What Needs To Happen for Newsom To Get Recalled?
"So let's just go through. If if gavin newsom gets recalled what would be the areas that have to do that. You'd have to have kind of the gay base in san francisco not turn out right. I'm not saying that pejoratively. It's just what it is right. You have to have the hispanic hispanic base in kind of la not turn out right and then you need to have a suburban one one eighty right. You need to have kind of the westwood yoga. Moms and the brentwood won't yoga moms. I mean and kind of like the pasadena. Professors be like not going to happen. And the reason i'm saying this though is that this really isn't uphill climb in california. You need like five different domino's to fall on my right. Yeah that that's a very realistic. I mean it's. It's good that we do that with viewers and listeners be realistic. It is a very steep hill to climb but the things you just mentioned we did see possible which is why it was close in. La for instance. Fifty one percent of hispanics told us in l. a. that were going to vote You know he should. He should trounce The opposition in la should eat at least thirty points out of there. Are we not seeing that. In the reason. Why is because a lot of the people who did tillis they were gonna vote. Were anti newsom. So outside in the county around ventura the suburbs. You was not doing well. And then you had san diego. For instance where if sandiego was a bigger margin for no or for Yes to recall him then. Probably means orange county would've been a little bit wider and it may have been a lead for a minute there but san diego was not as pro recall as we expected it to be or it needs to be so there are definitely five. Domino's maybe even more that you need to see fall of that white liberal base which is that bay area He needs to more inland hispanics for sure Central valley hispanics the working hispanic in the central valley. They tend to be more conservative in they do. And they're getting more conservative of the years but they for while were the most pro

Did Britney Spears Unknowingly Fund Gay Conversion Therapy?
"But Britney's candid and chilling testimony has definitely catapulted the whole conservatorship nonsense into people's minds now and it's really coming across how it has worked for decades. And the one who's really pulling the chains on this who started up was this motherfucker Lou Taylor. Britney's former business manager, she's a bitch this woman. That's what she does. She tried to do it with Lindsay Lohan. She tried to do with Courtney Love, Aaron Carter, Katherine Jackson, even Kanye West. She was successful at Brittany and Amanda Bynes. That's what she does. This is not about granting a relative professional authority to help someone. It's about taking away their rights. I mean, we should talk about how do we support the people who go through this, not when to remove his or her rights. It's got this for very, it must work for some people, but I think it's too much for Brittany. And as my listeners have learned, nobody tries to get more trouble celebrities into these constructive stand, low Taylor. And I'll give you guys a sniff of what I told my patron yesterday. Luke Taylor's husband is a pastor for cavalry chapel Brentwood. His church has links to Christian rehabilitation centers, including a place called mercy multiplied and get this guys. No one's telling you this. Those places fund and conduct gay conversion therapy. Now Britney's money I've seen the documents have has been used to fund these organizations. I don't know what her gay fans think of this. They probably don't know. How are they gonna feel how outrage are they gonna get to know that Luke Taylor and other people in Britney's camp have used have siphon Britney's money to pay for people's gay conversion

That story, it turns out is only the latest development in a much bigger saga, one that involves a prime piece of real estate, a corruption scandal a pandemic in the plan to pick up the pieces. KCR W's Anna Scott takes it from here. The story really begins. 133 years ago in 18 87. Hey, we told you it was a saga that year, a wealthy family donated the land That's now the campus with the stipulation that it had to serve as a home for military veterans. And for a long time it did at one point after the Korean War between four and 5000 veterans lived there. But by the 19 seventies, Thie started leasing out the property for all kinds of things. They maintained a hospital and other veterans services but brought in a dog Park Baseball stadium, even a parrot sanctuary at one point Meanwhile, many veterans lived on the streets. You know, in the military, you never leave a fallen comrade behind on the battlefield. Why would we leave them behind here on American soil? Bob Rose Brock is an Army veteran who lives in Brentwood. It turned out there was a bribery scheme going on at the campus, Another VA official and a guy who ran private parking lots there were sentenced to prison. In short, It was a big, ugly mess. Four years ago, the unveiled a proposal to bring the campus back to its original mission and transform it into a community with more than 1600 new apartments for homeless veterans. So happy ending right?

Maybe I don't know so I go to this hotel and I get the lobby on the first guy because I have a heart out. Yeah so I go that. I'm wearing like a Jean Jacket. And like probably this exact shirt actually. It's probably this outfit but with Jean Jacket. Which I've seen you in a few times because you wear that to rehearse yes. I have a uniform so I get there and I look around and every guy is in a suit because in their minds. They're like I need to look like I'm supposed to look when I get out of a limo. Yes and I was like Oh Shit. I am under addressed for this. Don't you hate FM? Yeah no no but but but in my mind I'm like this is great like this is such great radio. I'm starting off so bad so So then they they call me up and they sit they sit you down in. It's kind of similar to this situation. Y YOU DOWN. And it was two female casting directors and they started asking me questions and they're like they're like first off. Why the hell do you got to leave at four in like five minutes and I have. I have a radio show and they're like oh great. Do your radio bit and luckily enough. I had done my morning show so I'd already had done like four bits. See good so I like just word vomited like the four bits. I had about like Justin Bieber. Peeing in a trash can and like how. That was the luckiest trash can ever know like. It was like some stupid like that and I had them at rolling laughing roles like this. I thought like I was thought I was being so like ridiculous ridiculous. I didn't care yes I will at. The time wasn't really trying to get on the show. I just thought like this would be a really funny radio. Yes but dying laughing and I remember afterwards. They're like so. What are you doing in March and April and I was like? I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow but Yeah no and they're like well. Maybe blocked that out. We need to see you in Los Angeles and I was like oh I guess I did. You made it to the next. So then they fly you out Los Angeles. And then you take a five hundred question. Ecology tests psyche. Val Okay by the way people don't realize which I think is think it's got. I think what they actually do as you take the psyche vow and they just have to say like in case someone goes rogue one that show they have to say what we talked about them and we tested them and they didn't seem crazy X Y and Z. I don't really think because I've seen some crazy people on reality shows yeah as that psyche will. Yeah where have you seen the questions? I was on a reality show so I had to take the psyche. Yeah we'll get to that later on keep on going with your story. Well the the questions of like do you want to be a park ranger. And they'll be like I don't want to be Park Ranger. Have you ever had feelings of hurting animals do do you exactly? Do you think that people are out to get you going to rethink the the Park Ranger question? When you hear things do they. Come from inside your. Hey do you hear voices? Which way is going there? I remember taking that. You're all alone in like the Sheraton by the LAX. And I was like. I don't know I'm scared out. Then you crazy maybe I do. WanNa kill the money by the way I had a girlfriend. Who went on bad girls club? This is before we knew a bad girls club was about. She was like one of the first girls. On one of the first seasons are the second season yeah and she was telling me about it and I was like. There's no way that they get on that. Show Nabi able to pass the saggy dow new out this bitch earth person in the house. Yeah because their birthday bells and whistles on like Oh. They're looking for crazy unstable. Yeah well I wasn't.
Senator Marsha Blackburn Speaks About The Corona virus And Election Security
"So much what a pivot to to a senator Marsha Blackburn who is joining us and she is a Republican from Tennessee and senator Blackburn thank you so much I know that you have not only been coping with this issue with regards to cook at nineteen but of course in your home state you have got a lot of people that are hurting and regrettably that are that are making funeral preparations at this hour and for that you have our deepest condolences well thank you for that and we appreciate the condolences and prayers and Tennessee is the volunteer state and I will tell you yesterday when I was out and out Wilson county Davidson county Putnam County which has been the hardest hit to see all the volunteers that showed up to help and volunteers in the churches that are coming around these families who are now planning funerals and in the midst of homes being destroyed in businesses being destroyed they are standing with these families and helping them get through a time of just deep deep grief and sorrow as they have lost homes and livelihoods and have lost these precious lives and are experiencing that grief senator Blackburn I was reading about to that there was a young couple the husband wife and a child all three of whom perished invests in that storm system those that tornado outbreak I mean you're talking about a generation of of a of a family that is just been eliminated and and how the how other members of family cope with that to me is just a it's a grief that I pray none of us ever know that **** well you're exactly right and to see these families and in the midst of this grief they're out searching for even a picture something from that family that they can use as they go through the process of remembering and the sadness fear the children that have died in this is the children that are hospitalized right now with injuries and the numbers that are hospitalized and have the injuries and Putnam County with eighteen deaths that are there it's just devastating and you look at this area of Baxter which is right outside of Cookeville Tennessee there in Putnam County is a community of about twelve hundred people and they've got a hundred and twenty five homes and businesses that no longer exist they're gone it is a field of rubble and it is just it is just devastating and there's they were using one building that was standing as kind of their command center there was a another market that was still standing one down the road was totally gone gas pumps market everything gets a sign of it anybody's ever walk to the this scene after a tornado it's it'll take your breath away the damage in Maine yeah I've been in war zones hurricanes tornadoes and I have never seen anything like this and are you satisfied help senator of Blackburn are you satisfied with the federal response thus far I have you been in contact with the trump White House I have been in touch with the president with the White House I was on the ground yesterday with the regional administrator for FEMA a team of which is the Tennessee emergency management association has a website set up it is T. N. dot gov forward slash team at T. E. M. A. I. individuals can go there and get information on how they access help but the governor in Tennessee is doing a good job we'll have the president on the ground tomorrow people are looking forward to having him there so that he can see firsthand so we're talking to sue us senator Marsha Blackburn and senator we saw also that your that the Tennessee governor had held a news conference this morning saying that Tennessee has the first confirmation of cold hit nineteen as well also from middle Tennessee talk about adding insult to injury as you guys are coping with the tornado damage you're also dealing with this covert nineteen outbreak that is correct in the state health department I had the confirmation on this case yesterday it is a forty four year old male he lives in Williamson County which is right outside of Nashville that Sir Brentwood Franklin area I he had attended an international conference which was held in the United States after he returned home he did not feel well so eventually as his system and his symptoms worsened he decided to go to take medical care and that is when he was tested and he is quarantined at home with his family now we we have seen some of the measures in places like China some of the European measures when it comes to this slowing the spread of cove it nineteen and and some other areas are taking pretty significant measures that we have not yet taken here in the United States one of which being the the UK government announcing that they're going to pay for people's sick leave from day one if they self quarantine image can you imagine every single taxpayer being on the hook for everybody's staying home from work in a two week or more self quarantine one one of the things I think said and we're receiving regular updates Dr sale team is doing a tremendous job N. ambassador Burke of leading the effort working with the vice president who is handling this they are very thoughtful they are getting information to us they are transferring information to your state and local health authorities and I certainly believe that the reason you have seen a slower spread here in the U. S. then you have in other countries it is because of the actions the president took immediately on restricting travel from China the restrictions have since placed on Italy and on South Korea analysts say also the actions that are being taken by many companies I know many companies are now placing our travel restrictions on individuals until we know more about the incubation time the covet nineteen and on the the symptoms how long the disease last things of that nature some people are are of the of the mindset senator Blackburn that the corona virus outbreak could have an effect on the the upcoming presidential election of the presidential nominating process though with with Bernie Sanders now out and he was or or at least seemingly mathematically out I don't wanna say these out loud but seemingly mathematically out it will I I would have thought he would have done better on super Tuesday as he is the man who is advocating for universal health care and that would be something that that some supporters of Bernie Sanders think would help when it comes to the outbreak of of the corona virus are are you surprised that or or are you concerned that the corona virus could have an effect on the process of electing our next president I I don't think that it will I think that knowing Tennesseans and I think many Americans are like them and they feel that our country three is when you look at the issues of security whether it is economic security national security border security and access to services like healthcare and making certain that we are addressing issues like the environment with clean air clean water that many of the stepsisters ministration have take has taken our steps in the right direction and they are pleased with that and people are going to go to the polls they are going to vote for Donald Trump it looks like it is said to senator Marsha Blackburn a Republican from Tennessee and I I wanted to kind of learn the last question here Fauria switch topics kind of a hard pivot here one of your colleague senator Marco Rubio left a video message on his Twitter page last night let me just play a portion of this you can see what he's advocating here and I'll get your reaction things

"The big news locally here today was the apartment fire on the west side in the Brentwood area which did injure a number of people including now we have learned several people a couple of people in critical condition we have to be looked at we'll bring you all the latest on that you'll also get it from KFI news along the way but it was a pretty scary thing and what we don't have although there are suspicions is only sense a spacious suspicions including a fire nearby that broke out about a couple hours earlier was at a construction site was at the Wells Fargo bank building right next to the world's Fargo Wilshire yeah I'm will sure about three blocks away end another suspicious thing to residents were sleeping in that an eleventh floor apartment and second for and the second fire heard what they said were apparent explosions that woke them up you wonder if it was some sort of manufacturing operation yeah thing like that is what I'm thinking that's why maybe something out of the water a breaking bad or was this a bombs these guys were building it we don't know we're gonna have to two thirty year old guys if it was two thirty old woman you wouldn't think twice about it right are you here to to send like to single guys early in the morning they're doing something complicated and there's like five thirty and suddenly there's a fire on the sixth or the seventh floor Dan is a little weird and we'll bring you up to date but they probably have a good idea by now now that the fire is out things have cooled they probably see it it looks obvious to the fire dancers it's eleven people injured including two thirty year old men who were in the apartment where the fire started ones in grave condition the other one is critical and the critical one is the one that was rescued clinging to the outside of the building they are saying it was the seventh floor of the twenty five story apartment building hi news came down yesterday during the show that the parents of little no we're quattro for your old Palmdale boy who died under quote suspicious circumstances have been indicted on murder and torture charges in his death we've been talking about this story on and off since it happened months ago it was actually last July there's so many of these in the antelope valley I have to try to separate amount this is not Gabriel Fernandez he was another boy that was killed in twenty thirteen this is the latest one from just last summer the parents called nine one one in this case a bit unusual we believe it is his actual biological parents I haven't heard any differently they called nine one one and said the sun the drowned in the apartment complex pool well they get there and find no evidence of drowning in the boy who is dead in the water in the lungs stuff like that I would assume you know right away right away they're lying about something you're covering up some sure and the really stupid too and that point a full investigation has to take place but now because we are more than six months later they finally have been indicted because these two didn't know that if a person has drowned the reason they've drowned is the water in their lungs has blocked the ability for them to brief right they no longer can get oxygen into their blood system but I guess these two geniuses did know that no Jose Maria quattro junior that would be the father Ursula and lean Juarez they were arrested in September but now they've been formally charged he one count of assault on a child causing death one count of sexual penetration of a child she's under the age of ten yes there is a belief he sexually abused a boy all one count of child abuse is the woman under circumstances likely to stand so they really believe in the father did this is my is my thinking what S. hi Lisa how the site was created I Lee attacking his own four year old son all why they are there to get the death penalty he pulled it shouldn't be all but if there were other children by speaking if he gets the death penalty Gavin Newsom is going to block he's his that institution from going through the media we become a friend of Gavin a friend of kit anyway the other half of this is no of course they were well aware of the moon above my child service he was placed in foster care he went back and forth between his parents and his great grandmother eva Hernandez now we know about her because she's represented by Brian Claypool right Graham the attorney great grandmother right well some people have kids very young I and it goes on for several generations following the arrest of these two she recounted her great grandsons pleas to stay with her before he was removed from her care here's how it went in twenty fourteen twenty fourteen the boy he died in twenty nineteen the age of four I guess is a pretty much from birth he was placed in foster care then the great grandmother got him the following year he was returned to his parents then he went back in the foster care later returned to the great grandmother in twenty sixteen following allegations he didn't medically neglected by his parents I'm telling you this because they were well aware of this boy and in fact the big thing is there was a court order that allowed them to remove the child from his home on may fifteenth and on July sixties dad that's the one they don't nor in the court order apparently it was over read one of the social workers got a court order and some supervisor and they were named who it was who blocked the court order they gave some half Cherokee explanation yeah out of the court order summary story kind of like we didn't have to follow it and it was all that's what they said something I didn't have the right information something stupid like that we felt it was I think what they were trying to say was we felt the social worker did know what she will he or she was talking about and we're going to override the court order me yeah meantime the dad is sexually assaulting the little boy and he'd been removed from the home practically since birth here's what happened social workers last saw no one in late June this is just a what a week before he died two weeks they updated the court order and ask for thirty day continuance are they what they did to investigate further there's nothing left to investigate well now we know there wasn't even going out for over four years and remember the rain reporting and absolved child services responsibility yeah well that's that's that's bogus what why do these child service employees hate these kids so much why would you get in the business in order to enable more torture and abuse and violence sexual abuse what what do you do that yeah I mean just working there for the paycheck and the pension some day hi you end up having contempt for these little kids your chance in a thousand dollars two minutes away are you ready I'll talk slower if you're not a lease do okay well down on the calling today when you say what what am I doing Coleen creatine the taurine hi I don't know what to do here I forgot how to do my job well you got is a locking this would you'll see melts in terror markets news federal figures show union membership in California shot up by close to one hundred thousand members in twenty nineteen that more than makes up for membership losses over the previous two years and the rest of the country unions.
PG&E says its power lines may have started 2 fires in California over the weekend
"PG and saying it's Orleans may have started to wildfires over the weekend in San Francisco's Bay area blackouts were in place to prevent down lines starting fires during windy weather but the fires began a section of town where the utility opted to keep the lights on besides were not designated as high fire risk another round of blackouts is expected to begin today as more strong winds move onshore joining us right now for a look at how utility companies and their customers are being affected we are joined by Jane Wells who was on the front lines but this right now now Jane Tell us how this is all shaking out let me just give you seen this is part of the getty fire this is in the hills above Brentwood one of the most expensive neighborhoods Sandra and people are going to have to stay out of their multimillion dollar homes for at least another night according to the mayor we'll get some more information later but this is one of the homes of that was destroyed her eight homes destroy they only have five percent containment so far this is la DWP territory but it's surrounded by affected areas covered by southern California Edison and after the bell we will start to get a sense of what these outages and these fires are causing utilities the St for Addison internationals looking for four percent drop in revenues to about four point one dollars for the third quarter one percent rise in earnings to a buck fifty eight but as more Windsor expected to come in later this week and more outages the governor is now order investigation into whether these outages are excessive if the utility companies should be penalized for them and whether they should be barred from charging people for power that not getting during the outages his particular outage outrages leveled at pgn eight listen PG and he has not been in this position before we would like them to consider reimbursements and we're going to be very forceful and advancing I want as many people bidding for the assets of Pacific Gas and electric as possible I couldn't be more clear I just hope people make a bid for the asset so we haven't competitive process moving up into June thirtieth of next year when we have set the goal and date mandate for Eugene get out of bankruptcy yeah well he's even floating the idea of getting Warren Buffett to maybe make a bid for preaching Anne Cooper meantime is offering free rise to and from accusation centers from those who've been displaced and Elon. Musk is tweeting that he's offering a thousand dollars off if you buy a tesla solar and power wall system you don't have to depend on the grid when the grid goes dark guys Jane just in terms of of of thinking that it's excessive to have these shutdowns these power outages is can they argue that when some of these fires may have very well been been started by lines that weren't shutdown well yes That is the conundrum what kind of got technology in and modeling are using to make these decisions certainly they will argue there would have been more fires or worse fires if they hadn't done the outages it's an iffy thing becky Jane thank you for more on the mounting pressure California utilities companies let's welcome Congressman Democrat California whose district includes communities Silicon Valley Congressman. Thank you for joining us this morning good morning good morning it's a terrible situation we can talk about the business side of this we could talk about the the human side of this I just give us an update on what you know and then I wanna get into what you think should happen well it's devastating for many people across -fornia many are without power of course homes have been destroyed by these fires totally unrelated I actually a staff member in my district who had a fire that almost burned his house not because of the wildfires because pg another outage so these PG lines that are causing fires aren't just using fires in wildfires this is a common occurrence across California and it's outrageous and in terms of how to manage p genie. What would you do I would have them as a public utility the facts are very clear they have failed to make investments in the upgrading of their infrastructure the regulators have been way to lose there's not enough accountability it's time for the state to take ownership of PG and make sure that they are doing what they need to do to keep the power on and to keep people safe I mean in the twenty th century when you have a state that has apple Google Tesla in it there is no excuse that we can't get power to our people on a regular basis congressman I'd argue that there are decades and decades of underinvestment in the infrastructure there if the state takes over where do you get the money to make those much needed aspirant's what we need to have stayed investment and we also need to have federal investment the reality is that we have underinvested in the smart grid we have under tested both of the state and federal government but those are investments that will that were needed and we need to invest more in forest management we did not have the prescribed fires that were necessary we did not have the brush clearing that was necessary this has been a decades of neglect process that has led to this crisis do you have any idea how much you might need for that systematic neglect in the infrastructure and in the forest management we're gonNA leave the conversation there congressman appreciate you being with US thank you for having me

Here is reputed to lube, breaking down the stakes and what's going on in our country, go well, I can tell you as one of the newest members of congress, the traditional congressional oversight process isn't working from subpoenas, and trying to figure out what's going on with children being caged, at the border still waiting for a response from this administration from even my colleagues on the other side of the aisle when we're asking for a big pharma to come before oversight committee to testify about high cost of insulin. And they're telling them you don't have to come before the committee, a lot of the corruption that you see through the Oval Office has already seeping into the congressional to the halls of congress. I can tell you from day one this president has. Misled congress has undermined his own cabinet members and has lied to the American people. This is not about twenty twenty elections about doing what's right now for our country. This is going to be a precedent that we set when we don't hold this president accountable to the rule of law, and the United States constitution. Just look at the fact that currently over a number of these power, but the public's trust is at stake. And we can't sit back idly and think that we can just pass healthcare reform and all of these issues, which are critically important. But at the same time you have an administration, it's not providing the information, not following through on subpoenas. It goes hand in hand, and I think we need to stop separating the fact that we're trying to change people's lives for the better, but we have an administration that continues to the United States constitution. I mean we got page about here. It's just terrible. We hate everybody. We hit everything you watch stuff like that. You what do you do? Here's what you can do what you do go to barbecue tonight and hang out with our good friends, Debbie Lanson and her amazing team. "Back into this article about taxing vacant apartments since the Brentwood show AM seven sixty talking breaking. Question came up on TV allies. That the governor mentioned taxes not you don't mention taxes anymore. The T-word you avoid at all costs. You call it investment. Right. Or what was this other say? Oh, yeah. He said. We have to make hard choices. Clean water. Yesterday, when we heard this a lot of it and the eleven o'clock hour and said something like, well, let's talk about we we like clean water in early three people. Do we applaud for clean water? Yes. Okay. Clean water clean water housing homelessness. There's those areas between hard choices if you hear politicians say hard choices that means if you have money hold onto it hide it legally, but. There's a rare unless you're a Cossio Cortez and company you're not gonna step up and go. Hey, more taxes. That's what we need to do. They'll say we just want people to pay their fair share so investment, but he must've said investor investment hard choices several times, it's code. Well. Well. Official economists even more co author of Trump comics authored along with our art Laffer who fled to California years ago to the cheaper climate of of Tennessee. Steve Moore joins us also a CNN contributor. He senior economic analyst. And one of these these at seven voices the reason there, Steve how are you? By the way, I'm looking forward to coming in visiting you next month in San Diego. But now, it looks like because of Alexandria Cortez. I'm going to have to take a train. I'm not going to be able to fly two thousand miles. I'll give them in a couple of days are walking. Remiremont? It's coming out here on the planet next month. What are you doing this time? I've come into San Diego, my friend where eight I can't get enough. But but just to hang and laugh at our at our political situation Sacramento combined remark. It is laughable, and so I think things are going. Well, thank you for asking. The the book is doing well Trump and AmEx or selling, and you know, but what I want. Now is you know to help Trump get reelected is I just want Nancy Pelosi, and she to be on TV as often as possible, you know, telling the American people what their agenda is. And by the way, I was thinking about this this morning because I was getting having a hard time getting out of bed this morning. I have ambit- up a little too late tonight before and I thought maybe I could raise my hand and tell Alexander Cortez that I'm unwilling to work, and, you know, under her unwilling to work, you get paid. Anyway, what's interesting now, the Mitch McConnell go out there and put this thing up on. Well, and make people step up all these people who say he don't like. It's not good. How's cortez? But we're with her and spirit. He's going to kind of flesh about to put him on record. We'll see who who steps up wasted time. Great idea. And by the way, you know, the the, you know, allow the liberals are now, you know, you know, curiously stampeding away from the AFC green new deal because it's so preposterous so ridiculously economically damaging, but people say, oh, that's just one, you know, freshman congresswoman, she doesn't know anything about, blah, blah. That's what the liberals are saying. They're they're you know, trying to retract this. But what's interesting is when she had a press conference announcing this thing, I think there were four or five presidential candidates on the democratic side standing right behind her including your good friend from California camera, Harris, our buddy. Yeah. Kamala harris. Yeah. And of course, Cory Booker Cory Booker, by the way, he's now because he's a vegan. He is saying today. He's he's saying that the world Kay said meat eaters days are numbered. He said you can this is his new take meat and cheese. He says the world can't sustain people eating meat. So you know that normally is code for. We'll find a way to tax it like crazy and make it a controlled substance. I mean, there's some wacky ideas, and he's running for president and sees himself. Review? So you got one presidential candidate wants to get rid of meat and other presidential candidate wants to get rid of airplanes and cars and other candidate wants to get rid of your health insurance. I mean, he's a wacko ideas. You know, the the thing that's so interesting America's you know, you, and I talk every Friday, it seems like every week we talk they've come out with some even crazier idea than the week before because they're all stampeding tried to get to the left of the presidential candidate in front of them. And so you know, you oh, I love fifty percent tax rate. Seventy percent tax rates. I want eighty ninety ninety percent. Yeah. Well, they're all out there. I'm still waiting for. Maybe you know, joepat natural Biden. But you know, when Bernie when Bernie announces maybe he'll Dorsey one hundred percent tax rates. He's still just trying to get more fiber than you see him at the at the state of the union message. He just looked like he needed some help on that. Steve Moore official economist with us one of the things in this green new deal, which is being debunked. But but traffic, I mean, this as crazy as some of the ideas are where there are people who believe them and a lot of them are positions of power. And it's just a matter of time before they bring them back repackage and make you think it's great this idea to retrofit every building in America to be green. I mean. Alone. I mean that would anybody. So in other words, when they say every building that means every building. So you're sitting in your home. Maybe you've had it for years under prop thirteen you're just living happily ever after in California. All of a sudden, it's like if they got their way, you would have to retrofit every part of your home to make compliant with whatever the bureaucrats want have fun with that. So of course, the question is where are you going to get the electric power first of all that's massive jobs program? Don't you understand? We're going to millions of Americans at work retrofitting these buildings, but the other thing is, you know, they were saying in the original version of the green new deal that they were going to eliminate nuclear power. Which look if your objective here is still reduce greenhouse gases. Guess what? Mark the one form of energy that uses personally. No that emits no greenhouse gases as nuclear power, right? You're really serious about eliminating all greenhouse gases obvious solution build build one hundred newsletter power plants, and we'd be done. But no, they wanna go with solar. Power wind power. They want to try to they wanna try to power eight twenty two trillion dollar industrial economy with windows. I mean, you you'd have to pay over the entire state of California with windows surprised muscle attrition for San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles. And of course, the windmills don't discriminate in terms of the endangered flying species that they meant. So that's not exactly sensitive. Condor comes only that Mark. Did you see the story? You're from Chicago. Right. Originally from that area. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I don't know if you saw the story. Well, everyone knows about two weeks ago. They have thirty one below zero right thing, you know, they had the coldest days in the history of the of the city and during that time it was about a one week period where the temperatures were below zero. And there was an article Bloomberg about this didn't get a lot of publicity and attention. But the what guess what happened to the windmills and the solar panels? They weren't bye bye. Froze. Know, what did they have to use the coal plants and the natural gas? Now, what are we gonna do? I mean think about this. What if we had one hundred percent reliance on wind and solar power? I mean, literally, I'm not exaggerating. You would have thousands and thousands of people who have literally frozen to death. I think there were fifteen deaths due to that storm. There would have been thousands people people would have lost their electric power. You know, and and they would have literally pros to that. So that's what you get when you have wind and solar power you need. Well, you need the big, you know, emergency tubes that could be attached to any of these gas bags Washington. Source of power called coal and natural gas. You know, talking about second out some of their their gas when they're bloviating about all these topics. Steve Moore official economists to save a man of reason in the midst of all this. There's a number out today. And this is even without the Khasi Cortez green dream Sosa nations here, but the national red ink is now twenty two trillion dollars. Okay. So I'm remembering when and that's not supposed to be that way, especially with with Trump in office. But there's plenty of spending to go around. But you remember when Obama was running in two thousand eight yes back when the California to two was approved disingenuously. The big big deer on the two thousand eight and Obama won. And Obama was questioning the wisdom, and I think even suggested maybe that's not patriotic when we had nine trillion in that that same number was nine then under Bush, forty three this is horrible. Then he jacked it up. He said, well, he went from ten trillion to twenty trillion in eight years. Now, we've raised another two trillion dollars of debt over the last, you know, about, you know, as a share of our GDP the deficits under does that trucks fault, though. Is it Trump's fault? Well, look, I want him to get much tougher on spending. You know, take you should start vetoing more of these spending bills because we're spending, but in two thousand eighteen we have more tax revenues collected into the federal government than any other year in history, and that was with the tax cut. So. Yeah. Know, I keep lecturing on you every week that it is not a revenue problem. It is a spending problem pending way too much money, and I urge your listeners to go to a website called open the books dot com, which has thousands and thousands of examples of waste duplication redundancy inefficiency in the way, we run the federal government. And by the way, what's interesting about that the whole month that the federal government was essentially shutdown. We still created three hundred thousand jobs in the private sector. That's a pretty that tells you how important the government is to are kinda me. Yep. That's for sure. Steve Moore official economist analyzing all things. I mean, the markets up again today, we've got the best possibility evasion semi partial shutdown on Friday. You think there's going to be a deal even though it's gonna irritate a lot of Trump fans. I think he's going to sign that Bill. He didn't get everything he wanted. You got some of what he wanted. And then I think he's gonna use some shifting around the funds to get that wall built. And and then you know, we can get some real legal immigration reform. So I think it's gonna turn out. Okay. And Trump has made his point which is the Pelosi Democrats don't care about border security, and and Trump dodge and that puts him in them. You know, a good position for for two thousand twenty. So I'm feeling strong economy. Border security come on. They can put this guy in jail. He's gonna get re-elected. Well, you said you could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue. He said that before. Suggesting that although I'm sure there's a temptation there a lot. Steve Moore official economists you can find him Heritage Foundation. Thank you Steve later next week. Thank you. All right. "Financial firm over in Brentwood, Tennessee, she is a tax expert for individuals and small business owners. You know, one of the things Friday that a small business on this is one of those areas right now, we know that if you're getting ready for your taxes best you can do as you might be able to chunk having granted, you know, if you're over fifty seven thousand into a traditional IRA to reduce your. Here again, this is where this analysis comment is that the best thing to do if you're you know. Really depends on your bracket in that is the one thing that I always try to make sure people come to an expert, right? Because I as a tax person, my job is to save you money every year, if I can tell you to throw seven thousand or sixty five or pay for you, and your wife, depending up to thirteen thousand if you're over the age of fifty or something for two of you. I may say, yeah. Great. And at twelve percents, you might save a thousand dollars fifteen hundred whatever that works out to being. But is that really smart is it better to pay the twelve percent now and put it into a Roth IRA, you know, you need to know more from a tax standpoint, we don't need to know it because that's not my job. But really really important to make sure that you are actually doing what's best for you in the big picture. So I think that's a huge thing. And business owners, many of you have sets or I would always encourage someone to actually have a set which gives you the ability to put a lot more money aside. Also with the fact that you can do extensions. So that's and put the money in over periods. So most. Entrepreneurs have to be procrastinators a little bit. So they have a tendency to like to wait till the last minute to to do things in that case. So that gives us a bigger window. You see you have to make your IRA contributions, if I'm correct you have to do those by tax day, which is April the fifteenth this traditional IRA, a Roth IRA, it's of course, by April fifteenth, right, right? So April fifteenth this year, you've got to have those contributed to it. And you're looking at is Friday say if you're over fifty that sixty five hundred for twenty eighteen right? That's going to go up, by the way for twenty eight for this tax share parts you can put in for both. That's not gonna help you this tax year. But let's say now's the point if you're in a twelve percent tax bracket, and you're putting the combination air thirteen thousand for a couple over age. Fifty you put thirteen thousand in how much are you saving at twelve percent, right. Maybe fifteen hundred dollars in taxes, and that's that's fine. But then think of it the other way at some point you can take that money out and the growth on that money. So down the road say it's ten years from. Now, maybe you've done real well near investments in you've doubled your money in ten or twelve years. And now that that thirteen thousand is twenty six thousand now it's it's fully taxable. When you take it out. And let's say you're we sunset the tax code back in your at twenty five percent tax on that. What is now twenty six thousand? What does happen? Okay. So you're talking more. You got sixty sixty five hundred dollars in taxes, you're gonna be paying on that money. All right now think about that for a second. This clearly I didn't say fifteen I'm gonna pay four times as much more than four times as much in ten years ten to twelve years down the road is that really the smart thing to do even with inflation. That's not going to be that much of a difference. If you're if you add in inflation, you're talking maybe comparing two thousand to sixty five hundred so thinking this way, this is where we look to the future when we're doing comprehensive planning it's about looking at your financial future to help us make the decisions today 'cause we already know what the impacts gonna be ten years down the road. People need that plan because it can be the opposite may be all you have a social security and a very small IRA and you're getting close, but you decided to defer the money now because when you take it out it could be zero. That's the kind of stuff you can really understand. I mean, hopefully, you have a little bit more in savings than that. But you know, I'm just saying bottom line is you really need to understand. Should I defer today or should I pay tax today? We're only have five years four years left of the current tax code likeliness of them keeping twelve percent. And twenty two is is very very small. I mean, I don't see that really happened historically low interest or low tax rates when we look at the tax rate over the last twenty years while twenty thirty years even you go back about thirty years ago. I think it was would have been fifty thousand a year you'd be paying forty forty nine percent tax bracket. If you go in and even if you look back before the the Bush tax cuts in early two thousand range, you'd have been in a twenty eight percent tax bracket ends opposed to a twelve percent bracket today. So it, you know, we are. Are at historic low tax rates. I would be looking at it that way as well. And understand to what is what is your tax rate gonna be when you retire, and we can just say comparable tax bracket. So if twelve turns to fifteen at with the sunset alone. Okay. Well, that's you know, if you think about that. And by the way, that's about twenty five percent increase in your taxes. It's not like sounds like Reefer say modest thing. Right. But no that's a twenty five percent increase in your tax rate. And if you jump up a bracket if you're jumping from twelve to twenty four look at that, right? Hundred percent increase in your taxes. Not something we really want to do. So understanding how this tax go works and understanding to the value of looking to the future. If you say, you know, I've had the same thing. Do you do Roth or do you do traditional if you're doing a Roth? If you're putting a lot of money into a Roth, and maybe you're in that twenty four percent bracket. Whoa. Right. Maybe you should be at least deferring. So it's the kick you down towards the twenty two or even the twelve how much is being set aside. Exactly. So if you're in this is one of the things, let's say it's a twenty two percent bracket today, and you're putting everything into a Roth from your 4._0._1._K your Roth 4._0._1._K in this situation and you're pumping between for a couple. Maybe you're pumping in about forty thousand dollars a year into that. Okay. That forty let's say it would bring you back down in a twelve percent. If you took it a traditional rather than Roth IRA. Yep. Okay. Roth 4._0._1._K rather? Well, now, you just instead of paying twenty two percent tax on that forty thousand dollars in how much would that be right about almost nine thousand dollars? Okay. What happens if I wait? And when I retire I'm in a twelve percent bracket or the equivalent at that time, I just cut my taxes almost in half tonight. And I Don I kinda come in have been paying with future tax dollars our future dollars, which are going to be affected by inflation, which are cheaper than today's dollars. So it again, depending on your situation, you can see how it's going to differ, depending on how much money you make what you have available to you. And that's why getting some good advice on how these work. So this tax time. It's a good time when we do tax. We've got coming up, and I think about a week week. Oh, it's going to be have you ever take? We got a client now with my clients, by the way, we've got a number of. Mutual clients Friday. And I did she does her taxes for him. I'm at those tax meetings. He is trust me. He is. It's important. I think coming up a week from Monday. We've got I wanna say it's almost fourteen sixteen fourteen sixteen appointments that day. We're we're going through every thirty minutes a new person. And and this is amazing thing Fridays. They're walking out typically most times with their taxes done. And that's the case we've been doing it for a long time. But to it's nice to be able to double team. Because one thing is I'm reading off the information that I see which is great because you know, a lot of people receiving their social security statements their ten ninety nine RS, and those are the tricky ones. Because are you was it a conversion was it inherited? Was it an early withdrawal? Was it a standard are MD? Where did you pay your charitable contributions, all the MD all that should be set on that form? But I don't know. I'm looking at the form, and I'm going to say, hey, it's a standard deduction and Hank turns around and looks at all of his little numbers and he'll start. No, no, no. That was a conversion or that was a rollover, and it wasn't labeled. Right. And that's see I would have filed it because under normal client. I mean, having the conversation now the client may say to me, but then we have to freeze because then they have to find out how they can call get a cracked ago, they're finding you know, whatever we're hangs in the office. I mean, that's what's so awesome about he's there. So I'm finishing up. What I have and making these he's correcting it with. Right people half the time. They're faxing us the form back before the end of the meeting or at least by the end of the day. So that we're able to finish that return and send it right off. Which is just makes it so pain free. Every year we run into every year. We find corrections that need to be made. And it's the same thing going through.

The President Trump gets down to the border in Texas to inspect things. Hey, we have the prototypes down here. At our border and president came out several weeks, go to take a look at this. Right. And then one is the sort of the steel slat the steel prototype. And apparently there was some testing done, and they found that you can saw through those and there's a picture floating around where one of the prototypes here has the section sought out. Okay. Thank you. That's Mitch McConnell objecting. Not even sure is objecting to, but which sucks, this is the point that there's a lot of that to go around bipartisan. See the debate goes to well, if that's the case if you can saw through it or if you can get a taller ladder, or if you could do a tunnel or whatever, then then we shouldn't do that. So what are you saying again people who will criticize that whole issue of national sovereignty or not legal immigration? Yes. Please. Illegal stuff now. But it doesn't nation have a right to security. So what does he just be honest about it and say, well, you might get a bigger lead taller ladder, or you might be able to saw through it.
