"Jurisdiction. So state racing jurisdictions and taking it at the committee level, reviewing it and then. And then possibly changing it and then forwarding to their full commission to approve. So Y- Under this structure at least the supporters hope that okay. When you when you pass a rule, every state is going to play by that same rule So so that's kind of structure they're looking at right now. To you have you received any indication of. You know the the WHO's going to qualify for this because the immediate concern and. Just mystery to this is that the they'll be five independent directors with no ties to the racing industry. However, the fact that they're being selected by people with ties to the industry would pra kind of preclude. They're going to be. You know they're going to have connection then there's Four others that will be allowed to have experience in the industry, but can't have any conflict of interest restraints and can't have any financial involvement in the sport but at least these feel like people that would have a greater understanding going in of how the sport operates What are the perils of of this structure? I think a lot of the critics think that the independence won't have the kind of grandeur knowledge of how the racing industry operates and the the number of vast differences between how animals work has to be regulated compared.

"In there. You think that's going to be in. You should come to my fighting camp. Which is going to be the summer. It just should have Ra segway. I mean they used to be tons of those fighting camps. I don't even know they still exist and all I don't think so. I think it was just one of those things that if we were going to do it at the League it where the a League was where it was like. If you were going to practice shooting goal scoring goals and practice you know cross. I saw surpasses. Why wouldn't you practice being able to take a punch and give a punch? But what did he say to you? Had you ever been kayode or something like that? Oh No no no no. I think it was I. Actually people would always ask everywhere both like every dot knocked out before like shape knocked out and I'm like of course my mind I'm like no yeah. And so the only time I got completely flat line completely starched was we were member. Those Games in the American League where you'd be sitting in traffic on to Albany or Binghamton and it's raining. It's like raining snowing and it's just like Oh this is terrible and you knew you were going to be a rat fight and so like the Games there would be like there'd be no warm-ups they'd be like well away. You sat here and we'll do a ten minute. Warm up no ice. The buzzer will drop so. I'll never forget. We played Albany which we had a gong show with Albany before. And they had like screw co Cam. Janssen's a bunch of guys cam had got called. Who's the guy with the biggest head in the world? Scuola ROB skirling. My God I remember. Being terrified not KEROUAC. I'm thinking and they always had a plethora of guys who could answer the bell so I'll never forget we talked about it before another podcast the stat pack like so you could find out like this youtube see so. I I remember getting dressed. We're late at the warm ups and I was like does. Who's this kid? Frank Littlejohn like with four hundred minutes of these coastal tough right. I think he got the better of it. I didn't know how to fight very well back then. Little Johnny Littlejohn you know what I knew how to fight and completely fucking starched and so I'm sitting there and I'm like does anyone. I'll never forget like getting dressed. And you know how you like walking around. And you're like does anybody know this dude as you tell me as you put stuff on like I. That's the callback and so tells something about this guy is left. He's Righty so it was like this crazy. I think he's an Indian kid and so there's the you know there's a couple of fights maybe the second period or something or no yeah first period and I remember going member. Our our coach was rob. Murray Scott you know you don't remember Marie. Rob Murray won't toughest guys like the nastiest vicious hard-working players like maybe twenty years ago. Ahl Nhl guy and up and down and was our assistant coach but he was just like just a mean guy. But I could get a sense of humor out of him and so you know. There was a couple of checks at high. There was a fight that went on before and so I jumped on the ice in those kid. Little John I see so now. I'm next this kid and so I go to I go. I look up to him and I go. Well you know obviously has happened. You ready to do it. He just looked over at me and he's like Yup and I was like all right and I was like all right. Cool all right so puck drops we drop our shit out. We're spinning around and this kid's got this crazy stance. Weird stances on my panic. Some of them are phonies. But you're like sleeve tattoos. This guy was doing it at ten years. Old in the woods in Saskatchewan highschoolers his. His knuckles are behind his elbows and stance just drifting back into the black goal. Like blood sport where this guy does this whole like jump around routine before they actually get into it and then like one punch the guy's done so what's more blood sport guy? All right come. We're going to do this. We're not going to do this and do this. And we're drifting back like offside dot and with drifting by the benches and he's got this cut is right hands cocked and I'm sitting there and I'm like all right we're GonNa do this and not do this. Series so now. I'm like after all the coaching have done in the success that have had at that part of the game. I was like you know I've been doing this. I of fought everybody. I'm like Commie. A little kid go to grab them on the shoulder pads no respect. I zero respect and just seems like stunk. Just hits me right in the chin. Surf's up I'm on the top of the surfboard riding the wave conservative on top and like I try to grab them..

"That do WANNA come here. Make a living You know and work hard by the way like you said They have difficulty getting in here and I mean it's kind of a dire picture right if we don't address this as much as safety and medication and all those things right at the moment is ridiculous. I mean these guys getting done for Incorrect payment. You're telling me that these guys are not paying on the tracks. The people that are getting in trouble for don't definitely I know for a fact that there are probably the best thing people try You know because they you know one county does it this way in another county that that way. I mean because you're you're trying to run businesses in three or four different counties in Iraq and stuff. You know stuff back and forth you know. I don't think these people are cheating. Anybody knock over trees got they got in trouble. They were treated and people are making comments and the Internet about all these guys are cheating people out of. Oh yeah yeah well. That's the Internet for him right. That's that's as twitter. You know you're you're go ahead go ahead. I mean everybody has any more. But you're you're you're you're examples. There are good because you don't think about New York for three different counties where racing takes place in three different sets of rules associated with pay. And then you add in The horse trains at Belmont stays there for day. And and it comes down to aqueduct and racist for the day. He's been two different counties now in the staff. Let's say the groom followed them. How do you keep track of that? I I would imagine the logistically. It's it's a massive headache and like you said you try to run a barn It's it's going to be a huge challenge taking people who've been against raising people like now you know they're just they're just GonNa get you no matter what you no matter what you do well. Yeah there's there's definitely then and let's face it. Some some some racing fans quote unquote could be very negative people to. Let's let's in. You know they got beat out of a pick four and all of a sudden trainer of that horse is is a bad guy on top of everything else. You know whole new messages. From time to time Ho Bible train oriented because of some type talks on a on a horse that day or something. That's going to be enjoyable. Part of the job has got to be very enjoyable. I would imagine a day just a couple of things real quick European racing versus. Us racing you know the the turf horses you know. Typically you know they come over from Europe here in superiority versus the. Us horses is on the turf anyway. usually pretty significant Is that because they're just running on the turf the time over there? They're bred for it. They're trained differently. You know not not knocking down. Obviously what horses like procter sledge of done but but You know when Breeders Cup time you generally see the euro's do very well over here. What do you attribute that to think I? You gotTa look at it. I mean you know maybe not so much more. Lean some chairs but obviously back you know years ago seven years ago. Close you had repeated horses coming over here and and our superior courses but I know you're getting lots of Getting a lot of European. Archers come over here in New York to to American trainers you a lot more to- facing than what you hate in America You know ten years ago you got a lot of the Americans going over to even the yearning shares in Europe without so much human biting the already tried arson. But we've got some a lot of the American trainers and bloodstock agents going to Europe to buy year so I think it's gradually coming to a point. I mean you've seen the collapse you leaders you know. There were a lot of medical are capable of defending looking in Challenge you know. Yeah you point. You're right but I mean you go to buy every winter who wins all the All the doctrines in Dubai the American the American student. Right that your comparison. Bean is going on that you know we got we specialize more on so we you know we've Kinda vantage when it comes to And you've seen all the PAEAN ARSES. Come over here and try the door. And they haven't gone the way of doing I think the American. They're getting much better than what they used to be You know years ago you could come over here with a horse you know late at main. Pm staying staying on your head being a missed a great. But that's that's not the case anymore. You know a Lotta guys used to finish up some black type and you grow. Then you run them anywhere. And you'd be almost guaranteed you get like poker that that's the case anymore. Like not becoming tougher and they say. There's a lot more Graduation in India last night and what their wives they can grow Julian the end of the day. I think it comes down to the cost of course rabbit different than that but I think that the day it's all about the horse and gradually the US horses off. I is. They're getting better. I mean you saw Dixon marketers. You know.

"Whoa specifics with you know you know you. You call it to where I think where you get a Horse Radi You know it just depends on the order street. You know I think it depends whether real or the lane school and you want to run a back most needs rates and you know especially if you get these days ago to back in three to five wing. You know everything's right you go you can kind of you know you see how they come out of it for a week or so and then you look at the book and you say lender that stuff all that stuff and then you kind of work your walks around all works the Horse your horse. You know whether you walk or so. We go and they won't give them a blowout three days. I I think you know that's the thing where you you have to see what the horseback and then of course the circumstances you know. Everybody doesn't come over to the wage boom here in the scratch. And you make a day and you you know they saw you gotta wait a few more days before your work. That's all we try to go with the condition book where they have to run horseback next to make you know their own copy in the square holes. And you know we've got to be raised and and you gotta make that. I mean we do you moreover books and you say well this is what substate all You know you just try to do what the horseface basically it. At the end of the day you know that I would imagine that a couple of different besides your staff a couple of relationships. Obviously that are key to any trainer. One is the onerous that you have right and then the other is the jockeys that you work with in it. I'm always wondering what is the process? Like of courting owners right because you I would imagine you have to do a little bit of courting there How does that play itself out I'm I'm very very lucky right now. I've a fantastic of course You know and I think probably moves along. I think you get people that you know they come to you and me Jell together with and some people you doing general. They're not particularly. You know it's it's like a relationship with as a you know a woman or anything you know you get to know them. Then you decide you know you could be ready for long term or short term or or whatever I think that most people I've gotten on that Pretty good you know some people for nobody had had disagreements in the you know something should be done one way or something should be done another way but I try to do a stroke limit. You know remained never seen owners importing eater and I and I you know we always talk about you know. I just wanted to go taking out and to accommodate them but if I go into green into crap and you know I I won't do it. I'm trying not to do. We know what they should be. But I've had for long turbulent or people that I've gotten with for T-e-k-n-i well and you know we always tried to do my very best anybody and it's Gonna. Cause some people you know lucky with for whatever reason certain epilepsy known. Look for You know for no for no leaking. Just some new. Just don't we don't have to and you haven't any creating and people get great. It's you know lead happened. Or they don't ask them which refer people and certain origins. I'm very looking right now. That's great owners and I've got some great relationships good owner better successful. I think they're the people that you can get on and because you know for the most part and even patrolling parking. I know speakers in Portland problem with company. Think did you see such such arranged. So that rings and then. I go ninety nine times out of a hundred saying you know and and you know most people are accepting of that. You know you mentioned gelling with the owners of someone who clearly you've dealt with on the jockey side. I would say for a couple of years now is titled Gaff Leon. Right and so I was wondering how to you. Is this a process of you? You Watch the jockey in the mornings or you you you watch him ride and you develop a relationship there you see something that you like Because I know your numbers with him a very good at Gulfstream and and You know I'm giving any secrets away but when I Brennan Walsh Antiwar Gasoline on a horse. May actually you had a second place finish big number over the weekend. I believe You know that's something that I pay attention to. But how do you kind of develop with any jockey you know what I mean but but just a title one is interesting because you clearly the success as their? You know I've been I've been going looking with our A lot of itunes accessibility okay. You know these these top writers. It's it's whom you have access to you know and You know we've got more access now to top writers. I would say when I got going willing person. I always hold. I regard in coney enemy because Corey You know when when I started i. I can see new corey from when I worked for eighty because he locked for eighty and Julian Leper to extend so you know. I'd always have great admiration for them guys because When I started off I vote their gold leading writers and every opportunity. They caught came in and they work courses for me. Are they rolled graces from me when they couldn't. But you have to understand. These guys are restricted. You know because the the bigger guys Want as well and and so you know when you're getting going out in the time you know they're they're Kinda caught out. They gotta right writing the bigger guards which understandable but you know with tyler you know when when we start continuing me get going. I kinda mode to tyler and You know look you know the last couple years to spend a lot more time than Kentucky so we you know we. We have access to them and they started to have horses to in. Tyler was getting better in Kentucky. So cooking us We've done really well with them. You know you know I've been great could only. Rt's Goldens written to my biggest governor winters. You know I can't go there all the time. 'cause he's obviously north and and whatever just a contrast of dealing with You know we. We struck up a great relationship. I'm not working either very smart invading great back You know we just together like you know I'd item is You know he's opinion means a lot to me. Took it on board. You know 'cause he tries to understand June and you know and and for that to get you know. He's he's not going to just make people better you know. Riders are staffed with the letter. Snark you know they have to be in you know. Then you're going to see you back and I think that's that's all important than either time-tested greater watch him right races and when I think my right I'd like to be there right now. It's almost like any goal. That must be feeling watching the race. It's the weirdest thing and he's I think he's always gotta cost really well place but you know there's lots of good writers to but no the milky that we paid it off and we've had good success together and you know hopefully in continue for many years to come back to the Organization of the staff and everything. I know one of the things that you've I think you're pretty passionate about. Is the difficulty in getting staff these days four horsemen whether it be because of visa issues or you know culturally. Let's face it. You know a lot of people American not really raised around livestock anymore and then you have difficulties with like in New York. The different pay you know rules in different counties that has become more of a challenge for horsemen over the years. Hasn't it Jim? I mean you know I mean you know I. I think it's going to. It's going to be a huge downfall for the industry I think all Rabi And I think it's going to get get worse but it's the same in Europe. I think it's the same in Europe to an extent they're having a lot of trouble getting Getting the right people and then I came over here I You know there was always a bunch of like Irish English French people on the race tracks you know. They will Grinders You know these guys can't get visas anymore. They're not even playing plus. There's not as many of them in Europe going into racing anymore because it's not a very well paid profession and you'll look if you if you don't become a jockey or you don't get to other place in the lacing statement and you know it's discouraging a lot of people in Europe to go into our streets. I think that's coming through over here. you know and then you know so. I don't think you've got them into people as many people as you used to have You know and then of course outselling American people getting so hard for them to get to Scarcity of them as well you know I mean that the end of the day been like these people they want to call the hair to grow walkers make themselves a few bucks do a day's walk if we could have these people we're not gonNA get paid people want to do it. They don't WanNa come into a barn three thirty or four in for styles and goodwill bunge. Your horses belong to do whatever reason might be as big a problem is You know This whole thing going on at the moment the race trucks and Great Jones and stuff like that you know your your people are scarcity of people and and you know stuff is getting Roche and and people don't see Thing that they could possibly see this and this might be to say on. The track. Maintenance is not the same weight a lot of stuff. You don't have to skim people that maybe you had twenty years ago and these guys that can tell you for horses writer if abortion is wrong and the day who's going to sell for the Horse Horse right right right well one of the things you pointed out as we're not you know we we've moved away from agrarian roots. Right I mean people are not you? Raised around. Horses Been People. That just doesn't happen as much anymore. And then you know to your.

And there's a bit more and then we should be starting to get to a stage where we would start pushing a few buttons and see comes along You know and then we'd be able to make a foam or decision. I mean we have so many years you know mine were not. We don't have no plan. Somebody called them. Could there during the week. Think about leaving customer plenty. Plenty plan that You know obviously we don't want to commit or not commit dancing consume So bitcoin we're you know we're just letting into Lawson. Cnn comes on and go from there. But I can keep you know. There's no doubt he's going to be very very good. Austin's year if we do right by it no doubt in my mind so it's just a question of of what we need to do to do right guy but I'm not saying we're going to go for the job. You're not going to go as right now. I A definite answer either while you're GONNA take watching C. Which I think when you have a horse like that that's the right thing to do right rather than rushing into anything absolutely absolutely. That's I don't get it you know that's what we've done well from from doing is is is going to be awesome as we came in and then some to them and do best them and You know we can't do any more than that Brennan. You've certainly been no stranger to good horses you trained PLU Parfait who won the UAE. Derby last year proctors ledge graded stakes winner on the turf honorable duty. Multiple graded stakes placed knocking extravagant kid. Who just ran last week in? Tampa which is a a tough one. I know in time we just got marathon winner so you know clearly you know stranger good horses but it wasn't like you are in exactly born into the sport grant clean old You from from raking remember and I don't know where it came from in the In our obsessed to change horses cones. Tell me whatever's Keita's on just be salted with lungs. They can remember You know my you know everybody. Is You know everybody's got up around among their back. When I was a kid rewarding those all these horses on farms and stuff you know Vergamo game show. A lot of people have been in horsemanship into You know I know my grandfather on my mother's side. Even the parking very Osman number people in their problems hosting things to bring them in and cutting maybe back toward the affection. Purdham candidate they could remember. I I always crazy in. You know the crazy enough to engage years old. My Dad bought me only because I just the mode and then to it And you know Greasy pension each shuttle. But I mean we didn't have a clue basically taller ourselves how to raise them and and take care of him and nobody really only some local people from whatever you know basically. Yeah that they did. We didn't and and Just going from there and you know always love watching lays watch racing Saturday as a word and that's when it was on and Also like like anybody on the beach. Thesis can't together. I try to find the career with you? Initially I believe started out as a jockey correct Lincoln jockeys school. I went to the apprentice. School in Ireland I in general. I think I don't know that I didn't make it percents Go JUST GOT OUR OWN SAKE. You Enter and I guess I wasn't ready for us at the time. Even though I've been delays own since Yeah exactly somebody who was homesick. I I guess in the but I did an end. That was in any walk and Rebecca School near the school that I can tell you. They take the stud farm rose and I went to work live at home. I gotTA start in the Irish national stood course which is a famous famous Course in Ireland. Where lots of a lot and you know really needing good people and the horse industry could men on the people that have done. The national still cost that you know and So I went through I which is a good stepping stone and that kind of introduced me to know from there And then I ended up being imbalanced which is shoot Muhammad Star than they used to break pre-trade a lot of young horses at the year ending in two years. And I am. Let's say I'm in. Dubai was Yup Yup. Yeah you you're the. Us interesting you know like you said you went from jockeys goal to Irish National Stud Chorus and Stud in Ireland into Dubai Back to Ireland. I believe and then over the US. Correct back to when I when I went to buy and then you know originally to walk for more trade or in Dubai Okay Joe Valley And then I went back to work out for the really good number within So then we used to go to Dubai for the winter and then in the summer the first use of a new market segment ended up coming to the states with them. And that was Kinda my introduction to It'd be extremely You know so I I did the I think. I ended up doing that. Gauge winters in Dubai. What I make adults and I ended up going back to work for and Mark Rawlinson strings to day. He was a young trainer. Could probably meet Maccagnan same age and he was getting going and I went and worked for him for three and a half four years and that was a great experience. You know you got to see it. You know from from somebody that I was going to be pulled back to. The states is always there. I always thought if I was going to have a chance of becoming a trainer to you know just economics of it is. You're always going to have to be in the states And so we're back here. I went back to work for lady any Canadian. Ed made an eighty Indian term. Okay and you know he me said if you ever want to come back to you know please you know get in contact and see if we can help you out so true and a half years for years the mail and so will it all came together and they were all great grand stepping stones. You know you one of the articles. I read Brendan. You mentioned. It was interesting One of the things you learn from Eddie Camelia was organizing a barn over here in the in the US and Emma. My racing fan of fall racing but You know I'm always fascinated by organization and logistics and so when you talk about organizing barn. I imagine involves a bunch of different things from maintenance of the barn to the programs free choice. Can you can tell a little bit about what you what you learned from. As far as organizing Barna. Which would what you do on your own. You know the call the person that needs to be all gonna go to extent. 'cause I don't tend to WANNA Morgan. I can do better walk talk for most people you know. I mean Steph is here maybe where especially in like because you know you've got so much by the time you know you need to come off because they are these me anyway Winter and then in the mornings here you know in in Europe were okay in Europe. It's not only Oregon a leader. But you've got your you've got your windows when you graduate hour and a half or two hours to the I can and then you got you know things have to be insists name a bigger bang for things to go off. And everybody has to know what they're doing before they do and I think it's important that every gonna you know. First of all in the manning pardon pension two going in cartons and I think at your organized you time where. You're you know you get to see everything that's going on and and you can spot you know that still to impart own horses that things are doing and then at the right time and everything and then you know. I think that allows you to see everybody rushing long everybody doing business or any any probation. I think the key but you know what they're doing you know people do. They don't do though because they took place in the our lady. The main people are very good again job and like I say it all. She's you need to see these small things and it starts with that you know with all going to him and I think. That's so eddie as your as your Eddie Brenton as your barring gets bigger and you have more success I would imagine You know obviously the challenge grows as well right in making sure that same level of attention to detail filters throughout your staff who you are. End Up being much more reliant on I would imagine as you get more successful Ryan absolutely. Yeah you know. I've got two guys here to absolutely excellent job on a minority coming shower. The all madden rooms to guarded In New Orleans. And you know there. That will Whitney Coming up along you know they. Didn't you know they came up cutting with me? And they know exactly the way on things dome and and In order system. And and you know like I say I. Don't you know as you get busier than you? Become more. Reliant and You know for organized in the older staff and and everything else so you know. I think that's very that's key is You know I'd like to think that I go to system tomorrow into Indian and anybody else helped coach on. And that's that's what you need people around you in people under the two right right has to filter throughout right on the. Yeah so Brendan. Obviously you know when you're talking about a race like the the Derby the Breeders Cup. You know obviously that date. Those dates are set in stone. Well ahead of time But I would imagine as your you know Your Day to day barn you it sounds like you kind of work from the condition book backwards for a program You know so okay. There's a race out here that we're GONNA target on this date so that means we kinda back into this training program here I. I'm always fascinated by the whole condition book process honestly because that comes out and I always wanted to. These guys have software to kind of run through their horses and their conditions or they just know these things. And how does that all at? How do you work with that? I think you know like we spoke about every along with Mexican. And there's no specific..

"On this and all of diagnostics simple if most important to you do sit there computer and negatively talk about those that are somewhat that you probably truly know nothing about well. That's the that's the that's the the most Germane element is is out of hand What's this concert hours raises? Just a small part of it. Young people used to have to earn a form to get to the point where someone would hear what your opinion was nowadays. All you gotta do is by computer ridiculous Walter. Cronkite earned a forum. Sit there tonight so those people think that they're smart enough to someone cares about their ally. Radio. Why doesn't care about somebody and you're not gonNA get an argument for me. I I I find it. I find it distressing and live in a barn on the Internet. Love it I love it. I'll give you another example on the same topic Rogue element coming into that maiden race on Saturday had beaten dozen lengths and twenty two links and then proceeds the jumper to from breaking his maiden with an eighty buyer. That's right you don't give up on. I like the Eddie excuses reasons and and we stuck with him and he jumps up in Atlanta. You know beautiful rice. And that's one of the great things with Brian. Kelly. Oh hang in there with you. Don't have to tell him any time to the horse is going to be okay or is getting better. You'RE GONNA improve and it worked with you well and and just Just looking at at this. You know he was. He was one hundred sixteen to one. Beautiful how much retired rogue L. He's an right exactly he was he was. He certainly was bred as a nice horse. He was a two hundred fifty thousand dollars. Keeneland yearling. He's out of the Nice Candy. "Sirius Xm ports presents raises with Steve. Raising handicapping. Have been covering this. Who Will Steve a very good Monday race? Fans serious nineteen sixty four listen to Sirius. Xm online at our website as well. Steve DOT COM and a pretty interesting weekend from all the points and literally all around the compass around the globe and to be honest I my inclination is as it's been from the time. This Saudi race was announced to not pay a whole lot of attention to it. But it's it's certainly a topic in the aftermath that needs some attention And we'll get to it. I imagine but focus for me anyway. certainly Gulfstream on Saturday and a a really entertaining fourteen race card and there was plenty of other action to take your attention but everything pretty much leading up to the circumstances in the Fountain of Youth and after we left you on Friday after we left the for the weekend the watch on for Saffy Joseph and what he was. GonNa do regarding chance at and for the longest time Saturday morning. It didn't appear that he was gonna come out and then he did. And in the aftermath of of that scenario here was the horse that was now on the outside at the end and floors. Giroux moving in one slot to the ten and as Jay Primin in a very much focused in on Identical SCENARIO TO GUNRUNNERS. Pegasus and flew orange drew who has been really aggressive of late and is taking advantage of opportunities me pretty much wherever he is finding them and he went for the turn for the lead and gets it and that was it that race you could see on the backstretch. I and into the turn the he was not losing. It was just a parent and Patrick being cold. Who said sold allante Saturday at Tampa patron gold is tracking to having ten percent of of the Derby field? And you know. We had that conversation with him. What is it now three weeks ago? And it's an amazing story. He bought four two year olds and while the while he admitted the two of them are mounting. Nothing he is clearly gotta be delighted and all the people that are involved including his daughter and his father. It's an amazing story at Indiana. Ninety seven buyer so from from speed figure standpoint. You're not going to question the validity or the aware he fits and it just feels like Patrick. Is this going to lay a two wars in the Derby? Starting at the animal focused toward the Florida. Derby the horses Behind at Indian a a group of what four that photoed for second third fourth fifth and ran some. Rin It a well enough to keep moving forward. Candy tycoon and Country Grammar notably. Because they were inexperienced. They'll get chances Other Chat Brian has been the word was the country. Grammar will ultimate goal was the wood so the two of them separated by a head and the neck in the nose. Give or take candy tycoon. Who probably made up. I guess the two of them actually candy thank Kuhnen and Country Grammar. They were making up ground. And that's part of. It's part of the Saturday analysis that needs to be considered. How much of that seems like a like an interesting track There really wasn't a whole lot of on the dirt races. I mean you look at totally shapes win. And of course Mr freeze who stayed close and then took over and one really. Well I mean I suppose. The one horse that that rallied on the main track. It wasn't in a state but Harvey Wall Banger. Put a a eye-catching move in fact. Ken mcpeek with a too nice wins in short order for Hair Learner Harvey Wall Banger winning that allowance. And then Mr Kennedy ride won the the maiden race but other than Harvey Wall Banger. Was there any? Was there. Anybody that made up significant ground to the point of you know of winning and I think the answer is no Mister Candy Reid. Also made a a move. That put him in contention the by the by the turn. So it's hard to. It's hard to not. I don't know I. It was also an odd thing even on the grass. I was doing the figures. Late watching an antibiotic put together the the figs fairly early in the evening and as I was looking at them each one. Before they were cumulatively available almost every horse that won even on the grass had reached a career-best one after the other. I mean obviously at the end but Mr Freeze as well Zulu Alpha on the is win the Tala G. We're GONNA talk to Brendon Walsh in this hour. Actually Came back beautifully last seen at keeneland. And he's obviously going to be a major player going down the road on the three year old turf front. We'll also talk about Max field. Who is starting to get sensitive? Brendan starting to tighten up the the screws but who else Elizabeth way the. How about the Roger Outfield last the out maiden winter there's an angle in there somewhere. This learning Elizabeth way wins the the very one all one after the other. The upset at the Hutchinson upset her for Larry Bates with verve. That was a top. I think somebody in the Canadian turf. It's pretty neat. How Todd Pletcher is kind of refashioned that starlight the good two year old has kind of refashioned him into a nice to force it was it was really a a fun day of wagering and and just watching. If you didn't bat a lot you still could enjoy what was going on and a nice. I thought a nice mix and match and variety of of connections on the on the State Card where we have ten steaks and it was a one one different set of connections more or less after another couple of couple of writers notably Talladega flown with a pair wins Zulu Alpha actually exchanged some notes. We're going to hear from Michael Way The owner of Zulu Alpha next day or two. And he's he's just he's just remarkable. Look Right now. He's absolutely dialed in. It's a great story and you know Michael Way and Mike Maker and also John Ortiz. Who's sort of part of the part of the operation? They've really struck on a terrific approach. And I am anxious to talk to Michael about that claiming you know expensive claims and going on with them you know. Basically you know buying essentially. It's buying ready ready. Made Horses Sixty two five fifty thousand seventy five thousand. Whatever it is and you know getting them mid-career that way and Mike makers just so good with them. Once he gets them healthy and right and dialed in he. He maintains it. And you're there was. There was one little handicapping thing that has. I was trying to build tickets on Saturday in the morning. When I posted the analysis. I started I ju. I was curious because here was the mcdiarmid with the last two winters in it. Zulu Alpha and Sadler's joy and I went. I pulled up the chart. I'm going chart after charge after charge after six of the last seven going into Saturday. Six of the last seven winners of the mcdonagh was was the favourite then I went back a little further another couple of ten of the last twelve now it. It's it's obviously and I just rather than rather than get too creative in that spot. I just focused on on savage joy and Zulu Alpha and paid off in terms of eight ticket single Zulu Alpha On on the narrow concentrated plays and it paid off so keep that remember that and I. It doesn't have to be true every year but there's really only been one significant price. In in the last twelve years I stopped going back after that. After twelve looking at twelve charts. I said all right clearly. This is a race that inform the inform horses have an edge and Zulu Alpha really taking that to an extreme and speaking of extremes as we continue to focus on the gulfstream results a dave extreme emotions for Dell Roman who were hoping to talk to here Presently MR freeze is turning is is in front of your eyes is turning into a star and he cut back from the Pegasus where he was such a game second to mutual. Gustavo turns back to the mile and was spectacular. One Oh seven buyer and speaking of inform. Fatman came back ran a nice race. He was trying to rally could get no closer than than three lengths and Mattie Franko had already kind of wrapped up on on Mr freeze and deep stretch Hakkari Hustle. And you gotTa Give Tyler Gaff Leon. And this is one of the reasons. I'm not sure about the racetrack. And I WANNA to hear from that. Want to hear from Johnny. And we'll talk de Tomorrow Tyler Gaff Leon with Hakkari Kozel who you know. We're we're quite used to seeing it. Come with deep rallies whether he's got a newfound gear as a four year old we'll see going forward with Vicky Oliver how she approaches things but Hakkari Castle broke fairly sharp and was it was fairly close early and Cathleen held that position. And then you know try to to rally and he was you know he was sort of looming but it didn't seem like he had the same finish that we're used to. I'm really curious. I how everybody else saw the track. I've just kind of floating out there. For for discussion but Back to Dale Romans and obviously a great situation for owners Jim back in and Jerry is Mr. They're talking about going to the Gulf in mile which It seems a little. I don't really get but You know when there's there's significant opportunities domestically and a great one the met mile and them and the Carter seven eighths. But I don't know I. I'm a little surprised that that was the reaction so we'll get that from Dale. But in the meantime an hour later an hour after Mr freezes a resounding performance That is his moment. We just two bad to believed yes seemed in the early half of the race front front half of the race seemed like he was drafting along. And then you could see about midway on the backstretch you could see. Suddenly when horses were starting to put in their moves. At first he just was idle and then he started a basically backpedal and it was. It was clear before the turn and Flavian Pratt just kind of wrapped up on them and backed him through the field. At first the first immediate aftermath said Oh.

But I think I'm just GONNA hang up north a little bit get. There's light duty stuff over the winter months and hopefully hit hit it hard in the spring. What you know fresh newly turned three zero well and you did mention Mrs Weber's winner That was put up on Saturday. And this is super high voltage One of just a handful of of brilliant speed The ill-fated brilliant speed but Mrs Weber's got a few and and I tell you it it's kind of sad because there's no telling what kind of a stallion he was going to be but he has gotten a number of of Nice runners and it's too bad to have a a Sunday night a former boy you think of him and you think of poems Premature passing assing and not Enough Dinah former sons out there the yeah now. I've had a few of them for that have been right night. Sources WANNA steak with super for striking. I mean we've had. It had some fun with those well. It's going to be a fun year. A- and yet overall the kind of some summarize is twenty one thousand nine hundred and some hopes for the new year very excited. And if I'm not mistaken I am not a twenty nineteen was your best year as as judged by earnings yes correct I mean it was. It was down to the last week of the year to get there but we did and You know it was. It was a good year a lot of courses wanting to write racist so You know back at it and we'll see we can do twenty twenty well triple digit. The number of wins for Mike in Twenty one thousand nine hundred and if I just do some quick math. It's GonNa take to twenty twenty one but I e boy you know. Ham Smith is looking to win number two thousand and this week Mike and you are for for those that that keep track of this kind of thing. You are up to eighteen hundred and twenty-five wins so you're gonNA hit two thousand winds in in twenty twenty one. Yeah and I'm I'm a couple of years younger. Mr Smith Laurel by the way so oh great guy absolutely. He's going to try to win one for gory on Thursday or spun name a leading man man. But I didn't realize you were that close to two thousand that that's a that's UNBELIEV and how you've been training how long how many years thirty three. Maybe now. Now that's not possible now. It's very possible while I'm fifty three and I started when I was eighteen so under thirty five years or what what have you. So that's a that's a well but the the big really the majority that come over the last eighteen nineteen years really got sick Eh. The second half of it absolutely well. It's going to be a big year. Mike the healthy happy For the family and the staff and and the horses and and we'll talk soon. Thank you very much. Have a good day Mitra better and a big year in the offing Independence Hall and quite a few more really. You know I don't want to write that. I think what I just brought up there with with brilliant speed. How many how many times a former sons are even available? The end you know God knows what poor could have accomplished and At Brit speed as well another topic for Sid. Tomorrow we'll take the top of the hour break funded get the day going with Brendon. "We're back at the races twenty minutes to the top of the hour Andy Serlin will visit. Andy was Of course on hand opening day at act with Dr and naira had that strange schedule which included a rare Tuesday at at acqueduct. They only run. Tuesdays I maybe twice a year and then it culminated the week. The holiday week in New York with the Jerome on New Year's Day and and independence hall was going to be a big favourite and deservedly so off the powerful win in the Nashua and not a bad bad way to spend New Year's Day in New York which might trump at a dead with his wife and son and son's girlfriend and made it a great great way to start the year as independence all wins and wins After after a little bit of hijinks pre race the couple a little little hiccups along the way Mike Happy New Year. Congratulations thank you good morning. Good morning we talked not long after the win. When you were heading home and you had had That's pretty special. It's a pretty special way to spend New Year's Day New York. Yeah it was good. I mean we've made a day of it we went off and Just hung out it. Seemed like drag. You know took its time getting around to the afternoon but you know we have a lot of fun and We had a good result in the end. A give everybody we talked about about independence hall after the the win but getting ready for this and making decisions after a horse A second career start puts in you know probably not probably the best effort of any two year old of last year. And there's a lot of people who will will scoff at the at bounce theory Syrian regression and so forth but when a horse puts out an effort out like he did in that Nashua. You do have to be careful coming back. I mean talk about the decision making process and and evaluating him to you know to come back with the third start the horse came back out of it and what appeared to be in good order but you know the ownership group came to the conclusion that even if it looked like an easy win and even the.

And she's a stakes winner. Now straight off the back so everybody's happy with the whole thing Cool Anyway Stephen. Of course it's great to have to hide her family in the bar now and all the Outside outside of her we can have a few more for time about. Oh that's great that's great. She's by softening and Clearly we'll be You you know we'll be a player going forward this year. It amongst the the elders. How far do you think she wants to go? Are you going to keep around a mile. Thinks she stretch out Steve. She's out of Galileo there you know and is often these tend to to stretch out. I think the mile is probably the minimum Denies Nice Lunch to go and she won't go into Mali. Sixteen run before that You know she's she concerned way off of it so I think a slower pace in front of ever wouldn't wouldn't be so our ground so I think ending two mile marker besides for her in the nose maybe call a little further than that but yeah no she's she's already adaptable. She's lovely filly. She's got a great mind. So we're we're excited about her. Mary Nice well that type in your hands. You've already proven when when you've got one that you know has got real staying qualities You you have no trouble getting them to exploit that that talent And you also can get them to go short How about extravagant kid? What about in knees? He's just a model of consistency skiing. since we've gotten him I mean he's he's just a fantastic untested carson. He seems like he goes on everything. you know we were. We were obviously trying to run onto turfed Alasdair. Astana came off and his former is is very good on door to Poly track. He he just goes on everything. He's just a great Great Horse just the privileged privilege to have him. I mean look to farm and he's very very rarely out of the first to even You know so. He's just been a model of consistency concede. And if we have another Those unlike him into barn. We'd do you say that and I could list off another dozen in the barn. He's he turned. He turned seven. The no yet this year unbelievable. It doesn't seem like he's backing up at all. Maybe this year might be he might actually. He's he's definitely not going backwards. According to vanishing he's maybe improved. A little basis goes along ladder timed sprinters. They're seven seven year. Old Year is their best year. So you know locally we can We can have another great year. What I'm sure? If he can always fom you'll be you'll be there abouts and all of the expense this year. Let me also ask you about A couple of A couple of maidens and Certainly Banks Islands win. And I know it was on the SLOP And it it was from an off the turf What we make Of this one. Because you got a big big at an eighty-five fire with the win and now may force issue to try more main track opportunities. Yeah you know I kind of kicked around the Tarfa offer little bit you know. He's he's got plenty tough in his pedigree storm cat mayor You know this race came up at a good time Stephen. When we said we'd we'd try it? It was just because he had been he had been on the odds. So is twice Lays and.

"Stephen Dot com good Tuesday as we get some momentum. I hope here into the new year and still lots to absorb from news and and racing off the holiday we got to. We got a fair amount. Yesterday we lost. That was that first half hour but then we we. We caught up. Got Up fast and some of the same themes to touch on undoubtedly with with regulars today Andy Surly with his the end of the year summary and waiting into the new year and speaking of naira. We'll get that visit in with Mike Trump better and talk about independence hall you yesterday. You heard Jay Wright. How do you interpret that Jerome? Jerome was was the you know the performance in the national or was it just not an aberration. Because you know horse doesn't run like that it's not the it's not an aberration per se but Sometimes things can conspire and certain harmonies are in place to produce you know out- outlandish performances. And then they can be tough to to reproduce. So we'll talk to Mike and see what he thinks. Thanks and he really as I mentioned yesterday had such a good twenty nineteen and seems poised for a very good a year this year with independence hall leading the train The two year old into three year old scenario talk here in a couple of minutes actually right during the first segment before we take a break. We're we'RE GONNA get in a visit with Brendon Walsh and for for Brandon. I gotta think as it came up yesterday. Ah with with Jay as well and we'll see what John White thinks I know John put out his eclipse vote column the other day and get his specific thoughts later our three but I was surprised when I saw maximum on the list as a as a finalist for the the three year olds Brendan had a terrific the holiday period too and that included extravagant kid winning last weekend at Gulfstream with Gaff Leone and at fairgrounds where Brendan his most most often and very notable notable effort in the pay go hop from Zo fell The Irish bread and he also won the Bob Fordis- let's before we wrapped up on what two weeks ago. Monday had mentioned the the memorial race for the late New Orleans Turf Writing Institution for this. This really tragic passing and Nice to be just as we said. I said this with Marcus Herschel. To have a afford US memorial really appropriate and Brendon. Walsh upset that That was boxing day without without seeing the Nida. Maybe somebody you focused on fair grants and Sour Cosa with a big price upset. Which Ford is what a loved a big big number under Sean Bridge Man There's a couple of actually a couple of other stakes from fairgrounds last week that we should slip into result wise and and we'll go over the Santa Anita the other the need action that we didn't discuss with Jay really in detail and that included things like the Eddie Logan. Peter Miller had a terrific opening week plus Santa Anita wins that blue norther either and that was the another constitution. Laura's light it's unbelievable though the constitutions and won the Joe Hernandez to with the Texas Wedge so And then of course we we did talk about and everyone just I think marveling and delighted obviously bricks and mortar is going to be your turf. Champion but for Mo Four. Is it a forge himself into that picture. Pretty Pretty amazing literally in the last hundred days of the year to emerge like that and Berry Abrams Abrahams believed from from day. One and in fact I should have by all rights. I should push Rod Anderson Ryan. Anderson should put that texts that the very sent them in like February. I think of January last year. I've got a three year old that for joe well and and there's GonNa be terrific. It'd be the best three-year-old third force in the country. This was months and months and months in advance dance of the emergence very rightfully. A lot of pride in Mo- Forza so Miller John sheriffs do do. We should get that. We've got the don't get John this week and the hard not to love whose performance you know I know that not going to worry about the FIG but ended up being are not the love with a one or two buyer that was a tick faster than Omaha beach and that was instantly he noted on race day. We Go Saturday on opening day. It's Anthony and of course Omaha Beach Kinda cruised. The last the last eighth really and really geared down the last sixteenth But it's kind of immaterial but hard not to loves performance that's a that's GonNa stand up and you would think going into into her four-year-old year out of that libra. She's a force to deal with so John Sadler too. We should talk about with Gift Fox. And of course yesterday today the visit And Sadler also one with encoder in the Yeti Logan so The some of the big obvious prominent names California off to good starts pretty much. Everybody really think about it right. baffert Miller bought this altus altus with the desert stone on on Saturday in the San Gabriel and also with the lady brands a lot in the American oaks out. Hopefully hopefully there's good ongoing continuity to the meat a mentioned yesterday to to J. and he echoed those sentiments. It's so we'll talk with John White later Andy For New York coverage and Germy plunk will get Jeremy in for the first countdown to the crown. Yeah wasting no time Jeremy Lodging Cap Down On Friday so you're weekly resource resource which is really invaluable. The the Jeremy put so much work into it and keeps you absolutely you know the pulse of everything happening Among the the three year olds all the way races are shaping up coming up then the recapping and and everything else. So we'll let Jeremy give you the introduction to. I don't know what you would would fourteenth year thirteen twelve. I duNNo. No No. It's tough to keep track I. I couldn't keep track Yesterday with Mandela made me laugh. How funny was Mandel yesterday? How do you feel about the knowing that you've only got one star laughed? Well I feel like the worst has been abducted out from under me dark. I thought that was good at Dark Bay or Brown Alert Omaha. Beach foisted away but you you. We could discuss this tomorrow with Sid. Actually as part of the the first sire watch pedigree focused brought to you by Ellendale. It's very difficult. I know people get frustrated about three year. Olds going to to start and in not being around for their four-year-old year but as has been discussed many times. You you gotta take the perversity money off the table when you can no matter people. All these people are so well the the so wealthy part of it isn't and it doesn't justify hemorrhaging money you can't can't just spend millions Going out and so when the opportunity comes and and I by all rights considering what was happening with Omaha beach and the fits and starts in getting being uncertain and as to how much more racing he was going. You know you. You didn't know you know you know. And that's that's why a lot of the stallion prospects. They signed deals. Let's it riff on this tomorrow. They you signed deals in a while. The value is is highest. Ah You know in in the scheme of things so it is too bad it it is too bad that the seemingly elise. He's absolutely at the best these band. And there'd be so much more to look forward to but you can't begrudge reporter uh or any of the the owners that that make those calls that's that's part of part of the equation. Got A ton of news to get through and yesterday the purse and I and handle numbers announced and the numbers the not gonNA I. Don't I WANNA go too far into this story without more context and the opportunity to get some input From people that that really track the numbers carefully because last year was Obviously an unusual year but it purses were up and up for significantly for a second year in a row and fueled in part part I would imagine Churchill With with the the purse enhancements that they've seen and oaklawn in a lot of this is historic gracing. And and you know other gaming money's but the the handle number was was off a couple of points for the first time in five years and that bears a lot more examination because you just don't know without really really combing through the figures how much of it was the situation particularly at Santa Anita with the loss days and then with what what felt like Hampered racing cards that were not offering the kind of attractive wagering opportunities that those that play. S- Anthony. I discussed this myself late last year. I didn't play nearly as much at Santa Nina as I normally had come to to do so The numbers I think overall frankly the story line here in the field size was down another tech. The Story Line here is unattractive wagering opportunity and that that that's the major interview with combining pricing on wagers in terms of takeout issues and then then just Difficulty finding engaging betting opportunities and you know this is this has got to be addressed in a lot. More important than lasix Brendan Washes standing by with US and Brendan Happy New Year. First of all happy New Year's Brandon. How surprised were were you? When you heard that Max field was a two year old champion finalist rainy expected.

A. Woman under her and I guess he wouldn't everybody wants to draw the nine hole on a field of nine I guess what do they get when they get that Marty they'd get the open air outside box where the air is fresh and clear avenue and there's very there's a definite lack of encumbrances that's why they want it I absolutely love it and if who among the price horses wouldn't surprise you gosh you know with the nine horse here we're not gonNA have that price I'm like Peterman I'm worried he said this seven minutes after Spicer faction won the race came into her Breeders Cup race right off the layoffs so are Johnny youth the drive through window or something Chinese a while actually vic nailed lead US morning a little early call me I was driving to the eagles are having trouble all today and I was driving down there I was gonNA try out if I could make the team so I wanted to get off the off the room so I could speak to Mr Vic without interruption so I pulled into it driveway and of course the owner of the property showed up the cops right behind I think we're at right now is just next to me and I said well I'm on a conference call I didn't want to be driving owns she said disgusted look and said but you know your private property you know ah well Johnny you are the guy that uses the rushing get off my lawn now now you've now you've lived in a man it's like one of these laws long long suburban jibe lanes that are like Calico reminds you can't turn around so go away straight up to the house and she comes from behind me honking at me she now comes from the thought of it wait I'm getting out of here before Cosco sure she took my licence plane they come into my house knocking I guess I guess if you came home and I was in your driveway when you say what the Hell is wrong place right he's got it right Oh by God our eagles goes better than because I wanted to I wanted to look at my so now now I have to do it off the top of my head which only has air now it's on has left there's nothing else already forty go ahead I need I need I didn't get it I need to this is a classic let's get a couple of so you never really answered the question what was about who who wouldn't surprise you who would be the least surprising upset her I mean it's a nine horse field I guess I guess dawn she ran on real well in the TC galloped out in front and all that so if there is in fact a meltdown between Colfax fee and sell court and and dancing then I guess she can come get them all well Kathy dancing spice perfection sell court You talked to Peter Miller what what is this mostly gal wh why is she why is she in the pre injuries for this and the staff what do we know about it I guess you WanNa one other or two other than last out I don't have my PCP I yeah I guess he thought she's doing good and why not take a look you would do we know which way he's leaning yeah he's He's definitely leaning towards the distaff I know it's a first preference I'm more that doesn't mean that doesn't mean anything the news because my girl for Holland door for the Dan Ward Ward and Jerry have it has by Nikki Bob has always game and with with Lucia Lucia's all over twitter or has been oh saying I'll bet you this and I'll bet you that she beats this or beats that and well he's taking his whole bankroll from his wins in the best of Ohio at Muhannad earning valley on a key one two or three he won a one steak maiden and a claimer so he whatever he wants Saturday he's GonNa put on I probably I'm getting I've kidding what was the name of the racy one out here about ten years ago with on the Q.. Three Years Tiger Ria Antonio Rian Antonio with my angle heart what year was that that's gotta be when they were doing the three races three years in a row rally two thousand eleven seven or two thousand twelve or thirteen yeah okay that sounds about right yeah that sounds about right must've hit a lick that day you think the horse that and I brought it up I brought it up early in the show and Johnny and you Bella Fina four four over this racetrack and the turn back which is usually a very powerful angle marty any feel for what she doesn't hear I know that they want this is according Derek loss and they wanNA draw the nine hole so she can be at their just stock till the cows come home and hope that it falls apart in front of her but she good enough is she good enough I mean she she was one of those two year olds who was outstanding and of course early in her three-year-old year but ever since it seems like since got beaten Kentucky oaks she hasn't really been much of a factor so I don't know I mean she she's GonNa be she's fifteen to one on our line she'll be a little bit less than that but and I would never talk anybody off thirty dollar horse but I'm not gonNA use I brought up engage earlier with Martin when the Johnny we're talking about the regular sprint the horse that is sort of similar to engage Wjr that's in the Philly and Mayor Sprint is lady Ninja and here's this who I respect so much the wind and the L. A. Woman it over anonymity and I can tell you dollar was really disappointed with anonymity that day and belcourt was second what what what do you make of a horse like this to that is sort of feels like a now horse that is also going to be a sixth or seventh choice yeah I don't know she's one of the wild cards in here Steve She's she was she's an ex claimer which it seems like they're there's a number of those in the Breeders Cup this year but her numbers saying that she belongs in if the if the race flow goes her way I guess she you'd have to think about it well all right we've mentioned all the participants in the philly and Mayor Sprint Johnny let's get a couple of thoughts about the the features on the main on Saturday and because I want to get Marty's thoughts about the classic and the distaff while I've got a chance to talk to him and how are you let's start with the classic and you know how much how much decision making of you have you made again I've done a lot with the classic I've really looked at it I you know there's a couple stance instead I might take in other words the three year olds not that great this year I know code of honor stoneware always improved he's coming out to California they didn't WanNa com he's worked really small we looked at I'm sorry he did not work so fifty three and soon I think in the in the mall I wasn't really crazy about that it just doesn't it doesn't feel right for me Elat okay she's unbeaten at the distance but I just think this is a little more than what she's been faced Mark Those races are not not this level so I can move off of our higher power definitely gotTa keep him as Luna My ones and then I'm Ki Pingyao podgorze Russell he's one of the ones I just was impressed with his race watching it over and over again he'd really ran well he seems to be the kind of getting better as time goes by the problem I think that the problem you have to deal with in here is Mackenzie because he's he's too good voice to ignore and yet there are things about him that I don't like I didn't like his race the other day I didn't like that tail swishing but he's when Mike was hitting him I do like he's losing ground I don't like the quarter may not be as best distance I don't like that is style is kind of in the middle is not a front rows not closer he's kind of in the Middle and it just don't like the job switch even though does no no issue with those areas I just don't like the every single came together I haven't liked his workouts particularly there's things I don't like about him he may be savored problems I gotta swear and do you know Ross is I think could be for me to work and then I also think that Shabbat if he runs it del Mar race man he is right in the picture can you forgive him because he stumbled last time and then ran ran okay after that this is a four year old that seems to be developing right time he's GonNa be big price I got us kind of what I feel about the classic I know Mr.

"The dot com after a amazing unpredictable thrilling stunning rocking pull out all the appropriate adjectives just it had everything and it had it in the news category in the international category and then of course the Breeders Cup ramifications category every every possible outcome contributing to a an amazing two and a half days Started with the keeneland opener on Friday which was really entertaining it always is and then it fed into Saturday saying even before enables attempt at a third arc de Triomphe triomphe That fell short fell short the given the ground given the Arkham stances just just got beat ran great the noble effort John Gosden amazing in gracious in defeat little bit of the ground a little bit of the trip little bit of vault guys the being just really better on the moment and and he's certainly deserving winner of the Arcot trade Bob who's just legendary though the performances of legends the two-footed Legends they they they abounded over the weekend we'll we'll talk about Richard Mandella in a minute but let's go back into five am on Saturday morning because aside from the the racing action including Friday's also by these win British idiom interestingly the two year old racing some dominating efforts we'll talk about all of them we'll talk to Brendon Walsh who got his first grade one with Max `field but British Idiom on Friday when's the also by`dys Brad Cox and Max Field dominated the twenty four hours later New York the present and the champagne dominated Tis Law Barclay tag funny side to point out the whole thing sacking Toga etcetera and then yesterday wicked whisper to for the leave blocks always happy to see Alex Leib long and Joanne just so committed to the the industry and rewarded with a great one two year old filly really really nice so much to do but back to the news that broke on Saturday morning before many of us were awake I actually didn't get up myself until after six on a Saturday which is a little unusual but the news had had broken that a remarkable deal involving every working part of Maryland I and racing interests and state city and county government agencies all came together to craft a just a a sweeping and Land mark deal that will keep the preakness at old hilltop and a new old hilltop that is going to be potentially everything that has been discussed these last several years Years Alan Foreman I won't get into the details right now because Alan form is gonNA join us in about ten minutes and essentially for those that are hearing the news for the first time or don't know the details stronach group deeds PIMLICO and environs to the city a reworking of the funding that comes from this very clever the comes from the gaming in Maryland the legislation the legislative body Annapolis will have to make blurb line changes and the biggest concern of course all of the project and the potential for the project was going to be where the money was gonna come from because the the Baltimore didn't have it the state didn't have it at Saturate well this was very clever and I can't wait to hear from Alan the specifics of of you've how it basically came to be by laurel gets a complete overhaul and will be you know essentially the nearly year round home of of racing in Maryland expanded stabling and brand new building and they get everything that they wanted at Laurel matching funds essentially one hundred and seventy five million dollars the project in Park Heights multi use facility community centre sports fields public area unlimited potential mixed use zoning for retail and what could essentially a just a I think Alan Rifkin used the word transformative basically be a really a impetus for renovation and rebirth in and around park heights a temporary areas for temporary seating for preakness it the this it's really amazing and I had Alan for them it had at kind of let me know a little bit on Friday night and the details are just I crossing I mean what how how this was pulled off a is amazing so we'll talk to Alan just a little bit and really looking forward to it and then Brendon Walsh Johnny de top of the hour nuncio caress Nacho winning Yes sir hey this spinster back to back against against the odds L- let's be honest I it just didn't just didn't feel like loop rise could defend in that setting against the late and Dunbar road did just that and you could see if didn't see and hear Nacho just very emotional over yesterday's upset several one you got on if you are a believer in blue prize just one of the performances that that resonated on this just terrific weekend I was at Belmont on Saturday team and I went down and we went to see the Abbott brothers Barclays that was tremendous fund twenty eight stake races if you fold in parks in the Greenwood Koppen and and how about your is Saint Louis with another with another horse another big win fifty to one adventist amazing amazing job Sono sets the greenwood up twenty eight states you know if if there's a horse that is made to run back on short timing it's a dentist I would run them back in seven days the also had the mastery and the open saucer up at Woodbine so there were twenty eight stakes Santa Anita Valmont Keelan twenty different writers one stakes twenty different riders twenty eight races Joel One three Drayton Van Dyke all the way back from his injury one three Castellano to Mike Smith to an Smith's but the two particularly Kamari win yesterday and had Indian summer it was amazing but and that struck me the the fact that there was such a wide array of witter's connections yeah there were a couple of multiple states winning trainers Peter Miller won a pair and Cox course won a pair are Clo- I can never get arklow right arco with the Hersch Junior Alvarado who else there were a couple of other pairs of of of winters I bought this Miller Cox cassie they all but there was for the most part the Asmussen to including catching engaged wjr in the Phoenix on on Friday that was that was a nice little they're few few nice pops over the weekend that was one of them but Neptune store was terrific to it at Belmont Hill prints well-placed eyeball Baltics just does a tremendous job the the win though that it just I think blew everybody away uh for a variety reasons first of all it was just playing exciting under the circumstances but Omaha his win in the Santa Anita Sprint Championship Mandela Mandela just defies defies the superlatives you can't come up with enough it it just shake your head with all the fits and starts hiccups in the maybe go here let's prepare for this race in we're we're thinking we wanna WanNa run in the shared belief maybe we'll go to the one turn act because we don't want to turn a was Larry we're gonNA shorten up for the Santa Anita Sprint Championship and you just went into it saying to yourself just hope he breaks hope he gets a good effort in and that he's healthy and moving in the right direction kc right how much more could you really count on or or expect and you thought he could win be chance a lot did you really think even if you're a believer even if you even if you're odd it admiral by the complements and and brilliant career regular decades long examples of of his savvy patients well this was this was unbelievable I'm sorry I I I know that one of the reactions for people was oh well chance lot just you know is not the same the horse that we saw you know that that that win at Saratoga obviously is one of those outlier performances Ah he's not the only horse that's ever done that but he's sound like he's run terrible since but Omaha beach gets the there's a million discussions to be had about who's running who's not the reason they're not the reason there a lot of this was triggered Saturday afternoon after the Champagne I- Tis aw elbow certainly not going to the Breeder's cup juvenile but certainly Jack noten didn't do nobody any favors by saying that he's got concerns about the racetrack that that you don't WanNa go because you want to stay home run in the revson stick around and campaign toward your three year old season with his law but that was just not necessary many Franko with a you could tell how happy and excited he was so much of this boy it it is there's just everywhere I look I haven't even talked about sister Charlie not necessarily her best effort but enough to win the flower bowl I told you about deputy storm the weekend forget dolphin believable Godolphin. Obviously we'll talk to Brendon Walsh after Alan Foreman AH wins the reader sheet thirty wins the matron wins the turf sprint I broke up Bayden or two had a couple of seconds as well a huge huge weekend for Godolphin Samantha upsets yesterday at Santa Anita talk about those watch city hope that might have been the best of the weekend for horses those is on the wire our noses after the first break Allen format talk about the new PIMLICO next with St I bet let's be honest we know you love playing the race but you can't always makes a detract sometimes life.
