"Has all the trappings of the things you would want like a family and children and well than but he's so complying at that when someone louima's boss says his name wrong and so he just starts calling his own wife by the wrong name because that's how compliant is with the system and yet he takes responsibility ever further. You know the people he killed. So i just started thinking. Oh well you know. Does this go back to jack. And jill ri- where they went up the hill and basically both end up falling down the hill so he just made me think how much of this is a fantasy is the whole movie a fantasy in in sam's head and i mean the fact that you can come to several answers. I hope terry gilliam never actually tells you. Because that's what's brilliant about the film right you. We we each get to read into it the way we want he does kinda tell you that audio commentary and i mean he mentions basically what i had thought all the time. Which is that the the fantasy starts at the torture scene. And it comes back the very end of the you realize. Oh he imagined this whole last half hour of the so if that's the case the nets very problematic for me if the idea is that the fantasy only starts at the beginning of the torture seem than the character of jail makes no sense because she totally capitulates to sam for reasons that may also no sin. I mean she just falls in love with him because he stalked her really hard. That part just doesn't work for me. I have trouble with with their relationship and can only watching it this past week. I always tried to figure out like what what's the turning point like. She's so has no interest in him whatsoever and then suddenly does and i realized that the turning point is him writing. I love you on the windshield and thinking well. Maybe that's the first time anybody has said that to her and at it because that's what causes her to like jam on the brakes in that. He's not dead. Yeah i. I don't say it works. That's my theory for me. It's when there is the terrorist bombing in the department store and he actually starts to help out people rather than being so concerned about himself which he is through ninety nine percent of this movie that he actually stops and tries to help somebody but only it hurt instigation. True true like she says help them and then he does and so like he is so selfish bright the he's pure selfishness. It's a shame that gilliam says that because it kind of takes me down a notch by like the ambiguity is what i think is appealing otherwise i have to accept that he's just another eighties male. Who can't write a female character. Thinks that women should just fall in love with our whatever heroes presented to them are quote unquote hero. Which i think is lame and who knows. Maybe the other footage somehow fleshed her out and made some of it believable but it certainly not believable in the footage that ended up in the film. I was gonna say there's a lot more of her character in the love conquers all version. But i can't say that knowing that exists in now seen it that i wish any of it were in the better. Well something else. That kind of leads to the idea of more of this being a dream is just the refrain of the brazil song. And that air. I m j h when he pushes those buttons in the elevator. That's the brazil song. He's been humming the brazil song i think even in home is humming the brazil song. It's like this earworm. That goes through the entire movie and this will be probably the first time that we've talked about a movie with michael came and score where i haven't picked michael came in because i think is score in. This film is actually brilliant. And i love the way that he integrates the brazil song into what he's doing which is ironic. Because apparently he didn't want to do that. He hated the song and then finally convinced to to use that as our main motif going through here but he came to love it like it was really interesting to see the interviews with him. Also that he was struck by gilliam's charged him which was can you make music funny. I thought that was really fascinating. This idea that could he imbue the music with a sense of humour. And how would he do that. And then also just finding the rhythm with typewriters and i'm not as hard on came in as i've heard you be other i mean i. Yeah sometimes he can be a little sappy. But i kind of i like it. His romantic spirit and some of his soundtracks at this is very different for him. Except when he cuts loose you know in those supposed romantic Moments where the soundtrack practically overwhelms the speakers with intensity. The one gag where sam is riding in the little car and the brazil song is playing on the radio and the broadcast is interrupted by a report about a terrorist bombing and he reaches over new changes. The station and other station is playing the exact same song exact same place. It's the only song radio which is very like soviet union. Right like there's one. There's one channel and whatever's on it and if what's the old yakov smirnoff channel it's like channel one is is the us. The state communist channel channel two is a kgb agent telling you to turn back to channel one the only funny cops job by the way in my country radio channel changes..

"I mean, that's how far you go back down while what would happen man back in those days. It wasn't even cooler fight. It was kind of like something you just did on the weekend out here in Hawaii at the at the Blaisdell Arena up over here. So, yeah, I think I think actually when when when someone asked me to fight I was like I guess so I'm not doing anything that we can so I might as well but you also said the reason that you've been knocking everyone out is that you actually stop working your other job. What's your other job working at the UFC Gym out here in Hawaii wage cuz you know, yeah. Yeah just one-on-one coach and Jim is like so I mean buying training I'm training other people. Okay. So yeah, so now stop doing that email to focus by like not turning other people Yeah, man. They just some you know, it's it's not a hard job, you know, like, you know, you got a construction job you got laborious job is this more mentally draining. I think just being able to be entertaining your clients on a minute every single minute while you're in there section. So I think it was just that that mental drain that really led me to practice unmotivated or you know, just not as much energy. I'm not as much output at a as I would have liked them. Were you back? I mean, it's been working good. Were you banging your clients? Cuz I heard that's the thing now. No, no, it's not much. I feel like I'm like you lose clientele when you do that or or get some more depending on if word gets out that like now that you made you more laser-focused and that's why you're just been sleeping people. Because you didn't have to think about oh I have to worry about this time. All you had to worry about is okay to go in front of me go to sleep. I think so, you know, I wake up and you should be able to work out and then not go to my job. I get to rest and get you know unwind and then focused back up again when we got like our evening practices. Thursday is a lot more focused. It's a it's a lot more energy output from me. And yeah everything just been falling into place in this ripe old age. No, no, you've never attempted to track down in the UFC. Do you know that you could wrestle or or is that like a thing that you're against dang? I thought I did. I guess it didn't look like it but off. Yeah, you know should I didn't grow up wrestling that was during a basketball season and that was always the first first love of my life was basketball. So, you know, I thought it was more like me learning on-the-job how to defend takedowns more than anything just because I started off in the Striking Arts of boxing and kickboxing. So, you know, don't don't don't think that you'll see it anytime soon. Even though you know, Ricky Simone is one of my main training Partners. But yeah, I think the fans want to see me just not go out. Now. You're a funny guy cuz you keep saying what are you going to roast me? Where are you going to roast me and you're a hard guy to roast because like like you're a nice guy a good-looking guy seemed very well-adjusted. I'm trying to find something else you right now bro this guy and now now but your career has been crazy because you went to Brazil song. You knocked out a door odontist in Brazil afterwards. Did they like you the Brazilians? Are they all want to kill? You know, they hate me everywhere that I go to you know in a different country and I knock out their their Hometown hero. I mean, I'm just a wanted man. So we're always just we got eyes on our backs. We stay in the hotel. We order room service way. We're gonna go out there to know local restaurants. Where are probably going to spit in my food or yeah call somebody to come in and rough me up for that Brazil is like if you win money they go. Okay, wait till you come outside, you know, dr. Tina of in Russia. Oh, I mean, how were you worried about getting home after that, you know at at that point I at that point in my career, I felt just so upset that I wasn't in the the US a band had a fight in the UFC even with all these big knockouts at Birth. I really did not care like it was it was hilarious. So I knock out all debugging. No, and you know everybody just going crazy everybody screamed and rushed in and I mean everybody seemed in a rush and we don't understand what I'm pretty sure. It's kind of like, you know, but you I'll kill you or something like that and like my corner my boss guys are there like holy shit, what's about to happen and and they turn around and they look at me I'm standing in the middle of the cage is flicking everybody off. Oh my God, you know my dad my coordinators are like Pikes. What the hell are you doing is like guys if I would run out over there right now. They think I'm crazy. I bet you which is scatter. But I think it was just all that pent-up just just me not being where I want to be at that point. Even with these big waves that I just didn't even care anymore. Well you finally I mean now you went into the UFC and beginning were you worried about getting cut? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah me, you know, two two thousand two losses right off of the bat does not look good. So when I got the call for a third class kind of like wow, that's a blessing in disguise. I think I should do something awesome right now dead. You did I mean you're now you're now you're too and oh, you got two first-round Knockouts. I mean Thirty One seconds and thirty-two seconds. Who are you to say against on a second round of the second second I would have right now, who do you want to fight next? You know, I would like to fight Joby but you know, I don't think they'll probably give me that fight him coming off of 2 KO life is you know, I've number fifteen. I think he must be like either number one two, or three. I don't know if that's too big of a jump, but that's what I wanted to fight. But whoever they give me. I hope it's just a A ranked opponent it now just because I have been the welcoming committee and I proved myself that I'm a little bit better than just fighting the the debut hours. So, well, what if you think you could you fight me winner gets your woman or something? Like why don't you like you gotta up just you gotta up to State? I think so, I I didn't really have to do that real soon and getting any younger off. On the winner gets your woman. What is this code and phone and I shall have your woman that would be like he'd have to fight you then. Right? I mean, here's This Woman's honor know, you know get the woman like she's in servitude now like you feel like something like I bet I could compliment her more but something like I'm a real feminist like you you just kind of confuse them like jobe's Nigi good and hugged it and do anything that I would only attack him personally. All right, Vince. What should he need to get a higher ranked opponent next? I don't know honestly cuz it seems like a high rank guys are like afraid to fight people because they like aren't really confident their skills. So who knows? Honestly, I've been trying to fight some hiring guys too, and I haven't really got anyone to buy wage. I was kind of like I got that Jim Miller fight. Okay, but you guys don't want to fight anyone your creative guys Hawaiian guy. He's thirty-seven. He's on a two-fight went straight knocking everybody out. What should he do to get a higher higher rank? I am the same age then wait two and 38 and I literally just turned thirty seven. So you're so older. You're still older older folks. What did you say? Like, I have the biggest dick in the flyweight division or something. Like what something that like like, I I You Gotta Have.

After nineteen fifteen then it changed to committee manifestations over the years after nineteen twenty eight one of the most popular brands of guitars, played Hawaiian music was the Dobro name for it manufacturers, the dough para brothers and San Francisco. As I said. Fifties various mainstream country musicians began using the Dobro on occasion left. If Rozelle was one of them. But the reason lefty brought to get the Hawaiian guitar into his music is because he he made a very well received tribute to Jimmy Rogers around nineteen fifty four and fifty five and he have to revive Jimmy Rogers name. And I'm convinced that that's the reason why Merle haggard learned about Jimmy Rogers because he was such a fan. He added allies left it for sale. So he did after Brazil songs, and so eventually borough that his own trivia, Jimmy Rogers, which showed the influence of leftovers.
