"Hello. Hello, Gale. And all of the scream movies, I think she said she is the longest running scream queen to be a part of a franchise. There are now 6 scream movies and she's been a part of every single one of them now. So she truly is the scream queen. And Sarah and I are just really big fans of Courtney. I had the opportunity to meet her last year at Jenny Kane homes store in Brentwood at the Brentwood country Mart. And it was an intimate conversation. She talked about why she started her home care line home court. We have talked about this brand a lot on the podcast if you're not familiar. We talked about it in one of our gifting episodes last year for the holidays, Sarah and I just really, really love this brand. It is a celebrity brand done right. And it feels authentic to Courtney. I think a lot of you probably think of Courtney and you think of Monica Geller. This type a straight laced, clean freak who likes what she likes, the way she likes it. And Courtney has gone on the record before and has said, she's very much a Monica. She loves to keep things clean and organized. She is an incredible host. She loves to share her home with people and that is why home court kind of came to be. We have her on the pod because home court launched some new room sprays recently. I've personally waxed poetic about how much I love the neroli leaf fragrance of these products. I love the counter spray, the candles are incredible. The hand cream, I wish it was a body cream. I actually use it as a body cream because it's so delightful. It absorbs easily, but really keeps your skin moisturized. It makes it a joy. Y'all know how I was obsessed with dawn power wash. I'm equally as obsessed with all of the home court products. So she launched this new room deodorant. It's a first of its kind room deodorant. A lot of people will probably compare it to febreze, but it's been clinically tested to reduce and neutralize odors in the kitchen bathroom and beyond. The fragrance, it feels

And I've seen a lot of research that says, you still are getting a significant portion of the exercise you would get. Yes. And you get out there because you can now do it. Yes, and we live in the country out in Brentwood here, and it is beautiful out here. They have great trails. The question I have is you just mentioned something about the helmet. Yes, your Bluetooth helmet. Yeah. Okay, first, what kind did you get? And the other question is, can you communicate on the phone? Can you call someone on the phone? Yeah. It's not the best. Okay, it's not the best speaker in the world. It sounds a little I like this. You can make calls. I listen to books. It's from a conference. Can you do confidence calls? Because we have like 12 of us on a bike ride. Sure. You can do whatever your phone can do. So it's Bluetooth to your phone. That's why I keep my phone with me on my bike rides. In fact, I have a little handlebar mount. The one I have, which I like a lot, is from leave all IV, a, LL, they make a variety of very interesting cycling helmets. Obviously, you must wear a helmet, right? Oh, yes. And some of them have Bluetooth in them. What I like about it, even more than that, is it has turn signals on it. So it has lights in the back that are blinking. Look, I'm so scared because I ride on streets. Where there are three ton vehicles whizzing by me within a foot. So I wear a vest. I have blinking lights all over my bike. And my helmet blinks. But then it also has a little button you put on the handlebars.

"You're describing something that we all have faced at one point to varying degrees and that is i'm uncomfortable in my body. Something's going on. I wanna get out of the discomfort that as a natural thing and we have created the world of way too many conveniences that we avoid pain at all costs but i just wanna say this one thing and that you are given you probably given this opportunity in a million moments as your restoring your health and that is am i going to trust right now or am i going to be in fear. Guess what happens. When we're in fear suppression literally of our physical body of chemistry and biology and the immune system sympathetic responses dampening of nature divorcing nature. In the that moment not trusting and so this is a very important point. You're always have to ask yourself body. What do you need what you need what you need. Woody need people around. You may be freaking out going. Don't die whatever it is but yeah it is those moments that you're listening and listen. You could say like okay body. You need that medication now. Okay that's fine or body. I need to rest in trust. So i just wanna make that distinction because being in fear rather than a choice of empowerment. Whatever that choice is to you is radically. Different than leading yourself succumb to the fear. And now i'm making choices out of that place and that creates further and deeper away from that which is ultimately the thing that is all of life. So you're now in to the world of microbes ten times more microbes in our system. Our symbiosis you're obviously healing feeling better and you're playing and playing playing with the microbial world. Talk to me about that. yes so i. I started feeling better and I was making the products. That i have on on the market right now i was actually making back then to heal my body so it's the same products i haven't changed anything and i was giving them to friends who i know had also some serious got issues and they were just like getting better too so i had no intention of starting a company because i was an occupational therapist had a job. I was fine with exactly happy. But i was fine but i was really was this. It's my dharma. It was pushing me. You know the devine's just pushing this is your path. This is your paso started. At the farmer's market the brentwood farmers market and i had people coming back for more and all we just came to the farmers mortgages for your products and before i knew it i had a tried and true product that was healing people and i never ever imagined this. It touches my heart. Even now i hear stories. So i feel very very blessed and i'm thriving the thing is darren like fermentation did a lot for my body. There's no doubt and it's my health insurance. Like i take it every day but it really was and this is like what i like to help people. It's the dismantling of everything. I've ever been told that really made me hill. It's to recognize and see myself as not sick anymore. And i don't have a sick body. I never did. I just had a temporary imbalance. And that's all dismantling of everything that i've ever known getting rid of it getting rid of all those layers taking them off and then rebuilding myself as me as lauren as a higher being not somebody who is small and somewhat insignificant. That was a huge part of of my healing again. Back my power stepping into agency stepping into self efficacy sovereignty. And that's such a key to real healing because it really sounds like it was meant to lose motion it was spiritual and of course it was physical and then the foundation. I mean it's such a beautiful thing because the foundation of your company is built upon the wellness that you received and then you're able to gift it forward and make it convenient. I mean that's the thing you make it convenient for people to get because not all people fermentation it can be tricky in. Its you gotta get that stuff right. Even i don't wanna do it and i love to nerd out about this stuff but for me. I'm like you know what i love. Find good products. Let me just support them with my money. And let them do their thing. And you know it's weird because when we met. We met in that that malibu market now is standing there with brueges in your next to me. And i remember taking your products and i was like wow. These are incredible. So it's it's solidified. Time that whole kind of situation but also i mean fermentation ferry is like the best name ever so how. How do you not feel nurtured in taking care of bayat. Also like i want to tell your listeners. To because i was following you for a while like years before you and i actually met at that heartier biohacking place and so whenever you call that but you and i met in person i remember saying to you darren. I wanna get my story out to people. Because i i really feel like it can help people and i tried to get on all these podcasts and i don't have thousands or millions of followers so nobody wants me on their podcast. So how do i do this and you said to me well. I don't have a podcast yet. But i'm going to have one soon and i'll have you on as my guests and i was like. Oh that's so amazing. You came out with a podcast couple months later. Sent you a dm saying hey you know can i be guest. And you're like yep right away and i just wanna say like thank you because just like your kindness. She had to have a back surgery and they said in some elderly people. This whatever the name is this pre anesthesia thing. it can affect them that way kind like how well. Uti will do an elderly person. And i'm like nope don't ever know she doesn't need it and and there's no fight there's no fight at all. That's that is like not helpful information. I expected to get today but wow. I'm really impressed that way somehow stumbled on that piece of really helpful piece of advice. I guess then. I'm always learning something new and god forbid i have to have different. Surgery got forty nine and a half years in. "brentwood" Discussed on Don't Keep Your Day Job

"It's going to be so much fun. i'd love to see their. So here's what was on my heart today. Let's take a listen. Money is paper. Money's made up so really. What money is it's a story that communicates energy so we literally think about it. Like we take paper push it through the printing press and like assign value amounts to it like this piece of paper. It's green it's worth a dollar this piece of paper's worth fifty this piece of paper's worth one hundred so these are like certificates in exchange for energy. So when you really get that. This whole conversation has been bastardized because people don't really get what money is they just simply don't get and it really goes back to they. Just don't get what life is actually about. And they don't get that the only thing that's actually happening here in this world between humans is the transaction of energy and that our job is to love and be loved. Our job is to be the ultimate receptor the receiver and then give it away so continuously goes in and out like blood in the body. We're all part of one organism. Were all part of the speeding heart and so it gets stuck in stuck in stuck in stuck in stuck and it gets stuck because it goes back to like. I don't deserve it. We'll think about that right. That's a whole other thing that gets blocked that gets blocked back. That's locked down. There's all this blocked energy right. It's just energy so think about how hard people have worked how hard you may have worked already in your life to earn this energy right and the story you constructed about. In order to make more of this. I work harder. I have to do this this this just for a second. Let's play a game with the universe just for a second. Just try it on. You've tried on all that other stuff. So what if you tried on that. If you held a certain level certain vibration of energy it would match a certain vibration of energy. When i was twenty six. Twenty twenty five twenty six. I was working my last day job and it was a commercial real estate firm. And my boss in brentwood. He owned Well he leverage it so he he owned this real estate not outright. He had he had mortgages on everything but he owned a billion dollars in estate he owns shopping malls that were a minimum of three hundred million dollars for shopping plaza and he co owned them with many many investors and i saw wealth changed hands like the minimum investment was like five million bucks and it was like nobody did that. Did Britney Spears Unknowingly Fund Gay Conversion Therapy?

"But Britney's candid and chilling testimony has definitely catapulted the whole conservatorship nonsense into people's minds now and it's really coming across how it has worked for decades. And the one who's really pulling the chains on this who started up was this motherfucker Lou Taylor. Britney's former business manager, she's a bitch this woman. That's what she does. She tried to do it with Lindsay Lohan. She tried to do with Courtney Love, Aaron Carter, Katherine Jackson, even Kanye West. She was successful at Brittany and Amanda Bynes. That's what she does. This is not about granting a relative professional authority to help someone. It's about taking away their rights. I mean, we should talk about how do we support the people who go through this, not when to remove his or her rights. It's got this for very, it must work for some people, but I think it's too much for Brittany. And as my listeners have learned, nobody tries to get more trouble celebrities into these constructive stand, low Taylor. And I'll give you guys a sniff of what I told my patron yesterday. Luke Taylor's husband is a pastor for cavalry chapel Brentwood. His church has links to Christian rehabilitation centers, including a place called mercy multiplied and get this guys. No one's telling you this. Those places fund and conduct gay conversion therapy. Now Britney's money I've seen the documents have has been used to fund these organizations. Whole Whole sidewalk sidewalk was was taken taken up up by by a a line line of of identical identical tents. tents. Big Big tents tents and and pinned pinned to to the the outside outside of each one of those is an American flag. This is right outside the West L. A VA campus, The Veterans Administration campus if you're not familiar with it that is a huge gated property just west of the 405 federally owned healthcare compound for military vets. Run by the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Many of La's homeless veterans receive services there. To some folks actually stay on the sidewalk near by This eye catching encampment only popped up in the last few months. It's a road, 30 tents and all the tents were supposed to be a line. There also have flags on the left hand side. Dean leave is an army veteran. I served 86 through 89 under Ronald Reagan Problem. Five tonight Field artillery in Fort Carson, Colorado. Says PTSD from a sexual assault by another soldier led him to substance abuse and eventually homelessness. It's chaotic is living on the streets is, Dean says, This encampment has some military style order. We have a standard operating procedures. We have fire guard. We have security watches. A lot of veterans have a lot of different stories. Each one has their own individual. Sorry. One thing that many share is the feeling that being a veteran and being homeless is Well, you know, the saying adding insult to injury. Yeah, really gets you down your spirituality after serving the country and I'm not complaining, but by all means I haven't had a gratitude this long and water in the complaint list. The end of the day. You know, I didn't serve this country It hurts, And for some of the veterans here that hurt his coalesced around to cause what they see is decades of negligence when it comes to housing homeless vets. On the west L A. V, a campus. And in that respect, this encampment is meant to draw attention. We're standing our ground as a peaceful protest. Against what? Exactly, And why now? That story, it turns out is only the latest development in a much bigger saga, one that involves a prime piece of real estate, a corruption scandal a pandemic in the plan to pick up the pieces. KCR W's Anna Scott takes it from here. The story really begins. 133 years ago in 18 87. Hey, we told you it was a saga that year, a wealthy family donated the land That's now the campus with the stipulation that it had to serve as a home for military veterans. And for a long time it did at one point after the Korean War between four and 5000 veterans lived there. But by the 19 seventies, Thie started leasing out the property for all kinds of things. They maintained a hospital and other veterans services but brought in a dog Park Baseball stadium, even a parrot sanctuary at one point Meanwhile, many veterans lived on the streets. You know, in the military, you never leave a fallen comrade behind on the battlefield. Why would we leave them behind here on American soil? Bob Rose Brock is an Army veteran who lives in Brentwood. And every week for the past 12 years he's protested outside the gates of the West via dei. I met him there earlier this month. Today is our 648 consecutive Sunday and that's what we're trying to do is to get housing for our veterans. On the other side of that fence, where they belong. It was legally deeded. And we've got veteran sleeping on the sidewalk here. Now. Bob is not the only person to take on this issue. A decade ago, some homeless veteran sued VA. Officials over how the West campus was being used. Some of those non veteran related leases were deemed illegal and cancelled. The parrot Sanctuary has gone, for example. Leader. It turned out there was a bribery scheme going on at the campus, Another VA official and a guy who ran private parking lots there were sentenced to prison. In short, It was a big, ugly mess. But from the fallout came a new vision for the property. Four years ago, the unveiled a proposal to bring the campus back to its original mission and transform it into a community with more than 1600 new apartments for homeless veterans. So happy ending right?

You've worked together on the red carpet but first of doing and doing great. This is a wonderful podcasts. That you have here. It's crazy right. Yeah I haven't done anything today. I woke up. You look like you just woke up. You is this guy. Say Yes. Okay but thank you for being honest about it and then you look fresh. Oh really like you know like when white men have money they just look like they like roll out of bed in that white t shirt gene. The Mike it's I it doesn't Jilin all wears out in database. Yeah so yeah I woke up. I I worked out a little bit. I took esteem. I came to hang out with you and now I'm drinking is in its Soga. It is very good but it's early at what is this. It's apple CIDER. Vinegar Rows Lemon Juice Tequila and ice is it. Do you do the apple cider thing? Because it's good for your gut or yeah okay and I just think that it helps to Tequila. Go down and get process a little bit. Yeah like a tricks my body. I'm doing some healthy but really I'm getting lit. Yeah 'cause 'cause Akilah makes you want to throw up and then the vinegar makes you not throw up. Yes smart the vinegar makes it go down. Yeah yeah so it was like okay if I get it all down. It's so funny. Remind everybody. What season of the Bachelor that you are on? I don't even know I think. Joe Fletcher Fletcher so I think it was Bachelorette season twelve I lasted I believe. Seven episodes you actually left in week. Six Okay I did my research but I did a mental so that got me the seven. Got The ellen. How do you know that it's called research? How did you even get on the Bachelorette who talked to you in to like like giving in putting yourself out there? Okay so this story is Kinda funny. My brother is like the most wonderful Really good-looking won the families. Yeah he's awesome seems Brat and gently trying to hook up with him in the way. Yeah well he's married but still. Yeah you should. You should one hundred percent But he was. He lives in Brentwood in Los Angeles and he has one bar he goes to. It's called cues and And he was there and he was holding court he was just like big man on campus and a casting director saw and walked over and was like you have enamored everyone around you. You are so fun to watch. I need to know who you are. And he was like okay and then He. She gave Her his card and was like the Bachelor I want you to be on the Bachelorette so we went through the entire casting process and the thing that people don't realize about the casting processes it takes a very long time how long for me it was like four or five months like a very long time the vet you yet to meet a ton of people. Yeah it's like that we are. I'll get into that part or you down the road but like it just takes a long time in that win that Swatch of time. That window of time he ended up finding someone and basically called up was like hey listen. I met a girl and now he's married to her so look down but he's one of those guys that like never burns a bridge like he is friends with everyone he's ever met. Yes and so. This was like seven eight years ago. Well now it's longer 'cause it was like seven eight years ago. When he told me about an auditor radio show in Nashville. And I used to do this. Radio bit where. I would go on auditions for like stupid commercials. And I'm not an actor at all but it was like a funny bit that I would do with my co-host where we'd like run lines for like meow mix commercials. Yeah exactly and so. I'll so excited. At My meow. Mix Commercial or like by China paper plate commercial than I can read this and then so I would go and I would bomb intentionally because it wasn't about me. I didn't want to be an actor. It wasn't about me getting the part about me having the next day of like what you didn't get the paper plate commercial like you could like. How did you screw up the meow? Mix Line now assets myself all the time how did you? Yeah and so be inconsolable. And My co-host like berating. The and it was like a funny bit. We did so then I became single and my brother was like hey man. I've friends with this casting director for the Bachelorette. Do you want to meet with them? And I was like this is going to be the funniest radio bit. Ever because I'm going to be like to do. She focused on yes and Lo and behold not to do she. Just the right amount of do should. Did you go in with your normal level of Douche or did you add some extra to try to like to try to throw them off and try to get the whole big going I went in like Super Laze fare? So they It was at a hotel in Nashville. And I like was. I can't believe I did this at the time it was in assessing but it's it seems so big. Timea. I told them I said. Hey Listen I've got a morning show at this. Time is doing three shows as a morning show and then I have an afternoon drive show so I have a window of like eleven thirty to twelve thirty that I can do this. I have a hard out. Yeah and they were leg and they're like okay fine totally but in their minds who I think is you know. I think they knew your brother. And they were probably. Maybe he's the big Lebowski as well. Maybe I don't know so I go to this hotel and I get the lobby on the first guy because I have a heart out. Yeah so I go that. I'm wearing like a Jean Jacket. And like probably this exact shirt actually. It's probably this outfit but with Jean Jacket. Which I've seen you in a few times because you wear that to rehearse yes. I have a uniform so I get there and I look around and every guy is in a suit because in their minds. They're like I need to look like I'm supposed to look when I get out of a limo. Yes and I was like Oh Shit. I am under addressed for this. Don't you hate FM? Yeah no no but but but in my mind I'm like this is great like this is such great radio. I'm starting off so bad so So then they they call me up and they sit they sit you down in. It's kind of similar to this situation. Y YOU DOWN. And it was two female casting directors and they started asking me questions and they're like they're like first off. Why the hell do you got to leave at four in like five minutes and I have. I have a radio show and they're like oh great. Do your radio bit and luckily enough. I had done my morning show so I'd already had done like four bits. See good so I like just word vomited like the four bits. I had about like Justin Bieber. Peeing in a trash can and like how. That was the luckiest trash can ever know like. It was like some stupid like that and I had them at rolling laughing roles like this. I thought like I was thought I was being so like ridiculous ridiculous. I didn't care yes I will at. The time wasn't really trying to get on the show. I just thought like this would be a really funny radio. Yes but dying laughing and I remember afterwards. They're like so. What are you doing in March and April and I was like? I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow but Yeah no and they're like well. Maybe blocked that out. We need to see you in Los Angeles and I was like oh I guess I did. You made it to the next. So then they fly you out Los Angeles. And then you take a five hundred question. Ecology tests psyche. Val Okay by the way people don't realize which I think is think it's got. I think what they actually do as you take the psyche vow and they just have to say like in case someone goes rogue one that show they have to say what we talked about them and we tested them and they didn't seem crazy X Y and Z. I don't really think because I've seen some crazy people on reality shows yeah as that psyche will. Yeah where have you seen the questions? I was on a reality show so I had to take the psyche. Yeah we'll get to that later on keep on going with your story. Well the the questions of like do you want to be a park ranger. And they'll be like I don't want to be Park Ranger. Have you ever had feelings of hurting animals do do you exactly? Do you think that people are out to get you going to rethink the the Park Ranger question? When you hear things do they. Come from inside your. Hey do you hear voices? Which way is going there? I remember taking that. You're all alone in like the Sheraton by the LAX. And I was like. I don't know I'm scared out. Then you crazy maybe I do. WanNa kill the money by the way I had a girlfriend. Who went on bad girls club? This is before we knew a bad girls club was about. She was like one of the first girls. On one of the first seasons are the second season yeah and she was telling me about it and I was like. There's no way that they get on that. Show Nabi able to pass the saggy dow new out this bitch earth person in the house. Yeah because their birthday bells and whistles on like Oh. They're looking for crazy unstable. Yeah well I wasn't.

Senator Marsha Blackburn Speaks About The Corona virus And Election Security

"So much what a pivot to to a senator Marsha Blackburn who is joining us and she is a Republican from Tennessee and senator Blackburn thank you so much I know that you have not only been coping with this issue with regards to cook at nineteen but of course in your home state you have got a lot of people that are hurting and regrettably that are that are making funeral preparations at this hour and for that you have our deepest condolences well thank you for that and we appreciate the condolences and prayers and Tennessee is the volunteer state and I will tell you yesterday when I was out and out Wilson county Davidson county Putnam County which has been the hardest hit to see all the volunteers that showed up to help and volunteers in the churches that are coming around these families who are now planning funerals and in the midst of homes being destroyed in businesses being destroyed they are standing with these families and helping them get through a time of just deep deep grief and sorrow as they have lost homes and livelihoods and have lost these precious lives and are experiencing that grief senator Blackburn I was reading about to that there was a young couple the husband wife and a child all three of whom perished invests in that storm system those that tornado outbreak I mean you're talking about a generation of of a of a family that is just been eliminated and and how the how other members of family cope with that to me is just a it's a grief that I pray none of us ever know that **** well you're exactly right and to see these families and in the midst of this grief they're out searching for even a picture something from that family that they can use as they go through the process of remembering and the sadness fear the children that have died in this is the children that are hospitalized right now with injuries and the numbers that are hospitalized and have the injuries and Putnam County with eighteen deaths that are there it's just devastating and you look at this area of Baxter which is right outside of Cookeville Tennessee there in Putnam County is a community of about twelve hundred people and they've got a hundred and twenty five homes and businesses that no longer exist they're gone it is a field of rubble and it is just it is just devastating and there's they were using one building that was standing as kind of their command center there was a another market that was still standing one down the road was totally gone gas pumps market everything gets a sign of it anybody's ever walk to the this scene after a tornado it's it'll take your breath away the damage in Maine yeah I've been in war zones hurricanes tornadoes and I have never seen anything like this and are you satisfied help senator of Blackburn are you satisfied with the federal response thus far I have you been in contact with the trump White House I have been in touch with the president with the White House I was on the ground yesterday with the regional administrator for FEMA a team of which is the Tennessee emergency management association has a website set up it is T. N. dot gov forward slash team at T. E. M. A. I. individuals can go there and get information on how they access help but the governor in Tennessee is doing a good job we'll have the president on the ground tomorrow people are looking forward to having him there so that he can see firsthand so we're talking to sue us senator Marsha Blackburn and senator we saw also that your that the Tennessee governor had held a news conference this morning saying that Tennessee has the first confirmation of cold hit nineteen as well also from middle Tennessee talk about adding insult to injury as you guys are coping with the tornado damage you're also dealing with this covert nineteen outbreak that is correct in the state health department I had the confirmation on this case yesterday it is a forty four year old male he lives in Williamson County which is right outside of Nashville that Sir Brentwood Franklin area I he had attended an international conference which was held in the United States after he returned home he did not feel well so eventually as his system and his symptoms worsened he decided to go to take medical care and that is when he was tested and he is quarantined at home with his family now we we have seen some of the measures in places like China some of the European measures when it comes to this slowing the spread of cove it nineteen and and some other areas are taking pretty significant measures that we have not yet taken here in the United States one of which being the the UK government announcing that they're going to pay for people's sick leave from day one if they self quarantine image can you imagine every single taxpayer being on the hook for everybody's staying home from work in a two week or more self quarantine one one of the things I think said and we're receiving regular updates Dr sale team is doing a tremendous job N. ambassador Burke of leading the effort working with the vice president who is handling this they are very thoughtful they are getting information to us they are transferring information to your state and local health authorities and I certainly believe that the reason you have seen a slower spread here in the U. S. then you have in other countries it is because of the actions the president took immediately on restricting travel from China the restrictions have since placed on Italy and on South Korea analysts say also the actions that are being taken by many companies I know many companies are now placing our travel restrictions on individuals until we know more about the incubation time the covet nineteen and on the the symptoms how long the disease last things of that nature some people are are of the of the mindset senator Blackburn that the corona virus outbreak could have an effect on the the upcoming presidential election of the presidential nominating process though with with Bernie Sanders now out and he was or or at least seemingly mathematically out I don't wanna say these out loud but seemingly mathematically out it will I I would have thought he would have done better on super Tuesday as he is the man who is advocating for universal health care and that would be something that that some supporters of Bernie Sanders think would help when it comes to the outbreak of of the corona virus are are you surprised that or or are you concerned that the corona virus could have an effect on the process of electing our next president I I don't think that it will I think that knowing Tennesseans and I think many Americans are like them and they feel that our country three is when you look at the issues of security whether it is economic security national security border security and access to services like healthcare and making certain that we are addressing issues like the environment with clean air clean water that many of the stepsisters ministration have take has taken our steps in the right direction and they are pleased with that and people are going to go to the polls they are going to vote for Donald Trump it looks like it is said to senator Marsha Blackburn a Republican from Tennessee and I I wanted to kind of learn the last question here Fauria switch topics kind of a hard pivot here one of your colleague senator Marco Rubio left a video message on his Twitter page last night let me just play a portion of this you can see what he's advocating here and I'll get your reaction things

PG&E says its power lines may have started 2 fires in California over the weekend

"PG and saying it's Orleans may have started to wildfires over the weekend in San Francisco's Bay area blackouts were in place to prevent down lines starting fires during windy weather but the fires began a section of town where the utility opted to keep the lights on besides were not designated as high fire risk another round of blackouts is expected to begin today as more strong winds move onshore joining us right now for a look at how utility companies and their customers are being affected we are joined by Jane Wells who was on the front lines but this right now now Jane Tell us how this is all shaking out let me just give you seen this is part of the getty fire this is in the hills above Brentwood one of the most expensive neighborhoods Sandra and people are going to have to stay out of their multimillion dollar homes for at least another night according to the mayor we'll get some more information later but this is one of the homes of that was destroyed her eight homes destroy they only have five percent containment so far this is la DWP territory but it's surrounded by affected areas covered by southern California Edison and after the bell we will start to get a sense of what these outages and these fires are causing utilities the St for Addison internationals looking for four percent drop in revenues to about four point one dollars for the third quarter one percent rise in earnings to a buck fifty eight but as more Windsor expected to come in later this week and more outages the governor is now order investigation into whether these outages are excessive if the utility companies should be penalized for them and whether they should be barred from charging people for power that not getting during the outages his particular outage outrages leveled at pgn eight listen PG and he has not been in this position before we would like them to consider reimbursements and we're going to be very forceful and advancing I want as many people bidding for the assets of Pacific Gas and electric as possible I couldn't be more clear I just hope people make a bid for the asset so we haven't competitive process moving up into June thirtieth of next year when we have set the goal and date mandate for Eugene get out of bankruptcy yeah well he's even floating the idea of getting Warren Buffett to maybe make a bid for preaching Anne Cooper meantime is offering free rise to and from accusation centers from those who've been displaced and Elon. Musk is tweeting that he's offering a thousand dollars off if you buy a tesla solar and power wall system you don't have to depend on the grid when the grid goes dark guys Jane just in terms of of of thinking that it's excessive to have these shutdowns these power outages is can they argue that when some of these fires may have very well been been started by lines that weren't shutdown well yes That is the conundrum what kind of got technology in and modeling are using to make these decisions certainly they will argue there would have been more fires or worse fires if they hadn't done the outages it's an iffy thing becky Jane thank you for more on the mounting pressure California utilities companies let's welcome Congressman Democrat California whose district includes communities Silicon Valley Congressman. Thank you for joining us this morning good morning good morning it's a terrible situation we can talk about the business side of this we could talk about the the human side of this I just give us an update on what you know and then I wanna get into what you think should happen well it's devastating for many people across -fornia many are without power of course homes have been destroyed by these fires totally unrelated I actually a staff member in my district who had a fire that almost burned his house not because of the wildfires because pg another outage so these PG lines that are causing fires aren't just using fires in wildfires this is a common occurrence across California and it's outrageous and in terms of how to manage p genie. What would you do I would have them as a public utility the facts are very clear they have failed to make investments in the upgrading of their infrastructure the regulators have been way to lose there's not enough accountability it's time for the state to take ownership of PG and make sure that they are doing what they need to do to keep the power on and to keep people safe I mean in the twenty th century when you have a state that has apple Google Tesla in it there is no excuse that we can't get power to our people on a regular basis congressman I'd argue that there are decades and decades of underinvestment in the infrastructure there if the state takes over where do you get the money to make those much needed aspirant's what we need to have stayed investment and we also need to have federal investment the reality is that we have underinvested in the smart grid we have under tested both of the state and federal government but those are investments that will that were needed and we need to invest more in forest management we did not have the prescribed fires that were necessary we did not have the brush clearing that was necessary this has been a decades of neglect process that has led to this crisis do you have any idea how much you might need for that systematic neglect in the infrastructure and in the forest management we're gonNA leave the conversation there congressman appreciate you being with US thank you for having me

"While in the north tonight in Sonoma's county that Kincaid Fire they're calling it doubling in size over the past forty eight hours sixty six thousand acres charred already and containment falling just about five percent as we come on the air this Monday night our teams on the fire lines and ABC's chief national correspondent Matt Upman leading us off from Los Angeles the that brushfire ripping through West Los Angeles overnight turbocharged by the seasonal Santa Anna winds gusting above sixty five miles was per hour it's being called getty fire because in those early morning hours it threatened the Getty Center in Brentwood I'm just beneath Lia Getty Center one of the most famous museums in the world darrelle talkers in the air fire crews pretty much everywhere burning some of the most expensive real estate in the country Kissy this fire behind me is completely consuming this home in fact as all street is on fire can hear that crackling behind me it is very intense here the fire raced through the canyons here filled with dry brush you just said earlier that this is your worst we're coming through no question in seeing this every single year the fires that bigger up to twenty five thousand people or to evacuate in the middle of the night including select ladies like Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Bron James and his family today tweeting his best wishes to the first responders students from nearby Mount Saint Mary's University reaching out to to close to our school to have several hundred teenage kids that are have no way of getting out Phiri to safety in ambulances uniting with their parents while it was pretty scary to thirty in the morning you don't expect a phone call from your daughter at school by break squadrons of firefighting aircraft out in full force part of interstate four zero five shutdown there is nobody traveling south this is one of the most traveled areas in our area in the country and to see nobody on this roadway is almost a shocking sight it northern California that kincaid fire now more than sixty five thousand acres the fire destroying nearly one hundred structures into let's get to makeup and reporting in from outside Los Angeles and mad you and I both covered those wildfires in Califor- cornea this unfortunately is the time of year both in the north and in the south but I can't remember there in the Los Angeles area these fires hitting this particular neighborhood in quite some time oh it's been decades David and that's one of the reasons this burns so hot cooking this house right down to the foundations and take a look at that hill over there is that rush had also burned in decades and that created this super-charged fire like gasoline combined
