and coming back I get that because we wondered what Mike would have when he came back and he still had something and maybe capric will as well but these are apples and oranges as to why one is not playing one went to prison and the other one was black balled my eyes wrong is log for clicks his TiVo coming back when it is because you give them a baseball yet TiVo would have a better chance to come back then Colin Kaepernick I truly believe that but yes my TiVo relied so much on his legs even more way more than capric like he needs to be he's not age well as a quarterback no can produce a better quarterback than Tim TiVo way better now but you can you can sell ten TiVo has a backup quarterback I remember that was a tough spot for teams they didn't want him as a backup either well because we didn't know how it would go over if you cut them if you cut him that was good in many went to New England and I thought well New England can cut him in it will be okay but I think teams were worried if we cut a much going to be the fan reaction let me get to Joe in California then we'll take a break and warder covered the cowboys will join is coming up Hey Joe would you have for me today I have a celebrity sighting yesterday man beach California I thought you'd be interested okay I will Tom Brady faces backlash for cliff diving with daughter

"Well Tom Brady is facing the wrath of many online is a video of him jumping off of a cliff in Costa Rica with his daughter another there's a video a year or two ago of him jumping off the same cliff and this time his ten year old daughter jumped with them and people are upset the daughter's name is Vivian the color VV she said she's ready and then see star the hesitate before jumping into the water but since they were holding hands she ended up jumping with them and they were fine and the people think is the most dangerous thing you possibly could have done it doesn't I can't can't tell how high it is it doesn't look like it's that hi maybe it's twenty feet or something and some your ten year old is capable of doing one person said she's the ten year old that gets a thumbs down said Brett farb if Twitter you know I think he knows his kids capabilities I mean she jumps he jumped they're fine and it probably wasn't smart to post the video put it that way that's that's the problem you posted the video you know save it for home but than Tom Brady aired on the back of never going to do that again is the wrath of how people want other people to raise their kids no I'm saying what I'm

"That's because the CBS fox NBC ESPN direct TV pays out two hundred and sixty million per team last year all the Yankees moved up three spots to just behind the cowboys they're valued at four point six billion that's a big move their up fifteen percent and that has everything to do with their own channel to the yes network was fifty seven percent higher than any other baseball franchise viewership in all of baseball so that's a big advantage at the Yankee sap and real Madrid the soccer team ranks thirty four point two billion you wonder why lebron James got into the soccer business shot konowalchuk jag wars in the soccer business who does a lot of money there and don't forget real Madrid set all these records in regards to the richest sports teams sale that's a big deal in the past currently two point three billion was the sale for the Carolina Panthers in twenty eighteen and the Brooklyn nets and twenty nineteen so the moral of the story everybody is the whole buy and hold and don't sell because of all these rights with the media companies continue to go up up and up the Knicks headline nine basketball teams of the top fifty the Nixa worth four billion dollars eleven percent ranks fifth among all sports teams I had to the Lakers at three point seven billion the warriors a three point five that also cracked into the top ten then you look at this overall I'm telling you these NBA franchises have been sold for at least two billion since twenty fourteen member Steve Balmer bought the clippers for two billion and everybody said while I sit on my show what is he doing what is she doing buying the clippers for two billion well it's up in value it was a great investment eight five five two one two four two two seven when you hear the words of your franchise how does that make you feel as a fan are you proud of it what is it anger you that your franchise doesn't win but there weren't so much money and you know it's just a money grab to get your money for television eight five five two one two four two two seven J. in South Carolina thanks for calling CBS sports radio Hey merry though investiga McCall thank you Jeff I just want to say not grown up in urban areas so my baseball close to me to my first of India NBA amino baseball game and I just was known how beautiful the stadium was the grass is cut so for him to talk about getting now I'm just so confused because when it all put the onus on the customer like that's the Porter to majestic you know going to see the game I've been able to get us our growth wall before game and you know just enter and with the players you know the ones that are just coming up from the minors will getting their own fan base to put these next up because of you know Bozo eight watching a game I just it is yeah but let me stop because I want to hear more about this first off there are kids in their old elderly people at games to get hit by foul balls that can't move quick enough so that's why the put up the net they're not putting up the net to keep you away from the players that you want me to get an autograph to keep in the put in and out up to protect people who aren't quick enough to react to a baseball number two you bring up a great point one of the earliest memories I have ever in my life as a little boy I had to be five or six years old my dad took me an old timers day at Yankee Stadium I'll never forget the time that I walk through the concourse and I came up and I saw the field for the first time I don't ever recall a net it was just seeing the green grass and the facade at Yankee Stadium I will walk into stadiums and walk off the concourse and just see a net wrapped around the whole infield from my view that to me takes away from the aesthetics of sitting outside and enjoying baseball one of my old enough what my word on this day at this time the Cleveland Browns we visually trail down back it's not gonna work Baker gonna bigger the very hard nose guy and bill there was an emotional guy they're going to be winning but he's not going to get is numbers and I want to ship them out it's not going to work you will remember you know del thanks for the call del played with Eli we played with the life he lives a class act you don't have to be a huge Eli manning fan what a class act he is and how we live prepares and the way he's a professional in the huddle and off the field he did not yet a problem when he wasn't getting the ball with the line so of course she's gonna have a problem is not getting the ball but I think Baker Mayfield gonna get on the ball he's playing for a quarterback like Josh Rosen is supposed to be pretty good he was drafted tenth overall tenth overall by the cardinals they traded up with the raiders to get him from ten to fifteen is supposed to be in Arizona forever I still think you could be okay Sam Donald with the jets is okay I don't know if you can be great Baker Mayfield looks and its comparativo to a young Brett farb he was much better than Brett farb at the same age Brett Farr didn't play for a program like Oklahoma Brett farb didn't win the Heisman Trophy Baker Mayfield did and Baker may feel I saw when he came into Oakland last year I was watching him from the field he was incredible so he's gonna throw it around just like for the compare a bowl of may feel to anyone who's ever played in this league is right for body size arm ability to Ron bowl bravado and all that I think you know don't gonna be pretty happy that he has as a quarterback he's he's gonna throw it forty times a game then probably is good target del fifteen eighteen times a game Baker the only quarterback that I would want to play for more than Baker Mayfield would be drew Brees or Tom Brady because they're always pass on the balls always coming out when you know you're gonna get a lot of receptions Baker may feel fits into that mould of a guy was going to pass first wanted second is gonna throw it to his best guide was Odell Beckham junior on paper it should work Dave's in Michigan thanks for waiting Dave gad plates first time caller love your show I can get back to sleep because everything is spot on that you say I yeah I totally agree with the netting that's half the reason they take my grandchildren to the game the bill if you catch a baseball be able to get an autograph autograph for one of the players I think it's a bad move I hope there's a turn around in this this netting I don't see that happening but what's your opinion on that you think they'll change of mind some of these owners regarding the netting because it's it's a definite turn off and I would be if you want to jump in good to hear from you thanks a lot if you want to check in I got open lines a five five two one two four two two seven I think owners are going to do it because you're gonna feel pressured to do it because other teams are doing it there are seven teams now seven that baseball netting from foul ball fallible and one of them well the Dodgers and the Dodgers about problems in the past at their ballpark fans getting beat up in the parking lot the bad file ball issues you know the Dodgers about fights in the stands I lived in LA for ten years my kids grew up going to Dodger games it was rough I'm talkin rough not if you're a Dodger fan but even if you weren't a Dodger fan you will have your head on a swivel the last thing the Dodgers one or bad PR so for the Dodgers the put up netting that was interesting to me because I I've been to these other ball parks I've been a Pittsburg Kansas city Texas all nice ballparks Camden yards I wasn't aware of that did you know the Camden yards at full netting I did know was no one watches the Orioles anymore the worst team in baseball so you don't notice as much and you're not gonna notice it on SportsCenter the only way you're gonna notice netting or anything like it is if you decide to get off the couch and turn off the TV and go to a game and that seems to be what baseball's been concentrating on the last couple years baseball scared of his own shadow the trying to figure out how to get more Bucks in the sea they're gonna embrace gambling they're gonna embrace a whole bunch of other ways to get you to go to a game food giveaways fantasy sports entertainment in game all of a sudden you throw up a big net I don't know I think if you go if you're a season ticket holder that's what I'd like to hear from I think what this vast audience that we have on CBS sports radio how many baseball fans our season ticket holders I don't know many I know season ticket holders in the NBA and I know I know what town in the NFL who owns season tickets they go to all eight games but I don't know baseball fans who go to eighty one games a year may maybe have a luxury box if you're rich when you do that you work for a corporation but if you've got season tickets to a baseball game and they decide to put up a net those are the fans are gonna move the needle most of the fans are going to say the hell with it I don't like this net I want to go I'm giving up our season tickets and I don't think most people will do that I think you'll get used to the netting like you do with a hockey game with the glass in the netting but you have to admit one thing before we come back next hour we are baby proof and everything we are so politically correct we are so afraid of our shadow was she so afraid of everybody getting hurt that were baby proof and everything and this is a classic example of just being scared all of a sudden because it's on TV and it's on sports center and now you're scared to go to a baseball game without a net after well over a hundred years I don't get it but then again I don't have a to a three year old but I want to protect at a baseball game eight five five two one two four two two seven J. "Are right here to take the mantel yeah yeah which is not always the case usually it's not the case sometimes you go to these you know was a decades but the least you years ago like all right who's the who's the great quarterback in NFL go through an exercise picky year we'll do this real quick before take a break on taking to pick out a year seven no ninety seven interesting nineteen ninety cat rookie season by Ricky's these nineteen ninety the NFC east quarterbacks like it was Dave brown it was time I think it was for the cowboys nineteen ninety seven ninety six seven I got I got here ninety I know it was still blame I don't know who the quarterback will okay sells pre Donovan with Philadelphia here's the passing leaders from nineteen ninety seven Marino all time great blood cell all time pretty good yeah Warren moon all time great CFL as well let's those great nobody people forget that well he was very for couple years yeah no question have mean it was it was also the ball a lot he was in the Superbowl before I know but anyway to buffalo was about quite a bit about when he was in doing I don't he was in the Super Bowl before Tom Brady won the Superbowl of next year's stroke yeah I know that's true Warren moon all time great Brett farb all time great now here we go Scott Mitchell Scott Mitchell was the fifth well that's in terms of completion so obviously threw the ball quite a bit for the choice that year then you've got Jeff George who was a transient pain in the behind I mean he bounced around and nobody liked him or even a we had a rocket let's see Eric Kramer bounced around up in special all due respect Brad Johnson bounced around all the respect nothing special more personnel at that point very counted up Neil o'donnell whatever Tony banks whatever Tony banks of Baltimore we would say lose that yeah Kordell Stewart you know if you take away the gauge the gadgets and whatever whatever you know I hear about it is that I have a back obviously away yeah but I mean I just name six or seven god Trent Dilfer delay great Steve McNair Todd Collins for buffalo Gus for Rockbridge Chandler desperado Carolina yeah Jim horrible with the cult I mean there's a lot of code Elvis Grbac Jeff Blake what again Danny can now yeah he's in when you come in saying who the great quarterbacks in the NFL that's right you get five you picked a good year and I'm sure there's years that would maybe challenge that but I'm sure most models more accurately reflect ninety seven then they wouldn't be so just something to consider this could be a transformational year for quarterback played in the NFL eight five five two one.
