"What else do we need to take care of before we wrap up here today. There were a couple of things first of all shea weber. Of course we know now that he is not gonna play this season for the haves due to ankle foot knee and thumb injuries. Always that all his playing career likely over even though he went right down to the final buzzer in the stanley cup. Final this year served as captain of the house for three years. After max patchy already departed in two thousand eighteen. And so they're not going to wear a c. montreal. No one's going to wear a seat. Well they all have other jerseys. I guess because it's the canadians big but as far as the captaincy see they're going without one this year. I'm just. I'm okay either way jimmy about what you do like. I've said you know. I think it's a little overrated. The whole captaincy thing right right if you've decided as a league that one guy is going to wear a cfe like okay. Let's bias thing. Somebody wears a sea and off. You go it just seems like it sake. Such such a commonplace thing that clubs decide we won't even bother with the seat to me. It's like where the thing or don't wear the thing. Don't don't just kind of go back and forth on it. I don't. I don't quite get that. Yeah who gets to wear the right. I think it's talking about the you. Know the the grinders. Like a larry walker although he was awfully good. Like you know talking about this hall of fame that you're saying there should be a place for these guys who don't get much recognition. I you know. Sometimes i wonder if it's like okay here we are. We're going to nominate a captain today. Let's all gather in the dressing room and really truth. Be told steve okay. And by the way i think we all understand okay that you nineteen guys. Don't stand shot okay. Yeah okay it's going to be one of these two or three guys. That's that's the way it's going to be. I was just another punch in the stomach goncane. I guess i'll never be captain. Brendan gallagher give it to josh anderson. Yeah well. I don't care who you do it just you know why. Why do we have to go without a captain. Why is this is the sensitivity of. Well you know maybe some young guys in this team and a couple of years we wanna give it to them and we don't want to strip the captaincy from someone else. I mean that's not ideal granted but to me it's like it's worse to just have a vacancy in that situation. I maybe i'm overestimating i'm not sure. Well you know what they try and do stevie as you know who gets the game ball right. They started doing that right to recognize guys who otherwise. Don't get recognized normally. Okay so you'll see this to go to the dressing room and football right in the going by the way the coach ends up there and then hands the ball to joe unknown right. So that's cool. That's kind of cool. So with the stevie. Sometimes you're going to be the captain for the month..

Yes, I think by the entire landscape is going to change and I think that and we discussed this with Jeff Goodman yesterday on on the Jim Roam show in Rome. I'm happy to be here, Bill. Thanks for saying that. Give me a little bit of Americana. Give me a little I worked yesterday. Sunday was a travel day We came back from Tahoe, which was awesome. But like a billion hour delay at the Reno airport, which is super fun, glad that that that they turned the air conditioning basically off of the Reno airport. That was nice of them, so I could have a sauna at the same time, but my kids were asking when we're gonna get home. Didn't quite have the July 4th festivities that maybe you did. What happened to the bogus house? What, like little Budweiser Little little burgers? What was the move? Well, thankfully, our neighbors across the street have a huge annual Fourth of July party predates us living here. It used to include multiple houses, because, but those folks have moved away and now it's just one house of relative mayhem. So I've got the shortest commute. I have delicious food, plenty of things to drink. The kids are in the pool all day. There's fireworks down the block. It's It's a pretty good setup here. Do you have an American flag out? Did you get you break out the American flags? So we do not own an American flag. But some company around here puts little mini flags in the front lawn every year, the night before. We crave the nightly action of the Stanley Cup playoffs. That's our hockey, You know, it's only it's only game. Why don't you have to be mad? He's a good God. It's your morning serving of Canadian bacon. Only on the D a show Still Hey. Last night A Stanley Cup could have been handed out. The cup was in the building in Montreal 30 series lead for the Tampa Bay Lightning looking for back to back Stanley Cups. But did they get it? A B? Take it away. Ta the cup. Indeed, in the building last night in Montreal, those lightning 16 minutes away from their second consecutive title, Bud. Tampa Bay Mayor Jane Castor didn't think Game four was the right time to wrap things up, but we would like is for the Lightning. To take it a little bit easy to give the Canadians just the smallest break, allow them to win when at home and then bring it back to the Emily Arena for the final and the winning of the Stanley is Jane, Castor and allegories. Long lost, hockey loving twin. We don't know for now the mayor saying that because the Canadian government is not letting any Tampa families crossed the border For a possible celebration. So why not win it back at home? Did she get her wish last night? Now we have already met Coal Coke Coca Cola Caufield in this series Now, How about bark? Lee Wolf Wolf? Good dro. He got Tampa even at one late in the second period last night, But Alexander of the Romanov dynasty put the Canadians back in front midway through the third only. To have Patrick leave the half. ABS marooned late in regulation. Matthew Joseph. The offensive zone. Right circle. Let's look at my room, baby Bird, bad maroon, and this game is tied up to two Dave, Michigan. Phil Esposito Lightning radio game for not at a to six minutes left in regulation. The Canadians feeling even worse when captain Shea Weber to get a razor blade and or his stick and cut Andre the giant palette. The four minute double Minor started with one minute left in regulation carried over for the first three minutes of OT. Montreal's Piquet has been great all postseason. It did its job here, surviving those four minutes without Weber and allowing Josh Anderson to do this. Anderson is able to get it out and he'll turn the corner and Rita he's got a man in front. Ruta gets back changed my car field. Anderson school, John here this term, the overtime hearing and the Canadians are still alive. Josh Anderson sing us a song. "Head to Tampa Bay Lightning com slash playoff parties This is the Stanley Cup final on Lightning radio. Well, fill the lightning or playing well, but so is Carey Price, and that's a big reason why it's still 00. I mean, his best saved were the first the first two minutes. I thought on Coleman really good saves bed lying Holman and Gordon. Good girl. When they're out there, they're in their zone in the Montreal zone the whole time boy, Anderson just missed a great opportunity to clear out of the cost of the From the corner, better fighting back well to their own zone. One reason why the Canadians have not gotten any shots to the Net. Just get the seventh Montreal end to the left of Price, Dano and Point on by the Canadian Sharon in the near corner is checked by Kucherov. Sherrod found Foley, who clears Palat gathers it at center ice over skates it Danno doesn't Drops to his own zone, Sharratt Right wing Shea Weber had made feta No. It's center across the blind. Here's Gallagher at the right circle. Gallagher takes the right corner. Brendan Gallagher slips to Tyler Toffoli right corner shot on that same made Vasilevskiy. There's the first Montreal shot Web roll up point shot blocked by Hedman. Quick kind of plot for Hedman, three on two may be have been across the Montreal line to the right circle tries to sweep it in front. It deflects to turn act back at the left point. Turn back walks in love Circle track in the left corner. Look for Pilate in front. You settle down for a shot got knuckle balled out by Gallagher back to the Lightning in 89 minutes, played in a scoreless first Victor Hedman lifts the puck to turn it in the right wing. Besides, stamp goes, bounces it in. Petrie gets on a stick, though. And works it out. It's going to bounce the lightning line. McDonough hammers it down the ice. I think this is an icing. Yes. So that will set the Canadians up with an offensive zone face off at 11 17 left in a scoreless first. I don't know where McDonough was trying to go with that. Trying to hit Stack post effect wasn't anyway. He was just trying to get it out. He had a Canadian player close to us. Yeah. All right. This may be the first or second Montreal offensive zone face off so far tonight and Suzuki does win it. Petrie at the right.

"Across the line on left wing, an election and his angled off good played by Anthony Cirelli. They're allowing them to stretch it. They caught the Canadians on the change plot gets it over and Kucherov scores. Bad change by the Canadians costs them dearly. It's 31 Tampa Bay and what an alert play by the Tampa Bay defense again. They've been involved in every goal. John hollers Joe Micheletti on the call Here on Sports USA. It's been always something from Montreal in this series, and not usually a good thing. What's cost? The most are bad line changes that even cause that Killer to on old goal, uncharacteristic turnovers and bad locations. Odd man rushes galore and they've never had the lead in the series, which has only happened to other times and Stanley Cup final history. When it was all said and done, head coach Ducharme has some thoughts on the importance of scoring first now. Well, I think it's huge against any team, it would be something important. But at the same time Cannot stop lying. And you know if you don't score the first goal, so no, we want to have a good start. I thought, uh, I thought last game we, uh it's not that we had a bad start is just You know, the major spirit right away on a on a nice ng and and on Empire play. Uh, fuck that we to understand. Uh so we need to, uh Managed to start the right way. Come out, dynamic, active, uh, playing our game, and, uh, you know, getting that first goal there for sure It would be important. And then there's carry Price who was standing on his head, with or without a helmet. All playoffs long from Montreal. But in this series against the best on the planet, the haves Future Hall of Fame goalie ISO and three with the 4 39 goals against at an 8 35 save percentage. Has allowed two goals in the first four minutes of a playoff game for the first time in 87 career starts, and that can get you one win, let alone a chance to win the cup and he knows the score. Now. You don't have a choice. Uh, you know, we've we've overcome adversity all season long. And you know racks are obviously against the wall. So we're going to start bringing our best. Yes, an understatement for sure. And don't ask his coach. If there will be a change in goal for this must win carries a guy playing Monday so If you wonder, or people wonder about who is going to be a net. Kerry is going to be in that. And, yeah, you can talk about one guy and another guy. It's about all of us. To borrow all of us. We need to be better in front of him. Everyone all 20 guys putting on the jersey you know you are looking for Monday night. Playing their best game. That's it. And so how are some of price's teammates sounding now that their backs are super glued against the wall? Well, Brendan Gallagher was actually asked if he can take any positives from that disastrous game three loss. You just have to Correct the mistakes. I mean, it's your here. I'm not going to sit here and take a whole lot of positive. We We believe we can play with these as we believe it since Game one. We just haven't shown it enough for a full 60 minutes. Uh, you know, we've had we've had spurts where we've you know, everything We've talked about. Everything we've done is work. Uh, but there's just been mistakes in our in our game. And, um, you know, we're playing too good of a hockey team. They're you know, they're deep everywhere. They're gonna capitalize are gonna make you pay. Uh, so you know, the positives are this This team has been In many holes. This change been doubted, but the character in that locker room isn't going anywhere. That's something that, uh, we're going to keep competing. Keep playing. In terms of how the games are being played. We need to get better. Sorry for the possible record amount of cliches ahead, But here they come as expected under the circumstances. Josh Anderson, What's your mindset to stay positive? Um, no, we're here for a reason. And, um, obviously, we've dug ourselves a little bit of a whole year. And, um, in the mood slight right now, and, um, we have a job to do, and we're gonna Do everything we can to, um, stay in this thing and fly out Tampa on on Tuesday. So everyone just getting prepared for tomorrow night's game, and, um, we're all going to compete and work hard and put off full effort in Of course, Tomorrow night is now tonight and many moons ago, I was the radio voice to Wisconsin hockey and their leader, then badger. Bob Johnson had some wonderful sayings. Not sure if this was his or not. But what should be hanging in the Canadians locker room right now and became a championship slogan and Madison 60 minutes. No alibis. No regrets when we already know it's a great day for hockey because it always is, and even more so, with the perfectly shined up Stanley Cup in the building, along with our glossy broadcast team. John dollars and one time Montreal drafty A few years back. Joe Micheletti, standing by Atlas, Sandra Bell Fall in Game four and May. None of us ever have to be as desperate as the ABS are tonight, guys. Well, you you Teddy. You pulled out a few of the many cliches that will probably toss around time. The cup is in the building. There's no tomorrow at their backs are against the wall. They're desperate hockey team. All of those things. But also the Tampa Bay Lightning of tossed some cliches around Joe. The fourth one is the most difficult game to get, and there's a little history here. Certainly there were ghosts at the old Forum. Those ghosts remain in Montreal. The Canadians have lost the Stanley Cup final eight times in their history and going to the final 32 times, but only once. In the city of Montreal. Have they lost here? So this is not a foregone conclusion. If you're the Tampa Bay Lightning. You have to just keep the mindset I would think of. Keep your foot on the gas. John Cooper, talking with the media this morning, said. We had a couple of chances last year to finish teams where we didn't I don't get the feeling this is a team that.

"Our Sports USA, Los Angeles Studios or we are most proud to bring you every minute of the Stanley Cup final and we are down to crunch time. It's do or die, or it's golfing season for the Montreal Canadians who trail Tampa Bay 03 in the best of seven final, and only one team has ever come back from dropping the first three games and going on to win the Cup. In 27 tries and 20 of those clubs getting the sweep. And that was the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs over Detroit. And no, I wasn't there. But leaves Captain Syl Apps was and he got to skate off with the Stanley Cup that sits in the building tonight, waiting for the now probable back to back run by the Lightning. Meanwhile, the last sweep in the Cup final was in 1998 when Detroit put away Washington and who is the captain of the wings and their M v p that season? Stevie I Zerman, the man who helped put this Tampa Bay Club on the championship map. So a little trivia for you to play with their as we get you ready for Game four last Friday night, saw the first Cup final game played in Montreal in 28 years in the home team lost 6 to 3. The haves had everything in their favor, except for maybe the rosters. It was the emotional return of interim head coach Dominic Ducharme from Covid Protocol. They had a small but loud and proud, very boisterous 3500 fans in the building and many more outside chanting. We want the cup, but it was Tampa Bay that came out flying, and they not only scored first, but twice in the 1st 3.5 minutes of the 1st and 2nd periods, which was just too much to overcome. For the haves and oh, not only haven't a Canadian scored first yet in this series, but they're yet to get a lead, which is by far when they are at their best 26 giveaways in Game three by the haves after just five in each of the first two games, hardly the recipe for success first time in 12 tries this postseason. Montreal has scored at least two goals in a game and lost Now. It feels like months ago when the Canadians won seven straight and scored first in each of those to get here. Module did get back in the game two with a big first goal of the playoffs by Phillip Danault in the opening period to make it 2 to 1, Tampa and then it was only 1 40 into the second period when the Canadians made one of their too many bad mistakes that may have cost them the game and really the series. I'm not gonna sit here and take a whole lot of positive. We We believe we can play with these guys. We believe it since Game one. We just haven't shown it enough now for a full 60 minutes. "Stanley Cup final and we are down to crunch time. It's do or die. Or it's golfing season for the Montreal Canadians who trail Tampa Bay 03 in the best of seven final, and only one team has ever come back from dropping the first three games and gone on to win the cup in 27 tries and 20 of those clubs getting the sweep. And that was the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs over Detroit. And no, I wasn't there. But leaves Captain Syl Apps was And he got to skate off with the Stanley Cup that sits in the building tonight, waiting for the now probable back to back run by the Lightning. Meanwhile, the last sweep in the Cup final was in 1998 when Detroit put away Washington and who was the captain of the wings and their MVP that season? Stevie I Zerman, the man who helped put this Tampa Bay Club on the championship map, So a little trivia for you to play with their as we get you ready for Game four. Last Friday night, saw the first Cup final game played in Montreal in 28 years in the home team lost 6 to 3. The haves had everything in their favor. Except for maybe the rosters. It was the emotional return of interim head coach Dominique Ducharme from Covid Protocol. They had a small but loud and proud, very boisterous 3500 fans in the building and many more outside chanting. We want the cup, but it was Tampa Bay that came out flying, and they not only scored first, but twice. In the 1st 3.5 minutes of the 1st and 2nd periods, which was just too much to overcome for the haves and oh, not only haven't a Canadian scored first yet in this series, but they're yet to get a lead, which is by far when they are at their best 26 giveaways in Game three by the haves after just five in each of the first two games, hardly the recipe for success. First time in 12 tries this postseason. Montreal has scored at least two goals in a game and lost and now it feels like months ago when the Canadians won seven straight and scored first and each of those to get here much. Y'all did get back in the game two with a big first goal of the playoffs by Phillip Danault in the opening period to make it 2 to 1, Tampa and then it was only 1 40 into the second period when the Canadians made one of their too many bad mistakes. May have cost them the game and really the series. Gallagher feeds it across the line on left wing and licking and his angled off good play by Anthony Cirelli. They're allowing them to stretch it. They caught the Canadians on the changed a lot, gets it over and Kucherov scores. Bad change by the Canadians costs them dearly. It's 31 Tampa Bay and what an alert play by the Tampa Bay defense again. They've been involved in every goal. John dollars. Joe Micheletti on the call here on Sports USA. It's been always something from Montreal in this series, and not usually a good thing. What's cost the most or bad line changes that even cause that killer to Ah, no goal. Uncharacteristic turnovers in bad locations. Odd man rushes galore and They've never had the lead in the series, which has only happened to other times and Stanley Cup final history when it was all said and done, head coach Ducharme has some thoughts on the importance of scoring first now. Well, I think it's huge against anything it would be, uh, something important. At the same time. You cannot stop crying. And you know if you don't score the first goal, so no, we want to have a good start. I thought, uh, I thought last game we, uh it's not that we had a bad start is just You know, they made us period right away on a on a nice ng and and on the power play. Uh fuck that. We too understands. Uh so we need to, uh Managed to start the right way and come out dynamic, active, uh, playing our game, and, uh, you know, getting that first goal there for sure. It will be important. And then there's carry Price who was standing on his head, with or without a helmet. All playoffs long from Montreal. But in this series against the best on the planet, the Habs Future Hall of Fame goalie ISO and three with the 4 39 goals against At 8 35 save percentage. He's allowed two goals in the first four minutes of a playoff game for the first time in 87 career starts, and that can't get you one win, let alone a chance to win the cup and he knows the score. Now you don't have a choice. Uh, you know, we've we've overcome adversity all season long. And you know Iraq's are obviously against the wall, So we're going to start bringing our best. Yes, an understatement for sure. And don't ask his coach. If there will be a change in goal for this must win. Carries a guy playing Monday. So if you wonder, or people wonder about who is going to be in that Kerry is going to be a net and, yeah, you can talk about One guy and another guy. It's about all of us. To borrow all of us. We need to be better in front of him. Everyone all 20 guys putting on the jersey you know, are looking for Monday night playing their best game, that's it. Brendan gallagher kyle alicia mckenna baby. Gallagher's parents obviously really love and as they told. Cbc montreal the idea to name their son after the winger was brain. We are so in love where we're tired. What so worth it. We've been were at the hospital for three days and we're just getting home today and bring them home. It's the best day of my life and tell us more about this journey to find his name. Well it started kind of as a joke when we You know a few years ago we were talking about having kids and what we'd like to name them in an i said i'd like to name them gallagher and it was just going joke and then when We found out we were pregnant. That name kind of stuck around for a little bit. Kinda pesky gallagher. As in number eleven of the haves gallagher. The great number. Eleven run gallagher brendan gallagher and so at least what did you think you just thought. Oh it's a joke. He's not serious. Well kyle had mentioned wanting to name him. After brian gallagher and i honestly was like i love the name. Gallagher is soon as he said a and like leave over like. Say your name after hockey playing. We're like yeah kind of like it. Just kinda stuck and honestly. We never talked about another name. After that he was gallagher long before we even ever decided to have kids. Oh i didn't know that. Kyle had brought the jersey to the hospital with them. Because that was not something that was on the forefront of my mind. He's worn and they put him on my chest and carl jersey out the homeroom like exploded. Because i just didn't know that he had done it and i was like. Oh my god you actually brought it. The staff thought it was amazing. I was just so happy that you remember to bring it. Because i just never would have thought to bring jersey. And i'm so glad that he did. I said the as what we've talked about. And i found that i was pregnant. Was the nights that we would come home. And you know sit. On the couch. Together and watch the game with our nissan. Blood and guts anyways arm. The good producer Eric Doors has a selfish question for your neighbor Hobbs, Man. When you see them when I get a new nickname every time the show happens, but they played great. I like this is my selfishness. I'm taking a little credit. I put a little bit on them, and they got the W so I wanted to ask Cabs, man and Sean both in Sean, You can converse with halves man about this. Do you guys want me to bet on him again against Winnipeg to help you guys through to the next round? That's up to you. I don't tell a man how they can spend them. I'll tell you this, though. That is that Is that what you're saying and using my movements, please? You win and lose with your best players. I actually thought, Look, I'll say this. Matthew's got his chances. He didn't score. Um And I didn't like that. He didn't show that fight like I'm gonna go and and fight for every park in front of the net. And maybe one is gonna go off my back or my head or something and go in like it'll get Corey periods go yesterday. It goes off his leg. You gotta make your bounce. But Marner is the one that I was very, very disappointed and puzzled on. I love Mitch Marner. I think he's a fantastic player even show any Any emotion towards the game like it's the playoffs. You need to ramp it up emotionally and and come back to the bend sometimes and be mad be pissed off, and even in the game yesterday, you watch him. He comes back to the bench days. Showman invention. He's just kind of like as his head down a little bit like it needed a kick in the rear end. In martyr, especially in match you needed to do it. Needs a little bit. Uh, Brendan Gallagher attitude. I get that, but Brendan Gallagher Mitch Marner. Which player do you take? 100% of taking Mitch murder. Absolutely, so he doesn't have such a point. That's not what I'm saying. Well, Brenda Gallagher is five ft three Looks like he's £100. And he is like a fur like a ferocious guy all over the ice. He's going in front of the net in the corners. He's going head first. He's blocking shots. He's always he always seems like he's angry and irritated and he's always going back to the bench. And he's just He's got so much jam and spoke to him that it's like, Oh, my God, and I think that's why I wanted a real one. Not for that. But Gallagher control one because they're their star players have some of that. Well. Toronto Star players thing We have have much that Gallagher I had. Nicky scored a goal in Game seven. I don't want to see Gallagher was very noticeable in the previous six games, but, yes, Gallagher has that. But if you have Mitch Marner skills and Gallagher's gumption When does that give you Red Martian? That's what it is really like Brad Marchand's a mix of Mitch Marner and Brenda Gallagher together. There's very few players like that around the league, but Nick Suzuki Cold Caufield? Yes, Very good. Kenny and me. Those guys are the skill guys, and he needed to show up And they did. And that's Erie's. You mean could can. You mean Caufield did not blame Game one? Because Dominic disarmed a head coach of the Montreal Canadians wanted to trust his veteran. It's playoffs. It's there. And then when he put him into Game two yesterday, last game, 23 and four But Montreal really looked different and got themselves going. And Caulfield could Kenny EMI Suzuki. Those guys really stepped it up Where Matthews Marner. You know, they really didn't. Well, that's disappointing because there they are. World class. We're talking top 10 players in the world. Okay. Austin Matthews. Needs a pulse because he did not show he looked like this was an exhibition game at the start of the year. Yeah, And that's not what you want to see from. One of the best goal scorers in the world. You want to see that jam he's six ft. 3 £225. He's an absolute beast. He floated around the entire game, and his mentality is get the puck to me and I will shoot and score instead of actually going out and getting out of his comfort zone and doing things that It takes to win in the playoffs. How many penalty minutes did Matthews have in this Syriza's? Zero. He didn't get himself in any battle position where you're like, I'm gonna fight this. I'm gonna give somebody two minutes for smiling when he was getting ragdoll by the guys in the corner, and he's just not even fighting back. Exactly. And that's Toronto because that was that's matches and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Sand. We're better than you. We don't need to fight you. We don't need to punch you back. We're gonna win this I like and you're looking back and you say you know what, Like you should have turned around and sucker punched the guy and says, I'm not gonna let you do that job to do that. That's not hiring. That's not here, but you got to play out of character, but they were about to go on a power play. You got to play out of character. You know that. You know that If Nathan making and gets rag dog, he's gonna turn around and punch somebody land disguise their captain. They function in Game one of the ST Louis seriously. They have a little bit more. Yes, they have that in them. Yes. Colorado knows. Yes, I don't. I don't necessarily know that Nathan McKinnon would turn around, sucker punch somebody, but I don't wanna I don't wanna lose focus on what we're saying here, Joe Thornton. We not heard it all for Joe Thornton. I watched last night and I think you know, river. You stay here and you wear your Montreal stuff all day and I think about have we seen him play his last game in the NHL. Maybe Well, because that's the that's the Why consider once said. He's 40 41 years old. He's gonna be 42 in another month. OK, 42 years old. And yes, there are some players that have extended their careers and Dana Char. You know Joe Thorton, Patrick Marleau's. These are the elite of the elite. In the game. When they're in their primes, and I had the opportunity to play with Jo Thorn in his prime and he Woz He was something special. He was truly something special. But you have to remember. When I played with Joe was probably 12 years ago. I just think that you know Joe is his world class player, but I just think at this point in time, he's certainly and I think he knows it and he's getting to the end. But do I think he can play? Still? Yes. At what role is he going to play in that? That's the question Mark and It's going to be. It's going to be ultimately up to Joe. I think there's going to be teams that would love to have him. He does. You know, he does so much for a dressing room to galvanize a dressing room that I think it's um He's NASA it somewhere but easy, a better asset, maybe as an assistant coach or as a player development guy that comes in and can have that. That leadership and still have that influence on a group or as a guy that you got your dressing because you can't do important. You're not sitting him out. You're not putting Joe Thornton and press box is a healthy stretch. It's not happening. But I think that if that is the case, and Joe is Near even near that point of being a healthy scratch, because they can put a better player in on that night. Then, isn't that telling you that it's time to kind of move on in life and hang? Think? Hang up the skates? Well, yeah, I do. And you asked me. Do you think that Joe will, you know be a coach or something like that? I don't know. If Joe's I could see Joe picking up moving to Switzerland with his wife and his and his kids. And you know that's where he met his his lovely wife and I could see them kind of going over there and just kind of live in a different lifestyle. Be honest with you. He's easy, different guy. He's a really different guy. He's a great guy. I know he loves the game. But it's some. It'll be really interesting to see what he does..

"Than playing a game self landing rejected. Now it's Warner. He is strict with fucking Gallagher on the counter along with scores Brendan Gallagher as his first of the series and what's real strength First, it gives seven Suzuki stores tipped in front. It's a power play goal, and it's too nothing much real. Austin Matthews. One goal on 34 shots in the series empty net Tyler to pulling scores and it's three, not the country. All the shop blew again for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadians are headed to Winnipeg for the second round up a Stanley Cup playoffs. Peters, get your golf claps of you Got friends coming to visit owning hard? They e didn't realize they threw that in there the end I was clever guys. I was already I was already talking instigators. W g r 5 50 msg. I think that was job. Oh, and ripping on me a few years ago. You guys know what today's national days. The National day before we get into the Leafs lost last night. What's today's national Day? Hope Everybody had a great long weekend. I don't know the day after Memorial Day. It's the day after the boys that joint first like June 1st Memorial Day changes all the time. It doesn't fall on the same day every year the last four years. It's not what it is national smile at the least, expense day. Uh, it is like, you know, Listen, uh, I don't know how to start this. Hey, you leave fence. Is that a good way to start I was sitting with last night. I say that because I have so many friends back home. I'm in a big group Chad gentleman with my leaf fan friends and I can honestly tell you that There was a lot of gloating last night for me a lot of gloating. I was sitting with someone who had money on the Leafs and someone who had a Leaf jersey on and You know, last night was exactly what I hoped for. And that's exactly what I wanted in the Leafs did not let us down. That's all I can say. Good morning, gentlemen. It's too easy as ribs ribs is wearing his Montreal Canadians Jersey is hat, everything. The boom boom Geoffrion Jersey I love it. I cannot believe the epic. Fall of the trauma Me believes the mighty trump he believes going down to the small little Montreal Canadians. It is a good J gentleman, and you know what it was. It was a great game. Attorneys for the Montreal Canadians, and you know what? There's a lot of bandwagon Tron. Ammi, please. Fans that are gonna have to go and get off the wagon and go and hide for the next couple months. Nothing better. Nothing better. I have my body's phoning me. They're losing their marbles and aunt aerial. You know, all my buddies air Just make an excuse after Excuse John to various wasn't there And we didn't have this beliefs were supposed to get them through the lockdown. Rib belief for their playoff run was supposed to be now This is what they're gonna be doing all summer, watching the least roll through everybody. PD Let me ask you this because I know Listen, we are passionate fan base here in Buffalo. We are very passionate. Now. I totally understand the my police fans for being nervous when they got 32 in Game five, and in 33 in Game six and going to Game seven. It past history makes you nervous, but As you pointed out, like they are so passionate and so worried to show that they're vulnerable that day. Lash at everybody. So I did a couple of, you know, T s and things And I'm talking about the leaves Jack Campbell and maybe fatiguing a little bit. My Twitter mansions were flooded and I'm saying flooded with Lise Van Zan, you know, Shut up, you back up, You know Jack Campbell's the best goal in the National Hockey League. Afridi and Person was in that way would never win. I was playoff series like it just they just laughed at everything. They don't want to show voters away From what that young man did this year. I thought he absolutely, really good year. Great promise. But lemme tell you young man, young man. He's 20 million. Yes. Is he 29? He's 29 years old. I take it all back. Um But the Brendan Gallagher goal the first goal bag. Oh, here, not a bad going, Marty. Bad goal is kind of like a reed reflection or something. And you just the goaltender doesn't track it. Well, this was Terrible, terrible. He's not a good That's not a good game seven goal game. That's not, But how about this? How about this martyr Matthews and willing the lender at one shot on goal after 40 minutes yesterday, one shot one shot goal. And I'm going to tell you why I don't go there. I do not put William the lander. And suck category for the Trump May please. You're right. Okay, don't do it. Don't do what you dis did. There's two guys that should be getting roasted right now. William the lander is not one of them. Take it back. I refused to have someone throw him into the blues. Were they lost? Did you watch Austin Matthews last night played this game seven. Did you watch him? Not Yeah. No. What happens in Toronto? What do they do here? What do they do here? Where? What's the panic button that's going to be hit. What are the excuse is going to be, you know, I mean, there's going to be there is gonna be change again because they're they're They're a team that has a really big salary cap. I mean, What are you going to do? Well, they didn't have Jake Muzzin. Let's let's throw this in there, Jake Muzzin that they did have him for them did happen for 556. Okay, but yeah, everyone in games. Yeah, but you still want you still want to have him like you still want to have him in your game Seven. I mean losing him. That's That's a tough loss. Listen much raw would love And I mean loved have Jonathan drooling who was one of their top forwards on their team, and they would love to have him But they're not making excuses right now, and they never did once in the entire series. So either should Toronto All right. I'm not making excuses for them. I was just I was just saying that is that was a bit of a factor when I am, But again, I think it goes back. It goes back to what? Ribs of sand. They have a huge salary cap. Okay, So where is their salary cap all spent spent on, you know, really Four players, right? You got Matthews making 11.6 million to virus making 11 million martyr, making 10 9. And then after that, you know those three guys taken the majority of it, but the depth on defense. They said all we gotta boost our defense. We got a boost our defense. Well, you know, you still have Morgan Rally at five million and TJ Brodie at five million. I mean, are they good? Defenders are day guys that you get to the playoffs and you say they're gonna shut things down? Rightly even Shae Webber in his old age. I would think here's a guy that can play the playoff like grind and and cross check and that pipe again. Ben Sharratt can play that game. I don't think the least really did that. They acquired some veterans Yes, and spends on Thorton and they went and got Wayne Simmons and they got some grit. But I still don't think that defensively, they were good enough good enough to be able to play in the playoffs and said, I mean, is the goaltending and issue in Toronto. Is Campbell an issue in Toronto know when, okay, and it was never the issue. Either. People like to blame Freddie under somebody wasn't when you go on look at the Defense Corps in trial. Have Jake Muzzin guys have battle tested. He's unbelievable. I love him. And, yes, PD. Not having him in that game definitely hurts. But Morgan Riley is world class. TJ Brodie was incredible throughout this Syriza's and all year long, Justin Hall. You're pretty good. He is a very good defenseman. And then you take this Rassmann Sand sand, Dean. He is excellent. He is Luli. Excellent. They had Zach but their defense Corps. Is not an issue. No ribs, ribs. Where does it go Wrong? Marty, that's still wrong. Restless sand. Dean is really good on the part played by that five on five. He had some blunders in the games that he played, especially in game five years, leaving the leak. Well, I'm just saying, like You can't say that Sand. Dean's air. Really good defenseman is not right now. He's a younger kid. I get that, but he's not right now. They way gonna sit here and say that Rasmus Wrist Alliance heard Darlene is a great defender. No, but we know that's not what he's supposed to learn with time. Well, I mean, Sundeen. And harassment. Darlene are very similar in the way that they play their exceptionally good at moving the puck out of the zone. They're exceptionally good on the power play. They lacks a little bit of knowledge on the defense, but that will come with time. I I think that's that Rasmus Sundeen is is an outstanding young player. At the age of 21. That's all I'm saying. I'm like they have Travis MacDonald. Dermot, who is a very good young player, Their defense Corps. I really like. So you like your goaltending. You like your defense Corps. You got younger. You got older. Then you look like Do they have toughness to they have size? Yes, Yes, they do. Where did this go wrong? I mean, come on, man. You don't know, like, Come on, Let's not beat around the bush. You're big..

"But and you already see people getting signed and someone they're leaving NBC and you know, Eddie, oh, is now, it could be with TNT and the guy that calls in New York Rangers games, he's going to is it Kenny Albert? Yes, I think so. Yeah. One of the Albert's his van obviously is going to be going there to them. So well, a lot of good things moving forward. Hopefully, this is an effort to minimize. The flat cap that is crucially hammer in this league right now, because we're not making much money without fans in the stands. But you can get advertising Revenue opportunities by signing a big deals, like this to relieve some of that effort as well. It's it's just a win-win. The good thing about this one too is like TNT unlike NBC sports. That you have to have a certain package on your cable provider to get TNT is usually in the basic package, so that will lead to more exposure. Like, we always talk about, the NBC never really utilized when they could. I think they've done good things for, for hockey, and I also think that they're kind of like, a very old school thing. I need fun. I need the Jeremy, roenick's of the world. I understand why I got fired as a mile, but like those people we need the grumpy milbury's of the world. We need just those kind of personalities. I do have to say for me. Personally, I do not want Pierre, LeBrun to follow this shit to T and I can't, I I respect him as a human, but I do not need his information or commentary. I just hope that the wire Stiff between, I need them to find a. Yeah, I need them to find a September on fire. Well, you said LeBron, I'm sorry. I didn't understand what you talking about. Yeah, LeBron. Sorry. I just need a balance between the really stiff white hockey, dude, kind of like this is hockey. It is exciting. Like banging like the craziness of the Jeremy roenick's in the bread home, kind of personalities. We need the nice balance cuz really the modern-day Hockey World is kind of a nice balance between the two. So that's that. All right, well we'll see what those sport we should skip. The next one that capitals ranges. Well I was just I I was actually going to summarize that we all know what happened the events of the week, right? The cross. That's my thing. I wanted to ask you because I think we both agree. We hate judge barrels. We're always pissed off at play of safety, but I had a question for you. Did you think that just as a general question dead? Was it fucked up that boost Nave? It got a game suspension for almost the same exact thing that shower did to Brendan Gallagher. Like, my thing was like, you're not even consistent within your own rulings change. Almost the same exact thing a year ago, you gave him $5,000. We all were surprised. He didn't get a game but like, was that a punishment? Like an extra punishment, not saying, we should have done? Just it? Do you think that's part of the problem is, it's it's, it's so inconsistent and and, and real quick, what I want to touch on this was George parros was quoted as he could not wanting to suspend Tom Wilson for the hit on Brandon Carlo and that's an article out there by Logan a Mullen from Nelson. We're going to talk about that but boss running out of time here but I just think that that's wrong and you know I don't I don't like the way that play as safety is working. Yeah this is on just generally. That's on everybody. It's on the plane. To a degree to the cba's..

Hurricanes' Williams stepping away from NHL
"Hurricane kim justin williams has decided to step away from the game end quote. He's not retiring. I'll reduce full. Statement is the first time in my life that i felt unsure of my aspirations nations with regards to hockey for as long as i can remember my whole off season until this point has been hockey in doing what was necessary to prepare for the upcoming season because of my current indecision indecision and without the type of mental and physical commitment atom accustomed to having i've just i've decided to step away from the game. It's important to me that the focus of attention is on the current very talented group carolina hurricanes assembled as they prepare to build on the momentum in growth. We established last season. I think the assumption on here guys is that he's just going to probably come back later in the season. He's probably gonna get healthy. I mean he played late into the season last year thirty eight years old the recovery long it's a long season and he knows mentally i mean you gotta. Give them credit. Read it mentally. He knows he's not there so he doesn't want to go out and try it when he knows he's not there but if i was a betting man i'd say we're going to see him later in the season and it will be almost be like a free agent pick up by then. I think you're dead on i._r._a. Makes total sense to me. I'm just wondering if it's definitely going to be with carolina right. I mean you don't you don't really know how plays but it certainly seems like no matter what he wants to to play at some point this season but say carolina's having an awful years. You're gonna come back to them when they're out of the playoffs who it's like i think i think we'll see him somewhere. Though and that's good i mean he adds so much that team last year. <hes> the whole the whole season was surprise and i think that his play it wasn't a surprise in that. He thought he could do that but it was just he's still able to perform getting holder. Do he's played a lot of games lot of even that league. The games gotten faster faster. He wasn't necessarily known as a great skater when he came into the league and it's only gotten quicker and quicker and he stayed there because of how smart he is how good he is with a with and without the puck and then in the locker room guys love them so i i think it's great that he'll still play if he wants to and i understand after this long of a time and being in the position. You're if you're not ready to go after a long season. If you have the chance to someone assign you if you take a couple of months off as long as you're staying in good shape skate in which he will. It's a great situation for i think as a genius move and you mentioned how much hockey this guys played with. I mean we we. I usually count playoffs. Games is like playing two regular season games hundred fifty five playoff games keeping my two-thirds of those games. Those playoff games have been played in the second half author's career so in the last eight years nine years here. He's played a lot of hockey man and when you have a rap sheet like this guy. I think you have the right to be able to say hey listen.
