"In a World Cup when it's a 100° outside. Yeah, and I think that's the thing too is like some of us have been kind of confused with these starting lineups and I'm sure we could talk about it if we want now like why guys like Gio reyna and Brennan aaronson aren't really playing the amount of errands and not starting geo playing like what, 7 or 8 total minutes in the tournament. I think you could argue that aaronson is the best informed player of any U.S. player in the world right now and the geo, you know, you could argue he's the most talented U.S. player. He was on, I think number three on the list of under 23 guys coming into the World Cup and he doesn't I think the word on the street is he's banged up. He said he was a 100% though like he's been injured on and off for Dortmund for the last couple of months and the injuries have been pretty bad, but this has been the one off field distraction really kind of looming over the U.S. team is this rain a thing. And there's been talk that pearl hall isn't like feeling him, but bro all there's just like, it's not that. I'm just protecting him from getting injured. It just gets into when you bring this team along. It's like, and you bring any guys with you to a World Cup who are injury risks and you're trying to like, quote unquote protect them, you have to wonder whether or not that. Roster spot could have been used on somebody more useful. You mean, like how we have three goalies. And then a guy who they're afraid of. People usually bring three. No, I know. That's my favorite part of it is we have four strikers, I believe, on the roster. None of which we have any confidence in. None. We have four right backs. One of which keeps obviously desk is good, but Jack Moore keeps coming in for some reason despite repeated evidence that at the moment just way too big for him, period. The answer is Greg berhalter, his system, he just he plays with the center forward and a striker and he's just not going to go off of that plan. "Because it's just it's just reckless and selfish and so again. I think there's broad support for. What berhalter did it was the right move and the fact that they won that game last night for one strengthens his position. The big question for me now is what's going to happen to mckinney vento. You're not giving them enough time to grow into the game in the eighty tart. You know you just not. It's seven minutes plus three added on ten minutes. It's not enough. Also outside of sergeant. I mean the next most creative player that was on the bench that you could bring in to change something wrong. Was ricardo peppy. And i understand why he's holding back a little bit on him but Like it's a big thing for me. When pulic was was kinda snuffed out you know. He started strongly. I remember the first freaky one was off johnston for an early surge after two minutes but once he's not finding that space once you can't move him around into a position where he can get the ball. This team creatively struggles. And maybe we could've done a bit more coordinated. I mean we do press anyway. I know we do that but we didn't get enough. Turnovers created enough. Chances was not having mckinney hurt. Not having joe raina hurt think so you know and sergio dressed is an interesting one because defensively he he. He quite frankly. He frightens me at times. He's you know we talked about the davies moment from early in this match but what the us needed in this game was a more pointed attack and he He was a part of a lot of that. In the first half you know blowing by players Making things happen down the right side so you know losing him at halftime while maybe at times you wonder if it helps defensively although his replacement yellen didn't really do the job against davies either. Tighter adams taught he was outstanding the grown he covered the amount of fires. He put out In my notes. I have so many moments where he's run back track davies tracked someone else. I stayed doggedly with them. One the ball back and set us off in the opposite direction. Up the field It was an old school midfielders type performance. Absolutely right. I thought he was really really good now. Of course because nothing can be nice. Everything must be tarnished the shoulder on the breakaway move. That was almost assuredly going to end up in a very good chance for the us. What's crazy to me is. Should he do it no would. I have been shocked if the referee had noticed. And just play it on but the linesmen was always going to see that. I think that line and it had to be called. It had to be called. Yeah so i'm glad shan if you didn't bring it up. "Yes that's true. I would say p fox who i thought i'd a decent game considers pretty quiet. Yeah but pretty. Yeah that's shot across goal in the first half where he role defender showed a lot of strength but andrew. Can you honestly say there was a ton of really good quality ball going into his feet or any or anything like that again. Another thing about concacaf. These games are manic. They're like league two games but with better players like the ball is whizzing around. It's the surface was both slick and quick but also treacherous. The ball was moving really really quickly. Tax fine everywhere. It was hard to see a kind of a pattern in these games. Yeah maybe maybe five minutes. The only reason i say that is because you know and look. We've we've talked a lot about josh sergeant. And how much as we like him. We we wish we would see more from him at times but this just felt like a game where maybe skill set was the right one like we talk about how. He's he's also very creative player. You know he's a good passer. He can hold the ball up like maybe he could have done some of those things to bring other players into the attack or in a way that maybe be faulk. Wasn't i don't know i. So i still think you know you're seeing it on the good side where aaronson that's world cup qualifier. You can trust brennan aaronson. He can play a big role to get this team to the world cup And then you saw on the other side man you still have some hard lessons to learn. i just feel like no matter what happened. The summer was a little bit of camouflage for the sense that there were still some tough lessons ahead. And i think this team is learning. I'm right now. And so it's always gonna take a while to get all of that to fit together at its best under coach with vision of this is how we play in. This is how all these pieces fit together. And so. "Didn't really work out for a number of reasons and then could have a bunch of conversations with young players for the rapids. Here's what i did that works. Here's what you could do differently. You haven't played two thousand minutes in like thirty ish games entirely off the bench for the colorado rapids be a better version of the achieve. The fashion anderson be what the colorado rapids faithful. Were hoping i dillon. Cerna could potentially in the last big options they have mar- Haji barre who was a first round draft pick in two thousand sixteen for the orlando city. Spent some time with orlando be. He's bounced around a couple of other teams. Most recently was with sporting kansas city to on and has been involved with agana afghan stuff as well so kind of some useful journeyman mark given the experience that talked about with his time with bethlehem steel and union to. These are guys who definitely do a job and maybe he has an understanding of how to make them better in the ways that you know some of the homegrown for the philadelphia union having achieved or won't ever achieve what brennan aaronson would have achieved. But he's gotten together guys definitely fit his system. He has a clear idea of what that's going to look like. And i think it's deliberate and well thought out and focused in understanding the challenges ahead in ways. I don't know that trish you realized or cared about an ultimately.
